- 0:00Speaker 1: Tampa Bay's Best Music is nine.
- 0:04Speaker 2: We welcome to another episode of Scotti and Abby Unfiltered.
- 0:08Speaker 2: I'm very excited to be able to go through some
- 0:09Speaker 2: of these reviews because I was cracking up. I feel
- 0:11Speaker 2: like you were stressing out, Abby as I was reading them.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Well, it's not that I stressed out about it.
- 0:15Speaker 3: It's just that I think sometimes comments are left with
- 0:19Speaker 3: good intentions, but they don't translate.
- 0:24Speaker 2: I would say the one that I want to read,
- 0:26Speaker 2: it translates like it's pretty good.
- 0:28Speaker 1: I don't know you're hesitating, but whatever, I.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Don't think you'll take it in the wrong way. But
- 0:32Speaker 2: we'll get to that in just a second. Because we
- 0:34Speaker 2: were talking beforehand, and I'm starting to panic a little
- 0:36Speaker 2: bit because over the past couple of podcasts, what I've
- 0:39Speaker 2: decided a lot of it is because of the show
- 0:41Speaker 2: off campus. Big inspiration is I wanted to grow out
- 0:45Speaker 2: my hair, and that was like the big move right
- 0:47Speaker 2: now over the past couple months is for years I've
- 0:50Speaker 2: done like the little fade on the sides and I've
- 0:52Speaker 2: had a little bit on top that have spiked up,
- 0:54Speaker 2: and that was like my style. Yeah, and it looked
- 0:56Speaker 2: pretty darn good. But over the past five months, I've
- 1:01Speaker 2: decided to grow it a little longer and I started
- 1:04Speaker 2: to grow a little facial hair, and it's much better now.
- 1:07Speaker 2: I look at pictures of when, like my birthday happened
- 1:09Speaker 2: last year, and I was like, oh my god. I
- 1:11Speaker 2: was joking this weekend, but I was like, I look
- 1:13Speaker 2: like a thumb like this, Like it's just compared to.
- 1:16Speaker 1: It's so glad you said it before I could.
- 1:20Speaker 2: But now I'm in that awkward period of time.
- 1:23Speaker 1: No, you're not. You keep saying that.
- 1:25Speaker 3: Scott's like, I want to grow up my hair to
- 1:26Speaker 3: have the hockey hair like off campus, but I'm gonna
- 1:30Speaker 3: go through an awkward phase. I'm like, you're literally not
- 1:32Speaker 3: in an awkward phase. Your hair just looks a little
- 1:34Speaker 3: bit longer.
- 1:35Speaker 2: It looks so bushy on this it literally doesn't okay.
- 1:38Speaker 2: So I have a wedding that I'm supposed to go
- 1:40Speaker 2: to in a week and a half, and this is
- 1:42Speaker 2: where I started to stress this morning because I'm looking
- 1:44Speaker 2: at myself in the mirror and I'm like, i don't
- 1:46Speaker 2: know how I'm gonna make this look stylish, of how
- 1:48Speaker 2: I'm gonna make this look good, or if I'm putting
- 1:50Speaker 2: too much pressure on it because whenever you're going to
- 1:52Speaker 2: a wedding, I mean, you get the whole do up.
- 1:54Speaker 2: I mean it's you get your hair cut, you look good. Luckily,
- 1:57Speaker 2: the friends that I'm gonna go see very chill. It's
- 2:00Speaker 2: not pretentious at all. But that's why I was telling Abby.
- 2:03Speaker 2: I was like, your hair girl has not gotten back
- 2:06Speaker 2: to me yet.
- 2:07Speaker 3: Okay, so I need to know what you DMed her
- 2:09Speaker 3: because if you're a if you're going to be a
- 2:11Speaker 3: class A weirdo to my hair girl, I don't know
- 2:14Speaker 3: that I necessarily want to vouch for you.
- 2:15Speaker 2: You literally have to vouch for me because you literally
- 2:18Speaker 2: work with me. We do a show together.
- 2:20Speaker 3: So now everything else, nothing except for the hours between
- 2:23Speaker 3: six and ten thirty am.
- 2:25Speaker 2: I was not a weirdo. When I messaged your hair girl,
- 2:29Speaker 2: I simply wrote, up, let me go ahead and pull
- 2:31Speaker 2: it up. Because I sent this, it has now been
- 2:33Speaker 2: a full week no reply, and I said, Hi, I
- 2:38Speaker 2: have a friend who said you were the best. I'm
- 2:40Speaker 2: looking for a stylist as I'm growing my hair out
- 2:43Speaker 2: to give it more flow. Do you styles? Do you
- 2:46Speaker 2: style men's hair as well, or do you know someone
- 2:50Speaker 2: that you'd recommend space face face to face. Thank you.
- 2:53Speaker 2: That's all I said.
- 2:54Speaker 1: What's that.
- 2:55Speaker 3: I don't know that I would have I think I
- 2:57Speaker 3: maybe would have come in with a different approach.
- 2:59Speaker 2: I wanted to be a little bit more like it's
- 3:01Speaker 2: so interesting because in my head, I I want to
- 3:03Speaker 2: be a casual, kind of cool but also kind of
- 3:06Speaker 2: funny but complimentary. That's why I said, like I heard
- 3:08Speaker 2: you were the best legit yeld say, that's why you
- 3:10Speaker 2: go to her? And I just needed to know if
- 3:13Speaker 2: you can do men's hair and give it some flow.
- 3:15Speaker 3: I think when it comes to men in your DMS,
- 3:17Speaker 3: sometimes we never really know what we're getting into. Like
- 3:20Speaker 3: something that may seem completely innocuous may turn into something else.
- 3:24Speaker 3: So maybe she's just a little bit on the defense.
- 3:27Speaker 3: Maybe it'll take me sliding in being like, hey, do
- 3:30Speaker 3: you do men's cuts?
- 3:31Speaker 1: Or maybe we could just go to their freaking website
- 3:33Speaker 1: and see if they do.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Men's cuts, because okay, if you go to the men's
- 3:36Speaker 2: site and they say men's cuts, usually what that leads
- 3:38Speaker 2: to is, yeah, we do a little shave up on
- 3:40Speaker 2: the sides, we'll do the clippers. I don't want clippers anymore.
- 3:43Speaker 2: I want you to give me the scissor treatment.
- 3:46Speaker 1: You've got to stop saying that.
- 3:48Speaker 2: I want to say it though.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Not just scissor treatment.
- 3:51Speaker 2: So I want you. Do you have her number?
- 3:54Speaker 1: I don't.
- 3:54Speaker 3: I think I might have her number. Let me pull
- 3:57Speaker 3: up the freaking website though, because they just slide up.
- 4:00Speaker 2: And this is where you have to vouch me because
- 4:01Speaker 2: I need to do something before I go to this wedding.
- 4:03Speaker 2: I need to have a little clean up, at least
- 4:05Speaker 2: on my neck, the back of my head, something over
- 4:09Speaker 2: my ears. Give me something here, Okay, book.
- 4:11Speaker 3: Now, book an appointment. You can book a group appointment.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Okay, we should go together.
- 4:16Speaker 1: New no, new guest services, okay, new guests, long thick
- 4:25Speaker 1: I want long thick hair, new guests, new guest I'm
- 4:28Speaker 1: trying to see if there's one that specifically says men's
- 4:31Speaker 1: because on our Instagram.
- 4:32Speaker 2: And I bring this up because I was telling Abby
- 4:34Speaker 2: I was looking through and every one of her pictures
- 4:36Speaker 2: is just all women and they have great layers and
- 4:38Speaker 2: new colors, and that's awesome, yes.
- 4:41Speaker 3: Because most men, I feel like are just going to
- 4:42Speaker 3: supercuts or sports cuts.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Well, yeah, and I'm trying to get out of that.
- 4:45Speaker 2: I don't need the fade anymore. Trying to get hockey here,
- 4:48Speaker 2: and I don't know where these guys go to get
- 4:49Speaker 2: hockey here.
- 4:51Speaker 1: I don't know where that I've been. I would love
- 4:53Speaker 1: to go to the place where the men are getting
- 4:54Speaker 1: hockey hair.
- 4:55Speaker 3: I will post up with a sign that says for sale.
- 5:00Speaker 3: I'm like, I have a dowry of three chickens and
- 5:03Speaker 3: two cats.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Okay, so new guest services. I don't see anything specifically
- 5:09Speaker 1: that says dudes, but let me see current guests.
- 5:14Speaker 2: It's not promising.
- 5:15Speaker 1: I feel like maybe it's not.
- 5:16Speaker 2: It's really not. I could find you somebody, though, Well,
- 5:19Speaker 2: we're running out of time, though we got like a
- 5:21Speaker 2: week current guests.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Complimentary current guest space framing blonde.
- 5:25Speaker 2: Because I don't want to look like Bozo the clown.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Where my head on the side is getting bushy, it's
- 5:29Speaker 2: coming over my ears, the back of my neck looks
- 5:31Speaker 2: were reduculess. It's insane. So I just need somebody to
- 5:35Speaker 2: at least start shaping it up.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:37Speaker 3: I don't see anything that specifically says men's cut, which
- 5:39Speaker 3: is not promising, So maybe that's why she didn't respond.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Well, at least see the message and tell me that.
- 5:44Speaker 2: That's why I said, do you have anybody who would recommend?
- 5:46Speaker 2: But here's the other awkward part about this. My old
- 5:48Speaker 2: haircut place, um hum, that right down the street where
- 5:51Speaker 2: I was going, and she did a great job, but
- 5:53Speaker 2: I canceled my last appointment to grow it out a
- 5:55Speaker 2: little longer. Well, I still want to go over there
- 5:57Speaker 2: and buy the product that I was getting for my hair.
- 6:00Speaker 1: You can get it on Amazon.
- 6:01Speaker 2: I don't know, because it's a very specific like brand.
- 6:03Speaker 2: It's like their brand is a Vita. Okay, you can
- 6:06Speaker 2: get you can get a Vita online. Yeah, it's probably
- 6:08Speaker 2: way cheaper too, a Veda. What is it at a
- 6:11Speaker 2: hair paste or paste something like that?
- 6:14Speaker 1: Yeah, found it?
- 6:15Speaker 3: Oh okay, Well then you can get it at Walmart
- 6:17Speaker 3: for twenty four to fifty.
- 6:18Speaker 2: That's probably what it is at the place. But I
- 6:19Speaker 2: could also just walk in there and get it. Is
- 6:22Speaker 2: the whole It's like going to your ex's house. You
- 6:25Speaker 2: can't then go That's what I was worried about. I
- 6:28Speaker 2: was going to go in and I was gonna buy it,
- 6:30Speaker 2: and then I had the whole thing in my head
- 6:32Speaker 2: that was like what happens if you see her and
- 6:33Speaker 2: she's like, oh my god, hey, yeah, why didn't you
- 6:37Speaker 2: book your appointment? They're gonna probably say at the front,
- 6:39Speaker 2: this is what happens. You go in there like, oh
- 6:41Speaker 2: my god, you're not on the booking yet. Let's get
- 6:43Speaker 2: you signed up, and then myself like, as I'm not
- 6:46Speaker 2: so much of a people pleaser anymore, trying to get
- 6:48Speaker 2: out of that. But in that moment, I'd probably be like, yes,
- 6:50Speaker 2: let me get on the schedule.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Actually sit down right now. Actually take all my money.
- 6:53Speaker 2: I'll just shave my head. Actually, I don't want to
- 6:55Speaker 2: grow it out anymore.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Okay.
- 6:56Speaker 3: I just googled men's cuts, Saint Pete. There's also another
- 7:01Speaker 3: very popular typically women salon that I was gonna go to.
- 7:05Speaker 1: This is the one that my sister in law goes to.
- 7:07Speaker 2: I'm down the street, the one that.
- 7:08Speaker 3: I didn't want to go to because the parking stressed
- 7:09Speaker 3: me out.
- 7:10Speaker 2: Yeah, now that's close to my house. I could probably
- 7:13Speaker 2: just like take a bus there.
- 7:15Speaker 1: You probably could take a bus there. Ah, Okay, book
- 7:17Speaker 1: an appointment. You have to send them a text. I
- 7:19Speaker 1: don't want to do that.
- 7:20Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. I just want to go where
- 7:22Speaker 2: and sit.
- 7:23Speaker 1: So this photo of them is terrifying. Is this not
- 7:26Speaker 1: every girl that ever was meaning to you in high school?
- 7:28Speaker 2: God? Dang, yeah, that's very intimidating. I can't go into
- 7:31Speaker 2: I was where was I? I was emcing an event
- 7:34Speaker 2: recently and I walked in and everybody looked like that, huh.
- 7:36Speaker 2: And at first I was very intimidated because it reminded
- 7:39Speaker 2: me of high school. Everyone was just literally perfect where
- 7:42Speaker 2: you're like, your skin is flawless, your hair is flawless,
- 7:45Speaker 2: you're in shape. Everyone's dressed perfectly like men and women.
- 7:48Speaker 2: And I walked in, I was like, I'm not in
- 7:49Speaker 2: the right place. I didn't know how to talk to
- 7:51Speaker 2: people because it reminded me of high school. Uh, where
- 7:54Speaker 2: I'm like, oh god, I.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Feel like at any moment, they're gonna their eyes are
- 7:57Speaker 1: gonna blare red, and they're all gonna go join us.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Do you get your hair cut?
- 8:02Speaker 1: Hockey flu, hockey flow?
- 8:05Speaker 2: I just want somebody to give me flow. And I
- 8:07Speaker 2: don't know where to go from here, and I'm looking
- 8:09Speaker 2: for answers.
- 8:10Speaker 3: Let me see if there's if it says anything else,
- 8:12Speaker 3: otherwise we could text them. But this is a very
- 8:14Speaker 3: popular salon in Saint Pete I think I think you would.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Uh, well, then I'm gonna sex. I don't care. I'm
- 8:20Speaker 2: gonna text them now and get that's done with.
- 8:22Speaker 1: Okay, do you want me to give you the number?
- 8:24Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, were we doing it literally on the
- 8:26Speaker 2: podcast Texting Tutor. Okay, this is what we had to
- 8:29Speaker 2: do last time to get me out of situation. So
- 8:31Speaker 2: let me go ahead. Okay, so they just have a
- 8:37Speaker 2: text number. Yeah?
- 8:38Speaker 3: Do you just say you just send them a text
- 8:40Speaker 3: and say, hey, hey, I'm a guide. I wonder if
- 8:44Speaker 3: you could send a photo be like, I'm trying to
- 8:45Speaker 3: get my hair to look like this. I'm I'm do
- 8:48Speaker 3: you guys do men's cuts?
- 8:50Speaker 2: Do you guys? Because they're gonna say yes, and I
- 8:53Speaker 2: don't think they're going to understand what I'm going for.
- 8:55Speaker 1: I have longer I have I have longer hair.
- 9:01Speaker 2: Cut men's hair.
- 9:04Speaker 1: I have longer hair. Yeah, I'm trying to grow it out.
- 9:11Speaker 2: I should give him my.
- 9:14Speaker 1: When I was eighteen and I got my first baid.
- 9:17Speaker 2: I'm trying to grow it out with style. I'm gonna say,
- 9:20Speaker 2: with style, no, no.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Don't know what. I'm trying to grow it out. And
- 9:26Speaker 1: my barber.
- 9:27Speaker 2: Okay, so I have longer hair and I'm trying to
- 9:29Speaker 2: grow it out period.
- 9:32Speaker 1: And my barber doesn't really know how to get the
- 9:34Speaker 1: look that I'm going for.
- 9:35Speaker 2: My barber doesn't know anything.
- 9:38Speaker 1: My barber is an idiot. My barber is my o G.
- 9:42Speaker 2: Barber is awesome. I don't know if he's listening to this,
- 9:43Speaker 2: but he is awesome. And I felt bad when I
- 9:45Speaker 2: had to break up with him because I kind of
- 9:47Speaker 2: just ghosted and it's never came back. But he knows
- 9:50Speaker 2: because of friends that I'm growing out my hair yea,
- 9:52Speaker 2: So I hope he's not offended. But my barber doesn't
- 9:54Speaker 2: know how to give me the hockey hair look.
- 10:00Speaker 3: I put it in quotations though, the quote unquote hockey
- 10:02Speaker 3: hair look. They're gonna be like what they're gonna know,
- 10:05Speaker 3: They're gonna eat that up, you think so. Yeah, because
- 10:07Speaker 3: all of us are watching off campus right now, they're
- 10:11Speaker 3: gonna be my name.
- 10:12Speaker 1: I think that's really wholes Yes, say it's Scott Tablin.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Scott Tablin, there you go.
- 10:17Speaker 1: What's your name is? Scott Jay Tablin?
- 10:19Speaker 2: No, Andrew Ay Tablin sent done. Hopefully you get a
- 10:23Speaker 2: text back By the end of this podcast. I can
- 10:24Speaker 2: get in today, get a cut and look good for
- 10:26Speaker 2: this dang wedding.
- 10:27Speaker 3: But if you don't, you could always self medicate with
- 10:30Speaker 3: beat bocks.
- 10:32Speaker 2: What a great time to mention that we still are
- 10:34Speaker 2: giving you a trip to Bonnaroo thanks to Beatbox.
- 10:37Speaker 1: Also side note, take a look at our new graphics.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Oh yes, that's actually where we get to this review
- 10:43Speaker 2: on Okay, two tangents. So first, Beatbox they got one
- 10:46Speaker 2: thousand dollars ready for you and a five hundred dollars
- 10:48Speaker 2: gas gift card to get you to Bonnaroo. Yeah, they're
- 10:50Speaker 2: gonna send you and three friends. You're all going to
- 10:52Speaker 2: get into the Bonnaroo festival. They got Teddy Swims, Kasha.
- 10:56Speaker 2: Who's the other one? No, Noah Khan.
- 10:58Speaker 1: We just keep repeating the same thing artists that we like.
- 11:01Speaker 2: I mean, I'm sure if you go to the website
- 11:02Speaker 2: for boner you'll see like thirty other artists names.
- 11:04Speaker 1: This is the three that we would be excited to see.
- 11:06Speaker 2: Yeah, and you got to be like ready to festival
- 11:08Speaker 2: it up because this is one of the biggest festivals.
- 11:09Speaker 2: I'd say get your drugs. Oh, advil, yes, lots of advil.
- 11:14Speaker 3: Yeah, because most of our listeners are over thirty, gets
- 11:15Speaker 3: your advil, you're til and all.
- 11:17Speaker 2: I will say I went out when I was on.
- 11:20Speaker 2: I think we just had a night in. We're just
- 11:22Speaker 2: doing a little wine tasting, wine and food at the house,
- 11:25Speaker 2: and it's just so stupid. As you get older, of
- 11:28Speaker 2: how quick it just you feel like in the wrong
- 11:33Speaker 2: wine then okay.
- 11:35Speaker 3: Also you can get one of those those mixers that
- 11:37Speaker 3: gets rid of the tannins or whatever gets or the
- 11:40Speaker 3: soul fights.
- 11:41Speaker 1: Those are the things that give you the hangover.
- 11:43Speaker 2: I think I'm allergic to wine though. I think that's
- 11:45Speaker 2: the problem.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Why are you drinking it? Then?
- 11:47Speaker 2: Because it's amazing you drink a lot of wine.
- 11:49Speaker 3: I actually don't think I've seen you drink anything except
- 11:52Speaker 3: for wine and then maybe a beer at the Corona spot.
- 11:56Speaker 2: Every now and then. I like a good drink. So
- 11:58Speaker 2: it's I'm not going to go out and just take
- 12:00Speaker 2: shots of nothing. No, I'm going to go out, like
- 12:02Speaker 2: we said on yesterday's podcast, like we went to the Sapphire.
- 12:05Speaker 2: I got a nice espresso martini.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Oh, Tampa does a good espresso martini. We are pretty
- 12:11Speaker 1: good for it. Where's your favorite espresso martini?
- 12:13Speaker 2: I mean, so far it was at Mandarin Hide in
- 12:16Speaker 2: Saint Pete. That one's good, but I would say the
- 12:19Speaker 2: one at the Sapphire was dope because it's also the glass.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Like the glass was this thin wine glass, but it
- 12:25Speaker 2: wasn't like as wide as a wine glass. It had
- 12:28Speaker 2: this like, I don't know, it looked like a shell
- 12:30Speaker 2: kind of deal.
- 12:31Speaker 1: Oh was it a Nicck and Nora glass?
- 12:33Speaker 2: You're asking questions. I don't know the answer. I don't
- 12:34Speaker 2: know what that is.
- 12:36Speaker 3: So the Nick and Nora glass is like the tiny
- 12:37Speaker 3: gimlet glass, you know, like the little eggs looking thing
- 12:40Speaker 3: kind of it looks like a could hold like a
- 12:42Speaker 3: really big egg.
- 12:43Speaker 2: It looks Yes, it looked like something from like the
- 12:45Speaker 2: sixteen hundreds. It was very thin and it having a goblet. Yes,
- 12:50Speaker 2: it was amazing. I would say that now is the
- 12:52Speaker 2: top contender. But I say that because I think everything
- 12:54Speaker 2: should be accounted for. I'm not just going for taste. Yeah,
- 12:56Speaker 2: I'm going for taste, but also appearance.
- 13:00Speaker 1: Vibes.
- 13:00Speaker 2: Vibes are huge the environment that I'm in, I agree,
- 13:04Speaker 2: and I actually want to even a little. I went
- 13:06Speaker 2: a little frothy. I want a little creamy on this one,
- 13:08Speaker 2: which usually I like just the straight espresso.
- 13:09Speaker 3: Oh you got the full fat one. I got the
- 13:11Speaker 3: full fat, got the full fat teeny Oh it was
- 13:13Speaker 3: fantastic too, Like that one was that nailed it. And
- 13:17Speaker 3: I will say, like back when I would go to
- 13:19Speaker 3: Mandarin Hyde, they.
- 13:20Speaker 2: Would put it in a nice glass. Again, the glass
- 13:22Speaker 2: is big for me.
- 13:23Speaker 1: I don't know why, but I.
- 13:24Speaker 3: Completely agree because if you give me wine and a
- 13:27Speaker 3: pub glass, I'm chucking it against the wall.
- 13:29Speaker 1: That's now a weapon.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Well, it didn't make me think like I'm getting to that,
- 13:34Speaker 2: Like this is so funny getting older. There are things
- 13:36Speaker 2: I care about now that I never thought I would
- 13:38Speaker 2: care about, And especially as I've moved into this new house,
- 13:40Speaker 2: one of the things that I want is like just
- 13:43Speaker 2: two really nice wine glasses. I don't need a bunch.
- 13:45Speaker 2: I got a couple stemless ones that you could do
- 13:47Speaker 2: wine or water whatever, but I want just two really
- 13:50Speaker 2: good ones for when we have just a nice wine
- 13:52Speaker 2: night in Like I'm talking like Crystal the thin, big
- 13:56Speaker 2: old cup but has the tiny little stem. That is
- 13:59Speaker 2: the wine glass that I'm looking for. But I never
- 14:01Speaker 2: thought I would care. Now I'm like two of those
- 14:03Speaker 2: would be very nice. Yeah, to sit there and sip.
- 14:07Speaker 2: But all of that to say back to why I'm
- 14:09Speaker 2: getting my haircut. Back to the new cover for the
- 14:11Speaker 2: Unfiltered podcast, and that's where I saw the reviews. So
- 14:14Speaker 2: if you are on Spotify or Apple Music, love the
- 14:17Speaker 2: new cover art and I love that people are making comments.
- 14:20Speaker 2: So that was the first comment that I saw.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Oh yeah, let's get back to the original point.
- 14:23Speaker 2: Yeah, well, people are raving about.
- 14:24Speaker 3: They're commenting on our new graphics sponsored by Beatbox.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Yeah, shout out to Beatboxing. Shout out a Beatbox for
- 14:29Speaker 1: the best summer ever.
- 14:32Speaker 2: Also, Ivy completely made that slogan up, which I'm completely
- 14:35Speaker 2: down for now.
- 14:36Speaker 3: It's my new vocal stem. I just every time I
- 14:38Speaker 3: say something, I just go for the best summer ever.
- 14:40Speaker 2: It's the best summer ever.
- 14:42Speaker 1: Scott and I were.
- 14:42Speaker 3: Bothinking about getting Fresh Kitchen yesterday. I couldn't get Fresh
- 14:46Speaker 3: Kitchen because my credit card wasn't working for some reason.
- 14:48Speaker 3: I don't know why it's not working on the Fresh
- 14:49Speaker 3: Kitchen website anymore. I think someone stole my credit card.
- 14:51Speaker 3: It was like Fresh Kitchen for the best Summer Ever,
- 14:54Speaker 3: because it's a call back to a video we posted
- 14:57Speaker 3: about Beatbox.
- 14:57Speaker 2: Anyway, somebody needs to actually take that slogan summer ever,
- 15:01Speaker 2: So I was looking for the reviews but now I
- 15:03Speaker 2: can't find it. But pretty much I already remember what
- 15:07Speaker 2: someone said. What they say, we're talking about your love
- 15:09Speaker 2: life on the podcast.
- 15:11Speaker 1: Before the touchy subjects.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Guy, I know. And this is why it's a funny comment,
- 15:15Speaker 2: because we have this sign in here that says how
- 15:18Speaker 2: many days it's been.
- 15:19Speaker 3: Oh, it's been nine days since the guy I got
- 15:24Speaker 3: set up with this texted me. And so the salesperson
- 15:27Speaker 3: I was supposed to talk to you yesterday was not
- 15:29Speaker 3: in so I have.
- 15:30Speaker 1: To talk to her today. Well, but now it's weird
- 15:33Speaker 1: because I keep going back to the sales pit and
- 15:35Speaker 1: I keep going, hey, where is she?
- 15:37Speaker 3: And they're like, are you here to talk about that
- 15:39Speaker 3: guy again? And so now I just look like this fucking.
- 15:42Speaker 2: No, they need it. They need I always think about like,
- 15:44Speaker 2: our jobs are fun because we bring in such like
- 15:47Speaker 2: weird stories we do, and we share it openly.
- 15:50Speaker 1: We'll liven up that sales pit.
- 15:52Speaker 2: It needs it. So look at this as like you're
- 15:54Speaker 2: giving back.
- 15:55Speaker 1: That's so true.
- 15:56Speaker 2: But one of the things we're talking about yesterday is
- 15:57Speaker 2: how you know you're going to go talk to the saleswoman.
- 16:00Speaker 1: I just want to see it.
- 16:01Speaker 3: I want her to finally give me her candid opinion
- 16:05Speaker 3: on this guy, because I think she'll.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Go, well, he actually is divorced.
- 16:09Speaker 1: He actually has seven wives. I thought you could be
- 16:12Speaker 1: the age he loves it.
- 16:13Speaker 2: But you were joking because like she's going to give
- 16:16Speaker 2: you like the sad news of like, oh my god,
- 16:18Speaker 2: you didn't hear he died. So somebody in the commons said,
- 16:24Speaker 2: Abby isn't cursed. Abby is the curse. Everybody that she
- 16:29Speaker 2: goes to talk to dies. So the guy from Bay
- 16:32Speaker 2: Shore the only reason he didn't ever get back to
- 16:35Speaker 2: you because he died.
- 16:36Speaker 1: He died.
- 16:37Speaker 2: This guy that you're talking to now, it's only been
- 16:39Speaker 2: nine days.
- 16:39Speaker 1: I'm like a hore crooks because they all died. But
- 16:45Speaker 1: here's the thing.
- 16:46Speaker 3: So me and my friend Taylor in the exact situation
- 16:48Speaker 3: I told you about her situation yesterday. She must have
- 16:51Speaker 3: just been on one yesterday, and I think we're both
- 16:54Speaker 3: kind of in the same astrological planets moving vibe because
- 16:57Speaker 3: I was feeling the same way yesterday where she texts.
- 17:00Speaker 3: She goes, Taylor, I hope you're okay with me, said
- 17:03Speaker 3: she's usually cool about the stuff.
- 17:04Speaker 1: She was I'm officially starting my man hater phase. That's right,
- 17:07Speaker 1: I'm off the apps again.
- 17:08Speaker 3: I lasted seven days, and I will not be giving
- 17:10Speaker 3: my number out to men.
- 17:11Speaker 1: For the foreseeable future. If they ask, I'm literally gonna
- 17:14Speaker 1: say no. I'm so over this. I'm in such a
- 17:17Speaker 1: bad mood about men and dating. I feel like such
- 17:19Speaker 1: a bitter bitch. I hope I'm having some kind of
- 17:21Speaker 1: fake period hormone shit going on. For the last forty
- 17:24Speaker 1: eight hours, I'm not being good.
- 17:26Speaker 3: And I'm sitting there and I had just seen tinks
- 17:29Speaker 3: Do say that she's giving up dating too, and I
- 17:31Speaker 3: just got so angry. I was like, yeah, I feel
- 17:34Speaker 3: the same way, Like it just shouldn't be this hard.
- 17:36Speaker 2: It really shouldn't. With as many people that there are
- 17:39Speaker 2: in this world. Why are so many of them? Like
- 17:42Speaker 2: legit trash, trash, trash? Why do you trash?
- 17:46Speaker 3: But they're out there, like I go out on Base Shore,
- 17:47Speaker 3: I'm like hot, hot, hot, But the problem is they're
- 17:50Speaker 3: terrible people.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Probably well, yeah, I.
- 17:52Speaker 2: Would say eight out of ten of them, And you
- 17:53Speaker 2: got to find the two, the two out of ten, teer, God,
- 17:56Speaker 2: you really do got to find the needle in the haystack.
- 17:58Speaker 3: I've gone to the phase where if I see a
- 17:59Speaker 3: happy col'll come up on my timeline.
- 18:01Speaker 2: I go, ah, oh, you're bitter towards it.
- 18:03Speaker 1: I'm bitter. It's not fair.
- 18:05Speaker 2: So I can like invite you out to like a
- 18:07Speaker 2: come out with my lady and I, oh.
- 18:09Speaker 1: No, yeah you can. Okay, you guys are my friends.
- 18:12Speaker 2: Okay, good.
- 18:13Speaker 3: But like seeing just a random happy couple from Wisconsin,
- 18:16Speaker 3: they don't deserve to be happy.
- 18:17Speaker 1: I'm not happy.
- 18:18Speaker 2: I never got to that bitter.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Yeah, because you've never been single, Scott.
- 18:22Speaker 2: I was single for a little bit.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Oh, oh my god, you were single for four days.
- 18:25Speaker 2: I've been single in the past.
- 18:27Speaker 1: You haven't. What's the longest stretch of time you've been single?
- 18:29Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, like a year.
- 18:31Speaker 1: Oh oh my god. It's a hard Scott.
- 18:33Speaker 2: Well, okay, that's valid. I guess I deserve that. But
- 18:36Speaker 2: when I was looking at couples before, as I before
- 18:39Speaker 2: I got into this relationship, I think I'm just such
- 18:41Speaker 2: like a lover boy that I would just be so
- 18:43Speaker 2: happy for them instead of like I'm bitter. I was like,
- 18:45Speaker 2: oh my god, I just can't wait for that.
- 18:47Speaker 3: Because you've never been single for an extended period of time.
- 18:51Speaker 3: We wouldn't feel this way if I had had like
- 18:53Speaker 3: a relationship a couple of years ago. I would just
- 18:55Speaker 3: be like, you know what, I'm in my single era
- 18:57Speaker 3: right now. I've been in my single era for ever,
- 19:00Speaker 3: and I'm over it. I'm so over it, and I'm
- 19:03Speaker 3: sick of hearing all these people online go.
- 19:05Speaker 1: You really just mine? I found myself. I found myself.
- 19:09Speaker 1: Not a huge fan of her, but A found her.
- 19:11Speaker 1: She's there. Well, I'm never gonna be perfectly healed.
- 19:15Speaker 3: Or fixed I'm away. There's always gonna be some kind
- 19:17Speaker 3: of weird thing I'm going through. I'm always gonna feel
- 19:19Speaker 3: a little puffy in my clothes, no matter how skinny
- 19:21Speaker 3: I get. I'm always gonna be a little mentally ill
- 19:22Speaker 3: because if by a therapist won't let me go on medication, like,
- 19:25Speaker 3: I'm always gonna be a little fucked up.
- 19:27Speaker 1: Let someone love me. Somebody will love you for that.
- 19:29Speaker 2: No they won't, Yes they will. I'm telling you what.
- 19:31Speaker 2: Somebody's gonna be like. I love that craziness in you,
- 19:33Speaker 2: and you're gonna be like what you're like.
- 19:35Speaker 1: It's always the ones that I don't want.
- 19:37Speaker 2: Yeah, it's gonna be like the twenty five year old
- 19:38Speaker 2: that you're like, dang, it's why you.
- 19:40Speaker 3: Another twenty six year old followed me on Instagram yesterday
- 19:43Speaker 3: and I'm like, I know why you followed me because
- 19:44Speaker 3: it was like followed from a specific reel. I'm like,
- 19:46Speaker 3: why do all the young uns like me now that
- 19:48Speaker 3: I'm old? Well, because now I feel like they're mummy.
- 19:51Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm mosita nosita, no mosita, no ma mosita.
- 19:57Speaker 2: I think you know there's again I told you before,
- 19:59Speaker 2: I'm algorithm. My see all the you know, all the
- 20:01Speaker 2: women are like dat a younger guy. It could be
- 20:03Speaker 2: the sign it's.
- 20:04Speaker 3: Your algorithm because you're dating an older woman most quote older.
- 20:07Speaker 2: Older one year older than me. Yeah, in your house
- 20:09Speaker 2: right now. Because I was thinking about this yesterday because
- 20:11Speaker 2: now that I'm living alone, there's a couple of new
- 20:13Speaker 2: things that I'm experiencing, and one is this new idea
- 20:17Speaker 2: of a fear of somebody breaking in and killing me.
- 20:22Speaker 1: Yep, that'll do it.
- 20:22Speaker 2: Yeah, And I was thinking about this yesterday as I'm
- 20:25Speaker 2: laying there and you do this where like every little
- 20:27Speaker 2: sound kind of sets you off because I set rain
- 20:30Speaker 2: sounds on and then I would hear like this little
- 20:33Speaker 2: and I'm like, oh, I'm like, oh my god. And
- 20:36Speaker 2: I had this whole envisionment of somebody like creeping up
- 20:38Speaker 2: the stairs to come and take me out. Yeah, and
- 20:41Speaker 2: I wanted to know, like, what are the things that
- 20:43Speaker 2: you have like that? Does that ever go away?
- 20:46Speaker 1: No?
- 20:47Speaker 3: I mean you go through It's it's it's like being
- 20:49Speaker 3: on a boat, Scott, what the hell does that? And
- 20:52Speaker 3: the waves sometimes rock you to sleep. Sometimes the waves
- 20:56Speaker 3: rock you awake with the envisionment of Brian Koberger coming
- 20:59Speaker 3: in and slashing your throat.
- 21:01Speaker 2: That sounds horrible.
- 21:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:03Speaker 2: I had to like really train my mind yesterday because
- 21:05Speaker 2: I had this horrible vision and I was like, I
- 21:08Speaker 2: can't think of that because I will never get to sleep.
- 21:09Speaker 2: And I stayed up for like an hour because I
- 21:11Speaker 2: kept thinking I hear stuff because I live in a
- 21:13Speaker 2: very interesting neighborhood where it's like people from just all
- 21:17Speaker 2: different walks of life. Like when I first moved in,
- 21:19Speaker 2: this guy's walking up the alleyway. It's super nice guy,
- 21:22Speaker 2: but scared the crap out of me because he had
- 21:23Speaker 2: two dogs off his leash. Yeah, and one's a big
- 21:25Speaker 2: ass dog, and I'm like, oh my god, this dog's
- 21:28Speaker 2: about to take off my leg and I'm not gonna
- 21:30Speaker 2: be able to do anything about it. And I'm literally
- 21:31Speaker 2: moving in right now. Also, I've lived in this neighborhood
- 21:34Speaker 2: kind of before, just a couple of streets down, and
- 21:36Speaker 2: I'd have like random shootings here and there.
- 21:39Speaker 1: You know, occasional glock going on, casual.
- 21:42Speaker 2: You know, you kind of get used to it.
- 21:44Speaker 1: But that's a lullabye baby.
- 21:50Speaker 2: It's not a fun one though. And so I know,
- 21:52Speaker 2: like my door, it's like I check it like four
- 21:54Speaker 2: times that it's locked, but it's almost like I want
- 21:57Speaker 2: to set it up like it's home alone. Or I
- 22:00Speaker 2: have things on the stairs that would be like the
- 22:02Speaker 2: booby traps. Yes, like I set up Legos on stair one.
- 22:05Speaker 1: Just get a security system.
- 22:07Speaker 2: I have a security system. I have cameras. Then you're fine,
- 22:09Speaker 2: But what are cameras gonna do if somebody truly wants
- 22:12Speaker 2: to get in the cameras aren't gonna shoot them.
- 22:14Speaker 3: No, you need an alarm system because at the very
- 22:16Speaker 3: least you can only do so much, Like I mean,
- 22:18Speaker 3: if somebody is really determined to kill you, you know, if
- 22:20Speaker 3: you piss off someone in the sales meeting and they're like,
- 22:22Speaker 3: you know.
- 22:22Speaker 1: What, it's just time.
- 22:24Speaker 2: It's time to take them out.
- 22:25Speaker 1: They're gonna take you out, but that's you know, a
- 22:27Speaker 1: point zero one percent.
- 22:28Speaker 2: Yeah, and then you're just gonna no matter what, you
- 22:29Speaker 2: could be in your house, you being your car, it'd
- 22:31Speaker 2: be at work. They can take me out.
- 22:32Speaker 3: However, if you get an alarm system, so if someone
- 22:35Speaker 3: breaks your window or opens your door, it'll at least
- 22:37Speaker 3: wake you up to give you.
- 22:38Speaker 1: A fighting chance, and maybe it'll scare off the murderer.
- 22:41Speaker 2: And I think that's all I want. I just want
- 22:42Speaker 2: a fighting chance. Like that was me yesterday, Like I
- 22:44Speaker 2: rolled away from my door and I was like, no,
- 22:47Speaker 2: I gotta roll back because I just gotta know, Like
- 22:49Speaker 2: if you're gonna come in, like at least let me
- 22:51Speaker 2: get the you're.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Gonna murder me, just tell me, yeah, give me.
- 22:54Speaker 2: The heads up or at least let me because I
- 22:56Speaker 2: don't want to be surprised. I think it's a surprise
- 22:58Speaker 2: that gets me versus the surprise.
- 22:59Speaker 1: Of getting murdered. That's that is the sequence of getting
- 23:04Speaker 1: murder that freaks you out the most.
- 23:05Speaker 2: It's the act of I'm gonna roll over and somebody
- 23:07Speaker 2: is gonna be there.
- 23:08Speaker 1: They're not.
- 23:08Speaker 3: You're gonna get a security system, you're gonna get your cameras,
- 23:11Speaker 3: and I have a safety bar on my door so
- 23:14Speaker 3: someone can't bash my door in.
- 23:15Speaker 2: That's okay. That might be the next move of just
- 23:17Speaker 2: something like I like, I don't know. I was thinking
- 23:19Speaker 2: about maybe like a rat trap and just have it
- 23:22Speaker 2: on like stair at number two, like legos and then
- 23:24Speaker 2: rat trap. If you get through those, you could take
- 23:26Speaker 2: me out.
- 23:26Speaker 1: I gotta tell you, if that stops the murderer, they
- 23:29Speaker 1: were never gonna kill you the first place.
- 23:30Speaker 2: I again, at least that gives me a heads up,
- 23:33Speaker 2: like I would to hear somebody. They would step on it,
- 23:35Speaker 2: they would go ah. I would then know someone's in
- 23:38Speaker 2: my house.
- 23:38Speaker 3: The sad part about living in twenty twenty six is
- 23:40Speaker 3: you have more of a chance of getting stabbed at
- 23:42Speaker 3: publics than you.
- 23:44Speaker 1: Do in your own house.
- 23:45Speaker 3: You know what I feel like, I keep seeing headlines
- 23:47Speaker 3: of like random woman gets slashed on the belt line
- 23:50Speaker 3: in Atlanta, random woman at University of Washington doing her
- 23:53Speaker 3: laundry stabbed in the back, Like it's crazy.
- 23:56Speaker 2: That is horrible. It's awful.
- 23:57Speaker 1: Beat people are trying to kill you. Scot the tree kill me.
- 24:00Speaker 2: Oh that's true. That is true, but it is something
- 24:03Speaker 2: that I'm now experiencing, like because I before, I've always
- 24:05Speaker 2: had the roommates. So I'm like, statistically, at least we
- 24:10Speaker 2: have a fighting chance, Like I probably won't be the
- 24:11Speaker 2: first roommate taken out.
- 24:12Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 24:13Speaker 3: Have you read any story about somebody getting murdered They
- 24:15Speaker 3: always live with someone else.
- 24:16Speaker 2: Oh well, then in that case, I guess I was
- 24:18Speaker 2: never set up for success.
- 24:19Speaker 1: So now you're safer now that you're alone.
- 24:21Speaker 2: Oh well, then in that case good.
- 24:22Speaker 3: And then you don't have to worry about your roommate
- 24:24Speaker 3: leaving the door unlocked.
- 24:26Speaker 2: Oh that's true. That was the Oh my gosh, you
- 24:28Speaker 2: don't even know. In my other situations, I would literally
- 24:31Speaker 2: get up in the middle and the door would legitimately
- 24:34Speaker 2: be open.
- 24:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 24:35Speaker 3: So I used to live in a sorority house and
- 24:36Speaker 3: that was my fear because people would just kind of
- 24:38Speaker 3: they wouldn't shut the door all the way. They'd come
- 24:40Speaker 3: home drunk for the bars. And I'm like, if somebody
- 24:42Speaker 3: really wanted to, like, if they camped out enough, they
- 24:44Speaker 3: could find they could slide in at some point.
- 24:47Speaker 2: Oh my god. Yeah, it's way too easy in your
- 24:50Speaker 2: sorority house. I was just talking to my girlfriend about this.
- 24:53Speaker 2: I didn't realize that at big schools you all had
- 24:55Speaker 2: certain amenities that other like. I went to USF. We
- 24:59Speaker 2: had greek life, but it was not like greek life
- 25:01Speaker 2: at these big SEC schools.
- 25:02Speaker 1: No, y'all had like suburban houses.
- 25:04Speaker 2: We had like a regular I had a like a
- 25:06Speaker 2: house on campus. It was cool, it was nice. We
- 25:08Speaker 2: had the nicest house on campus.
- 25:09Speaker 1: I'd say, but what fraternity were you in.
- 25:11Speaker 2: I was in Sigma New Sigma. Yeah, I am not
- 25:15Speaker 2: anymore in that fraternity.
- 25:16Speaker 1: Did you resign?
- 25:18Speaker 2: I did resign, So you're not You're not a Sigma anymore.
- 25:21Speaker 2: I am not a Sigma anymore.
- 25:22Speaker 1: I whoa.
- 25:23Speaker 2: I was a president. I did all the things, but
- 25:25Speaker 2: then we had a falling out. I went my own way.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Yeah, this looks like every house my friends grew up in.
- 25:31Speaker 2: Are you looking at the outside of the house.
- 25:32Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, Well it's so Florida.
- 25:35Speaker 2: It's very basic. It's not like what you all had
- 25:38Speaker 2: at UF.
- 25:39Speaker 1: Yeah, we had like houses houses.
- 25:41Speaker 2: Well, I think it's ridiculous, and I think we might
- 25:44Speaker 2: have mentioned this before. I think you've told me that
- 25:47Speaker 2: you all had a chef. Is that correct? Okay?
- 25:49Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, chef is not. It's not like the guy.
- 25:53Speaker 2: At Boolaun was that person cooking meals? They were cooking
- 25:56Speaker 2: meals crazy.
- 25:57Speaker 3: Someone, Yeah, but I mean it was a part of
- 25:59Speaker 3: your do so you paid for somebody.
- 26:01Speaker 2: It was super sweet. But then I also learned I
- 26:03Speaker 2: didn't know this, but this past week, did you all
- 26:05Speaker 2: have a bus boy?
- 26:07Speaker 3: Oh my god, can I tell you a fun anecdote
- 26:09Speaker 3: about the bus boys?
- 26:10Speaker 2: So you did have one?
- 26:11Speaker 3: Okay, not only did we have several bus boys, several
- 26:15Speaker 3: I was in charge of them.
- 26:16Speaker 1: I was their boss. Of course you want, of course
- 26:20Speaker 1: I was. So this is this is fun. This is
- 26:22Speaker 1: a fun anecdote.
- 26:23Speaker 3: I don't think I've ever told the story before on
- 26:25Speaker 3: the radio or whatever. So my sophomore year, I lived
- 26:29Speaker 3: in house and I was on exec I got elected
- 26:31Speaker 3: as house manager. And basically that means you're kind of
- 26:34Speaker 3: in charge. You're not in charge of the chef. You're like,
- 26:36Speaker 3: you kind of communicate between the girls and the chefs.
- 26:39Speaker 3: So if like things aren't going well with meals, you
- 26:41Speaker 3: go to the chef.
- 26:41Speaker 2: And you go, hey, somebody's complaining about the pbgs.
- 26:44Speaker 1: Someone's complaining about the cornflake chicken, little.
- 26:47Speaker 2: Soggy corn flake chicken.
- 26:49Speaker 3: You know, if they're not liking the meals, you do
- 26:50Speaker 3: stuff like that. But you're also I also got to
- 26:53Speaker 3: hire a bunch of bus boys my first semester in power.
- 26:56Speaker 2: Oh my god.
- 26:57Speaker 1: And when I.
- 26:58Speaker 3: Tell you, I flexed that power to the highest extent.
- 27:03Speaker 3: I think somebody sent a text to one of my
- 27:04Speaker 3: friends that said, yeah, I wanted to apply to be
- 27:06Speaker 3: a busboy a DZ, but I don't think I'm.
- 27:08Speaker 4: Hot enough because I was only hiring hot, cool guys
- 27:12Speaker 4: because I'm like, I wanted to turn into our own
- 27:15Speaker 4: personal Hooters to where I'm like all the hot guys.
- 27:18Speaker 3: Because they have to show up and you know, they
- 27:20Speaker 3: have to wash the tables and like, you know, they
- 27:22Speaker 3: were their late prins. Q.
- 27:24Speaker 2: Yeah is it okay? Wait a second, they were a
- 27:26Speaker 2: lot of.
- 27:26Speaker 3: Them were also like my friends or like my brother's
- 27:28Speaker 3: friends or whatever. So yeah, like I'm exaggerating, but I mean, yeah,
- 27:33Speaker 3: like I was. When I hired them, I was thinking,
- 27:35Speaker 3: Who's who were the hot ones?
- 27:37Speaker 2: Who's gonna be nice to look at?
- 27:39Speaker 1: Nice to look at and so.
- 27:40Speaker 3: I remember this was my So this is also more
- 27:44Speaker 3: extensive lore. I made out with this guy. So I
- 27:47Speaker 3: made out with this guy named Brad, and I was
- 27:49Speaker 3: like obsessed with Brad.
- 27:50Speaker 1: It was like Brad, Brad. I love Brad because.
- 27:53Speaker 3: He was tall and brunette, and you know, he would
- 27:55Speaker 3: pay attention to me. And so then Brad and his
- 27:58Speaker 3: two or three other friends all applied to be bus boys,
- 28:02Speaker 3: and so I was going to do this whole extensive
- 28:04Speaker 3: interview process. So I had all these other girls come
- 28:06Speaker 3: to be judges to interview these guys.
- 28:08Speaker 1: And the day of he sent me a text to
- 28:10Speaker 1: back out, and I was like.
- 28:11Speaker 2: Brad, you can't back out now, bread back out, Brad.
- 28:14Speaker 3: But I was obsessed with Brad because I was because
- 28:17Speaker 3: he was a frat boy.
- 28:18Speaker 1: Literally had no reason to like him except for the
- 28:21Speaker 1: fact I thought he was hot.
- 28:22Speaker 2: I mean, those are the fun years in college where
- 28:24Speaker 2: it's like I remember I was just talking to a
- 28:26Speaker 2: friend because I was talking to a friend about how
- 28:28Speaker 2: he had a weekend this past weekend where he made
- 28:30Speaker 2: out with a couple different people at a bar. At
- 28:32Speaker 2: one bar, a couple different people, and I said to him,
- 28:34Speaker 2: I can't do that anymore, not because I'm in a relationship.
- 28:37Speaker 2: I mean, like literally when I was single, like going
- 28:39Speaker 2: out to a bar and just making out with a
- 28:40Speaker 2: bunch of random strangers.
- 28:41Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I stopped that after sophomore year. It scares
- 28:44Speaker 1: the crap out of because you've got no idea what
- 28:45Speaker 1: kind of sickness they got. I remember Brad got me sick.
- 28:48Speaker 1: See it was worth it because I was like he
- 28:50Speaker 1: was hot.
- 28:50Speaker 2: Yeah. In college it was a completely different situation.
- 28:53Speaker 1: Huh.
- 28:53Speaker 2: You'd be at a party and be like, all right,
- 28:54Speaker 2: May got here and then you know what, like an hour,
- 28:57Speaker 2: make got over here. Like that does not happen, but
- 29:00Speaker 2: I guess it still does for some folks.
- 29:02Speaker 1: Some people can do it. I'm my front.
- 29:03Speaker 3: The lobe developed at like twenty one, and I was like, no,
- 29:05Speaker 3: I'm not gonna do that again.
- 29:07Speaker 2: Like that side scares me. And I don't know if
- 29:09Speaker 2: like drunk Scott now would be like yeah no, like
- 29:13Speaker 2: that in part I think still always pops up in
- 29:15Speaker 2: my head where I'm like I don't want to wake
- 29:16Speaker 2: up with some kind of weird thing going on in
- 29:18Speaker 2: my throat, weird thing going on on my face, weird thing.
- 29:21Speaker 1: Going on the lip all the things. Yeah, I don't
- 29:23Speaker 1: know what's going on with you with these bus boys.
- 29:25Speaker 2: Would they be wearing like because at Hooters obviously it's.
- 29:29Speaker 3: Yeah, I put them in Hucci Mama shorts and little
- 29:31Speaker 3: pink aprons. No, they would come wearing their fraternity T
- 29:34Speaker 3: shirts and chubbies like they wore their typical outfits.
- 29:37Speaker 1: That's so crazy to me, so fun though I was
- 29:39Speaker 1: their boss.
- 29:40Speaker 2: That's awesome that they would come and just clean your house.
- 29:42Speaker 3: I don't know, they didn't clean the house. They just
- 29:44Speaker 3: cleaned up like the tables and stuff. Or they would
- 29:45Speaker 3: serve meals if we were doing it family style, and
- 29:48Speaker 3: they were just dudes. A lot of them were like
- 29:49Speaker 3: my friends. It was just fun. But yeah, I had
- 29:51Speaker 3: a little group chat with them. I had to communicate
- 29:54Speaker 3: their their bus boy duties.
- 29:56Speaker 2: You get to just boss them around them a little bit.
- 29:57Speaker 1: Yeah. I just thought it was really fun.
- 29:59Speaker 2: That's so cool. Because I was talking to my girlfriend
- 30:01Speaker 2: about that, I'm like, that is insane to me. The
- 30:03Speaker 2: differences and what access you all had and how it
- 30:06Speaker 2: was treated versus like what we did.
- 30:08Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a different beast at different schools.
- 30:10Speaker 2: Oh my god. Yeah, because how many people were in
- 30:12Speaker 2: your sorority.
- 30:13Speaker 1: One hundred sixty.
- 30:16Speaker 2: I think that's insane. I know, that's like Madhouse.
- 30:19Speaker 3: You know, one year they ranked us by looks what.
- 30:23Speaker 2: How did Oh god, this.
- 30:24Speaker 3: Is I'm telling all my sorority anecdotes. So my sophomore
- 30:28Speaker 3: year everything happened sophomore year. Sophomore year was like my
- 30:30Speaker 3: quintessential college year. Yes, and then after that I was
- 30:32Speaker 3: like an adult. So my sophomore year is my first year.
- 30:35Speaker 3: We're going through recruitment on the other side. And if
- 30:37Speaker 3: you've never seen SEC sorority recruitment from the outside, it.
- 30:41Speaker 1: Literally looks like we're all Stepford Wive robots.
- 30:44Speaker 2: It looks terrifying when I see the reels on Instagram.
- 30:47Speaker 3: Because you're all in these different formations and you all
- 30:48Speaker 3: come down the stairs and it's choreographed, and.
- 30:51Speaker 1: We all say the same things. You're like, Hi, welcome
- 30:52Speaker 1: to Delta Zeta. Can I take your bag? And so robots.
- 30:57Speaker 3: So what I'm trying to say by that is we
- 30:58Speaker 3: had this lineup, and so just to make it easier,
- 31:00Speaker 3: they wanted to give us all numbers so that when
- 31:03Speaker 3: you know you could do a lineup, be like number one, two, three, four,
- 31:06Speaker 3: and so there was a number missing. You knew, who's
- 31:08Speaker 3: number eighty four? Number eighty four is missing. That's abby.
- 31:11Speaker 3: So I think there were one hundred and fifty six
- 31:13Speaker 3: girls in the sorority, and my sophomore year we got
- 31:16Speaker 3: the lineup, and of course number one is Malibu Barbie.
- 31:20Speaker 3: Oh and number one sixty is the girl that never
- 31:23Speaker 3: comes around the house, just like a girl who's more
- 31:25Speaker 3: chill less sorority esque, if that makes sense. And it
- 31:30Speaker 3: was very obvious what they had done because like the
- 31:33Speaker 3: Malibu Barbies were one through twenty or whatever, and then like,
- 31:36Speaker 3: you know, their littles were twenty through forty. I think
- 31:39Speaker 3: I was eighty four, which I was so offended by in.
- 31:42Speaker 1: The moment, but now I'm like, you know what I
- 31:44Speaker 1: was average. I was like, number eighty four wasn't too bad.
- 31:48Speaker 2: I'm right in the middle of the pack. That's kind
- 31:50Speaker 2: of cool, right in.
- 31:50Speaker 1: The middle of the pack.
- 31:51Speaker 3: But yeah, I don't know what I did to piss
- 31:53Speaker 3: off some of the girls in charge of recruitment, but
- 31:57Speaker 3: they never wanted to use me for recruitment, which is
- 31:59Speaker 3: so funny considering what I do for work, because I'm like,
- 32:02Speaker 3: I'm literally in communications, y'all like a literally chit chat
- 32:05Speaker 3: for a limus.
- 32:05Speaker 2: You're a professional yapper.
- 32:07Speaker 1: I'm a professional yapper.
- 32:08Speaker 2: It does blow my mind when I see the videos
- 32:10Speaker 2: of how the recruitment was like for dudes, we would
- 32:13Speaker 2: literally have like a cigar and poker night where it's
- 32:16Speaker 2: come over, we're gonna hang out, have a beer and
- 32:19Speaker 2: let's just chat, or be like, hey, we're gonna go
- 32:21Speaker 2: watch a football game. I think for when I was
- 32:23Speaker 2: going through recruitment, I think we went and did like
- 32:25Speaker 2: top golf, like right down the street here, went golfed
- 32:28Speaker 2: a little bit. It was completely free. Got to have
- 32:31Speaker 2: fun with the dudes, and that was it.
- 32:33Speaker 1: We love that.
- 32:34Speaker 2: And then at the end of the day, if you're
- 32:35Speaker 2: a chill you're kind of cool. You got put in
- 32:38Speaker 2: the free give you a bit.
- 32:39Speaker 1: It's easy. See, women can't be chill about anything.
- 32:42Speaker 3: We literally use the same matching system that they use
- 32:45Speaker 3: for people applying for residency for doctors and stuff.
- 32:49Speaker 2: That's wild, I know in a weird way because I've
- 32:53Speaker 2: heard some of the things that goes down in the rankings,
- 32:55Speaker 2: but like it. It has worked technically for this long.
- 33:00Speaker 3: I think it's not a perfect system. But I mean,
- 33:02Speaker 3: I do think it does work. Mostly it's really brutal
- 33:06Speaker 3: in the sense that, like it is so politically incorrect
- 33:10Speaker 3: because you're just letting people, You're letting people choose you
- 33:13Speaker 3: based off how desirable you are. And the reality is
- 33:16Speaker 3: is there's p and ms who are on everybody's list,
- 33:18Speaker 3: and there are p and ms who are not on
- 33:19Speaker 3: everyone's list. And regardless like however you perform in that
- 33:23Speaker 3: room with those girls or however you present looks wise like,
- 33:27Speaker 3: that's how you get shuffled. And I think that's why
- 33:29Speaker 3: it's so psychologically damaging, is it's the first time as
- 33:33Speaker 3: an adult life doesn't really get to be sugarcoated, like
- 33:36Speaker 3: they're kind of telling you this is where you fall
- 33:37Speaker 3: into the ranks. And it's not that I think that
- 33:39Speaker 3: houses are better one way or another because of quote
- 33:42Speaker 3: unquote how P and ms are ranking them, because we
- 33:45Speaker 3: can get in the whole you know, quote unquote tear
- 33:47Speaker 3: system that supposedly exists. The tear system is really just
- 33:50Speaker 3: what P and ms are asking for the most duram recruitment,
- 33:54Speaker 3: and those are the perceived cool houses. So yes, you're
- 33:58Speaker 3: also getting ranked in the same way where there are
- 34:01Speaker 3: you know, more desirable p and ms. And that's really
- 34:04Speaker 3: damaging as an eighteen year old to be told that
- 34:06Speaker 3: you're average.
- 34:07Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, you're number eighty four.
- 34:10Speaker 3: Yeah, because you know, we're all at the University of Florida,
- 34:12Speaker 3: where we're all objectively not average, because we all got
- 34:16Speaker 3: into the school and then here you are, the playing
- 34:19Speaker 3: field is leveled again.
- 34:20Speaker 2: All of a sudden, you're just back with everybody else.
- 34:22Speaker 3: All of a sudden, you're just vanilla ice cream.
- 34:25Speaker 2: Wouldn't you Okay, let's just say hypothetically, if you had kids,
- 34:29Speaker 2: would you want them going through and doing anything in
- 34:32Speaker 2: Greek life?
- 34:33Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 34:33Speaker 3: But I also think what was hard for me is
- 34:35Speaker 3: nobody really helped me going through recruitment. I remember one
- 34:39Speaker 3: girl that was in a house that I thought I
- 34:40Speaker 3: was going to join that I probably would have joined
- 34:43Speaker 3: if someone had fucking helped me. Ah, And don't that's
- 34:46Speaker 3: not to say I don't want to be in the
- 34:48Speaker 3: sorty that I ended up in.
- 34:49Speaker 1: Gat. I had a really great sorty experience.
- 34:51Speaker 3: And I'm so grateful for that, Like push that aside,
- 34:54Speaker 3: But there was a house that I would have really
- 34:55Speaker 3: fit in, but nobody was tellelling me like what's going
- 35:01Speaker 3: through the women that are recruiting use heads Like the
- 35:05Speaker 3: first round, it's kind of just bullshit. It's just are
- 35:08Speaker 3: you cute and can you somewhat hold a conversation? Cool,
- 35:11Speaker 3: you'll probably make it to the next round for most houses.
- 35:13Speaker 3: Nobody told me that I needed a really good headshot,
- 35:15Speaker 3: Like I remember freaking out about that over summer, thinking
- 35:18Speaker 3: I really needed a good photo and my mom wouldn't
- 35:20Speaker 3: take me to go get headshots to look cute or whatever,
- 35:24Speaker 3: and yeah, that's kind of how you're getting decided.
- 35:27Speaker 1: Round one is your head shot.
- 35:28Speaker 3: So like if someone's telling me, oh, yeah, I just
- 35:31Speaker 3: use that like random merrbook photo, Like, you're not putting
- 35:34Speaker 3: yourself in a good position for round one. And so
- 35:35Speaker 3: then you get cut from this house and you don't
- 35:37Speaker 3: know why because you thought your conversation was fine, and
- 35:39Speaker 3: the reality is your conversation probably was fine, but that's
- 35:41Speaker 3: not what they're ranking you are.
- 35:42Speaker 2: That's not what they're looking at.
- 35:44Speaker 1: But no one's telling you that.
- 35:45Speaker 3: Yeah, And so then you walk into a house heartbroken
- 35:48Speaker 3: being like oh my god, like I'm XYZ. House just
- 35:51Speaker 3: dropped me, and now you've got like tears in your
- 35:52Speaker 3: eyes and yeah, yeah, I was not a good.
- 35:56Speaker 2: P and M Yeah. I think a little help would
- 35:58Speaker 2: go a long way, a little guidance. They also have
- 36:00Speaker 2: somebody because when I went through, nobody in my life
- 36:02Speaker 2: like went through that system, but again super chill. Like
- 36:06Speaker 2: I when I got on campus at USF on the
- 36:09Speaker 2: first week I was there for summer, and I just
- 36:12Speaker 2: saw some dudes hanging out by a fraternity sign. I
- 36:14Speaker 2: went and chatted it up with them. We started talking
- 36:16Speaker 2: about football and they're like, dude, just come play flag
- 36:18Speaker 2: football with us, And so all summer I played flag
- 36:19Speaker 2: football with them. I already knew what I was going
- 36:21Speaker 2: to join because I was like, oh, you guys are
- 36:22Speaker 2: my dudes, Like this is exactly what to be a
- 36:24Speaker 2: part of.
- 36:24Speaker 1: It's probably the healthier way to go about recruitment.
- 36:26Speaker 2: Oh yeah, we already were like natural friends. But what
- 36:29Speaker 2: was so weird And this will just give you a
- 36:31Speaker 2: little insider and like what it's like of joining, Like
- 36:34Speaker 2: we were bros. Like all summer I would go to
- 36:36Speaker 2: their house for parties and they would be like treating
- 36:38Speaker 2: me like, oh freaking man, I wasn't a member.
- 36:41Speaker 1: Yet because they want you to join, uh huh.
- 36:43Speaker 2: And as soon I never will forget as soon as
- 36:47Speaker 2: I was now a member. I was a new member
- 36:49Speaker 2: and the same kind of deal. We're at their house
- 36:51Speaker 2: party and I walk up to it and they won't
- 36:52Speaker 2: even look at me. What because they had it was
- 36:56Speaker 2: like a weird thing, like it were still like cool,
- 36:57Speaker 2: but they wouldn't even like acknowledge me, like none of
- 36:59Speaker 2: like the cool dap up brotherhood stuff because I needed
- 37:02Speaker 2: to earn it now I was new. So now it's like,
- 37:05Speaker 2: all right, you don't get the same luxuries that you
- 37:07Speaker 2: got all summer. You have to earn it.
- 37:09Speaker 1: So how do you feel about that? Having gone through
- 37:11Speaker 1: it now.
- 37:12Speaker 2: I understand that side of it. Like my first year
- 37:16Speaker 2: was awesome, Like I really did, honestly like that. Not
- 37:20Speaker 2: that I had to earn to be liked, but I
- 37:23Speaker 2: liked that how they grew our brotherhood in that moment,
- 37:25Speaker 2: like we had to do things together where they wanted
- 37:27Speaker 2: us just hanging out with the new members, like get
- 37:29Speaker 2: really super close as a pledge class, do things together,
- 37:32Speaker 2: earn the respect of the older brothers. Kind of liked that. Now,
- 37:35Speaker 2: it took very different turns as I went up in
- 37:37Speaker 2: the fraternity, and things weren't always like that, Yeah, certain
- 37:40Speaker 2: guys got privileges that we never got as new members,
- 37:43Speaker 2: or older guys would treat younger members like you know,
- 37:46Speaker 2: I wasn't looked at where that's no big deal. By
- 37:49Speaker 2: the time I was leaving my time, I had older
- 37:52Speaker 2: brothers treating the new members like literal trash. Wow. And
- 37:56Speaker 2: that's where I was like, all right, we have now overstepped.
- 37:59Speaker 2: We have gone too far.
- 38:00Speaker 1: It would be a purpose for everything, exactly.
- 38:02Speaker 3: I'm not necessarily saying I'm for hazing or whatever, but
- 38:06Speaker 3: I guess I can understand it if there's a thought
- 38:08Speaker 3: process behind it.
- 38:09Speaker 1: Yeah, Like you've got to earn your way into the
- 38:10Speaker 1: brotherhood exactly.
- 38:11Speaker 2: And once you became like a folio like into the
- 38:14Speaker 2: brotherhood again, same kind of deal, Like, yes, we just
- 38:16Speaker 2: needed you to like really show that you wanted this,
- 38:18Speaker 2: really earn it and everything like that. I like that,
- 38:21Speaker 2: but it was kind of a shock when I walked in.
- 38:22Speaker 2: I was like, what's up, dudes, and they're like who
- 38:25Speaker 2: are you who? Like get out of here, and I'm like, oh,
- 38:28Speaker 2: this is awkward. We literally are just playing football, Like no,
- 38:30Speaker 2: we could go that's fine. I feel like garbage. At
- 38:33Speaker 2: the time, it sucked so it's funny.
- 38:34Speaker 3: I feel like the sorty recruitment process for women is
- 38:37Speaker 3: psychologically damaging, but then you're in and they're like.
- 38:39Speaker 1: Oh my god, you're the best, say we'll love you,
- 38:41Speaker 1: you'd be able to, Whereas I feel like it's a
- 38:43Speaker 1: complete opposite with guys, where it's easier to get in,
- 38:45Speaker 1: but then once you're in, it's more psychologically damaging from
- 38:48Speaker 1: that point of view.
- 38:48Speaker 2: From the very beginning. Yes, yeah, like once you're in it,
- 38:51Speaker 2: then you're good, like a fully initiated, but like we
- 38:53Speaker 2: have to earn that first year of like all right,
- 38:55Speaker 2: you got to show that you want to be a
- 38:56Speaker 2: part of this.
- 38:57Speaker 1: Uh huh.
- 38:57Speaker 2: This is not just something that you're handed over.
- 38:59Speaker 3: And that's so interesting because I feel like it touches
- 39:00Speaker 3: on the things that are psychologically difficult for men and women.
- 39:03Speaker 1: Like women, you're really getting.
- 39:04Speaker 3: Judged based off of your social competence, like how pretty
- 39:08Speaker 3: we think you are, how we think you're going to
- 39:10Speaker 3: interact with guys, And so when you keep getting bumped
- 39:12Speaker 3: down the list, you start thinking, oh my god, these
- 39:14Speaker 3: people don't think I have value, which is which is
- 39:17Speaker 3: not true, but I mean that's how it feels. Yes,
- 39:19Speaker 3: and then when you join as a guy, it's like, well,
- 39:21Speaker 3: these are my brothers, these are my bros.
- 39:22Speaker 1: And then they just slowly like rip away yourself year
- 39:25Speaker 1: for six weeks until you're initiated.
- 39:27Speaker 2: Literally, I mean I remember in the first year of
- 39:29Speaker 2: like you have to really it's a challenge, and that's
- 39:31Speaker 2: how like guys like to be challenged. Usually we like
- 39:34Speaker 2: to be pushed to make us grow, and so in
- 39:37Speaker 2: that time period, it's like challenge after challenge after challenge
- 39:40Speaker 2: to show like are you willing to go through this
- 39:42Speaker 2: That sounds like hazing. I'm not saying hazing, but are
- 39:45Speaker 2: you willing to do this in order to then get
- 39:47Speaker 2: to the final step of being officially a brother. Yeah,
- 39:50Speaker 2: you have to earn your way in which honestly for us,
- 39:53Speaker 2: for me, like that feels incredible because then you do
- 39:55Speaker 2: it and you're like, I deserve to be here. I
- 39:58Speaker 2: wasn't just given the silver platter. I earn every moment
- 40:00Speaker 2: of being in this place. It was fun the first year,
- 40:03Speaker 2: and then obviously it's like you said, like after sophomore year,
- 40:05Speaker 2: like all right, I grow up.
- 40:06Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, Like junior and senior year, it's just a
- 40:08Speaker 3: different You're not as as heavily involved.
- 40:10Speaker 1: Like freshman year, you're like, Okay, this is new and
- 40:12Speaker 1: the sophomore year software ye is the best.
- 40:14Speaker 3: Junior year for me would have been more fun, but
- 40:16Speaker 3: the police just kept raiding all of the bars, and
- 40:18Speaker 3: so I was always terrified to go out on the weekends.
- 40:21Speaker 3: I was like, I don't want to get caught doing
- 40:23Speaker 3: something I'm not supposed to be doing.
- 40:24Speaker 2: That's interesting, that uf because obviously it's like one of
- 40:27Speaker 2: the biggest schools in the world.
- 40:28Speaker 1: That's what I mean.
- 40:28Speaker 3: It's like, why are you raiding the bars? You know
- 40:31Speaker 3: we're gonna go out no matter what.
- 40:32Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's because it's obviously.
- 40:34Speaker 1: You're just ruining kids' futures for no reason.
- 40:37Speaker 2: That's true.
- 40:37Speaker 1: That's what I was bothered by.
- 40:38Speaker 3: I'm like, you, we're all pretty well adjusted humans, Like
- 40:41Speaker 3: we all got into the school.
- 40:42Speaker 1: We're fine, Like, let us live. Yeah. Like I'm not
- 40:45Speaker 1: saying not promoting legal activity, but I'm just saying when
- 40:48Speaker 1: I did it, it was okay.
- 40:51Speaker 3: I did it in like a fun, fun, flirty college way,
- 40:55Speaker 3: not like an illegal, fake idea way.
- 40:56Speaker 1: Well I never had a fake idea.
- 40:59Speaker 2: Though, I know it's uh, that's a probably good thing.
- 41:01Speaker 1: Yeah, yeahah, I would never do that.
- 41:03Speaker 2: Yeah, well, when it's accessible, some people.
- 41:06Speaker 1: Do, some people do, and shame on you for doing that. Well,
- 41:09Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 41:10Speaker 2: If I throw shame somebody's away. I think I'm being
- 41:12Speaker 2: physicians for uh women. It's it's nice that you're able
- 41:16Speaker 2: to get into bars a lot easier because there I
- 41:18Speaker 2: remember walking up the bars as like a freshman or
- 41:20Speaker 2: a sophomore and like the guy would literally look at
- 41:22Speaker 2: me like absolutely not a girl right behind me be like,
- 41:26Speaker 2: oh yeah, come on in what the hell we're in
- 41:28Speaker 2: the same age, Like what the I get it now?
- 41:31Speaker 1: The girls bring the vibes they I mean, obviously.
- 41:33Speaker 2: I think one of the things that frustrates me is,
- 41:35Speaker 2: you know there's some places that it's like, you know,
- 41:38Speaker 2: those activities are going down like and look at as
- 41:40Speaker 2: like like a parent looking in. As long as nothing
- 41:43Speaker 2: horrible is happening, you know, like there's gonna be kids
- 41:46Speaker 2: that are doing things that they probably shouldn't. Yeah, it's
- 41:48Speaker 2: we could. We don't have to beat around the bush.
- 41:50Speaker 2: It's part of the college experience.
- 41:52Speaker 3: No, And it's also dumb, like we're adults and you
- 41:54Speaker 3: tell me I'm eighteen years old. I can do everything
- 41:56Speaker 3: except I can't have a sip of alcohol.
- 41:58Speaker 2: Well that's what's I mean, you've been a year plenty
- 42:00Speaker 2: of times.
- 42:00Speaker 1: I know it's done. They're fine. Well actually maybe not.
- 42:03Speaker 2: I don't know if they're fine, but it is better.
- 42:05Speaker 3: But you know, we're still I know kids that started
- 42:08Speaker 3: drinking in high school. I didn't start really drinking until
- 42:10Speaker 3: I was almost nineteen. I mean I kind of drank
- 42:13Speaker 3: a little bit freshman year, but not really until I
- 42:15Speaker 3: was nineteen.
- 42:16Speaker 2: Yeah, like I was a bad I don't know. I
- 42:18Speaker 2: was a I was a rough teen, but I think
- 42:20Speaker 2: it prepared me. I think when I got into college,
- 42:23Speaker 2: I wasn't the one that was always just getting sloshed. No,
- 42:26Speaker 2: I was already kind of a I grew past that
- 42:29Speaker 2: a little bit. Yeah, I could be a little bit
- 42:31Speaker 2: more responsible with it.
- 42:32Speaker 1: I was doing acid.
- 42:33Speaker 3: He's like, I've seen it all This natty light is
- 42:36Speaker 3: not going to do anything to me.
- 42:37Speaker 2: I was doing a lot of dumb things, but it
- 42:39Speaker 2: was a different beast. But it is kind of interesting
- 42:41Speaker 2: that they were doing all those raids at a massive
- 42:43Speaker 2: campus where it's like people, because I've heard a lot
- 42:45Speaker 2: of people with like, again, I don't know, what is
- 42:47Speaker 2: it drinking under the influence or not under age? Like
- 42:50Speaker 2: underage drinking, like just putting it on your record. I'm like, yikes.
- 42:52Speaker 3: They also got rid of unregistered frat parties, which was
- 42:55Speaker 3: really annoying. So basically it means you had to go
- 42:57Speaker 3: through a whole registration process in order to be able
- 43:00Speaker 3: to have some kind of big social event. So all
- 43:02Speaker 3: like the safe places to drink when you were quote
- 43:05Speaker 3: unquote underage, Yeah, you couldn't go to either.
- 43:07Speaker 1: So I'm like, wherever was that fun in your home?
- 43:11Speaker 1: In my house with your friend? But it's in my
- 43:12Speaker 1: storty house where you couldn't drink either?
- 43:14Speaker 2: Well we did that though, Well yeah, I mean I
- 43:17Speaker 2: feel like, how was you not drink at a story house?
- 43:19Speaker 2: Like what about like a wine night hanging out everybody
- 43:22Speaker 2: watching a show like that? Those are the moments that
- 43:24Speaker 2: I missed the most. Like we used to watch like
- 43:26Speaker 2: the Super Bowl together and it'd be like everybody on
- 43:28Speaker 2: the couches in the house like partying, but it was
- 43:31Speaker 2: like maybe a couple women were there, but it's just
- 43:34Speaker 2: mainly the dude just be a dude. Yeah, I like
- 43:37Speaker 2: those moments.
- 43:37Speaker 3: We didn't really do a lot of like group hangouts
- 43:39Speaker 3: because we didn't have like a big living room. Our
- 43:41Speaker 3: house was very two thousands coded where there were a
- 43:44Speaker 3: lot of like rooms.
- 43:46Speaker 1: So you walk in and there was a foyer. Oh,
- 43:49Speaker 1: and then there was a library, so people would study
- 43:51Speaker 1: in the library.
- 43:52Speaker 3: And then we had the chapter room, which was also
- 43:55Speaker 3: the dining room, and so I would see people a
- 43:57Speaker 3: lot in the chapter room. And then we had a
- 43:59Speaker 3: tea room, but it was so small you couldn't fit
- 44:02Speaker 3: like more than twelve thirteen people in there.
- 44:04Speaker 2: See, Like I feel like those would be the greatest
- 44:06Speaker 2: moments of like everyone together like they do now for
- 44:08Speaker 2: these shows that we have all over Tampa watch parties
- 44:10Speaker 2: like that would have been so wholesome.
- 44:13Speaker 1: I will say, those are some of my best memories.
- 44:14Speaker 3: It's just a random Tuesday night you come home and
- 44:17Speaker 3: there's a group of people that you never talked to
- 44:19Speaker 3: in the chapter room.
- 44:20Speaker 1: That those are good memories.
- 44:21Speaker 2: Really. Yeah, see I miss those little days like those
- 44:24Speaker 2: are the sides of Like somebody asked me the to day,
- 44:27Speaker 2: Oh it was here in the office. They're like, would
- 44:29Speaker 2: you go back for Wow? Was it like your master's
- 44:31Speaker 2: or something? I was like absolutely not, Like I didn't
- 44:34Speaker 2: like school.
- 44:34Speaker 1: I would time travel and go back as a.
- 44:36Speaker 2: Sophomore, live it one more time.
- 44:39Speaker 3: I would love to have one more night as a
- 44:40Speaker 3: college sophomore because I would get the kind of drunk
- 44:43Speaker 3: where you're not like even there, and I, to this day,
- 44:48Speaker 3: my body, I think, just rejects that kind of drunkenness
- 44:51Speaker 3: to where I throw up the second I get a
- 44:53Speaker 3: little too like tipsy whipsie.
- 44:55Speaker 2: See I fall asleep now immediately it's like I won't
- 44:57Speaker 2: even get that drunk, because it's like as soon as
- 44:58Speaker 2: I even start to get a little bit, I'm like, oh,
- 45:01Speaker 2: go to bed. I'm good. I can't stay out like
- 45:04Speaker 2: what we did back in the day. I don't know.
- 45:05Speaker 2: I have people in my life they'll stay up to
- 45:07Speaker 2: the sun's lifts now, but I'm like, I can't you
- 45:09Speaker 2: get me up past one? Like I think when we
- 45:12Speaker 2: went out with your mom, I was like, you are.
- 45:14Speaker 1: Out way longer than my mom and I were.
- 45:15Speaker 2: And I stayed till like two am okay, but that
- 45:18Speaker 2: was pushing it, I was like, But I was also
- 45:21Speaker 2: was I slightly sober? Slightly I only had a couple
- 45:24Speaker 2: of drinks with you all, okay, So I was pretty decent.
- 45:25Speaker 2: But if you got any more, I'd be like, all right,
- 45:27Speaker 2: no time, goodbye, I'm going to bed.
- 45:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:30Speaker 2: But all that to say, like as I was like
- 45:32Speaker 2: having a couple of drinks this past weekend, it's insane.
- 45:36Speaker 2: I had like three glasses of wine and I woke
- 45:37Speaker 2: up in the morning. I was like advil, advil. But also,
- 45:42Speaker 2: like I said, I think I'm allergic to wine all
- 45:44Speaker 2: of a sudden. You don't get that like I know
- 45:46Speaker 2: some people do that where they get like sidus, they
- 45:48Speaker 2: get congested. No, well that's the some of us that
- 45:50Speaker 2: are wine. I don't want to be.
- 45:53Speaker 3: You got to try the thing that gets the tannins
- 45:56Speaker 3: or the whatever it's called out.
- 45:58Speaker 2: I want to see it. I believe if that helps,
- 46:00Speaker 2: then I'm all in every now and then.
- 46:02Speaker 3: We'll come have a wine night with Scottie. August twenty first,
- 46:05Speaker 3: of the twenty fourth. This is me throwing in my
- 46:09Speaker 3: own ad. If you don't know, I'm throwing a Trampa
- 46:11Speaker 3: Bay getaway with the Garies.
- 46:13Speaker 1: I've gotten a couple of messages about like I want
- 46:16Speaker 1: to come, but I'm like a little bit old.
- 46:17Speaker 2: Girl, come come, Absolutely, this should be everybody's welcome.
- 46:20Speaker 3: Yeah, the trips that I throw, I feel like we
- 46:22Speaker 3: have a pretty diverse age range. Like when we went
- 46:24Speaker 3: to Columbia, I think like honestly half of the trip
- 46:28Speaker 3: was in their forties, but like fun forties.
- 46:30Speaker 1: Like, don't come in like knit. You know we're going out.
- 46:34Speaker 2: You're going out to good night. You better dance. We're
- 46:36Speaker 2: gonna dance, going to a pool party, you better dance.
- 46:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 46:39Speaker 3: So I'm throwing a girl's trip here in Tampa. Well, yes,
- 46:43Speaker 3: it's technically Saint Pete, but Tampa Bay. We're staying at
- 46:45Speaker 3: the Moxie. We're doing lots of fun Tampa events. Come
- 46:49Speaker 3: see some of the scenes of the crimes that we
- 46:51Speaker 3: talked about on this podcast.
- 46:52Speaker 2: Are you all going to get a boat day? Is
- 46:53Speaker 2: that we're doing a boat day. That's sick.
- 46:55Speaker 3: So we're doing a boat day on Saturday. We're doing
- 46:57Speaker 3: a workout class. We're doing a pool party at the Moxie.
- 47:00Speaker 3: Come hang out with Scott word that's a in Alexia.
- 47:03Speaker 2: Do a wine night too. I'll be in.
- 47:04Speaker 1: Lots of Oh you can come to dinner with us.
- 47:07Speaker 2: No, that should be for just the girls. Actually, unless
- 47:09Speaker 2: you're going to Olivia. I've never been to Olivera.
- 47:10Speaker 1: I love Olivia. Maybe potentially probably take them to Olivia.
- 47:13Speaker 1: Maybe Perry's porch.
- 47:14Speaker 2: See, I'd be down for that little wine on the porch.
- 47:16Speaker 1: We'll see.
- 47:17Speaker 3: I gotta see how many people are signed up first,
- 47:18Speaker 3: because if it's twelve, we might need to go to
- 47:20Speaker 3: the Sapphire private room with the Sapphire. But it's just like,
- 47:24Speaker 3: you know, maybe eight, Maybe we'll do Olivia. It's more
- 47:27Speaker 3: of a manageable size.
- 47:28Speaker 2: Where do people go to get on?
- 47:29Speaker 1: I am going to put the link in the episode description.
- 47:32Speaker 2: Okay, perfect.
- 47:32Speaker 1: If you have any questions, you can just dym me.
- 47:34Speaker 2: And also if you're there, leave a review. I'm liking
- 47:37Speaker 2: reading through these. Let me read through one more on
- 47:39Speaker 2: Apple because I was reading the Spotify ones.
- 47:41Speaker 1: But don't call me the curse. No, no, no, nice.
- 47:43Speaker 2: It was a good curse. No, I know that is
- 47:45Speaker 2: so funny. Though they're like, actually, maybe Abby, you're the curse.
- 47:48Speaker 2: I think women are just the curse because I'm not
- 47:50Speaker 2: the only person. I'm not the only person that is
- 47:53Speaker 2: happening to You can't find someone, then yeah, there's no
- 47:57Speaker 2: hope for the rest of us. It is honestly very
- 48:00Speaker 2: tough out here. But do you think is it making
- 48:02Speaker 2: you want to get back on the apps since you've
- 48:04Speaker 2: because you've been off now since you've kind of moved here.
- 48:06Speaker 1: I've thought about it.
- 48:07Speaker 3: But I feel like since I've gotten off the apps,
- 48:11Speaker 3: maybe I'm just paying more attention or I don't know,
- 48:13Speaker 3: if I just go outside more. But I feel like
- 48:15Speaker 3: I'm noticing more people I'm actually attracted to.
- 48:17Speaker 2: Oh, instead of just like settling for somebody's message.
- 48:20Speaker 3: Yeah, so I'm I'm gonna try and do a year. Wow,
- 48:25Speaker 3: I'm gonna try and make it till January.
- 48:27Speaker 2: I think that's a great goal.
- 48:28Speaker 3: I'm gonna try and have a dating app list twenty
- 48:30Speaker 3: twenty five.
- 48:31Speaker 2: But what about going to things that are specifically dating lean, I'm.
- 48:34Speaker 1: Not going to do that either.
- 48:35Speaker 3: Yeah you want to why because the guys I'm interested
- 48:37Speaker 3: in are not going to those?
- 48:39Speaker 2: Well, that's true, and I have noticed it's a lot
- 48:42Speaker 2: more women that go to those.
- 48:43Speaker 3: It's more women or there's like one really interesting guy
- 48:47Speaker 3: and I'm like, girls go after him, and I don't
- 48:48Speaker 3: want to be on an episode of the Bachelor.
- 48:50Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true. That makes it awkward because you guys
- 48:52Speaker 2: are all fighting through the one dude well, I think
- 48:54Speaker 2: that's I think I'm caught up on all those.
- 48:57Speaker 3: I mean it's set up. I need someone to be like,
- 48:59Speaker 3: you know what, Abby's hot.
- 49:01Speaker 2: I think we have somebody for you.
- 49:02Speaker 1: No, you don't.
- 49:03Speaker 2: I think I do.
- 49:03Speaker 1: You don't.
- 49:04Speaker 2: Well, I don't know them personally, but my girlfriend does.
- 49:08Speaker 2: We got you have faith. You set us up. It's
- 49:12Speaker 2: time for us to set you up.
- 49:13Speaker 1: Return the favor. Mofo. I'm you're you gonna show me
- 49:17Speaker 1: a photo.
- 49:18Speaker 2: I don't know who this person is. I just heard
- 49:20Speaker 2: of the name.
- 49:20Speaker 1: She's shown me a couple guys, so we'll see.
- 49:24Speaker 2: Okay, they'll be outside activity, we'll be outside Abby. What's
- 49:29Speaker 2: your social media? People can find you aty Abby Murphy
- 49:32Speaker 2: and then mine is that Scott Tavlin and again all
- 49:35Speaker 2: the stuff for beatbox and you need to bonarou if
- 49:38Speaker 2: you want to go through your friends. We'll get that
- 49:40Speaker 2: up on the website mymagic ninety four nine dot com.
- 49:43Speaker 2: We'll be back tomorrow
