Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Labor is preparing the King's Speech in the UK. This
- 0:03Speaker 1: is Keir Starmer's new Labor government with twenty five to
- 0:06Speaker 1: thirty bills reportedly going to be introduced Kevin Grays in
- 0:09Speaker 1: the UK for US, Kevin, what are they looking at?
- 0:12Speaker 1: What are they going to start with?
- 0:14Speaker 2: Right? And it's looking like a list of pretty much
- 0:16Speaker 2: what they promised at the start. We don't know yet.
- 0:18Speaker 2: This is ahead of Wednesday's King's Speech. The king Speech
- 0:21Speaker 2: is basically when the government of the day outlines its
- 0:25Speaker 2: a legislative program what it hopes to achieve in that time.
- 0:29Speaker 2: So it looks like we're going to get new promises
- 0:33Speaker 2: on house building. Big shortage of housing over here, very
- 0:36Speaker 2: difficult for first time buyers to get on the ladder,
- 0:39Speaker 2: and one way this government is determined to do it
- 0:41Speaker 2: is to build more houses. The question is we're a
- 0:43Speaker 2: small country, so where are you going to put them?
- 0:46Speaker 2: Improving transport that'll be pretty popular, particularly some of the
- 0:49Speaker 2: links outside of London which are so good, and also
- 0:52Speaker 2: increasing jobs and securing clean energy. They want to set
- 0:56Speaker 2: up a sort of national GB Energy company and a
- 0:59Speaker 2: real driving towards more solar energy and more on shore
- 1:06Speaker 2: solar and more onshore wind as well. Many people again
- 1:10Speaker 2: very concerned about what our countryside is going to look like,
- 1:12Speaker 2: thirty five bills in total. We'll wait to see what
- 1:15Speaker 2: comes out.
- 1:15Speaker 1: All right, and of course in an hour about an
- 1:17Speaker 1: hour and fifteen, you're going to be quite busy watching
- 1:19Speaker 1: the telly I mentioned.
- 1:21Speaker 2: Yes, so the Euro's Final between England and Spain. Of
- 1:25Speaker 2: course I have to say you Spain are the bookie's
- 1:29Speaker 2: favorites eleven to eight on England thirteen to ten. So
- 1:33Speaker 2: a little bit in it, not too much. As we
- 1:35Speaker 2: go into this, it's been believed in not fifty eight
- 1:38Speaker 2: years since England last won a major championship. You have
- 1:42Speaker 2: to go back to the World Cup of nineteen sixty six.
- 1:45Speaker 2: There have been four hundred and fifty seven players who
- 1:47Speaker 2: have represented England since then, and well eleven managers as well,
- 1:53Speaker 2: so it's been a time. Of course. I have to
- 1:56Speaker 2: say that the English play so far haven't been great
- 2:00Speaker 2: in the tournament. They managed to get through, but it
- 2:02Speaker 2: has been pretty negative and defensive at times. The Spanish
- 2:05Speaker 2: play is completely opposite, very open, very free flowing, very quick.
- 2:10Speaker 2: It'll be interesting to see these two sides come head
- 2:12Speaker 2: to head in an Iron ten.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Good luck, Devin Gavin Gray, Are you can europe correspondent
