- 2:21Terri Broussard Williams: Hello, everyone. I am Terri Broussard Williams, the host of roots and rebirth, and I'm so excited to bring this episode to you today. This is our very first, st our newborn baby. All the things we are having, a conversation with the 2 people that inspired me to birth roots and rebirth.
- 2:41Robyn Miller Brecker: Robin Miller Brecker and Karen Loenser. I will. I'm going to. Yeah.
- 2:47Robyn Miller: I actually wrote it down this morning, so I wouldn't forget.
- 2:49karen Loenser: I saw this.
- 2:50Terri Broussard Williams: I want to do that later. I want to do that over, anyway. Give me a second.
- 2:55Robyn Miller: Yeah.
- 2:55Terri Broussard Williams: Sure I had a thought that took me off track.
- 2:59Terri Broussard Williams: Okay.
- 3:03Terri Broussard Williams: we're having a conversation today with the 2 people that inspired me to bring roots and rebirth to life.
- 3:11Terri Broussard Williams: Robin Brecker and Karen linzer they are these incredible souls. I'm convinced they're my soul sisters. They bring light to the world for people who want to do good, but also bring good businesses to the forefront. So today you'll learn a little bit about how they've started something they call seeking center, which can also be your place to seek your center, and how we, too, will be partnering as a force for good.
- 3:37Terri Broussard Williams: I am so excited. Wait, let's do that again, too. Okay.
- 3:42Terri Broussard Williams: I'm so excited to bring this conversation to you, and to have you be a part of my very own journey. With that I want to say, welcome to you, Robin and Kieran.
- 3:53Robyn Miller: Hi Terri.
- 3:54karen Loenser: Thanks so much for having us. This is such a joy for both of us.
- 3:58Terri Broussard Williams: Well, it's so. Oh.
- 4:00Robyn Miller: No, you go!
- 4:02Terri Broussard Williams: I'll I'll start talking now.
- 4:04Robyn Miller: Yeah, yeah.
- 4:04Terri Broussard Williams: It's so funny because we were set to record begin recording about 30 min ago. But we are so in a flow, state catching up on life.
- 4:13Terri Broussard Williams: podcast all the goodness that you guys are doing and what's to come ahead, that it's almost like we're now inviting everyone into our girls chat our coffee conversation. So I know this is going to be so much fun.
- 4:27Robyn Miller: Totally agree, and it's just so cool to have been on the journey over the last several years together, and to have you birth. This, which is, makes so much sense that with the name roots and rebirth right
- 4:42Robyn Miller: like, it's just, it makes so much sense. And we're really honored to be so so much a part of it. And to have you be such a part of seeking center and all that we're building.
- 4:55Robyn Miller: It's just it's a real. It's a real reconnection of souls.
- 4:59karen Loenser: It is, and it's been a dream for us to be able to have soul sisters like you join us in the collective and wanting to share all of these stories with people. You have your own journey, we have ours, we have our own tone of voice, so do you, but collectively. To be able to share all of these journeys with everyone is is what we've always dreamed of doing.
- 5:22Terri Broussard Williams: Well, I think we should start there. I want to talk a little bit about how the name came to be, because it was part of a journey, and then share with everyone how I got connected to the 2 of you.
- 5:34Terri Broussard Williams: So I've been wanting just to get back into storytelling. You know, my 1st career was in television news, and now, during the day, I am a state and local lobbyist for a fortune, 300 company, but really wanted to get back to storytelling, and for years
- 5:52Terri Broussard Williams: thought about you know, what would I talk about? What would the name be? And you know, during the pandemic. I had a podcast which pretty much was contained during the pandemic. My life got busy again. It just kind of went by the wayside. But I stood I could not think of the perfect name, and then, after a shamanic energy healing session, I started journaling and started thinking about my own name and what it meant.
- 6:19Terri Broussard Williams: and I started connecting the dots, and what I found was so wild. The last 4 jobs I've had. I've been the 1st of some kind, either. The 1st person to have the role, the 1st person at the company to be a lobbyist, the 1st woman, the 1st black woman they were like all these firsts.
- 6:39karen Loenser: And my name. If you look up, Terri, it means one of harvest.
- 6:44Terri Broussard Williams: So then I kept thinking about what happened to myself every time I got one of those roles, and it was this Mini rebirth
- 6:53Terri Broussard Williams: and the last job that I came came within weeks of me, finalizing a divorce moving into a new place, just finding my voice in a different way. I've always had a person been a person with a voice, but it was like a new voice, a new way. And so I was like, Wow, there is this pattern where every time I start something new, there's this rebirth that happens, and my life changes in a very big way.
- 7:19Terri Broussard Williams: And so I hope to tell people's origin stories who they are, where they've been their triumphs. But most importantly, you know the obstacles they've overcome, their roots.
- 7:30karen Loenser: Okay.
- 7:31Terri Broussard Williams: But also really dig deeper into the stories, the tools, the people, and the guides that have helped them along the way for the incredible rebirths they've had, and many of you that are listening. I hope you're like me with every rebirth I've shedded some sort of layer, some sort of thing which has allowed me to be the truest version of myself.
- 7:54Terri Broussard Williams: So I hope that all of us that you're listening to today, and the people that you'll meet moving forward will inspire you to do the same. And along that journey you'll be able to repair yourself a little bit and to heal so that you can do the same for those around you in the world.
- 8:12karen Loenser: Oh! So beautiful!
- 8:14Robyn Miller: I love that, Terri that's so profound and so in alignment with also what Karen and I like to
- 8:24Robyn Miller: have the opportunity to showcase to other people. Which is this idea of your soul blueprint? And so what you're talking about is, you know, there are all of these moments where we have an opportunity to to rebirth, you know, to to reset and and get deeper, and to who we really are, and you know, for Karen and I, we really believe so many of those moments
- 8:51Robyn Miller: we somewhat planned before we even got here. And there's validation that you can find from so many different modalities that end up validating. Why, you are where you are in your life, and the journey that you're on.
- 9:09Terri Broussard Williams: Yeah.
- 9:09karen Loenser: Yeah. And you know, it's so funny. You asked about the origin of seeking center. And as you were talking, I'm thinking it really is seeking center came from our roots in rebirth as well. When Robin and I came together we were both at a big crossroads in our lives, and we were kind of looking for our purpose. We were taking the roots of who we were. All of our life experiences, our work experiences, our homeland
- 9:33karen Loenser: for everything that we've been through, and when we came together it was like at the exact moment when we were both ready for a rebirth ourselves. And really that was the heart of seeking center, and how we really came together was sharing those stories, and as seekers, and the seeker in us was really at our core, we were saying to each other, it's like, we know we're seeking something we're seeking to come back to, really who we are, which is
- 9:59karen Loenser: our center. And so that's really where we began our storytelling of our own backgrounds. But then, looking for other stories of seekers to share.
- 10:09Terri Broussard Williams: Well, what's so wild as you said that you know I you know with a cliff notes version, the you know the shortcut version of how you 2 came together.
- 10:18Terri Broussard Williams: But I had this picture of both of you in these big offices working for big entities. You know, Karen, you were at the discovery network. Robin, you were working for Oprah Winfrey, these big figures and here you are trying to figure out, what are you supposed to do? What is your purpose? Where some people are like? Are you kidding me? You guys have made it.
- 10:42Terri Broussard Williams: But the decision you made brought you to your truest version of yourself
- 10:47Terri Broussard Williams: and to each other. I mean, like, you guys are like freaking frack. You're having coffee virtually together every day.
- 10:53Robyn Miller: Yes, we do.
- 10:55karen Loenser: Yeah.
- 10:56Robyn Miller: Yes, we do.
- 10:57karen Loenser: I think we both recognized within each other like very, very different backgrounds, of course, and I remember when I met Robin and then her team. I was in awe because who isn't in awe of everything that own and Oprah has done, and I knew that Robin and her team were the ones really like behind the scenes, creating all of that amazing content. And as a seeker myself, I had always secretly wished to be in their little club.
- 11:24karen Loenser: sitting with them and learning from them, but then also seeing the essence of who they were as women, as leaders, as seekers, and very authentic in their stories of like, Hey, we haven't figured all this out. We love exploring. We love diving deep into this, but we haven't figured it out, but I think where Robin and I were at our careers were.
- 11:47karen Loenser: you know. Yes, this is fantastic. And these companies that we worked for. It was such a blessing to be there in so many ways, but we wanted to take
- 11:56karen Loenser: what we'd learned and really apply it to at the core of what inspired us, which was seeking, of being curious, of finding out all the magic behind the scenes of life. That you know, we just had the tip of the iceberg, I think. And so the more Robin and I shared about our own journeys as different as they were, we realized that we were kind of in the same place
- 12:18karen Loenser: of wanting to take everything that we've learned and and help other seekers seek, seek with them. So that's how seeking Center was really born.
- 12:27Robyn Miller: Yeah. And just to add to that, I would ask everyone who's listening
- 12:33Robyn Miller: to really pay attention to that feeling that you can, that you have inside, and to what you said. You know, Karen and I had worked so hard for so long in these really big and established and unbelievable organizations, and yet we could feel so lost inside. And I don't think that I would have imagined that until I felt it.
- 13:00Robyn Miller: And so I think it's really important that paying attention to that feeling of
- 13:07Robyn Miller: why? Why am I here? Why am I feeling so lost?
- 13:11Robyn Miller: It is your calling card to. It's time to change your soul is whispering to you. Something has to change, even if it all looks good. And even if it's a little scary, what does that look like. And I think what you're providing by telling stories, what we're providing by
- 13:30Robyn Miller: telling stories, and then also giving people the opportunity to go and experience something so that they can get back to that core of who they are and why they're here, and what they should do next. That's why we are doing what we're doing, but pay attention
- 13:48Robyn Miller: to that calling, because it's, you know.
- 13:50Robyn Miller: a lot of people want to just stay in their lane. They feel like it's a little too scary to shake it all up, because it does look good on paper, and you have worked so hard to achieve something. But the whole point of life is to take the roads less taken right is for the curvy road, not just the straight line. You came here to have a journey, and the journey is full of the ups and the downs. So so just remember that I think it's really important.
- 14:19Terri Broussard Williams: Yeah. You 2 say this all the time. Listen to the whispers right? And when things are hard, when they're not coming to you with ease. It's because you're not supposed to be on that road.
- 14:29Terri Broussard Williams: That's right, that's right, whispers and take. We call it in Louisiana, where I'm from the service road.
- 14:37Robyn Miller: Comes out.
- 14:38Terri Broussard Williams: Usually has less traffic, and that's the one where you're supposed to be.
- 14:42Robyn Miller: Yeah, yeah, it makes life a little more interesting, that's for sure. And that's the point, right? That is the point, you know. If we hadn't done that we wouldn't all be here right now, so.
- 14:53karen Loenser: With us. We're always saying that the seeking journey is is not a destination at all, too, and I know that sounds a little bit cliche. But
- 15:02karen Loenser: after walking the walk for a few years with with Robin, I think I've learned that there is so much to learn, and that, as Robin was saying. That is the point. And with every zig and zag that we've taken we have learned so much, and the difficult times are the ones that really teach you the most, and back to the roots and rebirth. Sometimes, looking back is also important, too. I think so often we're
- 15:25karen Loenser: push to like, move forward, do the next thing get to the destination. But there's so much information in our past and and the milestones that we've been through in our lives that are messages to us about the lessons that we need to learn, and maybe the things we need to let go of, and the things we need to rebirth into. So
- 15:45karen Loenser: everything that you're talking about, Terri is so it's such an important message for people who maybe don't even necessarily feel stuck, or maybe not even necessarily feel that they're at a crossroads this minute. But with every moment and every day there's that opportunity to really understand the essence of who you are, and that's why we love the conversations that we have, because it's like a twist of the kaleidoscope that gives you
- 16:09karen Loenser: a whole different perspective that you may never have had before.
- 16:13Terri Broussard Williams: Yeah. Well, speaking of looking back, you know, I found myself during the pandemic. It's about June 2020. I just started a new role at a company, and I didn't know if it was quite challenging enough. And I get this phone call at the hair Salon under the hooded dryer.
- 16:34Terri Broussard Williams: Don't judge. I was going to the hair salon in the pandemic.
- 16:38Terri Broussard Williams: and I lived in Texas. We were open, and
- 16:43Terri Broussard Williams: the woman is just telling me I had a dream about you last night. It was a woman that had only spoken to you twice ever she was another lobbyist.
- 16:52Terri Broussard Williams: and she starts painting this picture of me as a young girl dancing on the beach, and I just started crying at this point, you know, really not a crier definitely, not in public. But it was a picture that I had of myself at home.
- 17:07Terri Broussard Williams: And so she's telling me she's working with this this woman
- 17:10Terri Broussard Williams: who's helping her reach her full potential, and, like her intuition, is telling me I need to meet this woman.
- 17:17karen Loenser: And it was Cheryl Netski.
- 17:20Terri Broussard Williams: And so I am like, okay, I look at Cheryl's website. And I'm like, this is fascinating. But like at this point, I'd only talked to a medium once. That was as far as my seeking journey had been. So I have a call with Cheryl, and I'm like there's no way one I can afford this woman 2. I don't know if this is going to work, but I leave the door open as any good lobbyist would, and I'm like, Okay, I need to learn more. Can I contact you in the future?
- 17:48Terri Broussard Williams: And so I find myself.
- 17:50Terri Broussard Williams: Months later, November 2020, I switched jobs.
- 17:54Terri Broussard Williams: I'm at the world's second largest company like, literally. And I was so lost to use some of the language you guys used before I was so lost I went from just being like Terri, this Badass lobbyist that everyone knew. It's almost like I was a name brand in the lobbying world. I say that with like great humility to being one of 300 something lobbyists. The world's largest lobbyist shop.
- 18:19Terri Broussard Williams: And I'm like what is happening. It was so weird like who you are didn't matter. You were just a number. I'd be on calls saying what was the right thing to do. No one cared, and they wanted to do things that did not make sense, and I knew were not right.
- 18:35Terri Broussard Williams: So I. And at the same time, too, I was thinking about getting a divorce.
- 18:39Terri Broussard Williams: So I call Cheryl. Long story short, we start working. It was life changing and a couple of months into the work she's like, I'm going to introduce you to someone. When you're ready you're not ready, but when you're ready I'll introduce you to them
- 18:57Terri Broussard Williams: so fast forward. It's like a couple of years. I I think it was like, December of 2022. She's like, you're ready to meet my friend. I'm going to send her an email.
- 19:07Terri Broussard Williams: Okay?
- 19:08Terri Broussard Williams: So she sends Robin an email. It's like
- 19:12Terri Broussard Williams: it was like, maybe December 20, second of 2022. I only remember it because I got to. My mom's like for Christmas to celebrate Christmas.
- 19:19Robyn Miller: That's a good number. By the wow! I have to look.
- 19:22karen Loenser: Tattoos.
- 19:23Robyn Miller: A lot of 2. That's a real angel number.
- 19:26Terri Broussard Williams: So she sends the email to introduce Robin and I, and we finally meet in January, and I'm in the middle of like a manifestation challenge a 21 day manifestation challenge. I think I mentioned that to you before, Robin. So we have our 1st call, and I'm like what is happening. It was like we've been talking to each other for years.
- 19:46Robyn Miller: Yes.
- 19:46Terri Broussard Williams: Wild.
- 19:47Robyn Miller: Yes, I always say that those are the unlockings. Right? Those are the times, because there's not many honestly in your life you can end up remembering most of them because
- 19:57Robyn Miller: powerful, because when you meet your soul family, it's like you could talk forever. You've known each other literally. You've known each other in. You know so many lifetimes that it's this, your soul is like giving everyone a big hug. That's how I look at it.
- 20:13karen Loenser: It's like a snapshot in your.
- 20:14Robyn Miller: It is.
- 20:15karen Loenser: It is. It's that memory is so vivid.
- 20:18Terri Broussard Williams: Yes.
- 20:19Robyn Miller: And now and she she must have known that I mean she must have cause. She is, you know. She sees all she must.
- 20:27karen Loenser: Ha! Ha! Ha!
- 20:28Terri Broussard Williams: Pretty much, but what's so wild is now, you know I've I recently had my birth chart read by Stevie, who's.
- 20:38Robyn Miller: I haven't even heard this.
- 20:40Terri Broussard Williams: And you guys show up like in 2026. Stevie says we're gonna do big things. You know, I introduce you to Tina Powers, who is one of my, you know, soul family members. You show up every time I have a reading with Tina Powers. There's not been one since I've met you 2 that you haven't come up.
- 20:59Terri Broussard Williams: And so it is a big soul hug, because you know, but I see them also as these winks that.
- 21:05Robyn Miller: It is.
- 21:06Terri Broussard Williams: You are on your right path. Keep going.
- 21:08Robyn Miller: Well, and that
- 21:09Robyn Miller: it's like the and the fact that we can be aware enough of that is the magic right? Like it feels magical people always ask me. I want to feel awe. I want to feel magic. It's like, just pay attention. They're all there for you. It really is. And and sometimes I know when we're going through these really difficult moments in our life, you just need them even more. They will show up
- 21:34Robyn Miller: they will. It doesn't take everything. It won't make everything magically better in an instant. But it helps, you know.
- 21:40Robyn Miller: just knowing you are exactly where you're meant to be, is just like so helpful it just it. It can change your day. It can change your life, you know, and that's what these moments do. And so.
- 21:56karen Loenser: Robin. You're reminding me, too, how we we always talk about connecting dots with through experiences. And that's something that we love to do is right like, take the astrology and layer it with the tarot reading and the cheryl reading, and just see all the synchronicities and commonalities in the messages that we receive. But what you're reminding me, Terri, too, is like through seeking center through these experiences, through the meetings of all of us together, or the re-meetings. The
- 22:23karen Loenser: bye, yeah, right?
- 22:24karen Loenser: It's it's the connecting of the dots of our souls as well here on this planet together. Right? We've all had our our separate lives. And I could just see us planning this lifetime together, saying, Okay, you know, at this point in time we're all going to come together and incredible things with each other. So I just.
- 22:43Robyn Miller: I always look at it. It's like we are in this lifetime looking for all the pieces of the puzzle to put up the right place. That's what this adventure is really all about. And then when you, when you 2 pieces connect, you're like yes, I feel it. I feel it in.
- 23:03Robyn Miller: And I also, you know, on just another little tangent. I want to just talk about cheryl and shamanic work, and that for people who've never heard of a shaman.
- 23:18Robyn Miller: I had never heard of a shaman in 2018, when I met Cheryl, and I was with a friend who said, you need to meet my shaman cheryl and cheryl, wouldn't I don't. Even she's been trained in shamanic work, but she really is, even beyond that.
- 23:34Terri Broussard Williams: Yeah.
- 23:34Robyn Miller: Just for for that reference. I thought when this person, said Shaman, I pictured this like honestly in my head, very cliche some little man that was going to take me on a walkabout, and we were going to do lots of drugs.
- 23:48Terri Broussard Williams: I hadn't even thought that drugs were involved. I didn't. I just saw
- 23:52Terri Broussard Williams: someone, you know, like, maybe an Aztec type figure. I didn't even know plant medicine existed until about a year ago.
- 24:01Robyn Miller: Love you, Terri.
- 24:04Robyn Miller: I love that about you.
- 24:06Robyn Miller: Well, no, and I really and I really was like I don't know that. That's where my soul, you know, is calling for, and she's like, Oh, no, that's not what I'm talking about, Robin. She lives in Michigan. She grew up in a town right near you in near Chicago. And I was like, Oh, okay. And so then I was a little more open because I wasn't. Yeah. I'm all open to any sort of modality that's going to help someone so plant medicine and stuff
- 24:31Robyn Miller: one of them. But I at the time I just wasn't. I wasn't knowledgeable enough, right? So I meet Cheryl, and she's really like someone that can be my friend. So that, however, her energy and her presence are like none other. So I just wanted to say that to people who are like, What are you talking about? And really, what she helps you do is
- 24:55Robyn Miller: there's some deep soul work that we all can use to really help us move forward on this path, and she can really help you with facilitating so much of that.
- 25:07Terri Broussard Williams: Yeah, and thank you for starting the conversation, because, you know, there are some of my family and friends might be listening to me. Talk about this type of work and just self healing for the 1st time, you know. And so for people that are listening, I don't want you to hit, pause, or go to what's up next in your mind.
- 25:27Terri Broussard Williams: because, you know, roots and rebirth will be about this, and so much more
- 25:32Terri Broussard Williams: so for me. I still self-identify as a Catholic, but I'm both a believer of, you know, a religious experience and a spiritual experience. I pray to a crew I'm from Louisiana. So that's crew with a K. You know. Saints, gods! My family in heaven, you know my helpers. I pray to like all the peeps.
- 25:55Terri Broussard Williams: but I definitely wanted a place where we could hold space for both. So one day we might be talking to a nun who's a change maker in a community.
- 26:06Terri Broussard Williams: The next day we might be talking to Tina Powers or Cheryl Netsky, who's also helping people in a different way. What I hope you discover is that you don't have to pick one. There's no team you can pick what is most true for you, and you could hold both along the side of each other, if that's what resonates.
- 26:25Terri Broussard Williams: But the words are very similar. The intentions are very much the same. The work is very much the same, you know. Some days you might find me praying in the morning and transitioning into a meditation. Other days I might be journaling and writing to saints.
- 26:41Terri Broussard Williams: Little later, in that same journal. There might be guides.
- 26:44Terri Broussard Williams: you know, so I hope that you all leave with an open heart and mind to learn, so that you can truly do the work that you need to repair your soul and yourself, and help the world and those around you.
- 26:57karen Loenser: That's so beautiful like Robin. And I talk all the time. It's like you have to go where people are, and everybody has a different life experience. You know, spirituality can be driving a school bus every day and and shining light to children and inspiring them just to get through the day. Right? So everybody has, regardless of who they are and how spiritual or religious, because I'm very much the same way I still
- 27:21karen Loenser: do the Sunday church thing Catholic. I don't know. Maybe that's just who we are, but I love it all because it's all about ritual. It's about putting yourself out there and allowing yourself to be open to a higher power, whatever you want to call that to be your guide and help and strength during this life journey, which is which can be really hard at times. So I think it's wonderful that you're sharing stories of the earthworkers as well as the light workers. I think we need to hear all of them.
- 27:51Robyn Miller: Yeah. Yeah. And all of this work, you know, just bringing it also back to the roots.
- 27:57Robyn Miller: When I think about for me. My Dad passed away when I was 12, and that was an instrumental moment in my life and journey, for sure. And it's you know. However, many years later
- 28:12Robyn Miller: I look at that and really understand the purpose in it, and I wouldn't be me if that didn't happen. I wouldn't be doing what I'm doing right now, if that didn't happen, and I know because I have done a lot of spiritual work and have really channeled different types of and worked on my own abilities to connect with spirit. I know that my dad and I are working together. We planned this. We really planned this.
- 28:41Robyn Miller: and it took, however, many decades for me to get there right. So that happened when I was 12. And then I really had this awakening.
- 28:50Robyn Miller: It was not my 1st awakening, an awakening when I was in my early thirties. And then I'm now I just turned 50 right. And so the work that I've done since that early thirties has really led me to understand. My partnership with my dad still exists, and we work together every day. It's just in a completely different manner than I would have ever
- 29:12Robyn Miller: imagined. You know.
- 29:14karen Loenser: Yeah. Yeah. And I started out as the Catholic girl of 6 kids with with Mom, who was very metaphysically Catholic. So she was the one who had our astrology done when we were young, and I love. I always tell the story about my uncles, who were priests sitting at one end of the table, and the astrologers on the other, and these 6 kids
- 29:33karen Loenser: in the middle, just drinking in the debate and conversation, and how that became part of my DNA as a seeker. So it's so interesting. That's why I keep saying like.
- 29:43karen Loenser: Don't be afraid to look back, because there's so much in those roots of who you are and who you came to be, that groundingness to the planet that really tells a story of who you are and what you're supposed to be, because Robin and I laugh all the time about how different our backgrounds are. And yet that has been sort of the very glue of our of our soul
- 30:05karen Loenser: creation, our soul, co-creation together, is being able to recognize and share all those
- 30:11karen Loenser: different aspects and points of view in in our conversations and on seeking center. So it's really, it's really fun. It's.
- 30:19Terri Broussard Williams: Yeah.
- 30:20karen Loenser: In essence it's really a fun place to be and and to explore.
- 30:25Terri Broussard Williams: Well, I want to share with people just how I began to slow life down and where I was, because I think that almost paints like the avatar of who might want to listen to these Podcast episodes, who might want to log on, to seeking center your website and your community. But for me in 2019 I was in this space where I just could not let my head and my heart, my body, catch up with life.
- 30:53Terri Broussard Williams: You know, I was on literally like 2 dozen nonprofit boards, had just retired from my last gala. I chaired like 9 gala events in 12 years.
- 31:06Terri Broussard Williams: and I was thinking about moving on from the organization where I was working. I worked at one international nonprofit, doing lobbying for almost 16 years, and it was like this place where I was, Terri from the American Heart Association instead of just Terri. And I could sense that. And I was like, No, I need. There's much more to my story than this. So I was starting to explore what it'd be like to leave.
- 31:31Terri Broussard Williams: But I was also working on a master's at an Ivy League, so there was a lot going on. You know. I was a wife, a sister, a leader in the community, this executive at work, and
- 31:44Terri Broussard Williams: just couldn't catch up with myself. And I remember driving home from work talking to my mom. I would always talk to my dad when my dad was alive. And then when he passed away, my mom became that person, and I still talk to my mom every single night at around 9 30, before I go to bed.
- 32:01Terri Broussard Williams: and I was like, you know, I just feel like I can't get it together. I'm driving, and I keep hearing car crashes, and she's like, why are you talking on the phone to me now? You should be paying attention to the road, and at the time my youngest brother, he was driving 45 min to and from work to get home every night, and I was like, will you tell him to slow down on the bridge? I have a feeling he's driving fast on the Chafalaya Bridge with just this 18 mile bridge across a swamp in Louisiana.
- 32:31Terri Broussard Williams: and she's like, well, it sounds like you need to be worried about yourself at rat lights.
- 32:34Terri Broussard Williams: And so, you know, days later, I'm at a party in Washington, DC. Lobbying, and there was a cast of characters in front of me. It's a story for another day, but I'm lobbying. And I felt this energy in this guy, and I was like we need to move. There's something not right with this guy. And so literally, we move over.
- 32:54Terri Broussard Williams: The next thing I know. Boom! I get hit in the head with a sofa.
- 32:59Terri Broussard Williams: He picks up a love seat and it comes down to the back of my head. I'm out of work for months. Couldn't use a phone. It was a whole thing, but my life changed, and for the 1st time since I was 16 I was forced to slow down, and literally, I have this line. I tell everyone it was September of 2019. I found myself at home, literally in the center of a couch. I can see it clear as day, trying to find the center of my life.
- 33:29Terri Broussard Williams: And so, you know, it's the 1st moment where I really had a very strong rebirth and push like literally God was like, I'm gonna knock some sense into that head like, literally.
- 33:41Terri Broussard Williams: But that was when you know, I began thinking like, how do I slow life down? It should not be this way. It should not feel this hard, it should not move this fast. My 1st reading with Tina Powers was January of 2020.
- 33:55Terri Broussard Williams: So right before the pandemic, and I also tease, I've always been an overachiever, or, I should say, recovering overachiever. Don't do that anymore. But I was like 3 months ahead of the pandemic. I was at home when everyone else was just getting started.
- 34:10Terri Broussard Williams: but that was when I started looking for information about what is out there. What are these whispers I'm getting? What is this intuition, this pool? Because, had I listened to that intuition that day in the car with my mom, I might not have had the accident.
- 34:25Terri Broussard Williams: And so, just as I sat on that sofa and literally in the center of the sofa.
- 34:31Terri Broussard Williams: trying to find the center of my life. People who are looking to be inspired, to slow down, looking for ways to grow, they might find themselves listening to your podcast network of people like me, or searching for guides in your community, you know, tell us exactly what is seeking center who might go there, and how might they find help.
- 34:59Robyn Miller: Oh, there's I love this question.
- 35:02Robyn Miller: I really do, because I'm so grateful and proud of what we've created over the last 6 years.
- 35:10Robyn Miller: and what that would mean for someone like you, because it makes me think about like with all my work in my almost 20 years with Oprah, we were all about. Pay attention, as you said before, to the whispers.
- 35:25Robyn Miller: because if you don't, a brick is going to come, hit you upside the head. That's what Oprah always says right she still to this day.
- 35:33Terri Broussard Williams: Proof right here.
- 35:34Robyn Miller: You literally had that happen to you. So let's just say that. But what we've created and what we've done over these last 6 years is we've created an ecosystem for somebody to come in, be inspired, and then take action and find support and community, and it has taken us the 6 years
- 35:57Robyn Miller: to figure out, and we continue to do so, how to meet people where they are, and provide them with resources in a way that they can understand in a way that that's not weird.
- 36:09Robyn Miller: that so that they then can go find their center right? It literally is a seeking center, and it is your place, as you said, in the intro, to seek your center, and what we've done is by finding so many different practitioners of all different types of modalities? Who are people that you would want to just hang out with, maybe grab a cup of coffee with.
- 36:35Robyn Miller: and because they're able to translate their their ability to you in a way that you can hear.
- 36:43Robyn Miller: that will help you facilitate healing in your own self so that you can make real change, and it is as we've already talked about in here connecting the dots. And so you can actually have that experience on your own. But you can also see it with all the different content that we are creating. So whether that are, whether they are podcasts.
- 37:05Robyn Miller: our own or within our network, or on Youtube and videos or in our community, we have a private community
- 37:13Robyn Miller: that we are constantly posting inspiration on a daily basis, a weekly basis. And we're also creating these experiences for people to partake so they can try them and see what resonates, because for every single person it's going to be different. And I'm going to let Karen talk, because I know she always comes in and fills in for me to explain all.
- 37:36karen Loenser: No, all of what you said is so true, and I think what we're most proud of in seeking center. When Robin and I were 1st starting the podcast it was really for our own journey. We wanted to have these experiences
- 37:47karen Loenser: personally. And so we talked to so so many people and what we found within. Now, our community of practitioners is that they're such real people who've gone through real life experiences right? So they are practicing literally what they preach and what they've experienced in their own world. And so this collective of practitioners now
- 38:10karen Loenser: seeking center is not about one of them. It's about all of them. It's about allowing people to come, and, as Robin said, find what's right for them. So it might be a Yoga practitioner. It might be someone who is
- 38:23karen Loenser: looking at Ayurvedic cooking right to just change their whole diet. Everybody's got a different path in. And what we love about seeking center is that it's not about one modality. It's not about one person. It is really, truly about the community, and that's the community of practitioners as well as the community of seekers that are there. So it's different in that sense. We're not promising that you're going to come in, and in 30 days be a transformed human being.
- 38:49Robyn Miller: It's.
- 38:49karen Loenser: Really about coming and experiencing and and going from one modality, as we were saying before connecting the dots, layering them, and learning as as you go.
- 38:57Robyn Miller: Well, and I just want to point out that for me, going back to what we talked about like in the beginning of this episode where Karen and I were at a place. What we like to say, our crossroads moment, where we didn't know what to do, and for every person that's different. It could be divorce. It could be a diagnosis. It could be a major loss in your life. There's so many different reasons you get to this point, and for me it was having different experiences
- 39:23Robyn Miller: with different spiritual modalities in somewhat of a short amount of time.
- 39:28Robyn Miller: That really was the catalyst for my change. So I met
- 39:34Robyn Miller: a psychic, a medium Cheryl, the Shaman astrologer, another medium, and all of these, and and there was actually even more. But all of these people ended up telling me basically the same thing.
- 39:49Robyn Miller: They didn't know each other. Only one knew me, Prior, and it made me pay attention and understand. There was something I wasn't that there was something that they were all seeing that I wasn't, and I wanted to understand what that meant. So it made me curious enough to go look into that, do my soul work, and have the confidence to make change in my life. And this is where seeking center was birth
- 40:11Robyn Miller: from that because I wanted to make sure other people could have that opportunity with authentic people. What I learned through my years at Oprah is that there are people that are coming that may be really good salespeople at what they do, but they may not have. You want to find people who have real integrity, and I think that was, is at the forefront of what we do is finding authentic
- 40:34Robyn Miller: people like you, Terri, who are willing to hold someone's hand as they walk through their journey and make change so that they can reach their greatest potential in this lifetime.
- 40:47karen Loenser: Yeah, yeah.
- 40:48Terri Broussard Williams: I love it so much.
- 40:51karen Loenser: Oh, that is good.
- 40:52karen Loenser: The other thing that I love so much about the community is, we now offer an opportunity for people to just get a sense of what these experience are like as well. So we do live sessions with these practitioners, where people can actually see, how does the medium work right? They don't have to go out there and spend all this money to be able to really see authentically how that experience actually works. And so if you're a new seeker, it gives that opportunity for you to just
- 41:22karen Loenser: just take a nibble in and look and decide for yourself. If that's the right experience for you. And I think when we 1st started out, that's what we were looking for, too. How do you break down these experiences so that.
- 41:32Terri Broussard Williams: Yeah.
- 41:33karen Loenser: And them, and not be afraid of them.
- 41:35Terri Broussard Williams: Yeah, I mean, I go back to the 1st time I met with Tina Powers. You know my dad passed in 2017, and it just kind of shook my entire world. But I have a kind of I call her my Jewish mentor some days other days my Jewish mom, Debbie, who told me, she said, I think for your grief you really need to see a medium. And she listened to me, you know.
- 41:59Terri Broussard Williams: for years. Talk about my dad. I met Debbie in 2016, and she actually filled in for my mom and dad at an award I got in 2017, a month before he passed.
- 42:10Terri Broussard Williams: My parents were slated to come, and then he got really sick all of a sudden, and Debbie literally sat in their seats. So she's just that way. She's family to me. So she introduced me to Tina Powers, and I actually was able to get in with ease because there's like a 6 month. Wait list for Tina. She's so good.
- 42:28Terri Broussard Williams: and you know I grew up going to Catholic school. We have priests and nuns in our family, you know my mom and dad. This is hilarious. They used to invite the priest over to their house on Fridays for happy hour my dad would sit with a priest and drink crown royal, and my mom would like cook, fried chicken and whatnot.
- 42:46Terri Broussard Williams: It was like awesome. But we are like Catholic Catholic, like my family built the church. It burned down my family, rebuilt it.
- 42:53Terri Broussard Williams: and I was just like, I don't know, you know, like this doesn't. I don't know if this is right, because it's what I was taught was right? Right? So I showed up. And you know my dad. Of course he knew where I was, and she's like there's a father figure here with 3 dogs, and I was like
- 43:13Terri Broussard Williams: what? And I just started crying immediately. But it was also this sense of relief. And you know we had 3 dogs that passed away before Facebook.
- 43:23Terri Broussard Williams: So there's no way.
- 43:24Terri Broussard Williams: Exactly. Well, that. And it's that kind of validation. Exactly.
- 43:28Terri Broussard Williams: Yes, and shortly after that I had another incident where.
- 43:32Terri Broussard Williams: you know, I was auditioning to be part of a program. I'll have to tell that story another day because it's wild, and I started telling, you know about my dad's passing, and how that allowed me to feel like for the 1st time, and I got goosebumps all over, but it felt like he was standing on my right side.
- 43:52Terri Broussard Williams: That was where I felt most of the sensation, and I later found out that the right side represents your father side of your life, you know. So I was like, there's no way. But so you know I love that there are these moments that validate for me that this is something that
- 44:12Terri Broussard Williams: allows me to be more open. But to the point you made earlier, Karen, I could return to, you know, sitting in my hometown Catholic church and hearing a song, and just the waterworks begin because I'm supposed to be right there and then it's where I feel centered and where I feel at home. So people will. As they listen to this, they'll get to hear stories of a mom
- 44:33Terri Broussard Williams: who talks about losing her child, but finding strength in religion, and eventually naming her son after someone in the Bible or her business after her son, and someone in the Bible, and just the beauty that comes from that. Or they might get to meet someone like Tina Powers, and she talks about how she's helped families find loss.
- 44:56Terri Broussard Williams: you know, pets and children. There are just so many fun episodes we have, and even some just about what it means to be mindful, and how you can bring more mindful moments to your workplace or yourself.
- 45:10Terri Broussard Williams: So there's a little bit of everything for everyone here.
- 45:14Terri Broussard Williams: But I think the thing that remains the same is in every episode. There's an opportunity for you to learn and to grow and to reconnect with self, so that no matter where you are in life or in the world, or in your career, or working at home, you can always strive to be that truest, truest version of yourself, because that feels really hard today.
- 45:38karen Loenser: Hmm.
- 45:39Robyn Miller: Yeah, I love that. It's so true. And
- 45:42Robyn Miller: when you are on this journey, you know, and you start to be more curious and to do some deeper work. You're going to be really surprised at what you find, because
- 45:54Robyn Miller: I myself now can tap into deceased loved ones. Right? Yeah. So when we talk about like, you know, not being able to Google things right? And so then, therefore you, you know that they're tapping into something I now can do that. And we all actually have the ability, if we, and in different ways, if we choose to really dig in and practice.
- 46:20Terri Broussard Williams: Yeah.
- 46:21Robyn Miller: And really.
- 46:22karen Loenser: I love so much about learning about these modalities.
- 46:26karen Loenser: So it's it's hard to say, almost. But it's like how special I am.
- 46:31karen Loenser: And there's something I mean in in religion. Of course you know that you're you're here for a purpose, and and all those things. But I think through some of these modalities like through astrology. You know there's a blueprint of Karen.
- 46:44Terri Broussard Williams: Yeah.
- 46:45Robyn Miller: Right, especially.
- 46:46karen Loenser: Oh, and
- 46:47karen Loenser: I didn't even know it until I really started unraveling all of those things. And I think for the 1st time in my life. It made me feel important that I'm here, and that there is something really specific for me to do. And then, more inspired than ever to learn what that was and not waste the not waste. But you know what I mean like. Really make sure that I know that I have tapped into the truest essence of who I'm here to be, and
- 47:16karen Loenser: I don't have to be Oprah or the President of the United States to be important here, that my light, my role. My impact is so important because I got to be here right now. I got I got the.
- 47:31Robyn Miller: Yeah, we always talk about this, you know, when we've talked to other practitioners and guides as well, they always say it is. This is a hard ticket to get. We are all miracles, and when we channel.
- 47:43Terri Broussard Williams: Yeah.
- 47:44Robyn Miller: Channeling spirit. It. It comes through almost every time you are a miracle. You are a miracle to Karen's point, and really we are so fortunate because the line to get to Earth school
- 47:57Robyn Miller: really, really long and hard to get into. This is a hard university. People.
- 48:03karen Loenser: We forget the whole.
- 48:04Robyn Miller: Forget, we.
- 48:06Terri Broussard Williams: I love it.
- 48:08karen Loenser: I had this moment where we were doing some past life regression and remembered being with Robin literally before. I can't. You know I'm 10 years older than she is, and so I had a head start, and I remember holding her hands and looking her at her and saying.
- 48:24karen Loenser: Don't forget, don't forget. Don't forget why we are here, and
- 48:30karen Loenser: I am so glad we remembered.
- 48:33Terri Broussard Williams: Yeah.
- 48:34karen Loenser: Glad when she sat next, you know, in front of me in Oprah's conference room, and I saw that light in her that we took the leap of faith to share our stories and made this connection. And it's so easy to miss those opportunities.
- 48:47Terri Broussard Williams: Yeah, your cells connected? Yeah, we reconnected.
- 48:51karen Loenser: Yeah, we're reconnecting. But we're open now to look for the signs. Look for the synchronicities. Look for that light in that person that just walked into the room. Why am I supposed to, you know? Am I supposed to get to know them like this? Is the inspiration that comes from seeking center.
- 49:07Robyn Miller: And use seeking center to then share them with each other. So we.
- 49:11Terri Broussard Williams: Yes.
- 49:12Robyn Miller: To one another. Oh, my God! I just had the craziest sign. I just had the craziest synchronicity, you know, like that is what's fun. We want people to feel comfortable in a safe space, so that they don't feel all cray, cray or weird.
- 49:28Robyn Miller: Say, like, Oh, my God! Do you think that this was my dad? Do you think this was my mom, you know, or what do you? Is this meant to be like those kinds of things. Those are the questions that we hope that we can all help each other answer for each other.
- 49:43Terri Broussard Williams: Well, I was going to say something, but you know what you know, as they say, because I had to like learn how to date again after I got divorced, but been dating the same person for over a year now. So it's a story for another time. But when I was 1st dating. They were like, you gotta leave them wanting more, you know. You got to leave them chasing you and like, so we gotta like drop in. Leave the conversation here so everyone can follow us. Listen to the next episode.
- 50:11Terri Broussard Williams: Yes, there's
- 50:13Terri Broussard Williams: so much good ahead, I am, I should say, and I want to say thank you to both of you. You've inspired me to say yes to storytelling again, and I'm so proud to be part of the seeking center umbrella, where there are more people like me telling stories, more people like you sharing what's on their heart. So I hope that everyone
- 50:32Terri Broussard Williams: well follow me. Roots and rebirth you guys at seeking center and know when you show up here. I'm showing up raw. Some days I might not have makeup. On some days I might have Mascara on my face when I say I want to be here with you the truest version of myself every time. That's what you're going to get. So I want you to come to us when you're, you know, on the plane, in the shower, walking the dog wherever you are. We are here
- 50:57Terri Broussard Williams: to be with you as your new spiritual bestie, and just continue to be on that journey with us. So follow us and stay tuned. There is so much more where all of this came from. Do you ladies have anything else you want to share before we sign off, for now.
- 51:14Robyn Miller: Oh, thank you so much for having us as a part of your inaugural episode for roots and rebirth. We are so excited and honored to be on the journey together, and to have roots and rebirth as part of the seeking center umbrella of all things, and having you, Terri, as part of the seeking center, collective and soul sister. And
- 51:42Robyn Miller: for us you can check out the seekingcenter.com to find out all about our different offerings, the different podcasts as well as our private community that just opened. And we kind of have our limited openings. So check that out. When you have a chance. We'd love to have you as part of the community.
- 52:02Terri Broussard Williams: I can't think of anything to add to that, because I'm saying.
- 52:07karen Loenser: I'm just so proud of you, Terri, like to follow this thread. It takes courage. It takes gusto to do the work that goes behind it. But you're amplifying other people's stories that need to be heard. And so, whether you've touched one, or I'm sure you'll touch thousands just like we touched you, who knew, like our story, would have touched you in this way. Think about the amplification that you'll be doing for everyone, and how they'll be able to do the same. So thank you.
- 52:35Terri Broussard Williams:
- 52:35Robyn Miller: Thanks to Sheryl Netzky.
- 52:37Terri Broussard Williams: Yes! Oh, my God! Yes, big virtual hug.
- 52:41Robyn Miller: Love you very much.
- 52:43Terri Broussard Williams: Is every Tuesday on all podcast networks. And Youtube, I will be every second and 4th Tuesday. So you can listen to both of us, we'll be as you for one. So with that I'm going to say thank you to all of you. Don't forget. We are all truly rooted in purpose, and our rebirths come where our passions lie, so we'll talk to you soon.
