- 0:02Speaker 1: This is a Bramble Jam podcast. Welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark,

- 0:26Speaker 1: Hallmark fan. I'm Wendy. I'm a former Hallmark hater. On
- 0:29Speaker 1: today's episode, what I'm anticipating is going to be a
- 0:32Speaker 1: mini episode, but every time I say that proved wrong.
- 0:36Speaker 1: We are going to do our first impressions of the
- 0:39Speaker 1: movies and series coming to Hallmark Channel in January twenty
- 0:42Speaker 1: twenty six. Before we jump into that, a quick reminder

- 1:12Speaker 1: you to find a better deal on Patreon than that.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Hey, if you want to participate in our best of
- 1:21Speaker 2: Hallmark Christmas Movies bracket, you need to be following us
- 1:24Speaker 2: on Instagram at Girls Gone Hallmark because it's currently happening

- 1:33Speaker 2: So get on over to Instagram where you will just
- 1:36Speaker 2: vote inside the Instagram Stories app.
- 1:39Speaker 1: It's super easy and fun. Go over there. It's all
- 1:41Speaker 1: easy to understand. We for January have five new movies,
- 1:45Speaker 1: we have a series, and we have a Hallmark Plus
- 1:48Speaker 1: series to discuss. Hallmark is kicking off January with a bang. Okay,
- 1:54Speaker 1: Lost in Paradise. All right, yeah, look, it'sn't know where
- 1:57Speaker 1: you were going. I was like with the.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Bang in the movie or the series or the Hallmark
- 2:02Speaker 2: Plus series, didn't I didn't know where you were headed.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Well, our first movie is Lost in Paradise. It stars
- 2:09Speaker 1: Lacey Shabert and Ian Harding, a pairing I am interested
- 2:14Speaker 1: in seeing.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Well, I'm I'm super in on Ian Harding right now
- 2:18Speaker 2: because I'm watching the show Ripple. Also, if you didn't know,
- 2:21Speaker 2: we are reviewing it. It drops on Wednesdays. So if you've
- 2:24Speaker 2: watched Ripple on Netflix and you're like, I need to
- 2:28Speaker 2: hear somebody's review about it, Hey, it's in our feed.
- 2:31Speaker 2: But Lacey talking about working a lot. Yes, this last
- 2:36Speaker 2: part of the twenty twenty five. Yeah, we didn't hear
- 2:40Speaker 2: much from her earlier this year.
- 2:42Speaker 1: We didn't get it. We didn't get a spring summer
- 2:45Speaker 1: movie from her. We didn't get a lot of stuff
- 2:47Speaker 1: from a lot of people. Although she was doing celebrations. True,
- 2:51Speaker 1: she did two change of celebrations. But she was in
- 2:54Speaker 1: Haul Out the Halloween, then she was in She's making
- 2:56Speaker 1: a list. Now she has Lost in Paradise. I'm sure
- 2:59Speaker 1: she's like, hey, ladies, I've been working. And she had
- 3:02Speaker 1: an unexpected Valentine too with Buckley not ten years so
- 3:06Speaker 1: she had actually quite a big year.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I take that back. I just feel like she's
- 3:11Speaker 2: been busy the later part.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Of the year. Yeah, for sure. And then of course
- 3:15Speaker 1: we have the announcement that she will be in the
- 3:18Speaker 1: Disney Hallmark collaboration in count Under Christmas this year. Do
- 3:22Speaker 1: you want a synopsis for Lost in Paradise? I do.
- 3:25Speaker 2: When the founder of a high end fashion company gets
- 3:28Speaker 2: stranded on a deserted island with a chef, the two
- 3:32Speaker 2: must work together to survive, only to discover something even
- 3:35Speaker 2: more unexpected.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Love. Now, this is a Dustin Reichert directed movie.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Love It.
- 3:44Speaker 1: The Synthetic Cinema team is behind it. Costume designer Keith
- 3:49Speaker 1: Costumes is attached to this movie, so we can be
- 3:52Speaker 1: expecting some l wk's. The writers, we have two rights.
- 4:00Speaker 1: The first is Stephanie Jackson, who wrote Christmas Above the
- 4:04Speaker 1: Clouds as well as Trivia at Saint Nick. Right, So
- 4:08Speaker 1: that makes me excited for this. I think I think
- 4:10Speaker 1: we've got Plus it's shot on location. They were in Fiji.
- 4:15Speaker 1: I think there is a recipe for success here. You
- 4:21Speaker 1: have all players that I'm interested in seeing. January isn't
- 4:27Speaker 1: usually like Boubow fireworks of movies. Yeah, but I will
- 4:32Speaker 1: be firing up the old friendly app for this one.
- 4:36Speaker 1: I'm guessing obviously Ian Hardin is playing the chef and
- 4:40Speaker 1: love interest. Yeah.
- 4:41Speaker 2: The picture I'm looking at right now is Lacy on
- 4:43Speaker 2: a PJ a private jet for those two don't know
- 4:47Speaker 2: what PJ means.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Where are you looking at that picture? On Hallmark Channel
- 4:50Speaker 1: on our website, Oh Girls Gone Hallmark dot com. Megan
- 4:56Speaker 1: wrote the post it's a it's a Hallmark channel in
- 4:59Speaker 1: bed of their Instagram it's a it's a video actually,
- 5:04Speaker 1: now so excited to share with I do want to
- 5:07Speaker 1: say founder of a high end fashion company is the
- 5:10Speaker 1: one thing that gives me pause because if you've listened
- 5:12Speaker 1: to our reviews, you know that we have said it
- 5:15Speaker 1: is hard to do high end fashion on a Hallmark budget.
- 5:18Speaker 1: It doesn't always translate. Now, is there anybody I would
- 5:21Speaker 1: trust with this more than Keith Costumes? There is not.
- 5:24Speaker 1: And this image that Wendy is referencing again, it is
- 5:28Speaker 1: embedded on our website, Girls Gone Hallmark dot com. Lazy
- 5:31Speaker 1: does look good? Yeah? Great? So cautiously optimistic of this one.
- 5:36Speaker 2: She she a designer, she's just the founders, the.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Founder of it. I would imagine she's got to be
- 5:43Speaker 1: a designer if she founded it. She's not like I
- 5:45Speaker 1: like fashion, Come design me stuff. She certainly has to
- 5:48Speaker 1: have a hand in it. Don't you think there are
- 5:49Speaker 1: people who own hair salons and don't cut hair? What
- 5:53Speaker 1: do you think? You are stumped? I have done it.
- 5:59Speaker 1: I'm just curios. How does someone found a fashion company
- 6:02Speaker 1: without actually designing? I don't know they have money? Sure? Sure? Maybe?
- 6:06Speaker 1: Like I don't know anything about anything in terms of
- 6:09Speaker 1: fashion companies and how their structure works, or or or
- 6:16Speaker 1: how movies are made. Guys, I have no idea. I
- 6:18Speaker 1: think it's safe to say, we're not going to be
- 6:20Speaker 1: getting an instructive view on the inner workings of fashion
- 6:24Speaker 1: houses from this movie Lost in Paradise. Yeah, next up,
- 6:28Speaker 1: a Melbourne match.
- 6:29Speaker 2: It's actually a pronounced Melbourne. Oh thank you, only because
- 6:33Speaker 2: I was schooled on TikTok. But there's a girl I
- 6:36Speaker 2: watch who went to play soccer there, and she's an
- 6:40Speaker 2: American and she was schooled on it, and so you know,
- 6:43Speaker 2: it's like the trickle down effect.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Yeah. I feel a little bit embarrassing it that way,
- 6:47Speaker 1: even though it's the right way to say it. It's
- 6:48Speaker 1: a really cute sweater, by the way, my sweater. Yeah thanks.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Let's hear a synopsis for a Melbourne match.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Travel writer Georgie flies to Melbourn for an assignment and
- 6:59Speaker 2: meets Zach, an ex Australian footballer who becomes her tour guide.
- 7:05Speaker 2: As he shows her his city, he also shows her
- 7:08Speaker 2: how to slow down and enjoy life. One hold up,
- 7:11Speaker 2: just a second, let's talk about who's in this movie.
- 7:14Speaker 2: Mallory Jansen and Ryan Core. I don't know who Ryan
- 7:18Speaker 2: Core is. I'm sure you're gonna get into it in
- 7:20Speaker 2: a second. But Mallory Jansen isn't she an Australian.
- 7:23Speaker 1: She is, and she wrote, starred in, and executive produced
- 7:27Speaker 1: this movie set in her hometown of Melbourne, but she
- 7:30Speaker 1: plays an American. She does a good American accent if
- 7:34Speaker 1: she has an Australian accent.
- 7:36Speaker 2: One of the greatest head of hairs, truly hairs, head
- 7:40Speaker 2: of hairs, heads of hair.
- 7:43Speaker 1: Yeah, yah, yeah, yeah, that's it. So in Ryan's upcoming projects,
- 7:47Speaker 1: in addition to a Melbourne Match, is also her Aussy Romance.
- 7:50Speaker 1: You know what's I think the name changed because he's
- 7:53Speaker 1: credited as Zach in both so fun fact, this movie
- 7:55Speaker 1: was originally titled Her Aussy Romance. You're learning it here
- 7:59Speaker 1: with us. Yes, he is an Australian actor. I do believe,
- 8:04Speaker 1: because I don't know a lot of these projects. He's
- 8:07Speaker 1: been in Kangaroo, in Limbo, House of the Dragon, of course,
- 8:11Speaker 1: I know that the Secrets she keeps. Do you know
- 8:14Speaker 1: that series that seems like something you would watch The Commons? No,
- 8:19Speaker 1: all right, he looks real hallmarkified in this photo. Well yeah,
- 8:23Speaker 1: if you click through to his IMDb he's got a real,
- 8:26Speaker 1: real bad boy leather jacket. Did you see my ice perckup? Yeah?
- 8:30Speaker 1: I did. Colin Buds is the director. I'm looking on
- 8:36Speaker 1: IMDb for her Aussi Romance. He's directed Christmas movies like
- 8:39Speaker 1: A Vintage Christmas, Christmas Keepsake, as well as Romance at
- 8:42Speaker 1: the Vineyard. All of those sound like Hallmark adjacent titles.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Do we think this is an acquisition? Not necessarily. I
- 8:49Speaker 1: just think they used Australian crew, got it, and that
- 8:53Speaker 1: seems true to what we're doing here, right, Like, if
- 8:55Speaker 1: she wants to set a movie in her hometown, sure
- 8:57Speaker 1: work with the Australian, work with the people. Yeah, we
- 9:00Speaker 1: have a much more fleshed out IMDb on her Aussy
- 9:04Speaker 1: Romance than we do on a Melbourne mattch That's what
- 9:07Speaker 1: concerns me. I just think they change the name. Wait
- 9:10Speaker 1: a minute, in this movie is Danny Minogue. It's got
- 9:14Speaker 1: to be Kylie's sister, the youngest sister of Kylie Minogue
- 9:19Speaker 1: and brother Brendan Minogue.
- 9:21Speaker 2: I feel a little skeptical, to be honest, Not that
- 9:25Speaker 2: I don't enjoy Mallory Jansen. I like her a lot actually,
- 9:29Speaker 2: so I'll stay open to it. But these sort of
- 9:31Speaker 2: like movies don't do anything for me. Like I have
- 9:35Speaker 2: a hard time getting excited for movies like this. Her
- 9:37Speaker 2: Instagram caption says, coming to your screens, big and Small
- 9:40Speaker 2: and twenty twenty six. Does that mean it's getting a
- 9:42Speaker 2: theatrical release in Australia.
- 9:44Speaker 1: You're asking the wrong person. I have no idea. Or
- 9:46Speaker 1: is that just because everybody has a big, big TV
- 9:50Speaker 1: and a small TV in their hands? Yeah? I don't know. Ah,
- 9:53Speaker 1: that actually makes more sense. Maybe that's it. Up next
- 9:56Speaker 1: on Saturday, January seventeenth, Love on the Amazon.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Gabby travels deep into the Amazon rainforest.
- 10:03Speaker 1: To reach her sister, a researcher.
- 10:05Speaker 2: Living in the region. Along the way, she teams up
- 10:07Speaker 2: with Rider, a rugged riverboat captain who knows the terrain
- 10:12Speaker 2: and may just open her heart. I'm sorry, but a
- 10:14Speaker 2: lot of these movies sound very similar to like Polar
- 10:18Speaker 2: Opposites from early in twenty twenty five. Like they're just
- 10:22Speaker 2: schedule fillers. There's not anything like super unique about them.
- 10:28Speaker 1: They're like, let's set it on the Amazon and we'll
- 10:31Speaker 1: see what happened.
- 10:32Speaker 2: This one stars j c Elliott and Rafael de la Fuente.
- 10:36Speaker 2: J c Elliott has been in a couple of Christmas movies. Yeah,
- 10:39Speaker 2: if I recall Raphael, I'm unfamiliar with.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Rafael de Lafuente is a Venezuelan actor. He's been in
- 10:47Speaker 1: the series Fire Country as well as Dynasty. Oh, he
- 10:52Speaker 1: looks very familiar. I'm looking at his Instagram right now.
- 10:56Speaker 1: He's also in the series Empire on American Horror Story. Well, hello,
- 11:01Speaker 1: he's real cute. He's very cute. Whoa, it's like a
- 11:05Speaker 1: before and after six weeks before and after, like got shredded.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Oh in six weeks and boy did he? What's your
- 11:13Speaker 1: first impression? Is she the one who's studying the pink dolphins? Yeah,
- 11:17Speaker 1: her sister is a marine biologist studying pink dolphins on
- 11:21Speaker 1: the Amazon River. What worries me about that is like
- 11:23Speaker 1: the horrible b roll we're gonna get of the pink
- 11:26Speaker 1: dolphins in the river. I don't know. I mean, like,
- 11:29Speaker 1: these instagram shots look real cool, the shots of filming
- 11:34Speaker 1: on the Amazon. So I'm into that. I think jac
- 11:39Speaker 1: is cute as freaking can be, and Raphael's real handsome.
- 11:43Speaker 2: The director attached to this one is Colnes, who his
- 11:46Speaker 2: IMDb reads like a travel movie resume. Right, we have
- 11:53Speaker 2: a Machu Peachu proposal, polar opposites, a Costa Rican wedding. Look,
- 11:58Speaker 2: he really enjoys Randon fish. She and this a Greek
- 12:02Speaker 2: recipe for romance. Love in the mall deves. I.
- 12:06Speaker 1: So, I mean your fear about it being another polar
- 12:09Speaker 1: opposites is founded. But I guess we're reserving judgment on
- 12:13Speaker 1: this one. Yeah, we'll have to just wait and see. Writer.
- 12:17Speaker 2: I can easily put my foot in my mouth and
- 12:19Speaker 2: I love to eat crow.
- 12:21Speaker 1: So what's next? Saturday, January twenty fourth. Caught by love.
- 12:26Speaker 2: While on a personal journey of self discovery, a resort
- 12:29Speaker 2: guest is pulled into an undercover investigation involving stolen jewels.
- 12:34Speaker 2: What starts as a quiet retreat soon turns into an
- 12:36Speaker 2: adventure and surprising love story. Stars Rachel Lee Cook and
- 12:42Speaker 2: Luke McFarlane, who both just recently we're on the game
- 12:47Speaker 2: show The Weakest Link along with Jonathan Minnet.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Yeah, how was that? Was that fun? It was fun
- 12:51Speaker 1: to watch Melissa hart one? Oh did she Melissa jo
- 12:55Speaker 1: and heart? That's cute. So our writer on this movie
- 12:59Speaker 1: is marsh Holland. Marcy Holland wrote The Christmas Quest, she
- 13:03Speaker 1: wrote My Dreams of You, she wrote a Biltmore Christmas.
- 13:07Speaker 1: She's written some really good ones. I mean some Hannah
- 13:10Speaker 1: Swenson's My Dreams of You jingle Bell Bride, the very
- 13:14Speaker 1: first episode we ever recorded for Girls Gone Hallmark. Well,
- 13:18Speaker 1: I think we're in for a treat with this body
- 13:21Speaker 1: so fun. Fact, did you know that Rachel Lee Cook
- 13:23Speaker 1: is dating fellow Hallmark actor Brandon Routh? No? I did not,
- 13:28Speaker 1: it's new. Apparently they were spotted this summer appearing affectionate
- 13:32Speaker 1: for like the team Z of Hallmark. I know, breaking
- 13:37Speaker 1: six months later. Both are forty five, both have children,
- 13:42Speaker 1: and both are recently divorced for long marriages and known
- 13:45Speaker 1: for acting in Hallmark films. Wow, this is appearing that
- 13:49Speaker 1: I could get behind. Who Rachel Lee Cook and Luke
- 13:53Speaker 1: McFarlane or yeah yea yeah, yeah, yeah yeah and Rachel L.
- 13:55Speaker 1: Cook and Brandon Routh Yeah oh get your second chance love?
- 13:58Speaker 1: Yeah course, but I love Luke McFarlane. Now pretty excited
- 14:02Speaker 1: for the script we see brought to this.
- 14:04Speaker 2: I'm a little bit disappointed because there was some news
- 14:07Speaker 2: that he was developing a same sex story for Homemark
- 14:10Speaker 2: and this does not.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Look like it's it. No, this doesn't look like it's it.
- 14:14Speaker 1: But still to come, I hope, still to come. The
- 14:17Speaker 1: final Movie of the Month is Saturday, January thirty. First,
- 14:21Speaker 1: Missing the Boat Strangers, Kelly and Parker are both enjoying
- 14:25Speaker 1: an Italian cruise until they accidentally missed the ship at
- 14:29Speaker 1: a port stop. Forced to team up, they raced across
- 14:32Speaker 1: southern Italy in hopes of catching up with the boat
- 14:34Speaker 1: and maybe catching feelings along the way. First of all
- 14:38Speaker 1: this stars when Christopher Polaha indeed Emily elluupe directed by
- 14:46Speaker 1: McLean Nelson. One of my faives.
- 14:48Speaker 2: I feel like we're gonna end Saturday or we're gonna
- 14:50Speaker 2: end January.
- 14:50Speaker 1: Real strong, real strong. Emily posted a real cute Instagram
- 14:54Speaker 1: photo of her and Chris on location in Sicily. They
- 15:00Speaker 1: look like they're having a good time. Their job does
- 15:02Speaker 1: not suck. Their job does not suck. Yeah, two beautiful people.
- 15:07Speaker 2: This one came kind of as a surprise, really like
- 15:10Speaker 2: I didn't know, you know, we follow Chris closely here.
- 15:15Speaker 1: We just knew he was off doing stuff, but not
- 15:16Speaker 1: what he was doing.
- 15:17Speaker 2: Yeah, this one came out as a surprise announcement.
- 15:20Speaker 1: What's fun is looking at the Instagram and I know
- 15:22Speaker 1: this is not that uncommon, but the comments are like
- 15:24Speaker 1: a Who's who on Hallmark Michael Rady says, okay with
- 15:27Speaker 1: Palaha and mclan nelson Fomo levels peaking and I haven't
- 15:30Speaker 1: even factored in Italy yet. Robert Buckley Nott Junior says, awesome,
- 15:35Speaker 1: Benjamin Ayers is chiming in, Megan Ory's chiming in. I
- 15:39Speaker 1: mean something about that. They all just one big, happy family.
- 15:42Speaker 1: Chris doesn't make a bad movie. No, I can't wait
- 15:45Speaker 1: for this, cannot wait. This is a fun pairing. Are
- 15:48Speaker 1: you worried about hijinks? Oh? I hadn't even given it
- 15:50Speaker 1: any thought now and McLean Nelson like think to haul
- 15:54Speaker 1: out the Holly that movie and the trilogy, that those
- 15:58Speaker 1: movies could very lego HYJIINXY and they just become fun.
- 16:03Speaker 1: So this is this is We're ending on a high
- 16:06Speaker 1: now for sure. Yeah, I feel like they book ended
- 16:08Speaker 1: the month. I agree with you, But you know it's
- 16:11Speaker 1: the sandwich theory here. I don't know.
- 16:13Speaker 2: They have like a real good movie up up top line,
- 16:16Speaker 2: there's some interesting ones in the middle, and then we
- 16:19Speaker 2: got two solid pieces of bread on the end.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I want you to know that. On our website
- 16:25Speaker 1: right now, there's an ad for Heated Rivalry, the new
- 16:27Speaker 1: HBO Max same sex hockey romance. Not homemark friendly, but
- 16:35Speaker 1: definitely on my radar. FYI. That's really funny because the
- 16:39Speaker 1: ad that's pulling up for me right now is like
- 16:41Speaker 1: tyser Permanente and ads are dynamic and they speak to
- 16:47Speaker 1: your personal on the internet. Megon, they just listen to
- 16:52Speaker 1: me talk. I like a little spicy romance, what can
- 16:56Speaker 1: I say? So? Rounding out the month, we have two series.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Of course, one Calls the Heart is we're returning to Hallmark.
- 17:02Speaker 1: Several people have asked, are we jumping in season thirteen
- 17:05Speaker 1: to begin reviewing it. The answer is no, we are not.
- 17:08Speaker 1: We're gutons for punishment. That's a bridge too far, not
- 17:10Speaker 1: that the show is a punishment thirteen seasons. It doesn't
- 17:13Speaker 1: make sense. Nobody wants that two year. Nobody wants to listen. No, yeah,
- 17:17Speaker 1: I agree.
- 17:19Speaker 2: If you want to know our thoughts on when Calls
- 17:21Speaker 2: a Heart, we did do a first impression of the
- 17:24Speaker 2: very first episode, Yeah, and you can go listen to that. Yes,
- 17:29Speaker 2: you might be pleasantly surprised. I think so too, But
- 17:32Speaker 2: I don't got thirteen seasons in me me either.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Sorry. There is a new reality show dropping on Hallmark,
- 17:39Speaker 1: plus that I have more questions than answers about. It
- 17:41Speaker 1: is hosted by Chile from TLC and Matthew Lawrence. It's
- 17:45Speaker 1: called Second Chance Love. I believe every episode I don't
- 17:49Speaker 1: think it's dropping episodically will drop January first, so it
- 17:52Speaker 1: is already out. As of the airing of this episode
- 17:55Speaker 1: exclusively on Hallmark Plus, we've got couples reuniting to see
- 18:01Speaker 1: if they've still got that spark many many years later.
- 18:05Speaker 1: Whinny is not excited about this, not one bit. I'm
- 18:08Speaker 1: going to give it an episode and see what I think.
- 18:10Speaker 1: We will not be reviewing it here on Girls Con Homemark,
- 18:12Speaker 1: but you can check that out. But it does make
- 18:15Speaker 1: me ask some questions, like what does this mean for
- 18:19Speaker 1: unscripted programming on Hallmark? What does this mean for Hallmark Plus?
- 18:23Speaker 1: Will we be getting some other exclusive releases? We shall see.
- 18:28Speaker 1: We will be reviewing every new movie every Saturday night
- 18:31Speaker 1: movie drop here on Girls Con Homewark. So come back
- 18:34Speaker 1: weekly for those Thank you for listening to this episode
- 18:37Speaker 1: of Girls Gon Hallmark, a Bramble Jam podcast. We'll be
- 18:40Speaker 1: back next time with more Hallmark reviews. Goodbye, bye, all
- 18:55Speaker 1: right friends. Before we go, just a quick heads up,
- 18:58Speaker 1: you're about to hear some ads die little gems. Let's
