Transcript
- 0:07Speaker 1: This is Chuck's Cantina podcast where anything and everything is
- 0:13Speaker 1: up for discussion. And now here's your barman, Chuck O'Donnell.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Well, I know, I know, I give you the way
- 0:24Speaker 2: I do a pot I just want to favorite your time.
- 0:26Speaker 2: I just want to give like a little quick like
- 0:28Speaker 2: best and worst out of yet, what is your favorite
- 0:31Speaker 2: and worst wrestling you can take at the top of
- 0:33Speaker 2: your head.
- 0:35Speaker 3: What's so.
- 0:37Speaker 4: I'm not thinking of like the WrestleMania as a whole. Yeah,
- 0:41Speaker 4: I do have a quick top five worst WrestleMania moments.
- 0:45Speaker 4: I did some research.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Oh, I love this.
- 0:50Speaker 4: Honorable, honorable mention because it was simultaneously a good and
- 0:55Speaker 4: a bad moment. I think it was thirty nine when
- 0:58Speaker 4: MS was hosting and Shane mcman came out immediately blew
- 1:04Speaker 4: his quads or whatever. Yes, it would have been a
- 1:06Speaker 4: bad moment, but then the immaculate Snoop Dogg saved the
- 1:10Speaker 4: save the moment and up tick going into business for
- 1:14Speaker 4: himself and the highest people's elbow of all time.
- 1:19Speaker 2: On the miss. On the miss that was number five awkwards.
- 1:25Speaker 2: That was one of the most awkward seconds I remember.
- 1:26Speaker 2: And that was with you when that when we watch
- 1:28Speaker 2: it too.
- 1:29Speaker 4: Yeah, that was that was weird. We were like, what
- 1:30Speaker 4: is happening? Oh snoop dogg okay, oh oh.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Shit, motherfucker the people's elbow.
- 1:38Speaker 4: Yeah but no, okay. So Top five worst moments WrestleMania
- 1:47Speaker 4: twenty number five, Like least worst moment on this list,
- 1:51Speaker 4: Goldberg versus brock Lessner smatch has a lot of like
- 1:58Speaker 4: history going into it, Like people really wanted to see this.
- 2:00Speaker 4: You know, these two hosses were in the business, in
- 2:03Speaker 4: the company at the same time. Dream match, you could say.
- 2:07Speaker 4: But then you know, neither one of them really wanted
- 2:11Speaker 4: to lose it.
- 2:13Speaker 2: It came out that day they were both leaving after
- 2:15Speaker 2: the show.
- 2:16Speaker 4: They're both leaving. Yeah yeah, yeah, so like and the
- 2:19Speaker 4: crowd got whiff of it and shit all over it,
- 2:22Speaker 4: and then you know they played into the match, and
- 2:25Speaker 4: obviously you had the third element Stone Colt Steve Austin,
- 2:28Speaker 4: which is not going to be the last time he
- 2:30Speaker 4: appears on either one of my top five or bottom five.
- 2:34Speaker 4: I guess you could call this list bottom five. But
- 2:38Speaker 4: but yeah, just a big letdown, kind of a wet
- 2:42Speaker 4: fart moment where it's like, you guys could have had
- 2:45Speaker 4: such a better match, and they would go on to
- 2:47Speaker 4: have another match later in their careers. And I don't know,
- 2:53Speaker 4: there's a kind of a squash honestly, but yeah, so
- 2:58Speaker 4: that that kind of sucked. Let's see, next up on
- 3:04Speaker 4: the list, we have what was it, WrestleMania. Oh did
- 3:10Speaker 4: I close the thing? I think it was WrestleMania nine.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Mm hmm, you have.
- 3:19Speaker 4: WrestleMania nine. Let's see real quick.
- 3:23Speaker 2: While you're doing that, let me give you one for me.
- 3:25Speaker 4: You want to go back and forth?
- 3:26Speaker 2: Yeah, sorry for me. Uh my, Oh, I didn't think
- 3:29Speaker 2: about honorable mention. Oh, okay, honorable mention. Worst it's not
- 3:39Speaker 2: just one particular WrestleMania. It's when we unfortunately buy too
- 3:44Speaker 2: much into the hype that something or someone might come
- 3:49Speaker 2: back or do something. Example Brett Hart Wresselling twenty two.
- 3:55Speaker 2: He got dugged at night before. Everyone thought, well, he's
- 3:58Speaker 2: still gonna be at wrestle Maane. Yet he wasn't. He
- 4:01Speaker 2: wasn't even the Hall of Fame announcement or the Hall
- 4:04Speaker 2: of Fame like they do every year who was in
- 4:05Speaker 2: the Hall of Fame to do a whole thing was like,
- 4:06Speaker 2: bring it off the Hall of Fame, And he wasn't there.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Uh that's what that's like. That one that's like another one,
- 4:14Speaker 2: but another like a uh dishonorable or honorable no boyn
- 4:18Speaker 2: on one that I can think of the top of
- 4:20Speaker 2: my head. This honorable mention, This honorable mention. I'm not
- 4:23Speaker 2: going to put it like in the worst category because
- 4:25Speaker 2: there's it wasn't their fault actually in this instance, Russe
- 4:28Speaker 2: thirty six, Uh, the COVID WrestleMania, they didn't the warehouse. Yeah,
- 4:35Speaker 2: there was some good stuff that came out of it,
- 4:38Speaker 2: like the Firefly fun House and then the Boneyard Brawl
- 4:41Speaker 2: match which wind which is a really too, really awesome thing.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Remember like like that scene I literally watched with my
- 4:45Speaker 2: wife and our good friend and even Lee was like whoa,
- 4:50Speaker 2: Like like yeah, like you you you you remove your
- 4:53Speaker 2: disbelief for a little bit and you're gonna have some
- 4:54Speaker 2: fun with this ship. But yeah, it was it.
- 4:58Speaker 4: Kevin Owens versus Seth Rollins had a really good match too.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Yeah, Kevin Owentz jumped off the wrestle Mania sign.
- 5:03Speaker 4: Yeah it's crazy.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Yeah, it's just there was some good stuff that came
- 5:07Speaker 2: out of it. But just like that, obviously, like it
- 5:09Speaker 2: was a rustle it was the only wrestlme with no crowd,
- 5:11Speaker 2: and it really showed how much big, how much of
- 5:13Speaker 2: a crowd plays into it. So that would be my
- 5:17Speaker 2: dishonorable honorable mention. I'll just do a quick honorable mention
- 5:20Speaker 2: for good. I'm I'm not gonna say I don't want
- 5:24Speaker 2: to put anyone into speak of a specific order. Actually,
- 5:27Speaker 2: if anything, you could put wrestle Mania thirty five in
- 5:29Speaker 2: this honorable category. But just the stages. Yeah, they don't
- 5:34Speaker 2: do crazy stages like they used for every single paper
- 5:36Speaker 2: view because obviously technical expensive, but they always do. They
- 5:39Speaker 2: always go above beyond for a certain stage. Like look
- 5:41Speaker 2: at wrestle May at thirty three. I mean it was
- 5:43Speaker 2: literally a theme park roller coaster, which was sick. The
- 5:46Speaker 2: one I too. Wrestling at twenty two it was just
- 5:48Speaker 2: a top of the Sears tower, like I mean, it
- 5:50Speaker 2: was pretty basic, but like you walked in right away
- 5:54Speaker 2: knew exactly what it was. Uh, WrestleMania twenty one was
- 5:57Speaker 2: like a Hollywood theater, walking extravagance and just stuff like that,
- 6:03Speaker 2: and like they and now they still do it or help.
- 6:05Speaker 2: I mean, my almost my favorite one and someone that's
- 6:08Speaker 2: talked about personally is rust May thirty four was just
- 6:10Speaker 2: a giant like masquerade mask as a screen, Like I
- 6:14Speaker 2: think that things so Badassah yeah, so that would be
- 6:17Speaker 2: my honorable and then it's honorable. So cool.
- 6:21Speaker 4: You can also throw in like entrances, you know, whether
- 6:25Speaker 4: it's like the attire, whether it's like the pyro, whether
- 6:27Speaker 4: it's like the like bands. Yeah, to go all out
- 6:31Speaker 4: like that, it's pretty crazy. Okay, wait, did you give
- 6:38Speaker 4: your bottom?
- 6:39Speaker 2: You can?
- 6:40Speaker 3: Oh? Uh?
- 6:41Speaker 2: Did you You know you can start because you only
- 6:43Speaker 2: you only did your honorable mention stuff, so you can
- 6:45Speaker 2: go first.
- 6:46Speaker 4: Go ahead. No, I did the the least nervous as Goldbladers.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Oh yes, I apologize, yeah for my first honorable thing.
- 6:54Speaker 2: I up until now, but most recently other than and
- 7:00Speaker 2: Mike Tyson and me and Muhammed Ali, I would say
- 7:04Speaker 2: just anything involving celebrities and matches usually didn't work out well.
- 7:09Speaker 2: They would try, like the Snookie thing, the Donald Trump thing.
- 7:14Speaker 2: I mean in wrestling twenty three, he he didn't do
- 7:16Speaker 2: a lot. He punched Vince and the most awkward thing
- 7:19Speaker 2: took one of the worst stunners of all time. It's
- 7:21Speaker 2: just I get why they do it, but it's just
- 7:22Speaker 2: like when they actually get like involved the matches.
- 7:24Speaker 4: Just like, we don't.
- 7:25Speaker 2: We don't need this shit, I think again, it's all
- 7:27Speaker 2: it's good. It's good marketing.
- 7:28Speaker 4: I get it.
- 7:29Speaker 2: It's it's a wrestling god. Yeah, as a wrestling fan,
- 7:32Speaker 2: just like hey, let mean, hey, there's that famous photo
- 7:36Speaker 2: of Donald Trump with the McMahon family, and it's the
- 7:40Speaker 2: the meme little goes stone cold. Steve Vaston has literally
- 7:42Speaker 2: stunnered sixty five percent of people in this photo and
- 7:45Speaker 2: the only people he didn't stunner are the grand kids.
- 7:52Speaker 4: Oh man, okay, my next worst of US wrestling in
- 7:58Speaker 4: nine is at the Hitman versus Yokozuna.
- 8:01Speaker 2: That's right, you're going.
- 8:02Speaker 4: You know they've been feuding. Obviously, a big crowd outdoor,
- 8:08Speaker 4: great venue, great great, like great night of wrestling. I mean,
- 8:14Speaker 4: for the most part, I could have put Giant Gunzalez
- 8:18Speaker 4: versus underheck ground this list, but I didn't because that's
- 8:22Speaker 4: the on its own. Yeah, because you know, uh, yoko
- 8:29Speaker 4: Zuna goes over, right, and of course you got Hulk
- 8:33Speaker 4: Hogan coming out trying to console Brett. Of course, right,
- 8:37Speaker 4: there have been allies. Oh yeah, Brett, Hulk Hogan's Brett
- 8:40Speaker 4: Hart's best friend all this ship. No, of course not.
- 8:43Speaker 4: But what does hul Cogan do impromptu title.
- 8:46Speaker 2: Match and goes over in like thirty sec just.
- 8:50Speaker 4: Just because yeah, you know, so I think the story
- 8:56Speaker 4: goes It's like a lot of backstage politics. You know,
- 9:01Speaker 4: Let's send the fans, so I'm happy. Oh well, let's
- 9:03Speaker 4: send them fans. So I'm happy because everybody wants to
- 9:05Speaker 4: see how kochin again after they've been spending a few
- 9:08Speaker 4: years trying to build up all these new people. But yeah,
- 9:10Speaker 4: so that was shitty. I didn't like it. I don't know,
- 9:13Speaker 4: I don't think it needed to happen. But yeah, there's
- 9:16Speaker 4: another not great moment, kind of a dud.
- 9:19Speaker 2: Mm hm my fourth or what we're doing? Four or five?
- 9:24Speaker 4: I think we're doing five? Five?
- 9:26Speaker 2: Okay, my fourth? My fourth? This honorable mention? Uh I,
- 9:35Speaker 2: it's it's almost as you could say, they get multiple
- 9:37Speaker 2: categories are actually no, Actually, let me may track that
- 9:43Speaker 2: this obviously is not really a thing. I mean that
- 9:44Speaker 2: can still depending on how how your patience levels on something,
- 9:48Speaker 2: it's will be a thing. But for me, it's just
- 9:49Speaker 2: long WrestleManias. We were fortunate enough. Obviously it was stream
- 9:55Speaker 2: were forced off to working out get the ship for
- 9:56Speaker 2: free other than paying for the subscription fees and stuff
- 9:59Speaker 2: like that. But like these the stuff used to cost
- 10:01Speaker 2: like sixty seventy eighty dollars for peoples and stuff like that.
- 10:04Speaker 2: But it got to the point where like somebody's WrestleMania's
- 10:07Speaker 2: were like what was I think thirty five was like
- 10:09Speaker 2: eight nine hours long? And it's like why and then
- 10:12Speaker 2: like look up Russemania thirty five New Jersey. Look up,
- 10:15Speaker 2: just look at the you can look up the backle
- 10:18Speaker 2: that happened with the audience when they tried to leave
- 10:20Speaker 2: all the train, all the transport all the transportations. Trains
- 10:23Speaker 2: were shut down because it was after hours for them,
- 10:26Speaker 2: so they were done. Ubers were charging like one hundreds
- 10:29Speaker 2: of dollars just to get home, and it's just like
- 10:31Speaker 2: it's there's no reason that you need to have wrestle
- 10:32Speaker 2: Maya for eight nine hours. And that was really the
- 10:37Speaker 2: WrestleMania that pushed. And then again it got it got
- 10:39Speaker 2: to you know, the big cheese at the time, and
- 10:42Speaker 2: I'm shot actually change his mind where it's like, okay,
- 10:44Speaker 2: we can do two nights, and there are some somebody's
- 10:46Speaker 2: wrestlemans can drag on for two nights because it's like
- 10:49Speaker 2: you're doing two nights of five hours of you know,
- 10:53Speaker 2: wrestle Mania and stuff like that. But they always try
- 10:56Speaker 2: to like spice up and change scenes here and there.
- 10:58Speaker 2: But it was just theas from like I want to say,
- 11:02Speaker 2: like what it was like twenty I want to say,
- 11:06Speaker 2: I remember twenty seven being it just wasn't gonna wrestleming,
- 11:10Speaker 2: but I remember that one being very fucking lawn. But
- 11:13Speaker 2: it was just like the four and a half five
- 11:15Speaker 2: hours Somnia's just like you don't need that, there's no need.
- 11:18Speaker 2: And again obviously it was only one night. One night.
- 11:20Speaker 2: Show wasn't a two night thing. But it was just
- 11:23Speaker 2: like it was just how it was. It was like
- 11:25Speaker 2: whenever it was just a three and a half hour
- 11:27Speaker 2: of pay per view, like it was before all this
- 11:29Speaker 2: digital stuff, Like the people that were on the card.
- 11:33Speaker 2: Unfortunate as it was that people who weren't on the cards,
- 11:35Speaker 2: like those people who were on the card usually deserve
- 11:38Speaker 2: to be on there, Like they had the most compelling
- 11:40Speaker 2: stories to be on there. Sure you would have your
- 11:42Speaker 2: random multimn match, you would have your Playboy Bunny fight,
- 11:45Speaker 2: pillow fight shit like whatever marketing, but like when you
- 11:49Speaker 2: have that those restims are eight nine hours long, it's
- 11:53Speaker 2: like fucking kill me this right, So that that would
- 11:59Speaker 2: be my fourth Uh no bueno? Yeah, so go ahead, sorry,
- 12:03Speaker 2: I can continue.
- 12:04Speaker 4: Oh you're good. My number three it's actually one you've
- 12:09Speaker 4: mentioned already, and so oddly enough another one where Stone
- 12:15Speaker 4: Cold was the special guest referee was that Battle of
- 12:20Speaker 4: the Billionaires, uh, Donald Trump versus Vince McMahon. I'm not
- 12:26Speaker 4: even sure what the steaks of this weear, but I
- 12:28Speaker 4: know one of them was whoever lost had their head shame.
- 12:30Speaker 2: That was literally that was the only steaks that was it.
- 12:34Speaker 2: I don't know if there's each other pick a guy
- 12:36Speaker 2: like Vince pick Umaga, the Trump picked the Trump Trump
- 12:40Speaker 2: picked Bobby Lashley, and then the board quink wink, nudge, nudge.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Just to give a little more spice, they put Austin
- 12:46Speaker 2: as the referee.
- 12:49Speaker 4: But Jays will as we'll come to find out, whenever
- 12:53Speaker 4: Stone Cold is the special guest referee for something, it's
- 12:57Speaker 4: not it's not a good look. No, it's not a
- 13:01Speaker 4: good sign. But like, yeah, you have these two guys,
- 13:04Speaker 4: two workers and Maga and Bobby Lashley, which were like,
- 13:08Speaker 4: you know, really really like putting in a lot of
- 13:12Speaker 4: really solid work, Like you have Oomaga rest in Peace.
- 13:17Speaker 4: He's was phenomenally gifted as an athlete and you know,
- 13:22Speaker 4: was soundled with a character that you might call a
- 13:24Speaker 4: little regressive, but like still like they were giving him
- 13:27Speaker 4: big spots, big moments building him up as his monster.
- 13:31Speaker 4: You have Bobby Lashley, who's you know, incredibly incredibly talented athlete.
- 13:38Speaker 4: It's still going today, hass yeah. Literally, And if these
- 13:44Speaker 4: guys were to just have a match match like that
- 13:47Speaker 4: would have been a fucking phenomenal. But then you have
- 13:49Speaker 4: all the pomp and circumstance of Vince mcpan doing his
- 13:52Speaker 4: thing and Donald Trump being megomaniac, and you know, it's
- 13:56Speaker 4: just looking back on it, it's like you're knowing what
- 14:00Speaker 4: we know now about both of the men involved, it's
- 14:03Speaker 4: like it gives you fucking queasy feeling. You know, you
- 14:07Speaker 4: still have the iconic moment of Ends getting his head
- 14:10Speaker 4: shaved and don't cold hoping his fucking head back and
- 14:13Speaker 4: all that shit, and it is what it is. But
- 14:16Speaker 4: it's still like looking back on it, it's like just
- 14:19Speaker 4: too to just you know, narcissists jerking each other off basically,
- 14:25Speaker 4: and uh, it's kind of a bad time, bad vibes.
- 14:30Speaker 4: So yeah, that was my number three, and let's let's
- 14:34Speaker 4: just say the next two are fucking abysmal.
- 14:37Speaker 5: So oh boy, my number three. No boy, no media moment,
- 14:47Speaker 5: I don't.
- 14:48Speaker 2: I'm gonna laugh if you have this in yours. It's
- 14:51Speaker 2: not a match, it's a moment of a match. It's brock
- 14:54Speaker 2: Les almost killing himself. Uh, you can look it up wrestling.
- 15:00Speaker 2: In nineteen he didn't would call the Shooting Star press. Essentially,
- 15:04Speaker 2: what it is is the guy jumps backwards, but he
- 15:06Speaker 2: launches himself forward to do a backflip, but he lands
- 15:10Speaker 2: like a body splash on the guy. It's a movie
- 15:13Speaker 2: he had done before, he had rarely done it. A
- 15:16Speaker 2: lot of guys said you should do it. I mean
- 15:19Speaker 2: a lot. Here's a funny thing. He's this same thing
- 15:21Speaker 2: about Lesnard. He obviously not much so somewhere because he
- 15:23Speaker 2: doesn't do anything. He doesn't do interviews that often, but
- 15:27Speaker 2: whenever he does, he always talks shit about that moment.
- 15:30Speaker 2: But he never comes out and says who told him
- 15:32Speaker 2: to do it? But like twenty people have come out
- 15:35Speaker 2: and said they told him to do it, but essentially
- 15:39Speaker 2: what happened was sorry, what happened was he did the jump.
- 15:43Speaker 2: But if you if you've seen if you've seen a
- 15:45Speaker 2: wrestling match, you've seen a shooting star press. You know,
- 15:47Speaker 2: it's like a it's like a one fluid motion. The
- 15:49Speaker 2: guy jumps backwards and just it's a perfect circle. But
- 15:52Speaker 2: if you watch it, you can literally see he hesitates
- 15:54Speaker 2: in mid air and then he lands right on his
- 15:57Speaker 2: fucking head.
- 16:00Speaker 4: Literally.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Yeah, And they pretty much literally would say to him,
- 16:03Speaker 2: is the fact that this is two thousand and three
- 16:05Speaker 2: brock Lezer. While Brocklester's always been a freak, this is
- 16:08Speaker 2: this is peak freak leaure where his neck was the
- 16:11Speaker 2: size of my house.
- 16:13Speaker 4: Not to mention his traps being like as big as
- 16:15Speaker 4: fucking some people's heads.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, And that was the thing too. If you
- 16:22Speaker 2: watch it, it was weird because like, well again because
- 16:25Speaker 2: kurdan Angle, who he was supposed to do it to.
- 16:26Speaker 2: He said, like, they both got fucked up. They both
- 16:28Speaker 2: got hurt during that the match before that happened, and
- 16:31Speaker 2: if you watch it, kurd Angle was way too far
- 16:33Speaker 2: in the first place, was probably why he hesitated.
- 16:35Speaker 3: That's another thing.
- 16:36Speaker 4: When people do shooting star presses, the people like the
- 16:38Speaker 4: opponents literally sometimes just right in front.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Of them, like like three feet and four feet max. No,
- 16:44Speaker 2: like like eight feet.
- 16:47Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 16:49Speaker 2: So you know, if you just watch it, you just
- 16:50Speaker 2: like lesser Mania nineteen, you're gonna see it. I mean,
- 16:53Speaker 2: you know, if you were a discretion advised nothing graphic happens.
- 16:56Speaker 2: You just actually, if anything, the angle kind of blocks
- 17:00Speaker 2: a little bit because angle's right there, but you can
- 17:02Speaker 2: still kind of you can you can you can get
- 17:03Speaker 2: the jazz and and then that was supposed to be
- 17:06Speaker 2: the finish. But then what happened was they just stood
- 17:09Speaker 2: up and les five the unodospace. It's like it was
- 17:13Speaker 2: so random, but it's like that's how the match was
- 17:16Speaker 2: supposed to end. Unfortunately it didn't, could it. It would
- 17:20Speaker 2: have been a moment we were talking about today, because
- 17:21Speaker 2: like a guy who's three hundred and twenty pounds that
- 17:24Speaker 2: can move like a middle linebacker or wide receiver should
- 17:27Speaker 2: be doing able to do that stuff because he had
- 17:30Speaker 2: never done it on He had done it like in
- 17:32Speaker 2: his developmental stuff, but he never done it on television
- 17:35Speaker 2: where the whole world can see it. So especially then
- 17:38Speaker 2: with it or not being as big as it is now.
- 17:40Speaker 2: I mean it would Again, I'm not saying it would
- 17:42Speaker 2: have been Hogan's slimon Andre moment, but it would have
- 17:44Speaker 2: been in that category.
- 17:45Speaker 3: So fair enough.
- 17:50Speaker 4: Yeah, I think uh number two, actually.
- 17:56Speaker 2: He got two, sorry to left.
- 18:00Speaker 4: So the twenty fifth Anniversary of WrestleMania aka the twenty
- 18:05Speaker 4: fifth WrestleMania, which would not make it the twenty fifth anniversary,
- 18:09Speaker 4: but I digress. There was a match called the Miss
- 18:13Speaker 4: WrestleMania Battle Royal.
- 18:16Speaker 3: Oh thought you're going yourself.
- 18:19Speaker 2: It's not where I thought you're going with this.
- 18:22Speaker 4: You might think to yourself, Wow, they're gonna crown this
- 18:28Speaker 4: first ever female superstar as Miss WrestleMania. It's over the
- 18:35Speaker 4: top rope Battle Royal. Nothing crazy. You know, at this
- 18:40Speaker 4: point in time, women were still fighting for a spot,
- 18:45Speaker 4: you know what I mean? Yeah, you have the Divas Champion,
- 18:50Speaker 4: uh you know and the Women's Champion in the match.
- 18:56Speaker 4: You think maybe they're one of them is gonna win it.
- 18:58Speaker 4: You'd think maybe a veteran and superstar would win it.
- 19:02Speaker 4: You'd think one of the many tuper uber talented female
- 19:05Speaker 4: athletes would win this match. And to that, my friend
- 19:08Speaker 4: I would say o contrare, Oh, you are quite mistaken,
- 19:14Speaker 4: because at this point you're in the full on ship
- 19:19Speaker 4: storm fever dream of late two thousands, late two thousands WWE,
- 19:29Speaker 4: where you had celebrity guests, celebrity hosts, and crazy shit
- 19:33Speaker 4: happening all the time and so so yeah, not only
- 19:42Speaker 4: was Kid Rock part of this during entrances, but the
- 19:47Speaker 4: winner of the match is not only not a woman
- 19:53Speaker 4: but a man. Not only but a man, but a man.
- 19:57Speaker 4: In drag One, Santino Morella, creating as his twin sister
- 20:01Speaker 4: Santina Marilla, be crowned Miss WrestleMania and go on to
- 20:12Speaker 4: defend the title multiple times. So yeah, what the fuck?
- 20:19Speaker 4: And uh, in the more modern era where people aren't
- 20:22Speaker 4: fucking where it's not like some kind of crazy, narcissistic
- 20:27Speaker 4: makemo maniac running the company and somebody with some sense
- 20:32Speaker 4: and decency, they would pay this bit off in one
- 20:35Speaker 4: of the first, uh the I think the first women's
- 20:40Speaker 4: real rumbo match where Santina would make her return and
- 20:45Speaker 4: immediately get thrown out by everybody else in the match.
- 20:50Speaker 2: Just you know what I call that show? Do you
- 20:52Speaker 2: want know what I call that? Long term we came.
- 20:57Speaker 4: It's good ship. It's good ship, just a black mark
- 21:01Speaker 4: and kind of indicative of where things were and thankfully
- 21:05Speaker 4: where things are now. So yeah, there you go. Progress.
- 21:11Speaker 2: My two worst, my number two worst. This is an
- 21:14Speaker 2: one that at the time it was shocking, but it's
- 21:17Speaker 2: also one of those ones like we're posts like how
- 21:19Speaker 2: everything's going. However, went afterwards it was like, yeah, that
- 21:22Speaker 2: was not the right choice, uh Russelling seventeen Austin turning
- 21:25Speaker 2: hail Events, he says, other than like him walking out,
- 21:29Speaker 2: it's his biggest regret. It was again, it was a
- 21:32Speaker 2: huge shocking moment at the best WrestleMania I've probably ever produced.
- 21:38Speaker 2: It's just one of those things where like was seen
- 21:43Speaker 2: and now him saying why he's going here? It made
- 21:47Speaker 2: you can argue it makes sense. At that time Austin
- 21:51Speaker 2: was still at his peak. He said he did it
- 21:53Speaker 2: because he thought he just he just wasn't as hot
- 21:56Speaker 2: as he was, which is obviously not true because he
- 22:01Speaker 2: literally did it in Texas in front of his fans.
- 22:06Speaker 2: So here he is, he's joined. He's literally it's Jesus.
- 22:08Speaker 2: It's Jesus joining the devil. Essentially in terms of like importance,
- 22:13Speaker 2: you know, it's Batman joining the Joker. Yeah, but the
- 22:17Speaker 2: people are like, fuck yeah, be up the Rock. It's
- 22:19Speaker 2: like you're you're you're literally in your home state, like
- 22:22Speaker 2: you're literally home, you know. It's literally like Batman joining
- 22:26Speaker 2: the Joker, but he does it in front of his parents,
- 22:28Speaker 2: and his parents like, oh, we love you, We love you,
- 22:30Speaker 2: pro no matter what you do, we love you. It's
- 22:32Speaker 2: like that's literally what it was. And then and then
- 22:35Speaker 2: the father and then the father to it was he's
- 22:37Speaker 2: still heal. But then The Rock left to do a movie.
- 22:42Speaker 2: Triple Ah was supposed to become the good guy, but
- 22:44Speaker 2: he didn't want to at first, and then he wants
- 22:47Speaker 2: he wanted to build it up more, which made sense,
- 22:49Speaker 2: but then he got hurt. And then your biggest and
- 22:53Speaker 2: your biggest protagonist to the big antagonist was the entertainer
- 22:57Speaker 2: and Kane, which no offense to them. They're not the
- 23:00Speaker 2: locker stone Cold. And then Kurt Angle wasn't what he
- 23:04Speaker 2: was at No one was on that level. And then
- 23:07Speaker 2: by the time The Rock came back from filming The
- 23:09Speaker 2: Scorpion King or the whichever one it was, the Rundown
- 23:11Speaker 2: whichevery movie was, it was too late. It was done.
- 23:14Speaker 2: That thing was done. It was just like the grave
- 23:17Speaker 2: was buried. It's just like there's nothing, it's it's it's dead,
- 23:19Speaker 2: like no one cares. And that's what it led to.
- 23:23Speaker 2: I mean at the time, I was like, you know,
- 23:25Speaker 2: I was like jereditary bunch, like you a pitch? What
- 23:28Speaker 2: the like? Why why would you do this? Why why
- 23:32Speaker 2: you saw bitch? Like literally, because that been Jim Ross
- 23:35Speaker 2: triple h on anything and you're just gonna hear five
- 23:37Speaker 2: minutes of Jim Ross is going your son of a bitch.
- 23:40Speaker 2: But yeah, for me, number two is on Austin Turned
- 23:43Speaker 2: Hill because obviously what happened after that too, Because Eve,
- 23:45Speaker 2: when I mean again, even though I was like, what
- 23:48Speaker 2: how old was I in two and one? I hate
- 23:50Speaker 2: to say that I was. I wasn't even I wasn't
- 23:52Speaker 2: even uh seven yet I was only I was still
- 23:56Speaker 2: six technically, and even I was like why Like the
- 24:01Speaker 2: FORR example, if you watched it, okay, there are you
- 24:04Speaker 2: can see all the fans reactions. Steve Lawson is beating
- 24:08Speaker 2: the ship out of the rock of the steel chair
- 24:10Speaker 2: and there's really fans smiling, laughing, doing suck it like
- 24:13Speaker 2: they're not like stop it they're like laughing as Vince
- 24:16Speaker 2: McMahon is watching, is like edging him in the beat
- 24:19Speaker 2: up the rock mart They're laughing, and it's like, Uh,
- 24:23Speaker 2: any other place it probably would have worked a little better.
- 24:26Speaker 2: I still don't think it would have worked. But that's
- 24:27Speaker 2: my number two, all.
- 24:30Speaker 4: Right, my number one number. Where's the WrestleMania moments? Last match?
- 24:35Speaker 4: No you mentioned? Twenty seven WrestleMania twenty seven Michael Cole
- 24:45Speaker 4: versus Jerry the King.
- 24:47Speaker 2: Uh, that's a good number one special.
- 24:50Speaker 4: Guest referee You guessed it? Stone Coo. Jerry King Lawler looking.
- 25:01Speaker 2: For two fans of Steve Wause. He's sure on his
- 25:03Speaker 2: bed list a lot.
- 25:04Speaker 4: Oh trust me, Well you just wait and see the
- 25:09Speaker 4: good list is the good list. Jerry King Lawler obviously
- 25:15Speaker 4: made his name as a wrestler during the Territory eras
- 25:18Speaker 4: was really popular. Came on a WWE as an announcer,
- 25:22Speaker 4: paired with j R. Jim Ross for a long time,
- 25:25Speaker 4: but also did broadcasting with Michael Cole. In the late
- 25:30Speaker 4: two thousands. You had a storyline where Michael Cole was
- 25:37Speaker 4: a heel announcer and boy did he do a good job.
- 25:41Speaker 4: We hated the ship out of him, and he was
- 25:46Speaker 4: in every segment every match heard his voice got super
- 25:51Speaker 4: fucking annoying. I think this is also the era of
- 25:54Speaker 4: the anonymous GM is just basically a laptop on a
- 25:58Speaker 4: podium that would get random messages somehow. Also, the audio
- 26:02Speaker 4: was connected to all the speakers in the arena every time,
- 26:04Speaker 4: and it was just like, okay, random times this GM
- 26:07Speaker 4: would give stipulations or make changes and whatever. But ultimately
- 26:12Speaker 4: this led to a match, a feud between Jerry and
- 26:14Speaker 4: Michael Cole, and it led to a match, and the
- 26:18Speaker 4: match sucked because one of the wrestlers was retired way
- 26:23Speaker 4: past his prime. The other was not a wrestler at all, correct,
- 26:27Speaker 4: and so the match shocked. It sucked, and it was
- 26:30Speaker 4: waste of time, and it was made even worse by
- 26:31Speaker 4: the fact that that spot could have gone to all
- 26:36Speaker 4: the other talent that had been trained and were grinding
- 26:39Speaker 4: and had you know, TV time and things taken away
- 26:43Speaker 4: from him from this segment. So just a fucking waste
- 26:45Speaker 4: of time and yeah, and they both just went back
- 26:51Speaker 4: to announcing and whatever.
- 26:53Speaker 2: And the unfortunately couple a couple months later, Michael Cole's
- 26:56Speaker 2: hill turned got kabashed because Jerry Lawer had a heart attack.
- 27:00Speaker 4: Yeah, shoot, shoot, it was like a year later, but still,
- 27:03Speaker 4: I mean, still whatever. They still had to sit next
- 27:06Speaker 4: to each other, and it was weird man again, late
- 27:10Speaker 4: two thousands, weird times.
- 27:15Speaker 2: So I'm not this is my number one really quick.
- 27:18Speaker 2: Sorry you mentioned WrestleMania nine. I was trying not to
- 27:23Speaker 2: do ones I haven't seen personally, but I get but
- 27:27Speaker 2: that's a moment that even I know that wasn't a
- 27:28Speaker 2: good moment. So I want to say a dishonorable mention.
- 27:32Speaker 2: This could be a dishonorable and honorable mention for good moments,
- 27:36Speaker 2: that being the ending of WrestleMania twenty the what's some
- 27:42Speaker 2: people call the Peels. WrestleMania essentially had two guys that
- 27:45Speaker 2: no one would ever thought win the titles, and they
- 27:46Speaker 2: lid closed out the show with the championships, hugging and
- 27:49Speaker 2: summon with her with one of the guy's family, one
- 27:52Speaker 2: said person being Crispin wat And obviously, if you're a
- 27:56Speaker 2: wrestling fan, you know what happened in two thousand and seven.
- 27:59Speaker 2: Not my more need to be said. It's unfortunately it's
- 28:02Speaker 2: a moment at the times, a moment I will never
- 28:04Speaker 2: forget watching. But now it's very hard to watch because
- 28:09Speaker 2: of what happened with him and his family. As Paulman
- 28:12Speaker 2: once said, as a performer, one of the best ever
- 28:14Speaker 2: do it as an individual. Fuck them? So enough more
- 28:17Speaker 2: enough to be said there. My number one worst this is.
- 28:22Speaker 2: This is because I was trying to think, because like
- 28:24Speaker 2: there's like some there's some really bad moments. I'm not
- 28:26Speaker 2: gonna lie. I did not expect you to say Michael
- 28:29Speaker 2: Cole and Jerry the Kyle Walller that one. That one
- 28:34Speaker 2: definitely threw me for a loop. But uh, it's a
- 28:36Speaker 2: personal one of mine. How I word this, I'm gonna
- 28:46Speaker 2: spoil it. I've even got to the best ones, and
- 28:48Speaker 2: it is a selfish one.
- 28:50Speaker 4: Uh.
- 28:50Speaker 2: My best and worst is wrestle Mania twenty two. Best
- 28:56Speaker 2: because I got to go to WrestleMania with my family
- 28:59Speaker 2: and I'm it was the last arena held WrestleMania. They
- 29:03Speaker 2: have been stadiums ever since. On the one Warehouse with COVID.
- 29:07Speaker 2: The reason I say worst is because what the card
- 29:12Speaker 2: was going to be. So the card was a good card.
- 29:19Speaker 2: It was a great show, it really was. It's a
- 29:22Speaker 2: show I'll never forget, obviously, But when there were potentially
- 29:28Speaker 2: matches by the way that they teased on television, matches
- 29:32Speaker 2: potentially like or not even just on TV, in their
- 29:35Speaker 2: own platforms content matches potentially like Batista and brock Lesner, Yeah,
- 29:43Speaker 2: or another one that was going to happen unfortunately Eddie
- 29:45Speaker 2: grow passed away, Sean Michaels and Eddie Guerrero or here's
- 29:50Speaker 2: what how about when they tease not even like what
- 29:55Speaker 2: eight months Austin and Hogan.
- 30:00Speaker 1: Like it.
- 30:02Speaker 2: I still get pissed about that. I'm so grateful, I'm
- 30:04Speaker 2: so happy I got to go. I had such a
- 30:06Speaker 2: great time. It's a it's a it's like, no matter
- 30:08Speaker 2: like how many shows I go to it, I always
- 30:10Speaker 2: hit my top five just because of like selfish, like
- 30:11Speaker 2: it's WrestleMania. But it's just like there was some but yeah,
- 30:15Speaker 2: it's like dank Ferrik what that show could have been
- 30:19Speaker 2: or was supposed to be. And of course there's it's
- 30:20Speaker 2: every year you hear these potential matches at what rumor
- 30:23Speaker 2: and a you window. But it wasn't even that these
- 30:25Speaker 2: were rumors. These were matches other than Sean Michaels, Eddie Guerrero.
- 30:29Speaker 2: The other things I mentioned were mentioned in some form
- 30:33Speaker 2: of their content. Hogan literally called them on on TV,
- 30:37Speaker 2: which Austin apparently legit he had no idea what was
- 30:40Speaker 2: gonna happen, and he was pissed about it. He was
- 30:42Speaker 2: legitimately pissed. Yeah, and that was just him Evince being
- 30:46Speaker 2: a jit.
- 30:47Speaker 4: That ended up happening was still like great in some regards.
- 30:50Speaker 4: You had Yes, Edge versus m.
- 30:54Speaker 2: Right, Yeah, Edge Foley with the fire table, Vincent Sean
- 30:59Speaker 2: with the that was the night DX is pretty much
- 31:01Speaker 2: because they're both doing sucking and stuff like that, and
- 31:03Speaker 2: Sean of a giant ass ladder. Rick Flair took a
- 31:07Speaker 2: super Flex off the ladder like a dumb ass.
- 31:09Speaker 4: Yeah, there was a second money in the bank. Would
- 31:13Speaker 4: win that and go on to have his run was
- 31:16Speaker 4: still legendary. You had Ray Mysterio winning the Big One,
- 31:21Speaker 4: which I just watched a review of this. Actually today
- 31:25Speaker 4: we're fans really booing Ray Mysterio.
- 31:27Speaker 2: Yes, crazy, there were a lot of there were some
- 31:31Speaker 2: Ray fans. I mean, my brother and I we were
- 31:33Speaker 2: cheering on Forrey. It's just when kurd Angle came out,
- 31:37Speaker 2: it was just like this, this was wrestling machine kurding
- 31:41Speaker 2: wh just he's I mean, this is unfortunately and thankfully
- 31:45Speaker 2: it's actually kind of like people don't call him Perkangle anymore. Thankfully.
- 31:47Speaker 2: This is before he was the TNA and all that
- 31:49Speaker 2: stuff came out. But then he would just literally come
- 31:51Speaker 2: on to w TV and just supplex this is the
- 31:53Speaker 2: original Superplex City. He would just come out superplex people
- 31:56Speaker 2: and scream that's all we do. And everyone just loved
- 32:03Speaker 2: it because he came out and the I mean, I'm
- 32:04Speaker 2: not gonna lie, the players went fucking wild. But yeah,
- 32:07Speaker 2: and also I think it was because like also the
- 32:08Speaker 2: match was everyone the match was cut short because like
- 32:10Speaker 2: you because again if you're a wrestling fan, you can
- 32:12Speaker 2: especially during that age, like all right, we got four
- 32:14Speaker 2: hours here, it's like, all right, something went long because
- 32:18Speaker 2: we have free matches left and like someone's gonna catch
- 32:22Speaker 2: Unfortunately that match, if that match would have been like
- 32:24Speaker 2: a half hour, I think it was like twelve minutes.
- 32:26Speaker 2: So yeah, that would be that is my number one worst,
- 32:30Speaker 2: not saying it's the worst WrestleMania, but that's my number
- 32:32Speaker 2: one worst for selfish reasons, and so my number one
- 32:34Speaker 2: best for selfish reasons. So yeah, all right, that stuff said, Yeah,
- 32:45Speaker 2: I'll do I'll start with the number five. You don't mind,
- 32:48Speaker 2: we'll switch up here because obviously I'm gonna have a
- 32:49Speaker 2: shorter list than you are at this point now because
- 32:52Speaker 2: I gave away my number one. As I said, my
- 32:55Speaker 2: honorable mention was the stages number five. I do when
- 33:00Speaker 2: I go back to the circle things, even though we
- 33:01Speaker 2: weren't alive for it. For me, it's WrestleMania three, Hogan
- 33:05Speaker 2: slam of the Giant. It is the moment then put
- 33:09Speaker 2: professional wrestling in the map. Like WrestleMania one is what
- 33:13Speaker 2: saved it was what saved the WWE, but WrestleMania three
- 33:16Speaker 2: is what saved professional wrestling because like you literally have
- 33:19Speaker 2: and again, wrestling fan, you study it. You know, Andre
- 33:24Speaker 2: was slammed a thousand times, but in terms of the
- 33:28Speaker 2: main casual viewer, which was pretty much ninety five percent
- 33:30Speaker 2: of the people this time, no one ever saw that.
- 33:32Speaker 2: And Hogan slammed the Giant, gave him the like drop
- 33:34Speaker 2: and won the title or he kept he's the ship,
- 33:37Speaker 2: he'd retained, but like no one ever knew that or
- 33:41Speaker 2: saw that, and it was it's a huge it's a
- 33:43Speaker 2: huge moment. They replay it every fucking week, which I
- 33:46Speaker 2: don't blame them in front of ninety three thousand, ninety
- 33:50Speaker 2: three thousand people. But that's my number five brother, damn dude,
- 33:58Speaker 2: And I guarantee you, and I guarant to you those
- 34:00Speaker 2: little kids that were crying because of that beer thing.
- 34:04Speaker 2: I've probably seen that video a thousand times. That's probably
- 34:08Speaker 2: their favite wrestling that's probably their favorite wrestling moment.
- 34:12Speaker 4: Sorry, oh man, oh dude. Yeah, that's fucking fucking hard,
- 34:22Speaker 4: hard list to make, but and it's hard to find
- 34:27Speaker 4: the right fucking order, dude. But umm shit, Okay, I
- 34:40Speaker 4: don't think I gave an honorable mention.
- 34:43Speaker 2: For best.
- 34:43Speaker 4: You did not know for best I did not, Ah, dude.
- 34:49Speaker 2: I think if you're in a jam, just acknowledge your
- 34:53Speaker 2: tribal chief.
- 34:53Speaker 4: I'm sorry, I think an honorable mention. No, that you
- 34:58Speaker 4: mentioned it, though, Like I think an honorable mention should
- 35:01Speaker 4: be the Okay, that's gonna be number one, that's gonna
- 35:13Speaker 4: be I want okay, okay, I want to say honorable
- 35:18Speaker 4: mention kind of in the same vein of my last
- 35:21Speaker 4: honorable mention because it was like good and bad. Yeah,
- 35:27Speaker 4: it's gonna be the streak ending broadcast versus Undertaker from
- 35:33Speaker 4: from thirty as the best. Wow. Okay, it's just like
- 35:39Speaker 4: it's such a shock, you know, hold on.
- 35:45Speaker 2: This this one no that I'm not gonna lie. That
- 35:48Speaker 2: was that was one of the last times in wrestling.
- 35:50Speaker 2: I was genuinely shocked because I'll never forget that's the
- 35:53Speaker 2: first wrestling menia I watch with my now wife, my
- 35:56Speaker 2: now wife, right, And of course she, you know, she's
- 36:00Speaker 2: been a good she's been a good spouse, good partner.
- 36:03Speaker 2: She's like, okay, like this is what you're into, I
- 36:05Speaker 2: might as well watch and just get and see what
- 36:07Speaker 2: it's all about. And she didn't understand the gravit house
- 36:11Speaker 2: of like why literally everyone it because like okay, for example,
- 36:14Speaker 2: I mean you remember old house. Her and I are
- 36:16Speaker 2: in the back room by the pool table watching it.
- 36:18Speaker 2: My family's in the front room, and she just literally
- 36:21Speaker 2: hears Scot goed, what the fuck.
- 36:26Speaker 4: That's so? Then he's fuck actually.
- 36:31Speaker 2: Because again and everyone's reaction it was gim because no
- 36:33Speaker 2: one ever expected because it was what twenty it was
- 36:35Speaker 2: twenty in one or twenty one in one, it was
- 36:38Speaker 2: one of those. But like I mean, paulm he said,
- 36:40Speaker 2: every fucking way I remember by now, yeah it was
- 36:42Speaker 2: twenty and I'm pretty sure it's twenty and one or no,
- 36:44Speaker 2: twenty one. No, it was twenty one and o and
- 36:46Speaker 2: then twenty one in one and Broccolans are broke. It
- 36:49Speaker 2: was twenty one straight years he won WrestleMania and Broccolsner,
- 36:53Speaker 2: which apparently take her legitimate got fucked up.
- 36:57Speaker 4: Like, yeah, I hesitated to put it on. I'm kind
- 37:00Speaker 4: of regretting at putting it there. That's not on my
- 37:02Speaker 4: list honorable mention that I also honorable mentioned the Heist
- 37:08Speaker 4: of the Century. What was that? Thirty one thirty one?
- 37:12Speaker 4: The next year, Lesnar versus reigns with Seth catching in
- 37:17Speaker 4: the money in the bank, adding up stealing the title
- 37:21Speaker 4: like winning the winning the match, big shock, kind of
- 37:25Speaker 4: the same kind of shock value. No one's ever really
- 37:27Speaker 4: done it during the main event like that, And for
- 37:30Speaker 4: him to win, especially with the tear that Lesner is
- 37:33Speaker 4: on over the last few years, crazy good times, big, big,
- 37:38Speaker 4: big finish, kind of a shocking finish and to end
- 37:43Speaker 4: the show with that is a pretty bold move. I
- 37:45Speaker 4: think it paid out for everybody involved in the Little
- 37:46Speaker 4: Man almost everybody anyway. But yeah, my actual number five, okay, okay,
- 37:58Speaker 4: that's going to be number five shit, shit, shit shit
- 38:03Speaker 4: that's up there. I want to say, okay, okay, okay, okay,
- 38:09Speaker 4: but yeah, got it. I'm gonna go with Koffee Mania
- 38:13Speaker 4: Kofe Madiamania thirty five. This one's got kind of a
- 38:17Speaker 4: personal connection for me because I think I was I
- 38:20Speaker 4: saw some of the build up for this match live.
- 38:25Speaker 4: There were these gauntlets. You were at the Gauntlets show.
- 38:28Speaker 4: I forgot about that. Were you there too? Or no?
- 38:31Speaker 2: No, I wasn't there, right, yeah, right?
- 38:35Speaker 4: And I can't remember. Was it Kofe? Yeah, Kofe fought
- 38:39Speaker 4: like six other dudes or was it the did I
- 38:42Speaker 4: see the New Day one?
- 38:44Speaker 2: Did you see? I think you saw the New Day
- 38:46Speaker 2: where the nud like he had they had to fight
- 38:48Speaker 2: on his behalf in his gauntlet, right, So they.
- 38:50Speaker 4: Were building this up really strong. Again, Daniel Bryan was
- 38:54Speaker 4: the heel in this situation as the world champion. Somehow
- 38:57Speaker 4: he's the heel even though he was fighting on the
- 38:59Speaker 4: planets like advocating for people to eat.
- 39:02Speaker 2: Fact he got a hem belt was fucking hilarious.
- 39:04Speaker 4: It's awesome, It's actually awesome. But yeah, a lot of
- 39:08Speaker 4: build up for this A lot of people. It was
- 39:10Speaker 4: really booked as like so many people were in Kofe's
- 39:12Speaker 4: corner and it had such a big, you know, emotional
- 39:18Speaker 4: weight to it, and he would go over. He would
- 39:21Speaker 4: win his first world title. We won't talk about how
- 39:24Speaker 4: we lost it. You know, it happened, you know, to
- 39:29Speaker 4: talk about why or how it happened. But the match itself,
- 39:32Speaker 4: the emotional weight to it, the finish was great. I
- 39:36Speaker 4: think he counted the knee with like the Troubling Paradise
- 39:38Speaker 4: or some shit, big big, you know, big big ups
- 39:44Speaker 4: to Koch and the New Day, And yeah, everybody wanted
- 39:49Speaker 4: to see it, and it was one of those really
- 39:51Speaker 4: feel good moments to your jerkers, What do you want
- 39:55Speaker 4: to say? What else can you say? Five star moment?
- 39:58Speaker 2: I start the wait I game number one two was?
- 40:03Speaker 2: I said number one was twenty two was number five?
- 40:05Speaker 2: What do you get number five? Two? Oh yeah, Holgan
- 40:08Speaker 2: Simon and uh four for me, I'm just gonna say again,
- 40:17Speaker 2: it's supposed to be the best moment, but I always
- 40:19Speaker 2: say moments in this space. Uh it's any wrestle media
- 40:22Speaker 2: Undertaker entrance, even when he was doing the biker gimmick shit.
- 40:28Speaker 2: Every time, I don't take you may to wrestling entrance.
- 40:30Speaker 4: It was.
- 40:34Speaker 2: Unfortunately towards the end it became an ongoing gag and
- 40:37Speaker 2: joke and betting pool thing of like how long is
- 40:39Speaker 2: it gonna take from the walk down to the rhine.
- 40:42Speaker 2: But like it was, they always went above and beyond
- 40:44Speaker 2: for his entrance where there was pyro or I remember
- 40:46Speaker 2: wrestling with thirty where they literally had caskets for every
- 40:49Speaker 2: guy he had ever beat with thirt, nymn it and shit.
- 40:53Speaker 2: They just they always went above and beyond for any
- 40:56Speaker 2: time to take Mad to WrestleMania entrance. It was always
- 40:58Speaker 2: really cool. I mean, there's the nineteen one with Limbiscuit.
- 41:01Speaker 2: We're like heat Fred Durst can't stop cussing that you
- 41:04Speaker 2: keep cutting him and own ship. Yeah, my obviously the
- 41:10Speaker 2: one I too wrestled my twenty two was awesome, my
- 41:13Speaker 2: personal I mean the twenty two one. My personal favorite
- 41:16Speaker 2: is twenty nine where he comes through the stage and
- 41:19Speaker 2: like there's these like they have these guys like dressed
- 41:21Speaker 2: and like all black, and they're like reaching out trying
- 41:23Speaker 2: to grab him like haities rising from hell and shit,
- 41:26Speaker 2: like it's it's badass. That's my personal favorite one I've
- 41:29Speaker 2: ever watched on television. But yeah. For me, it's any undertaker, wrestle,
- 41:33Speaker 2: any entrance.
- 41:34Speaker 3: Hell yeah, I'm sending a trend.
- 41:38Speaker 4: You're kind of going more abstract things, and I'm actually
- 41:42Speaker 4: listing mattresses. But that's fine, that's fine, two different lists.
- 41:45Speaker 2: An't worry.
- 41:45Speaker 4: I have I have, I have a match, Nora, you
- 41:47Speaker 4: have some matches for sure.
- 41:51Speaker 3: Let's see. Uh, I got this one, those that three,
- 42:03Speaker 3: damn it.
- 42:04Speaker 4: Okay, I'm gonna have to kind of fudge the numbers
- 42:07Speaker 4: a little bit, but.
- 42:08Speaker 3: That's all right. M alright, fine, So.
- 42:19Speaker 4: I'm gonna kind of go back and add to my
- 42:21Speaker 4: number five.
- 42:22Speaker 2: Decent ship ship ship ship.
- 42:29Speaker 4: Sorry, I thought I was prepared.
- 42:31Speaker 3: I'm not prepared because I've got.
- 42:33Speaker 4: Too much ship. I've got too much ship.
- 42:36Speaker 3: That's too.
- 42:38Speaker 4: That's too. That's gonna be number one. So I'm gonna
- 42:51Speaker 4: add to my number five. Uh, I'm gonna, I'm gonna.
- 42:56Speaker 4: I'm sorry. I'm gonna relegate kof Mania to an honorable mention.
- 43:01Speaker 3: How dare you?
- 43:02Speaker 4: I'm sorry?
- 43:03Speaker 3: You had a shitt I'm getting well.
- 43:07Speaker 2: No, it's okay. Because icetond Wrestling at thirty five was
- 43:09Speaker 2: when I have a gripe with because it was a
- 43:10Speaker 2: fucking twelve hour WrestleMania. That's the only good moment I
- 43:13Speaker 2: had for that number five.
- 43:14Speaker 4: My number five is WrestleMania thirty. Uh, it's going to
- 43:18Speaker 4: be Daniel O'Brian winning the big one Yreslemania. He wins both.
- 43:23Speaker 4: He beats Randy Orton and Bautista in a triple threat match.
- 43:28Speaker 4: But let's not forget the opening of the show. He
- 43:31Speaker 4: wrestled Triple h for a shot to be in that match, period,
- 43:36Speaker 4: So this guy was pulling double duty against the very
- 43:38Speaker 4: heavy hitters. The triple threat was almost two on one
- 43:42Speaker 4: for the most part because Orton and Batista didn't want
- 43:49Speaker 4: him to be there at all, so they tried to
- 43:50Speaker 4: put him out and with one of the sickest double
- 43:53Speaker 4: finishers through a table you'll ever see, Patista bomb into
- 43:56Speaker 4: an RKO just nuts, you know. And then this is
- 44:00Speaker 4: But this was in the middle of the Yes movement,
- 44:02Speaker 4: right This was full on post supersena the fans want
- 44:06Speaker 4: what the fans want, you know, and trying to shove
- 44:11Speaker 4: other superstars down their throats. They inadvertently created that like
- 44:16Speaker 4: one of the most over superstars ever with Daniel Bryan,
- 44:20Speaker 4: the Yes chance that people still do to this day,
- 44:23Speaker 4: you know, and you know, in probably one of the
- 44:28Speaker 4: smartest moves ever, like Vince booked him to win this
- 44:32Speaker 4: huge match and overcome all the odds, right again, similar
- 44:35Speaker 4: to Kofi Mania. We don't have to talk about what
- 44:36Speaker 4: happened afterwards, but the media moment, that's great. He beat
- 44:42Speaker 4: the authority figures. He beat these two like megastars and
- 44:46Speaker 4: Orton and Batista. This guy who made his name on
- 44:50Speaker 4: the indies, you know, came in WWE with not much
- 44:55Speaker 4: fanfare and got the shitty shitty positions and you know,
- 45:00Speaker 4: made it through all that stuff, stuck it out and
- 45:02Speaker 4: like ended up having this crazy moment. Insane, insane, and
- 45:08Speaker 4: so yeah, that's my number five. Okay, number four, Number
- 45:12Speaker 4: four is going to be uh let's go through the
- 45:17Speaker 4: list here. Number four is WrestleMania seventeen, the Dudley Boys
- 45:25Speaker 4: versus edgend Christian versus Boys for the ww TAG Championships
- 45:29Speaker 4: in the second ever TLC match.
- 45:33Speaker 2: This sorry, rupt, that's my number three.
- 45:36Speaker 4: Actually seems that's fine. That's my number four. So yeah,
- 45:43Speaker 4: I showed in a new era of like extreme you know,
- 45:48Speaker 4: high stakes, full on gonzo. Let's jump off these huge ladders.
- 45:54Speaker 4: Go through tables. Let's do this crazy spot where you know,
- 45:58Speaker 4: Jeff Hardy gets well he's hanging into the title belts
- 46:02Speaker 4: and mid air and crazy shit, and like you had
- 46:06Speaker 4: Rhino and Spick, Dudley and Leda was like the corner
- 46:10Speaker 4: people all having these crazy spots and it was just
- 46:13Speaker 4: mayhem generalation derby style match, you know, and these these
- 46:19Speaker 4: young teams obviously like had a lot of experience, but
- 46:23Speaker 4: like this would have assured like, you know, this would
- 46:27Speaker 4: make their names and it was it was crazy to see,
- 46:30Speaker 4: still crazy to see, but even back then, it was
- 46:33Speaker 4: like people weren't doing big matches like this on pay
- 46:38Speaker 4: per view television, especially not in the ww A. You know,
- 46:42Speaker 4: so awesome, awesome stuff.
- 46:46Speaker 2: Yeah no, and I know we're kind of like he
- 46:48Speaker 2: made that kind of like he has matches and I
- 46:49Speaker 2: just have like certain things. No, that is the match.
- 46:53Speaker 2: That is one of my favorite matches ever. And that
- 46:57Speaker 2: was the match And I was wh live in two
- 47:01Speaker 2: thousand and one where it was like the first time
- 47:04Speaker 2: I was like that I was never not probably a
- 47:06Speaker 2: wrestling fan. I was like, I'm so proud of me
- 47:08Speaker 2: a wrestling fan because like a bunch of dudes going
- 47:12Speaker 2: through fucking car crash stunts with each other. It just
- 47:14Speaker 2: was so cool. It was high action, high pace, just
- 47:19Speaker 2: like the like there's like you have three teams going
- 47:21Speaker 2: against each other, and there's a spot where like the
- 47:23Speaker 2: three quote unquote, like the third man of each group
- 47:25Speaker 2: comes out and just beats a shit ever each other.
- 47:27Speaker 2: For example, what was it, Leada absolutely obliterates I think
- 47:32Speaker 2: it was Spike Dougley with a chair shot like Concussion City,
- 47:36Speaker 2: and then for some reason just takes off her sh
- 47:38Speaker 2: people of two thousand and one easy, but like she
- 47:40Speaker 2: just rips off her shirt and chucks at him and
- 47:43Speaker 2: she's like talking shit and then she gets three D
- 47:45Speaker 2: for no fucking reason. It's just like, okay, of course
- 47:48Speaker 2: you have the Spear, which has shown like the like
- 47:51Speaker 2: the Slam and Andre every freaking week. You have the Swantons,
- 47:55Speaker 2: you have the ending with the double the quadruple tables
- 47:58Speaker 2: getting broken into and it was such and it was
- 48:01Speaker 2: such a I loved know one people don't talk about
- 48:02Speaker 2: this another how they won. It was such a car
- 48:04Speaker 2: crash and like literally like Rhino had to put one
- 48:07Speaker 2: of the guys on his shoulders and carry him up
- 48:09Speaker 2: the ladder, and I love like if you watch like Edge,
- 48:11Speaker 2: it was either Ed your Krish. I think it was
- 48:12Speaker 2: a Christian barely grab the tas like he couldn't do it.
- 48:15Speaker 2: He was just so dead and exhausted, and I just
- 48:17Speaker 2: love like how just chaotic it was, you know what
- 48:19Speaker 2: I mean? And again it was one of those wrestled
- 48:21Speaker 2: main And again the reason why people say seventeen a
- 48:23Speaker 2: great wrestlemanium, it's because every single match was like follow that,
- 48:28Speaker 2: and they did. That's the thing. Like, there was like
- 48:32Speaker 2: really no bad matches in the cart. They were like.
- 48:34Speaker 2: The worst match and it's not a knock on him
- 48:36Speaker 2: was the China Mally Holly match because it was a
- 48:38Speaker 2: squash match. It was five minutes, not even that. That's
- 48:40Speaker 2: all it was. But that's my number three, that's my
- 48:45Speaker 2: That for you, that's your four that he said that's
- 48:47Speaker 2: my number three.
- 48:48Speaker 4: I couldn't have planned that better myself.
- 48:51Speaker 2: You know, we even talk about it either, good for you,
- 48:52Speaker 2: you know we didn't.
- 48:53Speaker 4: We just did sync. I'm glad I switched my list around.
- 48:55Speaker 2: Sorry moms with each other at the same time, it's
- 48:58Speaker 2: just like what the fuck?
- 48:59Speaker 4: Yeah, weird? Okay, number three for me, I'm gonna put it,
- 49:05Speaker 4: uh is a tie kind of because you already we
- 49:10Speaker 4: already talked about Brockleaster versus Angle, We talked about we
- 49:15Speaker 4: referenced Angle versus Eddie, and I'm gonna throw in Eddie
- 49:19Speaker 4: versus Sean or I'm sorry, Sean versus Angle a versus
- 49:24Speaker 4: Sean from twenty one yep. So because like current Angle,
- 49:30Speaker 4: obviously one of the best to ever do it, legit
- 49:32Speaker 4: Olympic athlete, Olympic gold medalist, and again made a transition
- 49:37Speaker 4: into pro wrestling so smoothly. I think brock Listener is
- 49:39Speaker 4: another great example of like somebody with legit amateur experience
- 49:42Speaker 4: picking up the yeah, the picking up the uh, the
- 49:48Speaker 4: the taste for pro wrestling so easily. But obviously Eddie
- 49:54Speaker 4: versus Kurt goes down in history. You know, Eddie winning
- 49:59Speaker 4: the big one, but Sean versus Angle didn't really have
- 50:05Speaker 4: stakes of a title belt, anything like that. But you
- 50:10Speaker 4: talk about one of the best to ever do it,
- 50:12Speaker 4: and Kurt Sean legitimately one of the best to ever
- 50:15Speaker 4: do it, and you know, continues to They'll go down
- 50:20Speaker 4: in history as some of the best wrestlers ever. But
- 50:23Speaker 4: you put these two in the ring and you just
- 50:25Speaker 4: had magic. I mean, you show this match to anybody
- 50:29Speaker 4: and you'll make a fan out of them. And so
- 50:33Speaker 4: I think this match deserves a lot of the praise
- 50:36Speaker 4: that it doesn't necessarily get because you know, again, wasn't
- 50:40Speaker 4: the main event, didn't really have a title on the line,
- 50:42Speaker 4: but still legitimately fucking phenomenal match. And so I put
- 50:48Speaker 4: that alongside Eddie versus Kurt and Brock versus Kurt. I mean,
- 50:53Speaker 4: Kurt Angle, anybody he goes in the ring with, they're
- 50:57Speaker 4: gonna have a great match. Oh I forgot to mention
- 51:01Speaker 4: honorable dishonorable mentioned for the other list Kurt Angle versus Baron.
- 51:05Speaker 2: Corbin, And that came to mind from what Rustlemania I
- 51:11Speaker 2: don't even know, thirty five match.
- 51:13Speaker 4: Yeah right, yeah, Kurt's last match could have could have
- 51:18Speaker 4: been a lot better anyway, But yeah, good, good set
- 51:24Speaker 4: of the list. Number three Kurt Angle matches, go check
- 51:27Speaker 4: them out. Great great talent. Also honorable mention notre Man
- 51:34Speaker 4: versus Steamboat classic match. But you know, again, as time
- 51:39Speaker 4: goes on, you know, the talent got better and better.
- 51:43Speaker 4: So didn't make the top five, but still fucking phenomenal match,
- 51:48Speaker 4: you can tell. I wasn't prepared for this.
- 51:50Speaker 2: No, No, you're fine. No, that's a very good list.
- 51:53Speaker 2: No for me, and this is where I was going back,
- 51:55Speaker 2: like I knew my number one, I knew my number five,
- 51:59Speaker 2: I knew my A the worst ones I really hit
- 52:02Speaker 2: the bait with. But my number two for me, and
- 52:05Speaker 2: it is a match, but it is not a pristine
- 52:09Speaker 2: technical wrestler, you know, Matt Classic as we call or
- 52:15Speaker 2: as some would call it. It is not a five
- 52:17Speaker 2: stars actually on this list, it's or this that other list.
- 52:23Speaker 2: I think it's only three. For me, it's Rocken Hogan. Yeah,
- 52:29Speaker 2: that is the perfect like an honorable mention also too,
- 52:34Speaker 2: I mean I know we've done like is Taker Sean
- 52:36Speaker 2: that's another one where it kind of goes go involved
- 52:38Speaker 2: in that Matt class. But also that just wrestling nostalgia
- 52:41Speaker 2: from twenty five or was it our twenty Fan Anniversary
- 52:44Speaker 2: Wrestling twenty five silver Star. No, for me, it's Rock
- 52:47Speaker 2: again at eighteen. That is the perfect one. It's like, hey,
- 52:51Speaker 2: tell me what professional wrestling is. You show them that
- 52:55Speaker 2: it's literally a wrestler who was a bad guy who
- 52:58Speaker 2: used to be you know, it's actually, if anything, it's
- 53:01Speaker 2: literally John Cena Cody. It's literally you have the guy
- 53:04Speaker 2: that everyone loves and then you have the old grizzle
- 53:07Speaker 2: veteran who came back when he he at this point
- 53:10Speaker 2: he was well established to be a bad guy because
- 53:12Speaker 2: Hogan was in the nWo, but he had met with
- 53:15Speaker 2: a w in five six year actually almost like ten
- 53:18Speaker 2: years action almost like ten years almost like there's some
- 53:20Speaker 2: man he was at nine came back at eighteen. So yeah,
- 53:23Speaker 2: nine years. He's gone for nine years, almost a whole decade,
- 53:26Speaker 2: and he comes back and as the weeks go on,
- 53:29Speaker 2: he's getting booed, like there's that mix of bootes, that
- 53:32Speaker 2: mix of it's Hogan, it's nostalgia. And I was at
- 53:36Speaker 2: that first show that for thankfully I was at that
- 53:38Speaker 2: raw he came back for the first time in ten years,
- 53:41Speaker 2: and he did this promo saying, you know the intra
- 53:44Speaker 2: cop and the place is like and which which it's
- 53:46Speaker 2: funny we talk about Hogan considering now, of course, if
- 53:49Speaker 2: we would have known now what we know, then you
- 53:52Speaker 2: know what I mean. But like Chig was literally like
- 53:54Speaker 2: like kissing this guy's feet, kissing the yeah, kissing this
- 53:58Speaker 2: guy's spray paint feet or whatever. Those boots were or
- 54:00Speaker 2: airbrush spray, like he couldn't even talk for a minute
- 54:03Speaker 2: because he was so emotional.
- 54:04Speaker 4: Almost lost it.
- 54:06Speaker 2: Yeah, no, sorry, he was so emotional with like with
- 54:09Speaker 2: how we were like like acknowledged we were acknowledging him,
- 54:14Speaker 2: and then him and the Rock have his face off,
- 54:17Speaker 2: Rock bottoms him, and then Hogan proceeds to drive a
- 54:20Speaker 2: semi truck into an ambulance and they all say, there
- 54:22Speaker 2: in a parking lot. But then the match that wrestlming
- 54:28Speaker 2: in eighteen happens and from like sixty seventy thousand people,
- 54:32Speaker 2: and they had the plan. Rock goes in as a
- 54:33Speaker 2: bad guy, Holding goes in is a good guy. They're
- 54:35Speaker 2: gonna do the classic good guy bad guy match, and
- 54:38Speaker 2: they literally hit the switch on the fly because the
- 54:40Speaker 2: crowd literally said, fuck you, Dwayne, we want Hogan like
- 54:45Speaker 2: it's it's it's one of the greatest and it's and
- 54:48Speaker 2: it's how I say it. I call it the greatest
- 54:50Speaker 2: wrestling call ever that didn't resolve in the win. Other
- 54:55Speaker 2: than mankind you know, as my god, as my winns,
- 54:58Speaker 2: he's broken in half. Hogan does I think he gets
- 55:03Speaker 2: Rock Bottomer or people's levels, and he kicks out. He
- 55:05Speaker 2: kicks out, and he's hulking up and the place is
- 55:08Speaker 2: losing their ship. There's a classic. It's a classic. He's
- 55:11Speaker 2: hulking up. There's this guy in the front row and
- 55:13Speaker 2: a five times way too big white T shirt and
- 55:17Speaker 2: the guy's losing his shit behind him. I just remember that.
- 55:20Speaker 2: I don't why always bring it up. But Hogan does
- 55:22Speaker 2: the hulk up, does the kick, does the leg drop,
- 55:25Speaker 2: and j R. Literally goes he beat Andre the Giant
- 55:29Speaker 2: with that move, and it's one of the greatest calls.
- 55:33Speaker 2: But the Rock kicks out and then Rock wins, and
- 55:37Speaker 2: I find it really quick, very funny that in my
- 55:39Speaker 2: top five list, Hogan's in it twice, and yet my
- 55:44Speaker 2: all time favorite wrestler, Steve Austin is in three of
- 55:46Speaker 2: your worst. He'sn't actually one of my He's in one
- 55:50Speaker 2: of my worst too. Actually, don't take it back twice
- 55:53Speaker 2: because he was in that celebrity. Yeah, he's in our
- 55:55Speaker 2: worst less category because I also mentioned the heel turn.
- 55:59Speaker 4: It's funny. You should mention that. It's funny. You should
- 56:02Speaker 4: mention that because my number two I'm gonna double dip
- 56:06Speaker 4: a little bit.
- 56:07Speaker 2: Oh my god, I thought I think continue, Sorry think
- 56:09Speaker 2: he did number two?
- 56:10Speaker 4: Sorry? No, you you go first this time? So my
- 56:12Speaker 4: number two is up next. But no, So I'm gonna
- 56:14Speaker 4: double dip a little bit, only because they're back to back.
- 56:17Speaker 4: We got WrestleMania thirteen, Brett Hard versus Stone Cold in
- 56:21Speaker 4: a submission match with Kenri as a special guest. WrestleMania fourteen,
- 56:27Speaker 4: Stone Cold Steve Boston versus Shawn Michaels for the WWF
- 56:30Speaker 4: Championship with Mike Tyson. It's a special guest enforcer, right,
- 56:34Speaker 4: so this kind of depicts the rise of Stone colas
- 56:37Speaker 4: Steve Boston, right. Obviously, he came into w w F
- 56:41Speaker 4: as the ring master. That didn't last very long, thank you, thankfully.
- 56:45Speaker 4: Stone Seve Boston was kind of the heel going into this, right,
- 56:49Speaker 4: talking a lot of trash, running people down. But in
- 56:52Speaker 4: his match with Brett Hart, you had this infamous double
- 56:55Speaker 4: turn where Stone Cold gets hurt and the fans are
- 57:00Speaker 4: cheering for him, rooting him on. Brad Hart gets gets aggressive,
- 57:04Speaker 4: he's attacking him, doesn't like how Austin's been talking shit
- 57:07Speaker 4: about him, and then the match ends in this just
- 57:11Speaker 4: iconic way where stone Could's been busted open he's got
- 57:14Speaker 4: the red the Crimson mask as it's called. And but
- 57:17Speaker 4: he just won't tap out. He's in the sharpshooter. He
- 57:20Speaker 4: can't get out, he won't tap, he won't tap, and
- 57:23Speaker 4: he just passes out. He passes out from the pain,
- 57:28Speaker 4: and the match is called. That's the winner, and a
- 57:31Speaker 4: star is born. In defeat, a star is born. Exactly.
- 57:37Speaker 4: Flash forward to a year later, the meteoric rises has
- 57:41Speaker 4: been He's just incomparable. Yea, the face of pro wrestling,
- 57:48Speaker 4: one of the most popular, you know, pop icons that
- 57:54Speaker 4: you know, and one of those one of those figures
- 57:56Speaker 4: that transcended wrestling before that was really before it was
- 58:00Speaker 4: really popular as it is now you knows it as
- 58:03Speaker 4: it wasn't accepted, you know, still look down upon and stuff.
- 58:07Speaker 4: But again we talked about a lot of these celebrity guests.
- 58:10Speaker 4: Mike Tyson a fan and wanted to be part of it,
- 58:15Speaker 4: not stand out right. You had Sean Michaels as part
- 58:19Speaker 4: of d X, really popular group, obviously anti establishment guys,
- 58:25Speaker 4: but kind of running the show, you know what I mean. Yeah,
- 58:28Speaker 4: you had stone cold of Austin again fighting the power,
- 58:30Speaker 4: finding the powers that be what made him so popular
- 58:33Speaker 4: and then you have, you know, Mike Tyson apparently in
- 58:39Speaker 4: the corner of DX, so it looks like the odds
- 58:41Speaker 4: are stacked against still cold, but obviously Mike Tyson turns
- 58:48Speaker 4: the tables and uh comes in with a quick three
- 58:52Speaker 4: count you know what I mean, but still super entertaining.
- 58:55Speaker 4: Yeah and uh yeah, just one of the fucking fel
- 59:00Speaker 4: good moments, you know what I mean, crowning of this
- 59:02Speaker 4: Stone cald Is champion and obviously in there with Michaels
- 59:06Speaker 4: again obviously really great worker. But yeah, phenomenal match, phenomenal
- 59:12Speaker 4: moment and iconic crowning of you know, a new era,
- 59:18Speaker 4: our favorite wrestler of all time.
- 59:21Speaker 2: Really good, your.
- 59:23Speaker 4: Too, Stnow go Steve Austin. I'm gonna go with her.
- 59:29Speaker 2: I will drop you on your stack of dimes.
- 59:33Speaker 4: Hit you with a stunner one two three, A kickback
- 59:36Speaker 4: with a couple Steve Washers?
- 59:38Speaker 2: Hey what let me ask you something. How much you
- 59:41Speaker 2: get paid for that stupid aircut? If you paid four
- 59:44Speaker 2: ninety five, you paid fortninety too much?
- 59:50Speaker 1: What?
- 59:51Speaker 4: Shave your head off?
- 59:51Speaker 3: Shave your hair off?
- 59:52Speaker 4: Lock me? What? Kick back with a couple? Steve Washers?
- 59:56Speaker 1: What?
- 59:57Speaker 4: What?
- 59:58Speaker 2: What do you what?
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: Three, what four?
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: What I'm gonna need a uber home a drunk what? What?
- 1:00:12Speaker 4: Oh?
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: Ship fires?
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: What a plastered with that? As I said earlier, my
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: number one is wrestle By twenty two. Obviously it's selfish reasons.
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: I was able. I was fortunate to go to WrestleMania.
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: It was a good WrestleMania, despite what it was supposed
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: to be. You had the crazy hardcore match of the
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: Edge mcfully going through a flaming table. Yes, the tight
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: table is really on fire. Yes I was in the balcony,
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: and yes I can still feel the heat. Obviously. You
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: had Shawn Michaels and mis Man being the absolute piss
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: out of each other in a street fight. You had
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: seen Triple H. Well it doesn't get this great praise.
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: It was actually a good match, but also like the
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: entrances were just fucking sant. Triple H comes out as
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: fucking Cone of the Barbarian, and skin it comes out
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: as al Capone. And a little guy named Sam punk
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: happened to be in the in the entrance way, dress
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: up as a gainster. Didn't do anything, but he was
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: there and then and then that s right with my dog. Yeah,
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: there was just an over card, and it was the
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: last arena WrestleMania probably ever, probably ever. That's my number
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: one I will say, though I know I put in
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: two matches. I put in the TLC and the Rock
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: and Hogan. I know. Another quick little honorable mention. I
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: know you mentioned twenty one of the Michaels and Sean.
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: To me, I think that's like I mean, I personally
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: no offense taker Sean. I think that's the better match.
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: That's just my nicest opinion. But for me, honorable mention,
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: it was Steve Austin at thirty eight when he came
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: back and fought Kevin Owens. Like is a kid you
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: know what I mean? Austin was always the one guy
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: that would never come out of retirement, and he had
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: been offered and he never did it. And then after
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: that ten years and I came back in Dallas, Texas
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: to finish my story. What and yeah, to me that
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: I was just like I remember there were little people
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: I work with and stuff like that, like they didn't
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: give a shit about wrestling, and they're like, yeah, Saturday night,
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: I'm on the couch. I gotta watch Austin drink some
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: beers and beat the shit out of people, which is
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: exactly what did. And then the dude, being an animally
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: is a guy was like in his mid fifties at
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: the time that he's I think he literally just turned
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: sixty this year, sixty last year. Dude took a bump
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: of concrete, like what the fuck? So all, okay, but
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: what is your un We'll get out of here. That
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: did this? What is your.
- 1:02:34Speaker 4: Well, it's funny you mentioned take your versus Sean, and
- 1:02:37Speaker 4: I'm gonna again fudge the numbers a little bit because
- 1:02:40Speaker 4: they're back to back and they're really kind of connected.
- 1:02:43Speaker 4: You've got WrestleMania twenty five Sean Michaels versus Undertaker, WrestleMania
- 1:02:49Speaker 4: twenty six Sean Michelos risus Undertaker, streak versus career. He's
- 1:02:53Speaker 4: got WrestleMania twenty seven Triple H versus Undertaking and No
- 1:02:57Speaker 4: Holds Bard match, and then WrestleMania twenty eight Triple H
- 1:03:01Speaker 4: versus Undertaker and hell Helen a Cell match with Michaels
- 1:03:05Speaker 4: as a special guest referee. I'm again, obviously four matches,
- 1:03:12Speaker 4: but I think it's one of the best examples probably
- 1:03:16Speaker 4: ever of say it with me long term booking you know,
- 1:03:23Speaker 4: obviously Taker versus Michael's the first time around, Michaels just
- 1:03:27Speaker 4: wanted to try and take the streak. I think there
- 1:03:29Speaker 4: was maybe something to do with the ring rob maybe
- 1:03:31Speaker 4: that was after this. That was the second That was
- 1:03:33Speaker 4: the second one, the second one. Right then Michaels becomes
- 1:03:36Speaker 4: obsessed with taking the streak and puts his career on
- 1:03:40Speaker 4: the line and loses again Undertaker, probably one of the
- 1:03:44Speaker 4: best to ever do it. It's anonymous with WrestleMania, but
- 1:03:48Speaker 4: it trying to avenge his falling out y, his fallen friend,
- 1:03:51Speaker 4: Triple H tries to go after the Taker and this
- 1:03:55Speaker 4: no holds barred match and still can't do it. And
- 1:03:58Speaker 4: so to finally culminate this story, Hell in the Cell,
- 1:04:02Speaker 4: probably one of the best Hell in the Cell matches ever,
- 1:04:07Speaker 4: we got the Three Men. It's anonymous with the Attitude era,
- 1:04:13Speaker 4: and they call this match kind of the end of
- 1:04:14Speaker 4: the Era or the Last Outlaws or whatever you want
- 1:04:17Speaker 4: to call it. And again Taker hits the Tombstone and
- 1:04:24Speaker 4: Michaels has to mercifully, if not remorsefully and regretfully count
- 1:04:29Speaker 4: the three for his friend to just put an end
- 1:04:32Speaker 4: to it. And that match is really sorry.
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: That match probably the best kickout ever where Michael's kicked
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: take her in the face and then you watch to
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: the pedigree and take her kicked out literally at two
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: point seconds.
- 1:04:47Speaker 4: It's yeah, crazy crazy matches again, like matches you could
- 1:04:53Speaker 4: show anybody and we'll make a fan out of them.
- 1:04:55Speaker 4: But I think the story throughout these four matches again,
- 1:04:57Speaker 4: these matches are like a year were apart each, you know,
- 1:05:02Speaker 4: to know that, like the build still was there, you know,
- 1:05:05Speaker 4: and people were like clamoring to see what happened next.
- 1:05:09Speaker 4: You don't have to overdo it, you don't have to
- 1:05:12Speaker 4: really shove it down people's throats. People want to see
- 1:05:14Speaker 4: it and like knowing that, like the long term storytelling
- 1:05:17Speaker 4: was there. Again, these all these guys had crossed paths
- 1:05:21Speaker 4: in one way, shape or form like a decade previously
- 1:05:26Speaker 4: to this. But you know, these guys are some of
- 1:05:31Speaker 4: the greatest ever do it. And you know again like
- 1:05:36Speaker 4: some scary spots with the Taker versus Michael's. You know,
- 1:05:39Speaker 4: some close calls again like hell in the cell. Anything
- 1:05:42Speaker 4: can happen, you know, but some of the best guys
- 1:05:48Speaker 4: ever strap up boots and like this the last match
- 1:05:51Speaker 4: there was when Taker went twenty you know, and to
- 1:05:56Speaker 4: think twenty years of his career and to know that
- 1:06:02Speaker 4: he was still able to do it to that level
- 1:06:06Speaker 4: any of them really, but yeah, really great milestone moments
- 1:06:12Speaker 4: in WrestleMania history, but also just some of some of
- 1:06:18Speaker 4: the best wrestling you'll ever see. And yeah, this tops
- 1:06:22Speaker 4: my list. I know Stone Cold should be up there,
- 1:06:24Speaker 4: and like he again, my top five was really like
- 1:06:26Speaker 4: a top ten smashed together. But as Yeah, I think
- 1:06:32Speaker 4: if we're talking about WrestleMania, I think Undertaker makes and
- 1:06:37Speaker 4: breaks the list, you know what I mean.
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: Like you can't you can't talk about the super Bowl,
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: that's talk about Tom Brady. You can't talk about wrestling
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: about Shawm, Michaels An Artaker. You just can't.
- 1:06:47Speaker 4: One's mister WrestleMania. One's infamous for the streak, the undefeated
- 1:06:50Speaker 4: streak at WrestleMania. So and I think Triple H being
- 1:06:53Speaker 4: in the mix is obviously like well warranted, you know,
- 1:06:58Speaker 4: his career has been and those, but but yeah, this
- 1:07:02Speaker 4: this is some of his best work. And again some
- 1:07:06Speaker 4: of like the final matches of these guys careers more
- 1:07:09Speaker 4: or less if you don't count Saudi Arabia. Yeah, man, Yeah,
- 1:07:16Speaker 4: that's my that's my number one.
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: That's a good dig.
- 1:07:20Speaker 2: And on that note, it was a great list. I
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: want to thank you. I do know what it's like
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: for you, say, you being up late for this for.
- 1:07:26Speaker 4: Sure, you got going on.
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: No that we're not even being paid for this, unfortunately,
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: they're promote It's just I always enjoy wrestling every year.
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: I don't feel that watch it only they only watch
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: wrestling and wrestling every year. It is their super Bowl.
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: It is the showcase to the immortals. Dude, It's always
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: a good time. It's always a good show. My wife
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: and I watch every year now together. Actually, yeah, we
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: didn't watch know, we watched it. We watched it that
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: one year that I was a tunery, except we were
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: we were there at a different house one night. But anyway,
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: I don't know what I'm going on that road. What
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: the fun I'm talking about? Too tired? Uh? Yeah, No.
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: I want to thank you all for joining us for
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: these last couple episodes. I appreciate your patience with this.
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: Weird delays and different times and stuff like that, and
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: like part ones and two's and all that stuff.
- 1:08:11Speaker 4: This part two might just be another two parter.
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: Well, I mean, I mean, it doesn't matter. There's probably
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: still people who are just turning this podcast because they've
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: been watching Chairs the last four weeks. At any rate,
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: that's a call back. Ladies and gentlemen. You can find us.

- 1:08:32Speaker 2: Obviously this is very wrestled Inania, so out the last
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: couple weeks here kind of oriented other than chairs a
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: couple of weeks ago, although there were some there were
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: some chairs in this episode we had. We had tables
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: and chairs with a with a hardcore match with another
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: chair in there which got through it. We always have chairs,
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: there's always a chair involved. These next episodes we'll see
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: what happens when it's only probably mostly Star Wars Eccentric
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: with uh Indor coming out, and also Star Wars Celebration,
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: which we'll see what happens once I come back from
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: Germany on that one. I'm not gonna be at the celebration,
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: but when I come back, it should be wrapping up,
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: coming up really quick. As I said, chuckscantenagmail dot com.

- 1:09:09Speaker 2: I do apologize I will be a little bit delayed

- 1:09:14Speaker 2: recommend to go watch that show if you haven't already.
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: As always, uh, that is og Patron. Thank you again
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: for all the love and support on his side. Tell

- 1:09:32Speaker 2: just you know, stay nice to one another. Make sure
- 1:09:34Speaker 2: you know, just hold the dove in for someone don't
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: know what can do for them. In terms of our mindset,
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: if you had any drinks to it, like we did,
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: not have be saved. Called a ride share, call at uber,
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: a lyft, a taxi, whatever you want to call. Hey,
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: call Arthur Morgan, get a horseback ride home. I don't care.
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: Just be smart, just to get home safe at any rate.

- 1:10:03Speaker 4: the fun you're doing on the mic, but my gosh,
- 1:10:07Speaker 4: I'm not doing that.
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: I just got a hair ball.
- 1:10:10Speaker 4: Anything, dude, what's going on? Listen to that back was
- 1:10:18Speaker 4: something happened there
