- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome to Dirty Rush The Truth about Sorority Life with
- 0:04Speaker 1: your hosts me Gia Judice.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Daisy Kent, and Jennifer Kessler. Hi, everybody, this is Trista Setter.
- 0:13Speaker 2: I'm here with Joan Vassos. Is that how you pronounce
- 0:17Speaker 2: your name? I've never even said it out loud?
- 0:18Speaker 3: Yeah, you did it perfectly. Funny, you do it perfectly.
- 0:21Speaker 3: It is that's funny. We don't do you know.
- 0:24Speaker 2: I'm like, that's so random. And Gabby, we are here
- 0:29Speaker 2: for Dirty Rush and we're so excited, and of course
- 0:31Speaker 2: we're in Tahoe. We were talking about how much fun
- 0:34Speaker 2: it is to do these events. Have you done other
- 0:37Speaker 2: iHeart events for us?
- 0:39Speaker 4: I went to jingle Ball okay, yes, in La which
- 0:42Speaker 4: was so fun. But that is the only other iHeart
- 0:45Speaker 4: event and I am loving it here. I've never been
- 0:47Speaker 4: to Tahoe and I'm like, this is insane.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Isn't the most beautiful?
- 0:50Speaker 2: If I want to move here, I'm like on zillow,
- 0:52Speaker 2: you know, just like you or my husband, I guarantee
- 0:55Speaker 2: you every probably over place I go to.
- 0:57Speaker 5: I'm like, oh, this one looks nice.
- 0:58Speaker 3: Five million dollars.
- 1:00Speaker 6: I spent every vacation of my entire life with my
- 1:03Speaker 6: late husband, him deciding that we had to buy a place, and.
- 1:07Speaker 3: Yeah, me too.
- 1:08Speaker 5: I'm not sending it to my fiance.
- 1:09Speaker 4: I'm like, we could live here, you know, we just
- 1:12Speaker 4: got a house, but like, what about this one?
- 1:14Speaker 2: Yeah? I love it. I love it. Yes, Tahoe is amazing.
- 1:19Speaker 2: So thank you for coming. I know we talked a
- 1:23Speaker 2: little bit about pickleball and you don't know a lot
- 1:27Speaker 2: about it, but I'm here to help.
- 1:29Speaker 5: Thank you so much. You're such a giver.
- 1:32Speaker 3: She's just recruiting people to be in her. In her
- 1:36Speaker 3: I don't want to.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Get her to do it to you.
- 1:38Speaker 4: I want to get into it, but like I need
- 1:40Speaker 4: to take a lesson. I actually know what's going on.
- 1:44Speaker 4: I just need to know, like the lingo and the roles,
- 1:47Speaker 4: and then.
- 1:47Speaker 5: I feel like, okay, it's just probably.
- 1:49Speaker 3: You have long legs. You look like an athlete.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Thank you so much.
- 1:53Speaker 3: I want you on my team.
- 1:53Speaker 5: I do plates you.
- 1:57Speaker 3: Because I'm not going to be that good. Just pre
- 1:59Speaker 3: warning you.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Oh all right, back to dirty Rush. So we're going
- 2:03Speaker 2: to go through schools that we went to. Where were
- 2:07Speaker 2: you in college?
- 2:08Speaker 5: I went to Ole Miss Oh, so craziest rush place. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 2:15Speaker 5: it was wild.
- 2:17Speaker 2: And when did you graduate?
- 2:18Speaker 4: I graduated in twenty nineteen, so kind of before all
- 2:21Speaker 4: the like TikTok.
- 2:22Speaker 3: Stuff happened, dancing, the matching outfits and all that.
- 2:25Speaker 4: Yeah, and before like the whole like documentary came out
- 2:31Speaker 4: about Bama Rush.
- 2:32Speaker 5: I like was right before that. Yeah, experienced it before
- 2:36Speaker 5: you went oh no, no no.
- 2:38Speaker 4: I was, like I graduated right before all graduated like
- 2:41Speaker 4: started becoming like such a social media craze, which I'm
- 2:46Speaker 4: kind of glad because I was just gonna ask you, Yeah,
- 2:49Speaker 4: I think it would have been too much ole Miss.
- 2:50Speaker 4: I mean, the girls do not mess around. You guys
- 2:53Speaker 4: have probably seen like game day outfits. Ole Miss is
- 2:56Speaker 4: like next level girls being.
- 2:59Speaker 5: Extra yeah in the best way. Yeah, And I love
- 3:02Speaker 5: that for them.
- 3:03Speaker 6: But I love it how people dress up for the
- 3:05Speaker 6: games and they make it. They make the Saturday is
- 3:08Speaker 6: like an event every Saturday during football completely it's it
- 3:11Speaker 6: is and and the sororities and fraternities are like such
- 3:13Speaker 6: a big part of it. They are they're not athletes,
- 3:15Speaker 6: but they are as big as you know, for the
- 3:18Speaker 6: football day, as any as the players are.
- 3:20Speaker 4: I mean, those are like the tenths you go to
- 3:22Speaker 4: so you like always have a little home to go
- 3:24Speaker 4: to that has food and everything you need except alcohol,
- 3:28Speaker 4: So you got to go to the frat tents for that,
- 3:31Speaker 4: but you know where to find out.
- 3:35Speaker 2: So I went to Indiana graduated in ninety one five,
- 3:41Speaker 2: graduating ninety five, and I was an alpha kai. What
- 3:44Speaker 2: were you? I was a pie fi Okay, amazing. I'm
- 3:46Speaker 2: going to write you down for my letters of recommendation
- 3:48Speaker 2: for my daughter. I'm just kidding. I just wrote down Joan.
- 3:55Speaker 2: But I she might be going through it next year
- 3:59Speaker 2: because she's going next year. We don't know she's saying
- 4:02Speaker 2: in high school.
- 4:02Speaker 5: It's just saying okay o exciting.
- 4:05Speaker 2: So I'm kind of right kind of reliving all of
- 4:08Speaker 2: this through her a little bit.
- 4:11Speaker 3: I'm getting nervous right now because it's a lot of pressure.
- 4:14Speaker 5: It's so much.
- 4:16Speaker 4: I went and I'm from Vermont, and I didn't know
- 4:19Speaker 4: like how sororities and fraternities were, and I knew rush
- 4:23Speaker 4: was going to be a big thing, but I didn't
- 4:25Speaker 4: know all of the stuff that went into it, so
- 4:27Speaker 4: I didn't have recommendation letters like I remember emailing people
- 4:31Speaker 4: desperately like before I went, like please write me a wreck,
- 4:34Speaker 4: Like here's my resume and I'm a good person.
- 4:37Speaker 5: Here's a picture of me.
- 4:39Speaker 2: And I didn't I didn't get a lot.
- 4:41Speaker 5: So it's like really hard to.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Know.
- 4:45Speaker 5: They're like, oh, you know legacy, Sorry, I can't help.
- 4:49Speaker 4: I mean it's legacies, like the top houses are you
- 4:55Speaker 4: really have to be a legacy or you have to know.
- 4:57Speaker 5: People when all the top houses you would.
- 4:59Speaker 4: Say, it's Katie, Ti, Dell, and Kyo. Those are like
- 5:04Speaker 4: the three top houses and Katie is like where like
- 5:07Speaker 4: Leanne Touey went. That's that's her sorority.
- 5:11Speaker 2: So it was kind of crazy, is that sorry? The
- 5:14Speaker 2: blind Side No, the movie football Player, that is the mother.
- 5:20Speaker 2: The mother is Tety and so she was like a
- 5:23Speaker 2: huge donor.
- 5:24Speaker 5: And like like.
- 5:25Speaker 4: When we would go through Rush, they put in like
- 5:27Speaker 4: very strict parameters, like the second year I was there,
- 5:31Speaker 4: so you couldn't do like there used to be a
- 5:33Speaker 4: skit round where you would do like these crazy fun skits.
- 5:36Speaker 4: They took that out because they wanted to be like
- 5:38Speaker 4: a more even playing field and they made us wear
- 5:40Speaker 4: like specific T shirts. You could only wear the T
- 5:42Speaker 4: shirts until like Sisterhood and then you could or pref
- 5:46Speaker 4: and you could wear a dress, but.
- 5:49Speaker 5: Show no, they get.
- 5:52Speaker 4: Fined, like big fines, like fifty thousand dollars like fines,
- 5:55Speaker 4: and she would pay.
- 5:56Speaker 2: It a thousand dollars fines.
- 6:01Speaker 4: I didn't know. I don't know how much it was,
- 6:02Speaker 4: but it was rumored that, like because they would wear
- 6:05Speaker 4: like light up shoes and that's against the rules, like
- 6:07Speaker 4: because you can't like try to like waite for adults.
- 6:10Speaker 4: Like yeah, like they would like so we would have
- 6:12Speaker 4: to do the chance right and they'd be doing the
- 6:14Speaker 4: chants with their feet and they would be like in
- 6:16Speaker 4: light up shoes.
- 6:18Speaker 5: It was crazy.
- 6:18Speaker 4: Russia Ole miss was so insane. And when you were
- 6:21Speaker 4: the one like putting it on like our people, I
- 6:24Speaker 4: also don't know I'm allowed to say, but whatever, they
- 6:26Speaker 4: can come for me. They would go to the top
- 6:29Speaker 4: of the street and they would have us in the
- 6:32Speaker 4: house and if they could not hear us screaming at
- 6:34Speaker 4: the top of the street with the door shut.
- 6:36Speaker 5: Then we had to keep doing it and keep doing it.
- 6:39Speaker 2: My lord.
- 6:42Speaker 3: We loved.
- 6:42Speaker 5: We had so much fun. I mean, was like the
- 6:45Speaker 5: best week.
- 6:46Speaker 4: It is like, well, so you do like rush prep
- 6:49Speaker 4: week and you go the week before school and you
- 6:51Speaker 4: have all themed days and that's when you really got screaming.
- 6:55Speaker 4: But Rush nights you would be up all night, like
- 6:58Speaker 4: you'd be at the sorority house to.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Like, Yes, it's such a bonding time truly, and they
- 7:03Speaker 2: always put it right at like midterms. Yeah.
- 7:06Speaker 4: I was like, this is perfect because OLMOS is one
- 7:08Speaker 4: of the only schools and it doesn't.
- 7:10Speaker 5: Rush before I went there.
- 7:13Speaker 4: Yeah, so that apparently it's like for girls who like
- 7:16Speaker 4: try to transfer something if they don't get this, I
- 7:20Speaker 4: don't know there is leasing to it.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Now I'm questioning myself if Indiana did. My brain doesn't
- 7:24Speaker 2: work very well these days. But yes, that's that's crazy crazy. Yeah,
- 7:29Speaker 2: oh my gosh. I love all these crazy stories. No,
- 7:32Speaker 2: it's so many because I also don't remember so much
- 7:35Speaker 2: of my experience. I just have a bad memory anyway.
- 7:38Speaker 2: But what I do remember is Rush, so our different
- 7:43Speaker 2: I was in Alpha Kai yeah, and our story and
- 7:47Speaker 2: like all the sororities that Indiana and Indiana has a
- 7:50Speaker 2: massive Greek system and we would all do the skits
- 7:54Speaker 2: and so you're part of all the skits and I
- 7:57Speaker 2: remember that, like my mom was a buyer for sacks,
- 8:03Speaker 2: but maybe not at that time, like maybe it was
- 8:06Speaker 2: one of the Targets stores or whatever with their department stores,
- 8:09Speaker 2: and so she would have like stuff laying around the
- 8:11Speaker 2: house that like it was a sample. Yeah exactly. So
- 8:16Speaker 2: I had samples of sequin dresses. And I remember like
- 8:18Speaker 2: we did a skit and we needed dresses or something.
- 8:21Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, I got that. And just like just
- 8:24Speaker 2: the bonding time with your with your friends who were
- 8:28Speaker 2: like excited about the skits, whether it's dancing or singing
- 8:31Speaker 2: or talking or hosting or like just getting people excited.
- 8:34Speaker 2: I just remember that as such a special time where
- 8:38Speaker 2: we all got to just bondh and have fun together.
- 8:41Speaker 2: It was so fun.
- 8:42Speaker 5: I made so many friends.
- 8:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I hated it at first, So did you.
- 8:45Speaker 4: Freshman year, I was like I didn't want pie Fi.
- 8:48Speaker 4: I want to find you, okay, And my gamma Kay
- 8:52Speaker 4: got me a recommendation letter from pi FI.
- 8:55Speaker 5: And because I was too scared to like dirty rush.
- 8:59Speaker 2: Actually does actually dirty rush meaning you said I like
- 9:02Speaker 2: Ole miss Like, basically, if you're like being dirty Rush,
- 9:05Speaker 2: it means you're going outside of the rules of engagement
- 9:09Speaker 2: for potential new members.
- 9:11Speaker 4: So like let's say like a Kappa was like, Hey,
- 9:14Speaker 4: come to my pregame. That is dirty rushing because they
- 9:17Speaker 4: are rushing.
- 9:18Speaker 3: You outsideide of the rush.
- 9:20Speaker 4: So the only time you're allowed to interact with the
- 9:23Speaker 4: sorority girls that are active members, it was during this
- 9:27Speaker 4: thing called the Care Walk, which is like a breast
- 9:29Speaker 4: cancer awareness walk. And so I was like scared to
- 9:34Speaker 4: like get in trouble, and so I stuck with my
- 9:37Speaker 4: gamma Ka. I was the only person that stayed with
- 9:39Speaker 4: our gamma Kai. All the other ones went to like
- 9:41Speaker 4: the girls that they were trying to.
- 9:42Speaker 5: Like rush for you.
- 9:44Speaker 4: Yeah, so they went to the different girls they knew
- 9:46Speaker 4: and the sororities.
- 9:47Speaker 5: What happens to those girls, Like if they're well.
- 9:50Speaker 4: They're okay because they're allowed to interact on that day
- 9:52Speaker 4: because you can't tell somebody what pace they can walk at,
- 9:55Speaker 4: like everyone they're gonna be out there, you can, I mean,
- 9:58Speaker 4: if you want to speed walk, speed walk.
- 10:00Speaker 5: So that was a dirty rushing.
- 10:03Speaker 4: But that's why she was like, I thought it was
- 10:05Speaker 4: really nice for sticking with her.
- 10:07Speaker 5: So she got me a wreck letter.
- 10:09Speaker 4: But I wanted to find you, and I almost was
- 10:11Speaker 4: like I was, I was like, I'm not running home
- 10:14Speaker 4: to pi Fey.
- 10:15Speaker 5: Yeah, but I loved it.
- 10:16Speaker 3: You end up loving it.
- 10:17Speaker 5: Yeah, I ended up loving it.
- 10:18Speaker 6: I went to University of Maryland and I was a
- 10:20Speaker 6: Delta game. I graduated in eighty five. I didn't rush.
- 10:23Speaker 6: I rushed when I was a sophomore, and I didn't
- 10:25Speaker 6: get DGI, so I just didn't take a bid from
- 10:28Speaker 6: the sorority that I got an offer from, which would
- 10:32Speaker 6: have been actually a great match for me, and I
- 10:34Speaker 6: maybe should have done that. But I rushed again the
- 10:36Speaker 6: next year without any guarantee, and I got DGI, which
- 10:39Speaker 6: was what I wanted.
- 10:41Speaker 3: But like, I'm not.
- 10:42Speaker 6: Positive like that was the end all I thought it
- 10:45Speaker 6: was at the time because I had a good friend,
- 10:46Speaker 6: I knew girls in that sorority. Yeah, and I felt
- 10:48Speaker 6: comfortable there, but I was. I got an offer from
- 10:51Speaker 6: Theta and it was a really good house, and my
- 10:54Speaker 6: best friend ended up going there becoming a Theta and
- 10:57Speaker 6: like she had a great college experience. So like I
- 11:00Speaker 6: think you can you might be surprised if you don't
- 11:03Speaker 6: get your first choice, that it may happen for a reason.
- 11:08Speaker 5: Yes, yeah, I ended you loving it.
- 11:09Speaker 4: And I met like so many of my best friends there,
- 11:12Speaker 4: and I had best friends and other sororities too, so
- 11:14Speaker 4: it was like fine, yeah, we all like sometimes we like.
- 11:17Speaker 5: Crash each other's like date parties exactly.
- 11:19Speaker 1: I love that it kicked out, but we're like no,
- 11:21Speaker 1: like I'm the d D, Like yeah, hello, it's yeah.
- 11:25Speaker 5: Yeah, Okay.
- 11:41Speaker 2: I want to go through some aspects of recruitment that
- 11:44Speaker 2: are really big today and just talk about our opinions.
- 11:48Speaker 2: So social media marketing, we've got hiring social media directors
- 11:54Speaker 2: to promote your sorority during work week. That's a thing.
- 11:57Speaker 4: That's been a thing that has been a thing, but
- 11:59Speaker 4: it was just different. Like when I went through Rush
- 12:02Speaker 4: in twenty fifteen, it.
- 12:05Speaker 7: Was like like thirteen fifteen, fifteen, twenty fifteen, it was
- 12:10Speaker 7: like people was making they were making music videos, right,
- 12:12Speaker 7: and so they would hire like companies to basically make
- 12:15Speaker 7: music videos.
- 12:16Speaker 4: It was different, but it was the same, and they'd
- 12:18Speaker 4: be on YouTube and Facebook and like, oh my gosh,
- 12:21Speaker 4: it was electric. It was like, I mean, it'll take
- 12:24Speaker 4: you back if you watch it. I mean it's like
- 12:26Speaker 4: girls like dancing around, Like I'm like, you know the
- 12:28Speaker 4: OG videos of like girls like frolicking around together, Like,
- 12:33Speaker 4: oh my gosh, I want to be a part of that.
- 12:35Speaker 2: Oh my god.
- 12:36Speaker 5: So that's been a thing.
- 12:38Speaker 3: I wow, for a while, it really sold you. You
- 12:42Speaker 3: rush yeah, and you're like, oh my god, that's the
- 12:44Speaker 3: house I wanted.
- 12:45Speaker 2: You want to be part of a solreaty because of
- 12:47Speaker 2: their social media marketing.
- 12:49Speaker 4: Not necessarily, but there's ones I didn't want to be
- 12:50Speaker 4: a part of.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Really. I was like, I don't think it can work
- 12:54Speaker 2: against them.
- 12:55Speaker 4: Yeah, so it can, but like it's like everything in life, right,
- 12:59Speaker 4: like okay, Like I mean maybe.
- 13:00Speaker 6: That video attracted other types of girls and that it
- 13:03Speaker 6: worked out right each other.
- 13:06Speaker 4: I wouldn't have fit in at like tried all yeah,
- 13:09Speaker 4: like those aren't my girls, but they're beautiful and cute
- 13:12Speaker 4: and southern and proper.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:15Speaker 4: I was like from the Northeast, Like you know, I
- 13:17Speaker 4: wasn't totally Yeah, I'm not proper. I'm like I like
- 13:21Speaker 4: on the farm, you know.
- 13:23Speaker 2: So it's good to do right now, you're just stunning, Okay,
- 13:29Speaker 2: TikTok dances. I'm sure you all have seen the dances
- 13:31Speaker 2: on social media. They're they're full out routines. Is so true.
- 13:35Speaker 2: The picking of the front girls is a big deal.
- 13:39Speaker 2: I can't even imagine what goes down when they're auditioning,
- 13:46Speaker 2: Like who first of all is it the rush director
- 13:48Speaker 2: who's auditioning and she's the one who picks and it
- 13:51Speaker 2: is usual friend chair.
- 13:52Speaker 4: That like is like a dance well at least for us,
- 13:55Speaker 4: it was like there was a chair that was assigned
- 13:57Speaker 4: by the rush person yea, or not a chair, but
- 14:00Speaker 4: like somebody that ran it. And she was like somebody
- 14:03Speaker 4: who did dance all through high school where was on
- 14:05Speaker 4: the dance team.
- 14:06Speaker 2: And she was like, I can.
- 14:07Speaker 4: Choreograph, yep, I can teach the girls all of this.
- 14:11Speaker 4: And then that's how it was decided. Or they choose
- 14:15Speaker 4: the cute girls and give you.
- 14:16Speaker 5: Something simple yep, like like our doorstacks.
- 14:19Speaker 2: They would what's that mean?
- 14:20Speaker 5: Oh so almoss, I love.
- 14:24Speaker 2: Me.
- 14:24Speaker 4: They banned this, I think because they were actually dangerous.
- 14:27Speaker 4: But literally we would start so the bottom girls would
- 14:30Speaker 4: be on their hands and knees and we would climb
- 14:32Speaker 4: on top of each other, so we would stack all
- 14:34Speaker 4: the way up the door and so we would oh
- 14:36Speaker 4: my god, it like actually haunts me.
- 14:38Speaker 5: Would be like flipping our freaking heads like rush proby.
- 14:42Speaker 3: I mean it was.
- 14:43Speaker 5: It was borderline demonic. But to where to God?
- 14:46Speaker 2: I have a video going on, people, I will show you.
- 14:49Speaker 4: After this this video from I have to go on
- 14:51Speaker 4: my Snapchat memories, but it is crazy.
- 14:54Speaker 3: Gosh, oh, oh my god.
- 14:57Speaker 5: That's a doorstack.
- 14:58Speaker 1: That's it.
- 14:59Speaker 2: Why didn't you it was like furniture to stand on
- 15:02Speaker 2: instead of because we did.
- 15:03Speaker 5: Once the girls were out of the house, we rushed,
- 15:06Speaker 5: We rushed to the front.
- 15:07Speaker 2: We all stepped up.
- 15:08Speaker 4: So then we were like bye, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye from
- 15:13Speaker 4: that one hundred girls, I think nar Yeah, and then
- 15:17Speaker 4: you had girls like like behind like being like bye bye.
- 15:20Speaker 3: Because they could they couldn't get that.
- 15:22Speaker 2: It's crazy.
- 15:22Speaker 3: They couldn't be seen.
- 15:23Speaker 5: Yeah, it was just insane.
- 15:25Speaker 3: I can't imagine how those top people got up.
- 15:26Speaker 5: There, and did they ever get They run and jump
- 15:29Speaker 5: on each other.
- 15:30Speaker 3: Yeah, they're just stepping on sisters. Yeah, that's a message
- 15:33Speaker 3: you want to show.
- 15:34Speaker 5: Hold each other up.
- 15:35Speaker 3: Look at us. We step on each other.
- 15:37Speaker 2: We hold hold each other.
- 15:40Speaker 3: It's all about the marketing. Yep, each other each.
- 15:44Speaker 5: Other up exactly.
- 15:45Speaker 2: Okay. This is a big thing that I have seen
- 15:47Speaker 2: lately is sponsorships. Brands are partnering with sororities to promote
- 15:50Speaker 2: their brands, like Poppy with alex Earle. I remember seeing
- 15:54Speaker 2: her walking into her sorority house or during rush or whatever.
- 15:59Speaker 2: I wonder it's kind of like the the football trend
- 16:05Speaker 2: of like paying the college athlete. I know, and I
- 16:09Speaker 2: don't know if I like it.
- 16:10Speaker 3: I mean, guining brand sponsorships.
- 16:12Speaker 2: I mean I feel like, yes, good for them, but
- 16:16Speaker 2: also I don't know, there's something like kind of like.
- 16:21Speaker 4: It's true market like it are you talking like person
- 16:24Speaker 4: a person, like one person gets a brand new or
- 16:27Speaker 4: it's for the sorority as a whole sorority.
- 16:28Speaker 6: I think like Poppy will give you know, twenty cases
- 16:32Speaker 6: a poppy and they want you to show them holding it.
- 16:34Speaker 4: Well, I mean, I will say if they're making money
- 16:37Speaker 4: from it, if it goes to the sorority, and oh
- 16:39Speaker 4: they should be paying the sorority for if it helps
- 16:42Speaker 4: with maintenance and lowering people's dues.
- 16:44Speaker 2: True, I'm good with that.
- 16:45Speaker 5: If it goes to philanthropy, I'm good with that, true story.
- 16:47Speaker 3: But if it's just.
- 16:48Speaker 2: Being I mean, because there's a brand like wanting exposure
- 16:52Speaker 2: and being like, well, we're sending all this stuff, so
- 16:54Speaker 2: just post it.
- 16:55Speaker 5: It's like, well, like.
- 16:56Speaker 4: You're getting a lot of like exposure from this, and
- 16:59Speaker 4: you know these girls are going to be so excited
- 17:00Speaker 4: about your products, they're going to go out and.
- 17:01Speaker 2: Buy them themselves. Totally agree.
- 17:03Speaker 4: So I don't know, I feel like there are good
- 17:07Speaker 4: things that come from that. And like I know, our
- 17:10Speaker 4: dues were really high and then they started doing renovations
- 17:12Speaker 4: on our house and they like went up so much.
- 17:14Speaker 2: Remember last year, I was like, thank god, I'm leaving, Like, yeah,
- 17:17Speaker 2: these are crazy.
- 17:19Speaker 5: It was like another tuition.
- 17:20Speaker 2: I mean, you're right, if someone smart in the in
- 17:23Speaker 2: the sorority house or at the university or whatever is
- 17:25Speaker 2: setting up brand deals for your actual house and you're
- 17:29Speaker 2: able to, like you said, give back to your philanthropy
- 17:33Speaker 2: or pay for dues or renovations or whatever. Great. So
- 17:37Speaker 2: it's an all group thing. But if there's one particular person,
- 17:40Speaker 2: I just don't know if that like would sit well
- 17:43Speaker 2: with me.
- 17:44Speaker 3: I didn't picture it that way.
- 17:45Speaker 2: You know, like if one person is getting like security
- 17:52Speaker 2: sisters to like like that, but you know, whatever to
- 17:58Speaker 2: each if it was a whole like it, yeah, I
- 18:01Speaker 2: think it would be. Yeah.
- 18:02Speaker 6: I think it's actually be kind of interesting to see
- 18:05Speaker 6: what brands sorry, it's actually offer like you could see
- 18:08Speaker 6: I can see a lot of lipstick brands.
- 18:09Speaker 3: I could see a lot of makeup brands.
- 18:11Speaker 2: Offering make up.
- 18:12Speaker 3: I could see. I could see a big industry there,
- 18:15Speaker 3: like the odor.
- 18:16Speaker 2: It would be a like Salt and Stone needs to
- 18:18Speaker 2: get in there because there's a great like none of
- 18:21Speaker 2: these cute cute or any there's a ton of tennis
- 18:27Speaker 2: skirts you have to all the time, like.
- 18:30Speaker 3: Sure, yeah they could.
- 18:33Speaker 5: There are opportunities.
- 18:34Speaker 3: There are a lot of opper many of the schools
- 18:37Speaker 3: where you could offer them.
- 18:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:39Speaker 5: Yeah, maybe we should get into this business.
- 18:41Speaker 6: I mean, okay, the three of us, we should do this.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Okay.
- 19:00Speaker 2: Outfits of the Day. Both actives and p and ms
- 19:03Speaker 2: post their outfits of the day on their social media,
- 19:05Speaker 2: explaining where every item is from.
- 19:07Speaker 3: Great Little Brandy not.
- 19:11Speaker 2: I mean, I love outfits of the day for me,
- 19:14Speaker 2: especially like the discount ones where I'm like, you want
- 19:17Speaker 2: that from Walmart? I'm going, I'm.
- 19:21Speaker 3: I never before in my life and I went and
- 19:24Speaker 3: went and I did a Walmart hole.
- 19:26Speaker 2: Lately really good, such good.
- 19:27Speaker 5: Stuff like that. My Texas home line is insane.
- 19:34Speaker 3: No I haven't seen it.
- 19:35Speaker 5: Oh my gosh, I've I bought like ten of them. Okay,
- 19:39Speaker 5: they have.
- 19:42Speaker 2: So good. I'm all about that. Like if girls want
- 19:44Speaker 2: to share their own outfits of the day, like go
- 19:48Speaker 2: for it.
- 19:49Speaker 4: I will say, it can be a brutal place. Though
- 19:51Speaker 4: I read some of the comments, I'm like.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Oh, oh, like people are ruthless, and then it makes
- 19:56Speaker 2: me sad because I like think about how scary rushes
- 19:59Speaker 2: and how intimidate and then I'm like, like, you're right,
- 20:03Speaker 2: she's just a girl. You're just especially thinking about my
- 20:08Speaker 2: daughter going I would want about that because I wouldn't
- 20:12Speaker 2: want to know.
- 20:12Speaker 4: It just like makes me so sad because it really
- 20:15Speaker 4: is kind of a toxic experience because you just you
- 20:19Speaker 4: doubt yourself so much.
- 20:21Speaker 3: It's an ego like it is.
- 20:25Speaker 5: Yeah, it just like tears you down a little bit.
- 20:27Speaker 3: No matter well, you're super vulnerable freshman in college.
- 20:29Speaker 4: Unless you like really go in. You're like, I'm a
- 20:32Speaker 4: triple legacy here. I know exactly where I'm going to
- 20:34Speaker 4: go to people like worship literally at your feet, because
- 20:38Speaker 4: that's what they do.
- 20:39Speaker 2: They do your.
- 20:40Speaker 5: Feet, sit by the feet, we say on legacy people.
- 20:43Speaker 4: No, no, no, everyone like I would sit like if
- 20:46Speaker 4: I was the p and M I would and I
- 20:49Speaker 4: was the active would be sitting right here really like
- 20:52Speaker 4: on their knees, like talking to me, like.
- 20:55Speaker 2: And you were the triple Legacy or is this for everybody?
- 20:57Speaker 4: I just mean, like if it wasn't like my my
- 21:00Speaker 4: experience was like really daunting and scary and intimidating. And
- 21:04Speaker 4: I do feel like it bruised my ego, which that's
- 21:08Speaker 4: always a good thing. You can only go up from there.
- 21:10Speaker 4: Sometimes you need to be humbled. But I just feel
- 21:14Speaker 4: for some of the girls that post things and then
- 21:16Speaker 4: they just get like absolutely destroyed.
- 21:18Speaker 5: I'm like, she's just trying to like do what everyone
- 21:21Speaker 5: is trying to be.
- 21:23Speaker 2: Can you I'm sorry, I'm going to go back to this,
- 21:26Speaker 2: like sitting with everyone sitting at your feet. That's how
- 21:28Speaker 2: it works now, Yeah.
- 21:29Speaker 4: So like I could pretend to do you know, but yeah,
- 21:34Speaker 4: so they like sit right there, like literally at.
- 21:37Speaker 2: Your knees and they're literally sitting on the ground and
- 21:40Speaker 2: you're in a chair.
- 21:41Speaker 4: The P and M is in a chair, and then
- 21:43Speaker 4: the active person is on their knees sitting next to you.
- 21:47Speaker 4: And then when it gets to and it's just one,
- 21:48Speaker 4: it's just one, so it's one to one.
- 21:50Speaker 5: And then somebody if it's a girl that you I
- 21:53Speaker 5: don't know if I'm well, I don't I didn't sign
- 21:56Speaker 5: that NDA.
- 21:57Speaker 4: Yeah, so I think I like, I don't know. Anyways,
- 22:02Speaker 4: maybe if they're really good, I'm they would like shift
- 22:05Speaker 4: like more girls to come and talk to them so
- 22:07Speaker 4: they felt really loved okay, so like it'd be like, oh,
- 22:09Speaker 4: I met this girl and I met this girl and
- 22:10Speaker 4: they're so cute and like, you know, you learn all
- 22:13Speaker 4: the questions to ask people, and like, if you get
- 22:16Speaker 4: somebody talking about we actually did like a workshop to
- 22:19Speaker 4: like show you how to talk to people, and it's
- 22:22Speaker 4: stuck with me my whole life. But if you get
- 22:24Speaker 4: really great lesson it is and if you can get
- 22:26Speaker 4: people to talk about themselves, they only remember you're right,
- 22:31Speaker 4: like it that it was a good Like that's good.
- 22:33Speaker 4: They like them more because they were talking about themselves,
- 22:36Speaker 4: because everyone loves themselves deep down and they just want
- 22:39Speaker 4: to talk about themselves. So if you can get a
- 22:41Speaker 4: girl talking about themselves, they will like.
- 22:44Speaker 5: You more and like your house.
- 22:46Speaker 2: Are you saying that you would recommend for people who
- 22:51Speaker 2: because you are the most recent of the three of
- 22:53Speaker 2: us to go through this For my daughter, are you
- 22:56Speaker 2: saying that you would recommend for her to make the
- 23:00Speaker 2: active talk about themselves so that it leaves a positive
- 23:05Speaker 2: input and question.
- 23:07Speaker 4: I feel like if you can find common ground with
- 23:10Speaker 4: someone and like ask questions, that will, like, you know,
- 23:14Speaker 4: help you find that.
- 23:15Speaker 5: Like honestly, I.
- 23:17Speaker 4: Got to find my notebook from my therapist because she
- 23:19Speaker 4: gave me some really go.
- 23:22Speaker 5: Will because it was like truly amazing.
- 23:24Speaker 4: She like gave me like a bullet point list of
- 23:25Speaker 4: like how to get people to open up. And I
- 23:29Speaker 4: got it before I went on the show because I
- 23:32Speaker 4: was like, I'm scared of all these girls, like I
- 23:34Speaker 4: like feel like I'm like I don't know what I'm
- 23:36Speaker 4: gonna do. I like feel like I can't talk to people.
- 23:38Speaker 4: And she was like, no, you're really good at talking
- 23:40Speaker 4: to people. I was like, like, well what do you do?
- 23:42Speaker 4: Like you're the therapist, You've got me to say a
- 23:43Speaker 4: lot of secrets here.
- 23:45Speaker 2: I was like, like, give me something to work with, Megan.
- 23:52Speaker 2: So she did.
- 23:54Speaker 5: Thank you to her. But I still have the notebook and.
- 23:59Speaker 3: You send me a page of that too.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Personal stuff. But it's not just this genius questions. I
- 24:07Speaker 2: love this.
- 24:07Speaker 4: I remember the questions now, but it was just question
- 24:11Speaker 4: people feel comfortable opening up.
- 24:13Speaker 5: To you and like they don't. I don't know, you
- 24:16Speaker 5: just want people to feel safe totally.
- 24:19Speaker 2: And I feel like, yes, it's great from an active
- 24:21Speaker 2: perspective of looking at p and ms and thinking like
- 24:24Speaker 2: I want to leave this impression because I want them
- 24:27Speaker 2: to like my house. But I also think it's amazing
- 24:31Speaker 2: for the p and ms to have to be able
- 24:33Speaker 2: to make the active feel loved and listen to and
- 24:37Speaker 2: heard because they want to leave a positive impression on
- 24:40Speaker 2: them and they can get into the house.
- 24:41Speaker 4: And they will stand If you really love someone, you
- 24:44Speaker 4: will stand up.
- 24:45Speaker 2: I remember that. Yeah, yeah, you fight for people that
- 24:49Speaker 2: you love you all right. This has been amazing, Like
- 24:51Speaker 2: I seriously feel like we could talk for hours, Like
- 24:56Speaker 2: I just want to pick your brain, Like literally, I'm
- 24:58Speaker 2: going to get your number and I'm I'd even call
- 25:00Speaker 2: you next year and be like, Gabby, can you talk
- 25:03Speaker 2: to blakesleep.
- 25:06Speaker 6: Like camp starts now at the beginning of the summer
- 25:11Speaker 6: three months and you show we're going.
- 25:15Speaker 2: To play a pickle. Thank you everybody for listening. This
- 25:18Speaker 2: is Dirty Rush and this has been trista and amazing.
- 25:23Speaker 2: I'm Gabby, You're amazing and everybody can listen to a
- 25:28Speaker 2: Dirty Rush podcast on Instagram and TikTok. Thank you for
- 25:31Speaker 2: listening okay,
