- 4:41Hey, Merle, how you doing. I'm excited to be here tonight.
- 4:45Oh my gosh, thank you so much for being here. I've seen you
- 4:47on Dave Show so many times. It's always fun watching you guys interact and
- 4:53hearing all your stories about your road tripping across the I guess the United It's
- 4:58not just Canada but the United States, right, we do, Washington,
- 5:01Oregon, Idaho. Going to be in Montana in August. Everyone, What
- 5:08are y'all doing in Montana? Brothels? Investigating Brothels old eighteen hundreds? Like
- 5:16cowboys? Brothels? Oh Man say, is that is that your favorite thing
- 5:21to investigate? Or like old Western towns? They are I've become to really
- 5:28enjoy them. It's it's more of a wheelhouse here in the West. I've
- 5:32never gone out east where it's a lot older, but I do. I
- 5:36love them. I'm so connected to the to the Wild West. I had
- 5:41to have lived there in the previous life. I would say you probably did
- 5:45too, uh, and I had. I'd swear, like the highlight of
- 5:48my entire trip. And we had a lot of good times in Reno,
- 5:51but the highlight of my trip was going ghost hunting with you and the whole
- 5:56crew out there. I thought that just made the entire trip just like the
- 6:00bomb. Okay, it really did. And you you kind of let our
- 6:04team. Let's just say, like you and Melinda Leslie both had had a
- 6:10lot, a lot of input. You had all the equipment and stuff in
- 6:13it, and it made it super fun. Okay, super fun with a
- 6:16lot of activity. Yeah, it did. Like and I got to put
- 6:20hats off to the Bats of Belfry. That's the house team that does the
- 6:26ghost tours out in Virginia City, and they gave us a behind the tour
- 6:30all access to the wash ho Club where they let us use all the gear
- 6:35and see what we can get to the wash Hoo Club. Man, we
- 6:41went inside the Silver Queen. We we did it all and it was Noel's
- 6:46barden. I love how during the tour she was giving us all the history
- 6:50and all the who's who in the zoo, so to speak, information,
- 6:55and we got to apply that, especially when we were we went up to
- 6:59that court house and we had the spirit box and everything out, and we
- 7:02were getting so many different responses to our questions and and Melinda was indeed leading
- 7:09the charge on the questions up there, and it was awesome, Yeah,
- 7:15it was. It was actually kind of sad too. You know, whenever,
- 7:18whenever we get in locations like that, there's been a lot of death.
- 7:24Okay, I mean that's that's what we're doing. We're communicating with spirits,
- 7:27so people who passed over. But that city, that little town,
- 7:30that village of Virginia City was full of like death and shootouts, right shootouts
- 7:39and suicides. It was. And where we were investigating, like where you
- 7:44just showed that photo, they had what you ma call it not a scaffold,
- 7:50but the area where the hang people the tree. They had a tree
- 7:56there. I think it was right there too, where they where they had
- 7:59a guy for for wrongdoings like and just to be in this same area where
- 8:05that happened. Is it's pretty pretty into an energy rich it was. It
- 8:11was. Now I have some other picture. I think this is the that's
- 8:13not the courthouse. I can't see because I have my glasses on tonight.
- 8:16Okay, so, but but every every place just had it. It was
- 8:22beautiful, Okay. I was surprised at all the architecture there. It went
- 8:24from like rickety old wooden jacks to beautiful like lily Roman architecture and stuff.
- 8:31I mean, it was gorgeous out there. Very you could tell that it
- 8:35was very rich, very rich in history, very rich in history. And
- 8:39the main place that we focused on when we first got there was the was
- 8:43Show Club, right made famous by the Ghost Adventures crew. I think I'm
- 8:50yea the Wash Show Club. That was definitely on my bucket list. I
- 8:54had no clue that when I would be going there, but here we are.
- 8:58Dave had announced doing a uh A Reno a Reno fan party, and
- 9:05I twisted, as I'm hard to do a side trip to Virginia City because
- 9:09I thought it would be awesome for the listeners and US hosts to to experience
- 9:15such a cool historic place and do a ghost hunt because I know a lot
- 9:18of the times we experience a lot of the et stuff and we go on
- 9:22all the ETI side missions I like to call them at these events. But
- 9:28it's cool to have to do a ghost one and have people kind of walk
- 9:31in walk in my shoes for a night. Oh yeah, well it was
- 9:35fun. We were glad to do it. And you know, I in
- 9:39my cryptied field research, we do encounter some spirits, okay when we're out
- 9:43there, and I actually use my ghost hunting equipment when I'm out in the
- 9:48field doing cryptid research. So of course I want to ask you at some
- 9:52point if you've ever come across any en cryptids when you're ghost hunting, because
- 9:56I've come across ghosts when I'm crypted hunting. I may come across a few
- 10:00in my time too. Okay, well we're gonna have we're gonna have to
- 10:05do another show together for sure, with your with your cryptied stories. We
- 10:09can probably talk about some of those tonight. But first let's let's get into
- 10:13this Washow club. Okay, and big Dog, thank you so much for
- 10:18that super sticker. That's amazing, he says, ur so thank you.
- 10:24Love it. You're very much loved and appreciated over here off the trails.
- 10:28Merle. Okay, so you got fans over here, Okay, I want
- 10:33to be back. Oh yeah, you better come back. Okay. Well,
- 10:37let's let's talk about the Washow Club a little bit, because the history
- 10:39behind that is it's a little smooth. It can be kind of dark,
- 10:43right, it is so so and then that show, the wash Show Club
- 10:46was a millionaire's club. And what happened was all all the prominent people of
- 10:52Virginia City that the silverpeat like the silver miners, the owners of all the
- 10:58of the elite businesses and all of that, they all had a membership to
- 11:03the Washoe Club. And it was where the gentleman went to smoke, playpool,
- 11:09drink. There would have been ladies of the night there for if you
- 11:15needed that. And and that's that's basically what it was. It was basically
- 11:18a boys club, men's club. And they had that creepy cellar in the
- 11:24back though, right, And that was and I closed myself in there and
- 11:30turned the light off and did like a one minute investigation when Melinda and the
- 11:33others were talking in the other room, and I was terrified, where were
- 11:37you, we'll see I think that this may be there she is. That's
- 11:41that's the seller. There's Melinda right there. Yeah, that's the backsellar.
- 11:46Yeah. You know. Of all the rooms in that that whole club,
- 11:48the scariest place was the bathroom. It was literally the bathroom. I did
- 11:54not like that here. Well, I just didn't like it. I felt
- 11:56like I was being watched. I felt like there was somebody breathing on top
- 12:00of me in there. So it was, yeah, it was. I
- 12:03did have to go use the restroom once when I was there, and I
- 12:07did not like it at all. I was trying to hurry. Okay,
- 12:11it's a goal of mine. Would because you can rent the Washout Club,
- 12:20Like the night we were there, there was a team coming and that rented
- 12:22it for the night, and that would be something I would want to do
- 12:26because you get all access upstairs to all the rooms as well as downstairs to
- 12:31investigate till your heart's content. Oh wow. Yeah. Well they also have
- 12:37that really strange staircase going up to the top floor and I don't know,
- 12:41it was made famous by the Ghost Adventures crew, Okay, and that that's
- 12:46like my favorite. If I watched Ghost Hunting I'm watching Ghost Adventures on television,
- 12:50me too. And now is this the same place where they had the
- 12:54two by four that went flying through the air or is that a different location?
- 12:58I can't remember. That was Apache Junction. That's for next year.
- 13:07Okay, perfect, the Goldfield Hotel was where that happened. Okay, all
- 13:11right, thank you for the clarification. Now, I definitely want to go
- 13:16we want to go there. Okay, well, but but you got you
- 13:20you usually get some really good, I want to say, evident, but
- 13:24good results when you're out there. Do you think that the ghost are attracted
- 13:28to you because you're so not You're very nice, ma, like, you
- 13:35know, taunting them and stuff. Do you No, I'm straight up respect
- 13:41so my style of investigating, and I'm pretty passionate of how I do this
- 13:45because I think it's the right way to do it. But uh, I
- 13:50like to talk to the curator, the owner of the properties. I like
- 13:54to learn about the properties. I like to know the deaths. I like
- 13:56to know the lore. I like to know every person that is said to
- 14:01haunt the place. And once I know those names, I like to research
- 14:05those people. And then before I even I even go into the place,
- 14:13I have a curator introduce me at the location to the ghosts, and I
- 14:18find that goes a long ways, because if somebody came in my house saying
- 14:22knock three times and tell me you're here, I'm not gonna be overly impressed
- 14:26because I don't know who you are. And so that that respect and ethics
- 14:31go a long way with communicating with the ghosts and the spirits. In my
- 14:35opinion, Hey, that's a good point. That's the way that I look
- 14:39at it with cryptids too. It's like we go out there and I always
- 14:43have a very healthy dose of respect whenever I'm out there doing my research.
- 14:48The same goes with the ghost hunting. You just don't want well. But
- 14:52then again, I was going to see, you don't want things following you
- 14:54home, but manager too nice? They what do they follow you home?
- 14:56Anyways? If you haven nice people put up boundaries, But no I have,
- 15:05Uh what was I going to tell you? I have a creepy story
- 15:07for you. Actually, before I started doing their introducing myself with the curator,
- 15:13so the known person to the ghosts, we were investigating a place in
- 15:18Merit, British Columbia called the Bailey House and with my job. My job
- 15:24D day job is enforcement, and so sometimes when I ask questions, I
- 15:30can become kurt or very direct. And I was doing the direct thing that
- 15:35night, and the medium that was with me it was like, Mike,
- 15:37you need to chill. I think the spirits think you're coming off a little
- 15:41too aggressive, but that wasn't my intent. And I felt a hand grab
- 15:48my throat and squeeze and it was ghost, a ghost hand, like an
- 15:54ice cold hand, and I couldn't bat it away. And after that,
- 16:00I tucked tail and ran out of that house. I puked in the flower
- 16:03bush because I was over done. And I actually contemplated ghost unting for about
- 16:10a month after that. Of like, if this is something I really want
- 16:12to do, I would I would question it too, especially when you're getting
- 16:18sick. I don't. I don't. I don't mind getting feeling like I
- 16:22have been overpowered by some kind of energy, especially if it's a dark kind
- 16:26of energy. And that's where like I really thought about it. Of maybe
- 16:32I was being a little bit of a prick talking to them, but so
- 16:37I just am a lot softer in the hole. Introducing yourself with with respectful
- 16:42intent is kind of like number one, Marty have fun and Virginia Marty's the
- 16:51chat. Hey Marty, it's good to see you. Yeah. We we
- 16:53had a nice, big group, and I know it was a lot of
- 16:56fun. I know, I got separated from the group at some point.
- 16:59I wandered off and I met back up and it was I mean we went
- 17:04all over that town though, right, I mean it was like, we
- 17:08went to the courthouse, we were at bars. They even have like twenty
- 17:12four hour casino machines in some of those places, yep, So it's easy.
- 17:18It's easy to get lost in there. And then after Reno, like
- 17:22when everyone went home, I stayed for four days after okay, and what
- 17:27I wanted to hear about, Like, this is what I've been dying to
- 17:32hear about, alas, please, So I stayed for two nights at the
- 17:37Silver Queen Hotel and then I stayed for two nights at the Gold Hill Hotel.
- 17:44And yeah, and it's funny because the first night, Brad, who
- 17:49was with us, he's like and and A They're like, can we come
- 17:55up and go stunt with you for a night? So I'm like absolutely,
- 17:57So they drove up and then like drove home after and it's kind of neat
- 18:03because an as a medium and I saw her. She came. So I
- 18:08was staying in Room eleven of the Silver Queen Hotel, and and the lore
- 18:14of room eleven is a lady of the night and alive herself in the bathtub
- 18:21there. Okay is this for? Okay, Charlie, Catherine's in the chat.
- 18:27This is Charlie. Is that the Silver Queen Hotel. They had the
- 18:33carpet everywhere and the weird ceilings with the bars on them. We were there,
- 18:37Okay, that's hey Charlie watching and Okaytherine's here. So what happened?
- 18:44I didn't know that there was an a living there. Yeah, And so
- 18:49it happened in the in the bathtub. And so when an A and Brad
- 18:56came in my room, she kind of sat in the bathtub and started crying
- 19:04and holding her stomach, and I was like, what's happening here? But
- 19:08I remember she's a medium. And then she started communicating her name's Rose and
- 19:18communicating as Rose and telling these stories of her being sad, her waiting for
- 19:26her lover. And then a more aggressive spirit came in, which was a
- 19:32male who I guess looks out for Rose. So there's some spirit drama going
- 19:36on, and it was just interesting to watch like a psychic medium do that
- 19:42sort of stuff, speaking to the spirits. And I haven't gone through my
- 19:48audio or my video yet. I'm going to be putting out a video of
- 19:52my of my road trip through Virginia City of all my stops. And it
- 19:59was really the first night I woke up and something woke me up in my
- 20:03room. It was just me and I heard footsteps outside of the room.
- 20:08But could that have been people? Probably maybe, but that is quote one
- 20:14of the tells in the middle of the night. Uh oh. And then
- 20:18the second night was it was was kind of quiet. But the second night
- 20:22we had a side mission and uh I rented Mackie Mansion for three hours by
- 20:30my cycle. Brad game with me. So it's just the two of us
- 20:33for three hours. Okay, what is Mackie Manchin. So Mackie Manchin is
- 20:40uh John Mackie Well live there and he was the overseer of all of the
- 20:48silver and all of that sort of stuff, and he was he was a
- 20:52rich man. His wife lived there. They had two kids, and they
- 20:56had a maid. Was the maid. I'm going to go through the pictures.
- 21:03I can't see them very just me in the red, Me and the
- 21:06red. Okay, you in the red. We'll let's see. No,
- 21:11that's not it. There's back you mansion that's okay, beautiful, and ghost
- 21:15of Adventures, any show that's on TV's being there, ghost Hunters, Ghost
- 21:19Adventures, Destination Fear, Ghost Club, Paranormal, they've all done their I'm
- 21:27just bucket list. And it was quite at first, but like the tour
- 21:34guide there, he was amazing. He gave us a thorough tour of the
- 21:37whole place, all the ghost stories, all the said lore, talked about
- 21:41all the people that lived there. And so that was about twenty minutes.
- 21:47So we had about two and a half hours just to ourselves to investigate the
- 21:51place. And I was going to do it alone, but Brad had come
- 21:55up. I thank the gods. I don't know if I would have had
- 21:57the fortitude to do it alone, to be honest. And we were up
- 22:06in missus Mackie's room because back in the Victorian days, if a male the
- 22:11husband had a room and the female had a room, it's kind of a
- 22:15posture saying that you're loaded. So they were so that each had their own
- 22:19room, and when I was in missus Mackie's room, I had remembered with
- 22:25the tour guide said. The tour guide said that the maid that's there gets
- 22:27really mad if people make a mess, and she will interact with you.
- 22:33So I'm like, fine, So I throw my book on the ground willie
- 22:37nilly with no care. Brad had a napkin. He tore it up and
- 22:41threw it on the ground. Oh gosh, yeah. And then all of
- 22:45a sudden it gets cold, and Brad and I are looking at each other
- 22:48and I'm like, I forget her name now starts with an H. But
- 22:56I told her that don't worry. I'm going to clean it up before we
- 22:59leave. Don't worry. And then I had my EMF candle, so it
- 23:04looks like a Victorian style candle, but it goes off to EMF and it's
- 23:12like a yes no device. And I'm like to the maid, are you
- 23:18upset or no? I doesn't upset. I says, does it annoy you?
- 23:21We made a mess? Boom it goes on. I was like,
- 23:25oh, here we go, and I said, do you believe that we're
- 23:29going to clean it up? It didn't didn't respond. Then I'm like,
- 23:34are you going to make us clean it up? Boom it goes off again.
- 23:41And just talking about it wasn't disrespectful. It was more of a trigger
- 23:45object because that was her thing. Everything needed to be in order all the
- 23:49time. So we we pardon, that's her job, right, Yeah,
- 23:56we don't want to make a job. Sucks thinking about that, Like if
- 24:00you had a job that I measureed, if you had a job that you
- 24:03just didn't like, and like you're doing that job on the other side forever
- 24:07and ever in a loop, like uh, all these dists coming through with
- 24:11all their objects and but yeah, no, it was interesting. We had
- 24:18a good, yes, no reactionary conversation with her for like fifteen minutes,
- 24:23and it was kind of neat, like obviously subjective because we're using ghost tools,
- 24:30but like and every question we asked where related it would go off and
- 24:37Brad was a bit of a skeptic and you just see him being like,
- 24:41how is this happening. It's kind of cool to have somebody that doesn't have
- 24:45the field experience of in ghosts like ghost hunting, just as like a nice
- 24:49validation of what's happening. Yeah, well, I mean there it's proof that
- 24:56there's life on the other side. It's proof and really that's kind of what
- 25:02all what we all want to know, Like we ultimately want to know what
- 25:06happens when we die, at least I do. And that's what got me
- 25:08into ghost hunting, okay and communicating because I had so many people that I
- 25:14loved who have passed away. Yeah, okay, so I guess that's why
- 25:18we do this. Stu was asking about an EMF candle. Absolutely, an
- 25:23EMF candle if you go to the ghost Stop website and look up, it's
- 25:29basically it's an EMF meter essentially, but it's it's a candle. It's a
- 25:33wax candle with a little light in it. And I like it in these
- 25:37type of places like Victorian eighteen hundreds places, because you bring an EMF meter,
- 25:42they're going to be what is that witchcraft? But if you bring in
- 25:45a candle, I feel they can relate with the time period easier and better.
- 25:52Oh yeah, that's a great idea because yeah, I mean because you
- 25:57wonder about that, like we have such modern technology now that they didn't have
- 26:02back then, so like that, how would they even know what to do
- 26:03with it? When it comes to the stuff that we have during like an
- 26:08iPhone, you know, really any kind of like a cell phone or digital
- 26:12in digital anything. And I oftentimes I bring with me, like I'll bring
- 26:21objects from the period, like I have these old ambrotype photos like these down
- 26:27there. We go, okay, and these are eighteen sixties, and I
- 26:33think seeing a photo like this looks better than looking at a photo of like
- 26:37something modern. And I just feel if I can give them something they're familiar
- 26:41with, maybe it brings trust to talk to me a little little easier,
- 26:47or want to even talk to me because I'm relating. Yeah, what is
- 26:51that called a trigger object? Yeah? Trigger object like that. Yeah,
- 26:56and it's it's respectful, Okay, respect respect big thing. Now there's something
- 27:00else that was a trigger object that I remember from being there, and that
- 27:04was the I know we're probably not supposed to say this on YouTube, but
- 27:07the unliving table. Okay, yes, I mean, we don't have to
- 27:12talk about that now. I mean, because I know you probably have more
- 27:15to tell us. But I was just thinking about this. As far as
- 27:18the trigger object goes, that goes, that's a big triggering object. I
- 27:21would assume we could also we don't have to call it that. We can
- 27:23call it the cursed table, the cursed table. Yes, So whoever owned
- 27:30this table basically departed, we can use that word. They lost their fortunes,
- 27:38their houses. There's like three people known to lose their businesses over a
- 27:44hand of whatever they played on there poker. And whoever owns it doesn't farewell,
- 27:52owns it and uses it. So as you can see in this photo,
- 27:56it's under a glass protection. So that is in the Delta Saloon casino,
- 28:06and when I was there on my own, it was actually open as
- 28:10they were renovating it. So I went over there and introduced myself and I
- 28:15low key begged them to let me in for two minutes. How you got
- 28:22in there that place of like Fort Knox, Yeah, I guess. I
- 28:26talked to the right person who was one of the owners, I believe,
- 28:29and she brought me over there and showed me the table, and I didn't
- 28:33take I don't have any photos that I shared with you, but the walls
- 28:40also has stories of the different owners and about the table as well. It's
- 28:45god of neat. Yes, I don't want to play a game of poker
- 28:49on that table though, No, really, it's really kind of sad.
- 28:53And I think it was like the people that were playing, like the people
- 28:56who own the table. People would come in and they start winning so much
- 29:00money they didn't have the money to pay them. Okay, so one one
- 29:03instance, it was like seventy thousand dollars, which would be like millions of
- 29:07dollars today, right, and so he just ended up taking himself out because
- 29:11he was like, I can't pay this. So it's really tragic. Strange
- 29:18lore as well. Yeah, that would be something i'd want to investigate,
- 29:22just the energy of the table, But then I wouldn't want to put myself
- 29:26in harm's way. I guess, Oh yeah, no, definitely not.
- 29:30You don't want to be the owner of that table and definitely don't want to
- 29:33play poker on it. But but there's I was really sad that I didn't
- 29:38get to see a shootout while I was there, Like I wanted to see
- 29:41some wild West Cowboys shootouts and stuff. So maybe next time next time?
- 29:47Yeah yeah, well, oh go ahead, Oh no, all right,
- 29:56you're right. I was going to say the first day we are there,
- 30:00there was a fight at the Red Dog, and I was like, let's
- 30:02set the tone. Oh yeah, I could say, had a biker gangs
- 30:06there and stuff that was kind of awesome. I was selling it. Yeah.
- 30:11Oh my gosh, okay, well did you did you so? Weren't
- 30:15you planning to go to a old miners cabin as well? Or was that
- 30:18one of the hotels that you went to, because it seemed like you were
- 30:19going to go to a miner's cabin where there was a bad mining accident and
- 30:23they put all the bodies in the yard of that house. Did you go?
- 30:27Yeah? I stayed at the Gold Hill Hotel for two nights. Oh
- 30:32that's it. Nobody else was there. Oh gosh, okay, tell tell
- 30:37the audience about the history behind that, because there was like a horrible mining
- 30:42accident and they put all the dead bodies in the yard, right they did.
- 30:47So it was the Yellowjacket mine and it had what happened was somebody had
- 30:56lit fire. Sorry, there was one of the miners lights and it had
- 31:04fell over and ignited explosives which carved everything down and killed and trapped a ton
- 31:14of miners. And yeah, so the miners they brought up, they were
- 31:18stored in the cabin there. I didn't sleep in the cabin. I stayed
- 31:26at the I stayed in the in the hotel on the property. Oh man,
- 31:30that would have been really scary. It was really scary and uh and
- 31:34so I was I was actually kind of worried about you. I said a
- 31:37little prayer for you. I was like, Okay, just you need some
- 31:40extra protection when you're out there, because thank you. It seemed really it
- 31:44seems like it could be pretty negative, okay, like kind of darker,
- 31:48like dark energy with some of this stuff, especially with the drinking, the
- 31:52gambling, the prostitution that was going on, ye, the unlivings, you
- 31:57know, it just seems really dark. And it seems like I remember there
- 32:01being some kind of like underground where I don't know if it was like Asian
- 32:06workers that came there, people that were working in the mines that they lived
- 32:09like underneath the town or something, if I can remember correct, they did
- 32:13in Virginia City. Let they lived underneath. So we had the boardwalk we
- 32:17walked on right and underneath was the area where they walked and they had their
- 32:22stores and sleeping areas, which was kind of sad. It is kind of
- 32:29sad. It is. We were talking about having a duel before we turned
- 32:34the Live on tonight, Right, can you imagine, I mean, be
- 32:39challenged to a duel back then, I mean just by some drunk dude out
- 32:44a saloon on the road. You'd be like, okay, well I'm either
- 32:45about to die or I'm about to hurt somebody. That sucks. I mean,
- 32:49I wonder how common that was for people to challenge you to a duel.
- 32:52Well, I walked through the Virginia City Graveyard and it was one of
- 32:55the biggest ones I've ever been in. So really it was massive. Like
- 33:02they had a Mason section they had, they had Ladies of the Night section,
- 33:08they had a Catholic section they had. It was huge, the amount
- 33:13of people there. Oh my gosh. You know, I didn't know that
- 33:17they were divided up like that now. I remember driving in. We drove
- 33:21in, I saw the cemetery on the side of the hill. It was
- 33:23beautiful, but it didn't look that big from where we were, where our
- 33:28vantage point was. I wasn't so my tender Canadian skin walked through the Virginia
- 33:35City high noon sunlight and I'm like, I didn't think it would be this
- 33:39long. Yeah, they had like a fireman section, they had like like
- 33:46some of the miners were buried there. Some of the miners were buried in
- 33:51the Gold Hill Cemetery as well. And okay, wow, well I wonder
- 33:58I wonder what the gold mines had and all the minds and all the minerals
- 34:01and the metals. I wonder if that is a conductor for some of this
- 34:05paranormal activity out there. Oh, think it is. I think the amount
- 34:10of life that has come through Virginia City and the whole surrounding areas, the
- 34:15amount of tragedy that's come through there, the amount of yeah, the minerals,
- 34:20especially the silver around there, all the ore, the copper. You
- 34:22can see how like dark the sand is, so there's so much, so
- 34:28much mineral in there. Yeah, oh yeah, Well, see we're finding
- 34:32or I'm making connections. I don't know about everybody else, but I've been
- 34:36making connections to the gold mines and bigfoot sightings, a lot of there's a
- 34:42lot of cryptid activity around interests to old abandoned and I guess working gold mines
- 34:47these days, so especially of in Alaska. Well that's interesting. Yeah,
- 34:53I don't know if it's like a place where they have like portals or maybe
- 34:58that's where the Sasquatch lived. I mean, I don't know, but there's
- 35:00a connection. Yeah, wow, Yeah, And I was I was wondering,
- 35:07like I guess, I was just wondering, like if the ghosts are
- 35:08attracted to those things too, Like if there's what's going on on that land?
- 35:13You know what is the Is there a conductor? Is there's something like
- 35:16a moss to a flame, you know? To these gold mines, it
- 35:20has to be all the unsteady, all the unsteadiness of all the mining they've
- 35:24done there, all the all the gold or all the silver they've they've obtained,
- 35:30all the silver they want to obtain, the greed, the wealth,
- 35:32the the one upping each other, and the backhandedness of taking silver and the
- 35:39mining claims, and and I just think there's a lot of energy involved in
- 35:45that. Yeah. Have you ever gone deep into a mine to do some
- 35:49ghost honey? I have not, but I want to a that kind of
- 35:52scares me. What What about caves? Have you ever gone into a cave
- 35:58to do some ghost honey? I've done some big footing around to some caves
- 36:02up here, but I I you know where i'd want to go with the
- 36:06Bellwitch Caves in Tennessee. Oh, I'm planning to go there soon. Okay.
- 36:12So yeah, Actually, John Bell's fifth great grandson is a friend,
- 36:16I guess because he's I mean, I've only met him online, Okay,
- 36:19I know, but he's Uh, he's been on my show once. I
- 36:22could keep up my show once, and I've done some shows with him too,
- 36:25over on Esoteric Atlanta. So yeah, super cool to super cool dude.
- 36:30And so they say that if you go into that cave and you pick
- 36:35up a rock and you take it home, you're cursed, completely cursed.
- 36:39That's why I was very careful not to pick up anything from Virginia City,
- 36:44Merle. I didn't pick up anything. I made sure there were no rocks
- 36:47stuck in my shoes. Okay. I did not want any courts. I
- 36:52did not want anything from that city to come home with me except for some
- 36:57home and some antiques home from Virginia City. Oh you got antiques I did?
- 37:01That might have some energy with it. I think it does. Thank
- 37:07Yeah about some of those photos like the one I just showed you, and
- 37:10uh what else? Oh, I found a post mortem Victorian photo in Virginia
- 37:17City that I had to buy. Oh yeah, that means a death photo.
- 37:22Right. It's a little girl she's dead in it and with her mom.
- 37:28Was her mom deceased too? Yeah, you can see she's propped up
- 37:34on something because she's standing in it because they used to like strap their waists
- 37:40on too, like a stand. And yeah, that's so sad. I've
- 37:45seen those pictures too, I've seen them. People in the chat are saying,
- 37:50Tommy Knockers. Okay, Marty's in here, Marty's with this out there.
- 37:53Yes, they were advertising Tommy knocks So I went to the Virginia City
- 37:57History Museum and they were talking about Tommy. I think I took a photo
- 38:00of Tommy Knocker's sign there. That would be to investigate next time. Yeah,
- 38:08well, we talk about Tommy Knockers on my channel and on my shows
- 38:12a lot. I've done a couple of shows where we talk about Tommy Knockers,
- 38:15and it's a real thing. I mean, there's even a video of
- 38:19an alleged Tommy Knocker in a cave. Looks like the little little like small
- 38:23men, I guess, like just a little small men. But yes,
- 38:28you're supposed to. I think you're supposed to take some sort of an offering
- 38:30to them and they'll help you. Okay, they can either help you or
- 38:34hurt you, okay, but usually they're helping to get you out of them
- 38:37before the cave the mind collapses. Yeah, I don't know. It is
- 38:43interesting. That's just another weird paranormal phenomenon that happens it places like gold mines
- 38:49in probably Virginia City. There's probably a lot of them everywhere. Yeah,
- 38:54yeah, you're very brave, though. I would not want to spend the
- 38:58night anywhere by myself there gold That was the first time I did. I
- 39:02did a mission by myself actually, so gold Hill, two nights alone.
- 39:07Not much happened. I got to be honest. I heard really loud footsteps
- 39:13coming towards my room and there's nobody there because you could blow on the floor
- 39:20and it would creak. But I that's it because it's old. But you
- 39:22could hear the doom, doom, doom. Oh silent, listen. I
- 39:27did buy an antique mirror as well. Oh you did. That was gonna
- 39:31be dangerous here we are. Yeah, there was one one time when I
- 39:38was in my early twenties, okay, lot half a lifetime ago, and
- 39:45we I used to when I worked my former life, when I worked in
- 39:49the government and stuff, we did conferences a lot had meetings all over the
- 39:52state of Georgia, and we went down to a place called Planes, Georgia,
- 39:57and there's this old hotel there. I think it's called the Winchester or
- 40:00the wind I can't remember. It starts with the ws the windsor I guess
- 40:04the Windsor Hotel. And it's an old, haunted hotel. And I did
- 40:07not like that hotel staying there. At night, I heard people walking around
- 40:13at night like and there was nobody out there, wow and uh and I
- 40:16felt like somebody's walking in my room all night, like all night like,
- 40:20I kept waking up because there was somebody in my room. That's creepy.
- 40:23Yeah, it was bad. It was bad. It was really creepy.
- 40:27I didn't sleep very much there. But yeah, no, every place I
- 40:31go to, I always have to get an antique. Like all the photos
- 40:35you see behind me, uh huh are all from from journeys and I just
- 40:40put them up at a creepy corner in my living room. But now my
- 40:44living room has exploded into like a little Victorian manner. I love that You're
- 40:51like you see, like when I go places and I do cryptid investigations every
- 40:53home where there every every nook and cree any of my vehicle. There's courts,
- 41:01okay, boxes I have everywhere. I just I don't even where to
- 41:06put it anymore because I have so much courts. So I feel you on
- 41:09that. It's like mementos absolutely and hopefully it doesn't have any attachments to it.
- 41:16Now do you do you think that any of those objects have had attachments?
- 41:20And is your house haunted? Yes, well that's something I have a
- 41:24beholder so that the female rate here that I'm pointing to her I was talking
- 41:35to. Uh. There's a team called Ghost Club Paranormal and one of the
- 41:39investigators, her name is Mandy Sue And actually I interviewed them on my segment
- 41:45of s R with Dave I think two months ago, and she was saying
- 41:50that the female in that photo is it is haunting my house. And funny
- 41:59we say that because I had another a couple of friends here one night too.
- 42:02They're investigators as well, and she's she's she's kind of like a medium
- 42:07and she's like, who's the Victorian lady that goes up and down your hallway
- 42:10in a protect protective manner, like protecting me? And I'm like well maybe
- 42:20it's her. Well, as long as she's not she's not hurting anybody,
- 42:24I guess it's okay. Right, it's kind of weird maybe maybe, Well
- 42:29we'll deal with that sooner than later. Oh yeah, Now, now you
- 42:32you have children, right, so I have a daughter. You have a
- 42:36daughter. Does your daughter pick up on anything that's paranormal, especially in her
- 42:40house? Nor zero? Her room's protected, like I don't want nothing,
- 42:47and even look at her room, like, I'm very protective of my daughter,
- 42:52and yeah, it's just my living room that has stuff, and like
- 42:55the rest of my house is normal. So other than that, yeah,
- 43:00no, it's it's okay, that's awesome. If it wasn't her, then
- 43:06then I would everything would be gone. So oh yeah, well I don't
- 43:09know about you. You know, my son goes out and does some CRYPTI
- 43:13investigating with me. Does your daughter ever a ghost? Hut? She does.
- 43:15She's come with me three times. We went camping down to Oregon two
- 43:21years ago, two summers ago, and she's like, we went to Fort
- 43:24Stevens, which is an old military base and the Civil War era, and
- 43:30there's still barracks you can go walk through and all that stuff, all like
- 43:34underground layers and that, and it's a state park. So she's like,
- 43:38Dad, can we ghost hunt? I'm like, yes, yes we can.
- 43:43And so I'm like, what you got to do? We just had
- 43:46an iPhone. I didn't bring any ghost stuff because we don't do that on
- 43:50these trips. It's daddy daughter camping, and so I give her my phone
- 43:55with my gimbal and I'm like, okay, go, I'll be behind you.
- 44:00And then I'm like, don't forget, say who you are and all
- 44:02that sort of stuff and ask a ton of questions. And when we were
- 44:07listening to our footage, we heard a high there at the beginning, and
- 44:12just to see her face go, that wasn't you, I'm like no,
- 44:15So that was kind of cool. Oh wow, that's awesome. Somebody in
- 44:20the chat we got rain here says she just want behind you, Marle.
- 44:23Oh oh, actually she's playing with me here. I'm not going to rain
- 44:28here. I'm listening if she is. I don't know, I don't know.
- 44:34I don't know. Rys Ran says, Marle, you should do a
- 44:39live EVP session in your living room while we're here and see if she answers
- 44:44you. I don't know here what's your name? Put the microphone up for
- 44:53it. Okay, y'all, listen, we'll do her name. Are you
- 45:04attached to one of the photos? Are you protective? Tell us your name?
- 45:28All right? Uh, there's multiple people saying they see somebody back there.
- 45:32They're thinking they're seeing somebody. All right, this just turned into a
- 45:36scary show tonight, Earle. I'm living here, I know, I know.
- 45:42All right, let's not encourage it, y'all, because I mean,
- 45:44I don't want I don't want you to not be able to sleep tonight.
- 45:46Though. Drama for the next show, good drama, trauma, build it
- 45:52up. Yeah, but what are your listeners? What do they see?
- 45:55Like? Honest question. If people are seeing things, I'd love to know
- 45:59what they see because I do have a team scheduled to come investigate here this
- 46:05week. No, my daughter's not here. Okay, maybe they were seeing
- 46:09what they look like your daughter. Maybe maybe that's what it did. Nobody's
- 46:14here. Uh. Tawa says, I don't get a bad vibe. I
- 46:19think she's just chilling. I think she's just chilling. But is it her?
- 46:23Is it her? I don't know. Okay, Rain was just joking.
- 46:30By the way, Rain says she was just joking. Yeah, okay,
- 46:32but but I mean this, It is part of being a ghost hunter.
- 46:37You do can You can't get hitchhikers though, to come home with you
- 46:39from an investigation. Now, do you take precaution when you get done with
- 46:44the investigation to kind of shut it down and say, like, don't follow
- 46:49me home, y'all? How do you do that? I do? So
- 46:53I had been I've been followed home before. This was actually from one to
- 46:58eight mile Rand by Dave's house, and I had an attachment from I got
- 47:04two attachment stories for you, and I had to have somebody clear my house
- 47:09from that. But yes, I normally I'm may Tea, Like my heritage
- 47:15is Mati, so that that's like French indigenous. So I believe in sage,
- 47:20sweet grass and cedar, and I burn that all the time. I
- 47:22burn that in my house. I burned that to spunge me. When I
- 47:25bring antiques home, I basically hot box all the antiques before I bring them
- 47:30in the house to purify them. And I just I don't like negative stuff,
- 47:36especially in my own home. Like I know that we're in ghost hunting,
- 47:38and I know it's playing with fire sometimes but like I'm very I think
- 47:45I am cautious and respectful. Oh yeah, well, I know you're respectful.
- 47:51I could. I know I've done a ghost hunt with you now and
- 47:54and so yeah, I mean I've had ghosts follow me home before. I've
- 47:58had I've lived in a haunted house before. That was not it was scary.
- 48:02Okay, it was pretty scary where I would come home at night and
- 48:07there would be like a blanket of black flies on my ceiling in the hallway.
- 48:12It was horrible. Yeah, and let's see, I had a black
- 48:16mass like a cloud float out of my bedroom one night and it blew past
- 48:22me and it shoved me down into my kitchen cabinets and then it kept going
- 48:25past me. Yeah. Here's what I don't tell very often, but with
- 48:30my job, I unfortunately see a lot of dead people, like real ones.
- 48:35And we were at a property and I was training an officer at the
- 48:39time, and whatever we got done, what we were doing. And when
- 48:45I leave my work, I h everything was great. How's your day at
- 48:50work? It was fantastic. I could see the most grossest, horrible thing.
- 48:52Had a great day. Because I'm not going to talk about that stuff
- 48:54to people because they don't need to hear it. And I had an investigation
- 49:00that night, and we had a medium at the investigation. When I get
- 49:02to the investigation, the medium goes, who to break with you? I'm
- 49:07like, no one, you can see it's just me. He's like,
- 49:10no, no, there's a man here with you, and needs really upset.
- 49:13You're in his house today rifling through things. I'm like, number one,
- 49:16I wasn't rifling through things. And then I'm like, oh crap,
- 49:21I know exactly where I was today. And so he described the man to
- 49:27a t what he looked like, because I saw the deceased man in his
- 49:30bed and same facial hair, same hair, same clothing, and he had
- 49:37to clear me and cleanse me before we started our investigation. So I had
- 49:42someone followed me from work. I've had that twice from work. Oh my
- 49:45god. They're probably very confused. They are pretty new. Yeah, that's
- 49:52it's kind to be confusing, and it's very sad to think you're there.
- 49:58You're there one minute and life is and then you have an accident and you
- 50:01know you're watching it. You're looking at your body and you're not in it
- 50:05anymore. I mean, I can't imagine it. Yeah, it's interesting that
- 50:07your job kind of correlates with this stuff to you know, and you do
- 50:12encounter people who have passed on tragically, probably in a lot of instances and
- 50:16suddenly. So I'd be surprised if you didn't have more paranormal activity going on
- 50:24around you all the time. To be honest, whenever I go to the
- 50:28properties now or the or the scenes, I'll say above below my breath,
- 50:34I'm like, I'm sorry, I'm here. I'm just helping. I'm only
- 50:36doing what I'm supposed to do, and very apologetic, and I say,
- 50:39don't follow me please. Wow. Wow, So you're you're an e M
- 50:45T Right, No, no, no, what do you do? I
- 50:50do animal services, So I investigate animal cruelty. I investigate like dog like
- 50:57bad dogs, and livestock, a lot of livestock. So yeah, oh
- 51:01my gosh, wow, very interesting, very interesting. Well what in the
- 51:07world got you into ghost hunting in the first place. Is this just something
- 51:09you've always wanted to do or did you have like myself, like have a
- 51:13lot of people that you love pass away and you wanted to communicate. I
- 51:16mean, what got you into it? I hadn't, so I was back
- 51:22in the back in the late eighties early nineties when you were allowed to stay
- 51:24home alone from school. I was at home sick, and I was like
- 51:30on the couch and I saw a man coming up my stairs. It was
- 51:35just me at home, but he looked like an old fashioned farmer from like
- 51:37the twenties, like brown coveralls, a cream shirt, and he just walked
- 51:44down the hallway and I just looked as clear as day, just like looking
- 51:47at you. And I was wide awake, and I called my neighbor,
- 51:52who was a cop, but he wasn't home. So his wife came over
- 51:57and she busted in like swat with her little can of pepper spray and cleared
- 52:00everything, and nobody was there, and none of the windows were open,
- 52:05nothing, nothing. It was bizarre, and that kind of piqued my interest.
- 52:12So then I started reading the ghost story books in my library at school,
- 52:16and then I had more experiences along the way, and here we are.
- 52:21I'm investigative by nature, hence my job. And that's how wow amazing.
- 52:29Okay, what about animal spirits, because I think that I've had some
- 52:31animal spirits around me, probably smell my pets that are passed. Do you
- 52:36encounter those quite a bit. I've encountered ghost pigs. So I was out
- 52:44of town. It was an old wild West town, Barkerville, and I
- 52:47was just doing an EVP session by myself, just walking up the drag.
- 52:52Nobody was there, and it was after hours, and I was walking by
- 52:57the old butcher shop and I was just talking to myself, asking questions.
- 53:01But then when I went back and listened to the audio, I could hear
- 53:05winking likes, Oh my god. Yeah, interesting, it's just linking in
- 53:13another dimension, you know, so cool, so cool? Okay, Well,
- 53:20I mean I just feel like cold spots around my feet sometimes and I
- 53:22just assume it's either my cat or a dog or something. I hope it's
- 53:27an animal. Yes, you know what I mean, I really do so
- 53:31yeah, And I don't know I was trying. I was. I was
- 53:37thinking of all the different correlations the different places where I investigate, like Civil
- 53:42War battlefields. Okay, so we had a lot of Civil War battles here
- 53:45in the United States down here in the South where I live. And I've
- 53:49heard like phantom cannons being fired at night. Wow. A lot of weird
- 53:54stuff goes on out there. But wherever there's a battlefield. There's usually cryptid
- 53:59activity there too, interesting, a lot of cryptid activity. Yeah, I
- 54:04was just wondering, have you ever investigated like a battlefield. We don't have
- 54:08many battlefields up here. No, in the US. Maybe, I don't
- 54:14know. I guess most of the Civil War happened. A lot of it
- 54:15happened out here on the East coast down here. I've invested so where so
- 54:21well, I have kind of I investigated a place called Alexandra Lodge and it
- 54:27was built in eighteen fifty four and it was around the time where there was
- 54:30something called the Fraser Canyon War is between the Indigenous, the English settlers,
- 54:37and the Americans. The Americans I wanted to come up here and take over,
- 54:42but we're like, uh uh, so that there's a bit of war
- 54:46there where we pushed you back down to Washington And I've investigated around there,
- 54:52but not the actual battlefield. I've investigated buildings where the battle took place.
- 55:00Part of the well. Whenever you're ready to investigate a battlefield, you come
- 55:04down to Georgia, bring your crew. Now do you actually have a crew
- 55:07or is it just you? What is paranormal road trippers? The paranormal road
- 55:12Trippers right now, it's just me, just keep me saying. And I
- 55:15work. I work with a lot of teams. I work with a lot
- 55:17of people, a lot of them. Like one of my good friends,
- 55:22great guy, his name is Jake, and him and I we call each
- 55:25other the gadget Bros. Because we love all the ghost of gadgets and he
- 55:29has all of them. And we tend to investigate a lot our little sub
- 55:35genre. We call it Our Haunted Heritage, and we have a website,
- 55:37our Haunted Heritage dot com. And we're very history heavy where we talk history
- 55:43and then we do the ghost hunt. So yeah, so I'm more of
- 55:47a freelancer right now, and I would like to add some people because it's
- 55:52hard. It's hard to do. You're only one person. Oh my gosh,
- 55:58I get that. I totally get that. Okay, So our Haunted
- 56:00Heritage. I think I may have accidentally put a space there, okay because
- 56:05I can't see you well tonight. But that that's your there. You said,
- 56:09that's your website. That's what I have. The website. So we
- 56:12have our Haunted Heritage dot com. And then I'm working on the Paranormal road
- 56:17Trippers dot com. Oh yeah, and then Instagram. We're extremely active on
- 56:22or I'm extremely active on the Panormal road Trippers. Yeah, that's what.
- 56:28I'm actually more active on Instagram than just about any of the other social media
- 56:31sites. So I put I post all the time, almost every day on
- 56:35Instagram. So I'm the same. It's my favorite. But you also you
- 56:38have a YouTube channel too, right, I do the Paranormal road Trippers,
- 56:42and I'm gonna be truckling out about five videos over the next couple of months.
- 56:46Here. I've been doing some cryptid hunting. Oh I want you to
- 56:51come back and talk about that. Oh my gosh, We've got more to
- 56:53talk about. And what I was saying was when you whenever you get ready
- 56:58to go investigate about you can come down here to Georgia. You can come
- 57:01out with my team. I'll take you to some places. We have a
- 57:05lot of old Civil War battlefields around here where I live. I will take
- 57:12one's. They're not too far from Atlanta, so you just fly into Atlanta.
- 57:15Uh, picket Smell. Picket Smell Battlefield is where my son and I
- 57:19heard the cannons firing late one night after a Haunted Haunted ghost tour. Actually
- 57:25okay, at Halloween. But yeah, there were people that were actually dressed
- 57:30up like dead soldiers and stuff. And as we were leaving, we were
- 57:34walking to the parking lot and then the cannon started firing out in the battlefield.
- 57:37That's crazy. Oh yeah, but nobody. They weren't firing cannons that
- 57:42night, by the way. It was. Yeah. So anyways, this
- 57:45has been fantastic. Oh my god, Mike, thank you so much for
- 57:50coming on tonight and h and sharing your stories with us. And it's just
- 57:53been it's been a lot of fun. We got to do this more often.

- 58:01of kryptis have you encountered? What if I encountered I've encountered bigfoot, I've
