- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Second Corinthians eleven Paul and the false apostles.
- 0:07SPEAKER_00: I wish you would be patient with me even when I am a little foolish.
- 0:14SPEAKER_00: But you are already patient with me.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: I am jealous for you with a jealousy that comes from God.
- 0:23SPEAKER_00: I promised to give you to Christ.
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: He must be your only husband.
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: I want to give you to Christ to be his pure bride, but I am afraid that your minds will be led away from your true and pure following of Christ.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: This could happen just as Eve was tricked by that snake with his clever lies.
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: You seem to be quite patient with anyone who comes to you and tells you about a Jesus that is different from the Jesus we told you about.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: You seem very willing to accept a spirit or a message that is different from the spirit and message that you received from us.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: I don't think that those super apostles are any better than I am.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: It is true that I am not a trained speaker, but I do have knowledge.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: We have shown this to you clearly in every way.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: I did the work of telling God's good news to you without pay.
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: I humbled myself to make you important.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: Do you think that was wrong?
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: I accepted pay from other churches.
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: I took their money so that I could serve you.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: If I needed something when I was with you, I did not trouble any of you.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: The brothers who came from Macedonia gave me all that I needed.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: I did not allow myself to be a burden to you in any way, and I will never be a burden to you.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: No one there in Achia will stop me from boasting about that.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: I say this with the truth of Christ in me.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: And why do I not burden you?
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: Do you think it is because I don't love you?
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: God knows that I love you, and I will continue doing what I am doing now because I want to stop those people from having reason to boast.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: They would like to say that the work they boast about is the same as ours.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: They are false apostles, lying workers, they only pretend to be apostles of Christ.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: This does not surprise us because even Satan changes himself to look like an angel of light.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: So it does not surprise us if Satan's servants make themselves look like servants who work for what is right.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: But in the end those people will get the punishment they deserve.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: Paul tells about his sufferings.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: I tell you again, no one should think that I am a fool, but if you think that I am a fool, then accept me as you would accept a fool.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: Then I can boast a little too, but I am not talking the way the Lord would talk.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: I am boasting like a fool.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: Others are boasting about their lives in the world, so I will boast too.
- 4:09SPEAKER_00: You are wise, so you will gladly be patient with fools.
- 4:15SPEAKER_00: I say this because you are even patient with someone who forces you to do things and uses you.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: You are patient with those who trick you or think that they are better than you or hit you in the face.
- 4:33SPEAKER_00: I'm ashamed to say it, but we were too weak to do such things to you.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: But if anyone dares to boast, I will too.
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: I am talking like a fool.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: Are those people Hebrews?
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: So am I Are they Israelites?
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: So am I Are they from Abraham's family?
- 5:02SPEAKER_00: So am I.
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: Are they serving Christ?
- 5:06SPEAKER_00: I'm serving him more.
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: I'm crazy to talk like this.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: I've worked much harder than they have.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: I've been imprisoned more often.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: I have been hurt more in beatings.
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: I've been near death many times.
- 5:25SPEAKER_00: Five times the Jews have given me their punishment of thirty nine lashes with a whip.
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: Three different times I was beaten with rods.
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: One time I was almost killed with rocks.
- 5:42SPEAKER_00: Three times I was in ships that were wrecked, and one of those times I spent the night and the next day in the sea.
- 5:54SPEAKER_00: In my constant traveling I've been in danger from rivers, thieves, my own people, and from people who are not Jews.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: I've been in danger in cities, in places where no one lives, and on the sea.
- 6:13SPEAKER_00: I've been in danger from people who pretend to be believers but are not.
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: I've done hard and tiring work, and many times I did not sleep.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: I've been hungry and thirsty.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: Many times I've been without food.
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: I've been cold and without clothes.
- 6:41SPEAKER_00: And there are many other problems.
- 6:44SPEAKER_00: One of these is the care I have for all the churches.
- 6:52SPEAKER_00: Don't worry about each group of believers every day.
- 6:58SPEAKER_00: I feel weak every time another person is weak.
- 7:03SPEAKER_00: I feel deeply upset every time another person is led into sin.
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: If I must boast, I will boast about the things that show I am not weak.
- 7:17SPEAKER_00: God knows that I am not lying.
- 7:21SPEAKER_00: He is the Father of God, and he is the God and the Father of the Lord Jesus, and he is to be praised forever.
- 7:33SPEAKER_00: When I was in Damascus, the governor under King Eratus wanted to arrest me, so he put guards around the city.
- 7:45SPEAKER_00: But some friends put me in a basket.
- 7:48SPEAKER_00: They put the basket through a hole in the wall and lowered me down, so I escaped from the governor.
