Transcript
- 0:25SPEAKER_01: Hello and welcome to the Overclocked Podcast, the best source for OC Remix news that you can listen to at the gym.
- 0:31SPEAKER_01: My name is Zach.
- 0:32SPEAKER_01: This is episode number one, which is the same as the number of PS5 exclusives.
- 0:37SPEAKER_01: This is the December 2024 episode, covering November 2024.
- 0:42SPEAKER_01: Playing in, we had Chillin' with the Bros by Amphibious off the album Apex 2014, a new challenger.
- 0:49SPEAKER_01: Which at this point is a decade old, so maybe we should call it an old challenger.
- 0:54SPEAKER_01: Anyway, let's get right into what was new for November.
- 0:57SPEAKER_01: First up, we have Apparitions from Super Mario World by Chipzilla and Emulator posted on November first.
- 5:23SPEAKER_01: Emulator cites inspiration from the Haunting Synthes in Celeste, I'd imagine from Chapter 3, The Haunted Inn, and I can definitely hear it.
- 5:31SPEAKER_01: Props to chimp and em you for coming up with something spooky from Super Mario World that isn't the Ghost House BGM.
- 5:39SPEAKER_01: Up next, Mind Lost in a Program from Kirby Planet Robobot by Jay and Wake, Ivan Hackstock, and Jabbo.
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: I don't know which it is.
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: People, if I mispronounce your name, let me know, and I'll make sure to get it right next time.
- 10:04SPEAKER_01: This was a dwelling of duels entry from Halmonth.
- 10:07SPEAKER_01: The original track has this sort of jazz adjacent groove to it.
- 10:11SPEAKER_01: And I think the live performance is captured well.
- 13:26SPEAKER_01: If you haven't listened to it yet, go do that.
- 13:29SPEAKER_01: This track in particular, and I'm no music theorist, but I think the technical term for it is sounds like JRPG village music.
- 13:37SPEAKER_01: Very smooth, wistful in a sort of rural way.
- 13:40SPEAKER_01: Makes me want to go buy a better sword, chill at the inn for a bit, and then it takes a turn for a funkier more urban sound, like a larger city in a JRPG, before returning back to its peaceful peasant village roots.
- 13:54SPEAKER_01: Our last new song for the day, we have Anachronistic Axes from Dynasty Warriors 3 by Minus World, Biggeron, and Development of Avoid.
- 14:03SPEAKER_01: Avoid, man, your screen name would be a sick band name.
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: I don't have much to say about this one, it's just good.
- 18:28SPEAKER_01: Also, Biggeron is credited with the key to R.
- 18:31SPEAKER_01: Radical.
- 18:37SPEAKER_01: So here's where I'd put a segment if I had one.
- 18:40SPEAKER_01: I'm recording this in mid-December, and I'm trying to get this episode out quick before my holiday travel.
- 18:45SPEAKER_01: I'll have something for you next month, promise.
- 18:48SPEAKER_01: Meanwhile, if you the listener have an idea for a segment, reach out to me.
- 18:52SPEAKER_01: Not that I have anything actually set up for that right now, I'll get something more official going.
- 18:57SPEAKER_01: In the meantime, I'm Zack on the OC Remix Discord.
- 19:01SPEAKER_01: That's Zack with an exclamation point.
- 19:03SPEAKER_01: If you reach out to Zack Parrish by mistake, tell him that this town ain't big enough for the both of us.
- 19:08SPEAKER_01: That's it for this month's Overclocked Podcast.
- 19:11SPEAKER_01: If you enjoyed it, you're welcome.
- 19:13SPEAKER_01: If you enjoyed it so much that you want to open up your wallet, I don't want anything.
- 19:16SPEAKER_01: I'm just a big OCR fan.
- 19:18SPEAKER_01: If you want to give someone some money, head on over to OCRemix.org and subscribe to the Patreon.
- 19:24SPEAKER_01: Now I'm going to play you out with a little something called the Russian Remix Roulette.
- 19:28SPEAKER_01: This is something the old OG OCR podcast did many, many moons ago, and I'd like to continue it in their honor.
- 19:35SPEAKER_01: If you go to the main page and scroll down to Russian Remix Roulette, you'll see six random songs.
- 19:41SPEAKER_01: I'm going to do that, and then I'm going to roll a six-sided die, or D6, for the nerds, and play whichever song I roll in its entirety.
- 19:49SPEAKER_01: Here we go.
- 19:51SPEAKER_01: Alrighty, that's a two, and we have OCR number 168 Essential Links from The Legend of Zelda by Xen Nexus.
- 19:57SPEAKER_01: Thanks for listening.
- 19:58SPEAKER_01: This is Zach, and until next time, happy remixing.
