- 0:06Hello, What's your least favorite scary movie?
- 0:10Hello and welcome to What's your least favorite scary movie?
- 0:14The podcaster we talk about the good, the bad, the ugly and the
- 0:18absurd, and all of our favorite and least favorite scary movies,
- 0:21because we believe every horror movie rightfully has its fan
- 0:23base. Even if we don't always get it.
- 0:25My name is Travis. My name is Jesse and we are back
- 0:29with another. Bonus episode live, uncut,
- 0:33mostly undrawn entirely. Yeah, we usually use pictures
- 0:38for these. Yeah, that's true.
- 0:40We're wrapping up Scream officially.
- 0:44We covered Scream Six last month and now we're going to do as has
- 0:50become a tradition here at the end of the franchise, we are
- 0:52going to rank the series. On a gut feeling.
- 0:57And then we're gonna go and compare it to our actual in
- 1:00episode End of discussion ratings, right?
- 1:04Yes. So Travis, what was your method
- 1:10for ranking these movies? Like you said, man, I just went
- 1:13with my gut. I felt like out of the three
- 1:16franchises that we've covered so far, that this was the easiest
- 1:20for me to rank OK, mostly because there are less movies,
- 1:24so there's like less to shuffle around.
- 1:27Yeah. But like, the way that I feel
- 1:29about these movies are all pretty strong.
- 1:32So I just kind of didn't really have much of an issue.
- 1:35Okay, what about you? So this is one of my absolute
- 1:40favorite franchises of all time, horror or non horror.
- 1:47And God, I could talk all day about the.
- 1:52Why? Each movie deserves a different
- 1:54place on the list. You know, I could go back and
- 1:56forth arguing with myself. At the end of the day, I went
- 1:58with what, Which movie am I constantly going back to to want
- 2:03to rewatch? Which one do I think about the
- 2:06most when I think of Scream as a franchise?
- 2:09The only one that got a little bit weird for me was Scream 6
- 2:11because it is so new. Yeah.
- 2:13So that was a little bit tricky. And so maybe you know whenever
- 2:17Scream Seven's eventually released and.
- 2:20We've had time to let all of these sit with us for a while.
- 2:23It'll be different, yeah. And like we said, we will cover
- 2:27that. Whenever it does come out, we'll
- 2:29just continue the franchise. It won't be part of franchise
- 2:32coverage anymore. We wrapped this much of it up.
- 2:35Yeah, Okay. Cool.
- 2:38Well, all right, so we've got our rankings.
- 2:41Yes, we already made the list each ourselves, so let's go
- 2:47ahead and do it. We're gonna start from our least
- 2:48favorite and work our way up to our favorites.
- 2:51And I'm gonna give a very hard disclaimer for myself right now.
- 2:55These are all so closely ranked. Like it is not, it's they.
- 3:03I love these movies so much and saying like one of them in the
- 3:07franchise is like 6th place for me doesn't mean that I think
- 3:10it's like a bad movie. Or even necessarily that.
- 3:13I think it's the worst of the bunch.
- 3:14It's that we don't do ties with this.
- 3:17Yeah, yeah, you gotta pick one. So it's really just like
- 3:21splitting hairs for me. I'll agree.
- 3:23Yeah. I mean, I think this is the one
- 3:26top to bottom like the most quality of franchise we've
- 3:29talked about. Stacked Yeah it it's it is hard
- 3:33to it was a little bit hard to pick my top three I think, but
- 3:37after I did that my bottom three were a lot easier to pick.
- 3:40Yeah. Okay.
- 3:42All right, cool. So you start off since this was
- 3:45your favorite. Okay your franchise, baby.
- 3:49As of today I'm putting screen 5 aka 5 Cream aka screen 2022.
- 3:58I go back and forth on this movie so much, but I think
- 4:01because of that, at the end of the day, it makes the most sense
- 4:04for it to take that that ranking for me.
- 4:07Yeah, out of all of them, this is the only one that I hear you
- 4:10like wave on just a little bit. So yeah, I think it's fair for
- 4:15you and that it would be at the bottom.
- 4:18Yeah. It is also my least favorite,
- 4:21the franchise. When we talked about the
- 4:24episode, I was very clear that it is my least favorite, and
- 4:28this one is my. Least favorite?
- 4:29Yeah. I think we both still rated it
- 4:31pretty high, too. Yeah.
- 4:32I mean, it's just, you know, still a good horror movie, still
- 4:36a good movie. But stacked up against the rest
- 4:38of the franchise, I just don't think it holds up.
- 4:40And that's one of the only ones that I really can pick apart a
- 4:45couple of times. The rest of them, I can't really
- 4:48do that as much, but I can really hone in on the things
- 4:51that I don't like about 5:00. Well, pause.
- 4:53It was such a transitional. Phase for the franchise, even
- 4:57more so than Scream Four, was because it was like a whole new
- 5:01team involved. New director, new writer.
- 5:04Yeah, it was a whole new and new cast.
- 5:06Yeah, it is tough. I mean, but I don't know.
- 5:11I'm not gonna give it any slack because of that because it is
- 5:15part of the franchise, so it's gotta be ranked somewhere.
- 5:18All right. All right.
- 5:19What's your next least favorite? Again, this is very much
- 5:23splitting. Hairs scream.
- 5:25Three. OK, I care to explain what.
- 5:31Really. It was just that I felt stronger
- 5:33about other ones being higher on the list, yeah.
- 5:36Not like I know. People like to shit on Scream 3
- 5:39and that's fine. They're entitled to their wrong
- 5:41opinions. I think it's a fun movie.
- 5:44I have. I have a lot of fun with it.
- 5:46It's just. Splitting hairs?
- 5:50Really. Yeah.
- 5:51Scream Three would probably be at the bottom of most people's
- 5:54rankings. It's mine, too.
- 5:58It's my second least favorite. I still really, really like that
- 6:03movie. I think it's a lot of fun.
- 6:05I think it's the most campy Scream movie that we get, which
- 6:08is great because I like it whenever these franchises make a
- 6:13like, turn into camp. And it's this.
- 6:18This series has comedy, but this was the most over the top.
- 6:23Yeah. And you also have the novelty of
- 6:25having one ghost face, which is nice.
- 6:35I just think from a writing perspective, it makes things a
- 6:39lot harder for yourself to, like, have to account for a
- 6:42single person instead of two. I like that personally.
- 6:29I know a lot of people like having two ghost faces, but
- 6:32like, I kind of like that it's something different from the
- 6:34rest of the. Which is why I think they lean
- 6:45more into the camp. They're like, OK, let's just
- 6:47rent that shit up, make a house explode, no smell in the gas,
- 6:50nothing. I love the house exploding
- 6:54scene. That is one of my favorites.
- 6:56I love it too. A lot of people hate it.
- 6:58How can you hate a house exploding?
- 7:01I mean, it's always fun. Also, Patrick Warburton's in it.
- 7:05Dew Drop. Dew Drop.
- 7:08I fucking love the nickname of Dew Drop or Dewey.
- 7:11He will forever be Dew Drop. We will be meeting David
- 7:14Arquette the way to. We will call him Dew Drop.
- 7:17I might have him sign. Can you sign that dew drop?
- 7:21Actually, yeah, if I ever meet Patrick Warburton, that might be
- 7:25better for him, but I don't see myself ever meeting him.
- 7:28'Cause I, you know, I I don't think he would.
- 7:30He's not. He wouldn't be any of these
- 7:33cons, I don't think. Maybe Comic Con.
- 7:35Yeah, I'm gonna say I could see Comic Con, but maybe not like a
- 7:38horror based convention. OK.
- 7:41What's your next one? OK.
- 7:43My next one was Scream 6. OK?
- 7:46And I was mostly just because I'm trying.
- 7:49I I am giving it room for growth.
- 7:53It's it's so new. I don't want to like push it way
- 7:57up there and it just be like a novelty thing, OK.
- 8:00I think it's really, really incredible.
- 8:02It's just going against other movies that have like.
- 8:07That longevity for me already, Yeah, you know that that's
- 8:10really its newness is what is hurting it.
- 8:13Yeah. Don't knock it though, for you
- 8:15know, like. If you knocking it for being new
- 8:17and I'm just saying no, I'm just trying to say like, you know,
- 8:19like like trust your gut man going on gut fillings.
- 8:23If you really, really enjoyed it and you feel like you might
- 8:26enjoy it more than some of the old ones.
- 8:28And like, you know, I don't think that there's anything
- 8:31wrong with putting it there. Like we've had time with it came
- 8:33out in February. We've watched it twice now, you
- 8:36know. I feel like we can say that we
- 8:39like it a lot confidently at this point.
- 8:42Well, and now that we're done covering screen, it's gonna be a
- 8:44lot easier for us to just put them on casually again so we
- 8:47don't have to worry about like, oh, are we covering this too
- 8:50soon? Yeah, so that'll that'll help
- 8:53because we can easily put that in the rotation.
- 8:56That's gonna be tough with Saw because that's like our go to
- 8:59just put shit on movie. Ohh.
- 9:01Shit, we watched a marathon of it last weekend.
- 9:04I like that is it's. It's gonna be a little bit hard,
- 9:08but I think we'll find a way to make it work because the hardest
- 9:11one is gonna be in six months when we're getting close to saw
- 9:14six. Yeah, man, 60 boy.
- 9:19OK, so my next least favorite one kind of there in the middle.
- 9:25Or your next most favorite. My next most favorite, I guess.
- 9:28Yeah. Number Speed glass half full
- 9:30here. OK, my #4 movie Thank you.
- 9:32Number #4. #4 the number 4. Movie The phone is actually
- 9:39Scream 4. Okay.
- 9:42I like Scream 4A lot. Don't get me wrong, I know that
- 9:46you love it. It's one of your favorites.
- 9:47I know that we have people that listen, that it's also some of
- 9:50their most favorite, but stacked up against the rest of them.
- 9:58It just feels right being #4. For me, it is it's.
- 10:06I don't know, I like the remake aspect of it, but I don't know.
- 10:13It just feels like a four. I feel like the others are above
- 10:16it, Okay. So I can't really explain myself
- 10:20more than that. All right.
- 10:23My third is Scream Two. Okay it.
- 10:31It's definitely a solid entry, and I think if you'd asked me
- 10:34six months ago where it was, I would say it was my #2 on my
- 10:37list. But I don't know.
- 10:40After going through it and picking apart like the franchise
- 10:43as a whole, 3 feels like the right right bit right placement
- 10:48for. It Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 10:49Because I like that they're in college.
- 10:51I like that. It's still kind of lighthearted.
- 10:53We've seen Sidney grow up some, but she still like, has a little
- 10:58bit of that, like. Youth in her.
- 11:01And by youth, I mean like the things that come along with
- 11:05youth, like Mae the Tay and stuff like that.
- 11:07She's a little bit more hardened, but she's still open
- 11:09to experience. I think it's an important part
- 11:12in her arc, yeah. And I do like the opening of it,
- 11:17I do too. Yeah.
- 11:20So that's that's where that's at for me.
- 11:22It's my #3 also. OK, that's one of those ones.
- 11:25Yeah, it used to be my #2 also, but like it learning about the
- 11:32making of it. I think, you know, you kind of
- 11:35learn how things were originally going to be and then you see how
- 11:38it plays out and it kind of does make you like see some of the
- 11:43flaws in the movie because they had to rush certain things or
- 11:46they were rewriting things same day changing characters.
- 11:49Like the Killers are probably some of the weakest in that,
- 11:53like Billy's mom. It makes sense.
- 11:55I get Billy's mom, like, but Timothy Olyphant, like, they
- 12:01definitely just threw him in there to be like, well, nobody
- 12:06gets this guy and this one didn't leak out.
- 12:08So, you know, it has to be somebody that nobody expected.
- 12:11Yeah. Scream Two is kind of like your
- 12:13friend. That's really solid.
- 12:15You can hang out with, you can go to, like, you know,
- 12:18commiserate with. But you also know if you go out
- 12:22to the bars with, she's gonna get a little sloppy drunk.
- 12:24Yeah, like, exactly. I think that's a great way to
- 12:28put that, but I do love it a lot because I like the set pieces.
- 12:33I like. I mean, it's our last movie with
- 12:35Randy. Randy is one of my favorite
- 12:37characters. It introduces the ridiculous
- 12:40Dewey limp, which is always a lot of fun to watch.
- 12:44Also, Speaking of to me, the all of time we get Billy's.
- 12:50One of the best line deliveries in the franchise.
- 12:54You even have the the whole debate in the movie class and
- 12:58Randy gets the I like that Randy gets something wrong and I don't
- 13:02know if that was meant to be intentional or not.
- 13:04OK, you clearly don't remember this from when we recorded, so
- 13:07it was the guy that he was arguing with kept messing up his
- 13:11line. And they finally got like a good
- 13:15take, except the guy said the correct line.
- 13:18So Randy, just like, well, Jamie, Jamie, yeah, he just
- 13:23rolled with it and said the incorrect line and it was the
- 13:26only usable take they had. So that's how that happened.
- 13:30That's kind of funny. Like, I kind of just like, in a
- 13:33way, he ended up getting the wrong take, and that was the
- 13:37best take. Yeah.
- 13:39Well, OK, whatever. I like it.
- 13:41It's a fun movie. I mean, I think that one is one
- 13:43of the stronger openings. I like the crowded movie
- 13:45theater. Strong cast.
- 13:49Yeah, you get Buffy in it. Yeah, yeah, 97 was a great year
- 13:55for SMG. And then you get the I know
- 13:57people hate it, but I fucking love.
- 14:00That I think I love you. So what am I so afraid of?
- 14:04I'm afraid that I'm not sure. Yeah.
- 14:07Ohh, man, I love it. That's good.
- 14:09It's cheesy. All right #2.
- 14:13Scream Four. I knew it.
- 14:14Yeah. I love it.
- 14:17It's. I liked the opening within an
- 14:20opening within an opening. I love Emma Roberts, obviously.
- 14:24I love how blatant she was about making it a remake.
- 14:28I think that was like a great commentary after the aughts, was
- 14:31just full of remakes. Yeah.
- 14:33And this is also the first scream I got to see in theaters,
- 14:36so it holds a special like nostalgic.
- 14:39In my heart, I think it's interesting that there's also a
- 14:41culkin in it. Yeah, I'm always fascinated.
- 14:45Whenever a culkin is a movie, I'm like, my God, this is a
- 14:47culkin. And it doesn't matter how many
- 14:49times when you've seen that, that and the Michael Cera.
- 14:55With the comic book. With the comic book.
- 14:57Oh, Scott Pilgrim, thank you. It's a different culkin for that
- 15:00one. I know.
- 15:00I don't even know their names. I'm just like, oh, it's a
- 15:02culkin. It doesn't matter how many times
- 15:04we watch those movies, every single time a culkin appears on
- 15:07the screen, we're like, oh, it's a culkin.
- 15:09It's like like we see them in a while.
- 15:12Don't, don't, don't spook it. There's a.
- 15:14Culkin It's just like, I don't know.
- 15:16It's just like an amazing experience.
- 15:19I can't explain it. OK, my #2 is 6.
- 15:24OK, so I feel pretty comfortable after 2 watches and after a
- 15:30couple months placing this one as my second favorite, there was
- 15:35a time that I almost thought of like it as tied with one for me.
- 15:39OK, I think it's just honestly, it is the most fun.
- 15:45It's the most fun screen movie because it has the most
- 15:49entertaining set pieces. Radio silence was fully, like,
- 15:54settled in at that point. They've gotten us introduced,
- 15:57their characters. They had a lot of fun just going
- 16:00for it. Plus the return of Hayden
- 16:01Panettiere. I didn't even mention her when I
- 16:03was talking about Screen 4, so yeah, she's great.
- 16:06I loved having her in that too. That was a good way to bring her
- 16:09back. And I like that they made it to
- 16:10where she can be connected with all the other screen movies
- 16:13going forward since yeah, she focuses on Ghostface attacks,
- 16:17so. I wonder if she could be kind of
- 16:19like the new Dewey. Newey.
- 16:21No, we already got Chad, dude. Chad is the new Dewey.
- 16:25He's been stabbed too many times to not be the new Dewey.
- 16:27Come on. The essence of Dewey was like
- 16:29split in half and half of it was gifted to Chad and half of it
- 16:33was gifted to Kirby. I like that there is one thing,
- 16:37one criticism I do have about that movie is their first movie.
- 16:41They were so fucking hell bent on saying our movie has stakes.
- 16:46Like we whenever people get stabbed, it matters.
- 16:48But then and scream six. Most of the Core 4 gets stabbed,
- 16:54Chad gets fucking eviscerated, and they all live like there
- 16:59were no stakes in that movie. Everybody just survives.
- 17:03Seriously, The Core 4 is intact. Kirby's there, just the killers
- 17:07die. That's it.
- 17:09And Annika. But we all forget about Annika.
- 17:12They forgot about Annika. Nobody cares about Annika.
- 17:15Also, Tim Robinson. Tim Robinson.
- 17:18I don't think he died. Oh, he did die.
- 17:20Yeah, he did die. OK, well, never mind.
- 17:22I think it would have been better if they actually had Tim
- 17:24Robinson's body there like it was.
- 17:26It was just his voice. But.
- 17:28I can see that being like a bit. And I think you should leave
- 17:31like he's a dead body, but he's like making a face.
- 17:34Yeah, I. Can see that too.
- 17:37But yeah, I mean seriously. Like just the set pieces.
- 17:40The ghost face is so fun to watch from that.
- 17:42The fucking shotgun scene in the Bodega is my favorite.
- 17:47And like the setting of New York City, like, it's just it's cool.
- 17:51I like it a lot. Yeah.
- 17:53All right. And we both obviously know what
- 17:55our scream. Yeah, the original Scream is our
- 17:58favorite. Don't fuck with the original.
- 18:00I think that, I mean that's been the case for all of our
- 18:02franchises so far. But like the original, like it's
- 18:06really tough to take over an original whenever.
- 18:09Like it's a long going franchise because is a ongoing franchise.
- 18:13Usually it's because the original was so solid.
- 18:15I could maybe see that happening with saw with me.
- 18:18It not being that's the one was my number one.
- 18:20That's the one that I am thinking that we can.
- 18:22Make I am pretty sure that the original Friday the 13th was not
- 18:27my #1 Sir. Oh, you're.
- 18:29Right. I'm very vocally anti Friday One
- 18:33I was, I was wrong. Yeah.
- 18:34Four was my favorite in that. What was your favorite?
- 18:38I can't remember it. Manhattan.
- 18:40Ohh, that's right, it's Manhattan.
- 18:42Wow. Yeah, the New York ones, man,
- 18:44they were always ring tie. You go to New York, NY, dude.
- 18:47We need to take Halloween to New York.
- 18:49I saw that thing where they, like somebody shared the image
- 18:52of Halloween quotes, and I want that.
- 18:54I want Michael Myers in space. I think it's.
- 18:57Great. Michael versus Jason in space,
- 19:01do it. Yeah, do it.
- 19:04I mean, do we need to say anything about the original
- 19:07screen like it's a fucking classic?
- 19:09Yeah, I mean it just, it doesn't get any better.
- 19:13It did so much for horror. I like the meta shit.
- 19:18I understand a lot of people, don't I?
- 19:22I'm a person that I have consistently used both horror
- 19:25and humor to cope with various things in my life.
- 19:28So the merging of the two, acknowledging the tropes,
- 19:31acknowledging how silly it can be, and acknowledging how it can
- 19:33still be scary even if it's overdone and it just it really
- 19:37appeals to me. I don't know.
- 19:40I just, I I love this franchise, yeah, so much.
- 19:44It means so much to me. I even though I wasn't old
- 19:48enough at the time to really understand the impact it had on
- 19:51the genre, I still appreciate what it did do because it
- 19:56introduced a whole subgenre of slashers that I really enjoy.
- 20:00I love the scream like whodunit type slashers like urban legend.
- 20:04I know what you did last summer. Cry wolf.
- 20:07Cry Wolf, Valentine. You know, all of those.
- 20:11It's a lot of fun. Like, it's a nice little
- 20:13subgenre. Reignited interest in the whole
- 20:17genre, and so Azure's are the fucking best.
- 20:18So if there's anything out there that saves my favorite horror
- 20:22subgenre, then fuck yeah. Whatever it takes to
- 20:25reinvigorate it. Yeah, I don't care.
- 20:27It doesn't just fucking do it. And it screamed at it.
- 20:30So, yeah, yeah. OK.
- 20:32So. So that's our list.
- 20:34That's our list. And thank you to everybody who's
- 20:37ever been involved with Scream in some way, shape, or form.
- 20:41It's truly a privilege to live in a timeline where this
- 20:45franchise exists. I am super excited to see where
- 20:48it goes next with 7th, but yes, I'm very excited that
- 20:51Christopher Landon is taking over.
- 20:55Hold on, we're gonna be talking about our hopes and dreams for
- 20:59the franchise at the end, but we need to figure out where these
- 21:02rank with our rankings from this.
- 21:04Like our coverage? Ohh, yes we do.
- 21:07OK, I forgot about that piece of.
- 21:09It Let's pause it real quick, and we're gonna.
- 21:10Get that compared here and we're gonna see how we stack up.
- 21:13We're gonna math it real quick. OK, OK, OK.
- 21:16And we're back. So we were both actually pretty
- 21:21much on the nose. Oh, really?
- 21:23With our rankings? Awesome.
- 21:24OK cool. The only thing is my screen 6
- 21:27should actually be in 3rd. I gave it the same rank.
- 21:31I gave it the same score as I did screen 4.
- 21:34Oh, OK, so they're tied. Yeah.
- 21:36OK so I had a 7 for screen, 58.5 for scream, 39 for scream, 29.75
- 21:47for both scream four and scream, 6 and 10 for scream.
- 21:52OK, all right. Read yours out loud for me.
- 21:56I want to see how that compares. I don't remember what yours was.
- 21:59So my least favorite was 5. OK, that is correct.
- 22:03You had a 7 for that. OK, which we had the same score
- 22:06for that? Next up was three, also correct.
- 22:10You had a 7.75. OK, a little bit harsh.
- 22:13What? Was your name 8.5?
- 22:15Hey man, it's how I feel. Next up, four.
- 22:21Yes. Well, yeah, you're four and two
- 22:24are the same score. 98. I'll give two and four.
- 22:29Eight. Yeah.
- 22:30What the? You were really harsh, man.
- 22:32Well, you know, I think it's kind of nice to, you know, I
- 22:35don't want to just gift out nines and 10s all over the
- 22:38place. Okay they are and I feel like
- 22:41they should be nines, so okay. So add four and two.
- 22:45So those are tied 69.5. Okay.
- 22:49Yep. And then 10 for A1, obviously.
- 22:51Yeah, Fuck yeah, I got it. I nailed it.
- 22:54Yeah. We, our gut reactions are
- 22:56actually pretty close to realities.
- 22:58I mean it's been an easy series for me to rank always I think.
- 23:02I think it's been like. You know, it's kind of like
- 23:05Final Destination. Like, I can pick there is a
- 23:07solid series top to the bottom, but like, I can definitely tell
- 23:11you which ones are my favorites. I feel like I would have a bunch
- 23:14of ties. Like I could definitely, I could
- 23:17tear them, you know? But I I like doing a sequential
- 23:22list. Like this was really hard for
- 23:24me. OK, well, I'm really proud of
- 23:26myself. I don't know if I'll ever be
- 23:28able to do that again, be able to match it up perfectly with my
- 23:31rankings, because. Usually it's like all over the
- 23:33place. I remember my Halloween one was
- 23:35like, really shocking to me. Cool.
- 23:40All right, so that's it for our rankings.
- 23:42Now we can talk about our hopes and dreams for the future, which
- 23:46is confirmed. We have a 7 on the way.
- 23:49I just. I hope that we I would like to
- 23:57see more of the Core 4. OK.
- 23:58So continue with the cast, Yes. OK.
- 24:01I think that it's important to keep the cast.
- 24:04That's part of what works well for this franchise is having
- 24:09continuing characters that you relate to.
- 24:11It's funny because in other franchises it's like the killer
- 24:15stays the same and all of the supporting characters change.
- 24:20But it's kind of been the inverse with Scream, and I think
- 24:22that's part of what makes it special.
- 24:24And I'd like to, you know, we've gotten to know these characters
- 24:26and really like them, and I'd like to keep them around.
- 24:29I don't need anymore of the Sam Dad storyline though.
- 24:34Yeah, totally drop that. Yeah, I feel like they wrap that
- 24:37up nicely in six. Yeah, she was over it.
- 24:40Yeah. For me, I mean, we got a new
- 24:44director, new writers, obviously sends us, you know, Radio
- 24:46Silence wrote and directed. So I actually would like
- 24:53Christopher Landon to make it his own and maybe do his own
- 24:57thing with it. If he wants to do a new cast of
- 25:00characters, I'm totally on board with that, I think.
- 25:04Oh, sorry. I think it would be cool to use
- 25:07Kirby's character as a way to explore other situations, like
- 25:12she can go and be in any city. It could continue to be
- 25:17Woodsboro. It could be just anywhere
- 25:19throughout the United States. Possibilities are in the list.
- 25:24I don't necessarily feel like we have to stick with the core
- 25:27four. I feel like their story is kind
- 25:30of done. I don't really see where else it
- 25:32could go. I feel like Sam got her closure.
- 25:36I feel like Tara is. I don't really.
- 25:40She didn't really have anything. Like it's basically been Sam.
- 25:43She's been the one that is being tied to all this, other than
- 25:47like other people being inspired by the Stab movies, which have
- 25:50been the past two. And then also it was kind of
- 25:55like a redo of scream two, unless they do another scream
- 25:59three and they have a secret brother or like, I mean, I would
- 26:03love to see a true crime direction with it because true
- 26:06crime is so popular, you know? Well, then I would feel like
- 26:09that would be fitting with Kirby's, so that would be
- 26:11fitting with Kirby. It could also be fitting with
- 26:13like, you know, kind of another homage to the original trilogy
- 26:16with Scream Three perhaps. You know, there's a docu series
- 26:19going on and if we think about the Ted Bundy docu series that
- 26:23just happened where there was a lot of issues from some of the
- 26:29like real life families of victims, you know?
- 26:33Talking about Jeffrey Dahmer. Jeffrey Dahmer, whatever.
- 26:37Another white murderer who gets vitalized, like, whatever.
- 26:41Like I just I I think that would be an interesting take on it.
- 26:45If that's still, you know, socially relevant by the time
- 26:48this comes out. I also, I just really like
- 26:50Christopher Landon's POV on things.
- 26:54He's got a sense of humor and an appreciation for horror, and
- 26:57he's got a unique mind and I'd like to see, I'd like to see
- 27:02what he can do with this. The only serious horror movie
- 27:06I've seen him do. His Paranormal Activity and his
- 27:11other two slashers, Happy Death Days, both of them and Freaky.
- 27:15Freaky. I feel like lean more heavily on
- 27:17the comedy side, which, I don't know.
- 27:20Is he gonna do that with Scream? I don't know.
- 27:22If he made it more of a comedy. I don't think I would like that.
- 27:25I mean, you just defended the campiness of Scream 3.
- 27:28But that doesn't make it a comedy.
- 27:29It's just camping. Like camping and comedy are two
- 27:31separate things like. I just like if he makes it can't
- 27:36be. That's cool.
- 27:37I'm all on board with that. But like, you know, I have
- 27:39faith. I have faith too.
- 27:42I'm really excited to see what happens.
- 27:44I it sucks for radio silence. I have a feeling they wanted to
- 27:47do a full trilogy. I think they're already signed
- 27:50on for like another project or something.
- 27:52I think that's what the issue is.
- 27:54Yeah, there, But I was reading about that they were working on
- 27:59a movie, but they've already finished filming it.
- 28:01So, like, the schedule conflict really shouldn't have been that
- 28:04much of an issue. I don't.
- 28:06Maybe there's other things behind the scenes that happen.
- 28:08Maybe we'll know more down the line.
- 28:10But, you know, whatever. Let's just pass it off to
- 28:13somebody else. Let's see what happens, you
- 28:14know? Yeah, I'm excited.
- 28:17Okay. I think that's it.
- 28:19All right. I think we're ready to pass the
- 28:21torch to Saw, yes. And actually that'll be coming
- 28:26out later this week on Thursday. So be ready for that.
- 28:31We're very excited to talk about it for the next 10 months.
- 28:34Yeah, Saw is one of our favorite franchises.
- 28:37Yeah, we're going to have, you know, similar.
- 28:40We've had a lot to say about all of our ongoing franchise
- 28:43coverage, but I think this one is going to be extra special for
- 28:48us, I think. This one's going to be more
- 28:51wild. It's going to be more of a
- 28:52roller coaster because this series goes off the fucking
- 28:54rails, yeah? It's wild, man.
- 28:57It's a soap opera with blood. We start off with super Serious
- 29:01movie #1 and then we get it all the way up to Piranha.
- 29:05Ohh. You would be surprised like you
- 29:07get my notes for the first one that it's a super serious movie.
- 29:12Yeah, the way I took notes on it, I.
- 29:14Mean. There are funny things about it,
- 29:15but I feel like it's the movie that plays it the most straight
- 29:18out of this. Ohh, definitely.
- 29:19Definitely. Yeah, that and two two is pretty
- 29:22straight too. Yeah, yeah, definitely.
- 29:25All right, cool. So we're actually gonna be
- 29:26talking about that ourselves here after we stop recording
- 29:29this. So yeah.
- 29:30And we'll have that episode later this week.
- 29:32Yeah. So look forward to it.
- 29:34Yeah. Be on the lookout.
- 29:35Get excited. Yeah, cuz we are all right.
- 29:39All right. We'll see you guys in the
- 29:42future. Ooh, that's right.
- 29:46All right. Bye.
- 29:47Bye.
