- 0:05Speaker 1: Hey, everyone, it's Alex S. Garrett, host of One Look
- 0:07Speaker 1: Up with Alex Garrett aka One Look Up. Alex. Excited
- 0:11Speaker 1: to have you for a year thirteen of this podcast.
- 0:13Speaker 1: We've gotten through twelve amazing years thanks to you. Here's
- 0:17Speaker 1: to Lucky thirteen. All right, back here at Tourmaelo's take
- 0:22Speaker 1: on a lot of things. But Lou, I want to
- 0:25Speaker 1: backtrack on what you said about the miracle on ice now,
- 0:28Speaker 1: it was a travesty. It never was was broadcast live.
- 0:32Speaker 1: I don't even want to have the heart to watch
- 0:34Speaker 1: it on streaming in twenty twenty six. I mean, these shows,
- 0:36Speaker 1: these things, I'll be carried live. I'm tired of all
- 0:39Speaker 1: this tape delayed crap.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Well, if it was as I said to you last week,
- 0:44Speaker 2: if it was today and not nineteen eighty, yeah, that
- 0:47Speaker 2: game would have been broadcast live.
- 0:50Speaker 1: And maybe streamed even then put on television later in
- 0:53Speaker 1: the day, who knows. But it's just so weird, like
- 0:55Speaker 1: curling's on right now and it's gold medal game not
- 0:58Speaker 1: on until later. It's for deference to me. Well, anyway,
- 1:02Speaker 1: let's tell about the other NBC enterprise this weekend. That
- 1:05Speaker 1: was the big game, and I want to start with
- 1:08Speaker 1: the fact that Sam Darnold owes California money for winning
- 1:13Speaker 1: in their state. It's the most ridiculous thing I've ever
- 1:17Speaker 1: heard of. But he's got a He owes California for winning.
- 1:20Speaker 2: You believe that, Yeah, it's it is shocking. I don't
- 1:27Speaker 2: know why the Players Association, the NFLPA, they knew about this,
- 1:33Speaker 2: and next year the Super bowls in California again in
- 1:36Speaker 2: Los Angeles, so the same thing's going to happen to
- 1:40Speaker 2: these players. I don't understand why the Player Association's not
- 1:47Speaker 2: on top of it. Okay, so his winning share was
- 1:49Speaker 2: about one hundred and seventy eight thousand and change, but
- 1:53Speaker 2: he has to pay like seventy four thousand because he
- 1:58Speaker 2: worked in California on your for eight days. So it's
- 2:02Speaker 2: gonna cost him. He's losing money, but I'm sure the
- 2:07Speaker 2: fact that he has to pay two hundred and forty
- 2:09Speaker 2: seven thousand dollars in taxes, he'll he'll make that concession
- 2:15Speaker 2: concerning he's getting paid thirty million dollars a year and
- 2:18Speaker 2: they're gonna rip up his contract and probably move him
- 2:21Speaker 2: up to about forty five million dollars a year. I
- 2:25Speaker 2: think he can I believe me. I am no accountant,
- 2:28Speaker 2: but I think and I don't know where he lives.
- 2:30Speaker 2: I assume he lives in Washington, which I believe is
- 2:33Speaker 2: a no income tax state. Uh. I think he'll get
- 2:37Speaker 2: some deductions back. But it really makes no sense.
- 2:42Speaker 1: I mean, I mean, I'm.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Not gonna get political, but California, one of the greats,
- 2:47Speaker 2: which was once one of the great great states America,
- 2:50Speaker 2: is just that it's a train wreck.
- 2:53Speaker 1: And it makes you wonder how much the Dodgers are
- 2:55Speaker 1: tax for winning every year at this point, right, because
- 2:57Speaker 1: that's kind of.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Yeah, And I wonder how they get around And the
- 3:01Speaker 2: Dodgers have been pretty good at getting around these laws
- 3:05Speaker 2: and getting and using loopholes, but.
- 3:07Speaker 1: And deferring payments. But we have that today. I want
- 3:11Speaker 1: to get to this game itself. Everybody's on different sides
- 3:14Speaker 1: of defenses, right, if you love defense. It was a
- 3:16Speaker 1: good game. I mean, I thought the fact the Seahawks,
- 3:19Speaker 1: I thought they were watching the seeing Brock Purty in
- 3:22Speaker 1: a Patriot jersey. That's how beat up Drake May got.
- 3:25Speaker 1: And then on the other side, though, the Patriots also
- 3:29Speaker 1: held their own for a long time. But it just
- 3:33Speaker 1: it gives me the feeling and Ryan you can wagin
- 3:35Speaker 1: here as well with lou The Seahawks have a chance
- 3:38Speaker 1: to repeat. If they have the same core next year
- 3:41Speaker 1: and they go that hard again, we could see a
- 3:44Speaker 1: repeat team here. I'm going to make that prediction early on.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Well, obviously they can. They play in the toughest division
- 3:52Speaker 2: in the NFL, the NFC West. As I said last week,
- 3:58Speaker 2: just my opinion, the uh the Seahawks were the first
- 4:03Speaker 2: for the best team and they proved it in the NFL.
- 4:07Speaker 2: If the Rams had beaten Seattley NFC championship game, they
- 4:10Speaker 2: would have won the Super Bowl on Sunday Night. And
- 4:15Speaker 2: I think the forty nine ers a third and if
- 4:17Speaker 2: the forty nineers were healthy, they might have beat They
- 4:20Speaker 2: would have beaten the Patriots on on Sunday Night. Then
- 4:23Speaker 2: you want to go Denver and Philly next. But this
- 4:28Speaker 2: was a This was an af AN NFC top heavy year,
- 4:32Speaker 2: No doubt the ballot. The best teams were in the NFC.
- 4:34Speaker 2: But one thing I want to say about the fans
- 4:36Speaker 2: who said that this, you know, this was a boring
- 4:39Speaker 2: Super Bowl. What do they want? You're playing for? You're
- 4:45Speaker 2: playing for the championship of your sport, whatever it is.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Last year it was twenty four nothing at halftime. The
- 4:56Speaker 2: Eagles were beating the Chiefs. It was thirty four to
- 4:58Speaker 2: nothing midway through the third quarter. Okay, so we don't
- 5:02Speaker 2: get so we don't get a super Bowl like we
- 5:06Speaker 2: got two years ago that went to overtime or a
- 5:09Speaker 2: couple of years prior to that. When the Chiefs speak
- 5:11Speaker 2: the Eagles on the on the last play of the
- 5:15Speaker 2: game with the field goal, it's it's not gonna happen
- 5:19Speaker 2: that way. But flags fly forever, my friends. And hey,
- 5:24Speaker 2: I'll just speak for myself as a law and I
- 5:27Speaker 2: hate to use that term, but as a long suffering
- 5:29Speaker 2: Jets fan. Do I want to see the Jets win
- 5:31Speaker 2: a memorable Super Bowl? No, I just want to see
- 5:34Speaker 2: them win the Super Bowl. If they win it three
- 5:36Speaker 2: to two, I'll be happy. Flags fly forever. And to
- 5:41Speaker 2: hear how people, these talk show radio people saying, oh,
- 5:45Speaker 2: it's boring, it was this, it was that, No, it wasn't.
- 5:49Speaker 2: First of all, Josh McDaniels was considered a great offensive coach,
- 5:54Speaker 2: did nothing to adjust and help help Drake May or
- 5:58Speaker 2: any of the Patriots offensive players to handle the Seattle Blitz.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Seatle blitz is the fuse of any team in the NFL.
- 6:06Speaker 2: And they blitzed the most they did all season on Sunday,
- 6:10Speaker 2: and they were they caused Drake May a lot of problems.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Oh my god, you know what? What what even the
- 6:18Speaker 1: fact that the defense was on them all the time?
- 6:20Speaker 1: It was it was in a sense of there were
- 6:22Speaker 1: no interceptions or anything like that. It was amazing how
- 6:25Speaker 1: very little turnover. It's just a lot of defensive moves,
- 6:28Speaker 1: almost like chess.
- 6:29Speaker 3: Right, Ryan, I mean that's what.
- 6:30Speaker 4: No, it pretty much is. And it's also just as amazing.
- 6:32Speaker 4: How and this is something we talked about during the
- 6:36Speaker 4: game two days ago that or rather I don't think
- 6:40Speaker 4: we talked about this, but it was what I was
- 6:42Speaker 4: talking with several people about at the super Bowl party.
- 6:44Speaker 4: Guy I went to it seemed like he didn't make
- 6:47Speaker 4: any halftime adjustments at all, So what on? And it's
- 6:50Speaker 4: so unlike the Patriot way to do so because with
- 6:55Speaker 4: all those Super Bowls with Belichick and Brady, you got
- 6:58Speaker 4: so used to seeing them come out of the gate
- 7:01Speaker 4: making all these halftime adjustments, regardless of whether they were
- 7:04Speaker 4: down by a couple of touchdowns or if they were
- 7:07Speaker 4: leading by a couple of touchdowns.
- 7:09Speaker 3: It didn't matter either way.
- 7:10Speaker 1: The one thing Belichick they always set up for Braidy
- 7:13Speaker 1: had that two minute drive that would kill everybody in
- 7:16Speaker 1: and make all the adjustments along the way.
- 7:18Speaker 4: But yet from two great coaches like McDaniels and from
- 7:22Speaker 4: Mike Frable, you didn't see that. And the Belichick disciples themselves,
- 7:26Speaker 4: so I was a little surprised to not see that.
- 7:30Speaker 4: And to their credit, I mean, they got a couple
- 7:31Speaker 4: on the board, but it was way too late.
- 7:33Speaker 1: By the now. Lewin and Ryan, Why are the writers
- 7:36Speaker 1: allergic to naming a special teams guy or a defensive guy.
- 7:41Speaker 2: MVP?
- 7:42Speaker 1: It's always offensive, There's never not a special team I
- 7:45Speaker 1: mean that guy made what five or six field goals?
- 7:47Speaker 4: Yeah, Jason Myers first kicker ever I believe to score
- 7:51Speaker 4: two hundred points in an NFL season, and I was
- 7:55Speaker 4: gonna be I was pretty much advocating for him. So
- 7:58Speaker 4: hard to win Super Bowl MVP. I don't believe we've
- 8:01Speaker 4: ever seen a kicker win Super Bowl MVP.
- 8:04Speaker 3: Last time we.
- 8:05Speaker 4: Ever got an MVP award won by a kicker period
- 8:08Speaker 4: mark mostly in the nineteen eighties. So if anything, I
- 8:12Speaker 4: mean that would pretty much be the perfect time to
- 8:15Speaker 4: let a special teamer, a kicker no less, win Super
- 8:18Speaker 4: Bowl MVP, especially when you're responsible for most of the points,
- 8:22Speaker 4: especially through the first three quarters. But you know, I
- 8:25Speaker 4: got to give my flowers at the end of the
- 8:26Speaker 4: day to Kenneth Walker from just about a month ago,
- 8:32Speaker 4: going from somebody that the Seahawks were going to be
- 8:35Speaker 4: more than content with letting go in the offseason to
- 8:37Speaker 4: suddenly running for the game of his life winning Super
- 8:40Speaker 4: Bowl MVP. Would have come so close to touching two
- 8:44Speaker 4: hundred yards if it wasn't for that holding call near
- 8:47Speaker 4: the end of the game, the gaining a touchdown huge
- 8:51Speaker 4: touchdown round at that from Kennaday.
- 8:52Speaker 2: It was like a sixty one yard within a sixty
- 8:54Speaker 2: or sixty one yard touchdown run.
- 8:57Speaker 1: So yeah, what about you, Lou. I mean, they ever
- 9:00Speaker 1: name a defensive or a kicker, Well, they have.
- 9:03Speaker 2: They have named some defensive players, Chuck Colley, Uh, Randy White. Uh,
- 9:10Speaker 2: They've named some defensive players over the years. But the reason,
- 9:13Speaker 2: you know what, the Brown, Yeah, Larry Brown with the
- 9:17Speaker 2: two interceptions against Pittsburgh. So they've named some defensive players,
- 9:22Speaker 2: but uh, it's not sexy.
- 9:25Speaker 4: Alex it's not Sexy's grabbed the headlines because Nial and
- 9:31Speaker 4: I love you, we all know I want you to
- 9:33Speaker 4: be a long fame.
- 9:35Speaker 1: But if his defense didn't set up those two Super Bowls,
- 9:37Speaker 1: I don't I don't know, especially the first.
- 9:40Speaker 2: One when they when they when they beat the A
- 9:43Speaker 2: T N O Patriots, Justin Tuck probably should have won
- 9:46Speaker 2: the MVP award. But but what I liked about Sunday.
- 9:52Speaker 2: First of all, you could have given the MVP award
- 9:54Speaker 2: to three or four different guys on Seattle. You could
- 9:56Speaker 2: have given into the whole defensive team on Seattle.
- 9:58Speaker 3: And I'm gonna get out to Seattle.
- 10:00Speaker 2: I'm gonna get to the Seattle defense in the second.
- 10:02Speaker 2: But not only that. The Dixon the punter, Yeah, he
- 10:09Speaker 2: did a fantastic job.
- 10:13Speaker 1: He would pin them down about the five yard line
- 10:15Speaker 1: and they just couldn't get out of their way at
- 10:16Speaker 1: that point.
- 10:17Speaker 2: I believe he's the He's the first punter in Super
- 10:19Speaker 2: Bowl history to pin Team two twice inside the five
- 10:26Speaker 2: and three times inside to ten. So he did a
- 10:29Speaker 2: he had, he was a fan. He did a fantastic job.
- 10:31Speaker 2: And when you and when you compliment that with the
- 10:34Speaker 2: defensive scheme and plan that uh, Seattle came up with.
- 10:39Speaker 2: They they don't blitz a lot. And after we said earlier,
- 10:42Speaker 2: they blitzed more Sunday than than they did all year.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Devin Weatherspoon blitzed seven times Sunday, the most he did
- 10:50Speaker 2: all year. He uh, he had six hits. Uh. He
- 10:54Speaker 2: caused that fumble that was returned for the touchdown at
- 10:57Speaker 2: the end of the game. By the way, Seattle's four
- 10:59Speaker 2: at leads in defensive batfield are tremendous. And you know,
- 11:06Speaker 2: everybody wants to say, well, you know that, well, you
- 11:09Speaker 2: know Donald was good, but it wasn't great. Donald was excellent.
- 11:12Speaker 2: And you want to know something, This is the short
- 11:14Speaker 2: side in this of these people who cover these games.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Against Los Angeles Rams, Matt Stafford absolutely torched that Seattle defense.
- 11:25Speaker 2: They came within a couple of minutes of winning that game.
- 11:29Speaker 2: So as great as everybody wants to lift the Seattle
- 11:33Speaker 2: defense for what they did Sunday, and they deserve to
- 11:36Speaker 2: be lifted for Sunday, but they didn't. And on in
- 11:40Speaker 2: the NFC Championship game, Donald was spectacular. If it wasn't
- 11:46Speaker 2: for Donald in the NFC Championship game, they're not playing
- 11:49Speaker 2: Sunday night.
- 11:51Speaker 1: M M.
- 11:53Speaker 2: That's you know, everybody. Everybody has short term memory.
- 11:57Speaker 1: No, Donald has had quite a year overall, and he's
- 12:00Speaker 1: thirty two.
- 12:01Speaker 2: And seven, my gentlemen, thirty two and seven. He's gotten
- 12:05Speaker 2: thirty two and seven.
- 12:08Speaker 1: And I do feel like part of New York won
- 12:09Speaker 1: on Sunday because of the first that he was the
- 12:12Speaker 1: Jets' first draft pick. I feel like there's no designing that.
- 12:15Speaker 2: But well, I could say, I could tell you who
- 12:16Speaker 2: Law thoughts Sunday. The men have thrown the Vikings in
- 12:19Speaker 2: their fans big time.
- 12:22Speaker 4: Big time to go from Sam Darnold, the man who
- 12:28Speaker 4: literally in his first season away from the Vikings took
- 12:32Speaker 4: the Seahawks to a super.
- 12:34Speaker 3: Bowl and won.
- 12:35Speaker 1: It's almost like and then two leaving to the Eagles,
- 12:37Speaker 1: I'm winning his first year actually, but.
- 12:40Speaker 4: No, yeah, just with the man under center, and only
- 12:43Speaker 4: with JJ McCarthy in Well, I guess technically his rookie
- 12:48Speaker 4: season not really living up to not really looking like
- 12:53Speaker 4: he's going to be living up to those expectations. So
- 12:56Speaker 4: I mean, if I'm a Vikings fan, I absolutely feel
- 12:59Speaker 4: for you. But I mean that's honestly enough right there
- 13:04Speaker 4: to get a whole front office fired. In fairness to them, though,
- 13:08Speaker 4: I feel like you go with the younger guy every time.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Now do you feel like and Lou I think it
- 13:12Speaker 1: agreed with this. You guys feel like they fired the
- 13:15Speaker 1: GM once they saw Donold go to the Super Bowl?
- 13:18Speaker 1: Is that why he got fired or what I feel like?
- 13:20Speaker 2: Well, I think that probably had something to do with it.
- 13:23Speaker 2: I mean, you know, he's he's responsible for putting the
- 13:27Speaker 2: roster together. I'm sure he talked to you know, the coach,
- 13:33Speaker 2: but you know, Kevin, Kevin McConnell, Kevin O'Connell is he's
- 13:38Speaker 2: gonna be on the hot seat next year and this
- 13:41Speaker 2: move certainly doesn't help him. But I want to get
- 13:45Speaker 2: back to Seattle for a second. This is another thing
- 13:47Speaker 2: I like what Seattle did. And we've seen this throughout
- 13:49Speaker 2: the playoffs. Teams not kicking the field goal like Peyton
- 13:55Speaker 2: didn't when he was upset to nothing with a backup quarterback,
- 14:00Speaker 2: back up, backup quarterback, not even a real reliable backup quarterback.
- 14:06Speaker 2: Not one time did they decide to go for the three.
- 14:09Speaker 2: I mean, did they decided to go for it? They
- 14:11Speaker 2: went for the three and whenever twelve nothing, late third quarter.
- 14:16Speaker 2: I thought I thought they were going to shut them out.
- 14:18Speaker 2: I didn't think. I didn't even think the Patrio's going
- 14:21Speaker 2: to get the garbage touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Once
- 14:24Speaker 2: it got to nineteen nothing, you know, school was the
- 14:26Speaker 2: school was over. But Seattle went for the points, went
- 14:32Speaker 2: for the points, and I like that, well.
- 14:36Speaker 1: They did, and of course there was still intrigue. I
- 14:40Speaker 1: thought when they were down by ten nineteen seven, you
- 14:42Speaker 1: never know. But it was, I mean, it was just
- 14:44Speaker 1: it was. And I don't know. I was telling Louile
- 14:47Speaker 1: on the phone that they just took the look like
- 14:49Speaker 1: the Seahawks defense took the pedal off the medal for
- 14:52Speaker 1: a little bit there to allow them to get those
- 14:55Speaker 1: couple of touchdowns. I don't know, it just was.
- 14:57Speaker 2: Well, the last one obviously, I don't know about the first,
- 15:00Speaker 2: but the second one with you know, two minutes ago,
- 15:03Speaker 2: they they did. I mean, I think now England had
- 15:08Speaker 2: eighty one yards through three quarters, so any of those
- 15:11Speaker 2: yards that they picked up in the fourth.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Quarter, they said, the Streaker have more yards than.
- 15:16Speaker 4: Even Bad Bunny covered more yards than the.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Mad Dog called him on the show yesterday Twice in
- 15:24Speaker 2: the first hour, Bugs Bunny.
- 15:29Speaker 5: And Uh no, that's uh that that halftime show is
- 15:32Speaker 5: what it is. I don't know, I've ben undergo to that,
- 15:35Speaker 5: but I will say the game itself, it was more
- 15:40Speaker 5: intriguing to me.
- 15:41Speaker 1: That the defense kept up what they were doing a
- 15:44Speaker 1: couple of weeks ago to the Niners, and of course
- 15:46Speaker 1: what I saw in week eighteen, like they didn't lose
- 15:49Speaker 1: any steam at all from what I could tell. That
- 15:51Speaker 1: was the most impressive part to me, that they didn't
- 15:53Speaker 1: lose any steam in these last few weeks. To get
- 15:57Speaker 1: them to know where they are right now, the super
- 15:59Speaker 1: world champ.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Yeah, no, it's it's a good point. And you're usually
- 16:03Speaker 2: now playing twenty twenty one games during the course of
- 16:07Speaker 2: the regular season and the playoffs depending if you get
- 16:09Speaker 2: the first round. By yeah, you get where that you
- 16:15Speaker 2: get one out. I mean, like I said, these games
- 16:17Speaker 2: are played by human beings and not robots. But Sele's
- 16:21Speaker 2: tremendously coached. They got great plays on defense. Again, like
- 16:27Speaker 2: I said, to credit to the Rams for shredding the
- 16:29Speaker 2: defense a couple of weeks ago, they would have won
- 16:31Speaker 2: the Super Bowl.
- 16:32Speaker 1: Now where the Patriots didn't take advantages JSM. I think right,
- 16:38Speaker 1: he gets he's out of the game for an injury.
- 16:41Speaker 1: And I'm like, that's where the Patriots had to take
- 16:43Speaker 1: advantage the who's their best receiver and either of the
- 16:48Speaker 1: Patriots should have taken, you know, some advantage that they
- 16:51Speaker 1: just did not, and the paid and the Seahogs didn't
- 16:53Speaker 1: let him.
- 16:54Speaker 3: But I'm like, man, this is a good opportunity to
- 16:55Speaker 3: score at least.
- 16:56Speaker 1: A couple of times has while the guys off the field.
- 16:57Speaker 2: But he just well they could they couldn't. They couldn't
- 17:00Speaker 2: attack the Seattle defense.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Now this this this right tackle was right tackle, right,
- 17:06Speaker 1: I mean the left tackle, the left tackle.
- 17:09Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I mean Drake Drake May got nineteen times
- 17:12Speaker 2: in the game, fourteen of them. According to Pro Football
- 17:18Speaker 2: Focus or one of the uh one of those one
- 17:24Speaker 2: of those websites that that that takes account of this
- 17:30Speaker 2: said that Will Campbell allowed fourteen and nineteen sacks. I
- 17:32Speaker 2: don't know how ACQ with that is, but obviously he
- 17:35Speaker 2: got off to a good start. He was a numbere
- 17:37Speaker 2: draft pick. Now you know, you hear that he's they
- 17:40Speaker 2: might move him to guard, move him inside, get him
- 17:43Speaker 2: out of the outside. So who knows. But again, the
- 17:46Speaker 2: Patriots were seventeen and four. This year they played with
- 17:50Speaker 2: house money. They had a very easy schedule, the easiest
- 17:55Speaker 2: or second easy schedule since the merger in nineteen seventy.
- 17:58Speaker 2: They only played two of the top ten defenses all year. Meanwhile,
- 18:03Speaker 2: the Seattle bet beat the Rams twice out of three.
- 18:07Speaker 2: They beat the forty nine ers twice out of the
- 18:10Speaker 2: three times. I mean, you got to you gotta give
- 18:14Speaker 2: this was the Seahawks a year they were the best team.
- 18:16Speaker 2: And you know, now we go, we move on. But
- 18:21Speaker 2: do you realize that the New England Patriots and the
- 18:24Speaker 2: New England Patriots fans cannot be crush or anything. They
- 18:28Speaker 2: have played in twenty percent of the sixty Super Bowls?
- 18:32Speaker 1: Ye, twenty, I mean that's and we're watching one now
- 18:35Speaker 1: as they replay the Giants one on the two thousand
- 18:37Speaker 1: and seven and eight. But no, I'll tell you, uh,
- 18:41Speaker 1: twenty plus this year alone, a four and thirteen turnaround
- 18:46Speaker 1: to this, I mean, I think anybody would take that
- 18:49Speaker 1: in a heartbeat, no matter what the end result.
- 18:51Speaker 4: No anybody would, especially because nobody expected the Patriots to
- 18:58Speaker 4: go this far. I mean I doubt a lot of
- 18:59Speaker 4: people really expected none to make the playoffs this year.
- 19:02Speaker 3: Now, even in a week AFC East.
- 19:04Speaker 2: Yes, Brian, you're right, and Alex and I think we're
- 19:07Speaker 2: talking about this yesterday in the Super Bowl. I mean
- 19:12Speaker 2: in the NFL preview show that we did. We had
- 19:15Speaker 2: the Patriots with the arrow pointing up, but I meant
- 19:18Speaker 2: like from four and thirteen to eight and nine.
- 19:21Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, like that.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Yeah, but not not playing on February eighth for the
- 19:28Speaker 2: championship of the league.
- 19:29Speaker 3: Oh certainly not.
- 19:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:31Speaker 4: If anything, Yeah, you could probably make a valid argument
- 19:34Speaker 4: that you could have seen an AFC East team be
- 19:37Speaker 4: playing on February eighth way back in September. But I mean,
- 19:41Speaker 4: obviously everybody was really thinking, oh, this might actually be
- 19:45Speaker 4: the Buffalo Bill's true year for once and that, and
- 19:49Speaker 4: of course when the playoffs started, every thought this is
- 19:52Speaker 4: a perfect pathway for Josh, because.
- 19:55Speaker 1: You know, you don't have the Lamar, you don't have
- 19:57Speaker 1: the Mahomes, you don't have the Burrow to contemd with.
- 20:01Speaker 1: But it just was, it's just on the cards and
- 20:05Speaker 1: bo Nix is healthy. I do think that Broncos move on.
- 20:08Speaker 1: I just have that weird feeling that that would have
- 20:10Speaker 1: been a difference maker.
- 20:11Speaker 4: Right, although I mean with the weather conditions in Denver.
- 20:14Speaker 4: I I would have to argue against that, though.
- 20:16Speaker 3: I mean, you could have thrown.
- 20:18Speaker 4: Anybody under center where whether it was Jarrett'stidham an eighty
- 20:22Speaker 4: five percent healthy bow Knicks, or really Payton Manning right now,
- 20:27Speaker 4: you could have thrown him under center, and I think
- 20:29Speaker 4: you more or less would have gotten the same results.
- 20:31Speaker 4: I mean, the Pats were the better team if anything,
- 20:34Speaker 4: that day. They were able to take advantage on both
- 20:37Speaker 4: sides of the ball, even with the weather conditions in
- 20:39Speaker 4: Denver that day. Quite frankly, even if they had a
- 20:41Speaker 4: healthy bo Nix, I really don't think.
- 20:43Speaker 3: A lot would have changed.
- 20:44Speaker 4: Even if it was bo Nix himself carrying the Broncos
- 20:47Speaker 4: to the Super Bowl, I think we more or les
- 20:49Speaker 4: would have been getting the same result as twenty thirteen
- 20:51Speaker 4: the Seahawks.
- 20:52Speaker 2: Just I agree with your Ryan. The Seahawks would have
- 20:56Speaker 2: beaten Denver. Yes, I agree.
- 20:58Speaker 1: Bothing, Denver could have beaten New England if Knicks was healthy. Y.
- 21:01Speaker 3: Yeah, they could have made it more cloaks, let's put
- 21:03Speaker 3: it that way. But that's then.
- 21:06Speaker 1: Now we gotta move on to and I know we're
- 21:08Speaker 1: gonna do a whole draft show. I hate doing a
- 21:09Speaker 1: whole twenty hours long recap of a game. It doesn't
- 21:12Speaker 1: make sense. So what happens next, Well, we gotta look
- 21:15Speaker 1: at the draft obviously when it comes to the NFL.
- 21:17Speaker 1: I'm sure you guys are keeping your eye on that
- 21:19Speaker 1: and where Mendoza goes.
- 21:21Speaker 4: And then also the off season two now before we
- 21:24Speaker 4: fully move on from the Super Bowl, winning the Super.
- 21:27Speaker 1: Bowl and then beginning is tenure on the Raiders. This
- 21:30Speaker 1: is how and Luisa Rias and the Giants breaking baseball
- 21:35Speaker 1: news there. But it's but no, I just see this
- 21:39Speaker 1: guy klink Kubiak taking over the Raiders. Now that's a
- 21:42Speaker 1: team right there. Well, I know Lou watched them in
- 21:45Speaker 1: their glory days back then, and I kind of see
- 21:48Speaker 1: the Raiders get back to the Al Davis years.
- 21:49Speaker 3: It'd be nice. It'd be kind of interesting, wasn't.
- 21:51Speaker 2: It, Alex. They were good every year. I mean, the
- 21:56Speaker 2: fact that they only won three Super Bowls is pretty
- 22:00Speaker 2: arkable because they would be Let's just say this. I
- 22:03Speaker 2: know it's a different era and it's hard and it's
- 22:05Speaker 2: definitely you don't you don't compare eras, but regardless of era,
- 22:11Speaker 2: they were beating the two teams that play on Sunday
- 22:14Speaker 2: when the ratings were day.
- 22:17Speaker 3: And then Ry what you're saying, no, and I mean
- 22:19Speaker 3: the Kubiak higher. I really liked it.
- 22:22Speaker 4: And this is something I actually predicted on Pack's perspective myself,
- 22:26Speaker 4: that they were going to hire either Kubiak or perhaps
- 22:31Speaker 4: Davis Webb from the Broncos.
- 22:33Speaker 1: And his father was fantastic.
- 22:35Speaker 4: Yeah, Gary was great, and the way Clinton managed that
- 22:40Speaker 4: Seahawks offense, and you know, brought Sam Darnold's career seemingly
- 22:44Speaker 4: back from the dead after that what we all thought
- 22:47Speaker 4: was a one fluke year with the Minnesota Vikings, uh
- 22:50Speaker 4: bringing his career fully back. And if anything, through the Raiders,
- 22:54Speaker 4: you want to bring in that quarterback focus higher. That
- 22:58Speaker 4: can bring structure, especially run a new guy, and especially
- 23:01Speaker 4: around a prospect who we have not seen a lot
- 23:04Speaker 4: of hype from in years. Right in Fernando Mendoza speaking
- 23:09Speaker 4: of the Seahawks though, and this is something I just
- 23:11Speaker 4: want to pick both of your brains about here real quick.
- 23:13Speaker 4: I did bring up how maybe about a month ago
- 23:17Speaker 4: Kenneth Walker looked like somebody the Seahawks were going to
- 23:21Speaker 4: move on from, and before the sharbona season ending injury,
- 23:24Speaker 4: you could have very well made the argument that yes,
- 23:26Speaker 4: this is Kenneth Walker's last year in Seattle, but now
- 23:29Speaker 4: that he's a Super Bowl MVP, and especially with not
- 23:32Speaker 4: a lot of depth in the running back room as
- 23:34Speaker 4: we look in at twenty twenty six, because right now
- 23:38Speaker 4: only sharbon Ay and Kenny Macintosh they are the only
- 23:41Speaker 4: two backs signed for next season. So do you think
- 23:45Speaker 4: the Seahawks bring back Kenneth Walker or do you think
- 23:48Speaker 4: they go in another direction here and try to add
- 23:50Speaker 4: some more depth behind Sharbona. I'm curious to hear what
- 23:52Speaker 4: you guys think now.
- 23:53Speaker 2: I think they're going to resign him.
- 23:56Speaker 1: I know it was so funny because I saw landing
- 23:58Speaker 1: spots him like he just was the MVP. What do
- 24:00Speaker 1: we do about landing spots for the guy? But you know,
- 24:03Speaker 1: I think they bring him back. I think the MVP
- 24:06Speaker 1: now see, I don't know. You probably know better than
- 24:08Speaker 1: my way for both of you. Have you seen an
- 24:11Speaker 1: MVP be let go from a team and signed with
- 24:14Speaker 1: someone else a year later? I don't know how often
- 24:16Speaker 1: that happens.
- 24:17Speaker 2: Well, Ray Knight in nineteen eighty six was the World
- 24:20Speaker 2: Series MVP, and he was he saw it as a
- 24:24Speaker 2: free agent with the Oreoles. I know it's a different sport,
- 24:26Speaker 2: but that's the first one I came to mind.
- 24:27Speaker 3: The only one I could think of.
- 24:28Speaker 1: His goalies, like the Emmy one with the Blackhawks, and
- 24:31Speaker 1: then he signs with another team the year later for
- 24:34Speaker 1: the next season. It was kind of weird to me
- 24:35Speaker 1: how these guys, especially in hockey, can switch from one
- 24:39Speaker 1: team to the next that fast.
- 24:40Speaker 3: But I don't know.
- 24:41Speaker 1: I think they bring him back Williams. I think his
- 24:42Speaker 1: breakout he had a breakout game and a breakout second
- 24:47Speaker 1: half there so loves Now here's a question. We're always
- 24:51Speaker 1: uber focused on the Northeast and what's going on in
- 24:54Speaker 1: the AFC East and NFC East. I mean, did the
- 24:57Speaker 1: New Yorkers do you do Northeasterners now focus on the Seahawks?
- 25:02Speaker 1: Are they still going to go under the radar every
- 25:03Speaker 1: year because they're up in that Upper Northwest geographically? It's
- 25:06Speaker 1: very not It doesn't make you want to watch him,
- 25:10Speaker 1: but maybe when the Super Bowl does.
- 25:11Speaker 3: Now, I don't know, what do you guys think.
- 25:14Speaker 2: I'm gonna say, No, they won't be. They won't they
- 25:16Speaker 2: won't be under the radar, And I could be wrong.
- 25:19Speaker 2: I think both the Jets and Giants play Seattle next year,
- 25:23Speaker 2: So I think that I could be wrong on that.
- 25:27Speaker 4: I think because the Giants, I know they definitely played
- 25:30Speaker 4: the NFC West this year. I know I have another
- 25:32Speaker 4: home date at Medlife Schedules with my forty nine ers,
- 25:35Speaker 4: so that's definitely gonna be a matchup I'm looking forward to,
- 25:38Speaker 4: especially if the Giants can stay healthy and show a
- 25:43Speaker 4: lot of progress with their young core under John Marble,
- 25:46Speaker 4: I would definitely be looking forward to seeing that.
- 25:48Speaker 1: Now Ryan's wearing his Niners shirt, So I've got to
- 25:50Speaker 1: ask you this.
- 25:51Speaker 2: Oh, I didn't realize that. I didn't realize that Ryan
- 25:53Speaker 2: was a Niner fan. I thought I actually I thought
- 25:56Speaker 2: he was one of those Long Island Jets guys.
- 25:59Speaker 3: Now see, I like the Niners.
- 26:01Speaker 4: I very much also have a soft spot for the Jets,
- 26:04Speaker 4: you know, kind of half in half if you will.
- 26:07Speaker 3: You could thank my parents for that one.
- 26:08Speaker 1: But then we played under and played under the Shanahan system.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Would you want to see him play or do you
- 26:14Speaker 1: think that a year off as a starter, yeah, or
- 26:16Speaker 1: just any time during that ten year he was with
- 26:19Speaker 1: the Niners.
- 26:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean.
- 26:23Speaker 2: Where helped him?
- 26:24Speaker 4: He relieved brock Party and started a little bit for
- 26:28Speaker 4: the Niners. I got to see a little bit of
- 26:29Speaker 4: him in action towards the end of twenty twenty three.
- 26:32Speaker 4: I really liked what I saw from him, So I'm
- 26:34Speaker 4: not really that shocked that he got a starting job
- 26:36Speaker 4: immediately the next year with the Vikings. But yeah, I
- 26:40Speaker 4: absolutely would have loved to see that, because that Shanahan
- 26:43Speaker 4: system can pretty much just room anybody into being a
- 26:46Speaker 4: competent quarterback at this point, I mean, because why else
- 26:49Speaker 4: would a man known as mister irrelevant and brock Party
- 26:52Speaker 4: suddenly rise up to the starting job take over the
- 26:55Speaker 4: job really from Trey Lance, a guy who you know
- 26:58Speaker 4: was drafted in the first round, was very hyped upon
- 27:01Speaker 4: but just couldn't stay healthy. And I mean he's barely
- 27:05Speaker 4: holding on in the league right now.
- 27:07Speaker 1: Now, Lou, I want to give you a little trivia.
- 27:09Speaker 1: You know who saw Drake May's first game in person.
- 27:13Speaker 2: But don't tell me it was you.
- 27:16Speaker 1: You're talking to the other guy that's on this the
- 27:18Speaker 1: other one.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Oh okay, all right, okay, right, I did.
- 27:22Speaker 4: But I was at that game Week three in twenty
- 27:25Speaker 4: twenty four, Drake May were leaving Jacoby Brissett, and who
- 27:29Speaker 4: would have thought that I would at that point would
- 27:32Speaker 4: be seeing the start of something very special. And I
- 27:36Speaker 4: was impressed with Drake May's first start play. But did
- 27:40Speaker 4: I expect him to get to a super Bowl in
- 27:44Speaker 4: a year from now? Absolutely not. Nobody had that on
- 27:46Speaker 4: their radar.
- 27:47Speaker 3: I didn't.
- 27:48Speaker 1: I didn't either, but I didn't think he was gonna
- 27:50Speaker 1: have enough. If you give him enough reps, he was
- 27:51Speaker 1: going to show the league what he's made of. And
- 27:53Speaker 1: that's where I really feel we saw this year, is
- 27:56Speaker 1: you give him enough reps every year and he'll be
- 27:59Speaker 1: back in the super Bowl. He could win this thing
- 28:01Speaker 1: one year. So the kids, the kid's great question. The
- 28:06Speaker 1: kid is greatly battling injury. I don't know how true
- 28:09Speaker 1: that is, but I heard he was battling some kind
- 28:11Speaker 1: of injury and needed some kind of shots before the game.
- 28:14Speaker 1: I don't know exactly.
- 28:15Speaker 2: Yeah, they shot him in the shoulder.
- 28:19Speaker 1: Why I'm having you on today, Louis, And they know
- 28:22Speaker 1: they just to get a jump on this before the
- 28:24Speaker 1: week gets too far.
- 28:26Speaker 3: But tonight's gonna be fun.
- 28:27Speaker 1: And I know it's women's hockey, but hey, it's US
- 28:30Speaker 1: versus Canada. We all three of us love a good
- 28:33Speaker 1: US versus Canada game. I want to see the guys
- 28:36Speaker 1: beat up on Canada too.
- 28:38Speaker 3: It's about time.
- 28:38Speaker 1: After watching Canada have our ass almost every time out.
- 28:42Speaker 1: But hey, US Canada is always a thing, no matter
- 28:47Speaker 1: the gender, right.
- 28:48Speaker 2: Well, yes, And I'll be watching in a couple of hours.
- 28:53Speaker 2: And you know, when women's hockey, it's USA, it's Canada.
- 28:58Speaker 2: It's not a lot of other contending teams. I know
- 29:01Speaker 2: Swingen won one year, but it's always US and Canada. Now,
- 29:05Speaker 2: the United States has lost a couple of gold medals.
- 29:08Speaker 2: United States women that's lost a couple of gold medals
- 29:11Speaker 2: games where they should have definitely won the gold medal game.
- 29:14Speaker 2: There was one game where they were totally dominant, and
- 29:16Speaker 2: I forget which was.
- 29:18Speaker 3: In twenty.
- 29:20Speaker 2: Twenty two. Maybe it was in twenty two where they
- 29:22Speaker 2: were totally dominant and they just blew it at the
- 29:25Speaker 2: end and they lost in overtime. But yeah, I mean,
- 29:29Speaker 2: obviously this is a round robin game and they'll probably
- 29:32Speaker 2: play again in the medal round. But still you want,
- 29:35Speaker 2: you want to win today's game. And I will be watching.
- 29:38Speaker 2: And the men start tomorrow and US plays on Thursday.
- 29:44Speaker 2: Their first thing, they play Thursday.
- 29:45Speaker 1: Now they say, it's gonna be Abling Good's birthday. What
- 29:47Speaker 1: a day to start your Oh.
- 29:48Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right.
- 29:49Speaker 4: Yeah, it's be a very fun one for sure, and
- 29:52Speaker 4: especially seeing women's hockey really rise up in popularity outside
- 29:59Speaker 4: the other PWHL. Right, and that's grown in popularity so
- 30:03Speaker 4: much since then. They're playing an MSG a little over
- 30:06Speaker 4: a month from now. That's that's gonna be groundbreaking.
- 30:10Speaker 1: And of course, you know, I'm wondering now how many
- 30:12Speaker 1: of these ladies are in the PWHL as we speak.
- 30:15Speaker 1: I feel like some of these well.
- 30:17Speaker 4: I have you right, Well, I got that answer for
- 30:19Speaker 4: you right now, because I'm I'm looking at NBC, looking
- 30:22Speaker 4: at p WHL teammates turned Olympic rivals, and looking across
- 30:27Speaker 4: the p WHL Seattle, Ottawa and Montreal. They those are
- 30:31Speaker 4: two teams that both have multiple players from both the
- 30:35Speaker 4: USA and Canada. So you have a lot of instances
- 30:37Speaker 4: of p WHL teammates becoming Olympic rivals.
- 30:41Speaker 1: Next and you know, they sold out up in Boston
- 30:43Speaker 1: when they had the final a couple of years ago
- 30:45Speaker 1: or even last year. It's pretty exciting to see that
- 30:47Speaker 1: sport growing, and baseball's come around too, so uh, women.
- 30:53Speaker 1: So it's all it's called all kind of interesting. Now
- 30:55Speaker 1: I want to get your takes because Louis, you've seen
- 30:57Speaker 1: her before, Lindsay Yvonne in on the same day of
- 31:02Speaker 1: Super Sunday, that dramatic, horrible crash. But we can't blame
- 31:07Speaker 1: her for trying again.
- 31:08Speaker 3: Like I think it's.
- 31:09Speaker 1: An effort that she went out to try again, right, Alex.
- 31:13Speaker 2: I will never blame an athlete for trying to follow
- 31:16Speaker 2: their passion. Never even sometimes some of these players stay
- 31:21Speaker 2: too long past their prime and you can never tell somebody,
- 31:25Speaker 2: This is just my observation. You can never tell somebody
- 31:28Speaker 2: to retire when they have that much passion. Hey, she
- 31:34Speaker 2: was courageous, she was she already had the knee injury.
- 31:39Speaker 2: It's a shame that she's what happened to her on Sunday,
- 31:42Speaker 2: and she's gonna need multiple surgeries. But I don't blame
- 31:46Speaker 2: her for trying. That's that's the athletic spirit, the competition
- 31:50Speaker 2: of an a the competitiveness of an athlete, that's what
- 31:53Speaker 2: makes athletes great. And I just felt bad that she
- 31:57Speaker 2: needs multiple surgeries.
- 31:59Speaker 1: She had this s line. Then I really was taken
- 32:02Speaker 1: by on Instagram. Should I tried, I dreamt, I jumped,
- 32:06Speaker 1: and I thought, that's I hope she has that spirit forever,
- 32:09Speaker 1: no matter what she does, like just to keep at it,
- 32:11Speaker 1: and she'd be a great commentator. I feel like she's
- 32:14Speaker 1: got the experience. She could go on the air and
- 32:17Speaker 1: you know, she'd be good on TV. I think, what
- 32:18Speaker 1: do you guys think.
- 32:19Speaker 4: She'd be great, you know for the next Winter Olympics,
- 32:22Speaker 4: whether or not she's going to be competing in it
- 32:25Speaker 4: or whether or not she's going to be.
- 32:28Speaker 1: He's easily made that transition from competitor and we all
- 32:31Speaker 1: know and love what Sewan White did and now he's
- 32:34Speaker 1: on TV.
- 32:35Speaker 2: It's amazing now was the commentator. So all all these.
- 32:39Speaker 1: Athletes end up making a transition overall. So it's been
- 32:43Speaker 1: it's been an interesting Olympics so far. Should be considered
- 32:46Speaker 1: we're not meddling a lot yet. I don't know, I
- 32:48Speaker 1: feel like we're going to rack up the goals as
- 32:50Speaker 1: we go along here, right.
- 32:51Speaker 2: Yeah. No, Actually, it's funny you mentioned that I was
- 32:53Speaker 2: looking this morning at the medal count and it's only
- 32:55Speaker 2: you know, it's still the first couple of days and uh,
- 33:00Speaker 2: you know, I see I see my homeland has eleven
- 33:03Speaker 2: and we we we're behind Italy, which just surprising. So yeah,
- 33:10Speaker 2: we should be we should be number one, I mean
- 33:13Speaker 2: we really should be. But we'll see what happens. Is still,
- 33:17Speaker 2: you know, two weeks ago basically and the most important one.
- 33:22Speaker 2: I mean, I hope we want them all, but I
- 33:24Speaker 2: really want to see the United States hockey team, oh
- 33:28Speaker 2: men's hockey team.
- 33:29Speaker 1: I mean seems in the eighties. I've never seen it,
- 33:31Speaker 1: so I'm excited to try. And because my first real
- 33:35Speaker 1: Olympics where I got really intrigued was twenty ten. I
- 33:39Speaker 1: was in college and I had to do the radio
- 33:41Speaker 1: show the next day after just have that heartbreaking goal
- 33:45Speaker 1: by Sydney Kruft.
- 33:46Speaker 2: It's hotbroke. I was heartbroken. I still could see it.
- 33:50Speaker 1: It's still heartbreaking. Yeah, and I've never gotten over it,
- 33:55Speaker 1: Like I just wanted to see that. So there are
- 33:57Speaker 1: there are many rivalries I want to see actually changed,
- 34:01Speaker 1: you know, have their results. Yankees versus the Astros. We
- 34:06Speaker 1: haven't really seen A helped the Yankee team against the
- 34:08Speaker 1: Astros in this new look in the ALCS. I want
- 34:12Speaker 1: to see that again and see the Yanks win Buffalo
- 34:15Speaker 1: Firs Kansasity. I want to see the Buffalo Bills b case,
- 34:18Speaker 1: and I'll add USA Kidada, and of course in the
- 34:21Speaker 1: World Baseball Classic it'll probably USA Japan again. I want
- 34:25Speaker 1: to see them, hopefully they'll beat them in next month
- 34:28Speaker 1: as well. So a lot of international a lot of
- 34:31Speaker 1: American pride on the international stages this couple of months here.
- 34:35Speaker 2: No doubt about it, there really is. I don't know
- 34:38Speaker 2: if you saw the Canada lines as far as the
- 34:44Speaker 2: men's hockey team goes. I was. I think it was
- 34:46Speaker 2: in the Athletic and they had the Canadian lines, and
- 34:51Speaker 2: I mean it's unbelievable. You know, like Sidney Krausy's like
- 34:56Speaker 2: a third strings, third line excuse me, a third line center.
- 35:02Speaker 2: The power of the Canadian forwards, their goalie, their goalie
- 35:06Speaker 2: are shaky, but it's gonna be hard. I mean, my gosh.
- 35:13Speaker 2: I mean, I know the United States is gonna be
- 35:15Speaker 2: right there with him, but when you look at those
- 35:17Speaker 2: Canadian those Canadian lines, it's, oh my god.
- 35:21Speaker 1: I'll never get that Saturday night last year when they
- 35:24Speaker 1: dropped the gloves the first two minutes, and.
- 35:28Speaker 4: That's definitely somewhere where you're never gonna forget where you
- 35:31Speaker 4: were at that point, I was actually up in my
- 35:33Speaker 4: cousin's place in Illinois watching that will all go down.
- 35:36Speaker 4: And I mean, let me tell you, guys, I don't
- 35:39Speaker 4: think I was ever more entertained by a US Canada
- 35:43Speaker 4: matchup than I was that night. And yeah, I know
- 35:45Speaker 4: it wasn't the Olympics, but no four Nations and all that.
- 35:49Speaker 4: I mean that just reinvigorated interest so much in that.
- 35:56Speaker 1: Just the winning that game was even more interesting that.
- 36:00Speaker 1: So I mean that too.
- 36:01Speaker 4: Yeah, and they almost won the whole tournament for that
- 36:04Speaker 4: matter as well. It's a shame that US that the
- 36:08Speaker 4: US didn't win that, Yeah, but it is what it is.
- 36:11Speaker 3: We're moving one on my.
- 36:13Speaker 1: List of rivalries i'd like to see go in the
- 36:16Speaker 1: US favor, and I finally seeing it's like a bucket
- 36:20Speaker 1: list thing. You want to see these things happen before
- 36:22Speaker 1: you go. So we'll have to see boys. It'll be
- 36:26Speaker 1: a fun tournament. Nonetheless, And Molly Walker and I think
- 36:30Speaker 1: Ethan's out there too, covering for the Post.
- 36:33Speaker 2: So yeah, I think they're both out there.
- 36:35Speaker 1: And Bruce Beck and of course Kenny Albert. I mean,
- 36:37Speaker 1: all of our friends are pretty much out there calling
- 36:40Speaker 1: these games. So it's it's going to be interesting and
- 36:43Speaker 1: covering these guys. And I believe there's a couple of
- 36:45Speaker 1: Long Island natives in this tournament in the Olympics.
- 36:48Speaker 4: Yeah, Charlie McAvoy, And it was the big one, especially
- 36:52Speaker 4: with the Long Island based focus. I know they were
- 36:56Speaker 4: as on time beth Page. They were actually celebrating him
- 36:59Speaker 4: going to the Old Bitch just the other day or
- 37:01Speaker 4: something like that. I believe they had a ceremony at
- 37:03Speaker 4: one of the elementary schools in beth Page Forum, which
- 37:06Speaker 4: is pretty much right around the.
- 37:08Speaker 3: Block for me. So that's pretty cool to see.
- 37:10Speaker 1: That's pretty cool, and even.
- 37:12Speaker 4: You know, not that this is really Team USA focused,
- 37:15Speaker 4: but even at a couple of the Islanders home games
- 37:19Speaker 4: before the Olympic break, I actually met up with a
- 37:23Speaker 4: few old neighbors of mine and on the concourse before
- 37:26Speaker 4: the game. This was against Nashville, I believe, last two
- 37:31Speaker 4: weeks ago. Yeah, the video team actually gave fans the
- 37:35Speaker 4: chance to shout out Andre Pillott and Bo Horvat, both
- 37:39Speaker 4: of whom are in Milan right now for the Olympics.
- 37:43Speaker 4: And you know, it was a pretty cool moment to
- 37:45Speaker 4: see and to be a part of and really get
- 37:49Speaker 4: the chance to wish them the best of luck.
- 37:50Speaker 3: Now, I don't know if that video specifically is going
- 37:53Speaker 3: to social media and all that, or that's just more
- 37:55Speaker 3: of a private video going to the players.
- 37:57Speaker 4: But if you see me shouting out bow and on
- 38:00Speaker 4: her fly, well you'll see it everywhere.
- 38:03Speaker 1: Let me let me ask you guys this because I mean,
- 38:06Speaker 1: obviously I don't want him any hurt, but are we
- 38:09Speaker 1: holding our breaths? I never forget that Olympics that j
- 38:13Speaker 1: T got hurt and John John Tavares and uh, I
- 38:18Speaker 1: know that's why they stopped having all these nhlrs at
- 38:21Speaker 1: the Olympics to begin with that that that other one.
- 38:24Speaker 1: But are you guys holding your breath? All right? These
- 38:25Speaker 1: guys better stay healthy. I feel like we're all going
- 38:27Speaker 1: to do that one way or.
- 38:28Speaker 4: Oh for sure, And especially with fourth line Canadian center
- 38:33Speaker 4: bo Herbad in the mix, He's going to be a
- 38:37Speaker 4: big part looking forward to the rest of the NHL season.
- 38:40Speaker 4: He's going to be a big part of the Isles
- 38:43Speaker 4: run of the playoffs because they are still top three
- 38:45Speaker 4: in the Metro at this point. Both's going to be
- 38:48Speaker 4: a big part of that. He also missed a couple
- 38:49Speaker 4: of weeks with an injury. So if anything keeping him
- 38:53Speaker 4: healthy during the Olympics is it's going to be huge.
- 38:57Speaker 4: And if he gets hurt, it might make or break
- 38:59Speaker 4: the season.
- 39:01Speaker 2: Ryan, I agree with you one thousand percent. Actually I
- 39:03Speaker 2: wish he didn't make the team. I wish he was
- 39:05Speaker 2: taking the three weeks off.
- 39:06Speaker 4: Oh yeah, No, I was kind of holding my breath
- 39:08Speaker 4: for the same thing. But look, if it's well some consolation,
- 39:13Speaker 4: Matthew Shaeffer did not make the team, either for better
- 39:16Speaker 4: or for worse.
- 39:18Speaker 3: No, I mean he had that at least.
- 39:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean four years from now he'll be on
- 39:22Speaker 2: the team. The fact that the fact that, as Doug Armstrong,
- 39:26Speaker 2: the general manager the Blues and tem Canada said, the
- 39:29Speaker 2: fact that he even got on the radar that quickly
- 39:33Speaker 2: is remarkable. Yeah.
- 39:35Speaker 4: I mean, the fact that we were having legitimate discussions
- 39:38Speaker 4: about whether or not this kid, at eighteen years old,
- 39:41Speaker 4: was going to make the team or not. I mean
- 39:42Speaker 4: that speaks volumes about how well he's going to be
- 39:46Speaker 4: representing Team Canada in the future. I mean that's not
- 39:49Speaker 4: go unnoticed.
- 39:50Speaker 2: Ryan, especially after in the World Juniors last year, breaking
- 39:54Speaker 2: his collar bone and only playing seventeen games in junior.
- 39:59Speaker 3: Yeah, that's to do.
- 40:01Speaker 2: Yeah, So, I mean, the kids remarkable. I mean, I
- 40:03Speaker 2: just love watching him play every game. The kid is
- 40:08Speaker 2: he has injected so much energy into the Islanders and
- 40:12Speaker 2: into their fan base. It's been unbelievable.
- 40:15Speaker 4: The fact that he could legitimately break Brian Leach's record
- 40:19Speaker 4: most goals by a rookie defenseman. I mean I believe
- 40:22Speaker 4: the record is twenty two or twenty three. Leach of
- 40:25Speaker 4: course setting that in eighty eight, eighty nine. We had
- 40:28Speaker 4: not seen a rookie defenseman really come all that close since.
- 40:32Speaker 4: But no, that's a legitimate possibility.
- 40:35Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what that he might do that.
- 40:37Speaker 4: At eighteen less, and especially with the record for goals
- 40:43Speaker 4: by a rookie eighteen year old defenseman being held by
- 40:47Speaker 4: Phil Housley, I believe seventeen or eighteen. Yeah, he just
- 40:51Speaker 4: pays Bobby or Yeah, he just passed Bobby Yorke. He's
- 40:54Speaker 4: coming very close to that record. But the rookie defenseman
- 40:58Speaker 4: record just crazy times.
- 41:00Speaker 1: Well, I want to get to a couple more items,
- 41:02Speaker 1: because we're all starting to get obsessed with baseball and
- 41:06Speaker 1: we're not even into March, you know, into spring training it,
- 41:09Speaker 1: but I think we're all obsessed with it because we
- 41:11Speaker 1: want the warm weather, and really who cares about the results,
- 41:15Speaker 1: although I will, hey at leastenk at warm weather back.
- 41:18Speaker 1: I think everybody's more just about baseball now than I've
- 41:20Speaker 1: ever seen In February, have you guys noticed that, like
- 41:23Speaker 1: the Star Baseball, I think people just want it back
- 41:26Speaker 1: to get warm weather again.
- 41:27Speaker 2: Alex. Probably they probably just want to either go down.
- 41:32Speaker 1: Because I'm worried. I mean I am, on paper worried
- 41:35Speaker 1: about both teams what they're going to look like in
- 41:38Speaker 1: in the spring, and of course.
- 41:40Speaker 4: Too especially with the World Baseball Classic, and uh to
- 41:44Speaker 4: put a Mets focus on this several Bets taking part
- 41:47Speaker 4: in the World Baseball Classic, and you probably don't need
- 41:50Speaker 4: me to remind you what exactly happened the Mets season
- 41:54Speaker 4: the last time the World Baseball Classic was there. All
- 41:57Speaker 4: the same, I'm holding my breath for pretty much all
- 42:01Speaker 4: the Mets that are gonna be taking part of that,
- 42:03Speaker 4: and especially Juan Soto and Nolan McLain. But then you
- 42:07Speaker 4: also got some other key guys taking part, Mark Fento's
- 42:10Speaker 4: lay Holmes, and I know I'm definitely forgetting another one.
- 42:13Speaker 2: Or two.
- 42:15Speaker 6: But I very much, Lindor, I think he was supposed
- 42:20Speaker 6: to go. Well, he was supposed to be money they
- 42:24Speaker 6: can't get available insurance. But the Mets said no. And
- 42:28Speaker 6: the same goes for some of the other Puerto Rican
- 42:30Speaker 6: stars across the league, like Carlos Carea, Hobby Bye, as
- 42:33Speaker 6: I know, they were supposed to take part.
- 42:35Speaker 3: Yeah, MLB said no. They put the kabash on the
- 42:38Speaker 3: whole idea.
- 42:40Speaker 1: Wow, well that'll be It should be an interesting tournament.
- 42:43Speaker 1: And of course Yankee fans gonna hold their breath that
- 42:45Speaker 1: Aaron Judge is gonna hit by a pitch or something
- 42:47Speaker 1: like that.
- 42:48Speaker 4: Mess up his foot on an outfield fense too. I mean,
- 42:50Speaker 4: they don't need more of that.
- 42:52Speaker 1: Oh no, they don't. So we'll have to see with that.
- 42:54Speaker 1: But one other item before we go, because you know
- 42:58Speaker 1: I've said good luck coach multiple times. He now has
- 43:02Speaker 1: mister Rick Patino third place and all time coaches. I mean,
- 43:06Speaker 1: and we talked about this little before loot. He should
- 43:08Speaker 1: be getting way more. He should be really up there
- 43:11Speaker 1: in the thousands at this point. But nine hundred and
- 43:14Speaker 1: four and again do it against his son, against his
- 43:16Speaker 1: son in overtime.
- 43:17Speaker 2: I mean his son did a hell of a job
- 43:20Speaker 2: last night, sixteen and a half point underdogs, and they
- 43:22Speaker 2: took him overtime and probably should have won the game
- 43:25Speaker 2: in regulation.
- 43:26Speaker 1: But STENI Mary Cold City.
- 43:29Speaker 3: At least Saint John's keeping a red hot.
- 43:31Speaker 2: For us, that's absolutely and that peak ant what all
- 43:34Speaker 2: these great coaches do in college. If you want to
- 43:38Speaker 2: call it college, it's really semi pro or NBA two.
- 43:43Speaker 2: We gotta give it a designation because it's not college anymore.
- 43:47Speaker 2: But they get all the great coaches, they get their
- 43:50Speaker 2: teams ready for the tournament right around this time, right
- 43:53Speaker 2: in February, and depending on the bracket that they're in,
- 43:58Speaker 2: I think Saint John has has a good chance to
- 44:02Speaker 2: go forward.
- 44:02Speaker 1: Have I seen They've beaten Yukon three times now since.
- 44:06Speaker 2: In a row.
- 44:07Speaker 1: That's it's remarkable, but you know what it is, It's
- 44:10Speaker 1: still an upset to me because you don't expect them
- 44:13Speaker 1: to win like that against Yukon any day of the week.
- 44:16Speaker 1: I mean, it just is. And the fact they dominated
- 44:18Speaker 1: them on on Friday was really interesting to watch. But no,
- 44:23Speaker 1: so he gets third place in all time coach wins,
- 44:26Speaker 1: and I think the big holdover, although Dylan Darling has
- 44:30Speaker 1: been great. Zoobie is really the guy that I keep
- 44:33Speaker 1: thinking about because he's the NBA player and he's really
- 44:36Speaker 1: been the main stat I mean, he kept that team
- 44:38Speaker 1: together last year. He's doing it this year too. Dylan
- 44:41Speaker 1: Darling doing great.
- 44:42Speaker 3: I mean you heard.
- 44:45Speaker 2: What Patino said about Darling after the Yukon game.
- 44:47Speaker 1: Right as like some of them has said, you know,
- 44:51Speaker 1: big balls or something.
- 44:52Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, balls as big as church bells.
- 44:56Speaker 1: Yeah exactly, yeah, yeah, he's not afraid to take a shot.
- 45:00Speaker 1: And then the other team I'm looking at and because
- 45:03Speaker 1: they keep popping on my radars, kids is another surprising
- 45:06Speaker 1: win last night.
- 45:08Speaker 2: Great win without their best player.
- 45:10Speaker 1: I mean, that team could go places and they always
- 45:13Speaker 1: find a way. That kid.
- 45:14Speaker 3: It just they always find a way to.
- 45:16Speaker 1: Knock out out of the first round.
- 45:17Speaker 2: Two.
- 45:18Speaker 1: It's very funny, but they always find a way in
- 45:20Speaker 1: that tournament. And then I don't know, they seem to
- 45:23Speaker 1: fall on their face.
- 45:24Speaker 2: In the I know how that happens, but well they
- 45:26Speaker 2: have one too, self has one two NCAA championships, So
- 45:30Speaker 2: I don't know what more you know you can say
- 45:34Speaker 2: as far as for falling on their face.
- 45:36Speaker 1: But again, the upsets are very interesting. I mean, they
- 45:39Speaker 1: could really do something here so well.
- 45:41Speaker 2: No doubt about it. I mean self again, Self is
- 45:43Speaker 2: getting his team ready for March Madness. You know, they
- 45:47Speaker 2: were number nine in the country this week. They won
- 45:49Speaker 2: last night they beat the undefeated number one team in
- 45:52Speaker 2: the country. And while I think the Big Ten is
- 45:55Speaker 2: the best conference in the country top to bottom basketball
- 45:59Speaker 2: wise and football wise, this year I think at the
- 46:04Speaker 2: at the top level, I think the Big Twelve, the
- 46:08Speaker 2: Big twelve top teams might be collectively the best, but
- 46:12Speaker 2: not not at the bottom.
- 46:13Speaker 1: I will you should come with us to blue Haven South.
- 46:15Speaker 1: We'll be watching the first day of the tournament. Bryan,
- 46:18Speaker 1: I have for a couple hours Joints will do a
- 46:20Speaker 1: live remote from one of the bars in the area.
- 46:22Speaker 2: There. Let's do it.
- 46:24Speaker 4: Yeah, live tournaminals shakes perspective on the one leg up network.
- 46:27Speaker 3: Who's gonna say no to that?
- 46:29Speaker 1: That would be fun?
- 46:31Speaker 3: But no, in all serious, It's gonna be a fun month. Look.
- 46:35Speaker 1: I saw Yukon's bus leave because I want to see
- 46:37Speaker 1: if I got a picture up early.
- 46:38Speaker 3: It didn't happen.
- 46:39Speaker 1: It was freezing cold, but I thought to myself, all right,
- 46:41Speaker 1: Yukon's leaving now, but they'll be back for the tournament
- 46:44Speaker 1: and they could still win this tournament.
- 46:45Speaker 3: Well the last time we see him, I mean, this
- 46:49Speaker 3: tournament feels up for Graps.
- 46:50Speaker 1: Even Sell has a good chance to do something because
- 46:53Speaker 1: they really shaped up. And I'm proud of Shikan Holloway
- 46:56Speaker 1: the way he's turn around that or that program.
- 46:59Speaker 2: The game the other night they lose, but it was
- 47:04Speaker 2: a game that at the end of the year, you're
- 47:08Speaker 2: just gonna gnash your teeth of your seat and wholebacker
- 47:10Speaker 2: because they had that game in the in their back
- 47:13Speaker 2: pocket and a couple of things went against them and
- 47:17Speaker 2: they lost it. They lost with two point five seconds
- 47:19Speaker 2: to go on a three pointer.
- 47:21Speaker 3: But the backers.
- 47:22Speaker 1: You know, Repelle made himself seem like or whatever Repeley
- 47:26Speaker 1: stables is that the second are there two big coaches
- 47:28Speaker 1: down because it looks like Repelly's coaching with Patino on
- 47:31Speaker 1: the sideline. It's so funny how closely is the action
- 47:33Speaker 1: with that.
- 47:34Speaker 2: Well, when you're when you're giving them that much money,
- 47:36Speaker 2: I guess you'd get a chance to sit there.
- 47:39Speaker 3: Why not, right?
- 47:40Speaker 1: And boy boy, did they do they need that? Because
- 47:44Speaker 1: we want to get in the general manager situation.
- 47:46Speaker 7: With that.
- 47:46Speaker 2: Yeah, No, I mean he's he was sick of again.
- 47:51Speaker 2: He's after a while, he gets sick of losing. And
- 47:53Speaker 2: no matter what it is, it's whether it's hiring Hobball
- 47:56Speaker 2: or having guy like uh don't.
- 48:00Speaker 1: Know, Steve Cohen buying his childhood team because he didn't
- 48:02Speaker 1: like the way the Wilponds were running it.
- 48:04Speaker 2: I mean, well, the one thing that Steve Cohen did
- 48:06Speaker 2: he made himself get bullied by David Sterns, and we
- 48:09Speaker 2: lost Diaz, which we shouldn't have and we didn't as
- 48:12Speaker 2: over money. That that's the weird thing. The Dodge three. Yeah,
- 48:17Speaker 2: I think the Dodgers out smart at Stern's because I
- 48:22Speaker 2: don't think stern Slawy was gonna lose him, and Sterns
- 48:25Speaker 2: just didn't want Alonzo, and I think if push came
- 48:29Speaker 2: to shove, Cohen wanted Alonzo, but he probably said, Okay,
- 48:34Speaker 2: this is the guy who hired for best the president
- 48:36Speaker 2: of baseball operations. Do I make him do his job?
- 48:39Speaker 2: And I guess that's what he did. But I'm telling you,
- 48:43Speaker 2: especially after all that talk about run prevention and then
- 48:46Speaker 2: they signed Polanco, who's a good switch hitter, and it's
- 48:50Speaker 2: played one game at first base in his entire career.
- 48:53Speaker 2: I don't get that, guys. You guys would have to
- 48:55Speaker 2: explain that to me.
- 48:56Speaker 3: I don't Yeah, I mean.
- 48:59Speaker 4: Now I could understand the logic, of course of wanting
- 49:02Speaker 4: to let go of Alonzo.
- 49:03Speaker 3: And look, he was a.
- 49:05Speaker 4: Fan fair it is one of my favorite players that said,
- 49:09Speaker 4: you know, power ding first baseman.
- 49:11Speaker 3: There's all the talk about them usually declining in their
- 49:14Speaker 3: thirties and five years.
- 49:16Speaker 4: I don't know, maybe it was a little bit questionable
- 49:19Speaker 4: to give to Pete. We'll know for certain what's the
- 49:22Speaker 4: contract is up. But to not even throw them an
- 49:25Speaker 4: offer knowing that you were out of it anyway, that
- 49:27Speaker 4: just doesn't sit right with me. And also with the
- 49:30Speaker 4: whole Diaz situation and losing him over three million more
- 49:35Speaker 4: dollars that the Dodgers could guarantee him. And it's become
- 49:38Speaker 4: a theme Blue that the Mets are more or less
- 49:42Speaker 4: just being used by these stars you really want to
- 49:45Speaker 4: go play for the Dodgers or for other teams. They're
- 49:47Speaker 4: using the Mets as leverage, and especially in their offer
- 49:53Speaker 4: to with the Dodgers. I mean, you look at Yoshi Yamamoto,
- 49:57Speaker 4: you look at Trevor Bauer even recently with Talker. They
- 50:00Speaker 4: all got good offers from the Mets, Yes, but they
- 50:03Speaker 4: were only using it as leverage to get money from
- 50:06Speaker 4: the team that they really wanted to go to the
- 50:09Speaker 4: West Coast Mets, if you will, and even with Steven
- 50:12Speaker 4: Metz and I mean we know Steve Cohen was very
- 50:15Speaker 4: vocal about it on his Twitter after that signing. Felt
- 50:19Speaker 4: Groom somehow he's able to pivot after the fact, to
- 50:23Speaker 4: go get Max Schurzer, Chris Bassett, Darling Martin among others,
- 50:27Speaker 4: to load up for the twenty twenty two season. I mean,
- 50:29Speaker 4: and just started his credit. He did definitely pivot, I
- 50:33Speaker 4: would say, in a good direction after losing Kyle Talker,
- 50:37Speaker 4: immediately getting that big bat with Bobaschet and finally for
- 50:42Speaker 4: the first time in over a calendar year unless you
- 50:44Speaker 4: want to count the call ups of Nolan McClain, Brandon
- 50:47Speaker 4: sprot Jonah Tongue for the first time in over a
- 50:50Speaker 4: calendar year, making a legitimate addition to the rotation in
- 50:53Speaker 4: Freddie Peralta. It was terrible to lose bro, don't get
- 50:56Speaker 4: me wrong, but they needed that frontline starter, no doubt
- 51:00Speaker 4: about it.
- 51:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I hope they and I hope they they extend
- 51:03Speaker 2: him Parolta. Yeah, so we'll see, we'll see what happens.
- 51:08Speaker 3: Yeah, we'll see what happens there.
- 51:10Speaker 4: And I mean the fact that he hasn't even thrown
- 51:12Speaker 4: a single inning for the Mets yet and is already
- 51:15Speaker 4: very vocal about wanting to stay long term in New York.
- 51:19Speaker 3: And that's that's a pretty good sign, a very good sign.
- 51:23Speaker 2: Yeah, they can start.
- 51:28Speaker 4: If you're a Mets fan, that they can just talk
- 51:31Speaker 4: terms and sign on the dotted lines sooner rather than later.
- 51:35Speaker 4: With Francisco Lindor happened, it could happen with as well.
- 51:39Speaker 1: One last thing, because I feel like baseball and football
- 51:42Speaker 1: have these same arguments every year.
- 51:44Speaker 3: Our teams are something.
- 51:45Speaker 1: But yet we get so pissed to them. Yet we'll
- 51:48Speaker 1: be back in the seats in April, right. I feel
- 51:50Speaker 1: like in the NFL, these people are who are mad
- 51:52Speaker 1: about bad Bunny, We'll still find a way to find.
- 51:54Speaker 3: The NFL next year.
- 51:55Speaker 1: So I hate all this complaining, like it just it's
- 51:57Speaker 1: just it's stupid to me, because we all know, no
- 52:00Speaker 1: matter how pissed off the leagues get us or these
- 52:02Speaker 1: teams get us, our ass is gonna be back in
- 52:04Speaker 1: the seat the same the very next year, would you
- 52:07Speaker 1: guys agree, No.
- 52:09Speaker 2: Doubt about it.
- 52:10Speaker 4: I mean, you look at the say of the Jets
- 52:13Speaker 4: right after the Super Bowl releasing a hype video already
- 52:16Speaker 4: for twenty twenty six, and you know there's gonna be
- 52:18Speaker 4: a lot of fans that are gonna be excited for
- 52:21Speaker 4: the future. I'm sure you might feel the same way
- 52:23Speaker 4: about this. Loue the Jets fan, and he really does too.
- 52:26Speaker 4: What they can do as far as the draft goes,
- 52:29Speaker 4: and if they decide to sign a stop gap option,
- 52:33Speaker 4: I mean there's really a QB. There's really nowhere to
- 52:35Speaker 4: go but up, and I mean that's a pretty easy
- 52:37Speaker 4: way to reel me back and do the Jets.
- 52:40Speaker 2: I hear no, I hear you one thousand.
- 52:44Speaker 1: All right, boys, Well we have some this because we
- 52:47Speaker 1: do deal with news breaking news. The Guthrie case has
- 52:51Speaker 1: some video footage, and I'm praying for the Guthrie family,
- 52:55Speaker 1: but I'm also praying that she gets to go to
- 52:56Speaker 1: Milana the least some point with a happy story.
- 52:59Speaker 2: I do think he's not going to Milan. Well, if
- 53:04Speaker 2: she's not.
- 53:05Speaker 3: Alex the poor.
- 53:06Speaker 2: Woman, if you watch her on video, is so exhausted,
- 53:13Speaker 2: won't You won't see her in Milan or the Today Show,
- 53:17Speaker 2: I bet you for three four weeks. If everything is
- 53:20Speaker 2: settled today, on the positive side, you will not see
- 53:23Speaker 2: it for three four weeks.
- 53:24Speaker 4: Because then there's also just a huge emotional toll to
- 53:27Speaker 4: recover from. Yes, And I mean even if you even
- 53:30Speaker 4: if this was all resolved in a minute from now
- 53:34Speaker 4: and you flew her ten eleven hours without of Milan,
- 53:38Speaker 4: you just aren't gonna be in that right headspace, that
- 53:41Speaker 4: right mindset to go host the Olympics and all that.
- 53:46Speaker 3: I mean, there's just no way.
- 53:47Speaker 4: And at the end of the day, the best thing
- 53:50Speaker 4: she could really be doing is just taking time for
- 53:52Speaker 4: herself and her family there. So I absolutely cannot falter
- 53:57Speaker 4: her having to drop out of this as much I'm
- 54:00Speaker 4: sure she didn't, she had to. And of course, even
- 54:03Speaker 4: if this thing gets resolved before the end of the Olympics,
- 54:06Speaker 4: I cannot falter that bit because the Olympics will wait.
- 54:10Speaker 3: For sure, you gotta.
- 54:12Speaker 1: Wait a few minutes ago saying we believe she's still alive.
- 54:15Speaker 1: So there's some hope here, which is I hope so
- 54:19Speaker 1: news to report, But I mean, this happens a week
- 54:22Speaker 1: before she's supposed to go to cover the Olympics. It's heartbreaking,
- 54:25Speaker 1: all of it. And of course, as much as we
- 54:28Speaker 1: love sports, we're also humans and we have to pray
- 54:31Speaker 1: for her and the guth three family. This is just horrible.
- 54:34Speaker 2: It's horrible. I mean it's horrible.
- 54:37Speaker 1: But for now, on a lighter note, another Terminilo's take,
- 54:42Speaker 1: we won't be very kind of about because of bad
- 54:44Speaker 1: Bunny or anything like that. We'll be back watching them
- 54:47Speaker 1: next year, I'm sure for sure. And RN will be
- 54:49Speaker 1: an opening day for the Mets, so you know, you
- 54:51Speaker 1: can't get too many of these guys.
- 54:53Speaker 4: Yeah, we'll get to watch Paul Skiins and maybe Freddy
- 54:55Speaker 4: fer All to pitch come Mark March twenty sixth. We'll
- 54:59Speaker 4: be ashamed of that have to miss out on the
- 55:02Speaker 4: MLB on NBC's coverage of that game, but you know,
- 55:05Speaker 4: it is what it is, right, and seeing Anthony Rizzo,
- 55:09Speaker 4: Clayton Kershaw and Joey Vado as three of the top
- 55:15Speaker 4: members of the NBC team being announced just the other day,
- 55:19Speaker 4: I'm very much looking forward to that Batto.
- 55:22Speaker 3: It's got a great personality. I know he will do
- 55:24Speaker 3: well in the booth.
- 55:25Speaker 4: Rizzo i know he's he's been a pre game host
- 55:27Speaker 4: if I'm not mistaken travel so I know Kershaw.
- 55:32Speaker 3: I'm very interested in seeing how he does.
- 55:35Speaker 1: In the booth.
- 55:35Speaker 3: I think he can do well there.
- 55:37Speaker 7: And to Benetti, uh, one of the voices on the LB,
- 55:44Speaker 7: that's gonna be a very good hire for them, no
- 55:46Speaker 7: question about it.
- 55:48Speaker 4: Da is tremendous now he's He's absolutely phenomenal at what
- 55:53Speaker 4: he does.
- 55:54Speaker 1: Then, and you know what, Louis, I'm gonna try and
- 55:55Speaker 1: see Chris Carino tomorrow because I'm actually going the net
- 55:58Speaker 1: game thanks to a sports networking event tomorrow night. So okay,
- 56:02Speaker 1: maybe I'll stop buying and see Chris Carino and give
- 56:04Speaker 1: them good word before you and Hey, absolutely all these
- 56:07Speaker 1: guys on the show, because there's no reason why they
- 56:10Speaker 1: can't join packs perspective or one leg up. Alex and
- 56:13Speaker 1: Lou get these guys on.
- 56:15Speaker 2: I was supposed that we was Corrino and I was
- 56:17Speaker 2: without a lunch a couple of weeks ago and we
- 56:19Speaker 2: couldn't settle on a date, so I I got to
- 56:21Speaker 2: reach out to him.
- 56:23Speaker 1: There you go. Well, Lou always fun ay on Tomado's take.
- 56:26Speaker 1: We do pray for the gu three family uh, for
- 56:30Speaker 1: USA Hockey to kick ass in Milan and bring us
- 56:34Speaker 1: some gold, right geis?
- 56:36Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, I don't want to be heartbroken again.
- 56:40Speaker 4: There's only so much heartbreak that anybody's rust from USA Hockey.
- 56:46Speaker 3: So thoughts and priers, and how old were you when
- 56:48Speaker 3: twenty ten happened? Eight years old? Well, you know, technically
- 56:52Speaker 3: seven because I was a July eighth.
- 56:53Speaker 1: But you must have been pretty said too, I mean,
- 56:55Speaker 1: did you follow it?
- 56:55Speaker 3: Becking? No, I didn't really follow, not set closely. But
- 56:59Speaker 3: you know, I still had a sense of nationalism at
- 57:00Speaker 3: that age too. Of course I want to see.
- 57:02Speaker 1: My country do well.
- 57:03Speaker 3: So there's a it was a bit of a bummer.
- 57:06Speaker 1: It was because it was such a great I mean.
- 57:09Speaker 2: The only game that they lost was the gold medal game.
- 57:13Speaker 1: And they had won all those games and Miller was
- 57:16Speaker 1: unbelievable in net and I just thought this, and they
- 57:19Speaker 1: beat Canada in a round robin.
- 57:22Speaker 2: They beat Canada in a round robin.
- 57:26Speaker 3: Well, we'll have to.
- 57:26Speaker 1: See how that plays out. And you know what, I
- 57:28Speaker 1: might go to Brian Park and do some curling. It's
- 57:30Speaker 1: warming up now, so if I do some curling, I'll
- 57:34Speaker 1: let you guys know.
- 57:35Speaker 3: Well, the One Leg Up Alex Socials.
- 57:39Speaker 1: There you go, Lou Terminilla, Ryan Paggs and Alex Grrett
- 57:42Speaker 1: breaking it down for you. You're at after the bad guys.
- 57:45Speaker 3: I'm always a pleasure to be on with the both
- 57:47Speaker 3: of you.
- 57:48Speaker 1: All right, One leg Up Alex and Lou Terminilla.
- 57:51Speaker 3: Talk to sh
