- 0:38Speaker 1: of footing and now here's Jen.
- 0:41Speaker 3: Good afternoon, everybody, and welcome to this week's episode of
- 0:44Speaker 3: Katsup Pudding. And today I have a great guest. I
- 0:47Speaker 3: finally got to meet you in Parison. We've been friends
- 0:49Speaker 3: on social media for a while. I've been trying to
- 0:52Speaker 3: get him on the show because he's got a great story.
- 0:55Speaker 3: And it's mister Vinnie Minitties. And the funny thing is
- 1:01Speaker 3: Vining from South Philly. That's what you are. That's how
- 1:03Speaker 3: I know.
- 1:03Speaker 4: You, right right, that's my my moniker. I love it great.
- 1:07Speaker 4: So it was yeah, I mean look, I've always admired
- 1:09Speaker 4: your work, and your podcast is tremendous show. It's an
- 1:12Speaker 4: honor to be here.
- 1:13Speaker 3: Oh well, well, I'm happy to have you. So I
- 1:15Speaker 3: you know, I saw I started when I started following
- 1:18Speaker 3: you on social media. I started to see like all
- 1:20Speaker 3: your accolades, and you also do a podcast too, right,
- 1:24Speaker 3: and also you are a director and an actor too,
- 1:28Speaker 3: So tell us about like how this world started feel,
- 1:31Speaker 3: especially the podcast I like to hear about.
- 1:32Speaker 4: Sure, So, probably like three years ago, I started realizing
- 1:35Speaker 4: that social media was becoming like a really viable way
- 1:38Speaker 4: to kind of connect with people. And I am I'm
- 1:40Speaker 4: a people person, so I like, you know, engaging and
- 1:44Speaker 4: and and supporting a network and it. So it came
- 1:46Speaker 4: pretty natural. So I decided to jump in there and
- 1:48Speaker 4: just play around with it and some some goofy stuff,
- 1:52Speaker 4: and then I was just started adding people and it
- 1:53Speaker 4: started connecting with a lot of different people, and I
- 1:56Speaker 4: started to grow a little bit of a following. Said
- 1:57Speaker 4: decided to do a podcast because I felt like I
- 1:59Speaker 4: want I just enjoyed the process. I enjoyed hearing people's stories.
- 2:02Speaker 4: I liked the film business. There was a lot of
- 2:04Speaker 4: reasons why I wanted to do it and just for fun.
- 2:07Speaker 4: I didn't have any intention of monetizing anything like that.
- 2:10Speaker 4: So I started something it was doing. It went through
- 2:12Speaker 4: a couple of different variations, but it ultimately became inside
- 2:15Speaker 4: Hollywood with Vinnie and I've introduced I've interviewed some really
- 2:18Speaker 4: really nice people, you know, people from just the local
- 2:22Speaker 4: guys that are filmmakers and actors up to Antonio Sibato
- 2:26Speaker 4: Junior and Joe Cortesi. And actually it was one of
- 2:30Speaker 4: the last people to interview Michael Madsen, which was really
- 2:33Speaker 4: really it was really terrific.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Oh, I loved him. He was a good actor. He
- 2:38Speaker 3: was great. My highlights him and killed Bill.
- 2:41Speaker 4: He was He was just just a nice, nice guy
- 2:44Speaker 4: and we talked a lot off camera and he very
- 2:48Speaker 4: humble guy. I mean, he went through a lot of
- 2:52Speaker 4: different things that I don't think public really knows about.
- 2:54Speaker 4: So he really had a hard life. Tremendous actor. He
- 2:58Speaker 4: started out, he told me, he started out in a
- 2:59Speaker 4: guess in Hollywood, and one thing led to another and
- 3:03Speaker 4: then it became you know, it became a star. But
- 3:05Speaker 4: really really great guy. Sad that he's going, but I
- 3:07Speaker 4: had the honor of interview on him. So that was
- 3:09Speaker 4: that was pretty interesting. In fact, I was really trying
- 3:11Speaker 4: to cockcoct the story for him, uh screenplay, because he
- 3:14Speaker 4: was always telling me how I'm tired of playing heavies.
- 3:16Speaker 4: I'm always tired of being a bad guy. So yeah,
- 3:18Speaker 4: he was, you know, like he's like, write something for me.
- 3:20Speaker 4: It's like a comedy. I want to I want to
- 3:22Speaker 4: show a different side of me. But unfortunately never happened.
- 3:25Speaker 3: So, yeah, he's been gone a little while, right.
- 3:27Speaker 4: Yeah, it's I think about a year and a half
- 3:29Speaker 4: a Yeah, well, yeah, he was.
- 3:31Speaker 3: I liked his work. He was he was a great actor.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Who's your favorite actor?
- 3:36Speaker 4: Oh, I don't know. I mean that's that's a tough
- 3:38Speaker 4: that's a tough call. I mean there's just like what's
- 3:40Speaker 4: my favoritechiest day? Because I know you're gonna get that
- 3:42Speaker 4: at some point. There's too many. There's too many to say.
- 3:45Speaker 4: But uh no, different styles. I mean I always did
- 3:48Speaker 4: like Brando. Some people love him or don't like him,
- 3:50Speaker 4: but I did. I really liked brandow style, the way
- 3:53Speaker 4: he kind of really engaged with just trying to search
- 3:56Speaker 4: for the character, not so much what's on the written page. Yeah,
- 3:59Speaker 4: so I like I liked I like his style. I mean,
- 4:02Speaker 4: I think that most great actors really are the ones
- 4:05Speaker 4: that draw from their own personal experiences and that have
- 4:08Speaker 4: gone through a lot like Mattson and so when you've
- 4:11Speaker 4: gone through a lot of things in life, a lot
- 4:13Speaker 4: of experiences, I think that Dad creates the best actor.
- 4:15Speaker 3: Yeah, I think so too. I mean you could really
- 4:18Speaker 3: see it come through on the screen when when they
- 4:21Speaker 3: when they when they take it? Do you do you
- 4:25Speaker 3: like to act to you do act right as well?
- 4:27Speaker 4: So I play around with that by no means I
- 4:29Speaker 4: want to disrespect the craft by saying I'm an actor,
- 4:32Speaker 4: because actors truly are, you know, I give them a
- 4:34Speaker 4: lot of credit. They're underappreciated, overworked. So I have a
- 4:37Speaker 4: tremendous amount of respect factors. I like to write. That's
- 4:41Speaker 4: my first I would say my first passion is I
- 4:44Speaker 4: like to write, and I also I like to produce,
- 4:47Speaker 4: and then to a lesser degree, direct and act. And
- 4:50Speaker 4: you wrote a movie, I did so we My first
- 4:53Speaker 4: movie is called Washington Avenue, which was just something that
- 4:56Speaker 4: I just wanted to get out, you know, it was
- 4:58Speaker 4: something there was cathartic for me. I did it in
- 5:01Speaker 4: my neighborhod I grew up in in Ninth Street, the
- 5:03Speaker 4: Time Market area in South Philly. My parents from Collabria.
- 5:07Speaker 4: They came over in sixty six, so you know, it's
- 5:09Speaker 4: born and raised that area. So you know, it opens
- 5:11Speaker 4: up with a shot at the parish where I got baptized,
- 5:14Speaker 4: in a neighborhood at the time Market. But it's a
- 5:15Speaker 4: great little story. It's a drama, and it won so
- 5:19Speaker 4: far as one nine first place awards in different film
- 5:21Speaker 4: festivals from like La and your Italy, Greece. It's pretty cool.
- 5:26Speaker 4: So I'm very amazed, honored, and I appreciate it amazing.
- 5:29Speaker 4: That's the cast and crew who I owe it to
- 5:31Speaker 4: because they did a lot of great things and I
- 5:34Speaker 4: like the story. We have a mob comedy coming out
- 5:37Speaker 4: call the postin Cheech Crew, based on some silly little
- 5:41Speaker 4: gags that we started out doing online and it turned
- 5:44Speaker 4: to I wrote the screenplay for them and that turned
- 5:45Speaker 4: into a short movie. And then I'm also working on
- 5:49Speaker 4: a TV series pilot or streaming series. We haven't signed
- 5:52Speaker 4: yet with Joe Cortez, you had mentioned earlier. We're partners
- 5:56Speaker 4: on that and that's going to be a crime drama.
- 5:58Speaker 4: I can't give too much away, but I think it'll
- 6:00Speaker 4: be very a very good story.
- 6:02Speaker 3: That's amazing. How do you have to How do you
- 6:04Speaker 3: have this while you do all days?
- 6:06Speaker 1: Right?
- 6:06Speaker 4: I mean, do you have a I wish it was.
- 6:08Speaker 3: Do you have a You have a real job during
- 6:10Speaker 3: the day. That's not a real job to write. I
- 6:12Speaker 3: shouldn't say that because that's creative. But to you what
- 6:15Speaker 3: your roh? Because I know, I mean unless you are
- 6:17Speaker 3: doing big bunch of movies that you know, these other
- 6:20Speaker 3: movies don't pay a lot, you.
- 6:22Speaker 4: Know, So now we have Yeah, I still have the
- 6:23Speaker 4: regular nine to five, and I'm in law enforcement, not
- 6:26Speaker 4: a cop, but I do something a little bit different.
- 6:28Speaker 4: I got to keep it quiet, all right, all right, Jim,
- 6:30Speaker 4: I'm no right over here, all right, let's snitching. I
- 6:33Speaker 4: can't tell you, but no, of course, yeah, family, three kids,
- 6:36Speaker 4: so I got a lot on my plate. But I
- 6:37Speaker 4: still somehow find time to do podcasts and you know,
- 6:40Speaker 4: and right, and uh, you know, I think a lot
- 6:42Speaker 4: of people you have to kind of you gotta keep working.
- 6:44Speaker 4: You got to keep manage your life, your life, and
- 6:46Speaker 4: then hopefully, you know, something creative might pop.
- 6:49Speaker 3: I mean I started now and later on in my
- 6:53Speaker 3: life that you know, I was always interested in production
- 6:56Speaker 3: and you know, films, and you know, if I didn't
- 6:59Speaker 3: go to medical school, probably would have went to film school.
- 7:01Speaker 3: But the thing was is, you know, when you're younger
- 7:03Speaker 3: and your parents so you know, it's Italian and they
- 7:06Speaker 3: want you to know, you got to go to college, college, college,
- 7:08Speaker 3: you got to be doctor, doctor, doctor, going to be this,
- 7:10Speaker 3: you got to do something something different.
- 7:12Speaker 2: You know.
- 7:13Speaker 3: My my parent, my father never wanted us to have
- 7:15Speaker 3: to work with his hands the way he did. So
- 7:17Speaker 3: he always wanted us to make sure that we were
- 7:19Speaker 3: all in college and we all graduated and we're professionals.
- 7:22Speaker 3: So but if I could have changed it, I would
- 7:26Speaker 3: have been I would have went to film school, you know,
- 7:28Speaker 3: That's what I would have liked to do. So I
- 7:31Speaker 3: have that passion and you know, and I like to
- 7:33Speaker 3: and acting too, which is you know, now it's like
- 7:36Speaker 3: my second I go call it down my second life career.
- 7:39Speaker 3: So hopefully when I, you know, get out of my business,
- 7:41Speaker 3: which is which I love, I can't say I know,
- 7:43Speaker 3: and I don't want to say. I'm very lucky. I
- 7:44Speaker 3: have a very successful business, you know, and I have
- 7:47Speaker 3: time I can really focus on that too, So I
- 7:51Speaker 3: share your you know, your passion for that.
- 7:54Speaker 4: So I think it goes back to you know, generational
- 7:58Speaker 4: things too, because that was the same way my parents,
- 8:00Speaker 4: you know, get a good you know, city job, good
- 8:03Speaker 4: you know, and that's and that is perfectly fine, that's
- 8:06Speaker 4: a good thing. But then you start to realize, as
- 8:08Speaker 4: you get older than nine to five kind of grind
- 8:11Speaker 4: is going to keep you sort of like on a
- 8:12Speaker 4: hamster wheel. You're only going to get by, and you're
- 8:14Speaker 4: only gonna you might enjoy a weekend or two in
- 8:17Speaker 4: a small vacation, but you're never really going to get
- 8:18Speaker 4: off that hamster wheel of just continuously working and never
- 8:22Speaker 4: really getting ahead or or you know, you have to
- 8:24Speaker 4: really do something outside of the Especially now, things are
- 8:26Speaker 4: way different as you you know, as you know, you know,
- 8:28Speaker 4: it's not like years ago before you know, you know,
- 8:30Speaker 4: you pay off your more good, you're good, you know, yeah,
- 8:32Speaker 4: you can live comfortably.
- 8:33Speaker 3: Now it's you can't.
- 8:34Speaker 4: You can't. Like everybody's working, you know, and nobody could
- 8:37Speaker 4: stay home.
- 8:37Speaker 3: Nobody can stay home, you know.
- 8:39Speaker 4: And everybody's trying to figure out what they should should
- 8:41Speaker 4: I have a kid not? It's really it's really horrible things,
- 8:44Speaker 4: and they just get more expensive, tremendously more, I mean,
- 8:47Speaker 4: way more expensive than they've ever been. So but there's
- 8:51Speaker 4: also that passion that you don't want to give up
- 8:52Speaker 4: because there's always something inside that wants to come out,
- 8:54Speaker 4: you know, whether it's you know, whether it's doing a podcast,
- 8:56Speaker 4: whether it's doing a movie, whether it's being an actress,
- 8:59Speaker 4: and you have to you can't let that just kind
- 9:01Speaker 4: of simmer and so out. You have to do something.
- 9:04Speaker 3: You have to have an outlet. I think anybody who's
- 9:06Speaker 3: autistic has to have some kind of outlet to let
- 9:08Speaker 3: it out because otherwise you feel stifled and you feel
- 9:12Speaker 3: I mean, I know me, I feel like very stifled
- 9:16Speaker 3: if I don't let my creativity out or what I'm
- 9:21Speaker 3: feeling out, like I just it's either writing something, doing
- 9:24Speaker 3: my podcast. You know, I'm also writing something too at
- 9:28Speaker 3: this point. But it's but it's hard when you are
- 9:30Speaker 3: working and running a business to be able to do that,
- 9:33Speaker 3: and it's like you want to sit back and have
- 9:35Speaker 3: that time so you can think and think on a
- 9:38Speaker 3: different level or you're not just grinding. But unfortunately, I mean,
- 9:42Speaker 3: I'm sure Philadelphia is the same way you know when
- 9:45Speaker 3: you live in New York City or a big city,
- 9:46Speaker 3: like everything is so fast and everybody's working, and people
- 9:50Speaker 3: work so much, so many hours in a day, like
- 9:53Speaker 3: when you have time to sit down and really create
- 9:55Speaker 3: and think about it, you know. I mean, so I'm
- 9:57Speaker 3: sure you go through that too, that you have to
- 9:59Speaker 3: get that time to put aside to do that.
- 10:02Speaker 4: Absolutely, And Philly is is a lot like New York
- 10:05Speaker 4: in the sense of, like I would say, the communities,
- 10:07Speaker 4: the way people are tightly knit, like argument the way
- 10:10Speaker 4: we were raised or I'm sure very similar. Uh It's
- 10:13Speaker 4: it's not as fast paced, definitely not. Man, it's there's
- 10:15Speaker 4: a lot of there's a lot of action, especially in
- 10:17Speaker 4: the city here, but it's maybe it's maybe it's like
- 10:19Speaker 4: you know, like Brooklyn or something. It's a little bit
- 10:21Speaker 4: more kind of laid back. But Philly is a great town.
- 10:25Speaker 4: I'd like it cause like everybody really is. There's a
- 10:28Speaker 4: communal sense. Everybody does stick up for each other and
- 10:31Speaker 4: tries to protect each other in the community, especially the
- 10:33Speaker 4: tiny American community, Like there is a good like good
- 10:35Speaker 4: sense of of belonging and sentiment. And I love New York.
- 10:39Speaker 4: I come up here every every time. Every chance I get,
- 10:41Speaker 4: I'm always up here, you know. I'll go to Santa Rosalia,
- 10:43Speaker 4: I'll go to all the different feasts and pig out
- 10:46Speaker 4: and have a good time and go to a TV
- 10:48Speaker 4: and go.
- 10:51Speaker 3: Contest. Last year, were you there?
- 10:53Speaker 4: I was there two years ago. The contest. It was
- 10:56Speaker 4: I think the first time they had it, and uh,
- 10:58Speaker 4: like a dombin din't realized I had to, like I
- 11:00Speaker 4: didn't have to finish the whole thing because there's all
- 11:02Speaker 4: the guys next to me just spinning it out, and
- 11:03Speaker 4: I'm overeating the whole thing, you know, And I lost.
- 11:05Speaker 4: But that's okay.
- 11:06Speaker 1: No, I was hard.
- 11:07Speaker 3: I was like this. I was just taking bites and
- 11:09Speaker 3: it was so funny because I brought Catherine no Ducci
- 11:12Speaker 3: with me and she's like, j don't you dare shovel
- 11:15Speaker 3: that in your face like that? I'm like, you think
- 11:17Speaker 3: I'm shoveling these canolis in my face like this? And
- 11:20Speaker 3: these girls and I'm gonna I'm just biting it, trying
- 11:22Speaker 3: to be cute taking pictures and the girls next to me,
- 11:25Speaker 3: the cream is coming out of their nose salt water.
- 11:29Speaker 3: I'm like, I'm gonna if I watch these girls I'm
- 11:31Speaker 3: gonna puke. I'm just gonna puke on them just watching
- 11:33Speaker 3: what they're doing. So I was not winning. I didn't
- 11:36Speaker 3: care about winning. I just went up there just just
- 11:39Speaker 3: to support Vilaponte. That was it. Who has the best
- 11:42Speaker 3: Canolis guys by the way, Villabonte, shout out to you guys,
- 11:45Speaker 3: Eighteenth Avenue, Brooklyn.
- 11:48Speaker 4: That's always a fun time though, Brooklyn and I come
- 11:52Speaker 4: up here, I come up to Lily.
- 11:53Speaker 3: You know, wherever you're gonna come to the you're gonna
- 11:55Speaker 3: come to San Genia this hip.
- 11:56Speaker 4: Absolutely yeah, absolutely, So.
- 11:58Speaker 3: I'm a big part of gonna be big pot of
- 11:59Speaker 3: San Enganier this year, which I'm Yeah. So the the
- 12:04Speaker 3: guys that are in charge of the feast and work
- 12:06Speaker 3: with the Trust are in charge. They started their podcast
- 12:08Speaker 3: on my podcast and now they're doing us the feast
- 12:12Speaker 3: of you know, the San Gennaro talk and stand Genaro
- 12:15Speaker 3: it's guilt. So yeah, so I'm happy. So now I'm like,
- 12:19Speaker 3: I'm gonna be a part of a big part of
- 12:20Speaker 3: the feast this year, which I'm excited about that, you know,
- 12:23Speaker 3: and I feel like so many Italian Americans, it's like,
- 12:26Speaker 3: I don't know, I know, maybe it's just maybe just
- 12:29Speaker 3: it's the generation. But I feel like we got to
- 12:31Speaker 3: kind of reel it back in now because I feel like,
- 12:34Speaker 3: do you find this too, Like you feel like a
- 12:36Speaker 3: lot of Italian mements don't stick together, especially the ones
- 12:38Speaker 3: on social media.
- 12:40Speaker 4: That's two different stories here, because I think you're right,
- 12:43Speaker 4: uh well, you know, social media, sports, religion, all these
- 12:46Speaker 4: different things. It brings out something weird in people, like
- 12:50Speaker 4: their egos and their competitiveness and people think, like even
- 12:54Speaker 4: especially the movie industry, especially the movie because you start
- 12:57Speaker 4: to realize like they're always rooting you in like, oh,
- 13:00Speaker 4: you know, get ahead, just don't get ahead of me,
- 13:03Speaker 4: and people don't. There's something weird that goes on in
- 13:05Speaker 4: people's egos, you know, not everybody, No.
- 13:08Speaker 3: Not everybody.
- 13:08Speaker 4: Well, some people did get a little weird because if
- 13:10Speaker 4: they look at it as a reflection on what they're
- 13:11Speaker 4: not doing. So Jenner, Jen's doing great, hu, it means
- 13:15Speaker 4: I suck, I know, And then all of a suddenly
- 13:17Speaker 4: they don't like you because you're you're doing something that
- 13:20Speaker 4: you know, you're trying to get to the next level.
- 13:22Speaker 4: Social media is a weird place, but it's a good
- 13:23Speaker 4: place because I think without I mean there's a lot
- 13:25Speaker 4: of opportunity. It's amazing how you could put something together
- 13:29Speaker 4: like what we do here. I mean I do minds
- 13:31Speaker 4: well through my you know phone practically. Yeah, So it's
- 13:34Speaker 4: never been a better opportunity to really connect with people
- 13:37Speaker 4: and grow and put together events and whatever you gotta do.
- 13:40Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I get all my guests through social media.
- 13:43Speaker 3: If they know me, I know them, like that's how
- 13:46Speaker 3: they wind up on my podcast, you know, or I'm
- 13:49Speaker 3: you know me, you know, oh fashion way somebody introduces
- 13:51Speaker 3: you to somebody, you know, you get them on your podcast.
- 13:53Speaker 3: But but yeah, I mean I think social media media
- 13:57Speaker 3: is a blessing at a course, that's what I think
- 13:58Speaker 3: it is, like for business, Like it's great, Like I'm
- 14:01Speaker 3: a person who's been doing it more for my business
- 14:05Speaker 3: and it's it's important that you have to be out
- 14:06Speaker 3: there and you know relevant, you know, for business purposes.
- 14:11Speaker 3: But I, to me, I don't it's not my bread
- 14:14Speaker 3: and butter. So I don't take it as seriously as
- 14:17Speaker 3: everybody else does. And when I see what goes on
- 14:20Speaker 3: with some people where it's so like, dude, it is
- 14:23Speaker 3: not that serious, like seriously, guys, Like it is not
- 14:26Speaker 3: that serious, like you need to chill out like it's crazy,
- 14:29Speaker 3: you know, and maybe because that's not my bread and butter,
- 14:33Speaker 3: like you know, yeah, you know, cause we make can
- 14:36Speaker 3: I make a little money, yes, but not my like
- 14:39Speaker 3: I'm not living off of it, is basically what I'm saying. So,
- 14:42Speaker 3: but these are the ones I get little, people get
- 14:44Speaker 3: a little crazy, you know. I mean, I'm not on
- 14:48Speaker 3: the end of it, which is which I'm glad because
- 14:49Speaker 3: I guess I'm like more adjacent to them, you know
- 14:52Speaker 3: what I mean. So I'm not like a competition with
- 14:54Speaker 3: them because I'm not whatever. But I see what goes
- 14:57Speaker 3: on and it's like, oh my god, what are these
- 14:59Speaker 3: people doing? Acting crazy?
- 15:01Speaker 4: And I seen your you're real degreat I think they're
- 15:03Speaker 4: Historically you have to really awesome. Really I love it.
- 15:06Speaker 4: I love it, and you could tell like you're doing
- 15:09Speaker 4: it because you're having a good time with it. And
- 15:10Speaker 4: some people, yeah, some people are, you know it. It's difficult.
- 15:13Speaker 4: I think people get into like social media maybe improbably
- 15:17Speaker 4: and they think they're going to make money or whatever.
- 15:18Speaker 4: It's really not that easy. I think it's gotten harder.
- 15:19Speaker 4: I think over the years, like if I got started
- 15:22Speaker 4: three years ago. But if I got it started maybe
- 15:24Speaker 4: six years ago, I would have like, you know, five
- 15:26Speaker 4: hundred thousand followers. Because things have changed now everybody's trying
- 15:29Speaker 4: to do the same thing. I don't think the algorithm
- 15:31Speaker 4: necessarily is the same. No, it's different and it's harder,
- 15:34Speaker 4: and I think, and I'm probably gonna fend some of
- 15:35Speaker 4: the listeners here, but I think a lot of people
- 15:37Speaker 4: are buying their followers or have both them and now
- 15:39Speaker 4: that they can't do it anymore. And so I hate
- 15:42Speaker 4: to say it, but you start dropping off after a
- 15:44Speaker 4: while because and then people get tired of you after
- 15:47Speaker 4: a while.
- 15:47Speaker 3: It's the same to say, there's always somebody new that's
- 15:49Speaker 3: coming up. There's always going to be another U coming
- 15:51Speaker 3: up that does it bigger and better. And that's just
- 15:53Speaker 3: the way it is. That's just the lord of the land.
- 15:55Speaker 3: That's the circle of life, right, It's all like in Pride,
- 15:58Speaker 3: It's like the lion king. It's a circle life. It's
- 16:00Speaker 3: gonna happen. You're not going to always be the the
- 16:03Speaker 3: you know that the flavor of the month, every you know,
- 16:05Speaker 3: all the time, at some point somebody else is going
- 16:08Speaker 3: to come up, somebody younger, somebody different and then you
- 16:11Speaker 3: know just gonna have to you know, realize that that's
- 16:13Speaker 3: gonna happen. With social media, it's very people are very catty,
- 16:16Speaker 3: you know, and that they're very they're very fickle that
- 16:18Speaker 3: you know, they'll they'll like somebody one day and then
- 16:21Speaker 3: next day like, no, I like this one now, and
- 16:23Speaker 3: then forget about the other person. And that happens every day.
- 16:25Speaker 4: So you know, I guess it depends what you're after too.
- 16:28Speaker 4: So if you're after like if you want to do
- 16:30Speaker 4: something you want to be like somewhat of celebrity, or
- 16:33Speaker 4: if you want to do something and maybe you're trying
- 16:35Speaker 4: to promote your business, it all depends what you're after.
- 16:37Speaker 4: But I think you have to be careful because after
- 16:39Speaker 4: a while, if you don't do something with it, if
- 16:41Speaker 4: you're trying to if you just have fun, then have fun.
- 16:44Speaker 4: You're trying to do something with it, you kind of
- 16:45Speaker 4: have to be you have to be on your toos
- 16:46Speaker 4: because people's you know, people's opinions and their flavors change
- 16:50Speaker 4: very rapidly, and they just like the whole goombath. It's
- 16:55Speaker 4: tiring after what I see that no more, you know,
- 16:57Speaker 4: and I'm not saying like, you know, we will I
- 16:59Speaker 4: could sit here and so you know Italian old day
- 17:01Speaker 4: I speak fluently dire like to get tired of that stuff.
- 17:05Speaker 3: If I hear someone another podcast about truss and gravy,
- 17:08Speaker 3: I want to shoot myself in the head. Like guys,
- 17:11Speaker 3: can you pick them up? No, it's sauce, my god,
- 17:15Speaker 3: we're gonna stuff.
- 17:17Speaker 4: I know, I know, I know you call it torture you,
- 17:24Speaker 4: but but you're right.
- 17:25Speaker 3: I think that it's it's been, it's been done to
- 17:28Speaker 3: death now and it's like maybe it's on its death
- 17:31Speaker 3: rattle at this point. It is where people got to like,
- 17:33Speaker 3: you know, now we got to figure something else out.
- 17:35Speaker 4: Now you have to actually be creative.
- 17:37Speaker 3: Now you have to actually be creative exactly. Now you
- 17:39Speaker 3: really have to create.
- 17:40Speaker 4: I got to use your head and you know, figure
- 17:42Speaker 4: something out. And you know, but it's you know, it's
- 17:45Speaker 4: a lot of fun too, because you get to meet
- 17:46Speaker 4: a lot of people right out of you and we
- 17:48Speaker 4: get to you know, it makes the world a closer place.
- 17:52Speaker 3: And you know, and the the I think that the
- 17:54Speaker 3: social media, especially the Italian you know genre of us.
- 17:58Speaker 3: You know, we we all know each other. Everybody knows
- 18:01Speaker 3: one another. You know, even if they don't know you directly,
- 18:03Speaker 3: they know you through somebody else and they know of
- 18:05Speaker 3: you if like you know, like I never met you
- 18:08Speaker 3: until today, but we knew each other by following. But
- 18:12Speaker 3: we also know the same a lot of the same people.
- 18:15Speaker 3: So even though we didn't meet, it's like we are.
- 18:17Speaker 3: I feel like I met you because we know the
- 18:19Speaker 3: same people. So and I think that's it's just that's
- 18:22Speaker 3: just true in the Italian community anyway. I think that
- 18:24Speaker 3: we always wind up staying so close knit to each other.
- 18:28Speaker 3: But oh my god, they so competitive.
- 18:31Speaker 4: Jesus Christ, that's the well, yeah, we're jealous.
- 18:34Speaker 3: That's jealous.
- 18:35Speaker 4: Let's not use that word. But it's it's good though,
- 18:38Speaker 4: in a way, I think, because it is preserving the
- 18:40Speaker 4: Italian not just the Tian any culture. Yes, we're talking
- 18:43Speaker 4: about time because we're time, but especially you know, I
- 18:46Speaker 4: see it in our community because we are like a
- 18:48Speaker 4: lot of the time americanizations. You see them starting to
- 18:50Speaker 4: really come they're starting to come back, right.
- 18:52Speaker 3: You know, I grew up American civil rights. Leave everybody joined.
- 18:57Speaker 3: It's great committee, a great organization, and you know, so
- 19:00Speaker 3: that's that's good.
- 19:01Speaker 4: So you start to see those things starting to flourish again,
- 19:03Speaker 4: and people they miss the good old days. And you know,
- 19:06Speaker 4: neighborhood the way neighborhoods work, because it was you know,
- 19:08Speaker 4: in South Philly was a lot like how Brooken Walls
- 19:10Speaker 4: or any of these other neighborhoods where it was all
- 19:12Speaker 4: it was all Italians. Everybody looked out their windows screen
- 19:14Speaker 4: for the kids at five o'clock. It was all the same.
- 19:16Speaker 4: You know, we all grew up the same way. And
- 19:18Speaker 4: as you get older, you know, the younger generations kind
- 19:21Speaker 4: of realized there was something very special that they missed.
- 19:23Speaker 4: So they kind of want to know what that's about.
- 19:25Speaker 3: They want to tap back into that. You know, it's
- 19:28Speaker 3: and it's true, but that's nice that that I like
- 19:31Speaker 3: that part I like about it. That's what I do
- 19:33Speaker 3: like about it. But it's it does it does keep
- 19:37Speaker 3: it I think it does keep you connected. But again,
- 19:39Speaker 3: I think social media is a blessing and a curse.
- 19:41Speaker 3: It just depends on how it depends on how you
- 19:43Speaker 3: use it. That's let's put it that way, right. It's
- 19:46Speaker 3: it's it's a cautionary tail, right. It could be nice
- 19:49Speaker 3: or it could be like did you see what Jennifer
- 19:51Speaker 3: put out the other day. Can you believe this fucking
- 19:53Speaker 3: bitch put this shit out there? She wearing she's copying
- 19:57Speaker 3: my video, dude, Like, really, I'm copying you?
- 20:03Speaker 4: I really have to.
- 20:05Speaker 2: No.
- 20:05Speaker 3: I had a fight with somebody on TikTok because they
- 20:07Speaker 3: said I was complaining that I that I had harder
- 20:11Speaker 3: because I was a generation that they and they went
- 20:14Speaker 3: at me and the best was they attacked the way
- 20:18Speaker 3: I look, like like why do you have to go
- 20:22Speaker 3: down that look like that? Well, like, what's the point
- 20:24Speaker 3: of my you have to attack my looks, on my
- 20:26Speaker 3: age or whatever it is? Like yeah, like then I
- 20:29Speaker 3: then I had to get nasty and be like I
- 20:31Speaker 3: called them those sister ugly or whatever it was. But
- 20:33Speaker 3: it was funny. But you know, you don't want to
- 20:36Speaker 3: get that way with people. But it's like, why do
- 20:38Speaker 3: you have to get that If you don't like what
- 20:40Speaker 3: I'm saying, all you have to do is delete me
- 20:42Speaker 3: or block me. Why do you have to come at me?
- 20:44Speaker 3: Like I'm not going to spend my day Like if
- 20:46Speaker 3: I don't like what somebody says, you know what I do,
- 20:47Speaker 3: I flip it, I don't watch it. I turned the channel,
- 20:51Speaker 3: you know, I don't have to sit there. If I
- 20:53Speaker 3: got out of grenadio over everything I saw on social media,
- 20:55Speaker 3: I'd probably be in in a freaking a sylum if
- 21:00Speaker 3: if I got that invested over what people said on
- 21:02Speaker 3: social media. But yeah, you've never had that happen to
- 21:05Speaker 3: you on social media. People attack you for something just
- 21:08Speaker 3: you know.
- 21:08Speaker 4: I usually turn into a Joe a couple of times here.
- 21:10Speaker 4: Not nothing serious, I really, I usually just kind of
- 21:13Speaker 4: stay new because I don't engage with a lot of
- 21:15Speaker 4: stupid nonsense. It's it's a controversial. I don't talk pulic.
- 21:18Speaker 4: They don't get to like the most controversial thing might
- 21:20Speaker 4: be soulcal gravy, that's the most but that is con
- 21:24Speaker 4: that that's serious stuff.
- 21:27Speaker 3: I guess serious stuff then that's very serious. Well, you
- 21:30Speaker 3: know what isn't me because I'm in the beauty business,
- 21:32Speaker 3: so it's you know, that's it's a very screwed up business.
- 21:36Speaker 3: I mean, you know it. I have women who come in,
- 21:38Speaker 3: of young girls who come in and they really have
- 21:42Speaker 3: these body dysmophic issues. They'll come in and they'll show
- 21:45Speaker 3: me I want to look like her, and they'll show
- 21:46Speaker 3: me this picture of this. I'm like that's a filter,
- 21:50Speaker 3: you're not she doesn't look like her, that this person
- 21:54Speaker 3: doesn't look like this is a filter. And these I
- 21:57Speaker 3: think that that business also creates a lot of you know,
- 22:02Speaker 3: self doubt and and and and it's it's negative. It's
- 22:05Speaker 3: a lot. It's negative a lot, and you know, it
- 22:06Speaker 3: really sucks. It's it. And I was talking about it
- 22:08Speaker 3: when my other gets still a call that you know
- 22:10Speaker 3: that women really suck. They don't stick together and they
- 22:14Speaker 3: go at each other and it's so awful, it really is.
- 22:17Speaker 3: And it's like the first thing that people will say
- 22:20Speaker 3: is they'll say something about what you look like or
- 22:23Speaker 3: how old you are. You know, yeah, there's of course,
- 22:25Speaker 3: and of course that's something that's gonna hurt a woman's
- 22:28Speaker 3: feelings because you know, we all want to look good
- 22:30Speaker 3: and we all want to be young and feel young
- 22:32Speaker 3: or whatever. But it's like, it's it's awful how people
- 22:36Speaker 3: go at people like that. It's like terrible. Like if
- 22:38Speaker 3: you don't like what I'm doing, I'm like, I'm not
- 22:39Speaker 3: telling you to do botox. If you don't want to
- 22:41Speaker 3: do it, don't fucking do it and just unfollow me.
- 22:44Speaker 3: I don't know what to tell you. I'm not telling you,
- 22:47Speaker 3: forcing you to do something, but it's just how vicious
- 22:50Speaker 3: how people can get on social media.
- 22:51Speaker 4: It's crazy they and they cut deep too, because those
- 22:54Speaker 4: are things that cut deep. And for me, I've gone
- 22:57Speaker 4: to point my left where I realized there isn't There
- 22:58Speaker 4: really isn't such things as unity. They really is not.
- 23:01Speaker 4: You can forget it. They are, you know, women sticking together,
- 23:03Speaker 4: guys sticking to that stuff. You know, while you're black,
- 23:06Speaker 4: it's doesn't exist. People are individualistic and you have to
- 23:09Speaker 4: as soon as you get to realize that people really
- 23:11Speaker 4: are not it's a generality. But people are selfish. The
- 23:15Speaker 4: people are looking for the self, their self preservation. They're
- 23:18Speaker 4: looking to succeed. They're looking just the whole thing, the whole,
- 23:21Speaker 4: the whole mentality behind Like I gave up on that mentality,
- 23:23Speaker 4: like you know, because there's always people back you to
- 23:26Speaker 4: a degree. They're not going to go over a cliff
- 23:27Speaker 4: with you. No, so, and then it kind of you, Yeah,
- 23:32Speaker 4: it's a fact in your imagination's unity thing. But yeah,
- 23:36Speaker 4: your family, you have you, if you have anybody else.
- 23:39Speaker 4: In addition to that, you're very.
- 23:40Speaker 3: Lucky, that's very true. And you and you have three children. Yes,
- 23:44Speaker 3: so I have three kids, boys girls.
- 23:46Speaker 4: Two girls and a boy. So the two girls the oldest,
- 23:49Speaker 4: you know, and I try to keep you the same.
- 23:51Speaker 4: So I sort of like telling them to stick together,
- 23:55Speaker 4: be be kind. You try to raise them with the
- 23:58Speaker 4: the fatality of being good to people. Don't make fun
- 24:01Speaker 4: of anyone, don't joke, don't even joke around like that,
- 24:03Speaker 4: because that leads to, like, you know, I think they
- 24:05Speaker 4: they're very sensible and very you know, sensitive to other people.
- 24:09Speaker 4: And then like we will do as long as we
- 24:11Speaker 4: will do our job, all for your next generation, they
- 24:14Speaker 4: grow with a little bit more, you know, Like we're
- 24:16Speaker 4: just talking about about being conded each other, not being
- 24:18Speaker 4: so you know, abrasive attacking people and hurting people's feelings.
- 24:22Speaker 3: I mean, at the end of the day, it's who
- 24:24Speaker 3: does it hard? I mean, are you getting anything out
- 24:27Speaker 3: of hurting somebody? Like it's just makes you ugly, you know,
- 24:30Speaker 3: And you have to kind of look at those people.
- 24:31Speaker 3: I mean I used to get so upset, like I
- 24:34Speaker 3: got a big YELP review on something for my business.
- 24:36Speaker 3: I would take that such hot and now and then
- 24:39Speaker 3: I look at these people and I'm like, and then
- 24:40Speaker 3: you look at what they write on other and then
- 24:43Speaker 3: there's no good reviews for anybody. I'm like, then this
- 24:45Speaker 3: person is just miserable and they just want to mess
- 24:49Speaker 3: with people's lives and livelihoods, and you have to kind
- 24:52Speaker 3: of feel sorry for them. So now if I look
- 24:54Speaker 3: at that person making that review, I don't believe what
- 24:55Speaker 3: they say because obviously they don't like anything. So now
- 24:59Speaker 3: I'm like, I can't get a said anyone when I
- 25:00Speaker 3: get that if somebody, if somebody is just miserable. Another
- 25:03Speaker 3: thing I was going to do was gonna make them
- 25:05Speaker 3: happy that day. Nothing I could have done. I could
- 25:07Speaker 3: have gave them the world. I could have made them
- 25:10Speaker 3: look they were ninety five, and I made them look
- 25:11Speaker 3: twenty five, and they still weren't gonna be happy because
- 25:14Speaker 3: I didn't make them look twenty four, you know, So
- 25:16Speaker 3: it doesn't it doesn't matter. So I used to I
- 25:19Speaker 3: used to get very upset about that, but now I'm
- 25:21Speaker 3: just like, you know what, I got to feel bad
- 25:23Speaker 3: for that person because they're obviously they obviously need to
- 25:26Speaker 3: say this more than I need them me to get
- 25:28Speaker 3: upset about it, you know.
- 25:30Speaker 4: And they're either under or overly medicaid. It's one or
- 25:34Speaker 4: the other.
- 25:35Speaker 3: There's a lot of mental health issues these days.
- 25:37Speaker 4: Everybody's crazy. They are that shit people watch it right now,
- 25:40Speaker 4: you're crazy too.
- 25:41Speaker 3: That shit crazy, that shit crazy. We just knew how
- 25:44Speaker 3: to hide it better.
- 25:45Speaker 4: Right, Yeah, exactly. They don't talk about it.
- 25:48Speaker 3: We're not less except when we you know, with us.
- 25:53Speaker 3: But you know what is I think we're the most
- 25:55Speaker 3: well adjusted people the times because we talk and scream
- 25:58Speaker 3: all the time. Like and I it's like my friend,
- 26:02Speaker 3: my friend's daughter comes up from Pennsylvania and they're from
- 26:05Speaker 3: the South, originally from Georgia, but they live in Pennsylvania,
- 26:09Speaker 3: and we're all around my kitchen and we with my
- 26:11Speaker 3: girls and everybody talking, and we'll talking loud and she
- 26:15Speaker 3: turns about to mother, she's why are they yelling at?
- 26:20Speaker 3: And I just found it so funny. I'm like, no, honey,
- 26:23Speaker 3: that's just the way we talk. I said, we just
- 26:25Speaker 3: talked very loud about So I feel like because we're
- 26:28Speaker 3: so boisterous that like I let my feelings out. So
- 26:32Speaker 3: I'm a wall justin Parson because I get my feelings
- 26:35Speaker 3: out all the time, Like when.
- 26:37Speaker 4: We have people over like that that aren't used to it.
- 26:39Speaker 4: All right, let's all right, let's behave we have normal people.
- 26:40Speaker 3: Coming, but let's be honest, we can't behave anyway. Rights.
- 26:46Speaker 3: It might be for like ten minutes, and then it's
- 26:48Speaker 3: also out the windoway after that.
- 26:50Speaker 4: Right, But you know, getting back to you know, those
- 26:53Speaker 4: experiences growing up, I think that's also another like benefit,
- 26:57Speaker 4: going back to like the screenwriting, and like I drew
- 26:59Speaker 4: a lot of stuff from that, from the way we
- 27:01Speaker 4: grew up in different scenario like in other words, and
- 27:03Speaker 4: actually gonna have had I guess George Gallo, a guy
- 27:05Speaker 4: who wrote If you don't know who George Galla is,
- 27:07Speaker 4: he's the one who wrote Midnight Run, Wise Guys, Bid Boys,
- 27:11Speaker 4: Comeback Trail with de Niro and Morgan Freeman. And he's
- 27:15Speaker 4: from New York. I think he's west Chester. I'm not
- 27:18Speaker 4: sure exactly what, but he's a New Yorker And you know,
- 27:20Speaker 4: I had him on and we became friends, and he
- 27:22Speaker 4: was always like my idea, my screenwriting articles. I fell
- 27:24Speaker 4: in love with Wise Guys when I was little and
- 27:26Speaker 4: I never got.
- 27:27Speaker 1: Over that movie.
- 27:28Speaker 4: And I met Piscopa by the way, Yeah, I got
- 27:32Speaker 4: a self and I text him I was gonna be here,
- 27:34Speaker 4: but I don't know at least he's a busy guy.
- 27:36Speaker 4: But anyway, so I got to meet him and he also,
- 27:39Speaker 4: like Dad, was a big influence on a lot of
- 27:41Speaker 4: my screenwriting. And he's tart to realize a lot of
- 27:43Speaker 4: these people are just like us that grew up in
- 27:46Speaker 4: these neighborhoods, grow up the same way we did, and
- 27:48Speaker 4: they're able to really do a good job of working
- 27:51Speaker 4: hard and then pursuing their craft, whether it's screenwriting, producing,
- 27:55Speaker 4: whatever it is acting. And some of them do get
- 27:58Speaker 4: somewhere based on the fact that they just don't give
- 28:00Speaker 4: up and they work really hard. And yeah, sometimes you
- 28:04Speaker 4: need a little luck too.
- 28:05Speaker 3: You just I mean, what do you think it is?
- 28:07Speaker 3: What do you think the recipe is.
- 28:10Speaker 4: I think that you have to you have to be
- 28:13Speaker 4: a worker. You can't be lazy. You have to bring
- 28:16Speaker 4: That's another thing that I want to stress too, is
- 28:18Speaker 4: that I don't when I meet people that are really like, wow,
- 28:21Speaker 4: these people are very successful whatever, producers, whatever. I'm not
- 28:25Speaker 4: gonna sit there and say, hey, can you like look
- 28:26Speaker 4: at this thing I wrote, or do this or do that.
- 28:28Speaker 4: It's more like, how do I make this a win win?
- 28:31Speaker 4: So this way I got something for this person that
- 28:33Speaker 4: they're going to like that they could do something with
- 28:36Speaker 4: and then it benefits me too, because people are always
- 28:38Speaker 4: looking for something, and these people don't want to hear that.
- 28:41Speaker 4: They don't want to hear like I got this great
- 28:42Speaker 4: script before I got that. You got to really have
- 28:44Speaker 4: something serious, that that something to offer. Work hard. But yeah,
- 28:47Speaker 4: you do need a little luck. You have to have
- 28:48Speaker 4: a little bit of luck. Luck. I'm telling you. It's
- 28:51Speaker 4: just it's it's a weird thing. I don't know if
- 28:52Speaker 4: I have much. I try not to admit it to myself,
- 28:54Speaker 4: but luck does go a long way, you know. But
- 28:56Speaker 4: you have to be able to like identify situations, like
- 29:00Speaker 4: if you see an opportunity, you have to you have
- 29:03Speaker 4: to go for it. You can't just wait for something
- 29:06Speaker 4: else to happen or just like I'm not ready. You
- 29:09Speaker 4: have to be able to identify an opportunity when it's
- 29:10Speaker 4: when it shows up and run with it. And I
- 29:15Speaker 4: interview another guy, Larry Namer, who's the guy started Entertainment
- 29:18Speaker 4: Network and you know he's he's the one who launched
- 29:20Speaker 4: Kardashians and launched Howard Stern's career and everything like that,
- 29:23Speaker 4: and a very humble guy, very laid back guy and
- 29:25Speaker 4: very kind. But again, these are people that what did
- 29:28Speaker 4: they do? They just he was one of the first
- 29:30Speaker 4: people that they didn't even have enough money to start network.
- 29:34Speaker 4: Somehow he started network, you know, with two million dollars.
- 29:36Speaker 4: It was crazy how he started that network, him and
- 29:38Speaker 4: his partner. And it's all the same. Whenever I told
- 29:42Speaker 4: these people, I'm sure the same thing with you. It's
- 29:45Speaker 4: they have this confidence about them. They will not give up,
- 29:48Speaker 4: they'll work hard, and they take advantage opportunities when they
- 29:51Speaker 4: show up.
- 29:53Speaker 3: I mean, that's uh, that's the only way that it's
- 29:56Speaker 3: going to happen you have. It's you and belief in
- 29:59Speaker 3: yourself too. You got to see yourself it happening for yourself,
- 30:02Speaker 3: you know. I mean with me, I know, I feel
- 30:04Speaker 3: like if I project something that if I want something
- 30:07Speaker 3: that I usually can manifest it. I'm manifesting is a
- 30:11Speaker 3: big thing too. You have to say to yourself, I'm
- 30:12Speaker 3: not that I'm gonna do it, that it's already happened.
- 30:15Speaker 3: That that's the way I always project things for myself
- 30:17Speaker 3: to to you know, if i want something and I've
- 30:21Speaker 3: always worked taught, and I'm sure you've always worked hard,
- 30:23Speaker 3: your whole life, no matter what you did. And I'm
- 30:24Speaker 3: sure you've even your nine to five job you do
- 30:27Speaker 3: with you know, with with you know, you're not doing
- 30:33Speaker 3: it just you know, mediocrely. You know you're you're doing
- 30:36Speaker 3: it with your full self and you're not you know,
- 30:38Speaker 3: you're not just you know, skirting along. So I think
- 30:41Speaker 3: you're the type of person.
- 30:42Speaker 2: I know.
- 30:43Speaker 3: I'm the type of person that would you know, when
- 30:46Speaker 3: I'm going to do something, I'm gonna do it or
- 30:47Speaker 3: one hundred percent. And I think that that's a big
- 30:49Speaker 3: deal too, right, I mean every day it's diligence every day.
- 30:54Speaker 4: Like my dad used to say, you know you do
- 30:56Speaker 4: it right, don't do it all.
- 30:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:58Speaker 4: I started out ten years old selling pretzels and you know,
- 31:00Speaker 4: and they tell your market and whatever. I just kept
- 31:03Speaker 4: working from then. So I've been working on you know,
- 31:04Speaker 4: over thirty five years now, and uh, you know it's
- 31:07Speaker 4: a good thing then, and you have to have that
- 31:09Speaker 4: work ethic. I can never understand people I just want
- 31:11Speaker 4: to stay home, not want to do anything, have people
- 31:15Speaker 4: do stuff for it. I mean, that's that's not a life.
- 31:17Speaker 4: That is such, that is a horrible existence. If you
- 31:20Speaker 4: don't realize that you. You have to get up and
- 31:24Speaker 4: do something, like you have a purpose. You have to
- 31:27Speaker 4: be productive. You can't just wait for for yourself, so
- 31:30Speaker 4: your soul you need to like you're you're this is
- 31:32Speaker 4: not why you're here. You gotta you gotta do something,
- 31:35Speaker 4: even if you're just growing in a garden outside, even
- 31:37Speaker 4: if you're just you know, you know you're doing you
- 31:40Speaker 4: get you have to do something for society at large,
- 31:42Speaker 4: for your family, for yourself, you know. So you know,
- 31:45Speaker 4: it's unfortunately a lot of people give up to you
- 31:46Speaker 4: know people, it's kind of it's hard. The strong survived.
- 31:50Speaker 4: That's a really true thing, is truly true survived. Because
- 31:52Speaker 4: if you're not strong, you're not a strong world you'll
- 31:54Speaker 4: you'll never make because it's it's rough out.
- 31:56Speaker 3: The world, oh it is, and people close themselves to
- 32:01Speaker 3: the top, and they'll they'll run you over, even the
- 32:05Speaker 3: people that you think wouldn't they'll run you right over
- 32:08Speaker 3: to get to get there before you.
- 32:10Speaker 4: My one friend told me, But it's just good. It
- 32:12Speaker 4: kind of made me feel better. It's like, you know,
- 32:14Speaker 4: be algate to the top, but I won't keep you there.
- 32:17Speaker 3: Well, my grandma, well she didn't say it this way,
- 32:20Speaker 3: but I'll interpret it the way she says, you can't.
- 32:22Speaker 3: You can only fucuate to the middle. You can't fuckuate
- 32:24Speaker 3: to the top. She didn't say it, she said it
- 32:26Speaker 3: more eloquently than I did. That's my interpretation of what
- 32:29Speaker 3: she's said, right, But it's true. So you know, it's
- 32:33Speaker 3: you gotta you know, you gotta make your bones. You
- 32:36Speaker 3: gotta go through the process. It's not it's not easy.
- 32:39Speaker 3: It's not. And all these people that are successful, they
- 32:41Speaker 3: went through a lot of ship to get there. They
- 32:44Speaker 3: went through I was watching this whole thing about how
- 32:46Speaker 3: the Jerry Springer show, what these people did on that show,
- 32:50Speaker 3: the craziness and how they got there, and you know what,
- 32:53Speaker 3: it's true, like if you're involved in it, like you're
- 32:55Speaker 3: gonna try to do anything to be you know, the
- 32:58Speaker 3: producers and how what they it was crazy. I'm like,
- 33:02Speaker 3: and you know what, what how far will you go
- 33:07Speaker 3: to make it to the top. That's the other thing too,
- 33:09Speaker 3: When does your when does your you know, do you say, yeah,
- 33:14Speaker 3: I'm not stepping over that line. That's not the line
- 33:16Speaker 3: I'm gonna go over. You know. That's and some people
- 33:20Speaker 3: have to go over that line to get there. So
- 33:22Speaker 3: would what line. How far would you.
- 33:24Speaker 4: Go me personally, I don't I don't think I would
- 33:27Speaker 4: go too far over the line, because I mean, you
- 33:29Speaker 4: know a lot of those people, and I know a
- 33:32Speaker 4: lot of a decent amount of people that kind of
- 33:33Speaker 4: just burnt out from Hollywood that got used in abused.
- 33:36Speaker 4: That's an ugly life. I think you can make it.
- 33:38Speaker 4: Like George Gallo is a perfect example. I mean, he
- 33:39Speaker 4: made he never got never hung out with those parties,
- 33:42Speaker 4: did this or that. He was always a family guy
- 33:45Speaker 4: that we had to do and he did very well.
- 33:46Speaker 4: And he's He's one of many. There's there's also a
- 33:48Speaker 4: segment of the creative population that doesn't engage with that
- 33:52Speaker 4: nonsense and they are successful. Gene Hackman was one of
- 33:56Speaker 4: those guys. Robert Duvall, those guys didn't associate with all
- 33:59Speaker 4: that crap.
- 33:59Speaker 3: Yeah, well Gibson neither.
- 34:01Speaker 4: Gibson perfect example.
- 34:03Speaker 3: Yeah, it's true.
- 34:04Speaker 4: We could listen. At the end of the day, you
- 34:06Speaker 4: take a shot.
- 34:07Speaker 3: Yeah. Well, I'm excited for your release of your movie.
- 34:12Speaker 3: When is it and and what'll well when it's when
- 34:15Speaker 3: is the release going to be?
- 34:16Speaker 4: So the premiere in Philly is going to be next
- 34:21Speaker 4: week May eighth, but it'll be it should be streaming.
- 34:26Speaker 4: We're getting it, you know through the QC quality control,
- 34:30Speaker 4: so it should be streams cool Washington Avenue. That'll be
- 34:32Speaker 4: released hopefully in the next few months.
- 34:34Speaker 3: Once it's uh and what will it be streaming on?
- 34:37Speaker 4: So right now we got through film helps of you know,
- 34:40Speaker 4: probably Amazon and all the normal places, you know, Prime
- 34:43Speaker 4: and so it'll it'll be streaming out there. We'll make
- 34:45Speaker 4: sure we uh we put We'll tag you when when
- 34:48Speaker 4: when it's.
- 34:49Speaker 3: Officially please you need to tag me. Are you're going
- 34:51Speaker 3: to have an official premiere?
- 34:53Speaker 4: Well, the Philly thing, we're going to put something together
- 34:56Speaker 4: for probably in South Philly. We have a couple of
- 34:58Speaker 4: venues we're going to do and we're a couple of
- 35:00Speaker 4: with two short films. This way, it's a nice kind
- 35:02Speaker 4: of experience.
- 35:02Speaker 3: Well, I better be invited. I want to come, absolutely,
- 35:06Speaker 3: I want to come and hang out in South Philly.
- 35:08Speaker 4: We have a good time, love it.
- 35:10Speaker 1: I have.
- 35:10Speaker 3: I have a lot of people friends that that are
- 35:13Speaker 3: from South Villy, but I've never been there. Isn't that funny.
- 35:16Speaker 4: A lot of people are moving over here now. A
- 35:17Speaker 4: friend of mine is just is in the course of
- 35:21Speaker 4: moving over to Bets and Hurst.
- 35:22Speaker 3: So we're going from South os so funny. Well good
- 35:25Speaker 3: at least that we'll get in some migration from Italian
