- 1:23Speaker 1: The popcorn moment, Let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Story you need to hear to believe. Then grab your
- 1:29Speaker 1: popcorn because there is more. I don't bring you the
- 1:37Speaker 1: conversation about the ridiculousness and the ugliness of Jimmy Kimmel.
- 1:50Speaker 1: He's an ugly dude. Him and his wife. She's the
- 1:52Speaker 1: executive producer. You bet I'm gonna bring it up. She
- 1:57Speaker 1: is just as involved in set talking about uh Milania
- 2:03Speaker 1: Trump as a widow as Jimmy. Of course she is.
- 2:08Speaker 1: This isn't some rogue guy. Maybe it's a rogue family,
- 2:12Speaker 1: but it's not a rogue guy. I was thinking of
- 2:14Speaker 1: a joke, and I want to know if I can
- 2:15Speaker 1: get away with this producer, Carl, I'm gonna text you
- 2:20Speaker 1: the joke. You'd tell me if I can get away
- 2:23Speaker 1: with this joke. I mean, I mean if Jimmy Kimmel's
- 2:26Speaker 1: telling jokes, and my joke is not a gross My
- 2:29Speaker 1: joke is a deep cut. Uh but but uh here, Gonn,
- 2:33Speaker 1: I'm gonna I'm gonna write.
- 2:34Speaker 2: This to you. What do Donald Trump? This is the joke.
- 2:42Speaker 2: I came up with this yesterday.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Donald.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Hold if I could type Donald Trump, and I'm not
- 2:50Speaker 2: gonna say it's a it's a deep cut, Tom, I'm
- 2:58Speaker 2: writing the joke.
- 3:03Speaker 1: All right. I send that to you. Carl, tell me
- 3:05Speaker 1: if this joke is acceptable. Tell me if this joke
- 3:08Speaker 1: is allowable? Right there, Producer, Carl, I would pass you
- 3:12Speaker 1: would pass on that. You would pass on that, okay?
- 3:16Speaker 1: All right, By the way, if Carl's passing, clearly, I
- 3:20Speaker 1: don't understand how deep it is. Okay, see that I
- 3:27Speaker 1: ran it by my producer, and my producer was like, now,
- 3:30Speaker 1: let's keep the job. That didn't happen in Kimmeland. No no, no, no, no,
- 3:36Speaker 1: no no no. What happened was, hey, honey, I'm gonna
- 3:39Speaker 1: tell a joke about the first lady being a widow.
- 3:42Speaker 1: And she said, as long as the check's clear.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Dooo, that's what she said, little finger guns right there.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Well, people like uh Jake Tapper very very upset. The
- 4:00Speaker 1: President is upset that the first Lady is upset that
- 4:02Speaker 1: they've said something, and now we have to stand up
- 4:05Speaker 1: for free speech.
- 4:07Speaker 3: It is a big problem of calls for violence and dehumanization,
- 4:12Speaker 3: and it's getting worse. But it is not a problem
- 4:16Speaker 3: to be wielded like a causual to try to stop
- 4:18Speaker 3: journalism or jokes. Journalism and jokes are not calls for violence.
- 4:23Speaker 3: Calls for violence are calls for violence. And far too
- 4:27Speaker 3: many Americans and positions of power and influence are two
- 4:31Speaker 3: blaise and too BLib about those who make them.
- 4:35Speaker 1: So Jake Tapper wants you to know that it is
- 4:42Speaker 1: it is totally fine for Kimmel to say to say
- 4:50Speaker 1: what he says. He's not the one engaging in incendiary anything. Rather,
- 4:57Speaker 1: it's it's those impositions of power influence. It's Trump's fault.
- 5:06Speaker 1: That is an interesting, interesting, interesting take. Now this was
- 5:14Speaker 1: Jake Tapper with Jimmy Kimmel in twenty twenty two when
- 5:19Speaker 1: it was wrong to joke about Paul Pelosi. Remember, Paul
- 5:23Speaker 1: Pelosi was involved with the guy and then he got
- 5:26Speaker 1: hit with a hammer, And I don't think it's cool
- 5:27Speaker 1: that he got hit with a hammer. But he was
- 5:29Speaker 1: clearly involved with the guy, and I think knew the
- 5:31Speaker 1: guy and certainly invited the guy. And where was his
- 5:33Speaker 1: pants anyway?
- 5:37Speaker 3: And it's not just the smears that they put out
- 5:39Speaker 3: about Paul Pelosi, these deranged conspiracy theories. A lot of
- 5:42Speaker 3: these folks, right wing maga folks that tried to make
- 5:45Speaker 3: jokes at Paul Pelosi's expense. Where's the line? I mean,
- 5:49Speaker 3: I personally found those jokes by Don Junior and others
- 5:52Speaker 3: just horrible and not even remotely funny.
- 5:56Speaker 4: I've said a million stupid things, and I would hope
- 5:59Speaker 4: that people would decide whether an apology is sincere when
- 6:04Speaker 4: an apology isn't even offered. That's listen, there's these people
- 6:09Speaker 4: are supposed to be Christians.
- 6:10Speaker 1: I am a Catholic.
- 6:11Speaker 4: I grew up in the church. What I was taught
- 6:14Speaker 4: was that if you do something wrong, you ask for forgiveness,
- 6:18Speaker 4: and you are forgiven for these things. The idea that
- 6:22Speaker 4: that it would be anything other than that, that these
- 6:24Speaker 4: people who are allegedly following the teachings of Jesus h
- 6:29Speaker 4: it would behave in this way. It just it's it
- 6:33Speaker 4: doesn't matter, it doesn't make any sense at all.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Well, as long as you are getting lectured regarding your
- 6:41Speaker 1: faith by Jimmy Kimmel, it's all right. The Charlie Kirk joke,
- 6:48Speaker 1: the Milania Trump joke. Has anybody ever questioned whether or not?
- 6:54Speaker 1: Sometimes the answer to can I be forgiven?
- 6:56Speaker 4: Is no?
- 6:59Speaker 1: Well, I think that's what people who are of faith
- 7:03Speaker 1: would say to me. That's not how it works. And
- 7:05Speaker 1: I get such a thing, but to be lectured to
- 7:09Speaker 1: by Jake Tapper, if there's a consistency, there's a consistency,
- 7:15Speaker 1: well where is it? You joked about her being a widow,
- 7:19Speaker 1: and then in addressing the controversy, you did it again
- 7:22Speaker 1: last night. He doesn't care, and his wife doesn't care.
- 7:26Speaker 1: The show doesn't care, the family doesn't care. It's all Trump.
- 7:31Speaker 1: It's not It just isn't. It just isn't. Then again,
- 7:43Speaker 1: I have long thought very little of Jake Tapper.
