- 0:02Multiple. Nerd.
- 0:09Guys, just straight true wow. Yeah, we're trying something
- 0:12new. Matt's learning how to use the
- 0:15thing that we pay for to record this because I'm too lazy to do
- 0:18it. Yeah, basically, yeah.
- 0:21I was like the other day, I was like doing, you know, doing the
- 0:24edit and all the, the stuff that we do just pour together every.
- 0:28Week. Yeah.
- 0:30And I was like, I think, I think Stream Yard does most of this.
- 0:34We just don't use it. And I was like, that's pretty
- 0:37stupid. Yeah.
- 0:38Use the tools we pay for. Yeah, because it's not cheap.
- 0:41We do pay quite a bit for this. Yeah.
- 0:43And it does do a lot. I know it does a lot, Just.
- 0:46Yeah, we've never really done it.
- 0:48No SO surprise new things and if anything sucks, let us know.
- 0:54Yes. Go to patreon.com/multiple
- 0:57norgasm, join the discord, let us know.
- 0:59Let us know so we've got a lot to talk about.
- 1:03This week we do. Where would you like to begin,
- 1:05my friend? And I even added stuff.
- 1:08You did because this. Week.
- 1:10It's, I mean, we can reveal this to the witnesses.
- 1:12I've made something and it made it.
- 1:14It's made it easier for you to add things, which is really what
- 1:17all the barrier was was that usually you can't be bothered.
- 1:23Because I see stuff and I go oh I want to discuss that but they
- 1:26don't have to log on the Google Docs and paste it in there and
- 1:29it was too much of A hassle. Which this is sort of the same
- 1:32thing, but it feels different for some reason.
- 1:35Yeah, OK, well, I've, I've built a tool for that kind of thing
- 1:38and I will it'll, it's public, but I'm not, you know, sharing
- 1:42much with it. But if people want to join the
- 1:44discord again, I'm happy to share it on there if people want
- 1:46to have a look at it. It's basically just a tool for
- 1:49planning a podcast. Yeah.
- 1:51And it's actually good. Make life a lot easier.
- 1:54Yeah, if for some reason I find this easier to go and add into
- 1:57the spreadsheet because I can just go and just quickly drop it
- 2:00in there. That's.
- 2:00Literally the point of this was that I would do this too lazy,
- 2:04but I was annoyed because I would see an article.
- 2:07You're right, I've seen an article and I go, OK, I need to
- 2:09put this somewhere so to get it and things would slip through.
- 2:12And that's so I just basically this thing I built to make it
- 2:16easy. And it's.
- 2:17This is a lot faster than having to load up Yeah Google Docs
- 2:20every time. And I basically the all the
- 2:23features of this thing are the things that we need.
- 2:26So hopefully that will be of use to other people.
- 2:27It's called Segway if you want to look at it.
- 2:30I'll just fucking announce it. Whatever.
- 2:31Let's go to Segway dot show and it's it's there.
- 2:35I'll link to it in the show notes.
- 2:36Why not? You know what?
- 2:37And I'll, I'll put it in here because I can do that.
- 2:43Yes, you can do stuff on the flight and then we can mark it
- 2:46as complete. Yes, segue Tosh.
- 2:49So that's times when we talk about stuff where we're going to
- 2:51add stuff to the show notes and then we forget about it.
- 2:54Now that won't happen. Nope.
- 2:56All right. So what do you want to talk
- 2:58about first? I was thinking I guess now.
- 3:01Well, second, yeah. So we've marked that one off.
- 3:03It's done. I want to talk about Artemis 2
- 3:06coming back. Yes.
- 3:09They splashed down. They did, they've done, they've
- 3:12done a lot that happened quicker than I was expecting.
- 3:15It didn't feel like 9 days did it?
- 3:17No, I was like, fuck, all right, they're already back, I guess.
- 3:22Yeah, that makes sense. But.
- 3:24Yeah. And I mean, they did some
- 3:26amazing shit. They broke a record.
- 3:28They've been the furthest away from Earth anyone's ever been.
- 3:32Like even though a lot of people say it's not possible for them
- 3:36to go that far, a lot of the moon deniers and Flat Earth has
- 3:40got into Van Halen belt would kill them instantly.
- 3:43Knew you were going to know about this, all right.
- 3:47Because they say the radiation out there.
- 3:49Yeah, I know, I've heard that before.
- 3:51But that's that's what the fucking ship is for.
- 3:56They're not just setting it about, they're in a convertible.
- 3:59Exactly. No, it's they've it's got, I
- 4:03mean, I'm not a scientist. It's got stuff in it to stop
- 4:05that and the. Amount of time that they're
- 4:08actually going through it is they're not staying there the
- 4:11entire 9 days. They're not staying in that
- 4:12radiation belt. They basically go through it.
- 4:15And then they, yeah, then they zoom around and.
- 4:18Come back. Yeah.
- 4:18So. But it's the fucking photos.
- 4:21Yes. Oh my God, it's like, it's, it's
- 4:25so weird. Like I I still think it's weird
- 4:28that we haven't been back to the moon.
- 4:29In. What 50 fucking?
- 4:31Years now. The reason for that was
- 4:33basically it was a race back then and then.
- 4:37It's an expensive thing and everyone lost interest.
- 4:39Yeah, but now if you actually watched people, they were nobody
- 4:42like watching the watching the lending to over 2 million
- 4:46people, just watching that. So people are interested again.
- 4:49No, that's cool. I'm glad because I mean, that
- 4:52means, you know, hopefully it'll think, oh, it's worth while
- 4:55doing all this stuff because yeah, I just think this is
- 4:58amazing. And you know, they want to build
- 5:00a base up there on the moon like.
- 5:02That's going to be amazing when that happens.
- 5:04I love it. So cool Photos are incredible.
- 5:10I just yeah, to finally have like photos with like.
- 5:14Modern. Stuff.
- 5:18Not just the old I had around the.
- 5:21Side of the moon. It's just like fuck yes, like so
- 5:25good. But of course there are a lot of
- 5:27people out there claiming it's just all CGI and fake.
- 5:29Whatever. Yeah.
- 5:31You can't win. I mean, even this article I've
- 5:33put here, the first photos of solar eclipse from Artemis to
- 5:36crew look almost too good to be real.
- 5:39Yep. Well, I mean, yeah.
- 5:43They do look amazing. I know.
- 5:45And then them two on the radio trying to describe, like just
- 5:50describe what it looks like and what it's like to do that.
- 5:53It's just like loss for words like, yeah, incredible.
- 5:57So heavy. So we've got Artemis 3 that
- 5:59takes off, I think next year, yeah.
- 6:01And then I think the moon landing's the year after that.
- 6:042028, yeah, yeah. So next.
- 6:06And I think there's two in the same year in 2028.
- 6:09I might be wrong about that. I think they're doing 2 that
- 6:11same year. Because I think one of them, lot
- 6:14of them I think is actually just start looking at the getting
- 6:17stuff to land on the moon. Yeah, well, next year's one is
- 6:21unmanned and it will land, yes, but it's not, I think, people.
- 6:25I think, yeah, why have people? I think it's going to have stuff
- 6:27for them. Yeah, yeah, right.
- 6:29And then just to make sure it works, yeah.
- 6:32Make sure it works and then have stuff.
- 6:34And then because I think the whole plane, it's like that'll
- 6:37have stuff for them. So it means that there'll be
- 6:39stuff waiting for them. So they don't mean they can sort
- 6:42of get more done, maybe stay longer.
- 6:44Yeah, Fuck yeah. Because they've only they've
- 6:48only ever done like a few days on the moon, haven't they?
- 6:50It's not like they stayed a long time when they got up there.
- 6:53It's you know what is. 2-3 days. What's the longest someone has
- 6:59been on the moon? It is 75 hours, just over 3
- 7:06days. Yep.
- 7:07So yeah, it's. 30 I love you too.
- 7:12Same to you. She's saying happy birthday to
- 7:14me, it's my birthday. Oh, it is too.
- 7:17Oh well, no, sorry, that was yesterday.
- 7:19Oh, true. What's that?
- 7:24Pardon. Oh, I will.
- 7:27When I finish talking to Jean Luc, I'll be out.
- 7:29OK. OK.
- 7:36OK. I'll have a nice surprise.
- 7:38All right, Bye. OK.
- 7:44Oh, she's got a surprise ready for you for your birthday.
- 7:47Yeah, so cute. Do you know what it is yet?
- 7:49No. Should you be worried?
- 7:52I don't think so. It's probably good.
- 7:54Yeah. I'm almost positive I felt this
- 7:57story on the podcast right about the Scotch.
- 7:59Yes. Yeah, Eddie's favorite drink.
- 8:02Yep. I'd be surprised if she didn't
- 8:04insist on that, which I'm not mad about, but also if it's if
- 8:08it's not that, it's fine too. Yes, sorry, what were you
- 8:13saying? So we're just talking about like
- 8:15how long as someone has been on the moon, which is 3 days.
- 8:17Three days, yeah. Yeah.
- 8:18So I think they're still setting them up to stay longer hopefully
- 8:21and get more done. Yeah, yeah, they'll be sick.
- 8:26They they broke a record that they named a crater.
- 8:28That was the other thing they did when they were up there.
- 8:29I mean, they did other stuff too.
- 8:31But the the crater thing was very emotional because it was
- 8:33named after, I believe it was actually one of the astronauts
- 8:36wife who died. And that's nice.
- 8:40Yeah. So that was that was an
- 8:41emotional. This is the first time we've
- 8:42been around the dark thought and Moon hasn't it?
- 8:46You could get a good. So I think they actually put
- 8:48them extra training from geologists so they could when
- 8:52they were coming around, they could actually see things and.
- 8:55Yeah, because I know there's a photo and we've never had a
- 8:58photo of it before. Yeah, I believe.
- 9:01And there's a photo of it. It's the moon's butt.
- 9:04Yep. So no, that's super exciting.
- 9:08I can't wait to keep this going. Because then the next step is we
- 9:11build base on the moon, and then we start mining asteroids and we
- 9:14start building ships in space, Yes.
- 9:16And then we go to Mars. Yes, that's the sensible option.
- 9:21Mars and beyond, mate. Yeah.
- 9:22Well, the second you're able to start building stuff in space,
- 9:25you're taking away a lot of that effort to get into space.
- 9:29Yes, that's the most expensive part I feel.
- 9:32And actually I was talking to Fred about this the other day.
- 9:35Obviously 233 US American astronauts, US astronauts, one
- 9:45woman, my daughter, when I we said, are we going to watch the
- 9:50launch and everything like that? I don't know.
- 9:51I mentioned this the other week. We were like, oh, these are the
- 9:53astronauts. And she was like, oh, who's she?
- 9:55Right. Immediately more interested
- 9:57because there's a woman so anyone out there is wondering if
- 10:00if representation and. That is.
- 10:05Barely. It fucking does because she
- 10:06does. Instantly she was just like,
- 10:07who's that? And, and she already wanted to
- 10:11be an astronaut, but she's been talking about it because we
- 10:14watched the launch and everything like that.
- 10:15And she thinks she and I are going to the moon soon.
- 10:20OK, She said. She said you'll have to come
- 10:22with me. And I said why?
- 10:23And she goes because I'm a kid. Oh.
- 10:26OK. You're going to be an astronaut.
- 10:28Oh, that's. Yeah, exactly.
- 10:31Well, the, the sort of thing is, is she does have a chance to go
- 10:35to the moon. We, we're, we're, we're out, I
- 10:37mean. She's got to get a lot of stuff
- 10:39done. Yeah, in the meantime, but even
- 10:42in her lifetime it might become more of a accessible commercial
- 10:46thing. Yeah, even our late lifetime.
- 10:50Even perhaps. Like.
- 10:53Depending. Well, you look different.
- 10:54How we go, yeah. Yeah, But yeah, like, she's got
- 10:58a good chance. But if you look at even like air
- 11:01travel just now is more accessible than it was 50 years
- 11:04ago. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 11:06It's you. Know it's exponential.
- 11:08Yeah, so because I I'd love to go.
- 11:13I'd love to go. Yeah, that'd be cool.
- 11:15I'll go, I'll go. I'll be your janitor for the
- 11:17guys who do the mining. You'll be you'll be up there.
- 11:21Roger Wilko from Space Quest. The janitor be quite happy to do
- 11:26that. Yeah.
- 11:28I do a shit job but. No pun intended.
- 11:35Well, actually, they needed one. The toilet didn't work.
- 11:37Yes, the toilet didn't work for the first few days so that's the
- 11:39shit in the bags. Yeah, no, I think that they they
- 11:42could shit in the toilet, they couldn't pee in the toilet,
- 11:45something, Oh, I mean, I don't know the specifics.
- 11:48I don't see any footage of that. I noticed that the women
- 11:52astronauts have to train more to use the toilet than the men.
- 11:55Because they're stupid. No, it's because you can't pee
- 12:00and poop at the same time. This is an actual fact.
- 12:08I wasn't expecting you to say that, that's all.
- 12:10And for everything, for women, that is that it is.
- 12:14For men, that is facts. Yeah, yeah.
- 12:20All right. Space Facts.
- 12:23Yes, so oh. Dear.
- 12:28But very exciting. We're back, but what else will
- 12:31we have on here? Well, less exciting is this
- 12:35NVIDIA DLSS stuff. People are not super into that,
- 12:41but there's been a development I see.
- 12:44There was a there was a funny thing.
- 12:45So an Italian news channel, this local news channel was showing
- 12:51on showing on the news and put it out there and then they went
- 12:56on. I reckon some intern got a bit
- 12:58click happy they went onto YouTube and start putting
- 13:00copyright claims on anything that used the footage even
- 13:04though and they even took down the footage which they took it
- 13:06from. Right, so they took down
- 13:08Nvidia's footage. Yes.
- 13:11See, this can happen if you're not careful.
- 13:14Yes. Because yeah, when you put stuff
- 13:17up on YouTube where they have the content ID or whatever it
- 13:19is, yeah, you got to watch out for that.
- 13:21And because people get stung, musicians and stuff get stung
- 13:24too. Because if you don't do it and
- 13:26some other idiot does, it does, you can get screwed.
- 13:29I had an incident where I did music for a game and obviously I
- 13:35did music for the trailer specifically and the, the
- 13:38developer had the trailer up on YouTube like and, and embedded
- 13:41in the Steam page too. Actually, it was, it was even
- 13:44worse than just on YouTube. And I was with a company at the
- 13:50time and I uploaded the music for, you know, copyright and
- 13:55registration and yeah, royalties, the yadda, yadda,
- 13:57yadda. Anyway, and they did, I didn't
- 14:00realize they were going to do it.
- 14:01They they did the content ID thing and it took down the
- 14:04trailer. Yep.
- 14:06For the game and I got an angry. Call.
- 14:09Yes, you're. The developer.
- 14:11Sorry, sorry, sorry. No, that was not going to
- 14:12happen. I'll fix this.
- 14:13I, I, I was able to fix it. But yeah, it was very, it was
- 14:16embarrassing. But yeah, the they did what they
- 14:19were meant to do. But sometimes they do go a bit
- 14:21amazing. But in this case, I think
- 14:23nobody's crying for NVIDIA because people, we're not a fan.
- 14:27Of this and it was only in Italy YouTube that this happened that
- 14:30got taken down. But I just, I just found it
- 14:32funny that yeah, yes, the news just went, no, we're taking
- 14:36everything down. Yeah, Yeah.
- 14:40That's funny. Yeah, Watch out for that.
- 14:43Yeah. But yeah, it's it's going to
- 14:46happen. Unfortunately, it is going to
- 14:48happen. Yeah.
- 14:49Oh, it doesn't. And like I said, people
- 14:50weaponize it too. But yeah, we got where did we
- 14:54get a copyright strike on this show on It was on YouTube.
- 14:58We got one for. No, it was on Spotify.
- 15:01Spotify. That's right.
- 15:02That's why we changed the intro because even though we, I think
- 15:05we talked about this. Before, yeah, even though we
- 15:07paid for it. We paid for the music, but
- 15:08somebody's registered it now. Yeah.
- 15:10And because it's not ours, there's nothing we can do about
- 15:13it. Yeah.
- 15:14So. Because because the musical
- 15:16using it's the music they use in Always Sunny like it's.
- 15:20Yeah, it's from a music. It's from a library.
- 15:21Dan bought it like fucking 10 years ago.
- 15:25Yeah, like, well, what can we do about it?
- 15:28Who do we talk to? Like I don't even know.
- 15:30No, there's actually a story of a photographer she actually
- 15:34donated a series of photos to. I figured what she donated it
- 15:38to, but she went like here, you can have these and then they
- 15:40started using the they sold them off to use the stock images.
- 15:46And so now she can't even post her photo that she took because
- 15:50she donated to a museum or something who didn't sold it
- 15:52stock quote footage. So she's I don't have access to
- 15:56it. That's fucked up.
- 15:58And yeah, that's a bit wrong to on sell something that you were
- 16:00given. Yeah, well, that's, yeah, that's
- 16:03the catch to me too. Is that like, that's why I was
- 16:05like, oh, you know, you got to register them yourself.
- 16:07But then like I said, when you do that, like I discovered,
- 16:10sometimes he causes problems. Yes.
- 16:14But anyway, this isn't going to stop NVIDIA from releasing this.
- 16:20No, Nvidia's going to release it.
- 16:22Yeah, the CEO is arguing that it's it's fucking great and that
- 16:25everybody's wrong so. Yes.
- 16:27Oh look, I can sort of see it for some older games.
- 16:30I can, honestly. Sure.
- 16:32You mean it makes them look like what you remember them?
- 16:34Yes. Yeah, I've dipped into an old
- 16:38game actually on that topic because I been playing, I'm
- 16:43playing June Awakening still. Yes.
- 16:45And I guess because I've been watching June Awakening videos,
- 16:48the algorithm was like, you know what else you used to like Can
- 16:52you guess by Funcom? Conan.
- 16:57Conan. Do you want to watch Conan?
- 16:59You want some Conan videos because there's a bunch of new
- 17:01stuff in Conan. And OK, so I clicked on this
- 17:04video and this guy was like, Oh yeah, check out all this new
- 17:06Conan stuff. And I was like, oh, this does
- 17:07look good. So I installed it on the Xbox
- 17:11and I started playing it and I'm like, some of this stuff's not
- 17:14there or it's a bit different. I wonder if I could play it
- 17:20through GeForce Now. Yep.
- 17:23So I've got it on PC now I got managed to find it cheap.
- 17:26OK tell me if I'm if this is a bad thing.
- 17:30I I checked this is a legitimate steam key seller right?
- 17:35OK you don't have to buy games directly on steam.
- 17:38There are legitimate third party sites that sell them.
- 17:42And I was able to get it pretty cheap and I I did research and
- 17:47they told me they were legitimate.
- 17:48You tell tell me now, am I? Am I wrong?
- 17:52I I don't know because some of them I don't even.
- 17:56Want to say who it was just in case.
- 17:57But just in case, because there are some that will buy,
- 18:00basically, they know they're stolen.
- 18:02They know that it's a fake credit card.
- 18:05As far as I'm aware, these are absolutely not.
- 18:07It's just that they bulk buy them during the sale.
- 18:08I think that's how it works and it's not.
- 18:11It's not. There's nothing illegal about
- 18:12it. It it's just like a little bit.
- 18:14Yeah. Questionable because the the
- 18:16Steam sale was just long enough ago that I didn't get Conan
- 18:20Excels on sale. Well actually seeing I may
- 18:23actually have a copy I could have given you.
- 18:25Oh really? I should have asked.
- 18:27You should have asked because I've got a ton of steam keys.
- 18:32Anyway, my point was that just that I, I got it on the PC and I
- 18:35was like, oh, I wonder what it's going to look like.
- 18:36So I put it in GeForce cloud, loaded it up and I put it in
- 18:39like the maximum video quality. And then I was like, oh, it
- 18:43looks fine. I forgot this game's like 15
- 18:45years old. Yes, Yeah, sorry.
- 18:47Yeah. There's only so much, yeah.
- 18:49It's still good that they're still making content for it
- 18:52though. Yeah, it's still a fucking great
- 18:54game. It's addictive as hell, but
- 18:59yeah, so maybe this AI thing would make it look even more
- 19:02realistic. Yeah, that means I can get.
- 19:05I get full nudity now on the PC. That's the other because.
- 19:08For some reason it's the only one that had it.
- 19:10On the Xbox. Yeah.
- 19:13Yeah, I think North America, you couldn't get it.
- 19:17Yeah, maybe. I don't know.
- 19:18I know Dang couldn't get it at a time because you're he.
- 19:21He bought it when he was in Singapore, I think.
- 19:22Yeah, I bought it here, so. When I got mine it was just a
- 19:26free add on I got. It because Australia normally
- 19:30would have been the ones to say, you know, Dicks.
- 19:33Yeah, but no Dicks, tits, badge, it's all there.
- 19:40Yeah, on mine too now. Yep, and you can adjust the
- 19:43slider to see how big you want it.
- 19:46Yeah, sure can. You sure can.
- 19:50Yeah, no, I got a surprise when I was the only one that sort of
- 19:53got it because yeah, you're right, Australia is very much.
- 19:55But Australia, since we got the R rating, have.
- 19:58Loosened up. Loosened up a little bit because
- 20:01you didn't use them. Yeah, I.
- 20:05Thought like how come? I mean obviously massive time
- 20:08difference between the two but how come Cyberpunk could have
- 20:14Dicks and vagin everything out but Conan exiles can't?
- 20:19Massive gap obviously, but why can't they hatch it in if if
- 20:24things have changed you know? Like, I don't know, it was just,
- 20:27yeah, when I got it was just an add on that came with it.
- 20:30Yeah, I just wasn't, didn't buy anything further.
- 20:32I should check that, maybe there's a DLC.
- 20:35The DLC downloadable Dick DLD. Yeah, well now you're playing on
- 20:41PC, you can probably put mods on to change that as well.
- 20:44That's the other, that's the other thing.
- 20:45This guy had this UI mod that I was like, oh, that's sick.
- 20:48I can't do that on Xbox. So yeah, there's a bunch of
- 20:51stuff that I was like, oh, OK, and you can crank up, you can do
- 20:55this on Xbox too. But when you play single player
- 20:57on your own, if you go to the server settings, you can crank
- 20:59up stuff like the how much you get when you mine resources and
- 21:05like, so I was like, oh, I can give it just a little bit of a
- 21:08boost. Because I speed things up a
- 21:10little bit just. Because I'm I'm one of we played
- 21:13it a lot, but we only ever played really early content and
- 21:15I'm watching this video. Fuck.
- 21:16We never did any of that. So I was like I.
- 21:18Want to the problem is just. Kind of get check out some of
- 21:20the later game content. Anytime we made any progress
- 21:23they just reset our server. Yeah, that was fucking annoying.
- 21:26Yeah. And don't get me started.
- 21:29Yeah, E portal, Yeah, I mean, maybe G Portal's better, but,
- 21:33and it maybe it's not their fault either.
- 21:34The Conan service on G Portal though were a disaster.
- 21:37Yep. Look, we're paying for it and
- 21:40we're moving along. And then all of a sudden, just
- 21:42that reset to day one, Yeah. And it was a bug again.
- 21:44And oh, OK, don't worry, we've reset your server.
- 21:47OK, where's all that stuff? Oh, it's gone.
- 21:49Yeah, there's nothing we can do about that.
- 21:51Yeah, sorry. You just have to do it all over
- 21:53again. Yeah, that pissed me.
- 21:55Off I think that's what really stopped us playing was the fact
- 21:57that that just kept happening. It's like, why bother?
- 22:00Yeah, that's why I cheated. Went and got all the
- 22:02achievements except for one. Speaking of your stuff being
- 22:06taken away, Amazon this week is the one doing the shenanigans
- 22:13with digital purchasing and reminding us all that maybe we
- 22:16should be buying physical copies of things because two things,
- 22:21Kindle older Kindles will no longer be supported and they're
- 22:28just going to remove them from the registration systems and all
- 22:32that kind of stuff, right? So even though it's a perfectly
- 22:35working physical device with your stuff on it, if something
- 22:39goes wrong with it and you have to restore it, you can't so all.
- 22:44Your stuff is. Can you?
- 22:46It'll be bricked. It'll it'll be bricked.
- 22:48So you have to buy a new one. You would have to buy a new one
- 22:51to get you. There's no apparently if you're
- 22:55a older Kindle. I don't know exactly where the
- 22:57cut off is the but an older Kindle.
- 23:00If there's a problem with it and you need to restore something or
- 23:02you need to connect it, you won't be able to download books
- 23:05anymore. Oh.
- 23:06You won't get new ones on there and if you ever need to update
- 23:09or restore it or anything like that.
- 23:11Just break it. It'll break it.
- 23:16So people are like, oh fuck, why?
- 23:18Maybe you don't buy a Kindle, but I don't know.
- 23:22Defective devices include Kindle 1st and 2nd generation, Kindle
- 23:25DXDFDX, Graphite, Kindle Keyboard, Kindle 4, Kindle
- 23:30Touch, Kindle 5, and Kindle Paper.
- 23:32Like first generation, that's a lot.
- 23:34Yeah, and because Kindle Touch is on there, but like a lot of
- 23:37people don't like the touch ones and and I I got to say I had one
- 23:42that had the physical buttons and that was nice, but I don't
- 23:45know, it does bum me a bit that they took those away completely.
- 23:48Yeah, having the physical buttons is, I think, good, but
- 23:54basically any Kindle with physical buttons now, here we
- 24:00go. You'll still be able to read the
- 24:01books that currently have downloaded, but you won't be
- 24:02able to purchase or download new books.
- 24:04If the Kindle needs a factory reset for any reason, it will
- 24:07effectively become bricked. So basically you need to make
- 24:11sure you download every single book you have now, because
- 24:14that's it. And just hope that that thing
- 24:17never has a bug, which they do. Sometimes they get fucked up and
- 24:21you have to reset them. It's happened a couple times to
- 24:23me. And then the way to fix that,
- 24:25you should just go buy our new version of it, even though you
- 24:28had got a perfectly good working 1.
- 24:30Yeah, yeah, it's not good. And then the other one, Amazon
- 24:36as well. This one's arguably worse.
- 24:40Is that the Lunar cloud gaming thing?
- 24:43I I assume you've seen that it's like Amazon's cloud gaming
- 24:46service. Yeah, it didn't do well if I
- 24:48remember correctly. Yeah.
- 24:50So they're making some big changes in order to, it says,
- 24:53always looking for ways to better serve our players.
- 24:56They're going to change the way they're doing things and if you
- 24:59purchased games on there, you will.
- 25:03They're going away. And that that's it, yeah.
- 25:10So if you purchased a game on Luna to be able to play on that,
- 25:13you will no longer own that game because it's going away.
- 25:15They're not doing that anymore. How?
- 25:17Is this making things better for people?
- 25:19I'm not sure. I'm not sure, but obviously
- 25:22people are furious about this. You've got until June 20, June
- 25:2410th, and then all your games that you bought on Luna.
- 25:27If anybody did buy games, right, maybe they just maybe nobody
- 25:30did. They're not worried about this.
- 25:33I'm sure somebody must have, but starting today, Amazon will no
- 25:36longer offer individual game purchases or new third party
- 25:39subscriptions. You'll still be able to play the
- 25:41games you bought on Luna for a little while.
- 25:43Then on June 10, Amazon is removing that feature
- 25:46completely. And all of the games that you
- 25:49purchased on Amazon will go away if you if you purchase them on
- 25:56there and if you don't have another way to play the games
- 26:00that you. Purchase from.
- 26:01Like like Ubisoft, EA or whatever that you had linked,
- 26:06you won't be able to play them either.
- 26:07So what I'm reading from here you best off if you do want to
- 26:10keep using playing those games, you need to link to a third
- 26:13party account and you're you can play through there so you can.
- 26:17Still, you need hardware to play it on.
- 26:19Yes. Like where?
- 26:21What are you going to play this stuff?
- 26:22On Oh yeah, you were playing buying this.
- 26:24You're buying this so you didn't have the hardware so you can
- 26:27stream it. Yeah.
- 26:28So you should out of luck unless you buy something else, Yeah.
- 26:31Unless or you wait for Ubisoft, EA or another third party
- 26:34service to start streaming, which they're not going to.
- 26:39Yeah. So I think.
- 26:42Ubisoft. I mean, I know Ubisoft are
- 26:44basically just letting Microsoft handle their streaming
- 26:46essentially on the Xbox and everything.
- 26:49Yeah, so I I'm, you know, I'm kind of I guess I'm using
- 26:54GeForce cloud. The same thing could happen I
- 26:55guess. GeForce cloud, no way.
- 26:57But I just buy the games on Steam so.
- 26:59Yeah, you still own them, but you wouldn't the same thing, you
- 27:03wouldn't be able to play them. Right, I'd have to buy APC or
- 27:06something. Yeah, well, the future is
- 27:10streaming. Yeah, No, I did a cost analysis.
- 27:14If I spent, if I was to buy a PCI mean you'd spend what, 2
- 27:18grand at least Yeah, yeah, that is 20 years worth of G Force
- 27:25now. Yeah.
- 27:26So that just doesn't work out for.
- 27:28Me no. Because you have to buy a new PC
- 27:32every, what, 3-4, five years? Max, you don't have to anymore.
- 27:36No, I suppose, but like for gaming, right?
- 27:39No, even for gaming you don't really need to anymore.
- 27:42No. It's not like the old days where
- 27:44if you didn't upgrade your video card in three months or get new
- 27:47RAM then you might as well throw it away.
- 27:49You can't afford RAM anymore but.
- 27:50No, that's there's. An article on that in here too.
- 27:54PCI had before this one that still runs fine and was running
- 27:58Boulder skate 3 beautifully, which you've got now is and that
- 28:02one's probably 10 years old. This one here I've got now is
- 28:05probably already 4 years old and still running completely fine.
- 28:11So it's yeah it's not like you need to upgrade as much You only
- 28:15have to upgrade if you want to run an ultra Max settings yeah
- 28:19but even. Well, in my case, if I want
- 28:20ultra Max settings I have to pay an extra 100 bucks a year.
- 28:23Yeah, but I'm not doing that right now.
- 28:26I don't play. You don't need Ultra Max.
- 28:28No, no. Sometimes I think because I have
- 28:31an ultra wide program I haven't talked about this.
- 28:33Before I've. Got an ultra wide monitor and I
- 28:35can't play it ultra wide, but I actually don't like playing
- 28:38games like that. So it's more of, it's actually a
- 28:41feature for me is that it's just in the middle.
- 28:44Yep. The ultra wide is good for this
- 28:46because I've got show notes there, you're there.
- 28:48Other stuff I want to look at is over here.
- 28:52Yeah, that's why I've got set up that you're here and the show
- 28:54notes are here, so I can just. Yeah, but you've got 2 screens,
- 28:57right? You've got.
- 28:57Three screens, no one screen I've actually taken.
- 29:00I'm now using it as a television and bedroom.
- 29:02Oh OK. And so the other screen is my
- 29:05Xbox now. So I'm actually only using the
- 29:06one screen for the PC at the moment.
- 29:08There you go. Too many screens.
- 29:12I don't know. Not not begun.
- 29:13Too many screens. Yeah, I saw.
- 29:15That's why I sort of rolled back because I when I used to have
- 29:17three, there was a lot happening and I had to have something on
- 29:20all of them. And yeah, so I stopped that.
- 29:23Yeah, Speaking of the the the RAM prices and whatnot, the RAM
- 29:32shortage that AI is causing is also making SSD drives more
- 29:37expensive apparently. And as an example, a Western
- 29:43Digital Black two terabyte SSD used to be $173 in 2024, which
- 29:50was expensive. They are now $649.
- 29:55And then of course, with the upgrade, with the pricing going
- 29:58up on these, there's also going to be upgrade on just normal
- 30:01hard drives. Yeah, just normal hard drives.
- 30:03Because if you can't afford an SSD, what are you going to do?
- 30:06You're going to get a hard drive.
- 30:07So there's going to be more demand there.
- 30:08Drive them up. Yeah, the four terabyte version
- 30:11of the Samsung Pro SSDs, which I think I've got a few of them
- 30:15somewhere in a in enclosures. I don't think I bought the Pro
- 30:19once, but anyway, they were $320.00 for four terabytes.
- 30:22They are now nearly $1000. Shit.
- 30:27As this is not good. No this.
- 30:30Is not good. I mean, I'm not, I'm not an AI
- 30:35dumist, but I can't keep on. Like this can't continue, but
- 30:42from all signs they're not going to be slowing down on AI.
- 30:45They're doing stuff like Anthropic has said this week and
- 30:52people using open Claw that that thing, it's kind of like that.
- 30:56It's a bunch of tools. It's like an agent that can
- 30:58connect to your clawed or ChatGPT account and it does
- 31:02things on your behalf with the with the with the LLM Anthropic
- 31:07is saying now you're not allowed to use that on a normal Claude
- 31:11pro account, which is like the $20.00 a month 1.
- 31:14You have to buy a like a a Max like account, which is like $100
- 31:19a month because these things, these like agent things like
- 31:22open claw are just chewing through resources.
- 31:25Yes. And like people are like
- 31:27installing them and just doing dumb shit with them.
- 31:29Yeah, so. Yeah, but yeah, like it's, it's
- 31:33yeah. Price for frame, the water, the
- 31:35amount of water that they go through, yes.
- 31:37Insane. Yeah, yeah.
- 31:41I mean. Definitely, I've read somewhere
- 31:44that like you asking like chatshu PT one question is like
- 31:475 litres of water. Yeah, I've stopped spanking them
- 31:51when when they do things for me. I used to be polite and I'd go
- 31:53thank you at the end and then a little you're welcome.
- 31:55And then I realized don't do that.
- 31:58First of all, it costs me usage because I've got limited usage
- 32:02because I'm not buying one of the Max plans I'm using.
- 32:04I've got the $20 one on Claude. And.
- 32:06That's enough for me. So this is This is why the AI
- 32:09will take over the world soon, because we're forcing ourselves
- 32:11not to be nice to it. I know, yeah, it's going to get
- 32:15upset. Yep.
- 32:18Sorry it doesn't remember things.
- 32:20Oh, sure, it says. No it does.
- 32:22Trust me, I found that out yesterday.
- 32:24It depends if it they've made the tools now to have memories
- 32:29where it'll take notes of things but it doesn't remember in this
- 32:32in the true sense. Like the only reason it
- 32:34remembers those things is because it sends it every time.
- 32:37Yep. So it or it'll and you can go
- 32:41and delete it. Yeah.
- 32:43But it doesn't actually remember like a person remembers.
- 32:45Like if you say something, it's in my head now and I can't not
- 32:50know it, you know what I mean? Yeah.
- 32:56Anyway, AIAI. RAM, yeah.
- 32:59So don't think about buying RAM or hard drive anytime soon.
- 33:02No, Fuck no, no. Which is, which is scary for
- 33:07what's going to happen with the Steam.
- 33:10Yeah, Yeah. Well.
- 33:13The AO Neo next to we've got. Yeah, they just cancelled it
- 33:16because they weren't like we're not going to be able to give you
- 33:19what we promised with at this price point.
- 33:23Yeah, none of these side effects are good.
- 33:26No, but yeah, it's a shame. I was looking forward to a new
- 33:32Xbox. Yeah, well, the future is the
- 33:36cloud as you said, so. Yeah, but my Internet won't run
- 33:40well in the cloud. Oh really?
- 33:42God no, I forget how lucky I am got I got Gigabit.
- 33:46Yeah, I'm used to my Gigabit. They send me offers all the
- 33:49time. They're like, do you want that?
- 33:50I'm like, no, no, I'm not changing, leave me alone.
- 33:54Giving me Gigabit. The price is locked.
- 33:56Fuck off. I'm staying here.
- 33:58It's. Nothing you.
- 33:59Same with our phone plan. We're on a family plan.
- 34:03I've actually said this on Jenna's parents.
- 34:05It's so cheap. I don't even want to say how
- 34:06cheap it is because someone from T-Mobile will hear and go and
- 34:10get it. It's so cheap.
- 34:12It's, it's like absurd. We get unlimited data for like
- 34:16for nothing. Because.
- 34:17Grandfathered in because they've had cell phones with them for
- 34:20like God knows how long. And so we're on the family plan
- 34:24and and they apparently they call her all the time, Jenna's
- 34:26mom and they're like, oh, would you like to change your plan?
- 34:28She's like, no, stop calling me. I am never giving up this plan.
- 34:31Never, ever, ever. You made a mistake giving us
- 34:34this. Plan.
- 34:34We're starting up with it. The contract says you can't do
- 34:37anything about it. Stop calling me.
- 34:42Yeah, too late. Yeah, see, I, I wish I was
- 34:46something like we don't really have family plans in Australia.
- 34:49We. Yeah, I'm sure.
- 34:51They don't do it here either. Now this is some very ancient
- 34:54thing, yeah. But even like it's quite
- 34:56expensive, just it's the data, Yeah, they the thing that they
- 35:01try and advertise of all free calls and all this, but no one
- 35:04cares about that. Everything.
- 35:05It's only the data people really use now, remember?
- 35:07When they used to charge you for SMS usage.
- 35:09Yep, $0.20 per SMS that's. Fucking ridiculous.
- 35:12Cost them nothing. Yep.
- 35:16Well, that was that was how they made money.
- 35:18No, I know, I know. But yeah, just absurd.
- 35:20But at. The moment I actually I get like
- 35:22110 gig but something but I do get to bank it.
- 35:28Yeah, OK. As well.
- 35:29So like when I go to hospital, I'm basically because everywhere
- 35:34I've got Wi-Fi most of the time. So I bank, Yeah, when I'm in
- 35:37hospital, I've got no access to Wi-Fi.
- 35:39Oh really? Basically running just
- 35:41everything off go. To a better hospital mate.
- 35:45On the University Hospital. DSL connection.
- 35:48It's a University Hospital. I get what I get.
- 35:51Look at those teenagers looking after.
- 35:53You, Yep, popping me full of Special K.
- 35:58The serial. Yes, they're not very good at
- 36:02their job. No avenues, Netflix.
- 36:08Netflix put their prices up again here.
- 36:10I don't know if they're doing that.
- 36:11Yeah, I think we all saw something recently.
- 36:15They've been ordered to in in Italy.
- 36:18They've been ordered to refund people because here we go.
- 36:25What is it? They allowed changes to be made
- 36:28without stating A valid reason in the contract.
- 36:31So yeah, Italy's, it's got some interest.
- 36:35We want to isn't a good enough reason.
- 36:38Yeah, some, some interesting interpretation of the law over
- 36:41in Italy, but they've basically Netflix has to refund everybody
- 36:45for a, for a price hike or two. Oh, subscription price increases
- 36:52from 2017 to January 2024. That's a lot.
- 36:56Yeah. So as much as €500 each,
- 36:59wouldn't you love to get like that's a lot.
- 37:02Yeah. And what for Five Point?
- 37:05So for 5.4 million users to have to refund up to €500 each,
- 37:11that's a big hit. Yeah, yeah.
- 37:14Because you wanted more money. Because they're not making much
- 37:21stuff at any good stuff at the moment.
- 37:23So I think they're struggling to keep users like Stranger Things
- 37:25has come and gone. They've got Wednesday, they've
- 37:28got Danny Go. That's what I know is on Netflix
- 37:34at the moment. Lyri's in the Netflix right now.
- 37:38I. Don't know.
- 37:38Danny's charging him. But as I keep saying, like a lot
- 37:42of shows I actually do watch the first season of they just come
- 37:45and cancel. Yeah, Netflix is.
- 37:48Yeah, that's the meme, is that they just cancel everything for
- 37:51some reason. Yeah.
- 37:53Yeah, quickly, but no. News for the Italians Let's.
- 37:57Go wish I could get a refund from them.
- 38:00Yeah, because there are months that go by though I don't.
- 38:03Really know that's Asian. You get a refund and their
- 38:05subscription price has to go back to what it was, which
- 38:08presumably is like $10 or eight. I think it was 8 or $9.
- 38:11Originally, and then I have and then, oh, but I'll be very quick
- 38:14to come up with a new contract to go.
- 38:15Oh yeah, he's the reason. Of course, Yeah, yeah.
- 38:20But. Yeah, I think that will fix that
- 38:22loophole very quickly, but good on them.
- 38:25I take the refund. Because yeah, there's been
- 38:28months I've paid for it and I've forgotten my habit.
- 38:32Oh, see, I, I've done a few of that.
- 38:34I think, I think, why am I talking like that?
- 38:38I think Discovery we get because it's got HGTV and stuff on there
- 38:44and we sometimes like to watch, you know, those shows, but like
- 38:48I just forget about it for a long time.
- 38:49And I was like, you know what, if we remember and we want to
- 38:52watch something, I'll just bump a month on it that time, yeah,
- 38:55rather than just keeping it rolling because at.
- 38:57One stage I found out I was paying for Apple twice.
- 39:01What? Because I was paying for it
- 39:04through Apple, but then I'd also signed up through through Amazon
- 39:08or Paramount Plus. Oh God, and it I didn't realize
- 39:12that you've. Got to watch that, Yeah, and I'm
- 39:14sorry. That should just say I have an
- 39:15account and go no, you've got it.
- 39:18I saw actually that through so my Internet connection here is
- 39:22through Verizon and through my Verizon thing I can add on a
- 39:26bunch of TV stuff like Apple TV and Hulu, Disney, Netflix.
- 39:32This is like a package. And so I had to go in and do
- 39:34some math, but they're all the AD supported ones and I don't
- 39:39like. That I pay money not to watch
- 39:42ads, Yeah. So when I did the math on the
- 39:44upgrades and stuff I was like, oh OK, no, it's about the same
- 39:46as what I'm paying now anyway. Yeah, like there was one time
- 39:49like my subscription to YouTube Premium that had dropped off and
- 39:53I hit play once and it was and straight away and I went, I'm
- 39:57fixing that right now because no.
- 39:59I'm always like oh do I need it? First time I see an ad I do need
- 40:03it. Can hate ads?
- 40:07Ads are the worst, especially when they've just played the
- 40:09same ad over and over that I don't care about the.
- 40:12One that actually that annoys me is Amazon.
- 40:15Amazon again, because we have Prime and we get Prime TV and
- 40:21stuff like that. Yeah.
- 40:22And then they changed it so that you get ads unless you pay a
- 40:25little bit extra. Now that's like, yes, come on,
- 40:27I'm already paying you. Yes, and you're using them,
- 40:30which is probably why they want you to pay a little bit extra
- 40:33and it's not a lot extra, so no. It's not $3, but it's like,
- 40:37still, it's just like little paper cuts, like.
- 40:39Yeah, it's not something to kick up a stink about, and you're
- 40:41actually just fine. I'll do it but it.
- 40:43Is I just pay $3 when there's something on there I want to
- 40:46watch like Reacher comes out or Night Manager season 2 or
- 40:49whatever and all right, fine, you can have $3 while I watch
- 40:52this and then. That's all you need.
- 40:53I have, I have gotten better. I used to just have them all and
- 40:56now I just go like what, 1:00 AM I watching at the moment?
- 40:59I will get that. Yeah, I have to check with
- 41:01Jenna, but yes, same. Yeah, and because you can't
- 41:05share accounts as easily anymore either.
- 41:07No, they crack. Down on that, yeah.
- 41:09Yeah. There's the other thing.
- 41:10We used to just, you know, we'd get some Jordan, we'd get some,
- 41:14yeah, Parents had some, and we would just kind of like set up
- 41:17profiles on them. Can't do it anymore.
- 41:19No, they they definitely did not like that because that was
- 41:22basically you stealing from them even though you have that
- 41:25screen. Yes, I pay for that screen.
- 41:28Why can I not just use the screens?
- 41:32It's like with Koi used KO to watch the football and to watch
- 41:36it in four Ki have to pay extra and that comes with two screens.
- 41:40But the standard only comes with one screen.
- 41:42So I want to watch in 4K but that second screen's doing
- 41:46nothing and I can't give it the Netflix.
- 41:48Is like that the Netflix to get 4K you've got to do the Max 1
- 41:51which is like 4 screens and it's like we don't need that.
- 41:54We don't need that, yeah. Give us that in between thing.
- 41:57Yeah, look, there should be a way to work, like to work out, I
- 42:02only need this finished screens and I want it in this resolution
- 42:04and it works at a price point there.
- 42:06Yes. Because you're making me pay for
- 42:08extra screens that I'm not using.
- 42:10So why I'm paying extra for stuff I can't use?
- 42:13They want you to pay extra. That's why I was about to say,
- 42:15why don't they have like a list of add-ons, like a couple of
- 42:17bucks, like yeah, OK, a couple bucks.
- 42:19No, because then you would just give them less money.
- 42:21Yes, they don't want you to give them less.
- 42:23Money. They want all the money.
- 42:26Yeah, they care for all those good shows, all of them.
- 42:31Look, there's something that will be interesting to you and
- 42:34important under games Xbox achievements get overdue update
- 42:39to address feedback, which is interesting on of its own, but
- 42:43also because it implies that it's not going anywhere.
- 42:48Yes, it's definitely not going anywhere.
- 42:50Maybe, but it implies that they're not considering getting
- 42:53rid of them because they're taking action on them.
- 42:55But they do need to fix them. Well, they're doing some things,
- 43:01I'm sure you are you aware of this?
- 43:03This. No, I haven't actually read this
- 43:05yet, so I'm interested in this. They've basically they've taken
- 43:10a bunch of feedback apparently and they're like changing the
- 43:15animations and the icon. You can hide games from your
- 43:19achievement list if you want to. I don't know why you would need
- 43:21to do that unless it's. There are.
- 43:25Unless you want my pony and me showing up.
- 43:28There might be some of that, but there's also there are people
- 43:30out there who like to only show off that they've got like.
- 43:34Certain things. Certain things like they've
- 43:36completed all the games, they don't want to show off the ones
- 43:38that have got like no achievements or one.
- 43:40Of them is there's a new list that highlights 100% completed
- 43:45games. OK.
- 43:46I know people have been asking for that for quite some time,
- 43:48like the the platinum trophy that they have on, right.
- 43:52That makes sense. Yeah, Yeah.
- 43:56OK. Yeah, so I mean, it seems like
- 43:59it's not a huge bunch of changes, just a few little
- 44:01things. I mean, the new animations do
- 44:02look pretty neat. If you see them down the bottom
- 44:04there looks nice because they were very like.
- 44:07Old school, Yeah. Like they haven't really changed
- 44:10in years like since Xbox One. Yeah, yeah.
- 44:18Pop up YouTube, who lost lawsuit against Billy Mitchell, is now
- 44:21suing him. Carl Jobs must be.
- 44:24Yeah, it must be Carl Jobs. Wait.
- 44:25Where did you see this? I just saw it just popped up as
- 44:28an ad. What Carl Jobs suing Billy
- 44:33Mitchell he is for defamation. Oh, this is interesting.
- 44:43What? For some reason the worst legal
- 44:48drama on streaming platforms is getting a second season as
- 44:51YouTube and Kyle Jobs has filed A lawsuit with the United States
- 44:54District Court for the Southern District of Florida against
- 44:57former Donkey Kong High School record holder Billy Mitchell,
- 44:59accusing the gamer and hot sauce manufacturer.
- 45:02I keep seeing his ads on Facebook.
- 45:04Billy really hot sauce. We don't.
- 45:06We don't get his hot, saucy. Yeah, I see him on there all the
- 45:09time. Of unauthorized appropriation of
- 45:12name or likeness, defamation and intentional affliction of
- 45:15emotional distress. This is funny.
- 45:16I wonder if it's because Oh, because he, yeah, him because of
- 45:24him making fun of it. Because I think the argument is
- 45:27going to be if Billy could win against him for for saying shit,
- 45:31well surely he can win. Win against him.
- 45:33Because he did it to him. I mean, it's going to be his
- 45:36argument basically. The pullings point out a
- 45:39separate statement from Mitchell share in August 25 live stream
- 45:43that claimed job scams he viewers out of two out of
- 45:46200,000, adding actually adding he actually scanned his viewers
- 45:49out of more than $500,000, which he didn't He actually went out
- 45:54to it was. A misunderstanding.
- 45:57Well, no. Oh, but yeah, they're good.
- 46:00People did get upset with him though.
- 46:01Thinking I thought, I thought the way he handled that was
- 46:04good. So what happened was he said
- 46:06he's suing Billy Mitchell? No, Sorry.
- 46:08No. He's been.
- 46:09Including Kim, yes, right. And people thought the lawsuit
- 46:14was about the cheating and yes, they were going to prove that
- 46:18Billy Mitchell was a cheater. It wasn't even remotely about
- 46:21that. It was about defamation.
- 46:22Yes, Carl said afterwards people got upset with him and he said I
- 46:27own that. I didn't do enough to clarify.
- 46:30And even though I knew, if yes, I knew what the lawsuit was
- 46:35actually about, I think yeah. I think the way that Karl talked
- 46:39about it did imply if you weren't, you know, following it
- 46:45too closely, that you might misunderstand what the laws.
- 46:48Yeah. And people gave him money on the
- 46:51basis that they thought it was about the cheating.
- 46:53Cheating, which is where he might struggle a little bit with
- 46:55this. Yeah, I will say.
- 46:58I hope not. Yeah.
- 47:00Because I don't think even what Karl drops actually said should
- 47:06have won. I mean, we should have won off
- 47:09because basically he came out and said there's another there's
- 47:14another YouTube who basically he also was about another YouTube
- 47:20that Khodrop spoke about that went like he'd also sued this
- 47:22him, but he backed down and then that YouTube to his life and a
- 47:26sort of he was sort of people that was saying that he he was
- 47:30basically claiming that Billy Mitchell was the cause of him
- 47:32taking his life. Yes, yeah, he said that, Yeah.
- 47:35But Carl Jobs told his viewers Billy Mitchell was responsible
- 47:40for that person's death was the crux.
- 47:42Of which which I don't think he actually said that.
- 47:44I don't think he did too, but obviously the court thought
- 47:47that. The court.
- 47:47Borderline or or they thought it was enough of a.
- 47:50Yeah, but but there's even like things with Billy Mitchell where
- 47:54he made a joke about when he found out that he died, so.
- 47:58But I think to the problem, not the problem is The thing is you
- 48:01and I follow this. We know we've followed Carl for
- 48:04a long time. We've followed Billy Mitchell
- 48:06for. A long time.
- 48:07So we know the back story and stuff.
- 48:08I think the problem probably from the court's perspective, is
- 48:11that if you're a casual viewer and you watch this thing, what
- 48:14is the what do you come away with?
- 48:15Billy Mitchell caused this person to die.
- 48:18Yeah, You know, the courts actually don't go in and look
- 48:21into their history. They only look at what's
- 48:23presented to them. So I'm not saying Billy Mitchell
- 48:26did. I'm saying that's what people
- 48:27would think. OK, Don't sue me, Billy.
- 48:28OK? I do not think that you you did
- 48:31that. No, I'm not telling anybody you
- 48:33did that, No. No, I'm saying that's what
- 48:36people may have thought. Yes.
- 48:39Apparently Billy Mitchell referred to this lawsuit earlier
- 48:42on X and he said I look forward to winning best supporting
- 48:44actor. Again, very funny.
- 48:49Oh, it's going to be interesting.
- 48:51And what I can do now, Yeah. You're putting it in Segway.
- 48:55Putting it in. I just realized we should do
- 48:58that. I put it under games.
- 49:01Perfect. And make sure mine should
- 49:03refresh and show it in a second. There it is, The system works.
- 49:06The system works all right. So add the link in it just added
- 49:16in the title I think. No other way around.
- 49:19Oh yeah, you're right. Oh, you put it the wrong way,
- 49:21mate. What are you doing?
- 49:23OK, that's on me then. I thought I clicked.
- 49:26I thought I'd put it in the URL hang.
- 49:28On let's try that. Nah, looks like this bug.
- 49:31OK, I found a bug anyway. Ignore that for now, I'll fix
- 49:35that afterwards. I'm testing it so I joined my
- 49:37drops. This is a good test.
- 49:40There's some news that I thought was interesting this week about
- 49:42Interstellar. Did you see this?
- 49:44I had no idea this was the case. Apparently, Steven Spielberg was
- 49:51going to direct Interstellar for quite a while.
- 49:55OK. He and the screenwriters or
- 49:58yeah, Kip Thorne and the other screenwriters were working
- 50:03together on Interstellar for a long time.
- 50:05And then Jonathan Nolan was brought in to work on the script
- 50:10to write early drafts. No.
- 50:13And they said they were working on it.
- 50:14And then apparently Steven Spielberg said, I don't think
- 50:17this film is for me. And.
- 50:19Apparently Jonathan Nolan said to him, if you don't want to
- 50:23make this, my brother will make this.
- 50:25Like he, he is, he's I've already told him about it and he
- 50:28is already like, is, is he? Is he going to make it?
- 50:31Because I'll make it if he doesn't make it.
- 50:33And then Spielberg was like, you know what?
- 50:35Let him have it. And actually that's really
- 50:38interesting because I always Christopher Nolan often is like
- 50:45the the the the genesis of his films was him sort of thing in
- 50:50my mind. And so just to hear that he
- 50:53actually took over from Spielberg on this is interesting
- 50:55to me. Like he that the this idea
- 50:59existed before Christopher Nolan came along.
- 51:02I wonder if it maybe also had something to do with the fact
- 51:04that once Jonathan Nolan came in, he actually saw the script
- 51:09sort of changing to wait. He went, no, this isn't for me.
- 51:12And sure, Jonathan sort of got his idea, so, you know, his
- 51:15brother would really enjoy it. And that's sort of where the
- 51:18difference sort of came from. Yeah, maybe.
- 51:22Apparently Christopher Nolan has mentioned this briefly in the
- 51:26past, like, as in earlier this year.
- 51:29But like, just, yeah, I don't think this was known before.
- 51:32No. So, yeah, interesting.
- 51:36It would have been a very different movie with Spielberg.
- 51:38I yeah, I think you're like, definitely.
- 51:40I mean, I'm sure. I mean, well, early Spielberg I
- 51:46love a lot. I don't know what he's doing
- 51:48lately. I don't know.
- 51:49Yeah. I wonder how this would have
- 51:50turned out had he done it. There's there's for a lot of his
- 51:54movies are hit and miss for me. Really.
- 51:56Yeah. Like a lot of them.
- 51:57You don't like close encounters, right?
- 51:59No, I hate that movie. I like it, but yeah.
- 52:05Like a mountain out of Mashed potato.
- 52:07Who has that much Mashed potato? You like Mashed potato?
- 52:11I love Mashed potato, but who has that much?
- 52:15What's his name? What is his name?
- 52:17Oh, Guy from Jaws. Jaws, Yeah.
- 52:19Who liked his name? That actor.
- 52:23Yeah, he had a lot of Mashed potato.
- 52:26Yeah, on other movie news, actually we've got a couple
- 52:29movie news things that are interesting. 1 is that the
- 52:31there's a new Mummy movie coming out, but it's not the Mummy
- 52:34movie that everybody is talking about.
- 52:36There's a Mummy movie coming out that is not the Brendan Fraser
- 52:40one. Oh, I want that one to hurry up
- 52:43and be made. Well, it is being made, but in
- 52:46between then and now there is there was already, before any of
- 52:49that was announced, there was already a Mummy movie being
- 52:52made. It's like a reimagining of The
- 52:54Mummy and that's coming out and apparently people are so
- 52:59confused about it that the literally the marketing campaign
- 53:03for this movie, Lee Cronin's The Mummy, they've changed.
- 53:07It's called Lee Cronin's The Mummy.
- 53:08Now. This is not this is not the
- 53:11Mummy that you'll think it is. And all the marketing for it now
- 53:15says not starring Brendan Fraser.
- 53:17So to make it clear, they're literally tweeting once a week
- 53:21at this point. It says here, unfortunately,
- 53:24it's proven a bit of a headache for the marketing department for
- 53:26Lee Cronin's The Mummy. It's gotten to the point that
- 53:28Blumhouse has gotten to the unusual step of making daily
- 53:30posts on it, reminding fans that Brendan Fraser is not in this
- 53:34movie. That's very funny.
- 53:39They and they're still going to get people who have got to go
- 53:42see it thinking it's complaining.
- 53:44We got to complain. That's just bad timing, yeah.
- 53:48But I mean, I mean, maybe it'll go well for them.
- 53:50They'll get more people. They'll get more people in the
- 53:53door, but yeah. That's.
- 53:55That's really funny. It's going to be Brendan Fraser.
- 53:58Yeah, I think it's really funny that their official like
- 54:01marketing department is. Saying the.
- 54:04Mummy without Brendan Fraser like.
- 54:08No, we don't get the Brendan Fraser 1 to 2028.
- 54:11Yes, I'm so happy that's happening just because.
- 54:14So happy he's back. Yes.
- 54:16It was horrible. Agreed.
- 54:18He's the one that paid for it. Yeah, when he.
- 54:21Came wrong. Oh, I thought he would pay for
- 54:23the movie. Yeah, good.
- 54:27I'm glad he paid for it. He paid with it with his career.
- 54:32Yeah, because he wouldn't be. Sexually assaulted?
- 54:36Yeah. Basically, yeah.
- 54:40Yeah, I know it's one. Of those things too, because.
- 54:44I know we've talked about this before, but like at the time it
- 54:47happened, what like 90s, early 2000s, I think there was, I
- 54:51think he maybe rightly thought people aren't going to believe
- 54:55this like that. And because Terry Crews, I mean,
- 55:01people were like, like, OK, quiet down, Terry Crews, this is
- 55:03not about you. But I do think it's interesting.
- 55:05Terry Crews was like, assaulted by somebody, and he was.
- 55:12It's. A fucking Terry Crews, he's like
- 55:13an enormous man and then he was going to he was said they were
- 55:17at an event and he was like his wife told him just leave it
- 55:22because it's not worth it because.
- 55:23No one is going to. Believe.
- 55:25Leave. Yeah, yeah.
- 55:26It's like you're a man. Like, who's going to believe
- 55:28that would happen? Look at you.
- 55:30Yeah, Yeah. And it's not worth your career.
- 55:34Like for Brendan Fraser, like he started.
- 55:36Off as a bit of a joke but his career was that's he was
- 55:39actually becoming yeah a bit more serious still comedy but he
- 55:43was true was on the up when all this happened yeah and then it
- 55:46got got nose dived because. Yeah, because somebody.
- 55:50I forget. I don't know who.
- 55:51I don't have you said who? Somebody.
- 55:54Yeah, someone not with the Oscars.
- 55:56With another. Awards.
- 55:58Yeah, it was an incident and it was.
- 56:00An inappropriate incident with somebody in power.
- 56:05And he didn't just let it go. He pursued, you know, doing
- 56:10something about it. And.
- 56:11And then he got blacklisted for it.
- 56:14Yeah. Which is fucking shitty and I'm
- 56:17glad. Well, I was going to say I'm
- 56:19glad that's I'm glad we've solved that problem.
- 56:21We probably haven't, but there's an exception that we have at
- 56:24least I think it's better. I hope it's better.
- 56:26I hope it is, but still we. Were talking the other day I
- 56:31think. After trivia about just like
- 56:35just, you know, that it gets slowed down now.
- 56:38But there was a period there where we were finding out that
- 56:40just every fucking actor that we love had been like, who's an old
- 56:44man to do stuff? Oh.
- 56:45Yeah, fucking asshole. Yes, like.
- 56:49All the men were asshole. Can't leave women alone.
- 56:51Like and all the women were. Sort of forced into.
- 56:54Doing stuff to get their careers started.
- 56:57I know there was like a like an avalanche of it, just they're
- 56:59all a. Bunch of fucking knobs.
- 57:01Yeah, like who was it that like didn't want the?
- 57:05Intimacy coordinator. Yeah, no, I shouldn't be able
- 57:09to. Touch whatever I want.
- 57:10To touch, if I, if I feel it's going the right way, I'm going
- 57:13to do it. That's why we need the intimacy
- 57:15coordinator, because she doesn't want that.
- 57:17Yeah, ridiculous. Yeah.
- 57:19And even like. If Mary Abraham like like his
- 57:24was. Just making jokes.
- 57:25But it's like you've been told mate, just stop doing it.
- 57:27How fucking? And I'm guessing he didn't get
- 57:29one warning. I'm guessing you've probably.
- 57:31Pulled aside a couple of times and because you wouldn't like, I
- 57:34assume you wouldn't. He he's a very famous.
- 57:38Well, you know. Renowned actor?
- 57:40Yeah, if he said if he did one thing wrong, you'd go, OK, we'll
- 57:44give him a warning. Yeah, like you might.
- 57:46It must have been must have been multiple and like pulling aside.
- 57:50That he was told, they said he was told, and you just kept
- 57:52doing. It and it's just kept doing it.
- 57:54The fuck? How hard is it?
- 57:56And then even. We found out of like.
- 57:59Josh Whedon when he. Yeah, and he's and he's an
- 58:03interview. Like he deserved.
- 58:05It because he couldn't get these girls in high school.
- 58:07It's complicated because when I heard about it I was like, oh, I
- 58:09guess it's maybe. It's a grey area.
- 58:11But then that interview he did was such a fucking disaster.
- 58:13Like, Yep, hearing him talk about it's like, Oh no, OK, I
- 58:18was watching a bit of Buffy this week.
- 58:20And it was actually quite sad because two of the stars are
- 58:23dead now. I know somebody posted on
- 58:25Reddit. If you put the DVDs, I forget
- 58:29which DVDs, one of the DVDs, the menu is Xander and Dawn, just up
- 58:34there in the clouds, like yeah. Yeah, they used to do those. 90s
- 58:37DVD menus. It's just they're floating up in
- 58:40the clouds looking like ghosts, and it's like, oh, God, yeah.
- 58:44Yeah, no it. Was actually yeah, like because.
- 58:47Especially with Dawn, like she was our age.
- 58:50Dawn. Dawn was younger than I was.
- 58:54She was 39. When she died, I think.
- 58:56That's not our age mate. OK, I can believe.
- 58:59I'm on the phone, especially when muffy.
- 59:00Was on TV, that was that would. Have been significantly younger
- 59:04than us yes all right I know what you.
- 59:07Mean but. Who was the closest to our age?
- 59:11I think Elijah. Dishku is the closest to.
- 59:12Our age, I think, I think she's like about our age.
- 59:16I think she was because she was young.
- 59:19She was young. When she started though I think
- 59:20as. Well, I think.
- 59:21Yeah, she's 45. She's she's OK our age.
- 59:25Although I'm technically today older than her just today and
- 59:29I'm and I'm she'll catch up. I'm technically younger than
- 59:33her. That's.
- 59:34True. All right for the.
- 59:36Next two weeks. I think Allison Hannigan was the
- 59:40oldest, which is I've always. Thought and she oh wait, was it
- 59:42charisma cut? Was charisma cut the older?
- 59:44I don't know, I think, but I don't think Allison Hannigan was
- 59:47significant. Charles was the oldest.
- 59:52Yeah. Uh huh.
- 59:55Anthony Stewart Head. Yeah, the other film news that.
- 1:00:01Interested me this week is that the Alien Three assembly cut
- 1:00:06just is on HBO Max now. They just put it up, which I
- 1:00:10thought was very interesting and also I thought was interesting
- 1:00:14because I like that version of Alien 3I.
- 1:00:17Like Alien 3. I think, I don't know why,
- 1:00:21because I saw it when I was young.
- 1:00:22I know it's controversial. People don't like it.
- 1:00:25I think the the worst part about that is this.
- 1:00:27They killed. Off characters that you just
- 1:00:29spent through an entire movie, sure.
- 1:00:31But when I was a kid, like I mean, when did this?
- 1:00:33It didn't. Matter.
- 1:00:35Yeah. Alien 3.
- 1:00:36Came out in. Early 90s What it 1992 I was 12.
- 1:00:40Right. So I didn't watch this when it
- 1:00:43came out. I watched it later, yeah.
- 1:00:46And I basically watched all of them.
- 1:00:48I watched all three. I didn't question it because
- 1:00:50that's just how it was. I mean, there was no period
- 1:00:52where I was like, was that a time when you didn't pick movies
- 1:00:55apart? That.
- 1:00:56Well, that too, but but also like.
- 1:00:59Now I, you know, if a movie is going to come out and it's a
- 1:01:02sequel to a movie you loved, you've got these ideas about
- 1:01:04what's going to happen and all this kind of stuff.
- 1:01:05And then you you go, OK, that's not what I wanted at the time
- 1:01:09when I was a kid. This is the story, yes, I had.
- 1:01:12There was no questioning it. It's like that was it.
- 1:01:15Also, we probably shouldn't have been watching.
- 1:01:17It at that age anyway. No, I definitely didn't watch it
- 1:01:19in 1990. Two, I watched it later I
- 1:01:23remember watching Aliens when I was I watched.
- 1:01:25Aliens. When I was too young to watch
- 1:01:27Aliens. Yeah, I was.
- 1:01:27Probably several right when I watched Aliens.
- 1:01:30Aliens and RoboCop I remember both of.
- 1:01:32Those I watched when I was too young to probably watch those
- 1:01:35movies. RoboCop, I think, was RoboCop.
- 1:01:38Was definitely too young, but there's only two scenes in that
- 1:01:40which really freaked me out. Yeah, on the death, the murder
- 1:01:44of. Murphy.
- 1:01:46And then? The other one where that guy
- 1:01:47gets covered in the goose and then.
- 1:01:48Just splattered against the van. That's apart from that anyone
- 1:01:53can watch it. Good movie, great movie.
- 1:01:55Very funny. Actually, I I even as a kid I
- 1:01:57thought it was. Funny, I was just very disturbed
- 1:01:59by some of the violence. But yes.
- 1:02:01But yeah, the assembly version of Alien 3 is very good.
- 1:02:04It's different. It's got scenes added back in,
- 1:02:06it's much longer and it's got the alien gestates in a cow
- 1:02:13instead of a dog. And so it's got that's how it
- 1:02:15was originally supposed to be in the script and everything like
- 1:02:19that. It's basically it's more like
- 1:02:20what Fincher wanted it to be before they took it off him.
- 1:02:23I don't think I've seen this version.
- 1:02:25The only problem with. It is I.
- 1:02:27We did a rewatch of Alien Aliens, Alien Three.
- 1:02:31We didn't do Resurrection, I don't think, But I said to Jenna
- 1:02:34the assembly cuts really good. She'd never seen Alien 3, and so
- 1:02:37she lost the Assembly Cut first. And she fucking hated it.
- 1:02:42Because it's it's long. And it's.
- 1:02:44Like I think it, I think it's better, but I think you have to
- 1:02:48be into it to like to like it. Maybe like it's more of a
- 1:02:56sometimes. I feel this about old.
- 1:02:58Movies in general, is that like, I like these janky versions of
- 1:03:03them because it tells me more about the movie and the creative
- 1:03:06process and the listing the things we're going to go and all
- 1:03:09this kind of stuff. Whereas if you just ever seen a
- 1:03:11movie before, you just want to watch a movie, it might not be
- 1:03:13the best Yeah, you to watch it the first time.
- 1:03:16That's that's especially it's harder with showing someone
- 1:03:19older. Movies that you grew up
- 1:03:21laughing. Yeah.
- 1:03:22Yeah. Like introducing.
- 1:03:24Someone to that because we grew up.
- 1:03:25Watching this like this, she didn't like Highlander.
- 1:03:28I put Highlander on and I'm like.
- 1:03:30I see the jank, yes, but we grew up with that and that's.
- 1:03:34All we had and we loved it. Well, like I said, you didn't
- 1:03:38question it because that's the movie.
- 1:03:39Was, and there's no concept of how a movie was made.
- 1:03:44When I watched Highlander, I didn't think about that shit.
- 1:03:45It was only later. Oh, I did start.
- 1:03:50Watching Alien Earth. Oh, this.
- 1:03:55It's very strange. Yeah.
- 1:03:58Also the start opening of it. I was quite confused.
- 1:04:02They come out of Chi like Chi asleep.
- 1:04:05Yeah, crazy. We have Chi asleep to have
- 1:04:08something to eat. Yes.
- 1:04:09Talk about Prodigy. And then go back to sleep.
- 1:04:12I don't remember that four months from Earth they just wake
- 1:04:14up 4. Months from earth and go.
- 1:04:15Oh, we're four months away. Talk about this other prodigy
- 1:04:19just to lay the foundation that there's another company and then
- 1:04:22they go back to sleep. I don't remember that, but yeah,
- 1:04:25I mean, I mean, I'm of all the. Things that annoyed me about it,
- 1:04:27that's that'd be on the list, I suppose.
- 1:04:30But no, yeah, I'm just up to the part where she's got in to
- 1:04:34rescue her. Brother and just met up with him
- 1:04:37and yeah, OK. Oh, so you're a couple of
- 1:04:40episodes in, right? Yeah, Oh yeah, just.
- 1:04:44Was not what I was expecting. No, it was very, it was very
- 1:04:46popular. It's not for me.
- 1:04:48But yeah, Freezing 2 is coming out.
- 1:04:51Yep. Peter Dinklage is going to be in
- 1:04:52it. Yep.
- 1:04:55So I mean, he's in. Everything.
- 1:04:56So whatever I. Don't know, I know James Cameron
- 1:05:00like Daily NI mean it does do something different.
- 1:05:02I just don't think it fits in with my idea of the others.
- 1:05:08No, that's a me problem. I guess if other people like it,
- 1:05:10fair enough, but it just doesn't fit with my concept of that.
- 1:05:13Well, neither does Alien VS Predator, as we've talked about
- 1:05:15ad nauseam. So Yep, like I like the last
- 1:05:19Alien movie. What was that one?
- 1:05:22Romulus. Romulus.
- 1:05:23Romulus was good. It was.
- 1:05:24All right, pray. The other like, Oh no, pray was
- 1:05:28predator, pray was good, Romulus yeah, pray was great.
- 1:05:30I want more of that Predator Badlands.
- 1:05:32I didn't like Romulus. Is all right.
- 1:05:35It had some stuff in it that I was like.
- 1:05:36The ending got a bit weird. I I.
- 1:05:39Don't think we don't have to. Do this again.
- 1:05:41I'm sure I talked about this at the time.
- 1:05:42I didn't like the ash. Fucking CGI ash that was too.
- 1:05:46Weird. You don't.
- 1:05:47He didn't. Have to be in there.
- 1:05:48Androids don't all have to look the same.
- 1:05:49It was like not necessary. I didn't think it was necessary.
- 1:05:56It could have, yeah. It didn't.
- 1:05:57Have to be there. I think that was just to try and
- 1:05:59throw back. And oh, the ending.
- 1:06:01Actually, the ending I didn't mind so much I like.
- 1:06:03Because I like Prometheus. Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:06:06I just got a bit weird when it's that.
- 1:06:08Huge weird looking thing. And I know.
- 1:06:11Yeah. But you know where we can
- 1:06:14discuss this more? Or maybe other things?
- 1:06:16What? Yeah.
- 1:06:17Who? What?
- 1:06:17Where, Why? How we?
- 1:06:19Can continue discussing this in the after party.
- 1:06:21What's the after party, Luke? The after place where we're
- 1:06:23going to continue talking. For another 10. 20-30 minutes
- 1:06:26depending on how we feel, where we will, and to get there you

- 1:06:34give you for free. How much money?
- 1:06:36The first one was $5.00 a month. 5-5 dollars.
- 1:06:39USI guess we should clarify people have.
- 1:06:41Said before it's not $5 where I live.
- 1:06:43OK, fair enough. It's $5 where I live because
- 1:06:47and. And you do get all of the.
- 1:06:49After parties, not just from when you sign up, you get them
- 1:06:51all. So there's a lot there.
- 1:06:52There's hundreds of hours there. Yeah.
- 1:06:54Oh yeah, yes, if you for some. Reason Want to hear us talk for
- 1:06:58hundreds of hours? That is a place that you can do

- 1:07:05are going to be a bit different this week.
- 1:07:07Oh. We're actually not going to have
- 1:07:09to end this. Recording and then do another
- 1:07:11one and. Then do another one.
