- 0:38[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome back to another episode of The Dogs Podcast.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_01]: Josh, all your host here on a Tuesday of weathered buddies week is starting off well, kind of raining here today.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_01]: We had a beautiful day yesterday for the most part.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_01]: But such is weather in Ohio.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_01]: In June, you just really never know.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_01]: Honestly, my birthday was last week and it's kind of been the story of my whole life on my birthday.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be cold, hot, humid, rainy, you just never know.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_01]: But that's where we're at.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_01]: Today is a big day for the Browns.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_01]: We kick off mandatory veteran mini camp today.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_01]: So the off season spring program comes to a final conclusion.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_01]: This week.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_01]: So we've been detailing things.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_01]: Since, I mean, I guess everything really started in April, so teams that got new head coaches, Browns being one of them, Todd Munkin got to have his voluntary veteran mini camp back in April.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_01]: If you remember that was before the draft took place, then we had the draft and then the rookie mini camp was next and then we had three weeks of OTAs, which wrapped up last week and now entering the final piece of this whole situation.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_01]: The mandatory veteran, many camp this is when Miles Garrett would have finally reported to camp.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_01]: If he was still on the team, we'll see Denzel Ward there today, everybody who hasn't been there previously will be there this week.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_01]: So, we'll talk maybe a little bit here today about some OTA risers and fallers, things we want to look for heading into the mini camp.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_01]: We've just got a whole lot of odds and ends, news pieces here and there to get to today that I want to talk about.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_01]: So, let's just dive in, let's just kick it off here.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_01]: The Browns, this is the big one I wanted to talk about here at the top of the show, and I know some of you out there may not really care about this, but the Browns players were involved, and I want to talk about it.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_01]: They, Washington say they wasn't the team, several browns players.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't everybody, but it was some of the young guys and new guys on the team got together, I guess.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_01]: I honestly don't really know the full details of this story because it hasn't been widely reported or covered in the mainstream media, not surprised about that, but I'm going to do my best to give it its fair highlight here.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_01]: But several players.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_01]: led the first ever Cleveland for Christ event Sunday this past weekend at the Buria municipal pool.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_01]: So in coordination, I believe here, let me bring up some of my notes for this, but it was
- 3:17[SPEAKER_01]: Cleveland Ministries, the Cleveland FCA, they were promoting this event as a community worship service to bring people together around the Christian faith.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_01]: So you had, and again, there might have been more guys there from the team than what I saw listed, but from what I was able to find, you obviously you had Carson Swesinger, last year's defense at Rookie of the Year, Mason Graham, last year's top five overall pick.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_01]: We had Tyson Campbell,
- 3:45[SPEAKER_01]: Daniel Thomas, Blake Whitehart, Jack Stoll, and Shador Sanders were all at this event.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_01]: And again, if I forgot anybody that that was there, drop it in the comments.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_01]: Let me know if I missed anybody.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_01]: But these guys got together with community leaders and brought the public together at this event.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_01]: They did.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_01]: There was worship music, there was prayer, public testimonies of faith, they even had baptisms, Carson, Swesinger got baptized, that was the popular video going around on social media was of Swesinger getting baptized, it was just a
- 4:19[SPEAKER_01]: really cool event.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_01]: I posted about it on X the other day, shout out to Rebecca on X.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_01]: If you're listening or watching, I just want you to know I, I love what you posted.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_01]: She shared on that post a couple images photos of herself getting baptized at the event.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_01]: She says she got to sit down with Blake Whiteheart, the Browns Titan, and talk about how football saved her life.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_01]: She didn't elaborate on the story.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_01]: She doesn't need to.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_01]: I just thought it was awesome that she was willing
- 4:46[SPEAKER_01]: her pictures and share her story on the post with everybody else.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_01]: So overall pretty cool event and we'll see if they decide to do a you know a second annual next year but I just wanted to highlight that event from over the weekend and really what it leads me into.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_01]: is a culture shift for the Cleveland Browns.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_01]: This is a young team.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_01]: And anybody out there that's telling you or posting about how this team is going to go.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, and 17, and I see that all the time.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, there's an old 17 team.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_01]: Guys, back it off.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_01]: Come on.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_01]: and talking about how all this rebuilds going to take forever and this team's going to suck.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_01]: And my goodness, the negativity out there is insane, but if you just look at what the browns have done, the players they've brought in and what the players are doing.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_01]: Again, what people say is important.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, we listen to what people say, coaches and Andrew Barry and the players and stuff.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_01]: But follow their actions, actions over words.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_01]: I think is a big theme that I've started to bring on to this show, especially when talking about the Miles Garrett trade, they came out and they said, oh, Miles is a career brown.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yaddi Addiata, people want to latch on to these words that were said.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_01]: But you've got to follow the team actions
- 6:08[SPEAKER_01]: the bonus date to September, like that, that speaks a little louder than the words.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_01]: So for the words in the actions, look at what the young players on this team are doing.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's the big highlight for me.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_01]: There's energy here, guys.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_01]: There is...
- 6:28[SPEAKER_01]: ah, there's hope, but it's not like a desperate, oh, we can get there guys type of thing like we've been beat down.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_01]: You gotta remember, all these young players that are here are new, you know, whether they were here last year as rookies, this year as new rookies or new additions to the team through free agency trades, what have you,
- 6:52[SPEAKER_01]: As Brown's fans, we've experienced the decades of disappointment from this team, the Owen's 16, the one in 15, the three win seasons, all that kind of stuff.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_01]: But these players are, they're not, they're not scarred by that like we are, they're not ingrained in that like we are, they want to win, they want to go out and play freaking football and you can feel that yesterday the Brown's had their media day, if you watched
- 7:22[SPEAKER_01]: you know that the brown social media team put out there and I know obviously you're supposed to act hyped up for these media sessions everything it's the it's the videos they're going to play on the jumbo tron on the scoreboard in the game when you make a touchdown or a big hit or a sack or whatever.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_01]: but it just feels different.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if that's just me being like in Brown's fan optimist mode right now, but I just feel like these guys are bringing a different mentality, a different leadership, and this goes back to the Cleveland for Christ event.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_01]: It's just a, it's a youth movement, and all of these guys have embodied leadership roles, whether it's, obviously, not every single player can be the leader on the team.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_01]: That's just, that's impossible.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_01]: You can't do that.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_01]: But all of them seem to take leadership over themselves.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's the key.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_01]: Accountability,
- 8:16[SPEAKER_01]: You may not be a leader of the entire team and may not be a guy that the entire team looks to as a leader, but you can always be a leader over yourself and a lot of times you get players that unfortunately just don't have that.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_01]: They don't lead themselves.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_01]: They don't really care.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_01]: They don't practice hard.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_01]: They're not all that concerned about their performance.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_01]: It's a paycheck type thing.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, man.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_01]: This team feels like they've got a lot of individual leaders over self
- 8:48[SPEAKER_01]: I'm excited about that.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_01]: I am very excited to see what comes of this team.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not sitting here telling anybody that it's going to be a, you know, 10 win season, but I don't think anybody out there talking about this being a O and 17 roster in this team sucks and just the people that love to crap on the Browns because it's kind of the cool thing to do, I guess, for some reason, I think you're way off base, way off base.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_01]: and speaking of, you know, browns that embody that leadership mentality, set the tone on Sundays, Joel Betonio just announces retirement today.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_01]: So after months of speculation, whether or not Betonio was going to retire or go sign and free agency with another team, he decided to retire.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_01]: And this has obviously been a long time coming.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_01]: I haven't even read his entire letter to Cleveland yet that the Browns posted because it's long.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_01]: He's probably been writing it for the last three months or however long it's been.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_01]: But that is a wrap on a career that honestly,
- 9:55[SPEAKER_01]: It was a Hall of Fame career and just give me a second guys and try and pull up some more notes here.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_01]: But 12 seasons that Joel Betonio played with the Cleveland Browns.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_01]: And I think we need to take a step back for just a minute and just admire that number in and of itself 12 seasons.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_01]: I don't remember the exact statistic, but I believe the average NFL career is something like two and a half or maybe it's three and a half years or something like that.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_01]: Just collectively, the aggregate of all players who come to the NFL, the average career is gone in a blank.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_01]: Most players don't even make it through their rookie deals with teams.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_01]: 12 seasons, a decade plus two for Joel Betonio.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_01]: And I do believe it was a Hall of Fame career.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_01]: I don't, I'm not saying first ballot, like Joe Thomas or anything like that, but Joel Betonio will have his bust in Canton.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have any doubts about that.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_01]: If we want to kind of look back real quick on the career because I went through found some numbers and some information about this to put out a short video after the announcement.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_01]: And honestly, the numbers were,
- 11:01[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't realize how impressive it was.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_01]: So the Browns drafted Joel Batonio in the 2014 draft.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_01]: They took him in the second round, 35th overall.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_01]: So that was what the third pick in the second round.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_01]: So a pretty highly drafted pick.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_01]: I believe he was the top rated tackle.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_01]: Is that what I read?
- 11:19[SPEAKER_01]: Let me go over here and look at this real quick.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_01]: So it said he was the, okay, one of the top offensive tackle prospects in the 2014 draft.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_01]: and like we, you know, we talked about a lot of these prospects this year in the draft.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_01]: Didn't play tackle in the NFL ended up moving to guard and like I just said had a whole of fame career at the left guard spot.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_01]: I know he played, I think he played a little left tackle sometimes when we were in a pinch over the years, but primarily held down that left tackle spot over his career.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_01]: From day one, Joe Betonio was a stalwart of the Brown's offensive line.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_01]: Over his career, 12 seasons, so you had, I think it was seven seasons when we were at the 16 game schedule, and then five seasons at the 17 game schedule came out to plus the three playoff games.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_01]: 200 possible career games that Jol Betonio could have played for the Browns, and he played in 181 of them.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_01]: That means he missed just 19 total games in 12 seasons,
- 12:28[SPEAKER_01]: because 2014, I would, I was just, I just graduated college and was a couple of years into my marketing career at that point.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_01]: So this has been a long time for me since the Browns draft of Joel Betonio, 17 of those 19 missed games happened during Betonio's second and third seasons.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_01]: So back, what would that have been?
- 12:48[SPEAKER_01]: 2014, 2016, 2017, I think, or 2015, 2016.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_01]: Excuse me, guys, get ahead of myself.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_01]: The Doona's only miss like two games since then.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_01]: That's insane.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_01]: That is absolutely absurd.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_01]: 11,847 career snaps played on the line.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_01]: And then you add in another 590 career snaps on special teams.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_01]: That comes out to a grand career total, 12,437 snaps played.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_01]: for Joel Michael Bittonio with the Cleveland Browns.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_01]: He was a five-time all-pro.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_01]: He got two all-pro's with the first team, three all-pro's with the second team, named to the Pro Bowl seven times.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_01]: He was also named to the PFWA all rookie team in 2014.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_01]: That is a whole of fame career.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_01]: We were blessed to witness that career in Cleveland.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_01]: So again, congratulations, Joel Betonio.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for the memories.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for your outstanding play across the offensive line for the Cleveland Browns.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_01]: It has not been pretty, I know in his, I was kind of skim reading through the goodbye note, and well goodbye letter goodbye novel that he wrote.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not, I'm not cracking fun at him, I'm sure he worked really hard on that and I will read the whole thing.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_01]: But in there, he talked about how, yes, over his career, he did have aspirations to obviously play in and win a super boy.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_01]: I think all of these guys have that on their bucket list in the NFL, but
- 14:24[SPEAKER_01]: He did say, one of his main goal was to begin an end his career in Cleveland, to retire at Cleveland Brown, and he felt like the job was successfully finished.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_01]: And I do too, I think that you can't ask for more from a guy than what Joel Patonio brought to the Browns.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_01]: It is the end of an era for the Browns.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, you've got a couple long standing vets left on this team.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_01]: Primarily, Denzel Ward, who still left over from that 2018 draft.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_01]: I know Grant Delpit is kind of lumped in there.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_01]: But I think that's more because he is a veteran who could garner trade interest near the deadline and everything this season, depending on how the season's going and if the Browns are going to give him another extension.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_01]: But he is on the final year of his deal.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_01]: But he was drafted in 20, he was a 21.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_01]: I think 20, something like that.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_01]: So early on in the Andrew Barry 10 year, but still in Andrew Barry regime player in Grant Delpit.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_01]: So the only guy left who was not is Denzel Ward.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_01]: Other than that, these guys are all gone now.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_01]: it's it's tough when you have players on the team that have been there for this long obviously which is we just lose miles Garrett last week played here for nine years to almost a decade Joe Betonio just retires today so a week later after the miles Garrett thing we I mean we weren't expecting Joe Betonio to be back any house so it's not like the same blow that it was losing miles
- 15:56[SPEAKER_01]: as an active player of the team, but still at over a decade, we had Batonio, we could always count on him, we could always count on miles, we could always count on chief, for the most part, obviously, obviously.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_01]: Chief missed quite a few games here and there and wasn't always the most reliable player on the field, but still.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_01]: as a pound of table for Cleveland type of guy, a fan favorite, yeah, we lost the consistency for chief on that.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_01]: Just, you know, for longer time, Browns fans, it is.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_01]: It's a turning of the page, an end of an era, but this next chapter we seem to be walking into with this Browns roster, I'm excited about.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_01]: I'm excited about what the Browns have done and who they're bringing in here.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_01]: to usher in this next era of Cleveland Browns football.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_01]: So that's the scoop this morning on Joel Betonio, the big news from yesterday though.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_01]: Let's talk about this real quick, you guys.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_01]: And I want you to comment along here as we go, give me your thoughts and everything because this Brendan Sour's best situation is.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_01]: outrageous.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_01]: It's insane.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_01]: I really can't think of anything I've seen like this and maybe I'm forgetting something or whatever.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_01]: Just let me know what you guys think in the comments.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_01]: Before I go into the Brennan source, be situation though.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_01]: Make sure you guys head over to join the dogs.com.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_01]: If you want to play fantasy football with us, I had a member, a dog-pack member over the week and say, hey, you know, you said the leagues are filling up already.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_01]: I haven't even gotten an invite to a league.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what to do if I missed out.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, no, no.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_01]: I misspoke last week when I said leagues are filling up what I meant was registrations are coming in hot and heavy.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_01]: We have enough registrations to already fill up five leagues.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, leagues will not be created for the dog pack fantasy season until later this summer.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_01]: I got to get all the registrations in and coordinate with everybody and organize the leagues.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_01]: So that all has yet to be done.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_01]: Right now the only thing we're doing.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_01]: is submitting registrations just so that your name is in the list on the list to be put into a league.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_01]: So that's where we're at right now.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_01]: So get in now guys, get your registration in because again, by the time we get through July and into August, we're going to be really
- 18:16[SPEAKER_01]: cutting down on when registrations can come in because I need to start organizing leagues especially if we're going to be pushing for 10 or more leagues this season, I'm going to need to start divvying them up, putting people into leagues early, probably starting in July, honestly.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_01]: So get in now and make just make sure you get your registration in.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_01]: That's the big thing.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_01]: And then the only stipulation for the fantasy leagues, you just got to be a member of the dog pack.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_01]: All season long, you can't join submitted registration, getting to a league and then bail.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_01]: You got to be a member of the dog packet.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_01]: It is a dog pack, fantasy, league.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_01]: So in fairness to everybody, you got to stay in the dog pack.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_01]: So, and it's a great, honestly, the dog pack.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_01]: It's a great way to support the show over on Patreon is where it all happens over there.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's $5 a month.
- 19:03[SPEAKER_01]: So basically, like I keep settling people, you're donating a cup of coffee to our show once a month.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_01]: And collectively, you guys help keep this engine running.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_01]: For the podcast, we couldn't do it without our dog pack members.

- 19:41[SPEAKER_01]: All right, Browns Vand, you know, we've all messed around with the sports books before, right?
- 19:45[SPEAKER_01]: And let's be honest, you're always kind of playing into the house.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_01]: But with Kaoshi, it's different.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_01]: You're not betting against some sports book.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_01]: You're trading against other real world people.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_01]: There's no house trying to beat you Kaoshi just runs the marketplace.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_01]: So if you think the public is wrong, like everybody's overreacting to these smoke screens in the draft or sleeping on a prospect, you can literally take the other side of the market.

- 20:09[SPEAKER_01]: You can trade on other real-world stuff, interest rates, inflation, even wild weather outcomes.

- 21:08[SPEAKER_00]: Discover quality and excellence in all things outdoors with Mount Hope fence.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_01]: Brendan Sorsby, so first of all, you don't have to worry about Brendan Sorsby being a topic of conversation for the Browns this summer.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_01]: He won't not be entering the supplemental draft.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_01]: That will not be taking place.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_01]: because even though the NCAA denied Brennan source b's appeal for eligibility in 2026, a judge in Texas has granted a preliminary injunction for Brennan source b to have eligibility and play football for Texas Tech in 2026.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_01]: It's wild.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_01]: Let me bring up some notes here that I had yesterday on this.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_01]: And I've seen, I need you guys in the comments to help me along with this because I'll be the first one to admit, this brand and source be saga.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_01]: I have not been able to follow it.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_01]: The legal side of things the way I would normally follow a situation like this.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_01]: And the reason is just because
- 22:18[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of other stuff going on with the brands that I've been covering and trying to work toward.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_01]: But talk to me guys, what is going on with this?
- 22:27[SPEAKER_01]: Because I keep seeing people alluding to or just outright saying on social media that they bought off this judge to basically get the decision that they wanted for Texas Tech to have this guy who they just spent millions of dollars in the transfer portal to get him into their
- 22:49[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_01]: Is there is there validity to that?
- 22:52[SPEAKER_01]: Again, I need you guys to help me out with that part because I can't understand how this happened.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_01]: All right, before I go down that path, let me just go back a little bit.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_01]: I'm getting a little bit out of myself.
- 23:05[SPEAKER_01]: So this judge, I don't even know his name, whatever, judge in maybe it's a sheet, I have no idea.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's a guy.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_01]: In Texas, ruled that Brenn source be would quote, suffer a probable imminent and irreparable injury if he were ruled ineligible for the season.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_01]: Again, I haven't gone back and like read the all the fine details of the court proceedings and all this stuff, but I imagine that is talking about the NIL money that he would be for fitting compared to if he were to enter the supplemental draft and then get taken to a team with like a third round pick or something like that.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_01]: and if I'm wrong about that again, let me know.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_01]: The ruling says that the NCAA cannot prevent Brennan source be from participating in practice or games or in any way on Texas tax football team in 2020-26.
- 24:10[SPEAKER_01]: So NCAA cannot prevent him from participating this season.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_01]: He's eligible.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_01]: Brennan source be his going to play football in college in 2026.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_01]: I cannot believe it.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_01]: I cannot believe it.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_01]: If I were to bet, which is ironic, because that's what this is all about, but if I were a betting man and I was gonna put money on the outcome of this, I would have said, yeah, no way in hell, Brennan's source would be placed football.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_01]: In college, ever again, after what he did, the only penalty issued to Brennan's source be out of this whole situation and I'll go through it here in a second.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_01]: He's suspended for the first two games of Texas Tech season.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_01]: And I think the first game is like Texas, I don't even Southern Texas community Christian college or something like that.
- 25:00[SPEAKER_01]: It's what, the first game is a throwaway game.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_01]: And then the second one is, it was an Oregon state.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_01]: So Texas Tech won't have Brennan Sores be for the first two games of the season.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_01]: After that, it's full go for this kid.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 25:13[SPEAKER_01]: the situation in Nutshell.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_01]: Brennan Sorsby placed thousands of bets over 9,000 bets.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_01]: over his college career so far.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_01]: He wagered over $90,000, okay?
- 25:30[SPEAKER_01]: It's not like he's placing $5 bets here and there.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_01]: 9,000 bets worth over 90 grand.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_01]: Wow, he was the quarterback at Indiana and Cincinnati and it's already come out and right here.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_01]: He admitted to it or whatever.
- 25:46[SPEAKER_01]: He's already placed bets this year in 2026 since he's been with Texas Tech.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_01]: In the biggest thing, this is all forbidden by the NCAA.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, you cannot place sports bets while you're in the NCAA, but he even placed bets on his own team when he was the quarterback at Indiana.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_01]: Now he was the backup quarterback.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_01]: He said that he always placed bets
- 26:12[SPEAKER_01]: on Indiana to win.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_01]: He never placed bets on them to lose.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_01]: He placed bets on them to win.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_01]: And all this stuff, but still like, dude, you can't do that.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_01]: You cannot place bets on your own team.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_01]: That is absolutely insane.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_01]: There was a couple other notes here that I wanted to find real quick.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, sorry.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_01]: So I wanted to go back here and find my notes from the weekend.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_01]: So
- 26:37[SPEAKER_01]: Sores be admitted to placing at least 2,900 bets that total more than 30 grand.
- 26:43[SPEAKER_01]: Just 30 grand alone, while he was the backup at Indiana, at least 40 of those wagers.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_01]: Probably more.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_01]: War on his own team.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_01]: Now, Sores be again said, never placed bets on games in which he saw any playing time.
- 26:56[SPEAKER_01]: I guess that was the note I wanted to bring up here.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_01]: And I thought that was interesting.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_01]: I read this the other day on the weekend.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe I'm missing something here.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_01]: So he claims he never bet on any games in which he saw any playing time.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_01]: How could you know that with absolute certainty ahead of time?
- 27:14[SPEAKER_01]: That's what was tripping me up about this.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_01]: You're the backup quarterback, and maybe I'm wrong, was he the QB3, when he was in Indiana, and I don't know.
- 27:23[SPEAKER_01]: But if he was the backup quarterback,
- 27:26[SPEAKER_01]: And obviously, to place a bet on a game, you have to do it before the game.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_01]: Can't do it after the game.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_01]: You got to do it before the game.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_01]: How the hell do you know when you're going to see playing time and when you're not?
- 27:37[SPEAKER_01]: How do you know you're not going to come in due to an injury, or like a lopsighted score, or something like, how do you possibly know for certain before a game?
- 27:47[SPEAKER_01]: What's okay to place a bet on this one?
- 27:48[SPEAKER_01]: Because I know I'm not going to play.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_01]: That that sounded like a whole bunch of hokey to me.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_01]: Um, claims that he never wagered on Cincinnati when he was the starter there.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_01]: So obviously he wagered on Indiana when he was the back up, but never when he was the starter at Cincinnati, but this is what's interesting.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 28:08[SPEAKER_01]: He clearly burned his sword to be knew what he was doing as wrong.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_01]: Like he knew he wasn't allowed to do this, but he couldn't stop it anyway.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_01]: Going back, he did say he just completed a 35 day stint at a rehab facility in Arizona.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_01]: He said that his addiction to gambling started when he was in high school and then it just got worse and worse and worse.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_01]: Once he got into college and he just could never shake the addiction.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_01]: around getting caught at the time, at least, to do it.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_01]: So what he would do, he
- 28:49[SPEAKER_01]: and a friend, so he and a friend placed bets on a fan dual count.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_01]: That was registered to his brother-in-law.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_01]: So, Brennan Sorsby would transfer large funds, large sums of money, into his brother-in-law's accounts on fan dual and then placed, so he didn't need to operate under his own name, because if you do any sports betting, if you have a fan dual draft king's whatever account, you got to link your name, your birthday, your social security number, tax information,
- 29:18[SPEAKER_01]: It's like it's serious.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_01]: It's it's it's money like you can't that if you don't do it the right way it's fraud which you guys I guess I just how is this not a fraud case but whatever um does that not seem like fraud do you guys not just it's just kind of hitting me I kind of wish I was doing like a live right now so I could interact with you guys in the chat comment with me here's is this not fraud so he's he's putting
- 29:46[SPEAKER_01]: placing bets on someone else's account to make money, that he obviously is then transferring, I don't know, this all seems very illegal.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_01]: And then when he was at Texas Tech already this year, he placed bets on different accounts that belonged to two of his friends.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_01]: So he's, it's not just one time, like he had his brother in law as the county's got these other friends who have accounts.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_01]: And he's doing all of his sports betting and waging, waging under other people's names.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_01]: So, note denying that he know what he was doing was wrong, continue to find ways to do it, says that he is obviously like, learned from it, and now he wants to use his experience to help others in the same situation, yada yada yada.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_01]: I guess the big thing here, like the NCAA is pissed about this.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_01]: They are big time mad.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_01]: They fired back that, you know, by allowing source me to continue playing sets a very and I agree, a very shaky precedent for the integrity of college sports, not just football, but college sports as a whole, moving forward because if one guy can get away with doing this,
- 30:56[SPEAKER_01]: you just appeal appeal until you find a judge that will rule in your favor.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_01]: Let's just stop the next guy from doing it or gal in any of these college sports.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_01]: So I expect NCAA is going to continue to appeal back.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to fight this because you can't you can't set a precedent where
- 31:20[SPEAKER_01]: bedding on your own team, bedding while you're in the program while you're in and the NCAA, this is a very slippery slope and this could be the beginning at the end of college football, college sports as we note, because there's already a large faction, a large group of people out there.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_01]: And maybe you're one of them.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_01]: And if you are, that's, I'm not saying you're crazy.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of
- 31:50[SPEAKER_01]: because of all the gambling, the betting, I mean, every NFL game you watch has a pre game, you know, segment on Fox or CBS or whatever, network you're watching on NFL network, they got segment sponsored by draft candidates, put together our three leg partly for the day, you know, and then they turn around, but they look at their players and say, but don't you guys do it?
- 32:15[SPEAKER_01]: That's going to, that'll, you know, hurt the integrity of the game, but all you folks in the home out there, let's start betting, you know, and it's, it's kind of why I would how driven all sports is being right now, everything that, you mean, you can't, you can't look at a field, you can't look at a basketball court without seeing draft King sports book, just everywhere, so,
- 32:39[SPEAKER_01]: It is wild.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_01]: And I think sports in general has put themselves in a, you know, you guys wanted to walk a fine line with the sports betting stuff.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you know, we were all concerned about that when it started happening.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_01]: And here we go.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_01]: This, this is going to be a, this is going to be a big one.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be a big guy.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_01]: I saw this news, Pete the Mell.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's how you say his name on X posted big 10 officials are expected to discuss in the upcoming days a league wide mandate to not play Texas tech in any sports per three big 10 sources.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_01]: And this is in the wake of Nebraska athletic director Troy Danon informing his staff that they are not
- 33:29[SPEAKER_01]: So Texas tech getting kind of blackballed here, just because of Brendan Sorsby being on their football team.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_01]: So it's almost like the rest of the NCAA teams are saying, okay.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_01]: If the NCAA can't police this, then we're just going to take it upon ourselves and issue some sort of try to punish indirectly, Texas tech for it's, it's wild.
- 33:56[SPEAKER_01]: It's wild because all of this obviously happened while he was at Indiana.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_01]: Since 90, there was rumors, allegations.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how serious I just saw them posted that.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe Cincinnati knew about this while he was there and didn't report it or do anything about it.
- 34:14[SPEAKER_01]: Again, I'm not saying that's true.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_01]: I'm saying that's what I heard.
- 34:19[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously he kept betting while he was at Texas Tech already, like crazy.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_01]: So that's my
- 34:30[SPEAKER_01]: Depth of understanding on the brand and source be thing.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_01]: I think honestly, I wish I could have Blake on here to talk about this because I feel like Blake would have a deeper understanding and a more hot, take-y stuff probably to give you guys.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_01]: Then what I just did, but let me know what you guys think in the comments, maybe I'll incorporate some of your information comments, feedback, and all that kind of stuff into the next episode.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_01]: But I guess it'll make the 2027 quarter-back draft class much more interesting because brand and source be will
- 34:59[SPEAKER_01]: Projected Lee be part of that class now instead of the supplemental draft this summer I don't know man like I I bet the point with this where I just I don't want to think do with them I don't know about you guys like I mean I saw Ken Carmen on 92-3 the fan today talking about how this kid is now going to be like the biggest villain and college sports He's gonna get booed in every stadium.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_01]: He sets foot in
- 35:27[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm sitting there thinking, we've already got a guy like that.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_01]: We've already got a guy that gets booed in every stadium, including our own.
- 35:33[SPEAKER_01]: I don't need another villain at quarterback.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_01]: I want somebody I can freaking root for and feel good about it.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm good.
- 35:43[SPEAKER_01]: I'm good on Brendan's SourceB.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think we need to go down that route.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_01]: Let me know what you guys think, but...
- 35:48[SPEAKER_01]: just wanted to bring that up.
- 35:50[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, this is an ever-developing situation and story.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll keep touching on it as we go through the summer and into the season and everything.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_01]: But it's going to be one to watch because again, this is a case that the NCAA cannot lose.
- 36:06[SPEAKER_01]: if they want to maintain any sort of authority in policing gambling and sports betting in this type of situation moving forward because if they lose this completely it's really nothing they're going to be able to do and that could really hurt the integrity of the sport of all the college football sport or all college sports moving forward.

- 38:56[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so kind of focus back in here on specific Cleveland Browns news information updates.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_01]: Like I said, the top of the show mandatory minicamp kicks off today.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_01]: The big name that I really want to watch for today and and when I've talked about him and mentioned him in the last two weeks when I have a detailed OTA reports from all the beat guys that have been at the practice sessions, Harold Fan and Jr.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, what is going on with Harold Fan and Jr.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_01]: He has not been on the field practicing at all during OTAs.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_01]: Talks about it.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_01]: There's a list every week that I get that I put together of guys who were at OTAs, but not on the field practicing, Harold Fanon Jr. has been on that list every week.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_01]: If you go back, rewind to the voluntary, veteran minicamp prior to the draft in April.
- 39:48[SPEAKER_01]: Harold Fan Jr. was on the field practicing during that session.
- 39:52[SPEAKER_01]: This is why the injury concerned for Harold Fan and like I'm not saying this is anything we need to be worried about, but it's not worthy.
- 40:02[SPEAKER_01]: So.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_01]: If you go back and you remember, week 17 against the Steelers, Harold Fanon Jr. left the game early after he scored the touchdown and I think it was like the first quarter that he scored that touchdown from Shoulder, I can't remember, first second quarter.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_01]: He didn't end up finishing that game because he aggravated a growing injury.
- 40:24[SPEAKER_01]: Now he didn't sustain the growing injury from what I remember during that game.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_01]: it happened in a previous game or practice or something.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_01]: And he'd been dealing with the growing injury.
- 40:33[SPEAKER_01]: I think he'd been on and off the injury report as a questionable limited participant.
- 40:38[SPEAKER_01]: What have you ends up playing in that game in week 17, leaves a game early, and then he misses the week 18 for now, and since then, that he didn't really think much of it all off season.
- 40:53[SPEAKER_01]: OK, so we ended the season with a growing injury, that time off and everything should be fine to go.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_01]: The voluntary mini-camp comes up, he's on the field practicing, all it looks well, but now we're at OTAs, and he hasn't practiced at all.
- 41:07[SPEAKER_01]: It's a little bit concerning whenever you have a guy who got hurt, then did practice, and now is not practicing.
- 41:13[SPEAKER_01]: What happened to that injury?
- 41:14[SPEAKER_01]: Now, obviously we don't get any sort of detailed information about injuries from the team right now.
- 41:22[SPEAKER_01]: They're not required to disclose any of that information.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_01]: That's an in-season requirement when they have to report what injuries the players dealing with and all that, but right now.
- 41:35[SPEAKER_01]: We're just left to speculation.
- 41:37[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm hoping it was just a small re-aggravation of that growing injury.
- 41:43[SPEAKER_01]: And they're just holding them out of OTAs as a precaution.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_01]: And I would expect he's not going to practice this week at mandatory mini-camp, maybe I'm wrong, maybe he'll be out there today tomorrow.
- 41:53[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see what the media is reporting when they're there.
- 41:57[SPEAKER_01]: But I would imagine we're not going to get any more information on this injury thing for Harold Fanon until a training camp.
- 42:03[SPEAKER_01]: So that's, I'll save like my very serious worry and concerns about this until training camp opens up and we see whether or not he's on the field then, but it's just something to take note of because this offense, I'm excited.
- 42:20[SPEAKER_01]: I don't, I don't want to show your code anything for you guys.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_01]: I'm excited for this offense.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_01]: I'm excited to see what Todd Monk can do because I had zero faith in Kevin's defense
- 42:32[SPEAKER_01]: I want to see what a new offensive system can look like.
- 42:34[SPEAKER_01]: I want to see what should doorstanders can look like in year two.
- 42:37[SPEAKER_01]: I don't care about the Sean Watson.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_01]: I want to see what Quinn Sean Judkins looks like in year two.
- 42:42[SPEAKER_01]: He looks freaking healthy and explosive.
- 42:44[SPEAKER_01]: I want to see if we can find ways to actually get Dylan Samson involved on a consistent basis because I think he can be a stud, Casey Concepts, you know, Denzel Boston.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_01]: I want to see what Isaiah Bond can do in year two.
- 42:58[SPEAKER_01]: I'm excited for this offense.
- 43:02[SPEAKER_01]: I will be much less excited if Harold Fanon Jr.'s is not a part of it.
- 43:08[SPEAKER_01]: We need him.
- 43:09[SPEAKER_01]: So we need him healthy, so I'm keeping my eye on this situation and paying close attention to the availability, the participation, and just the overall health status of the Browns leading receiver from last year, leading receiver as a rookie, as a rookie tightend.
- 43:29[SPEAKER_01]: And the third round, that doesn't happen very often.
- 43:34[SPEAKER_01]: So good for Harold Fanon Jr. from last year.
- 43:37[SPEAKER_01]: We need him this year.
- 43:38[SPEAKER_01]: I'm excited to watch him play.
- 43:40[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, got his jersey number here on the wall behind me because I love this kid.
- 43:45[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_01]: What else do I want to talk about?
- 43:49[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, okay.
- 43:49[SPEAKER_01]: I think maybe we'll kind of wrap up with this.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_01]: I mentioned like OTA riders and followers.
- 43:55[SPEAKER_01]: I've been doing this kind of like some short real clips on TikTok and stuff about the riders and followers.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_01]: But I think if you go back and you watch the reports that I did each week after the media sessions at OTA, you can kind of get a good idea of who the riders and followers are.
- 44:10[SPEAKER_01]: I don't need to go too much into that.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_01]: We'll probably do a more riser and follow our type episode
- 44:18[SPEAKER_01]: before training camp.
- 44:19[SPEAKER_01]: But for now, I just want to end today's show with a prediction.
- 44:25[SPEAKER_01]: And obviously, it's been the most heavily debated topic all off season.
- 44:31[SPEAKER_01]: Brown's QB1, this quarterback competition that we are having, will Todd Munkin name a starter this week.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_01]: I saw Tony Grossy, I was either yesterday or this morning on ESPN Cleveland, and I think his quote was something like, he expects Todd Munkin to, now you got it.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_01]: take it with a grain of salt.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_01]: He didn't necessarily say name a week one starter, okay?
- 45:01[SPEAKER_01]: So Tony Grocery is not saying Todd Munkin's gonna name his week one starter right now in the second week of June.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_01]: I think that would be stupid.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think that's gonna happen by the way.
- 45:12[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think there's any chance that happens.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_01]: You're not getting a week one starter named right now.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_01]: If Todd Munk and named the week one starter right now, second week of June, I would start questioning his validity as a head coach.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_01]: I would, because I think that that's a very irresponsible move to make.
- 45:30[SPEAKER_01]: So what Tony Grossy was essentially saying is at the end of this week, he thinks Todd Munk and is going to at least name his initial depth chart.
- 45:41[SPEAKER_01]: for training camp, meaning there will be a defined QB1 and a defined QB2 for training camp.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_01]: Not necessarily the week one starter, but just your training camp, depth chart.
- 45:52[SPEAKER_01]: Now, my prediction, I don't think it's gonna happen.
- 45:58[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think we're going to get an official formal Todd Munkin said,
- 46:06[SPEAKER_01]: This player's QB1 going into training camp and this player's QB2.
- 46:10[SPEAKER_01]: The quarterback competition will continue in training camp, but at least for the start, this is the order.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think we're getting that this week.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_01]: Now, could we get something like that between now and training camp?
- 46:23[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe, I guess.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think it's gonna happen.
- 46:28[SPEAKER_01]: I could be wrong.
- 46:29[SPEAKER_01]: This is one of those times where I'm just putting something out there.
- 46:33[SPEAKER_01]: And I could, you know, and the idiots on social media, I, first of all, don't ever do this, guys.
- 46:40[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 46:40[SPEAKER_01]: Don't ever go back to somebody's video from like three months ago or a year ago, or anytime in the past and say, well, this didn't age well.
- 46:51[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 46:52[SPEAKER_01]: Great.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_01]: Good job.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_01]: It's like going back to a weatherman who said, well, it's going to rain that, you know, this after
- 47:03[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, great, good for you.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_01]: Cudos on being able to go back and see that something didn't happen.
- 47:13[SPEAKER_01]: Whatever.
- 47:13[SPEAKER_01]: Don't be that person.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_01]: Don't be that person.
- 47:17[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm just going to put this out there now though.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think Todd Munkin is going to name a QB1, QB2, a starter, anything like that this week.
- 47:26[SPEAKER_01]: And here's why.
- 47:27[SPEAKER_01]: Last week, first of all, let's just go back and time back in time.
- 47:33[SPEAKER_01]: instance when Todd Munkin is asked about the quarterback competition, he gives zero indication that there is a leader.
- 47:41[SPEAKER_01]: In fact, he constantly tells you, and the media, that there is not a leader.
- 47:46[SPEAKER_01]: We don't have anybody who's leading right now.
- 47:48[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody has an advantage.
- 47:51[SPEAKER_01]: And I know some of you caught this from earlier and you say, Josh, you said, you told us earlier, actions over words, actions over words, quit telling us about his words.
- 47:59[SPEAKER_01]: I hear you, I hear you.
- 48:02[SPEAKER_01]: Well, let's talk about his words real quick.
- 48:04[SPEAKER_01]: So he has constantly said and told the media, I don't have a starter, I don't have a leader, yada yada yada, last week when pressed about this.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_01]: Todd Munkin said that he would like, or how did he put it?
- 48:19[SPEAKER_01]: Initially, he said he would have, he would like to have a starter named or determine a head of training camp.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_01]: But last week he said, I don't think that's going to happen or I don't know if that's going to happen.
- 48:34[SPEAKER_01]: And he said, you know, each day, I seem to be leaning one way or the other.
- 48:41[SPEAKER_01]: Here's what I'll say about the quarterback competition as a whole.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not just, I know there's people out there who'll say, well, you just want Shador Sanders to be the starter, so you're biased.
- 48:51[SPEAKER_01]: I'm trying not to be guys.
- 48:53[SPEAKER_01]: I need you to understand that.
- 48:54[SPEAKER_01]: I'm trying to give this a fair evaluation myself.
- 49:01[SPEAKER_01]: If you go back and you look at the reports from OTAs, especially last week, I know for certain last week.
- 49:06[SPEAKER_01]: The first two weeks, I'd have to go back and double check.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_01]: I am pretty sure Shador Sanders took first team reps.
- 49:15[SPEAKER_01]: for the majority of the team drills each week.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_01]: And the coaching staff, Monk and will always tell you or tell the media, we're rotating the reps, we're switching up the reps.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_01]: It's not always the same, you know, we're splitting them up.
- 49:35[SPEAKER_01]: But this is where the actions come in.
- 49:37[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm pretty sure if I go back and I read, like Daniel O' of you see Zack Jackson, the QV Stat tracker.
- 49:45[SPEAKER_01]: I'm pretty sure Shidorah Sanders took either, either he was always the first quarter back up in 11 on 11's and or took the majority of 11 on 11 reps with the first team.
- 49:59[SPEAKER_01]: To me that,
- 50:01[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like there's, I feel like Munkin is leaning toward Shador.
- 50:06[SPEAKER_01]: I guess is what I'm trying to get out here.
- 50:08[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't think that's the wrong move, obviously.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_01]: You guys know that I am not a believer anymore in the talent or abilities of Deshawn Watson.
- 50:20[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think that he can play football anymore.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_01]: And I need to see what Shidorah Sanders has.
- 50:26[SPEAKER_01]: I need to see what he can do this season.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_01]: Before I'm willing to throw everything I have into the 2027 quarterback class and say, I need a guy out of that class.
- 50:37[SPEAKER_01]: I got to see what Shidorah Sanders can do first because I have no way close the book on him yet.
- 50:43[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not saying he's gonna be the guy, but I'm not saying he's not.
- 50:47[SPEAKER_01]: I wanna see if he can be.
- 50:48[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's a very fair thing to say.
- 50:53[SPEAKER_01]: The other thing to keep in mind too, if you, if you guys are watching the highlight clips and stuff posted on X from like the Browns account, yeah, we've seen some nice touchdown passes and nice plays, nice throws from Deshan.
- 51:11[SPEAKER_01]: on TikTok's a little different story.
- 51:13[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know where these videos or why they're, I'm not seeing them on X, maybe they're on X, maybe people are sharing them.
- 51:19[SPEAKER_01]: I haven't seen them.
- 51:20[SPEAKER_01]: I've seen them on TikTok.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_01]: And there's a, there's longer compilation videos from people at Browns practices, OTA practices of Dishon Watson.
- 51:33[SPEAKER_01]: Guys, he looks really bad.
- 51:35[SPEAKER_01]: He looks really bad.
- 51:38[SPEAKER_01]: Go search, and I don't even search form, they just come up through my feed because, obviously, it's calibrated to me.
- 51:45[SPEAKER_01]: Go search for, like, to Sean Watson, OTA videos, or something like that.
- 51:49[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not just the highlight video of one pass at him down the field of Denzel Boston, or one pass down across the middle to Jerry Judy.
- 51:59[SPEAKER_01]: There are compilation videos.
- 52:02[SPEAKER_01]: I'm talking not just one video.
- 52:04[SPEAKER_01]: Multiple videos from multiple different practices.
- 52:07[SPEAKER_01]: Of Deshawn Watson throwing the football.
- 52:11[SPEAKER_01]: very badly.
- 52:13[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, if you guys remember how bad he looked in 2024 or 2022 when he first came back and was super rusty, remember how bad he looked?
- 52:24[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I've seen on some of these compilation.
- 52:26[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I'm talking throwing passes into double coverage behind receivers, straight
- 52:40[SPEAKER_01]: stuff that looks like you, that's that's what I remember seeing in 2024.
- 52:46[SPEAKER_01]: That's not the stuff that is being highlighted and promoted on X.
- 52:50[SPEAKER_01]: So if you're not seeing the compilation that go search for them on TikTok, I'm telling you guys, I'm not making this up and I'm not saying it just because I don't believe in them.
- 53:03[SPEAKER_01]: This goes into why I don't believe in him because I'm seeing these videos.
- 53:07[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, holy crap, this guy still doesn't look like he can play football.
- 53:14[SPEAKER_01]: And the other thing, the Browns media day, the, so obviously their social media team is posting, you know, the media day clips of Casey Concepcion, catching a pass, Quincy on Juckins, running the ball, Jared verse coming in first sack, hyping up the crowd, you know, Chador Sanders doing the watch celebration,
- 53:38[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, I guarantee I'm not going to see a video from the Cleveland Browns media account, social media account, showing to Sean Watson that media day.
- 53:48[SPEAKER_01]: And of course, there was none.
- 53:50[SPEAKER_01]: Now, if you go and look at their, uh, their photo gallery on their website for media day, there's a handful of pictures of Deshawn Watson from the media day, but they're not going to promote him on social media.
- 54:03[SPEAKER_01]: And I wanted to talk about that just briefly here, and I want to talk about the market ability of NFL players, primarily your quarterback, because I cannot think.
- 54:14[SPEAKER_01]: of another, and we'll say potential, starting quarterback in the NFL, who is negatively marketable.
- 54:27[SPEAKER_01]: I can think of some guys who are maybe close to zero percent marketable, like they just don't have any appeal to market them a whole lot to your fan base or to the NFL in general.
- 54:38[SPEAKER_01]: But I can't think of another quarterback who if you use him in any of your marketing materials will end up being a negative for your team.
- 54:48[SPEAKER_01]: That is the browns have themselves in a horrible situation with this guy.
- 54:55[SPEAKER_01]: Ugh, they just, like they can't even put a, even if he was the starting quarterback this year, they can't have the banner, like Justin said, they took the banner down off the stadium.
- 55:05[SPEAKER_01]: Every NFL stadium is going to have it, you know, they have the banners of the players outside the stadium and all that.
- 55:11[SPEAKER_01]: They put their, their most prominent, their fan favorites, their best players out there.
- 55:15[SPEAKER_01]: You're always going to feature your starting quarterback.
- 55:18[SPEAKER_01]: And on one of those banners, the Browns can't do that with Deshawn Watson.
- 55:22[SPEAKER_01]: They already took
- 55:24[SPEAKER_01]: it's wild, that we're even having this conversation right now.
- 55:28[SPEAKER_01]: But I think the whole situation is going to sort itself out.
- 55:32[SPEAKER_01]: That's my prediction, but I do not think Todd Munkin is going to be coming out this week and saying either guy is going to be the starter open training camp again.
- 55:41[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe I'm wrong and I'm sure people will come back and say, oh, you were rolling this age, whatever.
- 55:46[SPEAKER_01]: This age, like milk.
- 55:49[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, whatever.
- 55:50[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you get on here and make a bold statement then I guess, but
- 55:54[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not I don't think there's really anything else I want to dive into here today.
- 55:57[SPEAKER_01]: I will have another episode later this week.
- 55:59[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to be talking about some of the information and news notes that come out of this mandatory mini camp.
- 56:04[SPEAKER_01]: We've got the bowling event on Saturday.
- 56:07[SPEAKER_01]: I'll be there with Kenny Mac, Angel Ortiz from the Bearded Browns is going to join us.
- 56:11[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to live stream at least that's the plan I tell you guys.
- 56:16[SPEAKER_01]: Always bear with me on these onsite plans because you never know what technical issues you're going to run into with the plan is to live stream for a few hours from the bowling with the pros event on Saturday.
- 56:28[SPEAKER_01]: That's this coming Saturday, June 13th, that whole of theme lanes in Canton, Ohio.
- 56:32[SPEAKER_01]: So if you're local or you're within driving distance to get to Canton, you guys want to come.
- 56:38[SPEAKER_01]: I believe if you want to bowl at the event,
- 56:41[SPEAKER_01]: It's $50 to bowl, and then if you just want to tick it to come to the event and coming in the door to hang out and meet the Browns players and watch everybody bowl, I think those tickets are $20.
- 56:52[SPEAKER_01]: And then if you want a full autograph package, and there's like 15 different Browns alum going to be there, the headliner, of course, I've played the video on social media, the other day, Bernie CoSars going to be there, so make sure you guys come check that up with a full autograph package.
- 57:07[SPEAKER_01]: I believe it's $200.
- 57:09[SPEAKER_01]: So just come check it out.
- 57:10[SPEAKER_01]: And if you can't make it tune into our live stream on Saturday, hopefully we'll get burning to sit down with us.
- 57:16[SPEAKER_01]: We'll have a couple of the other alumni come join the show, talk about the upcoming season, talk about this current Brown team will pick their brain, get some stories from them from their playing days.
- 57:26[SPEAKER_01]: We did this last year at this event.
