- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome to Dirty Rush, The Truth about Sorority Life with
- 0:04Speaker 1: your hosts me Gia Judice, Daisy Kent, and Jennifer Fessler.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Welcome back to another episode of Dirty Rush. I'm your
- 0:16Speaker 1: host Daisy Kent.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Today.
- 0:17Speaker 1: I'm here by myself, but we're gonna have callers calling
- 0:20Speaker 1: in and we're gonna unveil the secret rules of sorority
- 0:23Speaker 1: girls social media. We were talking to our guests about
- 0:27Speaker 1: what got them in trouble on their social media and
- 0:29Speaker 1: how they knew. Let's get into it. So I actually
- 0:33Speaker 1: went to SCSU as if you listened in before, you
- 0:37Speaker 1: probably know that. But I never got in trouble for
- 0:42Speaker 1: posting anything. I don't think. But I remember when I
- 0:44Speaker 1: was in Alpha Fey at San Diego s if you
- 0:46Speaker 1: posted something that violated the guidelines, they would comment a
- 0:50Speaker 1: purple heart anyone on zech wood and then you would
- 0:52Speaker 1: have to just take it down. So a lot of
- 0:54Speaker 1: times it was like alcohol, or if it was like
- 0:58Speaker 1: a scandalous biki pick, but usually it wasn't anything bad.
- 1:04Speaker 1: I don't think anything like super bad happened when I
- 1:08Speaker 1: was in my sorority. I know though, during recruitment before
- 1:13Speaker 1: we would always go and look at the girls that
- 1:15Speaker 1: were coming in and see who was coming in and
- 1:19Speaker 1: like kind of stalk them honestly figure out how much
- 1:22Speaker 1: we could know about them. So it's definitely I can't imagine.
- 1:26Speaker 1: I mean, I was a freshman and that's crazy in
- 1:31Speaker 1: twenty seventeen, so like nine years ago. So I can't
- 1:34Speaker 1: imagine now how much people probably look at your social
- 1:38Speaker 1: media and stuff, because it's even it was so present
- 1:41Speaker 1: when I was even a freshman, but now, like TikTok
- 1:44Speaker 1: wasn't a thing then, So there's TikTok, and that is
- 1:48Speaker 1: you can see so much about a person on that.
- 1:50Speaker 1: So let's get into it and we'll get some guests
- 1:53Speaker 1: on and see their experience. So our first guess we
- 1:58Speaker 1: have on is Kendall. Hey Kendall, Hi Daisy, how are you.
- 2:02Speaker 1: I'm doing great? How are you doing good? Thanks for
- 2:06Speaker 1: coming on today.
- 2:08Speaker 3: Yes, I'm excited to talk about this because I did
- 2:11Speaker 3: a lot of prep going into college on my social media.
- 2:15Speaker 1: You did for like getting into Storty.
- 2:18Speaker 3: Yeah, I went to the University of Arizona.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Okay, that one's pretty intense. I've heard.
- 2:24Speaker 3: Yeah, did you rush before you like went into syllabus week?
- 2:26Speaker 1: Like before freshman year started or no, ours was like
- 2:31Speaker 1: I think like two weeks into it. I think it
- 2:34Speaker 1: was like halfway through September. We rushed and then we
- 2:38Speaker 1: got our bids end of September, I believe.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Oh wow, okay, ours was kind of similar it was
- 2:43Speaker 3: before we started classes. So I was told that I
- 2:48Speaker 3: really had to, like everyone was supposed to kind of
- 2:50Speaker 3: clean up their social media before rush because in the summertime,
- 2:54Speaker 3: like girls will start to look at future prospects instagrams. Yeah,
- 2:59Speaker 3: and so I made sure I deleted all the alcohol
- 3:03Speaker 3: photos I have, and I remember, even though it was
- 3:07Speaker 3: University of Arizona, I took off like bikini photos.
- 3:10Speaker 1: I archived them.
- 3:12Speaker 3: And I even made like a bio and I just
- 3:17Speaker 3: really wanted my feed to look good. And I was
- 3:19Speaker 3: posting more because I wanted to make sure I was
- 3:21Speaker 3: like being active and I was kind of a little
- 3:25Speaker 3: overboard on it. But then I was told on the
- 3:27Speaker 3: other side of rush, once I was in a sorority,
- 3:29Speaker 3: that you're actually supposed to look at girls' instagrams and
- 3:33Speaker 3: stalk them.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Did you do that when you were on the other
- 3:35Speaker 1: side of recruitment, Yeah, we definitely would, and like see
- 3:38Speaker 1: who was coming in even if it wasn't. I remember
- 3:41Speaker 1: me and my friends, like especially the first day after rush.
- 3:46Speaker 1: I remember going and like looking up everybody I talked
- 3:48Speaker 1: to and just trying to like catch their vibe too,
- 3:52Speaker 1: because you only get to talk to them for like
- 3:53Speaker 1: what like ten minutes maybe right, but I remember doing that,
- 3:57Speaker 1: and then before I remember when we got on the list,
- 4:00Speaker 1: we like looked at which like, I know you're not
- 4:02Speaker 1: supposed to do that, but it definitely is like a thing.
- 4:06Speaker 1: It is a thing.
- 4:06Speaker 3: And I also feel like maybe because I wasn't like
- 4:09Speaker 3: panellenic or president or something, but I never judged if
- 4:12Speaker 3: someone had a red solo cup or a bikini photo.
- 4:16Speaker 1: But you're no. For me, I would be like, oh,
- 4:18Speaker 1: like they like to have fun, yea, make it up
- 4:22Speaker 1: fun other ways. But like I don't know, but I
- 4:25Speaker 1: think it a lot of it has to do like
- 4:26Speaker 1: with a sorority, like keeping like a good image. I
- 4:29Speaker 1: have no idea, but that's true. Did you ever post
- 4:32Speaker 1: anything in college that you had to take down?
- 4:35Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 4:35Speaker 1: I mean I would.
- 4:36Speaker 3: Well, we would always like be extra and photoshop if
- 4:40Speaker 3: there was like a wine bottle on the table behind us,
- 4:44Speaker 3: but there were a lot of times where it was
- 4:45Speaker 3: an Instagram story and we would get taggs and things
- 4:47Speaker 3: and obviously want to repost it, so like not much
- 4:50Speaker 3: you can do. I think I got sent to standards
- 4:53Speaker 3: maybe like three times.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Were you scared the first time?
- 4:59Speaker 3: No, because so I'm like, this is so dumb, and yeah,
- 5:03Speaker 3: you know I was. I was studying abroad when this happened,
- 5:05Speaker 3: and I'm not even like in the house, and I'm.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Okay, they are broad. There should be like an exception, right, yeah,
- 5:12Speaker 1: because you can like drink in most places when you're
- 5:15Speaker 1: like eighteen, right, Yeah, I know that's so crazy.
- 5:19Speaker 3: I know it's so crazy, but I know nowadays social
- 5:22Speaker 3: media is a lot, you know, more involved in people's
- 5:25Speaker 3: lives than it was when I was in college.
- 5:27Speaker 1: But yeah, that was my experience. Did you know, like
- 5:29Speaker 1: who you wanted, like what house you wanted to be
- 5:32Speaker 1: in before you did it? Yeah.
- 5:34Speaker 3: I don't know if that's like a good thing or
- 5:35Speaker 3: bad thing, but there was definitely like three houses. I mean,
- 5:38Speaker 3: I feel like everyone's this way three houses that I
- 5:40Speaker 3: was like I have to be in.
- 5:42Speaker 1: I want to be in so bad. Yeah, and it
- 5:44Speaker 1: worked out. But I got lucky when you got sent
- 5:48Speaker 1: to Sanders. Was there like any punishment or anything you got?
- 5:51Speaker 3: They claimed I couldn't go to like the next date dash,
- 5:55Speaker 3: but I think they forgot because I did go.
- 5:57Speaker 1: To the next stage. That's good. That seems like a
- 5:59Speaker 1: drastic pun I know. But also I don't know about you,
- 6:03Speaker 1: but our date dashes weren't actually that fun. Oh ours
- 6:06Speaker 1: were so fun, I'm jealous mine was not. And then
- 6:11Speaker 1: I remember sometimes if people got sent to standards, they
- 6:14Speaker 1: would make them be like sober sisters, so like they
- 6:16Speaker 1: couldn't drink at it.
- 6:17Speaker 4: What?
- 6:18Speaker 1: Yeah, when did they actually follow through with that? I
- 6:22Speaker 1: think most people did for like the date dash, because
- 6:24Speaker 1: I think they were kind of like so scared of
- 6:26Speaker 1: what would happen if they didn't. But then after that
- 6:28Speaker 1: everyone will go out to like the parties and.
- 6:30Speaker 3: Stuff, And I feel like before date dashes is when
- 6:33Speaker 3: people usually got in trouble for social media because they
- 6:35Speaker 3: were like posting the pregames and there was alcohol involved.
- 6:38Speaker 1: And that was a no no. Yeah for sure. If
- 6:43Speaker 1: I'm back in Cane.
- 6:44Speaker 5: What a time.
- 6:45Speaker 1: I would do anything to be back right. Well, thank
- 6:49Speaker 1: you so much for coming on, of course, Thanks Daisy. Okay, guys,
- 6:53Speaker 1: I have Savannah on Now. Hey Savannah, Hi, So where
- 6:58Speaker 1: did you go to school?
- 7:00Speaker 2: I went to school in Texas, which was really fun.
- 7:03Speaker 2: I loved Texas. It was a big like change of
- 7:06Speaker 2: scene for me being from California. I feel like they
- 7:09Speaker 2: definitely do things differently in Texas, but oh, really fun
- 7:14Speaker 2: for your experience.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Yeah, did you have going into like recruitment. Did you
- 7:19Speaker 1: have like did you go through social media and like
- 7:21Speaker 1: take anything off or did you know a lot about rush?
- 7:25Speaker 2: I mean I feel like you always hear like some
- 7:27Speaker 2: people are super stressed about it and they're telling you
- 7:29Speaker 2: to do like a million things. Then you hear like
- 7:30Speaker 2: the people that are like, wait, you don't need to
- 7:32Speaker 2: like touch your social media.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:34Speaker 2: I feel like my social media was always very clean,
- 7:36Speaker 2: just because I cared about like farther from like recruitment,
- 7:40Speaker 2: just like yeah, that's a good reputation. But I remember
- 7:44Speaker 2: I had a photo with one of my friends who
- 7:46Speaker 2: was a year older and was in the sorority. I
- 7:49Speaker 2: wanted to go, and my mom was like, you have
- 7:52Speaker 2: to remove that or the other sororities are going to
- 7:54Speaker 2: drop you. And she probably was right because oh that
- 7:57Speaker 2: is smart. Yeah, Like if I was like another swored
- 8:00Speaker 2: you'd be like, well, obviously she's gonna go this one
- 8:02Speaker 2: because she has photos with a girl who's literally like
- 8:05Speaker 2: on the private team. So I remember I had to
- 8:08Speaker 2: take that one down. But that was like the only
- 8:09Speaker 2: kind of like cleaning up I did. I know there's
- 8:11Speaker 2: like a lot of disgust between like going private or public,
- 8:15Speaker 2: though on your social media.
- 8:17Speaker 1: There is I feel like I haven't heard that. What
- 8:19Speaker 1: have you heard about that?
- 8:20Speaker 2: I just feel like some people were like it's better
- 8:22Speaker 2: to be private because then if they were quest you,
- 8:24Speaker 2: that means like they're like interesting.
- 8:26Speaker 1: So they like want you.
- 8:28Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 8:28Speaker 2: But then I also heard that like if you're public,
- 8:31Speaker 2: then it like gives them like the like the optional
- 8:34Speaker 2: like stock you. But then like some people that's why
- 8:36Speaker 2: you should stay private. I feel like that was like
- 8:38Speaker 2: an interesting thing I thought about.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like do you want to say like mysterious
- 8:43Speaker 1: or not?
- 8:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know, Like I still don't know the
- 8:46Speaker 2: right answer.
- 8:47Speaker 1: And then how about when you were in your sorority,
- 8:50Speaker 1: was there any guidelines to what you could post and
- 8:53Speaker 1: not post?
- 8:54Speaker 2: For us, it was just like obviously if you're under
- 8:57Speaker 2: twenty one, no alcohol like period, and then if you
- 9:01Speaker 2: were like of the age of twenty one. They just
- 9:03Speaker 2: wanted you to be like posting like classy, like nothing
- 9:06Speaker 2: like unclassy, but you could like post technically.
- 9:10Speaker 1: What would they do if like you had to take
- 9:12Speaker 1: it down like mine? They would comment a purple heart emoji,
- 9:16Speaker 1: like someone on Exact would that's so interesting, how about you?
- 9:20Speaker 1: Like was there anything?
- 9:22Speaker 2: They just would DM you and like be like take
- 9:25Speaker 2: it down, and like, I feel like some girls like
- 9:28Speaker 2: you always like the Exact picking was like sometimes it
- 9:30Speaker 2: would be like such like chill girls who were like
- 9:32Speaker 2: your friends and like they didn't really care. And then
- 9:35Speaker 2: sometimes I just feel like girls on EXAC it was
- 9:37Speaker 2: like some of them not everyone like kind of a
- 9:39Speaker 2: power trip. So they would like use it to like.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Yeah, and they just want to like boss people.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Yeah, boss you around. And I remember when I was
- 9:45Speaker 2: on recruitment team, they like literally were making me. I
- 9:48Speaker 2: remember I posted a photo and it was like a
- 9:49Speaker 2: styrofoam cup and it had like the cutest little like
- 9:53Speaker 2: logo on it. It was like pink and purple, like
- 9:55Speaker 2: it could have been water. It probably wasn't water, but
- 9:57Speaker 2: it could have been water. And they were like this
- 9:59Speaker 2: needs to come down, right, now like super upset about it,
- 10:02Speaker 2: and I'm like, it's a white styrofoam cup, like it's
- 10:04Speaker 2: not even clear, and so sometimes I just felt like
- 10:07Speaker 2: it was like a lot. But yeah, I get it.
- 10:10Speaker 2: I get it being on like the other side.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Yeah, oh that's for sure. Do you think like looking
- 10:16Speaker 1: at social media when you went into college, did you
- 10:19Speaker 1: look at the different sororities at your school once you
- 10:21Speaker 1: knew what school you were going to.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I think I followed them all, even like the
- 10:26Speaker 2: ones I didn't have interest in, because like I think
- 10:28Speaker 2: I just like heard that you were supposed to because
- 10:30Speaker 2: you didn't want to like not follow the ones you
- 10:33Speaker 2: were interested in. I feel like that's just a bad
- 10:35Speaker 2: look across the board.
- 10:37Speaker 1: Did you end up going in the one that your
- 10:38Speaker 1: friend was in?
- 10:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I did, but it's still good. I took down
- 10:43Speaker 2: the photo.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Oh it makes sense.
- 10:45Speaker 2: Oh yeah, no, but I was open. I was open,
- 10:48Speaker 2: but it was like good to like have it removed
- 10:51Speaker 2: so that there was like no issues with it.
- 10:54Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Did you ever get in trouble or sent to the
- 10:56Speaker 1: standards or anything.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Never got sent to standards, thank good. But yeah we
- 11:01Speaker 2: got in trouble for like weird stuff. I remember like
- 11:04Speaker 2: when I lived in the house, there was like a
- 11:07Speaker 2: study room and we got all these like dispo photos
- 11:10Speaker 2: from someone's camera and she like had a bunch of
- 11:12Speaker 2: printed so we're like, let's hang them in the study room.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Like they were all like at football games, like very mellow,
- 11:18Speaker 2: and we literally all got like a talking too, because
- 11:21Speaker 2: there was again styrofoam cups, which I.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Was like, it was just like those styrofoam cups, and.
- 11:26Speaker 2: It was like clear cups, like of course if it's
- 11:29Speaker 2: from the styre yes literally and I'm like, of course,
- 11:33Speaker 2: if like there's a logo on a can, like we
- 11:35Speaker 2: would not put that up in the house. But like
- 11:37Speaker 2: it was like lear cups that were probably water like.
- 11:39Speaker 2: We were like, but no, we were in a lot
- 11:42Speaker 2: of trouble for that, and like I'm trying to think
- 11:45Speaker 2: the other time I got in trouble. Oh, we like
- 11:48Speaker 2: we were at a birthday dinner and it was like
- 11:49Speaker 2: one of those dinners we have to like hit a minimum. Yeah,
- 11:53Speaker 2: they like got a bottle because they had hit like
- 11:54Speaker 2: two grand at this dinner, and we walked into the
- 11:57Speaker 2: house with it and we were like eating cake, like
- 12:01Speaker 2: no one was drinking the bottle was sealed shut, and
- 12:03Speaker 2: like we all like people I think got abs, Like
- 12:06Speaker 2: we are like kind of like ra person walked in
- 12:09Speaker 2: and like was like, you guys are drinking and the
- 12:11Speaker 2: bottle was not open, but.
- 12:13Speaker 1: We actually haven't opened it.
- 12:14Speaker 2: It's just being so calm and just eating cake. But
- 12:18Speaker 2: thank you for ruining that.
- 12:20Speaker 1: I know it is. I can't even imagine, like now
- 12:22Speaker 1: how much like they dig into people's social media is.
- 12:27Speaker 2: It's just getting bigger and bigger.
- 12:29Speaker 1: Yeah, even with like followers and stuff too. Like I
- 12:31Speaker 1: feel like the scale of like people having followers now
- 12:36Speaker 1: to like when I was in like starting college is
- 12:41Speaker 1: like way like bigger, you know what I mean.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Yeah, And I feel like when I was going through recruitment,
- 12:46Speaker 2: like every sorty had a social media but it was
- 12:49Speaker 2: very like mellow. But now like yeah, sorties at my school,
- 12:52Speaker 2: like is lit are like influencers and like they have
- 12:55Speaker 2: this huge following and I'm like, I wonder if that
- 12:58Speaker 2: like switches people's perspective on wanting to go that swarty
- 13:01Speaker 2: based on like the social media following of the Instagram,
- 13:04Speaker 2: which is so interesting. It is like all the recruitment
- 13:08Speaker 2: videos are such a big thing now.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Yeah, like watching them and all the dances and everything. Yes,
- 13:13Speaker 1: I'm like I would be the one in the back
- 13:15Speaker 1: like holding the post.
- 13:16Speaker 2: For exactly exactly just leaving the armstock and forth.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, thank you so much for coming on today.
- 13:25Speaker 2: Of course, thanks for having me.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Have a great rest of your day. Thank you. All right.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Our next caller we have is Emma. Hey, Emma, Hi Daisy,
- 13:35Speaker 1: how are you? I am doing great? How are you
- 13:37Speaker 1: doing good? I'm so happy to be here.
- 13:40Speaker 6: I have some funny stories from social media because I
- 13:45Speaker 6: felt like it was very relaxed in my sorority.
- 13:49Speaker 1: Oh I love that.
- 13:50Speaker 6: Also, going into my sorority, I didn't even know that
- 13:54Speaker 6: like cleaning up your social media was a thing. I
- 13:56Speaker 6: already I had like a very clean feed anyways, but
- 14:01Speaker 6: like I was definitely a bikini girl.
- 14:03Speaker 1: I was like the same way. I also like I
- 14:05Speaker 1: had no idea really what a sorority was. I ye,
- 14:09Speaker 1: maybe because I'm from like the middle of nowhere in Minnesota,
- 14:12Speaker 1: but I had no idea. My roommate made me sign up,
- 14:16Speaker 1: and then I remember going to the first house and
- 14:18Speaker 1: everyone was dancing and seeing I was like, yeah.
- 14:23Speaker 5: I didn't know that.
- 14:24Speaker 6: Like I like looked at the sorority's instagrams and I
- 14:28Speaker 6: was like, oh, this is so intimidating.
- 14:30Speaker 5: But I didn't do it.
- 14:31Speaker 6: I didn't follow any of them. I didn't know what
- 14:33Speaker 6: any of them meant. I knew that I like wanted
- 14:35Speaker 6: to go a certain direction because I knew someone.
- 14:38Speaker 1: In the sorority.
- 14:39Speaker 6: Yeah, but I definitely didn't clean mine up. And I
- 14:42Speaker 6: think that girls are now posts. I think bikini pictures
- 14:46Speaker 6: are completely fine.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:48Speaker 6: I loved a good bikini.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Pop for sure, because I was from California. Where did
- 14:52Speaker 1: you go to school?
- 14:53Speaker 6: I went to school in Colorado. Oh cool and weirdly enough,
- 14:57Speaker 6: you know, there's no beaches there. But everyone was always
- 14:59Speaker 6: in a bikini on their insta.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Yeah. I like in college, everyone's in a bikini. Like,
- 15:04Speaker 1: no matter where you are.
- 15:06Speaker 6: Yeah, our formals wear bikinis.
- 15:09Speaker 1: Yeah, where would you go with formals?
- 15:11Speaker 5: You could go to Aspen?
- 15:12Speaker 1: Oh fun?
- 15:13Speaker 6: And so like our sorority instagram was like, yeah, our
- 15:17Speaker 6: sisters are hat formals and it's like us in bikinis.
- 15:20Speaker 6: So I always thought the bikini thing was just silly.
- 15:23Speaker 6: Oh but who ran our socials, which was actually my
- 15:26Speaker 6: really good friend Greta. She's the one posting she was
- 15:30Speaker 6: the one commenting on people's pictures, selecting like the sorority spotlight,
- 15:37Speaker 6: and so she was in full control of the Instagram.
- 15:41Speaker 6: For our spring break, we went to Jamaica and took
- 15:46Speaker 6: lots of bikini pictures.
- 15:47Speaker 1: That's like a random spot I feel like to go
- 15:50Speaker 1: on college.
- 15:50Speaker 6: Spring break, I know, but it was so much fun.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Okay, that's great. I mean, I'm sure it would be
- 15:56Speaker 1: a time.
- 15:57Speaker 5: It was.
- 15:57Speaker 6: It was the best. It was kind of like staying
- 15:59Speaker 6: in my Mexico, but it was like completely different vibe.
- 16:02Speaker 6: Not a lot of people there, so it was like
- 16:03Speaker 6: our group of twenty went there. That's so Red died
- 16:06Speaker 6: about lots of bikini pictures and so fast forward. She
- 16:13Speaker 6: my friend Greta is browsing. She always makes people like
- 16:17Speaker 6: send in pictures. I didn't send in any picture to
- 16:20Speaker 6: be featured on the Instagram, but I was at home
- 16:24Speaker 6: and Greta posted a picture of me and my good
- 16:28Speaker 6: friend and our entire crotch was out in our bikini,
- 16:34Speaker 6: missing our sisters. Hope everyone's having a good spring and
- 16:38Speaker 6: I chat lit up and they're like, oh my god, Greta,
- 16:41Speaker 6: what the what the fuck is wrong with you? Why
- 16:44Speaker 6: did you just post their crotches on Instagram. And she
- 16:46Speaker 6: was like the sweetest girl ever. She's like, oh my god,
- 16:48Speaker 6: I didn't even notice, Like I kid you not.
- 16:51Speaker 1: Like, oh oh my god, were you like so upset?
- 16:56Speaker 6: It was hilarious. I mean we're like, Greta, can you
- 16:59Speaker 6: take it down?
- 17:00Speaker 5: I mean it's just like.
- 17:00Speaker 6: All girls that follow the Instagram, So it's fine. But
- 17:04Speaker 6: our sorority, truly, I don't think really cared about social media.
- 17:08Speaker 1: It was just like mar Chill that way.
- 17:10Speaker 6: Yeah, I don't. I don't think I was ever. No
- 17:14Speaker 6: one ever commented on my Instagram. Our code word was bibbs,
- 17:18Speaker 6: bring it back sis bibbs.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Wait, that's kind of cute.
- 17:22Speaker 6: Yeah, but I didn't have any friend, Like, no one
- 17:26Speaker 6: cared at all. Yeah, that's why I didn't know that
- 17:29Speaker 6: like cleaning up your social media was a thing and
- 17:31Speaker 6: now either like young rushies.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I never had anything like bad on my social
- 17:39Speaker 1: media or like no alcohol either, because my mom was
- 17:43Speaker 1: always like telling me not to post that stuff. But
- 17:48Speaker 1: it was interesting like getting into college, because I feel
- 17:51Speaker 1: right when I got into college, it was like the
- 17:53Speaker 1: era where like social media like really started like having
- 17:56Speaker 1: a really big presence and people were like using it
- 17:59Speaker 1: for like jobs and like their life.
- 18:04Speaker 6: Yeah, it seem like actually making money off of social media.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like crazy to even where we're at now,
- 18:12Speaker 1: like people making social media on it. Like to see
- 18:14Speaker 1: in like the next ten years how much it evolves.
- 18:18Speaker 6: Well, like what if you're one of those really cool
- 18:21Speaker 6: people that don't have social media and you're you're only
- 18:25Speaker 6: a cool person, but they like only keep track of
- 18:28Speaker 6: people with social media. I guess then they would be
- 18:30Speaker 6: way too cool for the sorority. But like, yeah, it's
- 18:33Speaker 6: interesting how it's kind of it's kind of like having a.
- 18:35Speaker 1: LinkedIn Yeah college, Yeah for sure. Well, thank you so
- 18:41Speaker 1: much for coming on. Yeah of course, Hi Daisy, Howie,
- 19:01Speaker 1: thank you for coming on. Zoe.
- 19:04Speaker 7: Hi, I'm Zoe and I went to school in a
- 19:09Speaker 7: big school in Los Angeles and our sorority we had
- 19:16Speaker 7: a really young house mom, and so sometimes she let
- 19:20Speaker 7: things fly that maybe wouldn't fly in other houses.
- 19:25Speaker 1: And I love that. How old was she about?
- 19:28Speaker 7: She was twenty five, like she had graduated college and
- 19:31Speaker 7: then was our was our house mom, so I.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Had to have been like fifty fifty dibsh.
- 19:37Speaker 7: Oh my gosh, Okay, So that was normal. That was
- 19:39Speaker 7: like every other house on the road. But so she
- 19:43Speaker 7: would let something slide in the house, like certain pregames
- 19:46Speaker 7: before events and whatever. But the number one rule was
- 19:50Speaker 7: always that you can't post anything on social media, yeah,
- 19:55Speaker 7: because then we could seriously get busted and then it
- 19:57Speaker 7: would all go away. And I remember that we had
- 20:02Speaker 7: a tradition of every year before our we called it
- 20:05Speaker 7: Crush our crush date party. It like went around Valentine's
- 20:08Speaker 7: Day and it was basically where each girl would invite
- 20:12Speaker 7: their crush they had put down on a list, like
- 20:15Speaker 7: you know, a range of like three different crushes and
- 20:17Speaker 7: their phone numbers, and then our social chair would then
- 20:20Speaker 7: reach out to them and so and they would go
- 20:23Speaker 7: to the venue separately from the girls, and so all
- 20:25Speaker 7: the girls would choke together and then all the crushes would.
- 20:27Speaker 2: Show up at the venue together.
- 20:28Speaker 1: That's fun.
- 20:30Speaker 7: And so girls would really want to get get some
- 20:33Speaker 7: liquid courage in themselves before showing up to the venue.
- 20:36Speaker 1: And so every year we would they know who it
- 20:38Speaker 1: was going to be before they showed up. No, you
- 20:41Speaker 1: didn't know what if like we wanted the same guy though,
- 20:44Speaker 1: and then like I should have it with him, But
- 20:48Speaker 1: then they actually appeared me with a different guy.
- 20:51Speaker 7: Yes, that would happen, and it would be like if Daisy,
- 20:54Speaker 7: you were older than me, you would be like higher
- 20:56Speaker 7: up on the list. And then I think it would
- 20:58Speaker 7: be like an alphabetical thing. So two girls wouldn't be
- 21:01Speaker 7: inviting the same guy. Each girl got their own or date,
- 21:04Speaker 7: Each girl got their own crush to go, so you
- 21:07Speaker 7: didn't know exactly unless they had told you, but you
- 21:10Speaker 7: didn't know if it was you then invited them or not.
- 21:12Speaker 7: And everything was like a secret. It wasn't a public sheet.
- 21:15Speaker 7: So also stay we would do a pregame at our
- 21:20Speaker 7: sorority house prior to the date party, and the number
- 21:26Speaker 7: one rule was that we all nobody could post or
- 21:32Speaker 7: take a single video at this pregame or else it
- 21:35Speaker 7: would all go away and we would girls would get
- 21:38Speaker 7: very drunk and they we would make like this jungle
- 21:42Speaker 7: juice at the house. Jungle juice so fun for everyone
- 21:46Speaker 7: to do. But there was the way that we would
- 21:51Speaker 7: coordinate this because we also didn't like want a paper trail,
- 21:54Speaker 7: as we had this private Facebook group and like nobody
- 21:58Speaker 7: uses Facebook anymore, and we would have this private Facebook
- 22:03Speaker 7: group where everybody would like discuss the details of the
- 22:08Speaker 7: pregame that was happening because it couldn't be on like
- 22:10Speaker 7: our sorority chat.
- 22:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 22:13Speaker 7: And then I remember I was a junior and we
- 22:16Speaker 7: had had like three years of this going on where
- 22:20Speaker 7: no one had found out. Girls and other storties didn't
- 22:22Speaker 7: find out because if they saw something on social media
- 22:25Speaker 7: that this was going down, they would report it to
- 22:28Speaker 7: their house moms or whatever and be like, why can't
- 22:30Speaker 7: we do this? Yeah, so, and it was also only
- 22:34Speaker 7: girls in the sorority were allowed, like even if even
- 22:37Speaker 7: if your date going to day party was a girl,
- 22:40Speaker 7: she could not be allowed to come. And I remember
- 22:43Speaker 7: one year one of my best friends got really drunk
- 22:46Speaker 7: and ended up posting something to not just like her
- 22:49Speaker 7: Snapchat private story, but her Instagram story, and it was
- 22:53Speaker 7: a video of the pregame going on, and she was
- 22:56Speaker 7: like I love these ladies, they're my sisters, like something
- 22:59Speaker 7: like that.
- 23:00Speaker 1: And that probably does around so fast, Oh my gosh,
- 23:03Speaker 1: so fast, especially it's on your public Instagram story.
- 23:07Speaker 7: And it was flagged pretty instantly by our EXEC because
- 23:14Speaker 7: they're members of EXEC that like weren't allowed to go
- 23:17Speaker 7: to the party because they had to make sure like
- 23:18Speaker 7: everyone was going to stay safe and get all the
- 23:19Speaker 7: asses okay and whatever. And she not only was like
- 23:25Speaker 7: in so much trouble internally with the sorority, but it
- 23:29Speaker 7: was also just like so much shame because this was
- 23:31Speaker 7: like a sacred pregame that nobody could know about and
- 23:37Speaker 7: it was like one of my good friends and she
- 23:39Speaker 7: like it ended up the next year we like were
- 23:41Speaker 7: able to do it because it was just too risky
- 23:43Speaker 7: and it was honestly too risky regardless. But yeah, she'll
- 23:47Speaker 7: forever go down as the one who the one who
- 23:50Speaker 7: pre crushed the crush pregame.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Oh that's such a bummer. It's like fun to doing
- 23:57Speaker 1: something like that.
- 23:58Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean it was memories. Were those of us
- 24:02Speaker 7: that had memories of the night. We were so much fun.
- 24:05Speaker 7: But it was something we just knew was bound to
- 24:08Speaker 7: with social media, it's.
- 24:10Speaker 1: So usual, like, well it lasted.
- 24:13Speaker 7: Yeah, it was fun.
- 24:14Speaker 2: Well it lasted.
- 24:15Speaker 7: But no, we weren't able to do it senior year
- 24:17Speaker 7: because yeah, she kind of ruined it for the rest
- 24:20Speaker 7: of us, but it was kind of bound to happen.
- 24:22Speaker 1: Did you before you went into school, did you like
- 24:25Speaker 1: clean up your social media at all or anything, or
- 24:27Speaker 1: was it just like you didn't even think about it
- 24:30Speaker 1: kind of or didn't have anything to clean up.
- 24:33Speaker 7: I definitely remember like really cool, like, well, I guess
- 24:37Speaker 7: I didn't really have that much alcohol my senior year
- 24:39Speaker 7: of high school, but if I had a red solo
- 24:40Speaker 7: cup in something or whatever, I would make sure that
- 24:44Speaker 7: I that I took that out. I remember trying to
- 24:48Speaker 7: post more just like good photos of myself and make
- 24:51Speaker 7: myself look fun and bubbly and pretty and like like
- 24:54Speaker 7: I have a lot of friends and whatever, because I think, yeah,
- 25:00Speaker 7: and you think of the when you're like does this
- 25:02Speaker 7: really matter? Okay, I'll just do it just just to
- 25:04Speaker 7: be safe, and then you do kind of realize when
- 25:07Speaker 7: you're on the other end of it and Rush, that
- 25:10Speaker 7: people do look at that, but you can't if you're private.
- 25:14Speaker 7: Maybe I did go public before Rush, because if you're private,
- 25:18Speaker 7: then no one could see anything that you have on there.
- 25:23Speaker 7: I feel like I shaped up my Instagram too, more
- 25:26Speaker 7: like for other girls who were going to be in
- 25:28Speaker 7: my you know, just like going into college you wanted
- 25:32Speaker 7: you know, that's like someone's first impression of you a
- 25:35Speaker 7: little bit before.
- 25:36Speaker 1: You could meet them at school. Yeah.
- 25:38Speaker 7: So, and I felt like everyone was following each other
- 25:41Speaker 7: once you knew that you got in and you're posted
- 25:43Speaker 7: on like the well like a minute for sure accounts
- 25:48Speaker 7: or whatever.
- 25:49Speaker 1: I remember even like posting in like a Facebook, like yeah,
- 25:53Speaker 1: when I was like trying to find my roommate and
- 25:55Speaker 1: I knew you'd like post like a few pictures of
- 25:58Speaker 1: you be like looking for a roommate.
- 26:02Speaker 8: Yeah, I remember that so well.
- 26:04Speaker 1: About thinking as I ended up with my roommate and
- 26:07Speaker 1: she's like now my best friend, like forever?
- 26:09Speaker 7: Did you find her on Facebook?
- 26:10Speaker 1: Yeah? We found each other on Facebook.
- 26:12Speaker 7: Okay, me too, I found and we're best friends still.
- 26:15Speaker 7: But that's I do think there's something to the Facebook groups,
- 26:18Speaker 7: like right you find.
- 26:19Speaker 1: Like usually that doesn't happen like usually. I think I'm
- 26:22Speaker 1: the only one out of like my whole entire friend
- 26:25Speaker 1: group who ended up being like best friends with their
- 26:28Speaker 1: really really yeah friend group. But we I do feel
- 26:31Speaker 1: like stuff too.
- 26:32Speaker 7: But yeah, I do feel like that's pretty rare. But
- 26:38Speaker 7: it's so special. She going to be Is she going
- 26:40Speaker 7: to be in your wedding?
- 26:42Speaker 1: Yeah? She's made of honors. I have four Madive honors,
- 26:45Speaker 1: but she's one of them. Oh my gosh, you have four? Yeah?
- 26:48Speaker 1: I was like my wedding to do whatever I want
- 26:51Speaker 1: to do.
- 26:52Speaker 8: I love it.
- 26:53Speaker 7: Oh my gosh, that's so great.
- 26:55Speaker 1: Well, thank you so much for coming on.
- 26:58Speaker 2: Thank you, thank you so much for having me da.
- 27:00Speaker 1: Okay, guys, we have our next caller in. This is McKenna. Hey, McKenna,
- 27:04Speaker 1: thanks for coming off. How are you. I'm doing so good.
- 27:08Speaker 1: How are you?
- 27:09Speaker 5: I'm good?
- 27:10Speaker 1: Okay, So today we're talking about like social media guidelines
- 27:14Speaker 1: for sororities. Let's start off with did you ever go
- 27:18Speaker 1: like before you went into a sorority, did you look
- 27:21Speaker 1: at their instagram and did you like clean yours up
- 27:23Speaker 1: or anything?
- 27:24Speaker 9: Oh my gosh, I stalked all of the instagrams, okay,
- 27:28Speaker 9: sororities before, and I made sure to follow all of
- 27:32Speaker 9: them because I heard all of this stuff beforehand about
- 27:34Speaker 9: they'll see and you're following if you don't follow ones,
- 27:37Speaker 9: and then that'll give you a bad look. And so
- 27:40Speaker 9: I made sure to follow like everyone. And I was
- 27:42Speaker 9: always liking all of the posts before.
- 27:45Speaker 1: That's like such a true thing. Like when I was
- 27:50Speaker 1: going and like talking to a girl.
- 27:52Speaker 9: Always thought that if I liked it, they're gonna notice
- 27:54Speaker 9: that I liked it. And then they're gonna No, that's
- 27:58Speaker 9: so funny but like so real.
- 28:00Speaker 1: And then did you get once you got in a sorority?
- 28:04Speaker 1: Did you ever get in trouble for posting anything?
- 28:07Speaker 9: Okay, so I didn't get in trouble. What my friends did.
- 28:09Speaker 9: It was freshman and it was one of my friends.
- 28:13Speaker 9: We were all in the same sorority, and we went
- 28:15Speaker 9: to my friend's birthdays and we went wine tasting and it.
- 28:19Speaker 2: Was freshman beer.
- 28:20Speaker 9: So we were not twenty one yet, but it was
- 28:24Speaker 9: right around when we thought that like wine glasses were
- 28:26Speaker 9: so aesthetic and cute.
- 28:28Speaker 1: Also that's like so fun honestly that there's something about
- 28:31Speaker 1: being like right about to turn twenty one and just
- 28:35Speaker 1: like holding the wine glass.
- 28:37Speaker 9: Yeah, and it's like even in any of the pictures,
- 28:40Speaker 9: it's like the tiniest pore ever because it's a tasting obviously.
- 28:43Speaker 5: But I remember we all like I.
- 28:45Speaker 9: Posted something and I didn't tag where we were at,
- 28:48Speaker 9: but then a few of my friends like tagged like
- 28:50Speaker 9: blank winery and then they got a DM from the
- 28:53Speaker 9: Instagram saying like NOP in all caps like notp which
- 28:59Speaker 9: I did like know any of I think that there
- 29:01Speaker 9: was some sort of like training I was supposed to do.
- 29:04Speaker 5: To know what that acronym not meant. I had no
- 29:07Speaker 5: idea what it meant.
- 29:08Speaker 9: I thought that they were like spelling Nope, wrong, and
- 29:11Speaker 9: so I was just like, they don't even know what
- 29:13Speaker 9: it's like.
- 29:13Speaker 1: Nope. Maybe it could have been that. Was it always
- 29:17Speaker 1: your sorority that would DM you? Or would it ever
- 29:21Speaker 1: be the girls on exec that would like comment or
- 29:23Speaker 1: DM you about it?
- 29:25Speaker 9: So it was the I always thought I ended up
- 29:28Speaker 9: being the manager of our social media later on, which
- 29:32Speaker 9: is like funny, but what is funny? I always thought
- 29:35Speaker 9: that it was the VP of Marketing and PR that.
- 29:39Speaker 5: Said it through the account.
- 29:41Speaker 9: Actually it was for us, it was the VP of
- 29:43Speaker 9: standards and so that member of it would go in
- 29:47Speaker 9: and then basically anything that had anything they deemed like
- 29:50Speaker 9: not our pillars.
- 29:51Speaker 5: It would be like, I'm so now I'm not.
- 29:55Speaker 1: That's funny. And then when you because you said you
- 29:58Speaker 1: knew a lot about sororities and stuff before you went
- 30:01Speaker 1: through a groupment, We're like, looking at all their instagrams?
- 30:04Speaker 1: Did the instagrams and social media influence what house you
- 30:09Speaker 1: wanted to be in?
- 30:11Speaker 9: I had a really like set mindset going in because
- 30:16Speaker 9: one of my best friends from home.
- 30:18Speaker 5: It was a year above me was in a certain.
- 30:19Speaker 9: One, and so I did not make sense really open mind,
- 30:22Speaker 9: but I always sort of knew I was gonna go there,
- 30:25Speaker 9: but definitely looking around the instagrams and honestly, like seeing
- 30:30Speaker 9: all the comments like that really piqued my interest to
- 30:33Speaker 9: like see which ones had people actually interested, like the
- 30:36Speaker 9: members actually commenting and like seeming like they had.
- 30:39Speaker 5: A lot of fun and like a big community.
- 30:42Speaker 9: So that made me want to join one of over another,
- 30:45Speaker 9: just to make it seem like they really had like
- 30:47Speaker 9: a tight knit group that actually hung out and liked
- 30:49Speaker 9: each other and stuff like that.
- 30:51Speaker 1: I will tell you there is nothing like I remember
- 30:54Speaker 1: when I got to college and I joined my sorority
- 30:57Speaker 1: and like the first pick I threw up like that,
- 31:00Speaker 1: It's probably the most comments on an Instagram post I
- 31:02Speaker 1: had ever got in my life. It was crazy, like
- 31:06Speaker 1: my had to be skybalcketing.
- 31:09Speaker 9: The first time I got posted on the like social media,
- 31:13Speaker 9: the sorority social media, I was like starstruck. I was like,
- 31:17Speaker 9: no way they write this account.
- 31:21Speaker 5: It's so funny.
- 31:22Speaker 1: It's such a fun thing though, honestly, but it's crazy
- 31:26Speaker 1: to think about now, Like we have, like social media,
- 31:29Speaker 1: and it like impacts so much, and like even back
- 31:32Speaker 1: to when like our parents were in school, like it
- 31:34Speaker 1: didn't play an aspect of it. So that's so interesting
- 31:37Speaker 1: to think about.
- 31:39Speaker 9: You know, I met my roommate on social media before
- 31:41Speaker 9: she DMed me and now we've been in my peas.
- 31:44Speaker 1: Yeah, do you think your sorority was like more strict
- 31:48Speaker 1: than other sororities are like the same?
- 31:51Speaker 5: No, I feel like it was less.
- 31:54Speaker 1: At least.
- 31:55Speaker 9: I mean maybe I played a role into that because
- 31:58Speaker 9: when I was on the when I was in charge
- 32:00Speaker 9: of it, I.
- 32:01Speaker 5: Didn't really get more relaxed.
- 32:04Speaker 9: People would post a photocircle type thing to get posted
- 32:07Speaker 9: on the Instagram, and if it was honestly crazy, like
- 32:10Speaker 9: some of the freshmen would post pictures from like frat
- 32:13Speaker 9: parties on it with drinks in their hand and expect
- 32:15Speaker 9: that to get posted on like our official account.
- 32:19Speaker 5: And I was I would always see that and I'd
- 32:21Speaker 5: be like, what are you like? What are you thinking?
- 32:22Speaker 5: I can't post this? You're eighteen? You know. I would
- 32:26Speaker 5: never say anything to them.
- 32:28Speaker 1: Yeah, Well, thank you so much for coming on with Kenna.
- 32:32Speaker 5: Yeah, thank you.
- 32:33Speaker 1: Have a good rest of your day.
- 32:35Speaker 2: Hi, you too.
- 32:35Speaker 4: Bye.
- 32:50Speaker 1: We now have Lauren on Hey Lauren, Hi Daisy, how
- 32:54Speaker 1: are you. I'm doing great? How are you doing good?
- 32:58Speaker 8: I have a story about social media.
- 33:02Speaker 1: Oh I can't wait to hear. We're all about social
- 33:04Speaker 1: media today. So I'll just let you take it away.
- 33:07Speaker 8: Okay, this just like to this day is the most
- 33:13Speaker 8: stupid thing that happened at my sorority. I think it
- 33:15Speaker 8: was so blown out of proportion.
- 33:17Speaker 1: So I'll tell you.
- 33:19Speaker 8: In college, my sorority, they were like normal strict about
- 33:23Speaker 8: social media posts, like they didn't want alcohol on your page.
- 33:27Speaker 8: They were like kind of weird about bikini picks if
- 33:29Speaker 8: they were too scandalous, and like they would kind of
- 33:32Speaker 8: leave comments and stuff. If you posted something, they'd leave
- 33:38Speaker 8: like a purple heart and they'd just be like, that's
- 33:40Speaker 8: how you need to delete it, or they'd swipe up
- 33:42Speaker 8: on an Instagram story. And girls were always trying to
- 33:46Speaker 8: test the limits and like put an emoji over a
- 33:49Speaker 8: red solo cup or photoshop it out, and sometimes they
- 33:52Speaker 8: catch it. Sometimes they wouldn't like it felt like it
- 33:54Speaker 8: was pretty standard. But one year when we went through
- 33:59Speaker 8: our luck and like got all the new people on
- 34:02Speaker 8: exec and got a new social media manager. Okay, there
- 34:06Speaker 8: was just one girl that came in, and it sucks
- 34:09Speaker 8: because she ran the instagram really well. It looked stunning,
- 34:13Speaker 8: but she was so strict about getting people in trouble
- 34:18Speaker 8: and it's like she wanted to get people in trouble.
- 34:21Speaker 8: It was just strange. She was on some sort of
- 34:23Speaker 8: power checks. But anyways, one of my friends like would
- 34:26Speaker 8: make tiktoks all the time, and she did this video
- 34:29Speaker 8: that was like a day in my life for sorority formal,
- 34:32Speaker 8: So she like took you throughout her whole entire day.
- 34:34Speaker 8: And then there was a bunch of clips of a
- 34:36Speaker 8: group of us at formal, and because we were at
- 34:40Speaker 8: our sorority's formal, there were like twenty girls form my
- 34:42Speaker 8: sorority in this video. Yeah, and she was really careful
- 34:45Speaker 8: not to put alcohol in or anything because she was
- 34:47Speaker 8: like really trying to be an influencer. Like she took
- 34:50Speaker 8: these videos really seriously, so she didn't want to take
- 34:52Speaker 8: it down and she had a lot of followers, and
- 34:54Speaker 8: so anyway, she throws up the video. The next day,
- 34:58Speaker 8: we're at chapter in the social medium manager gives us
- 35:01Speaker 8: her update in the meeting and starts going on this
- 35:04Speaker 8: tangent about how she keeps busting all of these girls
- 35:07Speaker 8: were posting alcohol and like just being really agro about
- 35:10Speaker 8: it and quite frankly just rude to everybody, and.
- 35:13Speaker 1: Everybody's kind of like, what's going on.
- 35:16Speaker 8: But then the next or that afternoon, I guess, like
- 35:20Speaker 8: right before chapter she had compted a purple heart on
- 35:23Speaker 8: the video that my friend threw up that I like
- 35:25Speaker 8: put up there that I was talking about, and we
- 35:28Speaker 8: watched it over and over, just being like, why would
- 35:31Speaker 8: she put this on there?
- 35:32Speaker 1: There's no alcohol.
- 35:32Speaker 8: We couldn't figure out what was wrong with it, and
- 35:35Speaker 8: so she just decided to ignore it. She was like,
- 35:37Speaker 8: this must have been a mistake. Then all twenty of
- 35:41Speaker 8: us girls or however many it was, got called into standards,
- 35:44Speaker 8: and nobody knew why. We're so confused. We get there
- 35:48Speaker 8: and they're like it's because or before they were like
- 35:51Speaker 8: it's because of this video, and we're like, what is
- 35:55Speaker 8: wrong with this video?
- 35:55Speaker 2: We could figure it out.
- 35:57Speaker 1: I feel like that's a thing like standards does. Sometimes
- 36:00Speaker 1: you don't know why you're getting called in, but you
- 36:02Speaker 1: get caught in.
- 36:03Speaker 8: It's so drama, like they just want to scare you.
- 36:06Speaker 8: So anyways, we get in there and they told us
- 36:10Speaker 8: that it was because the background music in the video,
- 36:14Speaker 8: like the music that they were playing at formal, in
- 36:16Speaker 8: the background in the video had profanity. And we were like,
- 36:20Speaker 8: that's it. You played that music at your own formal.
- 36:24Speaker 1: Yeah, like you guys were in charge of playing the
- 36:26Speaker 1: music were so stupid.
- 36:28Speaker 8: And they tried to argue it, but since we had
- 36:30Speaker 8: so many people, we were kind of able to argue
- 36:33Speaker 8: our case back and just be like, you guys are
- 36:35Speaker 8: the ones playing the music. And there was this whole
- 36:38Speaker 8: drama and all these calls and text to figure out
- 36:40Speaker 8: who had ox at the party and who was playing
- 36:43Speaker 8: the profanity.
- 36:44Speaker 1: That's absurd.
- 36:45Speaker 8: And then we got profanity banned from our formals so
- 36:49Speaker 8: we couldn't post it on social media like we had,
- 36:51Speaker 8: so all of the songs had to be the clean version.
- 36:54Speaker 1: That's just like so ridiculous, that's so funny, Like I
- 36:59Speaker 1: like the college. So literally last night me and Thor
- 37:03Speaker 1: were looking through like DJs and bands that our wedding
- 37:06Speaker 1: player said to us, and we really really loved one
- 37:10Speaker 1: of the bands, but they wouldn't swear anytime it likes
- 37:14Speaker 1: so weird. They would say something else or just like
- 37:16Speaker 1: pause and like keep going, you know how they like
- 37:18Speaker 1: do on the radio. More was like I was like,
- 37:21Speaker 1: I like love them, I think they're great or whatever
- 37:23Speaker 1: and thorgas I do, but can we make sure they
- 37:27Speaker 1: like actually swear?
- 37:30Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 37:30Speaker 1: I was like, no, it's so true.
- 37:33Speaker 8: It's just crazy that it was such a big deal
- 37:34Speaker 8: because like, I don't think swearing is a big deal.
- 37:36Speaker 1: Yeah, we're big kids. Yeah. So then did you guys
- 37:39Speaker 1: end up did you end up getting like a punishment
- 37:42Speaker 1: or no?
- 37:42Speaker 8: Thank god we didn't, but I guess the punishment was
- 37:46Speaker 8: like taking away profanity from our music that we would
- 37:49Speaker 8: play out formals, which is like kind of lame, but
- 37:52Speaker 8: it's not an actual punishment. It just the whole thing
- 37:54Speaker 8: was very drawn out and dramatic for I think zero reason.
- 37:58Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure. Well, thank you so much for coming on.
- 38:03Speaker 8: Of course, thanks for having me.
- 38:05Speaker 1: Okay, thanks for tuning in to Dirty Rush. We hope
- 38:08Speaker 1: you enjoyed this episode. The next episode, we will be
- 38:11Speaker 1: talking more about social media presence online and more all
