- 1:04Speaker 1: We love your five star ratings interviews. Keep them coming.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Before we talk about Ride, I need to issue an
- 1:09Speaker 1: apology to what a Blanket Girl's Gone homework apology wait
- 1:13Speaker 1: on my behalf to unfortunately yet go ahead to one
- 1:19Speaker 1: miss Aaron craco Oh's name. We have butchered many many
- 1:23Speaker 1: times on this show without even in my case, thinking
- 1:28Speaker 1: that I could possibly be saying it wrong. There are
- 1:30Speaker 1: names that I'm certain I'm getting wrong. Never occurred to
- 1:33Speaker 1: me that I was getting her name wrong once crack Ow.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Does it sound right to you? Or it does sound
- 1:37Speaker 1: okay to you? Yeah? Sure, I know, I know, terrible Barker.
- 1:41Speaker 1: I do not judge anyone's last name. Do you know
- 1:43Speaker 1: what it's like to be a kid with a last
- 1:45Speaker 1: name Barker? Give me a break. Shout out to our
- 1:47Speaker 1: Facebook group who schooled us that it is Cracow crat Cow.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Am I seeing it right? Creco Craco like Gretco but Keiko?
- 1:56Speaker 1: Oh my, I can't. Oh god, I'm gonna need a
- 1:59Speaker 1: phonetic spelling in front of me. It's like nil materer
- 2:01Speaker 1: all over again. I know, I know. For the penetic
- 2:04Speaker 1: pronunciation in the Facebook group, we appreciate you. I thought
- 2:07Speaker 1: you were giving a blanket apology for our review of
- 2:10Speaker 1: the Wedding Cottage because I was off my rocker on
- 2:14Speaker 1: that episode. Wait do you hear the long story short
- 2:17Speaker 1: episode that calls out tomorrow? That's had us?
- 2:20Speaker 2: Oh no, no, no, yeah, I sounded absolutely manic, and
- 2:29Speaker 2: my apologies to everybody.
- 2:31Speaker 1: I really don't think so. But Girls Gone Hallmark brought
- 2:33Speaker 1: to you by jet Lag. You want to talk some ratings. Yeah,
- 2:41Speaker 1: So this past weekends Hallmark offerings, Wedding Cottage came in
- 2:47Speaker 1: at nearly two million viewers, which is a great showing
- 2:50Speaker 1: for a Hallmark movie. We always see like a little
- 2:53Speaker 1: bit of a lull, like January does really well and
- 2:55Speaker 1: then things kind of go like but Aaron Craik and
- 2:59Speaker 1: Brendon Penny The Heat and Ride experienced an uptick in
- 3:04Speaker 1: viewership with about the same percent of the key demo.
- 3:09Speaker 1: They had one point one plus million viewers on Sunday.
- 3:13Speaker 1: I gotta say I'm kind of surprised by that number
- 3:17Speaker 1: wheny's a hater and cannot possibly imagine anybody enjoying this show.
- 3:20Speaker 1: I will be honest with everybody. I really don't enjoy
- 3:24Speaker 1: this show. Like it does nothing for me. I don't
- 3:28Speaker 1: get excited about watching it. So it's so I'm not
- 3:30Speaker 1: going to come with my reviews as like with the
- 3:33Speaker 1: Hater Raid, but I just don't enjoy it. It's not
- 3:37Speaker 1: for me. That's okay, I like it. We're gonna need
- 3:42Speaker 1: to dig into that a little bit because I need
- 3:45Speaker 1: to know what you like about it Whenny's like, nothing's happening.
- 3:48Speaker 1: And here's why that is exactly. My first note on
- 3:51Speaker 1: my notes in front of Me says, my biggest complaint
- 3:54Speaker 1: is nothing happening is happening in the show Nothing. I
- 3:57Speaker 1: think there's so much establishment of care and place in
- 4:01Speaker 1: the first season of any show, especially like a drama
- 4:05Speaker 1: like this, that I don't think that's terribly uncommon. I don't.
- 4:09Speaker 1: It's fine that you haven't bought into them. I enjoyed
- 4:12Speaker 1: this family. I enjoy seeing where it's gonna go. I
- 4:15Speaker 1: mildly interested in these characters. It's not the first show
- 4:18Speaker 1: I turn on every week, but I'm not upset that
- 4:21Speaker 1: I have to turn it on and watch it week
- 4:23Speaker 1: after week. Well, I am definitely opposite of you. Okay,
- 4:27Speaker 1: So if you're unhappy about that, you can send your
- 4:30Speaker 1: emails to Megan and Wendy at Gmail. And I would
- 4:33Speaker 1: look back at the way home and tell you how
- 4:36Speaker 1: many episodes it took for them to finally get to
- 4:39Speaker 1: anything actually happening, like getting to the carnival, getting to
- 4:42Speaker 1: all of that. That's fine, but they built so much
- 4:46Speaker 1: suspense intention from episode one this nothing I have nothing,
- 4:52Speaker 1: Nothing is like where want for the past year. I
- 4:56Speaker 1: don't care and secret I just I don't care. I
- 5:01Speaker 1: don't care. I'm sorry. Well, let's hear a synopsis of Estella. Okay,
- 5:07Speaker 1: it's Isabelle's birthday period, Missy and Gus get closer, which
- 5:11Speaker 1: she agrees to give his niece a tour of the ranch,
- 5:13Speaker 1: and Valeria tries to work her way into the ranch
- 5:17Speaker 1: hand Boys Club via their traditional poker game. Let's start
- 5:21Speaker 1: with the beginning of that synopsis, with it being Isabelle's birthday.
- 5:23Speaker 1: This episode was sold as being about Isabelle's birthday. I
- 5:28Speaker 1: would argue, first, let's tell the listeners this is gonna
- 5:32Speaker 1: sound a little bit different than our topic ride recaps. Yeah,
- 5:34Speaker 1: because you dies didn't like it before. Abslutely true. Let's
- 5:39Speaker 1: dial it way back. Okay, there's been a lot of
- 5:42Speaker 1: discussion about what we're gonna do next, like what are
- 5:46Speaker 1: we going to do after ride and what do you
- 5:48Speaker 1: want to see from specifically the Facebook group that's like
- 5:50Speaker 1: our focus group in there. We got a lot of feedback,
- 5:55Speaker 1: and we got an email from a friend of ours
- 5:58Speaker 1: and a listener of our show who suggested that maybe
- 6:01Speaker 1: the reason people didn't want more recaps from us was
- 6:05Speaker 1: that they don't like the recap format. And she didn't
- 6:07Speaker 1: come right out and say I don't like the recap format. Well,
- 6:11Speaker 1: I could read between the lines. We love you, Michelle,
- 6:16Speaker 1: And initially she said, why don't you ask the Facebook group?
- 6:19Speaker 1: And my knee jerk response was I'm not ready to
- 6:21Speaker 1: hurt my feelings by asking that quest. Oh my goodness.
- 6:25Speaker 1: But we did come back to it, and when it
- 6:28Speaker 1: comes down to what we want to create content that
- 6:30Speaker 1: you want, and ultimately the response was not we hate
- 6:34Speaker 1: your recaps. That's not what people said. They said, we
- 6:38Speaker 1: like listening to your podcast. Do what's fun for you,
- 6:41Speaker 1: And we kind of decided that the stuff that people
- 6:44Speaker 1: want is more of the conversation, like you could get
- 6:47Speaker 1: a recap on the internet, So we're gonna chat it up. Yeah,
- 6:52Speaker 1: all right, so let's talk Isabel's birthday. I mean, like
- 6:55Speaker 1: you said, they sold this episode as being Isabelle's birthday.
- 6:58Speaker 1: It could have just been a Tuesday. It was like
- 7:00Speaker 1: not significant to the story. I thought, Yeah, I was
- 7:05Speaker 1: waiting for some kind of big reveal, like why does
- 7:09Speaker 1: Isabelle hate her birthday? She just like the kind of
- 7:12Speaker 1: person who takes care of everyone else before she takes
- 7:14Speaker 1: care of herself. I think that's the answer here. It's
- 7:17Speaker 1: just like a character development thing, although it did give
- 7:20Speaker 1: us a vehicle to introduce Cody, who is our farrier,
- 7:25Speaker 1: which is a term that I looked up. Do you
- 7:27Speaker 1: know what a ferrier is? No idea. It's a craftsman
- 7:30Speaker 1: who shoes horses. Oh okay, played by the very handsome
- 7:34Speaker 1: James Tupper. You have nothing to say about that. I
- 7:37Speaker 1: always get James Tupper and James Denton confused, So yes,
- 7:40Speaker 1: before recording, I had to look him up to see
- 7:43Speaker 1: who I was dealing with here. So he's been in
- 7:45Speaker 1: homework movies like Mid Love Crisis, My Christmas Family Tree,
- 7:49Speaker 1: and he was in Mid Love Crisis with Terry Hatcher,
- 7:52Speaker 1: and we mistakenly reported that that was with James Denton.
- 7:56Speaker 1: They were in a movie together previously. We were wrong. Anyway,
- 8:00Speaker 1: fully imprinted on my brain as as such, like it's,
- 8:03Speaker 1: you know, like a computer chip gone bad. It's always
- 8:06Speaker 1: going to be in there now like that. I had
- 8:07Speaker 1: honestly completely forgotten about that mistake until you reminded me.
- 8:11Speaker 1: But he was also in Big Little Lies. Anyway, I
- 8:14Speaker 1: enjoyed that introduction of the character, because I get the
- 8:18Speaker 1: impression that we might be headed towards a little bit
- 8:21Speaker 1: of an Isabelle romance, I hope. So, yeah, did you
- 8:25Speaker 1: like them together? I did? It made me wonder, like,
- 8:28Speaker 1: how long has her husband been dead? She's just living
- 8:31Speaker 1: this like lonely life out there? Yeah, where their kids?
- 8:36Speaker 1: I'm excited that she's gonna have a little love interest hopefully. Yeah.
- 8:41Speaker 1: I had wondered if perhaps one mayor Gus was sweet
- 8:45Speaker 1: on Isabelle. Do we haven't seen him in a while. Oh,
- 8:48Speaker 1: we haven't seen him since last episode. I haven't seen it.
- 8:51Speaker 1: I didn't watch last episode. I was traveling. You sorry,
- 8:55Speaker 1: I haven't seen him in a while. I think that's
- 8:58Speaker 1: a mismatch too, I tell you I do too. I
- 9:01Speaker 1: don't think they're a good match. But several things that
- 9:03Speaker 1: Gus has said have led me to wonder, is this
- 9:06Speaker 1: just a long time friendship that they've had and he
- 9:09Speaker 1: supports her in that way, or has he harbored feelings
- 9:12Speaker 1: for her for a long time, because he's made comments
- 9:15Speaker 1: that lead me to believe maybe, like even prior to
- 9:17Speaker 1: her marrying Papa McMurray, that maybe he's had a long
- 9:21Speaker 1: time crush on her. I don't think that's her match.
- 9:23Speaker 1: I wouldn't go so far as to say gross, I'm
- 9:27Speaker 1: just not getting the wowi zowie vibes. Did I say gross?
- 9:30Speaker 1: You did? Oh? Sorry? But Cody has given me wowie zawie.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Give me that Cody Isabelle pairing. I need something steamy
- 9:41Speaker 1: to look at to get excited about. Another storyline that
- 9:46Speaker 1: Isabel's birthday kind of provided a vehicle for was we
- 9:51Speaker 1: meet Missy's mother in this episode. And honestly, prior to
- 9:55Speaker 1: Missy running into her mom, it didn't even occur to
- 9:58Speaker 1: me to think about Missy's Hamley. No, not not once,
- 10:03Speaker 1: and especially I didn't think that they were just her
- 10:05Speaker 1: mom was just living right in town, well like working
- 10:08Speaker 1: at the diner, the diner that they go to all
- 10:10Speaker 1: the time or whatever, like, never has run into her
- 10:13Speaker 1: in the last four episodes, m not once. Is this
- 10:17Speaker 1: the first time we get an introduction to Missy being
- 10:20Speaker 1: a former pageant girl as well? Yeah? I think so.
- 10:25Speaker 1: She had kind of like pageant adjacent experience with her,
- 10:28Speaker 1: like rodeo queen stuff, but that's certainly not the life
- 10:31Speaker 1: her mother envisioned for her. Like her mother is a
- 10:34Speaker 1: little bit more Abby Lee than Rodeo. Okay, well, I
- 10:40Speaker 1: the way that I had interpreted the whole conversation between
- 10:43Speaker 1: them is that Connie's super disappointed in Missy for following
- 10:48Speaker 1: her heart after these like ranch boys or writer boys
- 10:52Speaker 1: or whatever, and based on her own personal experience it,
- 10:56Speaker 1: she wanted more for Missy. She wanted Missy to be
- 10:59Speaker 1: be like this, you know, a pageant girl, don't throw
- 11:03Speaker 1: your life away on a cowboy, Missy. She had a
- 11:06Speaker 1: lot of we know that Missy's dad is gone. I
- 11:10Speaker 1: don't know that we know why. Gotta suspect if he
- 11:14Speaker 1: was in this world, giving him a mother's disdain for
- 11:18Speaker 1: this lifestyle. And she talks about like how you know
- 11:21Speaker 1: I can't drive on those dirt roads and I need
- 11:23Speaker 1: a color wash and an alignment every time I drive
- 11:27Speaker 1: out here. And she really wants nothing to do with
- 11:31Speaker 1: that life. And so if I was Missy, I'd be
- 11:34Speaker 1: like peace. Then, I don't know, like that's the life
- 11:36Speaker 1: Missy chose, Like the mom has to accept it at
- 11:40Speaker 1: some point, yes, now question Though the mom does arrive
- 11:44Speaker 1: at Isabel's small birthday gathering. She was invited by Missy
- 11:48Speaker 1: and Connie and isabel have a pleasant exchange, but Connie
- 11:54Speaker 1: clearly has some resentment towards Isabelle because she's like taken
- 11:57Speaker 1: over that mother figure in Missy's life. And earlier in
- 12:01Speaker 1: the episode, Connie sees the birthday cake this iss happy
- 12:05Speaker 1: birthday mom, that Missy's caring and it's for Isabelle, and
- 12:10Speaker 1: Connie talks to Missy about how like you turned to
- 12:15Speaker 1: Isabelle after the death of your husband, and I wanted
- 12:17Speaker 1: to be there for you. And I had two like
- 12:19Speaker 1: really distinct feelings here. One Isabelle was Austin's mom, like
- 12:24Speaker 1: they're grieving together, she lived on the ranch with her.
- 12:28Speaker 1: I understand her turning to her, but also I kind
- 12:31Speaker 1: of a part of me could understand. I don't want
- 12:33Speaker 1: to use the term feeling left out because that feels
- 12:35Speaker 1: like a crappy thing to say, like, oh, I was
- 12:37Speaker 1: left out after your husband died. But I think she
- 12:40Speaker 1: wanted to be maternal in that moment and couldn't. Here's
- 12:44Speaker 1: my thoughts. Did you notice after Connie comes to the
- 12:48Speaker 1: birthday party and her and Isabelle have like awkward conversation
- 12:53Speaker 1: about how hard it is to be mom, blah blah blah,
- 12:55Speaker 1: Missy and the next scene is then over apologizing to
- 12:59Speaker 1: Isabelle about Connie ruining her birthday, and I thought, who cares?
- 13:04Speaker 1: Why would isabel care that she's there? And then I
- 13:07Speaker 1: was like, what's the backstory? Uh? Maybe Connie had an
- 13:10Speaker 1: affair with Isabelle's husband at some point, fallen in love
- 13:13Speaker 1: with these cowboys. You saw how that turned out. Huh.
- 13:19Speaker 1: I did not make that connection. I assumed Missy's dad
- 13:21Speaker 1: was some sort of cowboy and left her mother. And
- 13:24Speaker 1: that's why, because we know Missy's dad's gone, She's like,
- 13:27Speaker 1: just like, your dad left. I just think it's weird.
- 13:30Speaker 1: I thought there was some weird tension between Isabelle and
- 13:32Speaker 1: Connie and then Missy over apologizing for it, Like, what
- 13:36Speaker 1: is the story there? Oh? Yeah, I thought the tension
- 13:39Speaker 1: was just that there's like a weird like you're the
- 13:42Speaker 1: mother in law, you're the mom that's weird. I'm closer
- 13:44Speaker 1: to you. But we shall see. I I'm going to say,
- 13:49Speaker 1: I'm not buying into that synopsis yet, but all right,
- 13:51Speaker 1: we'll see. I'm hoping it goes that way because we
- 13:54Speaker 1: need something in the show. Some watch last episode, there
- 13:59Speaker 1: was a lot more drama last episode. All right, you
- 14:01Speaker 1: didn't even listen to the full synopsis. I'm sorry. You
- 14:04Speaker 1: got to see the final scene where Cash gives those
- 14:07Speaker 1: Rodeo dudes a piece of his mind. Oh I saw
- 14:09Speaker 1: it in the preview. Oh my gosh in the previously
- 14:13Speaker 1: on you need the last scene. We've got Valeria in
- 14:15Speaker 1: this episode. And I said it at the end of
- 14:18Speaker 1: last episode when we have a moment with Cash and
- 14:22Speaker 1: Valeria together and they're dancing that I think we're headed
- 14:25Speaker 1: toward a Cash and Valeria pairing. And everything in this
- 14:28Speaker 1: episode leads me to believe they're setting that up. And
- 14:32Speaker 1: I don't like it because because I don't like it.
- 14:36Speaker 1: I don't. I don't. I'm not ruining for it. Look,
- 14:39Speaker 1: lots of feedback from the Girls Come Home ourk community.
- 14:41Speaker 1: First season romances don't last, Like, we can't put Missy
- 14:43Speaker 1: and Cash together this season. Fine, Missy needs her rebound relationship,
- 14:48Speaker 1: so it needs to be with Gus before she ends
- 14:50Speaker 1: up with Cash. Fine. I'm actually fine with Missy and Gus. First.
- 14:53Speaker 1: I really like us. He's got that big, beautiful smile.
- 14:56Speaker 1: I'm here for it. M But I just I don't
- 14:59Speaker 1: there's something about the Cash Valeria pairing and the fact
- 15:03Speaker 1: that Valeria is Missy's former best friend who they're working
- 15:06Speaker 1: their way back to a friendship. This is I think
- 15:08Speaker 1: gonna complicate things. And Valeria is a big old liar,
- 15:12Speaker 1: so I'm not a fan. Well, I have two thoughts here.
- 15:16Speaker 1: One is like, are there no other available women in town?
- 15:21Speaker 1: Like He's like, oh, well, Missy is kind of off
- 15:23Speaker 1: the table, so who's left Valeria? You know vander Pump Rules,
- 15:28Speaker 1: Ranch Style, Easy Girl if you didn't know, vander Pump
- 15:32Speaker 1: Rules is my favorite reality TV show. So they all
- 15:35Speaker 1: date each other. I mean that's not as I know,
- 15:38Speaker 1: but like it's a little close to home. Cash, I
- 15:42Speaker 1: hear you, I hear you about this. I don't love
- 15:45Speaker 1: this pairing either. However, Valeria in this episode. What am
- 15:50Speaker 1: I trying to say here is she I liked her
- 15:53Speaker 1: more in this episode, I guess, and I have in
- 15:55Speaker 1: the previous three episodes. For some reason, I just thought
- 15:59Speaker 1: she was cuter. I don't know why, like real natural
- 16:02Speaker 1: and cute looking. But I also don't love her storyline.
- 16:07Speaker 1: I am intrigued though, when we get to the end
- 16:09Speaker 1: of the episode and we see her as a teenager
- 16:12Speaker 1: or child or whatever, and we learn that her name
- 16:15Speaker 1: is Estella, as she comes from a rich family. I
- 16:17Speaker 1: was like, okay, now I'm interested in Valeria. Yeah, what's
- 16:21Speaker 1: going on there? Well, let's talk about that really quickly.
- 16:23Speaker 1: At the birthday party, Tough does confront Valeria finally, and
- 16:27Speaker 1: he's been talking about it all episode, mostly with Julian
- 16:31Speaker 1: because he tried talking about it last episode with Cash
- 16:33Speaker 1: and Cash blew him off, and he's been talking to Julian,
- 16:36Speaker 1: and Julian's only role in this entire episode is to
- 16:40Speaker 1: be there for Tough to talk to him about Valeria.
- 16:43Speaker 1: Really justice for Julian, really, But he finally confronts her
- 16:48Speaker 1: when Valeria and Cash are having a moment and Cash
- 16:51Speaker 1: is like, could you wait, and he shows the stash
- 16:56Speaker 1: of ideas that he found, and she gets very upset
- 16:59Speaker 1: and she makes up what I believe to be a
- 17:01Speaker 1: complete lie about the reason she was on the run,
- 17:03Speaker 1: that she owed that bad dude money from gambling debts. Well,
- 17:08Speaker 1: I think, is this her big mystery that we finally
- 17:11Speaker 1: have now solved in like two seconds, I think, hopefully.
- 17:15Speaker 1: I think you're right that she was lying about all
- 17:18Speaker 1: of that, about the poker debts and whatever. But earlier
- 17:22Speaker 1: in the episode when she's playing poker, like you can
- 17:25Speaker 1: easily see that she kind of zones in on Julian
- 17:29Speaker 1: as being like an easy target because he's never played
- 17:32Speaker 1: poker before. And I was like, oh, okay, okay, here
- 17:36Speaker 1: is that what she's been doing? Is this her big
- 17:38Speaker 1: secret that she's whatever? But I think it was too
- 17:41Speaker 1: easily resolved. If that's what all the fake id's and
- 17:45Speaker 1: stuff had her running away and all that stuff has
- 17:47Speaker 1: to do, yes, And it doesn't answer the question of
- 17:50Speaker 1: what she was doing for Tucker Clark and why Austin
- 17:53Speaker 1: was involved, because we know the reason she leaves is
- 17:57Speaker 1: because Austin knows something about her, and Austin also needs
- 18:03Speaker 1: some help. So maybe what he knows is that she's
- 18:05Speaker 1: got gambling debts. Maybe that's a piece of it. But
- 18:08Speaker 1: what was she doing for Austin? Like, where does he
- 18:10Speaker 1: factor in when she leaves in the middle of that
- 18:12Speaker 1: rodeo in the first episode. Yeah, I'm still hoping that
- 18:15Speaker 1: she was like pregnant with Austin's baby and then went
- 18:17Speaker 1: away to have a baby and then came back. God,
- 18:20Speaker 1: I don't I'm probably not saying that too. I don't
- 18:22Speaker 1: think that's it either, it's probably not either. Nope. So
- 18:25Speaker 1: she tells this whole story and she takes the IDs,
- 18:29Speaker 1: and we later at the end of the episode see
- 18:32Speaker 1: her flipping through the IDs and she stops on one
- 18:36Speaker 1: named Estella, and we get a flashback of a younger Valaria,
- 18:41Speaker 1: who really the only thing they've done to make her
- 18:43Speaker 1: look younger is put her in this like prim little dress.
- 18:46Speaker 1: I'm like, maybe needed, I don't know, something with her
- 18:48Speaker 1: hair or something in this big, beautiful home where like
- 18:53Speaker 1: a housekeeper has summoned her upstairs to where her apparently
- 18:58Speaker 1: dying mother is in bed. I mean, that's that's the
- 19:00Speaker 1: assumptions I'm making of this scene. And earlier in the episode,
- 19:04Speaker 1: we had seen Cash and we'll talk about this kind
- 19:07Speaker 1: of like make a snide comment about people with money,
- 19:10Speaker 1: and Valeria is quick to jump to their defense and
- 19:12Speaker 1: she's like, she didn't ask to grow up like this.
- 19:15Speaker 1: I thought that was a nice tie in. Knowing we
- 19:17Speaker 1: know about Valeria is that she's apparently a little bit
- 19:21Speaker 1: of a princess herself. Yeah, there was another tie into
- 19:23Speaker 1: when Missy was complaining about her mom and then it
- 19:26Speaker 1: was something like, well, at least you grew up with
- 19:28Speaker 1: a mom. Oh yeah, at least you have a mom
- 19:30Speaker 1: mm hmm. That's a great point. Again, this is more
- 19:33Speaker 1: questions and answers, right, like do any of them know
- 19:36Speaker 1: this about I mean, her name was Estella? Like do
- 19:40Speaker 1: they know who Valeria is? Like what's the story she's
- 19:43Speaker 1: made up about the loss of her parents? They obviously
- 19:46Speaker 1: don't know that she's come from money, She's been working
- 19:48Speaker 1: as a ranch hand. There's a billion more questions and
- 19:51Speaker 1: answers about Valeria's storyline at this point. Yeah, like how
- 19:54Speaker 1: did Missy and Valeria meet? Did they meet at like
- 19:58Speaker 1: university or did they meet like in town or do
- 20:02Speaker 1: they not know anything about each other? Yeah? What the
- 20:06Speaker 1: hell is happening? Great points. I want to go back
- 20:09Speaker 1: to Cash and Valeria for a second now. When they
- 20:13Speaker 1: were I thought, these two idiots are completely tearing up
- 20:18Speaker 1: the field in that I'm like, what the hell is
- 20:21Speaker 1: happening here? Like, first of all, she works this ranch, right,
- 20:25Speaker 1: and then they're in this like golf car or I
- 20:27Speaker 1: know it's not a golf car. I don't know what
- 20:29Speaker 1: it is. But they're like doing donuts all over the
- 20:32Speaker 1: field and tearing it up. How disrespectful. Yeah, don't they
- 20:36Speaker 1: need that field, Like, aren't sheep gonna need to graze
- 20:39Speaker 1: somewhere or cows? They just completely destroyed it. The city
- 20:44Speaker 1: I live in. If it's raining, they won't even let
- 20:46Speaker 1: you play soccer on their field, I know. So I
- 20:50Speaker 1: think this was a bad move unless they were about
- 20:52Speaker 1: to raise that field now. In this same scene, Cash
- 20:57Speaker 1: gives advice to Valeria about like how to be a
- 21:00Speaker 1: boss to the ranch hands. Yeah, and he tells her like,
- 21:04Speaker 1: be more like you a cool and fun person, And
- 21:06Speaker 1: I just was like, yeah, you're not selling me on
- 21:11Speaker 1: the fact that you're falling hard for willmus Bell exactly.
- 21:16Speaker 1: Can we talk about Valeria working her way into like
- 21:22Speaker 1: the whole like poker game situation. Yeah, breaking in with
- 21:26Speaker 1: the boys, So it's obvious she's like takes her job
- 21:30Speaker 1: seriously and she's super annoyed that these dudes are always
- 21:33Speaker 1: just like standing around and talking and she's like working
- 21:35Speaker 1: her ass off, which I fully can stand behind. Mm hmm,
- 21:39Speaker 1: But like, why is she trying so hard to be
- 21:42Speaker 1: one of them? Is it just a she wants to
- 21:45Speaker 1: earn their respect? Yes? All right, which was again the
- 21:49Speaker 1: whole thing with the episode you didn't watch last week
- 21:51Speaker 1: because the entire time, like tough tells her that, like,
- 21:55Speaker 1: you didn't earn this job, and all the ranch hands
- 21:57Speaker 1: think so as well. And she has this big project
- 22:00Speaker 1: to take on and she doesn't ask anybody for help,
- 22:03Speaker 1: and it takes her a couple of days and she
- 22:05Speaker 1: does it all by herself because she doesn't feel like
- 22:07Speaker 1: she has the right to ask the ranch hands for help.
- 22:11Speaker 1: And they have not welcomed her as their boss. And
- 22:15Speaker 1: so she now, if they're gonna make it work, she's
- 22:18Speaker 1: got to earn their respect. All right, let's move on
- 22:21Speaker 1: to missing Gus, and I'd like to say justice for
- 22:24Speaker 1: his niece Sophie. First of all. Okay, they're there for
- 22:28Speaker 1: like Missy's gonna give them a writing lesson, is that correct?
- 22:32Speaker 1: At first said that she was gonna teach her like
- 22:33Speaker 1: some trick riding, but they're just out on the horses. Yeah,
- 22:37Speaker 1: And then they're like, let's go down by the river,
- 22:39Speaker 1: blah blah blah. I was like, oh my god, people,
- 22:42Speaker 1: I hope she didn't fall into the river, Like why
- 22:44Speaker 1: aren't they looking at the river first? Once the girl
- 22:46Speaker 1: goes missing, Like everybody's up in the whole family's up
- 22:50Speaker 1: in arms. We have this missing child on our ranch.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Nobody's really looking for her. Why wouldn't Why wouldn't they
- 22:57Speaker 1: like call the police, Why do wouldn't they nothing, They're
- 23:00Speaker 1: all looking for her. They all go out on the
- 23:02Speaker 1: dover and look for her. Just now, girl, Yes, let
- 23:05Speaker 1: me tell you you did not watch as closely as
- 23:07Speaker 1: I did. Here Isabelle standing at the farm or she's
- 23:09Speaker 1: waiting for another animal to give birth. She went back
- 23:13Speaker 1: to the barn in case Sophie came back there, and
- 23:16Speaker 1: she was like, I hate standing around here. I wish
- 23:17Speaker 1: I could be looking, but someone needs to be here
- 23:19Speaker 1: in case she shows up. And then James Stubber shows
- 23:21Speaker 1: up and they're just standing there talking like, oh my god,
- 23:24Speaker 1: a child is lost on our farm whatever ranch farm,
- 23:27Speaker 1: I don't know. And are you just glossing over this
- 23:29Speaker 1: is another show where a large animal is giving birth. No,
- 23:33Speaker 1: I'm not. We have not talked about poor Goldie giving birth.
- 23:35Speaker 1: At least they don't show it this time. We just
- 23:36Speaker 1: at the end of the Yes, that scene of Elliott
- 23:41Speaker 1: with his hand in that cow on your brain never
- 23:45Speaker 1: recover from so. And then you have Tough and Julian
- 23:51Speaker 1: and they're just like they're riding the horses around looking
- 23:54Speaker 1: for him, having a conversation about other stuff about Valeria
- 24:00Speaker 1: has the time somehow. I know they should there should
- 24:02Speaker 1: be more urgency. But if she's in the river, she's gone, right,
- 24:06Speaker 1: So yeah, Well, Missy Shocker finds her in the treehouse
- 24:13Speaker 1: and they have like this sweet movement, and I felt
- 24:15Speaker 1: kind of bad for that little girl because she just
- 24:18Speaker 1: wanted to stay there. It was so sad. Oh don't
- 24:22Speaker 1: even go home to my mom and her new husband.
- 24:25Speaker 1: So sad. How do you feel about this Missy Gus connection.
- 24:30Speaker 1: I don't hate it, partially because I like Gus so much,
- 24:34Speaker 1: like I like his character more than I like Valeria's character.
- 24:38Speaker 1: He was real sweet to Missy in the last episode.
- 24:40Speaker 1: They had a little bit of a moment towards the end,
- 24:43Speaker 1: and I'm into it. Are you into it? I mean
- 24:45Speaker 1: it's a nice placeholder. I guess, yeah, this is not
- 24:49Speaker 1: her forever romance. There's no way I see him actually
- 24:53Speaker 1: buying this ranch and being around long term. I could
- 24:57Speaker 1: be wrong about that. Again, I don't think this is
- 24:59Speaker 1: her romance. I don't think it's Gus and Missy forever.
- 25:03Speaker 1: But I do think he's a nice, pretty face for
- 25:05Speaker 1: her to enjoy is her first romance after her husband. HM,
- 25:10Speaker 1: because we know that there's more to Valeria and Cash's
- 25:14Speaker 1: relationship than what we've seen. We don't know all the details,
- 25:18Speaker 1: but there's more there and that needs to be unpacked. Yeah.
- 25:22Speaker 1: I have a couple digit see that moments. Yeah, I
- 25:24Speaker 1: mean too, go ahead, Okay. The first one is when
- 25:27Speaker 1: they are playing poker. We have these two random dudes
- 25:30Speaker 1: playing poker with them, and in front of them, they
- 25:33Speaker 1: have like plates full of cheese puffs, like Cheeto puffs,
- 25:39Speaker 1: like a mound of them. Yeah. Like then I had
- 25:42Speaker 1: to rewind it and look at it again. They have
- 25:45Speaker 1: potato chips on there too, But I was like, that
- 25:47Speaker 1: is so bizarre, Like I don't hate a Cheeto puff,
- 25:50Speaker 1: but it was just bizarre, Like they had a a
- 25:53Speaker 1: paper plate a mound of them, so weird. Yeah. And
- 25:57Speaker 1: also they're gonna get all over the cards, like cheese
- 25:58Speaker 1: puffs are right, put a pretzel out there. It's not
- 26:01Speaker 1: gonna leave a residue all over your hands. Gonna be
- 26:04Speaker 1: licking your fingers and then touching the cards. Gruss. When
- 26:07Speaker 1: Connie is at Isabelle's party and she bounces, she leaves
- 26:10Speaker 1: behind a whole glass wine. I know. I hate it
- 26:13Speaker 1: when they do this. They get a drink and then
- 26:15Speaker 1: there's a read This happens all the time, Like she
- 26:18Speaker 1: just poured you a glass wines. She probably had to
- 26:19Speaker 1: open the bottle because they're all drinking beer. And my
- 26:23Speaker 1: last one is when Tough and Julian are setting up
- 26:28Speaker 1: the poker table for the poker party. Yeah, they have
- 26:31Speaker 1: this super non sexual moment like he goes like he
- 26:36Speaker 1: puts his arms on his shoulders and I was like, oh,
- 26:38Speaker 1: this is this is as close as you are going
- 26:40Speaker 1: to get on this show. Yeah, they're really really easing
- 26:43Speaker 1: me and slowly to that relationship. I just was like,
- 26:46Speaker 1: come on. I mean, Tuff did like turn around and
- 26:48Speaker 1: give him like a glance, but like I was like,
- 26:52Speaker 1: this is this is it, and we're not gonna this
- 26:54Speaker 1: is It's not gonna go beyond this. No, all right,
- 26:57Speaker 1: I have a couple did you see that slash comments
- 27:01Speaker 1: that I need to make that don't fit it anywhere else.
- 27:03Speaker 1: The first is we learned that Julian and I believe
- 27:06Speaker 1: this is the first time we learn it is a
- 27:08Speaker 1: It's a bronc rider, which is different than a bull rider,
- 27:10Speaker 1: and I was like, Julian says, broncs are different than bulls,
- 27:14Speaker 1: and I was like, how, well, bronx are horses, that's
- 27:17Speaker 1: how So here go the two doing ranch stuff dummies. Honestly,
- 27:23Speaker 1: as much as I hate bull riding, I gotta say
- 27:25Speaker 1: bronco riding makes me even more uncomfortable. So I really
- 27:27Speaker 1: hope we don't see that. I'm so sorry, Julian, just
- 27:30Speaker 1: just be a pretty face. In the very beginning of
- 27:33Speaker 1: the episode, Missy is worried that Frontier is going to
- 27:37Speaker 1: fire her. Oh yeah, and then we never hear another
- 27:40Speaker 1: word about it. Well, you know, I didn't watch last
- 27:43Speaker 1: week's episode, so is there any Oh my gosh, yes,
- 27:49Speaker 1: there was Frontier conversation about Yes, so Frontier is going
- 27:53Speaker 1: to do this piece on Missy as a trick rider,
- 27:55Speaker 1: and they're like, we want to see your suicide drag.
- 27:58Speaker 1: And she has not been on a horse. This is
- 27:59Speaker 1: a whole the whole theme of the last episode. She
- 28:01Speaker 1: has not been on a horse since Austin's death, and
- 28:04Speaker 1: she blames herself for Austin's death. And she knew something
- 28:07Speaker 1: was up that day and she let him ride anyway,
- 28:11Speaker 1: and right before he Rode. He caught her in Cash
- 28:13Speaker 1: like having a moment even though nothing was happening. She
- 28:16Speaker 1: knew that that through him, and so she has blamed
- 28:18Speaker 1: herself for Austin's death and as a result, hasn't gotten
- 28:21Speaker 1: back on a horse since then as a trick rider.
- 28:25Speaker 1: And they want to see this suicide drag like. They
- 28:28Speaker 1: want to go straight to the hardest trick that she
- 28:30Speaker 1: can do. And she does like one training session with
- 28:33Speaker 1: Cash and it doesn't go well, and then the Frontier
- 28:37Speaker 1: people show up to take the video. She bails out.
- 28:41Speaker 1: She can't do it, and she's like, look, I've got
- 28:44Speaker 1: a mental block. I'm not mentally ready for this. It's
- 28:47Speaker 1: too hard. Like I would be happy to show you
- 28:48Speaker 1: training or other tricks or building up to it, but
- 28:51Speaker 1: I can't do this. Since she's like, well, I've seen
- 28:53Speaker 1: JB fire people for less. Oh god, so stupid. So
- 28:57Speaker 1: she thinks she's gonna lose her Frontier ambassadorship as a result,
- 29:01Speaker 1: and we only get it in the very beginning of
- 29:04Speaker 1: the episode, and then that's it. You're trying to tell
- 29:07Speaker 1: me that Nike would take away their deal with Michael
- 29:11Speaker 1: Jordan because he can't fly through the air anymore and
- 29:14Speaker 1: do a slam dunk like he gets the yips because
- 29:17Speaker 1: Missy has the yips. What the hell are the yips?
- 29:20Speaker 1: What does that mean? The yips is like my husband, Yeah,
- 29:23Speaker 1: he'll know. I guarantee you text him right now. Okay,
- 29:26Speaker 1: spell that? Like why y ips? Just ask me if
- 29:29Speaker 1: he knowes what that is. The yips are in sports
- 29:31Speaker 1: when an athlete can suddenly no longer do a skill
- 29:35Speaker 1: that used to be able to do, and they apply
- 29:36Speaker 1: it to pitchers a lot, like they can't pitch anymore.
- 29:39Speaker 1: And there's not really necessarily a physical reason for It's
- 29:42Speaker 1: not like they have an injury. They just mentally can't
- 29:44Speaker 1: do this thing. And so they say like Missy has
- 29:46Speaker 1: the yips, and they never brought back up the whole
- 29:49Speaker 1: potential losing the ambassadorship being okay, cash on the fake
- 29:54Speaker 1: ball kills me. Did you see this? Yes, but I
- 29:59Speaker 1: don't remember it being a st out moment. They've got
- 30:01Speaker 1: like this ranch hand like like making the fake mechanical
- 30:05Speaker 1: bull buck. I know it feels like, look, maybe this
- 30:11Speaker 1: is a standard bull riding practice situation. It just feels
- 30:17Speaker 1: like a child on the seesaw. Oh that's funny. Is
- 30:21Speaker 1: the ranch Hand standing there with like a Natari joystick,
- 30:23Speaker 1: like trying to like he's like a lever underneath the
- 30:27Speaker 1: back of the barrel that he's like shooting up and
- 30:29Speaker 1: down to make the metal bull buck. It's not even
- 30:34Speaker 1: actually like mechanical junk yard ball. I vaguely remember it.
- 30:42Speaker 1: And given that Cash is that actor Bohmerkoff is not
- 30:47Speaker 1: an actual bull rider, they're not like going that hard.
- 30:50Speaker 1: It's not like this metal bull is actually bucking all
- 30:53Speaker 1: that hard because his stunt double isn't in the scene.
- 30:57Speaker 1: And so it just amused me. And finally, so tiny
- 31:00Speaker 1: Abo the close captioning spelled. They say the word debt
- 31:02Speaker 1: eight hundred times in one of the final scenes, and
- 31:04Speaker 1: they spelled it dept every single time, ever single time.
- 31:08Speaker 1: I'm like that, they're not even a word that's an
- 31:10Speaker 1: abbreviation d ep department. Yes, was that unfriendly or did
- 31:18Speaker 1: you use it on YouTube? TV two TV? Oh, and
- 31:23Speaker 1: I have another notes here, we do get a name
- 31:26Speaker 1: for our unnamed ranch Hand. Now, as for the last episode,
- 31:29Speaker 1: he did appear on IMDb, but they didn't call him
- 31:31Speaker 1: his name until this week. His name's Nick Victor Okay
- 31:34Speaker 1: is the actor we still have our unnamed mustached ranch hand,
- 31:37Speaker 1: and he is not on IMDb. This is his second episode.
- 31:41Speaker 1: That's the Cheetoh puff guy. He's he's got some lines,
- 31:44Speaker 1: but he has not had a name as far as
- 31:46Speaker 1: I can tell him the past two episodes. He was
- 31:47Speaker 1: a real dick in last week's episode, though, well you
- 31:49Speaker 1: know what. It's also funny too, is that character Nick.
- 31:52Speaker 1: Like we learned he has played football and was also
- 31:54Speaker 1: in the military, And I was like, what the hell
- 31:57Speaker 1: is your name? Dude? Pu I know your whole backs out,
- 32:00Speaker 1: but I still don't know your name. Yes, they call
- 32:02Speaker 1: him Nick multiple times in this episode. Sorry I missed it.
- 32:05Speaker 1: Who you're riding for this week? I got no one?
- 32:07Speaker 1: How about you? I hate this show and I refuse
- 32:12Speaker 1: to play your stupid games. I mean I kind of
- 32:17Speaker 1: enjoyed Tough for like calling out Valeria finally at the end,
- 32:21Speaker 1: but I kind of like Valeria for being annoyed with
- 32:25Speaker 1: her ranch hand due who weren't doing anything. Yeah, I
- 32:29Speaker 1: think it's Valeria for me too, and she I liked
- 32:33Speaker 1: her when she's like, hey, we got work to do,
- 32:34Speaker 1: and then I like that she's like got the situation,
- 32:37Speaker 1: which is that they don't respect her, and she figures
- 32:39Speaker 1: out a way to get in with them by kicking
- 32:42Speaker 1: their ass in poker. M h. I think she was
- 32:45Speaker 1: a very complex character in this episode, so I agree
- 32:48Speaker 1: if I co sign on this writing for Valeria, Thank
- 32:52Speaker 1: you for listening to this episode of Girls Gone. Hallmark
- 32:55Speaker 1: will be back next week with a brand new movie
- 32:56Speaker 1: review and a brand new recap of Ride. Maybe and
- 33:00Speaker 1: he will grow to love this show as the season
- 33:02Speaker 1: goes on. Or maybe her hate will just fester like
- 33:05Speaker 1: a bad shoe horse. I was shoe. We were trying
- 33:09Speaker 1: to do a horse pun there. Okay, you were gonna what?
- 33:15Speaker 1: I was counting down the episodes to number ten. We
- 33:18Speaker 1: still have a lot more to go, a lot more
- 33:20Speaker 1: like a month and a half dig in. Okay. If
