- 1:17Speaker 1: Jordan Mason on the Vikings is going to score this week.
- 1:20Speaker 1: I like Sakwon Barkley to have a bounce back and
- 1:23Speaker 1: have more than eighty seven and a half rushing yards.
- 1:26Speaker 1: I also like Bijon Robinson and that trash ass Falcons
- 1:29Speaker 1: offense a shot of I mean, Falcons are terrible. They
- 1:32Speaker 1: lost thirty to nothing to the Panthers this week. I
- 1:35Speaker 1: like him to have more than twenty six and a
- 1:37Speaker 1: half receiving yards. And I like the rookie from the
- 1:41Speaker 1: Panthers to have his name's tet Titch or Chitch McMillan.
- 1:46Speaker 1: McMillan is his name, all right, I mess up his
- 1:49Speaker 1: first name to have more than sixty two and a
- 1:51Speaker 1: half receiving yards. That is my lineup for the week.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Make sure you play it and don't forget to use
- 1:57Speaker 1: that promo code Bootleg play five bucks and get fifty
- 2:00Speaker 1: dollars in lineup. Let's get to the interview. Who that podcast?
- 2:06Speaker 1: We hear man? We got a special guest, one of
- 2:08Speaker 1: my favorite DJs, one of the Goats, DJ Snake. Welcome sir.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Howre you doing? Bro? Hey? Man? I gotta say I
- 2:14Speaker 1: saw you. Last time I saw you was in Thailand.
- 2:18Speaker 1: It was your first time I believed doing a headlining
- 2:21Speaker 1: hip hop festival. Set was that. I know, there was
- 2:25Speaker 1: like the there was like a big deal about that
- 2:26Speaker 1: set because you did all hip hop at Rolling Loud
- 2:29Speaker 1: in Thailand. Yeah. Uh it was fun. That was fun. Yeah,
- 2:33Speaker 1: I loved it. Yeah, it was different. Thailand's a crazy place, man,
- 2:36Speaker 1: So much fun out there. Yeah, Bro, And good crowd,
- 2:39Speaker 1: good crowd vibes, food is fire. Yeah, it's amazing. First
- 2:44Speaker 1: of all, Man, I want to say I always got
- 2:46Speaker 1: to give you props because you know, I was living
- 2:49Speaker 1: in Vegas in like twenty ten eleven twelve when like
- 2:52Speaker 1: the EEDM pop started to really happen, and like during
- 2:57Speaker 1: that time is when you would see all of these
- 3:00Speaker 1: guys come to town and they weren't necessarily really DJ
- 3:04Speaker 1: and a lot of guys they would have these like
- 3:05Speaker 1: pre planned sets on and able ten and they were
- 3:08Speaker 1: kind of just like twisting knobs. And but you still
- 3:12Speaker 1: are like true to the ship. Like you're the only
- 3:14Speaker 1: guy I see who's on your level that does the
- 3:16Speaker 1: type of ship you do that's still using turntables and serato.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Which is a nightmare for like my team on big
- 3:22Speaker 2: stages and stuff like yo, can you imagine.
- 3:25Speaker 1: That because the writer, because everybody else is on. Yeah,
- 3:28Speaker 1: even like the like the stage is always like moving,
- 3:32Speaker 1: we jump around. Course, do you use needles still or
- 3:36Speaker 1: do you use the yeah needles, but like most of
- 3:38Speaker 1: the time just to be safe, like I played the
- 3:40Speaker 1: phase joints or use yeah, like the internal mode on
- 3:45Speaker 1: theto but yeah, you'll mix it.
- 3:48Speaker 2: I'm just lazy everything. Everybody thinks that I do that
- 3:51Speaker 2: for the culture. I'm just lazy to switch.
- 3:52Speaker 1: That's it. It's funny because I've watched you, h I've
- 3:55Speaker 1: watched you and how you have your Q points set up. Yeah,
- 3:58Speaker 1: And like it's brilliant because when you have the internal
- 4:01Speaker 1: mode the way you do it, you have your Q
- 4:03Speaker 1: points set up like, yeah, that's what I do on
- 4:05Speaker 1: the plane yeah, every song like no, it's it's it's
- 4:09Speaker 1: it's great man. But for you man, like you know,
- 4:12Speaker 1: I want to go back. I didn't know that you
- 4:13Speaker 1: you started doing graffiti back in the day. Yeah. Well
- 4:16Speaker 1: I was really young, like you were like like outside
- 4:19Speaker 1: like twelve thirteen. Yeah, were you like, uh getting to
- 4:23Speaker 1: the point where you were like kind of known in
- 4:24Speaker 1: that community in your hometown.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Yeah, because you know, like the I had like some
- 4:28Speaker 2: big graffiti artists in my building, like some ogs, like
- 4:32Speaker 2: right in Paris, and he was everywhere, you know, that
- 4:36Speaker 2: type of artist that's like you go to Amsterdam and
- 4:40Speaker 2: at the train station is like he's having like the
- 4:42Speaker 2: biggest like big refity ever and you're like, damn, that
- 4:46Speaker 2: dude's everywhere. Like he was one of the eros, you know,
- 4:48Speaker 2: like from the city, and I wanted to do like him,
- 4:51Speaker 2: you know. So I started doing this on the trains everywhere,
- 4:54Speaker 2: and I was like, you.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Know, my name was Snake.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Yeah, because everyone was getting arrested by the police. But
- 5:01Speaker 2: I was young, and I was like I was running fast,
- 5:04Speaker 2: you can get away, yes, all the time, and until
- 5:07Speaker 2: I got caught and I got in trouble, and my
- 5:09Speaker 2: mom was like, yo, you gotta relax.
- 5:11Speaker 1: What what was the sketchiest shit you got into where
- 5:15Speaker 1: you had to run from the cops or because for
- 5:17Speaker 1: people who don't know, like when you do are a
- 5:19Speaker 1: graffiti artist, it is while you're hitting your pieces, like
- 5:22Speaker 1: it's stressful, like.
- 5:23Speaker 2: It's super dangerous or so because you know, I was
- 5:26Speaker 2: doing the train a lot.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Which is probably insane.
- 5:29Speaker 2: It's crazy because sometimes you know, you do the train,
- 5:32Speaker 2: but there was another train coming in the nights and
- 5:34Speaker 2: it doesn't stop. So when you're like twelve thirteen, like
- 5:37Speaker 2: it's ridiculous, Like this is the butt of close calls. Yeah,
- 5:40Speaker 2: like don't do that kids, Like it's really dangerous. And
- 5:44Speaker 2: and then I got into music, you know.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I feel like it's obviously a natural
- 5:48Speaker 1: progression because it's one of the elements of hip hop.
- 5:50Speaker 1: It's graffiti, you know. Yeah, it's easy. You know, like
- 5:53Speaker 1: I try to wrap. I was bad. I try to dance.
- 5:56Speaker 1: I was bad. How bad were you wrapping? Now? And
- 5:58Speaker 1: like how hard did you try? Did you record anything? No?
- 6:01Speaker 1: Yeah I did. I did, Like I'm a homie place,
- 6:05Speaker 1: you know, like he used to wrap, but I was
- 6:07Speaker 1: so bad. Did you go by snake as a rapper. No, no,
- 6:09Speaker 1: I have no name yet. I was. I was a kid.
- 6:11Speaker 1: It just fucking off, just writing lyrics like yeah, you know,
- 6:13Speaker 1: playing around pro tools and shit, yeah, you know, rapping
- 6:16Speaker 1: on the shook ones, and of course it'd be shook ones,
- 6:21Speaker 1: you know.
- 6:21Speaker 2: I just I think the DJ was perfect for me. Yeah,
- 6:24Speaker 2: I was like shy you a little bit.
- 6:25Speaker 1: You know. Do you remember, like, uh initially because this
- 6:31Speaker 1: when you first me and you were around the same age,
- 6:35Speaker 1: so I'm assuming when you first got into DJing it
- 6:37Speaker 1: was at the beginning of maybe the beginning of the
- 6:40Speaker 1: end of vinyl and the beginning of serrado. Is that fair? No, No,
- 6:44Speaker 1: I was like fully vinyl vinyl yet, because I was
- 6:47Speaker 1: touring with like with Crates. So the vinyl thing for
- 6:50Speaker 1: back then, like it was a lot harder and a
- 6:52Speaker 1: lot more expensive for you to like get into this
- 6:56Speaker 1: thing because you had to buy doubles. A lot of
- 6:58Speaker 1: people would buy doubles of records, of course, was not cheap.
- 7:01Speaker 1: What was like your do you remember like your first
- 7:03Speaker 1: like pieces of vinyl that you bought that you were
- 7:05Speaker 1: able to kind of like do doubles with cut back
- 7:08Speaker 1: and forth with. I think that was a gangster records. Gangster, Yeah,
- 7:12Speaker 1: just to get it up. Oh hell yeah, yeah that's
- 7:15Speaker 1: fire like huge. Did you prom your fan? Of course?
- 7:18Speaker 1: And uh yeah, I had like those records like double
- 7:22Speaker 1: doing like it's like you gotta have both to kind
- 7:24Speaker 1: of like practice of course of course did you? So
- 7:28Speaker 1: from that point until what point do you feel comfortable
- 7:31Speaker 1: where you have enough creates of records to be able
- 7:33Speaker 1: to go to a party. Do you feel comfortable?
- 7:36Speaker 2: Yeah too, yeah too, you know you need the big records,
- 7:39Speaker 2: you know.
- 7:40Speaker 1: A couple of years? Was it like a year? Like
- 7:42Speaker 1: I would say, how long is that process where you
- 7:44Speaker 1: like are comfortable, like, okay, I know what I'm doing. Yeah,
- 7:46Speaker 1: a couple of years, three years at least, I want
- 7:48Speaker 1: to go to a party. Now you had, like you know,
- 7:50Speaker 1: you needed all the his classic records. You got to
- 7:53Speaker 1: be able to put together like a two hour set, yeah,
- 7:54Speaker 1: the song for the girls, you know, like, yeah, you
- 7:57Speaker 1: needed like a lot. But you know what I appreciate
- 7:59Speaker 1: about back then was requests weren't as possible like let
- 8:05Speaker 1: me the fuck alone. I brought what I brought. I
- 8:07Speaker 1: don't have it, sorry, I don't have it. Well, nowadays
- 8:10Speaker 1: people be like let me drop YouTube, I can drop you. Yeah,
- 8:15Speaker 1: funk out of here. No, do you even deal with
- 8:18Speaker 1: that to this point? Like, because I'm sure you dj
- 8:20Speaker 1: for like some of the most like elite, richest motherfuckers
- 8:23Speaker 1: alive sometimes in the crowd or at the clubs with
- 8:25Speaker 1: you at a certain point, Like do you remember the
- 8:29Speaker 1: last time you took a request while DJing.
- 8:31Speaker 2: I think that was like Connor, Mike Gregor or some
- 8:33Speaker 2: ship you know in Vegas, like you won and he
- 8:37Speaker 2: came to celebrate the body with us, and and he
- 8:40Speaker 2: asked me some biggie, like you play biggie only.
- 8:44Speaker 1: That's a great request. I mean, yeah, you know, I
- 8:46Speaker 1: didn't mind. And he's a cool guy, you know, like,
- 8:48Speaker 1: and plus he won, you know, yeah, you know there
- 8:50Speaker 1: was a moment, a moment, and then I'm fine with biggie.
- 8:53Speaker 1: I can play biggie all night. That makes sense. Man,
- 8:56Speaker 1: talk to me. Uh this new album back in business?
- 9:00Speaker 1: Uh no, I'm sorry you have new you have you
- 9:03Speaker 1: have three songs on the New Shoreline album. Uh. Yeah.
- 9:06Speaker 1: By the way, the New Shoreline album, it's like top
- 9:09Speaker 1: ten album of the year for me. I just told, oh,
- 9:11Speaker 1: geez this when I saw him last week that Shoreline
- 9:14Speaker 1: Twins record. I don't know if you did that one,
- 9:15Speaker 1: but that songs fucking crazy. But which records did you
- 9:18Speaker 1: do on that album? I forgot which one?
- 9:20Speaker 2: Aaron helped me on this one, remember all the because
- 9:24Speaker 2: we we had so many songs together.
- 9:25Speaker 1: Like, yeah, like was was was that initially you connected
- 9:30Speaker 1: with g Z or was it a phoenix flexing thing
- 9:31Speaker 1: or like how did you get first? You know?
- 9:33Speaker 2: But both my boys and super Humble guys, you know,
- 9:38Speaker 2: like they came to Vegas to party with us.
- 9:41Speaker 1: We connected. You know. It's like there's such an LA
- 9:44Speaker 1: like so important to LA culture and like, but I
- 9:46Speaker 1: didn't know how big they were, like to be honest
- 9:48Speaker 1: with you, but I knew it, but I knew like
- 9:51Speaker 1: who they are, but like like they are very very
- 9:56Speaker 1: like respected. No, they're here, and they influenced like all
- 9:59Speaker 1: this new LA shit that's going. It's like them and
- 10:01Speaker 1: Draco the Ruler kind of like influenced all this shit.
- 10:03Speaker 2: And I love it, you know, and to me, that
- 10:05Speaker 2: was fun. That was a good challenge to me to
- 10:07Speaker 2: do like those, to make those like West Coast type beats,
- 10:10Speaker 2: you know, because I love this vibe and yeah, I
- 10:14Speaker 2: want to make some more with them.
- 10:15Speaker 1: I feel like bpm wise too, like the worst for me,
- 10:17Speaker 1: well lines up with all your biggest hits. Yeah, bpm
- 10:20Speaker 1: wise one hundred Yeah, all right, so you end up
- 10:26Speaker 1: start doing the party ship, uh with with your crates
- 10:31Speaker 1: with Vinyl. At what point in time was ed M
- 10:36Speaker 1: kind of introduced into your repertoires of DJ because obviously
- 10:40Speaker 1: it wasn't necessarily the big I mean, I may be
- 10:45Speaker 1: in Europe it was different because I'm speaking from an
- 10:46Speaker 1: American perspective, but I'm assuming back then.
- 10:48Speaker 2: No, in Europe is different, especially Paris because you know
- 10:51Speaker 2: we had deat Punk, you know.
- 10:53Speaker 1: Deaft Punk is like so influential.
- 10:55Speaker 2: Yeah, national heroes, you know, and like justice like all
- 10:59Speaker 2: this clear you know, like this team of those guys
- 11:02Speaker 2: like were like killing it, David Ghetta, Bob Sinclair, Martin Selvagg,
- 11:07Speaker 2: all those guys. So we grew up with hip hop,
- 11:09Speaker 2: you know, because I'm from like Paris, and Paris is
- 11:12Speaker 2: like the second market of hip hop in the world.
- 11:16Speaker 2: So it's like huge, like the hip hop culture and general. No, no,
- 11:18Speaker 2: it's massive, Yeah, it's massive. So we grew up like
- 11:21Speaker 2: I grew up in the hoods, so it's all wrapped.
- 11:24Speaker 2: You know, there was no electronic dance music at all.
- 11:27Speaker 2: But like we like around like the like ninety eight,
- 11:32Speaker 2: you know, like when daft punk was like on fire,
- 11:34Speaker 2: like all those guys, the French Church and everything like
- 11:37Speaker 2: that was really interesting to me. Like we used to
- 11:39Speaker 2: go out in the club and certain clubs didn't play
- 11:42Speaker 2: hip hop. They were playing like house. It was still
- 11:44Speaker 2: a vibe. So I was like, you know what, that's interesting,
- 11:47Speaker 2: But I was not ready. You know, it's late, late late.
- 11:50Speaker 2: When I got tired of playing those same hip hop
- 11:53Speaker 2: nights in Paris, I was like, you know what I
- 11:55Speaker 2: want to do this, Yeah, I want to play like
- 11:57Speaker 2: at least like fifteen minutes house, you know, a quick
- 12:01Speaker 2: like a session in in in the party, and people
- 12:04Speaker 2: were not trying to hear no house music.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Yeah, if you go to hip hop club, like I
- 12:09Speaker 1: own a club in Scottsdale that's strictly hip hop, and
- 12:12Speaker 1: I cannot imagine somebody. We actually book somebody once to
- 12:15Speaker 1: try to like do like eat like a couple of
- 12:18Speaker 1: E d M remixes of like some trap songs or
- 12:21Speaker 1: like yeah, yeah nobody was here the ship here, no,
- 12:25Speaker 1: you know, like if it's a hip hop party. So
- 12:27Speaker 1: people like I was.
- 12:28Speaker 2: I was the resident DJ in like one of the
- 12:30Speaker 2: most iconic club in Paris, like the very like rap
- 12:34Speaker 2: shit like Alchemist was playing there, like just playing everyone
- 12:39Speaker 2: was there, you know, like and I used to play
- 12:41Speaker 2: there like every week, and I was just tired to
- 12:44Speaker 2: play like the same records over and over, you know,
- 12:47Speaker 2: I was just tired of this ship. I was like,
- 12:49Speaker 2: let me try to, you know, to play like a
- 12:51Speaker 2: couple of records, like somehouse ship, like just to let
- 12:54Speaker 2: it breathe and I could go back to hip hop.
- 12:56Speaker 1: And people are like, no, I feel like you have
- 12:59Speaker 1: more free him as a DJ. And at that time
- 13:04Speaker 1: that was not the wave, you know, like people were
- 13:06Speaker 1: like going to a certain clubs to play of if
- 13:11Speaker 1: you're a d M, if you're gonna do an DM set,
- 13:13Speaker 1: you have more freedom because I feel like a hip
- 13:15Speaker 1: hop set, people want to hear hip hop records as
- 13:18Speaker 1: they know them. Yeah, as on the d M side,
- 13:22Speaker 1: you could kind of like you could play a bootleg
- 13:24Speaker 1: that nobody has ever heard because it's in the culture.
- 13:26Speaker 1: It's a part of It's.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Like the bootleg culture, like the remix culture. It's a
- 13:31Speaker 2: different type of energy. But I remember, I remember one
- 13:35Speaker 2: time I was playing in this club and someone threw
- 13:39Speaker 2: fos ones at me.
- 13:42Speaker 1: When I played like death punk one more time, they
- 13:45Speaker 1: threw forces at you. Yes, And this is the moment
- 13:47Speaker 1: where I was like, you know what, I gotta go
- 13:50Speaker 1: somewhere else. Fuck that such a big song. Yeah, the
- 13:54Speaker 1: guy was like, Yo, I'm going to spend the old
- 13:55Speaker 1: like the rest of the night with one shoe on
- 13:58Speaker 1: and and fuck like fuck that dude. Yeah, imagine that
- 14:01Speaker 1: guy was so mad you played that song that he
- 14:03Speaker 1: committed to walking around with one shoe the rest of exactly.
- 14:07Speaker 2: That's what I was trying to say in English, but
- 14:08Speaker 2: my English was not good enough. Fucking crazy, and I
- 14:12Speaker 2: was like fuck that, you know, like I'm out, I'm
- 14:14Speaker 2: gonna do something else. I want to start like you know,
- 14:16Speaker 2: playing like whatever the fuck I wants, you know. And
- 14:19Speaker 2: it was not easy because at that time, like the
- 14:21Speaker 2: open format thing was not a thing, you know that
- 14:23Speaker 2: there was. There was not the wave like you were
- 14:26Speaker 2: like hip hop or you were like electronic, no nothing between.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Hey, we got to stop the interview to tell you
- 14:31Speaker 1: about our good folks. Odd socks, man, Now these are
- 14:34Speaker 1: the odd Socks Basics, ladies and gentlemen. Now when I
- 14:37Speaker 1: tell you this is a product that every single day
- 14:41Speaker 1: I'm alive for the last five six years I have
- 14:46Speaker 1: used are these odd Socks Basics. Now, what odd Socks
- 14:48Speaker 1: is doing is they're kind of reinventing the sock game
- 14:51Speaker 1: for being honest and the underwear game. You know, a
- 14:53Speaker 1: lot of times you'll hit Walmart, you'll hit Target, you'll
- 14:55Speaker 1: get some socks, you get some draws. They're affordable, band
- 14:58Speaker 1: up with holes in them. They don't really feel great,
- 15:02Speaker 1: not odd Socks, Ladies and gentlemen. These odd Socks Basics
- 15:05Speaker 1: are the most comfortable socks I've ever had on my feet.
- 15:08Speaker 1: Not only that, but you're super affordable. Fourteen ninety nine
- 15:13Speaker 1: for a six pack. That's it oddsocks dot Com. And
- 15:18Speaker 1: if you don't believe me, sock check full. Wait that's
- 15:23Speaker 1: the ex is on the other side. There we go. Ah,
- 15:26Speaker 1: you see that. Sorry you had to see those white legs.
- 15:30Speaker 1: But it's so dope that you know, I get to
- 15:33Speaker 1: push a product that I use and that I love,
- 15:35Speaker 1: So odd Socks they got the six pack of socks
- 15:38Speaker 1: for fourteen ninety nine at odd socks dot Com. The basics.
- 15:41Speaker 1: This is the future of socks, the future of underwear,
- 15:46Speaker 1: comfort and affordability. I'm talking about affordability without jeopardizing the
- 15:50Speaker 1: quality because they are the most comfortable socks you ever
- 15:52Speaker 1: put on your feet. Ladies and gents and the Etcetera's
- 15:56Speaker 1: got to show love to the ETCeteras we like all
- 15:58Speaker 1: the stripes on the flag. There are odd socks dot
- 16:01Speaker 1: com man, much love to my brothers over there. Make
- 16:03Speaker 1: sure you get some right now, odd socks dot COM's
- 16:06Speaker 1: get back to the interview. A lot of hip hop shows,
- 16:08Speaker 1: I'm sure come to Paris, right, Were you able to
- 16:10Speaker 1: like open up for any anybody, Like.
- 16:12Speaker 2: Yeah, Snoop I did, Snoop I did, Lilu Wayne, I did,
- 16:16Speaker 2: like a couple of things. I was young, Like when
- 16:19Speaker 2: you see like those pictures, I was like seventeen years old,
- 16:22Speaker 2: like you know, a baby.
- 16:23Speaker 1: You were like a prodigy out there going crazy. Yeah,
- 16:26Speaker 1: I mean learning, you know, learning so fast forward. When
- 16:29Speaker 1: does the EDM shit really start to like work where
- 16:33Speaker 1: you're like, oh, is it? Like, do you you start
- 16:35Speaker 1: expanding the production side? Was there a moment because we
- 16:39Speaker 1: knew you? I feel like when you were already a
- 16:42Speaker 1: thing in that world. When was this the transition from
- 16:46Speaker 1: you like doing hip hop clubs, fucking around with EDM clubs,
- 16:50Speaker 1: and then that turning into like, oh, maybe I want
- 16:53Speaker 1: to put out a record. Maybe I'm want to probably
- 16:55Speaker 1: mix it my own shit.
- 16:57Speaker 2: Probably like two thousand and seven thousand, yeah, two thousand
- 17:01Speaker 2: and six, down seven, two thousand and eight. I was
- 17:04Speaker 2: watching a lot of videos from DJ am Oh yeah,
- 17:07Speaker 2: shot to a man, Yeah by days, Yeah, And that
- 17:11Speaker 2: was not what I wanted to do. But I was like, Okay,
- 17:13Speaker 2: he's doing his thing, like mixing everything together in a
- 17:16Speaker 2: good way. He was like the mashup guy, the guy
- 17:18Speaker 2: who made that ship a thing in the flyaway, and
- 17:22Speaker 2: and that was really interesting, you know. So and then
- 17:25Speaker 2: I started producing, you know, I wanted to make my
- 17:28Speaker 2: own music, and it took a long time.
- 17:31Speaker 1: What was do you remember the first song that you remixed?
- 17:37Speaker 1: Maybe you made like a bootleg of or you made
- 17:39Speaker 1: like the first song where you were like, yo, maybe
- 17:41Speaker 1: it's a like DJ's snake edite I pick. I think
- 17:44Speaker 1: that was like.
- 17:47Speaker 2: The ODB record, like ya like house remix fire, But
- 17:51Speaker 2: don't check it out on the internet.
- 17:53Speaker 1: You don't want to hear that? Is it? Still there.
- 17:54Speaker 2: I think I'm gonna I'm gonna pay something, he said, nobody.
- 17:57Speaker 1: Now that we've advertised it, by the time you see this,
- 17:59Speaker 1: it'll be deleted. What do you like like back then?
- 18:05Speaker 1: Is there's not Ableton back then? What do you like?
- 18:07Speaker 1: What do you first of all? Like, what were you
- 18:08Speaker 1: using to produce on then? Reason? Reason? Are Are you
- 18:12Speaker 1: still using reason? What do you use? No? No, I'm
- 18:14Speaker 1: not a built it now? Yeah, Ableton, I feel like
- 18:17Speaker 1: in terms of just like an interface for that, it's
- 18:20Speaker 1: the best ship. I mean everyone's you know saying like
- 18:23Speaker 1: everyone's got pro tools, I got the thing. Some people
- 18:25Speaker 1: use logic, but yeah, like I feel like I've seen
- 18:27Speaker 1: like on Ableton, like you can like it's got the
- 18:30Speaker 1: grid with the bpm. It's like if you're doing DJ
- 18:33Speaker 1: shit like any it's super easy.
- 18:35Speaker 2: But like people on the on pree Loops are saying
- 18:37Speaker 2: the same thing, and everyone has their own thing, you
- 18:40Speaker 2: know at the end of the day is just like
- 18:42Speaker 2: the idea is like your vision one hundred percent.
- 18:46Speaker 1: Uh So you got a new album on the way, Yeah,
- 18:49Speaker 1: it's coming out. Uh, I'm not going to say it.
- 18:51Speaker 1: We're not going to say right, We're not going to
- 18:52Speaker 1: say it, okay, but a new album is on the way,
- 18:55Speaker 1: yeah October, Okay, in October is this album? What is
- 19:01Speaker 1: kind of the direction of the album?
- 19:03Speaker 2: It's the same is some djsnake shit, you know, like
- 19:06Speaker 2: just is my third album, and uh and the first one,
- 19:10Speaker 2: the second one was like a bunch of everything, was
- 19:12Speaker 2: like a journey, like a mix of everything, like some
- 19:14Speaker 2: electronic shit, some rap shit, some some Afro, some house,
- 19:19Speaker 2: some Spanish.
- 19:21Speaker 1: You know, that's what I do. It's like a no,
- 19:23Speaker 1: you have a palette, man, you have a big pat
- 19:26Speaker 1: I mean if you just look at all your records
- 19:27Speaker 1: that have like really really like like.
- 19:29Speaker 2: I don't feel like doing like a project, like full
- 19:32Speaker 2: of the same shit.
- 19:33Speaker 1: Right, like a whole hip hop project.
- 19:35Speaker 2: No, just like a party like even my set, you know,
- 19:38Speaker 2: I can't do like a full like house set. That's
- 19:41Speaker 2: boring to me. Like I get very like I don't
- 19:44Speaker 2: know how to see this, but yeah, I get bored quick,
- 19:47Speaker 2: you know, pretty quick.
- 19:48Speaker 1: And it's have you ever like cause you and I
- 19:51Speaker 1: talked a little bit in Thailand. We're just talking about
- 19:54Speaker 1: just some of your favorite hip hop albums. I know
- 19:55Speaker 1: you're big Wu Tang guy, and you mentioned gang Star earlier.
- 19:59Speaker 1: Have you ever tried to reach out to like tap
- 20:03Speaker 1: In and like maybe do something because I feel like
- 20:06Speaker 1: you working with like ghost Face Killed would be crazy
- 20:08Speaker 1: or you working with like.
- 20:09Speaker 2: That's funny because I met with ghost Face in Saudi
- 20:13Speaker 2: Arabia a couple months ago. I mean like that was
- 20:16Speaker 2: back in December, I think on January, like the Wu
- 20:19Speaker 2: Tang was performing before me. Oh yeah, and backstage, you know,
- 20:22Speaker 2: I linked up with the ghost Face. We were talking
- 20:24Speaker 2: on ig and uh yeah, we love to do something
- 20:27Speaker 2: with it.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Like if we do like a boombab DJ snake banger.
- 20:31Speaker 2: Yeah that would be I mean, we got some ship
- 20:33Speaker 2: on the way to be honest, now we go now
- 20:36Speaker 2: we ghost Face Killer, but we got some ship that
- 20:38Speaker 2: you're going to.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Be on your album or just stuff that you know, yeah.
- 20:41Speaker 2: After the album that's for me. But like this is
- 20:44Speaker 2: from something else and that's tight. That's dope.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Yo. When was do you like like break me down?
- 20:50Speaker 1: Like because I feel like the DJ economy with the
- 20:54Speaker 1: boom of the DM boom that happened just kind of
- 20:57Speaker 1: changed where DJ started to kind of get the same
- 21:00Speaker 1: respect that like rock bands and like a list pop
- 21:03Speaker 1: stars would get in terms of like, you know, the money,
- 21:07Speaker 1: the headlining, you know, all this shit. Do you remember
- 21:11Speaker 1: the first time or the first gig that you had
- 21:15Speaker 1: and I don't want to be in your pockets or
- 21:16Speaker 1: anything where the money was so substantial that you had
- 21:19Speaker 1: to like be like what the fuck they won't pay
- 21:23Speaker 1: me how much? Yeah? Yeah?
- 21:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, bro, that's crazy because the first time
- 21:30Speaker 2: like my shit really blew up was after it turned
- 21:35Speaker 2: down for what you know, the record was number one
- 21:37Speaker 2: everywhere was massive. That was insane, and back then I
- 21:41Speaker 2: was like, I mean right before that, I was struggling
- 21:44Speaker 2: paying my rent, and like a months later, I was
- 21:47Speaker 2: number one everywhere, getting shows everywhere, and like everything went
- 21:53Speaker 2: pretty quick, like from one hundred. Yeah, and I couldn't
- 21:57Speaker 2: speak English at the time, so imagine me being from
- 22:01Speaker 2: Paris struggling, and like a week later, I mean a
- 22:04Speaker 2: month later, I'm like everywhere and everyone's reach out, like
- 22:08Speaker 2: reaching out to me, trying to work, trying to sign me,
- 22:11Speaker 2: trying to do deals, me, touring the world like like
- 22:16Speaker 2: getting offers and the money is crazy, and I'm like, bro,
- 22:20Speaker 2: I was like my fridge was empty like a month ago,
- 22:23Speaker 2: and now like I'm signing those deals like multi million deals,
- 22:27Speaker 2: you know, like.
- 22:29Speaker 1: And then at that time that's like a because I
- 22:30Speaker 1: was like twenty thirteen, right, yeah, and at that time,
- 22:33Speaker 1: that's like the craze, like peak craze of like they're
- 22:36Speaker 1: trying to find the next whoever. Yeah, you know, so
- 22:39Speaker 1: they're probably I'm sure you had everyone calling.
- 22:41Speaker 2: Yeah, everyone, and even the artists like yo, I mean
- 22:46Speaker 2: this artist wants to do a session with you.
- 22:47Speaker 1: This and this and.
- 22:48Speaker 2: That, and I'm touring and and I don't understand, like
- 22:51Speaker 2: I'm lost, you know, like I was like, what the
- 22:53Speaker 2: fuck is going on?
- 22:55Speaker 1: This is too much. What's crazy about that song too,
- 22:57Speaker 1: is that gave Little John like an entire other like
- 23:01Speaker 1: life of.
- 23:02Speaker 2: Yeah, shout out to John, like he changed my life,
- 23:05Speaker 2: you know, like I'm not going to say that, you know,
- 23:08Speaker 2: he blessed me with this because he was legend. He
- 23:11Speaker 2: was like he was not like super hot at the moment,
- 23:14Speaker 2: because even some people were like why Little John, like
- 23:18Speaker 2: you know, that's he's done whatever, And I'm like, bro,
- 23:22Speaker 2: the words like he's a legend. He's a legend, and
- 23:26Speaker 2: he's always going to come up with some you know
- 23:27Speaker 2: like h.
- 23:28Speaker 1: And then well the thing too is I think what
- 23:30Speaker 1: it's almost like him and Fat Man Scoop at a
- 23:32Speaker 1: certain point in time, God bless fat Man Scoop. Rest
- 23:34Speaker 1: in peace. Like if you're a DJ, you're playing like
- 23:38Speaker 1: some sort of like vocal track of like body breaks
- 23:40Speaker 1: or breaks. So little John, it's like it's just it's perfect.
- 23:44Speaker 1: It's just over some medium.
- 23:46Speaker 2: I wanted to do like a DJ too, right, Like
- 23:48Speaker 2: that was not like I was not even trying to
- 23:51Speaker 2: make like a hit record because to me, until this day,
- 23:53Speaker 2: I don't understand how that ship get big because, like,
- 23:56Speaker 2: like you said, like folks like four words and I
- 24:00Speaker 2: remember when you when you send me those vocals.
- 24:04Speaker 1: I was. I was telling my friend, I was like,
- 24:06Speaker 1: what does it mean? Like what is this ship like
- 24:09Speaker 1: turned down for what? Like because at the time you
- 24:11Speaker 1: don't speak English, no, so you don't understand. But I
- 24:14Speaker 1: was like that sounds hard to me. I don't know
- 24:16Speaker 1: what the fuck is saying, but that's hard. So I
- 24:18Speaker 1: was like, fuck it.
- 24:19Speaker 2: You know, we drop it for free on SoundCloud and
- 24:21Speaker 2: John was like, nah, we can. We can't drop it
- 24:24Speaker 2: for free. You trip it And I'm like, bro, I
- 24:26Speaker 2: don't know nobody. I don't have no labels. I don't
- 24:28Speaker 2: have no lawyer, I don't have no team, Like it's hard, Like,
- 24:31Speaker 2: let's give it to the DJs first and let's see
- 24:34Speaker 2: how it goes. And John was like you tripping, Like
- 24:36Speaker 2: we can't do that. We can get a big bag.
- 24:39Speaker 2: I was like, bro, which bag? Like, let's drop it first,
- 24:42Speaker 2: give it.
- 24:42Speaker 1: To the DJ So who won? Did you drop it first?
- 24:45Speaker 1: You dropped it first?
- 24:45Speaker 2: I dropped it first, you know, on my Sundcloud and
- 24:48Speaker 2: that ship was getting like one millium like plays every day,
- 24:51Speaker 2: boom boom boom boom boom.
- 24:52Speaker 1: It starts popping up and people and then people were.
- 24:54Speaker 2: Calling like Universal Sony like every labels, and they were
- 24:59Speaker 2: trying to more money, more money, And I.
- 25:01Speaker 1: Was like, John, you see it, it worked, And do
- 25:06Speaker 1: you remember who who the first? Like really big DJ
- 25:08Speaker 1: was who played it in their set that you were
- 25:10Speaker 1: like scritics play yeah.
- 25:12Speaker 2: Yeah, critics did Dipplo two a track like got to
- 25:16Speaker 2: a track? Yeah, like all those guys and then you
- 25:20Speaker 2: know like yeah, like mine, it was over. Yeah, my
- 25:23Speaker 2: life changed forever.
- 25:26Speaker 1: Damn. That's crazy man. Yeah, it's wild too because when
- 25:29Speaker 1: I when I was I was chopping up a little
- 25:30Speaker 1: John and he was saying essentially like he's like, Yo,
- 25:32Speaker 1: that record like gave me a whole new run and
- 25:35Speaker 1: put him in a new space. You know what I'm saying,
- 25:37Speaker 1: because yeah, he was a little John on the East
- 25:39Speaker 1: Side boys the crunk shit, you know what I'm saying.
- 25:40Speaker 1: So now it stope man. So for you, I want
- 25:45Speaker 1: to give you props because we talked a little bit
- 25:47Speaker 1: about this in Thailand. But you know, I've I've noticed
- 25:54Speaker 1: over the last year because the last time I saw
- 25:57Speaker 1: he was in November last year. What's been going on
- 26:01Speaker 1: in Palestine has been like undeniable that that you've seen
- 26:04Speaker 1: a lot more celebrities speak out that. I feel like
- 26:07Speaker 1: we're dead silent on on that, but I feel like,
- 26:11Speaker 1: you know, I appreciate you because you've been, you know,
- 26:15Speaker 1: very very as outspoken as you can be for somebody
- 26:18Speaker 1: who's a DJ, and for what's going on over in
- 26:22Speaker 1: Gosland in the West Bank and all that shit was
- 26:25Speaker 1: there because I know I dealt with it myself, talking
- 26:27Speaker 1: about it in interviews and posting stuff and people say, no,
- 26:30Speaker 1: you should take that down, You'll fuck your money up.
- 26:33Speaker 1: Is there anything that you dealt with negatively taking that stand?
- 26:36Speaker 1: And it's the right stand obviously staying with humanity, standing
- 26:39Speaker 1: with Yeah, you know.
- 26:40Speaker 2: I'm sure you know, like a lot of people were
- 26:42Speaker 2: like upset, you know, uh with me. But you know,
- 26:45Speaker 2: when you feel like you're doing something right, like whatever.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Happens happens, Yes, you let the cards fallowere they fall? Man? Yeah?
- 26:53Speaker 1: You know, like if you don't want to book me,
- 26:55Speaker 1: you don't you don't want to play my ship, you
- 26:56Speaker 1: don't want to do like I'm just trying to say,
- 26:58Speaker 1: you'll stop boone people that's just locked in like I
- 27:02Speaker 1: don't know how how many kilometers, but like, yeah, let's
- 27:05Speaker 1: just stop killing everybody. Yeah, that's just not right, you know.
- 27:08Speaker 1: And and it does like it doesn't matter like.
- 27:10Speaker 2: Where, like like the religion or like the color. If
- 27:14Speaker 2: that ship was happening in South Beach, that would be
- 27:16Speaker 2: the same thing. I would be like, Yo, don't fucking
- 27:18Speaker 2: bomb South's Beach for two years straight. You know that
- 27:20Speaker 2: makes no sense. And like the the collective punishments like
- 27:26Speaker 2: this is not right.
- 27:27Speaker 1: It's like illegal.
- 27:28Speaker 2: It's it's like, you know, if if some dudes from
- 27:31Speaker 2: like Hollywood like just start doing some crazy shit in
- 27:34Speaker 2: uh somewhere in New York, like it doesn't give the
- 27:38Speaker 2: rights to New Yorkers like to bomb like West Hollywood
- 27:42Speaker 2: all day, Like I mean, yeah, the U n the.
- 27:44Speaker 1: United Nations yesterday officially said they did an official boarder
- 27:49Speaker 1: commission and they officially the United Nations. This is this
- 27:54Speaker 1: is they said that they are committing a genocide. So
- 27:57Speaker 1: that's what the United Nations.
- 27:58Speaker 2: But like, go back to my tweets. I've been I've
- 28:00Speaker 2: been tweeting like this for like two years.
- 28:01Speaker 1: That what I'm saying is That's why I think it's
- 28:04Speaker 1: important to point out that, you know, a lot of
- 28:05Speaker 1: people I've noticed it's like I'm like, what were you?
- 28:08Speaker 1: Like this has been going on for years. But that's great.
- 28:11Speaker 1: You know, I'm not good. I'm not blaming nobody, you know,
- 28:13Speaker 1: like if you just woke up, welcome, right, you know,
- 28:17Speaker 1: because we're not enough, like we like this, these things
- 28:20Speaker 1: needs to stop, like we need to go back to
- 28:24Speaker 1: to building together, like you know, like yeah, man, humanity bro,
- 28:27Speaker 1: Like you know, it's been two years. Like everyone is
- 28:29Speaker 1: like against each other, like posting like we wake up,
- 28:32Speaker 1: we we I mean.
- 28:34Speaker 2: I turn on my I checked I checked my my socials.
- 28:37Speaker 2: I see babies, you know, like dead on the floor
- 28:39Speaker 2: like blood. We don't want to see that.
- 28:41Speaker 1: Nobody wants to see it. Like we pray for everyone.
- 28:43Speaker 1: We want peace, you know, we we artists, you know,
- 28:46Speaker 1: we want to spread good vibes and good energy, like
- 28:49Speaker 1: I'm praying for the like for for everyone for sure,
- 28:52Speaker 1: because that she's not gonna go nowhere, because those kids,
- 28:55Speaker 1: like they're gonna they're gonna grow up and they're gonna
- 28:58Speaker 1: they're gonna ask for revenge, and that she's never gonna stop.
- 29:01Speaker 1: It's a never ending cycle exactly.
- 29:04Speaker 2: And when we say like free Palistine, we say free
- 29:06Speaker 2: Palistine because everybody deserve freedom, Like you can't live like this, yeah,
- 29:12Speaker 2: like not even animals. You know, if like you see
- 29:16Speaker 2: somebody doing this to animals, like.
- 29:19Speaker 1: Like in the United States, does they'd go to jail
- 29:21Speaker 1: for sure, exactly. So you know, I think we just
- 29:24Speaker 1: need to pray for like that sounds corny, but like
- 29:29Speaker 1: for peace. You know, we want to cease fire.
- 29:31Speaker 2: We want to we want to go back to normal
- 29:34Speaker 2: and shout out everyone to say we got love for everyone.
- 29:37Speaker 1: You know, it's not a it's not a it's not
- 29:40Speaker 1: a religion thing. It's not a racist humanity.
- 29:42Speaker 2: It's not it's just like a political thing. And uh
- 29:45Speaker 2: and Nathania who is a monster, you know, and fun that.
- 29:47Speaker 1: He's a monster. He should be in prison. And you
- 29:50Speaker 1: know I never vote for anything, you know, I don't.
- 29:52Speaker 1: I'm not into politics. But you know, we don't need
- 29:56Speaker 1: people like that, right and ever? Yeah, are you are?
- 30:00Speaker 1: Because I know in France, isn't there like a issue
- 30:03Speaker 1: with the with the government right now in France some
- 30:04Speaker 1: shit going on with the Macron. Are you like engaged
- 30:08Speaker 1: with that at all? Do you, like I'm not, you know,
- 30:10Speaker 1: we're one of the biggest stars out of the country.
- 30:12Speaker 2: Yeah, but you know, like I had some issues, you
- 30:15Speaker 2: know when when I was talking about Palestine, you know
- 30:18Speaker 2: in France.
- 30:18Speaker 1: Yeah, the president like like the office called my team
- 30:22Speaker 1: to be like, yo, take those tweets down because you
- 30:26Speaker 1: have such a huge influence that like you creating tension.
- 30:30Speaker 1: You know, everyone's gonna you know, well, and then I
- 30:33Speaker 1: think that people don't understand that they're there. Y'all don't
- 30:36Speaker 1: have free speech like we do technically. No, that's bullshit,
- 30:39Speaker 1: that's what I heard. I've heard. No, that's bullshit because
- 30:41Speaker 1: I don't think you have free speech. Oh no, no, no,
- 30:44Speaker 1: I don't think we do either, but I mean in
- 30:45Speaker 1: terms I think I think that we think that France
- 30:48Speaker 1: has like we have the First Amendment in the United States.
- 30:50Speaker 1: This is bullshit. And I don't disagree with you, by
- 30:53Speaker 1: the way, I'm aligned with you on that, Like this
- 30:55Speaker 1: is bullshit like anywhere in the world, like if you
- 30:58Speaker 1: cross the line, you cross the line, and you in
- 31:00Speaker 1: the danger zone. I'm telling you right now, because you know,
- 31:04Speaker 1: I was. I was very loud. I was very loud,
- 31:07Speaker 1: and they didn't like that.
- 31:10Speaker 2: And until this day, my Twitter is shadow ban wow,
- 31:14Speaker 2: until this day because they don't want me to, you know,
- 31:17Speaker 2: to express myself and to tell.
- 31:19Speaker 1: Did you end up taking the tweets down? No, it's
- 31:21Speaker 1: still on, Like.
- 31:22Speaker 2: I have like a hundred thousand with tweets and everything
- 31:25Speaker 2: because I was going at him, you know, and I
- 31:27Speaker 2: don't really like I don't do that normally, you know,
- 31:31Speaker 2: I don't go and talk like politics. I don't go
- 31:33Speaker 2: against the president because to me, bro, a president's not
- 31:37Speaker 2: gonna change shit. Like look at the last you know
- 31:40Speaker 2: ten Like I mean, I don't know how old you are,
- 31:42Speaker 2: but like the last five president of the US or
- 31:45Speaker 2: like the five the last president of France, nothing's changed,
- 31:48Speaker 2: like this is the same ship over.
- 31:50Speaker 1: And over, especially in Gaza. Yeah, nothing's changed since anywhere
- 31:53Speaker 1: in the world. But yeah, for sure, that doesn't change anything.
- 31:57Speaker 1: I don't trust in politics.
- 31:58Speaker 2: I trust in the poles, like trying to get better,
- 32:01Speaker 2: you know, like, yeah, I'm next to were next to
- 32:04Speaker 2: each Other's what we're doing, what we're doing for our community,
- 32:07Speaker 2: what we're doing for our city, what we're doing for
- 32:09Speaker 2: the next like those kids in my block, right, you know,
- 32:13Speaker 2: when it's close to you, like those things, like one
- 32:16Speaker 2: guy is going to change like the lights of millions
- 32:18Speaker 2: of people.
- 32:19Speaker 1: I don't believe in that ship. That's not possible. Ask
- 32:22Speaker 1: what you know. I don't like I don't wake up
- 32:24Speaker 1: in the morning and I don't go vote like that's
- 32:27Speaker 1: not I don't. I don't believe in that ship, right yeah,
- 32:31Speaker 1: I mean especially here, like.
- 32:33Speaker 2: Anywhere in the world. That's that's what That's what I'm saying.
- 32:35Speaker 2: But your problem is not like just American It's always
- 32:40Speaker 2: been like this, you know. So No, I'm not the
- 32:43Speaker 2: I'm not the enemy of the of my president. I'm
- 32:46Speaker 2: not his friend.
- 32:47Speaker 1: And oh I know, man, I saw I saw his
- 32:49Speaker 1: wife hit him in the face on that airplane. I
- 32:51Speaker 1: was like, oh, they get down crazy in friends, don't
- 32:54Speaker 1: don't you fight with your girlfriend or your wife? Oh
- 32:56Speaker 1: for sure, Like those people are just like us, you know,
- 32:59Speaker 1: they're like everyone else. And uh was crazy though, and
- 33:02Speaker 1: that's it, you know, and we just prayed for like
- 33:04Speaker 1: better times. That's it you already know. Man. Want to
- 33:06Speaker 1: give a shout out to slap Woods for presenting the

- 34:06Speaker 1: to the podcast. Can you tell me, because you've done
- 34:10Speaker 1: some of the most insane crowds ever, what has been
- 34:14Speaker 1: your most surreal performance where you just looked out over
- 34:19Speaker 1: the sea of people and you're like, this is fucking crazy.
- 34:21Speaker 1: Like you've done everything. I mean, you've done it all,
- 34:23Speaker 1: so like what is kind of that that one show
- 34:25Speaker 1: that sticks out to you? Though, I don't know, Bro,
- 34:29Speaker 1: It's hard to say, but like you tell them, like,
- 34:34Speaker 1: it could be capacity, it could be vibes, it could
- 34:36Speaker 1: be maybe you had guests. I mean, whatever it is.
- 34:38Speaker 1: I mean we did like.
- 34:39Speaker 2: Four one hundred thousand people, like maybe more like free
- 34:43Speaker 2: shows in Africa.
- 34:45Speaker 1: We Bro, I've done so much.
- 34:49Speaker 2: I can't tell you one, you know, but hometown shows
- 34:52Speaker 2: are special for sure, Like it's you know, the thing
- 34:55Speaker 2: that I just did in I did a stadium in
- 34:59Speaker 2: Friends for like a the thousand people sold out in
- 35:01Speaker 2: three minutes.
- 35:02Speaker 1: Three minutes. Yeah, that's crazy because you know that's that's
- 35:07Speaker 1: your city and you don't want to fuck up. You
- 35:09Speaker 1: don't want to suck it up, and so much pressure.
- 35:12Speaker 1: You want to do good. You want to you know,
- 35:13Speaker 1: your family is here, like the old city.
- 35:15Speaker 2: Do your friends like and you're back in town because
- 35:19Speaker 2: you know, like this, they follow me, they support me,
- 35:23Speaker 2: the showing love all around the world. And when I'm
- 35:26Speaker 2: back home, like they're like, Okay, you gotta turn up
- 35:29Speaker 2: like crazy because we see you everywhere all around the world.
- 35:32Speaker 2: Like when you come back home, you gotta you gotta
- 35:36Speaker 2: bring the fire you did you performed on the arch too, right, Yeah, Dad,
- 35:40Speaker 2: that was crazy too.
- 35:41Speaker 1: That's nuts. Yeah that thing is how old is that?
- 35:43Speaker 1: The things have been there since? Yeah? But like next
- 35:47Speaker 1: the next thing we gotta do or the Eiffel Tower,
- 35:51Speaker 1: the Lover or like you know, if you do a
- 35:52Speaker 1: set in front of the Mona Lisa or some sure,
- 35:54Speaker 1: but like right now we have some smoke with the presidents,
- 35:56Speaker 1: So I don't know if you gotta wait, you gotta
- 35:58Speaker 1: wait for sure. Who's for you?
- 36:02Speaker 3: Man?
- 36:02Speaker 1: Because can you give us any any of the features
- 36:05Speaker 1: on the new album? Can you give us one? Can
- 36:11Speaker 1: I yeh uh, we get a yes, Future Future let's go. Now,
- 36:21Speaker 1: did you bring Future to your world or did you
- 36:22Speaker 1: kind of go to his world a little? We're mixed.
- 36:25Speaker 1: We we met, Like, can you give me the BPM
- 36:28Speaker 1: of the song? It's very interesting vpm to be honest. Okay, yeah,
- 36:34Speaker 1: eighty eighty Yeah, I like that was eighty Yeah, yeah,
- 36:39Speaker 1: Future in that eight. I feel like futures in the
- 36:41Speaker 1: like eighty to eighty five. It's a very DJ like that.
- 36:44Speaker 1: There's some DJ ship right here. The bpm. I don't
- 36:46Speaker 1: know if anybody's gonna get it, but like yeah, like yeah,
- 36:50Speaker 1: his last two big songs, I like that was eighty
- 36:52Speaker 1: and then or eighty two I think, and then Too
- 36:54Speaker 1: Fast was eighty five. Yeah, that's it. That's his bag
- 36:57Speaker 1: right now. But yeah, that's hard.
- 36:58Speaker 2: That's a turn of And there was somebody else the song,
- 37:00Speaker 2: but I'm not gonna tell you because he just signed
- 37:03Speaker 2: the fucking PaperWorks right now. That's why we're waiting for
- 37:05Speaker 2: him for the for the album released. But uh, that's
- 37:08Speaker 2: a crazy one.
- 37:09Speaker 1: Is that? Is it? Because I feel like the uphill
- 37:11Speaker 1: battle when you put a DJ album together, right, because
- 37:12Speaker 1: you have so many different artists is the hardest part
- 37:15Speaker 1: getting all the clearances and oh it's a fucking nightmare
- 37:18Speaker 1: because you're dealing with all these different camps, all these labels, and.
- 37:21Speaker 2: First of all, like like just getting the like two
- 37:24Speaker 2: artists to get together, you gotta be like, it's politics
- 37:27Speaker 2: to lie.
- 37:28Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. So sometimes like someone's gonna cut the song
- 37:30Speaker 1: and then the next day you know that they're not
- 37:32Speaker 1: cool anymore, and you're like, bro, what am I doing now?
- 37:36Speaker 1: I put this out? Now? Yes, I need somebody else
- 37:38Speaker 1: on the verse, and then you damn near got to
- 37:40Speaker 1: pick and choose exactly, and then that's gonna make someone
- 37:42Speaker 1: else feel sometime.
- 37:43Speaker 2: Both like they both love the song, like you gotta
- 37:46Speaker 2: that's a Yes, it's politics.
- 37:48Speaker 1: It's crazy, you've been through that before. Hell yeah, of course.
- 37:52Speaker 1: Do you kind of just pick who the best, the
- 37:56Speaker 1: best verse, the best versus better that's it? Yeah? Yeah.
- 38:00Speaker 1: Has it ever gotten to like where you like someone's
- 38:03Speaker 1: feelings were hurt that you removed them off of something, No,
- 38:05Speaker 1: for sure. Yeah. Yeah, they don't follow me and ship
- 38:08Speaker 1: on Instagram? Oh my god, Yeah, I think yeah, I'm
- 38:12Speaker 1: not gonna start doing it. Don't say who, don't say who,
- 38:14Speaker 1: but but but it's happened. Someone hasn't followed. Yeah, juicy J.
- 38:17Speaker 1: Juicy J was Matt really yeah, yeah, I love you.
- 38:21Speaker 1: Let's work again. But Juicy J even gigs from the
- 38:26Speaker 1: UK gigs is thope, Yeah, I love just because you
- 38:29Speaker 1: took them off something.
- 38:30Speaker 2: Yeah, but like it didn't make sense, like all those
- 38:33Speaker 2: American rappers, and he was like in the middle, and
- 38:37Speaker 2: I wanted to.
- 38:38Speaker 1: I mean, it's a long story, but sometimes you know
- 38:40Speaker 1: it's about violence, you know. Yeah, I mean, look at
- 38:42Speaker 1: the end of the day, I just saw like when
- 38:44Speaker 1: metro Booman put out Heroes Versus Villains, And this is
- 38:47Speaker 1: before we knew he had any issues with Drake. There
- 38:50Speaker 1: was like Drake was supposed to be on one of
- 38:53Speaker 1: the records down Tolliver was on and he was like,
- 38:57Speaker 1: I took Drake off because I just thought artistic it
- 39:00Speaker 1: sounded better with like it's your album, right, so it's
- 39:04Speaker 1: like you got to make sure you're not forced it.
- 39:06Speaker 1: I do feel like a lot of DJ albums, but Drake, Like, no,
- 39:09Speaker 1: for sure, but I do feel like a lot of
- 39:11Speaker 1: DJ albums compilations, especially in the hip hop space, it
- 39:15Speaker 1: feels like a lot of forced verses together and it
- 39:19Speaker 1: doesn't ever really feel organic. And that's what I'm not
- 39:21Speaker 1: trying to do, right, do it for the names, you know,
- 39:24Speaker 1: like just do it because it's for this makes the
- 39:26Speaker 1: song better, Like if the verse is not good, like
- 39:29Speaker 1: you're not gonna make the cook you know. Yeah.
- 39:31Speaker 2: And and speaking about like Metro, like we're doing a
- 39:35Speaker 2: back to back in Saudi Arabia in December, me and
- 39:39Speaker 2: Metro Booming hip hop set.
- 39:41Speaker 1: That'll be crazy. Yeah, there's gonna be nuts. Hey, Metro Booming. Man,
- 39:45Speaker 1: he's on a run. No, he's the men. Would you
- 39:48Speaker 1: work on a like, like, would y'all get in the
- 39:50Speaker 1: studio maybe work on a beat together? No? Hell yeah easy?
- 39:54Speaker 1: Because for you, Like, I feel like people don't understand,
- 39:56Speaker 1: like if you're not in the game. It's like a
- 39:58Speaker 1: lot of producers sometimes will get loops or they'll get like,
- 40:00Speaker 1: you know, it's like the collaborative effort of being a producer,
- 40:03Speaker 1: especially in hip hop. Sometimes you'll see people produce post Hey,
- 40:06Speaker 1: if you got loops, send them my way, send them
- 40:08Speaker 1: my way. I feel like you're a Metro booming something.
- 40:11Speaker 2: I don't really do loops, but like I don't mind,
- 40:13Speaker 2: you know, yeah, just dope, like if something sounds hard,
- 40:17Speaker 2: like use it, that's it. Metro and even Mustard most
- 40:21Speaker 2: is my guy, Like I love Mustard and we both
- 40:24Speaker 2: like in the same bpm, you know, since we speak
- 40:28Speaker 2: about BPM, Like, uh.
- 40:31Speaker 1: Are you? Are you still if you get inspired and
- 40:34Speaker 1: you like a song enough, will you make a will
- 40:36Speaker 1: you still funk around and do a remix of it? Yeah?
- 40:38Speaker 1: For sure? Like what's like, what's the last song that
- 40:40Speaker 1: you maybe you didn't end up doing it, but you
- 40:42Speaker 1: wanted a remix? Good question? Fuck I think was a
- 40:55Speaker 1: Bona Boy record, I'd be crazy. I love Bna Boy.
- 41:00Speaker 1: Oh you know what the Thames Thames? Okay, I fucking
- 41:04Speaker 1: love her. She's incredible, Like her voice is crazy and
- 41:07Speaker 1: I did a remakes but we couldn't clear like not
- 41:11Speaker 1: clear it, but she was not doing like any uh
- 41:14Speaker 1: like sending out stems type shit. So you know we
- 41:17Speaker 1: moved on. But yeah, because for you, it's like if
- 41:19Speaker 1: I'm a if I'm a remixer, like send me the
- 41:21Speaker 1: a cappella. Yeah, but it has to be like at
- 41:23Speaker 1: least original, you know, to be out on on like Spotify,
- 41:26Speaker 1: Apple Music, you know, because now, like that's the problem
- 41:30Speaker 1: with like music nowadays, Like it's it's impossible to go
- 41:33Speaker 1: on SoundCloud to drop some like bootlegs, some remakes, like
- 41:36Speaker 1: they take it down the labels and everything shout out
- 41:39Speaker 1: into scup in the building in scope. Yeah, stop sucking
- 41:42Speaker 1: up the culture. Let us do the fucking bootlegs. Interscope
- 41:45Speaker 1: stays fucking up my YouTube channel, Lord forbid, somebody wrap
- 41:48Speaker 1: over an Interscope beat on my fucking show. It's flagged
- 41:51Speaker 1: thirty days to fucking Sunday.
- 41:53Speaker 2: But you know, like now it's uh, I feel bad
- 41:55Speaker 2: for like young DJs and young producers, right because you
- 41:59Speaker 2: can't like just think of something and just do remaxs
- 42:02Speaker 2: and drop it for the streets and for the DJs because.
- 42:04Speaker 1: They get taken down. Yeah, fuck man, that's that's annoying.
- 42:08Speaker 1: It's crazy they just counted as a as a stream.
- 42:10Speaker 1: Here's even like an attack on the on the DJ pools. Now,
- 42:14Speaker 1: it's like certain DJ pools. I'd be like, fuck if
- 42:17Speaker 1: something comes out on Epic, I know I can't get
- 42:19Speaker 1: it on fucking BPM Supreme. No, but we got to
- 42:21Speaker 1: fix this and shout out DJ City, like DJ City, BPM,
- 42:24Speaker 1: all them guys.
- 42:25Speaker 2: Of course you're doing a great job and this is
- 42:27Speaker 2: important for the culture. And if label I mean, I
- 42:30Speaker 2: mean to Day like, I mean, I'm sure the label
- 42:32Speaker 2: knows that it's very important for them.
- 42:35Speaker 1: To you know, you want to cater to DJs. Do
- 42:38Speaker 1: you want those DJs make it easy for DJs to
- 42:40Speaker 1: play your music.
- 42:40Speaker 2: Yeah, in front of the human to create that buzz
- 42:42Speaker 2: you know, in the streets and the club and uh
- 42:45Speaker 2: so stuff fucking like stuff sucking.
- 42:47Speaker 1: Up the culture. Yeah, no, it's it is crazy. Talk
- 42:50Speaker 1: to me. Uh if you had to put together your
- 42:52Speaker 1: mount rushmore of rappers all time? Who's it? Who's who's
- 42:56Speaker 1: the top four? Who's your top four? Man Dead or
- 42:59Speaker 1: Life are Alive? Of course? I mean Biggie jay Z,
- 43:08Speaker 1: Jeddykiss and back, Jada top five, Dat are Alive? Yes,
- 43:14Speaker 1: off one LP man. Yeah, I mean have you got
- 43:17Speaker 1: to meet Jada Kiss? Yes? I got a crazy story
- 43:23Speaker 1: involving Kiss. Yes. I was really young. How young is
- 43:28Speaker 1: really young? Like graffiti days? Young?
- 43:31Speaker 2: Probably like seventeen, Okay, New York City, first time ever
- 43:37Speaker 2: in New York and I was in uh in Brooklyn,
- 43:41Speaker 2: staying at my friend's house, and you know, I was
- 43:45Speaker 2: like hanging out with those like Synegalese dudes that's selling
- 43:51Speaker 2: like bootleg mixtapes on Kenna streets.
- 43:53Speaker 1: Oh buddy, that's how I got my name bootleg HEV.
- 43:55Speaker 1: Literally my entire come up was smirting music from some
- 43:59Speaker 1: Interscope records.
- 44:00Speaker 2: So my boys are from Senegal, so and they're over
- 44:04Speaker 2: there like you know, hustling all yea, and they're selling mixtapes.
- 44:09Speaker 1: So you know, I don't speak the language. I don't
- 44:11Speaker 1: speak English.
- 44:13Speaker 2: People from selling other speak French, right, So all day,
- 44:16Speaker 2: every day I'm on Canna streets with them, hanging out,
- 44:19Speaker 2: snapbles in my hands, selling mixtapes with them. You know,
- 44:23Speaker 2: my boys were like, Yo, we gotta go, We gotta
- 44:25Speaker 2: go get something. Can you take care of the stand?
- 44:28Speaker 2: Like the shop, the store right got you? But I
- 44:32Speaker 2: don't even speak the language, so I'm crazy to say, yes, Bro,
- 44:37Speaker 2: we're selling the new Jeddakis mixtape, like jay, I mean
- 44:42Speaker 2: that that that week that was Jadakiss and DJ Caseley
- 44:47Speaker 2: and we're selling bootlegs.
- 44:48Speaker 1: Ply d Block tape. Then Bro, Jadakis arrived. Jadakiss comes,
- 44:55Speaker 1: he comes while you're selling a pirated version of his yes,
- 45:00Speaker 1: and he goes off and you don't know what he's saying.
- 45:04Speaker 1: I mean I heard like you knew he was right,
- 45:07Speaker 1: right of course everyone knows the bad words.
- 45:09Speaker 2: And he's going crazy and he has a dude with him,
- 45:11Speaker 2: like with some dreadlocks smoking like ashesh.
- 45:15Speaker 1: And I'm like, damn, how the fuck did he found
- 45:16Speaker 1: like some ashish in the States? You nobody to smoke
- 45:19Speaker 1: weed anyway, Jennakis doesn't give a fuck. Egos crazy on
- 45:22Speaker 1: me and I'm like, listen, my bro, me no speak English,
- 45:26Speaker 1: Me no speak English? Sorry, he said, that's my ship.
- 45:29Speaker 1: You're selling my ship. That's fake. And bro, he takes
- 45:31Speaker 1: the old ship and like put everything on the floor
- 45:36Speaker 1: and I'm like, bro, and mind you your homies hadn't
- 45:39Speaker 1: come back yet. Nah, but I supposed to be overlooking
- 45:42Speaker 1: the spot, like I'm by myself getting pressed by Jeddakis.
- 45:47Speaker 1: That's and I'm seventeen and I don't speak English. I
- 45:51Speaker 1: never told this story like this is a word premiere
- 45:53Speaker 1: for you, and bro, like I'm like, and you're a
- 45:59Speaker 1: fan of Jady, like I want to take a picture
- 46:01Speaker 1: of him, right.
- 46:01Speaker 2: He wants to fight me, right, And I'm seventeen from Paris,
- 46:05Speaker 2: and I'm like, bro, what what do I do? You know, like, oh,
- 46:08Speaker 2: shit is fucked up. My friend's gonna be mad.
- 46:10Speaker 1: Yeah, your friend's gonna come back has a very scary
- 46:14Speaker 1: motherfucker with him looking looking at me crazy and I'm
- 46:18Speaker 1: like trying to survive in his ship. I mean New York, bro,
- 46:22Speaker 1: I was sweating. Trust me. Did your friends believe when
- 46:25Speaker 1: they got back then? Yeah? Kissed everything up? Yeah, because
- 46:28Speaker 1: all the DJs, like I think Kesley was coming with
- 46:30Speaker 1: like a baseball bats fucking up those stores and ship.
- 46:34Speaker 1: So that was like something very common in New York.
- 46:37Speaker 1: Like when the artist shout out to case Lay fucking
- 46:41Speaker 1: legend rest in peace. Yeah, man, that is fucking what drummer,
- 46:44Speaker 1: Now you gotta go, and you gotta go do Jada
- 46:46Speaker 1: and Joe Yes and.
- 46:48Speaker 2: Uh And that's funny because uh, like last year we
- 46:52Speaker 2: I mean it was last year or two years ago
- 46:53Speaker 2: when the dip set and the Lox uh.
- 46:55Speaker 1: Oh, the verses that was like ship that was like
- 46:57Speaker 1: three or four years ago. Now. Yeah, so I was
- 47:00Speaker 1: the Madson Square Garden. You were there, Yeah, they invited
- 47:03Speaker 1: me and shit, that's one of my favorite hip hop
- 47:05Speaker 1: moments of the last decade and.
- 47:06Speaker 2: Jada like sent me a DM and I was like, bro,
- 47:08Speaker 2: he has no idea that he pressed me in kinda
- 47:11Speaker 2: streets for the mixtape thing.
- 47:14Speaker 1: Shot out to Canal Street man. You still get some
- 47:16Speaker 1: good deals down there, but you gotta get taken in
- 47:18Speaker 1: the back room. Yeah, I don't want to go back there.
- 47:21Speaker 1: They have a mall in Thailand. When I was out
- 47:24Speaker 1: there for Rolling Out, they got this whole fucking mall
- 47:26Speaker 1: in Bangkok. All the fake shit. It's the whole mall.
- 47:29Speaker 1: It's fake shit. Oh it's called NBK, Yes, MBK Center
- 47:32Speaker 1: or some shit. You want a story, I got. I
- 47:34Speaker 1: got a crazy story. Yo, I'm gonna get in trouble. Hey,
- 47:37Speaker 1: we gotta wrap up this interview another one presented by Hardan. Baby,

- 48:10Speaker 1: love these vapes Broken Cannabis. Make sure you go shoot
- 48:14Speaker 1: them a follow. I was in Austin, Texas, and you
- 48:18Speaker 1: know I was off the Broken in Texas, even though
- 48:20Speaker 1: I'm not sure legally I was supposed to be off
- 48:22Speaker 1: the Broken in Texas. But look, you gotta go follow
- 48:24Speaker 1: them right now. Go to Rokencannabis dot com. Shoot them
- 48:27Speaker 1: a follow on social media. You'll see it down below.
- 48:30Speaker 1: They got the solventless Rosin pure. It will melt you
- 48:34Speaker 1: in a good way, by the way, all right, so
- 48:36Speaker 1: make sure you go shoot them a follow. Man. And
- 48:38Speaker 1: you know we only rock with the premium the best.
- 48:41Speaker 1: And when I tell you, Broken is the best. They've
- 48:44Speaker 1: been doing this for so long and uh man, the rosin,
- 48:48Speaker 1: the solventless rosin, Man, it hits all right. So they
- 48:50Speaker 1: got the disposables, they got the carts. Let's just open
- 48:55Speaker 1: one of these up just so y'all can see. These
- 48:56Speaker 1: carts are beautiful, all right. We got it open. He

- 49:09Speaker 1: Follow them and check them out rocancannabis dot com. But
- 49:11Speaker 1: you know what, like, I got a crazy story. I
- 49:12Speaker 1: don't know if I should tell the watch thing. What
- 49:15Speaker 1: happened with the watch? Got a fly? Fuck it?
- 49:18Speaker 2: Okay, So let me tell you. I used to go
- 49:22Speaker 2: to Thailand a lot. Yeah, and I bought like a
- 49:26Speaker 2: fake Ublo watch. Okay, MBK Center, MBK Center exactly.
- 49:32Speaker 1: So you know I bought a fake Ublo. I was like,
- 49:34Speaker 1: fuck it.
- 49:35Speaker 2: You know it's too expensive. I can afford a real one.
- 49:37Speaker 2: I'm gonna look fresh. Nobody is gonna notice this. And
- 49:41Speaker 2: a year later, turn down for what blows up? And
- 49:45Speaker 2: I get to play Ultra Music Festival in Miami and
- 49:48Speaker 2: I play and I play and I'm wearing the watch
- 49:53Speaker 2: and Ublo see the live stream and tweet Hedy just Nick,
- 49:58Speaker 2: thank you for rocking Ublu at your Ultra Music festival sets.
- 50:02Speaker 1: So I'm like, bro, that's crazy, that's a fake one.
- 50:07Speaker 2: And they're just like and they shouted you out. They
- 50:10Speaker 2: just show love. So I'm like, so we we get
- 50:15Speaker 2: in touch. Yeah, and I saw I signed a deal
- 50:18Speaker 2: with them off a fake one, off of a fake one.
- 50:22Speaker 2: So I signed a deal with like a Ulu and
- 50:25Speaker 2: we did the collab for a watch and everything for
- 50:28Speaker 2: like five years. And everything started with a fake watch
- 50:31Speaker 2: with a fake like one hundred dollars watch from Thailand.
- 50:35Speaker 1: That's crazy. Yeah. I went to UH when I was
- 50:38Speaker 1: When I was there, I was, I was like, this
- 50:40Speaker 1: is crazy that this place exists. But they take they
- 50:42Speaker 1: got the back wall and that's where they have like
- 50:45Speaker 1: the smoke, the really nice fakes. So the dude's like
- 50:49Speaker 1: trying to tell him. He's like, yo, this is a
- 50:50Speaker 1: one to one Rolex. He's like, of course it's five hundred.
- 50:53Speaker 1: This one's a hundred, but this one's five hundred. But
- 50:55Speaker 1: no one will tell you. Shit. Yeah, it's crazy. That's
- 50:58Speaker 1: fucking wild though.
- 50:59Speaker 2: There, So how like how crazy it is to sign
- 51:02Speaker 2: a deal with one of the biggest like watch off
- 51:04Speaker 2: of a company much.
- 51:05Speaker 1: Yes, think about that one hundred dollars investment you made.
- 51:08Speaker 1: You know it was an investment at the time, you know, no,
- 51:11Speaker 1: no insane. Yeah, so a lot of things, you know,
- 51:13Speaker 1: like this happened to me. My whole life. I feel
- 51:16Speaker 1: like you have such a dope come up dude, and
- 51:18Speaker 1: I appreciate the fact that you're still very much like
- 51:20Speaker 1: a DJ at heart, you know what I'm saying. Yeah,
- 51:23Speaker 1: I mean I've been doing this my whole life. That's
- 51:26Speaker 1: why I am. You know, that's it. That's the only
- 51:28Speaker 1: thing I can do my life. Do you can you
- 51:31Speaker 1: tell me what? Because I feel like, as you know,
- 51:34Speaker 1: because you mentioned this a little bit earlier, but there
- 51:38Speaker 1: is like what came out of the Amen or the
- 51:42Speaker 1: am Era was a lot of like am shit, Like
- 51:46Speaker 1: you said, he did it without being corny. It was dope,
- 51:48Speaker 1: but there was like there's this whole underbelly of like
- 51:51Speaker 1: really corny remixes. How do you know, like to walk
- 51:57Speaker 1: the line when you do a remix or you do
- 52:00Speaker 1: some sort of edit to not make it cringey as fuck?
- 52:02Speaker 1: Because there are some really cringey party break you know
- 52:07Speaker 1: what I'm talking about?
- 52:08Speaker 2: Until this day, Until this day there bro you see
- 52:12Speaker 2: like this ship on TikTok that's popping and I'm not
- 52:15Speaker 2: doing no remix that mean, right, Like what the fuck
- 52:19Speaker 2: is this ship? Like I grew up with gangster with
- 52:22Speaker 2: Wu Tang. I grew up with like daft punk. You
- 52:26Speaker 2: see myself doing a right. No, there's no no like
- 52:31Speaker 2: fuck this ship.
- 52:32Speaker 1: Even that, like you said, even the TikTok. I feel
- 52:34Speaker 1: like TikTok's open it up for even like lower low
- 52:37Speaker 1: hanging fruit motherfuckers will be doing remixes on their little
- 52:42Speaker 1: pads that was already pre produced, but they're just making
- 52:45Speaker 1: it look like they're doing it live. I mean, shout
- 52:46Speaker 1: out to anybody hustling.
- 52:49Speaker 3: Yeah, they might even make that that thing, but but
- 52:51Speaker 3: it is, it is a little it's even like the
- 52:53Speaker 3: group I don't know who's doing like this song, but
- 52:57Speaker 3: who did that song, but shout out to them because
- 52:59Speaker 3: then making money.
- 53:00Speaker 2: You know, they're making money. They're trying to, you know,
- 53:03Speaker 2: take care of taking care of their family and everything.
- 53:05Speaker 2: So I'm not like I don't knock the hustle.
- 53:08Speaker 1: Right, but yeah, they gotta do. Like here's just something
- 53:14Speaker 1: like the TikTok. It's terrible, bro, the TikTok DJ like
- 53:18Speaker 1: twenty second flips or mashups that are like the most
- 53:22Speaker 1: obvious low hanging like wordplay shit.
- 53:25Speaker 2: I'm just like, oh my god, it's always gonna be
- 53:27Speaker 2: some good shit and bad shit out there. So you know,
- 53:31Speaker 2: I don't want to be like talking shit about TikTok.
- 53:33Speaker 2: It's just that now seeing like I mean, the people
- 53:37Speaker 2: that's on TikTok doing their shit, the kids and everything.
- 53:40Speaker 1: You know, let them be in kids, that's fine.
- 53:42Speaker 2: But when you see like some real DJs, like respected
- 53:45Speaker 2: DJs or like very famous DJs.
- 53:48Speaker 1: Following what's going on TikTok, man, you corny, super corny
- 53:53Speaker 1: for sure.
- 53:53Speaker 2: Like you a superstar, you a legend, and you over
- 53:56Speaker 2: there like doing some dance in front of your fridge
- 53:58Speaker 2: and your kitchen, like bro, I rather stop music, quits music.
- 54:02Speaker 2: You know, you're never gonna see me doing no like
- 54:05Speaker 2: no bullshit like challenge.
- 54:08Speaker 1: God bless you for that. Do you feel like the
- 54:10Speaker 1: eed M wave has kind of turned more into like
- 54:14Speaker 1: kind of the the more house vibes as opposed to
- 54:16Speaker 1: like the big drops. It's not music, is that fashion?
- 54:20Speaker 1: It's a cycle.
- 54:21Speaker 2: Yeah, you know today is gonna be afro house, and
- 54:24Speaker 2: then it's gonna be like melodic techno, and then trap
- 54:27Speaker 2: music is gonna come back, and then mom button is
- 54:29Speaker 2: gonna come back, and then we're not gonna play like
- 54:33Speaker 2: I mean, afro house gonna is gonna die and then
- 54:36Speaker 2: something else and big room and it's just like a
- 54:39Speaker 2: cycle over and over over and over. Like one day
- 54:43Speaker 2: we're gonna be wearing like skinny jeans and.
- 54:46Speaker 1: Then oh, everyone's wearing fucking Jinkos, Like did you guys
- 54:49Speaker 1: have Jinkos in France with the big ass pockets. Everybody's
- 54:51Speaker 1: got fucking Jinkos on Like.
- 54:52Speaker 2: It's so in two years gonna be like like skinny
- 54:55Speaker 2: jeans again, and the baggy again and this and that.
- 54:58Speaker 1: It's a cycle. It's too baggy for me. It's getting
- 55:01Speaker 1: too baggy. Did that ship in the nineties, I was there,
- 55:05Speaker 1: So stick to your like Gki's or I just I
- 55:07Speaker 1: just just regular fit. Yeah, classic ship, Yeah, give me
- 55:10Speaker 1: a classic fit. I don't want my pants over to
- 55:13Speaker 1: cover my shoes like when I was a kid. I
- 55:15Speaker 1: don't need that ship dragging from my all right, So
- 55:18Speaker 1: album's coming out in October. We know futures on the album.
- 55:21Speaker 1: That's a good thing. And uh, are you handling any
- 55:26Speaker 1: production for anything outside of your stuff? Are you doing
- 55:29Speaker 1: like sending beats out? Yeah? Yeah, for sure, for sure.
- 55:32Speaker 2: I can't I can't speak about it, but we got
- 55:34Speaker 2: some shit going on and it's gonna be fun. Dylan
- 55:37Speaker 2: Francis on the album.
- 55:38Speaker 1: Too Shout out to Dylan one of the funniest human
- 55:40Speaker 1: beings of all time.
- 55:41Speaker 2: Bro the best. That's my brother. You know, like we
- 55:43Speaker 2: stopped talking for like almost five years. Why some bullshit,
- 55:46Speaker 2: you know, like some ego bullshit, bad comedy. I'm really
- 55:50Speaker 2: bad with communications, you know. So it was tripping and
- 55:53Speaker 2: then he blocked me. And now you guys unblocked. Yes,
- 55:57Speaker 2: because you wanted to come to the to the to
- 55:58Speaker 2: the show in Paris, my hometown show at the Stadium,
- 56:02Speaker 2: and I was super happy to see him. We hung
- 56:04Speaker 2: out and then we worked on music and we ended
- 56:07Speaker 2: up like making a song together and he felt like
- 56:09Speaker 2: we never left each other, like so like nothing happened.
- 56:13Speaker 1: What is your at all? Your big songs obviously got
- 56:17Speaker 1: let Me Love You, Taki, Taki, lean On, turn Out
- 56:20Speaker 1: for What's the Life Changer? What's your like one song
- 56:23Speaker 1: that if you like you're kind of tired of, Like,
- 56:26Speaker 1: is there a song that you're like enough? I get it?
- 56:31Speaker 1: You know.
- 56:32Speaker 2: Yeah, some moments I'm like, man, I don't want to
- 56:34Speaker 2: play turn Down for what right? I don't want to
- 56:36Speaker 2: play lean On. I don't want to play Taki taki,
- 56:40Speaker 2: but you know, and sometimes so like I stopped, I
- 56:42Speaker 2: stopped playing them, you know during those big shows, and
- 56:45Speaker 2: then the next I mean right after the show, like
- 56:47Speaker 2: people are complaining you didn't do turnout for what?
- 56:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I came just to hear, like, lean on, what
- 56:51Speaker 1: the fuck? You gotta play the hits? Yes, So now
- 56:54Speaker 1: I understand when like fifty cent was saying like it's
- 56:57Speaker 1: tired of in the club, he probably hates. But imagine
- 57:00Speaker 1: like going to a fifty cent club a concert and
- 57:03Speaker 1: he's not performing in the club. You're gonna be pissed,
- 57:05Speaker 1: you know.
- 57:06Speaker 2: But I get it now, and so I think it's
- 57:08Speaker 2: just like sort of moments you're tired of the song,
- 57:11Speaker 2: you stop like playing it, like for for six months,
- 57:14Speaker 2: and then you bring it back.
- 57:15Speaker 1: Any up and coming DJs you want to shout out
- 57:17Speaker 1: that are doing any dope remixes or dope production that
- 57:19Speaker 1: are on the come up.
- 57:21Speaker 2: Remixes? I don't know, but like new Shit there is
- 57:28Speaker 2: like a kid, I mean he's not a kid. He's
- 57:30Speaker 2: like twenty twenty four, twenty five. His name is Trim
- 57:34Speaker 2: is French. He's doing Heart Take No Shit's Fire. I
- 57:37Speaker 2: think it's gonna He's gonna have a big year. Who
- 57:41Speaker 2: else give me some Yeah, just San Diego water boys
- 57:48Speaker 2: like those kids on Fire, I mean NOC too and
- 57:50Speaker 2: Isogs so are already like super fire right now. But
- 57:54Speaker 2: oh like the old crew is like super creative and dope.
- 57:57Speaker 1: Have you been able to tap in with any of
- 57:58Speaker 1: the ship, like any of the Mexican instead of cracking
- 58:00Speaker 1: right now?
- 58:01Speaker 2: Like I mean I did the song with Pistol Pluma,
- 58:03Speaker 2: but the new ones, yes, there was, and like jop
- 58:07Speaker 2: and those guys. Yah, yeah, we're talking to them like
- 58:09Speaker 2: I love what's going on right now in Mexico because
- 58:12Speaker 2: they have their own ship.
- 58:13Speaker 1: They're not trying to.
- 58:14Speaker 2: Sound like it sounds different than anything. Yeah, they don't
- 58:16Speaker 2: try to sound like Puerto Rican or like Colombia. Like
- 58:18Speaker 2: they have their own wave and I respect that.
- 58:23Speaker 1: And now shout out to the Mexicans from La you
- 58:24Speaker 1: worked with our brother Shoreline Mafia one more time. Yeah,
- 58:27Speaker 1: my guy, jeezy man, listen man, looking forward to the album.
- 58:31Speaker 1: Appreciate you pulling up an album coming in October. We're
- 58:35Speaker 1: gonna be at the Sphere Friday by the time this
- 58:38Speaker 1: comes out. We already hung out at the Sphere and
- 58:40Speaker 1: I was high as a fucking drafts coach. DJ Snake Man,
- 58:44Speaker 1: I appreciate you, brother. Respect there it is
