- 0:01For the most part, people live on the surface of their being
- 0:05and do not see into the occult or hidden beings and forces that
- 0:09exist and act upon them unseen, invisible, and essentially
- 0:15unregarded. Many things that occur in the
- 0:18world are hard to explain without an understanding of the
- 0:21occult forces at work. Western medicine made a great
- 0:25progress when it finally opened up to the action of invisible
- 0:29entities and forces that are causative factors in disease.
- 0:34Consider that the widespread and deadly disease we call malaria
- 0:39was originally thought to be caused by the bad air in certain
- 0:43locales, hence the name malaria or bad air.
- 0:48In fact, Western medicine was able to identify that malaria is
- 0:53actually caused by a single cell parasite called Plasmodium,
- 0:58which is transmitted through the bite of certain mosquitoes.
- 1:02Once the vector and the cause were understood, invisible to
- 1:06the normal surface vision, steps could be taken to mitigate the
- 1:10spread of the disease through vector control, et cetera.
- 1:14As long as the cause of malaria was unknown, it was subject to
- 1:19the development of superstition based on unwarranted assumptions
- 1:24based on what we take for knowledge when we are limited to
- 1:28the surface view of things. This is not an isolated example,
- 1:33but an indicator of how things occur in all areas of our lives,
- 1:37including in our religious institutions and practices.
- 1:42We do not see the forces and beings that actually either
- 1:45erect or at least take advantage of the institutions within which
- 1:50we bring and express our fears, regrets, desires, and
- 1:55impulsions. These vital beings are also very
- 1:59conscious about where and how they can best feed off of human
- 2:03emotions and energetic expression, and thus they tend
- 2:07to congregate and in some cases even actively manage what takes
- 2:12place in these places of worship.
- 2:16This is not restricted to any specific religion, but is more
- 2:20generally operative, just as sincere consecration and
- 2:24devotion is not limited to anyone religion.
- 2:29The depth of the individual sincerity is a measure of both
- 2:33the type of protection the individual has when entering
- 2:36into such a vitally charged environment and the amount and
- 2:40type of progress in his spiritual seeking that he can
- 2:43obtain even when he undertakes his practices in what might be
- 2:48seen as a compromised environment, the mother
- 2:53observes. Quote.
- 2:55I am sorry, but that's how it is.
- 2:58I tell you. I have deliberately tried this
- 3:00experiment a little everywhere. Maybe I found some very tiny
- 3:05places, like a tiny village church at times, where there was
- 3:09a very quiet little spot for meditation.
- 3:13Very still, very silent where there was some aspiration, but
- 3:19this was so rare. I have seen the beautiful
- 3:22churches of Italy, magnificent places They were full of these
- 3:28vital beings and full of terror. I remember painting in a
- 3:32basilica of Venice and while I was working in the confessional,
- 3:37a priest was hearing the confession of a poor woman.
- 3:41Well, it was truly a frightful sight.
- 3:44I don't know what the priest was like, what his character was.
- 3:48He could not be seen. You know, don't you, that they
- 3:51are not seen. They are shut up in a box and
- 3:55received the confession through a grill.
- 3:58There was such a dark and sucking power over him, and that
- 4:02poor woman was in such a state of fearful terror that it was
- 4:06truly painful to see it. And all these people believe
- 4:10this is something holy. But it is a web of the hostile
- 4:15vital forces which use all this to feed upon.
- 4:18Besides, in the invisible world hardly any beings love to be
- 4:23worshipped except those of the vital.
- 4:26These, as I said, are quite pleased by it, and then it gives
- 4:30them importance. They are puffed up with pride
- 4:34and feel very happy, and when they can get a herd of people to
- 4:38worship them, they are quite satisfied.
