- 1:15especially after we the conversation that we had on your show, Like it
- 1:22was it was real, like you brought something out of me that I didn't
- 1:26know I was ready to be transparent with and like it was no after that
- 1:33show, it was confirmation that I had to have you on this season.
- 1:37Y'all. Y'all, her name I called a rock, but her name is

- 1:56yourself before we get into the conversations. I'm not sure if they're they're ready
- 2:02for what you awesome like. So I'm your little drop drop about yourself.
- 2:10India. We're gonna get in two weeks again. So I'm Raquel. Everybody
- 2:15calls me Rock. Um I am thirty years yo, thirty years and four
- 2:23and a half months and um yeah, I just moved to Tallahassee, Florida,
- 2:30So I'm a Floridian now and I am a creative. I am an
- 2:36entrepreneur. Um, I am a designer. I am a full time student
- 2:42again and also a full time worker again. So how I'm doing all those
- 2:46full time don't ask me, is by the grace of the board. Um
- 2:51and um. I have no children, but a whole bunch of nieces and
- 2:58nephews, So I'm t t rock to everybody. Uh yeah, now don't
- 3:04we at y'all. But because for some reason anytime they need some Uh you
- 3:15got five dollars. I know you ain't talk to your MoMA first. I
- 3:17just know for a fact you bypassed your mamacademy. I know you did.
- 3:21Whatever. Uh, that's about it. I come from a musical family.
- 3:25I come from a creative family. So everybody's in their own lanes. We
- 3:30justs all I got. Man, your mom girl, talk about creative.
- 3:38Your mom's voice came from the angels. Like your mom makes me want to
- 3:46cry every time, Like anytime you post, I can't be anywhere in public,
- 3:52like I have to be in my room or you know, somewhere I'm
- 3:54okay with just randomly crying because your mom has a serenity about her, like
- 4:00she she's like you you just roll over and talk to Jesus or you just
- 4:04roll over and just be like, Hi, Jesus. How blame mama God?
- 4:20Like your mama, your mama just it's like, if you don't stop
- 4:26and this is the woman God, you're missing all the grease, you're missing
- 4:30the evidence that God is really real. Like shout out to miss wife,
- 4:36mister White, the prophet, the prophetic voice. Okay, she can sing
- 4:44me or lullaby, you know that's what she needs to do. Just just
- 4:46ask her for a thirty second week lullaby for me, because sometimes your girl
- 4:50can't sleep, and I would be it would soothe my heart, herd,
- 4:57herd. I. But yeah, your brother is an artist too, right,
- 5:02Yes he is so. Um, let me ask you this. Being
- 5:06come from a family that is so creative and had so many gifts, was
- 5:11it hard for you to identify yours? Yes? Extremely, let's talk about
- 5:17so. For a very long time I was either um pastor Wendy and Passage's
- 5:30daughter, Wendy Wyatt's daughter, uh Gerald Watt's twin, or Mike Grizzly's sister,
- 5:41And so me having a name for a identity outside of that became of
- 5:55a little difficult thing. And for a while I was just lying, don't
- 6:00ask me about my family, like, don't ask me about this like And
- 6:03it took the Lord to really be like, you know, that is a
- 6:06part of who you are, Like that's a part of your making, and
- 6:10you know your place in that family strategically, but you also have to own
- 6:16your own voice. And until you do, then yeah, they're gonna just
- 6:20know you as the sibling of or the relative of. They won't know who
- 6:25you are until you start talking and or start moving. And so now the
- 6:33dynamic is a little bit different, and people are like, wait, y'all
- 6:38related, because they'll know me from over here, now my brother from over
- 6:42here. And you know, unless you are in the music community or created
- 6:47community, you wouldn't put two and two together. And so things are different
- 6:53now. But it took me a very long time to kind of figure out
- 6:59where I was a lot of questions I had were kind of like, so,
- 7:02where do I fit in this picture? My dad, my dad is
- 7:08well, both parents are full time pastors, but my dad is also he
- 7:12works in the school system as well, so he has his corporate identity as
- 7:17well as in the church. My mom, of course as a vocal artist
- 7:21teacher and she's a pastor. My brother is an artist, a producer as
- 7:27well as a musician. And for a while I just kind of served in
- 7:30the church. I was always a creative but mostly serving in the church and
- 7:34like serving my family, helping, like where I could be there. And
- 7:40so for a very long time, until I moved, or until I got
- 7:44ready to move, it was very much like, well, this will kind
- 7:46of just be my life. But I knew it wasn't going to be my
- 7:49life and that's not what God had signed me up for. But I had
- 7:55not made the decision start walking in faith, and when I did, think
- 8:00shifted. I don't to answer your question, no, baby, you answered
- 8:03it in full. You hear me. That was so powerful. There's a
- 8:07few questions I have from that because the first question is, is you mentioned
- 8:13that you are currently in school and this is your first year back in back
- 8:20in school or in school, and I'm I know we talked about it lightly,
- 8:26and I want to ask about, like does your family dynamic and you
- 8:33finding your voice and utilizing the voice that you have. What's that your hesitancy
- 8:39about pursuing a higher education or going in your lane or going off because baby,
- 8:45you y'all from Georgia, right and you can move up, but four
- 8:48five hours away from what you know what you're comfortable with. Can you talk
- 8:52about your journey with that and why why now? Why go back to school?
- 8:56Now? You know? Uh So when I first graduated from high school,
- 9:05um in twenty eleven, I went straight into college and our household a
- 9:11higher education was it wasn't up for discussion. That was a part of the
- 9:16journey. That's what you did and as the oldest child. We weren't even
- 9:20about to have that conversation, Like it didn't matter what was going on.
- 9:22I was going to college, so I had um select in my college dad,
- 9:28and I failed mins really miserably the first time. I went eighteen years
- 9:35old, fresh out my parents' house, my first time at my parents' house.
- 9:39And I also had been struggling severely for the for the year and a
- 9:43half prior to me moving out with depression, and nobody knew that, and
- 9:50so by the time I got to it wasn't until this year my mom even
- 9:56knew that, and it's been over a decade. But U so by the
- 10:01time I got to school and I was by myself and I was an adult
- 10:07and I lived. I went to a school where they didn't have like coed,
- 10:13they didn't have a divided dorms or a co ed and they treated you
- 10:16like an adult, so like whatever you want to do is whatever you wanted
- 10:18to do. So I wasn't going to class like that wasn't a thing,
- 10:26or I went to like the first three weeks and after that was like whatever.
- 10:28So I bombed that miserably, and it was the first time I ever
- 10:33failed at anything in my life. And so by the end of that year
- 10:39of my freshman year of college, once I realized how badly I failed,
- 10:43I said I'd never do it again because it was such a sore spot for
- 10:46me. Number One, I had failed miserably clearly. Everybody had these high
- 10:52expectations of me that I could not reach in my mind, and there was
- 10:56too much against me for me to do it again. So I was never
- 10:58gonna happen for me. Um. But so after that I started working,
- 11:05um, serving jobs like in restaurants, corporate America whatever. Fast forward,
- 11:11the lords started dealing with me. I want to say twenty twenty probably he
- 11:24started dealing with me about college. UM. And it wasn't like every single
- 11:28day or every single night, but just like every couple of months, and
- 11:31be like, here go a dream of me literally walking on a campus and
- 11:39like and knowing that I'm enrolled in school, and I was just like that's
- 11:43wild, Like I'll never do it again, Like I feel too badly again.
- 11:46Like it was. It became one of the biggest fears for me to
- 11:50even even attempt it again because of how badly I feel. And so he
- 12:00kept dealing with me about it. Kept dealing with me, and then by
- 12:05summer of twenty one, UM, I was at work. I was working
- 12:11in a real estate office, and he just like I pressed upon me.
- 12:16It was like, have you looked at your transcript um from Kennesaw which is
- 12:20the school I went to? And I never thought to go back and look
- 12:24at it. So I went and I ordered it um from the transcript third
- 12:31party or whatever, and I got it back and when I looked at it,
- 12:35I realized, it's a long way to answer this question. So sorry
- 12:39story. When I looked at the transcript, it wasn't as bad as I
- 12:43thought. I had only God, I had only remembered complete failure. And
- 12:52when I looked at it, there were spots of no, you didn't you.
- 13:00I mean, you didn't do good at all, but like you did
- 13:03pass some courses. You do have credits like those are transferable if you were
- 13:07wanting to go again. So I looked at him, and I when I
- 13:13saw it on my screen, I had I took an early lunch. I
- 13:16looked at it in my office. I took early lunch because I had to
- 13:20immediately leave my office. I was about to have a meltdown because it altered
- 13:24everything I had ever believed for the last ten years. I was just marked
- 13:30with failure, just you'll never do it again. And then all of a
- 13:33sudden, wait, you didn't completely you actually wait a minute. So I
- 13:41called my mom and I'm like bawling on the phone. She was like,
- 13:45what's Wrong's wrong? And I explained the situation. She was like and she
- 13:48had to like calm me down, which was like, the Lord is just
- 13:50letting you know when you're ready, the door is still open for you.
- 13:54It wasn't a closed door, just when you're ready. So I said,
- 14:00okay. So like I had to breathe through all of that, breathe through
- 14:03all of that. And so after that realization is when he started talking to
- 14:11me about it more. Fast forward to April no to March of twenty two,
- 14:18and I started having dreams about fam you in Tallahassee. Now, I
- 14:26always promised myself if I ever did go back, it was gonna be to
- 14:30an HBCU. I wanted to. I wanted to have that experience. And
- 14:35also my grandfather went to FAMU for his undergrad So in honor he's passed away
- 14:41now, but an honor of him, I was gonna do it as like
- 14:43a memorial kind of thing. So that was in March. So by April
- 14:48thirteenth I applied, and consequently I did not get in because and I didn't
- 15:00find out. From April thirteenth to June twenty six, I'm just out here
- 15:05on faith, just believing God, like they gonna let me in. They're
- 15:07gonna let me in. They gonna let me. I did all my due
- 15:09diligence, They're gonna let me in. I didn't put up all these records,
- 15:13sent them everything they need, spend money on transcripts, everything. It
- 15:16didn't get in because as a transfer student, my GP was too low.
- 15:22And I drove the day I found out they hadn't sent me a letter or
- 15:26anything. I drove the Tallahassee from Columbus so three hours and I sat in
- 15:30the admission's office and said, I don't have an answer. I need an
- 15:31answer today, and they came walked over to me all softly, ma'am.
- 15:39So unfortunately, so now I'm in this admin office all embarrassed because out and
- 15:45drove my three hours on faith just to find out a big old nose.
- 15:50So that when that happened, it was like the Lord had been danglingless in
- 15:58front of me and then slam the door shut. You're talking good rock.
- 16:04So it was like I literally was not okay for forty eight hours because it
- 16:11was just like, why would you even bringing this back up? You know
- 16:15how it hurts me to even relive this entire experience and how much faith it
- 16:22took from even and start this journey again. And then there's a big no,
- 16:26and I can't get back in this door. It's what they're telling me
- 16:29right now, that's what I'm hearing. This is an absolute not for me.
- 16:33It's not gonna happen. And so I talked with an advisor there and
- 16:38they were like, well, there's this other school called TCC. It's talahas
- 16:41To Community College and you can go there, work on your GPA, and
- 16:45then transfer back in. And when I heard it, not to be funny,
- 16:51but when I heard community college, I heard low like low budget school.
- 16:56I said, no, we need universities, we do four year colleges.
- 17:02Like, no, we don't do community college. And so that's not
- 17:07what I signed up for. And I didn't even know what a TCC was,
- 17:11and so that was just a hot mess. And the next day we
- 17:15went to TCC to look at the campus, and I said, maybe it's
- 17:19too late to apply, and we walked up there. I say, is
- 17:22it too late? I said, of course not. Man, you can
- 17:23apply right now. We can get you right in the door for fall.
- 17:26And I was like, okay, whatever this is like June twenty seven,
- 17:30and I applied that night. It took me all day, but I applied
- 17:33that night and I had an acceptance in thirty minutes, suddenly, suddenly.
- 17:45But what happened was after we toured the campus that morning, the day after
- 17:51I got denied, we toured the campus the next morning for TCC and I
- 17:56got in my car and I sat and I ain't told this story since I've
- 18:02been living throughout this UM. I sat in my car in front of TCC's
- 18:08admin office and I screamed bald. I was like, Lord, you literally
- 18:18put this in front of me and you snatched it away. And I'm three
- 18:21hours away from home by myself, off of faith. I don't have no
- 18:25money, I don't have no like. I'm out here by myself. You
- 18:29left me in the wilderness, and I like, what you want me to
- 18:33do with this? They told me, no, I can't go back.
- 18:37They told me, no, I have nothing. I am here with literally
- 18:44nothing but a word and some I mean must have seen faith at this point
- 18:48because I'm not down, completely not down. And so I told him then
- 18:55in the prayer like I was just like, you don't have to make this
- 18:57make sense today. I don't drove these albums. Today gotta be the day,
- 19:02like you're gonna have to show me something and it's going to be like
- 19:03tangible proof, like you wasn't crazy. So I got the acceptance that night
- 19:11after I applied. So now we're still on track. Okay, we're still
- 19:17moving to Tallahassee. Is it's gonna be a different school, And fast forward,
- 19:22things start rolling. It's all of a sudden, I'm leaving in a
- 19:26month and a half to leave Columbus to go to Tallahassee. But fast forward
- 19:32to present day. It is February twenty first, almost eight months later.
- 19:41And what I didn't know is that number one TCC was gonna be cheaper,
- 19:49and the scholarships and financial aid that I had was gonna cover for everything so
- 19:56out of pocket. That's the first thing I didn't know. The second thing
- 20:00I didn't realize about community colleges is that they help you get back in the
- 20:04groove of school, so that if you've been out for a long time,
- 20:07they can get you back in the groove. And like they have teachers that
- 20:10actually care about you. That was number two. I certainly did not expect
- 20:18to have a four point zero my first semester back in college when I went
- 20:22in with a one point seven. Wait wait, wait, wait right you
- 20:32helping you helping the feeble right now? Wait, I yowa a bar.
- 20:37You came to Tallahassee with a one point seven and you are not even done
- 20:47with your second semester, your first year, and you you got a four
- 20:51point oh. And let me let me say it, a four point oh,
- 20:56Like damn, you spent ten years in mental anguish thinking that you failed
- 21:06at something that you were actually good at. Raw, I just don't let
- 21:15me, okay, let me just tell you what I just heard. Like
- 21:19you just said that for ten years, you were stuck in a place that
- 21:29was a lie. Literally you were stuck in a lie, and it took
- 21:36ten years for you to go back to even look at that place, y'all.
- 21:41I love what I love about healing and deliverance is always scary for the
- 21:47for what we got to go back to what we experienced. But the beautiful
- 21:49thing about that is we remember what we remember versus the entire thing. That
- 21:56we remember what we choose to remember, and that could be a something that
- 22:00kept us in bundage. But if we just trust God to go back to
- 22:04that place, that's the first step. You gotta trust God to go back
- 22:07to that place and look at that thing again, y'all. That's what Rock
- 22:11saying. She said she had to have courage enough to just go look at
- 22:15it. She had to have courage enough to just go look at the thing
- 22:22again. And watch this. When she looked at y'all, she got knowledge.
- 22:26Watch this, The word of God says you. We parish for the
- 22:30lack of knowledge. She was pariship for teaching because you did not know that
- 22:40you were you. You felt at something, you didn't feel at everything.
- 22:45You really it wasn't it wasn't your knee. You fighting depression. You depressed,
- 22:49But over a lie, y'all, over a lie or a lie,
- 22:56a complete lie. She was an anguish and tormenting over So the enemy just
- 23:00kept the lot going, fueled the lot until she said, you know what,
- 23:04God, I'm gonna trust you over then what I believe. I'm gonna
- 23:07trust you over this feeling that I have. I'm gonna trust you over what
- 23:11I believe in myself. When God said do it, I'm gonna I'm gonna
- 23:14show you something and then I'm gonna put something in you and I'm not gonna
- 23:17leave you along until you go to this place. Now, I need you
- 23:19to go to Tallahassee. The reason why you watched it, the reason why
- 23:22you had to go to Tallahassee because you would have never went to that community
- 23:25college. You would have community college at home because that's your comfort zone.
- 23:30So God said, trust me and this you had to go. You had
- 23:33to go get your denial. You're not yet from fam. You to go
- 23:38to the place where you need to be and then get blessed in the place
- 23:41that you didn't want to go to, get blessed in the place of process,
- 23:48right this, And the crazy part is your testimony ain't even done,
- 23:52since that's the wild part. But yeah, yeah, I literally I did
- 24:00not know that was gonna happen. And then again present day, February second,
- 24:06I started working in the enrollment center at my school. So I spent
- 24:14four or five months hold up. Wait, wait, did you say you're
- 24:18working enrollment center for the school? What they except students and declined students.
- 24:30So my job is to help students apply and get what they need done.
- 24:34But i'm we're the first line for student affairs. So my boss told me,
- 24:47let me tell you, Let me tell you. Let's tell my boss
- 24:49told me. She said, first of all, you blew us away in
- 24:52your interview but part of the reason why we hired you is because you are
- 24:56already a student. You already know how this process works. So you can
- 24:59get on the phone to tell anybody, Okay, this is what you need
- 25:00to do to apply to get here and do da that makes you have this,
- 25:03It makes you have that. So the same school that I did not
- 25:07want no piece of to enroll in or anything else, now pay my bills
- 25:11and they offered me the highest salary that I've ever been offered in corporate America.
- 25:18So when I calculated my bills for the month, because I have an
- 25:23apartment by myself, now well I calculate my bills and everything else that I
- 25:27half of the month, I still have access to be chilling just me and
- 25:33I didn't even want to see no parts of this school when I first saw
- 25:37it, but it was literally the door to everything else I needed. So
- 25:51I just to include to include school benefits, meaning after six months, I
- 25:59am now for tuition reimburrassement. So as long as I'm taking no no no,
- 26:04no no no no. Because I was each other fan. So as
- 26:08long as I am enrolled, they're gonna start paying for my classes and then
- 26:15let's go. This is too good because I was applying for months begging God
- 26:26for a corporate jo I said, Lord, I do corporate America. Why
- 26:29these people not hiring me? I'm confused. Like I got all the credentials,
- 26:32I am fully able to do these jobs, denied for every single one
- 26:36of them until I got to this one and I asked God for a certain
- 26:40amount. I asked God for certain things that I wanted, But what I
- 26:42did not ask God for was Teriian reimbursement, or a full paid spring break,
- 26:48or two weeks of vacation for Christmas, or access to all the other
- 26:52amenities that I have. I didn't ask for all of that. I got
- 26:56a plan of spring break now because it's paid, and I get time,
- 27:00oh for a whole week in two weeks and for Christmas. They were like,
- 27:03yeah, we get off on the sixteenth pole back on the second,
- 27:07just hanging out with your family. You mean I get to sit on my
- 27:10mum account for two weeks and not worry about nothing, and y'all gonna put
- 27:15the rectifies into my account. I'm confused. I've never known this life before.
- 27:22Everything I needed was literally after I said, okay, God, I'm
- 27:27gonna just trust you to include the apartment that I now live in that first
- 27:37somehow I qualified by myself. Still ain't figured that part out yet, but
- 27:41I lived there by myself. And that's the gig. Like I think you
- 28:00did a I owe you on me, because right now, y'all, she
- 28:06told me by the ear of her of her lives that we did. Y'all
- 28:14gonna follow her? What is it? I am? I am rekilled.
- 28:18You can call me rock. You can call me rock. I recall you
- 28:32got me so missed up in the head right now. Yeah, I see
- 28:41what you I see what you were saying for me. Because this testimony,
- 28:48this this is not even it's not even done. And how quickly God exposed
- 28:56you to what he has for you to Literally he says, you know what
- 29:02I'm going to pay you back for your suffering because you're my daughter. I
- 29:08Am going to pay you back in full things that you didn't even think about,
- 29:14that that you would need and benefit you. I love you that much
- 29:18to prepare you. Like the table was set you just you you just said
- 29:26it had to say, God, where do you want me to sit?
- 29:30God? What would you like for me to sit? Do you do you
- 29:33want me to sit in this chair? This? This is my plate?
- 29:36Or and then just trust that trust that your point wasn't gonna be empty,
- 29:40that he was bringing you everything. Watched it that he was bringing you everything
- 29:44that you needed. You didn't have to go seek it. Like he literally
- 29:48put it in front of you and said, hey, just trust me in
- 29:52this, and like that is the favor and that is the love of God.
- 29:59And this season is I told you early and everybody already knows now it
- 30:03is what it is. It goes back to it is what it is because
- 30:07God is that I am that I am. He says, your response shall
- 30:14be I am that I am. So you literally you're literally living in the
- 30:18idiot is what it is? Part of your life? Like I don't know
- 30:22how to explain it, girl, I don't know how to explain it.
- 30:27It is what it is, it is, and I'm trusting God in the
- 30:33is what it is period yo, like rock like I'm a little speechless right
- 30:44now, Okay, let me let me I need to say this one part
- 30:47though. What wow? Um? So for a year, it wasn't even
- 30:57a full year. About ten months before I moved, I quit my full
- 31:03time job. September thirty twenty one was the last day I worked in Corporate
- 31:07America. The Lord told me to leave my job for some reason. I
- 31:10was like, this is crazy. It's the easiest job I've ever done.
- 31:11Why would I leave? Told me to leave? So for the next that
- 31:15started my trust and faith walk. So by the time he was like pack
- 31:19up and move, I was like, well, okay, here we go.
- 31:22But when I was when I first got there August, when I first
- 31:27got Tallahassee August seventeen, I had no job, had no nothing, nothing
- 31:33lyric just had a couple of love offerings that some church people slid me on
- 31:36the way out and go okay. So I was like, okay, I
- 31:41need a job, and I went to the mall. I was applying to
- 31:45other places. They didn't work. I went to the mall, said,
- 31:47okay, I'm leaving here with a job. I walked in the journeys,
- 31:48Underground Journeys. I had never worked retail in my life. I walked into
- 31:52Underground Journeys the Friday, the Thursday before Labor Day weekend, and the girl
- 31:57said, can I help you? I said, I need a job,
- 32:00and they hired me the next day. So from Labor Day weekend to when
- 32:08did I leave there, I got offered the job the twenty seventh. So
- 32:16yeah, the twenty eighth was my last day. I worked Underground Journeys part
- 32:22time, making between one hundred and one hundred and twenty dollars a week.
- 32:25Asked me how I survived off for that for four months. I don't know.
- 32:29I can't give you the mask work did that. My last day was
- 32:36the twenty eighth, and I started in this new role on the second.
- 32:45And so I haven't had any kind of income for real since the twenty eighth.
- 32:52And for some reason, I'm not hungry, and for some reason,
- 32:58I still got lights on, and for some reason I got everything I need
- 33:02in excess. I can't make this math math for you right now, I
- 33:09really can't. I'm still trying to figure out how all these things lined up
- 33:15the way that they did, and how anytime I think I'm about to be
- 33:20at my very last couple of dollars, I'm getting a random cash app from
- 33:23somebody. Oh just thinking about you? So so are you just literally putting
- 33:31people like putting me on the minds of people just to I don't know how
- 33:37this works. I can't make this make sense. But I wasn't just crossing
- 33:43my legs waiting on God, Okay, you send me out here whatever you
- 33:46want me to do, and just rocking in place like that's not how this
- 33:51worked. That like, what are you going to do in the meantime he
- 33:53doesn't send you out here? Okay, Well I gotta figure out something to
- 33:57do. So I went to class in the daytime, and in the evenings
- 34:00I was at journeys work. I had worked my first Black Friday all my
- 34:05feet. I've never done a vote, But like things I said I never
- 34:08do, I'm doing DoorDash now and I actually love DoorDash and I'm only doing
- 34:14it right now just because I won't income I don't have to do it anymore.
- 34:19But I was like the things I said I never do, I enjoy.
- 34:24It's wild for me, wild for me. I don't know what just
- 34:30happened, but this is good. This is good. I didn't even know
- 34:38that we were gonna go this way. I'm so sorry. And the reason
- 34:44that we went this way it wasn't in the in the cost plane. Oh
- 34:47listen, and that's this is why. Okay, so give y'all back story.
- 34:52Like Rod was like, okay, what you need from me? What
- 34:55we're gonna be doing? And I told her it's just gonna be me and
- 35:00her talking. Like one thing I've done. I have a podcast mentor.
- 35:07My podcast mentor is Tim Ross. He don't know it. He don't know
- 35:13it yet. I'm gonna go ahead, put it, answer it. Yeah,
- 35:15yeah, my podcast mentor. It's Tim Ross. And the reason why
- 35:22he's my mentor is because he don't it's he's an example example of it is
- 35:31what it is like, don't try to overdo being you, and he's unapologically,
- 35:37unapologically himself, Like this world has enough people trying to be everybody else
- 35:43other than themselves. And even if you're still trying to figure it out,
- 35:45like which I don't. I think I'm starting to get into a place where
- 35:49I know that and being bold in who I am and the meaning the good
- 35:54back. And so I aspire to have the level of confidence and and peace
- 36:01about who I am as Tim Ross exemplifies, you know what I'm saying,
- 36:07Like he is, I love the Basement like I love the Basement like I
- 36:13would. That's probably the only one of the only podcasts I can listen to
- 36:16for hours like I would listen to I will. I will commit to listening
- 36:23to that for hours because one is good too. The reason why it's doing
- 36:29so well is because they're not doing all the preparation. They're allowing how the
- 36:34Holy Spirit to be Holy Spirit. And so that's what you don't get from
- 36:37me. That's what you don't get from just ads. We're just gonna have
- 36:39a conversation and wherever the conversation leads, Like you just don't know how many
- 36:45people you just free by telling your story of you going back to school.
- 36:50Now you now, let me tell ya something six is creative like Che's bomb
- 36:52creative like And it kind of is a great segue to what one of the
- 36:58things I did want to bring up because I think this is powerful. Okay,
- 37:01So me and Rock have only I've known of Rocks for probably probably seven
- 37:12or eight years. I've known of her. What I mean by that is,
- 37:15I know I know her through our mutual best friend shout out to Philip,
- 37:22shout out to out outside our best friend Philip, and so I've known
- 37:27of her, and I've understood the level of influence that she has in phillips
- 37:31life and vice versa. I understand that before that was a me, that
- 37:36was a rock. That was like before there was a lot of people,
- 37:38there was a rock. And so I'm feeling so I'm FeelA, be so
- 37:43TRANSPARI with you. You don't even so y'all haven't told her? Okay,
- 37:45wait a minute, Wait a minute, wait a minute before you say whatever
- 37:47you for to say. I found a picture of you and Phil from Ariel's
- 37:52wedding in my phone. Yes, I have to send it to you because
- 37:58I look, I zoomed it. I was like, who this girl?
- 38:00He posted away? Oh my, that's Jay. You can't that girl winning
- 38:06everything? And we would not. I mean, I mulled you. You
- 38:10are mugging vu. That's why they just said it to you. I mowed
- 38:15you. I'm not even Fenna, Lie, I mowed you. Okay,
- 38:17So if anybody knows me personally, y'all understand a level of friendship that me
- 38:22and Philip has, Yes, And I'm really it knowing me period my friends.
- 38:28I do not play about like I am very I don't say territorial,
- 38:31but cut throat like I just when I love, I love so hard and
- 38:37so Philip, you know he tells me. He was like, no,
- 38:39you know, my friend, you don't remember. No, I ain't heard.
- 38:44No. Okay, thank you, thank you so much, you know,
- 38:47not necessarily being that, but just like looking back at it was a
- 38:52spear of what like competition, right, and so I'm about to get I'm
- 39:00trying to free some felts being transparent with this child. So um, we
- 39:05finally finally met last year, Um when Philip guy his PhD. And that
- 39:13wasn't Mannie twenty twenty two. Yeah, we were together for not even a
- 39:22full hour. Now, I was shot, like when everybody first came out
- 39:27or whatever I was. You know, I'm at the work only is I'm
- 39:30more like so of an introvert, but I'm really like peeping game and looking.
- 39:32I knew exactly who she would y'all. I knew exactly and I was
- 39:45like, you know I spoke the I spoke the UM, I spoke to
- 39:49Philip Brothers or whatever, and I spoke to Um. Now I didn't know
- 39:52it for a few people, but I definitely knew who she would and I
- 39:55was like, Okay, you know cool being she healed. You know what
- 39:59I say? Hill, She Hill. You know what I'm saying, Like,
- 40:06I just didn't know and if you, I'm gonna be real real transplaying
- 40:09with you. I just didn't know what to expect. You get what I'm
- 40:15saying. And so so when I think it was that that evening where you
- 40:22just came to me, or when I was asleep, I kept going asleep,
- 40:28but then when I finally woke up, you came to me and you
- 40:30just started talking to me. And I was like, okay, this,
- 40:35you know, this is cute. You know what I'm saying. Like now
- 40:37I'm telling myself this is cute. In my brain, I'm like okay,
- 40:39And Philip knows how I am, Like he finally explained to me, like
- 40:44I'm there. I'm mindful of how much I released myself to people because of
- 40:49the things that I've experienced, right, and so at that point I'm like
- 40:52that, like I'm like, yes, she being nice, but she don't
- 40:54really know me showing who I am. She's just doing nice because I'm okay,
- 40:59we can right um. And so that weekend she end up being my
- 41:07best friend. You end up being my best friend. And like we were
- 41:13mad at Philip, like bro mad, why didn't you? Like why haven't
- 41:20why hasn't this happened yet? Like why why are we just meet each other?
- 41:24Like this is so irritating to the point where we don't need Philip to
- 41:29talk to each other. Obviously, right y'all don't see him on but why
- 41:36listen? We were celebrating at Philip's brand and you would think that we've been
- 41:43newing. That was like people really asked us, like, oh, how
- 41:45long y'all been friends? Oh? We just mad yesterday, like we just
- 41:50made yesterday and there was not a line. And so the conversations that we
- 41:54have we don't talk every day. We don't, you know, do all
- 41:58the every day. But the love up and respect is there not because of
- 42:02who we connected to, but how we appreciate each other. But Rock,
- 42:07you had to present the first and what I admire about you, And this
- 42:10is a segue that I'm going into when you with your creativity. Earlier were
- 42:15talking about you know, your family and how you know you had to find
- 42:21your voice and utilize your voice. What I feel like when I the moments
- 42:25that I have used my voice, like I was dislike, Um, I
- 42:30wasn't accepted, I was misunderstood, stood especially about by women, especially about
- 42:37women, Like I got some stuff that I still probably got to heal from
- 42:42from high school, like to a point where it's like, why are y'all
- 42:49fighting me? Why do I feel like y'all are fighting me? And so
- 42:53I just automatically assume that because the regard that Philip had for me, that
- 43:01you you automatically be like, have that same spirit. So I went ahead
- 43:06and say, you know, I'm gonna do it to her first. And
- 43:08so my question to you is when did you how did you learn to manage
- 43:15understanding who you are not to just anybody, but to yourself first, right,
- 43:22because you have to embrace that first and then manage being the the encourager.
- 43:30The y'all, she is very creative, like that thing, like she
- 43:35is so creative, she is she is just brilliant, y'all. Like I
- 43:39just can't I can't describe how brilliant she is and to have her like somebody
- 43:45like her just love on me and poor to me. And I have not
- 43:51known her a full year yet she don't owe me, not a thing,
- 43:57not a thing, and she is so powerful And I'm trying to find a
- 44:07word for just accepting and encouraging of other people's guilts, like how do you
- 44:15how do you somebody that struggles with insecurity like I have, right because obviously
- 44:20there was an insecure decision, insecure thought process, and I know you.
- 44:23This is my first time release releasing this stuff to you of how to open
- 44:29up to you being being that you're a beautiful black woman. You are gifted,
- 44:35talented and anointed, right, but you're able to steal appreciate other's guilts
- 44:40like there's a there's a special kind of somebody and normally people have to learn
- 44:46it, but it seems like it's so natural for you. And thank you
- 44:53for all the things I feel honest, Um, and to before I answer
- 45:00that to your point, when this is my side of the story, she
- 45:07told herself, Um, I did not know she would be there because Phil,
- 45:20He's gonna be done. What it's by the time of this conversation is
- 45:22over, but he talked to her about me, but he didn't really talk
- 45:30to me about her. Mm so feel you now, Dot Sullivan him,
- 45:42um so by the time and you you're gonna crack up. But this is
- 45:49how I saw this. By time, I was I got there Thursday night
- 45:53of graduation weekend, got that Thursday night, and so Friday morning, everybody's
- 46:00together and then we all are waiting outside and I'm with the family or whatever.
- 46:07We're all waiting outside for Phil to come out. But then here it
- 46:10comes this dark skinned Barbie walking up and her hair is like blowing in the
- 46:15wind, and I was like, who was And then I was like,
- 46:22oh hey. I was just like, okay whatever, and then like y'all's
- 46:28pictures were perfect, and I was like, I don't know if I like
- 46:30this, but okay whatever. Everybody likes her, so I'm gonna shut up.
- 46:37And then I think we went to where do we go? Oh,
- 46:40lady game? Yeah, I think that's the first time. Wait, yeah,
- 46:49that was was kind of like yeah anyway, anyway, uh, that
- 46:54was the first time we saw it. And then after that, I was
- 46:57just like, I think I got comfortable with you really quickly. But I've
- 47:05learned when it comes to multiple friendships or number one Fiel's case, he's everybody's
- 47:09friends. So I had to learn quickly that you just have you just have
- 47:15a special play. If you're friends with him, he like values your friendship
- 47:20and you're special to him. So you just gotta be like confronted. You
- 47:25gotta be you know, kind of secure in your friendship and not be jealous
- 47:30of whatever else is going on. But by the time I connected with you,
- 47:36it was like I felt like I had a friend, like not just
- 47:43like not like another you run into how much people and y'all be social media
- 47:52girls and be the end of the conversation because and at this part, I
- 47:59haven't told you, and if I cry out, I'll be very upset.
- 48:01But um so, of course the weekend went on, and then by Sunday
- 48:08morning, of course, all the things and just leave it there, let
- 48:20all the things, and and I she is in the bed, and I
- 48:32pretty much pushed her over and like just get in the bed with her.
- 48:36And we just started laughing. We didn't say two words, We just laughing
- 48:40word We're just laughing. And it's like before ten o'clock in the morning and
- 48:45kicking kid and before. But by time we finished laughing about whatever, you
- 48:51turned to me, it was like, okay, but are you okay?
- 48:54And when you asked me it was like my heart was like no, she's
- 49:00a friend, Like she cares about my heart at the end of the day.
- 49:07So when I knew that, I was like, I found a sister
- 49:10for life. That's what I don't know. But to answer your question,
- 49:21I'll realize really quickly that I can't do everything I'm not. I'm good at
- 49:27a lot, but I'm not good at everything. And it takes the pressure
- 49:32off of me when I realize other people are good in other areas and take
- 49:37some point. I'm usually the point person and directing traffic and all things like
- 49:45that. And when it came to fields graduation party, you were directing traffic.
- 49:49So I'm like, okay, where I need to put this box because
- 49:52clearly I ain't got to worry about nothing because miss Mama got it so okay.
- 49:58And so to be able to be like and honoring gifts and other people
- 50:02like you realize how literally how diverse the kingdom is and how the Lord literally
- 50:13gave each person a certain kind of gift, and you have most people with
- 50:16you know that, you know share a gift, but everybody's flow is different,
- 50:22and so the way I do it in the way you do it.
- 50:25It can be getting the same job done, but execute it differently and with
- 50:30their own taste and style. And I think it's so beautiful when everybody does
- 50:37what they're called to do, when they're called to do it, and it
- 50:39flows perfectly. You're not running into each other, you're not on top of
- 50:44each other, nobody's colliding. When everybody's in their own zone, it flows
- 50:47beautifully and it's harmonious. And I just I have been to your point earlier
- 50:55about being kind of scarred about using my voice. I was, and I
- 51:02had this thought earlier, and it was probably as the Lord that had put
- 51:07me down this path early in my brain because I'm a pastor's kid. A
- 51:13lot of times in the development of the ministry, there were seasons where I
- 51:17was put in how can I say this leadership type roles when I feel like
- 51:28they were it was premature because of number one, because of my age biologically
- 51:35and my age mature wise, immaturity. I had not developed or grown at
- 51:44all as a woman, especially not as a leader. But because there was
- 51:47a void here I am now leading a group, or here I am now
- 51:52overseeing. And there were people in certain groups that were older than me,
- 51:59but I'm having to give them instruction and I'm nowhere in my right mind in
- 52:05a position to be doing that, I don't think. But somehow I'm being
- 52:09trusted with these assignments, and I'm just like, I know there were times
- 52:16I mishandled people. I know there were Would they ever say it to me,
- 52:21Probably not, but I know there were times. But and I was
- 52:25in there were key times that I was over leadership moments, and I was
- 52:30barely twenty one. I was like, I have no regard for how life
- 52:37really works. I have no children, Like I'm living in my mom house,
- 52:40like I don't know what's what, and trying to tell grown folks what
- 52:46to do, like that's that's crazy. So for to answer the other question,
- 52:51for a very long time, I was very silent, and that's how
- 52:53I ended up in the complacent part of my life, where I was just
- 52:59like, this is just how it always will be, me serving me,
- 53:04doing what everybody thinks I should be doing, making sure my family straight got
- 53:07out to die, and I stopped dreaming completely dreaming or fantasizing about anything other
- 53:15than doing what I was doing in that moment. It was a very distant
- 53:20memory. I just started dreaming again, probably after the pandemic started, because
- 53:28like the idea of anything other than what I just work, go home,
- 53:34work, go home. And I had always been a dreamer. I'd always
- 53:38been thinking outside the box. I would had crazy visions at sixteen and seventeen
- 53:43about what life would look like. But when life kept knocking me down so
- 53:49badly, by the end of it, I was just like, Okay,
- 53:52so this is this is what it's gonna be. This is we hustle,
- 53:57we go to church, we go home because back to work. Um so
- 54:07yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. It took a lot for me to even
- 54:10get to the place where I was like, yeah, I'm gonna have a
- 54:14podcast or yeah I'm gonna do my live or anything else and actually use my
- 54:16voice. That did not happen overnight. It did not happen overnight. A
- 54:22journey and it don't happen over night. Like the Lord had to really,
- 54:27I know it sounds like what you like, The Lord had to really like
- 54:30push me and be like you're gonna do You're gonna do this podcast because I
- 54:36need you to appreciate your voice. And in my first season, I only
- 54:39had one one guest and that was that was my friend, my sister friend
- 54:45Breath. She's gonna be on again this season, but that's my that's my
- 54:51sister friend Bree. And but the Lord literally made me do nine episodes of
- 54:54just listening to myself, like literally appreciating what I bring to the table and
- 55:04to also take myself serious. Like a lot of us want, we want
- 55:09so much help, but it's like, have you even been your own help?
- 55:14Like have you even gotten to the point where you appreciate what you bring
- 55:16yourself? And literally the first season of just as oh this is so good,
- 55:28thank you all the spirit this revelation. So the first season was back
- 55:32to the basics, just called back to the basics and not realizing that not
- 55:39calling ourselves basis. But what back to the basis means back to your foundation
- 55:45is you and God. That's the foundation. That's the foundational relationship that you
- 55:52should look at. That's the foundational principle that you should look at. That's
- 55:54the foundation of what goes on between you and God and what God allows you
- 55:59to release. A God allows you to experience. That's what you go back
- 56:02to when all else fills you. That's what you go back to. That's
- 56:07what you value, that's what you honor. And I dishonored myself by highlighting
- 56:12everybody else because of this comparison situation that I have going on, right,
- 56:17Like, that was all I was doing with you, bro, I was
- 56:21comparing myself. I was measuring myself up to you and trying to figure out
- 56:24what what was it about this girl? And that's a that's the thing about
- 56:29what has broken me as being a branch manager my nine to five Like I
- 56:32don't, I don't. I can see the good and the excellence and the
- 56:37greatness and my assistant ranch manager or my account specials, like I see the
- 56:43greatness in them, and I even tell them Now I say it from a
- 56:46proud place. I'd be like I tell everybody like, oh, that's gonna
- 56:49better than me, with no with no hesitation, because it's an honor.
- 56:53They're supposed to go ahead of me. I didn't do my job. If
- 56:59they don't, they're not better than me, right, And so it makes
- 57:02me, this was his head, made me, like you said, you
- 57:06said it so eloquently, like honoring people's gifts, but also honoring the fact
- 57:12that you don't always have to be the one to do. Does it my
- 57:15value? And the way I saw myself was what can I do? Because
- 57:20that's all people like the people that I was dealing with at certain point in
- 57:22my life, what I can do, it shows my value, not who
- 57:28I am. To the point where I didn't even know who I am,
- 57:30or I didn't do anything when God should everything down. God literally shout everything
- 57:36down at a point in my life to where he had to say, Okay,
- 57:39you you have nope, you have permission to do nothing. You have
- 57:44permission to go to church, be a regular member, go to word a
- 57:51regular listen. If y'all don't know, I'm a PK two. So what
- 57:54is a regular member? Let's talk about that. What is a regular member?
- 58:00Show up, pagetized, get the word and go home. That was
- 58:07that was my assignment for a season. Show up, pagetized, get the
- 58:10word and go home, because I need you to understand why you're able to
- 58:17do this is so good. I I was so into what I was doing
- 58:24that I didn't know who I was. Because I didn't I didn't realize my
- 58:29doing came out of my being. But because I could never identify the be
- 58:34the do was in vain. Oh day right, Like it's so easy,
- 58:54that's so reality, it's so reality, so many of us that that's why,
- 59:00that's why our businesses are feeling. That's why we we we hop I
- 59:04don't almost call it. I have to watch my mouth, but we hopping,
- 59:07hopping, you know what I wanted to say, UM from entrepreneurship Opportunity
- 59:16here, business open opportunity here. But like I what's his name? I
- 59:23can't think it. Shan't Shan the one that's our social proof. Oh my
- 59:28gosh, I'm having a brain fart. I'm having a brain fart. But
- 59:35he was talking about UM. He always brings up the fact that he he
- 59:40sold T shirts or something like that, working at UM, working at the
- 59:46cheesecake factory. He focused on one thing and then made it bigger, like
- 59:53this part the podcast situation not only see on podcast when he teach other people
- 59:58to the podcast, ain't teach your the people how to you know, he
- 1:00:00has other businesses where he started with his one thing. And so the reason
- 1:00:04why we'd be like, oh I'm good at this, I'm good at this
- 1:00:06I'm good at this. But God, where do you have Like you said
- 1:00:08earlier, you said this earlier over the God, where do you have me?
- 1:00:13Where do you want me to be? Because you might I'm Kingdom,
- 1:00:16so I'm gonna be good at everything you put me in, Sir. I'm
- 1:00:22kingdom, so I'm gonna be good at wherever folks want me to do because
- 1:00:25I'm kingdom. That's in my DNA. But that's not a requirement or prerequisite
- 1:00:31for me to do everything. Girl, I'm freeing myself right now. It
- 1:00:37is not it is not right. And you know, the last two weeks
- 1:00:52I'm meant text you this. I discovered a new church here in town two
- 1:00:57weeks ago. Last Sunday was my my second time going, and the church
- 1:01:02is called the Restoration Place. Wow. And when I first the first Sunday
- 1:01:09i went, I was I don't think praising worship had even started yet.
- 1:01:15I was already crying, and I was like, I don't know why.
- 1:01:16I just feel like safe here. But it was just like, you don't
- 1:01:21have to do no work. I just want you to like see, and
- 1:01:25I got all I needed that whole service. I was like, I go
- 1:01:29back next Sunday. But when I say snotted all through service last Sunday,
- 1:01:34Like so I was telling somebody about it, they were like, how fading
- 1:01:37is the name? Like you literally been in warfare mode for months, like
- 1:01:43just trying to get through it, trying to get through it, and you
- 1:01:45finally get to a place where you can exhale. So the Lord was like,
- 1:01:49come over here for a second. I just want to pour back into
- 1:01:52you. That's it. You ain't gotta do nothing like just sitting alligin,
- 1:01:57just being a subasing worship. Just be man like, just be, just
- 1:02:07be, because I feel like the enemy blinds us with who just with the
- 1:02:12factor. Just be, because if we get caught up in the doing,
- 1:02:15will attach to what he was, what we're doing, even if it's good,
- 1:02:22even if it's good, it will distract us from our actual purpose and
- 1:02:27where God has designed us to be and lane that we're supposed to be in,
- 1:02:32because he knows once we find out where we really supposed who we really
- 1:02:37are, will connected to the lane we're supposed to be in and dominate and
- 1:02:43literally dominate and demolish that area because if everybody was in the lane, everybody
- 1:02:50will be in this in position to attack every demonic spirit, every every evil
- 1:02:57territory, every evil thought, every we like. That's how kingdom spreads when
- 1:03:02where we're supposed to be. That was why the Lord allowed you to not
- 1:03:06even get the denial in Tallahassee until you made it to Talahassee, so you
- 1:03:09could connect to where you were supposed to be, because that was your This
- 1:03:14is your lame right now, I was telling you I did not know it
- 1:03:21was already there, because I said, before I got the reason why I
- 1:03:24had to go to Tallahassee, I was pressed for weeks ago to physically go,
- 1:03:29and I said, I would not have known this other option existed until
- 1:03:32I went. I would I would not have just found that out online.
- 1:03:37I mean I could have probably gotten to the website eventually, but I had
- 1:03:39to go see it for myself and connect for those things to fall into place.
- 1:03:45And uh yeah, I just would have never thought that this was how
- 1:03:51the story was gonna play out. And it's not done, but I didn't.
- 1:03:52I didn't think it was that's all. It is not done. It's
- 1:03:59not this. I'm I'm I'm so so proud of you, and I'm so
- 1:04:05appreciative you. I'm appreciative that I know you in real life. So this
- 1:04:11is just not like a whole podcast situation. This is like a life thing.
- 1:04:15And I'm just grateful that my my resistance and um, my weakness or
- 1:04:28opportunity did not keep you away from just being you so much so that I
- 1:04:35get to expose myself to the rock. So watch this. After after I
- 1:04:42did did You a Live and we were talking, I was like, her
- 1:04:50nickname is rock How I run it? Because when we think about the rock,
- 1:05:00we think about the solid, We think about how solid it is.
- 1:05:03We think about something that's you know, hard, we think it's about something
- 1:05:08that is dangerous if you put it in the right hand, like David,
- 1:05:13you know is you think about all these things. But when you think about
- 1:05:16it, when you think about somebody that's your rock, you think somebody that's
- 1:05:20that it, that it is so solid and unwavering. And we were talking
- 1:05:26about how many people, how people like depend on you and all that stuff
- 1:05:30like that, and it's so befitting though, like you are so solid like
- 1:05:35you are, you are solid solid, and I'm I'm just appreciative of your
- 1:05:44being like just as simple as that. Nothing that you do what's crazy is
- 1:05:47y'all. What I like about her and eyes relationship. We haven't done anything
- 1:05:51for each other other than be there for each other, like just be this
- 1:05:57relationship, just be situation. Don't send had sent no cash all, hadn't
- 1:06:01visit each other, and this is just this is an example of a friendship
- 1:06:05that is a just be friendship, like I'm here for you, I support
- 1:06:09you, I like I'm I'm I just appreciate you being. I don't know,
- 1:06:17I really don't know if I've ever really experienced that like that for this
- 1:06:23amount of time with someone, with someone period, like I love all my
- 1:06:29friends. It's not discredit anything, but just just a being situation like this
- 1:06:33is this is a just be friendship, not saying we won't get to the
- 1:06:39point and yeah we gonna fly each other out and stuff later. We're gonna
- 1:06:44do all that right now. Period. It's a just big But I think
- 1:06:49that's how it started. That was our foundation of like we were just kind
- 1:06:56of chilling, like you don't owe me nothing, I don't owe you nothing.
- 1:07:00It was kind of just like we here and so there was nothing to
- 1:07:04fake or you know, make grand after that, Like our core was just
- 1:07:11like sitting on the couch of talking or laying around and talking like it so
- 1:07:15we don't have to do nothing else. After that, it was just that's
- 1:07:17just what it was, um, especially after you told me how to put
- 1:07:23that hat on with that dress when I wanted to. But anyway, I'm
- 1:07:27gonna tell you the truth. One thing I'm not gonna like to anybody's woman.
- 1:07:30If you if it's not fitting, if it don't go together to me
- 1:07:34it because I don't ask. I don't consider myself or financially. I asked
- 1:07:42my I asked my sisters today. I said, hey, is this navy
- 1:07:45blue? If this and I'm telling you them, don't go to gether and
- 1:07:50I gotta ask if this color the navy blue? You don't need to weg
- 1:07:57it's not the outfit. Ain't outfit? Okay. She was like, but
- 1:08:03no, we're not doing that. But I know it wasn't. But you
- 1:08:10gave though when you gave me, gave it. Okay, we did a
- 1:08:16thing. We did a fact. Yes, yes, girl, I'm so
- 1:08:21grateful for you, um, for being on here. So I'm gonna give
- 1:08:27you opportunity. If there was one thing one thought that you would leave with
- 1:08:30the people, and after this you can say where you where they can find
- 1:08:35you in all and stuff like that. What is that that one thing?
- 1:08:39One thought? Um, I've been saying this a lot lately, but I
- 1:08:54think it's worth repeating. I think you heard me say this before. UM,
- 1:09:00handle what you can handle today? As a previous overthinker, when I
- 1:09:12started this faith walk in the last year and a half two years, the
- 1:09:17math wasn't mathing. It still don't math. Honestly, the details were not
- 1:09:24ironed out. I didn't know when I was getting ready to move to Tallahassee,
- 1:09:27I didn't know where I was gonna live. Like. I can't tell
- 1:09:30you how many things from a mental standard were completely out of source and did
- 1:09:38not make sense until I started moving. So I've just coined this. Okay,
- 1:09:46what can I handle today? Even when it comes down to me being
- 1:09:49the grocery store and wanting to buy the entire section. Oh, I'm gonna
- 1:09:56need this in a couple of weeks. Okay, But what do you need
- 1:09:58today? That's so good? What can wait? Like? What? What
- 1:10:03do I not have to think about right this second? What needs to what's
- 1:10:08the priority today? Because the Bible clearly says tomorrow has no problems of his
- 1:10:13own. You do not like you don't know what's coming tomorrow. You can
- 1:10:17plan all day. People plan all day. People that are no longer living
- 1:10:21planned for tomorrow. You can plan all day God, But the reality is
- 1:10:30what can you do today? So master today and then if the Lord we
- 1:10:36pray allows you to see tomorrow, doing to worry about tomorrow. But in
- 1:10:42the meantime, just thank God for today on one thing that has helped me
- 1:10:46on this journey. And you'll see this if you follow me. I started
- 1:10:54around this time last year. I started a grateful list. So every single
- 1:10:58day in my phone, I'll write down something I'm grateful for every single day.
- 1:11:01And some days, specifically last year, we're so hard that some if
- 1:11:05you look at some dates, they say, I breathe today. That's all
- 1:11:11it is. I breathe today because the day itself was so bad or so
- 1:11:18it went so wrong. So if all I have in my phone is I
- 1:11:23breathe today. I had to be grateful for something every single day. So
- 1:11:27it brought me to a place of humility for the smallest of things. So
- 1:11:30by the time I get to the place where I'm getting salaries and benefits and
- 1:11:35all these extra things. I'm gonna praise them even some more. But I
- 1:11:40was thankful to God for the days I had a PB and J and so
- 1:11:47I can be even that much more grateful for what he's done in excess.
- 1:11:54But I had to bring myself all the way down. So gratitude, humility,
- 1:12:00and taking care of what you need to take care of one day at
- 1:12:02a time is what I would say. Um, and following. You can
- 1:12:09follow me on Instagram and TikTok at. You can call me Rock r a
- 1:12:13c Q. Um. I would get Facebook, but it's better to do
- 1:12:17the other ones, and then um, Twitter is rock said what so our
- 1:12:26a c Q said, wha t um. But those are my platforms.
- 1:12:30But if you go to my Instagram, my link tree is in my bios
- 1:12:33so you can find all my links there. That's the easiest route to get
- 1:12:36all my places. But yeah, that's yeah. The Instagram is a must
- 1:12:42follow, y'all. Like my girl, My girl has a show every week,
