- 0:21Speaker 1: end zone our ten yard touchdown reception for Puppas and
- 0:25Speaker 1: the kid out of Washington State has found himself a
- 0:29Speaker 1: place on this team. Powered by Seahawks dot Com, whilst
- 0:34Speaker 1: up twelves. This is Hawk talg Preview edition, Week ten.
- 0:38Speaker 1: The Seahawks take on the Rams and they are looking
- 0:40Speaker 1: to bounce back. But like always, before we get into
- 0:43Speaker 1: the details of this thing, here's Nasa Chelby with the
- 0:46Speaker 1: injury updates. Thanks bump Well. At the moment, the running
- 0:48Speaker 1: backs and the defensive backs of the two position groups
- 0:51Speaker 1: have been really banged up for the Seahawks. During Pete
- 0:53Speaker 1: Carroll's weekly press conference, he gave us an update on
- 0:55Speaker 1: the status of cornerbacks to Kill Griffin and Quentin Dunbar.
- 0:59Speaker 1: The return for Shaquille now is about his hamstring and
- 1:02Speaker 1: getting it right. Um, he's running some. We'll see how,
- 1:05Speaker 1: you know, how he progresses through the week. If he
- 1:07Speaker 1: has a chance to get back, we won't know till
- 1:09Speaker 1: the end. Quinn's knees bothered him, you know, for some
- 1:11Speaker 1: time now, and bothered him last weekend for sure, and
- 1:15Speaker 1: so we'll have to tend to that. On the more
- 1:18Speaker 1: positive side, Google Amadi looks like he'll be making his
- 1:20Speaker 1: return this week. He's practicing today. He'll go full go
- 1:24Speaker 1: today thanxious to see how he you know, he can
- 1:26Speaker 1: handle it throughout the week, but looking forward to him playing. Lastly,
- 1:29Speaker 1: we've gotten update on Chris Carson and Carlos Hide, who
- 1:31Speaker 1: have missed the last couple of weeks with foot and
- 1:33Speaker 1: ankle injuries. Chris is running more so than Carlos is
- 1:36Speaker 1: able to at this time. Christ the head of Carlos
- 1:38Speaker 1: coming back. He's gonna run today and tomorrow. We'll see
- 1:42Speaker 1: how that how he handles that. I can't tell you
- 1:45Speaker 1: anything more than that right now, all right, bumping before
- 1:47Speaker 1: we get going, make sure to join us each and
- 1:49Speaker 1: every Thursday from noon to two for the Huddle, hosted
- 1:51Speaker 1: by Tom Jake and Stacy along with Seahawks cover analyist
- 1:54Speaker 1: Dave Wyman. It's through a chance to hear directly from
- 1:56Speaker 1: the Seahawks players as they prepare for Sunday and preview
- 1:58Speaker 1: the game ahead with a voice to the Seahawks Steve
- 2:00Speaker 1: Rabel and our guy Ray Roberts And like you mentioned, Bump,
- 2:03Speaker 1: it's another NFC West showdown, the Seahawks taken on the
- 2:06Speaker 1: Los Angeles Rams. Who's next? Who's next? Who's next? The
- 2:17Speaker 1: Los Angeles Rams are next. They are five and three,
- 2:20Speaker 1: third place in the NFC West. Don't let this five
- 2:22Speaker 1: and three record fool you. You look at their their
- 2:26Speaker 1: wins and losses, it's kind of it's kind of confusing,
- 2:28Speaker 1: right they they've beaten Dallas garbage, Eagles garbage, New York garbage,
- 2:33Speaker 1: the Washington football team garbage, Chicago Bears. How you respect it? Okay?
- 2:36Speaker 1: But then they've lost to the Bills. Who you twelve?
- 2:40Speaker 1: Is better? Respect the Bills at this point? The forty
- 2:42Speaker 1: nine ers, But the forty nine ers were healthy when
- 2:44Speaker 1: they lost to them. And then the rising Miami Dolphins.
- 2:47Speaker 1: I feel like they have quality losses, but I'm not
- 2:51Speaker 1: sure about their wins. But you look at their stats,
- 2:53Speaker 1: you start to look at the stats in the film
- 2:55Speaker 1: and you start to respect this team. Oh, no question
- 2:57Speaker 1: about it. A couple of weeks ago, when they lost
- 2:59Speaker 1: to the forty nine ers and Jared Goff had another
- 3:01Speaker 1: suspect game, I really didn't know what to think of
- 3:03Speaker 1: this team. But the second put the tape on, these
- 3:05Speaker 1: guys are good, and it's it's I'm I'm not gonna
- 3:08Speaker 1: say I'm scared, but I'm very concerned. I'm a high
- 3:11Speaker 1: alert for this football team because you just look at
- 3:13Speaker 1: the numbers, bump. You kind of started it, like, first
- 3:15Speaker 1: of all, we're playing the second best defense in the NFL.
- 3:17Speaker 1: It starts on defense with them, they're number two and
- 3:19Speaker 1: points allott only allowing nineteen points a game past defense
- 3:22Speaker 1: or number two one hundred and ninety seven yards game
- 3:25Speaker 1: and then total defense two hundred ninety one yards their
- 3:27Speaker 1: second again, So honestly, it starts up front. We'll get
- 3:30Speaker 1: into the man up and get in the specifics of it,
- 3:32Speaker 1: but defensively, they're good football team, and after this last week,
- 3:36Speaker 1: it'll be interesting to see how they line up against
- 3:38Speaker 1: us because we struggle with some pressure looks. So we
- 3:40Speaker 1: definitely got our work cut out for us. For sure.
- 3:42Speaker 1: They are second in the league with twenty four sacks,
- 3:44Speaker 1: and they had the leading sacker on their team and
- 3:46Speaker 1: Aaron donald Wood nine sacks. Golf has only been sacked
- 3:50Speaker 1: ten times, So that offensive line is doing their thing.
- 3:53Speaker 1: They're looking good, like you say, you put on the film.
- 3:56Speaker 1: You look at these numbers. They have a top five
- 3:58Speaker 1: offense in the top ten defense. They got a balance
- 4:02Speaker 1: offensive attack. They run the ball, they can throw the rod.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Darryl Henderson is a nice running back. Yep, it's a
- 4:08Speaker 1: name that people probably don't know, they don't really respect it,
- 4:11Speaker 1: but you look on the film. Due this fast, he
- 4:13Speaker 1: understands his own concept. We know they're gonna show that
- 4:16Speaker 1: jet suite where Robert was. They're gonna do a lot
- 4:18Speaker 1: of things could try to confuse you, and they have
- 4:20Speaker 1: the personnel to get them. If Jared Golfing has taken
- 4:22Speaker 1: care of the football, then this poses a great threat
- 4:26Speaker 1: against his defense. Every offense does at this point, especially
- 4:29Speaker 1: because the Seahawks aren't healthy. But if if golf can
- 4:32Speaker 1: take care of the rock, I'm a big concern. I'm
- 4:36Speaker 1: like you, I'm not I'm not like scared, but I
- 4:38Speaker 1: am definitely concerned. Oh no, question about it. And And the
- 4:41Speaker 1: thing when you think of the Rams, you think of
- 4:43Speaker 1: like you mentioned the jet SUITEP, you think of their
- 4:44Speaker 1: crossing rats, you think of their their short passing game.
- 4:47Speaker 1: But they're getting a lot of twelve personel man, and
- 4:49Speaker 1: they want to run the ball. You mentioned Henderson, like
- 4:51Speaker 1: when they get going, they want to run the ball.
- 4:53Speaker 1: And you mentioned it to their offensive line only ten
- 4:56Speaker 1: sacks just comparison, the Seahawks offensive line has been a
- 4:59Speaker 1: strength of this football team this year and we've been
- 5:01Speaker 1: in Russell has been sacked twenty four times, so that
- 5:03Speaker 1: kind of God, give you some contexts that, like, they're
- 5:05Speaker 1: only giving them up about a sack of game. So
- 5:08Speaker 1: we better come with it, man, They've better have a
- 5:09Speaker 1: good week of practice, good turnover Thursday, all that good stuff,
- 5:12Speaker 1: because they're gonna need to come with it for sure.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Better be all good. And let's not forget to mention
- 5:17Speaker 1: they had a bye week, so that they've had two
- 5:19Speaker 1: weeks to prepare for this football team, so you know
- 5:21Speaker 1: they're gonna get their best shop. Let's learn a little
- 5:23Speaker 1: bit about this matchup and know your history. No, your history.
- 5:28Speaker 1: So the series record between the Rams and the Seahawks
- 5:31Speaker 1: is twenty four twenty with the Seahawks leading that there
- 5:34Speaker 1: was one playoff loss in two thousand and four, and
- 5:36Speaker 1: this is what got me man. I guess I didn't
- 5:38Speaker 1: really pay enough attention. But surprisingly enough, the Seahawks have
- 5:41Speaker 1: only won three of their last ten meetings with the Rams.
- 5:44Speaker 1: That's crazy bump wow, Like it doesn't feel that way. Obviously,
- 5:47Speaker 1: the Rams got good, they went to Super Bowl in
- 5:48Speaker 1: twenty eighteen, and they've been good since McVeigh has been there.
- 5:51Speaker 1: But still it doesn't feel like we've only won three
- 5:53Speaker 1: of our last ten. Last meeting, the Seahawks went down
- 5:57Speaker 1: to LA in the call. CEM lost twenty eight to
- 6:00Speaker 1: twelve on Sunday Night Football, and that's kind of when
- 6:02Speaker 1: things started to go south for the Seahawks last year
- 6:04Speaker 1: on the injury front. After his best game of the year,
- 6:06Speaker 1: we start Penny towards ACL and we love and seen
- 6:09Speaker 1: him since that game last year, Quadre Diggs did his thing,
- 6:11Speaker 1: did have two interceptions and a pick six. But I
- 6:14Speaker 1: want to talk about the first matchup against the Rams
- 6:16Speaker 1: last year because Thursday Night Football packed house action, green uniforms,
- 6:21Speaker 1: and I think we got to witness the best pitching
- 6:24Speaker 1: catch I've ever seen live in a football game. Luke
- 6:27Speaker 1: Wilson in motion on the left side. Russell play face
- 6:30Speaker 1: steps back, has time still surveying the field. Now he
- 6:34Speaker 1: rolls left. Now he scrambles. Now he's gonna throw to
- 6:36Speaker 1: the back of the end zone, reaching out a banking
- 6:38Speaker 1: of catch. Did he get his fat in it? In?
- 6:40Speaker 1: Touts down, Sayhawks, thelulist guy on the field plied the ladder,
- 6:47Speaker 1: kept his toe nails in and Tyler Lockett put six
- 6:51Speaker 1: on the board for the Seahawks from thirteen yards out.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Bump your receiver, man. That has to be one of
- 6:57Speaker 1: the best plays I've ever seen ever. Yeah, one of
- 6:59Speaker 1: the best best players I've ever seen. I compared to
- 7:01Speaker 1: Santonio Holmes when he played for the Pittsburgh Steelers against
- 7:05Speaker 1: the Cardinals in the Super Bowl. But there was a
- 7:09Speaker 1: stat like the percentages that Russell Wilson completed that pass
- 7:13Speaker 1: was like point something. It wasn't even like a full percent.
- 7:16Speaker 1: He has to be super accurate. He has to trust
- 7:18Speaker 1: this guy. And I'll never forget. I ended up getting
- 7:20Speaker 1: my brother in law tickets to that game, and his
- 7:22Speaker 1: seats were right there in front of that. He texted
- 7:25Speaker 1: me after the game, and he said that section was
- 7:27Speaker 1: just going as granted, all of Century Link was going us,
- 7:30Speaker 1: but that section was going crazy. And then I got
- 7:32Speaker 1: to interview Tyler Lockett the week after him on a
- 7:35Speaker 1: hundred yards with bumpers and I had times I look, man,
- 7:38Speaker 1: probably the best catch I've ever seen. Let's hope they
- 7:41Speaker 1: create some of that magic this week against the Rams
- 7:45Speaker 1: one more time. All right, what's the word in the
- 7:48Speaker 1: West and the Seahawks or the NFC West champs again,
- 7:56Speaker 1: what's the word in the West? On high talk? The
- 8:01Speaker 1: word in the West is even though the Hawks took
- 8:03Speaker 1: an l last week, they're still sitting on top of
- 8:06Speaker 1: the division at six and two. Arizona's right behind them
- 8:10Speaker 1: at five and three. The Rams are at five and three,
- 8:13Speaker 1: Frisco is at four and five. Now, I want to
- 8:15Speaker 1: point some things out to people. The Seahawks have the
- 8:19Speaker 1: best offense in the league, the best scoring offense in
- 8:21Speaker 1: the league. The best overall offense in the league is
- 8:24Speaker 1: Arizona Cardinals. They fifth and scoring second and rushing. They
- 8:31Speaker 1: have more of a balanced attack. Now when it comes
- 8:33Speaker 1: to putting up points, I'm gonna go with Russell Wilson
- 8:35Speaker 1: all day, but I'd say that just to let people
- 8:37Speaker 1: know how difficult this division is. And then you look
- 8:40Speaker 1: at the Los Angeles Rams. They have the number two
- 8:43Speaker 1: defense in the number six offense. So there's a cluster
- 8:45Speaker 1: of NFC teams at the top of offensive categories. That's
- 8:49Speaker 1: how tough this division is. Any week, anybody could lose.
- 8:53Speaker 1: It's gonna be a tough game this week, oh, no
- 8:55Speaker 1: question about it. And just real quick, I need to
- 8:57Speaker 1: give a shout out to the Dolphins. Man. The Dolphins
- 9:00Speaker 1: is are really putting on for the Seahawks this year.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Not only did they drop, they loose the Seahawks, they
- 9:05Speaker 1: beat the Niners, they beat the Cardinals, and they beat
- 9:09Speaker 1: the Rams. So obviously, we talked about it earlier. The
- 9:11Speaker 1: Dolphins are obviously much better team than anyone's thought at
- 9:14Speaker 1: the beginning of this year, and they're definitely doing us
- 9:16Speaker 1: a saw it in the division. But let's let's talk
- 9:19Speaker 1: about that. So, the Dolphins recently just beat the Cardinals
- 9:21Speaker 1: in the game that came down to the wire. Um
- 9:24Speaker 1: Colinary was balling out and tours down the stretch. The
- 9:27Speaker 1: Cardinals drove down forty four yards to the dolphins thirty
- 9:30Speaker 1: one yard line with a minute fifty eight to go,
- 9:33Speaker 1: set up for a game tying field goal that came
- 9:36Speaker 1: up just short. This will be a forty nine yard
- 9:39Speaker 1: field goal. It seams, kick is up and the kick
- 9:42Speaker 1: was good, But so we're tied with one. It short
- 9:48Speaker 1: in it. It d give me. I'm with you. I
- 9:58Speaker 1: thought it was going through down the middle. It was
- 10:01Speaker 1: perfectly straight. It's just like you know, you hit that
- 10:03Speaker 1: wedge a little fat, joe, Yeah, like one hundred and
- 10:06Speaker 1: twenty yards and it only goes like one hundred and eighteen.
- 10:08Speaker 1: He must say this then literally hit the crossboard. What
- 10:13Speaker 1: a break for the Dolphins. That ended up ending the game.
- 10:17Speaker 1: But the reason I played that bump. You ever done
- 10:18Speaker 1: that in the golf course? You thought you hit it
- 10:20Speaker 1: just night came up hit the wedge fat most definitely,
- 10:24Speaker 1: probably half of the time, especially out here when his
- 10:26Speaker 1: raining and it's soggy. Maybe if I'm out in Calie,
- 10:29Speaker 1: I can skip it off of the turf. But yeah,
- 10:31Speaker 1: hitting the wes fat, I know all about that. Let's
- 10:33Speaker 1: not forgive. Kyler Murray had a day to one twenty
- 10:36Speaker 1: six two hundred and three yards three touchdowns. Also rushed
- 10:39Speaker 1: for one hundred and eleven carries and one touchdown. I
- 10:42Speaker 1: saw Keyshewan, not know who was It wasn't Keshean, it
- 10:45Speaker 1: was Bomini, I believe it was. When ESPN today saying
- 10:49Speaker 1: if Kyler Murray were in Baltimore's offense or just the
- 10:54Speaker 1: Baltimore Ravens quarterback, they will be Super Bowl down. That's
- 10:58Speaker 1: how much she thinks over mar Jackson. Even though Lamara
- 11:01Speaker 1: had an MVP season last year. That's all versatile. This
- 11:04Speaker 1: young man is well, he can just do it. He
- 11:05Speaker 1: can do everything. That's the thing about it. And that's
- 11:07Speaker 1: the difference between him and Lamar. Lamar is a good quarterback. Obviously,
- 11:10Speaker 1: he can throw the pill. He is a quarterback. He's
- 11:11Speaker 1: not a running back. But the difference is when you
- 11:13Speaker 1: need when you even make a play with your arm
- 11:15Speaker 1: and you gotta sit there in the pocket and make
- 11:17Speaker 1: a throw. Kylin Murray's this light years ahead of Lamar
- 11:19Speaker 1: at this point. So again, we got them the following
- 11:23Speaker 1: week on a Thursday night football in a short week.
- 11:25Speaker 1: So it's gonna be run out to come with it.
- 11:26Speaker 1: And like you said, every single week is a dog fight.
- 11:30Speaker 1: I mean on the Miami side. Two starting to look
- 11:32Speaker 1: a little bit better. He went two and forty yards
- 11:34Speaker 1: two touchdowns. So they're they're a good football team and
- 11:37Speaker 1: at the end of the year, that's gonna be one
- 11:38Speaker 1: of our marquee wins. I promise you I don't no
- 11:41Speaker 1: disrespect to Bud a banker, local legend. Youll w I
- 11:44Speaker 1: get it. But did you see the move that two
- 11:46Speaker 1: wall put on him? My goodness, man, we looked at
- 11:49Speaker 1: the stats. Two round a four nine. Two's not looking
- 11:51Speaker 1: like he's running a four nine. He looked like a
- 11:53Speaker 1: cool four or six out there. He put that foot
- 11:55Speaker 1: in the ground. Wow, made a move. If he can
- 11:58Speaker 1: add that to his game too, because you don't think
- 11:59Speaker 1: it too as a runner, not at all, but he was.
- 12:02Speaker 1: He was getting loose. So if he can add that
- 12:03Speaker 1: to the game, that is what's Now. Let's talk about
- 12:06Speaker 1: these forty nine ers, all right, they were molly wopped
- 12:11Speaker 1: a you know what. NASA's our producer and he puts
- 12:13Speaker 1: in little gyms. Molly wopped big Us Street for putting
- 12:16Speaker 1: molly wopped in there. I haven't hurt that since eighty seven.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Why molly wopped thirty four to seventeen by the Packers.
- 12:24Speaker 1: But they're they're they're wounded, man. Even Aaron Rodgers was like, yeah,
- 12:27Speaker 1: we won, but you know, and that's what we're supposed
- 12:28Speaker 1: to do. They're beat up. It's it's probably over for
- 12:31Speaker 1: the forty nine ers. I mean, um, they were jetting
- 12:34Speaker 1: there down Jimmy Garoppolo, Kitto Moster, Deebo, Samuel I you
- 12:38Speaker 1: Kendrick Bourne, Trent Williams, Richard Sherman, Nick Bosady Ford tons More. Um,
- 12:42Speaker 1: that's eighty million dollars of cass base on the bench. Man.
- 12:46Speaker 1: It's hard to win any football games like that. It's
- 12:48Speaker 1: it's tough, man. Next thing, you know, Shanahan's gonna need
- 12:51Speaker 1: MCL surgery or something like that. You might as well
- 12:53Speaker 1: throw coaching there, losing all his dang money. Well, they
- 12:57Speaker 1: kept it interesting for the first quarter, only trolling a
- 12:59Speaker 1: seventy three, but the Packer to score seven twenty four
- 13:02Speaker 1: unanswered and a route to an easy victory. God bless
- 13:07Speaker 1: the forty nine. Is your season is over? Let's see
- 13:10Speaker 1: who we gotta watch out for? On man ups? Is
- 13:14Speaker 1: this miss this man up? Unhawk talk like we start
- 13:24Speaker 1: every week. You gotta focus on the quarterback. Jerry Goff
- 13:27Speaker 1: Now Gough, he's had an interesting year this year. Eight
- 13:30Speaker 1: one hundred eighty six or two eighty four two hundred
- 13:33Speaker 1: and eighty five yards, thirteen touchdowns in six interceptions. He's
- 13:37Speaker 1: completing sixty five percent of his passes, like we mentioned earlier,
- 13:40Speaker 1: only been sacked ten times. And every week I feel
- 13:44Speaker 1: like we have this conversation. I cannot get a read
- 13:46Speaker 1: on number sixteen. I can't get a read on this man.
- 13:49Speaker 1: When he's playing well and he has time to throw
- 13:51Speaker 1: in the pocket, he looks like a top ten quarterback.
- 13:53Speaker 1: When he's under duress, under pressure, he looks like a
- 13:56Speaker 1: bottom five quarterback. And it just doesn't make sense to me,
- 13:58Speaker 1: because they have the weapons and they should never look
- 14:00Speaker 1: as bad as they do some weeks on offense, and
- 14:02Speaker 1: then they flip it back next week in since core
- 14:05Speaker 1: forty points. So it just doesn't make sense to me. Yeah,
- 14:08Speaker 1: and he's only been sacked ten times. So does that
- 14:10Speaker 1: mean that he's getting great protection or is he so
- 14:13Speaker 1: scared every time he feels a blitz he's just letting
- 14:15Speaker 1: it go and not even giving defense is a chance
- 14:17Speaker 1: to get after him. Now, Lucky for him, he's going
- 14:20Speaker 1: up against the worst defense in the NFL. And it
- 14:23Speaker 1: hurts my soul to say that because on this defense
- 14:26Speaker 1: you still have Bobby Wagner, kJ, Jamal Adams, Quandre. We'll
- 14:30Speaker 1: see if Shaq is back this week. We know Dunbar
- 14:32Speaker 1: has hurt. On paper, this defense looks like it should
- 14:35Speaker 1: be one of the best defenses in all of the land.
- 14:37Speaker 1: You just got dune Lap. Don't know if Snacks is
- 14:39Speaker 1: gonna be there are not. I'm sure he is excited
- 14:43Speaker 1: for this challenge. But I also think that on praying
- 14:46Speaker 1: that this defensive staffs fine ways to put pressure on
- 14:50Speaker 1: the quarterback without leaving the secondary out to dry. Yeah. Man,
- 14:55Speaker 1: it hurts my heart every time I hear people talk
- 14:58Speaker 1: about the worst defense in the NFL, or every time
- 15:00Speaker 1: I hear that we're on pace to give up the
- 15:02Speaker 1: most yards in the history of NFL, the most pass
- 15:04Speaker 1: yards in the history in the NFL. I just, I
- 15:05Speaker 1: just my brain can't compute what's going on, because, like
- 15:09Speaker 1: you mentioned it, we are too talented. We have too
- 15:10Speaker 1: many good guys on this football team, and every week
- 15:13Speaker 1: I'm just praying it comes together and like you mentioned,
- 15:15Speaker 1: with hopefully with Dunlap helping that defensive line, we can
- 15:19Speaker 1: get to the quarterback without send in the house. Because
- 15:21Speaker 1: in that sense, Dunlap is going to open up Jarren Reid. Right,
- 15:25Speaker 1: Jarren Reid had a career high two and a half sacks,
- 15:27Speaker 1: and I'm hoping he comes back. If we get Mayoa back,
- 15:30Speaker 1: if enough guys win, because you need to have more
- 15:33Speaker 1: than one guy win on every pass rush because the
- 15:35Speaker 1: Seawks are getting pressure. If you'll give the numbers, it's
- 15:37Speaker 1: just one guy wins. Quarterback steps up, then he gets
- 15:40Speaker 1: out of the pocket. So hopefully we can get that going.
- 15:42Speaker 1: And you want to build off that seven sack performance
- 15:45Speaker 1: because if we can and just make God get the
- 15:47Speaker 1: ball out quick, because like you said, we're struggling in
- 15:49Speaker 1: the secondary a little bit. I'm hoping Trey Flowers is
- 15:52Speaker 1: playing some good football. He's getting his confidence back. If
- 15:54Speaker 1: he can get shkilled back, whoever it's gonna be, whether
- 15:56Speaker 1: it's Shaquille Dunbar, Lyndon Stevens, we just gotta step it up.
- 16:00Speaker 1: But I'm hoping that this is the week they can
- 16:02Speaker 1: finally get it done. Another matchup bump receivers Cooper Cup
- 16:06Speaker 1: in Robert Woods versus Secondary. We just talked about Cooper
- 16:09Speaker 1: Cup forty eight receptions, five hundred and twenty seven yards,
- 16:12Speaker 1: two touchdowns, three hundred and twelve yak yards after the catch.
- 16:15Speaker 1: He's a talented dude. Then you got Robert Woods, who
- 16:17Speaker 1: does a lot. They'll lose some fly sweep action. Thirty
- 16:20Speaker 1: seven receptions on the year, four hundred and thirty six
- 16:22Speaker 1: yards and four touchdowns. Now, bum, I'm gonna start with
- 16:25Speaker 1: Cooper Cup. He scares me a lot too, because not
- 16:27Speaker 1: only is he even get busy in the slot, he's
- 16:29Speaker 1: a big dude. So it's yeah, he's a physical matchup nightmare.
- 16:33Speaker 1: So I don't know if Maddy's gonna be back or not,
- 16:35Speaker 1: but DJ Reid definitely is gonna have his hands full
- 16:37Speaker 1: again this week. Cooper Cup is a top five receiver
- 16:40Speaker 1: in the NFL. I don't care what does numbers say,
- 16:42Speaker 1: forty a for five twenty seven two touchdowns. There are
- 16:45Speaker 1: guys who are producing more than but you look at
- 16:47Speaker 1: his route running as route running second to none. I
- 16:50Speaker 1: feel like he can run routs with the best of them.
- 16:51Speaker 1: With the young guys like Judy and then Hopkins, they
- 16:54Speaker 1: get all the love. I don't think Cooper Cup gets
- 16:56Speaker 1: enough respect. And then his yards after the cash he
- 16:59Speaker 1: can get loose. After his rookie year, he went back
- 17:01Speaker 1: to the drawing board and said, look, I have to
- 17:03Speaker 1: get faster now. Woods. Woods ran a four or five
- 17:06Speaker 1: one out to combine on film. He's a four or
- 17:08Speaker 1: four guy, high, four to three guy all day. Gonna
- 17:11Speaker 1: use him on the jet suits. He's back home in Cali.
- 17:14Speaker 1: That's where he's from. He went to Sarah High School.
- 17:16Speaker 1: Side note, that's the high school that put me out
- 17:18Speaker 1: of the playoffs my senior year whilst high school. But
- 17:21Speaker 1: it's all good. I forgive y'all. I forgive y'all. The
- 17:23Speaker 1: rubber was man versatile, he's fast. They have a good
- 17:27Speaker 1: duo right here. We know we're gonna use him in
- 17:28Speaker 1: jet sweets. Lots of motion, lots of misdirection. Just be
- 17:32Speaker 1: disciplined on defense. Hawks, be disciplined, all right. Next matchup,
- 17:36Speaker 1: we got Darryl Henderson and Malcolm Brown verse the Seahawks
- 17:40Speaker 1: front seven. Henderson has ninety five carricter for four and
- 17:43Speaker 1: to fifty eight yards, three touchdown, ten receptions, one hundred
- 17:46Speaker 1: and twenty yards one touchdown. Brown seventy five carries three
- 17:49Speaker 1: fourteen three touchdowns, fourteen receptions on seventy nine yards. I
- 17:54Speaker 1: like Darrell Henderson Man's physical I watched the Wood. He's physical,
- 17:58Speaker 1: he's fast, and he's young, and at that at that
- 18:01Speaker 1: RB spot, if you're young, you already got a plus
- 18:04Speaker 1: because you know once RB has hit about twenty eight
- 18:06Speaker 1: twenty nine, it starts to go down him. I feel
- 18:09Speaker 1: like he understands the zone scheme beautifully. I broke down
- 18:14Speaker 1: a play on film Sessions where it's just a simple zone.
- 18:17Speaker 1: You press the B gap going to the left. You
- 18:19Speaker 1: wait for your guard and your tackles. Assume your guardian
- 18:21Speaker 1: centers a double team. And he pressed it, and then
- 18:24Speaker 1: you look for the cutback. He put his left foot
- 18:26Speaker 1: in the ground cutback and now he's gone. I'd like
- 18:28Speaker 1: to know what his forty time was. But I love
- 18:30Speaker 1: what I'm seeing out in Henderson. You hit the nail
- 18:32Speaker 1: on the head where he's smooth and he's also physical,
- 18:35Speaker 1: and like we mentioned, they want to run the football.
- 18:38Speaker 1: I think they need balance in their offense for Jared
- 18:40Speaker 1: Goff to return to the Jared Goff for twenty eighteen.
- 18:42Speaker 1: They need balance and right now they're getting it from
- 18:44Speaker 1: Henderson and Brown. So the Seahawks is one thing they're
- 18:46Speaker 1: doing really well defensively is stopping the run. They're only
- 18:49Speaker 1: allowing ninety three yards on the ground per game. The
- 18:51Speaker 1: Rams are running the ball pretty well, one hundred and
- 18:54Speaker 1: thirty seven yards per game. So the thing there with
- 18:57Speaker 1: me is I just want to know how much they're
- 18:59Speaker 1: gonna use him. I really do, because we said it
- 19:02Speaker 1: before last week, how we thought the Bills kind of
- 19:04Speaker 1: figured out what they're gonna do and they need balance, right. Well,
- 19:07Speaker 1: then they looked at we were doing defensively and said
- 19:09Speaker 1: we worsh and throw the pill every single down. So
- 19:11Speaker 1: it's gonna be really interesting to see what Sean mcvagh
- 19:13Speaker 1: has in store for the Seahawks. Is like you mentioned,
- 19:16Speaker 1: given that man, another full week to prepare for the
- 19:19Speaker 1: Seahawks is dangerous. So I'm really gonna be interested to
- 19:22Speaker 1: see if they still are committed to try and run
- 19:24Speaker 1: the ball to get this offense gone. I think you
- 19:27Speaker 1: have to come out throwing the ball just to test it. Like, okay,
- 19:31Speaker 1: all right, listen, aren't they the worst passing defense out there?
- 19:34Speaker 1: Let's test them at first, but you but you already know, man,
- 19:37Speaker 1: they're going to there. They have to run the football.
- 19:39Speaker 1: That's too much a part of who they are. But
- 19:41Speaker 1: then I could be wrong. Last week we thought the
- 19:43Speaker 1: Bills were gonna come out and run the rock. They
- 19:45Speaker 1: ran it three times in the first half. That is
- 19:46Speaker 1: so disrespectful. Rams, so disrespectful. All right, next matchup, Russell
- 19:50Speaker 1: Wilson versus Rams defense Russell twenty one excuse me two
- 19:55Speaker 1: eleven for twenty nine seven twenty one yards, twenty eight
- 19:58Speaker 1: touchdowns and eight interceptions. That eight interceptions is really surprising
- 20:03Speaker 1: to me. I spoke to Pete on Monday and I say, man,
- 20:06Speaker 1: do you feel like Russell's kind of pressing a little
- 20:08Speaker 1: bit because he feels like he has to get more done?
- 20:10Speaker 1: And he said, yeah, he might be, but then you
- 20:12Speaker 1: know he's always gonna protect this quarterba. He goes, nah,
- 20:14Speaker 1: you know, just a couple of mistakes here, are there? Me? Personally,
- 20:18Speaker 1: if Russell doesn't play well, they're not gonna win. And
- 20:20Speaker 1: I think he feels that, so he's all right, I'm
- 20:21Speaker 1: gonna take more chances. I have to take more chances.
- 20:24Speaker 1: They still put up thirty four points and don't get
- 20:26Speaker 1: it done. Hayes has got to fix the turnover thing.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Throw it in the dirt, right, get back to the basics. Well, yeah,
- 20:31Speaker 1: when you see eight touchdowns, that's that's it. Jumps off
- 20:33Speaker 1: the page at you, because like, that's a season for
- 20:35Speaker 1: Russell Wilson, that's a season He's only had a couple
- 20:37Speaker 1: of seasons where even through double digit interceptions, and you
- 20:39Speaker 1: have guys that are throwing sixteen, fifteen eighteen a year,
- 20:41Speaker 1: So it's weird. And you mentioned I think he is
- 20:45Speaker 1: taking a little more chances than he normally would. But
- 20:48Speaker 1: you also got to look at that game too, specifically,
- 20:50Speaker 1: when you get down fourteen nothing right away and you
- 20:52Speaker 1: don't feel like you can get a stop, you're gonna
- 20:54Speaker 1: take more chances. So I think that contributed last week.
- 20:56Speaker 1: But we just gotta take care of the football. As
- 20:59Speaker 1: you mentioned again to Arizona, he's still the best quarterback
- 21:01Speaker 1: in the league. Coming off a loss with a career
- 21:03Speaker 1: thirty one in eight record, that's the best in NFL
- 21:06Speaker 1: history since the merger. And last time he came up
- 21:08Speaker 1: the loss, Russell responding great, throwing four touchdowns and zero
- 21:11Speaker 1: picks against the forty nine ers. But bump Man, we're
- 21:15Speaker 1: going up against a whole different kind of beast with
- 21:17Speaker 1: this Rams defense. They're the second best defense in pretty
- 21:20Speaker 1: much every category, second best in defense, second best in scoring,
- 21:26Speaker 1: only giving up only given up nine passing touchdowns in
- 21:30Speaker 1: eight games, fifth in rush defense, alowing ninety four on
- 21:33Speaker 1: the ground. Well, I mean, how where do you start?
- 21:35Speaker 1: Where do you attack? I don't I don't know where
- 21:37Speaker 1: to start here. I think, well, you have to start.
- 21:39Speaker 1: You have to let Russell have the football in his
- 21:41Speaker 1: hands and hopefully do a thing. You know what you
- 21:43Speaker 1: know how you you typically defer, That's what most seems
- 21:46Speaker 1: doing when you get the coin toss Nah Seahawks, get
- 21:48Speaker 1: the rock, give us to Russell and let you get
- 21:51Speaker 1: going right now. No, I'm totally with you on that.
- 21:53Speaker 1: And the thing too, is like where you mentioned, where
- 21:56Speaker 1: do you start? I think it's gonna be a big
- 21:59Speaker 1: chain if the Seaws have Chris Carson or Carlos hide back,
- 22:03Speaker 1: because this offense for Russell would be great. Obviously, we
- 22:06Speaker 1: know he can do his thing. He can throw the
- 22:07Speaker 1: ball forty times. He's gonna give us a chance to
- 22:09Speaker 1: win every time. But to have the appearance of a
- 22:12Speaker 1: run game as a real threat is definitely gonna change
- 22:15Speaker 1: the game. Because when you're getting pressured as much as
- 22:17Speaker 1: Russell has recently, if you can run the pill that
- 22:20Speaker 1: alleviates some of that pressure. We can do some screen games.
- 22:22Speaker 1: He saw the Bills do it against us when we
- 22:24Speaker 1: started getting home all the time. They ran a couple
- 22:25Speaker 1: of beautifully John screens right into the blitz and got
- 22:27Speaker 1: some big yarded So hopefully we can start there. We
- 22:31Speaker 1: need to see DK and those guys go out all out,
- 22:33Speaker 1: so they're gonna have their hand school. It's gonna be
- 22:35Speaker 1: interesting to see the Rams defensive coordinator Brandon Stanley when
- 22:39Speaker 1: he draws up, and just a quick shout out to Stanley,
- 22:41Speaker 1: who's defensive D three defensive coordinator at John Carroll University.
- 22:44Speaker 1: Shout out to all the D D schools out there
- 22:46Speaker 1: before he made the jump to the NFL. So it's
- 22:48Speaker 1: gonna be interesting to see again he's had another full
- 22:50Speaker 1: week to prepare for Russell Wilson because but any defensive coordinator,
- 22:55Speaker 1: I don't care if you have a month to prepare
- 22:56Speaker 1: for Russell, you're still not gonna be complete ready because
- 22:59Speaker 1: he's gonna come with it. It'll be interesting to see
- 23:01Speaker 1: what they do there. But bump another matchup man Aaron
- 23:04Speaker 1: Donald versus her body everybody on offense. Aaron Donald might guy.
- 23:09Speaker 1: He is the best interior defensive lineman inter National Football League,
- 23:14Speaker 1: and it is not close. There's not a close second. Nah.
- 23:17Speaker 1: He makes me nervous just just looking at him. If
- 23:20Speaker 1: you were to walk into my house right now and
- 23:23Speaker 1: just stare at me, I'd be nervous. I'm like you.
- 23:26Speaker 1: The way he is with his hands is crazy. I've
- 23:29Speaker 1: seen him do things. I've seen him jump and chop
- 23:32Speaker 1: hands down. You're not supposed to leave your feet. Who
- 23:34Speaker 1: can leave their feet and chop hands down on a
- 23:37Speaker 1: six five, three hundred pound dude. He does things that
- 23:39Speaker 1: you just can't think of. Against the Seahawks in twelve games, yes,
- 23:43Speaker 1: twelve sacks, thirty tackles, nineteen tackles for lost, thirty three
- 23:47Speaker 1: quarterback hits, two passes defended, two fours fumbles. He's filling
- 23:51Speaker 1: up that stat sheet. He's filling it up. Oh my god.
- 23:53Speaker 1: I mean every single time. That's the thing. When you
- 23:55Speaker 1: you know post it comes out, Okay, fifty fours and
- 23:57Speaker 1: Mike blah blah, this and that. Hey, the guy right
- 24:00Speaker 1: in front of you, that's how you's ninety nine? Where
- 24:04Speaker 1: is ninety nine? You got a double one man. Everybody's
- 24:08Speaker 1: seen him line up in the one tech, the three tech,
- 24:10Speaker 1: the five tech, and they move him around as well,
- 24:13Speaker 1: he'll start off in the five and then eventually end
- 24:16Speaker 1: up in the three I mean six, one, two, eighty,
- 24:19Speaker 1: and he uses his leverage. He is probably the most
- 24:22Speaker 1: impressive player defensively I have seen. Now. I know there's
- 24:25Speaker 1: been a lot of guys who can ball out, but
- 24:27Speaker 1: me personally, he's probably my favorite since Ed Reid every
- 24:31Speaker 1: was mine. Dude, he can just take over a game
- 24:33Speaker 1: at at the safety position. Aaron Donald can take over
- 24:36Speaker 1: games as an interior lineman, which is impressive. He's been
- 24:39Speaker 1: in All Pro every single year since twenty fifteen. Only
- 24:42Speaker 1: this year he has twenty six tackles, nine sacks, eleven
- 24:45Speaker 1: tackles for lost, three four stumbles as an interior lineman.
- 24:49Speaker 1: The next closest person on his team, and when you
- 24:51Speaker 1: talk about tackle for loss has two point five. So
- 24:53Speaker 1: I mean, he's what they do. And yeah, we're gonna
- 24:57Speaker 1: have her hands to up front. You gotta duble him
- 24:58Speaker 1: every play. But like that, like the we talked about,
- 25:00Speaker 1: he can take you with his hands and drive you
- 25:02Speaker 1: right back into the quarterback, or he can slap your
- 25:05Speaker 1: hands down and leave you laying on. I mean, it's
- 25:06Speaker 1: just he's scary man. So Ethan posted Damian Lewis all
- 25:10Speaker 1: you guys, man, good luck. We're gonna need it. Man,
- 25:12Speaker 1: We're gonna need it with this dude. Come together offensive line.
- 25:16Speaker 1: Next matchup DK versus Jalen Ramsey. I'm not even gonna
- 25:20Speaker 1: talk about stats right now. You talk about the stats.
- 25:23Speaker 1: I'm gonna talk about Jayleen. Ramsey's gonna do everything he
- 25:27Speaker 1: can to get in DK's head. Jaylen Ramsey is like
- 25:30Speaker 1: the Gary Payton of the NFL. He is gonna talk
- 25:32Speaker 1: to you, he is gonna talk about your cousins. He's
- 25:35Speaker 1: gonna tell you your garbage. After the game. He'll shake
- 25:38Speaker 1: your hand unless you're golden tape. But I want to
- 25:41Speaker 1: see mentally ken DK handled this challenge now. He handled
- 25:45Speaker 1: Stefan Gilmour, he handled Ward the little chihuah wad I
- 25:48Speaker 1: was barking at the forty nine ers a couple of
- 25:50Speaker 1: weeks ago. He has handled every challenge beautifully. I'm not
- 25:54Speaker 1: worried about the physical. I think he's gonna make his place.
- 25:57Speaker 1: He's gonna do what he has to do. But can
- 25:58Speaker 1: he stay locked in the men? But one of the
- 26:00Speaker 1: greatest trash talkers in all the land, Oh, no question
- 26:03Speaker 1: about it. And these guys matched up against each other
- 26:05Speaker 1: last year twice. In the game of their last meeting,
- 26:08Speaker 1: DC had six receptions seventy eight yards. And in this
- 26:12Speaker 1: nice over the shoulder play from Russell Wilson Rams Rush five,
- 26:15Speaker 1: Russ steps up in the pocket, shifts to the left,
- 26:18Speaker 1: now throws down the far sideline and Medcalf makes it
- 26:21Speaker 1: over the shoulder catch on a perfect pass by Russell
- 26:25Speaker 1: Wilson inside. No, now, they're gonna say, actually at the
- 26:28Speaker 1: twenty one yard line of the Rams, and then was
- 26:31Speaker 1: knocked down a bound was DK Metcalf for one a
- 26:34Speaker 1: beauty of twenty three yards from Russ. And here's the
- 26:37Speaker 1: thing with Dk, Obviously, he's forty three reception seven eight yards,
- 26:41Speaker 1: eight touchdowns, eighteen point three yards per catch second the NFL,
- 26:44Speaker 1: and yards only twenty five behind Stefon Diggs second the NFL,
- 26:48Speaker 1: and touchdowns only one behind Tyreek Hill. So he's gonna
- 26:51Speaker 1: do his thing. We know what he can do. It's
- 26:52Speaker 1: gonna be a great matchup. Twelves. Definitely get your popcorn
- 26:55Speaker 1: ready for this. But a quickly other shout out to
- 26:57Speaker 1: the secondary for the Rams. Taylor rap you that product
- 27:00Speaker 1: went to see Home high school out of Bellingham area.
- 27:03Speaker 1: He's a ball or two. He's over the peel. He's
- 27:05Speaker 1: gonna hit you. Hey, I don't like all these shoutouts
- 27:08Speaker 1: you're given to the rams nas. Hey, I'm not trying
- 27:12Speaker 1: to this good roster. I don't get it. I feel you,
- 27:15Speaker 1: I'll feel you snaps. All right, Well, I just can't
- 27:18Speaker 1: I can't wait for the matchup Jayla Ramsey. He doesn't
- 27:21Speaker 1: cause turnover. He's got one interception this year. He's more
- 27:24Speaker 1: of just just a dog off the lease. He's just Roman.
- 27:27Speaker 1: He's looking for the big hit. He's doing what he
- 27:29Speaker 1: has to do. All we talked about the matchups, Let's
- 27:31Speaker 1: talk about what they have to do to win this game.
- 27:34Speaker 1: The path to victory. After forty five waits for the snap,
- 27:39Speaker 1: Michael Vickson puts it down. That kick is away, and
- 27:42Speaker 1: that kick is gone. It's gone. It's a path to victory.
- 27:48Speaker 1: On Hawk Talk, how are you didn't get this done? Bump, Well,
- 27:51Speaker 1: it's gonna start with Jared Goff. You got to get
- 27:54Speaker 1: pressure on this dude. He cannot be comfortable in the pocket.
- 27:56Speaker 1: He's in no way the type of athletes that Seahawks's
- 27:59Speaker 1: face with. Josh Allen, you gotta pressure him early and often.
- 28:02Speaker 1: If you do not do that and he gets to
- 28:04Speaker 1: stand back there and read his keys and do other things,
- 28:07Speaker 1: it's gonna be a long day. We got to build
- 28:09Speaker 1: off those seven sacks we saw from last week, and
- 28:11Speaker 1: you gotta get after this man. He's essentially a statue
- 28:13Speaker 1: back there. You have to put pressure on him. Got
- 28:16Speaker 1: to put pressure on him, and this second day needs
- 28:18Speaker 1: to step it up. There are times in the secondary
- 28:20Speaker 1: where there's not a guy in a flat, or someone
- 28:21Speaker 1: has deep thirds and he jumps on a hook route.
- 28:24Speaker 1: Little things like that to where NFL quarterbacks are going
- 28:27Speaker 1: to exploit. You just have integrity and what you're supposed
- 28:30Speaker 1: to do. Alignment, assignment, execution. My high school coach used
- 28:33Speaker 1: to tell me that all the time. If they can
- 28:35Speaker 1: just align to sign and execute, not even execute at
- 28:37Speaker 1: an extremely high level, just be in the area. When
- 28:40Speaker 1: you're in the secondary and you're in the area you're
- 28:42Speaker 1: supposed to be him, good things are gonna happen, Oh,
- 28:44Speaker 1: no question about it. And in another week of Jamal Adams,
- 28:47Speaker 1: people forget he was out for a month, so playing
- 28:49Speaker 1: a full game. He played one hundred percent of snaps
- 28:51Speaker 1: last week. I know that Pete Carroll talk about that
- 28:53Speaker 1: was kind of tough for him to get through that.
- 28:54Speaker 1: So another week to get his legs under him, another
- 28:56Speaker 1: full week of practice, hopefully return of Shaquille Griffin. If
- 28:59Speaker 1: he's not back, Trey Flowers, who's been playing good football.
- 29:02Speaker 1: He talked about the probably the best game he's played
- 29:04Speaker 1: all season or ever seen him play. So he's got
- 29:06Speaker 1: that confidence back. And whether it's gonna be quitting Dunbar
- 29:09Speaker 1: or Lynn and Stevens, whoever it is, then you step
- 29:12Speaker 1: up big in a big way, and like you said,
- 29:13Speaker 1: be in the right spot, have some integrity and just
- 29:16Speaker 1: go out there and play man, be aggressive, be physical
- 29:18Speaker 1: because we need you guys this week. We need you guys.
- 29:21Speaker 1: We also need to take care of the football. If
- 29:23Speaker 1: it wasn't Russell Wilson, I say, ball security, job security,
- 29:26Speaker 1: but he's probably the most secure man in the NFL
- 29:28Speaker 1: when it comes to his job. So Russ just take
- 29:30Speaker 1: care of the fullball. I realized that he has to
- 29:33Speaker 1: take more chances because of the pressure that he's gonna
- 29:35Speaker 1: have with the defense given up a bunch of points,
- 29:37Speaker 1: but we've also seen him have that pressure in play well,
- 29:39Speaker 1: so and I expect Russell to bounce back. I've never
- 29:42Speaker 1: seen him put together two games like the one he

- 30:08Speaker 1: we're gonna have our hands full of Aaron Donald. Hopefully
- 30:11Speaker 1: another long week of practice O Lion gets things right
- 30:13Speaker 1: to protect that man, because we're gonna definitely need it.
