- 0:00Time. Time works differently, Time's not linear. I've been looking forward to
- 0:03this since before Infinity War. Let's go. We're looking forward to this since
- 0:10before Sam Raimi Spider Man one. I've been looking forward to this since before
- 0:15the original Batman. Now we're talking about d DO, so we're gonna move
- 0:20on. We're gonna move on. Hello and welcome to May the Review be
- 0:32with you with Nick and Joe. I'm Joe, I'm Nick, And today
- 0:37we're talking about Loki, something we're really excited about. We've been excited to
- 0:41talk about Loki season two, probably Loki season one ended. Yes, here
- 0:46we are waiting for this. I've been waiting for this since Iron Man died.
- 0:52It's how long I've been waiting for Loki season two. So that only
- 0:56works. I feel like if if like time travels, Shenan again are involved,
- 1:00because our man didn't die until Okay, you're not in your head.
- 1:04Okay, so you are. You're you're doing a thing. You're doing a
- 1:07time travel thing. Time works differently, Time's not linear. I've been looking
- 1:12forward to this since before Infinity War. Let's go. Looking forward to this
- 1:19since before Sam Raimi Spider Man one. I've been looking forward to this since
- 1:25before the original Batman. Now we're talking about d like to do. So
- 1:30we're gonna move on. We're gonna move on verse the Trash universe. Yeah,
- 1:34maybe one day they'll get it together. But so we're talking about Yes,
- 1:41Nick, you've already displayed some excitement. I've explained some excitement before we
- 1:44get into the episodes. Talk to me about why what it is that you
- 1:48like about the Loki series. Why were you looking forward to this? Uh,
- 1:52Tom, Tom Hidleston and Owen Wilson have some of the best on screen
- 1:57chemistry that I think we've seen in the Marvel Cinematic universe honestly TV in general.
- 2:01It's like they're so good together, it's incredible, and so I was
- 2:07really looking forward to that. I've been a huge fan of Jonathan Major's in
- 2:10the way that he's portrayed King and a couple and he he remains and so
- 2:15I've been really looking forward to seeing him as well, which we'll get to
- 2:19later. And Yeah, it's just it's probably the best written show that they've
- 2:24done. In my opinion, it's my favorite show that they've done. From
- 2:30the season one and then you know, so far it's really gone gotten started
- 2:34off really well. See those are my those are my quick takeaways. What
- 2:38about you, I'm gonna echo a lot of the same as that. I
- 2:43mean, we came right off of Wan Division, which was really great into
- 2:49Loki, and somehow that was even more interesting. I think I've said it
- 2:53out of here before you notice. I'm a sucker for time travel stuff.
- 3:00That was like this was like yep, I'm all in, baby, and
- 3:02like season two is already like more tiny whiny than season one just even I
- 3:08just god, it's got me, you know, it's got my full attention.
- 3:13Let's get into the time travel, because that's how season the first episode
- 3:16kicks off right, like, we just see Loki getting ripped apart, like
- 3:21through time, jumping from the past, jumping into the future. I got
- 3:25such a sorry, go ahead, no, no, I'm I'm I'm on
- 3:30you. I'm on your time. I have a quick summary. So yeah,
- 3:34let's let's go ahead and jump into episode one. A quick reminder,
- 3:37Loki Season two hits the ground running as Loki sprints away from the TVA agents
- 3:42of the past. The as Guardian discovers he's time slipping between the TVA's past
- 3:46present and future. Uh, something before not thought was possible. The TVA
- 3:52becomes divided over the disappearance of Miss Minutes and rent Layer, as well as
- 3:55the infinite branches coming from the Sacred Timeline. Mobius takes Loki to me or
- 4:00abor Us that are known as ob who identifies Loki as time slipping and informs
- 4:03the game the Gang that the time loom of the Sacred Timeline is overloading.
- 4:09They must fix Loki's time slipping while protecting the TVA from the chronal radiation.
- 4:15Okay, there's a lot in there, Nick, That's that's that's a packed
- 4:20that's a packed first first episode. And I think in most cases this would
- 4:25be too much. But Nick, what were your impressions of this episode?
- 4:30Uh, the immediate chaos was fantastic and it brilliant really too right, because
- 4:36at the end of season one, when Loki comes back from from the end
- 4:41of time, he sees Mobius and Moby says no idea who he is.
- 4:46And so, like you know, we've and and and we've watched a bunch
- 4:50of other Marvel TV shows and films since then. We just got done with
- 4:54ant Man a few months ago, and our thoughts are that we know,
- 4:59we're completely wondering, like what happened? Is he on a different timeline?
- 5:03Like I think a lot of our thoughts were Loki came back and he is
- 5:09on a branch timeline that has now come about because he who remains has died,
- 5:13and so I think that was our our our thought, and the second
- 5:17we find out that he was in the past instead, I was just like,
- 5:21oh my god, this is fantastic. And he's just time slipping between
- 5:25the past and a present and wherever he time slips is where he ends up
- 5:29in the past or the future, which is what was was some super cool
- 5:33scenes. That's my Like, that was my initial thought right from the from
- 5:40the get go. What what about you? So this is related to the
- 5:46opening scenes, but like this is pretty present throughout this episode. I feel
- 5:51like the word that you use, like the chaos and the pandemonium. Absolutely
- 5:58they they being the directors, the editor, Hidleston, do those in charge
- 6:04of the camera work do such an amazing job of instilling fear and anxiety in
- 6:12you. Like I was nervous throughout this whole episode, you know, especially
- 6:15when Loki's like running around like trying to like get someone to remember him.
- 6:20And like you know, he comes to realize he's in the past when he's
- 6:23talking to Casey. Yeah, and the anxiety that like Tom Hillston is able
- 6:29to to demonstrate, the paranoia and the fear, the fear that he's able
- 6:33to show as as this character that we've come to know for so long now
- 6:39he and a sorry and and the simple I want to touch on this because
- 6:45you mentioned it in the simple way that they let us know that he realizes,
- 6:48like how he realizes that he was in the past with you know that
- 6:51the the mid air that where was he was just like in a in a
- 6:58vehicle, you know, a floating vehicle, very Star Wars esque in that
- 7:03scene, I think you know where he's like, you know, they've got
- 7:04the the float the my god, what the hell is the word I'm looking
- 7:12for whatever? The floating floating transportation And and then you know, the truck
- 7:17crashes through the window and then wiggles like the TV where it shows the timeline
- 7:25and it cracks the floor and then he's pulled apart and time slips back to
- 7:30the present and and realizes or no realize, Yeah, realizes that he was
- 7:39in the past because the crack on the floor is there just like I don't
- 7:44know, I just love that. That was like simple but awesome. You
- 7:48it really is there. The direction of this episode, Like I know you
- 7:55are big fans of the finale of Loki, and a lot of that has
- 7:58to do with Jonathan Major's performance as he who Remains, and that is certainly
- 8:03true. This might be my favorite episode of Loki from like a directorial process
- 8:11for all of the storytelling that we learn based on like what's happening in the
- 8:16environment around us, right, Like that crack in the floor that was a
- 8:18brilliant way of like showing us like that's the past. The thing that happens
- 8:22later with skin like in the dust, showing us that that's the future.
- 8:28Really really clever ways to do that. The level of fear and anxiety that's
- 8:33like amplified like Tom Hillson's performance, it's amplified by like this shaky camera that's
- 8:39like following Loki around as he's like panicking trying to get people to hear him,
- 8:46hear what he's saying. Right. I want to point this out.
- 8:50The duo that directed this episode was Justin Benson and Aaron moorehead their Attag team,
- 8:58and I think before this, I don't I'm not too familiar with their
- 9:01work, but the thing that they did before this was they worked on Moonnight,
- 9:05which very much also has a kind of like paranoid very cool. Yep,
- 9:11that's great, that's great. I thought that was really interesting too.
- 9:15Those guys really have that that feeling down right, they know how to demonstrate
- 9:20that. Yeah, yeah, they got that across really well. I mean,
- 9:24that was a high powered episode the whole time, pretty much. I
- 9:26want to ask you a question. We are introduced to a new character in
- 9:33this episode. We're introduced to Ara Boros, played by Kiwa Kwan, who,
- 9:39of course very well known for a lot of stuff recently, everything everywhere,
- 9:46all at once. What'd you think about ob Ah so far? Even
- 9:54even after this third episode, he is like stealing the show for me.
- 10:00I love him. He's my favorite character right now. Like I need more
- 10:03of a b and and I need him to say we're all gonna die like
- 10:07way more time. It's so fuck freaking funny, man. He's like,
- 10:15Uh, it's such like a it's a nice I don't, I don't know
- 10:20how to how to describe it. Like the addition of his character is such
- 10:24like a it's like uplifting but dooms doomsday at the same time. You like,
- 10:31he's like delightful in the Yeah, he's delightful in the doom. So
- 10:37it's really cool. Uh and that scene in the first episode where the scene
- 10:45the scene where Mobius and and uh Loki go go to talk to him about
- 10:52the time slipping and he's like, it's not possible to time slip in the
- 10:56TV A. Well, then how did I do it? He's like,
- 10:58Oh, I'm having trouble reconcile that. It's like that, it's so funny.
- 11:05It's weird. And then like Loki time slips to the past in that
- 11:09room, which is such a cool concept. And then he's like talking to
- 11:13Oraborus in the past, and as he's talking to him in the past,
- 11:16like his future self or his present self is remembering the conversation and able to
- 11:22kind of like put it all together. And then all of a sudden,
- 11:24like he's he's basically had hundreds of years to create this device. It is
- 11:28really cool thinking that like the three of them are actually having that conversation but
- 11:33from two different points in time. Yeah, I guess four of them right,
- 11:37So Yeah, it was so well done. It was like, this
- 11:43is I could watch that scene one hundred times. That was such a cool
- 11:46time travel scene. Gotta be one of the best time travel scenes ever.
- 11:50Like ever, I really enjoyed the humor of that. You have a small
- 11:54nip with that scene. It's not necessarily a flawed depending on how they spin
- 11:58this, but based on what we know about time travel in the MCU,
- 12:03that shouldn't be possible, right, Like Scott, poor Scott Lane gets made
- 12:09fun of for talking about like this exact example of manipulating the past, and
- 12:16they're like, that's not how time travel works, stupid, And then like
- 12:20here it is, like, actually, it's exactly how it works, right,
- 12:24which I guess they kind of break the rules of time travel in that
- 12:28very movie where they set up the rules of time travel. My head cannon
- 12:31for this, though, is that since the TVA is the closest location to
- 12:37the source of all time energy, that maybe like time can be like more
- 12:41easily manipulated around that area. Yeah, And there's clearly a there's clearly a
- 12:46break in the major summer too, because obviously like things are falling apart and
- 12:50there's like so many timelines branching off that it feels like the rules of time
- 12:56travel might only apply when there's only a sacred timeline and not a million different
- 13:01universes currently happening. So it'll be interesting thing to see if they really kind
- 13:07of if we find out more about it as as a show. I got
- 13:09a couple more things just for this episode. One more ob thing. Yeah,
- 13:15when they're walking over to the time Loom Sacred Loom and Obi is explaining
- 13:24why the power disruption is such a bad thing, and he starts talking about
- 13:33the TVA Manual, which wow, that they're emphasizing that manual and Obi a
- 13:39lot in this season. We're going to talk more about that later. I'm
- 13:43very curious about your thoughts on that. But there's that wonderful moment where uh
- 13:50Ob, just being a badass at his job, just throws the manual behind
- 13:56him and Tom grabs it mid air. I rewound that over and over and
- 14:01over again to see if that was CGI. I'm convinced it's not. I'm
- 14:05convinced they did that on purpose, because like the thing that gave it away
- 14:07from me is Tom Middleston tracks it the book like throughout the air the entire
- 14:13time in the proper direction where it is so like, I'm convinced they did
- 14:16that they actually did that they might have I had to I was wondering about
- 14:22it too. I would love to know one if you're correct, and I
- 14:26have a feeling that you are, because it feels like it's something that they
- 14:28could definitely least do like ten takes off and probably get one right. And
- 14:33then my other thing is how many takes did they have to do if it
- 14:39was done like for real? And my third question is was that actually even
- 14:43in the script or did did he ad lib the throw and then did Tom
- 14:48Hddleston like actually catch it on the say that that does kind of feel like
- 14:54the kind of movie magic that might just happen like in the moment. Man,
- 14:58that that would be awesome, right because they were, you know,
- 15:03because they really flowed. I mean, obviously they're phenomenal actors, so of
- 15:07course it flowed well, but it flowed really well to where I was like,
- 15:09man, it didn't even like miss It didn't even feel like nothing felt
- 15:13forced. I was like, I wonder if that was just off the cuff
- 15:15and then it just ended up working, that would be so cool. Either
- 15:18way, I hope it was done live Like, I hope it wasn't CGI
- 15:22because that was like a serial cool moment. Yeah, really awesome seeing on
- 15:24the way to the time Loom Time Loom really interesting concept, interesting more about
- 15:31how the tdo functions and where it is in like the grander scheme of the
- 15:35multiverse. I guess that was fascinating. Also, we haven't talked about it
- 15:41enough. Owen Wilson in this episode is just amazing comedic relief throughout everything,
- 15:48especially with him arguing with Loki about like whether or not it's better to be
- 15:54erased molecule by molecule throughout time or to just have your right kind of argument.
- 16:03I would have gotten into you with like you or like my other friends
- 16:06in college, like screaming at the top of her lungs, like which is
- 16:08worse. I'll just like how he just obsesses over it around the rest of
- 16:14the episode. He's so funny. Yeah, we also got more B five
- 16:22in this episode. Five. I'm really interested in that character. We'll get
- 16:30into her in episode two. But before's there was there anything about episode one
- 16:36you wanted to discuss? Yeah? The other thing is is it has to
- 16:41be the last part when I guess the executives of the TVA are meeting in
- 16:48the room trying to figure out what the next order of business is, and
- 16:55Loki had gone there looking for Mobius. At he's being pulled between the past
- 17:00and the present, and he ends up there in the past when there's the
- 17:06room is empty and on the wall is like, you know, multiple murals
- 17:10of Kang the Conqueror and his variants, and he you know, plays this
- 17:15little radio message which is he he remains talking or Rent Slayer excuse me and
- 17:22Rens Slayer are talking, and and then he gets time slips back to the
- 17:27present and in the present in the room there's a painting over them, over
- 17:33the statues of king, and he remains. And that seems like, you
- 17:41know, we don't have to really talk about like what the you know,
- 17:44TVA heads we're talking about. But I loved how Loki is still like obviously
- 17:49that moment, he's still super chaotic because he has no idea what's going on,
- 17:52and he's like trying to find Mobius, who knows him. This is
- 17:53like the moment where he's like, oh, you know me, you know
- 17:56who I am, like blah blah blah, And Loki's like looking at the
- 18:00room, He's like, wait a minute, something's different, and he and
- 18:03he ends up like destroying the mural that is covering he remains in the variants,
- 18:10and everyone in the room is just like, how the hell did he
- 18:11know that was there? Like what is this? Like it's like kind of
- 18:15like a cool moment for everyone to know that, like everyone is way underqualified
- 18:21for whatever is currently happening in the universe. I actually thought this is what
- 18:27you bring up when Loki time slips into the future, which I think it's
- 18:34our I mean, we don't know if he time slipped into the future earlier,
- 18:37but it's our only intertention that he's actually in the future, and like
- 18:41everything's falling apart at the Secret Timeline appears to be overloading way too much,
- 18:47while the loom is overloading way too much, and he's looking to get primmed.
- 18:52He walks toward he walks toward a phone that's very very weird. Superesty
- 19:00lost is he sees Sylvia and elevator before he can really take a moment Tom
- 19:07because of course he's the person he wants to see. Someone prunes him from
- 19:11behind. I have a lot of actually, no, I just have one
- 19:18very loud thought. It's it's that's gotta be Loki, right like, Loki
- 19:22has to prove Loki in that scene, right Like, I feel like that's
- 19:25what it is. Oh, yeah, you know what it's. I I
- 19:29don't think that I got during the episode that he he was proved by something.
- 19:33Someone moves behind him, we can't see who it is, and they
- 19:37get him from behind. I don't know why. I must have forgot that
- 19:41detail or I missed it somehow. That's awesome, and it has to be
- 19:45Loky, and we're we're gonna get and and we're probably gonna get that scene
- 19:49like next episode maybe even because now we no, Sylvie's not back, Yeah
- 19:56maybe toward now. Yeah, because Sylvie's not back at the t v A.
- 19:59It's at the moment after episode three, so she was for a second
- 20:03and two. But we'll get there. Yeah, that would be That's super
- 20:07interesting. And also that seems a little infuriating because the phone's ringing for what
- 20:14feels like forever and the elevator doors are opening for what feels like forever.
- 20:18Meanwhile, he really needs to prove himself so that he doesn't get lots to
- 20:21time forever and I'm just like, I feel like his urgency is like misguided
- 20:25here, He's working the wrong things. In this moment, I was like,
- 20:34what is this guy doing? So thankfully someone proved him. You know,
- 20:38it might have been there moments where I, like I truly believed like,
- 20:45oh, he's not gonna make it. Not that I thought like something
- 20:47bad was gonna happen LOGI because obviously it's just episode one, but it was
- 20:51like, wow, damn it, he's actually not gonna make it. Yeah,
- 20:56I bought it, good story tell Yeah. And then of course he
- 21:03gets pruned and Mobias, you know, uh, hangs out there long enough
- 21:07on the bridge to grab Loki from from time basically as himself without time slipping,
- 21:15and he's basically all put back together, and we can kind of continue
- 21:18on from there. Is there anything else in the first episode We wanted to
- 21:22just Sylvie that, but honestly we can get more into that in the second
- 21:26episode. Okay, all right. Episode two, Mobias are looking for Hunter
- 21:33x five, who has information on Sylvie, who Loki is desperately trying to
- 21:38find. Uh. They capture and they kind of mess with him a little
- 21:41bit until he reveals her location. Meanwhile, Judge Docks is pruning all branches
- 21:48of the Sacred timeline. There's a lot that happens in this episode, but
- 21:51that's more or less like the summary. Yeah, yeah, and that's really
- 21:59the main point. Right, Like the episode kind of starts, I mean,
- 22:07it starts like almost more chaotic than not chaotic, but more definitely more
- 22:11confusing than really the first episode, because they're just like hunting down Brad.
- 22:18Right at the beginning, We're just like, wait, what is going on
- 22:21right now? Like why are they here? Like why are they hunting Brad
- 22:22down? You know? And obviously we come to find out that like he
- 22:26was supposed to be hunting Sylvie and instead of hunting Sylvie, he is just
- 22:30parading around as a movie star in the past or on this timeline. And
- 22:37that was cool though, because we kind of got like a you know,
- 22:41we got a little bit of a chase scene. We got to see Loki
- 22:42use of magic, which is always a plus, especially the scene when he
- 22:49catches Brad and he's using two shadows to hold Brad against the wall and then
- 22:53there's three Lokis standing there and Mobius walks up and he's clearly talking to Loki
- 22:56in the middle, but all of a sudden you realize the Loki on the
- 23:00right is actually well the Loki technically depending on how you're looking, but the
- 23:04Loki to the left of them is the one who's in charge, so that
- 23:10I love scenes like that. Yeah, I love scenes like that, and
- 23:14uh, but the most important part of that episode obviously is uh is you
- 23:18know, the very end. But I guess we could probably talk about the
- 23:25I think my favorite part is the interrogation scenes with Brad and uh, yeah,
- 23:33I'm interested to see what you have to say before we get to that,
- 23:37or you can pick it up from there. I enjoyed watching this episode,
- 23:41and obviously I love this show. If the last episode was one of
- 23:45my favorite episodes from this from the Loki Show, I think this episode is
- 23:51my least favorite only because of how jarring it is, and it's not jarring
- 23:57in the idea of like in the first episode we literally hit the ground running.
- 24:02We hit the ground running in like a really weird way in this episode,
- 24:07like it feels like we're missing scenes before like we get into it,
- 24:12and I guess one of the reasons I feel that way is one thing I
- 24:15thought was really interesting when we meet brad Or, Hunter X five and Judge
- 24:19Ducks. In the first episode, we're clearly expanding on the TV right and
- 24:26we're getting kind of the fallout of what's happened in season one and watching the
- 24:30TVA tear itself apart as a result of them, and it kind of felt
- 24:33like we were going to explore that a bit more and kind of see like
- 24:40how the TVA kind of salvages itself at least as far as its organization goes,
- 24:45Whereas like this episode, it almost feels like it's like makes a decision
- 24:51of we're not doing that. We're gonna try and put this storyline down as
- 24:55fast as we can because we have other time travel stuff that we need to
- 24:59get to, which like, hey, I agree, I'm more interested in
- 25:02that stuff anyway. But it just seemed so startling to like just all of
- 25:08a sudden, just we're doing this now and me, Me, Loki,
- 25:14me Mobius and Hunter B five we lead the TVA now. I guess,
- 25:21yeah, very odd. Well, I mean they did kind of establish that,
- 25:26they kind of established that in that you know, the executive room,
- 25:32you know, in the first in the first episode, but like, yeah,
- 25:37it definitely was startling and it and it was you are correct. There
- 25:41definitely felt like it was like we're missing scenes, like we missed a scene,
- 25:45Like there's a scene that they didn't that we didn't get, and we're
- 25:48like, what's going on? And even like the interrogation scenes with Hunter x
- 25:53five like or Brad, he like he was actually either like really really good
- 26:03or the scenes are meant to feel very like almost strange, like I don't
- 26:11know how to describe it, like I was, I was, I really
- 26:12enjoyed them, but like his mannerisms like you know, like nothing matters,
- 26:18and it does you know, like let me go back to being a movie
- 26:25star and like I'm not gonna participate in your stupid game because this is all
- 26:30fake. And like it was so interesting how when we met him in the
- 26:38first life, right like he was clearly like having a problem coming to grips
- 26:42with everything. Yeah, and then all of a sudden this episode which like
- 26:47don't get me wrong, I think this progression makes sense, but we didn't
- 26:49get to see the progression, and all of a sudden in this episode he's
- 26:52just like nothing matters, like like logical logical conclusion, right, and you
- 27:00know, right, well, especially with what we find out later, Right,
- 27:03the reason nothing matters is because all these timelines are about to get branched,
- 27:07are about to get exploded, you know, completely mixed, and so
- 27:11he's just like he's in on the plane. He knows what's going to happen.
- 27:15Then nothing matters because it's all going back to one timeline very very quickly
- 27:19in his in his mind. So and then of course, like the scene
- 27:27when they come back to interrogate him for the second time and they bring that
- 27:30machine and they do you know, they they obviously they trick him into thinking
- 27:34that Loki's going off the off the reservation and just going completely nuts to get
- 27:40to basically, you know, pseudo torture him in a way. It's such
- 27:44a good it's always was lucky, but that was a great reminder of why
- 27:49we all originally fell in love with his performance. He's so good at being
- 27:55the villain, you know, being that like that evil person in the room.
- 27:59Totally yeah, yeah, yep, he's so good at that. And
- 28:03now you're just reminding me too of the scene when they're getting pie together,
- 28:07right, it's like the break. It's basically the scene between the first interrogation
- 28:11and the second one. Where they're getting pie trying to calm down Mobius because
- 28:14he's just got you know, he just got Brad got him good. And
- 28:18and Loki brings up He's like, yeah, I was. I was so
- 28:22upset. I was so upset with my brother and my father that I went
- 28:25down to New York City. You know, the whole city hostage was an
- 28:26alien army. Who does that? It's just making it like brushing it over
- 28:32like it was just like it was upset. That's hilarious. But like for
- 28:37him to say that kind of makes sense, like he's a god, Like,
- 28:40it kind of makes sense that that's how he would view it, right,
- 28:42Like it's not nearly as important, right, exactly right. It's instead
- 28:48of me like passively aggressively like not talking to you for a week if I
- 28:51was mad at you, he like is a god, so he can just
- 28:53have costage some random world. It was just a phase, right, no
- 29:00big deal. Yeah, And also really quick, I love this scene where
- 29:07you know, look, he's pressing Mobius and this is happening in the same
- 29:11scene with the with the pie eating. He's pressing Mobius about like, well,
- 29:15don't you want to know what your life was? And blah blah blah,
- 29:18and you know, like, don't you want to know if it was
- 29:21what if it was something bad? What if it was you know, what
- 29:22if it was something good? And he's just like, if it's something bad,
- 29:26I can handle. If it was something good, you know, I
- 29:27don't. I don't want to know. I'd rather this is my life,
- 29:30you know. So it's really it's it was such a cool episode because we
- 29:34got the juxtaposition of someone like Mobius who is like accept essentially accepted that his
- 29:40life is the TVA and he wants to do good here and he doesn't want
- 29:44to worry about what his life could have been before he who remains took him.
- 29:47But then you have someone like X five or Brad who is like,
- 29:52I had a life before none of this matters, you know, like total
- 29:57opposite thought process of mo basically, And so it's kind of cool to see
- 30:03the two sides basically right, and you get where both sides are coming from,
- 30:06and so like at the end of the episode, when we finally figure
- 30:10out what the whole uh plan has been, it's almost you can't you almost
- 30:18can't blame those members of the TVA for doing what they're doing. Uh,
- 30:22because yeah, you know, everyone's life is basically ripped apart with the knowledge
- 30:26of it all being fake. If you PI scene is really interesting. PI
- 30:33scene is really interesting. Hey, there's a weird kind of focus on pie
- 30:40in this episode, Like they're surrounded by pies. He talks about how much
- 30:45he loves the pie, right, and then like they go to McDonald's and
- 30:48like the first thing he says, like when they enter, he's like,
- 30:51Oh, I'm gonna get a slice of apple pie. Why do they keep
- 30:53fucking why do they keep bringing this up? Why do they keep talking about
- 30:56pie? I don't know that that's set off like my bills a little bit.
- 31:00It's like that feels weirdly on purpose. I don't know why. I
- 31:04just feel like pie is coming back in some kind of weird way something the
- 31:11time trying to bring back pie. One other thing about that as some alarms.
- 31:21The conversation when Moki and more Mobius Mobias are discussing who Mobius possibly could
- 31:30have been on the timeline you know, like you said, just want to
- 31:33know. She drops the phrase of I'd like to thank the guy who's responsible
- 31:42for me being here, right, like in a time travel show like that,
- 31:45feels like the sort of like line you put to like revisit later,
- 31:52right, Like, what do you think about that? Yeah? Yeah,
- 31:56yeah, I think I think he may regret maybe dramatic. Well, he
- 32:07he's meeting a very he just he met a variant in episode three, so
- 32:09you know he's getting closer like or something like. It's either like it's Hunter
- 32:20X possibly responsible for him being in the TV, which you know, he
- 32:23just got angry at him, right, or maybe maybe it's Loki right,
- 32:29like he's sitting in front of the man who who's responsible for him being there?
- 32:34Man? Can you imagine? Oh my god, I just had a
- 32:37vision. Can you imagine? Because Loki is so gung ho on, you
- 32:43know, his whole thing was he he paused at the end of time at
- 32:47season one and wanted to think about it and discuss possibly taking over the role
- 32:52of keeping the sacred timeline, and Sylvie was held bent on finishing her mission,
- 32:58which was to destroy He who Remains so that all these other countless lives
- 33:02could flourish basically, and what if the future of this basically is Loki is
- 33:10actually the one who like forms part of the TVA, right, Like,
- 33:22ah, this is now my mind is blown because I had a thought and
- 33:24then it just kind of got grabbed because we know He who remains did right.
- 33:30But there's there's a real chance because clearly Loki and He who Remains are
- 33:37aligned right with what their mission was. So there is a future possibly of
- 33:45this ending with Loki and He who remains actually working together to get the timeline
- 33:51back in order, which would mean Loki then is going to be the person
- 33:55to potentially recruit all of these TVA members. Glorious, this is it.
- 34:07We just figured it out. We figured it out. We figured it out.
- 34:10We just figured it out. Marvel, You're welcome, sorry or we're
- 34:15sorry, I guess for spoiler alert. Yeah, the title is going to
- 34:20be spoiler alert in these YouTube shorts. Uh, we figured it out.
- 34:24We figured it out. Direction that would just create like such a bigger division
- 34:30between him and Sylvie. Oh jeez. Now yeah, I don't see that
- 34:37working out very well, especially now, like and we can get into it
- 34:39now with how this the episode two ended, right like episode two ends,
- 34:45so like Sylvie's made peace, she's working at McDonald's. She's like, this
- 34:49is exactly what I want. I want a normal life. I know that
- 34:51there's a million of there's millions of people living now because of me. And
- 34:55then we find out very quickly once they all arrive there that a bigger plan
- 35:00in place, and a bunch of these branch timelines are about to be completely
- 35:02obliterated, and there's millions of lives are about to be lost. And this
- 35:07is something that I honestly did not foresee because I just the chaos sat ensued
- 35:14after they killed He who Remains was exactly what Sloey wanted. And I did
- 35:17not foresee half of the TVA like still being you know, aligned with He
- 35:28who Remains in TVA's original mission of the Sacred Timeline, right like, because
- 35:34we only got a couple shots of certain TVA members who knew that they had
- 35:38their lives taken from them and they wanted something else, and or members like
- 35:43Mobius who didn't want to kill people who are now alive because of a branch
- 35:50timeline, but wanted to maybe figure out how to deal with this in a
- 35:52different way. But there's obviously a whole slew of TVA members who are like,
- 35:57no, we have to get the Sacred Timeline back on track, just
- 35:59like Who Remains wanted. It would have wanted, and so like, this
- 36:04episode basically ends with just like you know, tons of branches being completely obliterated,
- 36:08which is essentially like where the low where it all kind of starts,
- 36:15and like you're in a way. I was like, well, what the
- 36:17hell is the point of all this? Like everything is like back to normal
- 36:22now, which technically I guess it's not, because I don't think we have
- 36:23one sacred timeline. Still there's a couple of branches because they did stop it.
- 36:28Yeah, there's still branches. They all got obliterated. I think,
- 36:31Wait, what was the point of all this? Because, like I mean,
- 36:35if the premiere is to be believed, the finale shows us the future,
- 36:39right, the future vision that we saw in the premiere tells us that
- 36:45the Loom is still going to get overloaded. So there's still more branches that
- 36:49are going to come. Yeah, I don't I don't know. God.
- 36:54Yeah, we really bum rush into that climax where they're just kicking ass,
- 37:00taken down the TVA agents, the rope TV agents. Yeah yeah, right,
- 37:08it happened super quick. We really don't have any answers, you know.
- 37:13Sylvie goes back to the TVA for a second and it's just like heartbroken
- 37:15because this is the exact opposite of what she wanted. And she's like blaming
- 37:19Loki and everyone else, which you know, I can't blame her for that.
- 37:23And then she goes back to her her her branch that was still there,
- 37:29and you know, it just hasn't been with one of the employees,
- 37:31which is like a little weird, but it's supposed to. Like, so
- 37:35we meet that kid at the end of episode one. Oh yeah, the
- 37:40kid definitely has a crush on her, but she's obviously too old for him,
- 37:45and like she's clearly given him a ride home a couple of times.
- 37:47It is very awkward. Today's it would not be appropriate episode. This is
- 37:53when I was getting at with five hundred five. It has this moment where
- 37:59she's looking at like their monitor and she's watching like how all the timelines are
- 38:04gone, right, And she says, like, she doesn't say the timelines
- 38:07are gone, she says those were people, right, which she's right.
- 38:10That is like really sad, But like we as the audience don't like really
- 38:15connect with that, right because like we can't imagine what that is. But
- 38:19like the timeline that Sylvie was just done did have like a sweet little kid,
- 38:24like who like loves his job at McDonald's, and like, I don't
- 38:29know why, Like if if we wanted to feel emotion for that same why
- 38:30didn't we spend more time with that character and then prone that timeline. Yeah,
- 38:37that's a great point. That's a fantastic point. You're absolutely that's a
- 38:40miss. That's a huge miss, because you're right, like, we didn't
- 38:45Sylvie has the same reaction would have if she would horrified, but we would
- 38:52have felt more more loss and we would have felt her loss more if that
- 38:57would have been the result with that timeline being a blater, which it wasn't
- 39:00to our knowledge, so based on the end of the episode scene, So,
- 39:06yeah, that's a great point. It'll be interesting to see why if
- 39:09we get a reason why, if there's if there's more to it, I
- 39:12think so No, I think I think we can move on to three.
- 39:15So what do you? Is there anything else? Loved it? So two?
- 39:19I was like, Oh, weird are three immediately restored my faith in
- 39:23this show. Not that it was lost, but I was like, uh,
- 39:28oh, maybe maybe this is a sign of bad things to come.
- 39:30Episode three, we follow rens Layer in miss minutes in Chicago eighteen sixty seven,
- 39:36where they deliver a copy of the TVA Handbook a handbook to the eighteen
- 39:40sixty eight Thank You Uh, where they deliver a copy of eighteen sixty eight
- 39:45handbook to the Boy who Will become He who remains. Loki and Obs go
- 39:50to eighteen ninety three, Have that right? All right? Cool? To
- 39:53eighteen ninety three, the time of the Chicago World's Fair. It becomes a
- 39:58rat race to Gratz who remains with all previously named parties and including Sylvie.
- 40:02Miss Minutes reveals her love for Heather remains, which is wild. Loki and
- 40:07Mobius managed to take he who remains to the TVA before Sylvie can kill him.
- 40:13Sylvie then sends Miss Minettes and Renslayer to the end of time, where
- 40:16Miss Minutes reveals she knows a secret about Renslayer. Here we are, yeah,
- 40:22insane, also true, that's a that's technically timely, right, not
- 40:28he he remains, so he has not become here remains, and that's a
- 40:34variant that isn't correct. He remains technically right, it's a variant if he
- 40:37he remains, so, it's mister, it's mister timely. But maybe it's
- 40:42it's also uh okay to call he remains because I think everyone it's it's just
- 40:46a nice everyone knows who you're talking about for the most part. But it's
- 40:51technically a variant. It's technically a variant if he he remains called mister Timeley
- 40:57who man. Yeah, it's kind of he's a swindler and he's like a
- 41:00swind leer in the eighteen eighteen. He's a con man. He's a very
- 41:06I was like, you know, he's actually like but he's a brilliant,
- 41:10but he's actually smart. Yeah, logically out of this world objects right,
- 41:15It's it's the yeah, it's the it's the classic thing of like man is
- 41:20too smart in his time frame was technology has not caught up to how smart
- 41:24he is. Kind of thing, right, Like it's like it was a
- 41:27really cool way to do that. But before we really get into the episode,
- 41:31the first thing I wrote down was the cartoony theme music. At the
- 41:35beginning. It's rag time music, like the carnival asque music. At the
- 41:40beginning, I was like, whoa, what is going on? Rag time?
- 41:44He was like, this is very cool. So it's very cool.
- 41:47And then once we got to the World's Fair. I was like, okay,
- 41:50it makes sure, I guess so, yeah, very cool. I'm
- 41:53not going to say his name. The man who is responsible for the MCU
- 41:58like music, like the MCU like studio logo music, Michael Giachana Gichino and
- 42:07bring him up. I don't know if if he's responsible for the rag time
- 42:10music. He probably is because he like he does like most of their stuff.
- 42:15Bring him up because he had his directorial debut last year at around this
- 42:22exact time for where Wolf by Night. So after like years of like working
- 42:29with Marvel in a music musical way, he got to have like an actual
- 42:32like movie project with Werewolf by Night, which just had its color debut uh
- 42:39this week, which we should review that. I'm just saying, that's a
- 42:45that's a really fun property we should get into for the record, right,
- 42:51we'll correct me. I didn't know this until I looked at up Neck.
- 42:55He's responsible for the music in The Man, recently Rogue one and for the
- 43:06last one, the last one. Oh yes, it's something that you guys
- 43:10as disgusting. Can I try to guess it? It's out. I'll give
- 43:17you a clue. It's not or Star Wars related Batman. It's old.
- 43:23Oh damn, it's old. I think it ended in two thousand and talking.
- 43:32Oh yeah, maybe too strong work. We both loved it when it
- 43:37was on. You both cherish it. Did you imagine? Could you imagine?
- 43:44Zoids? Like, what do we? Okay? Yu gi Oh,
- 43:47was a dumb thing for me to say that was that was stupid? Actually,
- 43:50and I don't know, I don't know why. Those are the two
- 43:54things I'm thinking of. Not superhero when it was on. Wait wait wait
- 44:00wait, but you said it's not superhero. Shit, No, I got
- 44:05it to tell me. Yeah, I didn't know that. Yeah, that's
- 44:08really cool. Lots nice, Oh fantastic. But yeah, I'm glad you
- 44:15brought up that. Uh that's right, that's a cool little super detail.
- 44:17Yeah, never apologize for you yet. And Zoid's comment anyway, moving on,
- 44:24so yeah's that's facts. That's facts only, Okay. So yeah,
- 44:29so we've we've got the timeline. We know where we are. We're in
- 44:32eighteen ninety three Chicago World's Fair. The first like eight minutes ten minutes of
- 44:38this episode, so like the second that we see Renslayer appear in eighteen sixty
- 44:44eight, I was like, oh my God, we're getting we're going to
- 44:46see Kang this episode, or he who remains like the variant, We're going
- 44:51to see Jonathan Major's in this episode. I knew it the second that the
- 44:55scene opened in eighteen sixty eight. I was like, Oh my god,
- 44:58this is it. And from that moment, it was literally like I feel
- 45:01like they were just like stretching a rubber band, like waiting for the moment
- 45:08to see him, because it was like they were just building the anticipation for
- 45:13me so well, and I was so excited. I was like, Oh
- 45:15my god, Oh my god, my god, when's he gonna come,
- 45:16When's he gonna go? And obviously they get a hit back at the TVA
- 45:22Movieus and Loki end up in in eighteen sixty eight. They don't see anything.
- 45:28They go to eighteen ninety three World's Fair and they realize quickly, okay,
- 45:31this is probably a great place to look around, and they see a
- 45:37cool little they see miss Minutes in a newspaper. It gives them an idea.
- 45:43They so that gives them direction basically of where to go for a They
- 45:46meet in this like you know, tent to esque place where there's gonna be
- 45:50like a demonstration or like a showcase if you will, And still the rubber
- 45:54band is like the tension is gripping, and we've got we get the silhouette
- 46:00of mister Timeley, the variant of he who remains, and he's like giving
- 46:05us a speech, and yeah, and then of course, like the lights
- 46:09turn on and you get like a close up and you're just like, oh
- 46:12my god, and and the and the fear in Loki's eyes was so good,
- 46:16like Hiddleston was just He's just so awesome and you could you could feel
- 46:22the fear. And Mobius is like this guy, he seems like a nice
- 46:23guy, like freaking Mobius man just doesn't listen. He has no idea.
- 46:30Oh man, it was so cool. It was such a cool first like
- 46:34ten like whether just like to meet him or variant that didn't appreciate that enough,
- 46:39because yeah, you're absolutely right, Like I forgot I looked it up,
- 46:44but I forgot who directs this episode. There is such a purposeful build
- 46:47up into like seeing him, and like what a great way to like show
- 46:52him then like an actual showcase at the World's Fair, no less right,
- 46:58So yeah, you're absolutely right, was a brilliant way to like unveil the
- 47:01character. Right, that's a really cool build up. And of course he's
- 47:06on stage. He's got this a loom basically that he's built back in the
- 47:10eighteen hundred. It's like you're just like, oh my god, this is
- 47:13like so interesting and and and I don't even know. And that's you know,
- 47:21that's when we find out shortly after that, you know, he's trying
- 47:23to sell his invention and he's just swindling basically any the you know, the
- 47:30rich of the person, the better. It's just earning a living basically creating
- 47:35real things, but also maybe not creating real things. Right, they're kind
- 47:38of you know, they maybe they break or they're not like very useful,
- 47:42and he's limited by his technology for you that anything you like, what else
- 47:51what do you got? Oh wait, yeah, this is still and they're
- 48:00inside the showcase. So this is like showcase ends and mister Timeley is trying
- 48:06to sell his prototype. And you know, obviously Loki and and Mobius have
- 48:13seen ren Slayer and now they're all like trying to get to mister Timely.
- 48:17But Loki accidentally like runs into this big guy. He like accidentally hits this
- 48:22big dude and this big guys like clearly like pissed off, and he wants
- 48:25to fight Loki, and eventually Loki's just tired of arguing with him, so
- 48:29he just like does magic and makes the guy disappear, and Mobias follows it
- 48:34up with the amazing Loki. Everyone all right, he claps it up and
- 48:37just like everyone just acts like it was like supposed to happen like that.
- 48:43I was laughing. That was that was like I forgot. I definitely see
- 48:51this before. Have you seen the movie Midnight in Paris? That's a That's
- 48:58a top ten movie for me and girl just because I'm a sicker for the
- 49:01subject matter. Not time drunk. Well, I'm actually this time travel.
- 49:06It's time travel movie. Yes, yes, and Nick, here's the best
- 49:10part of movie that I haven't seen. Its stars that doesn't any since,
- 49:17Yeah it does. No, I'm dead serious. They are in it together.
- 49:22I think, like you're kidding nine maybe twenty eleven when this is like
- 49:28one of my favorite time travel movies. I love this movie. I'm not
- 49:34even tell me your thoughts on it. So I'm watching this. I'm watching
- 49:37this, if not tonight tomorrow. It's us a writer who wants to can't
- 49:45wait to feel something. And I'll let the rest speak for itself. It's
- 49:50pretty good anyway. Okay, So uh, two things. One fun note.
- 49:55So at the beginning when Rensselaer Miss Minutes arrived in eighteen sixty eight in
- 50:02Chicago and they go to distribute what is revealed to be the TVA Handbook,
- 50:09and again I want to come back to that, you know how like we
- 50:14get like the banner that says like eighteen sixty eight. I thought this is
- 50:17a really interesting deta at that moment it says sacred timeline. Yeah, but
- 50:23then eighteen ninety three, Yeah, eighteen ninety three sacred timeline timelineably because the
- 50:30branch timeline when we see Loki and Mobius walk into it is presumably that's because
- 50:37of what they did. Yeah, I'm so glad you're bringing this up.
- 50:45Yeah, it's branch. It's branch because of the handbook being dropped. Yea,
- 50:51which is what he here remains wanted to because that correct plan that just
- 50:53goes like yet somehow a variant, you know, this variant timeline. I
- 51:00thought that was a really cool detail that they threw in there, right right.
- 51:07Also, so such a such a good detail interesting detail, and I'm
- 51:13not sure what to make of it. So there's a moment where also I
- 51:16love Owen Wilson being like deive self, where he's like, yeah, like
- 51:22I'm very cerebral, I absorb the area, you know, like he's very
- 51:27slow and methodical. And they come across statues of Norse gods Odin it's Thor
- 51:34and it's Boulder, and they have a conversation about that. It's like kind
- 51:40of emotional to see Loki like looking at them. Ends with a joke,
- 51:45and the joke is funny, but I was really interested why they chose Boulder
- 51:51the Brave. That's a character I don't think we've been introduced to in the
- 51:55MCU yet. It is technically a son of Odin. I think, Yeah,
- 52:02I just I thought it was weird, is it. I'm not sure
- 52:05if like if they're just trying to say like, yeah, no one remembers
- 52:07Loki, or like or if we are going to meet Bolter. I don't
- 52:12know, what do you think? Oh? Right, I don't think they
- 52:16don't. They don't do stuff like that off the cuff, right, Like,
- 52:19I wouldn't be surprised if he's in, if he's at least in talks
- 52:23and they're like, well, let's drop him in here in case we do
- 52:27something with him later. So that's set up already, you know, Like
- 52:30they do that stuff like that all the time. I think, right,
- 52:31like they'll drop it weird, especially because like Loki's like no one's heard it.
- 52:37That's a very interesting well and it's like, what's going on here?
- 52:45Yeah, no, you're right, Marvel. Does they do stuff like that.
- 52:49That's usually like yeah, m yeah, they they they we might come
- 52:53back. They don't have everything planned out, but they do little things like
- 52:55that where they're like, we're gonna do this. It doesn't mean we have
- 52:59to use it later, but if we do, it'll be cool that we
- 53:01did to use it now. Exactly. Yeah, totally, totally totally right.
- 53:06We'll sound really smart like we had it all planned out. So yeah,
- 53:09fast forward what you were saying. When we're after Victor Timley's demonstration,
- 53:15the race begins, Sylvia shows up ready to kill Victor, which I'm glad
- 53:22they gave an explanation for that, because when she first showed up, it
- 53:25was like shows up, yep, what and then the whole thing of like
- 53:30she tracked you. It was like, okay, all right, it was
- 53:34quick. That's acceptable. I'll take it. I'll take it. Yeah,
- 53:37we have a reason. I well, I don't think we've talked about this
- 53:43yet. You were waiting for Victor, not Victor Tony, for Jonathan Majors
- 53:47as King and you know, but something else I was waiting for was Miss
- 53:53Minutes after the sixth episode of the first season, it was fascinated with that
- 54:00character. What is she? And she she reveals that in this episode.
- 54:09She she's a very sophisticated construct. She's a singularity love that joke, right,
- 54:17you're quite singular, quite singular, yourself clever, and she's a singularity
- 54:24that, like I guess, brings him and is in love with him.
- 54:29Mm hmm. She's a super sophisticated AI that was allowed to develop her own
- 54:37consciousness basically, and she's just she's like a part of hers in love with
- 54:43you remains. And there was like there was like a moment where I was
- 54:46like, we're in a love triangle. This is a freaking love triangle,
- 54:50Like what is going on right now? It's an AI love trigle. Totally
- 54:53honestly, it was. It's totally ridiculous. I'm very glad. I am
- 54:58very glad that they they nipped that that was very quickly. But because I
- 55:04was, I was, I was that was like what they're doing right now,
- 55:07like kind of coming out of nowhere. I was like there was like
- 55:12I was like, this is alarmingly hilarious, you know that kind of way
- 55:15like and then very quickly yeah, of course, of course. And and
- 55:21then this minutes like talks timely into throwing Rens Slayer overboard, and that that
- 55:24was a big moment because then Rens Slayer realizes, Okay, maybe she's by
- 55:28herself, and I love it. It's pretty much when the love triangle once
- 55:35that happened. I think in a moment she drops the word look forward like
- 55:43our partnership or whatever that she says in the partners so like read before that
- 55:47like in the background, like this minute is like staring at them right yeah,
- 55:53and then like after she says that, like Victor, thank god you.
- 56:00Yeah, she very clearly like looks relaxed, and I love like what
- 56:02they do here, Like they cut back to Rinslayer and then they cut back
- 56:06to Victor with miss minutes in the background. This minute just like looking off
- 56:09into the distance. She's got a smile on it, and she's just like
- 56:12very like gently like kicking her legs like in the wind. I just I
- 56:16loved how like relaxed that was. It's like that was, Yeah, that
- 56:21was such a great indicator of like, ah, all going according to plan.
- 56:25So weird, Yeah it you know, and and I don't hate I
- 56:31don't hate that. We like this is really the first time we've seen Miss
- 56:36Minutes like actually have like us. It made us realize that, like she's
- 56:39how sophisticated of an AI system she actually is because she has her own consciousness
- 56:43that can make her own decisions and this is all This is the first time
- 56:45we're actually finding that out and even seeing it at work. Like any other
- 56:51time, we could make the case that she's just doing what she was set
- 56:54up to do. This was the first episode that we've seen her like yeah,
- 56:59have her own you know, like will her own free will, which
- 57:02is another big thing about this episode. Right, So so that was interesting
- 57:07and I didn't I wasn't like against it or anything, but it was definitely
- 57:09weird because it did kind of feel like it came out of nowhere, although
- 57:13I guess they explained it pretty well. But yeah, like that was super
- 57:19super funny. I wrote down in my notes two things. I was like,
- 57:22I don't even remember what happened when I said this, but it was
- 57:25like in my notes, it's like Miss Minutes and then she's crazy, I
- 57:31wrote after that, she's I think she might be the most dangerous person or
- 57:37a character in the show at the moment, because she is, like I
- 57:39said, a AI fully singularity A singular AI was like free will. That's
- 57:46so she's a cartoon cloth. Yeah, she knows everything, so she might
- 57:59be the most right, she might be the most important and more miss character.
- 58:05Actually what happens there before, especially because he gave light to a line
- 58:13she drops in the first season. So I watched the whole first season before
- 58:15coming to the first episode, and in season season one, episode two,
- 58:21at the beginning, if you recall once, Loki is like on board with
- 58:23the g VA and he's like gonna help Mobius with the mission. Right beginning
- 58:30of that episode, he's sitting at a desk with Miss Minutes and he's I'm
- 58:35not sure if he's reading the handbook or he's like going over a video.
- 58:37I think he's going to a video and Miss Minutes is trying to explain something,
- 58:42and he starts like swatting Miss Minutes and she's like, ah, stop
- 58:45that, Hey, stop it, And Loki asked the question what are you
- 58:50Are you a recording or are you alive? She says, well, kind
- 58:55of both, and like it's at the time it's kind of like a quirky,
- 59:01like funny line, but like looking back on it now, it's like,
- 59:05oh, shure, Like there was a lot of truth in that line,
- 59:07like, yeah, she's a recording and yes she's alive. It was
- 59:13it was neat to see that line come full circle here right. Also her
- 59:17implanting her face onto a mannequin, Yeah, super scared. You know when
- 59:25we got into that room, the first thing the room was because it was
- 59:32like, he's in Inventor. Why are there tons of mannequins everywhere? And
- 59:37they still didn't answer that question, but it became very clear why the director
- 59:40wanted mannequins in the room very fast. That was a very uncomfortable scene and
- 59:45I loved it right right right, well, yeah, I liked the comparison
- 59:55kind of too, right, Like there was a little bit of contrast between
- 59:59Miss Minutes and that moment and Ultron because Oltron is very sophisticated AI who wanted
- 1:00:05his own body and created on himself, so there is very miss minutes ends
- 1:00:09up creating her own point too because if she gets powerful enough, so this
- 1:00:15is gonna be very interesting to see what happens. Very interesting. Yeah.
- 1:00:20In that scene though, right when they're still there, Sylvia ends up coming
- 1:00:22back, and she comes back at an awesome moment. Ren Slayer is giving
- 1:00:27this speech. I don't know if you recognize this, but rens Slayer is
- 1:00:30giving this speech and I actually don't remember exactly what the speech is about,
- 1:00:37but it's about order, right and like getting her way or whatever. And
- 1:00:43the last thing that rensselayor says is I'm order. She refers to herself as
- 1:00:47being order, and Sylvie appears, and in my head, I was like,
- 1:00:53and there's chaos I thought of when Sylvia appeared, So I was like,
- 1:01:00I wonder if that I was like they had to have done that on
- 1:01:00purpose, because like Rensselaer was giving this awesome speech that ends with order,
- 1:01:05and then Sylvie like appears and it's just like completely like you know, makes
- 1:01:09the whole space because she's obviously trying to kill Timely. Yeah, that was
- 1:01:16a cool scene. And then of course yeah because like, yeah, she
- 1:01:22comes in, you know, she comes in, she's like blows everything up,
- 1:01:23so everyone gets knocked out, and then she goes to to the variant
- 1:01:29Timely, and Timely makes the case. It makes he fights for his life
- 1:01:34and what works and Sylvie down and that she was very interested by the TV,
- 1:01:42like she like they've rolled reverse, right, like yeah right, yeah
- 1:01:50right, that's such a great point. That is such a great point.
- 1:01:54Yeah, Sylvie's literally been him, literally her whole life. When she was
- 1:01:58running from the t V A because they were hunting her for something she hadn't
- 1:02:01done and she for something he had done. So I actually felt like Sophia
- 1:02:08Di Martino's performance in that, like listening to Victory, Like I actually found
- 1:02:14that like really touching. It was very emotional, you know, like when
- 1:02:17like the realization of like what she's become and like what she's about to do
- 1:02:23and how she can't go through with it. For that reason, I love
- 1:02:27that performance. Yeah, yeah, she was. She was fantastic. And
- 1:02:36then yeah, after that, yeah, yes, okay, So after that,
- 1:02:39Loki and Mobias and Timely go back to the TVA and there's one last
- 1:02:47look from Mobius to rent Layer and then Mobius walks through the door and this
- 1:02:53is this is an awesome scene here at the very end of the episode where
- 1:03:00you know, Sylvia and Renslayer are talking basically and Sylvie's like, I've dreamed
- 1:03:04about killing you hundreds of different ways and the most gruesome ways possible, and
- 1:03:09but what you really want is power, and you want to be with He
- 1:03:15who remains at the time, and so you can. It's basically, I'm
- 1:03:23going to send you to be with him at the end of time. Yeah,
- 1:03:25I care for what you wish for a line and kicks her to the
- 1:03:30end of time with He who remains his dead body. What are the totals?
- 1:03:37Totally savage like h and that is an insane that was that was wild
- 1:03:43because you can see that, you know, to us, it really hasn't
- 1:03:47been that long. It feels like since He who Remains was killed, you
- 1:03:53know, three episodes prior at the end of season one, and because season
- 1:03:59two picks up right away. But his body looked pretty decayed for it being
- 1:04:04so such a short time. So I wonder what the actual time slippage there
- 1:04:10is. I don't know, it might yeah, it's not like, yeah,
- 1:04:16there's no Yeah, it's probably aither thing. It's not like a very
- 1:04:21important thing, I'm sure detail, But the important detail comes when Miss Minutes
- 1:04:26comes back and uh or none of it does exactly perfectly. I did no,
- 1:04:41I'm glad. I'm glad you did it. Time Travel, am I
- 1:04:45right? Damn it? Come on now, I had to finish it for
- 1:04:54you, time Travel, am I right? Either it all makes sense or
- 1:04:59none of it does. It's got in any movie. Yeah, it's one
- 1:05:12of the best, one of the best for sure. Anyway, so real
- 1:05:15quick. The last the last part of this episode is Miss Minutes, Like
- 1:05:19renst Slayer brings back Miss Minutes at the end of time with he who remains,
- 1:05:26and Miss Minutes doesn't feel worried at all, but she drops like a
- 1:05:30she drops a hint that there's a huge secret that rens Slayer doesn't know about
- 1:05:34herself. And and that's like the cliffhanger we get left on which the only
- 1:05:43thing I can really think of, I have no idea, any idea what
- 1:05:46it could. Like the way that episode ended, it's gotta be a secret
- 1:05:50that we also don't know related to like, because like rens Slayer doesn't know
- 1:05:58he's already did in Boots with he who remains right, as we learned in
- 1:06:04that recording, So like it's got to be something related to that. But
- 1:06:10yeah, no, no idea, what though, you know what I thought
- 1:06:13for a moment real quick, You know what I thought for a moment.
- 1:06:15Yeah, it's gonna be interesting. I'm super excited. There was a moment.
- 1:06:19Definitely the best episode. I think there's still a chance that this is
- 1:06:23true. I wonder if Miss Minutes and Ravona Renslayer are the same person.
- 1:06:32Yeah, like or like Ravona like maybe she doesn't make it or something,
- 1:06:38and like the AI that is like based on her or something. Yeah,
- 1:06:44based on her. Yeah, that's a great point too, question for you.
- 1:06:47There's so many ways to go here. Every episode has had a focus
- 1:06:51there gonna be very interesting. Every episode it's come up and they want us
- 1:06:57to remember or Boros wrote the book. It even came up in the third
- 1:07:01episode. We even see a picture of him, just in case we forgot
- 1:07:04that adorable man. What is so it didn't really it didn't really sit off
- 1:07:09an alarm bell until that moment, until like we see that, what do
- 1:07:13you think that's about? Because like that's that's way too intentional, Like they
- 1:07:15really want us to remember that. Mm hmmm mm hmm. Yeah, every
- 1:07:20every episode really hit him basically for writing it very interesting. He remains like
- 1:07:30like he's definitely higger deal than we and we know him as right now,
- 1:07:36right, Like yeah, there's that's the thing. There's so many there are
- 1:07:42so many like little things that could happen, like Loki, like we said
- 1:07:45earlier in our episode here, like Loki could actually be in some weird roundabout
- 1:07:51way part of the reason the TV exists, right, like or ob could
- 1:07:58be a reason, right, yeah, you could go in so many different
- 1:08:02It's it's a brain flog. I mean, my brain is overloading because there's
- 1:08:08so many possibilities. But it's like, you know, we were led to
- 1:08:13believe that like He Who Remains and Kang the Conqueror, like they're there,
- 1:08:16they are the guys to worry about, but well, there are other people
- 1:08:21at play who could could have played huge roles, it seems. So.
- 1:08:27He says that she was the film that like tilted the scales in his favor,
- 1:08:32So like, what was it the Rintler brought to the because you're in
- 1:08:36that's a dangerous player there, we don't know exactly what. Going back to
- 1:08:42Obi for a second, I just wanted to ask you if you were aware
- 1:08:45of this, do you know what that name means? Or Boros So I
- 1:08:49was only familiar with this because of my love for Full Metal Alchemist or Boros
- 1:08:56is like, no, the snake that is eating itself so like it represents
- 1:09:00Infinity. That's having trouble reconciling that, Thank you, sir, But but
- 1:09:13that's actually I have no idea how to think about that. That's uh,
- 1:09:17like Obi's Infinity game that's time travel using a Mobius strip. It was just
- 1:09:28something like that. But like, now that we're in episode three, they
- 1:09:30keep stressing the importance of this. Man, I'm like, all right,
- 1:09:33maybe it's not just a cute name that they came up for him. Maybe
- 1:09:36this is something else. It's so fun. Yeah, oh man, this
- 1:09:42is interesting. I love this. This is the best Marvel TV show for
- 1:09:45sure. They're crushing it. It's so good. All right, well we
- 1:09:48don't we don't do scores here because we're not done yet, but we'll see.
- 1:09:53We'll be back weeks with the final four. We get to the end
- 1:09:58discussion on the last three episodes. So good, I don't know if this
- 1:10:01is gonna happen. We don't really have any evidence of it, but I
- 1:10:03hope that there's some connection to Quantumnia. The next three episodes. I hope
- 1:10:11we get an explanation because there's been a lot of theories about how Scott Lang
- 1:10:15came back to a different timeline after Quantumnia and how and how King isn't dead
- 1:10:24because we know that King the Conqueror will return based on the end of the
- 1:10:28movie. So I really, I really hope we get some kind of dot
- 1:10:33connecting. And if we're not going to get an answer, I doubt,
- 1:10:38but we're going to at least maybe have another, like another little piece of
- 1:10:45evidence on like what possibly has happened that I hope we get a bread crumb
- 1:10:48at least the very least that links us somehow to Quantumnian King the Conqueror,
- 1:10:54that would be. That's what I hope happens somehow. But I really really
- 1:11:00don't have things. I have no idea what like this is. It's it's
- 1:11:04really exciting. What about episode one? Also here's my two more wild X
- 1:11:15five recruited Mobius into the TV And also time Pie is a thing I don't
- 1:11:21know what the last one means. I don't know what it means, but
- 1:11:26it's a thing, a thing. Listen of all them, of all of
- 1:11:31them. I hope you're well being insanity that time Pie actually are being a
- 1:11:35thing, because I think you'll be more disappointed here we are not just because
- 1:11:42we're run out of time doesn't meanmore. Uh well, we'll be there in
- 1:11:45three episodes from now, But until then, neither of you bes
