0:21
SPEAKER_04: We are about to wrap up season five.
0:24
SPEAKER_04: I'm excited, like I'm excited because the next season is once again different, but I'm really excited to hear your thoughts because in a lot of ways this is kind of like the end.
0:48
SPEAKER_04: So I'm Lisa, I'm the excited one, and I am sipping on a surfside lemonade iced tea with vodka.
1:00
SPEAKER_02: You're so sponsored.
1:03
SPEAKER_02: Well, you know, I'm gonna be cool like you.
1:06
SPEAKER_02: Well, I'm Agnes, and I'm sipping on um Breakfast of Champions.
1:11
SPEAKER_02: My little coffee with lots of Kulua.
1:13
SPEAKER_02: Actually, it's Kahlua with some coffee in it.
1:18
SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
1:19
SPEAKER_02: Uh I am not so excited.
1:24
SPEAKER_02: I mean, I'm liking not that not that it's the end, I'm liking the show now.
1:29
SPEAKER_02: Because it's not.
1:32
SPEAKER_02: Um, I gotta tell you, this episode, I was like, oh shit, no, she didn't.
1:39
SPEAKER_02: Oh no, they did not.
1:40
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, they did.
1:41
SPEAKER_02: Oh, good child.
1:42
SPEAKER_02: Um, no, it was a good episode.
1:44
SPEAKER_02: And I was like, nope, I'm not gonna watch the next one.
1:46
SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna be a good girl, then wait.
1:48
SPEAKER_04: It was hard not to, right?
1:49
SPEAKER_04: Like, I know what happens, and I'm still very hard not to.
1:53
SPEAKER_02: Um there were some surprises, some like, uh-huh.
1:57
SPEAKER_02: I knew it.
1:58
SPEAKER_02: I knew it.
1:58
SPEAKER_02: I knew like this is on brand, and some shit, and someone was like, What the actual fuck?
2:04
SPEAKER_02: But I do have a theory on next season's topic, like what's it gonna be about?
2:10
SPEAKER_04: Okay, do you want to tell us?
2:11
SPEAKER_02: Okay, I'll tell you.
2:12
SPEAKER_02: Come on to forget exactly.
2:16
SPEAKER_02: I gotta tell you what I remember.
2:17
SPEAKER_02: Okay, so I think that okay, first of all, side note, this episode was very Oedipus Rex like, you know, I was like, oh Lord, and that aside, um more on that later.
2:35
SPEAKER_02: Um I think it works, and next season starts off them meeting each other, getting back at each, somehow working back into each other's lives, because it was destiny, and ending up on the island again.
2:56
SPEAKER_02: Because that's lost fashion.
2:58
SPEAKER_04: Okay.
3:01
SPEAKER_04: I'm not even gonna ask you for your hot takes because I think this is pretty much it.
3:06
SPEAKER_04: I think that was pretty much it.
3:08
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that was it.
3:08
SPEAKER_04: Hot takes.
3:10
SPEAKER_04: So let's let's do the flashbacks.
3:12
SPEAKER_04: So it opens on Juliet.
3:15
SPEAKER_04: Actually, no, does it open on Juliet?
3:16
SPEAKER_04: Does it open on Jack?
3:17
SPEAKER_04: It opens on Jack, I think.
3:19
SPEAKER_02: Jack.
3:20
SPEAKER_02: Well, he's in the operating room.
3:22
SPEAKER_04: Mm-hmm.
3:22
SPEAKER_04: He's performing his Oh, was it Juliet?
3:25
SPEAKER_02: No, maybe it was Juliet.
3:28
SPEAKER_02: Oh, it was Juliet.
3:30
SPEAKER_02: I think it doesn't matter.
3:31
SPEAKER_04: We'll talk about Jack first.
3:33
SPEAKER_04: We'll get him out of the way.
3:35
SPEAKER_04: While performing his first solo surgery in residency, Jack accidentally nicks the patient's dural sac.
3:43
SPEAKER_04: He begins to panic, but Christian tells him to count to five and get a grip.
3:48
SPEAKER_04: Later, after his Apollo bar gets stuck in the vending machine, Jack is angry at Christian for embarrassing him in front of his team, and Christian is like, Well, that's because you don't have faith in yourself.
4:02
SPEAKER_04: Jack starts to walk away, but Jacob is there and he offers him the candy bar he retrieved from the machine.
4:09
SPEAKER_04: And he says, I guess it needed a little push.
4:15
SPEAKER_02: Juliet I didn't know what he meant by that.
4:18
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, oh yeah.
4:19
SPEAKER_04: In 1981, Mr.
4:21
SPEAKER_04: and Mrs.
4:22
SPEAKER_04: Carlson sit down with their 10-year-old daughter Juliet and 12-year-old daughter Rachel, informing them that they have to talk about something important.
4:33
SPEAKER_04: Uh, the parents are getting a divorce, the kids are upset, and they say that they love each other, but they're just not meant to be together.
4:43
SPEAKER_04: Juliet's pissed, she runs off, and she can't understand how two people can love each other but not stay together.
4:52
SPEAKER_04: Her mother tells her she'll understand when she's older.
4:56
SPEAKER_04: I mean, don't all parents say that you'll understand when you're older.
5:00
SPEAKER_04: But I mean being told that, but it's true.
5:03
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's true.
5:07
SPEAKER_04: Hurley.
5:09
SPEAKER_04: In 2007, Hurley is being released from prison.
5:12
SPEAKER_04: He tries to convince the prison clerk that he shouldn't be released because he's a murderer.
5:17
SPEAKER_02: I know.
5:18
SPEAKER_02: The guy's like, yeah, no.
5:20
SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
5:21
SPEAKER_04: The clerk is just like, um, whatever, you've been cleared, so just take your stuff and go.
5:28
SPEAKER_04: Hurley continues to protest, but the clerk is like, there's a cab stand.
5:34
SPEAKER_04: Hurley hops into one, which he soon realizes is already occupied.
5:38
SPEAKER_04: He apologizes and makes to get another, but the passenger, who is Jacob, says he's only gone a few blocks and that they can share.
5:47
SPEAKER_04: Hurley is like, Alright, cool.
5:49
SPEAKER_04: After realizing that Jacob was not in prison, Hurley asks why he was waiting in a cab outside of one, to which he responds, I was waiting for you, Hugo.
6:00
SPEAKER_02: Not at all.
6:01
SPEAKER_04: I know.
6:02
SPEAKER_04: Hurley then asks Well, no.
6:05
SPEAKER_04: Hurley then assumes that he must be one of the dead people he sees, but Jacob assures him that he's not dead.
6:11
SPEAKER_04: He asks Hurley why he won't go back to the island.
6:14
SPEAKER_04: Hurley says it's because he is cursed and he has caused all of the death and tragedy that has surrounded him.
6:21
SPEAKER_04: That's why the plane crashed, and that's why my friends died.
6:25
SPEAKER_04: Libby, Charlie, now they visit me and I can't make it stop.
6:29
SPEAKER_04: Jacob rhetorically asks him to consider that perhaps the ability to speak with his dead friends could also be seen as a blessing, since he gets to talk to the people he's lost.
6:41
SPEAKER_04: To which Hurley responds that it would be wonderful if he wasn't crazy.
6:46
SPEAKER_04: He assures Hurley that he's not crazy.
6:50
SPEAKER_04: And then Hurley asks, Who are you, dude?
6:55
SPEAKER_04: Jacob responds by telling the cab driver, Okay, this is my stop.
7:02
SPEAKER_04: He says, I'm just up here on the corner.
7:05
SPEAKER_04: He tells Hurley about the Ajero flight 316 and says, All he has to do is be on that plane.
7:13
SPEAKER_04: And he reminds him that it's his choice.
7:16
SPEAKER_04: As Jacob gets out of the cab, Hurley tells him he left his guitar, and Jacob says it's not his guitar and walks away.
7:26
SPEAKER_04: Alright, so back on the island, the last episode left off because the van was on its way to the swan and it stopped because Kate, Jack, and Juliet were pointing guns.
7:44
SPEAKER_02: Yes.
7:45
SPEAKER_04: Okay, were you gonna say something?
7:47
SPEAKER_02: No, I remember something.
7:48
SPEAKER_02: I I was going to, but then I remembered, so I answered my own question.
7:51
SPEAKER_04: Oh.
7:52
SPEAKER_04: Yes.
7:53
SPEAKER_04: So then that's where 1977 left off for them.
7:59
SPEAKER_04: Jack, so Jack and Sawyer quote discuss the situation away from the other survivors.
8:05
SPEAKER_02: So he's like, I'll give you five minutes.
8:08
SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, like you had a choice.
8:10
SPEAKER_02: Like he still has this sense of I have like I Yeah, no.
8:15
SPEAKER_02: I was like, I'm like, no, you really don't have a choice.
8:18
SPEAKER_02: He's like, I'll stand.
8:19
SPEAKER_02: No, shit the fuck down.
8:21
SPEAKER_02: And what does he do?
8:22
SPEAKER_02: He sits down.
8:24
SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
8:25
SPEAKER_02: I just sometimes I think like Jackie, don't you're not the leader.
8:30
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
8:32
SPEAKER_04: Um, Sawyer expresses what's done is done.
8:36
SPEAKER_04: And he also brings up the fact that one year ago, technically, is when his father, you know, killed his mother, killed himself, and he was like, I could have gone back and stopped it, but I didn't because what's done is done.
8:53
SPEAKER_04: And you shouldn't try to change your past.
8:55
SPEAKER_04: Jack argues that it's his destiny to change his past or the past, and that Locke has always been right.
9:03
SPEAKER_04: And then they fight.
9:04
SPEAKER_04: Juliet breaks it up because now she's like, we gotta do what Jack says.
9:10
SPEAKER_04: Sawyer's face when she says he's right, is like, what the fuck just happened?
9:17
SPEAKER_04: Right.
9:19
SPEAKER_04: What the actual fuck, Juliet?
9:24
SPEAKER_04: This this part is one of those moments when you're like, first of all, I absolutely love their fucking relationship.
9:31
SPEAKER_04: Like, especially when Sawyer is like, all right, Jack, we gotta talk.
9:36
SPEAKER_02: And Jack is like, fine, and he just like hands his gun and she Yes, he just hands it off, like, because he already knows she has his back and she's gonna be there.
9:45
SPEAKER_02: And she just looked while she's looking at Jack, she just knows to grab his gun.
9:49
SPEAKER_02: That whole scene was like life goes for me.
9:52
SPEAKER_02: But unfortunately, I'm the one that's handing my webbing off to myself, you know.
9:58
SPEAKER_00: She's got a visual, people.
10:00
SPEAKER_00: She got a visual.
10:01
SPEAKER_00: Um she's like, oh, fuck two of them.
10:04
SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
10:05
SPEAKER_04: But then, um, and and then it gets like, you know, she says that even though they love each other, they're not meant to be together, and that if they never meet, she never has to lose him.
10:17
SPEAKER_04: And I'm just like, oh my heart.
10:21
SPEAKER_02: It was a little little it was a little emotional, I guess.
10:56
SPEAKER_04: Jack views the construction site, noting that the incident is about to happen.
11:02
SPEAKER_04: He pleads to Kate for her support, which she gives him after his argument that preventing the plane crash is the best way for Aaron to be reunited with Claire, and that nothing in his nothing in his life had ever felt so right.
11:20
SPEAKER_04: With everyone now agreeing on the upcoming plan, Jack enters the construction site of the swan, and at the same time, the security officer Phil's Phil arrives with the team of armed men.
11:35
SPEAKER_04: On the orders of Radzinski, Dr.
11:37
SPEAKER_04: Chang reluctantly continues drilling into the energy source beneath the construction site.
11:44
SPEAKER_04: Uh Miles is like, um, did you ever once stop to think that maybe the thing that you're think you're preventing you're actually causing?
11:55
SPEAKER_04: And they all just look at each other and he's like, Well, I'm glad you put a lot of thought into this.
12:00
SPEAKER_02: Right, because and when I said there's more to come, that's when the whole Oedipus Rex thing came into play for me.
12:05
SPEAKER_02: I was like, Oh, because like, how many times do we try to like?
12:10
SPEAKER_02: I think I don't want to know my future.
12:12
SPEAKER_02: I don't want to know because you try to avoid it, probably is that's what sets off.
12:18
SPEAKER_02: Or it's either A, you try and avoid it, sets off the the events that leads to it anyway, or B, it is what it is, regardless of how you get there.
12:27
SPEAKER_02: So right.
12:28
SPEAKER_04: So then that's when we go back into the whole free will versus fate, right?
12:34
SPEAKER_02: And Mr.
12:35
SPEAKER_02: I still think he's I don't know why, I think he's an Egyptian god.
12:38
SPEAKER_02: I think I said that like a while ago with the whole Egyptian, like Jacob is Egyptian god or some shit.
12:45
SPEAKER_02: Okay, I think he was godlike.
12:47
SPEAKER_02: We always thought it was godlike, and then with the they had like I feel like they had hieroglyphs at one point, and then they had like the statue seemed Egyptian.
12:58
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, there's a lot of Egyptian so I'm not crazy, right?
13:01
SPEAKER_02: Do you know how you remember shit?
13:02
SPEAKER_02: And you're like, did I remember that?
13:03
SPEAKER_02: Did it a dream?
13:05
SPEAKER_02: Was it a fever dream or was that real?
13:06
SPEAKER_02: Well, I feel like Dorothy sometimes.
13:15
SPEAKER_02: This is super creepy.
13:18
SPEAKER_02: Lisa used to read the synopsis from a piece of paper, and she's reading for the computer, so she's like staring at me.
13:25
SPEAKER_02: That's what's okay.
13:31
SPEAKER_04: The other 1977 survivors assist Jack in taking the swan site.
13:38
SPEAKER_04: As Jack sneaks into the area, he's spotted by Phil, who begins shooting at Jack.
13:46
SPEAKER_04: To Redzinski's surprise, a dormavan speeds into the gunfight, and Kate, Juliet, Miles, and Sawyer jump out to cover Jack.
13:54
SPEAKER_04: Sawyer grabs Phil and holds him hostage, telling Chang to stop the drill.
13:58
SPEAKER_04: Chang responds that he can't, since the drill is being pulled into the shaft by itself.
14:04
SPEAKER_04: Redzinski shouts that the drill has hit the pocket of electromagnetism, and as the gunfire stops, Jack drops the bomb's core into the drilling shaft, and then everybody is like, oh my god, oh my god, like they brace, and then nothing happens.
14:21
SPEAKER_02: It does not look like LAX to me.
14:27
SPEAKER_04: Suddenly, a strange noise emanates from the site.
14:31
SPEAKER_04: A puff of steam shoots out of the shaft, and a small magnetic and small magnetic objects like handguns and tools begin getting pulled into the hole.
14:41
SPEAKER_04: The energy grows and pulls larger objects like wheelbarrows, oil drums, and iron beams, and Jack is hit in the head by a flying toolbox.
14:53
SPEAKER_04: The large drilling apparatus collapses, crushing Chang's hand.
14:58
SPEAKER_04: Remember, he was missing a hand in the previous episodes.
15:02
SPEAKER_02: Oh, that's right.
15:04
SPEAKER_04: So this is kind of like when you say, Is Miles right?
15:11
SPEAKER_04: Because that would mean fate, not free will.
15:15
SPEAKER_04: Right.
15:16
SPEAKER_04: Because we already knew that he lost a hand.
15:21
SPEAKER_04: Ridzinski and his men try to drive away in a Jeep, but the magnetism topples the car and prevents him from escaping.
15:29
SPEAKER_04: Phil retrieves his weapon and smugly prepares to execute Sawyer, but the metal scaffolding had another plan.
15:36
SPEAKER_04: It falls on top of him, and Rebar is like impales him.
15:42
SPEAKER_02: Twerp.
15:42
SPEAKER_02: He almost like the twerp.
15:43
SPEAKER_02: I don't know why.
15:44
SPEAKER_04: He looks like Mark from Love is Blind.
15:47
SPEAKER_04: No, he doesn't.
15:49
SPEAKER_04: Yes, he does.
15:50
SPEAKER_04: No, they're those same like bug eyes.
15:54
SPEAKER_04: Yes, they do.
15:55
SPEAKER_04: They could be brothers.
15:57
SPEAKER_02: No, they can't.
15:59
SPEAKER_04: All right.
15:59
SPEAKER_04: Can you go look in the show notes right at the top?
16:03
SPEAKER_04: Says text us.
16:04
SPEAKER_04: Okay.
16:05
SPEAKER_04: Just tell us if you think they look alike.
16:08
SPEAKER_04: Tell us why you think I'm right.
16:16
SPEAKER_04: All right.
16:17
SPEAKER_04: Um, okay.
16:20
SPEAKER_04: Then a heavy, like a metal chain, a big chain, is pulled towards the chef, but it wraps itself around Julia.
16:27
SPEAKER_04: It looked like a ghost, not like mag magnetism.
16:31
SPEAKER_04: It looked like a ghost was flying that chain.
16:33
SPEAKER_04: Because it went right around her.
16:36
SPEAKER_04: Uh, it takes her down the hole, except she tries to hold on.
16:42
SPEAKER_04: She said down the hole like atomaniac.
16:45
unknown: Yeah.
16:47
SPEAKER_04: Juliet go down the hole.
16:51
SPEAKER_02: If you know, you know.
16:53
SPEAKER_02: Okay.
16:53
SPEAKER_04: Sawyer and Kate rush to help, but their attempts to pull her out are just they're just not enough.
17:01
SPEAKER_04: And she just falls all the way down the hole.
17:07
SPEAKER_02: Down the hole.
17:09
SPEAKER_04: Okay.
17:09
SPEAKER_04: I'm gonna I'm gonna skip the last part for now.
17:13
SPEAKER_02: Copy that.
17:14
SPEAKER_04: Because that's like the very, very end of the episode.
17:16
SPEAKER_02: I knew you were gonna do that.
17:18
SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
17:20
SPEAKER_04: Alright, so where we left off here, um they were heading towards the statue to see Jacob, and the Lost Sees 2.0 were on their way to find Richard or Jacob or whatever.
17:45
SPEAKER_04: The Cardis.
17:46
SPEAKER_04: At the remains of the statue, Locke and Ben appear to be surprised when Richard tells them that this is where Jacob lives.
17:54
SPEAKER_04: Son asks Ben what happened to the rest of the statue, but Ben says he doesn't know.
17:59
SPEAKER_04: And Son is like, you expect me to believe that?
18:04
SPEAKER_04: As twilight falls, Loc demands to be led to Jacob.
18:09
SPEAKER_04: He brings Ben with him against Richard's wishes.
18:13
SPEAKER_04: Richard pushes the stone door open and Ben and Locke enter a chamber in the base of the statue.
18:19
SPEAKER_04: Loc hands Ben a knife, telling him that things will change once Jacob is gone.
18:24
SPEAKER_04: Ben looks up through an opening in the roof at the remaining foot of the statue.
18:29
SPEAKER_04: Outside, when the Ajira group arrives, Alana asks for Ricardis.
18:35
SPEAKER_04: She asks him what lies in the shadow of the statue, and Richard replies in Latin, okay, I'm gonna attempt.
18:44
SPEAKER_04: Il quinos omnes servabi.
18:48
SPEAKER_04: I don't see it.
18:49
SPEAKER_00: Sounds good.
18:50
SPEAKER_00: Sounds good.
18:51
SPEAKER_04: If you don't know, you don't know.
18:56
SPEAKER_04: And it translates to he who will save us all.
18:59
SPEAKER_04: Ilana reveals the contents of the crate.
19:07
SPEAKER_04: Am I waiting?
19:09
SPEAKER_02: Holy mother of bars.
19:11
SPEAKER_04: Okay, did you see that coming?
19:14
SPEAKER_02: No.
19:15
SPEAKER_02: Okay, I think if I was paying attention, I would have.
19:18
SPEAKER_04: Maybe.
19:19
SPEAKER_02: Because after I saw that, I'm like, damn it, they gave us clues throughout like the last two or three episodes.
19:24
SPEAKER_02: I'm like, fuck!
19:25
SPEAKER_04: Like I even asked you straight out.
19:27
SPEAKER_04: Like, why do you think he says Lot doesn't seem like himself?
19:31
SPEAKER_02: I just I the clues.
19:35
SPEAKER_02: It's like I've never seen anyone be brought back to like they all these it's like a it was like a bad movie for me when they start picking up like all the parts.
19:43
SPEAKER_02: Remember in the usual suspects and chasm?
19:46
SPEAKER_02: You didn't see the usual suspects?
19:49
SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
19:53
SPEAKER_02: Uh-huh.
19:53
SPEAKER_02: I quit.
19:54
SPEAKER_02: I quit.
19:55
SPEAKER_02: I quit.
19:55
SPEAKER_02: I can't be your co-host.
19:56
SPEAKER_02: If you this all right, anyway, it was a moment where all the flashes of the clues came back to me.
20:03
SPEAKER_02: I'm like, oh fuck, man.
20:06
SPEAKER_02: Lisa's gonna get on me.
20:08
SPEAKER_04: I'm gonna say this.
20:10
SPEAKER_04: You know why I think you didn't catch it?
20:14
SPEAKER_02: Because I was usually doing something else as I was watching it.
20:17
SPEAKER_04: No, because before you were like hate watching, and now you're not.
20:24
SPEAKER_02: So I'm not I'm just watching to enjoy it.
20:26
SPEAKER_02: Before I was like, I was looking to pick at it.
20:28
SPEAKER_02: I was like, no, yeah.
20:31
SPEAKER_00: Shut up.
20:33
SPEAKER_00: Now I really quit.
20:34
SPEAKER_04: I'm okay with it.
20:35
SPEAKER_04: I quit, I quit.
20:38
SPEAKER_04: Uh yeah, so basically they they dump over the crate, and they're like, Yeah, we found it in the cargo hold in a coffin.
20:49
SPEAKER_04: And Sun is like, um, if that's Locke, then who's in there?
20:55
SPEAKER_02: Like in the statue.
20:56
SPEAKER_02: But although, as soon as she said, as soon as I saw Locke's body, I knew who was in there though.
21:00
SPEAKER_04: And who's in there?
21:02
SPEAKER_02: The guy when when they first showed Jacob, he goes, I wish I can kill you.
21:07
SPEAKER_02: He's like, Well, good looking trying.
21:11
SPEAKER_02: So here's a question before I forget: was it really Jacob going to all these people, or was it the other God that was trying to maneuver things?
21:20
SPEAKER_02: I think it was, I don't think it was Jacob going to them.
21:22
SPEAKER_02: It was the other guy maneuvering things.
21:25
SPEAKER_02: And she's so fucking happy because I was so into it.
21:28
SPEAKER_02: And I'm gonna get you back.
21:31
SPEAKER_04: You're gonna get answers though.
21:33
SPEAKER_04: I'm not gonna answer your question, but you will get answers to those questions.
21:41
SPEAKER_04: Back in the chamber, Jacob immediately recognizes the true identity of Locke's impersonator and respond and remarks, Well, I guess you found your loophole.
21:52
SPEAKER_04: The imposter replies that he has indeed, and that he's gone through a lot to be there.
21:59
SPEAKER_04: Jacob tells Ben that no matter what he has been told, he still has a choice, that he can simply leave so the two adversaries can discuss their issues.
22:11
SPEAKER_04: Ben asks Jacob about all the times he was neglected and ignored despite his faithful service.
22:17
SPEAKER_04: He complains that Locke was the favored one and asks, What about me?
22:22
SPEAKER_04: Jacob's reply is, What about you?
22:24
SPEAKER_04: After hearing Hearing this, Ben snaps, stabs Jacob twice.
22:29
SPEAKER_04: At this point, Jacob falls into Ben, and Jacob whispers to Locke's impersonator, they're coming.
22:39
SPEAKER_04: And then he rolls his ass into the fire pit in the center of the room.
22:46
SPEAKER_04: We go back to 1977.
22:50
SPEAKER_04: Jack is I know.
22:54
SPEAKER_04: Jack regains consciousness and is trying to help Kate pull Sawyer off of the wreckage of the drilling apparatus and or Juliet.
23:06
SPEAKER_04: Um, you know, they're like there's nothing else we can do for her.
23:10
SPEAKER_04: You you gotta go, otherwise, it's gonna take you too.
23:19
SPEAKER_04: Come here.
23:21
SPEAKER_04: I came upstairs to record.
23:22
SPEAKER_04: Side note, I came upstairs to record, and I'm like, what are these clothes all over the floor?
23:29
SPEAKER_04: And then it struck me.
23:30
SPEAKER_04: Um, those clothes were in a plastic bag.
23:33
SPEAKER_01: Stella?
23:34
SPEAKER_04: They were they were still folded and in a stack.
23:36
SPEAKER_04: Like it was like like fell over a little bit, but like she ate the plastic bag around the clothes.
23:44
SPEAKER_04: A whole fucking plastic shopping grocery bag.
23:50
SPEAKER_04: And I'm like, I I I I say where did the bag go?
23:52
SPEAKER_04: Like, I don't know it's gonna come out of my ass.
23:56
unknown: Yeah.
23:58
SPEAKER_04: This is kind of like a callback to um I don't was it the end?
24:07
SPEAKER_04: I think it was the end of season one when they found the hatch, and then the light went on, and it was like remember the camera and it was the angle, and it was like because they're looking down into it.
24:20
SPEAKER_04: Remember they're they're trying to they're it was Jack and Locke, I think, and they're looking down because and they're and Locke or Locke was looking down because he was like pounding on it, and then the light turned on.
24:36
SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
24:38
SPEAKER_04: But then there's this one scene, and I can't remember if it was then or or possibly in the season opener, where the camera kind of pans all the way down the hole, like the length of it, and so this is a callback because it's the exact same shaft, it's just before it was built.
24:58
SPEAKER_04: That was gonna be that that was leading towards the end of it, and this is like the beginning of it.
25:03
SPEAKER_02: Okay, cool.
25:05
SPEAKER_04: I know.
25:05
SPEAKER_04: Sorry, it would have been easier if you had just remembered, but but would it have been, but you know what?
25:13
SPEAKER_02: Did I really not remember it?
25:18
SPEAKER_02: I don't I don't oh it's kind of fun to see like the lady, the crazy lady with like the map on the wall with the red string.
25:29
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's it's not the crazy lady, it's Charlie.
25:33
SPEAKER_02: Charlie Day.
25:34
SPEAKER_02: You are the red string.
25:36
SPEAKER_02: It's you.
25:37
SPEAKER_04: That's cool.
25:37
SPEAKER_04: Can me and Charlie share?
25:38
SPEAKER_04: Because I love Charlie Day.
25:40
SPEAKER_02: That's fine.
25:40
SPEAKER_02: That's fine.
25:41
SPEAKER_02: Okay, and I gotta I might get a kick out of you know driving you crazy.
25:46
SPEAKER_02: You're okay.
25:47
SPEAKER_02: I gotta tell you, there's times where I would tell you, like, this show sucks.
25:50
SPEAKER_02: I mean, we didn't like it, but I would just say say it so you can be like, but it's so good.
25:55
SPEAKER_02: Just I can watch you lose your fucking mind.
25:59
SPEAKER_04: That's fair.
26:00
SPEAKER_04: I deserve it.
26:02
SPEAKER_04: So I I I can't complain.
26:04
SPEAKER_04: Um, anyhow, we see Juliet who's you know just like injured and and like done with life, and she sees she's laying there, the bomb is laying next to her, and she picks up a rock and starts hitting the bomb, and she is just trying to hit it, and then finally she is like, son of a bitch.
26:29
SPEAKER_04: And this must be like the magic words.
26:31
SPEAKER_04: Maybe it's not abracadabra, maybe the magic words are son of a bitch.
26:36
SPEAKER_02: If that was the case, my life would not be the way it is right now.
26:39
SPEAKER_02: I'm just throwing it out there.
26:41
SPEAKER_04: Well, maybe you're just asking for the wrong things when you say son of a bitch.
26:47
SPEAKER_02: Okay, fair.
26:54
SPEAKER_04: She actually hit uh according to Lostpedia, she actually hit it eight times, which eight is one of the numbers.
27:02
SPEAKER_04: And then we got a flash of white, noise of an explosion, and the episode ends.
27:09
SPEAKER_04: And the credits.
27:10
SPEAKER_04: Yes, but you know how at the end of the episode it's always like lost, and then like black, but it was white.
27:22
SPEAKER_04: It was white again.
27:23
SPEAKER_02: Okay, which is different.
27:26
SPEAKER_02: I'm just saying, like the white light of an explosion.
27:32
SPEAKER_02: I'm just mocking, I'm gonna mock you the whole episode.
27:35
SPEAKER_04: Alright.
27:36
SPEAKER_02: It's fun.
27:37
SPEAKER_02: I need a little joy in my life, you know.
27:42
SPEAKER_04: According to Lost Pedia, when the the episode is, you know, is part one and part two, but different streaming services have a different ways.
28:00
SPEAKER_04: So um Hulu offers separate edits for the incident, part one and two, that omit a section of the scenes with Rose and Bernard.
28:09
SPEAKER_04: And they also swap the placement of two John scenes, most notably his flashback with Jacob, which is moved by nearly a half hour into the second half of the finale.
28:20
SPEAKER_04: Oh, we forgot to talk about that one.
28:22
SPEAKER_04: I for hold on, I forgot all about that.
28:25
SPEAKER_04: She all right, locks and like yes, yeah.
28:32
SPEAKER_04: We see Jacob sitting on a bench reading a book, and lo and behold, out you hear the crash, and here comes John falling out of the window after he was pushed out by Anthony Cooper.
28:47
SPEAKER_04: Um, everyone is, you know, running.
28:50
SPEAKER_04: You know, the bystanders, everybody, they're all running to uh Locke.
28:54
SPEAKER_04: Jacob calmly closes his book and approaches John.
28:57
SPEAKER_04: John appears to be like dead, and then Jacob touches his touches him on the shoulder.
29:04
SPEAKER_04: Locke gasps and opens his eyes.
29:06
SPEAKER_04: Jacob tells him everyone will be alright, and he is sorry this has happened.
29:11
SPEAKER_04: I completely forgot about Locke's flashback.
29:16
SPEAKER_04: Um, and then so this is this is also like trivia and notes and stuff from the last two episodes, you know, part one and part two, since we didn't do it last time.
29:30
SPEAKER_04: This is the first time that the cabin has been seen in the daytime.
29:37
SPEAKER_04: Um Richard's response to the question, what lies in the shadow of the statue, could also translate to he who will protect us, save us all.
29:51
SPEAKER_04: And more accurate translations might be either the man who will serve us all or that which will serve us all.
30:03
SPEAKER_04: Um according to the enhanced version of this episode, the intended translation is he who will save us all.
30:14
SPEAKER_04: As you probably should have noticed, Jacob physically touches each of the oceanic 15 survivors he visits in the flashbacks, along with the other characters.
30:27
SPEAKER_04: Kate and Sawyer as children, Jack, Loc, Jin, and Sun are all touched years before Flight A 15.
30:37
SPEAKER_04: Hurley and Saeed are touched by Jacob after having left the island, and Ben is touched after stabbing Jacob.
30:45
SPEAKER_04: The only flashback scene in which Jacob does not appear is the one with Juliet.
30:51
SPEAKER_04: The items the police officer gives back to Hurley when he gets released are money, a pen, and candy.
31:00
SPEAKER_04: And those are the same things that Jacob gave to Kate, Sawyer, and Jack.
31:06
SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's weird.
31:08
SPEAKER_04: I think it's just a nice little oyster egg, but it could also have a deeper meaning.
31:18
SPEAKER_04: But I can't quite determine.
31:21
SPEAKER_01: I can't confirm or deny, which means you're confirming.
31:24
SPEAKER_01: Alright, fine, fuck you.
31:26
SPEAKER_04: But it's just it's just a guess on my part, but I can't ruminate on it because you don't know what it will refer to.
31:33
SPEAKER_03: Fine.
31:35
SPEAKER_04: This is the first finale in which a living credited main character does not appear, and that would be Desmond.
31:45
SPEAKER_02: I thought I noticed that.
31:48
SPEAKER_02: I noticed that.
31:49
SPEAKER_02: I'm like, hmm.
31:51
SPEAKER_02: He got paid to stay home that day.
31:53
SPEAKER_02: Nice.
31:57
SPEAKER_04: This is the first finale since season one to end on the island.
32:04
SPEAKER_04: And for the second season finale in a row, Ben stabbed someone to death.
32:11
SPEAKER_02: Before it was.
32:52
SPEAKER_04: It looks good.
32:52
SPEAKER_04: It looks healthy.
32:53
SPEAKER_02: And that's and that's dry.
32:54
SPEAKER_02: Like, you know, when it's wet, it always looks shiny.
32:56
SPEAKER_02: This has already been dry.
32:57
SPEAKER_02: So I'm like, oh, this is pretty.
32:58
SPEAKER_02: Let's see what happens after I unroll it.
33:01
SPEAKER_02: I trimmed my hair too.
33:02
SPEAKER_02: Like as I was rolling it, I just took the and cut off the dead ends.
33:07
SPEAKER_02: Give myself a little layered feather cut.
33:10
SPEAKER_02: Um, hey Lisa.
33:12
SPEAKER_04: Oh, yeah.
33:14
SPEAKER_02: Did you hear the one about Midas and Oedipus?
33:17
unknown: No.
33:18
SPEAKER_02: These were to say no.
33:20
unknown: Okay.
33:22
SPEAKER_04: Sorry, no, I haven't.
33:24
SPEAKER_02: It was motherfucking goad.
33:35
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
33:36
SPEAKER_04: Uh I've been waiting all day to tell you that joke.
33:42
SPEAKER_04: Oh, wait a minute.
33:43
SPEAKER_04: It says that the closing title appears as black text on white background in transition with the white flash.
33:49
SPEAKER_04: This is the first and only time a color inverted title has been used.
33:53
SPEAKER_02: But it was used before.
33:55
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, didn't they do that at the end of season?
33:59
SPEAKER_04: No, when they when they moved the island or something.
34:02
SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
34:02
SPEAKER_02: I yeah.
34:03
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, because I remember you mentioned it.
34:05
SPEAKER_02: I don't remember when you mentioned it, but you mentioned it.
34:07
SPEAKER_04: Right.
34:08
SPEAKER_02: I think it was like the end of season four.
34:11
SPEAKER_04: Or was it ends?
34:13
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, like, but did they maybe not didn't maybe not say lost?
34:18
SPEAKER_04: Maybe it was just a white screen.
34:21
SPEAKER_04: Because I remember it being white before.
34:24
SPEAKER_04: But maybe I don't know.
34:25
SPEAKER_04: Maybe there's gonna do something.
34:28
SPEAKER_04: Go ahead.
34:29
SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna do some um when was the island moved for, right?
34:36
SPEAKER_04: Uh-huh.
34:38
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, the other four.
34:39
SPEAKER_04: Because that was the only way to save them from the freighter people or whatever.
34:44
SPEAKER_04: And then season five was all about how do we get well, you know, how do we get back?
34:50
SPEAKER_04: And and then the moving the island is what caused the time shifts.
34:55
SPEAKER_04: It says this is the first time Kate's life before she went on the run has been shown in the show.
35:03
SPEAKER_04: And it says previously her earliest flashback took place when she killed her father, but that's not true.
35:09
SPEAKER_04: Because re didn't, I mean, that whole thing with uh what was his name?
35:15
SPEAKER_04: Tom Tommy, I think, and the airplane, and didn't we see them as kids with it?
35:24
SPEAKER_04: Am I making shit up?
35:29
SPEAKER_04: Remember, Kate had that toy airplane?
35:35
SPEAKER_04: Like way, way back in like season one.
35:39
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, vaguely.
35:41
SPEAKER_04: I could have sworn we saw the flashbacks about like him giving it to her or something.
35:49
SPEAKER_04: Kate's toy airplane was a small model airplane that is one of Kate's most prized possessions, being a symbol of her relationship with Tom Brennan.
35:58
SPEAKER_04: The airplane was found in Ed Edward Marr's case after the crash.
36:09
SPEAKER_04: Oh, it says it was placed in their time capsule, then retrieved many years later when they were adults.
36:18
SPEAKER_04: Because I'm like, I know okay, now I'm remembering that.
36:26
SPEAKER_04: No, but it says it was it says he was seen playing with it during Kate's attempt to steal a lunchbox in Born to Run.
36:37
SPEAKER_04: And then in the incident.
36:39
SPEAKER_04: So Kate and Tom bury the plane in a Tom capsule in Born to Run.
36:47
SPEAKER_04: I knew we had seen it before.
36:53
SPEAKER_04: Thank you.
36:54
SPEAKER_02: Okay, I can't read it.
36:56
unknown: Oh.
36:57
SPEAKER_04: So yeah, no, no, it's fine.
36:58
SPEAKER_04: I just I just literally looked up Kate's toy plane.
37:01
SPEAKER_02: No, I was looking at it like the the inverted lost thing.
37:06
SPEAKER_04: Okay.
37:07
SPEAKER_01: But too much work.
37:09
SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
37:10
SPEAKER_04: Okay.
37:11
SPEAKER_04: Um, so yeah, I don't know if that note is actually right.
37:18
SPEAKER_04: The scene in the underground tunnel where Said dismantles the bomb was filmed with a second unit, while the first unit filmed the nighttime scene at the foot of the statue.
37:30
SPEAKER_04: Since Nestor Carbonell, who plays Richard Alpert, appeared in both scenes, and the the two locations were several hours apart.
37:39
SPEAKER_04: So one had to shoot as much as they could without him until he got there.
37:44
SPEAKER_04: That must have been rough for him.
37:45
SPEAKER_04: Like, you know, it's one thing, okay, you shoot over there, we'll shoot over here, but then you need the same person on each.
37:52
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's kind of crazy.
37:55
SPEAKER_02: I mean, at least it was several hours and like real time and not like walking through a jungle, a jungle time, like just jumping, you know.
38:05
SPEAKER_02: I think, wow, seven hours or check into the jungle?
38:08
SPEAKER_02: Like, wait, no, Agnes, what the fuck is wrong with you?
38:10
SPEAKER_02: Um, that's not how it works.
38:15
SPEAKER_01: I had a moment.
38:17
SPEAKER_04: It says, in an Easter egg on the season five DVD set, an outline of this episode is seen on a whiteboard.
38:24
SPEAKER_04: It contains a different final scene.
38:26
SPEAKER_04: After Juliet hits the jug head, the people at the Swan site were to be seen enveloped by white light.
38:32
SPEAKER_04: The episode would then cut to Richard watching the explosion of Jughead or of the Jughead from a distance.
38:40
SPEAKER_04: The unused scene seems to explain why Richard later said he's seen everyone present at the detonation die.
38:53
SPEAKER_02: What did I say?
38:54
SPEAKER_02: Envelope.
38:57
SPEAKER_02: Oh.
38:57
SPEAKER_02: It spelt the same way though.
38:59
SPEAKER_04: No, I know I I mean I do know the both words.
39:01
SPEAKER_04: I guess I didn't realize it.
39:04
SPEAKER_04: Because I'm like, it didn't taste wrong on the way out, so I didn't catch it.
39:09
SPEAKER_04: Sometimes words just taste wrong.
39:11
SPEAKER_02: No, I'm laughing because I know what you meant when you said that.
39:14
SPEAKER_02: Like I know what she means.
39:17
SPEAKER_02: So sometimes I just okay.
39:24
SPEAKER_02: I'm not gonna look at them bloopers, I don't really care.
39:27
SPEAKER_02: That just made so much sense.
39:28
SPEAKER_02: That's why it was so funny.
39:29
SPEAKER_02: Like, yeah, you know what I'm gonna do after we get done working today?
39:33
SPEAKER_02: Oh what?
39:34
SPEAKER_02: And before I do my family Zoom call, I'm going to Dunkin' Donuts and get some munchkin's.
39:41
SPEAKER_02: Oh, that sounds good.
39:45
SPEAKER_02: Do you ever wonder?
39:47
SPEAKER_02: Like, if someone like what was that movie with Jim Carrey?
39:50
SPEAKER_02: Like, if your life was like an actual TV show?
39:52
SPEAKER_02: The Truman show?
39:53
SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
39:54
SPEAKER_02: Yes, how would like I don't know.
39:57
SPEAKER_02: Would I be a good would it be a good show?
39:59
SPEAKER_02: Would I be disappointing?
40:00
SPEAKER_02: Would it be would it be a drama, a dramedy, a thriller?
40:05
SPEAKER_04: Like, I just it would be a sad documentary.
40:11
SPEAKER_02: Like psychological thriller.
40:13
SPEAKER_02: Like, I try to all right.
40:16
SPEAKER_04: Let's talk about themes, black and white, which has been, you know, one of the biggest themes in the show.
40:23
SPEAKER_04: At the beginning of the episode.
40:25
SPEAKER_04: There you go.
40:27
SPEAKER_04: At the beginning of the episode, Jacob is wearing white and his brother is wearing black.
40:35
SPEAKER_04: Son's wedding dress is white, Jin's tuxedo is black.
40:40
SPEAKER_04: Uh they say, like, when Jacob is talking to Ben, half of his face is shadowed.
40:44
SPEAKER_04: That's a trick that they do a lot.
40:49
SPEAKER_04: And then the title.
40:52
SPEAKER_04: Um, usually white lettering on black is inverted.
40:58
SPEAKER_04: We've got the fate versus free will.
41:01
SPEAKER_04: Jacob tells Ben he has a choice.
41:04
SPEAKER_04: Wait, did I say that right?
41:06
SPEAKER_04: Jacob Jacob tells Ben he has a choice.
41:08
SPEAKER_04: He tells her.
41:11
SPEAKER_04: Um, Juliet believes her love for Sawyer is never meant to be because of his affection for Kate.
41:16
SPEAKER_04: I've I really like feel so bad for them in this episode.
41:23
SPEAKER_04: Because they make such a good couple.
41:29
SPEAKER_04: They really, really do.
41:33
SPEAKER_02: Well, they say everyone has a couple of things.
41:35
SPEAKER_02: They say that everyone has a soulmate.
41:38
SPEAKER_02: They never said A, you actually meet your soulmate, or B, it will last forever.
41:47
SPEAKER_02: I'm a little pessimistic.
41:48
SPEAKER_02: I'm a little ad today.
41:51
SPEAKER_04: But yeah, no, no.
41:52
SPEAKER_04: So I just yeah, that that one that one always gets to me.
42:00
SPEAKER_04: Especially when she's like, if I never have to meet you, I never have to lose you.
42:04
SPEAKER_04: It's like, oh um.
42:25
SPEAKER_04: And Jack says, if it's meant to be, it's meant to be.
42:30
SPEAKER_02: I mean, I guess.
42:35
SPEAKER_04: The biggest illustration of fate versus free will is the detonation of the jug head.
42:41
SPEAKER_04: Is it possible for the time-shifting survivors to change the timeline, or is it the case of whatever happened, happened?
42:49
SPEAKER_04: What do you think?
42:51
SPEAKER_04: Like, I know you kind of mentioned it, but but like elaborate on it a little bit more.
42:58
SPEAKER_04: Let's go back to what I said earlier.
43:00
SPEAKER_04: Right.
43:00
SPEAKER_04: That's what I'm saying.
43:02
SPEAKER_02: No, no, no.
43:02
SPEAKER_02: And this is where you're gonna put in what I said earlier again.
43:05
SPEAKER_02: And if you're gonna edit, you're gonna copy and paste it again until you edits.
43:10
SPEAKER_02: It was a joke, never mind.
43:13
SPEAKER_02: Over your head.
43:15
SPEAKER_02: Okay, over okay.
43:17
SPEAKER_04: Um, I don't know, I don't think else to because you you said that they're gonna somehow like still find each other, but but do you think that like I don't know.
43:32
SPEAKER_04: I guess I'm just looking for more for you to kind of flesh out that thought a little bit more.
43:40
SPEAKER_02: That's all I have.
43:41
SPEAKER_02: I don't I am working with the skeletal system, I don't have the muscles and the tendons in the flesh.
43:46
SPEAKER_02: This that's just somehow they're just I don't, and I think in TV land, I think is all destiny in real life.
43:54
SPEAKER_02: I couldn't even tell you what I think.
43:56
SPEAKER_02: I think it's so yeah, but then in Lost World, I think somehow it works, but it doesn't work how they think is gonna work.
44:05
SPEAKER_04: Okay, but your what you said is kind of like two different things, right?
44:12
SPEAKER_02: Because that's about right.
44:14
SPEAKER_04: If it's if it's um like let's say this uh resets.
44:25
SPEAKER_04: Everything, then yes, they will still be strangers, they will land, they will whatever.
44:33
SPEAKER_04: But as we know, right, like we talked about, the hand is still gone.
44:41
SPEAKER_04: You know, maybe this was all what was supposed to happen, so to speak.
44:46
SPEAKER_04: And so will the plane just crash on the island again?
44:52
SPEAKER_04: And is that how they end up back on the island?
44:55
SPEAKER_02: I think I don't know.
44:56
SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
44:57
SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
44:58
SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
44:59
SPEAKER_02: I think they go, okay, in lost in lost fashion.
45:04
SPEAKER_02: I think the possibility of them landing in LAX, but end up somewhere else and crashing on the island that's not it's in a different location.
45:12
SPEAKER_04: Like it's crash on a different island, okay.
45:14
SPEAKER_02: Like, like it's a different, it's like it's still the island, but it's not in the same spot it was on that journey.
45:22
SPEAKER_02: Like it's not from Australia to LA.
45:23
SPEAKER_02: You know, it's I don't fucking know.
45:26
SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
45:26
SPEAKER_02: My head hurts now.
45:27
SPEAKER_04: Um that's okay.
45:30
SPEAKER_02: Uh, here we go.
45:31
SPEAKER_02: This is memories of season one and two where you just just we're trying to figure out lost made my head hurt.
45:41
SPEAKER_04: So as as oh, go ahead.
45:43
SPEAKER_02: And to be fair, I can't drink caffeine anymore.
45:47
SPEAKER_02: I really shouldn't be drinking caffeine, like it makes me feel not well.
45:51
SPEAKER_02: So I'm on decaf coffee, and I don't know how I feel about that.
45:55
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I don't know how I feel about that either.
45:57
SPEAKER_02: I mean it tastes, it's I make it right.
46:00
SPEAKER_02: It's so, but I'm just like, I have a headache.
46:04
SPEAKER_04: Why don't you put like a little like half calf just to help wean?
46:10
SPEAKER_02: I try that, but even the caffeine that just having I'm sure having the little even decaf has some caffeine in it, but it's just it just it makes my head wonky, my heart, it's just my body just is like, no bitch, you old now, and we're gonna just do shit to fuck with your body and the things that you enjoy.
46:31
SPEAKER_02: We're coming after your caffeine.
46:35
SPEAKER_02: Next, your carbs, and that's when I'm gonna be really aggregate.
46:38
SPEAKER_02: Oh god, yeah, right.
46:40
SPEAKER_02: Um, so yeah, I don't I don't know.
46:42
SPEAKER_02: I don't have anything else.
46:43
SPEAKER_02: I don't I have no other fleshing out to do with that thought because I was just kind of like out my I pulled that thought out my ass.
46:50
SPEAKER_04: Well, I'm gonna tell you this.
46:52
SPEAKER_04: You're gonna have to work on it for a recap episode.
46:55
SPEAKER_04: No, yes, okay.
46:57
SPEAKER_02: I mean, I say no, but I'm really not allowed to say no.
47:00
SPEAKER_02: Apparently, she doesn't know.
47:02
SPEAKER_02: Apparently, Lisa failed to know what happened in 1865, so just abuse me.
47:14
SPEAKER_02: I love that.
47:15
SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
47:16
SPEAKER_02: One, two, and three.
47:20
SPEAKER_04: And four.
47:22
SPEAKER_04: Oh, I love that.
47:24
SPEAKER_00: I wish people would, I wish people could hear us.
47:26
SPEAKER_04: I mean, but they can't see us.
47:28
SPEAKER_02: I wish they could see us.
47:29
SPEAKER_02: Well, no, you can't see us today.
47:31
SPEAKER_02: We would not be posting any clips of this episode.
47:34
SPEAKER_04: I I just came in from like being outside and pulling weeds and and shit, so I'm kind of filthy.
47:42
SPEAKER_04: Oh, some people might like that.
47:45
SPEAKER_04: So, anyway, as as we can now see, now we have met Jacob, he is in fact a real person.
47:54
SPEAKER_02: He's a god, he's not he's not a real person.
47:56
SPEAKER_02: Like Richard's a real person.
47:58
SPEAKER_04: I was gonna say, or is he because like Richard, Jacob does not seem to age.
48:06
SPEAKER_02: He is a god, and Richard makes Richard a god.
48:11
SPEAKER_02: He's maybe a semigod, a demigod demigod.
48:14
SPEAKER_02: I mean, he's still magical and powerful.
48:18
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, because it's very it gives me very cane and able vibes between Jacob and the other dude.
48:25
SPEAKER_02: Maybe that's what they are.
48:26
SPEAKER_02: Maybe that's who they are, Cain and Abel.
48:28
SPEAKER_02: And they just changed their names for the purpose of they're in like angel protection agency, and they had to change their name.
48:38
SPEAKER_02: So they're with sec, they're like angel sec.
48:45
SPEAKER_04: Maybe you are onto some new trend.
48:49
SPEAKER_02: Oh fuck it all.
48:55
SPEAKER_04: And so is is he passing on his godlike powers when he touches people?
49:01
SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
49:02
SPEAKER_02: That's too much, that's just too much thinking involved.
49:06
unknown: Okay.
49:08
SPEAKER_02: I don't know, didn't think about that.
49:09
SPEAKER_02: I would think about it for the recap episode.
49:14
SPEAKER_02: And this is when the voiceover says, no, she will not think about it because she would have forgotten to.
49:22
SPEAKER_04: Um wait, I just like I just had something, and now I'm like, wait.
49:33
SPEAKER_04: Fuck.
49:35
SPEAKER_04: Maybe later.
49:41
SPEAKER_00: Another one went over her head.
49:43
SPEAKER_04: I said I guess.
49:45
SPEAKER_00: You said, oh fuck.
49:46
SPEAKER_00: I said, well, maybe later.
49:52
SPEAKER_01: Oh, slay me.
49:58
SPEAKER_04: It was something about Jacob.
50:02
SPEAKER_02: You say yes, now that we know he is a man or is he?
50:06
SPEAKER_04: Right, no, and it was it was something about him being in the fire.
50:10
SPEAKER_04: Oh, when he says they're coming.
50:16
SPEAKER_02: There's somebody else.
50:17
SPEAKER_02: It's not the it's not the losty 2.0, it's something else.
50:23
SPEAKER_02: They're coming.
50:24
SPEAKER_02: They're here.
50:26
SPEAKER_02: Um it's it's I don't know who they are, but it's something else.
50:35
SPEAKER_04: So in the beginning of the episode, when there the the two men are sitting, he says, Um, you know, with the black rock, the the ship, and he's like, You brought it.
50:47
SPEAKER_04: He's like, they come, they fight, they destroy, they corrupt.
50:52
SPEAKER_04: It always ends the same.
50:55
SPEAKER_02: Mankind.
50:57
SPEAKER_04: Jacob disagrees and claims that there is only one ending.
51:01
SPEAKER_04: Everything else is progress.
51:06
SPEAKER_04: I know that you are not like a losty, but that's one of like the best quotes in the whole show.
51:13
SPEAKER_04: It only ends once, everything else is progress.
51:17
SPEAKER_02: Okay.
51:20
SPEAKER_02: Actually, that's quite okay.
51:25
SPEAKER_02: That's just that's just life.
51:29
SPEAKER_02: It only ends once, everything else is progress.
51:33
SPEAKER_02: That just pretty much sums up the human race.
51:36
SPEAKER_02: That that whole scene just sums up the human race.
51:41
SPEAKER_04: The statue is called uh Tawaret.
51:46
SPEAKER_04: Um I don't know if I'm pronouncing that right.
51:49
SPEAKER_04: Tawaret, T-A-W-E-R-E-T.
51:53
SPEAKER_04: So the demon wife of Apep, the original god of evil.
52:00
SPEAKER_04: She was also seen as the Egyptian deity of protection in pregnancy and childbirth.
52:06
SPEAKER_04: Maybe that has something to do with, you know, the statue crumbled, and then women can't get pregnant.
52:12
SPEAKER_02: Or the fact that she was the demon wife of whatever, and then she was also the goddess of pregnancy and childbirth.
52:21
SPEAKER_02: I that should tell you something about because I think that's a little bit like oh it all makes sense now.
52:31
unknown: The pig.
52:33
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
52:37
SPEAKER_04: This is also reminiscent, the whole, you know, Jacob and the other guy says he can't kill him.
52:48
SPEAKER_04: Where it's reminiscent about Ben and Whidmore.
52:51
SPEAKER_04: Remember the rules, they they can't kill each other.
52:54
SPEAKER_04: Right.
52:58
SPEAKER_02: But whose rules were those?
52:59
SPEAKER_02: Did they ever say they never said that, did they?
53:02
SPEAKER_04: Not so far.
53:05
SPEAKER_04: So it says the season finale, this season finale continues the tradition of having an explosion of significant plot element.
53:14
SPEAKER_04: Season one, the hatch, and then the second raft.
53:17
SPEAKER_04: Season two, the Swan Station, season three, the looking glass, season four, the kahana, and season five, the swan station again, and arguably time itself.
53:34
SPEAKER_04: What do you think season six is gonna end on?
53:38
SPEAKER_02: Lord have mercy.
53:39
SPEAKER_02: Who knows?
53:42
SPEAKER_02: Like, I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up in my living room.
53:44
SPEAKER_02: I'm like, wait, what?
53:45
SPEAKER_02: Like platfist!
53:50
SPEAKER_04: Um, and what do you think is in the guitar case?
53:55
SPEAKER_02: I see I thought it was a guitar, but I mean well, um it it's silly me.
54:00
SPEAKER_04: Okay, so then if it is a guitar, whose guitar is it?
54:04
SPEAKER_04: Why is there a guitar in the case?
54:06
SPEAKER_04: And if it's not a guitar, what is it?
54:08
SPEAKER_02: I have absolutely no idea.
54:10
SPEAKER_02: Well, honestly, I didn't I didn't think about it legit until you just asked me.
54:15
SPEAKER_02: Because it was like, okay, guitar, like okay, Hurley has his guitar case.
54:18
SPEAKER_02: You're great.
54:19
SPEAKER_02: He has a guitar, you know, but he was so protective over it.
54:22
SPEAKER_02: And obviously it was a gift from Jacob or Jacob's brother.
54:27
SPEAKER_02: Who knows?
54:27
SPEAKER_02: I don't even know if that's actually Jacob touching, but you know, who knows?
54:30
SPEAKER_02: It might have been Jacob, might have been his brother.
54:33
SPEAKER_02: Uh anyway, I don't know.
54:36
SPEAKER_02: Off the drugs.
54:37
SPEAKER_02: Um, no idea.
54:39
SPEAKER_02: No idea.
54:40
SPEAKER_02: That's gonna be something I'm gonna have to think about for the next episode.
54:45
SPEAKER_04: The next episode, the next chronological episode will be season six, episode one, LAS.
54:53
SPEAKER_02: Well, our recap, our next episode, right?
54:56
SPEAKER_02: Assassin's Sips next episode.
54:58
SPEAKER_04: Yes, we will be doing a recap.
55:00
SPEAKER_04: We also have a special bonus episode for you guys, something a little different, something a little fun, something a little juicy.
55:12
SPEAKER_04: Um, so that that will drop also, and then as you guys know, we always do fan favorite with our favorite fan, except he's very, very busy right now.
55:25
SPEAKER_01: He's he is a productive adult.
55:28
SPEAKER_04: He really is.
55:29
SPEAKER_01: Um, so yeah, so unlike us.
55:33
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we still plan to do a recording with him for season five, but um, we're we are really trying to get that on the books.
55:44
SPEAKER_04: The only thing is that it just may not come out for a couple of weeks after this season, you know, this season, like it may come out a couple of weeks into season six, but we're we're we're trying.
56:00
SPEAKER_04: We're trying.
56:01
SPEAKER_02: But I'm excited for what we have coming.
56:03
SPEAKER_02: They're surprises.
56:05
SPEAKER_04: You guys need to go show him some love on his socials, but also remind him that you want him to come and record with us.
56:16
SPEAKER_02: So my god, the guilt.
56:18
SPEAKER_02: Oh my god, Lisa.
56:20
SPEAKER_04: Shameless.
56:21
SPEAKER_04: We're talking about you know exactly how to find him on his socials.
56:26
SPEAKER_04: Go tell him you want to hear him record with us.
56:31
SPEAKER_02: I do not condone such behavior.
56:34
SPEAKER_02: Go ahead and do it.
56:35
SPEAKER_02: Um, such shameless guilt.
56:41
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think I know what that's that's our superpowers as mothers.
56:46
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
56:48
SPEAKER_04: And I'm part Italian, so that's that's that's that's almost up there with like Jewish guilt.
56:54
SPEAKER_04: I mean, right.
56:54
SPEAKER_04: I was gonna say that, but I was like, can I say that?
56:57
SPEAKER_02: But I mean that in like the most complementary way.
57:01
SPEAKER_02: It's a skill, okay?
57:03
SPEAKER_02: It's a seriously skill, it's an art and a science.
57:07
SPEAKER_02: Like it's just not, it's just not yes, it's not black and white, it's a it's an art to it.
57:11
SPEAKER_02: And I'm just like, oh, be still my heart.
57:15
SPEAKER_02: It was so cute.
57:16
SPEAKER_02: I remember when I was working in retail, and this little lady, she was so cute, it was obviously off season, and she goes, Do you she was like, I know you probably don't, but you guys have any more swimsuits?
57:29
SPEAKER_02: And I said, Oive, I don't know.
57:32
SPEAKER_02: Let's see what we find.
57:33
SPEAKER_02: And she goes, What do you know about Oive?
57:35
SPEAKER_02: I said, I'm a New Yorker.
57:36
SPEAKER_02: She was like, Ah, that's a girl.
57:39
SPEAKER_00: And I've never felt such so loved by a stranger and accepted by a simple like statement.
57:51
SPEAKER_00: Oh, sorry.
57:54
SPEAKER_04: Sassinsips.com.
57:56
SPEAKER_02: That's us.
57:58
SPEAKER_04: Find us there, support us there.
58:00
SPEAKER_04: Please.
58:02
SPEAKER_04: Yes.
58:03
SPEAKER_04: And don't drink and drive, drink responsibly.
58:07
SPEAKER_04: Tell Jamar.
58:09
SPEAKER_04: You can't wait to hear him come and discuss season five because we always love his tape.
58:14
SPEAKER_04: And until next time, I'm Lisa.
58:18
SPEAKER_02: And I'm Agnes.
58:20
SPEAKER_04: And we are out of here.
58:22
SPEAKER_02: See you later.
58:23
SPEAKER_02: Bye.
58:31
SPEAKER_04: I was thinking, right, like if we do Sassin Sips after dark, I feel like we should have a gimmick.
58:38
SPEAKER_04: Like oh my gosh.
58:41
unknown: Not that.
58:42
unknown: Okay.
58:42
SPEAKER_04: Well, not that one.
58:43
SPEAKER_04: I just knocked everything down.
58:45
SPEAKER_04: No, a gimmick, like, uh, will we have like like what kind of crazy makeup will we be wearing?
58:53
SPEAKER_04: Or what's the color lipstick of the day?
58:58
SPEAKER_04: Or what's the color?
59:01
SPEAKER_04: I'm like, what weird hairstyle are we gonna do?
59:05
SPEAKER_04: What sexy pajama will we be wearing?
59:08
SPEAKER_04: Like, I don't know.
59:09
SPEAKER_02: Just um next.
59:14
SPEAKER_02: She lost me on that one.
59:16
SPEAKER_02: That's okay.
59:17
SPEAKER_02: You understand what I'm trying to say though?
59:20
SPEAKER_02: I do, but if I if I if I so if I say yes to everything you want to do, what fun would that be?
59:26
SPEAKER_02: Okay.
59:26
SPEAKER_02: I could give you a hard time a little bit.
59:29
SPEAKER_02: No, that's fine.
59:30
SPEAKER_04: I just want to make sure at least you understood what I'm, you know.
