Transcript
- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why I feel a little nervous.
- 0:04[SPEAKER_01]: Why is this like a first episode doing a podcast?
- 0:07[SPEAKER_00]: No, it feels like this is the end performance, you know?
- 0:12[SPEAKER_00]: Like when I was dancing back in the day, we would always have a year-end performance.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_00]: And it would always be, you know, kind of wrapping up the year.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_01]: Like a final school project.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but it was like a final school performance.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_00]: A school project is like more low stakes.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_00]: Like you get a great on it.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_00]: But a performance, it's like you've been working on it for months.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_00]: You've been just practicing and rehearsing and practicing and rehearsing and you finally have that performance.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_00]: You finally get to show what you've been working on.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_01]: How nervous are you the moments you get before you get on stage?
- 0:49[SPEAKER_00]: the superstar or whatever.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't really get to perform very often.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_00]: So when I got to perform, it was extra weight.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_00]: Extra weight because I had to one prove myself and also just just be like, this is my opportunity to show you that I deserve to be here.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_01]: And I can, it goes so well with your person now.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe, is that weird person now, it comes from?
- 1:18[SPEAKER_01]: Is that what it's been, having been the undog and just having to pull constantly?
- 1:23[SPEAKER_00]: Is that weird like, I mean, would you say I'm still like that?
- 1:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_01]: In a way that like, you know, if we're traveling and you're carrying a heavy ass suitcase, you will prefer to struggle.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, then to be like a babe can help me.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if that's necessarily like linked to the other thing, but in general.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_01]: I think it kind of does.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, you could say.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_01]: Because you want to show, not means necessary, but you want to show yourself that I can do this to show ourselves.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_00]: It could be that.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: Not it is that I guess it is that what's up you guys what's up side it to be here I am too today is our last today's our a hundred patreon episode which means that we are completing two seasons of patreon we have a hundred video exclusive content episode just crazy which I just want to just real quick good job
- 2:16[SPEAKER_00]: I want to say, more good job to you because you are the one that is, you know, editing, Phil, I mean, we're filming together, but I think, and putting everything together, keeping the community engaged.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, I don't need to add.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that is true, but I appreciate it and it's fun and I love the community.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_01]: I love everyone that's here I feel like people don't know that you can also Direct message on Patreon because the direct messages that we have on what should you see in Instagram?
- 2:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, or on our own Instagram They kind of get a lot of DMZNA gets lost.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_01]: You don't even see something but like on patreon
- 2:55[SPEAKER_01]: It's a closer community, so if you ever want to say something, if you ever want to submit something or if you ever send us a message and we just haven't responded to it's never on purpose.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_01]: And if you are here on Patreon, obviously if you're watching this, you aren't Patreon.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_01]: Send the here on Patreon and I get those notifications on my phone like a text message.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, okay.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_01]: So, just like, let's text together.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_01]: You know, tell me something.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_00]: And then you'll, you will see it and then he'll tell me about.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_00]: I am, uh, Yoni is the, he's the, he's the, the Patreon, the Patreon person.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_00]: And do you usually just let's me know what's, uh, what's going on over there?
- 3:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, we do have a topic today.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_00]: We do have, we do have kind of a topic today.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what the hell's going on with my, yeah.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: I always prefer.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I try to fix it, but she says she can do it herself and now look at us.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_01]: This is the part where I usually do, but she's like, no, pay up.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_01]: I'm good now.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_01]: Look.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we're fine.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I'm excited to talk about today's topic because I think it's a good note to sort of leave the season on.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: I think it kind of, uh, not that nothing.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: I'm necessarily going to drive this episode, but it is sort of a big realization I've had recently.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and, and yeah,
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: having traveled so much in like a pretty short period of time going to Mexico then going to Scotland which by the way if you haven't heard that episode we just put it out earlier today which was also recorded earlier today so we've been in the we've been in the pod we've been in the studio but yeah we the the Mexico trip and the Scotland trip we're about to
- 4:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to try to figure out when we can do because it is a work trip.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_00]: We're trying to figure out where we can find some time to do a podcast meetup.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_00]: So if you're in London, if you're in the London area, maybe if you're even in like Paris or something, they can easily kind of London and you feel like coming for a weekend, we're going to try to do a meetup on Saturday, Saturday or Friday afternoon.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_01]: But it has to be a weekend, you know?
- 5:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we're going to try our best.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_00]: So we're still figuring that out.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_00]: If you don't follow the Instagram, you should because we're definitely going to be announcing it there.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_00]: But what I want to say is like traveling so much recently, I think it has, I don't know, you even pointed out a shift that happened within me where I'm a little bit more, go with the flow.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a little bit more.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_00]: If you even
- 5:36[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, I think I want to continue going into this year with a little bit more spontaneity and a little bit less restriction on myself and sort of like being a control free freak and get a second control free but I think like spontaneity gets lost
- 5:58[SPEAKER_00]: in adulthood a lot and I mean the spontaneity in the sense of like inviting spontaneity in your life.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_01]: Now let's explain what time it, right?
- 6:07[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, yeah.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_01]: An example that I can think of right away is that let's say we go to Paris and we know we're going to be there for a week the way I am naturally and this is not me versus you thing, so don't don't bring the defense walls up, okay?
- 6:26[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_01]: You know, let me go outside and let me just explore.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not looking at what's this coffee shop, what's the rating, what are people saying about this thing?
- 6:36[SPEAKER_01]: I don't do that shit ever.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I just go and find out for myself.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_01]: If it's bad, you know what it is, what it is, part of the experience, you know?
- 6:44[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's me, that's being spontaneous in the moment.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, actually what I mean by spontaneity.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_01]: There's many different levels.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_01]: This is just a tier of being spontaneous to me, is going places without knowing.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_00]: Where you going?
- 6:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, without knowing where you're going, without knowing if the food is, I guess the food thing is kind of because you want to, you don't want to waste your money, but just, just less of a plan, just relax a little bit, drop your shoulders a little bit, you know, and just walk, in my case, I take photos, I explore, I listen to music, I'm having a great time, I don't know where I'm going.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_01]: I love that.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_01]: Alia, go ahead.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_01]: What do you do?
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I don't love that because if I'm making a video, it's like I can't just wander around without knowing where I'm going and then I'm wasting time.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_00]: We're not talking like it's always work.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_01]: We're not talking about making a video.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_00]: I know, but you can't say we're not talking about that because that's like what I do all the time.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_00]: So it's almost like it doesn't even it can't So that's your way of defending that is that you always I'm saying this what you just said doesn't apply to someone like me Who has this as a job.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_00]: So when I'm traveling I'm always making a video Which automatically becomes like work mode is turned on and I can't just like aimlessly walk around
- 7:57[SPEAKER_00]: with at least like, at some point, there is, there's something.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so this is your job and that is very true.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_01]: You make a great point.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_01]: How can you be spontaneous in life?
- 8:07[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, what I meant more about spontaneity is being open to if an opportunity comes up to deviate from a plan or to deviate from something that you were already doing, being up for it.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_00]: somewhere.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_00]: We could even be in New York and we're walking with a destination to go somewhere, but along that walk, something else comes up.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_00]: Like what?
- 8:34[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, like it could be a store that looks interesting from the outside, but we originally, that wasn't an instant.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think the circumstances matter, but like, I think the circumstances matter, but I'm imagining maybe not
- 8:50[SPEAKER_00]: I imagine like, I think it's possible to get there.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_00]: It's possible to get there.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: It's possible to get there.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_00]: It's possible to get there.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_01]: It's possible to get there.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_01]: It's possible to get there.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: It's possible to get there.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: It's possible to get there.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_00]: It's possible to get there.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_00]: It's possible to get there.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_00]: It's possible to get there.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_00]: It's possible to get there.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_00]: It's possible to get there.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_00]: It's possible to get there.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_00]: It's possible to get there.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_00]: It's possible to get there.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_00]: It's possible to get there.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_00]: It's possible to get there.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_00]: It's possible to get there.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's possible to get there.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's possible to get there.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_00]: It's possible to get there.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_00]: It's possible to get there.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_00]: It's possible to get there.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_00]: It
- 9:08[SPEAKER_00]: Let's just say we're, I don't know, somewhere hanging out, I'm trying to think I feel like there was something that just happened recently that, oh, for example, like our friends were in town, our friends die like moved to Australia and they came back in town for a month and they were in New York for a little bit.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_00]: So we got some burgers one night and our plan was to just go get burgers.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think it was to get burgers and then get like frozen yogurt after or something like that.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_01]: Nice combo.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_00]: You know, and we went met together, got burgers, sat there, enjoyed our meal, and then we were on our way to a frozen yogurt place, and along this way to the frozen yogurt place, we see this photo booth.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_00]: And we were like, oh, she was just like getting the photo booth.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_00]: There was a line, but it wasn't super long.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_00]: And then it actually ended up taking like 45 minutes to go take our photos in this photo booth, because there was people that were like taking 50 photos.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_00]: But that's not the point.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_01]: We'll introduce the photos here on the screen.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_00]: And to me that was kind of like, I mean, I don't know if it's like the best example.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_00]: It was kind of like spontaneous, right?
- 10:17[SPEAKER_00]: But it was just kind of like, okay, let's just do this, I guess.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_00]: And then we ended up taking photos.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_00]: And the photos actually the first time didn't turn out like very good.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_00]: But our
- 10:26[SPEAKER_00]: time like already kind of past to be at the the photo booth so they were like okay let's go get our frozen yogurt and then maybe we'll come back if like there's enough time and then we did got our frozen yogurt which actually ended up being ice cream because the frozen yogurt closed busy and then we came back and then we take more photos and then this time we like took our time and we did like a few rounds of photos and
- 10:50[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why like I think maybe me explaining this is kind of for somebody who is very flexible in general not a big deal, but like for me this sounded like a regular day.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_00]: For me, that is something that is kind of new.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, oh, shit, we didn't plan this.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_00]: Ooh.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, it's not that deep.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_00]: It's like you're making fun of me right now.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_00]: But it's like, I'm welcoming this sort of like being less, less rigid, which for someone like me is really difficult.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_00]: It's what I'm saying.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_01]: And I appreciate you acknowledging that.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not making fun of you.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_01]: It's just a little bit funny.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm not making fun of you because that was that's a great step forward to And it was fun.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it was fun.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_00]: But you know why it was fun.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_00]: It was also because it was nothing No time pressure of something else in the future like the reason why I'm so rigid is because there's like Oh so much going on yeah, and you can't just be like always you know, I want to I want I guess in order for me to invite more spontaneity into my life
- 11:58[SPEAKER_00]: free up time for spontaneity.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_01]: I have to free up time for like oh let's just stop here because we have the time to but I think what about what about a day where you're not working or I'm not working any it's a beautiful Sunday and we just want to be out in the city.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like even still on those days, there is this planning.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I need to like maximize my free time.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, instead of just being someone and just letting just really just relaxing, maybe not thinking too much about what's next.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_01]: Just being a moment, sit at a park and just let some time go.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm not saying waste your time right here, but sometimes it's okay to just give you a brain like a break.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
