- 0:01Hey everybody, welcome to the good morning from the Chicken
- 0:04Coop podcast. My name is Kim Johnson and I am
- 0:07a mastermindset coach, creative strategist, and also happen to
- 0:10be a farmer. This is my chicken coop and I
- 0:12come out here every day to record a podcast to teach
- 0:16distinctions, possibilities, new ways of thinking, and just bring
- 0:20some joy into the world. So welcome to the coop and let's
- 0:23start your day off in a fantastic way.
- 0:28Hey everybody, good morning. And it is very early morning
- 0:32when I'm recording this. So today I want to talk to you
- 0:35as just a reminder. This is not going to be a long
- 0:38thing. This is just going to be a quick
- 0:40reminder today because I recognize how we get so caught
- 0:46up as human beings when things shift and change and we have to
- 0:51do stuff and it's all the burdens on us and, you know,
- 0:56getting our kids to school, doing whatever for the families.
- 0:59We all have these different things and it doesn't matter who
- 1:02you are, they show up somehow. Whether it's caring for dogs,
- 1:05kids, whatever it might be, we all have it.
- 1:09Now, with that being said, this is a quick reminder, a public
- 1:13service announcement, if you will, that this won't last
- 1:16forever. And today is a very hectic day
- 1:21on my schedule, and most of my days are very hectic, but
- 1:26they're very manageable because I can do stuff and be up early,
- 1:32get things organized and it's all good.
- 1:34Like I can get it all done way ahead of time.
- 1:36And I feel very good about that. But there are days now with my
- 1:40son who when he's dry, he has to be driven somewhere or, you
- 1:44know, working for his apprenticeship and doing all
- 1:47this stuff that it affects me because I have to get up early
- 1:50and get him somewhere. I mean, like, I have to get out
- 1:53earlier. And so getting up even earlier,
- 1:56like, no joke, there are days when I have so much to do.
- 1:59Now I'm up at 3:00 instead of four because I know I'm not
- 2:03going to get it all done if I don't.
- 2:05So yes, I go to bed early. I do all those things, but this
- 2:09isn't about that. What this is about is
- 2:11recognizing that we as human beings don't have the pleasure
- 2:15of having all of this stuff forever.
- 2:18People grow up and people move on.
- 2:21And this morning when I was packing his lunch and I was
- 2:24running around trying to figure out, OK, I did, I run out of
- 2:28this. Where is this?
- 2:29I need to put this in his lunch because he's going to be gone
- 2:31all day working at his apprenticeship and I won't be
- 2:35able to make him lunch during the day.
- 2:37I was like, holy cow, OK, I'm not going to pack lunches
- 2:41forever. And then I, my phone chimed and
- 2:44I grabbed it and I looked at it and it was one of my clients
- 2:49saying, hey, you know, her mom was rushed to the hospital.
- 2:52And I'm like, huh, OK, this is just another reminder.
- 2:56So today in a very quick podcast today, while you can clearly
- 3:01hear in the background that I'm running around, I'm running
- 3:05around happy and I'm running around grateful that I get to
- 3:08pack a lunch. Because someday I will be
- 3:10sitting somewhere and I will be thinking about how I wish I was
- 3:14packing lunches, how I wish I could do all the things that I
- 3:17was doing now, how everything now that looks like it's a
- 3:21problem then I will wish for. And I know it because I hear it
- 3:26from clients day after day after day.
- 3:29And I watch what happened in my own family with my mother and
- 3:33how she would say, oh, I wish those days were were here when I
- 3:37could go and grab, you know, my daughter at the time when she
- 3:40was little and take her out for a Greek salad because they loved
- 3:43Greek salads together. And I, I look at this and I can
- 3:47really say with all the confidence in the world that we
- 3:51will all be in that spot someday.
- 3:53So if you're having that kind of a day, we're running around and
- 3:56it's crazy, Just stop and pause and remember someday you'll wish
- 4:00you had that back because it does mean something to us and it
- 4:03does feel good. So I hope you guys have a
- 4:06blessed day and I will see you all tomorrow when I am not
- 4:13standing on the porch, I will be out of the chicken coop.
- 4:15All right, my friends, take care.
- 4:17Bye.
