- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome back to sec football addiction presented by prize picks.
- 0:03Speaker 1: We're all new users who play a $ 5 lineup using
- 0:05Speaker 1: code H M a get $ 150 in lineups instantly. If
- 0:08Speaker 1: they win UGA put up insane numbers last week, Utah
- 0:13Speaker 1: put up insane numbers last week against Arkansas. And so
- 0:17Speaker 1: Utah's opponent will play that team in the sec that
- 0:20Speaker 1: also put up crazy numbers.
- 0:22Speaker 2: I sec play opens up.
- 0:24Speaker 1: And so I think it's worth talking about, but this
- 0:28Speaker 1: game is, doesn't seem to offer a lot. Is there
- 0:31Speaker 1: anything here that you have your eye on between Georgia
- 0:35Speaker 1: and Arkansas, or is it literally just how many points
- 0:37Speaker 1: does Kirby Smart want to score?
- 0:39Speaker 3: I mean, there is like a path for Arkansas to
- 0:42Speaker 3: keep it close, but you look at what both teams
- 0:44Speaker 3: have done so far this year. I mean, yes, Arkansas
- 0:46Speaker 3: has gone and played Utah. Georgia hasn't, but Georgia has
- 0:49Speaker 3: the best scoring offense in the SEC.
- 0:51Speaker 4: Arkansas is the 16th.
- 0:52Speaker 3: Georgia has 216 more yards per game on offense. They've
- 0:56Speaker 3: allowed 34 less total points through these first two weeks.
- 1:00Speaker 3: So yeah, like I said, Georgia did not go on
- 1:01Speaker 3: the road to play Utah. But if you just watch
- 1:03Speaker 3: both of these teams, it's very clear that there's a
- 1:05Speaker 3: massive gap in how they're both operating. And that's not
- 1:08Speaker 3: a shock, right? So that's not meant to be a
- 1:09Speaker 3: dig at Arkansas. Just first year for Silverfield versus Kirby
- 1:12Speaker 3: Smart and Georgia. trying to still punch back after a
- 1:15Speaker 3: couple of disappointing postseasons, really want to show the country
- 1:18Speaker 3: that they're still one of the top dogs, no pun intended,
- 1:21Speaker 3: in the entire country.
- 1:21Speaker 4: So there's a big gap between these two teams.
- 1:23Speaker 3: And yes, it's in Fayetteville, road game in the SEC,
- 1:26Speaker 3: but it's kind of hard to get super excited about
- 1:29Speaker 3: Arkansas in this game just because of how good Georgia
- 1:31Speaker 3: has looked.
- 1:33Speaker 1: You just said that. That was a great segue. But
- 1:35Speaker 1: you just talked about how good Georgia has looked. Admittedly,
- 1:38Speaker 1: they haven't played a team that is even close to
- 1:41Speaker 1: their seal level. And I don't little, little bump up
- 1:44Speaker 1: this week, but still not super great from that perspective.
- 1:48Speaker 2: What have they done though?
- 1:50Speaker 1: Like, what can you take away from those two games
- 1:52Speaker 1: that they have already played? That gives you some confidence
- 1:55Speaker 1: that man, yeah, they're, they're still one of the best team. Like,
- 1:58Speaker 1: have they done things well that you've seen that you're like,
- 2:00Speaker 1: all right, this is what I was expecting.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Or is that too tough to tell against the competition
- 2:05Speaker 2: they've played?
- 2:06Speaker 3: A little bit of both, right, because they are playing, obviously,
- 2:08Speaker 3: like I said, weaker teams where you can't, like, gleam. Like,
- 2:10Speaker 3: they'll be doing this all year long. But they were
- 2:12Speaker 3: doing the right things. I mean, they're running the ball
- 2:14Speaker 3: incredibly well. They have 8.2 yards per carry as a
- 2:16Speaker 3: team through those first two games. Their defense has been
- 2:19Speaker 3: absolutely suffocating. I mean, they've won those first two games
- 2:22Speaker 3: by a combined score of 133-23. Like, that's a pretty
- 2:26Speaker 3: good margin no matter who you're playing. So you've seen
- 2:28Speaker 3: both sides of the ball play like you expect a
- 2:31Speaker 3: Kirby-smart team to play. You've seen both those fronts be
- 2:33Speaker 3: incredibly more physical, just incredibly dominant. over a weaker opponent,
- 2:37Speaker 3: which frankly, a couple of other top 10 teams, you
- 2:39Speaker 3: haven't seen them do that against weaker fronts, right? So
- 2:42Speaker 3: being able to see Georgia trenches do that has been
- 2:45Speaker 3: really encouraging. Just everything about Georgia that you expected to
- 2:48Speaker 3: be there has been there, right? They haven't really had
- 2:51Speaker 3: any surprising questions pop up. Gunner Stockton has looked good
- 2:54Speaker 3: in just like three total quarters of action so far.
- 2:57Speaker 3: The running backs have looked very good. The defense has
- 2:59Speaker 3: looked incredibly violent and fast. You have a couple of
- 3:03Speaker 3: skilled players who are maybe showing up, Sokopi White-Helton, has
- 3:05Speaker 3: a greater receiver. Tyreek Green's actually a safety, but he's
- 3:08Speaker 3: in some pretty good spots as a return man. It
- 3:10Speaker 3: just seems like they have all this talent, once again, surprise,
- 3:13Speaker 3: Georgia has talent, and the way they're utilizing it has
- 3:16Speaker 3: been incredibly strong, and they've really been playing to their
- 3:18Speaker 3: strengths so far in these first two games, which has
- 3:21Speaker 3: been really confidence-inspiring to see in these first two weeks.
- 3:24Speaker 2: They've outscored opponents 133-23.
- 3:26Speaker 1: They've got to have the best scoring differential in college
- 3:31Speaker 1: football when you think about they're plus 110 right now.
- 3:35Speaker 2: I will ask this.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Is there anything you're seeing from them that does give
- 3:41Speaker 1: you a little bit of pause? We talk about how
- 3:43Speaker 1: thin the margins are at the top, like maybe the
- 3:45Speaker 1: top seven teams in the country right now, we would
- 3:47Speaker 1: say maybe any of them could win the national championship.
- 3:50Speaker 1: And then I don't know if we can go much
- 3:51Speaker 1: further than that top seven, but it has only been
- 3:53Speaker 1: two weeks. Is there anything, you know, is there any,
- 3:56Speaker 1: I don't even know if glaring is the right word,
- 3:59Speaker 1: but is there anything that kind of stands out that
- 4:01Speaker 1: is either a concern or just unproven to you so far?
- 4:06Speaker 3: I brought up how they've had some explosive plays, whether
- 4:08Speaker 3: it was White Hilton, that receiver, or Tyra Green from
- 4:10Speaker 3: punt return.
- 4:12Speaker 4: And this is Kirby's favorite thing.
- 4:13Speaker 3: He won't say this, but I still don't know how
- 4:16Speaker 3: much of an explosive threat that they have in that
- 4:18Speaker 3: passing game. Gunnar Stockton is a great quarterback, but he's
- 4:21Speaker 3: a game manager in a good sense. It's not an
- 4:23Speaker 3: insult to him. He does everything correctly. He will not
- 4:25Speaker 3: make a mistake. He's the perfect guy to play quarterback
- 4:27Speaker 3: for a Kirby smart team. And I look at that
- 4:29Speaker 3: receiver room and I'm like, I mean, do you have
- 4:31Speaker 3: a guy who you know on third and 13? Like,
- 4:33Speaker 3: I'm going to throw you the ball, and I like
- 4:35Speaker 3: the chances of that. Now, that's not a problem when
- 4:37Speaker 3: you're playing those first two games. And it shouldn't be
- 4:39Speaker 3: when you're at Arkansas. But when they play Alabama, when
- 4:43Speaker 3: they play Ole Miss, like, you're going to be in
- 4:46Speaker 3: spots where you might be down by 10. And you're
- 4:48Speaker 3: going to have to have that. You're probably going to
- 4:50Speaker 3: have to have, at least, that downfield threat, that quick
- 4:52Speaker 3: strike ability. I'm not sure if they have that yet
- 4:55Speaker 3: against high-caliber competition. Now, obviously, they have these weeks to
- 4:59Speaker 3: develop that, to find the receiver that they can trust
- 5:01Speaker 3: to go get downfield and to find those plays they
- 5:04Speaker 3: want to run there. But that's kind of been my
- 5:06Speaker 3: question all offseason. The pass rush has looked better. The
- 5:09Speaker 3: D-line has looked like it was much improved. That was
- 5:11Speaker 3: kind of their second biggest question coming into this year.
- 5:13Speaker 3: So I would still say the only thing I still
- 5:15Speaker 3: want to see answered is against an SEC defense, do
- 5:18Speaker 3: you have that receiver who can go take the top
- 5:20Speaker 3: off and go score a 70-yard touchdown?
- 5:22Speaker 1: What is the thing that Arkansas does the best to...
- 5:26Speaker 1: potentially give them a chance to stay in this game.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Like how, how does Arkansas make this a game past
- 5:33Speaker 1: two quarters? Hey guys, I'll get right back to chatting
- 5:36Speaker 1: with Will, but first I want to ask you to
- 5:37Speaker 1: do two things. One, if you're not already subscribed to

- 6:07Speaker 1: It's not going to hurt your phone. It doesn't cost anything.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Just go subscribe. It helps support. We appreciate you guys
- 6:13Speaker 1: for the support on the channel as we continue to

- 6:17Speaker 1: playoffs happen. We will certainly get there with you guys.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Appreciate that. Now back to Will.
- 6:22Speaker 4: There's really like two keys. So Quincy Rhodes Jr.
- 6:24Speaker 3: their edge rusher, he's probably their best player on defense.
- 6:27Speaker 4: He's an alien of a build.
- 6:28Speaker 3: He kind of has to pop. He's a really good athlete.
- 6:31Speaker 3: He hasn't been producing super great in these first two games,
- 6:34Speaker 3: but he is the caliber of athlete where even against
- 6:36Speaker 3: Georgia's off to tackles, he can probably get into the
- 6:38Speaker 3: backfield a couple of times. So can you get to Gunnar?
- 6:41Speaker 3: Can you get your hands on him? Can you knock
- 6:42Speaker 3: the ball out and get a strip sack? Like if
- 6:44Speaker 3: we're going to keep this close, I think very specifically,
- 6:47Speaker 3: you kind of need Quincy Rhodes to punch the ball
- 6:49Speaker 3: out in the pocket once or twice. and give your
- 6:51Speaker 3: team a short field. And on the other side, you
- 6:53Speaker 3: have a pretty good one-two at running back in Cam
- 6:56Speaker 3: Settles and Braylon Russell. Those two guys need to be great.
- 7:00Speaker 3: If you're able to run the ball with Arkansas, that
- 7:02Speaker 3: does a few things. Obviously, you can move the ball,
- 7:04Speaker 3: you can score points. It will also take time off
- 7:06Speaker 3: the clock, and it will mean fewer overall possessions in
- 7:09Speaker 3: this game. The fewer possessions that happen in this game
- 7:11Speaker 3: for both teams the variance of outcome expands, and that
- 7:14Speaker 3: gives you a better chance to come out and win
- 7:16Speaker 3: this game. Because over 100 drives, Georgia will beat you.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Over 15 drives, maybe Arkansas has the edge. So they
- 7:22Speaker 3: need to be able to run the ball, not just
- 7:24Speaker 3: to establish their offense, but also to shorten the game,
- 7:28Speaker 3: increase the variability of outcome, and give them a better
- 7:30Speaker 3: chance to actually be keeping up with Georgia. Because KJ
- 7:33Speaker 3: Jackson passing the ball to those receivers, probably not good enough.
- 7:36Speaker 3: They're going to have to establish the run and really
- 7:37Speaker 3: control the game if they want a chance.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Who has stood out the most to you for Georgia?
- 7:43Speaker 1: Like, as they've been putting up so many points, holding
- 7:47Speaker 1: teams down so well defensively, like, do you have a
- 7:49Speaker 1: player on each side of the ball that stood out
- 7:50Speaker 1: the most through two weeks?
- 7:53Speaker 3: I mean, offensively, it's been kind of hard because they've
- 7:54Speaker 3: been spreading it out so well, right? Kirby's done a
- 7:56Speaker 3: really good job of getting every playmaker involved. I mean,
- 7:58Speaker 3: Nate Frazier, the running back one, he's looked very good.
- 8:01Speaker 3: He has over 12 yards per carry in these first
- 8:03Speaker 3: few games.
- 8:04Speaker 4: He's just looked so violent, so physical.
- 8:06Speaker 3: He really is one of the better runners in the
- 8:07Speaker 3: SEC who gets kind of overlooked because of, you know,
- 8:09Speaker 3: Ahmad Hardy, Kiwan Lacey, Jaden Ball. He's almost just as
- 8:12Speaker 3: good as those guys. And defensively, you've already seen, what's
- 8:15Speaker 3: the number? They already have five sacks as a team now.
- 8:17Speaker 3: They didn't hit the five sack mark as a team
- 8:18Speaker 3: until way into the year last year. So, you know,
- 8:21Speaker 3: guys like Dean and guys like Lennon Jr. on the
- 8:23Speaker 3: defensive line, they've looked very strong. They've looked very encouraging already.
- 8:26Speaker 3: Gabe Harris also has a sack. He was one of
- 8:28Speaker 3: those returning stars already. So you're seeing guys on the
- 8:31Speaker 3: defensive front who you were kind of waiting to pop.
- 8:33Speaker 3: You're seeing them pop early on, which is a very
- 8:35Speaker 3: promising sign for this defense.
- 8:37Speaker 2: 24 and a half points here. Um, it is on
- 8:41Speaker 2: the road.
- 8:41Speaker 1: It's a huge, I don't remember many 24 and a
- 8:44Speaker 1: half point spreads on the road in the sec.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Now I know we are talking about the standard bearer.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Of the sec and then the team that might be
- 8:54Speaker 1: at the very bottom with a brand new coach.
- 8:55Speaker 2: So I, I get it right.
- 8:57Speaker 1: But I don't, I don't remember very many 24 and
- 9:00Speaker 1: a half point spreads for a road sec game.
- 9:03Speaker 2: Like that is wild to think about. Um, where's your
- 9:08Speaker 2: lead in this one?
- 9:09Speaker 3: I mean, like it could just be like 41, 17.
- 9:12Speaker 4: And if you bet Georgia, you're just screwed, even though
- 9:15Speaker 4: they crushed the entire game. So I do want to
- 9:17Speaker 4: stay away from the numbers, how big it is, like
- 9:19Speaker 4: you said, but I don't think this will be competitive.
- 9:22Speaker 3: I mean, maybe because of how Georgia will play, which
- 9:24Speaker 3: is physical run the ball, just by nature of that,
- 9:27Speaker 3: it'll be 14 or 17 to three and a half.
- 9:29Speaker 3: You're like, Oh, that's kind of interesting, but it really
- 9:31Speaker 3: won't be. If you've been watching the game, Georgia will roll,
- 9:33Speaker 3: The number is too big for me to really make
- 9:34Speaker 3: a play on it, but I have no worries about
- 9:36Speaker 3: the Bulldogs in this spot at all. Yeah.
- 9:38Speaker 1: It feels like how much does Kirby want to win
- 9:41Speaker 1: by and how much does he want to go get
- 9:43Speaker 1: ready for Oklahoma next week, which will be a huge game.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Obviously Oklahoma's margin for error is very small. Google AI
- 9:51Speaker 1: tells me that the largest spread in the last 10
- 9:54Speaker 1: years was Alabama at Vandy in 2017.
- 9:56Speaker 2: I don't know if we can really not know, no
- 9:59Speaker 2: shots at Nashville. I know that's where you're at.
- 10:00Speaker 4: I don't really consider.
- 10:01Speaker 2: Vandy a road game. I'm sure there were more Bama
- 10:03Speaker 2: fans there.
- 10:04Speaker 4: It probably was not in 2017. Yeah.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Vandy's doing a great job now.
- 10:08Speaker 1: But 2017, I would imagine that there was more crimson
- 10:11Speaker 1: in that stands in those stands. Um, but yeah, pretty,
- 10:14Speaker 1: pretty uncommon for a team to be this big of
- 10:17Speaker 1: a dog at home in the, uh, in the Southeastern conference.
- 10:20Speaker 1: So yeah, give me Georgia to roll and not that
- 10:23Speaker 1: Kirby cares about the spread, but, uh, if he wants
- 10:26Speaker 1: to cover the spread, they'll cover the spread. That's kind
- 10:28Speaker 1: of how I would, uh, how I would look at it.
- 10:30Speaker 1: So we'll Thomas tailgate talk sec. You can also find
- 10:33Speaker 1: him on a peak inside sec football, link his social
- 10:36Speaker 1: media there in the description. Make sure you are subscribed. I'll,
