0:09
SPEAKER_01: Hi, and welcome to this episode of Assassin's Sips.
0:12
SPEAKER_01: Today we are going to begin covering the Fox show reunion.
0:23
SPEAKER_01: Uh, it aired originally in, I believe, 2005.
0:29
SPEAKER_00: 2005.
0:30
SPEAKER_01: It was only one season.
0:32
SPEAKER_01: And we're gonna start coverage of that, and we have both never seen this show.
0:38
SPEAKER_01: We're watching it for the first time.
0:41
SPEAKER_01: Yes, so come along, join us to find out what this show is all about.
0:45
SPEAKER_01: I'm Lisa, I'm one of your hosts, and today I am sipping on my good old red wine buddy.
0:52
SPEAKER_00: Nice.
0:53
SPEAKER_00: Mr.
0:53
SPEAKER_01: Malbeck.
0:54
SPEAKER_00: One of your 101 bottles, because she has a whole wine saddle.
0:57
SPEAKER_00: She's a wine cellar.
1:00
SPEAKER_00: And I'm Agnes, and I'm already been sipping on my apple cider moonshine.
1:08
SPEAKER_00: My co-work gave it to me for the holidays.
1:10
SPEAKER_00: Like, yay! Now, this season, as Lisa said, is a one-season show.
1:13
SPEAKER_00: And it was um, they were just cruel because they aired, there was 14 episodes or 13 episodes.
1:20
SPEAKER_00: There was 13 episodes, but they only aired nine before they're like, okay, this is enough.
1:25
SPEAKER_00: This ain't working.
1:26
SPEAKER_00: So a lot of people watching it at the time was so they didn't get to they didn't they didn't get to finish.
1:37
SPEAKER_01: So did it?
1:38
SPEAKER_01: So it was supposed to be more than one season, and then it just never got both.
1:43
SPEAKER_00: Well, it's supposed to be well, I don't know if it was supposed to be more than one season, but it's definitely a 13-episode season, but they only aired nine.
1:53
SPEAKER_00: So I'm not even sure if the end of the season was was and you've never watched it.
2:01
SPEAKER_00: Never watched it.
2:02
SPEAKER_01: Okay, so you've picked this show.
2:05
SPEAKER_01: How did you take it?
2:07
SPEAKER_00: Like, you know, how did it come to my manager who's also a listener of us, um, and I still have a job.
2:14
SPEAKER_00: Wow.
2:14
SPEAKER_00: Um I don't remember how the show per se came up, but she brought it up.
2:24
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
2:24
SPEAKER_00: And I was like, oh, okay.
2:27
SPEAKER_00: And I think from there, you and I decided to do a mini-season of one season shows.
2:34
SPEAKER_01: Something that like flips the script because obviously the premise of Assassin's Sips is watch, rewatch, one of us has seen, one of us hasn't.
2:43
SPEAKER_01: You know, we pick a show that we've seen, things the other should watch, so on, so forth, blah, blah, blah.
2:47
SPEAKER_01: You've heard it all before.
2:49
SPEAKER_01: But in that process, you and I, even with the reality shows and doing lost, we almost always have the same take.
3:08
SPEAKER_01: So this is a fun little experiment because now it's like, okay, well, you and I both haven't seen, so I wonder if we'll s if our brains will still be swimming the right way.
3:18
SPEAKER_01: Or not the right way, but like the same way.
3:21
SPEAKER_00: No, because it's the same way is the only way, so that's the right way.
3:24
SPEAKER_00: Oh, woman?
3:25
SPEAKER_00: Okay, obviously.
3:27
SPEAKER_00: I yeah, I'm excited for this.
3:29
SPEAKER_01: The first episode is titled 1986.
3:33
SPEAKER_01: And I mean, you're gonna take the lead.
3:35
SPEAKER_00: Wait, did you get the title?
3:36
SPEAKER_01: Did you give them the title?
3:38
SPEAKER_01: I don't, I don't know.
3:40
SPEAKER_00: We are watching reunion.
3:43
SPEAKER_01: Yes, I said I did say that.
3:44
SPEAKER_01: That's what I'm saying.
3:45
SPEAKER_01: We don't remember one season show reunion.
3:47
SPEAKER_00: Okay, so I don't know.
3:48
SPEAKER_01: So today we're gonna talk about season one.
3:50
SPEAKER_01: There was only one season, but season one, episode one, called 1986.
3:55
SPEAKER_00: 1986.
3:56
SPEAKER_01: I have a hot take.
3:58
SPEAKER_00: Give me your hot take.
4:00
SPEAKER_01: I have one hot take.
4:02
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
4:03
SPEAKER_01: That did not look like 1986.
4:07
SPEAKER_01: Um the music was on point.
4:10
SPEAKER_01: Yes.
4:11
SPEAKER_01: Although, although I have one issue with the music.
4:15
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
4:16
SPEAKER_01: Okay, I loved all the music.
4:18
SPEAKER_01: I mean, I obviously like we were there.
4:21
SPEAKER_01: I mean, I recognized it all.
4:22
SPEAKER_00: I need I'm like, oh wait, where's the boom box at?
4:24
SPEAKER_00: Like, I feel like they're gonna like play in someone's window.
4:26
SPEAKER_01: But that's whoo, and you just see, you just like touched on it, right?
4:29
SPEAKER_01: And even the instrumental OMD at the end with the kiss, and it's like, oh, that's beautiful.
4:36
SPEAKER_01: Aside from like when you hear it and it's like on the radio, and then the um then the the guy is watching the wham video, and uh, but they're in the house and they're listening to music.
4:46
SPEAKER_01: The fuck?
4:46
SPEAKER_01: There were no Bluetooth speakers, there were no CDs really yet.
4:50
SPEAKER_01: So, like, how the fuck were they just listening to the music?
4:53
SPEAKER_01: All different things.
4:55
SPEAKER_00: Okay, my take on that is that they're at Craig's house.
4:58
SPEAKER_00: Craig is super uber rich.
4:59
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we don't know what kind of sound system they had.
5:02
SPEAKER_00: They still have remote controlled sound systems, you put the speakers in.
5:04
SPEAKER_01: They're all like in a huddle and the music is changing.
5:08
SPEAKER_01: Because she was like, Oh, how about this?
5:09
SPEAKER_01: And then she changed it, but then something else came on.
5:13
SPEAKER_01: And so you you know, either you put on a record, but and and even though the records can change, okay, I'm I'm being a stickler.
5:21
SPEAKER_01: Like my dad is a musician.
5:23
SPEAKER_01: Okay, you'll be like, and we didn't grow up with a lot.
5:26
SPEAKER_00: I know, but um but you're gonna kill the she's gonna kill the vibe.
5:30
SPEAKER_01: I am gonna kill the vibe.
5:32
SPEAKER_01: So, like we didn't grow up with a lot, but when it came to like music, records, I mean CDs, tapes, shit, even eight tracks, like my dad had because he was a musician, he was a musician, so like I'm I don't know everything.
5:50
SPEAKER_01: But you know this, but I know that even when you have the record players that would go to another one, there was a gap in time because they had to remove and then put a new one.
6:04
SPEAKER_01: It's not like now digital music where you just press something and boom, it starts playing.
6:09
SPEAKER_01: Okay, so even tapes had a delay, and tapes couldn't do it by themselves.
6:13
SPEAKER_00: Okay, so just so you don't kill yourself, I'm not throughout the whole season where they try to like fuck up the past.
6:21
SPEAKER_00: I I just had to get that off of my chest.
6:23
SPEAKER_00: Imagine that part of like one song is definitely them playing, but the other song that you hear is just background music, it's not them playing it, even though they're in the house.
6:31
SPEAKER_01: So just pretend that it's just well in a scene where they're dancing and talking about the music in your head.
6:39
SPEAKER_01: I'm just I'm just putting it out there, okay?
6:41
SPEAKER_01: It's not I love you, the end all be all.
6:44
SPEAKER_01: I'm just putting it out there because that the music both I loved it and it and the way they presented it bothered me.
6:56
SPEAKER_01: The content I liked, the presentation I didn't, because I'm like it's out of time.
7:01
SPEAKER_01: Part of me said that if I was watching this show and I had no idea what year when it was supposed to take place, I would have been like, uh, it looks like 1993.
7:13
SPEAKER_00: You know, yeah, yeah, yeah.
7:15
SPEAKER_01: Like the clothes, the scenery, like aside from a few well-placed like things that were like like a wham video on T on the old tube TV, it's like, okay.
7:26
SPEAKER_00: Um I kind of feel like it definitely gives 2005 tries to be 1986.
7:33
SPEAKER_00: And I think everything in the 80s was brown, okay?
7:36
SPEAKER_00: And I kind of and I kind of feel like they should have had more.
7:40
SPEAKER_00: I I doubt the people, the writers.
7:42
SPEAKER_00: Or pea soup colored.
7:45
SPEAKER_00: I don't know about your 80s, my 80s didn't look like that.
7:48
SPEAKER_00: Well, my 80s did not look like what color was your 80s?
7:51
SPEAKER_00: Okay, so my apartment in Manhattan was burnt orange.
7:56
SPEAKER_00: No, my mother It was all everything was a holdover from the 70s.
8:00
SPEAKER_00: My mother painted the walls like a mauve.
8:04
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
8:04
SPEAKER_00: And then we had burgundy couches, like couch was burgundy.
8:10
SPEAKER_01: But it was but it was like bold and then the subtle colors.
8:15
SPEAKER_01: I can't I can't explain it better, right?
8:18
SPEAKER_01: But the colors were bold, but it wasn't like hot pink, but you had like these bold colors.
8:25
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, oh the the fucking wood paneling, please.
8:27
SPEAKER_01: But what color was wood panel?
8:30
SPEAKER_01: Oh, you didn't have wood paneling?
8:31
SPEAKER_01: Oh, because we did.
8:32
SPEAKER_00: No, we didn't have panel.
8:33
SPEAKER_01: We had blue panels.
8:34
SPEAKER_01: The carpets were either like gray or dark blue, or in my room they were like that burnt orange color.
8:41
SPEAKER_01: So it was dark, but like not so in the world.
8:46
SPEAKER_00: Well, it lived in high rises and apartment buildings, and like the ones I remember, like I think my first memory memory.
8:53
SPEAKER_01: And the noleum.
8:54
SPEAKER_00: No, it was they were hardwood floors, it was a new construct in the middle of Manhattan, so it was relatively new.
9:00
SPEAKER_00: So there was that.
9:02
SPEAKER_00: Before that were high rises in Midtown.
9:05
SPEAKER_00: Although, when we moved down to Tennessee for one year, they did have green shack carpeting, but no, yeah, yeah, but everything else is white and no wood panelings.
9:15
SPEAKER_01: Oh, lucky you.
9:16
SPEAKER_00: No, and then we moved to Brooklyn, and that was totally clean.
9:21
SPEAKER_01: Like it was And there was even in my in my kitchen, the wallpaper had like all these images.
9:29
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, wallpaper.
9:30
SPEAKER_01: All these images of like food stuff.
10:02
SPEAKER_00: I was gonna say that because that's like that's like 80s wallpaper.
10:05
SPEAKER_01: I can't remember exactly what it was, but it was like food related.
10:09
SPEAKER_01: I remember and it was like highlighted with orange, there was a lot of orange in the kitchen.
10:14
SPEAKER_01: I feel like wasn't that all like three's company also?
10:19
SPEAKER_00: I'm just joking.
10:20
SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
10:20
SPEAKER_00: I'm trying to I don't remember.
10:22
SPEAKER_00: I feel like that like I've never lived in that wallpapering, but I remember seeing that wallpaper everywhere.
10:26
SPEAKER_00: So it must have been on TV.
10:28
SPEAKER_00: It had to be.
10:29
SPEAKER_01: Maybe hysterical.
10:31
SPEAKER_01: I mean, after like my dad finally remodeled, and then when they pulled down the wallpaper, I guess when they put it up, there was like shit that my mom had written with her cousins behind the wallpaper.
10:42
SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's so cool.
10:44
SPEAKER_00: Okay, that's a memory.
10:45
SPEAKER_01: It was funny, yeah.
10:46
SPEAKER_01: But like, yeah, it was just and it wasn't like a dark orange, it was like it was like this color, orange.
10:53
SPEAKER_01: Like orange, orange, orange, orange, like actually like an orange, yeah.
10:58
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
11:00
SPEAKER_00: My hot take when I see it.
11:01
SPEAKER_01: And then it was a dark red, yeah.
11:03
SPEAKER_00: Sorry, go ahead.
11:04
SPEAKER_00: She's having she's having flashbacks.
11:05
SPEAKER_01: I'm coloring the 80s.
11:07
SPEAKER_00: My hot my hot take, I like watching older shows, like older, because you're like, oh, so and so's first show.
11:16
SPEAKER_00: And you like you see them with their babies.
11:19
SPEAKER_00: Um, we see Will Estes, who plays Will from Blue Bloods.
11:24
SPEAKER_01: Blue Bloods, yeah.
11:25
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, oh, always the moder.
11:26
SPEAKER_00: Great.
11:27
SPEAKER_00: Um, something's never changed.
11:29
SPEAKER_00: We see, well, we're going to as my I'm gonna throw up my things.
11:33
SPEAKER_00: Um, Bob was excited to see like baby faces.
11:37
SPEAKER_00: We'll get to the other St.
11:38
SPEAKER_00: James.
11:40
SPEAKER_01: Saint St.
11:41
SPEAKER_01: James, I think is his last name.
11:44
SPEAKER_01: The guy from he was the cop, but he was also in Six Feet Under.
11:49
SPEAKER_01: He played the the cop boyfriend in Six Feet Under.
11:52
SPEAKER_00: Um, I didn't watch Six Feet Under, but I remember his face.
11:55
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, Well, I started it.
11:58
SPEAKER_00: Yes, you did in season was Assassin's F season two?
12:02
SPEAKER_00: Sason three?
12:03
SPEAKER_00: Something like that, yeah.
12:04
SPEAKER_00: Okay, yeah.
12:04
SPEAKER_00: We don't we don't talk about that.
12:06
SPEAKER_01: So no, no, no.
12:07
SPEAKER_01: Just I'm just teasing.
12:08
SPEAKER_01: We just never finished, yeah.
12:10
SPEAKER_01: We just weren't able to finish.
12:11
SPEAKER_01: But um text text us if you could tell us what color your 80s were.
12:16
SPEAKER_01: If you were there.
12:19
SPEAKER_00: Text us the colors of your 80s.
12:21
SPEAKER_00: The fact that you said if you were there, this another gray hair popped out.
12:26
SPEAKER_01: I don't I don't want to exclude people is beyond their control.
12:31
SPEAKER_00: No, but the fact that we're even old enough to represent something that no one else wasn't there for, that makes me feel old.
12:38
SPEAKER_00: I hate to break this to you, but it's because we are reunion 1986.
12:48
SPEAKER_00: So the scene opens up at a funeral, and the high school friend opens up you can't talk about one without talking about the other.
12:59
SPEAKER_00: So someone's dead, someone you went to high school with, and then the scene opens up to 1986.
13:07
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
13:08
SPEAKER_01: So it's cool because like it opens in and they tell you it's the present time.
13:15
SPEAKER_01: And then as the guy's giving the eulogy, it's like one of those fade back, which the music starts playing.
13:25
SPEAKER_01: I mean, there's only one acceptable song to lead in on a hey, yeah.
13:32
SPEAKER_00: And they got it.
13:33
SPEAKER_00: They got it right, they got it right.
13:35
SPEAKER_00: Because in my head, that's what I want to hear.
13:37
SPEAKER_01: That's exactly what brings you right back, especially when you talk about high school, and it's like, okay, obviously you're gonna have that song.
13:45
SPEAKER_01: Like, yeah, yeah.
13:47
SPEAKER_01: So it's uh sim Simple Minds, and that's the only acceptable song, so at least they got that right.
13:53
SPEAKER_00: They did pretty damn good with this um background music here.
13:58
SPEAKER_00: In 1986, we were introduced to six friends at the graduate from high school in upstate New York town.
14:05
SPEAKER_00: Carla.
14:06
SPEAKER_00: Lexi! For Gray's Anatomy fans.
14:10
SPEAKER_01: Oh, I was like, I don't know what you're talking about.
14:12
SPEAKER_00: Lexi, Grace Anatomy.
14:16
SPEAKER_01: I don't watch that.
14:17
SPEAKER_01: I mean, I started it, but I never finished it.
14:20
SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, great Lexi was um Meredith's half-sister.
14:25
SPEAKER_00: Okay, and she also started dating McSteamy, huh?
14:30
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
14:32
SPEAKER_00: Carla, who is in love with her best friend Aaron.
14:36
SPEAKER_00: But he's in love with Jenna.
14:39
SPEAKER_01: Jenna?
14:39
SPEAKER_01: The Madonna.
14:40
SPEAKER_00: The Madonna, right.
14:41
SPEAKER_00: Jenna, in case you don't, I don't know if you remember.
14:43
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, except for her clothing.
14:44
SPEAKER_01: I was like, okay, well, her clothing looked like it's 1986, but yes.
14:49
SPEAKER_00: And I but I like the fact that they didn't have the big hair because this is still upstate New York.
14:52
SPEAKER_00: So there are certain types of, you know, you know.
14:57
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
14:57
SPEAKER_00: Each each region had its style.
15:01
SPEAKER_00: Like, you know, the Connecticut mom, and like everyone has their style.
15:04
SPEAKER_00: So this is upstate New York, so you wouldn't see the big teased hair.
15:07
SPEAKER_00: Like this was 1986 Jersey City, and it's a different story.
15:11
SPEAKER_01: Maybe, yeah.
15:12
SPEAKER_00: Or Brooklyn.
15:14
SPEAKER_00: Any year.
15:15
SPEAKER_00: Um, Jenna, the one we played Jenna, Jenna, can't remember her real name, was also in The Mentalist.
15:24
SPEAKER_00: Did you see that show?
15:25
SPEAKER_00: Nope.
15:25
SPEAKER_00: Nope.
15:26
SPEAKER_00: She was on the cops of the mentalist.
15:28
SPEAKER_00: So another, like, woo-hoo, flashback.
15:30
SPEAKER_00: She's a fame-seeking starlet who does not return Aaron's affection.
15:36
SPEAKER_00: We have Craig Brewster and Will.
15:38
SPEAKER_01: He dressed the part.
15:40
SPEAKER_00: Yes, he totally does.
15:42
SPEAKER_01: He dressed the party on my way out of the parts.
15:45
SPEAKER_01: I don't know what's it.
15:46
SPEAKER_01: With his two polo shirts.
15:48
SPEAKER_00: Oh my I remember the two polo.
15:50
SPEAKER_00: I remember the two polo shirts.
15:52
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
15:53
SPEAKER_00: And as you know, Will SD some blue bloods.
15:56
SPEAKER_00: They're best friends, despite their background.
15:59
SPEAKER_00: Will comes from a poor family and Craig from a wealthy family.
16:03
SPEAKER_00: So this scene is all of them at Craig's house after the graduation ceremony.
16:10
SPEAKER_00: You know, she's dancing, Erin's lamenting, looking like a lost puppy dog.
16:16
SPEAKER_00: Carla's making fun of him.
16:19
SPEAKER_01: Sam's taking a pregnancy test.
16:21
SPEAKER_01: It's so 80s.
16:22
SPEAKER_00: I'm so sorry.
16:25
SPEAKER_00: So Sam is Craig's girlfriend.
16:28
SPEAKER_00: And this is the time when Carla walks in and she knows about the pregnancy test because she's hijacking it from her father's pharmacy and Sam confides that it's not Craig's.
16:41
SPEAKER_00: Once again, so fucking 80s.
16:43
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
16:45
SPEAKER_01: Haven't you ever heard of pulling out?
16:47
SPEAKER_01: Obviously.
16:50
SPEAKER_00: They had condoms.
16:52
SPEAKER_00: These also teenagers and teenagers do stupid shit.
16:54
SPEAKER_01: That's true.
16:55
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
16:56
SPEAKER_00: Um, this is what I call the the perfect toast.
17:02
SPEAKER_00: I call it like the perfect friends, or we'll be friends forever.
17:05
SPEAKER_00: This is the kiss of death toast.
17:07
SPEAKER_00: I call it that in every movie, every TV show, it's the kiss of death toast.
17:13
SPEAKER_00: I don't care.
17:14
SPEAKER_00: It's it's TV, it's TV MO.
17:17
SPEAKER_00: And that's and this is when they should have like the overlay.
17:22
SPEAKER_01: Yes.
17:22
SPEAKER_01: They in fact did not become fucked this was not perfect.
17:28
SPEAKER_00: And then the horror movie um music in the background.
17:31
SPEAKER_00: After the graduation ceremony, Greg and Will get into a car accident when they collide with the pickup truck while driving drunk.
17:38
SPEAKER_00: Oh, so surprising.
17:39
SPEAKER_00: Yes, once again, very 80s.
17:40
SPEAKER_00: I'm because they're really good with this.
17:42
SPEAKER_00: They're really good with the riding here.
17:44
SPEAKER_01: Well, they were celebrating, graduating, and they and they're drinking, and then they want to go on a beer run.
17:50
SPEAKER_01: You live in upstate New York.
17:52
SPEAKER_01: A beer run isn't just around the corner.
17:54
SPEAKER_01: Like you should have been more prepared.
17:55
SPEAKER_01: You have a shit ton of money.
17:56
SPEAKER_01: Like you don't have any more alcohol in your house.
17:58
SPEAKER_00: They have the hard liquor, but they're just they're still kids.
18:01
SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
18:01
SPEAKER_00: He just wanted to drive his really fast car.
18:04
SPEAKER_00: That's what it was.
18:04
SPEAKER_01: The poor Tom Cruise impression.
18:07
SPEAKER_00: Because you know, he goes, it's the yellow light.
18:09
SPEAKER_00: You know what that means.
18:10
SPEAKER_00: Like it's something that they do.
18:12
unknown: Yeah.
18:12
SPEAKER_00: It's something that they do.
18:14
SPEAKER_00: Oh, causes a car accident.
18:15
SPEAKER_00: The pickup um they get T-boned.
18:19
SPEAKER_00: They get T-boned, but somehow the truck ends up with more damage.
18:23
SPEAKER_01: Um Well, because he hit them head on, so I guess.
18:28
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
18:29
SPEAKER_01: It you know, it could.
18:32
SPEAKER_01: I mean, if he went like they're going sideways.
18:37
SPEAKER_00: And also a TV show with the script.
18:40
SPEAKER_01: Like the guy in the truck should have not been as hurt, but he went head first, so he might have hit his head and I don't know about the just the truck itself looked like it had more damage.
18:51
SPEAKER_01: Oh, I yeah.
18:52
SPEAKER_01: The truck itself.
18:53
SPEAKER_00: I'm not talking about the aftermath.
18:54
SPEAKER_00: The truck itself.
18:55
SPEAKER_00: I'm just like, um, okay.
18:57
SPEAKER_00: You would think Craig's um little sports car would have had more like flips and rolls for being hit.
19:03
SPEAKER_00: Anyway.
19:04
SPEAKER_00: And of course, Craig asks Will to take the rap for the junk driving accident because it'll hurt Craig more than it hurt the poor kid.
19:11
SPEAKER_00: Right.
19:12
SPEAKER_00: Um, because you know he's going to Brown, and you know, we can't do that.
19:17
SPEAKER_00: And it will not go to collar.
19:19
SPEAKER_00: So what difference does it make?
19:20
SPEAKER_00: At this point, Will, out of blind loyalty, but was it?
19:25
SPEAKER_00: Um, to his best friend, he does.
19:27
SPEAKER_00: He's like, fine, I'll do it.
19:29
SPEAKER_00: So after um Will tells a cop, well, of course you have to arrest him, but why are you arresting him?
19:35
SPEAKER_00: I'm the one that's driving.
19:38
SPEAKER_00: Um, it cuts to Aaron and Carl in a diner.
19:41
SPEAKER_00: And he's lamenting over being in love with Jenna and his his unrequited love.
19:48
SPEAKER_00: And you can look at Carl and you see that she's so in love with this doofus, and he's so not getting it.
19:55
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
19:56
SPEAKER_00: You I'm like, okay, that sounds about par.
19:58
SPEAKER_00: FYI.
20:00
SPEAKER_01: There's always the unrequited love.
20:01
SPEAKER_00: FYI that doesn't change how old you get.
20:04
SPEAKER_00: That's true.
20:06
SPEAKER_00: Meanwhile, as they're having this love talk, Craig is um wheeling Will out the hospital.
20:15
SPEAKER_00: Craig calls, Craig goes to call.
20:17
SPEAKER_00: I never understand why did Craig have to call Will's father to let him know, like, oh, he's leaving.
20:22
SPEAKER_00: But that also gave the the writers the opportunity so Sam and Will could have a moment of, and this is when she says she's pregnant with his baby.
20:31
SPEAKER_01: My guess is that it's it's to somehow illustrate the fact that Will comes from a less fortunate family and that maybe his father couldn't be there because he had to work or he couldn't get the time.
20:49
SPEAKER_00: But why did Craig have to call him?
20:50
SPEAKER_00: Why couldn't I get it?
20:52
SPEAKER_00: Couldn't Will call him?
20:53
SPEAKER_00: Right.
20:53
SPEAKER_00: That was the weird part, but it had to that they have to get Sam and Will private time to talk.
20:58
SPEAKER_00: But that was a weird way to do it.
21:00
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
21:02
SPEAKER_01: I guess may maybe, maybe because he had talked, you know, viewing it from now, it's a little bit more like we're so accustomed to our cell phones, so everybody has their own phone.
21:18
SPEAKER_01: And I mean, I'm sure you remember that back then.
21:22
SPEAKER_01: Well didn't have a quarter.
21:23
SPEAKER_01: You don't you didn't even always have the ability to make calls from the hospital.
21:28
SPEAKER_01: You had to pay for the telephone.
21:30
SPEAKER_00: You had to attach it to your house phone.
21:32
SPEAKER_01: Like you had I don't remember exactly how it worked, but you had a you had to pay to have like the TV in the whole in the hotel, in the hospital room turned on.
21:39
SPEAKER_01: You had to pay to use the cell to the telephone.
21:42
SPEAKER_01: So maybe he didn't have it, and Craig is the one who, you know, he called the dad and was like, oh, don't worry, I'll call you when we're on our way.
21:51
SPEAKER_01: So he's just trying to be like just being the friend.
21:55
SPEAKER_00: I call, it's fine.
21:56
SPEAKER_00: I get it.
21:57
SPEAKER_01: I said I'd do it, so I'll do it.
21:59
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's fine, but still it's still a weird segue.
22:03
SPEAKER_00: It is to get them that moment of privacy.
22:06
SPEAKER_01: Right, because it could have just been like, hey, let's stop and call your dad and let him know.
22:10
SPEAKER_00: But he was like, Oh, there's a phone, I'm gonna call your dad.
22:12
SPEAKER_00: Right.
22:12
SPEAKER_00: That was I was like, oh, okay.
22:16
SPEAKER_00: So, like I said, they couldn't have that private moment.
22:19
SPEAKER_01: And um, whose car did they get into?
22:25
SPEAKER_00: I I had a feeling it was Samantha's.
22:27
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
22:28
SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
22:28
SPEAKER_00: I did they didn't say, but I did I like either I didn't I didn't notice.
22:34
SPEAKER_00: Craig has multiple cars.
22:36
SPEAKER_00: Which they really did.
22:37
SPEAKER_00: They didn't show the actual car.
22:39
SPEAKER_00: So you don't know what kind of car it was.
22:41
SPEAKER_00: It's just so a car.
22:42
SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
22:43
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
22:43
SPEAKER_00: Um, and the fact that they l she was left out there and waiting for them to come out.
22:48
SPEAKER_00: I mean, yeah.
22:49
SPEAKER_00: I just got the vibe that was her car.
22:51
SPEAKER_00: That makes sense.
22:52
SPEAKER_00: Next scene is them pull about, you know, they're the kids.
22:57
SPEAKER_00: What did they call the gang is at the diner waiting for them.
23:01
SPEAKER_00: And you can see them pulling up to the street in the cop car behind it.
23:06
SPEAKER_00: Okay, fine.
23:07
SPEAKER_00: Cool.
23:08
SPEAKER_00: What do you want now?
23:09
SPEAKER_00: Well gets arrested for manslaughter.
23:12
SPEAKER_00: Because the driver, the driver passed away from his injuries.
23:18
SPEAKER_00: Holy mother of balls.
23:20
SPEAKER_00: Surprise.
23:21
SPEAKER_00: No, it really wasn't that big of a surprise.
23:23
SPEAKER_00: Anyone who watches TV knows this is TV, this is canon.
23:27
SPEAKER_00: For anyone who takes on the rap of someone else, it gets worse.
23:31
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
23:32
SPEAKER_00: Fast forward is 2006, present day.
23:35
SPEAKER_01: You know when the group has been murdered, and then they're all and we don't know which one.
23:42
SPEAKER_01: We don't know who it is.
23:43
SPEAKER_00: We just know one of them is the one of them has been murdered.
23:45
SPEAKER_01: We know nothing except somebody is dead.
23:47
SPEAKER_01: Right.
23:48
SPEAKER_00: Right.
23:48
SPEAKER_00: Detective Kenneth, how do you pronounce it?
23:51
SPEAKER_00: Margarino?
23:53
SPEAKER_00: Okay, that's how we're gonna pronounce it.
23:55
SPEAKER_00: As to talk to a woman about the murder.
23:57
SPEAKER_00: You just see her back, and she's just like We don't see who it is.
24:00
SPEAKER_00: Oh she's just so inconvenienced.
24:03
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
24:05
SPEAKER_00: Flashback again.
24:06
SPEAKER_00: This is after they pull off, after they arrest Will.
24:10
SPEAKER_00: You see Jenna.
24:11
SPEAKER_00: They're all in the car and they're just chit-chatting.
24:14
SPEAKER_00: They see the English teacher.
24:15
SPEAKER_00: Jenna gets her little boobs up.
24:18
SPEAKER_00: She does that shit.
24:19
SPEAKER_00: Boobs out, you know, ass out.
24:21
SPEAKER_01: She shakes a flat ass.
24:22
SPEAKER_00: And no wonder she's never missed a day of fan.
24:28
SPEAKER_00: And then the camera pants to Aaron just moping and Carla looking for Lauren.
24:33
SPEAKER_01: Um well, she invites him, she invites the teacher to the party.
24:39
SPEAKER_00: That's intelligent.
24:41
SPEAKER_00: I love that.
24:41
SPEAKER_00: This is a great idea to have a high school teacher go into a high school graduation party.
24:46
SPEAKER_00: That makes so much sense.
24:47
SPEAKER_01: I was like, what the fuck?
24:48
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
24:49
SPEAKER_01: And then I realized we're being at first I thought you were being serious.
24:51
SPEAKER_01: And I was like, because we were like, that's intelligent.
24:53
SPEAKER_01: And I was like, wait, it's not.
24:58
SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna have my cue cards into sarcasm here.
25:02
SPEAKER_00: Sorry.
25:04
SPEAKER_00: Carla and Sam are talking about um what happens next.
25:08
SPEAKER_00: And Sam was like, nope, I set up an appointment.
25:10
SPEAKER_00: Carla's like, oh no, I still don't understand.
25:14
SPEAKER_00: Maybe I'm just thinking with this brain, like, but anyway, we're not gonna take abortion talk.
25:19
SPEAKER_00: We're not gonna do that because that's the whole soapbox I don't want to get onto.
25:22
SPEAKER_01: No, I don't care.
25:24
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
25:24
SPEAKER_01: I'm just gonna say this like, I'm not advocating for an abortion is never birth control.
25:34
SPEAKER_01: But here comes a person who was offered a scholarship to go to London.
25:42
SPEAKER_00: Who didn't talk about that, did we?
25:44
SPEAKER_00: Their plans at the beginning of the episode.
25:48
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so okay, it's fine.
25:49
SPEAKER_01: But so she was offered a scholarship to London.
25:54
SPEAKER_01: She chose to turn that down to go to Brown to be with her boyfriend, Chris.
25:58
SPEAKER_00: Always a dumb move, people.
26:00
SPEAKER_01: It's a dumb move, but even still She has plans for her life.
26:05
SPEAKER_01: Brown is not community college.
26:09
SPEAKER_01: So you're still that like it's not the school itself about changing your life plans for a man.
26:14
SPEAKER_01: Don't you you gotta stay true to yourself.
26:17
SPEAKER_01: But her plan still included college.
26:20
SPEAKER_01: Her plan still included her goals.
26:23
SPEAKER_01: And I feel like if she is saying, I want to abort this fetus, because it ain't a baby.
26:36
SPEAKER_01: If you can't claim it on your income tax, if it's not double homicide, it ain't a baby, it's a fetus.
26:42
SPEAKER_01: And her friend to be like, oh my god, no, don't do that.
26:49
SPEAKER_01: Don't make her feel guilty for her choice.
26:51
SPEAKER_01: You're her friend, just support her, even if you don't agree with it.
26:54
SPEAKER_01: And you or you could say, listen, I respect your decision and I get why you're making it.
27:02
SPEAKER_01: I wouldn't do it, even still, is like better, but not great.
27:07
SPEAKER_01: But not great.
27:08
SPEAKER_01: There should be no buts.
27:09
SPEAKER_01: But there should be no buts.
27:11
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and not even say the buttons.
27:16
SPEAKER_01: No matter what it is, but it's like, but don't make your friend feel bad.
27:20
SPEAKER_01: And but not when you're not ready for them.
27:23
SPEAKER_01: Especially when your opinion wasn't asked.
27:26
SPEAKER_01: Well, that's a good point.
27:27
SPEAKER_00: Even more so.
27:29
SPEAKER_01: Um, but Yeah, like you listen, we're old enough to see how there are people who had kids sooner and some of them are doing absolutely fantastic.
27:46
SPEAKER_01: Despite the, you know the extra hardship, yeah.
27:50
SPEAKER_01: The added hardship, right.
27:52
SPEAKER_01: But not every not everybody.
27:54
SPEAKER_01: Not it wasn't easy for everybody.
27:57
SPEAKER_01: And you don't know which is gonna be your your lot.
28:01
SPEAKER_01: So that's it.
28:03
SPEAKER_00: I'm off.
28:04
SPEAKER_00: I'm down.
28:05
SPEAKER_00: That was a very short soapbox.
28:07
SPEAKER_00: You're welcome.
28:08
SPEAKER_00: No, I'm not saying thank you.
28:09
SPEAKER_00: I'm not thanking you, but I'm surprised.
28:11
SPEAKER_00: I'm just like, wait, that was TV.
28:13
SPEAKER_01: Do you want me to go on?
28:14
SPEAKER_01: I think.
28:14
SPEAKER_00: No, I mean we have a whole episode with do tell.
28:18
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
28:21
SPEAKER_00: Um Will was invited over to Craig's house, you know, because his dad wants to talk to him and they have that heart to heart.
28:27
SPEAKER_00: And at this moment, Craig's father has the opportunity to manipulate Will into taking the manus the manslaughter rap for him.
28:34
SPEAKER_00: Like, how many people, by a show of hands, were surprised by this turn of events?
28:41
SPEAKER_00: Crickets.
28:41
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
28:48
SPEAKER_00: We're gonna have all the 80s references while we do this.
28:51
SPEAKER_01: I I'm gonna love this.
28:52
SPEAKER_01: Oh.
28:54
SPEAKER_01: We were there for all of it.
28:56
SPEAKER_01: Barely, but we were there for every single minute of the 80s.
29:00
SPEAKER_01: I have no complaints.
29:01
SPEAKER_01: No.
29:02
SPEAKER_01: No.
29:02
SPEAKER_01: Granted, I was like, you know, six in 1986, but who's counting?
29:08
SPEAKER_00: We're not counting.
29:08
SPEAKER_00: I like that though.
29:09
SPEAKER_00: We work double digits, so I'm okay with that.
29:12
SPEAKER_00: Um, as well as leave me, he bumps into sand.
29:16
SPEAKER_01: The only thing we graduated from in the 80s was kindergarten.
29:19
SPEAKER_01: I didn't go to kindergarten.
29:22
SPEAKER_01: It was a mandatory.
29:23
SPEAKER_01: Kindergarten and pre-K.
29:25
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
29:26
SPEAKER_01: You want to do that?
29:28
SPEAKER_01: My parents are like, ass needs to be somewhere.
29:30
SPEAKER_01: We gotta work.
29:31
SPEAKER_00: Do you know why I didn't go to kindergarten?
29:34
SPEAKER_00: Why?
29:35
SPEAKER_00: Because you're not gonna believe it.
29:37
SPEAKER_00: Because you know me.
29:38
SPEAKER_00: You know Agnes of today.
29:41
SPEAKER_00: When I was younger, and the whys is another story.
29:45
SPEAKER_00: But I didn't talk.
29:46
SPEAKER_00: I mean, I spoke, you know, I had, you know, no, but I wasn't quite verbal.
29:51
SPEAKER_00: I didn't talk to a lot of people.
29:52
SPEAKER_00: I kept to myself, I just would not speak unless I was at home with my mom.
29:58
SPEAKER_00: So my mother did not want me going to school if I wasn't going to verb.
30:02
SPEAKER_00: So I'm not, she wanted to make sure I'm like, oh, okay, I need to be verbalize something happened.
30:06
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
30:07
SPEAKER_01: Um that's that's why my kids didn't go to school until they can talk.
30:11
SPEAKER_00: So I did not go to kindergarten.
30:13
SPEAKER_00: And people are like, wait, you didn't talk.
30:16
SPEAKER_00: People who know me know, like the Lisa's, the Angie's, the one who knows me knows I can shut down, not talk, and we're good.
30:23
SPEAKER_00: It's like a comfortable silence.
30:25
SPEAKER_00: People who just know me superficially, they're like, Wait, you didn't talk?
30:28
SPEAKER_00: You're always talking.
30:31
SPEAKER_00: Because I gotta hold up the conversation because no one, you guys are boring.
30:37
SPEAKER_00: As well as leaving, he bumps into Sam and they talk about.
30:41
SPEAKER_00: She tells him, like, no, I'm gonna have it taken care of.
30:43
SPEAKER_00: And he was like, Oh, it would have been a beautiful child, and your brains and my something, you know.
30:48
SPEAKER_00: Right.
30:49
SPEAKER_01: So the whole thing is that her and Craig had broken up at some point.
30:54
SPEAKER_00: She said I'm leaving out a lot of stuff, aren't I?
30:57
SPEAKER_00: Because I feel like it's just like you're you are understood, but you're not.
31:01
SPEAKER_01: But I am, but I but like if you watched it, you get it get the context, but it's when you're saying it back, it's like you feel like, wait, did you miss something?
31:11
SPEAKER_01: So I'm just trying to I miss something.
31:13
SPEAKER_00: This is why we have two hosts on the show.
31:15
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so basically she's just saying like the situation was they slept together while her and Cray was broken up.
31:24
SPEAKER_01: It was only we were on a break.
31:27
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's the 90s.
31:30
SPEAKER_01: I know, but it's still fixed.
31:33
SPEAKER_01: Although, although I feel like I caught a friend's reference at the end.
31:38
SPEAKER_00: Really?
31:39
SPEAKER_01: Yes.
31:39
SPEAKER_01: Oh, yes.
31:40
SPEAKER_00: Come back to me on that when we get there.
31:42
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
31:42
SPEAKER_01: And um, yeah, and so then uh Will is like, I feel so bad.
31:47
SPEAKER_01: And she's like, Yeah, but in fairness, we were broken up, and he's like, Oh, but that's even worse.
31:51
SPEAKER_01: He was heartbroken.
31:52
SPEAKER_01: So I think that, yeah, you were right when Will is like, or was it out of friendship?
31:59
SPEAKER_01: Because might have been out of guilt.
32:01
SPEAKER_01: He fucked his girl, his best friend's girlfriend, and got her pregnant.
32:05
SPEAKER_01: Just a little bit of guilt.
32:06
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, just a little.
32:08
SPEAKER_00: Not enough to tell on yourself, but just enough for you to take a rap.
32:12
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
32:13
SPEAKER_00: We're not gonna um forward ourselves to present day.
32:18
SPEAKER_00: Detective is interviewing the Soki, chain smoking.
32:21
SPEAKER_00: Carla.
32:22
SPEAKER_00: Surprise, who couldn't tell there was Carla with the same haircut?
32:25
SPEAKER_01: Um so we know it's Carla who's not dead.
32:28
SPEAKER_00: So Carla's not dead.
32:30
SPEAKER_00: Carla's not dead, but she's a suspect.
32:32
SPEAKER_00: She's she's sus.
32:34
SPEAKER_00: Fast forward to present day Detective Marjorino.
32:37
SPEAKER_00: I keep changing his name.
32:38
SPEAKER_00: I want to change it cap to Detective M.
32:42
SPEAKER_00: Okay, let me let me go look on IMDB because I don't remember his name.
32:45
SPEAKER_00: Well, I got I got the name, I just don't know how to pronounce it.
32:47
SPEAKER_00: Well, that's what I'm saying, but like I have to look at it.
32:50
SPEAKER_00: Oh, Marjorina.
32:52
SPEAKER_00: And he asks about a locket found on the body.
32:56
SPEAKER_00: And somehow, this is when she starts talking more about them after graduation.
33:02
SPEAKER_00: Flashback.
33:02
SPEAKER_00: We do a lot of flashbacks and flash forwards, very reminiscent of lost.
33:07
SPEAKER_00: Flashback to Carl and Jenna are getting ready for Craig's party.
33:10
SPEAKER_00: I did at the end.
33:12
SPEAKER_01: I love my time with BC.
33:14
SPEAKER_01: St.
33:14
SPEAKER_01: Patrick, not St.
33:15
SPEAKER_01: James.
33:16
SPEAKER_01: What the hell?
33:17
SPEAKER_00: Carla and Jenna are getting ready for Craig's party at Carla's father's pharmacy, because that's where everyone gets ready for a party.
33:23
SPEAKER_00: Free makeup.
33:25
SPEAKER_01: Like honestly, it's not that's a but I like you see, and I like that they did it like the old school way, like with the counter.
33:32
SPEAKER_00: Yes.
33:33
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so I was like, okay, all right, I'll give you credit for that one.
33:36
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they get a lot of credit from your very um judgy TV botcher, at least us.
33:42
SPEAKER_01: I it's a it's it's just one of my quirks that I am always looking at.
33:48
SPEAKER_01: Dissecting things to fuck the scenery, because it's all gotta feel cohesive.
33:54
SPEAKER_01: And when it doesn't, it bothers me.
33:58
SPEAKER_01: I'm sorry.
34:01
SPEAKER_01: You want to watch TV with me, you gotta deal with it.
34:05
SPEAKER_00: Sorry.
34:06
SPEAKER_00: And this is why we watch the shows separately.
34:09
SPEAKER_00: You would never see Lisa and I watching the show together on our on our podcast.
34:14
SPEAKER_00: It would never happen.
34:15
SPEAKER_00: I would have to be three bottles in before you hit play.
34:23
SPEAKER_01: Um challenge accepted.
34:25
SPEAKER_00: Challenge.
34:26
SPEAKER_00: Challenge.
34:27
SPEAKER_01: One of the 80s.
34:29
SPEAKER_01: But I love that one.
34:31
SPEAKER_00: We don't talk about him, but challenge.
34:34
SPEAKER_00: No, we're not we're talking about the show, not him as a person.
34:38
SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, Carla and Jenna having their girl talk and with boys and talking about Aaron, of course.
34:47
SPEAKER_00: And this is like the realest line in this episode.
34:51
SPEAKER_00: Carla goes, she feels she would have been better with this boy stuff if her mother was still alive.
34:58
SPEAKER_00: Jenna's like, I think I would have done better with the boy stuff if my mother wasn't alive.
35:02
SPEAKER_01: Um Yeah, she's like, if my mother had died in childbirth, I think it would have been better.
35:06
SPEAKER_00: It would have been better.
35:07
SPEAKER_01: I'm like, ooh, ouch.
35:09
SPEAKER_01: Um, but you get a sense of It's such a teenage thing to say, though.
35:13
SPEAKER_00: But you get a sense of Jenna's home life at this point.
35:16
SPEAKER_00: Right.
35:16
SPEAKER_01: And didn't she allude to having been in and out of the house and her mother being a little I don't I didn't catch that, but you get the sense that she is a very very willing particip participant.
35:35
SPEAKER_00: You mean the mother?
35:36
SPEAKER_01: No, Jenna.
35:38
SPEAKER_00: No, because I don't want to say like she a hoe, but she a hoe.
35:44
SPEAKER_00: Right, but I think I think that comes from her home life.
35:48
SPEAKER_01: I think she's maybe I didn't I might not have caught that.
35:50
SPEAKER_00: I think either now or maybe later when she's talking to Aaron.
35:53
SPEAKER_00: Oh, it's later when she's talking to Aaron.
35:55
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
35:55
SPEAKER_00: That she kind of loses to her mother's easy ways.
35:59
SPEAKER_00: But I kind of like, I don't want to say I just like ignored it, but it's so it's such a common trope.
36:10
SPEAKER_00: Yes, thank you.
36:12
SPEAKER_00: So it kind of just went in one ear, not the other.
36:14
SPEAKER_00: Because I'm like, okay, that's what happened, and you move on.
36:17
SPEAKER_00: So Jenna leaves and she's waiting for Carla to follow her.
36:21
SPEAKER_00: And Jenna's father gives her a nice little pep talk.
36:24
SPEAKER_00: And I say pep talk with all the rabbit ears.
36:28
SPEAKER_00: And the short version is she's like, yeah, you grow up, you lose friends, you move on.
36:31
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like who oh, you're sad because you're not gonna see these people anymore.
36:35
SPEAKER_01: Who cares?
36:35
SPEAKER_01: You'll make it who cares.
36:37
SPEAKER_00: And I was just like, Oh, okay, but then watching it.
36:41
SPEAKER_00: Maybe it's later.
36:43
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, okay, obviously, his wife, her mother passed away when she was young, and I guess she's gonna be able to do it.
36:48
SPEAKER_00: She was also childbirth.
36:49
SPEAKER_00: Oh, she was 11.
36:50
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
36:50
SPEAKER_01: No, she was 11.
36:52
SPEAKER_00: Okay, right before puberty.
36:54
SPEAKER_00: Great.
36:54
SPEAKER_00: Father really doesn't know what the hell to do.
36:56
SPEAKER_01: So um the way listen, and I get it, because I mean my mother didn't pass, but my parents were divorced, and my father basically was the well like I don't I don't want to say like the single parent, because not like my mother wasn't involved.
37:21
SPEAKER_01: Like, how do you how do you say that?
37:24
SPEAKER_00: Like the guardian parent.
37:26
SPEAKER_01: My father was like the primary parent.
37:27
SPEAKER_00: Primary parent.
37:28
SPEAKER_01: So yes, I mean my mother was my mother was in the picture, but day to day, school, all that stuff, we mostly dealt with my dad.
37:40
SPEAKER_01: And so he tried, but and and he he still had my mom who was he was you know like to help and and as at one point my stepmother, but like my father was the kind of guy who just you know, these were his kids, he would do it himself.
37:58
SPEAKER_01: And I remember having to watch a very special episode of Blossom because he didn't know how to bring up the topic, and I'm like, Oh, oh, this is uncomfortable.
38:10
SPEAKER_01: I remember I remember sitting in Cousins on Court Street and him and Anna bringing up topics that I didn't quite understand then, but it was not them having a conversation, it was them bringing up things because they were trying to get us to talk about like shaving and and and like silly stupid things, but and so like it didn't hit me until later because the conversation like stuck with me like it's so odd.
38:45
SPEAKER_01: Like, why are we talking about shaving while we're eating at cousins?
38:50
SPEAKER_01: And you know, and then afterwards was like, Oh, I see what he was doing.
38:57
SPEAKER_01: Like he, you know, so I can appreciate that dad who kind of doesn't know and is just trying to do his best.
39:08
SPEAKER_01: I can get I can appreciate that.
39:10
SPEAKER_01: Poor guy.
39:10
SPEAKER_00: I kind of let me step him out now.
39:12
SPEAKER_00: I wanted to pat him on his head.
39:14
SPEAKER_01: I know, and then at first I was like, oh, that's that's a rough lesson, but then he redeems himself later, and you're like, he doesn't he just doesn't know, like he's not an asshole, he just doesn't know.
39:23
SPEAKER_00: And I think he really wanted a good attention.
39:25
SPEAKER_00: Like, I didn't want he didn't he doesn't want to feel sad.
39:27
SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
39:29
SPEAKER_01: You'll get new friends, it'll be fine.
39:32
SPEAKER_01: Right.
39:32
SPEAKER_01: Like he he wasn't trying to be callous and heartless, it was just clueless.
39:37
SPEAKER_01: Correct.
39:40
SPEAKER_00: Chrissy, please.
39:41
SPEAKER_00: I don't know what I'm talking about.
39:44
SPEAKER_00: Well, just okay.
39:46
SPEAKER_00: Um like um Sam.
39:47
SPEAKER_00: So now it goes back, so now we're at Carla's party.
39:50
SPEAKER_00: I'm sorry, Craig's party.
39:53
SPEAKER_00: Craig tells Sam, like, oh, this is what's happening.
39:57
SPEAKER_00: This is the conversation my dad had with Will, and she's pissed.
40:00
SPEAKER_00: She's like, Are you both are you both morons?
40:04
SPEAKER_00: Um, obviously taking away the fact that that's her baby daddy, and so she has a personal stake in him going to jail, you know, or the possibility of jail at this point.
40:16
SPEAKER_00: But it's still the dumbest shit ever.
40:20
SPEAKER_00: I mean, if you anyone else.
40:22
SPEAKER_01: I don't want to say like as far as the Craig Will situation, I I don't want to say that I agree.
40:33
SPEAKER_01: Because I don't agree.
40:35
SPEAKER_01: In light of all the bullshit in real world, we have learned over and over and over again that even just skipping the accountability of the smaller things leads to convicted felons becoming president.
40:55
SPEAKER_01: I am not okay with the thought the thought, like the kid I get, right?
41:02
SPEAKER_01: The spoiled fucking kid who's used to getting whatever he wants.
41:05
SPEAKER_01: It's kind of like, all right, you just graduated high school, you're young, like and even he felt kind of off about it.
41:11
SPEAKER_00: He was kind of weirded out about it.
41:13
SPEAKER_01: And because even when the father was like, hey, just do this, and even he was like, Wait, that's that's a lot more, you know?
41:19
SPEAKER_01: And it's like, and the father just thinks nothing of it, like, oh well, he he needs the money.
41:25
SPEAKER_01: What kind of future does he have?
41:26
SPEAKER_01: Like, you are the golden child, you must be like, stop.
41:32
SPEAKER_01: I get it.
41:34
SPEAKER_01: I I get why you think that's a good idea, but what are you teaching your kid?
41:42
SPEAKER_01: It maybe your kid thinks it's a bad idea.
41:44
SPEAKER_01: So clearly you taught him something good.
41:46
SPEAKER_01: Like he learned something about responsibility, but he learned that in school.
41:50
SPEAKER_00: He learned that from his father.
41:51
SPEAKER_00: Um education system.
41:57
SPEAKER_01: My God, like can we please, as a society, stop just being like accountability is only for the poor because it just doesn't work.
42:09
SPEAKER_00: It just as a result, because every oh you know, everyone who has money is getting away with it, to make up for all those people getting away with it, the poor get even more sense of accountability.
42:21
SPEAKER_00: They get their sense of accountability on top of the rich people who miss theirs.
42:25
SPEAKER_00: You're like, well, you know, we're gonna make a we're gonna make a why am I brain shutting down?
42:31
SPEAKER_00: We're gonna make an example out of you.
42:33
SPEAKER_00: And you're gonna get three times as much.
42:35
SPEAKER_00: Right.
42:36
SPEAKER_01: Right.
42:36
SPEAKER_01: And so this kid is is told, like, hey, the DA is on board.
42:40
SPEAKER_01: This is a great deal for you.
42:41
SPEAKER_01: You're just gonna get a slap on the wrist, and really you have nothing to lose because being unsaid.
42:47
SPEAKER_01: It's like you're poor, you're ship.
42:49
SPEAKER_01: Don't worry.
42:50
SPEAKER_01: You'll be fine.
42:51
SPEAKER_01: We're actually doing you a favor.
42:53
SPEAKER_01: It's almost like, you know, please can I lick your ass?
42:55
SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
42:56
SPEAKER_00: And then what pisses me off, he actually still goes along with it.
43:00
SPEAKER_00: He does back at the party.
43:03
SPEAKER_00: Now, after like while Sam is yelling at Craig for being an asshole.
43:06
SPEAKER_01: Right, because Sam is right.
43:07
SPEAKER_00: She because he's a complete asshole.
43:09
SPEAKER_01: Like, how could you let your best friend take the rap for you?
43:12
SPEAKER_01: My God, like that's such a shit thing to do.
43:14
SPEAKER_00: In hindsight, this scene was the beginning of her future decision.
43:20
SPEAKER_02: Mm-hmm.
43:22
SPEAKER_00: So, surprise, surprise, as the party's going on, Jenna leaves Craig's party with the teacher.
43:28
SPEAKER_00: Aaron's looking once again like a lost puppy dog, and the world is over for him.
43:34
SPEAKER_00: Next day, it's time for the hearing.
43:37
SPEAKER_00: And the judge is not having any of it.
43:40
SPEAKER_00: She denies the she's rejects the plea deal, sentences will to a year.
43:50
SPEAKER_00: And I was just like, not surprised.
43:53
SPEAKER_00: And then everyone has a shock Pikachu face.
43:56
SPEAKER_01: Um which I'm not that mad about because especially if you believe, which we have no reason not to believe, but we don't we don't know because I'm a skeptic.
44:10
SPEAKER_01: So we don't know if actually the DA was on board.
44:12
SPEAKER_01: Actually, we don't know if that was true.
44:14
SPEAKER_01: I think he was just saying Yeah, I think it was true, but I'm just seeing like the judge is reading it and she's just like, Yeah, no.
44:21
SPEAKER_00: Like I reject it.
44:22
unknown: Yeah.
44:22
SPEAKER_00: Which is the judge's right.
44:23
SPEAKER_00: She has absolutely no, she has no.
44:25
SPEAKER_00: No reason to she doesn't have to take any plea deal.
44:29
SPEAKER_00: And here we go again with Sam talking to Will and his guilt.
44:32
SPEAKER_00: And she's like, You're doing this because you felt guilty.
44:35
SPEAKER_00: And he's like, Girl, no shit.
44:37
SPEAKER_00: Um, pretty much.
44:38
SPEAKER_01: And then she's like, Oh, but you gotta tell the truth.
44:40
SPEAKER_01: But now he's like, Yeah, but what about perjury?
44:42
SPEAKER_01: Like, that might be even worse.
44:43
SPEAKER_01: So now this kid is stuck.
44:46
SPEAKER_01: So now he's like stuck, rock, uh, hard place, you know, him.
44:52
SPEAKER_01: What what is the chandler one, right?
44:53
SPEAKER_01: Like rock, hard place.
44:56
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
44:57
SPEAKER_01: Just just just picture Chandler Bing, okay?
45:00
SPEAKER_01: Because that's what I'm trying to do.
45:01
SPEAKER_01: And everyone is like, ah, I know.
45:03
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
45:04
SPEAKER_01: But yeah, next now this kid eat has less chance because it's like mans vehicular manslaughter or perjury.
45:14
SPEAKER_01: And it's like vehicular manslaughter, let everybody down, you know, spend 12 months in prison, maybe less with good behavior, or admit to perjury, have your friend hate you, have everyone hate you, and still face consequences.
45:31
SPEAKER_00: And then still be in jail.
45:32
SPEAKER_00: Right.
45:33
SPEAKER_00: This is why people think I'm evil, because my first response to anything, someone comes to you, my first response to anything is no.
45:42
SPEAKER_00: No, no, no.
45:43
SPEAKER_00: Lisa can't get a full sentence out.
45:45
SPEAKER_00: I'm okay, I'm down.
45:50
SPEAKER_01: And then you wonder why people are like, fuck the rich people, because his friend is just sitting by letting this happen.
45:57
SPEAKER_01: His friend could now, while I am not taken away from Will because it's like he is stuck.
46:06
SPEAKER_01: He doesn't have a lot of options, but his friend does.
46:10
SPEAKER_01: His friend could walk his ass right into the DA's office, right into the police department, and say, listen, I he he was just trying to protect me.
46:20
SPEAKER_01: And I paid him.
46:22
SPEAKER_01: And yeah, he'll still be in trouble, but he'd be in a lot less trouble if his friend came forward.
46:27
SPEAKER_01: I concur.
46:28
SPEAKER_01: And the friend decided, yeah, he could take the rap.
46:31
SPEAKER_01: Because I got a future to go to.
46:35
SPEAKER_01: That's that's the problem.
46:36
SPEAKER_01: And everything's all hunky dory.
46:37
SPEAKER_01: Not hunky dory, but um well, with rich assholes, not rich people, just assholes who have money.
46:42
SPEAKER_01: Rich assholes.
46:43
SPEAKER_01: Assholes who have money.
46:46
SPEAKER_01: It's that's because that's the thing.
46:49
SPEAKER_01: It's not rich people, because there are lovely, lovely people who are rich.
46:54
SPEAKER_01: It's just the assholes with the assholes with the money.
46:59
SPEAKER_00: And to be fair, I don't like assholes that don't have money either.
47:02
SPEAKER_00: So we're equal opportunity.
47:03
SPEAKER_01: But the assholes with the money are worse than the assholes without the money.
47:06
SPEAKER_00: No, no, no, no, we hate all assholes.
47:08
SPEAKER_00: Well, yeah.
47:09
SPEAKER_00: But the point for today in this episode, we hate assholes with money.
47:12
SPEAKER_00: Next episode might be totally different from us.
47:13
SPEAKER_00: Oh, never know.
47:14
SPEAKER_01: I'm game.
47:15
SPEAKER_00: Um, stay tuned to find out who we hating on the next episode of Sass and Zips.
47:22
SPEAKER_00: Oh, another thing I like about this show, um, they do go back and forth between scenes quite quickly to the point where you don't get bored with a particular storyline before there's the next storyline.
47:34
SPEAKER_00: And it's still all connected.
47:36
SPEAKER_00: And I kind of like that.
47:37
SPEAKER_01: That's not back and forth stuff.
47:39
SPEAKER_01: I know it bothers some people.
47:40
SPEAKER_01: It doesn't, I like that.
47:42
SPEAKER_00: Like that's but not even with the time frame, just about like within the the friends group.
47:46
SPEAKER_00: Like, okay, while Will and Sam is talking here, Carla and so and so is talking there.
47:50
SPEAKER_00: You know, it's still the same time frame, but they do switch off between the friends group, they don't draw out a scene.
47:57
SPEAKER_00: And I like that.
47:58
SPEAKER_01: This is the Yeah, I thought you meant like when it goes, especially that there's some shows that it kind of goes back and forth, and you you never know like when it is.
48:08
SPEAKER_00: This and this is also like they do a good job here too, because well, here it's always the same.
48:13
SPEAKER_01: But also 1986.
48:15
SPEAKER_00: But I was also saying enough time between the scenes.
48:18
SPEAKER_00: Like I have a good chunk of what's the the actual meat of the story.
48:23
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he's a little blurb of present day.
48:27
SPEAKER_00: But you it's it's it's a good balance.
48:29
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, I just mean in general, like not necessarily this show, but in general, I know like Alex gets so frustrated when it's a show that kind of bounces around.
48:37
SPEAKER_01: And me, it's like, ooh, this is like a puzzle.
48:40
SPEAKER_01: I gotta look for the clues to figure out when it is.
48:43
SPEAKER_01: So it's it's almost interactive TV for me.
48:46
SPEAKER_01: It's like you gotta look at the scenery, what's the music, what are they wearing, what kind of cars are driving by, like, you know.
48:54
SPEAKER_01: So for me, I kind of get a kick out of when it goes back and forth, bouncing around, like, where are we?
49:00
SPEAKER_01: When are we?
49:01
SPEAKER_01: Not necessarily like time travel, when are we, but flash lost, because then it's like, oh, what's their hair look like?
49:10
SPEAKER_00: Who are they, you know Lisa is the perpetual red string TV watcher, no matter what she's watching.
49:17
SPEAKER_00: Regardless of what she's watching.
49:18
SPEAKER_01: I love it.
49:19
SPEAKER_00: You need to watch that show I was telling Jamar about because it's it'll it'll the whole back and forth, it's up your alley.
49:25
SPEAKER_00: Remind me?
49:26
SPEAKER_00: Awake.
49:28
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
49:29
SPEAKER_00: You don't know which li which one is his real life.
49:32
SPEAKER_00: The one with his son died or with his wife died.
49:34
SPEAKER_00: You're like, which is real?
49:36
SPEAKER_00: Are they both fake?
49:37
SPEAKER_00: Are they both real?
49:37
SPEAKER_00: Well, Parallel Universe is pretty good.
49:40
SPEAKER_00: Um with Jessica Alba?
49:43
SPEAKER_00: No, that's a movie.
49:44
SPEAKER_00: That's no no, with um no, so the it's a TV show.
49:47
SPEAKER_00: I don't know his name.
49:47
SPEAKER_01: Gina Rodriguez?
49:49
SPEAKER_01: No.
49:49
SPEAKER_00: No.
49:51
SPEAKER_01: Ah 2012.
49:53
SPEAKER_01: Oh, it's uh the guy from Law and Order.
49:56
SPEAKER_01: Uh, what the heck is his name?
49:58
SPEAKER_01: BD Wong.
50:00
SPEAKER_00: Yes, he's in that.
50:01
SPEAKER_00: He's in one of lives.
50:02
SPEAKER_01: Oh, Laura Innis?
50:03
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
50:04
SPEAKER_00: Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah.
50:05
SPEAKER_00: That's it.
50:05
SPEAKER_00: It only lasted one season.
50:08
SPEAKER_00: Next day, Sam is at her appointment.
50:12
SPEAKER_00: And next thing you see her outside taking the little medical bracelet off, and Carl, like, oh my god, I'm so sorry.
50:18
SPEAKER_00: I didn't know I was late.
50:19
SPEAKER_00: She's like, no, I didn't do it.
50:21
SPEAKER_00: Because it was her decision.
50:23
SPEAKER_00: And that's also okay.
50:25
SPEAKER_00: Like I said before, I think that whole will and taking the rap was the beginning of her changing her mind.
50:32
SPEAKER_00: She also decided to get back her scholarship and go to London.
50:35
SPEAKER_00: And that was I made that was so I was so proud of her for that.
50:38
SPEAKER_01: So yeah, because um we didn't talk about their plans, but yes, uh, Craig is going to Brown, and he mentions that Sam gave up a scholarship to London to attend Brown with him.
50:51
SPEAKER_01: Carla is staying home.
50:55
SPEAKER_01: Aaron was going to Boston.
50:58
SPEAKER_01: Boston?
50:59
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he was going to MIT.
51:01
SPEAKER_00: Jenna was going to be to be somewhere else to be a star.
51:05
SPEAKER_00: She just said Hollywood.
51:06
SPEAKER_00: They didn't say anything.
51:07
SPEAKER_01: She just got a lot of people who are not going to be like, I didn't know if it was like New York or Hollywood.
51:10
SPEAKER_01: I I like the same thing.
51:12
SPEAKER_01: One of the two.
51:13
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, one of the two.
51:13
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I didn't remember like which one it was.
51:15
SPEAKER_01: And um Will was just gonna work.
51:19
SPEAKER_00: He wasn't going to college, she was just gonna work, I guess, with his father landscaping.
51:22
SPEAKER_01: Mm-hmm.
51:23
SPEAKER_00: Um, that's why he was that was it, right?
51:25
SPEAKER_00: That was just that was sit Aaron, Cole, Craig, Jenna, Sam, and Carla.
51:30
SPEAKER_00: Yes.
51:30
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, okay.
51:31
SPEAKER_00: Do you remember the names?
51:33
SPEAKER_00: I think so.
51:34
SPEAKER_00: It's funny, I don't know about you, but if I'm starting a show for the recording, like for us to talk about, I feel so much pressure and to remember who everyone is.
51:44
SPEAKER_00: But then by the end of the episode, I'm like, oh, I already know everyone is, and I don't know why I felt that pressure.
51:48
SPEAKER_01: No, I felt the same way.
51:49
SPEAKER_01: And then what I did is after like I watched twice.
51:54
SPEAKER_01: I watched the first time to just kind of watch, and then I watched the second time with a little bit more critical to make sure I didn't miss anything, and I did catch catch stuff that I missed.
52:03
SPEAKER_01: I did catch stuff, catch stuff.
52:05
SPEAKER_01: Uh and then I wanted to go back one more time because I wanted to play a little clue game with you, but then I was like, I don't have time.
52:14
SPEAKER_01: But then I went such a nut.
52:16
SPEAKER_01: I know.
52:16
SPEAKER_01: I went on IMDB and I just looked and I read their names, and then that helped me remember their names.
52:24
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, for some, yeah, reading their names does help.
52:26
SPEAKER_00: But if I realize well, I'll just relax and just watch it.
52:29
SPEAKER_00: If I just to watch it, just watch it like I'm watching TV, the names click.
52:35
SPEAKER_00: Even up, no pressure.
52:37
SPEAKER_01: But like when I see the names uh and also read them, like see them written, it helps me remember who the six were.
52:46
SPEAKER_00: You're a visual learner.
52:48
SPEAKER_01: I'm I'm a hands-on learner.
52:50
SPEAKER_00: I actually, depending on the situation, Medicare questions before your physicals are a little bit more maybe in depth now, and it really doesn't make sense anymore.
52:59
SPEAKER_00: They ask you, are you a visual learner?
53:00
SPEAKER_00: Are you a hands-on learner?
53:02
SPEAKER_00: Are you a do you need to read?
53:03
SPEAKER_00: Like, the kind of learner are you?
53:04
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, all the above.
53:05
SPEAKER_01: Because legit, sometimes, right.
53:07
SPEAKER_01: There's I'm a tactile learner.
53:10
SPEAKER_00: For me, it's l literally all the above, depending on the situation.
53:14
SPEAKER_00: I'm about I think there was like three different versions.
53:17
SPEAKER_00: I'm about 33.3% for all of them.
53:21
SPEAKER_00: It really depends on what the situation is.
53:23
SPEAKER_00: And yeah, I see.
53:26
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm mostly a tactile with visual coming in next.
53:32
SPEAKER_01: I that's legit.
53:35
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
53:36
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
53:37
SPEAKER_01: Thank you, Starbucks, for having sent me to all those classes.
53:40
SPEAKER_01: So I know that information now.
53:43
SPEAKER_00: Um once.
53:45
SPEAKER_00: So Sam has that.
53:47
SPEAKER_00: I'm going to London, I'm gonna have my baby, and Carla's like, I'm gonna tell Aaron how I feel.
53:52
SPEAKER_00: Jenna goes to Aaron's house.
53:54
SPEAKER_00: Next scene.
53:55
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, Carla, Carla goes to Aaron's house, but she she waited too long.
54:00
SPEAKER_00: Just a little bit.
54:01
SPEAKER_00: So Jenna has they have a little heart to heart, and this is where you see that okay, Jenna has issues.
54:08
SPEAKER_00: This is where he's playing the wham video.
54:10
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, she's listening to that wham video.
54:12
SPEAKER_01: Um, well, I keep calling it wham.
54:14
SPEAKER_01: It's not wham, it's oh my god, it's uh-huh.
54:18
SPEAKER_01: Yes, fucking idiot.
54:19
SPEAKER_01: Wham.
54:20
SPEAKER_01: Because he's he was talking about wham.
54:22
SPEAKER_01: That's what I was thinking.
54:23
SPEAKER_01: He's like, wham is gonna be the next Beatles.
54:25
SPEAKER_01: Uh, that's funny.
54:27
SPEAKER_01: You think everybody's gonna be the next Beatles?
54:30
SPEAKER_01: He's like, Wake me up before you go go.
54:33
SPEAKER_01: I mean, come on.
54:34
SPEAKER_01: Now, mind you, he's watching.
54:36
SPEAKER_00: I still seen that song, and I still I love that song.
54:39
SPEAKER_00: Um, I kinda love him too.
54:41
SPEAKER_01: I guess I guess this whole episode was pro-life because remember in the video, it was like choose life.
54:47
SPEAKER_02: Yes.
54:49
SPEAKER_01: And she didn't get an abortion, so I think they're trying to indoctrinate us.
54:52
SPEAKER_01: It is Fox.
54:55
SPEAKER_01: Although, can I just say an aside?
54:58
SPEAKER_01: Considering how absolute bullshit Fox News is, a lot of their shows, but even in 2005, I mean, come on.
55:07
SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, 2000.
55:08
SPEAKER_00: I forget about that.
55:09
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
55:09
SPEAKER_01: But I'm saying, but like, even up to present day, a lot of the shows that are on fire, first of all, the Simpsons don't pull any punches.
55:16
SPEAKER_00: And they're like, Tracy Alman show was a beginning.
55:19
SPEAKER_01: Like, there's a lot of shows.
55:20
SPEAKER_01: Even in the last few years, you're talking about 911.
55:23
SPEAKER_01: You've you've got a transgender fire uh fireman, fireperson, um who's also a person of color.
55:31
SPEAKER_01: You've got a woman with a hijab as a firefighter, like gay people.
55:37
SPEAKER_01: Uh it's pretty damn woke.
55:38
SPEAKER_01: And by the way, why is woke an insult?
55:41
SPEAKER_01: Like, why do you the opposite is asleep?
55:44
SPEAKER_01: So, like, what the fuck?
55:46
SPEAKER_00: Because woke up.
55:47
SPEAKER_00: MAGA don't make any fucking sense.
55:49
SPEAKER_00: They also call people, they call liberals snowflakes, the same people that want to cry about everything everything, and who burn the secrets that they've already paid for.
55:59
SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't I don't think I cares at that point.
56:04
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you should be but anyway, enough said.
56:07
SPEAKER_01: Um okay, sorry.
56:09
SPEAKER_01: And I'm I'm I'm on my no fucks tour given.
56:12
SPEAKER_01: I'm sorry.
56:13
SPEAKER_00: Seriously.
56:15
SPEAKER_00: Um, so as Lisa said, call it like goes, oh she walks through the window, she sees Jenna and um Aaron kissing.
56:24
SPEAKER_00: And they're making out.
56:24
SPEAKER_00: They're making out hot and heavy.
56:26
SPEAKER_01: Aha, not wham.
56:29
SPEAKER_01: Uh uh, okay.
56:31
SPEAKER_00: Um this is when um Carla's father redeems herself.
56:40
SPEAKER_00: And he's honest.
56:41
SPEAKER_01: He's like, I I Yeah, because she goes back to the store and she's there crying, and he finds her crying.
56:47
SPEAKER_00: And he's like, I fucked up.
56:48
SPEAKER_00: I didn't give you good advice before.
56:50
SPEAKER_00: I didn't have the friendship group that you had.
56:53
SPEAKER_00: I have anything.
56:53
SPEAKER_00: And he's like, maybe I didn't have good friends, you know.
56:56
SPEAKER_00: So it was a beautiful moment.
56:58
SPEAKER_00: Because you could I think off-father daughter moments are beautiful, honestly.
57:02
SPEAKER_00: You know, my father passed away when I was young, so I didn't get those moments.
57:05
SPEAKER_01: You can see them like daddy moments with my dad.
57:08
SPEAKER_01: He'll do that for you.
57:09
SPEAKER_01: Your father makes me cry in a good way.
57:12
SPEAKER_00: In a good way, guys.
57:13
SPEAKER_01: Because he's like uh like our dad, you know, like he's always been like that with you guys, you know, like my friends.
57:22
SPEAKER_01: I love this moment.
57:24
SPEAKER_01: And and like not in an inappropriate way, so miss me with that shit.
57:29
SPEAKER_01: I the fact that any woman would take it that way.
57:32
SPEAKER_01: I'm just letting you know.
57:33
SPEAKER_01: Like not you, Agnes.
57:34
SPEAKER_01: Like, I know the listener who took it the wrong way in your head.
57:38
SPEAKER_01: Unfollow us, please.
57:40
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, not my daddy.
57:42
SPEAKER_00: Um because you know, listen, I don't do internet trolls, I don't, it's not worth the time.
57:47
SPEAKER_00: It's just like this, it's they do it just for the attention.
57:49
SPEAKER_00: But I got time for anyone who wants to pop up with the bullshit.
57:52
SPEAKER_00: I will make the time.
57:53
SPEAKER_00: I got all the time in the world.
57:55
SPEAKER_01: We grew up, and and and I'm gonna put it out there, right?
57:58
SPEAKER_01: We grew up and we know that some people had issues.
58:02
SPEAKER_01: Like, we had friends who had some fucked up shit going on with parents.
58:10
SPEAKER_01: Our parents were not, and our immediate friend group, all of the parents looked out for all of the friend group, so multiple parents, yeah.
58:21
SPEAKER_01: Like, I know that if I fucked up your mother, Belle's mother, like Jefferson's mother, whoever, we were all gonna get it.
58:30
SPEAKER_01: So, like, we were in trouble.
58:32
SPEAKER_01: We we yeah, it was just that kind of friend group.
58:35
SPEAKER_01: Like, you couldn't fuck up in front of somebody else's parent because your parent was gonna find out, like, but if you were fucked up and you needed help, the any other parents would be there.
58:45
SPEAKER_01: Absolutely, yeah.
58:46
SPEAKER_01: Like, it doesn't matter what depends it was.
58:48
SPEAKER_00: The funny thing is, yeah, depending what kind of trouble you were in, depended on what parent you called.
58:53
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, oh, absolutely, yep, for sure.
58:59
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, oh maybe which one was gonna get us immediately out of the jam, and there was like consequences later, but who do we call first?
59:07
SPEAKER_01: Who'd get us out?
59:08
SPEAKER_00: So oh man.
59:10
SPEAKER_00: Oh, and it's so funny.
59:12
SPEAKER_00: With some of my friends, I knew my mother was going to probably kick my ass after the fact.
59:16
SPEAKER_00: Oh, but I also know she'll be the most effective at fixing it.
59:19
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, you know what?
59:20
SPEAKER_00: I'll take that.
59:21
SPEAKER_00: Just give me the fuck out of this problem.
59:23
SPEAKER_00: I'll take the ass weeding then.
59:24
SPEAKER_01: 100%.
59:25
SPEAKER_00: She was the most effective.
59:26
SPEAKER_01: Because and I think that that's but but see, going back, I feel like maybe that's why the situation bothered me so much because we had parents, like our own parents, and then the parents of our friends who always looked out for our best interests and never put their kids above the rest of us.
59:48
SPEAKER_00: There was no right.
59:49
SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
59:50
SPEAKER_00: You all like you both fucked up.
59:52
SPEAKER_00: You both fucked up, and we're gonna fix this for both of you as best as we can.
59:56
SPEAKER_01: Right.
59:56
SPEAKER_00: But there will be consequences.
59:58
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
59:59
SPEAKER_00: We're gonna try to minute, we're gonna try to mitigate this shit if I can't get you both out.
1:00:03
SPEAKER_01: Maybe that's why we're not rich, but fucking amazing people.
1:00:07
SPEAKER_00: I think we're amazing.
1:00:08
SPEAKER_01: We are amazing.
1:00:09
SPEAKER_01: We just we just don't have the bank accounts as the other people.
1:00:12
SPEAKER_00: So the funny thing is I'm like, oh, I'm a fucking unicorn.
1:00:15
SPEAKER_00: But apparently that means something different now.
1:00:17
SPEAKER_00: It's a sexual and it means it's a sexual indoenda.
1:00:20
SPEAKER_00: It's like a sexual, it's something different now.
1:00:23
SPEAKER_01: Is it is it a good one?
1:00:25
SPEAKER_01: Or is it something that I don't ever want to say?
1:00:28
SPEAKER_01: Do I want to be a unicorn?
1:00:31
SPEAKER_00: I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing.
1:00:33
SPEAKER_00: It's a life, it's a it's a life choice.
1:00:35
SPEAKER_00: So it's not a bad thing, but it's definitely Is it like being a furry or something?
1:00:42
SPEAKER_00: Okay, hold on.
1:00:43
SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna read it off to you.
1:00:44
SPEAKER_01: What do I know?
1:00:44
SPEAKER_01: I'm an old married lady.
1:00:45
SPEAKER_01: What do I know about sex?
1:00:47
SPEAKER_01: According to Urban, and with Kiss with I'm being I'm joking, but okay.
1:00:51
SPEAKER_00: According to Urban Dictionary, a unicorn is a single woman who is interested in meeting other couples.
1:00:57
SPEAKER_00: The term is referred to for in the swinging community.
1:01:00
SPEAKER_01: Um, like I said, it's not a bad thing.
1:01:03
SPEAKER_01: You could be a unicorn.
1:01:04
SPEAKER_01: I'm not a unicorn.
1:01:05
SPEAKER_00: I'm not, I don't want to be.
1:01:06
SPEAKER_00: I'm maybe territorial.
1:01:07
SPEAKER_00: What's mine is mine, what's yours is yours.
1:01:09
SPEAKER_00: Leave mine alone, or I'm gonna fuck you up.
1:01:11
SPEAKER_01: Um I think though, I think.
1:01:14
SPEAKER_00: So it's not a bad thing, it's just not what the terminology I mean.
1:01:18
SPEAKER_00: I just mean that I'm just magical and I'm rare and I'm just fucking fabulous.
1:01:22
SPEAKER_01: And I sh but I think that maybe you should be a unicorn.
1:01:25
SPEAKER_01: That might be the best of both worlds, right?
1:01:27
SPEAKER_00: No, it's funny you mentioned quit it.
1:01:29
SPEAKER_00: It's funny you mentioned that and the whole like when we talked about how we had like multiple parents because of our friend group.
1:01:36
SPEAKER_00: I get not the misogyny part of it, not the patriarchy part of the patriarchy part, but the multiple, like a thruple or a couple or um sister wives, whatever.
1:01:52
SPEAKER_00: Broad strokes, broad strokes, I can see where it can be a positive thing when you have the like mom, dad, bonus mom, or even you know, or even making like the stepmom, stepfather relationships between all c between all parties a positive way because that gives the kids like we have multiple moms and multiple parents.
1:02:16
SPEAKER_01: Like your parent shouldn't try to kill your stepparent.
1:02:18
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I agree.
1:02:19
SPEAKER_01: That would be nice.
1:02:20
SPEAKER_00: It is fun to watch, but you know, exes like the ex-wife and the ex-husband does not kill, let's not like hate each other.
1:02:30
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
1:02:30
SPEAKER_00: I mean, I'm not I'm not talking about like the abusive situation.
1:02:32
SPEAKER_00: I'm talking about you just didn't work out.
1:02:34
SPEAKER_00: Co-parent, stepparents, if they're great step parents, let them be great stepparents.
1:02:40
SPEAKER_00: It's okay to have a kid to have a mom, a dad, a bonus mom, and a bonus dad.
1:02:46
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but I mean for you to be a unicorn.
1:02:48
SPEAKER_01: I'm not saying to you for you to be in a relationship with a couple.
1:02:51
SPEAKER_01: I'm saying you hit it and then lose their number.
1:02:55
SPEAKER_00: Get your rocks off.
1:02:56
SPEAKER_00: But the way these men are acting in these streets anyway, I can that's gonna be part of the course anyway.
1:03:02
SPEAKER_01: Right.
1:03:03
SPEAKER_01: So then you you go in already knowing, like, I'm gonna get a bonus, and it's gonna leave.
1:03:09
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
1:03:09
SPEAKER_00: Um, no, I want a relationship.
1:03:12
SPEAKER_00: All right, fine.
1:03:12
SPEAKER_00: I know that sucks.
1:03:13
SPEAKER_00: Because the dating pool is the one.
1:03:16
SPEAKER_01: And I have I have a comeback for you.
1:03:18
SPEAKER_01: For what?
1:03:19
SPEAKER_01: Okay, because you know how you always like Meghan Markle's friend, they hooked her up with a prince.
1:03:24
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
1:03:24
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
1:03:24
SPEAKER_01: And she also came with a fucked up family.
1:03:27
SPEAKER_01: So you see, maybe I did you a favor.
1:03:31
SPEAKER_00: But he gave up that crazy shit to be with her.
1:03:35
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
1:03:36
SPEAKER_01: And the fact that he had to, because how much abuse did she have to take before he did that?
1:03:42
SPEAKER_00: I'm pretty sure he was gonna get rid of that family anyway.
1:03:45
SPEAKER_01: But I think can you just let me have this, please?
1:03:48
SPEAKER_01: No, because I'm still a single woman.
1:03:50
SPEAKER_00: But you think I listen.
1:03:53
SPEAKER_00: Everyone in my life is like, you're winning.
1:03:54
SPEAKER_01: I'm like, but I'm lonely.
1:03:55
SPEAKER_00: But you're winning, but I but you're winning.
1:03:58
SPEAKER_01: I didn't hook you up with a prince.
1:03:59
SPEAKER_01: I didn't find one either, but at least my husband came with a fucking amazing family.
1:04:03
SPEAKER_00: He did.
1:04:04
SPEAKER_00: He totally comes with an amazing family.
1:04:05
SPEAKER_01: I've already told him I'm keeping in a divorce, so and they've already co-signed, so I'm good.
1:04:11
SPEAKER_01: She's having co-signed.
1:04:12
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, um, we don't need you, Alex.
1:04:14
SPEAKER_00: It's fine.
1:04:14
SPEAKER_00: We're keeping Lisa.
1:04:15
SPEAKER_01: I told him, I said, it's fine.
1:04:17
SPEAKER_01: I'll I'll let you know what you and your new wife can bring to the family functions, like to Thanksgiving.
1:04:22
SPEAKER_01: It's cool.
1:04:23
SPEAKER_01: He's like, all right, thanks.
1:04:26
SPEAKER_01: It's it's fine.
1:04:28
SPEAKER_00: And I don't know why, but this kind of rubbed me the wrong way.
1:04:30
SPEAKER_00: And they all see him off to jail.
1:04:32
SPEAKER_00: Like they're saying there to say bye to him when he gets driven off to jail.
1:04:34
SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
1:04:35
SPEAKER_00: Like he's going away to college.
1:04:36
SPEAKER_01: Like it oh, yeah, we're we're talking about the show, not the show, people.
1:04:43
SPEAKER_01: Will Will is like getting into his pickup truck.
1:04:45
SPEAKER_01: You never see his dad, right?
1:04:47
SPEAKER_01: Like, or unless I missed it, like you never see the dad.
1:04:50
SPEAKER_01: The dad is just like in the truck waiting, which is like construction kind of vibes, and they're all just in a line.
1:04:59
SPEAKER_01: Where, like, does he not have any siblings or a mother or an uncle?
1:05:03
SPEAKER_01: Like, does he not have any other family?
1:05:05
SPEAKER_01: Because only those six friends will five.
1:05:07
SPEAKER_00: Like, I kind of feel like this is very like peanuts, like peanuts where there's no adults per se.
1:05:12
SPEAKER_00: Wah wan wah wah.
1:05:14
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, apparently, except for like uh uh Craig's dead and well they do see his mom later and Carla's dead, but then I did the teacher, that's the other adult.
1:05:27
SPEAKER_00: They're not important to the show, and the teacher is very important to the show because that was a good idea.
1:05:32
SPEAKER_01: That was a brilliant idea.
1:05:33
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I got it now.
1:05:35
SPEAKER_00: But she didn't sleep with him, so you know she had a girl, like she's like, This isn't right.
1:05:39
SPEAKER_00: You know, she didn't sleep with him.
1:05:41
SPEAKER_00: Are you sure?
1:05:42
SPEAKER_00: She didn't.
1:05:43
SPEAKER_00: They didn't sleep together.
1:05:45
SPEAKER_00: I thought they did.
1:05:46
SPEAKER_00: They didn't.
1:05:48
SPEAKER_00: I thought they did.
1:05:50
SPEAKER_00: We must go back and watch this and get back to you.
1:05:52
SPEAKER_00: I really thought they did.
1:05:53
SPEAKER_00: I thought they didn't.
1:05:54
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
1:05:55
SPEAKER_00: On the next episode, we can tell you what you know, we'll give you write it.
1:05:59
SPEAKER_00: Oh, you can text us and to remind us.
1:06:01
SPEAKER_00: If you remember.
1:06:04
SPEAKER_00: Um and at the end of this episode, um Will goes to jail, Craig goes to Brown, Jenna and Aaron spend the summer together as a summer fleeing couple.
1:06:20
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we go Sammy T.
1:06:22
SPEAKER_00: She goes.
1:06:24
SPEAKER_01: When they're when they're talking about.
1:06:25
SPEAKER_01: That how it ended, whatever.
1:06:30
SPEAKER_01: She goes, Oh, Jenna learned that I love you could also be said after sex or something like that.
1:06:36
SPEAKER_00: Yes.
1:06:37
SPEAKER_01: So that's why I was like, Are you sure she didn't sleep with the teacher?
1:06:40
SPEAKER_00: But she was also promiscuous.
1:06:42
SPEAKER_00: Like she he wasn't the only one he slept with.
1:06:44
SPEAKER_00: Like, no, no, I know, I know.
1:06:46
SPEAKER_01: And then um Will is in jail, but he has his little picture of Sam.
1:06:52
SPEAKER_01: And Carla, we find out Carla, uh, Sam is gonna go to London because her scholarship still is available, and Carla goes with her.
1:07:02
SPEAKER_01: And when she gets in a car.
1:07:05
SPEAKER_01: Sam gets there, she's like, I'm sorry, I'm late.
1:07:07
SPEAKER_01: And Carla's like, it's okay.
1:07:10
SPEAKER_01: London, baby.
1:07:11
SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, you see?
1:07:12
SPEAKER_01: That's Joey right there.
1:07:14
SPEAKER_01: When they went to London on Friends, and everything was like, London, baby.
1:07:19
SPEAKER_01: That was the that was my friend's reference.
1:07:23
SPEAKER_00: London, baby.
1:07:25
SPEAKER_00: So the writers?
1:07:27
SPEAKER_00: Right, when when that when did that London episode air?
1:07:30
SPEAKER_01: That London episode was probably in like 98, 99.
1:07:38
SPEAKER_00: No, later.
1:07:39
SPEAKER_01: Because No, actually, no.
1:07:41
SPEAKER_01: Maybe sooner.
1:07:43
SPEAKER_01: Because because in the in the pilot episode of Friends, Ross is divor is finding out that he's gonna divorce Carol.
1:07:52
SPEAKER_01: Right.
1:07:53
SPEAKER_01: And then not long after that is when Rachel started working at like her first shitty fashion job, sorting handlers.
1:08:03
SPEAKER_01: But then she went to the next one, and that's when the uh um the guy was like, Oh, that's when she met Joshua, because she was like a uh personal shopper or whatever, and then that's when the boss was like, Oh, I want you to take care of my niece, but she didn't want to because she wanted to hang out with Joshua.
1:08:26
SPEAKER_01: So she pawned Emily off on Ross, and he's and then they fell in love, and it was like, Oh, only a couple of weeks before they're getting married, and then they're gonna get married faster because the place was gonna be torn down, and they and so like they rushed right into it.
1:08:40
SPEAKER_01: That's when they all went to London for Ross and Emily's wedding.
1:08:44
SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna find out what seas what year it was.
1:08:46
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
1:08:47
SPEAKER_01: And then that's when Monica and Chandler got together, but they were together for I feel like more than half of the series.
1:08:56
SPEAKER_01: And the series began in 94.
1:08:58
SPEAKER_01: And season four was So the show was on for 10 years.
1:09:03
SPEAKER_01: So it started in 94.
1:09:04
SPEAKER_01: 95.
1:09:06
SPEAKER_01: No, started in 94.
1:09:08
SPEAKER_00: 94 to 04.
1:09:10
SPEAKER_00: You have problems, you know that?
1:09:11
SPEAKER_00: 94.
1:09:12
SPEAKER_00: So 94.
1:09:14
SPEAKER_00: So definitely so late 90s.
1:09:18
SPEAKER_00: It aired in 9.
1:09:20
SPEAKER_00: That's that season finale aired.
1:09:22
SPEAKER_01: The season finale so it would have been 95, so like 99.
1:09:28
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
1:09:29
SPEAKER_00: Okay, so I wasn't that far off.
1:09:31
SPEAKER_00: I said 98.
1:09:32
SPEAKER_00: So then, and this came out in 2005.
1:09:34
SPEAKER_00: So plenty of time for someone to watch it and throw it in there.
1:09:37
SPEAKER_00: I love it.
1:09:38
SPEAKER_00: Yay to the writers.
1:09:39
SPEAKER_01: Because by by 2005, Friends was already off the air.
1:09:43
SPEAKER_00: Was it I feel like I've watched, you know what?
1:09:46
SPEAKER_00: I've watched it from beginning to end so many times.
1:09:49
SPEAKER_00: From the original airing to like the syndicated version.
1:09:53
SPEAKER_00: Like, I just always I feel like it was on the air for 20 years.
1:09:58
SPEAKER_01: Well, it's because it's been on the air for like 40 years, but no, but enough.
1:10:05
SPEAKER_00: Come on, like continuously, it just never stopped because I stopped watching it maybe first in '94.
1:10:13
SPEAKER_00: I probably stopped watching it in 2004.
1:10:16
SPEAKER_00: No, maybe 2014.
1:10:18
SPEAKER_00: I stopped watching it.
1:10:19
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
1:10:20
SPEAKER_00: So it was on for 2014.
1:10:21
SPEAKER_00: You stopped watching it?
1:10:22
SPEAKER_00: I stopped watching it.
1:10:23
SPEAKER_00: The re-runs.
1:10:24
SPEAKER_00: Oh, well, I had well, there's other reruns that I had to watch.
1:10:27
SPEAKER_00: You know, it was another show that it's always going back, and I watched some shows, and like every episode I can relate to Sex in the City.
1:10:40
SPEAKER_01: I've never seen the whole thing like different episodes.
1:10:43
SPEAKER_00: And the good thing about it, you can pop in and watch an episode, and whatever they're going through as you know, women, you're like, yeah, I felt that.
1:10:50
SPEAKER_00: Like I've been there.
1:10:51
SPEAKER_00: Like it's it's relatable as a New York woman at least.
1:10:57
SPEAKER_00: So yeah, that was the end of the pilot episode for a reunion, uh, 1986.
1:11:06
SPEAKER_00: What were you doing in the 1986?
1:11:09
SPEAKER_00: What?
1:11:10
SPEAKER_00: What's wrong?
1:11:11
SPEAKER_00: Your brain's working, and that scares me.
1:11:13
SPEAKER_01: No, I was just trying to see.
1:11:15
SPEAKER_01: Oh, and and we see um Craig drive off to college in his car alone, and then that's when you see his parents like waving.
1:11:24
SPEAKER_01: Right.
1:11:24
SPEAKER_01: It's his parents and Sam.
1:11:26
SPEAKER_01: They they didn't even the friend group didn't even all show up to send Craig off.
1:11:30
SPEAKER_00: Well, the I guess depending on when they were leaving, everyone had to leave when they, you know.
1:11:34
SPEAKER_01: That's a good point.
1:11:37
SPEAKER_01: So what were you what were you gonna say before I say what I was gonna say?
1:11:42
SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
1:11:43
unknown: Okay.
1:11:43
SPEAKER_00: Nothing important.
1:11:44
SPEAKER_01: So here's my game.
1:11:45
SPEAKER_01: Are you ready?
1:11:47
SPEAKER_00: I suppose.
1:11:49
SPEAKER_01: We know, as of this episode, we know that someone was killed out of the six.
1:11:58
SPEAKER_01: Well, we assume it was out of the six, right?
1:12:01
SPEAKER_01: Did they ever explicitly say that it was one of them?
1:12:05
SPEAKER_01: Yes.
1:12:06
SPEAKER_01: Or did they just say you can't talk about one without the other six?
1:12:10
SPEAKER_00: No, you can't talk about them without You can't talk about one without the other like you can't talk about any of them without talking about the six of them.
1:12:18
SPEAKER_01: But how do we know that the six of them?
1:12:22
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
1:12:22
SPEAKER_01: But how do you know that it wasn't like in his head, he's like it could be the fucking teacher in the coffin and he's like Jenna killed him.
1:12:33
SPEAKER_01: But you can't talk about one without the six because I'm just playing devil's advocate here.
1:12:39
SPEAKER_01: Do we know for a fact that one of the six are the dead is the dead one?
1:12:43
SPEAKER_01: That's all.
1:12:44
SPEAKER_00: Yes.
1:12:45
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
1:12:47
SPEAKER_01: Alright, fine.
1:12:48
SPEAKER_01: It's probably most likely, but I feel like it's not a concrete fact.
1:12:54
SPEAKER_01: However, let's just assume that it's one of the six that's dead.
1:13:02
SPEAKER_01: Who is it?
1:13:04
SPEAKER_01: Who killed them and why?
1:13:07
SPEAKER_00: It has to do with that locket, but something to keep in mind.
1:13:10
SPEAKER_01: Uh is it like Carla in the library with the locket?
1:13:14
SPEAKER_00: With the candlestick.
1:13:16
SPEAKER_00: She just took a locket to strangle them.
1:13:18
SPEAKER_01: Um So I have some theories, okay?
1:13:21
SPEAKER_01: So obviously we know that it's we know Carla's alive.
1:13:24
SPEAKER_00: We don't know that she's not dead.
1:13:26
SPEAKER_01: So yeah.
1:13:28
SPEAKER_01: So let's see, who who are the players?
1:13:31
SPEAKER_02: So Jenna.
1:13:33
SPEAKER_01: Let's say it's if it's Craig in the coffin, who killed him and why?
1:13:41
SPEAKER_00: Okay, so because I had it already pulled up, I had to go back and listen to what he said.
1:13:46
SPEAKER_00: Oh he said, Thank you for mourning the loss of our dear friend.
1:13:48
SPEAKER_00: Like, thank you for being here for mourning the loss of our dear friend.
1:13:52
SPEAKER_00: It was six of them, and you can't talk about one without the other.
1:13:56
SPEAKER_00: So it had to be one of them, based on those words alone.
1:14:00
SPEAKER_00: It was bothering me.
1:14:02
SPEAKER_00: That's why.
1:14:02
SPEAKER_00: Words matter.
1:14:04
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
1:14:06
SPEAKER_00: Are you doing trivia?
1:14:08
SPEAKER_01: Oh, I was doing the wordle.
1:14:13
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
1:14:14
SPEAKER_01: Alright, so it's if it's Craig in the coffin, who killed him and why?
1:14:20
SPEAKER_00: It's Craig in the coffin.
1:14:21
SPEAKER_00: Craig in the coffin with the Mrs.
1:14:26
SPEAKER_00: Peacock with the candlestick over.
1:14:29
SPEAKER_01: Ready?
1:14:29
SPEAKER_01: Here's my thing.
1:14:30
SPEAKER_01: If it's Craig in the coffin, Will killed him because uh something really bad happened to him in jail, and it's like payback.
1:14:40
SPEAKER_00: Okay, my thing is if it's between if it's either one of those two, if it I'm thinking it's more likely Will, because now Craig is in a position of power now in his new life, and he's gonna come out with the truth.
1:14:53
SPEAKER_00: Will is gonna be like, oh, that's a good thing.
1:14:57
SPEAKER_01: I thought about that.
1:14:58
SPEAKER_01: Or it's because he found out that little baby was Will's.
1:15:07
unknown: Oh.
1:15:09
SPEAKER_01: Or it's Craig, and when she told him it's Will's baby, he beat the shit out of her, and Will was like, oh no, not my love.
1:15:17
SPEAKER_00: And then he Well, she's already in London.
1:15:19
SPEAKER_00: I think she goes to London, have the baby.
1:15:21
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I know, but Craig and this funeral happened 20 years later.
1:15:25
SPEAKER_00: No, but in my head, so she goes back, she cut that, she has her life in there.
1:15:29
SPEAKER_00: She and then in the interim 20 years, you know.
1:15:32
SPEAKER_00: Oh, she has a kid.
1:15:33
SPEAKER_00: Okay, fine.
1:15:34
SPEAKER_00: She had a life in, you know, they broke up and she had a kid, what have you.
1:15:39
SPEAKER_00: And then you ready for this?
1:15:43
SPEAKER_00: Aaron kills Jenna.
1:15:49
SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
1:15:49
SPEAKER_00: I don't think I don't think Aaron's dead.
1:15:51
SPEAKER_00: I don't think Jenna.
1:15:52
SPEAKER_00: For some reason, I feel like it's Craig, Will, Samantha.
1:15:56
SPEAKER_00: Because this is like the most drama between there, but isn't that kind of obvious?
1:16:00
SPEAKER_00: I feel like because the drama started off with them in the first episode, did like the dead person sh it'd be so it'd be too obvious for one of the dead people to be them because it's just like who else is gonna be?
1:16:12
SPEAKER_00: So maybe.
1:16:15
SPEAKER_01: Okay, so let's go.
1:16:16
SPEAKER_01: If it's if it's Jenna, who killed her and why?
1:16:20
SPEAKER_00: Okay, if it's Jenna.
1:16:23
SPEAKER_01: I mean, and and this is assuming that one of them did it.
1:16:27
SPEAKER_01: We don't even know that.
1:16:28
SPEAKER_00: I think they had to, because that's the whole point.
1:16:30
SPEAKER_01: I mean trope.
1:16:33
SPEAKER_01: Right.
1:16:35
SPEAKER_00: I let's see.
1:16:36
SPEAKER_00: Maybe Jenna's dead because Carla accidentally killed her because they were having a fight about Aaron Because over Aaron, because Aaron found out about the baby, and Carla's trying to protect.
1:16:55
SPEAKER_00: Um, but you know, the secret the Sam's baby and Carla trying to protect Samantha's secret, kills Aaron, the lover of her life.
1:17:07
SPEAKER_00: But later.
1:17:10
SPEAKER_00: Well, who knows?
1:17:11
SPEAKER_00: A lot of things that happen.
1:17:13
SPEAKER_01: I know, but why would you kill somebody 20 years later about that?
1:17:17
SPEAKER_00: Good point.
1:17:19
SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
1:17:20
SPEAKER_01: Like, aside from Will and Craig, who are directly involved.
1:17:24
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, okay, let me see.
1:17:24
SPEAKER_00: I'm just trying to make it most convoluted and stupid as possible because it happens.
1:17:28
SPEAKER_01: Maybe, maybe, if we're on this 20 years later thing, Sam did get the abortion, and then 20 years later, Carla was like, How dare you abort that baby?
1:17:39
SPEAKER_01: Now I kill you an eye for an eye.
1:17:41
SPEAKER_00: But she would have known because she went to London with her.
1:17:43
SPEAKER_01: I know, but then she got mad 20 years later.
1:17:45
SPEAKER_00: Oh, okay, that makes sense.
1:17:47
SPEAKER_01: After she didn't need anybody to go to London with.
1:17:49
SPEAKER_00: Oh, that makes sense.
1:17:50
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
1:17:54
SPEAKER_01: Okay, let me see.
1:17:54
SPEAKER_01: If it was Jenna, who would have killed Jenna?
1:17:57
SPEAKER_00: The English teacher.
1:17:58
SPEAKER_00: No.
1:17:59
SPEAKER_01: Hey, no.
1:18:02
SPEAKER_01: So it'd either be Carla, because maybe afterwards Jenna and Aaron got together at some point, and they looked like they were gonna live happily ever after.
1:18:15
SPEAKER_01: And even though Carla was so in love with Aaron, they were happy, so she was like, okay, fine, they're happy, he's happy, but then Jenna cheated and broke his heart, and she was like, Oh no, not the man I have unrequited love for.
1:18:34
SPEAKER_00: And she was like, Or, or some between the and the some hair and the 20 years, I don't know, between then and now.
1:18:45
SPEAKER_01: Or Jenna had a baby with Will too.
1:18:48
SPEAKER_00: I think Carla and Aaron finally get together, have a beautiful life, and Jenna worms her way in, and then she and then Carla has a killer because she's about to take her mad that she finally got out.
1:19:01
SPEAKER_00: Everything was thing is like, these bitches are crazy.
1:19:03
SPEAKER_01: Oh, I know.
1:19:04
SPEAKER_01: This is this is great that it's like starts in a place of like likely, and then but then but then the MO is like something outrageous.
1:19:10
SPEAKER_01: I I'm having a lot of fun.
1:19:12
SPEAKER_01: No, on that note, it's Aaron because how dare you try to find Hold on.
1:19:22
SPEAKER_01: Wait, I have two, actually.
1:19:24
SPEAKER_01: Oh, oh okay.
1:19:25
SPEAKER_01: Can you bring those two together?
1:19:26
SPEAKER_01: It's okay, no, no, no.
1:19:27
SPEAKER_01: It's still Jenna.
1:19:28
SPEAKER_01: It's still Jenna.
1:19:29
SPEAKER_01: Okay, but it's the same thing like you said, right?
1:19:32
SPEAKER_01: Because Aaron and Carla finally got together, and Aaron needed the insurance money.
1:19:40
SPEAKER_00: Because Jenna is off, isn't rich now.
1:19:42
SPEAKER_01: She was a star, so like he's like, he's like, we need an we need a a nest, a nesting for our future life together.
1:19:49
SPEAKER_01: So like, you know, like we'll just make it look like an overdose.
1:19:52
SPEAKER_01: She's a star, you know.
1:19:53
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
1:19:54
SPEAKER_00: All right.
1:19:54
SPEAKER_01: Wait, and the second one, the second one is that it's Aaron because him and Carla finally got together, and Jenna was like, oh fuck no, I'm killing him.
1:20:06
SPEAKER_00: Okay, back to what I said before, the twist.
1:20:09
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
1:20:10
SPEAKER_01: Will is dead because So Will is in the coffin.
1:20:14
SPEAKER_00: Yes, because Craig is some big powerful guy, and he's gonna tell his secret.
1:20:20
SPEAKER_00: So you think Craig killed it was actually Craig's father.
1:20:24
SPEAKER_01: Oh.
1:20:25
SPEAKER_01: Actually, I feel like that might be like a more likely scenario, like a real scenario for the actual show.
1:20:31
SPEAKER_01: Like you really think you're like, oh my god, it was Craig.
1:20:34
SPEAKER_00: Boom, boom, boom.
1:20:36
SPEAKER_01: Like clickbaiting us.
1:20:38
SPEAKER_00: We watch too much TV.
1:20:47
SPEAKER_01: Valid voice for me.
1:20:48
SPEAKER_00: Or guess, or whoever's dead, I don't know who's dead, but the other five had a part in it, whether doing it or after fact.
1:20:56
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
1:20:56
SPEAKER_01: They're all cleaned up, they they're all involved.
1:21:00
SPEAKER_00: All involved.
1:21:01
SPEAKER_01: I feel like I've seen this episode of Law and Order.
1:21:03
SPEAKER_01: Um I mean, I definitely have seen this episode of Law Order.
1:21:06
SPEAKER_00: Agatha Christie.
1:21:07
SPEAKER_00: And then they were not.
1:21:09
SPEAKER_01: Okay, now what if it's Sam in the coffin?
1:21:13
SPEAKER_01: I know the baby killed her because baby's like, I live this life, a fucking lie my whole life.
1:21:20
SPEAKER_01: Fuck you, mom.
1:21:21
SPEAKER_01: I wish you were dead because it's always she wanted to be like Jenna.
1:21:24
SPEAKER_00: Why does everyone want to go to like why everyone go to therapy for mama issues?
1:21:28
SPEAKER_00: You know why everyone has mother issues?
1:21:30
SPEAKER_00: They go, they they blame their mother for everything?
1:21:32
SPEAKER_00: Because the mother was the only one raising them.
1:21:34
SPEAKER_00: So they're who was still gonna blame?
1:21:36
SPEAKER_00: Okay, never mind.
1:21:37
SPEAKER_01: Alright, so who killed Sam and why?
1:21:39
SPEAKER_00: Who killed Sam and why?
1:21:41
SPEAKER_01: Maybe Craig killed her by accident in a domestic violence situation because he found out who the baby's daddy really was.
1:21:47
SPEAKER_00: Because they got back together after she went to London.
1:21:50
SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh.
1:21:50
SPEAKER_00: Um, I could see that happening.
1:21:54
SPEAKER_00: Okay, what if Carla killed her by accident?
1:21:58
SPEAKER_00: They got into a fight about telling her.
1:22:01
SPEAKER_00: I don't know why I think Samantha's kids a girl, but and for the purpose of this podcast.
1:22:05
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
1:22:06
SPEAKER_00: Like, you have to tell her the truth because she has some rare disease, some rare genetic disease, and she needs to know who her father is.
1:22:13
SPEAKER_00: So you can't tell the truth and they get in an accidental fight and she gets pushed to a coffee table.
1:22:17
SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's very specific.
1:22:21
SPEAKER_01: If she dies that way, because all accidental deaths happen that way.
1:22:25
SPEAKER_01: Time out.
1:22:26
SPEAKER_01: But if she really, if that's who dies and how and why, I'm gonna be like, you're a fucking liar.
1:22:32
SPEAKER_01: You definitely saw this shit before.
1:22:34
SPEAKER_01: I'm not gonna believe that you Oh my god!
1:22:36
SPEAKER_00: This is just me.
1:22:37
SPEAKER_00: I'm a professional TV watcher.
1:22:38
SPEAKER_01: Okay, I mean, I know that that's like trope, but like it's so many tropes.
1:22:43
SPEAKER_01: Two on point.
1:22:45
SPEAKER_00: Okay, first of all, when people die in an accident, okay.
1:22:48
SPEAKER_00: I can't see Carla killing Samantha intentionally.
1:22:50
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
1:22:51
SPEAKER_00: So obviously, accident.
1:22:53
SPEAKER_00: And everyone gets put into a coffee table or the edge of a furniture.
1:22:58
SPEAKER_00: Always.
1:22:59
SPEAKER_01: And I think that because Carla is the first suspect we see, it's it's almost like all the points are gonna lead to her, but it's not gonna be her.
1:23:10
SPEAKER_00: Right, right, right, right, right.
1:23:11
SPEAKER_01: Or just the although sometimes they, yeah.
1:23:13
SPEAKER_00: They're like, right.
1:23:15
SPEAKER_01: It's but I think it'll be more like what you said, where it's all gonna, or it's all gonna lead to one of them or the other one of them, and then we've this whole like intricate thing where it's like, oh, but it could be Carla for this reason.
1:23:28
SPEAKER_01: Oh, but the side character.
1:23:30
SPEAKER_01: Oh, could and it's like oh, you know what?
1:23:33
SPEAKER_01: You don't even know this.
1:23:34
SPEAKER_01: And then it's gonna be somebody's cat.
1:23:35
SPEAKER_00: Okay, you ready?
1:23:36
SPEAKER_00: Here's a his idea because it's side character.
1:23:38
SPEAKER_00: Oh, I just I know we're gonna be.
1:23:39
SPEAKER_00: The A V guy, the guy who's doing the the who started off the scene.
1:23:43
SPEAKER_00: I call him the A B guy because when he flash back.
1:23:46
SPEAKER_01: The eulogy guy.
1:23:47
SPEAKER_00: The eulogy guy.
1:23:47
SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna call him A V because at the end, when they flash back, he was doing the camera.
1:23:51
SPEAKER_01: He was doing the camera.
1:23:52
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I was gonna say, or it could be somebody's cat who walked underneath the feet, because you know, they do that, and then she fell and landed in the coffee table.
1:24:02
SPEAKER_00: Or down the stairs.
1:24:04
SPEAKER_00: Now raise your cat.
1:24:07
SPEAKER_00: Wait, okay, I see your cat and I raised it.
1:24:11
SPEAKER_00: The cat got scared by a spider.
1:24:14
SPEAKER_01: And then they fell down the stairs and landed on a coffee table.
1:24:17
SPEAKER_00: No, over the banister.
1:24:21
SPEAKER_00: They always fall over banisters and like in the hall.
1:24:23
SPEAKER_01: When you trip over a cat, it's hard to I think it's harder to fall over a banister when you trip over a cat.
1:24:28
SPEAKER_01: It's more like that they fell down the stairs and landed on a glass coffee table.
1:24:31
SPEAKER_00: But I feel okay, but you know, in my head, yeah, I can see that.
1:24:34
SPEAKER_00: Like, oh, I tripped down the stairs or over the banister as I'm catching.
1:24:38
SPEAKER_00: I can see you falling, like tripping and falling over the banister as you're trying to get your balance.
1:24:43
SPEAKER_01: Like in Craig's house.
1:24:44
SPEAKER_01: Maybe.
1:24:45
SPEAKER_00: Like in Craig's house, and like we have like a huge, like swine staircase or something, you know.
1:24:49
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
1:24:50
SPEAKER_01: Okay, so if that's the case, probably not Will's house, because no, not in Will's house.
1:24:55
SPEAKER_01: No, it's like Craig's house stairs.
1:24:56
SPEAKER_01: It's definitely stairs.
1:25:03
SPEAKER_01: And if Sam's about to be uh a fucking high school mom, a high school graduate mom, she probably can't afford stairs either.
1:25:09
SPEAKER_00: But she went to London, so she of course she had a scholarship.
1:25:13
SPEAKER_00: But but no, but the education, like she had this huge future, like this bright future ahead of her.
1:25:17
SPEAKER_01: So and and childcare is expensive.
1:25:20
SPEAKER_01: I mean, okay, only scholarship.
1:25:22
SPEAKER_01: Of course, unless you have grandma and grandpa, you know, to get free labor.
1:25:26
SPEAKER_00: They're like, oh, she's going to London.
1:25:27
SPEAKER_00: They don't say, but I'm assuming Oxford.
1:25:29
SPEAKER_00: And no one that's stupid goes to like there's nothing.
1:25:34
SPEAKER_00: I feel like she has a bright future ahead of her.
1:25:37
SPEAKER_01: Here's the problem with that logic.
1:25:40
SPEAKER_01: People could go to the best schools, have the best education, or just be a fucking savant and brilliant.
1:25:49
SPEAKER_01: That doesn't mean that they were talking about real life.
1:25:52
SPEAKER_01: In this in this pipe dream of TV viewing, she had a great future, okay?
1:25:56
SPEAKER_01: Fine.
1:25:57
SPEAKER_01: Fine.
1:25:57
SPEAKER_01: Chow Kay was free.
1:25:59
SPEAKER_01: Oxford was wonderful.
1:26:00
SPEAKER_01: She went on, she lived happily ever after.
1:26:02
SPEAKER_01: And she and she ended up marrying a few.
1:26:04
SPEAKER_01: And was very successful.
1:26:05
SPEAKER_00: She married a prince or a count or somebody or a lord or something.
1:26:08
SPEAKER_00: It's great.
1:26:08
SPEAKER_00: It's travel, it's everything.
1:26:09
SPEAKER_01: And then, right, and then she went on to go to Ladies of London in her future.
1:26:14
SPEAKER_01: Because she was so successful that they were like, hey, we got Caroline Stanberry.
1:26:18
SPEAKER_00: No, I'm stuck.
1:26:21
SPEAKER_01: Well, maybe not Caroline, but yes.
1:26:24
SPEAKER_01: As long as she's not Juliet.
1:26:27
SPEAKER_01: No, she's from New York, so she's not Juliet.
1:26:29
SPEAKER_00: Maybe she's um Chicago, so it could be like, let's switch.
1:26:32
SPEAKER_00: Oh, Marissa.
1:26:33
SPEAKER_01: Marissa.
1:26:34
SPEAKER_01: Marissa.
1:26:34
SPEAKER_01: She's Marissa.
1:26:36
SPEAKER_00: We have no life at all.
1:26:39
SPEAKER_00: I need one of our listeners, send us a text.
1:26:42
SPEAKER_00: Give us your wacky who killed who, who's dead, who killed them, and how they.
1:26:49
SPEAKER_01: If you haven't seen it, though, if you haven't seen it.
1:26:51
SPEAKER_00: Spoilers.
1:26:51
SPEAKER_00: No, but to be fair, the last four episodes never air.
1:26:55
SPEAKER_00: So there's is if you have seen it.
1:26:56
SPEAKER_01: But does it mean that they still haven't seen them?
1:26:59
SPEAKER_00: If we can see them, they they can have seen them.
1:27:02
SPEAKER_00: If you have seen it, I still need to know who do you think the killer is?
1:27:08
SPEAKER_00: Because the person who showed who told me by episode nine, you still don't know who the killer is.
1:27:13
SPEAKER_00: No, but my point is that they have a take that we don't have.
1:27:18
SPEAKER_01: If you have seen it and you know you've gotten to the end of this game of clue and you know that it was, you know, Carla in the library with the locket, then don't text us, please.
1:27:29
SPEAKER_01: Like don't text us, but don't give it away.
1:27:33
SPEAKER_01: I'm just saying if if you don't know, if you're watching along with us and you've never seen and skin Lisa's the host.
1:27:39
SPEAKER_01: Uh no, no, fuck you.
1:27:42
SPEAKER_01: If you just have a guess, we want to hear your guess.
1:27:46
SPEAKER_01: Please don't tell us the right answer.
1:27:49
SPEAKER_01: I don't want the right answer.
1:27:50
SPEAKER_01: I want the wackiest answer impossible.
1:27:52
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
1:27:53
SPEAKER_01: I want the funny answer, the wacky answer, the ridiculously outrageous answer, so that we can sip and laugh.
1:27:59
SPEAKER_00: You know what we have something else?
1:28:01
SPEAKER_00: What you ready?
1:28:02
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
1:28:03
SPEAKER_00: It was the first great teacher.
1:28:07
SPEAKER_00: Remember the first scene who said that he thought Craig was a real she did it.
1:28:16
SPEAKER_00: She did it.
1:28:17
SPEAKER_01: She was like, Oh, he surpassed expectations.
1:28:20
SPEAKER_01: Gotta take him out.
1:28:21
SPEAKER_01: Take him out.
1:28:22
SPEAKER_01: Nope.
1:28:22
SPEAKER_01: Can't remember that.
1:28:23
SPEAKER_00: It was the first great teacher.
1:28:25
SPEAKER_01: Well she was like because she was she was uh she asked about Will and when she was said oh yeah he was doing good and blah blah blah and she's like Craig fucked up his life and Craig fucked up his life so she's like fuck Craig I'm killing him because she fucked up uh and Will was probably the catalyst for like goodwill hunting and then but she did it in cahoots with the English teacher because the English teacher is a is a first grade teacher's son.
1:28:50
SPEAKER_01: Right.
1:28:51
SPEAKER_01: Will is alive because he's now goodwill hunting, he turned into Matt Damon, and he went to go visit his friend Aaron at MIT and ended up in Boston, and that's how he ended up being a janitor at Harvard and a savant because he was obviously very brilliant.
1:29:09
SPEAKER_01: I swear to god, I'm not drunk or high.
1:29:11
SPEAKER_00: Maybe you should be.
1:29:12
SPEAKER_00: I would not lie, I would lie and say that you were.
1:29:15
SPEAKER_00: Um no, no, no.
1:29:16
SPEAKER_00: But I thought he came, I thought he decided to become a police officer in New York.
1:29:21
SPEAKER_01: Well, but then he went to jail.
1:29:23
SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
1:29:24
SPEAKER_00: He loved it.
1:29:25
SPEAKER_01: So in the real world, when you are not rich, you cannot get a job when you're convicted.
1:29:32
SPEAKER_00: But he changed his name and turned to be someone else.
1:29:35
SPEAKER_01: No, he turned into my drink empty and had a hit movie.
1:29:42
SPEAKER_00: I do totally love that version.
1:29:44
SPEAKER_00: I love your version.
1:29:45
SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
1:29:46
SPEAKER_01: Bad virgin, that virgin before you slip off.
1:29:49
SPEAKER_01: So it's not, so he didn't die because he had to go on and star in a movie with Robin Williams.
1:29:54
SPEAKER_00: So Will's alive.
1:29:56
SPEAKER_01: So Will's alive, it's Craig's dead.
1:29:57
SPEAKER_00: So the first grade teacher killed Craig because she because of everything he went through.
1:30:02
SPEAKER_01: Yes.
1:30:03
SPEAKER_00: The English teacher's her son, and he helped her.
1:30:06
SPEAKER_00: Because in my head, the first grade teacher is older.
1:30:09
SPEAKER_00: So yeah, so that's yeah.
1:30:12
SPEAKER_00: Uh-huh.
1:30:14
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
1:30:14
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
1:30:15
SPEAKER_01: All right.
1:30:15
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
1:30:17
SPEAKER_01: Now, on a scale of one to ten, how wacky is that version?
1:30:21
SPEAKER_01: About a 47.
1:30:22
SPEAKER_01: But I love it.
1:30:23
SPEAKER_00: But it'd be funny if it became like a 27 after watching, like, wait, could this actually happen?
1:30:28
SPEAKER_00: Actually, we're gonna um we're gonna actually put these down on paper and after watching it based on like wait, shit.
1:30:34
SPEAKER_01: We did what was it?
1:30:35
SPEAKER_01: Love is Love Is Blind that when I did my ratings for like which couples?
1:30:41
SPEAKER_00: Yes, yeah.
1:30:43
SPEAKER_01: We're gonna have to rate the theories.
1:30:44
SPEAKER_01: Like now it's kind of like just complete BS, like whatever.
1:30:50
SPEAKER_01: But I think as we go, we might I think we should rate the theories.
1:30:53
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
1:30:54
SPEAKER_00: Rate the we'll put the theories on the show notes, and our listeners can rate them with us.
1:31:00
SPEAKER_01: Don't give me more work.
1:31:01
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
1:31:02
SPEAKER_01: They have they have to listen.
1:31:03
SPEAKER_01: I can help.
1:31:05
SPEAKER_01: They can just listen and text us like how crazy our theory is.
1:31:10
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
1:31:10
SPEAKER_01: So this is the theory that we're landing on.
1:31:12
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
1:31:13
SPEAKER_01: This is the official theory of this episode is that Will went on to become good will hunting, and the first grade teacher killed Craig because he almost fucked up Will's future.
1:31:25
SPEAKER_00: And then can we have like a second one that they went like bone on or have like a mine?
1:31:30
SPEAKER_00: Because which one did you like with the head with the head table?
1:31:32
SPEAKER_01: Like the cat tripping, tripping one of them down the stairs.
1:31:40
SPEAKER_01: And so not only did they trip on a cat, fall down a flight of stairs, but then land on a glass coffee table.
1:31:45
SPEAKER_00: Because it was an act, but it's definitely Carla accidentally kills Samantha.
1:31:51
SPEAKER_01: Well, no, in that scenario, it's nobody.
1:31:54
SPEAKER_00: It's nobody.
1:31:55
SPEAKER_00: It's just the cat.
1:31:56
SPEAKER_00: It's just nothing to do with no one.
1:31:58
SPEAKER_00: But who falls over?
1:31:59
SPEAKER_00: Samantha?
1:32:00
SPEAKER_00: Who's a dead one?
1:32:01
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I guess it's Samantha.
1:32:03
SPEAKER_01: Because not Carla.
1:32:04
SPEAKER_00: No, not Carla.
1:32:06
SPEAKER_00: I would okay.
1:32:07
SPEAKER_00: I was joking aside.
1:32:07
SPEAKER_00: How does it go?
1:32:08
SPEAKER_01: Although maybe it's maybe it's Jenna because she liked wearing the high heels.
1:32:12
unknown: Okay.
1:32:12
SPEAKER_01: But I like Jenna's theory.
1:32:14
SPEAKER_01: Like, who else would kill Sam except for like a jealous partner?
1:32:19
SPEAKER_01: Domestic violence and shit.
1:32:21
SPEAKER_01: Poor Sam.
1:32:24
SPEAKER_00: Okay, but I have a feeling though, with the locket.
1:32:26
SPEAKER_01: Craig has so much money that he trained the cat to do that.
1:32:32
SPEAKER_02: Game changer.
1:32:33
SPEAKER_01: Like the episode of monk with a monkey.
1:32:35
SPEAKER_01: They're like, did the monkey shoot the gun?
1:32:39
SPEAKER_01: Sorry.
1:32:40
SPEAKER_02: Sorry.
1:32:41
SPEAKER_02: I know the episode.
1:32:44
SPEAKER_01: In the safe room.
1:32:44
SPEAKER_01: They're like, but it was only the monkey and the guy in the safe room.
1:32:48
SPEAKER_01: It had to be the monkey.
1:32:50
SPEAKER_01: But did it?
1:32:52
SPEAKER_00: Okay, I was joking aside, partially.
1:32:56
SPEAKER_00: The locket.
1:32:57
SPEAKER_00: Now, unless the locket was engraved with something specific, why having a locket on a body, why would that be so questionable?
1:33:06
SPEAKER_00: And that's what my initial thought is a guy.
1:33:10
SPEAKER_00: Because the lock was fine on the body.
1:33:12
SPEAKER_01: But it was Carla's locket.
1:33:14
SPEAKER_01: When he gave it to her, didn't she say like that was hers?
1:33:19
SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's right.
1:33:20
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
1:33:21
SPEAKER_00: Maybe I should have to watch the TV show.
1:33:23
SPEAKER_01: Maybe.
1:33:25
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
1:33:25
SPEAKER_00: And then he's like, so what does that have to do with the locket?
1:33:28
SPEAKER_00: I love the fact that she's going back and explaining 20 years ago.
1:33:30
SPEAKER_00: He's like, he asked a question we all ask, what the fuck does that do with the locket?
1:33:35
SPEAKER_01: Okay, okay.
1:33:36
SPEAKER_01: Let's go.
1:33:36
SPEAKER_01: Let's hold on, let's make this fit.
1:33:38
SPEAKER_01: So if it's Carla.
1:33:40
SPEAKER_00: That's what he said.
1:33:41
SPEAKER_01: If it's let's work a little backwards here.
1:33:47
SPEAKER_01: That's also what he said.
1:33:49
SPEAKER_01: And Carla is the killer.
1:33:51
SPEAKER_02: Okay.
1:33:51
SPEAKER_01: But who did she kill and why?
1:33:55
SPEAKER_01: And what does that have to do with the lockets?
1:33:57
SPEAKER_01: So maybe she ended up with Aaron because she was so in love with him.
1:34:07
SPEAKER_01: And then after Jenna left to become a star, she told him her feelings, and he reciprocated, and they went on to live like a happily life.
1:34:18
SPEAKER_01: And then 20 years later, Jenna comes back into the picture, and Aaron is like, Oh, she wants me.
1:34:29
SPEAKER_01: Bye.
1:34:30
SPEAKER_01: And so then Carla's like, oh fuck no, you ain't taking my man.
1:34:35
SPEAKER_01: So she killed one of them, and the the locket was a gift from Aaron.
1:34:41
SPEAKER_01: So if she killed Jenna, maybe Jenna snatched it and and Carla didn't realize it.
1:34:49
SPEAKER_01: Or she killed Aaron, was like, fuck you, and take your locket back too.
1:34:53
SPEAKER_01: Which is a dumb idea.
1:34:54
SPEAKER_00: But never give it a joke.
1:34:56
SPEAKER_00: Or which is probably the most obvious one.
1:35:00
SPEAKER_01: Or, or she that was her locket, and she gave it to Sam because of their special summer that they spent together, and this and that, and whatever.
1:35:16
SPEAKER_01: And when Sam tripped over the cat and fell down the stairs and she was trying to grab onto something, she she was wearing the necklace.
1:35:25
SPEAKER_00: She yanked off.
1:35:26
SPEAKER_00: Yes, yes.
1:35:27
SPEAKER_00: I was thinking that it was a it was a willing gift from Carl the two, whoever got killed.
1:35:32
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
1:35:33
SPEAKER_00: That's what I was going at.
1:35:34
SPEAKER_01: But she said it was hers, but who would she give her necklace to?
1:35:40
SPEAKER_00: Or who would take it from?
1:35:42
SPEAKER_01: If we assume she wasn't wearing it.
1:35:44
SPEAKER_00: Oh, who would take it from her?
1:35:48
SPEAKER_01: Oh.
1:35:48
SPEAKER_00: Like a stalk, like a secret unrequited love.
1:35:51
SPEAKER_00: Like, this is part of Carla, and I'm gonna keep this.
1:35:55
SPEAKER_00: Um and then they got caught with it.
1:35:59
SPEAKER_00: I mean, they were they were killed, but they didn't know that Carla, whoever the killer didn't know that he that they had Carla's locket on them.
1:36:08
SPEAKER_00: I'm not drunk enough for that.
1:36:09
SPEAKER_01: Or maybe, or maybe somebody or Carla, Carla left it somewhere by accident, and then the person was just gonna go return it, but they had it on them and they dropped it.
1:36:28
SPEAKER_01: Okay, or they stole it so that they could frame her.
1:36:31
SPEAKER_00: Okay, or because it looked like she hadn't seen that in a minute.
1:36:34
SPEAKER_00: And look, she looked at it like with longing and memory, like the memory.
1:36:38
SPEAKER_00: So I think she thought she lost it 20 years ago, and the person that was killed had it as a token of their feelings for her for 20 plus years.
1:36:53
SPEAKER_00: It was Aaron.
1:36:54
SPEAKER_00: Erin is dead.
1:36:54
SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
1:36:55
SPEAKER_00: No, Erin's dead.
1:36:56
SPEAKER_01: Well, who would she have given her locket to?
1:36:59
SPEAKER_01: Either Sam or Aaron or Sam.
1:37:02
SPEAKER_00: Interesting.
1:37:03
SPEAKER_01: I guess it goes back to Sam being dead.
1:37:05
SPEAKER_01: Or her father.
1:37:07
SPEAKER_01: He was mad because she had real friends.
1:37:10
SPEAKER_00: No, but he was understanding though.
1:37:12
SPEAKER_01: He was mad because he had shit friends.
1:37:15
SPEAKER_00: Or he killed the person who broke Carlis, whoever broke, maybe someone hurt her feelings, and he killed them.
1:37:21
SPEAKER_00: Back to a side character who's connected to the six.
1:37:26
SPEAKER_01: And then he snatched the locket because he was like, You don't deserve this shit, but then dropped it.
1:37:31
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
1:37:32
SPEAKER_00: Oh, he didn't.
1:37:33
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
1:37:34
SPEAKER_00: I'm not drunk enough for us right now.
1:37:36
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, me either.
1:37:38
SPEAKER_00: We should have a warning.
1:37:40
SPEAKER_00: You need to be drunk to listen to us.
1:37:42
SPEAKER_00: Uh.
1:37:43
SPEAKER_00: You know how, like, when you're with your like to be the sober one in a group of drunk friends?
1:37:48
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
1:37:49
SPEAKER_00: It's not entertaining at all.
1:37:51
SPEAKER_00: Do you have anything else for this episode?
1:37:54
SPEAKER_00: No.
1:37:55
SPEAKER_00: I think I that are all my insane thoughts on this show.
1:38:01
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think I think I've heard.
1:38:02
SPEAKER_00: How do you feel about this show?
1:38:03
SPEAKER_01: Are you liking it so far?
1:38:05
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm like, yeah.
1:38:06
SPEAKER_01: I love a mystery.
1:38:07
SPEAKER_01: I love the red strings.
1:38:09
SPEAKER_01: So any show that gives me that, I'm in for the most part.
1:38:12
SPEAKER_01: Cool.
1:38:13
SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna critique the the nitty-gritty shot.
1:38:18
SPEAKER_00: Everything.
1:38:19
SPEAKER_00: And this is where I need to start editing Lisa out now.
1:38:24
SPEAKER_01: So all of a sudden, like half a fucking episode is gone.
1:38:29
SPEAKER_00: I'm excited for this season of Assassin's Sips.
1:38:35
SPEAKER_00: Because I want to see, I'm this is a very integral part of our friendship.
1:38:39
SPEAKER_00: Because we need I need to know how in sync we are.
1:38:43
SPEAKER_00: And this is the test.
1:38:44
SPEAKER_00: This is the ultimate test of our friendship.
1:38:47
SPEAKER_00: And if this season fails, this is the end of Assassin's Sips.
1:38:51
SPEAKER_00: I'm being dramatic.
1:38:52
SPEAKER_00: I don't know why.
1:38:53
SPEAKER_00: I'm just being dramatic.
1:38:55
SPEAKER_00: Wait, you I wish you guys could see her face.
1:38:57
SPEAKER_00: Wait, what?
1:38:59
SPEAKER_00: I'm being dramatic.
1:39:00
SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
1:39:00
SPEAKER_00: Have you met me when Libra's Libra?
1:39:05
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm I'm looking forward to this show and this season.
1:39:11
SPEAKER_01: And uh like I said before, you know, just seeing how our takes align.
1:39:19
SPEAKER_01: And hopefully, even though this was uh a show that was canceled, I'm still hoping that at least we get enough of a resolution so that I'm not like clawing at the walls and calling the writers.
1:39:31
SPEAKER_00: That is my biggest fear because we don't know how it like no one knows because You're never gonna be allowed to pick a show again if that happens.
1:39:38
SPEAKER_00: Because the last four I told you the last four episodes were never aired.
1:39:42
SPEAKER_00: I know.
1:39:42
SPEAKER_00: So no one knows.
1:39:43
SPEAKER_01: No, so somebody knows because they're available.
1:39:46
SPEAKER_00: I mean they're available.
1:39:47
SPEAKER_00: Most people, how many people actually went back?
1:39:48
SPEAKER_00: I don't I mean, not that no one knows, but I'm sure most people who watched it then were like, oh fuck.
1:39:54
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but it was, I mean, it was 2000 at that point, it was 2006.
1:39:59
SPEAKER_00: But this the internet existed.
1:40:01
SPEAKER_00: No, but this wasn't available that long ago.
1:40:03
SPEAKER_00: I'm just saying, how many like I don't know, but there were I'm sure people have forgotten.
1:40:08
SPEAKER_00: Like, for example, the person who told me about the show didn't know that this was available on YouTube because they just never went back.
1:40:14
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
1:40:14
SPEAKER_00: So how many people actually watched it in 2005 and decided, like, what's when it I'm gonna find out when this link became available.
1:40:23
SPEAKER_00: Because it's the only link.
1:40:25
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm just saying that I I understand what you're saying, but if there are people who are really into this show, I don't discount the resilience of the international show.
1:40:38
SPEAKER_00: I lied.
1:40:38
SPEAKER_00: I completely lied.
1:40:40
SPEAKER_00: Ignore everything I said, you can edit it out.
1:40:43
SPEAKER_01: Oh, what am I editing?
1:40:46
SPEAKER_00: No, it's been out like they've had this on YouTube for 15 years.
1:40:49
SPEAKER_01: Oh.
1:40:49
SPEAKER_01: I'm just saying, like people people who are into a show, regardless of what the show is, they will look for the answer.
1:41:01
SPEAKER_01: Because think about shows like I don't know if you ever watched Arrest of Development, but it it it's it's a it's a good show, it's a cute show.
1:41:11
SPEAKER_01: Uh but anyway, it was on I believe Fox, and then it got cancelled.
1:41:18
SPEAKER_01: But people were like, wait a minute, like we like this show, and so it ended up on another network.
1:41:25
SPEAKER_01: I don't remember I don't remember I don't remember what network, and then Netflix picked it up, and then Netflix made more episodes.
1:41:34
SPEAKER_01: So I mean, even like I think Family Guy has been like cancelled and then picked back up again because people were and there was another show on Netflix, which obviously is a little later than the time frame of this, not much later, but um, and I I can't remember what the show is called, but it ended on like a cliffhanger, but then it didn't get renewed for another season, and people were like, What the fuck?
1:42:06
SPEAKER_01: Like, we need a resolution.
1:42:09
SPEAKER_01: So what they did is they just kind of came out with a like a movie-ish kind of okay.
1:42:18
SPEAKER_01: That should be more that should be a lot of it.
1:42:21
SPEAKER_01: Like it wasn't another season, but they did they wanted to give the fans some kind of closure because people were like, wait, we want to know what happens, like make another episode at least just to wrap things up.
1:42:33
SPEAKER_01: And they did.
1:42:35
SPEAKER_01: Was it Sensei, I think?
1:42:39
SPEAKER_01: I think it was that show.
1:42:41
SPEAKER_01: Was it the OA?
1:42:44
SPEAKER_01: I don't remember what show it was, but it was it was something on Netflix that I remember like anyway, so yeah, I mean just to say that if if people wanted, they could you know, they were looking.
1:42:59
SPEAKER_01: So they they had to figure out how to get it, but you know, you don't you you may forget for a little while, but you remember.
1:43:10
SPEAKER_00: Eventually you do go back, you are correct.
1:43:13
SPEAKER_01: So I'm always correct, except when I'm not.
1:43:17
SPEAKER_00: And even when you're not, you still are because someone's more wrong than you, so you're fine.
1:43:22
SPEAKER_01: So we want to say thank you to everyone who is listening to this new season, and we're really looking forward to taking this journey together and with you and all of that.
1:43:36
SPEAKER_01: As we said, Texas, your thoughts and and all the crazy theories, but please don't give us any right answers.
1:43:41
SPEAKER_01: Wrong answers only, crazy theories only.
1:43:44
SPEAKER_01: We remind you as always to not drink and drive and to please drink responsible, responsibly.
1:43:50
SPEAKER_01: I do that every fucking time.
1:43:53
SPEAKER_00: You're professional at that.
1:43:56
SPEAKER_01: And uh visit us assassinsips.com.
1:44:01
SPEAKER_01: And what else?
1:44:03
SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
1:44:04
SPEAKER_01: Okay, well, I don't have anything else.
1:44:09
SPEAKER_01: Bye.
1:44:11
SPEAKER_01: No.
1:44:12
SPEAKER_01: Until next time in uh episode two, I'm Lisa.
1:44:16
SPEAKER_01: And I'm Agnes.
1:44:18
SPEAKER_01: And we are out of here.
1:44:19
SPEAKER_01: See you later.
1:44:20
SPEAKER_01: Bye.
1:44:29
SPEAKER_00: I gotta sit on my hands, don't I?
1:44:33
SPEAKER_01: You gotta sit on your lips too.
1:44:35
SPEAKER_01: I know at the same time it clicked.
1:44:38
SPEAKER_01: You'll see, you'll see when you start editing those videos.
1:44:40
SPEAKER_01: They hate myself.
1:44:44
SPEAKER_00: I already hate myself because I can't.
1:44:45
SPEAKER_01: And just wait.
1:44:46
SPEAKER_01: You don't even want to listen to the episodes?
1:44:48
SPEAKER_01: Wait till you have to record to edit the recording, and you're gonna hear over and over and over and over.
1:44:54
SPEAKER_00: I'll just have AI do it.
1:44:56
SPEAKER_01: Okay, okay.
1:44:58
SPEAKER_01: Good luck with that.
1:45:00
SPEAKER_01: Fuck AI.
