- 0:02Speaker 1: Hey, what up, boxing fans. This is the Rope of
- 0:04Speaker 1: Dope radio podcast. I am your host, Chris Carlson. We
- 0:09Speaker 1: got a lot to talk about. We do have a
- 0:11Speaker 1: lot to talk about from over the weekend. There's about
- 0:16Speaker 1: four fights that I'll zoom in on. Hergovic got a
- 0:21Speaker 1: big win over Joyce. Where does Joyce go from here?
- 0:26Speaker 1: And really what's the potential? Now? Where does Hergevic go
- 0:30Speaker 1: from here? Speaking of go from here? Ten zuo, right,
- 0:35Speaker 1: where does he go from here? Well, at least up
- 0:38Speaker 1: compared to where he was at the end of twenty
- 0:41Speaker 1: twenty four. He got a good win. You know, Joey
- 0:44Speaker 1: Spencer's more of a fringe contender guy, of course, but
- 0:47Speaker 1: he needed to kind of you know, not kind of.
- 0:50Speaker 1: He had to get back in the winning call. There's
- 0:52Speaker 1: no doubt about that. So he got a big win.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Jeanavic also won, right, hopefully he gets a big fight.
- 1:01Speaker 1: But Torres Junior, you know, it was a sloppy fight.
- 1:07Speaker 1: He's gonna be in a lot of them. I did
- 1:10Speaker 1: like what he did with this free hand, and it
- 1:15Speaker 1: was a nice win, really nice win. I got to
- 1:18Speaker 1: give him credit. I gotta admit I haven't been all
- 1:21Speaker 1: that high on Torres Junior. I'm still not completely sold
- 1:26Speaker 1: on him, but he's coming around and hopefully somewhere along
- 1:32Speaker 1: this level is where his opponent is, and then you
- 1:36Speaker 1: know thereafter keep moving him up to an extent anyway, right,
- 1:40Speaker 1: You're not going to just put him in there with
- 1:42Speaker 1: someone way up there. But yeah, it was a good win.
- 1:45Speaker 1: And also del Gatto Rodriguez. I'll go round by round
- 1:49Speaker 1: with that one as well, because I didn't think the
- 1:53Speaker 1: scorecards were right on that then. Of course, previewing predictions
- 1:59Speaker 1: for in Stanonius, really really looking forward to this fight.
- 2:05Speaker 1: I think on paper, stanionis Is is his best opponent.
- 2:12Speaker 1: I think he's the best fighter he's faced. Karen gave
- 2:16Speaker 1: him plenty to think about, especially in that second fight
- 2:19Speaker 1: getting hit with a bunch of left hands. But we'll see,
- 2:24Speaker 1: we'll see how that goes, and obviously we'll go over
- 2:26Speaker 1: some fight news as well. Beval decides to drop the
- 2:31Speaker 1: WBC belt, not a big surprise. I'll give you my
- 2:34Speaker 1: thoughts on the whole scenario. Eddie Hearn actually on IFL
- 2:39Speaker 1: TV just said a couple of things, confirming a couple
- 2:44Speaker 1: of things, whether that may be an offer or what
- 2:47Speaker 1: they choose to do. But you know, it obviously sucks
- 2:52Speaker 1: for David Benavitez. Let's see what his next opponent will be.
- 2:58Speaker 1: So I'm not one percent sold to be Calliam Smith.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Politics may play a part in it. He may want
- 3:07Speaker 1: to keep his positioning meaning him, meaning he meaning Tlliam Smith.
- 3:13Speaker 1: But we'll see Keishaw Davis, Edwin Delasanto's sounds like the
- 3:18Speaker 1: talks fell off. We'll get into some other fight news
- 3:23Speaker 1: as well. This is your first time listening to the
- 3:25Speaker 1: rope Adope Radio podcast. Welcome. It streams live all over
- 3:31Speaker 1: the place, well not all over the place, but the

- 3:47Speaker 1: head on over to the Gruelingtreuth dot Com, east Side
- 3:51Speaker 1: Boxing and Phil Boxing as well. One more thing from
- 3:55Speaker 1: direct TV stream. They're still talking about introducing the Andre pack. Okay,
- 4:01Speaker 1: it's a groundbreaking affordable curated platform thirty four and ninety
- 4:07Speaker 1: nine a month. You get to kind of figure out
- 4:09Speaker 1: what you want included. Also, you know the MLB is
- 4:15Speaker 1: in full swing. Home Field advantage. DirecTV stream carries the
- 4:19Speaker 1: most local MLB games now any contract, no hidden fees, playball,
- 4:23Speaker 1: limited time eighty nine ninety nine for the first three months.
- 4:26Speaker 1: When you sign up for a DirecTV stream and get
- 4:29Speaker 1: the Choice package, they do have a free trial five days.
- 4:33Speaker 1: The Entertainment package starts at eighty six ninety nine a month.
- 4:36Speaker 1: I just mentioned that eighty nine ninety nine, which includes
- 4:39Speaker 1: fan duel in the SEC network and over one hundred
- 4:43Speaker 1: and twenty five channels. That's for the first three months.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Ultimate package is one oh four ninety nine, which includes
- 4:50Speaker 1: over one hundred and sixty channels for the first three months. Okay,
- 4:55Speaker 1: so let's get into where should we. Let's start with
- 5:02Speaker 1: Hergavic and Joyce, shall we. You know, I didn't think
- 5:11Speaker 1: Joyce really stood a great chance of winning this fight.
- 5:19Speaker 1: The style matchup was not there beyond you know, maybe Hergavic,
- 5:29Speaker 1: you know, gassing out and whatnot. You know, that was
- 5:34Speaker 1: that was a possibility, but it was. I mean, Joyce
- 5:40Speaker 1: definitely did good. A little too late, I would say,
- 5:44Speaker 1: but he did good. You know, he did all right,
- 5:47Speaker 1: I should say, not great, But I thought the first
- 5:50Speaker 1: two rounds in many of the early rounds the jab
- 5:57Speaker 1: and the jab right hand, you know, some late combinations
- 6:01Speaker 1: of the first round Joyce and I was wondering how
- 6:08Speaker 1: he would, you know, would he just go in there
- 6:11Speaker 1: face first and try to knock him out like you
- 6:14Speaker 1: know his style and when he's the best now you
- 6:18Speaker 1: know the defense and the chin and all that. You
- 6:21Speaker 1: know it. It's not the best for him that way,
- 6:23Speaker 1: I guess you could say, but if you want to
- 6:25Speaker 1: win the fight, I think that was the best method.
- 6:30Speaker 1: He was circling in that range with the jab. He
- 6:35Speaker 1: did land a late right hand, but I still, you know,
- 6:39Speaker 1: definitely gave Hergevic the first and the second. He landed
- 6:44Speaker 1: some really good hooks and right hands early. There was
- 6:49Speaker 1: a cut I believe that was the second round above
- 6:52Speaker 1: the left eye, and you know Joyce is jabbing, but
- 7:00Speaker 1: you know he was more on the back foot a
- 7:02Speaker 1: little too much. The cleaner lands I gave to Hergavic
- 7:07Speaker 1: in the third round, and I did give Joyce. I
- 7:11Speaker 1: thought his first round that he won. Jab and rights
- 7:15Speaker 1: to the body were kind of the key for him.
- 7:19Speaker 1: I gave him the fourth round. Urga Vic later in
- 7:24Speaker 1: the fourth did land some decent shots, but I don't
- 7:26Speaker 1: think it was good enough. I did give the fifth
- 7:29Speaker 1: Hergevic once again those left hooks early in that round,
- 7:33Speaker 1: a late right hand and just right hands in general,
- 7:37Speaker 1: and to me, at times in this fight, like I said,
- 7:41Speaker 1: circling and all that, and at range and moving too
- 7:45Speaker 1: much in my opinion for his style. Anyway, I also
- 7:50Speaker 1: thought at times a little bit, not all the time,
- 7:52Speaker 1: but Joyce was also arm punching, just kind of move
- 7:55Speaker 1: in his arms, and you know, maybe that's he can't
- 8:00Speaker 1: really get as much on it. Maybe he was just
- 8:04Speaker 1: kind of getting his shots off and then dipping to
- 8:07Speaker 1: not get hit. I don't know, but I did notice that. However,
- 8:11Speaker 1: I thought he actually landed the better in the sixth round.
- 8:14Speaker 1: So it was four to two at the half point,
- 8:18Speaker 1: and it was obviously just a ten rounder, and Hergovic
- 8:23Speaker 1: won the seventh. You know, early and late, he closed
- 8:27Speaker 1: strong as well, the left hoach, the jab the right hand.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Joyce was kind of just doing the some busy work.
- 8:34Speaker 1: But the one two's for me did it there. I did, however,
- 8:39Speaker 1: give Joyce, who jabbed to the body really well, a
- 8:42Speaker 1: couple of looping right hands as well. I gave him
- 8:44Speaker 1: the eighth in the ninth two way round. That was
- 8:49Speaker 1: a close round. I thought in the last part of
- 8:53Speaker 1: that round the ninth that big right hand may have
- 8:56Speaker 1: stole it for Hergevic. But it was close, and I
- 8:58Speaker 1: thought Hergevic stronger. He landed the better shots from the tent.
- 9:03Speaker 1: So I had it seven to three, six to four,
- 9:07Speaker 1: something like that. The scorecards read ninety eight ywo ninety seven,
- 9:13Speaker 1: ninety three and ninety six ninety five. I believe it
- 9:16Speaker 1: was yeah, all for Hergevic, and yeah, I thought they
- 9:25Speaker 1: got it right, you know. And I just don't know
- 9:29Speaker 1: where Joe goes from here. To be honest, I really don't.
- 9:34Speaker 1: I'm not sad, you know, pack it up, you're worthless,
- 9:39Speaker 1: you know. But and it wasn't like a brutal loss
- 9:45Speaker 1: that I will say that. But it's kind of just
- 9:49Speaker 1: like where he's at because right now it doesn't even
- 9:54Speaker 1: feel like he has the confidence to knock somebody out
- 9:57Speaker 1: in the top ten. You know, maybe a fringe contender
- 10:01Speaker 1: he could he could knock out. But if fights like that,
- 10:07Speaker 1: you know, he just lost it to soa his age.
- 10:12Speaker 1: You know, I don't know. But Hergevic, like I said,
- 10:15Speaker 1: he looked good. He looked good. You're always gonna wonder
- 10:19Speaker 1: late in rounds if someone's really pressuring him and can
- 10:22Speaker 1: hurt him. Allah Daniel Dubois, you know, can he survive that?
- 10:30Speaker 1: I think that's a fair question, you know, I think
- 10:33Speaker 1: that's a fair question. And uh, we'll see. But Hergevic,
- 10:37Speaker 1: I thought he fought really well. You know, he only
- 10:39Speaker 1: took that one loss. He's got pop on his punches.
- 10:44Speaker 1: He has some pretty good wins. Obviously you got that
- 10:47Speaker 1: Zang win a while back. So I'm looking forward to see,
- 10:53Speaker 1: you know, his next fight, and we'll see who the
- 10:57Speaker 1: opponent is. Is it a step up from here? I
- 11:01Speaker 1: hope so, because you might as well find out where
- 11:04Speaker 1: you're at again, you know. But Hergevic, he was steady.
- 11:08Speaker 1: He was steady. He didn't overdo it, But would he
- 11:13Speaker 1: have He probably would have had to, you know, exert
- 11:17Speaker 1: himself more had someone really tried to force the fight
- 11:22Speaker 1: with him, you know, like I said, just like Daniel Dubois.
- 11:26Speaker 1: So we really don't know that part per se. As
- 11:31Speaker 1: far as him gassing out and stuff like that and
- 11:33Speaker 1: being able to take big punches back. He made it
- 11:38Speaker 1: through Zang, but Sang gassed out, you know, So that's
- 11:43Speaker 1: that played a huge part. But either way, very good performance,
- 11:48Speaker 1: got the job done. I'm just gonna kind of keep
- 11:54Speaker 1: it tight today that David Adelie had to win. There
- 12:00Speaker 1: was some you know, it was a sixth round TKO.
- 12:05Speaker 1: There was a little controversy with hitting you know, during
- 12:11Speaker 1: the clinch, during the break and the referee did say
- 12:14Speaker 1: break twice and all that, but earlier in the fight
- 12:20Speaker 1: that dude was doing it too, So I don't know,
- 12:28Speaker 1: you know, it's kind of like lived by the sword,
- 12:31Speaker 1: die by the sword, you know. For me to be
- 12:34Speaker 1: honest with you, I just think that a lot was made.
- 12:38Speaker 1: It was kind of like a like a Twitter clip.
- 12:43Speaker 1: I thought it was made up to be a little
- 12:45Speaker 1: bit more. And if you only look at that part,
- 12:48Speaker 1: you're like, wait a second, that was a cheap shot,
- 12:51Speaker 1: and sure, but the thing it was, but he did
- 12:55Speaker 1: some of that as well, right, And also we see
- 13:00Speaker 1: like you know, cheap shots, cheap shot excuse me, all
- 13:04Speaker 1: the time in boxing or low blows are hitting on
- 13:09Speaker 1: the hip or so yeah, it was a cheap shot,
- 13:12Speaker 1: but I saw it go both ways. It during the fight,
- 13:19Speaker 1: So I don't really think. I don't know, maybe they'll
- 13:22Speaker 1: be a rematch. I don't know. But either way, let's
- 13:26Speaker 1: move on. Abdula Mason got the job done. JAHI Tucker
- 13:31Speaker 1: beat Troy Williamson. A couple other results as well, but
- 13:36Speaker 1: I want to focus in on Torres Junior and Vianello,
- 13:40Speaker 1: and also Rodriguez and del Gatto. Let's start with Torres.
- 13:43Speaker 1: And like I said, I it's taken me a while.
- 13:45Speaker 1: I'm not even fully sold on Richard Torres Junior. But
- 13:51Speaker 1: he had a nice little walkout. I will say that
- 13:55Speaker 1: I'm a little set up at the piano and all that,
- 14:00Speaker 1: but I don't know. Like he is a rough and
- 14:04Speaker 1: rugged guy. He does know how to punch with his
- 14:07Speaker 1: free hand. It seems like he can take a pretty
- 14:10Speaker 1: good shot. We'll see, you know, ultimately, I think that'll
- 14:13Speaker 1: be clearly hit. The way he fights, his chin is
- 14:17Speaker 1: gonna have to hold up, and that's what I don't know.
- 14:23Speaker 1: But you know, not everybody's gonna fight like exactly the
- 14:29Speaker 1: way we want them to write. Some dudes are just
- 14:31Speaker 1: gonna be like a bulldog and that's their best way.
- 14:34Speaker 1: And then there's one hand free you hit him with
- 14:37Speaker 1: the hook and it surprises the guy, and you do
- 14:40Speaker 1: it again, and you know, in your rough house and
- 14:44Speaker 1: he's got to get on the inside somehow. I thought
- 14:46Speaker 1: that Vanello it does kind of force a clinch, It
- 14:51Speaker 1: does force defenders to do something, and it makes him
- 14:56Speaker 1: feel uncomfortable. A lot of times, I would just say
- 14:58Speaker 1: with Torres Junior, it's he does this is where the
- 15:02Speaker 1: Sean Porter stuff comes in the smothering his own work too.
- 15:08Speaker 1: So it's it's a fine line between being a bulldog
- 15:12Speaker 1: bullying somebody coming on the inside, no matter if they're
- 15:15Speaker 1: bigger than you or not, but then also smothering your
- 15:18Speaker 1: own work. So it's a work in progress. But I
- 15:21Speaker 1: give him credit for this fight because Vannello is a
- 15:24Speaker 1: good fighter. I thought the first round was very close,
- 15:28Speaker 1: could have went either way, but Vanella was holding already
- 15:33Speaker 1: in really quick holding call point deducted in the second round,
- 15:40Speaker 1: so it was a ten a round for me because
- 15:42Speaker 1: I thought that free hand during the clinch was landed
- 15:45Speaker 1: really well. In the third round, Torres Junior landed some
- 15:51Speaker 1: good shots on the inside, some short shots midway through
- 15:56Speaker 1: the round, though there was two clean clean lands and
- 16:00Speaker 1: a couple down the stretch enough for me to give
- 16:03Speaker 1: it to Viennello. The fourth round. You know, I thought
- 16:10Speaker 1: that Guido actually landed better overall. But what makes it
- 16:17Speaker 1: kind of a question mark is Torres did land a
- 16:22Speaker 1: big right hand in it. You could make the argument
- 16:25Speaker 1: it was the biggest land of the round. So do
- 16:29Speaker 1: you just a lot of people, you know, we'll just
- 16:34Speaker 1: give someone off of that, you know. But it wasn't
- 16:37Speaker 1: like pity pats coming from Viennello anyway. It's not like
- 16:40Speaker 1: jab pitty pats, shoeshining to the stomach or something and
- 16:45Speaker 1: then that's it and then one big punch. Oh that's
- 16:48Speaker 1: easy to get that round. So I think that's kind
- 16:51Speaker 1: of a swing round. I think the fifth round it
- 16:53Speaker 1: was a spirited round man, Vanello right hands with the jab.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Of course, a few big looping lands, a couple of
- 17:01Speaker 1: them could have went either way. So maybe with the
- 17:05Speaker 1: fourth and fifth you kind of lend it, you know,
- 17:07Speaker 1: blended to both guys. Sixth round I gave the Torres.
- 17:12Speaker 1: Seventh round, I gave the Vanello. Eighth round. I gave
- 17:16Speaker 1: to Torres those hard hooks up close, man, they they
- 17:20Speaker 1: were getting in left hooks. It was a left hook.
- 17:24Speaker 1: I think that hurt, you know, in an exchange late
- 17:27Speaker 1: in that eighth round. It was a left hook that
- 17:30Speaker 1: hurt Bianello and really the way he closed, I didn't
- 17:37Speaker 1: give him the seventh, but sixth round and on Torres
- 17:40Speaker 1: really took over this fight. Ninth round Torres early combinations,
- 17:46Speaker 1: a nice counter shot off the ropes from Viennello, but
- 17:49Speaker 1: more right hooks came through enough to give him that round.
- 17:55Speaker 1: And then the last part of the tenth like he
- 17:58Speaker 1: I thought he closed a little bit stronger, you know,
- 18:01Speaker 1: with combinations, so competitive fight. It was six floor tores
- 18:07Speaker 1: for me, two ninety eight ninety one in a ninety
- 18:10Speaker 1: seven ninety two. I didn't think ninety eight ninety one.
- 18:14Speaker 1: I will say that I didn't think it was eight
- 18:16Speaker 1: to two, So I didn't agree with that scorecard. But
- 18:24Speaker 1: I thought he won the fight from what he did,
- 18:27Speaker 1: you know, down the stretch, and so you know, I
- 18:33Speaker 1: thought I thought he won the fight fairly cleanly. Even
- 18:38Speaker 1: if it is six to four. It was like a
- 18:42Speaker 1: solid sex if that makes sense. So so yeah, I
- 18:47Speaker 1: gave Torres Junior that and like I said, continue at
- 18:50Speaker 1: this level of opponent and then you know, step it
- 18:55Speaker 1: up whatever, slowly, but surely however you want to do it.
- 18:59Speaker 1: But yeah, only I'm glad now that he you know,
- 19:06Speaker 1: showed a lot in this fight. He is starting to
- 19:10Speaker 1: convince me a little more. I got. I gotta admit
- 19:13Speaker 1: I'm coming around to him slowly, but I'm not. I'm
- 19:18Speaker 1: not sold on him just yet. But he's a fun
- 19:23Speaker 1: fighter to watch. And you know, h Porter, like I said,
- 19:30Speaker 1: Sean Porter kind of comes to mind. I think he
- 19:33Speaker 1: Porter has more tools by a little bit to me, honest,
- 19:40Speaker 1: And obviously he showed those tools even in competitive fights
- 19:44Speaker 1: win loss, when or long lose. He showed it on
- 19:50Speaker 1: a very high level. So I hate to try to
- 19:54Speaker 1: say he's as good as Porter, because in my opinion,
- 19:56Speaker 1: he's not. He's got to prove that. But you know,
- 20:01Speaker 1: it was some of the smothering, you know. And if
- 20:06Speaker 1: I get you know, if he fights someone that knows
- 20:08Speaker 1: how to fight on the inside, he might be the
- 20:10Speaker 1: one getting surprised with short shots. But either way, very
- 20:14Speaker 1: good win. I gotta give him credit. And that, by
- 20:17Speaker 1: the way, I did pick against him. I picked the upset.
- 20:20Speaker 1: Now I picked the upset in this next fight, and
- 20:25Speaker 1: I didn't get it, but I do think I should have,
- 20:30Speaker 1: Like that fucking matters right anyway. Delgado Rodriguez first and foremost,
- 20:37Speaker 1: Timothy Bradley was really bad in this fight as a broadcaster.
- 20:44Speaker 1: The broadcast in general was and there was a lot
- 20:50Speaker 1: of negativity about Elvis Rodriguez. And don't get he wrong.
- 20:54Speaker 1: When you watch him fight, he does hold back some stuff,
- 20:57Speaker 1: you know, there's no doubt about it. But the things,
- 21:02Speaker 1: it's like, he sets a narrative and then no matter what,
- 21:06Speaker 1: he's got to keep that narrative, even if before our
- 21:09Speaker 1: eyes it's not happening, or it is happening what he's
- 21:14Speaker 1: asking Elvis to do. What I need from Elvis, you know,
- 21:20Speaker 1: And it's like the second he does, you know, oh
- 21:22Speaker 1: he's falling it. You know. First of all, he was
- 21:24Speaker 1: falling in love with this certain punch that the left hand.
- 21:28Speaker 1: Right then he was falling in love with the right hook.
- 21:31Speaker 1: It's like, well, dude, did you just get done saying
- 21:35Speaker 1: he should stop throwing his left hands or at least
- 21:37Speaker 1: set it up better, Which that's fair, you know, that
- 21:41Speaker 1: part was fair, But it was like he's already addressed
- 21:45Speaker 1: to it, are you sure? Because he won that last round?
- 21:48Speaker 1: Like so anyway, I just had to say that a
- 21:53Speaker 1: lot of people, and I say this every time trying
- 21:55Speaker 1: to get my point acrosses. A lot of people didn't
- 21:58Speaker 1: like the way Tim Bradley fought. I did. I did
- 22:02Speaker 1: like that. I like a lot of different styles, and
- 22:05Speaker 1: I liked how he did his thing. I just didn't.
- 22:09Speaker 1: And he could box a little cleaner and a little
- 22:12Speaker 1: more strategic, and he showed it later in his career
- 22:17Speaker 1: and at times in his career, but later he did,
- 22:20Speaker 1: especially in that Marquess fight obviously, but as an announcer,
- 22:25Speaker 1: and we are dealing with even more biasedness, in platform
- 22:31Speaker 1: biasedness than we had previously what I had to do
- 22:36Speaker 1: with once HBO took over boxing, they were like the
- 22:39Speaker 1: tippy top and everyone's just trying to get to it.
- 22:43Speaker 1: Whereas now we had these we had these plat we
- 22:46Speaker 1: still have them, these platform deals, you know, so each
- 22:50Speaker 1: individual platform has their own issues with this. But I
- 22:54Speaker 1: just had to say it was a bad, bad night
- 22:56Speaker 1: for him. I did not. I thought it was relous.
- 23:00Speaker 1: What are you saying about Elvis at times? Because it
- 23:02Speaker 1: wasn't happening yet, and so I don't know, Like I said,
- 23:06Speaker 1: fall in love with your left hand? Du those a
- 23:08Speaker 1: bunch of right hooks? Oh, you can't just rely on
- 23:10Speaker 1: the right hook shut the anyway del Gatto, I thought
- 23:16Speaker 1: won the first round. A few nice jabs the right
- 23:20Speaker 1: hand to the body, but it was slow. There was
- 23:23Speaker 1: a late hook to the some late hooks i'd say,
- 23:27Speaker 1: say from Elvis to the body and head. But I
- 23:29Speaker 1: gave that to del Gatto. I gave the second round
- 23:33Speaker 1: to Rodriguez. Delgatto landed like a nice right hand to
- 23:38Speaker 1: the body in the chest. He did that throughout the fight.
- 23:42Speaker 1: But the jab nice left hand, and the left hand
- 23:46Speaker 1: was landing to the to the body and head as well.
- 23:48Speaker 1: So I gave him that. And del Gotta was doing
- 23:51Speaker 1: this this nice little thing, especially earlier in the fight,
- 23:55Speaker 1: of taking like a half a step back or to
- 23:59Speaker 1: the side, and then for his defense, you know, to
- 24:03Speaker 1: stay out of range, but not out of range to
- 24:05Speaker 1: punch to, you know. So he was ready to punch,
- 24:08Speaker 1: although he would take this little step back. It was
- 24:11Speaker 1: pretty effective there for a while. So I gave him
- 24:13Speaker 1: the third. The jabs, few body shots. There was a
- 24:17Speaker 1: flush left hand that Rodriguez landed late, but I don't
- 24:24Speaker 1: think it was enough. I did give Rodriguez the fourth
- 24:27Speaker 1: because the second half he was more active. He was
- 24:30Speaker 1: landing either a left hook or a straight left hand
- 24:34Speaker 1: or I should say, a straight left or a right hook,
- 24:39Speaker 1: So you know, it's two to two at that point.
- 24:43Speaker 1: I thought the fifth round was really really close, kind
- 24:47Speaker 1: of early to mid Delgado was landing a couple of
- 24:50Speaker 1: nice shots, but I did think that a couple nice
- 24:57Speaker 1: counters and body work just closing stronger in like the
- 25:03Speaker 1: second half of that fifth round. I thought it was
- 25:06Speaker 1: enough to give to Roderiguez, but it was close. That
- 25:09Speaker 1: was probably the closest round maybe of the fight, but
- 25:13Speaker 1: at least up until that point. Now, I gave it
- 25:16Speaker 1: right back to del Gatto though, the right hand to
- 25:19Speaker 1: the head and body, along with some hooks. So it's
- 25:22Speaker 1: three to three at the halfway point. And this is
- 25:25Speaker 1: where I just kind of saw it going Elvis's way.
- 25:33Speaker 1: The jab just being busier, I landed like a really
- 25:37Speaker 1: nice flush late left hand. I gave him Rodriguez the seventh.
- 25:43Speaker 1: I gave him the eighth to he was just more
- 25:45Speaker 1: a sort of assertive. He was pushing del Gatto back
- 25:49Speaker 1: a little bit. Ninth round, although del Gatto, you know,
- 25:54Speaker 1: did you know, do some stuff early in the second half.
- 25:58Speaker 1: Once again he picked up the pay nice right hook,
- 26:03Speaker 1: and I think it was a left hook that knocked. Now,
- 26:07Speaker 1: whether it was like off balance trip or just knocked
- 26:12Speaker 1: Delgado off balance, I didn't hear them talking too much
- 26:16Speaker 1: about this, but it could have made a case that
- 26:19Speaker 1: because there was a punch landed, that it could have
- 26:23Speaker 1: been a knockdown because he clearly held the rope. So
- 26:27Speaker 1: I didn't Once again, it was very bias towards Delgatto.
- 26:31Speaker 1: I thought they didn't even really like hone in on
- 26:38Speaker 1: it too much, and that that they got to stop
- 26:41Speaker 1: the fight and be like, this is a atrocity. And
- 26:44Speaker 1: you know, I remember on Friday Night fights today at
- 26:48Speaker 1: List after something would go wrong, he would just have
- 26:51Speaker 1: a monologue. I'm not saying that needed to happen, but
- 26:56Speaker 1: I thought that there was you know, it looked like
- 26:59Speaker 1: he held the rope and looked like a punch landed.
- 27:01Speaker 1: Now was there a little trip in there? Maybe was
- 27:04Speaker 1: he a little off balance? And got it was the
- 27:06Speaker 1: kind of off balanced slash trip slash you put yourself
- 27:09Speaker 1: in that position, so you you you were off balanced.
- 27:13Speaker 1: I think it's it's worth a discussion, but you know,
- 27:17Speaker 1: it is what it is. And then I gave the
- 27:21Speaker 1: jab in the right hand. I thought del Gatto closed better,
- 27:24Speaker 1: and I did think even you know, Bradley was right
- 27:28Speaker 1: in this one. But the way he was going it
- 27:31Speaker 1: was almost like, and this is why he's gonna lose
- 27:33Speaker 1: the fight. I didn't like how Elvis, you know, finished
- 27:37Speaker 1: that tenth round. I will say that you don't have
- 27:41Speaker 1: it in the bag, but it doesn't mean, well, you
- 27:46Speaker 1: didn't close strong, So forget all the rounds. You know,
- 27:50Speaker 1: let's just count that one. But the way you know,
- 27:53Speaker 1: so Bradley was talking about it, but it's not like
- 27:56Speaker 1: del Gatto was doing a whole lot either, you know,
- 27:59Speaker 1: so it was kinda kind of whatever give or a take.
- 28:03Speaker 1: But since I had it three three after six seven eight,
- 28:08Speaker 1: now you know, like I had it, I had it
- 28:11Speaker 1: six to four then you know, six four, five four one,
- 28:15Speaker 1: maybe five five. I could see a draw. I could
- 28:19Speaker 1: see a draw or maybe five four one. I don't
- 28:24Speaker 1: know if I can give six rounds. Let me see
- 28:29Speaker 1: three two more rounds down the stretch. Yeah, I don't know.
- 28:35Speaker 1: I mean five to five I'm cool with like that'd
- 28:39Speaker 1: be fine, you know what I mean. I could handle
- 28:42Speaker 1: five to five that that wouldn't be that that bad.
- 28:46Speaker 1: But I thought he only won passed the six. I
- 28:49Speaker 1: thought he only won the tenth round, so that's four
- 28:52Speaker 1: rounds now. Like I said, the fifth was closed, so
- 28:55Speaker 1: if I swing it his way, then it's five five.
- 28:59Speaker 1: But yeah, I can't I can't see six rounds. Really,
- 29:01Speaker 1: I didn't see six rounds. So one had at ninety
- 29:06Speaker 1: five ninety five, the other had two of them had
- 29:08Speaker 1: ninety six ninety four for so two of them had
- 29:10Speaker 1: six four. And to be fair, had Elvis finished strong
- 29:17Speaker 1: in that round, it would have been a draw because
- 29:22Speaker 1: you would have had two score cards. Theoretically, obviously one
- 29:27Speaker 1: would go his way, the draw would go his way,
- 29:29Speaker 1: and then there'd be two draw cards. So it would
- 29:33Speaker 1: have been a draw. Had he just finished strong like
- 29:36Speaker 1: he did. Maybe he felt well, shit the last three rounds,
- 29:41Speaker 1: you know, blah blah. I don't know. So that's where
- 29:43Speaker 1: I think you could say something about Elvis Rodger. Yes,
- 29:47Speaker 1: where you're like, that's kind of on you, dude. You
- 29:49Speaker 1: needed to finish that round better, the fight better and Jim.
- 29:54Speaker 1: But I still thought he won. And maybe I'm biased
- 29:57Speaker 1: because I did, you know, I bet on the Maybe
- 30:00Speaker 1: there's some biases there, And you know that's the thing
- 30:03Speaker 1: about Elvis Rodriguez is he leaves stuff on the table
- 30:08Speaker 1: and many other fighters do too. But it's just I
- 30:14Speaker 1: don't know. It's like the tenth round to fight the
- 30:18Speaker 1: way he did, it just doesn't make sense, you know,
- 30:22Speaker 1: it really doesn't make sense to me. I guess that
- 30:26Speaker 1: we see it plenty, but I just I don't know. Man.
- 30:30Speaker 1: It was a little a little shaky, little shaky, but
- 30:34Speaker 1: good fight, competitive fight. I would have been fine with
- 30:38Speaker 1: the draw, not not, you know, I'd have been fine
- 30:41Speaker 1: with it. That'd been just fine. But it is what
- 30:43Speaker 1: it is. Delgado, like I said, he did some good stuff.
- 30:48Speaker 1: I like his right hand in the body. He's got
- 30:52Speaker 1: a pretty good jab. Like I said, that little step
- 30:54Speaker 1: back move is pretty effective. But I just thought like
- 31:03Speaker 1: the better shots overall to me came from you know, Elvis.
- 31:12Speaker 1: I really did. I didn't think it was all that debatable,
- 31:18Speaker 1: but you know, it is what it is. What are
- 31:22Speaker 1: you gonna do? You know, what are you gonna do?
- 31:26Speaker 1: What were the Someone left a message for me. I
- 31:30Speaker 1: saw it and they asked what were the punch des
- 31:33Speaker 1: So I did? I did? See? So Elvis through four
- 31:40Speaker 1: hundred eight to three hundred three hundred punches in a
- 31:43Speaker 1: ten rounders not that much. Thirty round, they both they
- 31:49Speaker 1: both land into the body basically the same overall lands
- 31:54Speaker 1: ninety four to eighty nine, So that was really close.
- 31:57Speaker 1: The JAB favored you know, Elvis thirty three to twenty
- 32:04Speaker 1: sixty nine to sixty one as far as uh power punches,
- 32:09Speaker 1: and he was more accurate with his power punch and
- 32:11Speaker 1: more accurate overall. But that's what I'm saying, Like he
- 32:16Speaker 1: threw a lot less and he was the one kind
- 32:19Speaker 1: of coming forward in it. But I don't know, but
- 32:24Speaker 1: it was a competitive fight, and so you know, it's
- 32:28Speaker 1: hard for me to complain too much in boxing when
- 32:32Speaker 1: we get, you know, a competitive fight. And Shauna Beck won.
- 32:36Speaker 1: He knocked dude down in the first and the fifth
- 32:40Speaker 1: tko Jehanaviick, you know, like Geanabick right now, if you
- 32:46Speaker 1: look at the top four or five middleweights, you can
- 32:49Speaker 1: make an argument that he could beat them, all right,
- 32:54Speaker 1: And I think that's fair. I think he can make
- 32:57Speaker 1: that argument. I'm not giving him the you know, just
- 33:01Speaker 1: giving it to him, but I think I think you
- 33:03Speaker 1: can make that argument. But I guess the only thing
- 33:09Speaker 1: that always came with that was the boogeyman thing, like
- 33:12Speaker 1: everybody's duck in him and so that always kind of
- 33:14Speaker 1: turned me off in a sense because it's like, all right, dude,
- 33:19Speaker 1: like what are we doing here? You know, Like you know,
- 33:22Speaker 1: but I just hope he gets like a sizeable fight
- 33:26Speaker 1: this next time because he deserves it and we need
- 33:30Speaker 1: to see him at a higher level, you know. And
- 33:34Speaker 1: like I said, he definitely deserves it. So there was
- 33:38Speaker 1: also was it or or fought like he got some
- 33:48Speaker 1: decent rounds doing that on that Joy's card Murphy and Magid.
- 33:56Speaker 1: That was that was a good fight. That was a
- 33:58Speaker 1: good fight. The oh god, what was that other one?
- 34:06Speaker 1: Zara bec Zara bec and who's al That was a
- 34:10Speaker 1: good fight too. That was that was fun to watch.
- 34:16Speaker 1: But jelll off, Jela la la la la off. It's
- 34:25Speaker 1: I mean, his opponent level, it's just weak, and you
- 34:33Speaker 1: know this whole thing of like, you know, I don't know,
- 34:40Speaker 1: like he wants to try to go to the Olympics
- 34:44Speaker 1: in twenty twenty eight and it's just like I don't know, man,
- 34:49Speaker 1: I don't know who's running his career. Obviously he has
- 34:51Speaker 1: something to do with it too, but I don't know
- 34:55Speaker 1: who's given him that advice or like I said, I
- 34:58Speaker 1: can't just blame the advice, but it's it's disappointing to
- 35:03Speaker 1: say the leaf. So I don't know, Man Klomotov came
- 35:09Speaker 1: back to this weekend got like a stoppage victory. What
- 35:16Speaker 1: else I think besides the tim zoom trying to think
- 35:20Speaker 1: of some other Oh there was so there was also
- 35:31Speaker 1: there was also a little controversy about a reth moving
- 35:38Speaker 1: like pulling down on an arm of a fighter, and
- 35:43Speaker 1: then that fighter who uh he pulled the the arm
- 35:48Speaker 1: down from got hit. And I've never been a big
- 35:54Speaker 1: fan of them pulling down gloves and arms unless you're
- 35:59Speaker 1: doing it both. But I think just breaking it up,
- 36:03Speaker 1: like getting your arms in between him, it's probably the
- 36:05Speaker 1: better thing. And getting your body in there, don't get
- 36:09Speaker 1: me wrong. I mean, you know, like if they're big dudes,
- 36:15Speaker 1: that's a little different. You know, It's it's easy for
- 36:18Speaker 1: me to say, hey, dude, just get your body in there, bro.
- 36:23Speaker 1: But you know, I don't know, I'm not a big
- 36:28Speaker 1: fan of that here because I've seen this before too,
- 36:30Speaker 1: where a guy knocks a hand down and then it's
- 36:34Speaker 1: like all right, they just just tell him the hand
- 36:35Speaker 1: doown or make sure the fight stopped. And then I
- 36:40Speaker 1: don't know, I just when you do that, it was
- 36:43Speaker 1: it was just funny to see it like that where
- 36:45Speaker 1: dude gets his hand taken down and just gets hit
- 36:47Speaker 1: with a punch. Also on Pro Box, Moran beat Williams.
- 36:54Speaker 1: I think it was was it a split, I think
- 36:58Speaker 1: it was a majority. The majority almost positive about that.
- 37:05Speaker 1: So yeah, but Joela la all Off, it just I
- 37:11Speaker 1: don't know, man, I just I can't believe where his
- 37:16Speaker 1: career's at right now. Like it's it's it's also like,
- 37:22Speaker 1: why don't you drop his ass ten top rank? I
- 37:25Speaker 1: don't know, like if other people did this, you dropped
- 37:28Speaker 1: these mother efforts. I don't know. It's it's just it's frustrating.
- 37:32Speaker 1: I'll put it that way. It's frustrating. As you could
- 37:36Speaker 1: probably hear in my voice, it's a little frustrating. Okay,
- 37:39Speaker 1: So Tim Zoo needed to get a win, and that's
- 37:45Speaker 1: what he got. You know, the first round was very slow.
- 37:48Speaker 1: I thought it would be that way. Still pretty slow
- 37:51Speaker 1: in the second Zoo was, you know, able to land
- 37:56Speaker 1: his jab a little bit more. Both of them were
- 38:00Speaker 1: landing to the body in the third round, and you know,
- 38:07Speaker 1: like there was a couple Joey landed some good shots too,
- 38:14Speaker 1: but the mid round, about mid round third, some really
- 38:17Speaker 1: good combinations from Timsu. His jab was coming out real clean,
- 38:22Speaker 1: it was landing hard. In the last minute, he really
- 38:26Speaker 1: started putting it together. Landed a few right hands as well.
- 38:29Speaker 1: I did like the many men slashed down under song.
- 38:35Speaker 1: I can't remember what the did. I liked that little
- 38:40Speaker 1: combo pack by the way, Tim Zoo. But the fourth round, Spencer,
- 38:48Speaker 1: to his credit, landed a nice uppercut to the head
- 38:51Speaker 1: and then a left to the body, and then Tim
- 38:54Speaker 1: Zoo like he landed a combination that ended with a
- 38:59Speaker 1: left uppercut. He was starting to let his shots go,
- 39:02Speaker 1: like really go now, and he was getting the better
- 39:07Speaker 1: of this exchange that was going on, and you could
- 39:10Speaker 1: see pretty dramatically Spencer's eye was swelling up, swelling, bruised,
- 39:17Speaker 1: kind of combination, lots of combinations for tim Zoo, and
- 39:23Speaker 1: it was like the ref was looking in. There was
- 39:26Speaker 1: a flurry, flurry, flurry. Spencer did throw a punch back.
- 39:29Speaker 1: Then the ref was kind of looking in again and
- 39:31Speaker 1: there was combinations and it's like, dude, do something. He
- 39:34Speaker 1: kind of pushed him away. Spencer did to zoo and
- 39:39Speaker 1: then more combinations, and at that point it was a
- 39:43Speaker 1: t KL and Joey just kind of walked. It looked
- 39:50Speaker 1: like honestly, it kind of looked like the end of
- 39:52Speaker 1: the round. Kind of looked like the end of the round.
- 39:55Speaker 1: He's just like, all right, end of the round. I'm
- 39:57Speaker 1: going back, you know. So you know, it was a
- 40:05Speaker 1: good win. Like I said, Joey's more of a fringe guy.
- 40:08Speaker 1: It's not some kind of like, oh bro, the number
- 40:11Speaker 1: one guy in the division, the number one of the
- 40:13Speaker 1: guy saying timsu it has to be decided and so
- 40:18Speaker 1: now it appears in July, Keith Thurman and him are
- 40:23Speaker 1: gonna fight. Now. It would be nice if it because
- 40:26Speaker 1: it sounds like they want to do it in Australia.
- 40:28Speaker 1: If they're gonna do it in Australia, you know, if
- 40:32Speaker 1: the timing lines up fairly well, if you do it
- 40:35Speaker 1: at the right time over there as a tennis fan
- 40:39Speaker 1: watching the Australian Open, you know, past midnight here, So
- 40:47Speaker 1: if they started a little earlier, it lines up, you know.
- 40:50Speaker 1: But if it's in Australia and they run it it's
- 40:56Speaker 1: a little late, let's say, like I don't know, is
- 41:01Speaker 1: that gonna be a pay per view because their first
- 41:04Speaker 1: fight was lined up as a pay per view, right man.
- 41:11Speaker 1: I it'd be great if they could find a wayte
- 41:13Speaker 1: especially since it's an Australia, to keep this up pay
- 41:16Speaker 1: per view. But I wonder, I wonder if they will
- 41:21Speaker 1: be able to do that. We know it's gonna be
- 41:25Speaker 1: pay per view in Australia. A lot of the fights
- 41:28Speaker 1: over there are pay per view, but I don't have
- 41:32Speaker 1: any numbers or anything. I haven't heard any numbers or
- 41:36Speaker 1: anything like that, but I don't know. It'd be nice
- 41:40Speaker 1: if they could just have that on Amazon straight up.
- 41:44Speaker 1: But until I see it, I'm not gonna believe that
- 41:49Speaker 1: that's the case just yet. But it's a good fight,
- 41:53Speaker 1: you know. Keith Thurman looked good. You know. Let's just
- 41:57Speaker 1: hope he can get through this next camp and get
- 42:00Speaker 1: through it without an injury, you know, knock on some wood.
- 42:03Speaker 1: But let's hope that's the case because I think that,
- 42:08Speaker 1: you know, press conference wise and all that it would be.
- 42:10Speaker 1: It'd be a good one. And you know, Thurman, the
- 42:15Speaker 1: way he fights, the style in which he fights, can
- 42:19Speaker 1: definitely give Tim Zus some problems, you know, and if
- 42:25Speaker 1: he does get hit with some big shots up top,
- 42:30Speaker 1: because you assume Thurman can do that at least. How
- 42:35Speaker 1: will he react to those big shots. Will it put
- 42:40Speaker 1: him in a shell, Will it have him being more
- 42:43Speaker 1: conservative or responsible, or to a point where it hurts
- 42:49Speaker 1: his his his output. I don't know, but I like
- 42:55Speaker 1: to fight. I think it's a good fight. It's a
- 42:57Speaker 1: it's still a solid name to get on your resume.
- 43:02Speaker 1: But yeah, I hope you know, the first time they
- 43:05Speaker 1: did it, I felt like it was a combination of, yeah,
- 43:09Speaker 1: this isn't a pay per view fight, but they might
- 43:12Speaker 1: be just working out the kinks too because of some
- 43:14Speaker 1: of the fights that had coming up. But now here
- 43:17Speaker 1: we are. You know, Tim Zu took back to back losses.
- 43:21Speaker 1: One of them was a knockout. I don't know. I
- 43:25Speaker 1: don't know. Maybe it's just wishful thinking that I'd want
- 43:30Speaker 1: it not on pay per view, but if it is
- 43:33Speaker 1: on pay per view from a hardcore perspective, I really
- 43:38Speaker 1: want him to stack that card obviously, but a good win.
- 43:42Speaker 1: Like I said, this was just a good win for
- 43:44Speaker 1: him to get back. Nothing crazy, not overdoing it, but
- 43:50Speaker 1: he's right there in the mix and the combination of
- 43:54Speaker 1: well older veteran guys like a Thurman and a couple
- 43:57Speaker 1: other guys out there, obviously Jermal Charlow and some others,
- 44:02Speaker 1: and then guys that are right in their prime are
- 44:04Speaker 1: about to hit their prime, like one fifty four is
- 44:06Speaker 1: just it's ready to go, dude, And there's so many
- 44:10Speaker 1: fights that can be made. So let's hope that this
- 44:13Speaker 1: one thing really Since what they had that triple header,
- 44:17Speaker 1: one fifty four pound triple header, I think it was
- 44:20Speaker 1: twenty sixteen, and ever since then, man, that division has
- 44:24Speaker 1: just given us such great fights, major upsets, rematches, it's
- 44:34Speaker 1: been the whole gamut. So it's really paid off, and
- 44:39Speaker 1: hopefully it keeps paying up. Man, just match them up
- 44:41Speaker 1: and the fightles will do the rest and this type
- 44:44Speaker 1: of thing. But there, yeah, there's a lot of good
- 44:46Speaker 1: fighters in there, and we'll see. I mean, you know,
- 44:52Speaker 1: maybe he'd fight Fondora next, you know, I don't know.
- 44:58Speaker 1: I mean, you'd like to think that Dora would be
- 45:00Speaker 1: able to, you know, be able to fight him because
- 45:07Speaker 1: he had a he didn't take long in his fight either,
- 45:10Speaker 1: so he would probably be ready by then. So I
- 45:15Speaker 1: would say Thurman or Fandora as the two that I'd
- 45:18Speaker 1: like to see him fight next and then we'll take
- 45:21Speaker 1: it from there. So we got a really good fight
- 45:28Speaker 1: coming up Atlantic City. Gotta love it, right, Gotta love
- 45:31Speaker 1: seeing Atlantic City get some big fights and Ennison Stantonius,
- 45:38Speaker 1: this is a good, good fight. Like I said, Karen,
- 45:42Speaker 1: Karen was able to although the scorecards won't won't like
- 45:51Speaker 1: tell that story. Karen was able to give him a
- 45:55Speaker 1: lot of tough rounds within the round type stuff, and
- 45:59Speaker 1: he'd lands did a fair amount of shots. You know,
- 46:02Speaker 1: he really did, and when you look at it, you
- 46:09Speaker 1: know it was a clean win by Boots. I'm not
- 46:12Speaker 1: saying that I didn't have a sixty six or whatever,
- 46:14Speaker 1: but like one hundred and seventy three punches at thirty,
- 46:19Speaker 1: he landed at a higher percentage. Didn't land as much,
- 46:23Speaker 1: but he did land at a higher percentage if you
- 46:25Speaker 1: look at overall, Ennis was really busy in that second fight.
- 46:28Speaker 1: The fight itself was way better to just off the
- 46:31Speaker 1: pace of it and everything. The first fight kind of sucked,
- 46:34Speaker 1: and a lot of that had to do with Karen too.
- 46:36Speaker 1: Some of that had to do with Ennis not able
- 46:38Speaker 1: to cut off the ring, but a lot of had
- 46:39Speaker 1: to do with Karen. Whereas both of them were more
- 46:42Speaker 1: active in this than that rematch. So he out threw
- 46:46Speaker 1: them by over two hundred punches right, and then he
- 46:50Speaker 1: landed two twenty four to one seventy three, but one
- 46:52Speaker 1: seventy three matching the body shots, but one seventy three
- 47:00Speaker 1: thirty three clip. That's a high rate to get hit with, right,
- 47:07Speaker 1: and he was right there with the jab. It was
- 47:09Speaker 1: just the power punchers really and the you know, so
- 47:14Speaker 1: and Karen also did some good work with the jab
- 47:21Speaker 1: to the stomach so and in fact, both like and
- 47:27Speaker 1: then if you look at the toughest fight was Biev
- 47:31Speaker 1: right Forrestantonius and that was kind of a similar where
- 47:35Speaker 1: people were, you know, it was a clear win in
- 47:39Speaker 1: my opinion. I know there was a split decision, but
- 47:41Speaker 1: I didn't see that. And if you look at like,
- 47:45Speaker 1: you know, the punch stats, two twenty two landed to
- 47:49Speaker 1: one right now sixty four to thirty five Biev or
- 47:54Speaker 1: Biev like that was body shots that was impressive, the
- 48:01Speaker 1: jab and the power shots overall, he you know, he
- 48:05Speaker 1: landed him and stuff like that, and he was more accurate,
- 48:08Speaker 1: he was more efficient and all that. But it was
- 48:12Speaker 1: a good it was a good fight very good fight,
- 48:16Speaker 1: so and there's some repeatable things I think on both
- 48:21Speaker 1: sides of that. Now, Karen, you know Instantonius does they
- 48:30Speaker 1: do fight different obviously, but you know, of course you
- 48:34Speaker 1: could say that Aboutev and Butev. Is that what it is?
- 48:42Speaker 1: You know, same with he doesn't fight the same with
- 48:45Speaker 1: the Nis. But I like this Fike man, and you know,
- 48:50Speaker 1: it's kind of up to like what Ennis wants to do.
- 48:55Speaker 1: Like if he engaged in the inside stuff like he
- 49:02Speaker 1: has a habit of doing, but he limits it within rounds,
- 49:08Speaker 1: then I think he can win thisight very cleanly. But
- 49:12Speaker 1: that's generally not how he fights. He likes to get
- 49:16Speaker 1: He likes to tussle in the amount of left hands,
- 49:19Speaker 1: the left hook, the jab, the left upper cup. But
- 49:23Speaker 1: really the jab and the left hook from Stantonis standionis
- 49:30Speaker 1: it's pretty damn good. And I do think Boots has
- 49:33Speaker 1: the handspeed advantage, and he definitely, you know, on paper,
- 49:40Speaker 1: has the power to hit him with the big clip
- 49:45Speaker 1: and so or to clip him with something. I mean,
- 49:47Speaker 1: that's the one thing about it. Obviously, if they're going
- 49:52Speaker 1: to engage in like a brawl at times and they're
- 49:56Speaker 1: really going to go for it, well, whether it's a
- 49:59Speaker 1: counter or just a cleaner, shorter, more accurate shot from Boots,
- 50:03Speaker 1: he could definitely like hurt Stanonius and knock him out
- 50:08Speaker 1: or at least put him down. So but then again,
- 50:12Speaker 1: if you fight for too long like that, it also
- 50:15Speaker 1: exposes you. And like I said, it's like his defense
- 50:19Speaker 1: is is kind of shaky, Like both of them are
- 50:22Speaker 1: great defenders. You know, it's a fairly high, tight guard
- 50:30Speaker 1: that's pretty responsible from Stanioni's Boots sometimes will be in
- 50:38Speaker 1: the show, sometimes just Roy Jones hands down, relying on
- 50:41Speaker 1: the head and upper body movement one time. Sometimes it's
- 50:44Speaker 1: like his lead hand that's just sitting there up there
- 50:47Speaker 1: pretty high, which exposes you to So it'll be interesting
- 50:53Speaker 1: to see if Boots uses more strategy in this fight
- 50:58Speaker 1: and not just figuring out per se, but literally uses
- 51:03Speaker 1: the length, let's say, because according to box Wreck anyway,
- 51:07Speaker 1: seventy four to sixty eight inch reach. We know Stanonius
- 51:10Speaker 1: is gonna come forward, but he doesn't just aggressively come
- 51:14Speaker 1: forward out of nowhere and throw a bunch of punches.
- 51:17Speaker 1: You know, he does kind of inch by inch move forward,
- 51:22Speaker 1: but he's not an overly aggressive guy. So lateral movement,
- 51:26Speaker 1: using his jab, looking for the counter punch, boxing on
- 51:31Speaker 1: the outside at the start at least while they both
- 51:36Speaker 1: get established and all that, and throughout, maybe you, like
- 51:39Speaker 1: I said, maybe you do get the better of an exchange,
- 51:43Speaker 1: and if you do, I'm sure he'd sit there in
- 51:45Speaker 1: the pocket more right. But sometimes I think he just
- 51:49Speaker 1: got to use his length as well, you know, And
- 51:53Speaker 1: this is a good opponent to use it on, because
- 51:56Speaker 1: then Stanonius is going to have to try to, you know,
- 52:02Speaker 1: try to cut off the ring and set up shop
- 52:04Speaker 1: and you know, he's not able to plant his feet
- 52:09Speaker 1: and turn his hips and you know whatever. Put out
- 52:12Speaker 1: the cigarette. But like I think it'd be an advantage,
- 52:16Speaker 1: you know. But yeah, the high guard can be attacked,
- 52:21Speaker 1: no doubt about it. Standionis is, but the defense is inconsistent,
- 52:28Speaker 1: you know, especially with the left hand from Ennis. Like
- 52:31Speaker 1: the left hand, like I said, the jab and left hook,
- 52:34Speaker 1: and I'm sure he'd add like an upper cut in
- 52:37Speaker 1: there too. But stanny Onis then he's got a good
- 52:40Speaker 1: jab and a good left hook, so that'll be interesting
- 52:43Speaker 1: to see what he can do there. Like I said,
- 52:46Speaker 1: it solid jab and whatnot. But he does have a
- 52:49Speaker 1: fall a habit of falling in with his punches or
- 52:54Speaker 1: staying in front, you know, and talk about Ennis staying
- 52:57Speaker 1: in front for too long. Well, same with Stanionis, you know,
- 53:01Speaker 1: because he can't do that either because Ennis will just
- 53:04Speaker 1: pick him apart. So I do think Ennis has the
- 53:08Speaker 1: full capability to jab and CounterPunch for a good portion
- 53:11Speaker 1: of this fight. And when you look at angles, especially offensively,
- 53:18Speaker 1: I think that's a key too, and both men use them,
- 53:21Speaker 1: but I'd say Stanionis when it comes to offensively landing
- 53:25Speaker 1: a couple of punches and using an angle to get
- 53:27Speaker 1: around the other side and be kind of a moving,
- 53:30Speaker 1: moving target, you know, can be effective. You know, Boots
- 53:37Speaker 1: has his own footwork problems, but he's more than capable
- 53:41Speaker 1: of using angles and pivoting as well. That's something that
- 53:44Speaker 1: I think if he win Staniois stani Ois does that
- 53:49Speaker 1: that pivot or that angle pivot type thing, He'll need
- 53:53Speaker 1: to match that, you know. And then I just think
- 53:58Speaker 1: overall though, like I don't know, I think that he's
- 54:07Speaker 1: gonna attack the body Boots, because Boutia definitely did. He
- 54:11Speaker 1: was very effective at that, like I mentioned, and you know,
- 54:18Speaker 1: whether it's like a looping around house shots to get
- 54:21Speaker 1: around at times, to target you know, that high guard.
- 54:24Speaker 1: I think Boots is capable of that. I think overall
- 54:27Speaker 1: Boots is the more versatile, better hand speed. Not that
- 54:34Speaker 1: Stanonius can't counter, because he can, but overall, I think
- 54:40Speaker 1: that you're gonna see more of that from Ennis, and
- 54:45Speaker 1: so I do think Boots will win. That's not going
- 54:49Speaker 1: out on the limb or anything like that. But you know,
- 54:53Speaker 1: I don't think i'd put money straight up on like
- 55:00Speaker 1: Instantonious to win, right, I don't think i'd do that,
- 55:05Speaker 1: because let's see what that's at right now? Check quick?
- 55:11Speaker 1: Do it is? Yeah? Plus four sixty plus four twenty
- 55:20Speaker 1: five plus three three thirty three, well plus five hundred.
- 55:27Speaker 1: Also Raymond Ford, who I really like to watch. He's
- 55:30Speaker 1: returning against Tomas Patillas, so something to look out there for.
- 55:39Speaker 1: But yeah, it so, I don't think i'd put money
- 55:43Speaker 1: on him straight up, like on the money line. If
- 55:47Speaker 1: I was looking for a plus number, this is what
- 55:50Speaker 1: I would do. So I think now I heard that
- 55:53Speaker 1: hold on, I just I just heard that he standing
- 55:57Speaker 1: on has missed the flight? Was that yesterday though? Or today? Ye? Yesterday? Right?
- 56:01Speaker 1: So he just so he's there. It's not like this
- 56:06Speaker 1: is in a different country or something like that. So
- 56:08Speaker 1: he's there, he's still there, So he just missed the
- 56:13Speaker 1: press conference, right, I think that's what it was. So
- 56:17Speaker 1: I'm looking at, for instance, like people that don't live
- 56:20Speaker 1: in states that where it's legal, like my bookie. Right,
- 56:24Speaker 1: not the best site, of course, but just looking at it,
- 56:27Speaker 1: plus four to ten, the over is minus two o
- 56:33Speaker 1: sixty under his plus more than forty five. It's ten
- 56:35Speaker 1: and a half under. But what I mean by if
- 56:40Speaker 1: I was gonna bet, and I'm going to, but if
- 56:44Speaker 1: I'm gonna bet on both fighters, but you're gonna try to,
- 56:47Speaker 1: you don't have to put a big amount on Stantonius.
- 56:51Speaker 1: Here's the thing. So by decision he's a plus eight
- 56:55Speaker 1: ten on my bookie, and by knockout he's a plus nine,
- 57:03Speaker 1: so eight to one and almost ten to one. So
- 57:06Speaker 1: if you put a very little amount on those two,
- 57:10Speaker 1: I think it's probably a It just makes more sense
- 57:14Speaker 1: than a plus four. So four to one, eight to
- 57:17Speaker 1: one or ten to one, what you know what I mean?
- 57:22Speaker 1: And then you could back it up. Now, if you
- 57:24Speaker 1: think Ennis is gonna win my knockout, it's a plus
- 57:27Speaker 1: one forty four, right, now okay, But by decision is
- 57:32Speaker 1: a minus one twenty one, which I would much rather
- 57:36Speaker 1: put money because if you just bet enis overall it's
- 57:41Speaker 1: minus six ninety nine, you know, so you have to
- 57:44Speaker 1: put a lot of money down just to even get anything.
- 57:47Speaker 1: Whereas once again you could I guess you could cover both.
- 57:51Speaker 1: You could sit knockout or decision, I guess, but I
- 57:55Speaker 1: think Ennis is gonna win by decision, and so that
- 57:58Speaker 1: plus one twenty one one is look minus I'm sorry,
- 58:01Speaker 1: minus one twenty one is looking pretty good because then
- 58:04Speaker 1: you could make some money off of that. And then
- 58:08Speaker 1: sure it's cutting into some of your wins, but the
- 58:13Speaker 1: little amount you'd have to put on on an eight
- 58:15Speaker 1: to one and ten to one, you know, I think
- 58:18Speaker 1: it's worth it at that point. But I do think
- 58:21Speaker 1: it'll be by decision. Boots should be a spirited fight.
- 58:29Speaker 1: I'm definitely looking forward to it. It's it's gonna be
- 58:31Speaker 1: a good, good, good fight. Let's see here. So that's
- 58:41Speaker 1: about it as far as the breakdown I'm gonna do here.
- 58:48Speaker 1: I do want to talk about a couple other things.
- 58:50Speaker 1: Obviously we now know with without a shocker or anything
- 58:56Speaker 1: like that, that Dmitri vivol Bivil you know, dropped his belt,
- 59:04Speaker 1: dropped his belt and said that he's gonna fight the
- 59:08Speaker 1: trilogy in October instead of going to purs Bid. Now,
- 59:18Speaker 1: like I said, this is no surprise, and I have
- 59:23Speaker 1: seen a mixed thing on this. So if you just
- 59:30Speaker 1: don't want to see those two fight again, like the
- 59:34Speaker 1: first two fights were really competitive. Were they great? Great
- 59:38Speaker 1: spirited fights? Not necessarily no, but they were very competitive
- 59:44Speaker 1: and they were fight at a fairly high level if
- 59:46Speaker 1: you ask me, not a brawl, but two you know,
- 59:52Speaker 1: highly skilled guys. Better Be gets that cave man thing
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: because he I mean, let's be honest, you know, but look,
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: skin be deceiving, right, So it is what it is. Now,
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: if that's the thing that you just you just you're
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: sick of watching that style, you'd think, I'm not anticipating
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: the third fight at all. Now, Better Be of is aging.
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: It's not a fight I want to watch. That's cool.
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: That's your own opinion, you know, that's your own opinion,
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: but it is still for lineal. So do I think
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: Dimitri Bival is ducking Benvitez for taking the better BA fight, No,
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: I do not. I think it's more of a biased thing.
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: If you think he's ducking them, I think it's just
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: biased towards Benavidez. Now it sucks for Benavidez. Most people
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: didn't think val was gonna win that fight. A lot
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: of people that you know, from what I saw anyway,
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: including myself, thought that Baturbiev would better be able to
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: say it right and then we'd get the fight with him,
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: and that the absolute war with him and Benavidez. And
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: so I think people are kind of mad that we
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: didn't get that fight. And I get that because that stylistically,
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: that's crazy. That's a crazy fight and by the way,
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: it might still happen, you never know. But to say
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: he's ducking him, that's where you lose me, because it
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: does suck for David Benavidez. Canelo clearly ducked him, right.
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: I have a lot of respect for Canelo. His resume
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: speaks for itself. But clearly he ducked him, clearly, There's
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: just no way around it. But this is not a
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: duck like he lost the first fight, won the second fight.
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: It's for the linear like now once whoever wins that fight,
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: and I hate to say it back on would but
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: David Menie his little streak of unluckiness as far as
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: getting a big fight, even though he's gotten a lot
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: of solid fights. Though you know, watch the trilogy, is
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: gonna be a draw that would just suck. Like I said, knocking,
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: I hope that doesn't happen. But let's see what happens
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: with the winner. They say it's gonna happen in October.
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: Whoever wins, then I'm going to put pressure on and
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: then I'll say, all right, forget the IBF. Forget the
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: IBF if you're going to face the best fight in
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: the division off a lineal and they've already had two,
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: so it's only right, I mean, so better Be it
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: was undefeated, right, and then he beat Bival, then he
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: takes one loss and now it's a duck that you know,
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: the volt's not fighting, but better Be deserves that rematch
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: due the trilogy should happen, It's fine, but after the
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: trilogy then what And I don't want to if you
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: got rid of the WBC, not to fight Benavitez and
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: to fight the trilogy, cool, but don't go looking to
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: take an IBF fight either, whoever wins. I don't want
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: to hear shit about the IBF. Drop that thing. If
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: that's what it takes. Dropping who cares time to face
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: benefit is now Benavidez. You know, it does sound like
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: he's gonna be back in the summer. My guess would
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: be late summer. But that's just a guess who's he
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: gonna fight. A lot of people think Calliam Smith, you
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: know maybe, and someone sent me the ratings for the WBC,
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: and you know the introim there's like a silver. You
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: know how that goes, Dude, there's an intrum, there's a silver,
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: there's an international, right, but clearly I don't know. Maybe
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: maybe they'll call the silver and say, hey, now he's
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: in trum. The silver's intrum, and that's you got to
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: take on Willie Hutchinson. I don't know. But the reason
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: why it goes better be of David Morrell, Albert Ramirez,
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: voushtik Watsei, Connor Wallace Hutchinson seventh, although he's the silver,
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: Anthony Yard, who's got a fight coming up, Zach Parker, Whittaker, whatever. Right,
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: The reason why KELLEYM. Smith is not there is because
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: he's the intrum WBO. So that's why he's not ranked
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: in the WBC or the WBO as far as the
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: ranking spark or the other ones. Right, So that's what
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: it is. So my question is will because Calliam Smith?
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: You know this this the canyon. Most people are like, oh,
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: Calliam Smith is next for Benevidea's yeah, sign me up.
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: I would love that fight. But politics may run run
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: in the way. You know, the people around him may
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: advise him to be like, hey, dude, you're in a
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: good spot. You'll be called the mandatory at some point.
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: Or hey, if Yard win, Yard wins, let's match you
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: up with him and you can wait and try to
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: go after the trilogy winner. So now, what about a
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: scenario it's a two fight deal or maybe three fight
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: because of a reimagine there. Wonder if they say, okay,
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: we're gonna do the trilogy, but if we make mena Vidius,
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: Callia and Smith, it has to be in Sadi, but
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: we we guarantee you because you can't really guarantee fights obviously,
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: especially here. That's part of the Ali Act. But it's
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: Sadi and it's the UK that's not a guaranteed thing
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: over there either, So you know, promises and all that.
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: I don't know, you know, I really don't. I don't know.
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: But if he could beat Kellium Smith and then get
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: that trilogy and both of them have been Sadi, that
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: is a little rough. But would it be worth it?
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: You know? I don't know. I mean I think if
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: they did that fight in Vegas with him and Kelly Smith,
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: I think a decent amount of UK fans have come over,
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: to be honest with you, So I think that could
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: be a big fight in Vegas. But it is what
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: it is. I will say this though, speaking of Sadi.
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: If the trilogy happens and the only way they'll give
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: you the fight is going to Sadi, I've it'll hold
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: firm on that that. That's what I would do. Shit,
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: even if you lose, You're you're losing in front of
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: a small audience, you know. Really, So I don't know.
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: I mean, I still think it'd be worth it, though,
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: I do have to admit I still think it'd be
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: worth it. Like for sure, I think it'd be well
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: worth it to go over there and just get it in. Now,
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: the WBC came out and talked about the numbers, and
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: I'm not gonna go off with the WBC says about
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: numbers like in general, it could definitely be skewed and
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: you know all that shit, right, So they made it
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: sound like that. So the offer sounds it does sound
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: like they offered them real money to fight, though, I
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: will say that like I thought that was the case,
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: but now we have enough people talking about it that
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: I do deem that true. But the thing is, you know,
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: Maurisio came out and said that his purse for his
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: last fight against better Bee was two point seven million.
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: Now that's not what's been reported. No, I have heard
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: it was. I've heard it. This is the third different
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: perse I've heard for that. You know, I've heard five, well, fourth,
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: I've heard five, seven and a half, and then I've
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: heard ten. So the first time I'm hearing two point
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: seven and it's coming from Mauricio, So I really don't
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: know that. But he did say they turned down eight million,
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: and Eddie Hearn that was reported before Mariso said it,
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: but Eddie Hearn it made it in an IFL TV video.
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: He confirmed, Yeah, we did turned down an eight million,
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: But he said, we made a promise we got the rematch,
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: we'd better be able. We made a promise if we win,
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: we'll give you the trilogy. That's fair. Now. One thing
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: he did say, Eddie Hearn in that ifl TV interview
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: said we don't we turned down the eight mil, Yeah,
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: but we don't care if it was twenty mil, we
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: would have turned it down. Now in Saudi. In the
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: UK it's different. But like if you look at how
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: Canelo got out of his deal, they weren't willing to
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: give him the same amount of money someone was willing
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: to give him to fight, you know, to do a fight.
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: This is right, you know, in the COVID period memory
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: he got off his contract. It was it's two different things. Actually,
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: he got off his contract first, you know, because of
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: you know, a dispute with Oscar. But overall, he could
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: also make the case of hey, dude, I'm getting offered
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: this amount of money for this fight, so you gotta
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: let me take the highest bidder. So for him to
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: say I don't care if it was twenty million here,
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: that's that that would be kind of bullshit and that
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: would be pretty much illegal because if if Bivil wanted
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: that twenty mil, you know, it's up to your handlers
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: to say, well, that's the biggest money possible. So there
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: is a dispute between all that, of course, but if
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: it was twenty million, even take the fight and say really,
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: but that just goes to show you that, you know,
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: they mean business with Benavitez and trying to get him
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: an opponent. It sounds like they offered him eight mil.
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: That's good ass money, dude. I don't know if they
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: could make a profit of Bivil and Benavitez if they
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: paid him eight mil. I don't know about that, but
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: either way, you know, we'll see how this goes. But
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: I don't I'd have to hear more about that two
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: point seven mil. Let's put that way. So I don't
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: know who David benavite is gonna fight Yard or Calliam Smith.
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: I wouldn't doubt if that's the fight they make them
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: Smith and Yard. I hope, not hopefully, that money that
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: they would offer to Callium would be good enough to
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: keep him away from that. And because that's a good
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: ass fight, Calliam Smith. Uh, and you know, and benevite
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: isn't they get the winner gets the trilogy winner? That
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: would work for me. He Sean Davis Edwin de los
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: Santo's talks fall off. Here's kind of something interesting because
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: they said, you know, he wouldn't take it for two
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: hundred thousand dollars, so he wanted more right, and Moretti
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: Top Rank said him double that right, but then Edwin
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: de los Santos said, now look at this. I I
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: didn't even know there was four hundred thousand offer. My
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: promoter offered me two hundred and twenty five thousand, So
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: that that gets a little funky. I don't know. I
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: would have to know what he made for Shakur and
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: go from there. I'm not saying you get the same
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: exact money as you get with short That's not what
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: I'm saying. But I would have to know what that is.
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: So June seventh, Northfolk is what Keishon's date for Top Rank.
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: Looks like they're gonna have to move on and we'll
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: see what what's next for de los Santo's what fight
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: does he have that's just as good as that or better?
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: You know, because that's how a lot of that stuff goes.
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: Here's some interesting news. The WBC officially ordered schakor Stephenson
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: and is the paid of the two sides that have
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: until May sixth to negotiate a deal before it goes
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: to pur spit Coppinger added the Ring Magazine story right,
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: he said he's he was told the w WBC is
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: still determining the purse split. Golden Boy Promotions asked the
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: WBC for a more favorable fifty five to forty five split.
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: What but hopefully that just because I honestly hopefully it
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: gets it made off of that, because I wasn't sold
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: that they were just going to, you know, give give
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: Zippota the Shukur fight, because styles make fights, as we know,
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: and that's just not a good style. Fore so hopefully
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: that that get made. That get gets made. That was
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: the fight that was supposed to happen in the fall,
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: then it was supposed to happen next, and blah blah blah.
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: Hopefully it happens next, just to just to get some
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: more you know, like clarification at the weight class and
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: some separation. Also Ring Magazine, No surprise here, June fourteenth,
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: at the Theater at Madison Square Garden, Richardson Hitchens and
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: George Cambosas I guess said, no surprise, it is what
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: it is. I did see this from brunch Boxing on
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: the on the Twitter shouts out to brunch Boxing. Tappyr
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: Promotion pulls pulls fighters from Saturdays I see US boxing
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: event due to significant financial instability and ethnical concerns regarding
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: event funding. Yeah, guys like Mendoza, Diego Sanchez. So yeah,
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: that's interesting, interesting to say the least. On that, let's
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: see her. What are some Oh and then pet so
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: but Checko and and Billy's not gonna happen. They pulled
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: out of it. This is Dani Rafael person source involved.
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: Pacheco pulled out of the purse bid because mattrom is
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: planning a summer fight for him against Trevor McCombe. The
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: thing is, if you're gonna get involved in this stuff,
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: why let it get to the purse bit and be like,
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: you know what, we're not gonna go. I don't know.
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: I know it's a form of negotiation, of course, but
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: like I don't know, man, you know, it's kind of
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: like Pacheco. I don't know. I really don't know what's
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: up with that. I you know, Pacheco's young, and a
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: lot of people are saying they don't want to match
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: them with them Billy, but stylistically, I don't know. You
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: know that that I don't know, man. It it kind
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: of favors him there. But yeah, either way, it didn't
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: didn't come to you know, didn't come to form unfortunately,
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: so and Billy's gonna search for a new folk. But yeah,
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: we we heard a lot of oh we made the
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: call and we didn't hear back, and he didn't hear back. Well,
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: it's gonna be a purse bit dude, you know. So
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: it kind of sounds like a little shakiness coming out
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: of there. But if you don't, you know, if he's
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: young and he's don't want to match him yet with
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: that cool you know, that's fine, but don't make up stories,
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: you know what I mean That That's where I'm not
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: a big fan of it. We'll see, we'll see where
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: that goes. But that was gonna be a good fight.
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: I was really looking forward to that fight. It is
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: what it is, well Edbard Lang Edgar Burt Langa had
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: a lot to say, you know, about Plant taking the
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: fight and going with the Charlow fight at some point
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: if they both went obviously he said all that ship
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: that Dan's was, well, you know, Caleb Plant was talking.
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: Now he's fighting a prospect that's not even a rank
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: that has two losses. Are you a You're a fucking
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: disgrace to boxing. Man. It's fucking sad. And it's like
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: and lily even does he not remember his last opponent? Yeah,
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: it's like dog, do you see who you just thought? Uh,
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: Caleb Plant did come back? He said. My manager personally
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: reach out to Berlanga, Berlanga's manager and tried to make
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: the fight for later this summer. Eggar turned it down.
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: He didn't want to fight now. He also came with, well,
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: I get thirty mil, and you're the B side. I
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: only pay you two hundred thousand or something like that.
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: You're not getting thirty mil for that fight. Dude, Like, stop, dude,
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: stop it. You didn't get thirty mili for the Canelo
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: fight up front anyway, I don't think even on the
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: back end. But either way, it's like, what did he
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: talking about. Oh, here's a surprise, so you may and
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: Junior and Ben is now pay per view basically twenty
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: five bucks in the US. Now, I could have sworn
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: I heard in an interview and correct me if I'm wrong,
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: But I could have sworn, and I've said it multiple times.
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: I thought I saw that it was going to be
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: part of the subscription in the US, so that's a
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: little disappointing, But I don't know, there are some it's
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: a closely matched undergard. I'll say that there's not a
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: bunch of like like it's just a co feature that's
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: like highly anticipated, but they are equally matched a couple
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: of fights there, so it does look like Tayo Fima
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: Lopez comments that he doesn't like the promotion of Turkey,
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: doesn't he's not doing it right, But then he deleted
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: it right, so he was. He said, the promotion you
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: guys has been doing on your card has been ship
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: and then you know, not long after, uh, May second's
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: going to be a super stardom knight, a boxing super
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: stardom night, a boxing great job everyone in his excellence.
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: That turned around pretty quick. Shakoor had a little little
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: run in too, saying Schakour claims that the money that
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: he was supposed that he was I guess promised and
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: told he would get to fight Zippata is now lower.
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: This was, of course said, uh basically, Oscar said all
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: that shit talking and Steven's gonna pull out the pad
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: of fight. This was before they called it. He said,
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: is that what they told you? Turkey promised me a number,
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: and now he's going back on that number that he
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: promised me, sending his and he said, towel boys, what
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: the fuck dude to run me info instead of straight
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: up telling me a bow down to no one, mister
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: de lohea and now that's negotiate, all right, now, let's negotiate.
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: So he's basically saying I was told this and I'm
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: not getting that, so, you know, okay, which that's kind
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: of weird. I guess we'll find out, you know who,
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: uh who who? You know what? What side's gonna They'll
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: probably just work a deal before the person that happens
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: to be honest with you, he'll probably just up the
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: money back to where it was. You know. I think
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: that's about it. Yeah, I think that's about it. I
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: think that's where we're gonna stop from news boxing, Twitter stuff.
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: Oh they're here, dude, here's Abel Sanchez, former trainer of Glovekin.
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: I don't think Benavitez has earned it. Did you hear
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: what I said? Former Galovekin trainer who made such a
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: big deal of glove can rightfully so deserving a shot
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: at Canela right and then now, and that's the thing
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: is when you train, when you box anything like that.
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: Obviously the knowledge you have is much higher than pretty
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: much the rest of us. But you also can have
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: your own personal ego and jealousy and all sorts of
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: shit involved in your opinion, just like us, but even
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: more in some sense because it affects her life, right,
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: and for able to say that, it's just a slap
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: in the face, Like, really, dude. So here's from the
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: Boxing Voice. I think this is a ridiculous tweet. I
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: think it's just to get people rised up or whatever,
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: but you know, to get people interested engaged. But he said,
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: what are your thoughts on on David Benevite's management situation?
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: Do you think it's time for him to part ways
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: with Samson and seek a new manager who can help
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: secure those big fights he's been craving. They offered Canelo
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: Alvarez the most upfront money he's ever been offered at
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: that time of the offer. Okay, he offered a package
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: for Canelo, the PBC, Samson, everybody involved in this, right,
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: The PBC offered three separate deals with Benevitez in the deal,
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: so three separate offers to fight him? Actually, is it four?
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: It's at least three and like I said, this upfront
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: money was the most he ever got, so that's just bullshit.
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: And then they offered Bivill eight mil for the fight. Dude,
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: I'm not saying he's ducking them, but to say that
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: he needs new management obviously, what are you talking about, dude.
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: They've been trying to make the goddamn fights. It's just
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: it's stupid, and it's just that's what Twitter's turned into it.
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: And that's been a long time Twitter YouTube boxing, all
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: this shit, it's all been like that, not all, but
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: too much of it. Let's see. So it looks like
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: the w B A w b A arranged a little tourney,
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: got Wardley, Miller and pool lev and Hunter and they
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: already slapped each other. Someone slapped I think it was
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: was that Miller slapped Wardly at that at that press conference.
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: So you know, whatever it is, what it is. Let's
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: see what else we got here do do? This is
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: Adam from in boxing. I like Jelala all off less
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: and less the more I see him. Have to respect
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: his left hand, which is very educated and powerful, but
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: he's very limited with his right hand and off and
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: has passive temperament. Yeah, that's a great point. Gritty says,
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: give me Torres over jebble Off in the first fight
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: versus each other in the pros. Honestly that that's like
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: a year or two ago. I'd have been like, nah,
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: But honestly, I'm not that I'm not that far off
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: now because he just I don't know, man, he just doesn't.
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: It's just weird. Oh, I did forget to mention. I
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: saw this brunch boxing tweet All Lopez Junior survived a
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: first round knockdown and wins controversial decision. That was a
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: Miguel Coda Promotions. I just saw the highlights of that.
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: I didn't watch the whole fight. I'll be honest with you,
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: but maybe I should check that out. Uh, this is
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: boxing twitter, gloves off, not me looking directly at Dimitri
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: Bivel and saying, Oh, I'm just saying, so we're just
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: giving up championship belts. It's like, yeah, but dude, it's
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: for lineal. Here's roled. I think he puts it in
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: the best perspective. I don't have an issue with Beval
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: dumping a strap. If he's going straight to better Beev,
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: I'd have an issue if the winner of that fight
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: then doesn't make the fight. I agree with that. That's
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: where I'm That's exactly where I'm at. Bug says, two
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: hundred k. This is talking about this Del Santos two
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: hundred games he saw. Two hundred thousand seems sold for
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: a guy coming off a trash performance, a loss in
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: eighteen months of inactivity, no star parer. Yeah, I mean,
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: like I said, I need to know what he made.
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: But you know, i'd have to know what he made
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: against the court and then go from there. Like I mentioned,
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: Eli sculton A is now with MVP Promotions. By the way, Oh,
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: here's a big one. I saw this on Brunchboxing two.
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: Combat Sports Law dot Com is the article and there
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: the ABC president says, presently the UFC TKO is requesting
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: an amendment change to the Mohammed Ali Act, which is
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: spelled Mohammad wrong. The Board of Directors is working with
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: them to make sure the ABC is still part of
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: the federal law. Oh, the opponent, bad Jack's opponent, Raziki,
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: he got hurt, so he's out. He's out of that fight.
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: That's pretty trouble. Let's see where that Ali Act goes.
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: Here's an interesting point. In twenty twenty five, the ABC
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: urged the US Attorney General to investigate al Hayman and
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: allege she was violating the ALI Act. Now they're working
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: with Tiko to gut the ALI Act. Let's see what
- 1:27:03Speaker 1: they do the ALI Act. And it is funny how
- 1:27:06Speaker 1: how different that is taken right. Oh yeah, yeah, we'll
- 1:27:10Speaker 1: work it out. We'll work it out anyway. I'm gonna
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: get out of here. Enjoy the fights, hopefully. I assume
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: I'll be back next Tuesday night. Get back to that.
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: It's just, you know, how life gets in the way. Anyway,
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: Enjoy the fights.
