- 0:08[SPEAKER_01]: Remember, Broncos Country is not a geographical location.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_01]: It's a state of being.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_02]: Good evening, Bronco's Country, and welcome into a special solo edition of the Mile High Huddle Podcast.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_02]: I am one half of your football priest, Zach Calberman on back for my little break, and I'm sitting in, as I said, solo today, Chad, who's out.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_02]: It's gonna be a very fast pay show.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna cover a lot of ground very quickly, and I'm gonna make it as entertaining as possible for y'all because I missed you guys.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_02]: It's been a while.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_02]: It's been, it's felt like a year since I've talked with you.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to just get to this really quickly.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_02]: I see Sam already got into the action before we even went live.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_02]: Sam, bam, $20, super.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much, my friend.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_02]: He says, even exact, got to get off to a meeting here.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_02]: So wanted to get my super chat in before I leave.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_02]: Hope you had a good fourth.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_02]: I did.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_02]: Hope you did as well.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_02]: Hope you all did.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't get to tell you with that beforehand.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_02]: So hope you all had a great and healthy happy fourth.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_02]: Scott crushed it last night on the podcast.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure he did.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, 10 weeks from today when the, the Broncos stomped Kansas City, go Broncos.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_02]: Sam and everybody else in Broncos country.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_02]: 10 more Mondays.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I noticed my connection is buffering a little bit, which is weird because I'm on the top tier in a net.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_02]: So hopefully it's not being too finicky for you.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_02]: I see Scott saying I'm locking up.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_02]: Hopefully it gets better.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_02]: Let me turn my wife out.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe that'll help real quick.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_02]: Got to love live live potting.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_02]: Got to love stream yard when I get back into potting for the first time in a week.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_02]: So.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_02]: Hopefully there's no more technical difficulties.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_02]: I do apologize about that.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_02]: I can't really upgrade my internet anymore that I did, but anyway, I'm going to get into the first topic right off the bat.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to keep you waiting.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_02]: I will say hello to a few people in a second.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to do it a little differently than we do it normally with Chad.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_02]: So the one of the topics that you saw previewing the podcast tonight was ESPN got it wrong about the Broncos worst offseason move.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_02]: And the article is up if you want to read it on the website.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_02]: But I'll spoil it for you guys.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_02]: This is really quickly.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_02]: The worst move the Broncos made according to ESPN, ESPN analyst Seth Walder is the JK Dobbins deal.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_02]: The two-year contract for JK to return to the Broncos through 2027.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_02]: That's what it says on paper, but everybody else knows that it's really basically, and Scott has talked about this a lot.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_02]: We've talked about this a lot.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_02]: It's basically a one-year contract.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_02]: They probably want to see how JK responds to his injury ruined season.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_02]: If he stays healthy, of course we know he's a top 5 top 10 at worst running back.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_02]: He was the fifth overall leading rusher in the league before he suffered his season ending foot injury.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_02]: So I'll give you the blur because I want to refresh myself as well.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_02]: This is what Seth Walder said in arguing why it was the Broncos worst off season move.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_02]: quote, after getting oh so close to the Super Bowl in 2025, you could argue that Bo Nixon's postseason ankle injury was the reason they didn't make it.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, that is the reason they didn't make it.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_02]: There's no argument about it, it's just a reality.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, the Brock was made a few tweaks, but mostly returned the same squad for the 2026 season.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_02]: The team also resigned Dobbins on a two year 16 million dollar contract with $8 million guaranteed and overpay for an injury prone 27 year old back.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_02]: Now, when I hear the term overpay, I think, well, who is the arbiter deciding what's an overpay and what's not?
- 4:02[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's subjective.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_02]: Depending on your viewpoint, depending on if you cover the team every day, if you cover the team on a national basis, or if you have any sort of bias against or for the team, it's really all about perspective.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_02]: you can call it an overpay if you look at it like a two-year contract with eight million guaranteed.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_02]: But when you boil it down like I said earlier, it's basically a one year eight million dollar fully guaranteed contract.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_02]: And we'll see what happens in 2027.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_02]: They are guaranteeing JK Dobbins' return for 2026.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_02]: He's going to be locked in as the RB1 as long as he stays healthy.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_02]: And I think for that for what you'd be getting for what possibly he can bring to you this season, which is, again, top five rushing potential, I don't think a one year eight million dollar deal, even if fully guaranteed, wasn't over pay for JK.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_02]: And that's me saying that I differ from Chad a little bit in the sense that I'm
- 5:00[SPEAKER_02]: I like JK a lot, but it's almost a matter of when not if he's going to go down.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_02]: I know Chad is holding his breath and we're all crossing our fingers that the training regiment and Denver for the second consecutive offseason will keep him healthy, he's motivated to stay healthy, he's talked about that, the team has talked about that, but that's great and all, it's not going to really matter if a safety comes flying and it takes out an ACL
- 5:27[SPEAKER_02]: Because, unfortunately, that's the rap on JK Dobbins.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_02]: That's what we've been accustomed to if you followed his NFL career, either in Baltimore with the Chargers.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_02]: Now, with the Broncos, tremendous player when he's healthy.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_02]: But the problem is, and I've said this like a billion times this offseason,
- 5:46[SPEAKER_02]: He is so rarely healthy.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_02]: It was to the point where like I I was upset that he got taken out by the Raiders last year But I wasn't surprised.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, okay.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_02]: Well RJ Harvey's up.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_02]: Let's see what he can do is RB2 or RB1 now.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_02]: Excuse me
- 6:01[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't know, like, if I would call that the Broncos worst offseason move, then again, with the offseason the Broncos had, I don't think you could even identify a worst move.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_02]: What, signing Tyson Anderson, a special teamer, the only outside edition the Broncos made.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_02]: So who is it Seth Walder?
- 6:22[SPEAKER_02]: I do think he's being a little nitpicky.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_02]: I I'm sure he had to come up with the worst move for every team.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_02]: And let me tell you something it's hard enough to cover one team this time of year.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_02]: I could only imagine covering all 32 NFL teams.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_02]: in early July.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_02]: You're going to have to reach.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_02]: You're going to have to stretch.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_02]: You're going to have to really, you know, turn yourself into a mental pretzel to come up with some of this content.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_02]: And that's exactly what I think Walter did here.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know that, again, you can call a JK Dobbins an overpay when you look at it for what it is, which is the one of your contracts.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_02]: He framed it because he wanted to bolster his point.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_02]: He framed it as a two-year contract.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_02]: And in that sense, okay, well, you're committing two years, even though only one of them is guaranteed
- 7:13[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, you can argue, maybe it's an overpay.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think it is for what he can bring for you, for what he's already done for you.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_02]: I think it was a pretty fair contract.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_02]: And again, that's from someone who's not exactly like a JK Dobbins full true through at all.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_02]: I see, though, speak of the devil, speak of my part here, Chad, hopping in $1 super.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much, my brother, Zach, I miss your musk looking forward to seeing everyone soon, miss you too, Chad, we've talked offline as well, I hope you're enjoying your break.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_02]: I hope you've had a good fourth my friend and happy to hold it down for you and miss you as well.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see you all soon, like together.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_02]: We'll be back in action, no more breaks, no more vacations, training camps around the corner.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_02]: Chad and I are going to be locked in for the whole season.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to be amazing, but um like like he mentioned actually before I went on mine, this is the time of year now.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_02]: So you're going to see random combination solo pods, solo Scott pods, solo Zach pods, solo Chad pods.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_02]: It's just it is what it is.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_02]: So hope you guys are enjoying, but appreciate you as always Chad.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_02]: All right, where was I?
- 8:18[SPEAKER_02]: I was ranting about Seth Walder.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, well, you know what?
- 8:21[SPEAKER_02]: Actually, I don't wanna take too long before the check gets too live.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_02]: Let me just address some of these comments.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_02]: David, Yunkin, as always, a deer member hopping in ESPN has lost all credibility in trying to make an informed decision.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, well, I don't know what's informing them except for maybe desperation and their own internal bias toward all things Broncos because they are really stretching calling JK Dobbins
- 8:46[SPEAKER_02]: Again, objectively a top 10 running back when he's healthy, calling him the worst move of the offseason is a little much for me.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_02]: But that that's ESPN for you.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_02]: Chase Wellner, MHH, right back at you, dad and you up as well, Chase.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you for joining me this Monday evening.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_02]: David Maccharath, good evening.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_02]: Broncos Country, hashtag and 14 and 3 plus plus plus plus plus plus.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much, David, for that as always.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_02]: You can know how to get the pod started in your own style.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_02]: They got germane from the 315.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_02]: Hello, everyone.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_02]: Go Broncos.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_02]: Hello, germane.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_02]: Hope you're doing well this evening.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_02]: What is this from David so Seth sits behind a desk and tries to analyze players you can't analyze a player behind a desk.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_02]: You know what it's funny that you say that David because I brought this up to Scott right before we went on or I went on and
- 9:33[SPEAKER_02]: I really hate, and you guys know by now, I really hate the way that these analysts look through football in a metric or data or just a numbers viewpoint.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_02]: They watch the game on an Excel spreadsheet, and you just can't do that.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_02]: I don't care.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_02]: what your phony stats have to say, what the eye test said to me and what the stat box showed was that JK Dobbins was a damn good running back for you.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_02]: He knows the system.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_02]: You already insured yourself by drafting Jonah Coleman to go with RJ Harvey.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_02]: but he's looking at it through a prism of numbers and at that he's inflating the numbers to make his argument look better calling it a two-year deal mentioning the guaranteed money.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_02]: He didn't mention it's basically a one-year eight-million-dollar contract and when you see the deals that other running backs around the NFL got including Travis CTN including Kenneth Walker.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_02]: where they overpace, they play the same position, some of them have injury concerns, some of them have durability concerns, and fumbling concerns, no player is perfect.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_02]: You can nitpick any contract, any player, and any team.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_02]: I just find it crazy, and I'm ashamed to say as someone who sought for the first time, what the topic was about in real time, on the shame that they're reaching that heart, but I'm not surprised.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not surprised, David, because like you said, they sit behind a desk, they look at their numbers, and these numbers that were created out of thin air, and then they go off that.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_02]: There's no objectivity.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_02]: It's all subjective.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_02]: Test prep.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_02]: I wish Troutman was a resigning instead of a resigning.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_02]: That's funny.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_02]: I co-sign that 100%.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_02]: I do wish he retired, or, you know, just like,
- 11:20[SPEAKER_02]: Not only are we stuck with Troutman, that's the worst part.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_02]: Not only are we stuck with Troutman again, but we're stuck with him on a three-year contract.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_02]: And to be fair, just like I said with JKH, probably not gonna last the full length of the three years, but like, why?
- 11:35[SPEAKER_02]: Why?
- 11:36[SPEAKER_02]: I still wonder why.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_02]: I still wonder what photo Schrautman has of Greg Panner or Sean Payton or George Payton.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_02]: I don't understand the utility of a jack that you can find on the street.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_02]: You can go to your local JuCo and find an ad in Trauma.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_02]: But yet they gave him a three-year deal.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_02]: That's a Sean Payton blind side.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_02]: That's a Sean Payton red flag.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't have many.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_02]: But his loyalty to mid players is definitely one of them.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_02]: Adam Trowman, Alex Singleton, Lil Jordan Humphrey.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, you gave him throw in Michael Burton.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_02]: Look, they picked up Adam Prentice off the street.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_02]: No one except for his parents knew who Adam Prentice was and yet he performed just as good as Michael Burton did.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_02]: That's a Sean Peyton blind spot, but I fully agree with you.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_02]: It gets me so hot, man.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_02]: It gets me so angry.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_02]: Talking about Adam Troutman.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know why.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know why.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_02]: There's probably something to unpack there, mentally, but let me go through some of the other comments.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_02]: I do see this from Vin.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_02]: Pastilla digital 99 cent became a member as well.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much, Vin.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if you were.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_02]: You went by a different name.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_02]: I don't recognize you, but regardless, I appreciate that super.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_02]: I appreciate that 99 cents.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_02]: Listen, It could be a penny.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_02]: It could be 99 bucks.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_02]: It could be anything.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_02]: Every every cent right now, every one's dollars and money is so harder.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_02]: So we appreciate all the generosity.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_02]: You better believe that.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_02]: uh Ronny says Tyler Algear was there too.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_02]: He got a decent deal and Scott says Algear got 6.1 million per with 8 million guaranteed.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_02]: You know Algear though is someone that I actually really wanted the Broncos to go after.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_02]: I think
- 13:20[SPEAKER_02]: Algeria is a tremendous player and he's going to be a really good RB1 for quite a few years.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_02]: First, long as, you know, the running back shelf life, the, the, the merry-go-round goes on for him.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_02]: He had a ton of talent in Atlanta and he was just stuck behind B. Jean.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_02]: Same thing for Zack Charbon A and Seattle.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_02]: When, if he ever gets a shot and I know he won't now because of, they, they drafted jadarian price, but another guy that's just, with stuck behind somebody else, that though is like a different skill set when you're talking about Algeria or TGK Dobbins.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_02]: J.K. Dobbins is like the workhorse, like the early-down banger, like think of him like CJ Anderson.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_02]: Tyler Elsier is a much, much, much better version of what Devonse Booker, if you guys remember him.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_02]: used to be.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_02]: He's a better version of what RJ Harvey is.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_02]: He's a better version of what for now, Jonah Coleman is.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_02]: Tyler Algier is more of a dynamic player than JK Dobbins, but I think JK on a down-by-down basis is a more consistent player if that makes sense.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_02]: Both are good for what they do.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't want the Broncos to make him an offer.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think they went anywhere near him.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_02]: That's a good price tag for him.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_02]: But again, it's a separate argument, Ronnie, because we're not talking about Algear.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_02]: We're not talking about Seth Walters, opinion about Algear.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_02]: We're talking about his opinion of JK Dobbins, which I think is a little, I don't know, a little hyperbolic, if that's the word.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_02]: All right, let me give a few more.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_02]: What is this?
- 14:41[SPEAKER_02]: For a martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin martin mart
- 14:51[SPEAKER_02]: Martin, I don't know if it's Martin or Martin.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's Martin.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's Martin.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_02]: So I appreciate you, Martin.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not going to try to butcher your last name.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_02]: That's a newer name, though.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_02]: And I haven't been around Martin for the last week.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_02]: So forgive me.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_02]: If I don't recognize you, if you've been newer around here, we do encourage you to become a member.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_02]: We have exclusives.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_02]: It's it's very much worth it.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_02]: But we appreciate your comment.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_02]: Signing Dobbins wasn't our worst move, not signing a proven veteran running back was I'd be much more comfortable if we would have signed Tyler else year along with Dobbins.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_02]: Now we have to hope Coleman hits.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I mean, realistically Martin, you pretty much had money or the Broncos.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_02]: Remember, if you remember back to the reports that came out at the time, the Broncos had like a, a little mini salary cap for what they were going to spend at the position.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_02]: And all they wanted to spend was JK Dobbins money.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_02]: So what I mean by that is they had one little splurge to make.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_02]: They were never going to make two on the open market.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_02]: It was going to be Dobbins or Tyler Ralshier.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_02]: It was never going to be both.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_02]: But like you said, and this is why I think the Broncos were smart and doubling down, Jonah Coleman could eventually be what Tyler Ralshier is now, which is,
- 16:01[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I think he could be more of a JK Dobbins, but he can be a someone that makes plays out of the backfield as a, as a past catcher.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_02]: He's, he's, he's a good and past pro.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, he's explosive as a runner.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_02]: So they got kind of the off-brand Tyler Algier in drafting Jonah Coleman.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_02]: And in that sense, they saved a lot of money.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_02]: So that work around, I think, made a lot of sense for him.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_02]: Todd Austin, Dorf, appreciate seeing you, ma'am.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_02]: The real question is whether or not you think the Broncos would have been paying for Kenneth Walker at around 12 million per year.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_02]: Probably not.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_02]: Probably not.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_02]: And like I said, they had a cap.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_02]: They had a limit.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_02]: They wanted to spend.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_02]: They didn't want to.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_02]: And probably for the best.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_02]: I'm a fan of Kenneth Walker, but I don't know that he would have got that contract.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know that the chiefs would have signed him if he didn't just win Super Bowl MVP.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_02]: And that MVP was so like, what's the word I'm looking for?
- 16:51[SPEAKER_02]: Like, questionable or tenuous to begin with, it was not a great Super Bowl.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_02]: It's beyond us.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_02]: So his value and I think his worth got inflated because of that.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_02]: He's a good running back, but he's another injury like prone.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_02]: waiting to happen kind of guy like an injury, waiting to happen injury, a walking injury kind of guy.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_02]: So he got 12, like you said, I forget the guarantee of money he got, but he got more than JK Dobbins and he got more years than JK Dobbins.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_02]: I'm pretty sure about that.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_02]: Why wasn't Seth Walter, like I mentioned earlier, why wasn't he hammering the chiefs for signing, for signing Kenneth Walker?
- 17:27[SPEAKER_02]: It's very inconsistent and that's what I hate.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_02]: if you're gonna knock a team for one thing for one purpose, then apply that purpose, apply that criteria to other teams, but they won't.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_02]: It seems like some of this criteria applies solely to the Broncos, although to be fair to Walter, like I said, it's brutal this time of year when it comes to creating content.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_02]: Anyone in the business would tell you that and I think he had to reach a little bit.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_02]: to work the Broncos in.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_02]: But then again, you know, if that's the worst move they made, if the worst move they made, the Broncos was giving JK Dobbins, again, who was a top five or any back, and it's not even anywhere near 30 yet, if that's the worst move is giving him a one-year contract for eight million bucks when other running backs are getting 12 or 13 or whatever, they're pretty damn freaking good shape that I will say.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_02]: And that's why I think Walters reaching with that
- 18:22[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_02]: Let me take a few more comments and I'll switch gears slightly.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_02]: We do have a couple matters of business.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_02]: We want to attend to.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_02]: And yes, we do have sports going on right now.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_02]: We have Monday night football going on right now, but it's more like Monday night football.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_02]: Then football.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll have to settle for it for another.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_02]: What is it 10 or 11 Mondays.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_02]: Will you kind of want to say.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_02]: Whoops.
- 18:44[SPEAKER_02]: What to go.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_02]: Are the free to go.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_02]: He goes like, okay, I don't know, not in my ailments today.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_02]: I'd rather have dobbins than walker, I think.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I agree with you there.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_02]: Again, you already know what dobbins can be for you.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_02]: Both have injury concerns.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_02]: You know, maybe walker has a better shelf life or a longer shelf life.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_02]: then dobbins at this point.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_02]: He's a little healthier overall, but like both have the same concerns, both have kind of the same skill sex as well.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_02]: Even though Walker's a little better of a past catcher out of the backfield, but for the money and for what JK is motivated to do for you, what he already did for you before he got hurt.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_02]: I'm right there with you William.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_02]: I'm right there with you.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_02]: And Sorako says, I'm glad Siri Oco.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_02]: Excuse me.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_02]: I'm glad we kept albums.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_02]: I'm too.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_02]: I listen.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_02]: I'm glad they kept him on the condition they drafted Jonah Coleman.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_02]: If they resigned, J.K. Dobbins and did not draft Jonah Coleman, I would have more of a problem with that.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_02]: then just like if they just return the same running back core is 2025.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, but the fact they had just against Dobba's injury history by drafting Jonah Coleman and by getting him in the fourth round for a steel terrific, terrific, pragmatic move by the Broncos front office.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_02]: Listen, listen, I'm right there with you.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_02]: You know, a lot of people do like soccer.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_02]: I know it's not big in this country.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_02]: I know the world cups of big deal.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_02]: I can't get into it.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_02]: I can't get into it.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_02]: I've tried.
- 20:11[SPEAKER_02]: You know, everyone's watching it right now.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_02]: I love this country more than anything.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_02]: You know, but it's just, it doesn't appeal to me.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_02]: You know, so it's funny to see you put that in quotes.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_02]: We'll have a real sport to us, prepping about 10 Mondays from now.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_02]: What is this from Chase Wellner?
- 20:25[SPEAKER_02]: Can't wait for some lighter boxes because a lot of,
- 20:27[SPEAKER_02]: absolutely and that's going to help JK and let me know let me see if he if he even put that you know he'd even put that in his blurb the fact that you know JK Dobbs could even better despite the contracts take the contract out of it Dobbs could be even better for you because the supporting cast is better around him and like you said Chase they can't stack the box anymore they can't have eight in the box the running backs no matter who they are are going to have more room the run so the receivers
- 20:54[SPEAKER_02]: uh... so that again they take a very narrow viewpoint a very i don't know total vision when it comes to the brachos and i do not understand or what happened i got to hear what happened i got to hear
- 21:07[SPEAKER_02]: I know there's the game on I'm going to again it's we're 20 minutes in 21 minutes in we're going to get to a matter of business and just a minute or so I'm going to keep it a little short tonight because there's not much to talk about quite honestly so What is this from talk I'm very excited to see the broadcast and the preseason I love watching the new young guys playing listen that's all the pre seasons about
- 21:26[SPEAKER_02]: is seeing how the young guys fit in with the team and who's going to make the 53, who's going to be the B, the C, the D players.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_02]: We already know who the ones are.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_02]: Now it's time to figure out the rest of the depth chart.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm right there with you.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_02]: And even if boat doesn't play, I don't care if he doesn't play.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_02]: We know what he can do.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_02]: I want to see the others.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_02]: I want to see Elinger and then Stidham go back and forth in his quarterback competition.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_02]: That's what I want to see.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_02]: All right, so let me listen, this is what we'll do.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I'm going to start this other topic in a few minutes.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_02]: We'll get to that.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to start this really quickly, though.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_02]: Another thing I wanted to talk about, because I don't want to miss anything.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_02]: I want to get to the comments at the end of our matter of business in just a few minutes.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_02]: I'll start this for now.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_02]: So the other topic that we tease for the podcast and like, and again, I'm just kind of rapid firing all this.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_02]: You have to forgive me.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_02]: This is how it's going to be for this evening.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_02]: The Broncos Elite Cornerback Duo.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_02]: I am reading this article on the website.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_02]: You guys can read it as well with me at s i dot com slash NFL slash Broncos Myelahuddle.com.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_02]: Broncos Elite Cornerback Duo deserve better in new NFL rankings.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_02]: And let me just scroll down to get the
- 22:37[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, will visit will visit quarterback rankings heading into the 2023 season, uh, they were barely falling in at falling in at number five.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 22:46[SPEAKER_02]: That, that grammatically threw me off.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_02]: So that's where the cornerback duo sits.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_02]: According to SIs, Gild Berto, Manzano.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_02]: He sorted through the NFL's five best cornerback duo was in the league,
- 23:07[SPEAKER_02]: quote, in my opinion, Patrick Surtan is the number one corner back in the league because he can contain number one wide-outs on a weekly basis.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_02]: And it wasn't that long ago that he won defensive player of the year in 2024.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_02]: But the two-time first-team all pro isn't alone in Denver playing with Moss, a quality number two, quality number two outside corner.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_02]: And J. Kwon, McMillan, a productive slot corner.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_02]: In 2025, the Broncos, I'm going to defense
- 23:35[SPEAKER_02]: And only 18.3 points per game third in the league.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_02]: Both of those stats were better than the Patriots last season with New England, averaging $1.93.5 passing arts and 18.8 points per game.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_02]: But maybe the Patriots quarterback duo should have gotten the nod for beating the Broncos in the AFC title game, still I couldn't leave certain out of the top five.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm gonna go back to the screen.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_02]: I know I've been looking off the screen for a second.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_02]: There's a lot I want to say about that because again, you'll have to forgive me.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_02]: I was reading all that and learning all about that in real time with you as I read.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_02]: And again, it's so weird how they do this.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_02]: When they try to criticize the Broncos or dunk on the Broncos, they often in making their point in one of these blurbs, they end up contradicting themselves.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_02]: They end up like unraveling their entire argument with their own words.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_02]: He just made the case everything I read there until the last couple sentences, which were so ridiculous and I'll get to that in a second.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_02]: He gave all the stats, you know, Sir Tan, all the superlatives he's won, what the Broncos, how dumb and in his word, it was about the defense last year.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_02]: Only 187 passing yards per game, they were top 10, 18.3 points per game, they were third in the league.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_02]: But then he goes, but maybe the Patriots should check in above the Broncos because they beat them in the AFC title game.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_02]: And then still after that he goes still, I couldn't leave Surtan out of the top five.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_02]: So it's like, even he knows, he knows in his heart that what he's doing is wrong here, that the Broncos should not be at number five.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_02]: But just like Seth Walder, Gilberto Manzano, needed content right now, that badly and kinda had a streets and stretch and contoured and bend a little bit to make this happen.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_02]: He completely contradicted what he said in his own words in the next breath.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_02]: and his only line of defense by saying maybe the Patriots quarterback duo should have gotten the nod because they beat the Broncos.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_02]: If the Broncos starting quarterback was playing in that game, I don't care how good the Patriots quarterback duo is.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_02]: The Broncos would have won that game.
- 25:46[SPEAKER_02]: And then one, where would you have ranked the Patriots quarterback duo then?
- 25:50[SPEAKER_02]: And by the way, would the Broncos get a bump up in the rankings because they won that game?
- 26:00[SPEAKER_02]: and both secondarys were in good, but the Broncos ended up winning because they had their quarterback.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_02]: Then what?
- 26:05[SPEAKER_02]: Would you bump the Broncos up on that logic?
- 26:07[SPEAKER_02]: No, it's so ridiculous.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_02]: And it's actually funny because Scott and I were talking about something kind of unrelated before the pod.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_02]: In that ESPN of all people of all organizations, anyway, they did offseason roster rankings, like collective strength of roster rankings.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_02]: And they had the Falcons tied for 29th, I think it was, or whatever.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_02]: And the argument like Scott and I were always talking about it so ridiculous, they say, well, it's the quarterback is bad.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_02]: You can have a good roster and have a bad quarterback.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_02]: You can have a good roster and have bad coaching.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_02]: We know that in Denver all too well.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_02]: There were so many times in that 10 year period pre-Bonex pre-shon Peyton that they actually had talented players on the roster.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_02]: They just didn't have a quarterback or they didn't have a coach or both.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_02]: So to say that they should be higher or to make an argument over something that has nothing to do with the topic at hand is so ridiculous.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_02]: You want to talk about the fact that Rally Moss can be a little grabby.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_02]: You want to talk about the fact that PS2 wasn't as dominant last year as he was.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_02]: He was still damn good, but he wasn't as dominant as they were as he was in 2024.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_02]: Fine.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_02]: Fine.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_02]: Those are legit arguments.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_02]: But to say the Patriot should be higher because they beat the Broncos in the AFC title game.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_02]: When the secondaries weren't really the story of that game, the stories of that game were
- 27:39[SPEAKER_02]: Well, yeah, that would aid the secondary.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_02]: I would think when the court of X can't pass the ball, Drake named was the Patriies leading Russia.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_02]: He didn't even point that out.
- 27:48[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry, you know, I'm literally getting right in the face, I know I'm loud, I'm yelling into your phones right now and see your speakers right now, but it makes me so mad.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_02]: If you're going to come at the Broncos, come at them logically, come at them with a real argument with real stats, not this fake, faulty BS, not these profile focus metrics and advanced stats, it means nothing to me and it means nothing to most people except for them.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_02]: It's for their own egos, it's that small group of NFL analysts that sniffed their own thoughts and think they've reinvented the wheel because they say, well, um, his deep ball advance post-strow accuracy wasn't that good.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_02]: I don't care what you have to say.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_02]: I know what I know.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_02]: And I know the Broncos secondary is better than New England's, and it's not because they, because they're against the title game, because the Broncos are objectively better, and he made
- 28:50[SPEAKER_02]: So let's just take a breath, it's it's I have been doing this now since 2016 you think I'd be used to it literally over 10 years a decade of my life covering this team and I enjoyed every minute of it I've done it for multiple different platforms now but every year every season no matter what it's the same thing
- 29:20[SPEAKER_02]: It's the same disrespect.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_02]: It's the same phony arguments.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_02]: It's the same for sniffing crowd.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_02]: And I should be used to it.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_02]: I should let it get to me.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_02]: It's gonna give me a freaking ulcer one day.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_02]: But like I just, I don't handle disrespect well.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_02]: with the things that I care about.
- 29:39[SPEAKER_02]: I've said this on the pod before.
- 29:40[SPEAKER_02]: I do not take disrespect well.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_02]: And when the broccoli's your disrespected, I know I'm not trying to be captain-save a hole or whatever, but like, it really just cuts to the bone.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_02]: What'd we got from Taylor Christians?
- 29:51[SPEAKER_02]: And for now, I did not thank you so much, Taylor.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_02]: I am literally sweating from getting worked up, but you know what?
- 29:58[SPEAKER_02]: It's so cathartic.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_02]: it really is.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_02]: I know I seem like a crazy person ranting in front of a camera right now, but for me, ranting and screaming and getting this off my chest, it makes me feel so good.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_02]: So I appreciate everyone.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_02]: I appreciate Scott for putting up with it because I'm having a world of fun doing it.
- 30:16[SPEAKER_02]: Taylor says 49 to 9 super.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_02]: You said you wanted rugs, Henry rugs in 2020 with him being denied as career is probably over.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_02]: you mean his parole being denied.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_02]: I'm assuming is what you're saying there.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_02]: But if he words you think he deserved another chance, I say no, I mean, I don't want to get into the, that's a very sad story.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, what can you, do I have even have to say allegedly anymore?
- 30:43[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he was convicted for what he caused the accident.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_02]: He killed a young woman.
- 30:47[SPEAKER_02]: He killed a dog.
- 30:47[SPEAKER_02]: They burned alive because he was recklessly behind the wheel of a car.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_02]: So, some things Taylor are bigger than football.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't think he deserves to get out of jail, prison, whatever.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think he deserves to ever play another down in the NFL.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_02]: It is a privilege.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_02]: It is an honor.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_02]: You're playing a kid's sports.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_02]: for millions upon millions of dollars, all Henry Rugs had to do.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_02]: And the same goes for any player that gets in trouble.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_02]: I've never understood this.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_02]: Same goes for Jonathan Cooper, any player that can get in trouble.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_02]: I understand things happen, crap happened to life.
- 31:23[SPEAKER_02]: But like, you had millions of dollars.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_02]: If you gave me the money, some of these players are making, I would be in a freaking bubble.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_02]: You would never see me again.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_02]: I would be so squeaky clean, and all I would want to do is live my life, stress-free, because money's not the end all be all, but it takes a lot of distress away in life.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_02]: And they have these chances, some of these players, and they just blow them, they just blow it on ridiculous things.
- 31:52[SPEAKER_02]: And I think in this case, it was ridiculous.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_02]: He had no reason to be doing that.
- 31:57[SPEAKER_02]: He threw away the blessing that he was given.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, I agree with Scott.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_02]: He made his
- 32:08[SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't deserve another NFL life.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_02]: No, not even close.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_02]: And it's something, again, something's most things are bigger than sports, bigger than football.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_02]: He took two lives.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I'm an animal lover, so I'm counting the dog as a life.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_02]: He took two lives by his choice.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_02]: He chose to do that that night.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_02]: He's not the victim here.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_02]: And this is not directed at Utah, or this is kind of how I feel.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_02]: I just don't understand the players that just blow.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_02]: the blessing and the luck that they have.
- 32:42[SPEAKER_02]: And it's not total luck to get to where they are.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_02]: They have to be talented, but again, they're making some guys 20, 30, 40, 50 million dollars and just, poof, for what?
- 32:53[SPEAKER_02]: For what?
- 32:55[SPEAKER_02]: So dumb and then same goes on a smaller scale for Jonathan Cooper.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_02]: What are you doing?
- 33:01[SPEAKER_02]: You're gonna multi your contract in the NFL.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_02]: You've got a rested once that's bad enough You're gonna tempt fate by getting arrested again in the same week by having contact allegedly Having contact with the victim.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_02]: What are they thinking?
- 33:17[SPEAKER_02]: I'm I've been a law-biding citizen my entire life by choice
- 33:22[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't make a hundred, a thousandth, a millionth of the money they make, how was it they can't be law-abiding, how was it they have so many screw-ups, these players, these multi-million dollar athletes, so no, he deserves, in my opinion, he should be in jail for the rest of his life.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_02]: It's an eye for an eye, he calls to murder, that's the appropriate punishment.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see if he ever does get out, he probably will.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_02]: But he should never even sniff any sort of professional football league and that goes for like the UFL as well.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_02]: He needs to be held accountable in every way possible for what he did what he did.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_02]: Nobody else would he did and I don't care that I wanted him in 2020.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_02]: I did want him.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_02]: He was a good receiver for the Raiders.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_02]: He heard the Brockers a couple times.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_02]: He couldn't have been a good player for but I don't care about that.
- 34:08[SPEAKER_02]: What he did was despicable and he deserves to be wary is right now.
- 34:11[SPEAKER_02]: It's behind bars.
- 34:14[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not getting into all the other.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_02]: I see we have like some names like like vicking and cappernick.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not getting into that.
- 34:19[SPEAKER_02]: That's gonna invoke politics and then it's not.
- 34:22[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not doing all that.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't want to even take the Henry Rugs thing, but Taylor is super chatted, so kind of had no choice, but I'm very like staunch with that.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_02]: Like if you commit murder and you're convicted and you were in your wrong, you're in the wrong, you're guilty.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_02]: Well, you deserve to be punished for it.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_02]: So the rest of your natural life.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe I'm too rigid, but that's how I am in my old age now.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm going to get to what they were talking about with the cornerback duo.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I guess I finished it up with my rant, but I just don't understand that's two times and this podcast alone that I've referenced what ESPN, how they slide at the broadcast.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_02]: And I know the cornerback thing was SI.
- 35:04[SPEAKER_02]: And I hate doing it because like, we're an SI company, but like I can't not call it out.
- 35:09[SPEAKER_02]: You're putting the Patriots or at least considering putting the Patriots above the Brocos because of something unrelated that happened in the AFC title game.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_02]: Would you know damn well that if Bonyx would have played against Drake, me and not Jared Stitham, that that game would have been a lot different.
- 35:26[SPEAKER_02]: How are you an NFL writer and you don't know that or you don't even
- 35:30[SPEAKER_02]: put that contextually in the article.
- 35:32[SPEAKER_02]: It's very at best it's kind of deceptive.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_02]: That worst it's kind of ironic.
- 35:37[SPEAKER_02]: So that's that's my thoughts on the rankings.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_02]: Like we know how PS2 is the depot.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_02]: PS2 is a future Hall of Famer.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_02]: You could argue whether he's first ballot, he'll probably need to win a ring to be first ballot.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_02]: But he has Hall of Fame credentials already.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_02]: Rally Moss is one of the best cornerbacks who's in the NFL.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he was targeted the most last season, and his completion percentage was among the better rates considering the targets in the league.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_02]: If like he said, Jake won't make million.
- 36:06[SPEAKER_02]: He's one of if not the best slot corner in the NFL.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_02]: They use the first round pick on Jada Barron who might be a good pro.
- 36:12[SPEAKER_02]: We all have our fingers crossed.
- 36:13[SPEAKER_02]: They have Chris Abram's drain who looks promising.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, what more do you want?
- 36:17[SPEAKER_02]: Then you have, by the way, like, I know they're not cornerbacks, but it's all part of the same thing.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_02]: The second there, you have two good safety's back there that are eating the play of the corners.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_02]: They're making the cornerbacks better.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_02]: And you're still going to take New England based on the
- 36:33[SPEAKER_02]: Whatever, whatever, whatever, what is this from Test Prep?
- 36:36[SPEAKER_02]: Remember for 11 months, appreciate that Test Prep.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_02]: It was nice after the next injury when everyone stopped pretending Beau was terrible for two weeks and openly admitted the Broncos would have made it to the Super Bowl, if you get a plate.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's funny when there's moments like that when everyone kind of drops the stick and gets on the same page, either as like, the country or sports fans, Broncos fans, whatever, football fans, it was true that like,
- 37:01[SPEAKER_02]: People, some people has obviously not everyone.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_02]: Some people really did come around on both.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_02]: I saw it in real time.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_02]: In real time after that injury, they only came around on both after he got hurt.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_02]: Why?
- 37:16[SPEAKER_02]: Why is that?
- 37:17[SPEAKER_02]: Why is he more easily easy to root for because he was injured?
- 37:21[SPEAKER_02]: That's kind of morbid in my opinion.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know that I like that train of thinking.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_02]: If you watched his play before he got hurt, it was obvious he was a worthy player to root for.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_02]: It was obvious that he was a good quarterback.
- 37:37[SPEAKER_02]: It was obvious that he's a franchise quarterback for the Broncos.
- 37:41[SPEAKER_02]: his injury didn't magically make him a top, I'd say a top 12 if not top 10.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_02]: That didn't make him that.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_02]: His play, his ability says God given talent made him that.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_02]: I did notice that a lot too, test prep.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_02]: And that goes for whatever reason like when famous figures end up passing away, people end up replaying their music or watching their movies or remembering them or fondly talking about them, why not celebrate them when they're alive?
- 38:11[SPEAKER_02]: Why does it become, why do they become better in their occupation or their fields or whatever, when they're no longer with us or when they're injured?
- 38:18[SPEAKER_02]: That never makes sense to me.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_02]: And again, though, I saw it play out in the real time.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_02]: I hope though that the ones that didn't come around yet, the ESPNs, whatever, they will come around and on one metric, and that's just the strength of Bonyx's play.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_02]: How good the Broncos do, based on the captain of the ship, and that is number 10.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_02]: So we got Dylan in the building.
- 38:46[SPEAKER_02]: How do y'all?
- 38:46[SPEAKER_02]: What's up to you, Dylan?
- 38:48[SPEAKER_02]: Hope you're doing well.
- 38:49[SPEAKER_02]: Our longtime mod holding it down in the
- 38:54[SPEAKER_02]: What is this Keith Braggman or I'm sorry, Keith, Dan and Bob, we have a lot of keeps in the chat.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_02]: Myel High salute to all Denver Broncos for life.
- 39:04[SPEAKER_02]: What is this about?
- 39:04[SPEAKER_02]: Rugs go into a renal league, whatever.
- 39:07[SPEAKER_02]: Let them hate.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they're gonna continue hating.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_02]: It's just like I have to learn Taylor and you've been watching me long enough.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if you go back to 24 or seven or not, but you've been watching me long enough to know that I just,
- 39:20[SPEAKER_02]: I can't sit lightly by it's not even in like a bit I'm trying to do I'm not trying to be tough I'm not trying to be this like, oh, I'm really not I'm not trying to keep for the Broncos at all or I'm not but like I do something in me and lately that just grits and grits and grits away into like explode
- 39:41[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_02]: And I appreciate that teller.
- 39:44[SPEAKER_02]: You are as well.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, my man.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_02]: Again, a long time viewer, you've been with us through the bad.
- 39:49[SPEAKER_02]: As so many of all of you have, been with us through the bad, the good, and now soon to be the great when Bonyx, who everyone is still down on and slandering in the Broncos, are raising up that Lombardi trophy as Super Bowl champions.
- 40:05[SPEAKER_02]: What are they going to say then?
- 40:06[SPEAKER_02]: What advanced metric then?
- 40:10[SPEAKER_02]: There is none, they'll have to, that's what I can't wait for when we hold up a mirror to their faces and say, see, look, look, look.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_02]: And you force them to look at how good the Broncos are.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_02]: You force them to acknowledge how good the Broncos are.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_02]: That's what I can't wait for.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_02]: It's on any sort of winter loss or record or stat.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_02]: It's when they're forced,
- 40:33[SPEAKER_02]: as some of them were after the next injury when they're forced to acknowledge how good the brachos are and when they're raising that trophy there's going to be some that's still kind of all downplay it but when they acknowledge because they have to they have to oh man that is going to be so delicious delicious I can't wait for that
- 40:53[SPEAKER_02]: 10 years of this, 10 years, 11 years now of hearing this lander, of hearing the same fart sniffing crowd.
- 40:59[SPEAKER_02]: When they are forced to acknowledge how wrong they've been, man, my heart will grow two sizes, put it that way.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_02]: All right, what are we got?
- 41:10[SPEAKER_02]: 44 minutes.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know how it went that fast.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_02]: You guys make it incredible.
- 41:14[SPEAKER_02]: I'm ranting will probably do that.
- 41:15[SPEAKER_02]: It shoes up a bunch of time.
- 41:17[SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna start to wind down.
- 41:19[SPEAKER_02]: I'll call this a two minute morning.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_02]: Again, it's gonna be a quicker pod tonight.
- 41:22[SPEAKER_01]: It might be a quicker pod Wednesday as well.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_01]: It's gonna be like this and so we're back in the fold.
- 41:27[SPEAKER_02]: As a duo and not to fear though, training camps around the corner, preseason and then the season and we're all locked in.
- 41:34[SPEAKER_02]: Chad, me, Scott, until straight through February
- 41:40[SPEAKER_02]: uh... hoisting a bombardy trophy and we're asking specifically who they are well i'm not afraid to uh... you know what here let me pull up the uh... the article that sky was talking about and i'll get you know what i'll get to this really quick they ranks as he mentioned they rank the uh... the falcons tied for twenty-nine thirtieth whatever it was they rank the brago's eight yeah eight
- 42:03[SPEAKER_02]: So in case you guys were wondering, it's not a topic that I was in a cover tonight.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_02]: It's something that Scott and I were talking about before we went live.
- 42:10[SPEAKER_02]: But ESPN, these three analysts, and I'll name them in a second, because I don't really care.
- 42:17[SPEAKER_02]: They rank the Broncos collectively, number eight overall.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_02]: And you guys, my first instinct when someone tells me that is okay, well who's ahead of them?
- 42:26[SPEAKER_02]: So I'll tell you that.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_02]: Seven is the Patriots because they're the new chargers like they're the new darlings the new favorites, and I think a lot of it or some of it anyway is is undeserved, but Patriots at seven Lions at six Ravens at five bills at four C ox at three Eagles at two and Rams at one
- 42:49[SPEAKER_02]: And you guys can probably, I would agree with most of those.
- 42:53[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know about New England.
- 42:54[SPEAKER_02]: Again, if they didn't have the easiest schedule on the face of the planet last year, then I can ever recall seeing for a professional sports team, if they didn't make the Super Bowl, would anyone still be talking about them the way they are now?
- 43:08[SPEAKER_02]: Would they still be talking about Drake Bay, like he's Herbert, and talking about the Patriarch like the Charger, it's a Darling's.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_02]: They wouldn't.
- 43:18[SPEAKER_02]: That's such inflated height from New England.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm not being a Homer.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_02]: I'm really not.
- 43:23[SPEAKER_02]: Like if I watched the Broncos and I watched the Patriots, I wasn't covering them last year, I know objectively just watched them.
- 43:30[SPEAKER_02]: I would say the Broncos have a better future.
- 43:32[SPEAKER_02]: I would say they're better set up for success.
- 43:34[SPEAKER_02]: I'd say the roster is stronger as a whole.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_02]: I say Bonyx is just as good as if not better than Drake May.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_02]: I swear I'm not saying that because I covered the steam.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_02]: I swear I'm not.
- 43:45[SPEAKER_02]: But that's who they have at number eight.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_02]: And I'll name, I think it was Todd that wanted the fart snipers.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_02]: Here they are.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_02]: Mike Clay, Aaron Schatz, and Seth Walder, and it's ironic what the second person's last name was because he's doing that quite a bit in this article and with his, his takes about the Broncos.
- 44:02[SPEAKER_02]: That's that ESPN crew though.
- 44:04[SPEAKER_02]: I don't care.
- 44:05[SPEAKER_02]: That's, that's what they do.
- 44:07[SPEAKER_02]: They sit around and it's like a little like a, like the cool kid's table, like mean girls,
- 44:13[SPEAKER_02]: You know, they're never going to make, they're never going to make fetch happen, something like that.
- 44:17[SPEAKER_02]: And see people still because they have such big platforms, they just buy into it.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_02]: I refuse to do that.
- 44:25[SPEAKER_02]: It's fair that the Broncos are ranked number eight top 10.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, though, that you should have the Patriots above them.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry.
- 44:35[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, sorry.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, Todd's funny.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_02]: I guess they forgot we'd beat the bills last year.
- 44:39[SPEAKER_02]: I guess so.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_02]: I guess so.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, absolutely not.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_02]: Hope that answers your questions, Todd.
- 44:44[SPEAKER_02]: Did I miss anything else?
- 44:45[SPEAKER_02]: What is this?
- 44:46[SPEAKER_02]: Zach just go overturn every piece of furniture.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_02]: You won't get your stress out.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_02]: Eh.
- 44:51[SPEAKER_01]: Cause then you know what happens after you do something like that.
- 44:53[SPEAKER_02]: Like when you calm down, you're like, well,
- 44:56[SPEAKER_02]: crap.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_02]: Now I got to like either replace this or pick it back up and put it back together.
- 45:01[SPEAKER_02]: Like the moment of clarity you have after you crash out is crazy.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_02]: So that's why I appreciate you guys verbally letting me thrash about here and go on these rants.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_02]: I really do appreciate it.
- 45:11[SPEAKER_02]: I know I'm maybe a little louder, whatever, but I it's all genuine guys.
- 45:16[SPEAKER_02]: Just know that.
- 45:16[SPEAKER_02]: It's all from the best interest of the Broncos.
- 45:18[SPEAKER_02]: It's all from a good-hearted place and it's all genuine.
- 45:21[SPEAKER_02]: I hate the disrespect.
- 45:23[SPEAKER_02]: I hate it and I'll always push back against it.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_02]: All right, I think that is going to do it for me, though.
- 45:28[SPEAKER_02]: It said 48.
- 45:28[SPEAKER_02]: Again, unless you have any last minute questions, comments, supers, considerations, fire them in.
- 45:33[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to go through my spiel here.

- 48:01[SPEAKER_02]: I know there's nothing going on.
- 48:02[SPEAKER_02]: It's a random Monday.
- 48:04[SPEAKER_02]: When a Todd says someone just needs to be mean to Zach right before he comes on the podcast and we can't get right you know what There's like you guys have been watching me for a many years now.
- 48:17[SPEAKER_02]: There have been a few times where like an outside circumstance has pissed me off to the point where it like it got me rolled up to the pod so I have to keep that in mind Like what did James Gandolfini who played Tony soprano what did he used to do between takes he used to put a rock in his shoe.
- 48:33[SPEAKER_02]: and he'd walk around so that would get him more and more frustrated.
- 48:36[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, that's method acting to an absolute team, but I'll keep that in mind, Todd.
- 48:40[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you for that.
- 48:41[SPEAKER_02]: And thank you to everyone who joined me tonight.
- 48:43[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you to Scott for helping produce and helping me hold it down without Chad.
