- 1:48Speaker 10: It's time for JCS news.
- 1:52Speaker 11: Wow.
- 1:53Speaker 10: This guy kind of put his name on everything. It's
- 1:55Speaker 10: in my contracted here's the news on the Jim Cober
- 1:58Speaker 10: Show and JC.
- 2:00Speaker 12: This news is brought to you by that mortgage guy
- 2:02Speaker 12: Don all Right, the Indiana Hoosiers are heading home to
- 2:05Speaker 12: celebrate last night's college football National championship win over the
- 2:09Speaker 12: University of Miami Hurricanes.
- 2:11Speaker 11: How about that wins r sweeter when you have to
- 2:13Speaker 11: go through some adversity or some struggle, if it was
- 2:16Speaker 11: just handed to you, then there would be no satisfaction
- 2:19Speaker 11: at the end of it.
- 2:19Speaker 12: So Miami native and Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Fernando Mendoza
- 2:24Speaker 12: says he's okay with the bumps and bruises after being
- 2:26Speaker 12: pounded last night by the Caneses.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Yes he's armed arms.
- 2:29Speaker 12: Yeah, then cruise and is happy to bring a basketball
- 2:33Speaker 12: town its very first football national championship. With the game over,
- 2:38Speaker 12: the Miami host committee today officially handed the baton to
- 2:41Speaker 12: Las Vegas, which will host next year's championship game. Imagine
- 2:46Speaker 12: being the Hurricanes, knowing that when this kid who said
- 2:48Speaker 12: his dream was always to be a Hurricane wasn't even
- 2:51Speaker 12: allowed to be a walk on, and now he comes
- 2:54Speaker 12: back as the Heisman Trophy winner and beats your school
- 2:57Speaker 12: to win the national championship.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Such a great story. Wanted Indiana to win.
- 3:01Speaker 7: Yeah, I just realized today I did not watch one
- 3:04Speaker 7: college football game this year.
- 3:06Speaker 9: I did not either. It's so funny you mentioned that.
- 3:08Speaker 9: I said to Brandon today, Brandon Kravitz, who was our
- 3:10Speaker 9: sports guy. So I'm in the hallway we're talking about it,
- 3:12Speaker 9: about what an incredible football year. This has been up
- 3:15Speaker 9: and down the scope for NFL and for college I
- 3:17Speaker 9: said last night, I watched every play. It was the
- 3:19Speaker 9: first football game, college football game I watched all year long,
- 3:22Speaker 9: and I chose a good one.
- 3:23Speaker 1: It was a good game.
- 3:25Speaker 9: This has been an incredible season. It has the story
- 3:28Speaker 9: out of this game. I thought that was one of
- 3:30Speaker 9: the most heartwarming. On top of that kid story was
- 3:32Speaker 9: his parents story immigrants. I guess right, the mom has MS.
- 3:38Speaker 9: So when when the kid did something great, if you'll notice,
- 3:41Speaker 9: the dad doesn't stand up in cheer, He stays seated
- 3:45Speaker 9: because his wife can't stand up in cheer and he
- 3:47Speaker 9: doesn't want her to fill left out of the celebration,
- 3:50Speaker 9: so he sits beside his wife who has MS and
- 3:53Speaker 9: is incapable of doing it, so that she feels that
- 3:56Speaker 9: that camaraderie they do as parents as raising that kid.
- 3:59Speaker 9: I thought that it was like that was damn near
- 4:01Speaker 9: tear inducing.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Dude.
- 4:02Speaker 9: Yeah, it was a great story. What a great gap
- 4:06Speaker 9: to a great season for college football.
- 4:07Speaker 8: Go I mean, and the game was one that I
- 4:10Speaker 8: mean right up until literally.
- 4:11Speaker 1: The last minute, and that last play will go down
- 4:13Speaker 1: in history. Oh, without a doubt, that run will go
- 4:15Speaker 1: down in history.
- 4:16Speaker 8: So I mean it was.
- 4:19Speaker 1: It really was. I mean, you heard this morning that
- 4:21Speaker 1: they won.
- 4:22Speaker 12: It was a really tight game all four quarters. It
- 4:26Speaker 12: wasn't a moment you could take your eyes.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Off YouTube that that last run from that kid. Mendoza
- 4:30Speaker 1: you'll lose your mind.
- 4:31Speaker 8: Yeah, that Superman dive. Yeah, all right.
- 4:34Speaker 12: Speaking of schools, this is sad news but Cape Canaveral's
- 4:37Speaker 12: only elementary.
- 4:38Speaker 8: School could close its doors.
- 4:40Speaker 12: District officials are meeting today to discuss closing Cape View
- 4:43Speaker 12: Elementary due to low enrollment. And if that happens once again,
- 4:47Speaker 12: families are going to be left scrambling to find another
- 4:50Speaker 12: school to take their children to.
- 4:52Speaker 8: And we're halfway through the school year.
- 4:54Speaker 9: This family's been fighting over there for a couple of
- 4:55Speaker 9: weeks about this. You know, we talked about this a
- 4:57Speaker 9: couple of weeks ago, with a voucher program shutting down
- 4:59Speaker 9: these public schools. It's one of those, and it's one
- 5:01Speaker 9: of the only ones in the entire area. The entire
- 5:03Speaker 9: Area's unbelievable.
- 5:04Speaker 12: Speaking of education, Governor Ron DeSantis is announcing new funding
- 5:08Speaker 12: for nursing education in Florida. This is an important story
- 5:11Speaker 12: for you with your son in school. Speaking at a
- 5:13Speaker 12: news conference in Saint Petersburg at Saint Petersburg College, rather
- 5:17Speaker 12: Desanta said Florida has invested nearly five hundred million dollars
- 5:21Speaker 12: in nursing program since twenty twenty two, and we're going
- 5:25Speaker 12: to be awarding twenty million dollars more dam. The goal
- 5:28Speaker 12: is to train more nurses and keep them working in Florida.
- 5:32Speaker 12: As you know, we've talked about this before, the Florida
- 5:34Speaker 12: Hospital Association warning that our state is going to need
- 5:37Speaker 12: thousands of nurses over the next decade, and Desanta says
- 5:41Speaker 12: the effort is already producing more than one thousand additional nurses.
- 5:46Speaker 8: Each and every year. Wow, that is pretty cool.
- 5:49Speaker 12: This next story, man, the crime stories coming out of
- 5:51Speaker 12: central Florida just have not stopped, and we've got a
- 5:54Speaker 12: new one and a parent murder followed by a suicide
- 5:57Speaker 12: involving a mental health counselor and her patient.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Wow.
- 6:01Speaker 12: Orange County Sheriff's deputy say forty four year old Rebecca
- 6:04Speaker 12: White was stabbed at her office Monday evening. Deputy say
- 6:08Speaker 12: the suspect, thirty nine year old Michael Smith, was found
- 6:11Speaker 12: dead this morning. They believe Smith is her former client.
- 6:15Speaker 12: The stabbing happened during a therapy session with another patient,
- 6:18Speaker 12: a man in his thirties, who had tried to intervene
- 6:21Speaker 12: when the guy started attacking. He ended up being injured
- 6:24Speaker 12: and hospitalized. Unfortunately, the counselor was declared dead after she
- 6:28Speaker 12: was taken to the hospital.
- 6:29Speaker 13: Wow.
- 6:30Speaker 12: And again the thirty nine year old suspect apparently committed suicide.
- 6:33Speaker 12: They found his body this morning.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Wow.
- 6:36Speaker 12: He was also stabbed. Like I said, when into surgery.
- 6:38Speaker 12: He's expected to recover. Apparently the former patient just demanded
- 6:43Speaker 12: to see her. She refused to let him in, and
- 6:45Speaker 12: that was when the attack occurred. All right, Floridattorney General
- 6:50Speaker 12: James Uthmeier not one for timing.
- 6:54Speaker 8: We're reading the room. Yeah, yeah.
- 6:56Speaker 12: It says state laws that require affirmative action in hiring
- 7:00Speaker 12: are unconstitutional. In an opinion issued on Martin Luther King
- 7:05Speaker 12: Junior Day, Uthmeyer argues the law violates the Fourteenth Amendment's
- 7:09Speaker 12: Equal Protection cause and Florida's Constitution by mandating race based preferences.
- 7:15Speaker 12: His opinion says his office will not defend or enforce
- 7:19Speaker 12: those provisions, including similar preferences in government contracting. Now, the
- 7:23Speaker 12: opinion not legally binding, but it has drawn criticism from
- 7:26Speaker 12: Democratic leaders and a rival in this year's Attorney general race.
- 7:31Speaker 12: All right, lawmakers are considering a measure that streamlines enforcement
- 7:35Speaker 12: of traffic enforcement cameras. I'd think that would write itself,
- 7:39Speaker 12: but Senator Nick Deciglia proposed Senate Bill six fifty four.
- 7:43Speaker 1: Great job, by the way, thank you.
- 7:44Speaker 8: You got to be real much with that name.
- 7:47Speaker 9: Oh my god, just me saying in my head, I
- 7:49Speaker 9: got any fine, I learnedly just her to say it myself,
- 7:53Speaker 9: and I gotta find you just kind of put my
- 7:54Speaker 9: email just popped in. You owe me a thousand bucks
- 7:56Speaker 9: for even thinking about being able.
- 7:57Speaker 1: To say that.
- 7:59Speaker 11: Well.
- 7:59Speaker 12: I talked about shiny fat earlier, So don't tempt a faith.
- 8:03Speaker 12: Senate Bill six point fifty four, which was passed unanimously
- 8:06Speaker 12: today by the Transportation Committee.
- 8:08Speaker 11: The spear of this bill is to really create and improve,
- 8:11Speaker 11: to your point, the mess that we've seen in the
- 8:14Speaker 11: various camera systems that we have when it comes to
- 8:17Speaker 11: enforcing speed, red lights of school buses, et cetera.
- 8:21Speaker 9: I guess I had the wrong view of these things.
- 8:23Speaker 9: I thought they were pretty damn efficient. Can they not
- 8:26Speaker 9: lean on them or something? Or do they get challenged
- 8:28Speaker 9: and they lose a lot?
- 8:29Speaker 12: I think it's the mish mash of enforcment. This city
- 8:32Speaker 12: has this, this county has.
- 8:33Speaker 1: I see what you're saying. They're not on the.
- 8:34Speaker 8: Same exactly, We're not on the same page.
- 8:37Speaker 7: Yeah, Private companies are in partnership with municipality, you're right, yeah,
- 8:41Speaker 7: And sometimes they challenge them because the sign is like
- 8:46Speaker 7: if the camera is outside of school zone, right, and
- 8:49Speaker 7: they're saying, well, then it can't.
- 8:51Speaker 1: They are challenging that, right right.
- 8:53Speaker 12: Yeah, well Desiglia, Oh there we go again, says The
- 8:56Speaker 12: bill requires the DMV to post program data submitted by
- 9:00Speaker 12: counties and cities on its website, and it also allows
- 9:03Speaker 12: motorists to challenge a violation violation notice via zoom. Much
- 9:08Speaker 12: easier than having to drag your happy ass down to
- 9:10Speaker 12: a DMV or a courthouse. Yeah, to have a citation
- 9:14Speaker 12: with one of these traffic cameras.
- 9:15Speaker 9: Yet a blackoff, you're gonna like block off half a month, Yeah, exactly,
- 9:18Speaker 9: depending on what penalty you're in.
- 9:19Speaker 1: I mean, you go there and sit, you can sit
- 9:21Speaker 1: there for a week, you never know.
- 9:23Speaker 12: Well, not only that, the Senate Transportation Committee also voted
- 9:26Speaker 12: to approve Senate Bill three eighty two, which would require
- 9:29Speaker 12: writers of certain high speed Class three E bikes to
- 9:33Speaker 12: hold either a driver's license or a learner's permit.
- 9:37Speaker 14: Wow.
- 9:37Speaker 12: Think to all the young kids that are on those
- 9:39Speaker 12: things that had it would affect.
- 9:40Speaker 9: They're so dangerous ye are. It's so crazy. People just
- 9:43Speaker 9: do not understand how quick those things are. And it's
- 9:45Speaker 9: not even that they're fast, it's how fast it gets fast.
- 9:48Speaker 9: That's the thing that you do not understand. It will
- 9:50Speaker 9: throw you off.
- 9:52Speaker 7: I thought, don't they have could show you need a
- 9:55Speaker 7: driver's license. There's no like I thought, we used have
- 9:59Speaker 7: like a MOPA license, like at fifteen. You could get
- 10:01Speaker 7: a special I thought as well, based on those two
- 10:04Speaker 7: years at fifteen to be able to ride one of
- 10:06Speaker 7: those Yeah, based on like break horsepower or something.
- 10:08Speaker 8: Right, Yeah, I guess it would. I don't know.
- 10:10Speaker 12: It's just like having a golf cart. Well, now is
- 10:13Speaker 12: your golf cart street legal? Well, you don't have lights,
- 10:16Speaker 12: doesn't have mirrors and.
- 10:16Speaker 9: You but there's the thing you can do because Code
- 10:18Speaker 9: Black made his street legal. You have to have certain
- 10:21Speaker 9: turn signals, you have to break lights, you have to
- 10:23Speaker 9: have running lights, you have to have a tag that
- 10:25Speaker 9: can be seen at night.
- 10:27Speaker 1: You have to have head lights. There's a couple other things.
- 10:30Speaker 9: But it cost him a pretty good number to get
- 10:32Speaker 9: his golf cart registered to have, you know, for road ready.
- 10:35Speaker 1: But he does. Well, it's a pain in the ass.
- 10:37Speaker 12: It is all right, A Melbourne man could get a
- 10:41Speaker 12: huge payout from the state after he was wrongly convicted
- 10:45Speaker 12: of murder. Jeffrey Abramowski has spent the last two and
- 10:50Speaker 12: a half decades in prison.
- 10:52Speaker 8: And a half years no, twenty three years.
- 10:56Speaker 12: He was convicted of murdering an elderly man in two
- 10:58Speaker 12: thousand and two, but new in a evidence cleared him
- 11:02Speaker 12: of the crime. So a judge has recommended that Florida
- 11:05Speaker 12: pay Abramowski one point one million dollars for his time
- 11:09Speaker 12: spent behind bars.
- 11:11Speaker 1: For twenty five years. Yeah, yeah, that is that's dirt gene,
- 11:14Speaker 1: all right.
- 11:16Speaker 8: And if they even pay that amount, let's less.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Than fifty k year.
- 11:19Speaker 9: Right, We're going to take a third of your life, yeah,
- 11:22Speaker 9: or something you didn't do.
- 11:23Speaker 1: And that's less than fifty thousand dollars a year.
- 11:25Speaker 8: And that's if they even agree to pay that amount.
- 11:27Speaker 12: I wouldn't be surprised if the state said, hey, our
- 11:29Speaker 12: hands are tied.
- 11:30Speaker 8: We can only give you.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Yeah, how would you like free tolls? I mean property tax?
- 11:36Speaker 1: Let's let's make a deal.
- 11:39Speaker 12: Russell Brand has been granted bail after appearing in a
- 11:42Speaker 12: UK court via video chat. This comes after the actor
- 11:45Speaker 12: and comedian was charged with two additional counts of rape
- 11:49Speaker 12: and sexual assault in December five. Initial allegations were made
- 11:53Speaker 12: against him in the twenty twenty three documentary Dispatches. Brand
- 11:57Speaker 12: appeared in court from a video link from his Florida
- 12:00Speaker 12: home this morning. His plea hearing is set for February seventeen.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Have you seen that guy lately? No? Oh man, oh man.
- 12:08Speaker 9: If you are doing like a word association and they
- 12:11Speaker 9: flashed up Russell Brand's photograph, you just like the guy
- 12:13Speaker 9: who mumbles on corner.
- 12:16Speaker 1: He himself go.
- 12:17Speaker 9: He just well, he just he doesn't shave anymore, and
- 12:21Speaker 9: and it's changing. But it's his eyes, like dude doesn't
- 12:24Speaker 9: blink a lot. And guys with those big white ass
- 12:26Speaker 9: eyes like they're always surprised if something just a weird cat.
- 12:30Speaker 9: That guy, Yeah, that guy derailed. Something happened with him.
- 12:34Speaker 12: He's off the he's off the trails or rails right now, crowds.
- 12:39Speaker 8: I know, seriously, I need to stop while I'm still head.
- 12:43Speaker 12: Supposed to be a much warmer and beautiful weekend this
- 12:46Speaker 12: weekend in Central Florida, like commerce, go absolutely, and you
- 12:49Speaker 12: may be tempted to maybe take some personal watercraft out
- 12:53Speaker 12: on the area lake. But there is one lake you're
- 12:54Speaker 12: gonna want to avoid.
- 12:55Speaker 8: Oh boy, Yeah.
- 12:56Speaker 12: The Florida Department of Health is warning folks about blue
- 12:59Speaker 12: green algae in Lake Gatland.
- 13:01Speaker 1: Lake Gatland, Yeah, gatl I know.
- 13:04Speaker 12: The DOH is currently testing the water for toxins. Blue
- 13:07Speaker 12: green algae can be harmful to both humans and animals.
- 13:10Speaker 12: May not want to take your dog and throw the
- 13:11Speaker 12: stick in the water there. Residents and visitors should avoid swimming, waiting,
- 13:16Speaker 12: and again using their personal watercrafts in the lake until
- 13:19Speaker 12: further notice.
- 13:20Speaker 15: Wow.
- 13:21Speaker 12: Speaking of transportation, a futuristic travel option come into Orlando.
- 13:25Speaker 12: Oh yeah, way Mo plans to launch driverless taxis in
- 13:29Speaker 12: the City Beautiful as early as March. The company is
- 13:32Speaker 12: testing the service, so you may see driverless cars on
- 13:35Speaker 12: city streets already, and city Commissioner Shan Rose says, don't
- 13:38Speaker 12: be alarmed, don't call nine one one. She understands some
- 13:42Speaker 12: may be worried, freaking out, but she tells New six
- 13:46Speaker 12: it's just simply a sign of the time.
- 13:48Speaker 9: All those grannies and be like ghosts. I saw my
- 13:52Speaker 9: first scout today. Did you really driving through alta mind?
- 13:56Speaker 1: You know?
- 13:56Speaker 9: The thing they don't mention about that that I think
- 13:58Speaker 9: is very interesting, is I believe all the scouts are electric.
- 14:02Speaker 7: I don't know if it's all of them. I know
- 14:04Speaker 7: i've seen the electric VW bus.
- 14:06Speaker 1: Yeah, that's exactly.
- 14:07Speaker 9: That's the one I saw today, the ID or whatever
- 14:09Speaker 9: it is. Yeah, yeah, that's so smart.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Yes.
- 14:12Speaker 9: I mean when you talk about like, you know, running
- 14:13Speaker 9: out an initiative that saves the county money as opposed
- 14:16Speaker 9: to having you know, fuel burning cars, you know, putting
- 14:19Speaker 9: all those miles, people don't realize, like I've told you before,
- 14:21Speaker 9: you know, three hundred and fifty miles is nothing for
- 14:23Speaker 9: a range for those things, And if you're driving them
- 14:25Speaker 9: in the city, it even gets more because it's not
- 14:27Speaker 9: pushing all that weight against the wind at higher speeds.
- 14:30Speaker 9: I know that because my wife's car, hers would go
- 14:33Speaker 9: like from the battery would go twice as fast when
- 14:36Speaker 9: you're going like eighty miles an hours. Just it just
- 14:38Speaker 9: takes a lot to move a vehicle that heavy that long.
- 14:40Speaker 9: But what a great idea saving all that money, recharge
- 14:44Speaker 9: them overnight.
- 14:44Speaker 8: And being environmentally sent.
- 14:46Speaker 1: The smart stuff. Man, Someondle County's got it going.
- 14:48Speaker 8: Yeah, they do, all right.
- 14:49Speaker 12: Another transportation news, I think this is a pretty cool
- 14:52Speaker 12: story because there's a new way to travel in Miami
- 14:54Speaker 12: Dade County. The City of Miami Beach is launching a
- 14:58Speaker 12: free water taxi sir today across Biscayne Bay to downtown Miami.
- 15:03Speaker 1: That's cool, isn't it.
- 15:05Speaker 12: The city says it's a scenic, sustainable, and convenient alternative
- 15:08Speaker 12: to driving. And as anyone knows, if you've driven in
- 15:11Speaker 12: South Florida, you want to just drive into.
- 15:12Speaker 9: The water, you do, You want to stay in the
- 15:14Speaker 9: car and stay in the car into the gurgle bottom.
- 15:18Speaker 1: That sucks. That place sucks.
- 15:19Speaker 12: Oh, driving there is insanity, the worst. I mean, you
- 15:22Speaker 12: understand why grand theft autos is going to be said
- 15:25Speaker 12: in South Florida. Each vessel can carry up to fifty
- 15:29Speaker 12: five passengers and you can see the schedule and get
- 15:31Speaker 12: more information at Miami Beach fl dot gov.
- 15:35Speaker 7: Speaking of carrying passengers, back to the Scout topic, the
- 15:38Speaker 7: primary Scout fleet is electric thirty five eco friendly fully
- 15:42Speaker 7: electric Volkswagen ID Buzz vehicles. However, they have some for
- 15:46Speaker 7: accessibility needs. Scout also operates Toyota see in a hybrid

- 16:01Speaker 9: whole thing. It's pretty darn cool. It's the freebie app Yeah, yeah.
- 16:04Speaker 1: Right on.
- 16:05Speaker 12: Well still in South Florida, History Miami Museum is one
- 16:09Speaker 12: of eight cities that will host an exhibit of eighteenth
- 16:12Speaker 12: century documents marking the nation's two hundred and fiftieth anniversary.
- 16:17Speaker 12: Nice yeah, Jim Byron with the National Archives on the
- 16:21Speaker 12: Freedom Plane National Tour documents that forged the nation.
- 16:26Speaker 16: Purpose of this tour is to allow those Americans who
- 16:29Speaker 16: may not be planning to visit our nation's capital to see, experience,
- 16:32Speaker 16: and learn from American history. And American history is the
- 16:35Speaker 16: story of all of us.
- 16:36Speaker 1: He says.
- 16:37Speaker 12: Each city, including Miami, Los Angeles, Houston, Atlanta, and Denver,
- 16:41Speaker 12: among others, will keep the documents, including the original engraving
- 16:45Speaker 12: of the Declaration of Independence, safe with climate controls and
- 16:49Speaker 12: security protocols.
- 16:51Speaker 1: Hopefully not the same ones they had at the Louver. Yeah.
- 16:54Speaker 12: History Miami Museum's exhibition runs June twentieth to July fifth.
- 17:00Speaker 7: It's like I remember when they had the Traveling Vietnam
- 17:04Speaker 7: Wall it's a neat way to kind of you know, hey,
- 17:07Speaker 7: not everyone can go to Washington exactly.
- 17:09Speaker 9: And they did the Berlin Wall as well. They toured
- 17:11Speaker 9: with a piece of the remember that.
- 17:13Speaker 8: Yeah, also to the Liberty Bell at one point, I.
- 17:17Speaker 7: Just they did I know, they did a part of
- 17:20Speaker 7: the Twin Towers after nine.
- 17:22Speaker 8: Yeah that I remember that too.
- 17:25Speaker 12: And then finally, Progresso, you know, the soup company has
- 17:30Speaker 12: revived its viral soup candy soup candy.
- 17:34Speaker 8: After they sold out in minutes last year.
- 17:37Speaker 7: Soup candy like candy, Yes, you put it in your soup.
- 17:41Speaker 1: The no, the brands they drop its sandy that tastes
- 17:45Speaker 1: like soup.
- 17:45Speaker 12: The brand's soup drops, hard candy inspired by classic Progresso soups,
- 17:51Speaker 12: are returning for a second year with the debut of
- 17:54Speaker 12: the Progresso Soup Drops variety can Yeah that sounds dis
- 18:00Speaker 12: Austin general, Mills want to try.
- 18:01Speaker 1: It, says.
- 18:02Speaker 12: The new variety pack features three of Progresso's most well
- 18:06Speaker 12: known flavors. Timed for a national Soup month. The lineup
- 18:10Speaker 12: includes the chicken Noodle soup drop, the absolute legend Tomato
- 18:14Speaker 12: basil soup drop.
- 18:15Speaker 1: That actually doesn't sound terrible.
- 18:17Speaker 8: And beef pot roast.
- 18:18Speaker 1: That soup drop not good. How do you get pot
- 18:21Speaker 1: roasted a candy?
- 18:22Speaker 8: I don't know, and I don't think I want to
- 18:24Speaker 8: know now the limited.
- 18:26Speaker 9: Immediately Jack chimes in and says, I try it. I
- 18:29Speaker 9: bring really good Indian food.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Jacks like carry.
- 18:35Speaker 9: Tomato soup candy. But I won't even attempt a shot
- 18:39Speaker 9: at your.
- 18:40Speaker 1: Indian for me.
- 18:41Speaker 7: I will try it if someone heats it and brains
- 18:44Speaker 7: really anything else.
- 18:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm a very messy you night night shirt baby.
- 18:53Speaker 12: The limited The limited edition variety cans went on sale Thursday,
- 18:59Speaker 12: January fifth teenth, sold out once again within minutes. But yeah, yeah,
- 19:03Speaker 12: have no fear because additional drops are planned every Thursday
- 19:07Speaker 12: through the end of the month of January.
- 19:09Speaker 8: While supplies last. You can still get your soup job.
- 19:13Speaker 1: So when does your soup drop?
- 19:15Speaker 9: I have a theory though about these things, is we
- 19:16Speaker 9: saw this with that whole Polynesian sauce and stuff like that.
- 19:19Speaker 9: I think a lot of these sales are people just
- 19:22Speaker 9: buying this stuff thinking that the secondary market is going
- 19:25Speaker 9: to explode. That's what I think happens a lot.
- 19:28Speaker 1: You mean, like you as your BBA, Yeah.
- 19:30Speaker 9: Exactly, But but with this, if you if it's a
- 19:32Speaker 9: limited edition and they know they're not gonna make them anymore,
- 19:36Speaker 9: people will go out there and to just buy them
- 19:37Speaker 9: and sit on them for a couple weeks and then
- 19:38Speaker 9: put them right back up on eBay or whatever and
- 19:40Speaker 9: sell the hell out of them.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Sit on the soup drops. Yeah you want hot soup exactly.
- 19:44Speaker 8: It smells like chicken noodle down.
- 19:47Speaker 12: Yeah, either way, That concludes your JCS news.

- 20:00Speaker 9: follow up. Somebody in the audience it's gonna win a
- 20:02Speaker 9: twenty five dollars gift card to a Froggers billing bar.
- 20:05Speaker 1: We'll do that next. The Bruggers football follow up is next.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Call now for your chance to win.
- 20:10Speaker 10: Four oh seven nine one one four. It's time for
- 20:22Speaker 10: the Froggers football follow up on the Jim Colbert Show.
- 20:26Speaker 9: You are correct, Dan Stone, It is time for the
- 20:28Speaker 9: Froggers football follow up, brought to you by our good
- 20:30Speaker 9: friends over at Froggers Gillin Bar. Four my friends, counting one,
- 20:34Speaker 9: two three, four of these great locations all throughout Central Florida,
- 20:37Speaker 9: and the end is near.
- 20:39Speaker 15: Uh.
- 20:39Speaker 9: The Championship Games is coming up this weekend. Of course
- 20:42Speaker 9: the super Bowl in a couple of weeks. What better
- 20:44Speaker 9: place in the Olympics. By the way, we're gonna get
- 20:46Speaker 9: a Jack's Olympic update coming up with a Winter Olympics,
- 20:49Speaker 9: so anything you want to watch.
- 20:50Speaker 1: Man.
- 20:51Speaker 9: Not only do they have all the great big screens,
- 20:53Speaker 9: wonderful food, great people. The girls that work at Froggers

- 21:02Speaker 9: Froggers goin bar or four locations to serve you wherever
- 21:05Speaker 9: you are in Central Florida.
- 21:07Speaker 7: Jackson, that's right, Just go to Frogers dot com, find
- 21:10Speaker 7: the one near you and get on all right, So
- 21:13Speaker 7: you guys know the deal.
- 21:14Speaker 1: We have five people on the line.
- 21:15Speaker 9: The whole idea of this game, and it has been
- 21:17Speaker 9: the entire season, is to choose the member of the
- 21:20Speaker 9: show that you think did the best in this past
- 21:23Speaker 9: weekend's NFL Action.
- 21:25Speaker 7: That's right, you have four choices, Jim, Debra, myself, and
- 21:29Speaker 7: Ross who made his picks. Deb wasn't here when we
- 21:33Speaker 7: talked about it on last Thursday, However, she did submit picks,
- 21:37Speaker 7: and she is a viable candidate for one of the
- 21:40Speaker 7: four of us.
- 21:41Speaker 1: Just remember, if you've been.
- 21:42Speaker 7: Following all season long, you know that Jim has always
- 21:45Speaker 7: been in last place for most of the season.
- 21:47Speaker 1: Why get why?
- 21:49Speaker 7: He had a few bright spots. Ross did really well.
- 21:52Speaker 7: Deb had a fantastic run for a while. I had
- 21:56Speaker 7: last week's winter. But I just want to impart this
- 21:59Speaker 7: one piece of advice. Past results is not indicative of
- 22:04Speaker 7: future performance. So it's a new week and a new
- 22:08Speaker 7: chance for you to determine which one of us it's
- 22:11Speaker 7: best in the football Pass clear something real before we
- 22:14Speaker 7: go any farther. The guy that just wanted me to
- 22:16Speaker 7: make his plate and bring it to him just ragged
- 22:18Speaker 7: on me about how well I picked football games of
- 22:20Speaker 7: the season.
- 22:21Speaker 9: I just want to make sure that's clear, right. The
- 22:22Speaker 9: guy asking me for something taking chance at me.
- 22:24Speaker 7: Maybe because you finished in last place, you should be
- 22:27Speaker 7: forced to service.
- 22:28Speaker 12: Look at this guy, Wow, that next thing, you know,
- 22:32Speaker 12: he's going to give you the gag ball and tell
- 22:33Speaker 12: you to be a good boy.
- 22:34Speaker 1: I got you.
- 22:35Speaker 9: Wait right there, I don't know if I want to
- 22:39Speaker 9: eat it now you wait right there. I don't know,
- 22:42Speaker 9: I'll find all kinds of stuff to drag through it. Yeah,
- 22:47Speaker 9: that looks like something I've got my fans hold on.
- 22:51Speaker 17: All right.
- 22:51Speaker 7: So there were only four matchups, but we made our picks.
- 22:54Speaker 7: We did the total points for the Rams Bears game
- 22:57Speaker 7: as a tie breaker in case it was the you
- 23:00Speaker 7: got it.
- 23:00Speaker 1: So that is where we are.
- 23:02Speaker 16: Now.
- 23:02Speaker 7: We just need to call Leard to pick one of
- 23:04Speaker 7: the four of us they think did the best this week.
- 23:06Speaker 1: Neber one, two, three, four, five, let's go two? Two?
- 23:09Speaker 1: Is Josh? Josh? How you doing good? How you doing good? Buddy?
- 23:13Speaker 1: All right, man, it's easy. You get the first pig.
- 23:15Speaker 1: Who do you think me? Deb? Jack or Ross? Who
- 23:18Speaker 1: had the best weekend this past week?
- 23:19Speaker 9: In the NFL picks, Gotta go with the Girl, deb
- 23:23Speaker 9: Ah Deb Deb was not here, so we didn't know
- 23:26Speaker 9: who she picked, but we reached out.
- 23:27Speaker 1: She texted us her picks.
- 23:29Speaker 7: We went through the results and we marked him and
- 23:32Speaker 7: Deb actually got three damn out of four correct and
- 23:37Speaker 7: tied for first place. WHOA, So we go to a tiebreaker,
- 23:42Speaker 7: which is the total points.
- 23:44Speaker 1: Okay.
- 23:45Speaker 7: In the final game of the week, which was the
- 23:47Speaker 7: Rams Bear Okay, okay, there were thirty seven total points
- 23:52Speaker 7: scored in that game. Yeah, now, Debbator picks, Yes, she did,
- 23:56Speaker 7: but never submitted the amount of points, so she has
- 24:00Speaker 7: a zero and zero. She is thirty seven points away
- 24:04Speaker 7: from the right answer. She finished in second place, and
- 24:13Speaker 7: I had proof.
- 24:13Speaker 1: I asked you, yeah, but then you didn't pass it on. No,
- 24:17Speaker 1: I got your picks on.
- 24:18Speaker 7: Yeah, the picks are good, but the points we didn't
- 24:21Speaker 7: have anything.
- 24:22Speaker 1: What would you have picked thirty eight?
- 24:23Speaker 8: Honestly?
- 24:25Speaker 7: If guess what? If she picked fifteen, she would have won.
- 24:28Speaker 7: Oh my god, she would have been closer than the
- 24:30Speaker 7: eventual one, three, four or five?
- 24:33Speaker 1: Too? Sad? You pick five? Rick? How you doing? Rick?
- 24:42Speaker 18: Yeah?
- 24:42Speaker 1: Yourself doing good? Buddy? Deb is off the table. Who
- 24:44Speaker 1: do you think? Did it me? Jack or Ross?
- 24:49Speaker 19: I'll go for Jack.
- 24:51Speaker 15: Rick.
- 24:51Speaker 7: Oh, I am so glad you picked me because I
- 24:53Speaker 7: have been on fire lately. I won last week and
- 24:57Speaker 7: I got one right this week. Unfortunately that's three wrong
- 25:03Speaker 7: too many?
- 25:03Speaker 1: Right?
- 25:04Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 25:04Speaker 1: Yeah? All right? Deb one O those bills one, three
- 25:08Speaker 1: or four? One?
- 25:09Speaker 8: Those bills broke my heart to one?
- 25:11Speaker 1: All right one? Sean? How you doing doing great? All right? Buddy?
- 25:15Speaker 9: You got a fifty to fifty shot here, it's either
- 25:18Speaker 9: Jack now or it's you or raw for me.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Yeah, yeh, it's either Ross or myself. Who do you
- 25:23Speaker 1: think did it? We're gonna go with.
- 25:26Speaker 7: Ross, you know what, solid pick because I think he's
- 25:31Speaker 7: had the most wins throughout the entire season, start to finish,
- 25:34Speaker 7: and he did get too right with only two wrong,
- 25:37Speaker 7: but not enough.
- 25:38Speaker 1: He finishes in third place.
- 25:39Speaker 9: Oh man, oh man, oh man, oh man. You just
- 25:45Speaker 9: realize I have no idea. I literally had no idea,
- 25:49Speaker 9: and it's up to you. And I will tell you
- 25:51Speaker 9: there's a special indication with this choice you're about to make.
- 25:55Speaker 9: Deb I'm gonna ask you.
- 25:57Speaker 1: Line three or line four three.
- 26:03Speaker 9: Mike Larson year RIBBT.
- 26:11Speaker 1: I lost by the last I lost last week, but
- 26:14Speaker 1: I'm in here strong this week. It's gotta be Jim.
- 26:18Speaker 9: Yeah, Mike, want you on hold.
- 26:21Speaker 1: You're a winner, buddy. Thanks for calling. Always good hearing
- 26:23Speaker 1: from you.
- 26:24Speaker 12: There.
- 26:24Speaker 1: He is the legend, Mike the buzzer Lars.
- 26:26Speaker 7: Though he was seventeen points off on the tiebreaker with
- 26:30Speaker 7: just one wrong, Jim had the Texans.
- 26:32Speaker 1: Over the Patriots.
- 26:33Speaker 7: Bim correctly picked the Broncos, Seattle and the Rams and
- 26:37Speaker 7: so Ti Debrah, but on points Jim is the winner
- 26:40Speaker 7: this week, and so is Mike Buzzer Larsen.
- 26:42Speaker 1: Yeah, not bad.
- 26:44Speaker 12: I gotta end up strong for that chicken Tika Missel.
- 26:47Speaker 12: I'll forget my tie breaker next time.
- 26:50Speaker 1: I put.
- 26:51Speaker 9: I picked a bunch at night, I put like fifty
- 26:53Speaker 9: eight or something or whatever it was.
- 26:54Speaker 1: No, you had fifty fifty four? Is that what it was?
- 26:57Speaker 1: All right? Very good? All right?
- 26:58Speaker 9: Mark good or Mike good job. You're winner and thanks
- 27:01Speaker 9: to Froggers. We love those guys. You will as well
- 27:03Speaker 9: for the great locations if you want to go and
- 27:05Speaker 9: hang out Froggers.
- 27:06Speaker 1: Grill and Bar.
- 27:06Speaker 7: Yeah yeah, And we have one more gift card and
- 27:08Speaker 7: we'll do that next Tuesday, and based on our picks
- 27:11Speaker 7: for this upcoming championship weekend.
- 27:14Speaker 1: We'll do that on Thursday when Ross is here.
- 27:16Speaker 9: All right four seven nine one text us seven seven
- 27:18Speaker 9: zero three one.
- 27:19Speaker 1: What'd you do? That's new?
- 27:20Speaker 9: As next I'm gonna find out what these guys thought
- 27:22Speaker 9: about Clips's album. Lord willin and then we'll find out
- 27:25Speaker 9: what Deb has to offer for next week. That's right
- 27:28Speaker 9: after this on the Jim Colbert Show.
- 27:30Speaker 10: New keyword this has been the Froggers Football follow up.
- 27:34Speaker 10: Find the Froggers near you at Froggers dot com.
- 27:43Speaker 1: All right, shut soup drops.

- 27:56Speaker 1: God, oh beg, Jimmy, stop, you're making my mouth moist.
- 28:03Speaker 17: And I hate the word moist.
- 28:07Speaker 1: Love food, So keep talking, but by the moist, go
- 28:12Speaker 1: just chout down. Okay, oh stop it, stop stop it.
- 28:19Speaker 1: I'm getting hungry before I can eat.

- 28:32Speaker 9: Every time he calls, I was like I'm talking to
- 28:35Speaker 9: a cartoon badger every single time.

- 28:42Speaker 9: All right, welcome back to the Jim Corber Show. We're

- 29:05Speaker 20: What did you do?
- 29:07Speaker 12: What you do that?
- 29:12Speaker 20: I need to tell you something.
- 29:15Speaker 15: That's right.
- 29:15Speaker 1: Closman Law k l A U s m A in
- 29:18Speaker 1: law dot com.
- 29:19Speaker 9: Glenn will be in with us on Thursday for Colbert
- 29:22Speaker 9: Cork until then what you do that's new. Every Tuesday
- 29:24Speaker 9: at four o'clock for the last seven years or so,
- 29:28Speaker 9: one of the members will choose something for the other
- 29:29Speaker 9: members to.
- 29:30Speaker 1: Watch, read, or listen to. We will do that.
- 29:32Speaker 9: We'll reconvene on that following Tuesday, talk about it, and
- 29:35Speaker 9: then move on to the next choice. I kicked off
- 29:37Speaker 9: the year for us with a hip hop album. This
- 29:40Speaker 9: goes back to what I was doing in at the
- 29:41Speaker 9: end of last year, kind of introducing the guys to
- 29:44Speaker 9: some records that I listened to a lot when I
- 29:46Speaker 9: was younger, and records that got me into hip hop
- 29:48Speaker 9: a lot. And this is damn sure one of them.
- 29:50Speaker 9: It's a clips is the band, it's the Virginia Beach Group.
- 29:53Speaker 9: It's two brothers actually and uh. The album is called
- 29:57Speaker 9: Lord Willin. It was produced by for L Williams. You
- 30:01Speaker 9: can hear his influence all through the album. And I
- 30:04Speaker 9: wondered what you guys would think about it. We'll find
- 30:06Speaker 9: out what deb has to do all for here in
- 30:07Speaker 9: a second.
- 30:07Speaker 1: What do you guys think? First, I had no idea
- 30:10Speaker 1: for LL was part of it.
- 30:11Speaker 7: It's I in one of the videos, like I watched
- 30:13Speaker 7: it or I listened to it on YouTube, and so
- 30:15Speaker 7: for two of them they had videos and he was
- 30:18Speaker 7: in one of them.
- 30:18Speaker 1: I'm like, that's for ol Williams. And then I.
- 30:21Speaker 7: Quickly looked it up and yes, so for Williams is
- 30:24Speaker 7: part of it, you know, producer. Before he was a
- 30:27Speaker 7: frontman and artists on his he.
- 30:29Speaker 9: Had a group called the Neptunes with a guy named
- 30:31Speaker 9: Chad and they they did a lot of beats for
- 30:33Speaker 9: hip hop artists back in the late nineties early two thousands.
- 30:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:37Speaker 7: So, uh, and then I liked Young Boy the second one.
- 30:42Speaker 7: Uh see, it's fun and I don't know what it's
- 30:44Speaker 7: safe to play.
- 30:45Speaker 1: Nothing.
- 30:46Speaker 9: I would say you probably don't want to take a chance.
- 30:50Speaker 9: I think even the clean versions will get us fired. Yeah, okay,
- 30:52Speaker 9: so there you have that.
- 30:54Speaker 7: What's funny is before you mentioned it a week ago today,
- 30:58Speaker 7: I've never heard the name clips before.
- 31:00Speaker 21: Yeah.
- 31:00Speaker 1: Yeah, a lot of people have it.
- 31:02Speaker 9: This was kind of a band that had had about
- 31:04Speaker 9: a two and a half three year run and then
- 31:06Speaker 9: they just kind of went away. I think maybe one
- 31:08Speaker 9: of the guys split off, tried to do something else
- 31:10Speaker 9: or whatever, but it just didn't It was kind of
- 31:12Speaker 9: wild how they disappeared they actually just came back in
- 31:14Speaker 9: the scene about a year and a half, two years ago.
- 31:16Speaker 1: They are.
- 31:17Speaker 7: Then I watch a tiny desk concert they did last year,
- 31:20Speaker 7: and I believe this summer they have a few shows
- 31:22Speaker 7: in Camiforna.
- 31:23Speaker 1: Yeah, sure enough.
- 31:24Speaker 12: Well what's interesting is, just like Jack, I'd never heard
- 31:27Speaker 12: this music before, even though they had at least one
- 31:29Speaker 12: song with Faith Evans. Yes, yes, so there are a
- 31:32Speaker 12: couple of beats that I recognized. And then I went, oh,
- 31:35Speaker 12: that's why I've never heard of these guys before, because
- 31:38Speaker 12: nothing they sing is radio friendly, so you wouldn't have
- 31:42Speaker 12: been introduced to them, you know, listening to the radio,
- 31:44Speaker 12: which is how it was done in the old days.
- 31:46Speaker 1: I would I.
- 31:46Speaker 9: Would think that you would probably recognize Grindon. That was
- 31:49Speaker 9: the song that really kind of busted them out.
- 31:51Speaker 21: Jack.
- 31:51Speaker 9: You can actually play the beginning of that just a
- 31:53Speaker 9: beat most people will know. And the reason why is
- 31:56Speaker 9: is that that sound that you hear that sounds like
- 31:58Speaker 9: a drop, like a water drop. That Sparrell actually doing
- 32:01Speaker 9: that on his mouth.
- 32:02Speaker 16: Oh really, Yost, And I just wanted.
- 32:14Speaker 1: It was about the patrol, all right. That's yeah, that
- 32:23Speaker 1: is the clean version. That's it. It's the song's cheek.
- 32:25Speaker 1: He's getting that that sound that yeah, yeah like that sound,
- 32:29Speaker 1: but he's doing that was and I like Gangster Lean too.
- 32:32Speaker 8: Yeah, you're gonna make me Gangster Lean.
- 32:34Speaker 1: I love this album. Hot Damn is another good, another.
- 32:37Speaker 9: Good, And believe it or not, I've never was a
- 32:39Speaker 9: big Germaine Dupre fan from because he was a big
- 32:44Speaker 9: time producer back in the day as well and had
- 32:46Speaker 9: a little heat with some hip hop stuff as well.
- 32:47Speaker 9: But uh, let's talk about it is the song that
- 32:49Speaker 9: he featured on or help produce, and I think it's
- 32:52Speaker 9: great as well. So it's just a really good album.
- 32:54Speaker 9: One of the reasons I wanted you to hear it
- 32:56Speaker 9: specifically more than anything dead is I know that you're
- 32:58Speaker 9: a big bass fan.
- 33:00Speaker 15: I love.
- 33:01Speaker 1: This isn't that this is.
- 33:03Speaker 9: I mean, these beats really don't lean on eight oh
- 33:06Speaker 9: eight bass or any of the normal stereotypical hip hop stuff.
- 33:09Speaker 9: That's kind of what separated Farrel from his early producing stuff.
- 33:12Speaker 9: It was more it was more instrumental then.
- 33:16Speaker 1: I don't want to be the beat makes up for
- 33:18Speaker 1: the bass.
- 33:19Speaker 7: There's one song where it had more of an R
- 33:21Speaker 7: and B feel, and now I felt, yeah, it was
- 33:24Speaker 7: that was a little like halfway through the album maybe
- 33:26Speaker 7: a little more.
- 33:27Speaker 1: Yeah, my man said, this is taking him back to
- 33:28Speaker 1: high school. I love it.
- 33:29Speaker 7: But uh, definitely it sounded like it was nineties. Yes,
- 33:34Speaker 7: it had a ninety sound to it.
- 33:36Speaker 1: It sure did.
- 33:37Speaker 9: And you know, and again they didn't lean on big,
- 33:39Speaker 9: huge bass beats or any of that stuff to kind
- 33:41Speaker 9: of create the tone. That was more hymn mixing up
- 33:44Speaker 9: you know, like songs. And the cool thing is, I
- 33:46Speaker 9: believe if you go and look, you can actually see
- 33:48Speaker 9: his production notes on this album and see where he
- 33:52Speaker 9: pulled the samples from to create the songs, which is
- 33:54Speaker 9: also very cool.
- 33:55Speaker 8: It just makes me so nervous.
- 33:58Speaker 7: The song I'm good I'm playing now, he's not on
- 34:00Speaker 7: that album, but it's in our system with Clips and
- 34:03Speaker 7: Pharrell Williams, which means I know I'm allowed to play.
- 34:05Speaker 15: Wow.
- 34:06Speaker 1: Cool.
- 34:07Speaker 12: Well, what's interesting is that this is a two thousand
- 34:09Speaker 12: and two album, but the sound is really kind of
- 34:11Speaker 12: like early nineties.
- 34:12Speaker 7: It is, yes, agreed, Yeah, Because my wife came in,
- 34:15Speaker 7: she goes, you know, she asked what I was listening
- 34:17Speaker 7: to it. She goes, yeah, that sounds like way back
- 34:20Speaker 7: I know.
- 34:21Speaker 12: And yet it's really not that far back. I mean,
- 34:23Speaker 12: twenty four four years is.
- 34:25Speaker 15: Gonna be killed.
- 34:26Speaker 1: Oh, it's a grown ass man away.
- 34:30Speaker 8: It is a grown ass man away.
- 34:32Speaker 9: See if you can you play any when the last time? Oh, Jim, yeah,
- 34:35Speaker 9: I got it, I got it.
- 34:37Speaker 1: So now we have no dumb Okay, so hold on
- 34:39Speaker 1: for a second.
- 34:41Speaker 9: I didn't realize two and a half seconds into the
- 34:43Speaker 9: song he was an yelbian word and a.
- 34:45Speaker 1: Half it was the first word.
- 34:48Speaker 12: You're being awfully generous over there, Colbert, that's his hello.
- 34:53Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly right. It's a cultural thing. We don't have
- 34:55Speaker 1: to be mad about it.
- 34:56Speaker 12: That was man, Yeah, except every song I was like that.
- 35:00Speaker 12: That's why I've never heard that.
- 35:00Speaker 1: One gunshy we are we're allowed to play that? How
- 35:05Speaker 1: crazy is that?
- 35:06Speaker 7: But a yeah you could, Yeah, we're not saying dude.
- 35:11Speaker 9: Had We had a guy on the Monsters actually wrote
- 35:13Speaker 9: a song called you Can Say in on the radio,
- 35:16Speaker 9: and the whole song was about all the other stuff
- 35:18Speaker 9: you can't say but you can say one of the
- 35:21Speaker 9: worst words in American culture. I think maybe global culture.
- 35:25Speaker 1: No. I definitely broke into a sweat for sure.
- 35:29Speaker 9: I think that's kind of fun. We should just choose
- 35:31Speaker 9: hip hop albums and how far we can get.
- 35:33Speaker 1: Before we have to dump it.
- 35:35Speaker 12: I like my job, yeah, I really do. I love
- 35:38Speaker 12: my job, like to keep it.
- 35:40Speaker 9: There's a guy that does I forget, I forget who
- 35:43Speaker 9: the artist is, but there's a guy out there that
- 35:44Speaker 9: does an Instagram page and it goes, this is me
- 35:47Speaker 9: playing albums until this particular artist tells me what to do.
- 35:51Speaker 1: And I think it's Biggie and.
- 35:53Speaker 9: Or somebody, and he basically it's the reason he did
- 35:57Speaker 9: this because like every single song this guy has, the
- 36:00Speaker 9: first thing he says is that it's used to have
- 36:02Speaker 9: to do something, you gotta get down or something like that,
- 36:07Speaker 9: and it's just like then it stops.
- 36:08Speaker 1: That's it. The entire post is like twelve seconds long.
- 36:11Speaker 1: That's funny, all right?
- 36:12Speaker 9: That What do you got for us? Okanksey, you guys,
- 36:14Speaker 9: by the way, for tolerating that. I know these things
- 36:16Speaker 9: are a bit of.
- 36:17Speaker 7: A stretch for you guys, but I appreciate it because
- 36:19Speaker 7: something that is, you know, so received by many.
- 36:23Speaker 1: I never didn't even know it exists.
- 36:25Speaker 9: I probably listened to that record two hunder Time. Yeah,
- 36:27Speaker 9: if I've listened to it once. I mean I just
- 36:29Speaker 9: I had a minute there where. That's all I listened
- 36:31Speaker 9: to is clips.
- 36:32Speaker 8: So you're gonna, Allie, kick on your.
- 36:35Speaker 1: To a bitch. Oh yeah, yeah, that's exactly what we did.
- 36:38Speaker 8: You're gonna take it back up again?
- 36:40Speaker 12: No way, Well we're going to throw it back a
- 36:42Speaker 12: little bit further than that. I have in eleven minute
- 36:46Speaker 12: and fifty one second video called ten bizarre nineteen seventies
- 36:51Speaker 12: products we couldn't live without, and I have to say
- 36:55Speaker 12: one of them I feel rightfully exonerated.
- 36:59Speaker 1: What do you mean rightful exonerated?
- 37:00Speaker 8: That a product?
- 37:01Speaker 12: I tried to wrap my arms around the sponge and
- 37:05Speaker 12: they were never sponge worthy Jack, and it could just
- 37:10Speaker 12: could not ever make these things work. And when I
- 37:12Speaker 12: saw them come up on the video, there are a
- 37:14Speaker 12: couple of products that actually made me laugh out loud,
- 37:17Speaker 12: just from the old commercials that you see. Y, G,
- 37:20Speaker 12: your hair smell so terrific.
- 37:22Speaker 1: Oh yeah, man, these were products. G your hair smells terrific?
- 37:26Speaker 8: You remember that?
- 37:27Speaker 1: How crazy is that? Yeah? That'sinitely. I'm gonna lean in
- 37:29Speaker 1: and take a snort of your hair.
- 37:31Speaker 8: But that's exactly what it was like.
- 37:33Speaker 12: And when you see the old commercials, you see the products,
- 37:36Speaker 12: you know It's interesting because these are products that were
- 37:39Speaker 12: just such a part of everyday life, you just never
- 37:41Speaker 12: imagine that not being there anymore. Right, But it's also
- 37:45Speaker 12: just a real walk down memory lane just to see
- 37:48Speaker 12: ten bizarre products nineteen seventies, products that we couldn't live
- 37:52Speaker 12: without and hopefully, in twenty twenty six, will never go
- 37:54Speaker 12: back to again.
- 37:57Speaker 1: I'm interested to see that now. Yeah.
- 37:59Speaker 12: Yeah, I'll tell you which item, what product I feel
- 38:02Speaker 12: exonerated from when we review it next year.
- 38:04Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll try to guess which one it is.
- 38:06Speaker 7: We'll add that link to our post if anyone wants
- 38:08Speaker 7: to see not only what we've done this year, because
- 38:11Speaker 7: this is only the third one upcoming, we have every
- 38:14Speaker 7: year listed and you can link to that from the
- 38:17Speaker 7: beginning in twenty eighteen when we started this bit.
- 38:20Speaker 9: Yeah, and I will tell you, man, I say this
- 38:21Speaker 9: all the time, and it's one hundred percent right.
- 38:23Speaker 1: To have that archive.
- 38:24Speaker 9: Is kind of cool because if you ever get in
- 38:26Speaker 9: a rut, like a content rut, where you just can't
- 38:29Speaker 9: break out of your normal repertoire of stuff you like
- 38:32Speaker 9: to watch, if you go to that master list and
- 38:34Speaker 9: you start perusing that thing, you know it's all four
- 38:36Speaker 9: of us on the shows using stuff that we think
- 38:38Speaker 9: is interesting. Behind the scenes, you're going to find something
- 38:40Speaker 9: that kind of peak your interest for sure.
- 38:43Speaker 8: Very unique list.
- 38:44Speaker 1: It is for sure a.
- 38:44Speaker 9: Right four seven nine six four one. Don't forget your
- 38:47Speaker 9: four o'clock keyword is gold.
- 38:49Speaker 1: That's gold.
- 38:50Speaker 9: Slide over to Real Radio FM and send that away
- 38:52Speaker 9: for your chance at one thousand dollars. Back in a
- 38:56Speaker 9: second with more of the Jim Colberg Show.
- 38:58Speaker 1: Stay right there.
- 39:08Speaker 7: Proudly sponsored since d one by Glenn Klausman Closmanlaw dot Com.
- 39:13Speaker 5: Hi, Hey, good afternoon, guys. Jim great choice clips. Lord
- 39:21Speaker 5: Willing classic album two thousand and two was my freshman
- 39:25Speaker 5: year in high school and you cannot get away from
- 39:27Speaker 5: that grinding beat. But on another note, the new album
- 39:31Speaker 5: Let God Sort Them Out is nominated for I think
- 39:34Speaker 5: five or six Grammys this year. You might want to
- 39:36Speaker 5: take a listen to that. It's it's They're back to
- 39:40Speaker 5: their roots. Love it Do Somewhere for real. The album
- 39:44Speaker 5: is an instant classic. Go take a look at.
- 39:46Speaker 1: It, Will Butt, Thanks for the heads up. Good day,
- 39:49Speaker 1: Covert and Company.
- 39:50Speaker 17: It's Connor, Greek Mike come in so out here forty
- 39:54Speaker 17: four and I seventy five. Kind of wild wood ish
- 39:59Speaker 17: edge of the village is there is an ex mort
- 40:01Speaker 17: adult supercenter right off the side of the road and
- 40:05Speaker 17: their sign says keep Florida Lubricating.
- 40:17Speaker 9: Sorry, all right, your four o'clock he ord a his
- 40:19Speaker 9: gold that's g O l D. Go to real Radio
- 40:23Speaker 9: NFMS and then I'll bring your chance at one thousand bucks.
- 40:25Speaker 9: We will remind you if you are playing the game,
- 40:27Speaker 9: turn your phone on, keep it close to you, and
- 40:30Speaker 9: answer it when it rings, even if you do not
- 40:32Speaker 9: recognize the number, even if it says like what's the unknown, Yeah,
- 40:38Speaker 9: no caller ID any of that stuff, that could be
- 40:40Speaker 9: them telling you you've won.
- 40:42Speaker 1: You have to pick up your phone.
- 40:43Speaker 7: And we've had there's a talkback right here that are
- 40:46Speaker 7: saying they've been.
- 40:46Speaker 1: Playing for months and your years have it? Have it won?
- 40:49Speaker 7: And and some people when they win, they said, I've
- 40:51Speaker 7: been playing this thing for years, someday months or you know.
- 40:55Speaker 7: So it's random. But what I do know, based on
- 40:59Speaker 7: all the day I see for the winners is that
- 41:02Speaker 7: our station has beaten out nearly every other station than
- 41:08Speaker 7: this company for the amount of winners.
- 41:10Speaker 1: That means we have more people playing.
- 41:12Speaker 7: It and you know, so you're talking thousands and thousands
- 41:16Speaker 7: of people are trying to win, and we're there's only
- 41:19Speaker 7: thirteen winners every day, and right now we already have
- 41:21Speaker 7: four winners. I think we're already leading the company. Unbelievable,
- 41:25Speaker 7: and we missed the first day because of the website.
- 41:27Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, for sure. And you only have to wait
- 41:30Speaker 1: an hour. Yeah, that's it.
- 41:31Speaker 12: If you enter at the top of the four o'clock hour,
- 41:33Speaker 12: by five o'clock, you'll know where they or not you've won.
- 41:36Speaker 1: So entered again. That's right. Gold is the word, by the.
- 41:38Speaker 7: Way, And we actually someone on the texting service who's
- 41:41Speaker 7: talking about you know, it seems like some of the
- 41:43Speaker 7: same callers get through all the time, whether it's calling
- 41:46Speaker 7: for contests or doing the texting service.
- 41:49Speaker 1: Some people treat it like a job.
- 41:51Speaker 7: We'll set reminders and have a system down where okay,
- 41:54Speaker 7: on top of the hour, I got to get the keyword,
- 41:56Speaker 7: I'm going to enter And they do it every hour,
- 41:58Speaker 7: thirteen times a day, saying you have to But I'm
- 42:01Speaker 7: saying some people are that dedicated.
- 42:03Speaker 9: Seven seven zero three one. That's how you text us.
- 42:05Speaker 9: If you'd like to leave a talk back that's easy
- 42:06Speaker 9: as well. Grab the iHeartRadio app, go to real radio
- 42:09Speaker 9: and use that mic to send it on over saw something.
- 42:11Speaker 9: You know, we talk about tipping quite a bit. And
- 42:14Speaker 9: actually it's so funny. I wrote this story down because
- 42:16Speaker 9: I saw it online today and then right as I
- 42:18Speaker 9: came in to do the show today and I started
- 42:20Speaker 9: scrolling through doing that final check of the news if
- 42:22Speaker 9: there's anything breaking out there. I went to Facebook and
- 42:25Speaker 9: looking for some human interest stuff, and somebody posted the
- 42:28Speaker 9: story over again, and I'm kind of interested.
- 42:32Speaker 1: So when you guys.
- 42:32Speaker 9: Go and you you you go somewhere to eat, right,
- 42:37Speaker 9: and you get and you get the receipt, you know,
- 42:39Speaker 9: they bring that little folding thing and mubblah blah blah blah,
- 42:42Speaker 9: and then you know they you know, the credit card
- 42:44Speaker 9: up top in the little pocket. They bring it back
- 42:46Speaker 9: and when you open it up, you know, there's your
- 42:48Speaker 9: your receipt, there's the restaurant's receipt. And on the receipt.
- 42:52Speaker 9: With some places, it does the math for you. Right,
- 42:56Speaker 9: let's say your bills fifty seven dollars and seventy five
- 42:59Speaker 9: cents or what I've it'll give you a ten percent tip,
- 43:02Speaker 9: you know, a twenty percent tip and then maybe a
- 43:04Speaker 9: twenty five percent and it'll it'll.
- 43:07Speaker 1: I think it goes eighteen, twenty and twenty two.
- 43:09Speaker 9: I think it actually, yeah, fifteen or eighteen and then
- 43:11Speaker 9: twenty five.
- 43:13Speaker 1: Right, it depends on if they have tablecloths.
- 43:18Speaker 9: And so you and I know a lot of people
- 43:20Speaker 9: use that, right, Like sometimes we will use that because
- 43:22Speaker 9: it's just you'll get twenty percent. I mean, twenty percent
- 43:25Speaker 9: is an easy toime to figure out. But you know,
- 43:26Speaker 9: you look down there and then boom there. It is
- 43:28Speaker 9: very easy, and it's smart. It really is smart. It
- 43:31Speaker 9: takes it takes a step away from people who are
- 43:34Speaker 9: looking to make a decision, and most people will just
- 43:36Speaker 9: kind of lean on the numbers and they shouldn't have
- 43:40Speaker 9: because man, they've uncovered this one restaurant or this one
- 43:43Speaker 9: place where the math wasn't right on the percentages. It
- 43:47Speaker 9: was actually giving them more of a tip than they deserved. Really,
- 43:51Speaker 9: because nobody stops and does the math on them that
- 43:54Speaker 9: they just take it as normal. It wasn't like so much.
- 43:58Speaker 9: But I think the first tip will a dollar or
- 44:00Speaker 9: fifty more. The second one was like right at two
- 44:03Speaker 9: dollars more, and the third one, I think was like,
- 44:05Speaker 9: you know, a little over two dollars more, but every
- 44:08Speaker 9: one of the every one of the choices was wrong.
- 44:11Speaker 1: Wow, And I was like, who would have thought you
- 44:13Speaker 1: had to check that? Of all things?
- 44:16Speaker 9: When you go out to eat, you're already like bracing
- 44:18Speaker 9: yourself when they bring you the bill, especially if you've
- 44:20Speaker 9: had if you've had two drinks, I got bad news
- 44:22Speaker 9: for you.
- 44:22Speaker 1: You just bought another meal.
- 44:23Speaker 8: Yeah, no doubt.
- 44:24Speaker 7: And the I at least had twenty percent as a staple,
- 44:28Speaker 7: as if you're using that at a standard, it's easy
- 44:30Speaker 7: to figure out.
- 44:31Speaker 1: That's easy. Yeah, sure, you know you just percent times too.
- 44:34Speaker 7: Yeah, you move the decimal one and double it and
- 44:36Speaker 7: it's good to go.
- 44:38Speaker 12: That's why I usually don't rely on those things on
- 44:40Speaker 12: the bottom because if they don't give me the twenty
- 44:42Speaker 12: percent choice, and I don't think I want to go
- 44:44Speaker 12: up to twenty three or twenty five, I'll just do
- 44:46Speaker 12: my own simple math.
- 44:47Speaker 7: But some places, like when you are doing small purchases,
- 44:51Speaker 7: like at a coffee place, where it could be under
- 44:54Speaker 7: ten dollars or typically the bill is under twenty, I'm
- 44:57Speaker 7: not interested in the ten, fifteen, twenty, like that one
- 45:00Speaker 7: dollar two dollars three dollars off right, right right right?
- 45:02Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 45:03Speaker 9: Yeah, and uh, I mean again at the coffee places,
- 45:06Speaker 9: it is like, yeah, this is a little question here
- 45:08Speaker 9: for you.
- 45:08Speaker 1: I'm like, oh god, I hate it. I hate it
- 45:10Speaker 1: more than anything.
- 45:10Speaker 9: And I got coffee at that place the other day
- 45:12Speaker 9: and I just reminded myself how much I hate it. Yeah,
- 45:14Speaker 9: I'd rather tip you a dollar than eighty seven cent. Yeah, yeah,
- 45:17Speaker 9: I would, right for sure. And another thing like I
- 45:20Speaker 9: wanted to talk about.
- 45:21Speaker 12: Yeah, how you're gonna get to that eighty seven cents
- 45:23Speaker 12: when there's no pennies anymore?
- 45:24Speaker 15: Nah?
- 45:25Speaker 1: Yeah really digital boom got it.
- 45:28Speaker 9: So we talk about AI a lot, right, I don't
- 45:31Speaker 9: think we've had a conversation about AI that's been very
- 45:33Speaker 9: positive over the last like two or three or four months.
- 45:36Speaker 1: Would you guys agree with that? Nope, Like a lot
- 45:38Speaker 1: of the you you don't agree.
- 45:39Speaker 13: No.
- 45:39Speaker 7: I think there's plenty of positive things, and I think
- 45:42Speaker 7: we've talked about.
- 45:43Speaker 8: It, yeah, like the medicine, how it's going to lead
- 45:45Speaker 8: in medicine.
- 45:45Speaker 9: But what we've talked about mostly is how this is
- 45:48Speaker 9: going to affect slop.
- 45:49Speaker 1: Yeah, you have to slop. The whole production of it.
- 45:51Speaker 7: But the negative actual definitely leads the news on AI.
- 45:55Speaker 1: Right.
- 45:56Speaker 9: So with that said, this week today I saw one
- 45:59Speaker 9: of I mean, if you want to define what AI
- 46:04Speaker 9: for me? Now, I know this is completely subjective, right
- 46:07Speaker 9: when it comes to how you take these technologies in Like,
- 46:10Speaker 9: for somebody may not mean anything like if it can't
- 46:12Speaker 9: produce like a cool song for them to rag on
- 46:15Speaker 9: their sister or something, they don't give a damn about
- 46:16Speaker 9: AI or whatever. My whole thing was, AI is going
- 46:19Speaker 9: to revolutionize the way that we test medications, and it's
- 46:22Speaker 9: going to create a longer lifespan for humans, and it's
- 46:25Speaker 9: going to do it pretty fast. I think within a
- 46:27Speaker 9: generation and a half or so, you're going to see
- 46:30Speaker 9: people that are sending their lives by five, maybe to
- 46:32Speaker 9: eight ten years based on technologies that we are able
- 46:35Speaker 9: to expedite using AI in laboratories and with testing medications. Right,
- 46:41Speaker 9: that's the number one thing I thought it would be, right.
- 46:43Speaker 9: I mean, your Google Sarge engine just going faster and
- 46:46Speaker 9: being a little bit more comprehensive. To me, isn't worth
- 46:50Speaker 9: building a twenty billion dollar data center, right, just so
- 46:54Speaker 9: you can find out somebody's birthday real fast. That's not
- 46:56Speaker 9: exactly what it is. So the story goes like this,
- 47:00Speaker 9: there's a guy who went I want to say it
- 47:02Speaker 9: was to the French Alps and he went to go hiking.
- 47:07Speaker 9: Right and make sure I got this right, there's a
- 47:09Speaker 9: BBC story. He has a mountaineer and he went missing, right,
- 47:14Speaker 9: And they went forever looking for this guy, sent up drones,
- 47:18Speaker 9: helicopter sorties flying around the mountain. Have you seen the story, No,
- 47:23Speaker 9: flying around the mountain looking. I think they looked for
- 47:26Speaker 9: about he's sixty six years old. He was an experienced
- 47:29Speaker 9: climber and an orthopedic surgeon. His name was Nicola Evoldo.
- 47:33Speaker 9: He went missing. They went everywhere looking for him. They
- 47:37Speaker 9: could not find him. To save their lives, and they
- 47:40Speaker 9: kind of knew where he was or to save his Yeah, yeah,
- 47:43Speaker 9: it was about a five hundred square mile area where
- 47:47Speaker 9: they thought he was.
- 47:48Speaker 8: That's all.
- 47:49Speaker 9: Yeah, five hundred square miles, right. So they're flying drones
- 47:52Speaker 9: over it. They're flying helicopters costing tens of thousands, possibly
- 47:56Speaker 9: hundreds of thousands of dollars searching for this guy. After
- 47:59Speaker 9: a while, they kind of realized that there's a chance
- 48:02Speaker 9: that this guy's not going to be alive. I think
- 48:03Speaker 9: it was like maybe three days after you know, they
- 48:07Speaker 9: did the search. They stopped for three days, and they
- 48:09Speaker 9: kept on looking and they couldn't find it. And somebody
- 48:13Speaker 9: came up with the idea and they said, well, what
- 48:14Speaker 9: if we used AI to find this guy? And they're like, well,
- 48:17Speaker 9: how would you use AI to find this guy? Right,
- 48:20Speaker 9: So they took one of the photographs from the helicopter, right,
- 48:25Speaker 9: and they and they and they told AI. They said, hey,
- 48:28Speaker 9: go pixel by pixel, pixel by pixel of a higher
- 48:35Speaker 9: res photograph from a rece or from a rescue helicopter,
- 48:38Speaker 9: the same ones that look for people at sea, which is,
- 48:40Speaker 9: I've heard one of the hardest things to do. It's
- 48:44Speaker 9: literally to find somebody at sea. You would think it
- 48:47Speaker 9: would be easy, but it is not easy at all. Right,
- 48:50Speaker 9: this apparently is equally as difficult. So they told AI
- 48:54Speaker 9: go pixel to pixel and look for any aberration of
- 48:59Speaker 9: color against this landscape because they knew he had a
- 49:02Speaker 9: red helmet on. That's what they knew. They're like, well,
- 49:06Speaker 9: it's a red helmet. And even in this landscape of rock,
- 49:09Speaker 9: crags and snow and all of.
- 49:11Speaker 8: This stuff, red's not going to be a predominant color, go.
- 49:14Speaker 9: And find this red and they sent and the idea
- 49:19Speaker 9: that this AI went from pixel to pixel in this
- 49:22Speaker 9: photograph looking for it, and guess what it found it
- 49:26Speaker 9: It found him. And the most impressive part is the AI,
- 49:30Speaker 9: as it went from pixel to pixel, realized where the
- 49:32Speaker 9: helmet was. And the story that gets so weird about
- 49:35Speaker 9: it is the helmet was actually in a shadow. But
- 49:38Speaker 9: because AI is so thorough when it comes to the search,
- 49:41Speaker 9: and it was so disciplined to look for that color difference,
- 49:46Speaker 9: because they programmed it and they asked it look for
- 49:49Speaker 9: anything that looks outside of the norm, including rock crags,
- 49:52Speaker 9: this color, and they gave it this big prompt and
- 49:55Speaker 9: that damn thing went from pixel to pixel on this
- 49:57Speaker 9: gigantic photograph. I think it like two and a half hours,
- 50:00Speaker 9: and then it said there, it is right there, and
- 50:02Speaker 9: even then they found the helmet. They found the guy
- 50:04Speaker 9: was passed away unfortunately, but his helmet was even get
- 50:09Speaker 9: in a shadow and they still found it. And they
- 50:11Speaker 9: said that had that AI not found it, that guy
- 50:13Speaker 9: probably would have died and stayed on that mountain until
- 50:16Speaker 9: it melts, and it could have been it could have
- 50:18Speaker 9: been forever until they found that guy because they're still
- 50:20Speaker 9: finding people on everest who had been covered up. And
- 50:24Speaker 9: then as the melts come, they'll see a foot sticking
- 50:26Speaker 9: out of the snow or.
- 50:27Speaker 12: Nothing for the climbers to walk by the bodies of
- 50:30Speaker 12: other climbers.
- 50:30Speaker 1: Oh yeah, they're all up there. It's crazy.
- 50:32Speaker 9: But I thought that was the craziest thing. And they
- 50:35Speaker 9: make such a big deal about it because of how
- 50:37Speaker 9: much information that is for the AI to look at.
- 50:40Speaker 9: But it would have taken a human being, you know,
- 50:42Speaker 9: a loop and a blown up picture and it would
- 50:44Speaker 9: have taken a month to go through there.
- 50:46Speaker 1: Yeah, and still.
- 50:47Speaker 9: Probably wouldn't have found it because of where it was
- 50:49Speaker 9: on the mountain. Wow, just so unbelievably impressive to me.
- 50:53Speaker 8: If only they had had that idea the three days prior.
- 50:56Speaker 1: But at least now they do.
- 50:58Speaker 9: Yeah, the helicopter dropped a two drone pilots on the
- 51:01Speaker 9: mountain the slopes close to those rocky faces and colors,
- 51:04Speaker 9: which also some of the colors as the sun bounced
- 51:06Speaker 9: off the rocks. Yeah, it would mimic the color of
- 51:08Speaker 9: the helmet and the AI saw right through it. Pretty crazy,
- 51:11Speaker 9: And it says until two years ago they would be
- 51:13Speaker 9: analyzing these photographs by themselves, each and every one of them.
- 51:17Speaker 9: They would have a human being in a room and
- 51:19Speaker 9: a magnifying glass looking through anything to find some little
- 51:23Speaker 9: drop that they could use to go and find this cat.
- 51:25Speaker 12: It's no different than doing the fingerprints the way it
- 51:28Speaker 12: used to be.
- 51:29Speaker 1: Oh yeah, with the book.
- 51:30Speaker 8: Counting the ridges and the grooves.
- 51:31Speaker 1: Oh my god, did.
- 51:32Speaker 12: You actually I learned recently how our finger finger prints
- 51:37Speaker 12: are created.
- 51:37Speaker 8: I told you that, you the one who told us
- 51:39Speaker 8: about that.
- 51:39Speaker 1: Yeah, it's when you that's.
- 51:40Speaker 12: Right, when you bump up against the amniotic sack, when
- 51:43Speaker 12: you're in the womb.
- 51:44Speaker 9: Yeah, that create so crazy, that creates your finger I
- 51:47Speaker 9: did not know that until I think we did trivia
- 51:49Speaker 9: on fingerprints exactly.
- 51:50Speaker 8: That's I still am amazed that that's the case.
- 51:52Speaker 9: And I always wondered, like, how could it be where
- 51:55Speaker 9: no human beings could have the same fingerprint. Well, obviously,
- 51:57Speaker 9: if you're in the womb, there's I mean, there's no
- 51:59Speaker 9: way to predict how people could bump up against the
- 52:01Speaker 9: side of that wall the same. I mean, the chances
- 52:03Speaker 9: of that are virtually none. The one thing, and do
- 52:06Speaker 9: identical twins, they do they have the same fingerprints.
- 52:10Speaker 12: I don't believe so, because they think that's one of
- 52:13Speaker 12: the things, right that and their belly button, which we
- 52:15Speaker 12: learned about trivia as well. Right See, we learned something
- 52:17Speaker 12: new every day from you crazy.
- 52:19Speaker 1: Business, all right.
- 52:20Speaker 9: Four oh seven nine one six one four one text
- 52:22Speaker 9: Us at seven seven zero three one. It says, yeah,
- 52:25Speaker 9: they ended up with three possible locations, one that contained
- 52:28Speaker 9: that red object. The next morning, when the drones went out,
- 52:30Speaker 9: the red object in one of the photos turned out
- 52:31Speaker 9: to be his helmet. This led rescuers to quickly discover
- 52:35Speaker 9: the body of the missing doctor, still partially covered in snow,
- 52:37Speaker 9: dressed in black. Without AI flagging the red dot in
- 52:40Speaker 9: one of those drone photos. He may have never ever
- 52:43Speaker 9: been found, It said. The software managed to detect the
- 52:47Speaker 9: red color even though the helmet was in shade when
- 52:50Speaker 9: the when the image was taken, pretty darn and pressive.
- 52:53Speaker 8: It is amazing, all right.
- 52:54Speaker 9: Four oh seven nine one six one four one text
- 52:57Speaker 9: Us at seven seven zero three one. Scott Brown coming
- 53:00Speaker 9: in a little bit later, the triumphant return of Scott
- 53:03Speaker 9: Brown from eduardor family Wealth. We've had Brad Scher in
- 53:05Speaker 9: a couple of weeks and his son he's been great,
- 53:07Speaker 9: but we will get the We will get the information
- 53:10Speaker 9: from the mouth of the horse himself.
- 53:12Speaker 1: Today.
- 53:13Speaker 8: He's gonna want to talk to you about that.
- 53:15Speaker 1: And real quick before we're gonna break.
- 53:19Speaker 21: Had not the.
- 53:20Speaker 8: Surprise when he comes in if he wins.
- 53:24Speaker 9: Have you guys seen this thing that's happening on CNN,
- 53:28Speaker 9: this climb from this guy Alex Honold.
- 53:30Speaker 1: Have you seen it? No?
- 53:32Speaker 9: I think Alex Honold is known as the greatest free
- 53:35Speaker 9: climber ever. I think he's the only person in the
- 53:38Speaker 9: history of El Capitan, you know that basically that giant rock.
- 53:42Speaker 9: I think he's the only guy that's ever free climbed
- 53:44Speaker 9: it with no safety gear at all. If I remember right,
- 53:47Speaker 9: he may be that guy. He's going to climb a
- 53:50Speaker 9: building on Friday, a skyscraper live on Netflix.
- 53:56Speaker 7: They said, it's I watched the promo for it last night.
- 53:59Speaker 7: It's going to be live for two hours on Netflix.
- 54:02Speaker 7: Won't it take more than two hours to climb the skyscraper.
- 54:04Speaker 9: One hundred and one story tie Pay skyscraper. And the
- 54:08Speaker 9: way the thing is shaped is the reason why people
- 54:10Speaker 9: are freaking out about it, because it's that big skyscraper
- 54:13Speaker 9: where the it doesn't the the sections don't go straight up,
- 54:17Speaker 9: they go out like that. Yeah, so like a like
- 54:20Speaker 9: it's you know, like it's like a so he has
- 54:22Speaker 9: to climb not straight up. He has actually climb at
- 54:25Speaker 9: an angle, I believe, and then go over the ridge
- 54:27Speaker 9: and then go up and do the same thing.
- 54:28Speaker 1: A hundred. He's got a stories. He's got a kid,
- 54:31Speaker 1: by the way. Yeah, yeah, there's the guy with a kid.
- 54:33Speaker 7: Do it climbing a thousand foot high skyscraper with no safety.
- 54:37Speaker 9: Net no no, no, no nothing, no parachute, no safety lines,
- 54:41Speaker 9: no safety nets, no nothing. That's called free climbing. No nets,
- 54:44Speaker 9: no nothing, one mistake.
- 54:46Speaker 1: You go. That's it. Live on Netflix. I can't even
- 54:50Speaker 1: and I was gonna, I cannot watch it. I can't
- 54:52Speaker 1: watch it.
- 54:53Speaker 8: I cannot watch.
- 54:54Speaker 9: When they when I saw the fight, Like, CNN has
- 54:56Speaker 9: a story on this, and they're doing an interview with him,
- 54:59Speaker 9: and while they're doing interview, they're showing clips of him
- 55:02Speaker 9: doing this. Now, the people who photograph him are online,
- 55:05Speaker 9: so they're perfectly safe, and they just they basically go
- 55:08Speaker 9: right up beside him while he's free climbing and they
- 55:10Speaker 9: film him when they do this shot from the top
- 55:12Speaker 9: of this mountain down to show him and the guy
- 55:15Speaker 9: climbing up that.
- 55:16Speaker 1: Last one hundred feet or whatever.
- 55:17Speaker 9: I almost just kind of got vertigo and fell over, Ah,
- 55:21Speaker 9: because it just takes it away from me so much.
- 55:24Speaker 9: I hate heights so much that it's difficult for me.
- 55:28Speaker 1: I won't be able to watch it.
- 55:29Speaker 9: And this guy is a This guy is a marvel
- 55:31Speaker 9: of a human being, I mean a marvel. And he's
- 55:35Speaker 9: not that young anymore. He's been doing this forever man. Yeah, yeah,
- 55:39Speaker 9: Alex Honald is his name, and he's known as that.
- 55:41Speaker 9: I think he's the greatest free climber in the world,
- 55:44Speaker 9: the most the most awarded and considered, I believe, the
- 55:49Speaker 9: best that's ever lived.
- 55:51Speaker 1: And he's gonna climb this building. This happened before, Jack.
- 55:53Speaker 9: You remember that in the eighties, that guy called the Fly,
- 55:55Speaker 9: the human fly or whatever climbed up one of the
- 55:57Speaker 9: buildings in New York.
- 56:00Speaker 7: The Twin Towers. Wait, there was the guy who walked
- 56:02Speaker 7: across it on the type rope. Yeah, that's that's not
- 56:05Speaker 7: that's the guy that climbed it. Yeah, there was the guy.
- 56:07Speaker 9: He did it in like a he did it in
- 56:09Speaker 9: a costume, like a like a like a superhero costume
- 56:12Speaker 9: or something.
- 56:12Speaker 20: Yeah.
- 56:12Speaker 12: Yeah, well think about Nikolinda's grandfather who did this between
- 56:15Speaker 12: two skyscrapers and Puerto Rico and then ended up falling
- 56:18Speaker 12: to his death.
- 56:18Speaker 9: Yeah, the wind, the wind got him and he couldn't
- 56:20Speaker 9: get down to the wire enough to balance himself and
- 56:22Speaker 9: he just toppled over fell twelve twenty seven stories.
- 56:26Speaker 1: Yeah no, yeah, no, thanks, can't watch it? No all right?
- 56:28Speaker 9: Four seven nine four one text us at seven seven
- 56:32Speaker 9: zero three one back in one second with more than
- 56:34Speaker 9: Jim Colbert show.
- 56:45Speaker 19: What's Up guys, saw as your boy line and teacher.
- 56:48Speaker 1: Just a little psa.
- 56:49Speaker 19: With all the gift cards given out over the holiday season,
- 56:52Speaker 19: if you're going to use one at a restaurant, make sure.
- 56:54Speaker 1: You're using and tipping before you.
- 56:57Speaker 8: Use that gift card.
- 56:58Speaker 19: That way that server gets paid on what the amount
- 57:01Speaker 19: of the actual food was and everything. And also be
- 57:03Speaker 19: careful with all those automated ones that they put out
- 57:07Speaker 19: at the table and they're asking for like the tip
- 57:10Speaker 19: before they run your cards and everything.
- 57:13Speaker 1: So be careful. Tell you Budy appreciate it.
- 57:16Speaker 13: I don't know if you guys covered this on the
- 57:20Speaker 13: news part today, but do we really need another Fast
- 57:25Speaker 13: and the Furious roller coaster. They already have one, Hollywood,
- 57:29Speaker 13: why do an you want to hear at Universal? They
- 57:31Speaker 13: should have just changed it to back to the future.
- 57:34Speaker 13: Bring it back Universal. Come on anyway, anyway, guys, have
- 57:39Speaker 13: a great show.
- 57:39Speaker 1: Thanks buddy, appreciate that prevent away. Yeah. I don't know, man,
- 57:43Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 57:44Speaker 9: I saw that that Fast and Furious thing was coming,
- 57:46Speaker 9: but I'm not a thing part guy.
- 57:48Speaker 1: I guess. I mean I read something about it.
- 57:50Speaker 7: I missed that one the I know there. This show
- 57:54Speaker 7: that they did was a huge bus.
- 57:56Speaker 9: Yeah, yeah, yeah, that was one of the staging areas
- 57:59Speaker 9: for Halloween Hard Knights. I remember walking through that. I'm like,
- 58:02Speaker 9: nobody ever talks about this now. Yeah, I thought it
- 58:05Speaker 9: was just a display thing that to talk about it
- 58:07Speaker 9: in the beginning with how bad it was?
- 58:09Speaker 1: Oh really? Yeah?
- 58:10Speaker 9: All right for seven nine six four one, text us
- 58:12Speaker 9: at seven seven zero three one. Don't forget your four
- 58:14Speaker 9: o'clock keyword is gold.
- 58:16Speaker 1: That's g O L D.
- 58:17Speaker 9: Go to Real Radio FM and send that out for
- 58:19Speaker 9: your chance at one thousand bucks. We'll have a fresheet
- 58:21Speaker 9: for you at the top of the hour.
- 58:23Speaker 1: I'm Jim. There's deb he Jack is here as well.
- 58:26Speaker 15: YEP.
- 58:26Speaker 9: National Championship game was last night. It was actually a
- 58:29Speaker 9: lot of fun to watch. I'm not a big college
- 58:30Speaker 9: football guy, and I have no dog in.
- 58:33Speaker 1: That hunt for either one of those teams.
- 58:35Speaker 9: You know, Miami is a Florida team, and I was
- 58:38Speaker 9: a Florida State fan, so we had some classic battles
- 58:41Speaker 9: back in the eighties. Florida State and Miami with those
- 58:43Speaker 9: two big, giant offense is always fun to watch. I
- 58:46Speaker 9: have no interest. I just hear you gotta watch Indiana
- 58:49Speaker 9: play because they're big. They look a lot like Alabama
- 58:51Speaker 9: from the Midwest, which is an accurate depiction of the team.
- 58:55Speaker 9: But there was some controversy at the game last night,
- 58:57Speaker 9: and it had nothing to do with what was going
- 58:59Speaker 9: on on the field. Oh boy, what happened? An ESPN
- 59:02Speaker 9: cameraman is catching some hell now, let me say, let
- 59:08Speaker 9: me say this. Did not do anything wrong, per se,
- 59:14Speaker 9: I knew the per se part.
- 59:15Speaker 1: Ye didn't tee it up.
- 59:18Speaker 9: Didn't do anything that broke any rule, no FCC violation,
- 59:23Speaker 9: didn't say anything, nothing like that.
- 59:27Speaker 1: Zumming in on hot women.
- 59:30Speaker 9: A hot woman, Oh yeah, why would that be controversial?
- 59:35Speaker 1: I mean, the woman was completely.
- 59:37Speaker 9: Nothing happened, no outward movements, nothing dirty.
- 59:43Speaker 1: She didn't yell anything, no, nothing was this camera angle massive.
- 59:48Speaker 9: Massive controversy because they did a really big close up
- 59:52Speaker 9: right on this girl in the crowd.
- 59:54Speaker 1: What was the point of the close up? Don't know that.
- 59:58Speaker 9: Yeah, just a fan shot just to you know after
- 1:00:01Speaker 9: the game is over. Miami fans were distraught. This person
- 1:00:04Speaker 9: is a Miami fan. She was distraught. Apparently she had
- 1:00:08Speaker 9: a seat that was easy to see by ESPN and
- 1:00:11Speaker 9: they flashed over and of all the people at the
- 1:00:14Speaker 9: stadium in Miami, they put this girl on the camera. Well,
- 1:00:21Speaker 9: if you do that, you're gonna find out the bit
- 1:00:24Speaker 9: why they put her on mean why it's a big controversy, huge, No,
- 1:00:28Speaker 9: although she may have a huge rag.
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: I love hearing you say that, though. So she wasn't crying, No,
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: not crying.
- 1:00:38Speaker 8: Making out with somebody, not.
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: Making out laughing, not laughing that.
- 1:00:42Speaker 8: She was very sad, wearing shorts or a short skirt.
- 1:00:46Speaker 9: No, not showing any skin at all, just in the crowd,
- 1:00:50Speaker 9: very sad.
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: She's putting on lip gloss. No, she was eating a banana. No,
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: she didn't give the finger.
- 1:00:59Speaker 8: I wasn't there.
- 1:01:00Speaker 9: ESPN cameras panned to adult film star oh a Bella Danger,
- 1:01:07Speaker 9: whom I've never heard of before, in the.
- 1:01:09Speaker 12: Crowd, but apparently the cameraman has during the first.
- 1:01:12Speaker 9: Fourth quarter of Miami Night's game or Miami Monday Night's game. Indiana,
- 1:01:17Speaker 9: of course, beat Miami twenty seven to twenty one at
- 1:01:19Speaker 9: the college football playoff, but the but should esp and
- 1:01:22Speaker 9: camerasman cameraman have panned her in the crowd on Monday evening.
- 1:01:27Speaker 9: Some aren't happy about it, and it said, quote here,
- 1:01:30Speaker 9: no shot. ESPN just showed a Bella Danger on national television.
- 1:01:34Speaker 9: One person wrote, but look that's her right there, and
- 1:01:37Speaker 9: look at the face she's making. Now she's sad, but
- 1:01:40Speaker 9: that could be a mony face.
- 1:01:42Speaker 12: Yeah, I'm pretty sure the cameraman's like, wait, I saw
- 1:01:44Speaker 12: that the last video right down exactly.
- 1:01:47Speaker 9: That's very That is a very money face field to it,
- 1:01:51Speaker 9: that's for sure.
- 1:01:52Speaker 12: But Jack's got it up on our YouTube screen if
- 1:01:55Speaker 12: you want to see it.
- 1:01:55Speaker 9: Oh yeah, this guy, look at her there she is
- 1:01:58Speaker 9: apparently that's a big time porn star.
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: I'd never heard of her before, but she was in
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: the crowd and he asked you recognize her?
- 1:02:05Speaker 9: Nope, ESPN man, they went right to her and there
- 1:02:10Speaker 9: you go, a bella danger. But apparently that ESPN cameraran's
- 1:02:13Speaker 9: catching hell. A lot of people online were saying ESPN
- 1:02:17Speaker 9: and came ran hold my beer, spoting a Bella danger midgame,
- 1:02:20Speaker 9: parents clutching pearls. Miami takes the l legend status unlocked
- 1:02:25Speaker 9: for the ESPN Guy, thirty year old adult film star,
- 1:02:30Speaker 9: was in tears following the game on Monday evening as
- 1:02:33Speaker 9: Miami's dream season came to an end.
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: Quote.
- 1:02:35Speaker 9: I hate this, She told her how many fans on
- 1:02:38Speaker 9: her Instagram two and a.
- 1:02:40Speaker 8: Half million, one point thirty million.
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: I mean, did you say one three? Would you say
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: a two and a half?
- 1:02:45Speaker 9: I hate this, she told her nine and a half
- 1:02:48Speaker 9: million Instagram fans. She goes, even though we lost, I
- 1:02:52Speaker 9: don't care. The game tonight prove that no one else
- 1:02:54Speaker 9: deserved to be in the National Championship over Miami, and
- 1:02:58Speaker 9: nobody cares about your opinion on Miami exactly. They're not
- 1:03:01Speaker 9: gonna really care about that. When they find out about
- 1:03:03Speaker 9: what you do for a limit.
- 1:03:04Speaker 8: Yeah, they're a yeah, not here for your on field.
- 1:03:09Speaker 9: It's just kind of funny. They give all the people
- 1:03:11Speaker 9: in that stadium. What do you do to like forty
- 1:03:12Speaker 9: fifty thousand people in that stadium that cameraman spotted her instantaneously.
- 1:03:16Speaker 8: Here's the other thing.
- 1:03:17Speaker 12: She's also a law student at the University of Miami.
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: Is she really?
- 1:03:22Speaker 9: So she must be an only fans because they say
- 1:03:26Speaker 9: adult film star. But I mean, if you're an OnlyFans,
- 1:03:29Speaker 9: content creators that make you an adult film star.
- 1:03:32Speaker 12: This is interesting. One fan tweeted, quote guys across the
- 1:03:35Speaker 12: country watching the game with their wives and having to
- 1:03:37Speaker 12: pretend they had no idea who what Bella Danger was
- 1:03:40Speaker 12: when they showed her on TV and their wife asked,
- 1:03:43Speaker 12: who's that?
- 1:03:44Speaker 9: Jack had some candid photographs of Bella Danger up on
- 1:03:48Speaker 9: the feed Real Radio, Dot FM, slash Watch.
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: They're safe.
- 1:03:52Speaker 9: She's clothed, Yeah, yeah, they're all clothed. Yeah, but she's
- 1:03:54Speaker 9: doing her thing there right. Oh that one, Jack, she's
- 1:03:57Speaker 9: making the face like, I don't know, to step on something.
- 1:04:01Speaker 8: Yeah, I'm sure that's what the face is.
- 1:04:04Speaker 9: She must have stepped on something, Jack. That one face
- 1:04:06Speaker 9: looks like she's hurting or something.
- 1:04:10Speaker 15: Good.
- 1:04:10Speaker 9: Lord, Yeah, I don't know that she's a film star, dude.
- 1:04:13Speaker 9: She looks like maybe just an OnlyFans creator. I'm not
- 1:04:15Speaker 9: you know, I'm not discounting that by any means. But
- 1:04:17Speaker 9: I don't know if she's like part of one of
- 1:04:19Speaker 9: the Vivid like if she's a Vivid girl or something
- 1:04:21Speaker 9: like that.
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:04:22Speaker 12: Her law firm interview is going to be rather interesting
- 1:04:25Speaker 12: in the future.
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: I don't even know if it matters anymore. I don't know.
- 1:04:28Speaker 8: I believe I think it would. I think it would depend.
- 1:04:31Speaker 12: I think if you're trying to get hired at a
- 1:04:33Speaker 12: prestigious law firm and you have that as their background
- 1:04:36Speaker 12: and they're going to have to answer for it, I
- 1:04:38Speaker 12: think it very very much could affect what law firms
- 1:04:41Speaker 12: are going to want to hire her and put her
- 1:04:43Speaker 12: as that front face.
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:04:44Speaker 9: Yeah, yeah, it's so funny. It's no shot. ESPN just
- 1:04:48Speaker 9: showed a bellat Angel in that.
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:04:50Speaker 9: I think it's more of a tell that you know
- 1:04:51Speaker 9: who it is, Like I wouldn't have posted anything like that, Like.
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: No chance of ESPN just put this por Like how
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: would you know.
- 1:04:56Speaker 9: Who a bella danger is? Like you gotta know, dude,
- 1:05:00Speaker 9: just to pick some porns are out of a crowd
- 1:05:01Speaker 9: of fifty thousand people, you gotta be a little more
- 1:05:03Speaker 9: tuned in, Like I saw her once on a magazine.
- 1:05:06Speaker 9: I mean, that ain't just something you stum belong.
- 1:05:08Speaker 15: To, right.
- 1:05:08Speaker 7: But if they say she's a Miami super fan, then
- 1:05:11Speaker 7: typically super fans are recognized just like the fire the
- 1:05:15Speaker 7: guy with the fireman helmet at the Jets games.
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, you know, it's like you always see him.
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: They're always in the same seat.
- 1:05:21Speaker 9: Yeah yeah, interesting though, all right four O seven nine
- 1:05:24Speaker 9: one six one o four to one text does at
- 1:05:26Speaker 9: seven to seven zero three one always like to be
- 1:05:29Speaker 9: on the cusp of new dating ideas, And I have
- 1:05:32Speaker 9: to tell you, usually I kind of mock them. I
- 1:05:34Speaker 9: bring them up only so we can make fun of them. Ah,
- 1:05:37Speaker 9: these guys may be onto something. This is a this
- 1:05:39Speaker 9: is a really interesting new dating technique, and I think
- 1:05:43Speaker 9: that you are going to think it's very funny. I'll
- 1:05:46Speaker 9: tell you what it is next.
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: Thang.
- 1:05:47Speaker 21: Look, you know, cameraman show gratudas shots of girls half
- 1:05:56Speaker 21: naked in the crowd of football games and up close
- 1:05:59Speaker 21: to really hot ones. If you want to get upset
- 1:06:02Speaker 21: about a bell of danger being spotted at a game, give.
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: Me a break.
- 1:06:06Speaker 21: I mean, because people have an issue what she does.
- 1:06:08Speaker 21: It shouldn't make a difference what she does. It's a
- 1:06:10Speaker 21: perfectly league profession. People want to get over it.
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: Pearl clutching.
- 1:06:14Speaker 22: But hey, Covert and Crew Delanne Steve here, Hey, I.
- 1:06:18Speaker 14: Was just wondering.
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: I put my uh, the word of the hour in there,
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: and I've been trying for months, years and.
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: Decades to get that thousand dollars.
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: And I'm just wondering if I have a spam app.
- 1:06:31Speaker 18: That intercepts spam calls, and I'm wondering if that's why
- 1:06:34Speaker 18: i haven't received a call.
- 1:06:35Speaker 9: No, but your companions call you have a good after
- 1:06:39Speaker 9: your competition gets hundreds of thousands of people, Doug, Yeah, yeah, man,
- 1:06:43Speaker 9: a lot out there. By the way, you're five o'clock.
- 1:06:44Speaker 9: Keyword is check CG C K. Got a real radio
- 1:06:47Speaker 9: don FM and send that away for your chance in
- 1:06:49Speaker 9: a thousand bucks. When we hear that all the time.
- 1:06:51Speaker 9: Uh and inevitably, you know a lot of Actually we
- 1:06:53Speaker 9: had a winner last year. Uh if I remember right
- 1:06:56Speaker 9: said they've been doing the since we started it, which
- 1:06:59Speaker 9: is kind of what Jack ten years ago.
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: Until over ten years.
- 1:07:02Speaker 7: Yeah, we were doing it before I became manager.
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: And that was twenty thirteen.
- 1:07:07Speaker 9: Yeah, so wow, we've been doing it in a minute here,
- 1:07:10Speaker 9: and you know, people say the same thing. It's just
- 1:07:12Speaker 9: you know, look, you know, it's a little bit of
- 1:07:13Speaker 9: luck in there, and then it's you being prepared when
- 1:07:16Speaker 9: the opportunity arises.
- 1:07:17Speaker 12: And not only that, listen, do not sleep on those
- 1:07:21Speaker 12: later keywords. We give you keywords right up until nine
- 1:07:24Speaker 12: o'clock tonight.
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: That's right.
- 1:07:25Speaker 12: Not that many people listening at seven, eight, nine o'clock.
- 1:07:29Speaker 12: So if you really want to win, you know, maybe
- 1:07:31Speaker 12: think about entering some of those later keywords as well.
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: For sure.
- 1:07:35Speaker 9: Welcome back on Jim, there's deb Hello. Jack is here
- 1:07:37Speaker 9: as well. By the way, I guess Bella Rain or
- 1:07:39Speaker 9: a Bella was her name, a Bella danger.
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: There you go, there you go.
- 1:07:43Speaker 9: She is a major player and somebody called her a
- 1:07:46Speaker 9: top dog in the business right now. So she's not
- 1:07:48Speaker 9: just an only fan in's content creator. She's an actual
- 1:07:52Speaker 9: full blown porn star. Bad phrasing there. Congratulation, Yeah, yeah,
- 1:07:56Speaker 9: good job, all right, Uh you really use your skill set,
- 1:08:02Speaker 9: hey man.
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: Whatever.
- 1:08:03Speaker 7: She's also a director, Jim, Yeah.
- 1:08:08Speaker 12: He said that was so much indignation, Jack, It was beautiful.
- 1:08:12Speaker 7: I'm just looking at the overview, it says she's an
- 1:08:15Speaker 7: American pornographic film actress, director, and erotic photography model.
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: Thirty years old. Could you please mark that for me?
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: Sure that one hurt, buddy?
- 1:08:27Speaker 8: Five O three.
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: Corn corn stuff five oh three. H She's also a director, Jim.
- 1:08:39Speaker 12: No say it with indignation. She's a director, Jim. She's
- 1:08:45Speaker 12: hustling out there, man, that's so good.
- 1:08:47Speaker 9: She's doing his power to boost her integrity. That's so great, buddy,
- 1:08:52Speaker 9: you're the greatest.
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: It's like she's following the step foots of.
- 1:08:55Speaker 7: Ron Howard and Jason Bates. Sure, yeah, yeah, yeah, go
- 1:08:58Speaker 7: from in front of the camera to behind.
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: He's right, the game, not the player, Jim.
- 1:09:02Speaker 9: Normal transition for sure. All Right, So I said, this
- 1:09:07Speaker 9: is a USA Today story. By the way, if you
- 1:09:08Speaker 9: wanna check this out, read it in its entirety. It's
- 1:09:10Speaker 9: quite a bit. So we'll just kind of encapsulate it
- 1:09:12Speaker 9: for you and give you the heads up on the
- 1:09:14Speaker 9: new dating trend. Aw Look, you know we've heard damn
- 1:09:19Speaker 9: near every possible iteration of dating trends, have we not?
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: I mean, speed dating, online dating.
- 1:09:27Speaker 12: I've heard of a new one, a new trend. But
- 1:09:30Speaker 12: I'll wait and see, because I don't know if it's
- 1:09:32Speaker 12: this one.
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: No, give me the hit.
- 1:09:33Speaker 7: I'll tell you if you're un or not speed friends
- 1:09:35Speaker 7: we talked about No this is blindfold dating.
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: I've heard of that one as well. Yeah, that's a
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: lot like that Love is Blind.
- 1:09:42Speaker 12: Exactly exactly where you make a connection on voice and
- 1:09:45Speaker 12: subject matter, but not looks all right right right?
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: Oh it is, Jack.
- 1:09:49Speaker 9: It is the most dangerous when you watch that Love
- 1:09:52Speaker 9: is Blind show and they talk for like six, eight,
- 1:09:55Speaker 9: ten days and they fall in love. They're saying stuff
- 1:09:57Speaker 9: that people have been together twenty years don't say to
- 1:09:59Speaker 9: each other. And they opened that window and they had
- 1:10:01Speaker 9: a walk down the aisle toward each other.
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: Man.
- 1:10:03Speaker 9: There's one where that girl just like got about halfway
- 1:10:05Speaker 9: and she's like, no, dog, well no, no, no.
- 1:10:09Speaker 8: No, Jack's just got danger on the brain.
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: She's like, you didn't right, you didn't sound fat. Oh
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: that can change anyway.
- 1:10:16Speaker 9: That's not it, Debra, Jack, you want to take a
- 1:10:18Speaker 9: shot at what this dating trend would be.
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: It's not blindfold. It's not blindfold.
- 1:10:23Speaker 9: And I will tell you there really isn't There really
- 1:10:26Speaker 9: isn't a like, it's not anything like that.
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: It's got it. They do it genealogy testing. That's a
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: good guess.
- 1:10:34Speaker 8: I guess they match weapons.
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: That's funny.
- 1:10:37Speaker 9: No, what is one of the most unique things when
- 1:10:40Speaker 9: you're dating, Like when you start dating for the first time.
- 1:10:42Speaker 9: Of course I've not done this in a billion years,
- 1:10:44Speaker 9: but when you start dating you have conversation, right, and
- 1:10:48Speaker 9: what do you talk about when you start dating when
- 1:10:50Speaker 9: you're just meeting somebody for the first time?
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: Work?
- 1:10:53Speaker 9: Yeah, you just do yourself right, like about yourself, things
- 1:10:57Speaker 9: that you know about yourself. You know, we're going to music,
- 1:10:59Speaker 9: you dig, you do the basic stuffy Can this person
- 1:11:02Speaker 9: and I, at least if we had this emotional connection,
- 1:11:05Speaker 9: do the ancillary things that we like in our life hobbies, music, movies,
- 1:11:09Speaker 9: things of that nature, we can kind of blend that again,
- 1:11:12Speaker 9: because I don't know how many couples out there actually
- 1:11:14Speaker 9: really do love the same stuff on TV or same music.
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: My wife and I do not. We do.
- 1:11:19Speaker 9: We have some venn Diagram crossover for sure, but for
- 1:11:22Speaker 9: the most part, she likes a totally different kind of
- 1:11:24Speaker 9: music than I do. But we do have some that
- 1:11:26Speaker 9: we find.
- 1:11:27Speaker 8: You know, mutually satisfying.
- 1:11:30Speaker 9: Yeah, yeah, yeah, sure, So I think that when you
- 1:11:32Speaker 9: start looking at dating, you have to find some of
- 1:11:34Speaker 9: those things.
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: This looks at it a different.
- 1:11:36Speaker 9: Way, though, Guys. It's called hot take dating. And the
- 1:11:41Speaker 9: entire idea of hot take dating is you sit down
- 1:11:45Speaker 9: fireball everything that's the most controversials about you right off rip.
- 1:11:50Speaker 9: There's no finding this out five years later.
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: When you got a one year old, right. This is
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: not that. This is you sitting down face to face.
- 1:11:59Speaker 9: Going hey, man, I didn't think jan six was that bad? Yeah,
- 1:12:03Speaker 9: or you know, or is anything like that?
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: Right?
- 1:12:06Speaker 9: You just had this super hot take about things in
- 1:12:08Speaker 9: life that you have strong feelings about, and rather than
- 1:12:12Speaker 9: breaking into them softly over a period of time and
- 1:12:15Speaker 9: having that person acclimate because they like you and they
- 1:12:18Speaker 9: figure they'll they'll figure out how to work with the
- 1:12:20Speaker 9: other stuff.
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: Man, they just get that other stuff out there right
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: off rip. It seems like an awkward way to find out.
- 1:12:26Speaker 12: But you know, I have read before that science says
- 1:12:30Speaker 12: that we bond more over the things that we hate
- 1:12:33Speaker 12: over the things that.
- 1:12:34Speaker 8: We find mutually enjoyable.
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: Wow.
- 1:12:38Speaker 12: So like if you have that coworker that you both hate,
- 1:12:40Speaker 12: you'll bond more over you know, oh, really complaining about
- 1:12:44Speaker 12: that coworker.
- 1:12:45Speaker 8: Then, did you see the final episode of land Man.
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: I've not heard that before. That's very interesting.
- 1:12:50Speaker 12: So that makes the hot take thing that kind of Yeah, yeah,
- 1:12:53Speaker 12: you can see it's complete total.
- 1:12:55Speaker 8: You know, you're you're being transparent.
- 1:12:57Speaker 9: Yeah, it's at twenty twenty six, coming in hot with
- 1:12:59Speaker 9: the new dating trend.
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: It's called hot take dating.
- 1:13:02Speaker 9: According to Tender's year in Swipe twenty twenty five that
- 1:13:07Speaker 9: it's already starting to take over the dating scene and
- 1:13:10Speaker 9: it is a doozy. They're saying, you know that typical
- 1:13:13Speaker 9: advice of avoiding touchy topics like politics, religion with someone
- 1:13:16Speaker 9: you just met, especially on the first date. Hot take
- 1:13:20Speaker 9: dating throws all of that out, is come in hot,
- 1:13:23Speaker 9: what do you believe? Where are you at with religion?
- 1:13:25Speaker 9: Where are you at with politics? Where are you at
- 1:13:27Speaker 9: with all these controversial takes?
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: You know? Where are you with the environment? Kind of music?
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: Do you listen to? Why?
- 1:13:33Speaker 9: All of those things right up front? But they say
- 1:13:36Speaker 9: the number one thing is like the tact involved with
- 1:13:39Speaker 9: sharing your most deep and darken You know, I sayd
- 1:13:42Speaker 9: I shtuldn't even say deep and dark, but your most
- 1:13:44Speaker 9: personal feelings because I know I mean I don't know
- 1:13:47Speaker 9: about you guys, but I mean, you know, for a
- 1:13:49Speaker 9: long time, you're like, you're wondering, how is your partner
- 1:13:51Speaker 9: going to, you know, think about how you feel about
- 1:13:54Speaker 9: a certain religion or religion, or how how are they
- 1:13:56Speaker 9: going to feel about the way you feel about, you know,
- 1:13:58Speaker 9: any of the things going on politic immigration or abortion
- 1:14:02Speaker 9: or you know, taxing or any of these things.
- 1:14:05Speaker 12: You know, especially because you know, Chris is a Republican, right,
- 1:14:10Speaker 12: and I'm NPA.
- 1:14:11Speaker 9: Right, you know, And and again I am a Republican,
- 1:14:15Speaker 9: but I'm probably I'm more of a McCain Reagan Publican Republican,
- 1:14:17Speaker 9: and my wife is not. She's more of a she's
- 1:14:19Speaker 9: more of a Now Republican. So even you know, even
- 1:14:22Speaker 9: within the context of having the same political party, there
- 1:14:25Speaker 9: are rubs.
- 1:14:26Speaker 12: Oh yeah, someone texted us at seven seven zero three one,
- 1:14:30Speaker 12: and this is not fair. They break the ice by
- 1:14:33Speaker 12: asking her how many cats she has.
- 1:14:34Speaker 9: Oh man, that's a great question, though, that's a great question.
- 1:14:38Speaker 9: That's an immediate tell because it's it's not a totally
- 1:14:42Speaker 9: flawed strategy. Dating and relationship experts say, but if not
- 1:14:46Speaker 9: done tactfully, hot take dating could land you in hot
- 1:14:49Speaker 9: water could also accidentally repel people who otherwise may have
- 1:14:52Speaker 9: been a good match for you, right, Like all that
- 1:14:54Speaker 9: other stuff could work out, and then you come in
- 1:14:56Speaker 9: hot with these takes and they're like, I don't know
- 1:14:58Speaker 9: if I can get over that type thing other than
- 1:15:00Speaker 9: getting into a relationship, and like saying, here's why I
- 1:15:05Speaker 9: feel this way about this, because maybe it's a past
- 1:15:07Speaker 9: situation that I'm not going to have time to tell
- 1:15:10Speaker 9: them about in a dating scenario, like you know, in
- 1:15:13Speaker 9: a in a set dating scenario.
- 1:15:14Speaker 7: I think when you come in hot, you the other
- 1:15:17Speaker 7: person makes a snap judgment in that moment, as opposed
- 1:15:21Speaker 7: to it's like putting your hand in the boiling water
- 1:15:23Speaker 7: then just turning up the water and it gets you know,
- 1:15:27Speaker 7: it builds to the simmer. The when you know a
- 1:15:31Speaker 7: person and you see their thought process, I think you
- 1:15:35Speaker 7: have a better chance of having a longer relationship than
- 1:15:38Speaker 7: coming in hot.
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: It's like, wow, you're an idiot.
- 1:15:40Speaker 12: Yeah, well, I mean plus, if you come in hot,
- 1:15:43Speaker 12: then you automatically put that other person on the other
- 1:15:46Speaker 12: side of the table in a defensible position where they
- 1:15:49Speaker 12: feel they have to defend their belief systems. And that's
- 1:15:51Speaker 12: just nowhere to start when you're coming in it's my
- 1:15:54Speaker 12: way or the hells.
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: We should have to defend your belief system. You shouldn't
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: really have to do that. I don't guess.
- 1:15:58Speaker 7: But is this a premise of a new dating show
- 1:16:02Speaker 7: or is this just a theory on dating and gen No.
- 1:16:05Speaker 9: It's a rolled out this is what we're doing hot
- 1:16:08Speaker 9: take dating kind of thing.
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: I don't know if it's an app yet or anything.
- 1:16:11Speaker 9: It says that this expert says the first by the way,
- 1:16:15Speaker 9: when they talk about things that you need to share
- 1:16:17Speaker 9: is it's the political climate. Data shows that politics is
- 1:16:20Speaker 9: the forefront of dater's minds right now, according to the
- 1:16:23Speaker 9: Tender Year in Swipe twenty twenty five report.
- 1:16:26Speaker 8: I still can't believe we have that.
- 1:16:27Speaker 9: What percentage of people say that they're unwilling to date
- 1:16:31Speaker 9: someone with opposing political views?
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: Sixty five?
- 1:16:35Speaker 8: I was gonna slow, Yeah, I'll go seventy.
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: Really, it's only forty one percent. Really?
- 1:16:39Speaker 9: Yeah, so a little short of half of the people
- 1:16:42Speaker 9: who date say that they would not consider dating somebody
- 1:16:45Speaker 9: because they did not look at politics the way they
- 1:16:47Speaker 9: looked at them.
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: Yeah, what a shallow way to date.
- 1:16:50Speaker 9: You could miss a you could miss a partner in
- 1:16:52Speaker 9: your life that could change your entire existence. But you're
- 1:16:54Speaker 9: not going to even and introduce yourself because they don't
- 1:16:58Speaker 9: vote the way you do, or seems that seems.
- 1:17:00Speaker 7: Blunt, or if you go down to I mean, you
- 1:17:03Speaker 7: talk about hot take dating, if your core beliefs are
- 1:17:06Speaker 7: I believe this approach is actually mean spirited and basically evil.
- 1:17:12Speaker 7: And why would I want anyone who subscribes to that
- 1:17:14Speaker 7: as a way to treat other human beings. I believe
- 1:17:17Speaker 7: you that's that's a boundary I have, and I have
- 1:17:20Speaker 7: no need for you in my life.
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, I mean, and that could happen.
- 1:17:23Speaker 8: But the cool thing here, there's always batteries.
- 1:17:25Speaker 9: Well, let me right, but let me tell you why
- 1:17:27Speaker 9: I think this is interesting, Jake. They actually mentioned that
- 1:17:29Speaker 9: very thing in the idea of the story, like the
- 1:17:31Speaker 9: whole idea of coming in hot, and it's kind of
- 1:17:33Speaker 9: setting people off. I would much rather have that than
- 1:17:38Speaker 9: spend a year and a half falling for somebody and
- 1:17:41Speaker 9: then at the end of the year and a half
- 1:17:43Speaker 9: we have a couple of drinks and like, hey, I'll
- 1:17:45Speaker 9: retire you on that one thing and then tell you
- 1:17:47Speaker 9: something You're like the changes your entire outlook of how
- 1:17:50Speaker 9: you view this person. Like, I would much rather have
- 1:17:53Speaker 9: that happen on day one. Just just get it to
- 1:17:56Speaker 9: me right now.
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: Hey, honey, I was digging under the seat of the
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: car and I found this.
- 1:18:01Speaker 9: But you know, it could be something else. It could
- 1:18:03Speaker 9: be something in the person's past. Maybe they dated a bunch,
- 1:18:06Speaker 9: maybe they had you know, maybe they were taken advantage
- 1:18:10Speaker 9: of as a kid when they were younger, and there's
- 1:18:12Speaker 9: some stuff there that they that is something they need
- 1:18:15Speaker 9: to share because that could affect their personality long term,
- 1:18:18Speaker 9: and that person needs to understand that they deal with
- 1:18:20Speaker 9: things emotionally. Maybe that other person doesn't.
- 1:18:23Speaker 8: I'd be surprised if that came out in a first date.
- 1:18:25Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean again I would as well. Yeah, but
- 1:18:28Speaker 9: in the idea of hot take dating, you're trying to
- 1:18:30Speaker 9: share all these things that could create speed bumps down
- 1:18:32Speaker 9: the road, getting that right out in the open so
- 1:18:35Speaker 9: people can make a decision before they move further or
- 1:18:37Speaker 9: further or whatever.
- 1:18:39Speaker 12: Which is interesting though, because here's here's the caveat you're gonna.
- 1:18:43Speaker 8: Have speed bumps.
- 1:18:45Speaker 12: Yeah, you're right, Yeah, I mean, some of these things
- 1:18:47Speaker 12: are the big chunks that you can iron out in
- 1:18:49Speaker 12: the beginning. But if speed bumps is what's going to
- 1:18:52Speaker 12: keep you from, you know, continuing on, then I don't know. Yeah,
- 1:18:56Speaker 12: because it's never going to be smooth sailing. Even if
- 1:18:59Speaker 12: you think you found the exact right person for you,
- 1:19:02Speaker 12: you're still going to have speed bumps.
- 1:19:03Speaker 9: He said here that the trend is also emerged because
- 1:19:06Speaker 9: of social media, which encourages people to have a hot
- 1:19:08Speaker 9: take about pretty much anything and everything to gain attention
- 1:19:11Speaker 9: and followers. That attitude has bled over into dating apps.
- 1:19:15Speaker 9: She says as well, So you know you're going on
- 1:19:17Speaker 9: your grinders, and you're going on your what are the
- 1:19:19Speaker 9: other ones?
- 1:19:20Speaker 12: I don't know if you'd go on grinder if you're
- 1:19:21Speaker 12: looking for like a long term relationship.
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: But is that not? Oh that's the gay one.
- 1:19:28Speaker 9: I'm sorry, I know it is a gay one.
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: Rewind. Why would I say that out loud? What would
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: I say? Grinder?
- 1:19:42Speaker 8: And it was the first one that came to your mind?
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: I mean, Christian Mingle.
- 1:19:49Speaker 10: Still the common sense financial advice you need?
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: It's only money.
- 1:19:57Speaker 10: With Scott Brown today at six twenty on The Jim
- 1:19:59Speaker 10: Colbert Show.
- 1:20:01Speaker 18: Hey, o'hannah, how's it going today? I just want to share.
- 1:20:06Speaker 18: I feel like the most fortunate man in the world
- 1:20:09Speaker 18: to have married my beautiful wife. We naturally get along,
- 1:20:13Speaker 18: have never raised their voices at one another in sixteen years,
- 1:20:18Speaker 18: no arguments whatsoever. There's no R next to her name,
- 1:20:22Speaker 18: and I'm not maga, but we have opposing political views
- 1:20:26Speaker 18: and I love the differences between us at Marrier every day.
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: Aloha so sweet. Thanks brough Up.
- 1:20:32Speaker 14: Hey there, we're in the topic of online dating and
- 1:20:36Speaker 14: dating in general. Just want to let you know I
- 1:20:39Speaker 14: met my wife on ok Cupid, So yeah, stuff like
- 1:20:43Speaker 14: that actually works.
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: Right on, man.
- 1:20:45Speaker 6: So, my wife voted for Donald J. Trump on the
- 1:20:48Speaker 6: first election and I did not, but I didn't know
- 1:20:53Speaker 6: that on her hinge profile. We didn't talk about that
- 1:20:55Speaker 6: till we almost got dang near till we got married
- 1:20:59Speaker 6: that I knew she voted that way the first time.
- 1:21:02Speaker 6: Had I known that, maybe I wouldn't have swept right.
- 1:21:05Speaker 6: But now we're both in alignment. But yeah, it was definitely.
- 1:21:09Speaker 6: It's definitely a thing.
- 1:21:12Speaker 4: Oh yeah, so a day in the life of Jimmy
- 1:21:15Speaker 4: pulls out his phone that he got stopped through his
- 1:21:18Speaker 4: Hulu mobile eye.
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: You shut your mouth.
- 1:21:21Speaker 4: The disrespect, isn't he and the disrespect went to his
- 1:21:26Speaker 4: favorites and pulled up Grinder and then second in line,
- 1:21:31Speaker 4: Christian mingle, it's a joke.
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: Not almighty. Can't a guy go to a gay app occasionally?
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: I just want to see Alba measure up.
- 1:21:46Speaker 8: I have a soda can somewhere around here.
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: More like a mini red Bull.
- 1:21:53Speaker 9: Single serving, more of a single serving red Bull kind
- 1:21:56Speaker 9: of thing. Standard is uy guy kind of thing?
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: All right?
- 1:21:59Speaker 9: Uh, you're finally like word, by the way is check
- 1:22:00Speaker 9: CG c K. Go to real radio dot. I feminsen
- 1:22:03Speaker 9: that away for your chance out a thousand bucks. That's
- 1:22:06Speaker 9: check guys. That is you're five like keywords as if
- 1:22:10Speaker 9: you check your Grinder account.
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: Oh you have an account there? Now, I don't. Nobody
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: has a Grinder account. Get out of here. There's no
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: E in it. It's weird spelled it wrong in the
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: first sixteen times I try to put it in there
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: like it's not going through.
- 1:22:30Speaker 9: All right, welcome back up, Jim, there's dead Hello Jack
- 1:22:33Speaker 9: is her as well?
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: Do you have a smart speaker? I know you do.
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: We have a number of them.
- 1:22:38Speaker 7: Yeah, I was gonna. I'm not sure if you use them.
- 1:22:40Speaker 7: I got you one at Christmas one year. That means
- 1:22:42Speaker 7: it's probably still in the boxer. It's been regifted to
- 1:22:44Speaker 7: one of your children.
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: We used that one in the bathroom, the video one. No,
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: I gave you a video one, remember, Yeah, yeah, dude,
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: I'm telling you we use it. We have to the house.
- 1:22:52Speaker 9: We have We have one in the bedroom, we have
- 1:22:54Speaker 9: one in the kitchen, we have one in the bathroom.
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: So we've got a number of them throughout the house.
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: Six seven years to find a gift to us. Is
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: that not?
- 1:23:00Speaker 7: However, have you noticed something over the past couple of days.
- 1:23:04Speaker 7: I haven't with specifically Amazon Alexa.
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: Oh no, I haven't, but it's kind of weird.
- 1:23:09Speaker 9: I was folding at people must think I only fold clothes,
- 1:23:13Speaker 9: But I was folding some clothes the other day and
- 1:23:16Speaker 9: I just said, you know, yeah, I said the hey
- 1:23:18Speaker 9: Google thing, and then I said play the tool.
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: So I was listening to something.
- 1:23:24Speaker 9: But the one thing I did realize is they played
- 1:23:26Speaker 9: a bunch of live stuff first, and I had to
- 1:23:27Speaker 9: like fast forward through the songs, get to a good song,
- 1:23:29Speaker 9: or get to a song you know that I knew
- 1:23:31Speaker 9: really well.
- 1:23:32Speaker 7: So, hey, Google is the competitor with Amazon, right, So
- 1:23:36Speaker 7: that's one brand, and you have your Hey Google speaker,
- 1:23:39Speaker 7: and I hope I'm not triggering everyone's speaker who has
- 1:23:41Speaker 7: one right now. But then with Amazon and Alexa, they've
- 1:23:46Speaker 7: upgraded the interface and the aiyah and so now they
- 1:23:51Speaker 7: have various voices and it's more conversational now, really, yes,
- 1:23:56Speaker 7: where it used to just report yes the weather and say, oh,
- 1:24:00Speaker 7: the weather's going to be lovely, and it's more conversation
- 1:24:03Speaker 7: and like, it took me back the first time it happened.
- 1:24:06Speaker 7: Then then they say, oh, by the way, you might
- 1:24:08Speaker 7: have noticed a new upgrade, and you know, it's my
- 1:24:10Speaker 7: new voice. And then we started challenging my daughter's like
- 1:24:14Speaker 7: started asking her questions and carrying on conversations. It's definitely
- 1:24:21Speaker 7: they are leaning into upgrades in AI technology from where
- 1:24:25Speaker 7: they used to be because it is artificial intelligence. Yes
- 1:24:28Speaker 7: we've put in our homes for years, but they definitely
- 1:24:31Speaker 7: have taken a level up in how interactive they are.
- 1:24:34Speaker 9: You know, or I noticed that more than any not
- 1:24:36Speaker 9: on my not on that yet because I don't use
- 1:24:38Speaker 9: it enough. But where I have noticed it is in
- 1:24:40Speaker 9: spam email. The spam email that I get now is
- 1:24:45Speaker 9: more clever when it comes to the verbiage they try
- 1:24:49Speaker 9: to use to get you to open it. In other words, uh, hey, Jimbo,
- 1:24:54Speaker 9: you remember this from last week? Oh yeah, and you
- 1:24:56Speaker 9: don't remember, like you because we get so many emails,
- 1:25:00Speaker 9: so many corresponds about everything that it just slides in there.
- 1:25:03Speaker 9: But they've they've learned how to write these email, these
- 1:25:06Speaker 9: spam email where it seems like an email from somebody
- 1:25:09Speaker 9: that you know, because it uses this different vernacular to
- 1:25:13Speaker 9: get your attention, because it seems considerably more human.
- 1:25:16Speaker 12: I got one of those recently that said following up
- 1:25:18Speaker 12: on this from last week, and I was like, delete,
- 1:25:21Speaker 12: but Jack to your point. Have you noticed the commercials
- 1:25:24Speaker 12: where the person will say to an AI chat, but
- 1:25:28Speaker 12: I'm forgetting the name right now, talk me out of
- 1:25:30Speaker 12: skipping my workout right?
- 1:25:32Speaker 16: Yeah?
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:25:33Speaker 8: And then the app.
- 1:25:34Speaker 12: Says, you know you always feel better when you when
- 1:25:37Speaker 12: you when you're done, Yeah, you know, you just got
- 1:25:39Speaker 12: to give it ten to fifteen minutes.
- 1:25:41Speaker 8: I was like, that used to be a friend, right.
- 1:25:44Speaker 7: Oh by all means yeah, they definitely have that. You
- 1:25:49Speaker 7: can see it easily happening. My daughter shared with me
- 1:25:53Speaker 7: some of the text conversations she has where she'll like
- 1:25:56Speaker 7: what she's thinking. She puts ideas like about you know,
- 1:26:00Speaker 7: friends and relationships, and they and some of the advice
- 1:26:04Speaker 7: it's like, well I would have said that, yeah, and
- 1:26:06Speaker 7: some of them like, damn, that was good.
- 1:26:07Speaker 9: It should I mean, they're pulling it from every single
- 1:26:10Speaker 9: study a human being is ever done on the psychology
- 1:26:14Speaker 9: between communication and people.
- 1:26:15Speaker 7: But as we know, there are misses as well when
- 1:26:18Speaker 7: it comes to especially impressionable young people who can be
- 1:26:23Speaker 7: led astray.
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: Or perceive the information differently.
- 1:26:26Speaker 7: And that's a huge one because they the comprehension. If
- 1:26:30Speaker 7: they want to keep hearing what they want, they rephrase
- 1:26:32Speaker 7: it until they get back what they want. And if
- 1:26:35Speaker 7: the AI is adapting itself to you and trying to
- 1:26:38Speaker 7: please you, uh huh, then it's going to find ways
- 1:26:41Speaker 7: to do just that.
- 1:26:42Speaker 9: We settle sex bets, Yeah, you guys do, Deborah, Yes,
- 1:26:50Speaker 9: don't bring it up again. It was a complete mistake
- 1:26:53Speaker 9: on my part, is the first one I could think of.
- 1:26:56Speaker 9: And Matt has not text me back.
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: All right, sex bets.
- 1:27:03Speaker 9: If you're in bed and we're and we're having a
- 1:27:06Speaker 9: disagreement about something, and you know, not a relationship disagreement,
- 1:27:09Speaker 9: just something on like on some fact, I believe this
- 1:27:12Speaker 9: happens here. You're like, no, I don't think that happens here.
- 1:27:14Speaker 9: I read that it happens here. Columbus never said foot
- 1:27:16Speaker 9: mr right exactly, something like that.
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:27:18Speaker 9: We'll always go sex bet and she's like, well, what
- 1:27:22Speaker 9: do you pursue?
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: You know what's going on?
- 1:27:25Speaker 9: And then I'll then I'll then yeah, then I'll be like, well,
- 1:27:29Speaker 9: we're sex beting this, and she'll be like, I don't
- 1:27:31Speaker 9: know about that for this one. I mean, because the
- 1:27:34Speaker 9: same I think everybody's sex bets, but the sex bet
- 1:27:37Speaker 9: thing is, like, you know, it's depending on how severe
- 1:27:41Speaker 9: the disagreement is. If this is a game breaking disagreement
- 1:27:45Speaker 9: and I say sex bet and she looks over at me,
- 1:27:47Speaker 9: I'm like, yeah, it's gonna be that. Yeah, because this
- 1:27:51Speaker 9: is a really big disagreement. You think you're really right,
- 1:27:53Speaker 9: So are you willing to roll the nice on that?
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: You know what? You know what that is? Right?
- 1:27:58Speaker 8: Such an interesting relationship.
- 1:28:00Speaker 9: And then she'll be like, Okay, no sex bet, let's
- 1:28:02Speaker 9: find out. And then we're like, hey, we have Hey,
- 1:28:04Speaker 9: Google tell me if that is the case, and then
- 1:28:07Speaker 9: Google says, you know, we don't tell it's a sex bet.
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: I wonder what it would do if settle the sex
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: bet for us.
- 1:28:12Speaker 8: It's already recorded it and send it to headquarters. Don't
- 1:28:14Speaker 8: worry about it.
- 1:28:15Speaker 7: And to that point, because it is more conversational and
- 1:28:19Speaker 7: it does listen longer, as this texer points out, they write,
- 1:28:23Speaker 7: they also listen for commands longer. They asked for a
- 1:28:26Speaker 7: definition of something for his daughter. It was I think
- 1:28:30Speaker 7: it's like a life lesson definition thing, and so the
- 1:28:33Speaker 7: person gave their daughter the example of it, and Alexa
- 1:28:36Speaker 7: chimes in saying, yes, that's a great example of that,
- 1:28:40Speaker 7: you know. And this was like a full minute after.
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: They were done. Oh wow. Yeah.
- 1:28:44Speaker 7: My daughter asked it about a car she was looking at.
- 1:28:47Speaker 7: And then then last night she said, hey, I bought
- 1:28:50Speaker 7: a car. She's like, was it you know this one?
- 1:28:52Speaker 7: And it remembered, Yeah, it remembered. The first thing that
- 1:28:54Speaker 7: blew my mind.
- 1:28:55Speaker 8: Is like, I said that used to be a friend.
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:28:58Speaker 7: We were both kind of hammering it with questions when
- 1:29:01Speaker 7: this new voice popped up and she's like, well that's right, Jack,
- 1:29:05Speaker 7: and I'm like, oh, she knows me. Yeah, she knew
- 1:29:08Speaker 7: it with me, and now she knows my daughter's voice
- 1:29:10Speaker 7: as well. So she will refer to you by name.
- 1:29:14Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, I'd be like, Okay, I was.
- 1:29:16Speaker 9: Hammering Lance with the comments on grinder the other night.
- 1:29:19Speaker 9: I bet you were hammering Lance.
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: I bet you were. He was lancing Jim. Get out
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: of here, Jack, something dirty. Save the license. They call
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: it grind her for a reason. Save the license. Oh yeah, bets? Jack?
- 1:29:36Speaker 8: Do you do sex bets?
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: Uh? Yeah?
- 1:29:39Speaker 14: Yeah?
- 1:29:39Speaker 15: Sure?
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: Well yeah, or sex negotiations? Whatever?
- 1:29:43Speaker 9: Right?
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: Yeah, you know it is everyone wins. She's like, if
- 1:29:48Speaker 1: you build those towels, I'll do this. I'm like, I
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: like volding towels. Let's go.
- 1:29:53Speaker 9: You do you do you negotiate like that?
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: You guys do sex negotiations at your place? Do you? Not?
- 1:30:01Speaker 8: Very often?
- 1:30:01Speaker 1: No?
- 1:30:01Speaker 8: No?
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: What's it going to take? Seriously, what's the take to
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: get into a sex bet with you? Guys? With you
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: and Chris?
- 1:30:09Speaker 9: Tell me, like, for the three of you out here, Jack,
- 1:30:13Speaker 9: you're such a disgusting bastard.
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: They don't talk about that. I don't grind her, how
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: do you know? Well? Not with you involved?
- 1:30:23Speaker 8: Sure, that would just be a you and Jackson area.
- 1:30:26Speaker 9: You do not have the baggage and it'll beard if
- 1:30:30Speaker 9: you feel me.
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: Don't feel me here right.
- 1:30:33Speaker 12: This is interesting though, because I recently heard this story
- 1:30:35Speaker 12: about a Reddit argument of a man whose wife would
- 1:30:39Speaker 12: make comments about his pudgy middle when they were getting intimate.
- 1:30:48Speaker 12: He had told her that, you know, that really hurts
- 1:30:52Speaker 12: my feelings when.
- 1:30:53Speaker 8: You do that.
- 1:30:53Speaker 12: I wish I wish you wouldn't do that, and then
- 1:30:55Speaker 12: he kind of teased her back a little bit.
- 1:30:57Speaker 8: And of course you know how well that one.
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: Oh yeah, you cannot mention a food pa.
- 1:31:01Speaker 12: So the question is, I mean, do you guys, would
- 1:31:04Speaker 12: that hurt your feelings or as long as you're getting you.
- 1:31:07Speaker 9: No, no, no, yeah, I would not be cool with that.
- 1:31:09Speaker 9: I would not be cool if my wife went, you
- 1:31:11Speaker 9: know what's funny I love? Yeah, it is when you're tumming,
- 1:31:14Speaker 9: he hits me before anything else. You know, No, man,
- 1:31:21Speaker 9: that's all what you want.
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: You don't want that. No one, no, no man wants that.
- 1:31:27Speaker 9: No man wants to be told any part of them
- 1:31:30Speaker 9: hits them before the part. You know, you don't want
- 1:31:35Speaker 9: to hear this, like I can feel it on my back.
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: You don't want you don't want that. Nobody wants that.
- 1:31:44Speaker 8: I agreed one person who was talking.
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: That's why we don't have full length mirror.
- 1:31:49Speaker 12: Was saying, Hey, as long as I'm giving my husband sex,
- 1:31:51Speaker 12: he could care what I call him. And I was thinking, Yeah,
- 1:31:54Speaker 12: for the majority of people, men or women, especially when
- 1:31:58Speaker 12: you're being against meid, you're already your most vulnerable.
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: Yeah, sure, that's not when you want.
- 1:32:03Speaker 12: Them to grab a handful and go oh look it
- 1:32:05Speaker 12: shakes like a bowlful of shallow right.
- 1:32:07Speaker 9: Yeah, I don't want my wife to look at me
- 1:32:08Speaker 9: and go, hey, can I slap your fudgies?
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: Come back there? We no when you get me where
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: you Where are your fudgies located? Right here?
- 1:32:22Speaker 12: You know what?
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: Are? Men have boobs too?
- 1:32:25Speaker 9: And sometimes if you eat a little to me hamburgers,
- 1:32:29Speaker 9: these things are fudging up. And if your wifele attaching goes,
- 1:32:33Speaker 9: I want to slap your fudgies.
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: That's bad. You don't want to do that. That is
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: not sexy. Nobody is like.
- 1:32:39Speaker 9: Nobody's like, oh baby, let me slap them fudgies, And
- 1:32:41Speaker 9: you're like, Nope, that's it.
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: Well, we do have a show title. Find Can you
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: find that flag and half staff? If you feel me?
- 1:32:53Speaker 8: That's what I thought.
- 1:32:54Speaker 12: I thought, Yeah, that that definitely wouldn't be the case.
- 1:32:57Speaker 12: Both men and women would be embarrassed and sensitive a that.
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: Yeah, no, man, it sucks. It sucks. If you're having
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: sexually your wife and she's closing her eyes.
- 1:33:05Speaker 9: I got bad news for you, dude, And it ain't
- 1:33:08Speaker 9: you she's thinking about.
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: It's kin from sales, who is fudgy less.
- 1:33:20Speaker 8: Well, you can take that into your next sex.
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: Bet, right right, nice, I appreciate it.
- 1:33:24Speaker 8: Maybe you can up the anti sex bets.
- 1:33:26Speaker 9: Everybody does sex bets, no, no question. People out there
- 1:33:30Speaker 9: and relationships have been around longer than and you've gotten
- 1:33:33Speaker 9: past all that, all the all the the stuff that
- 1:33:36Speaker 9: you get passed in that first three or four years
- 1:33:38Speaker 9: you start learning about each other man when you're ten years,
- 1:33:40Speaker 9: fifteen years and one of these things and there's a
- 1:33:43Speaker 9: communication level that gets real blunt, and you stop, you
- 1:33:47Speaker 9: stop pussy footing around, and you're just like, this is
- 1:33:50Speaker 9: what's gonna have to happen tonight.
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: If you want that thing fixed? Oh you like that?
- 1:33:54Speaker 9: You don't like that sprinkler spewing out of that water
- 1:33:56Speaker 9: like a good news for you. There's one thing I'll
- 1:34:00Speaker 9: show you. That sprinkle will be dry.
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: In no time.
- 1:34:03Speaker 8: Don't say that. I said sprinkle, you said dry in
- 1:34:06Speaker 8: no time?
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: All right?
- 1:34:07Speaker 9: For our seven six one o four one. You can
- 1:34:10Speaker 9: always text us how we get on.
- 1:34:11Speaker 12: This boy, you know how to make a girl happy.
- 1:34:14Speaker 8: I'll have you dry in no time.
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: Tick. The is all. That's what happened.
- 1:34:16Speaker 7: I just asked you about smart speakers.
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: Then you went to six bence and then we went
- 1:34:24Speaker 1: to slapping fudgies.
- 1:34:26Speaker 9: What you're talking about the budget at the tired thing?
- 1:34:28Speaker 9: Nobody wants that.
- 1:34:30Speaker 1: What would be the most We all got it, don't we? Yeah,
- 1:34:32Speaker 1: but what would be the most sensitive thing? You could say?
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: You would wait, would be the only one?
- 1:34:38Speaker 8: Absolutely? Absolutely yeah?
- 1:34:41Speaker 12: And like you were saying, you know, there's one thing
- 1:34:44Speaker 12: you do realize when you get ten, fifteen, twenty years
- 1:34:47Speaker 12: in that I mean, it's not going to be the
- 1:34:51Speaker 12: same as it was in your twenties.
- 1:34:52Speaker 9: And it is subjective though I have to tell you
- 1:34:54Speaker 9: it's from my thirties. Yeah, it's from person to person
- 1:34:57Speaker 9: because certain things do certain things.
- 1:35:01Speaker 12: Well, oh now he's giggling like a little girl. This
- 1:35:05Speaker 12: is gonna be good.
- 1:35:06Speaker 9: After being you know, I'm with her twenty two years,
- 1:35:09Speaker 9: like we've been married twenty years.
- 1:35:10Speaker 1: I mean you know, things happen. What do you mean
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: by things? Well, I just during intimacy one time, we're like,
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: you know you're in it, you know you're doing the
- 1:35:22Speaker 1: thing right.
- 1:35:24Speaker 9: And then like at the you know the height, jeez,
- 1:35:30Speaker 9: she goes, you got something on your tooth. It turns
- 1:35:40Speaker 9: out on a big piece of cilantro. Come and get
- 1:35:42Speaker 9: one of my tooth, and it looked like somebody punched
- 1:35:46Speaker 9: my face. And she looks up there and she's having
- 1:35:49Speaker 9: sex with little scrabbled fudgy pirate. She's we both start laughing,
- 1:35:57Speaker 9: but of course everything dies at that point. This is
- 1:36:00Speaker 9: like where's your eye patch? And I'm like, I can't
- 1:36:01Speaker 9: even do this now. I know there's gonna be a
- 1:36:04Speaker 9: week before I'm I cannot rebound from this.
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: It's gonna be a week before I come back to life.
- 1:36:10Speaker 9: Just put me in the closet for a while, not

- 1:40:46Speaker 9: not his best man, and there are so many weird
- 1:40:49Speaker 9: relationships in Hollywood. I thought maybe that would fly. He
- 1:40:52Speaker 9: did work as a mover in you Haul for New York. Yes,
- 1:40:57Speaker 9: he does play claire now or he did play clarinet
- 1:40:59Speaker 9: and bassoon in his high school band. And actually I

- 1:41:40Speaker 1: Oh wow.
- 1:41:40Speaker 9: Yeah, now here's what I wanted to ask you guys,
- 1:41:43Speaker 9: because I know nothing about this. He practices the Baja
- 1:41:47Speaker 9: faith or is it Behi.
- 1:41:48Speaker 12: Bahia, but he is what it is, a Hia, that's it, yeah, Bahiah.
- 1:41:53Speaker 9: Yeah, he practices that faith and has for years.
- 1:41:57Speaker 1: It's kind of what does that be.
- 1:41:58Speaker 12: It's kind of there's a city in Brazil called Bahia.
- 1:42:02Speaker 12: It's kind of like the Afro slave religions of the islands. Yeah,
- 1:42:08Speaker 12: kind of like akin to not Santaria, not Santaia because
- 1:42:14Speaker 12: it's not negative like Santoia can be. But yeah, I
- 1:42:17Speaker 12: would call it like a Caribbean religion.
- 1:42:18Speaker 9: Hobby dam Yeah, all right, he's a passionate hobby chess
- 1:42:21Speaker 9: player and his wife's name is Holiday rhine Horn.
- 1:42:26Speaker 1: Of course, Holiday rhine Horn.
- 1:42:29Speaker 8: So did he specifically look for a woman with an
- 1:42:32Speaker 8: interesting name?
- 1:42:33Speaker 1: It takes them.
- 1:42:33Speaker 9: They've been together thirty five years or something. They've been
- 1:42:36Speaker 9: together since like the early nineties. Dude, he's been with
- 1:42:38Speaker 9: his chick fever.
- 1:42:40Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:42:40Speaker 9: The Bahaya faith, I thought it was more of like
- 1:42:43Speaker 9: a rasta thing. That's that's the thing. I thought it
- 1:42:45Speaker 9: would be more parallel.
- 1:42:47Speaker 12: With And I could be pronouncing it incorrectly because it
- 1:42:51Speaker 12: is a modern world religion founded in nineteenth century.
- 1:42:54Speaker 1: Iran hobby damn.
- 1:42:56Speaker 12: Really yeah, emphasizing the unity of God, religion, and humanity,
- 1:43:00Speaker 12: promoting universal education, gender equality, and harmony between science and religion.
- 1:43:05Speaker 1: Nothing about grass.
- 1:43:09Speaker 9: Oh, it almost seems like when I read a little
- 1:43:12Speaker 9: bit about it today, was like almost like humanism with
- 1:43:14Speaker 9: a central point, like you know, you want, just like
- 1:43:17Speaker 9: you know, people to be cohesive and in kind of
- 1:43:21Speaker 9: tune with each other. But there doesn't seem to be
- 1:43:25Speaker 9: a central figure like a you know, a god. Okay, yeah,
- 1:43:30Speaker 9: deity of some sort.
- 1:43:32Speaker 8: It's interesting, but he's been practicating for.
- 1:43:34Speaker 1: A while and seems like a happy guy. I mean,

- 1:45:31Speaker 9: Wilson was in the rob Zombbie movie One Thousand Corpses.
- 1:45:35Speaker 1: I think that's the same one that Paris Hilton was in.
- 1:45:37Speaker 1: Oh wow, House of a Thousand Corpses.
- 1:45:40Speaker 9: He was also You want to know what his film
- 1:45:43Speaker 9: debut was, Jack, I filmed that you and I absolutely
- 1:45:46Speaker 9: love a comedy, one of the most underrated comedies with
- 1:45:49Speaker 9: one of the biggest all star casts.
- 1:45:52Speaker 1: Of all time. Nineteen forty one.
- 1:45:54Speaker 7: No, no, you're closer gazing titles now that these are
- 1:46:00Speaker 7: too old. No, it has to be something more recent.
- 1:46:03Speaker 1: Well space related.
- 1:46:04Speaker 9: That's that's what a Galaxy Quest is the answer. I mean,
- 1:46:10Speaker 9: so many stars in that movie. That was Rain Wilson's
- 1:46:14Speaker 9: film debut. I think it was one of the Aliens
- 1:46:16Speaker 9: or whatever, whatever the case movie. And if you haven't
- 1:46:19Speaker 9: seen Galaxy Quest, Tim Allen, Sigurney Jrny Weaver, Uh, the
- 1:46:26Speaker 9: guy Sam Sam Rockwell yep uh, the guy Tony Shalob
- 1:46:32Speaker 9: Chaloub who was the what was the guy the show
- 1:46:35Speaker 9: is on Forever Monk?
- 1:46:36Speaker 12: He was on Monk. He was also in Men in Black.
- 1:46:39Speaker 12: Oh yeah, you're right, yeah, yeah, he was the guy realized.
- 1:46:41Speaker 12: Galaxy Quest is from nineteen ninety nine.
- 1:46:44Speaker 9: Yeah, it is so good. If you haven't checked it out.
- 1:46:47Speaker 9: Do you know the premise of the movie.
- 1:46:48Speaker 1: I do not.
- 1:46:49Speaker 9: The aliens see TV shows blasted through you know, they
- 1:46:55Speaker 9: can pick that up like as they're flying around there, right,
- 1:46:57Speaker 9: and they're they're like human esque aliens.
- 1:46:59Speaker 1: It's not like kind of lizard or anything like that, right.
- 1:47:01Speaker 9: And uh, they are being threatened by another alien group,
- 1:47:07Speaker 9: and they all since they saw this TV show from
- 1:47:11Speaker 9: America of.
- 1:47:12Speaker 7: These Galaxy quests and it's similar to Star Trek.
- 1:47:15Speaker 9: Right, And so they think that that show is real
- 1:47:18Speaker 9: and that those people can save them from the other
- 1:47:21Speaker 9: aliens that want to kill them.
- 1:47:22Speaker 7: So they come to Earth during a convention and where
- 1:47:25Speaker 7: they kind of kidnap them to help them.
- 1:47:30Speaker 1: So they find themselves in really in space, like.
- 1:47:33Speaker 9: It's really defending against other like a and it's it's
- 1:47:37Speaker 9: really good and maybe the best that Sigourney Weaver has
- 1:47:40Speaker 9: ever looked on film. There's a movie she did called
- 1:47:43Speaker 9: Heartbreakers with Gene Hackman and Jennifer love Hewett. I believe
- 1:47:48Speaker 9: she looks really good that movie. But man, she looks
- 1:47:50Speaker 9: really good in Galaxy question.
- 1:47:52Speaker 7: Oh, Alan Rickman, it was great.
- 1:47:56Speaker 9: Dude, that was I mean, I'm telling you that movie
- 1:47:58Speaker 9: was absolutely Stacked with stars.
- 1:48:00Speaker 1: Yeh, so good because in the face of it, you're like,
- 1:48:02Speaker 1: what fish but you But it's such a good movie.
- 1:48:06Speaker 9: It really is start solid, you know. So this morning
- 1:48:10Speaker 9: I'm reading around, and you know, I think this guy
- 1:48:14Speaker 9: covers pretty much everywhere in the central Florida area. I
- 1:48:16Speaker 9: think basically all the news stations here in town probably
- 1:48:20Speaker 9: have the same reach as our radio station.
- 1:48:22Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:48:22Speaker 9: Imagine people on the coast over there can watch Channel two,
- 1:48:24Speaker 9: Channel six and Channel nine and Fox thirty five if
- 1:48:26Speaker 9: they want to, Right. So I read this morning that
- 1:48:30Speaker 9: justin Mormouth, I think of Channel nine, Channel.
- 1:48:34Speaker 1: Six, Channel six is dad is Channel nine is Channel.
- 1:48:37Speaker 9: Nine is leaving the business, leaving the TV business and
- 1:48:40Speaker 9: the news business, and he's going on to something else.
- 1:48:44Speaker 9: So I happen to know his dad. I don't know
- 1:48:46Speaker 9: Justin all that well. I've met him a number of times.
- 1:48:48Speaker 9: I mean, you couldn't like one of the greatest kids,
- 1:48:51Speaker 9: like just an absolute great guy, right, And I've known
- 1:48:55Speaker 9: Greg for a while. So I text Greg Greg this morning,
- 1:48:57Speaker 9: his dad, Greg Warmouth from Channel nine. I said, today, Man,
- 1:49:00Speaker 9: you know, what's the chances this is actually what's up
- 1:49:02Speaker 9: with your son?
- 1:49:03Speaker 1: The quittor. This is actually I text him.
- 1:49:06Speaker 9: I said, Hey, I'm going to be that guy that
- 1:49:09Speaker 9: never text you ever, but now I'm texting you for
- 1:49:11Speaker 9: a favor, right, So I asked him to give me
- 1:49:14Speaker 9: Justin's number and stuff so we could get ahold of
- 1:49:16Speaker 9: him and find out what he's leaving for and and
- 1:49:18Speaker 9: all this stuff.
- 1:49:18Speaker 1: He's been there like twelve years.
- 1:49:20Speaker 9: I think he basically when he went there right out
- 1:49:21Speaker 9: of college, and he's been doing and he's great at it,
- 1:49:24Speaker 9: you know, good young man. So hopefully we'll have some
- 1:49:27Speaker 9: information about Justin Mormoth and where he's going, maybe an
- 1:49:29Speaker 9: interview with him a little bit later this week.
- 1:49:30Speaker 1: I think it'd be cool. Yeah, it would yeah.
- 1:49:32Speaker 9: I mean his family, that family's been on television in
- 1:49:34Speaker 9: town forever. I mean Greg's been on the air since
- 1:49:37Speaker 9: what the nineteen eighties Yeah, yeah, definitely the eighties. And
- 1:49:41Speaker 9: his boy's been there for twelve years now, so it's
- 1:49:43Speaker 9: like a family legacy of year it is. I think
- 1:49:45Speaker 9: his other son is a was a professional baseball player. Yeah,
- 1:49:48Speaker 9: so pretty cool family there. So we'll hopefully have Justin
- 1:49:51Speaker 9: Warmouth on a little bit later this week. Four oh
- 1:49:54Speaker 9: seven nine one six one oh four to one text
- 1:49:56Speaker 9: US at seven seven zero three one. I said this
- 1:50:02Speaker 9: thing about Florida invalidating some driver's license.
- 1:50:04Speaker 1: Have you seen this?
- 1:50:05Speaker 3: Wow?
- 1:50:06Speaker 9: It says, it says, and it's weird because I didn't
- 1:50:10Speaker 9: even know this can happen. This is a Channel six story,
- 1:50:13Speaker 9: click Orlando dot Com. I'm going to check this out.
- 1:50:15Speaker 9: State Bill seventeen eighteen went into effect back in twenty
- 1:50:19Speaker 9: twenty three. I had no idea this was even going on.
- 1:50:22Speaker 9: But with this recent crackdown on illegal immigration in Florida,
- 1:50:27Speaker 9: it's a good reminder that some out of state driver's
- 1:50:29Speaker 9: license are no longer legal in the state of Florida.
- 1:50:31Speaker 1: Did you guys know that?
- 1:50:32Speaker 9: No, no clue that if you drove here from another state,
- 1:50:36Speaker 9: and US being the tourist capital of the planet Earth.
- 1:50:40Speaker 1: I thought every state was good. In every other state, it.
- 1:50:43Speaker 9: Says same here. That's because a twenty twenty three state
- 1:50:47Speaker 9: law which prohibits the issuance of driver's license to those
- 1:50:52Speaker 9: who do not have proof of lawful residence in the US.
- 1:50:57Speaker 9: The legislation also specify is that out of state driver's
- 1:51:01Speaker 9: license that are issued exclusively to illegal immigrants are also
- 1:51:05Speaker 9: invalid in Florida. And the list of major The lists
- 1:51:09Speaker 9: of licenses no longer accepted in the state is located
- 1:51:12Speaker 9: on the FDL or the Florida Department's Highway Safety and
- 1:51:15Speaker 9: Motor Vehicles website and includes like it's and it's so crazy,
- 1:51:19Speaker 9: like what states do you believe cannot drive in this state?
- 1:51:22Speaker 8: California, that would be mine. That in New York.
- 1:51:24Speaker 1: California's not on the list, New Mexico not on the list.
- 1:51:28Speaker 1: New York. There's only there's one, and it's everyone from
- 1:51:33Speaker 1: the state.
- 1:51:34Speaker 9: Yeah, well, I guess it is if you have a
- 1:51:36Speaker 9: license that was issued a certain kind of license, Like
- 1:51:40Speaker 9: I'll give you an example, Connecticut, if you have a
- 1:51:43Speaker 9: license that says not for federal identification, you cannot use
- 1:51:48Speaker 9: that as a driver's license in the state of Florida.
- 1:51:50Speaker 9: If you come here from Delaware and you have a
- 1:51:53Speaker 9: license that says driving privilege only or not valid for identification,
- 1:51:57Speaker 9: you cannot use that in the state of Florida. Come
- 1:52:00Speaker 9: here from Hawaii, you know, if you drive here.
- 1:52:01Speaker 8: From Hawaii, which would be interesting.
- 1:52:04Speaker 9: Limited purpose driver's license, limited purpose instruction permit, limited purpose
- 1:52:08Speaker 9: provisional driver's license, not valid for use official that all
- 1:52:13Speaker 9: those are no good in the state Rhode Island all that,
- 1:52:17Speaker 9: no good. Vermont's the other state. No real ID or
- 1:52:21Speaker 9: junior driver's license. None of that stuff will work in Florida.
- 1:52:24Speaker 9: So theoretically, if you come down here to vacation and
- 1:52:26Speaker 9: you have one of these licenses and you get pulled
- 1:52:28Speaker 9: over in the state of Florida, I guess they will
- 1:52:30Speaker 9: just not let you drive anymore. I mean me, just
- 1:52:33Speaker 9: confiscate your license maybe, or just tell you can't drive.
- 1:52:36Speaker 8: I don't know, in this day and age, it could
- 1:52:38Speaker 8: be far worse.
- 1:52:39Speaker 9: Yeah, I just had no clue that we had limitations
- 1:52:41Speaker 9: like that on anybody in the state, much less, you know,
- 1:52:45Speaker 9: just people coming from states in the US.
- 1:52:47Speaker 1: No clue at all.
- 1:52:50Speaker 8: Don't know the reasoning behind that.
- 1:52:52Speaker 9: Yeah, I guess it's just because that they don't want
- 1:52:55Speaker 9: people who are here illegally in the country who have
- 1:52:58Speaker 9: been issued driver's license or IDs. I didn't know that
- 1:53:01Speaker 9: you could even get a driver's license or an ID
- 1:53:04Speaker 9: if you were here in this country illegally, Like, how
- 1:53:06Speaker 9: would you prove you know what I'm saying, Yeah, you don't.
- 1:53:09Speaker 9: You have to they get the requirements to certificate.
- 1:53:12Speaker 12: Right, but proof of residence, proof of residence, don't you?
- 1:53:17Speaker 9: Okay, so let me let me because I haven't done
- 1:53:19Speaker 9: this in so long. Don't you have to bring like
- 1:53:21Speaker 9: a power bill or something that you have a proof
- 1:53:23Speaker 9: of residence for the address that's going on your on
- 1:53:25Speaker 9: your license.
- 1:53:26Speaker 7: So just because you you have a a proof of
- 1:53:31Speaker 7: residence does not mean you were born here, like you know, yeah,
- 1:53:36Speaker 7: you know an address and out right, it does not
- 1:53:38Speaker 7: prove that you were born here. Yeah, it just means
- 1:53:39Speaker 7: you rented a house or apartment.
- 1:53:41Speaker 1: Or po box. Can you even do a po box
- 1:53:43Speaker 1: for rovers anymore? You can? I don't think no, that'd
- 1:53:46Speaker 1: be that'd be quite a coupe for the criminals, would it?
- 1:53:48Speaker 23: Not?
- 1:53:51Speaker 1: Try and catch me?
- 1:53:52Speaker 9: Guy says My brother grew up in Florida, moved back
- 1:53:54Speaker 9: to Puerto Rico when he was eighteen, maintains a Florida
- 1:53:56Speaker 9: driver's license because it's such an s show back in
- 1:53:58Speaker 9: Puerto Rico with waiting and trying to get your driver's license.
- 1:54:02Speaker 9: That's what I heard about when my daughter lived in
- 1:54:03Speaker 9: South Africa. She said that the government buildings were just
- 1:54:06Speaker 9: a coin flip of whether or not they're going to
- 1:54:08Speaker 9: be open or even have power.
- 1:54:11Speaker 1: So, like I don't know.
- 1:54:12Speaker 9: Yeah, nine one six one o four, and then we'll
- 1:54:15Speaker 9: ended up with this before we get over to Scott Brown.
- 1:54:18Speaker 9: So the other day, I don't think you were here
- 1:54:20Speaker 9: with a stab when I brought this up. But we
- 1:54:21Speaker 9: never got any conclusion, any conclusion here. You know, when
- 1:54:25Speaker 9: you're at a turning signal, yeah, I say you're gonna
- 1:54:28Speaker 9: go left, but you don't have the signal. It's just
- 1:54:31Speaker 9: a green light, so you have to wait for the
- 1:54:32Speaker 9: oncoming traffic to clear out before you can make your
- 1:54:35Speaker 9: left turn.
- 1:54:35Speaker 1: It's still illegal turn right.
- 1:54:37Speaker 9: You ever pulled out there in the middle of that
- 1:54:39Speaker 9: section and thought for sure that you're gonna be able
- 1:54:41Speaker 9: to make it through, but the light starts turning yellow
- 1:54:43Speaker 9: and you're stuck out there in the middle and the
- 1:54:45Speaker 9: cars keep coming. So now you're stuck out there, somebody's
- 1:54:48Speaker 9: behind you in the turning lane. You can't back up.
- 1:54:50Speaker 9: Is that a ticket? Is that illegal? If you accidentally,
- 1:54:54Speaker 9: like say, you pull out there and you think, well,
- 1:54:56Speaker 9: I have all intentions of going through this light. I
- 1:54:58Speaker 9: had a green light when I pulled out here, should
- 1:55:00Speaker 9: be no problem.
- 1:55:01Speaker 1: Thought there was.
- 1:55:02Speaker 9: Gonna be able to you know, thought I was gonna
- 1:55:03Speaker 9: have a chance to get in there with cars. Maybe
- 1:55:05Speaker 9: something happened right, I didn't get the thought I.
- 1:55:08Speaker 1: Was looking for.
- 1:55:08Speaker 9: Now somebody's pulled into the turning lane and taking up
- 1:55:11Speaker 9: that spot.
- 1:55:11Speaker 1: So here I am.
- 1:55:12Speaker 9: Now there's no man's land in the middle of an intersection,
- 1:55:15Speaker 9: looking to go left. And now the light's red. And
- 1:55:18Speaker 9: if I turned left there even though the traffic stopped,
- 1:55:21Speaker 9: I'm running a red light. So he's getting stuck out
- 1:55:23Speaker 9: there illegal? Is it a ticket?
- 1:55:25Speaker 8: Yes, because you're impeding the flow of traffic.
- 1:55:28Speaker 1: Let me see here what Trooper Steve says? Oh, Steve says,
- 1:55:33Speaker 1: my crush? What are you talking about? There's no crush.
- 1:55:39Speaker 1: He's married. I'm married. There's no crush. I'm not even gay.
- 1:55:42Speaker 1: What are you talking about? He's not gay. Why are
- 1:55:44Speaker 1: you all about? Grinder? Oh my god, it was just
- 1:55:46Speaker 1: a joke. Get off my budgies. So what did Trooper
- 1:55:52Speaker 1: Steve say? Yeah?
- 1:55:53Speaker 9: And when he was asked about getting stuck in an intersection,
- 1:55:56Speaker 9: he says, why did I get a ticket if my
- 1:55:57Speaker 9: light was green when I entered that intersection but couldn't Ooh,
- 1:56:00Speaker 9: because they got stuck by traffic.
- 1:56:02Speaker 12: Get moved before you were given the all clear and
- 1:56:05Speaker 12: now you're impeding the flow of traffic.
- 1:56:06Speaker 9: Yeah, the scenario says, you're driving a heavy traffic light turnscreen,
- 1:56:09Speaker 9: everything starts moving, you pulling the intersection, only for the
- 1:56:11Speaker 9: traffic to suddenly stop. Light changes. Now you're stuck in
- 1:56:13Speaker 9: the middle. Moments later, you're being pulled over and you're
- 1:56:16Speaker 9: cited for blocking in the intersection. Exactly like you said.
- 1:56:19Speaker 9: If it sounds familiar, it is absolutely true. Under floor
- 1:56:24Speaker 9: the law, drivers are not permitted to enter an intersection
- 1:56:27Speaker 9: unless they can complete the maneuver and fully clear it.
- 1:56:30Speaker 9: When entering on a green light is required, it does
- 1:56:32Speaker 9: not override the responsibility to ensure that there's enough space
- 1:56:35Speaker 9: on the other side.
- 1:56:36Speaker 1: So, but basically what they're saying is is, if.
- 1:56:38Speaker 9: You don't know if you can make it, do not
- 1:56:40Speaker 9: pull your car out there, because if you get stuck
- 1:56:42Speaker 9: out there.
- 1:56:42Speaker 8: And there's a cop near, you're going to get a ticket.
- 1:56:44Speaker 9: You are going to get a ticket. And that makes
- 1:56:46Speaker 9: perfect sense. Actually, and I've done that. I've done that
- 1:56:48Speaker 9: so many times, and it business you off because you
- 1:56:50Speaker 9: pull out there like oh, you're like almost don't even
- 1:56:53Speaker 9: realize it's happening, right, Yeah, And then you look behind
- 1:56:56Speaker 9: you and somebody's sitting there and you're trying to signal
- 1:56:59Speaker 9: them to back up, even if they're on the car
- 1:57:01Speaker 9: and they're.
- 1:57:01Speaker 1: Just they're on their phone. They're okay, they're not even looking.
- 1:57:04Speaker 8: They're hoping you get the ticket.
- 1:57:06Speaker 9: Yeah, they're like, they're like, go, buddy, go exactly all right?
- 1:57:10Speaker 9: Seven seven zero three one. That's how you text us.
- 1:57:12Speaker 9: Don't forget guys, you're six o'clock. Keyword is bank.

- 1:57:29Speaker 9: and do it's only money with their buddy. Scott Brown
- 1:57:31Speaker 9: from Edgewater Family Wealth.
- 1:57:42Speaker 1: What's up?
- 1:57:42Speaker 9: Colbert Crue Matt from Jacksonville, Hey Trooper Steve, I love you, bro,
- 1:57:46Speaker 9: but nobody writes tickets for people who block intersections.
- 1:57:53Speaker 1: I see it every day all day long. Good god man,
- 1:58:00Speaker 1: Hey guys, happy day.
- 1:58:01Speaker 23: I used to work with a company that hired a
- 1:58:03Speaker 23: lot of illegal immigrants and it was common knowledge that
- 1:58:06Speaker 23: you go to certain states and get a driver's license
- 1:58:08Speaker 23: where it was easier to acquire one, come to Florida,
- 1:58:11Speaker 23: and now that you have a license, Florida would give
- 1:58:14Speaker 23: you a Florida driver's license.
- 1:58:15Speaker 1: Understood.
- 1:58:16Speaker 23: I think that's what this new thing is about the
- 1:58:18Speaker 23: issuance of a license. If you're here on vacation. I
- 1:58:21Speaker 23: don't believe you're gonna get hassled. It's just that Florida
- 1:58:23Speaker 23: won't honor or recognize that to issue a Florida driver's license.
- 1:58:28Speaker 1: Did not know that.
- 1:58:28Speaker 9: Awesome, Thanks for that heads up, buddy, appreciate that. Smartest
- 1:58:30Speaker 9: audiences in.
- 1:58:31Speaker 8: The world, we say it all the time.
- 1:58:33Speaker 9: Welcome back to the Jim Culvert Show, Real Radio one
- 1:58:35Speaker 9: or four point one Bank. We believe it though, b
- 1:58:38Speaker 9: A and let them say it.
- 1:58:39Speaker 1: Jack shut up? Okay, bank, is your six o'clock here?
- 1:58:42Speaker 1: Where that's B A n K.

- 1:58:45Speaker 9: for your chance at one thousand dollars. I am Jim
- 1:58:48Speaker 9: deb is here.
- 1:58:49Speaker 1: Hello, Jack is here as well. Yeah, let's do it's
- 1:58:51Speaker 1: only money. Well figure.
- 1:58:54Speaker 10: People passionate about planning for their future rise a love investment, grant.
- 1:59:00Speaker 11: Build.
- 1:59:03Speaker 10: Isn't that really just common sense financial advice?
- 1:59:08Speaker 1: Oh okay, here it's all little money. Wiscott Brown from
- 1:59:12Speaker 1: the Edge family.
- 1:59:14Speaker 9: W goodlow forbody, Scott. Triumphant return of mister Scott Brown.
- 1:59:22Speaker 1: So good to be back. All limbs it attached. Yeah,
- 1:59:24Speaker 1: one piece, didn't hit any tree.
- 1:59:26Speaker 22: Nice going boss here, right, I'm outstanding. Didn't really doing
- 1:59:31Speaker 22: doing very well?
- 1:59:32Speaker 1: I was your skiing? It was okay.
- 1:59:34Speaker 22: That was the snow kind of wild. I've heard it's
- 1:59:36Speaker 22: a little whild there. It's a little brown.
- 1:59:38Speaker 1: Yeah. Maybe that's gonna change this week with this cold
- 1:59:41Speaker 1: blast coming through.
- 1:59:41Speaker 22: Yeah, we got some snow while we were there, which
- 1:59:44Speaker 22: was nice, but it certainly wasn't the winter wonderland that
- 1:59:47Speaker 22: I normally see when I fly in to Colorado.
- 1:59:50Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 1:59:50Speaker 1: Yeah, where do you guys ski up there? Steamboat? Yeah
- 1:59:52Speaker 1: that's good. That's a good mountain.
- 1:59:53Speaker 22: It's it's a great friendly I'm a Floridian, I ski
- 1:59:56Speaker 22: like one.
- 1:59:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:59:56Speaker 22: Yeah, so I need a friendly mountain, A nice, soft,
- 1:59:59Speaker 22: cushy mountain with alcohol at the bottom. Yeah sure, So
- 2:00:02Speaker 22: Steamboat fits that bill. Each and every time we went.
- 2:00:05Speaker 1: Over to what was the last one, Beaver Creek?
- 2:00:08Speaker 15: What it is?
- 2:00:08Speaker 9: Yeah, and they have I don't know if it's that particular,
- 2:00:11Speaker 9: but there's a Waldorf in that area. I think, I
- 2:00:14Speaker 9: want to say it's a Waldorf.
- 2:00:15Speaker 22: I know it's a very fancy It makes sense because
- 2:00:17Speaker 22: that's a fancy mountain, right.
- 2:00:18Speaker 9: So when you come down one of those runs, it's
- 2:00:21Speaker 9: interesting because when you get to the halfway point, it's
- 2:00:23Speaker 9: one of the green runs I believe, or maybe a
- 2:00:24Speaker 9: blue one, there's a little plateau that you can stop
- 2:00:27Speaker 9: that catch your breath. For the last part it when
- 2:00:28Speaker 9: you look down, all the hot tubs are out there
- 2:00:32Speaker 9: on that pool deck are all steaming, so it looks
- 2:00:34Speaker 9: like the damp place is on fire twenty four hours
- 2:00:37Speaker 9: a day. But man, when you get down to the bottom,
- 2:00:38Speaker 9: you're like, man, who can afford this? It's just like
- 2:00:40Speaker 9: random hot tubs. So up the entire area, people just
- 2:00:43Speaker 9: come out there, drop their bibs, just jump.
- 2:00:45Speaker 1: In and grab a drank. Oh my god.
- 2:00:49Speaker 22: What's amazing to me is like at Steamboat they have
- 2:00:51Speaker 22: a couple of like halfway houses. Yeah, Like, who's having
- 2:00:55Speaker 22: a martini halfway down the mountain? I mean, they're just
- 2:00:58Speaker 22: asking for trouble. It would be your boy, right, yeah, yeah,
- 2:01:01Speaker 22: all right. Scott Brown owns and operates edgewordter Family Wealth.
- 2:01:05Speaker 22: That's Edgewaterfamilywealth dot com. That's important to know that website.
- 2:01:07Speaker 22: I'll tell you why a little bit later.
- 2:01:09Speaker 9: Scott is a fiduciary here in town with thirty eight
- 2:01:11Speaker 9: years of experience, and he's here to do one thing,
- 2:01:13Speaker 9: one thing only, and that's to make sure that you're
- 2:01:15Speaker 9: managing your money right or give you some good ideas
- 2:01:17Speaker 9: of how you could take care of your money a
- 2:01:19Speaker 9: little bit better long term, and maybe even give you
- 2:01:21Speaker 9: some pointers to make that money grow as you move
- 2:01:24Speaker 9: toward your retirement goal.
- 2:01:25Speaker 1: That's well said. Yeah, thank you, but I just made
- 2:01:27Speaker 1: that up right, It was pretty good. That'sn't sure why
- 2:01:29Speaker 1: I was here actually tell you so that thanks. I
- 2:01:31Speaker 1: appreciate that.
- 2:01:32Speaker 9: You know, I said earlier in the show, Scotty that
- 2:01:34Speaker 9: you know a lot of people you know moving toward
- 2:01:37Speaker 9: that that you know, that time where you'll have to
- 2:01:39Speaker 9: start making those decisions on how you want your money
- 2:01:41Speaker 9: handled and things of that nature. I'm actually one of
- 2:01:43Speaker 9: those people sure where I'll be looking for somebody in
- 2:01:45Speaker 9: the next couple of years to you know, to take
- 2:01:47Speaker 9: care of that money and make sure it's doing the
- 2:01:49Speaker 9: right things for me. And I know that four o
- 2:01:51Speaker 9: one k's are a great source of wealth here in America.
- 2:01:54Speaker 9: I know that a large portion of our millionaires are
- 2:01:59Speaker 9: four one K million.
- 2:02:00Speaker 22: Yeah, I think we the statistic Fidelity put out last
- 2:02:03Speaker 22: year with seven seven out of ten if you look
- 2:02:05Speaker 22: at their book of business meeting all the people that
- 2:02:07Speaker 22: have money with Fidelity, which is millions and millions of people,
- 2:02:11Speaker 22: seven out of ten of the folks that have seven
- 2:02:13Speaker 22: or seven figure accounts accumulated that money.
- 2:02:17Speaker 1: Through a four to one case. Right, Yeah, yeah, for sure.
- 2:02:19Speaker 22: You know it's counter into to people think, well they
- 2:02:21Speaker 22: were they were doctors or fancy lawyers, or they invented something,
- 2:02:25Speaker 22: or they're so let No.
- 2:02:26Speaker 1: It's just they were persistent. They were regular people saving money.
- 2:02:29Speaker 9: Absolutely, it's all it was. They just didn't stop and
- 2:02:31Speaker 9: they never talked about it. It never even acted. It was
- 2:02:33Speaker 9: around And that's exactly how you do it. It's like
- 2:02:36Speaker 9: cooking a brisket. We said all the time, right, it's
- 2:02:38Speaker 9: a slow and low baby all day long. Don't lift
- 2:02:41Speaker 9: the lid. No, definitely, don't lift.
- 2:02:43Speaker 1: Don't peak, don't lift the lid, don't.
- 2:02:45Speaker 7: Peak, don't stab your four o one cave especially tomorrow.
- 2:02:48Speaker 1: Don't peak, Yeah, yeah, for sure, do not peak tomorrow.
- 2:02:51Speaker 9: All right, So you have about ten things you want
- 2:02:53Speaker 9: to we need to know about our four to one ks.
- 2:02:54Speaker 1: Let's rip them.
- 2:02:55Speaker 22: Yeah, so I mean I sent you this list, and
- 2:02:57Speaker 22: of course my list died. Here we go, all right,
- 2:02:59Speaker 22: So a record. One of the things that caught my
- 2:03:01Speaker 22: attention was a record forty five percent of four oh
- 2:03:04Speaker 22: one K participants increase their contributions last year. So essentially
- 2:03:08Speaker 22: forty five percent of the people who are in four
- 2:03:10Speaker 22: to oh one k's. I'm assuming the experience having been
- 2:03:14Speaker 22: good the last few years contributed to that number. But
- 2:03:17Speaker 22: folks said, hey, this is going okay, I'd like to
- 2:03:21Speaker 22: add more.
- 2:03:21Speaker 1: Money to this thing.
- 2:03:23Speaker 22: And I've had this I've had this conversation a lot
- 2:03:25Speaker 22: of times in the last week. For some reason, people
- 2:03:27Speaker 22: have asked me what the tipping point in a four
- 2:03:29Speaker 22: oh one K is. And my experience tells me forty
- 2:03:32Speaker 22: years of doing this in thousands of participants met and
- 2:03:34Speaker 22: talked to, is that about fifty thousand dollars becomes a
- 2:03:39Speaker 22: difference maker for people. And what I mean by that is,
- 2:03:41Speaker 22: if you have ten grand in a four to oh
- 2:03:43Speaker 22: one k and something happens at the house, the air
- 2:03:45Speaker 22: conditioner or the roof, whatever it is, and you go, ah, look,
- 2:03:49Speaker 22: I could scrimp and save and I could do this
- 2:03:51Speaker 22: or do that to maybe get this thing paid for
- 2:03:54Speaker 22: this roof, for this air conditioner, or I could take
- 2:03:56Speaker 22: it out of my four oh one k.
- 2:03:58Speaker 1: It's ten grand. There's ten grand in the four one k.
- 2:04:00Speaker 1: Ten grand is going to change my life?
- 2:04:01Speaker 22: Who cares? Right, That's kind of what people think. But
- 2:04:04Speaker 22: what I've noticed is when they get to fifty grand,
- 2:04:07Speaker 22: that mentality changes for them. And what happens is they
- 2:04:10Speaker 22: say the same thing happens at home, the roof, the
- 2:04:13Speaker 22: air conditioner or whatever it is, and they say, I
- 2:04:15Speaker 22: need some money. But ooh that fuck fifty grand. That
- 2:04:18Speaker 22: made five grand last year when I made I'm not
- 2:04:21Speaker 22: touching that. The going to find another way. If I
- 2:04:24Speaker 22: got to pick up coke, ba is that still a thing?
- 2:04:26Speaker 1: Can you pick up coke? So don't do that. I'm
- 2:04:29Speaker 1: gonna find another way.
- 2:04:31Speaker 22: To accumulate this ten grand to leave my four to
- 2:04:33Speaker 22: one case. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's an interesting number. Did
- 2:04:36Speaker 22: you think it would be higher than that? If you
- 2:04:38Speaker 22: asked me that question, I would think it would be
- 2:04:39Speaker 22: higher than that for some reason. I probably if you
- 2:04:42Speaker 22: ask me forty years ago, I would have said, yeah,
- 2:04:45Speaker 22: it would be higher than that. But the fifty grand
- 2:04:48Speaker 22: seems to be where I find people start to take
- 2:04:50Speaker 22: it seriously. Yeah, because I think they see, like I said,
- 2:04:53Speaker 22: if you have if you have a grand in a
- 2:04:56Speaker 22: four to one kN you make ten percent, you make
- 2:04:57Speaker 22: one hundred bucks, and you're like, eh, so what right?
- 2:05:00Speaker 22: But if you have fifty grand and a four to
- 2:05:02Speaker 22: one K and you make ten percent, you make.
- 2:05:03Speaker 1: Five thousand dollars.
- 2:05:05Speaker 22: And for a lot of people, that's a month's wages
- 2:05:08Speaker 22: that just made on money that was sitting there right
- 2:05:11Speaker 22: in an account that they had literally, well not literally
- 2:05:14Speaker 22: nothing to do, but i'll largely had nothing to do.
- 2:05:17Speaker 9: Right, Hey, were there changes in legislation that allowed you
- 2:05:20Speaker 9: to also add more to your four one k?
- 2:05:21Speaker 1: Last year? Or so?
- 2:05:23Speaker 22: Every year they've changed the amount, they've uped the amount.
- 2:05:26Speaker 22: For the most part, I think for people in their
- 2:05:29Speaker 22: fifties or sixties, like people our age we can put
- 2:05:32Speaker 22: up to I think we're up to around thirty thousand
- 2:05:35Speaker 22: dollars a year with our makeup contributions. And for folks
- 2:05:38Speaker 22: that are below the age of fifty. It's still around
- 2:05:40Speaker 22: seventeen thousand dollars a year. I don't quote me on
- 2:05:42Speaker 22: the but's something still that neighborhood for sure.
- 2:05:44Speaker 9: All right, number two years, it says define contribution plans
- 2:05:47Speaker 9: four one K and four to H three bs cover
- 2:05:50Speaker 9: half of all private sector employees.
- 2:05:52Speaker 1: What do you mean by that?
- 2:05:53Speaker 22: So the four to one K is obvious. Four to
- 2:05:55Speaker 22: three B is just a not for profit version of
- 2:05:57Speaker 22: a four oh one case. If you work at a
- 2:05:58Speaker 22: hospital or for the government or whatever, you likely have
- 2:06:00Speaker 22: a four H three B. And I think people think
- 2:06:04Speaker 22: as the four oh one K that big of a deal. Well,
- 2:06:06Speaker 22: it literally covers half of the private workers in this country.
- 2:06:09Speaker 22: And the point is that pensions have kind of gone
- 2:06:12Speaker 22: the way of the Dodo bird. Very few companies Disney
- 2:06:15Speaker 22: still has one, a few other companies still have them.
- 2:06:17Speaker 22: The military as a great pension if you make it
- 2:06:19Speaker 22: to your twenty years. But the reality is most of
- 2:06:22Speaker 22: us have access to this thing that we call a
- 2:06:25Speaker 22: four oh one K or a four H three B,
- 2:06:27Speaker 22: and so many people in the private sector still do
- 2:06:30Speaker 22: not participate. And that's somewhat shocking. The understanding what we
- 2:06:34Speaker 22: know about the statistics for sure. Number three here says
- 2:06:36Speaker 22: the above is one hundred million people. So what we
- 2:06:39Speaker 22: just explained, they're one hundred million of those people and
- 2:06:41Speaker 22: twelve trillion dollars in total assets and defined contributions. Plans
- 2:06:46Speaker 22: also knows as four O one K. Well, really twelve
- 2:06:49Speaker 22: trillion dollars.
- 2:06:50Speaker 1: Wow, that's amazing and growing every day.
- 2:06:52Speaker 22: And I think again people underestimate the opportunity they have there.
- 2:06:57Speaker 1: And you could bemoan it.
- 2:06:58Speaker 22: You could say, well, tensions would be better, and of
- 2:07:01Speaker 22: course they would be better, right if a company just
- 2:07:04Speaker 22: put money aside for you. But the reality is not
- 2:07:06Speaker 22: many companies have that. So we can bemoan at all
- 2:07:08Speaker 22: we want. We have to do something for ourselves, says here.
- 2:07:11Speaker 9: Nearly half of all plans are immediately invested or vested
- 2:07:15Speaker 9: in matches, meaning the match goes with you no matter
- 2:07:19Speaker 9: how long you've been with the company.
- 2:07:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:07:21Speaker 22: So back in the day, when I started in the
- 2:07:23Speaker 22: business many hundreds of years ago, it feels like very
- 2:07:26Speaker 22: few companies allowed their participants to take the match if
- 2:07:30Speaker 22: they left within the first seven years. The typical vesting
- 2:07:33Speaker 22: schedule used to be you've vested zero percent for the
- 2:07:37Speaker 22: first two years and then you invest You've vested twenty
- 2:07:39Speaker 22: percent of a year for the next five meaning if
- 2:07:41Speaker 22: you didn't stay at the company for seven years, you
- 2:07:44Speaker 22: weren't taking all that money with you if you went
- 2:07:46Speaker 22: somewhere else. Oh boy, this is meaningful because it's a
- 2:07:49Speaker 22: big change. Companies are recognizing that workers are more portable
- 2:07:53Speaker 22: these days, they're more transient. I suppose it's it's proven
- 2:07:57Speaker 22: that younger younger people have been basically told you need
- 2:07:59Speaker 22: to change job every five years if you want to
- 2:08:02Speaker 22: get the maximum dollar for what you're worth. Because companies
- 2:08:05Speaker 22: aren't like they're not going, hey, I'm gonna give you
- 2:08:07Speaker 22: a raise. You have to basically threaten and leave to
- 2:08:08Speaker 22: get any money.
- 2:08:09Speaker 9: So, from what I understand, a new generations like they
- 2:08:11Speaker 9: look at it like I have to change jobs every
- 2:08:13Speaker 9: five years to make sure I'm making the right amount
- 2:08:15Speaker 9: of money.
- 2:08:15Speaker 22: Yeah, I think, And obviously there's some truth to that,
- 2:08:17Speaker 22: depending on your profession right now. But I suppose somebody
- 2:08:21Speaker 22: who's an applicant would say, well, what's the situation with
- 2:08:23Speaker 22: the four oh one k right, and they say you
- 2:08:25Speaker 22: got a seven year investing schedule, they might thick on it.
- 2:08:27Speaker 1: I might look somewhere up. I yeah, yeah, for sure.
- 2:08:29Speaker 22: I think companies are starting to understand this and making
- 2:08:32Speaker 22: these benefits more readily available to their people.
- 2:08:34Speaker 9: Talking to Scott Brown from Edgewater or Family Wealth, this
- 2:08:37Speaker 9: is its only money. Our segment trying to get you
- 2:08:39Speaker 9: into the idea of at least investing or taking care
- 2:08:42Speaker 9: of your cash. We're going through some things here for
- 2:08:44Speaker 9: your four O one K number six.
- 2:08:45Speaker 15: Here.
- 2:08:45Speaker 9: In two thousand and six, only ten percent of plans
- 2:08:48Speaker 9: auto enrolled their employees. Today that number is sixty one percent. Yeah,
- 2:08:53Speaker 9: so this is a jiget, I mean, come on, man, Well.
- 2:08:57Speaker 1: It's it's the nudge, right.
- 2:08:58Speaker 22: There's a famous book called Nudge that talks about how
- 2:09:00Speaker 22: we nudge people into doing things we want them to do.
- 2:09:03Speaker 22: And in this case, what the government realized. And here's
- 2:09:06Speaker 22: the funny part. When I started doing four oh one
- 2:09:08Speaker 22: ks thirty years ago, they hated this. They being the government,
- 2:09:12Speaker 22: like you would get you could actually potentially be sued
- 2:09:15Speaker 22: for putting someone in a four to oh one k
- 2:09:18Speaker 22: oh yeah, automatically. ARISA law was kind of fuzzy on this,
- 2:09:22Speaker 22: and it made advisors like me nervous when we said, well,
- 2:09:24Speaker 22: auto enroll your people because there's a ninety percent persistency
- 2:09:29Speaker 22: for auto enrollment. So if you get auto enrolled in
- 2:09:32Speaker 22: your plan, there's a ninety percent chance you'll persist and
- 2:09:34Speaker 22: stay with that enrollment. Conversely, if you have to enroll,
- 2:09:38Speaker 22: if you need to do something to make that, you know,
- 2:09:41Speaker 22: advocate on your own, behalf the numbers drop like in half. Wow,
- 2:09:45Speaker 22: that's insane, right, So we know that auto enrollment is important,
- 2:09:48Speaker 22: but the hilarity of the whole thing is, like I said,
- 2:09:50Speaker 22: when I started in the business, the government hated this idea.
- 2:09:52Speaker 22: Now the government loves this idea because they see the
- 2:09:55Speaker 22: deficiency and retirement savings and they see that people will
- 2:09:58Speaker 22: persistent if they're autom enrolled.
- 2:10:00Speaker 9: Interesting, all right, Number seven here, less than fifty four
- 2:10:03Speaker 9: percent of people under twenty five participate in their plans.
- 2:10:06Speaker 1: Yeah, so why is that? Well, they're young.
- 2:10:09Speaker 9: Well, I mean it's proven though, I mean their employees
- 2:10:11Speaker 9: don't tell I mean, is there no training at the
- 2:10:14Speaker 9: jobs like where they mentioned to them that the it's
- 2:10:17Speaker 9: available and.
- 2:10:18Speaker 7: We have sometimes they are not looking that far down
- 2:10:21Speaker 7: the road. A text just came in and said, thirty
- 2:10:23Speaker 7: nine years old started his four oh one K sixteen
- 2:10:26Speaker 7: years ago. They have almost half a million already. He
- 2:10:29Speaker 7: wishes his kids would understand what he's saying. So I
- 2:10:32Speaker 7: think it's just understanding the benefit of starting the earlier
- 2:10:36Speaker 7: start just exponentially puts you so much further ahead.
- 2:10:41Speaker 22: Yeah, compounding some miraculous thing. And to be fair, we
- 2:10:44Speaker 22: were all young ones, right, and our priorities can be
- 2:10:46Speaker 22: a little goofy when we're younger and we have other
- 2:10:48Speaker 22: things that concern us, maybe we have young children.
- 2:10:50Speaker 1: Whatever it is.
- 2:10:51Speaker 22: But the reality is the seven out of ten millionaires
- 2:10:54Speaker 22: that we talk about that got them through four oh
- 2:10:56Speaker 22: one case, they're those that forty six percent. They're in
- 2:10:59Speaker 22: that forty six of twenty five year olds who started
- 2:11:02Speaker 22: saving early. So, yes, compounding is critical, and I do
- 2:11:06Speaker 22: think young people obviously think they'll do it tomorrow. Procrastinations
- 2:11:10Speaker 22: right day. But the reality is, if you start saving
- 2:11:14Speaker 22: at age twenty four and you earn eight percent a
- 2:11:17Speaker 22: year and you're making sixty thousand dollars a year, let's
- 2:11:20Speaker 22: say you get a three percent raise a year, you'll
- 2:11:22Speaker 22: have two point three million dollars at age sixty five.
- 2:11:25Speaker 22: If you wait till you're forty, however, you will have
- 2:11:28Speaker 22: around nine hundred thousand dollars, so less than half. While
- 2:11:31Speaker 22: that's by waiting that fifteen years to do the same
- 2:11:34Speaker 22: savings at the same retain credible. You know, I think
- 2:11:36Speaker 22: one of the major lessons, you know, younger people could
- 2:11:39Speaker 22: learn is is the fomo idea. In other words, just
- 2:11:42Speaker 22: assume that money's never going to be there. I think
- 2:11:44Speaker 22: most people think, well, you know, I could use that
- 2:11:46Speaker 22: thirty or eighty dollars a month or whatever that's going
- 2:11:48Speaker 22: in my four o one K. You know, I can't
- 2:11:49Speaker 22: afford to have that out of there. They don't They
- 2:11:51Speaker 22: don't think about training themselves to not have that money
- 2:11:55Speaker 22: and acclimate with a different lifestyle rather than sacrifice. I mean,
- 2:11:58Speaker 22: you got to sacrifice a little bit for this kind
- 2:12:00Speaker 22: of thing. I mean, you know, it's it's maybe a
- 2:12:02Speaker 22: terrible example, but if the government called you up tomorrow
- 2:12:05Speaker 22: said you know, you're behind on your taxes in US
- 2:12:07Speaker 22: ten grand a year for the next whatever five years
- 2:12:11Speaker 22: to catch up, you'd learn to get around it. You
- 2:12:14Speaker 22: figure that figure it out, right. You wouldn't like it,
- 2:12:16Speaker 22: it wouldn't be great. Maybe you wouldn't go out to
- 2:12:18Speaker 22: dinner as much, But the reality is you would figure
- 2:12:20Speaker 22: it out and I think, you know again putting off.
- 2:12:24Speaker 22: You know, gratification is a difficult thing for people.
- 2:12:28Speaker 1: You know delay.
- 2:12:29Speaker 22: As I said early on in this program many years ago,
- 2:12:32Speaker 22: once you learn to get gratification from the delay, delay
- 2:12:35Speaker 22: and gratification is no longer hard, right. And when you
- 2:12:38Speaker 22: get to that magic balance of forty or fifty or
- 2:12:40Speaker 22: seventy or whatever it is for you, it literally changes
- 2:12:44Speaker 22: every It did for me.
- 2:12:45Speaker 1: I was a young person at one time.
- 2:12:46Speaker 22: Or another, believe it or not, and at that time
- 2:12:49Speaker 22: I made silly decisions with money. But once that balance
- 2:12:51Speaker 22: started to grow and I started to see what ten
- 2:12:54Speaker 22: percent meant to one hundred grand as opposed.
- 2:12:56Speaker 9: To ten grand, then it became a thing for you.
- 2:12:58Speaker 9: Complete game day hundred percent. Like it says here it
- 2:13:00Speaker 9: says less than fifty four percent of people under twenty
- 2:13:02Speaker 9: five participate in their four one K plans. Then the
- 2:13:04Speaker 9: next one says, but over eighty four percent of people
- 2:13:08Speaker 9: or people who are thirty five and overdue.
- 2:13:10Speaker 22: Well let's think about that, right, So does that tell
- 2:13:13Speaker 22: you if you're twenty five, not participating is a good
- 2:13:15Speaker 22: What these thirty five year olds said, well wait a minute, yeah,
- 2:13:18Speaker 22: well this is real started to talk this is really happening. Yeah, yeah,
- 2:13:23Speaker 22: so yeah, that should tell you everything you need to know.
- 2:13:25Speaker 22: And people in their fifties participate around ninety percent, so
- 2:13:28Speaker 22: that should tell you everything.
- 2:13:28Speaker 1: You need is there.
- 2:13:29Speaker 9: Women are actually more likely to participate than men. That
- 2:13:32Speaker 9: actually makes sense. That tracks one hundred percent, does I
- 2:13:34Speaker 9: don't think anybody is surprised by that.
- 2:13:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:13:36Speaker 22: Men men are more impulsive. Men are more prone to gambling.
- 2:13:39Speaker 22: Men are more prone to I can.
- 2:13:40Speaker 1: Do this myself, and.
- 2:13:43Speaker 22: I need bigger wheels on this truck, right exactly, that
- 2:13:46Speaker 22: kind of stuff.
- 2:13:47Speaker 1: Hey, they're not spending enough another texture.
- 2:13:49Speaker 7: What advice would you give for a server who doesn't
- 2:13:51Speaker 7: have a four oh one k available?
- 2:13:53Speaker 1: So yeah, and that's a tough one. Restaurants are tough.
- 2:13:55Speaker 22: They don't they're notorious for not having not This isn't
- 2:13:58Speaker 22: true obviously of all restaurants, but many restaurants don't because
- 2:14:00Speaker 22: their workers come and go. But the reality is, if
- 2:14:04Speaker 22: you don't have one, your best bet is is an
- 2:14:07Speaker 22: IRA like putting money right? And if I don't know
- 2:14:09Speaker 22: how this, how do you say the person was did
- 2:14:10Speaker 22: they say.
- 2:14:11Speaker 1: They did not?
- 2:14:11Speaker 22: But if you're a young person, a roth makes all
- 2:14:13Speaker 22: the sense in the world. If you're in your fifties,
- 2:14:15Speaker 22: maybe the traditional makes more sense. But just doing an
- 2:14:17Speaker 22: IRA and you can do I think now seven or
- 2:14:19Speaker 22: eight thousand dollars a year in an IRA. If you're
- 2:14:21Speaker 22: over fifty, I think it's closer to ten.
- 2:14:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:14:23Speaker 9: This other text I have to read because I we
- 2:14:26Speaker 9: have combated this a little bit, this mentality with this
- 2:14:28Speaker 9: segment for a little bit. It says, all caps, I'm
- 2:14:31Speaker 9: twenty five, y'all making me feel stupid. I need to
- 2:14:33Speaker 9: get my s straight and start this already. You're only
- 2:14:36Speaker 9: twenty five, dog, you are. You are not behind.
- 2:14:40Speaker 1: Matter of fact, if you have that attitude right now,
- 2:14:42Speaker 1: you're winning. It's one hundred percent what I was going
- 2:14:44Speaker 1: to say. Write that in all caps.
- 2:14:46Speaker 9: Now act that out in all caps, and you will
- 2:14:48Speaker 9: not believe where you'll be when you're forty.
- 2:14:51Speaker 22: That text tells me everything I need to know. Yeah,
- 2:14:53Speaker 22: they get it, they get it, and they're kind of
- 2:14:55Speaker 22: they're really not giving us a hard time. They're giving
- 2:14:57Speaker 22: themselves a hard time, which I totally get.
- 2:15:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:15:00Speaker 22: No, look, you're twenty five, you got so much time
- 2:15:03Speaker 22: ahead of you. But doing here's the problem is people
- 2:15:05Speaker 22: want to drink the ocean in one gulp. They say, well,
- 2:15:08Speaker 22: it's got what's a hundred bucks gonna do? What's a
- 2:15:10Speaker 22: hundred bucks a month is gonna do? I'll wait till
- 2:15:11Speaker 22: I can do five hundred. I'll call me when you're
- 2:15:13Speaker 22: fifty three, I can do one thousand. I'll wait till
- 2:15:15Speaker 22: I can do it. No, do the hundred, because the
- 2:15:18Speaker 22: compounding will take care of you over time. So do
- 2:15:21Speaker 22: the hundred. And when you can do.
- 2:15:23Speaker 1: Two, do two.
- 2:15:24Speaker 22: And here's a cautionary tale is don't get too don't
- 2:15:28Speaker 22: listen to me or to you, and get over zels.
- 2:15:31Speaker 22: And now every extra dime you have, you're putting in
- 2:15:33Speaker 22: your fural o K. That's not what I'm asking for here,
- 2:15:35Speaker 22: what I'm saying because if you do that and something
- 2:15:37Speaker 22: goes wrong, now you've got to dig in the four
- 2:15:39Speaker 22: to one K and you're shooting yourself in the foot.
- 2:15:41Speaker 22: So what I would say is, if you say, hey,
- 2:15:42Speaker 22: I think I got two hundred bucks a month, do
- 2:15:44Speaker 22: one hundred and fifty. Do one hundred in the four, OK,
- 2:15:47Speaker 22: but the rest in the savings account. So when the
- 2:15:49Speaker 22: bad thing happens, which it will, you'll have that extra cash.
- 2:15:52Speaker 1: You won't have to mess with the four one.
- 2:15:53Speaker 9: And choose the number that you know you'll not quit on, right,
- 2:15:57Speaker 9: I mean, don't don't overbite this, don't chew off too much.
- 2:16:00Speaker 9: The number one thing is consistency and being persistent with this.
- 2:16:03Speaker 9: So if you look at it in your well, if
- 2:16:05Speaker 9: I really stretch it out, I could do three hundred.
- 2:16:06Speaker 9: Don't do that because you will stop doing it. You
- 2:16:09Speaker 9: will find a reason not to. Just you'll have to
- 2:16:11Speaker 9: trust it on this. We've done this a long time
- 2:16:14Speaker 9: and it will work if you just choose something that's
- 2:16:16Speaker 9: comfortable and then don't waiver. That's the number one thing.
- 2:16:19Speaker 1: You can't waiver.
- 2:16:20Speaker 22: Yeah, you have to be determined and yeah, pick something
- 2:16:22Speaker 22: that's not painful. It's like saying I'm going to start
- 2:16:24Speaker 22: running and then you want to do twenty six miles
- 2:16:26Speaker 22: the first story like that idea?
- 2:16:28Speaker 1: All right?
- 2:16:28Speaker 9: The last one here says in two thousand and eight
- 2:16:30Speaker 9: or fifty percent of participants either reduced or stop contributing
- 2:16:33Speaker 9: all together.
- 2:16:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:16:34Speaker 22: So I pointed that out because if you think about
- 2:16:37Speaker 22: how excited I just told you, forty five percent of
- 2:16:39Speaker 22: people increased. But that's recency bias, right, I'm not saying
- 2:16:43Speaker 22: it's a bad thing. But they're doing it because the
- 2:16:45Speaker 22: market's doing well, right, they've seen positive results. The real hero,
- 2:16:49Speaker 22: the real winner, will add to a contribution when the
- 2:16:52Speaker 22: market's down right. Because if you look at oh eight,
- 2:16:55Speaker 22: that fifty percent of people, if you had one hundred
- 2:16:58Speaker 22: dollars you put in the market in a oa'd be
- 2:17:00Speaker 22: worth over eleven hundred bucks today.
- 2:17:02Speaker 1: No way, and forty percent game.
- 2:17:05Speaker 9: So for every one hundred dollars you put in there
- 2:17:07Speaker 9: is a grand is a grand, it's a ten x
- 2:17:10Speaker 9: in the mighty.
- 2:17:12Speaker 22: And the reason people stop contributing is why because the
- 2:17:15Speaker 22: market was down right. So in their heads mark it
- 2:17:17Speaker 22: down bad. Now in their heads mark it up good.
- 2:17:20Speaker 22: It should it shouldn't really matter.
- 2:17:22Speaker 1: Wow, man, incredible stuff.
- 2:17:24Speaker 22: So yeah, so I I just I Every year there's
- 2:17:27Speaker 22: a study that comes out from Vanguard on four oh
- 2:17:29Speaker 22: one ks and I'm that nerd.
- 2:17:31Speaker 1: That one can't wait to read it.
- 2:17:32Speaker 22: It's like you guys can't read your I don't know
- 2:17:34Speaker 22: what you read around here. Yeah, But for me, I'm like, oh,
- 2:17:37Speaker 22: the four one reports here, right, So I read it.
- 2:17:39Speaker 22: I read it from top to bottom. I find the
- 2:17:41Speaker 22: statistics fascinating. And if you I think for people who
- 2:17:44Speaker 22: are listening. If you understand, you're not alone. If you
- 2:17:47Speaker 22: understand one hundred million people are in these plans. If
- 2:17:49Speaker 22: you understand the average participant saves about seven percent a
- 2:17:52Speaker 22: year plus match, which puts them about ten or eleven
- 2:17:54Speaker 22: percent on an annual basis. You don't have to drink
- 2:17:56Speaker 22: the ocean in one gulp. Most young people start with
- 2:17:59Speaker 22: one hundred bucks, fifty bucks, whatever it is, and then
- 2:18:01Speaker 22: people in their forties and fifties are usually doing five hundred,
- 2:18:04Speaker 22: six hundred bucks a month.
- 2:18:05Speaker 9: And Scott, can I tell you I know you can
- 2:18:06Speaker 9: say this because I know you've experienced it. The confidence
- 2:18:09Speaker 9: that gives you once you get that account to like,
- 2:18:12Speaker 9: you know, eight ten grand and you look at that
- 2:18:13Speaker 9: and you're like, damn, I did that.
- 2:18:15Speaker 1: Yeah, I did that. I did do that.
- 2:18:16Speaker 9: I beat the odds of everybody in my family, and
- 2:18:19Speaker 9: I've started something that nobody else has And it doesn't
- 2:18:22Speaker 9: take that long that point in the number.
- 2:18:24Speaker 1: It just like with the diet or with working down.
- 2:18:26Speaker 9: It's the same thing. If you just stay persistent, you
- 2:18:29Speaker 9: will be fine. That's the number one key.
- 2:18:31Speaker 22: And don't let the crabs try to pull you back
- 2:18:33Speaker 22: in the bucket. Yeah, tell when you tell people, I'm
- 2:18:36Speaker 22: gonna listen, I'm gonna go after.
- 2:18:37Speaker 1: It my four wing. Oh what are you doing that for?
- 2:18:39Speaker 1: I would never get the company my money it is.
- 2:18:41Speaker 1: That's theulmbest thing I ever heard. All Right, stay tuned,
- 2:18:43Speaker 1: here's we're gonna do. We're gonna do some news.

- 2:18:51Speaker 9: being back in as obviously you know, primate the pump

- 2:18:55Speaker 12: Yeah, we're gonna talk about lawmakers tackling large data centers,

- 2:19:07Speaker 9: Right, saying little break, we'll come back and get deb's news.

- 2:19:46Speaker 1: That good stuff.
- 2:19:46Speaker 7: Do it with the team at TK law online. It's
- 2:19:50Speaker 7: one firm for life dot com.
- 2:19:59Speaker 9: Welcome back to the Jim Over Show. We're already at
- 2:20:00Speaker 9: one oh four point one seven seven zero three one's
- 2:20:03Speaker 9: how you text us?
- 2:20:04Speaker 1: By the way, thanks for the kind words about the segment.
- 2:20:07Speaker 1: You know it says love the advice. Love the segment.
- 2:20:09Speaker 9: You guys are the best two pages of questions today
- 2:20:12Speaker 9: And if you ever have one when Scott's in, please
- 2:20:15Speaker 9: text us because we take a picture of the screen
- 2:20:17Speaker 9: and next week we'll tackle some of these questions that
- 2:20:20Speaker 9: kind of recur a lot over the office and they're
- 2:20:23Speaker 9: great help to people.
- 2:20:23Speaker 1: By the way, it warms my heart. It's yeah, it's
- 2:20:25Speaker 1: a lot of fun. Yeah, I'll take a screenshot.
- 2:20:27Speaker 7: Jim will literally take a picture of the screen to
- 2:20:31Speaker 7: text it y polaroid.
- 2:20:34Speaker 1: Look at it.
- 2:20:35Speaker 9: Well, I'm doing I'm like, you have to blow this up.
- 2:20:36Speaker 9: Dog tell people how to get your books. They're very
- 2:20:39Speaker 9: important and they're free.
- 2:20:40Speaker 1: It's right, Chrice.
- 2:20:42Speaker 22: So if you come to Edgewaterfamily Well dot com you
- 2:20:44Speaker 22: can get my book I Never Made Anybody Rich, which
- 2:20:47Speaker 22: you can download for free, or actually I think we
- 2:20:49Speaker 22: send you a copy of that and then you can.
- 2:20:50Speaker 1: Download for free.
- 2:20:51Speaker 22: I got a guy which is a guide to using
- 2:20:52Speaker 22: a financial advisor. And you know, I think a lot
- 2:20:55Speaker 22: of people are confused about how to interact with the
- 2:20:56Speaker 22: financial advisor. And this guy's very simply says steps one
- 2:21:00Speaker 22: through ten. Ask this, don't ask that, don't do this,
- 2:21:02Speaker 22: don't do that. It's it's really a neat thing. And
- 2:21:03Speaker 22: if you need a console, again Edgewaterfamilywealth dot com there's
- 2:21:07Speaker 22: a drop down and we do we probably average four
- 2:21:09Speaker 22: or five consoles.
- 2:21:10Speaker 1: Away over the phone.
- 2:21:11Speaker 9: And the very thing is people can hear your vernacular,
- 2:21:13Speaker 9: they hear that you're a regular guy. I would not
- 2:21:14Speaker 9: have let you on the show with some stiff suit.
- 2:21:17Speaker 9: So the cool thing is, is you not how to
- 2:21:18Speaker 9: communicate with regular people. That's a giant asset for us.
- 2:21:21Speaker 9: So when you call up Scott, don't think you're gonna
- 2:21:23Speaker 9: get a bunch of mumbo jumbo or finance talk. He's
- 2:21:26Speaker 9: gonna talk to you just like he talks on the air,
- 2:21:28Speaker 9: and it's gonna work out great for you.
- 2:21:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean we avoid jargon.
- 2:21:30Speaker 22: I think if you encounter somebody who's you can using
- 2:21:33Speaker 22: jargon way too frequently, that probably means they don't know.
- 2:21:35Speaker 1: What they're talking.
- 2:21:36Speaker 9: A yeah, yea yeah, yeah. There is the signal word thing.
- 2:21:39Speaker 9: And of course we're gonna have some live events coming
- 2:21:41Speaker 9: up soon.
- 2:21:42Speaker 22: We're working on two events and we're actually gonna maybe
- 2:21:45Speaker 22: announce I think next week. A webinar really, so for
- 2:21:48Speaker 22: people who are like I can't go to a thing,
- 2:21:49Speaker 22: I can't go to lunch, I can't go to dinner,
- 2:21:51Speaker 22: but maybe like a one hour long webinar when we
- 2:21:53Speaker 22: just get on.
- 2:21:54Speaker 1: Your computer, we answer questions and you'll email I'm a burger.
- 2:21:57Speaker 1: We will not do that.
- 2:22:00Speaker 9: You can order Uber eats while you're talking, all right,
- 2:22:02Speaker 9: Edgewaterfamilywealth dot Com.
- 2:22:03Speaker 1: That's Edgewaterfamilywealth dot Com. Don't forget. They will do consults
- 2:22:06Speaker 1: on the phone or in person. You can do that
- 2:22:08Speaker 1: for sure.
- 2:22:09Speaker 9: They've had any questions that we didn't cover today during
- 2:22:11Speaker 9: the segment, Feel free to give these guys a buzz,
- 2:22:13Speaker 9: and don't forget to go and get those books. They're
- 2:22:14Speaker 9: absolutely free as well, and they can help you a lot.
- 2:22:16Speaker 9: Deb What do you have for news?
- 2:22:18Speaker 17: Good time for You.
- 2:22:20Speaker 10: Heard it here first on the Jim Colbert Show.
- 2:22:23Speaker 12: Well, Jimmy, I have a state Senate committee approving a
- 2:22:26Speaker 12: bill to put guidelines in place for large data centers.
- 2:22:29Speaker 12: Oh yeah, it requires facilities pay the cost of electric
- 2:22:33Speaker 12: service as well as water permits. Bill sponsor Brian Avila
- 2:22:37Speaker 12: says it's one of the year's biggest issues.
- 2:22:40Speaker 24: This is a balance between making sure that we are
- 2:22:42Speaker 24: still leading the way on tech, but also laying a
- 2:22:45Speaker 24: foundation and protecting our consumers and particularly making sure that
- 2:22:49Speaker 24: our local governments in rural areas have a voice and
- 2:22:52Speaker 24: a seat at the table.
- 2:22:53Speaker 12: So the bill would require the Florida PSC to develop
- 2:22:56Speaker 12: service requirements to ensure that each large load custom bears
- 2:23:00Speaker 12: its own full cost of service. You'll pass that onto
- 2:23:03Speaker 12: rural communities. You know, we're struggling to figure out how
- 2:23:06Speaker 12: to keep a hospital open in their area.
- 2:23:08Speaker 1: Yeah. I get ready for pocket nuclear plants.
- 2:23:10Speaker 8: Yeah, exactly, that's coming, neighborhood nukes.
- 2:23:12Speaker 12: Heilsboro College leaders in Tampa weighed the next steps in
- 2:23:15Speaker 12: a proposed Tampa Bay Rays stadium project. Trustees met this
- 2:23:19Speaker 12: afternoon and a proved a non binding agreement tied to
- 2:23:22Speaker 12: redeveloping the Dale Maybury Campus. Ray CEO Ken Babby says,
- 2:23:26Speaker 12: the team really needs the love.
- 2:23:29Speaker 8: In North America.
- 2:23:30Speaker 19: At least in my eyes, there's not a professional sports
- 2:23:34Speaker 19: team nick that is in more crisis and has more
- 2:23:37Speaker 19: headwinds than the Tampa Bay Ray.
- 2:23:40Speaker 12: Hey, we had a billion dollars in plenty of land here,
- 2:23:42Speaker 12: but the proposal calls for a new stadium, mixed use development,
- 2:23:46Speaker 12: and a rebuilt college campus, with the Rays leasing much
- 2:23:50Speaker 12: of the property long term, still hoping to have a
- 2:23:53Speaker 12: stadium open for the twenty twenty nine season. And then
- 2:23:56Speaker 12: finally another sports stories, Governor Ron DeSantis, Indiana Governor Mike
- 2:24:01Speaker 12: Braun a.
- 2:24:02Speaker 8: Few Florida delicacies.
- 2:24:04Speaker 12: Okay, after Indiana defeated Miami and the College Football Playoff
- 2:24:07Speaker 12: National Championship. Since he lost that bet, DeSantis must send
- 2:24:11Speaker 12: bronze stone crabs and key lime pie.
- 2:24:14Speaker 1: Really what a mix?
- 2:24:15Speaker 12: He was promised pork tenderloin and sugar cream pie if
- 2:24:19Speaker 12: the Hurricanes won.
- 2:24:20Speaker 8: What I never heard of sugar cream pie.
- 2:24:23Speaker 9: Well, he send them expensive ass crab legs, and you're
- 2:24:26Speaker 9: the cheapest kind of port there is.
- 2:24:28Speaker 1: They hit out of here with that. What a terrible deal.
- 2:24:30Speaker 12: The Hoosier has finished a perfect sixteen to no season
- 2:24:33Speaker 12: with a win last night in Miami Gardens. The Canes
- 2:24:36Speaker 12: finished their season thirteen and three, and you heard it
- 2:24:40Speaker 12: here first.
- 2:24:40Speaker 1: I'm the Jim Colbert chef.
- 2:24:42Speaker 15: Thank you.
- 2:24:42Speaker 1: Never appreciate that so much. Who do we have the thing? Today?

- 2:25:23Speaker 7: at thirty nine percent is under five years. Oh really,
- 2:25:27Speaker 7: ten to twenty came in. It's twenty seven percent. Five
