Transcript
- 0:00Hello there, it's time for most things Kenobi.
- 0:04I prefer all things Kenobi, but I suppose that's not the Jedi
- 0:08way. As long as it's not all things
- 0:11Anakin. Hi everyone, welcome to another
- 0:26episode of Most Things Kenobi, a podcast about Obi Wan Kenobi and
- 0:29all things Star Wars. I'm your host, Lauren.
- 0:32And I'm your host, Leanne. And this week we are talking
- 0:35about and or Season 2 the trailer.
- 0:39Hell yeah. It was kind of awesome and I'm
- 0:44glad we didn't record something immediately because now there's
- 0:47also been like an inside look and a live Q&A.
- 0:52So we have lots to talk about here.
- 0:55Yes. In fact, I did not.
- 0:56I was not able to watch the live Q&A because work.
- 1:00So I'm going to come with questions and I can just ask you
- 1:03as if I'm the general audience and you tell me what the Hell's
- 1:07going on. How's that sound?
- 1:09Sounds like a plan. Excellent.
- 1:12There weren't really any like huge revelations in the Q&A.
- 1:17It was Tony Gilroy, and then they had on Genevieve O'Reilly
- 1:21and Adria. Oh my God, I can't remember
- 1:23Bix's actress's last name. Bix.
- 1:26And then the guy who played Melchi.
- 1:29Also, it was cool because it wasn't the actors I necessarily
- 1:33thought it was going to be. So it was kind of like
- 1:34especially of Melchi that that actor got to come back to to his
- 1:39his character after like he had such a tiny part in Rogue One
- 1:45and I love that they chose to bring him back.
- 1:48So yeah, it was cool to see him on the Q&A today.
- 1:50I'm all for it. That's what was discussed.
- 1:53I know we're going to talk about the trailer, but this is
- 1:55basically an and or season 2 free for all episode.
- 1:58I guess 'cause we got a lot of we have a lot of things thrown
- 2:02at us. Yeah, and or wise.
- 2:04It's all coming at the same time.
- 2:06So what was the general gist of the live Q&A?
- 2:09So it was mostly kind of recapping season 1 because they
- 2:14can't really talk about almost anything for season 2.
- 2:18And they showed a few scenes from each actor, like a like one
- 2:22or two scenes that each of the actors had portrayed.
- 2:24And then they talked over them and like talked about them and
- 2:27what was going on behind the scenes or like why those scenes
- 2:31were particularly important. And just some of their
- 2:35experiences on Season 1, but also a bit of Season 2.
- 2:39But again, like, you know, they can't say much.
- 2:41So it sounds like it's going to be devastating for anyone who
- 2:49loves Bix. Oh, I don't.
- 2:53So it's not devastating for me at all.
- 2:55Yeah, it sounds like she and Cassian are going to be in a
- 2:59relationship, which I'm not a huge fan of because I don't
- 3:04think he's good enough for her. He's kind of just an asshole and
- 3:07I think she'd be better off with Brasso, but either way.
- 3:10Well, not only that, but I feel like it's a little bit quick
- 3:13between his relationship with her to his feelings that he
- 3:16develops for Jen. Yeah, and I'm almost wondering
- 3:20if they're gonna try and make a statement that that was not any
- 3:22kind of romantic thing, even though from what I understand,
- 3:25the original right of like, the writing for Rogue One did have
- 3:30the characters fall in love and they cut that out in the editing
- 3:34process, which I do think made the movie stronger.
- 3:37But that chemistry is still there between the characters and
- 3:42the actors, so. It's almost like trauma bonding.
- 3:46Yeah because of the shit that they're literally going through.
- 3:48For sure. They have a a giant respect for
- 3:51each other so I'm fine either way on whatever their verdict is
- 3:54for Cassian and Jen. But I love them and I will
- 3:57always ship them together and I will never support Bix, sorry.
- 4:04Because I think the actress is really talented and I do like
- 4:07Bix's arc in season 1. It'll be interesting to see what
- 4:11happens to her in season 2. Obviously I I mean we can pretty
- 4:14much be sure if she doesn't live right like.
- 4:17Nope, she's out. It doesn't.
- 4:19Make the cut and there's interesting stuff in the trailer
- 4:24that that I see like mirrors of of Rogue One in it.
- 4:30They were talking about that for season 1 as well, like the scene
- 4:33where Cassian and Melchi are on the beach and they're saying
- 4:37goodbye to each other. Tony Gilroy said I didn't write
- 4:40that scene as a mirror to Rogue One, but the basically the
- 4:45director and the cinematographer chose to make it mimic the end
- 4:49of Rogue One. He said they even put the
- 4:52horizon in the exact same spot that it is in Rogue One.
- 4:56Oh. The thing I just love about this
- 4:58show, which we've talked about, is the care that they take.
- 5:02Yeah, they have a. They're thoughtful with just
- 5:05about every single element in that show.
- 5:08It's. So deliberate.
- 5:11Everything is deliberate. I really love shows that do
- 5:14that. I really do, and every single
- 5:17Star Wars fan I know is more psyched for Andor season 2 than
- 5:22like any show prior. Which is.
- 5:25Amazing. Yeah.
- 5:26It's kind of funny because it's also one of the shows I've seen
- 5:30shit talked a lot. I think Acolyte was probably
- 5:33shit on the most but Andor seems to really split people that like
- 5:38people either love it or they just don't and they.
- 5:42Well, you could say that about the Mandalorian too.
- 5:45You could say that about Kenobi. You could say that I don't know.
- 5:47I. Feel like I'm the only person I
- 5:49know who doesn't like the Mandalorian.
- 5:52No, there's, there are people, there are people who are like.
- 5:55Are there Are there more than just me?
- 5:57There there are of the of the people that I know that don't
- 6:00like Mandalorian. It's because they're trying to
- 6:03tie it to to to too many things. Boba Fett, Ahsoka Luke original
- 6:08trilogy this that the other and was very very its own thing.
- 6:13Yeah, it really could stand alone outside of Star Wars.
- 6:17I think it's just so beautifully constructed.
- 6:21And that was the thing, too, that I took away from the Q&A.
- 6:25All the actors were visibly emotionally excited to have had
- 6:31the chance to act that script specifically, they said, like
- 6:37Tony Gilroy as a writer creates characters that are super
- 6:42intense and fun, even though sometimes sad for the actors to
- 6:46portray. And Genevieve was saying that
- 6:49acting man Mothma was like, she said it's very painful,
- 6:54beautiful. And she said it was absolutely
- 6:57like a gift to get to do Season 2 because she said we have to
- 7:01get from where we see her in Season 1 to how we see her in
- 7:04Rogue One, where she's basically an outlaw.
- 7:06Yeah. Oh, I can't wait.
- 7:08Well, and I think, you know, in the trailer, there's the moment
- 7:11where she's very dressed up and there's a party.
- 7:14Clearly I is that her daughter's wedding.
- 7:17That seems to be what the masses are saying, that it's it's a
- 7:21Chandrillin wedding so it would be her daughter's ceremony,
- 7:26which you know that husband is somewhere lurking, being a
- 7:31complete total Dick head. Well, her daughter was kind of a
- 7:37pill also. Well, she's yeah, yeah, she
- 7:39yeah. But I wonder if it's her
- 7:41husband, Mon Mothma's husband that ends up connecting her to
- 7:46ISB and what comes later on. I won.
- 7:50Maybe this too, because obviously her family is not part
- 7:55of the rest of her story. We never have heard of them
- 7:58before. And, or, and even Genevieve was
- 8:01saying like it was actually kind of a wonderful surprise to
- 8:04realize she had a family, even though that's true.
- 8:07They were not a happy family. Does she have to go on the run
- 8:10and abandoned them? And it's not that big of a
- 8:12sacrifice because they seem to hate her anyway.
- 8:14Or they the ones who turn against her and turn her in.
- 8:17It'll be very interesting and probably devastating.
- 8:21So watch it all unfold. There seem to be moments here
- 8:26too in the trailer where you see Cassian really dressed up.
- 8:30Yeah, there's a lot of cloak action in this trailer.
- 8:35It's beautiful. I wonder if that is the wedding
- 8:40sequence or not because. Oh, maybe.
- 8:43There's moments where Chronic is clearly meeting Mon Mothma
- 8:48because in the background is the father of the boy that wants to
- 8:52marry Mon Mothma's daughter. And then there's clearly an ISB
- 8:56officer behind them. So I'm like, wait a minute.
- 8:58Like, Chronic is not ISB. He's a science officer.
- 9:02No, no. But he's there's something
- 9:04there. Why are they all in the same
- 9:06room? I don't know.
- 9:07Don't forget there's there's a money element involved here
- 9:10because that ties Mon Mothma to what's his name.
- 9:14Who's leading the rebels here? Oh, Lutheran.
- 9:17Lutheran, I can never remember. He's my favorite character and I
- 9:21can never remember his fucking name.
- 9:23Scarsgard. That's all that pops into my
- 9:25head. But like, Lutheran, Lutheran's
- 9:28not going to make it out of this season.
- 9:30We know. No.
- 9:32And that's going to be probably the most devastating part of
- 9:35this for me. Like how he goes out.
- 9:37It's got to be with, Oh my God, it's going to, it's got to be
- 9:41with respect and dignity or sacrifice.
- 9:45So that's what I'm hoping for because he's a no nonsense, no
- 9:50bullshit. I will kill myself today to save
- 9:53you tomorrow type of dude. He's already settled on the fact
- 9:57that I'll never get to see the fruits of my labor, but he he
- 10:01doesn't care. Yeah.
- 10:03I love characters like that. I know he's clearly lost a lot
- 10:07but is beyond the grieving part of it like he's.
- 10:10Fully committed, turned bitter and stone cold.
- 10:14Sometimes that's what it takes to lead a group like this under
- 10:18these circumstances is someone who can be detached.
- 10:21You know what I mean? Who who can do what needs to be
- 10:25done and have that detachment from attachment, you know, from
- 10:32caring, caring about the cause, not necessarily the individuals
- 10:36involved in the 'cause you got to be detached and a little bit
- 10:38cold. Yeah, to allow that to happen
- 10:41for sure. They said him, we'll get more of
- 10:44his back story in Season 2. Tony Gilroy was saying that
- 10:49Luthin's history started to reveal itself to him as he was
- 10:52writing Season 2, so even he wasn't quite sure.
- 10:55And now? That's.
- 10:57Exciting new story to go with Lutheran, so I'll be very
- 11:02interested to see how how does like was the antique dealer a
- 11:08specific front he created or was he that already and became
- 11:15radicalized somehow? And had to maintain the facade
- 11:19and continue with the antiques Despite that.
- 11:23Could be either way. And like, how does an antiques
- 11:26dealer overlap a Sau Guerrera? I'm really interested to see
- 11:31more about them because I loved their interactions in season 1.
- 11:35Well, obviously the trailer has the Gorman massacre.
- 11:39Yes, right. It looks like it.
- 11:40Yeah, looks like OK. Yeah, I should say that it it
- 11:44looks like it it's being talked about as possibly being the
- 11:47Gorman massacre. But if you look out, so we have
- 11:51that shot of the dead person on the ground or who looks to be
- 11:54dead, and then there's a bunch of ships, there's an X wing.
- 11:57The middle ship is Zygerian. It looks like what mall was
- 12:03flying around in, right? That too, yes.
- 12:07So like. Yeah.
- 12:08Who else is collecting stuff? It was it really does like like
- 12:12the Sigerian ship. You're right.
- 12:13I I'm mixing up the ship that. The one that Anakin had, the guy
- 12:17with the Saber up to his fucking neck.
- 12:20I love that that ship or, or some type of version of that
- 12:26ship, yeah. Which is really cool.
- 12:28What was that? What's that about?
- 12:30I was wondering is that Sagara is hideaway?
- 12:34It kind of reminded me of what they described in the book Rebel
- 12:38Rising as like Saws secret layer.
- 12:41Oh my God, I didn't think of that.
- 12:43Perhaps, then, fucking Jen is there.
- 12:45Is she not? She shouldn't be at this point
- 12:48in the timeline though, and maybe he's already moved on from
- 12:51that base at this point in the timeline as well, but.
- 12:53Because he's got his his breathing apparatus, which means
- 12:56the accident already happened from Rebel Rising, which means
- 12:58she has been abandoned. God bless her.
- 13:01I wish we could see Felicity in this fucking show.
- 13:06I am holding out hope that we will see her somehow because
- 13:09remember last year or last year, it was years ago now when Season
- 13:131 came out and they put out a trailer, almost all of what we
- 13:16saw was just in the first story arc, maybe the 1st 2.
- 13:21So there seems to be quite a lot in here.
- 13:24But if you look at it, which I have second by second, it's
- 13:29actually a lot of the same stuff but from different angles,
- 13:33you'll realize it's the same building, they're in the same
- 13:37field, whatever. Cuz there's that whole sequence
- 13:39that looks like they're in a wheat field.
- 13:42Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. Which I thought was an
- 13:44interesting parallel to the beginning of Rogue One where
- 13:47Jin's family was. They were in green wheat it look
- 13:50like. Right.
- 13:51Well also it's. It appears as though Brasso is
- 13:53having problems. Yeah, so it looks like Brasso,
- 13:57the boy who, I can't remember his father's name, but remember
- 14:00the guy who was killed by the ISB in Season 1 before they took
- 14:05Bix, he's the one who makes the bomb that he throws at the end
- 14:09of Season 1. So it's Brasso, that boy, Bix
- 14:13and Cassie and are all at that location with the wheat field,
- 14:17But there's also story troopers there and then a TIE fighter or
- 14:21something similar to that stuff. It seems like a lot going on.
- 14:28I get Lafal vibes and yes. Yes, I did too.
- 14:33So isn't there mention of Ezra that Ezra Bridger's speech has
- 14:37given them the ability to? That is in this trailer, is it
- 14:41not? Does he say that?
- 14:42Oh, I don't know. They say because of Ezra
- 14:45Bridger's speech we can now blah blah blah.
- 14:48And I'm thinking holy fuck. I didn't catch that.
- 14:52If that's in there, I didn't hear it.
- 14:54I guess it makes sense that they're working at the same
- 14:56timeline, right? And basically Luthan is kind of
- 15:00trying to combine all these small rebellions into one
- 15:04alliance, right? That's kind of like what he's
- 15:06working towards, which is why he's reaching out to Saw.
- 15:10So there's some sequences in here where it looks like they're
- 15:13actually attacking the ISB building or something.
- 15:17I'm all for, yeah. I mean Deidre looks real
- 15:20stressed in this trailer. She's she does in the list of
- 15:25people who are having a bad day in the trailer, we have Brasso
- 15:30and Deidre and quite possibly Cyril.
- 15:34He doesn't look like he's having a good day, but we he never
- 15:38does. So I don't know if we can call
- 15:39it that. But you know who is having a
- 15:42good day in the trailer? Cyril's mother.
- 15:44I was going to say she looks real happy.
- 15:47She looks real happy, so maybe she got a new apartment after
- 15:49all. She got herself an upgrade.
- 15:51She upgrade. Her son got a job.
- 15:54Looks real. Happy.
- 15:55Tell me it's credit. Hell yes bitch.
- 15:59I was waiting for you to drop. The Cranick is looking every bit
- 16:03of Cranick. He's smug, he's smirking, he's
- 16:08self-righteous, he's got the fucking Cape, he's got that
- 16:13sassy bitch smile going on. Like I got things going on in my
- 16:17life and nobody else does. But he hasn't talked back to
- 16:19Vader yet. So keep smiling, Cranick.
- 16:23I am so fucking excited for Ben Mendelsohn to be back in this
- 16:29role. He looks fantastic in like the
- 16:32five seconds that we got him. I have no doubt he'll he'll, he
- 16:36will bust it out. I have no doubt he will knock it
- 16:39out of the park. It's gonna be amazing.
- 16:41He's such a God. He's such a special character in
- 16:46Star Wars and probably probably cause Ben Mendelsohn made him
- 16:50so. Yes, yes, yes.
- 16:52He's like borderline petulant. Sometimes you're just like, who
- 16:56talks like this? But he.
- 16:58Does yes, you know who would have gotten along with him had
- 17:05they ever met? OK Anakin, Like Jedi Anakin
- 17:12would have gotten along with Chronic, not Imperial Chronic.
- 17:16So like yes, Chronic knows Vader blah blah blah but like Jedi
- 17:20Anakin at his height could quite possibly either have butted
- 17:24heads with him because of two egos, 2 power trips, or they'd
- 17:29have been like in the corner snicker in I don't know.
- 17:32I have a head cannon developing. I need to I need to Polish it,
- 17:34but. Well, I wondered too though,
- 17:36because Anakin and Tarkin definitely fangirled over each.
- 17:40Other so they were there was something there.
- 17:44Tarkin and Chronic hate each other so much.
- 17:46Yes. I think a Big Brother house with
- 17:51all these people in it should happen.
- 17:57Not to get on talk topic, but I think they would do really well
- 18:00on a Big Brother house. For those of you who don't know
- 18:03about Big Brother, it's a show where they cram a bunch of
- 18:05people in close quarters and drama starts because.
- 18:08And they film everything. Yep, just that's the show.
- 18:11Do they? Still do.
- 18:13That is the show, I think. They.
- 18:15Do they? Yeah.
- 18:16I want pantry gas to be in that Big Brother house cuz I really
- 18:21like that guy. I could see that too.
- 18:27He's one of my favorite imperials ever.
- 18:30Just like I when Deidre makes some accusation and he just says
- 18:34thesis please. Like exactly what did you think
- 18:39of the white suited stormtroopers without helmets?
- 18:42Like what? What?
- 18:43What's going on in the hallway there?
- 18:45Yeah, in the trailer, yeah. I have a theory and it's based
- 18:48on nothing. It was just like an instinct.
- 18:50Is it like ISB enforcers? Could be.
- 18:54That's a decent theory. Police type thing because they
- 18:57are wearing like the typical Some of them have stormtroopers,
- 19:01some of them have infantry uniform chest plates, but
- 19:05they're all painted white. But then they don't have
- 19:07helmets. They don't even have the full
- 19:10armor because you can see like their belt is not connected to
- 19:14their armor. It's.
- 19:16And the one guy in the back has a white compression suit
- 19:19underneath where the rest of them usually they all have black
- 19:21or they usually have black. The one in the back has white.
- 19:25One had a cap like a Lieutenant or something.
- 19:28Yeah. I don't know.
- 19:29It's going to be interesting to see what that's all about.
- 19:31But I mean, maybe they're rebels trying to sneak in somewhere and
- 19:35they don't have the full uniform.
- 19:37But there could be that I, I just, it could be anything
- 19:40because I didn't recognize anybody in that shot.
- 19:42Yeah, me either. So it intrigued me.
- 19:44I don't know. Yeah, I wondered too say I had
- 19:48the same question because they all look very severe.
- 19:51They they very do. And they're very serious.
- 19:53Yeah, yeah. But we get Yavin 4 and I'm I'm
- 19:57here for Yavin 4I. Know.
- 20:00I just how happy to see it. It is really fucking weird,
- 20:04right? Yeah, I mean, okay, so there's a
- 20:08real possibility of Leia or Bail or Ghana or hear us and.
- 20:15Like yes. There's a real possibility we're
- 20:18going to get some overlap because we know Chopper was
- 20:20there in Rogue One, we know Harrah was there in Rogue.
- 20:22One So yes, Yep, yeah, I'm so excited.
- 20:27Even if they don't show it, I'm just happy that, you know, our
- 20:30original trilogy planet is is back and better than ever, you
- 20:34know? Yeah, that shot of Cassie and
- 20:37just like strutting through Gavin Ford, I'm like, right, I'm
- 20:40here for this. Yes.
- 20:42Thanks guys. He's doing a lot of strutting in
- 20:45this in this trailer, he's a man on a mission.
- 20:49Nothing but shots of him walking with purpose.
- 20:52Yes. I'm I'm OK with it.
- 20:56Yeah. OK.
- 20:58So do you think any of these women that we see who aren't
- 21:01Bix, are any of them his sister? Oh, I didn't think of that.
- 21:09I didn't even consider. I completely forgot about his
- 21:11sister. They could be.
- 21:13They could be. Because there's a shot of him
- 21:17walking away with somebody I don't recognize, and they blow
- 21:19up. They use like a trigger remote
- 21:21to blow something up in the background.
- 21:23And then there's another shot of him.
- 21:25They're in some windows, face to face, and she grabs him by the
- 21:29lapels and like pulls him like she's angry.
- 21:32And I don't recognize that woman.
- 21:34It could be the same one from the previous shot that I didn't
- 21:37recognize, or they could be different women.
- 21:39We don't know who any of them are anyway, so.
- 21:42Yeah. That would be cool.
- 21:44I'm assuming they're gonna bring that plot line in.
- 21:48I I mean, it's the whole thing that started his journey.
- 21:50Although it could be a Mcguffin. It could be like a total.
- 21:53Although Speaking of Mcguffin, Tony Gilroy did say that the
- 21:58Starpath unit is the official Mcguffin of the whole show.
- 22:02And he's like, it's gonna be part of the show to the very
- 22:05end. It's gonna be.
- 22:06The thing that. Like I assume Deidre is using to
- 22:09basically track all the rebels down.
- 22:12I don't know. Oh my God.
- 22:14And like a Mac Guffin, for those who don't know, is like an
- 22:17important plot piece that's not actually important.
- 22:21It's, it's the thing that will never really need it or use it,
- 22:25but it pushes the plot forward, you know, it's like.
- 22:28I didn't even think of that. It's kind of interesting.
- 22:31It's it's like the thing that started the empire on Cassian's
- 22:35trail. I mean, he killed those
- 22:37officers, but they might not have connected it until they saw
- 22:41the Starpath unit. That's when they realized it was
- 22:43part of like a bigger. Yeah, yeah.
- 22:46I wonder what if it what if it leads to Lutheran's death?
- 22:51Do you think it? Wouldn't be surprised because.
- 22:53He's that would be so bad, That would that would be the
- 22:56devastation that would kill me. Yes, that's what we need.
- 22:59Yep. Yes.
- 23:02You're here for that heartbreak. Well, I'm just thinking what's
- 23:06the most painful route? Yes, that's it.
- 23:09That'll be what it's for. Because you know, Star Wars is
- 23:13pain and, and or is like the most painful because it feels
- 23:18so. Real.
- 23:19I feel like the other shows are a bit glossy so when people die
- 23:24it's sad or whatever. Like even in the original
- 23:27trilogy's it's it's sad, but they do it in a way where like
- 23:31we don't cry over Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru.
- 23:34We breeze by it like it's no big deal.
- 23:36But in Andrew, everything feels very real and like it could
- 23:41happen even though it's it's in Star Wars, but it's just a real,
- 23:45I don't know. These people are very real.
- 23:47They're so well-rounded as characters.
- 23:51The stakes are so high. There's a moment of
- 23:55vulnerability where you're not quite the rebellion yet, but
- 24:01your tiny little factions that are disorganized and you could
- 24:05be found at any moment. One slip up and it's done.
- 24:09You compromise the whole thing. They're in that vulnerable
- 24:12moment where it's not good versus bad yet it's good as
- 24:17intermingling with bad. Nobody quite knows who's in on
- 24:20it yet and and they're figuring it out.
- 24:22And it's this. That's why every, every moment,
- 24:26every decision they make in these two seasons means such a
- 24:31tremendous amount because it all leads to Leia getting that
- 24:34fucking Death Star plan. You know, that's when the the
- 24:39tables really turn. And so, so much loss of life
- 24:42leading up to that moment. It's amazing.
- 24:44But I think we're in it this season.
- 24:47Like this is the the double down.
- 24:50Everyone's gritty getting in it, you know, either you're
- 24:53committed or you're out, that sort of thing.
- 24:56Because the time to choose a side is right now or very soon.
- 25:00And I think they drove that home in Season 1, especially when
- 25:03Luther was talking to to Cassian before he even left his mom and
- 25:07made the decision like he was going to help Luther with the
- 25:10one thing. He's only going to help him with
- 25:12the one task and that was it, right?
- 25:14For money like that's only cared about.
- 25:17And like, this has become so much bigger, and now everyone's
- 25:20realizing it's becoming big. And then we've got all these
- 25:24little factions that are eventually going to come
- 25:26together, quite possibly on Yavin 4 in this season.
- 25:30It's kind of crazy to think about it like this is the dawn
- 25:34of the rebellion. I love this shit.
- 25:37It gives me chills and we get motherfuking K2.
- 25:40SO finally we're going to get the back story.
- 25:42We're going to get the the meeting of that we've all been
- 25:46waiting for. I'm so excited.
- 25:48I saw a little snippet of them behind the scenes of the actor
- 25:52sitting in a cockpit together laughing, and I was just like,
- 25:55oh. Good.
- 25:56Yay, that can only mean more backhands, right?
- 26:02So when you and I saw Rogue One at the theater, it like it gave
- 26:07me a new appreciation for Kay and the way his eyes.
- 26:11Yeah, there it's because there's white or there's like it makes
- 26:16him look like he's not blink, like he he's not blinking.
- 26:21He looks so fucking ridiculous. I want a life-size K2, SO in my
- 26:25house. Oh my gosh they're so big.
- 26:28I saw one at Lucasfilm. They're legit like 8 feet.
- 26:31Tall, but I'm down with him just standing in the corner of my
- 26:33kitchen, like giving me those eyes when I want to do the
- 26:36laundry, but I but I don't and he just backhands me like do the
- 26:41laundry, bitch. Like I would listen to Kay if he
- 26:45did that and he was in my living room, you know.
- 26:47Oh. My God, that's funny.
- 26:50I'm just excited to see him again.
- 26:52Anything with Kay's is wonderful, honest to God.
- 26:56Yeah, I'm thrilled. And there's no B, there's no B2
- 27:00in the preview. I know, I know that I know, I
- 27:03know. I hope that doesn't mean he's,
- 27:05you know, gone. I can't.
- 27:07He might. He might be with Brasso though.
- 27:10Yeah, I would imagine that Brasso would take care of him.
- 27:13I kind of would really love to see any kind of Marva flashback
- 27:18or like reference to Marva because we got no closure and
- 27:23we've talked about it in the past how that like Marva dies
- 27:26off screen. Yeah.
- 27:28And it's basically our experience is like Cassian's
- 27:31experience where like you come back to the character and she's
- 27:34dead. What, like it's basically he
- 27:37went to jail and he could gets out and his mother's dead.
- 27:39He's got there's nothing to do about it.
- 27:42It's just done and. I would fucking love to see
- 27:46Chronic watch her final her final speech.
- 27:49Oh. My God, that'd be awesome.
- 27:52That wrinkle in his forehead would be so damn deep over that
- 27:56he'd probably hate her. And that's why I love her.
- 27:59Yeah, I wonder if we'll see Galen or so since we see
- 28:04chronic. Oh, I know he's fraternizing
- 28:07with all of these people. He's putting on the face of
- 28:11someone who wants to be there. Right.
- 28:15We know this. He lies and makes himself
- 28:17indispensable. Yeah, he goes to functions.
- 28:20He he's invited to the the elite, the top of the top
- 28:24functions and you would think. Yeah, it'll be interesting to
- 28:29see if he gets in there. Even just a reference to him is
- 28:34possible, but if he actually has a scene with Chronic or anything
- 28:38like that would be interesting to see because the Death Star as
- 28:41we know has taken a long time to build, so he's already been
- 28:45working on this project a long time.
- 28:48And Chronic standing there commenting, watching it being
- 28:51assembled or getting towards completion.
- 28:55And I wouldn't be surprised if he's off.
- 28:57He's just off screen. Yeah.
- 29:00I think they're holding a lot of cards.
- 29:03They're, they're holding a lot of things close to their chest
- 29:05on purpose and I like that. Remember for the people who
- 29:09know, when Avengers end game came out, the trailer that
- 29:14finally dropped, it was literally the first all scenes
- 29:17in the trailer were like the first 6 minutes of end game.
- 29:21We got nothing outside of the 1st 6 minutes or whatever
- 29:24arbitrary number it was of end game.
- 29:27And I like that because we're getting a sense of what awaits
- 29:32us, but we're not getting everything that when it comes
- 29:35around, we're like, oh, we already saw that, you know?
- 29:38Yeah, Yeah, Yeah. I think you're right and it
- 29:41would make the most sense also from marketing perspective and.
- 29:45The other people behind and or are smarter than the average
- 29:49bear. You know what I'm saying?
- 29:51Yeah, and they know. They know us.
- 29:53They know we will watch the trailer second by second,
- 29:57looking for every fucking detail path.
- 29:59Yes, we are a little bit obsessive so.
- 30:02I don't care. I love this.
- 30:04I'm so excited for this show. I'm sorry for Chronic and the
- 30:07Cape and Aunt and Cassian's capes.
- 30:11I'm very excited for Cassian and Star Wars Tuxedo.
- 30:14Listen, you're going to be fucking.
- 30:15You need to be resuscitated after every one of these damn
- 30:18episodes, and I don't know if I can keep up.
- 30:20We're gonna need to get an EKG up in this bitch.
- 30:24You know what else though? I'm excited for the outfits.
- 30:27If that is a Chandrillin wedding, it's going to be crazy.
- 30:30I want to see Mom Mothma's attire, what they come up with
- 30:34for her. I want to see the Nitty
- 30:36Gritty's, the Brazos, the Bix's, you know, like the the blue
- 30:39collar, if you will. I want to see Deidre's because
- 30:43the one shot of her looking rather strained with her tight
- 30:45ass bun and, and she's in like a white hallway and stuff.
- 30:48She has like a fucking long trench coat.
- 30:50Like white. Yeah.
- 30:52Listen, I love at this point in the game, the Empire's wardrobe.
- 30:59Their entire like those who get to wear something other than a
- 31:03stormtrooper outfit. They fucking bring it, you know
- 31:07what I'm saying? I prefer their outfits to the
- 31:11Rebels Browns and greens, which I mean, I get it.
- 31:14They're literally doing patches on patches on their jackets just
- 31:18to keep it together. I respect that.
- 31:19But I love a good white Cape. I love a good white trench coat.
- 31:23I love a white over like the one Piece but but Cyril is in all
- 31:27black so he's obviously been promoted and.
- 31:30He's got that weird fucking tie. Yeah, what a hat.
- 31:34At least it's not a bolo tie. It does look like a handle to a
- 31:41suitcase, though. Like I'm not a fan, but it suits
- 31:49him really well. So I'm not a fan of the style,
- 31:52but I think it's a really great design.
- 31:54And actually, Tony Gilroy was talking about, I think is his
- 31:58name, Michael Wilkinson, the guy who did the costumes.
- 32:01In the Q&A today, he said he wanted to call him out
- 32:04specifically and praise him because for the party scene,
- 32:08which he would not call a wedding.
- 32:11He's. Very careful to not call it
- 32:13anything. Of course, he said.
- 32:14Each person was in couture and then they would need barracks,
- 32:21you know, gritty. And he's like, the same man
- 32:24designed them, and then he would have to deliver them to set.
- 32:29There's so much more to it than just designing and then dress
- 32:31everybody and do it like back-to-back on on, like,
- 32:34Wednesday. Thursday.
- 32:35They would have opposite kinds of costumes.
- 32:38And he would come in and costume 1000 people.
- 32:42And it would be incredible. Yeah.
- 32:44I mean, everyone on this show is clearly like the top of the line
- 32:50at whatever they're doing. I love.
- 32:52It so much the I'm just right now I'm just scrolling, just
- 32:56clicking through the trailer on mute and every shot, it's just
- 33:00so fucking intense. You know what I mean?
- 33:03Yeah, like shit's blowing up. People are getting grabbed and
- 33:07tossed and shaken and thrown and they're screaming and it's their
- 33:11store with they got the the riot Shields and shit.
- 33:15Like there's man, this is, this is going to be so good.
- 33:21Unless there anything specific you're really hoping for or that
- 33:25you would predict coming. I'm hoping for gin.
- 33:29Any reference mention a site of Felicity Jones?
- 33:33Anything please? I would.
- 33:36I would take Galen too. I'd rather have gin than like
- 33:39any Rebels reference personally. 100% me too because she's
- 33:43crucial to this. This is.
- 33:45Exactly. This is not a this is not a
- 33:48Rebels tie in or offshoot. This is a Rogue one.
- 33:52If there's going to be an appearance that's kept quiet
- 33:55until it happens, it needs to be gin.
- 33:58It does. Yeah, yeah, I totally agree.
- 34:01I love her character these days. Rogue One, Gin and Cassian means
- 34:05so much to me. I literally have a wooden sign
- 34:09that I bought off Etsy in my cubicle at work that says
- 34:12rebellions are built on hope and I look at it every day and it
- 34:16tells me I have to keep going. So Rogue One is extremely close
- 34:21to me at this point in time. If I were to see Jin, I would
- 34:24cry. It's like seeing Luke in The
- 34:26Mandalorian, you know what I'm saying?
- 34:28Like. Yes.
- 34:30It just means that much to me because her character is
- 34:34important to me. And she's the glue that like
- 34:37solidifies these characters that survive and or into Rogue One,
- 34:42like Cassian and Melchi and whoever else.
- 34:46She's the reason they finished the mission.
- 34:49Yes, right. So there's she's the reason it's
- 34:54called Rogue One, because they went rogue and took the ship and
- 34:59did it themselves. She's ultimately Cranix
- 35:01Downfall, the thorn in his side. God, I want to be her.
- 35:06She had a rough fucking life though.
- 35:09I, I, I respect her for it though.
- 35:11She did what she had to do to survive, and I think that's a
- 35:14theme in Star Wars. And ultimately, even though she
- 35:17was cynical and bitter, she didn't fully lose her humanity
- 35:20at all. She liked to pretend that she
- 35:23had, but she hadn't really. Well, everyone is allowed to be
- 35:26afforded the chance to change, to be inspired by something that
- 35:30changes you for the better. And I think it's a pretty good
- 35:34example of that occurring to see Jen do it.
- 35:37Because there's a lot now in the past and I guarantee in the
- 35:40future that makes people feel bitter and hopeless and fuck it,
- 35:45why bother? It's not going to make a
- 35:47difference, blah blah, blah. And then you're inspired, you
- 35:51change and you do make a difference.
- 35:53That's one of the best themes out there and one that I fucking
- 35:57need right now. So I think, I think you asked me
- 36:00a question 20 minutes ago and I don't know if I'm, if I've
- 36:04answered you, you need to shut up.
- 36:07But yeah, what about you? Do you have something you're
- 36:11hoping for, looking forward to wishing for?
- 36:14Oh my God, I don't I'm not even sure like yes, all the things
- 36:17we've already mentioned basically that's my I don't
- 36:21know. I just don't want them to undo
- 36:23anything I love about rogue one. That's yeah.
- 36:27I think my bigger concern. Like, I, I like going into these
- 36:31shows with no expectation. And even though I love Cassian's
- 36:36character and I love Rogue One, I feel like I can let go of my
- 36:39expectations, but I do not want them to fuck anything up that I
- 36:43love about Rogue One. And they kept saying you'll see
- 36:46Rogue One in a different light. And it's like, I don't really
- 36:48want to. I like Rogue One.
- 36:50It's possibly my favorite Star Wars movie besides Empire
- 36:53Strikes Back. Yeah, we have to just wait.
- 36:56We got to wait and see and cross our fingers and sit and sit
- 37:00there and pant and sweat and sweat it out because they're
- 37:04dropping 3 episodes at a time, right?
- 37:07Yes. So it comes out April 22nd and
- 37:09they're doing 3 episodes every week for four weeks to cover a
- 37:14four year period in Cassian's life.
- 37:16So we've decided we're going to do each week at that time.
- 37:21We won't do the every other week during and or we're going to be
- 37:25very tired. That's OK.
- 37:27We did it for Kenobi. We could do it for and or.
- 37:29Yeah, Tony Gilroy even said he feels bad for the podcasters to
- 37:33have to work on that that schedule.
- 37:36How kind of him to take us into consideration.
- 37:39Thank you, Tony. Yeah, he knows.
- 37:42We, we work hard for them. I'm looking forward to it.
- 37:46But we will cover it in as much real time as possible, so.
- 37:50Yeah, we'll be back every single week during and or releases.
- 37:55I'm looking forward to it. I think it'll be awesome.
- 37:57Yeah, me too. I'm ready.
- 38:04So our question for you all this week, what are you hoping to see
- 38:08in Andorra Season 2? Is there any specific character,
- 38:11a specific situation, scenario that you are looking forward to?
- 38:15Tell us and we will read it on our next episode.
- 38:20And our next episode is all about Obi Wan Kenobi, the
- 38:25negotiator. How did he earn this title?
- 38:29What are the moments that we can see and discuss that makes him
- 38:34the negotiator? I think it's going to be
- 38:35interesting because there are so many moments that we can talk
- 38:38about and it's a unique title. I don't know too many other Star
- 38:42Wars characters, if any, that are known for the things that
- 38:46Obi Wan Kenobi is known for. And I'm not just talking about
- 38:48his beard. I'm talking about his
- 38:52negotiation skills. Doesn't he even get a ship named
- 38:56after him because of that? We'll talk about it.
- 39:00Yeah, Talk about all this and more on our next episode.
- 39:05And Speaking of ships. Yeah.
- 39:09Last week we did an episode about ships and I can't even
- 39:13tell you how many people wrote in and said they thought we
- 39:16meant relationships. Which is hilarious because I'm
- 39:18pretty sure I said twice that we were not talking about
- 39:23relationships, so I'm sorry if I wasn't clear enough.
- 39:29No, I've posted a picture of a ship, a star destroyer and
- 39:33everyone was like I thought it was about shipping ships.
- 39:37Like no, just spaceships. Well, hopefully they liked the
- 39:43episode anyway. I think it was.
- 39:46I actually really enjoyed re listening to it.
- 39:48It was funny. I laughed out loud I don't even
- 39:50know how many times. I love how much we made each
- 39:52other laugh in that. Episode Well, we're going to do
- 39:55more episodes so. Yes.
- 39:58So we asked, at the end of that episode, we asked what are some
- 40:01other ships people would like us to dive into?
- 40:04And Laura said the High Republic Jedi vectors, they are attuned
- 40:08to the Force and are powered by lightsabers.
- 40:11Yes, let's do that one. That's awesome, Kevin asked.
- 40:18Any idea how much a Star Destroyer would cost to build a
- 40:21nonfiction Earth? Money.
- 40:22And I did actually find an article.
- 40:25Oh my gosh, what? What was it?
- 40:27I can't even imagine. There was a Forbes article that
- 40:30said, quote, a Star Destroyer would cost $636 billion to
- 40:36build. OMG.
- 40:43Also it says it would cost $44.4 trillion to get it off of Earth
- 40:51so it could go to Mars. So it's never happening is what
- 40:56you're what you're saying? It can't get through our
- 40:59atmosphere for real. So yeah, no, it's, it's way too
- 41:02big. But then Ben, our friend Ben
- 41:05also sent me that he would like us to dive into the Naboo and
- 41:091:00. Starfighter.
- 41:10There is a schematic for it. I have it.
- 41:13Yeah. That is when we have to.
- 41:16They are so cool how they're designed.
- 41:19Yeah, we need to add that to the list.
- 41:21Yes, Thank you. They're.
- 41:22Kind of reminiscent of if it's the one I'm thinking of, they're
- 41:26kind of reminiscent of like 1950s or even earlier, like the
- 41:30original airplanes that are kind of.
- 41:33They're like rope, the power. Fuse, yeah.
- 41:36Yeah, I'm down. I'm down for.
- 41:37That I think it's really cool. Put it on the list.
- 41:43So thank you to everyone who wrote in, we really appreciate
