- 0:00Welcome to Cannabis School. I'm your host, Jesse Angeles.
- 0:03And I'm Brandon Elder. And we're here to talk to you
- 0:05about everything pertaining to cannabis from vape.
- 0:09Flour. Edibles.
- 0:10Strains and everything in between.
- 0:13Oh my God. Louise.
- 0:14Cough your guts out, that's what.
- 0:16That's what the title of this episode is.
- 0:18Cough your guts out. Welcome back, kids.
- 0:20Oh, hello. So today we are going to be
- 0:23trying some. I guess we already have tried a.
- 0:26Little And I'm so glad we did before we started recording.
- 0:30Hopefully it helps us to being able to not cough as much
- 0:33because this is blue Pluto today.
- 0:35Holy shit. Yeah, and it is a very coffee
- 0:37strain at the beginning. Very Piney smelling strain too.
- 0:40I enjoy it. I enjoy the Piney strains.
- 0:43You can tell, but man, that. Cough, it just got me in the
- 0:46back of the lungs. I did this one the other night
- 0:48while we were racing and holy shit it was brutal.
- 0:52I mean it was amazing. That was a great night racing
- 0:55but like. Oh yeah?
- 0:55You kick my trash. You absolutely obliterated me.
- 0:58No, it's awesome, man. I mean, you were just in the
- 1:00zone. And that's the thing too.
- 1:02Like when you're looking at strain, sometimes you get into
- 1:04the zone with certain things. Like one thing for me used to be
- 1:08is I would have these edibles during the daytime when I was
- 1:11working in the insurance world. By the way, I'm no longer in the
- 1:14insurance world. Yeah, Jesse's hunting too.
- 1:17Looking for a new home? Yeah.
- 1:19And, and, and we'll, we'll talk a little bit more about certain
- 1:22things in there in the next session.
- 1:23But you know, you want to be productive with certain strains
- 1:27or you want to get out of it. So let's take two different
- 1:30parts from my world right now, right when I'm in the zone I
- 1:35need not always a sativa. Yeah.
- 1:38Sometimes I need a good hybrid that maybe a little into
- 1:41killeening just to kind of chill me out and keep me going.
- 1:44I. Think it depends on the anxiety
- 1:45level of the day and the stress levels.
- 1:47If I am feeling more stressed or, and or anxious and
- 1:51potentially in pain, I'll learn more towards like the indica
- 1:54hybrid or an indica dominant one.
- 1:57But if I'm not feeling anxious or that sometimes I'll learn
- 2:00more to the sativa dominant 1 where I'm like, all right, these
- 2:03terpenes are going to be a lot better for focus.
- 2:05I'm already not feeling anxious. It's a pretty good mindset or
- 2:08wherever I'm at for the day, right?
- 2:10But yeah, I think that can make a big difference in the
- 2:14effectiveness of your productivity at work or whatever
- 2:17you're doing. Well, and another thing is that
- 2:19many people don't associate with it is that your current
- 2:23psychological state or what we call a mood will drastically
- 2:28affect how this cannabis is going to affect your body.
- 2:31So one that we really love. Halle Berry.
- 2:34Beautiful string here. Very purpley really.
- 2:36Low THC percentage like 1890? No, Maybe it's 19.
- 2:40Yeah, it's about 19 but very chill feel.
- 2:42But then I went through, I lost my job.
- 2:45And with that I was just like, my anxiety was high.
- 2:50But I'm like, no, I'm going to be Coco.
- 2:51I understand what's going on. I'm very self aware.
- 2:54We're OK. As I start dealing with it, my
- 2:56body knows that we're stressed out, that things are going on.
- 3:00You know, the, the body know. And I'm just like, OK, I need to
- 3:03regulate my body. So I went to Halle Berry and I
- 3:06smoke Halle Berry. Then I started getting real
- 3:09anxious and I'm like, you know what?
- 3:11I'm going to go to a hard end to come.
- 3:12I'm going to go to ice cream cake.
- 3:14I go to ice cream cake and I'm just calm.
- 3:16So what strains may be really good for sleep, may be really
- 3:21great for getting you under control and not freaking out.
- 3:25I believe that freaking out is the point where problems start.
- 3:30It's not the problem itself. The problem is a solution to be
- 3:33solved, but the problem can be just like.
- 3:36Me when we freak out, we are no longer actively in a good state
- 3:40to work on solutions, right? But we're in that moment of
- 3:44freaking outgoing. I need all the solutions and I
- 3:46have to fix it and. Yet reactive.
- 3:47Yeah, and reactive is never anywhere near as effective as
- 3:52just being proactive with it. Well, not even proactive, but
- 3:55just being, but by being in the moment, like just going, is this
- 3:59affecting me? Can I make a big change on it?
- 4:02I know this is logical, but I need to make sure that I'm okay.
- 4:05And it it sometimes feels out of control.
- 4:07But you've done this before where you've been able to pull
- 4:10yourself out of a really shitty state, but you needed help.
- 4:13And that's where I feel cannabis is like a really good like
- 4:15buffer. Honestly, I mean, cannabis is
- 4:18huge, but even in those moments when I am like stressed or
- 4:22shitty, like I can't overcome whatever it is, that's when I
- 4:26turn to meditation even within there, because it is usually
- 4:30it's the what am I thinking about?
- 4:32What is my mind? And it's like, OK, well, my mind
- 4:34is here. This is what I'm thinking about.
- 4:36This is what it's ruminating over and why I can't get off of
- 4:39this top. And so then I'm like, all right,
- 4:42well, meditation has just allowed me to go, all right,
- 4:44stop. Like you can't change that.
- 4:46And even throughout the meditation, if I'm not
- 4:48meditating more regularly, half, 80% of that meditation is my
- 4:53mind just thinking. But it's those couple moments
- 4:55within that meditation of like, all right, no, I'm actually
- 4:58focused on the breath. I'm doing box breathing or
- 5:00tactical breathing or whatever you want to call it, or I'm
- 5:02doing different breathing things.
- 5:04And that has been able to really just clear that mind because
- 5:08aside from that, it is it's like so stressful sometimes.
- 5:11And like Finn's moving up here in July and I'm sitting here
- 5:16going, shoot, I can navigate the life where I'm at now, but I
- 5:20need to have this in place for this to happen.
- 5:24So it's just this added layer of stress where I'm excited, but
- 5:27I'm also like. But it's.
- 5:29Stressing in the back of my head constantly of like, all right.
- 5:33And so it's it's these times of like yesterday even I was doing
- 5:36a couple of breaths and I noticed when I was using
- 5:39cannabis and I was breathing, not only did I actually feel the
- 5:42cannabis more, my whole body calmed down.
- 5:44Yeah. I was like, oh, I don't know why
- 5:46I don't do this more. Well, for me, like I've, I've
- 5:49tried the meditation approach and people like, oh, you need to
- 5:52be calm. But the thing too I'm, I'm
- 5:53thinking is, is that I can put myself in meditative states
- 5:57where I don't have to be in a breathing state because the
- 6:01where my mind tends to go, I can't focus and I start going
- 6:05there and I lose that. But but I find that certain
- 6:10types of music. I tried that one that you were
- 6:13telling me. About which one the 808 D is OK,
- 6:18it depends on, as I said, it's really hit or miss.
- 6:20It depends on the artist on who designs it, not some of them
- 6:24sound really cool and it depends on the headphones.
- 6:26Yeah, but the Airpod Pro should do it.
- 6:28But it's again it's. It was the music itself and then
- 6:32like the the sound of the voices and stuff, I'm like, no, I don't
- 6:36need that. That's distracting for me.
- 6:39Like synth wave, music is meditated.
- 6:42Yeah, that wouldn't be a sit down and focus kind of music.
- 6:45Oh no. No, it's just like any type of
- 6:47man. Like I tried to listen to but it
- 6:49would be. Not your jam, I mean, yeah, No,
- 6:52I mean, OK, I like trying it. It was really cool.
- 6:55I just was like, I was trying what I was trying to get from.
- 6:58It was the same thing that I get from my flow state meeting.
- 7:01Playlist, not that. My flow state is thoughts
- 7:04sinking in and going straight. I don't get distracted on it and
- 7:09and I've seen things like that, like EDM for the ADHD.
- 7:13Mine is medicine. I've I saw a post like that and
- 7:15I'm like, you know what? I wouldn't I wouldn't argue with
- 7:18their there because I go, oh, this is where the things go it.
- 7:22It's like what cannabis does to me without that.
- 7:24And then when I add cannabis to it, it heightens my sense.
- 7:27So I start to figure my shit out.
- 7:29Like I go for walks, that's my meditation for me.
- 7:32Or I go into a state where I'm just like, I just need to allow
- 7:36my body to stop. And especially at the beginning
- 7:38of meditation, it is so hard because that is all that it is,
- 7:42is my mind doesn't stop. Oh, I'm not doing this right.
- 7:45Oh, I suck. This is a horrible practice.
- 7:47I can't meditate. I can't do this because that's
- 7:49what the constant is. And it takes so long.
- 7:52It's like any practice. The first bit, when you first go
- 7:55to the gym and you look like me, yeah, you can't do that many
- 7:58reps. You look like shit, You feel
- 8:00like shit and you're doing 510 lbs.
- 8:02I'd be. And then you're like, oh, I
- 8:04don't want to come back to the gym 'cause I, yeah.
- 8:07So then it's that battle of I, I don't want to do that.
- 8:10Well, and, and I, I mean, and that's a good, that's a good
- 8:13point. And that's where I'd, I'd push
- 8:15back on that one is that meditation isn't a practice like
- 8:19religion where you do it one way.
- 8:20It's just. A practice of.
- 8:21Of stating your mind. Continuous practice, but I
- 8:25think. Into that.
- 8:25State that's the problem is most of us try it once and go, oh, I
- 8:29don't want to do that. It's not.
- 8:30Practice is not really a practice.
- 8:32It's. I tried meditation.
- 8:34I did this the. Only other meditation I've
- 8:36really enjoyed was like a group breath work, it was the most
- 8:39intense. That was still a meditation.
- 8:41Yeah, it was a meditation. It was great.
- 8:42And it was just breath work. But that's what I was saying,
- 8:44Like with me, the meditative state I get into usually.
- 8:48Be ever had anything the same as that breath work experience?
- 8:52No Psychedelically, no. And that wasn't a social
- 8:55experience. I mean, it was psychedelic
- 8:57feeling, but you weren't on psychedelics.
- 9:00No, not at all. It was the most intense.
- 9:03Yeah, well, that's like the Wim Hof breathing that I did right
- 9:05where I have never experienced that type of euphoria on dude.
- 9:10You know, in the best orgasm you feel that like, but it's no, no,
- 9:15no, I mean, I've had amazing orgasms, but like that
- 9:18meditation was I've never felt it through every fiber of every
- 9:21part of like it was just this whole weird sensation of the.
- 9:27Craziest thing for me during breath work was when I wasn't
- 9:30able to consciously control my breathing anymore, like it was
- 9:34overtaken and was going on its own.
- 9:36Yeah. And I know the sequence of
- 9:38breaths and, and where it got me to that state and I really
- 9:41enjoyed it. But yeah.
- 9:43But if you did that, like in those states where you feel
- 9:45super shitty in that if you could access that, but it's so
- 9:48hard Yeah, to it was a guided thing through this whole and
- 9:52you'd never done that before. No, no, I've never experienced
- 9:55that same level on a meditation cause I've not done the same
- 9:59breath work when I did a Wim Hof.
- 10:00But to me, that was a a breathing technique.
- 10:04Yeah, meditation. No, I like that too.
- 10:06And I'm, I'm wanting to get into that as well, understanding that
- 10:09with my body, I mean, the one thing I really loved about the
- 10:11breath work thing is that my lung capacity probably increased
- 10:15by 20% because I was able to breathe better and able to focus
- 10:20on, I mean it, it was pretty amazing.
- 10:23The one thing I would say though, don't ever go to a
- 10:26breath work thing right after you smoked a bowl because your
- 10:29mouth's gonna get dry. It'll be so dry.
- 10:31Oh my gosh. It'd be just like gritty
- 10:33sandpaper there. You're like, but it's I really
- 10:36like, you know, And in talking back into the meditative state,
- 10:39talking about blue Pluto, we're a few minutes in.
- 10:42We're about 10-15 minutes into this feeling.
- 10:44I'm feeling pretty good. It's really heady.
- 10:46It's on the back of my head. Very, very heady.
- 10:49Yeah, it's really heady. My body doesn't feel it.
- 10:53I just feel it from the inside out on my head, like it feels
- 10:56like it's inside kind of well. It's like constant pressure on
- 11:00on my on the back of my neck, up into my the, the crown.
- 11:05Is it the crown or the base Base of my skull?
- 11:08You. Think the crown's the top?
- 11:09Yeah, yeah. Crown's here, so the base of my
- 11:11skull right here, I can feel it, but it's like almost like
- 11:14somebody squeezing my neck. So there's a little bit of
- 11:17tension. Yeah, but that that's to be
- 11:20understandable. This is more of an indica
- 11:22leaning. Yeah, it's supposed to be an
- 11:24indica dominant hybrid from mixing Pluto Kush and some
- 11:29unknown strain to get Blue Pluto.
- 11:31The weird thing is though, I don't get the pain relieving, I
- 11:34get more tension. But it's supposed to be just
- 11:37more like calming and a little bit relaxing.
- 11:40I don't know if it has a lot of pain.
- 11:42Yeah because like I can feel my the pain from my last workout
- 11:46like and that was 2 days ago and my arm workout like I blew the
- 11:49shit out of those arms and now like my left tricep I can.
- 11:53Feel all of it crazy. But that's a cool sensation
- 11:59because like before I got here, I didn't feel that at all.
- 12:02So. Interesting you know where.
- 12:04Now you. Yeah, Well, I see this is more
- 12:07of like a self calibration strain.
- 12:09Like where am I at? Like I can talk about things
- 12:12going on in my head, like you were talking about meditation
- 12:14and I'm talking about like different types of meditative
- 12:17states, flow states of where you get into a good mindset to kind
- 12:21of figure out your shit. And this strain really is more
- 12:26focused on that. So I'm I'm aware of my body and
- 12:29I'm aware of my mind. You know what I thought was
- 12:31interesting? I was listening to some book the
- 12:34other day and it was talking about box breathing which is
- 12:37common for like meditation. What's box breathing?
- 12:394 second breath hold for 4/4 second out breath hold for four.
- 12:43So that's what I learned when I've been through the breath.
- 12:44Tactical breathing in military though, so when they go into
- 12:48tactical environments that's what they use to focus.
- 12:50Is that same box breathing? And I was like, interesting.
- 12:54So the military is just a different type of name for the
- 12:57same process, but it still is to put you in this very focused,
- 13:00very attentive, aware state. And that was like.
- 13:03Well, you think about it when you're nervous or frustrated or
- 13:06angry, your breathing is erratic.
- 13:08It changes. It goes, you remember that in
- 13:11NLP training, like one of the things that talking about being
- 13:14able to call me other person that's in front of you.
- 13:17And one of them I really liked was increase your breath rate to
- 13:21match their breath rate and then start to gradually slow yours
- 13:24down. And then they calm down and they
- 13:27go, why am I calm? And I've used that so much with
- 13:30people, my kids, my wife, even myself, where I'm just like, OK,
- 13:35we're going to calm our breath down because it's always comes
- 13:38from that. So when you bring that up,
- 13:40that's. Such a big difference.
- 13:41Well, you think if you're doing box breath, you're you're being
- 13:43more calculated because you're thinking.
- 13:45Counting. So your focus is and that's what
- 13:47I've. Known 12341. 2 is when I'm
- 13:50always doing that. If I'm meditating and I'm
- 13:53noticing I'm stressed, it's because of all my thoughts.
- 13:55If those thoughts can stop, if I can just get it back to like,
- 13:58hey, you're right here. So it is for me.
- 14:01A lot of the time it's like counting breaths or I'm like,
- 14:03OK, I'm feeling this breath right here.
- 14:05And I focus on that feeling and it only lasts for moments
- 14:09because when I'm stressed and that another thought pops up or
- 14:11it goes this way and that way and I'm like, fuck, OK, Like I
- 14:14know that's why I'm trying to do this.
- 14:16And so then I come back and I'm like, all right, no breathe,
- 14:19just breathe. Slow breath, like count it out.
- 14:21And so I'll do that because I'm like, all right, I don't need to
- 14:24be focusing on all this stuff that's just stressing my body.
- 14:27It's not actually helping me resolve or do anything or move
- 14:31forward. Most of the time it either puts
- 14:33me in a holding pattern, a fear, like something that I'm like,
- 14:36I'm not being effective for myself, for my life, my family,
- 14:40whatever it is, I'm not effective.
- 14:42Yeah. And I yeah.
- 14:44And so it's that breath is like it's huge because even in the
- 14:47car if I'm just chilling and that and I'm like, oh, cool,
- 14:50hey, why am I feeling tight? Am I, oh, how's my breathing?
- 14:54I'm like, my breathing is shallow.
- 14:55My breathing's like whatever. And so I'll try and focus on my
- 14:59breath and go, OK, we'll take deeper breaths now slow your
- 15:02breathing down. Like why are we doing this?
- 15:04And a lot of it just as, hey, all the shit in our heads going
- 15:08on, we got to do this and got to do this.
- 15:09And hey, you failed here. You're short here.
- 15:12You got to pay this bill or you got to do this.
- 15:14Or I remember that one thing I said.
- 15:15And how is my wife reacting to that?
- 15:18Like it's just constant thoughts in our minds and trying to chase
- 15:22them all down is tiring. Well, and it's being, I mean,
- 15:26the one thing I'm grateful for now is that I'm, I'm pretty self
- 15:29aware. I know when I'm OK, I know when
- 15:31I'm not. You know, the reason why I lost
- 15:34my job was I was, it's a, it's extremely competitive and very
- 15:39strict metrics with this company.
- 15:42And it's totally fine. I didn't make it.
- 15:44I missed it by one. This is the second time I went
- 15:47on probation for that. They have really high numbers.
- 15:50They have high standards and I didn't come to it.
- 15:53And that's OK. That's my fault.
- 15:54But it was funny because when I went into the office, I kind of
- 15:57knew and I lost my job a long time ago.
- 16:01I got fired. And when I got fired, I
- 16:04immediately yelled at the guy because the guy's like, well,
- 16:07we're going to do this and we're going to let you go for this
- 16:09technicality. And I was like, this sounds like
- 16:11a fucking witch hunt. And I was like, you guys are
- 16:13just using me as as a as leverage point with other
- 16:16people. And I was like, this is
- 16:18bullshit. I know many people that have
- 16:20broken this one, including you guys.
- 16:21And I said, and you're firing me for this.
- 16:23And they're like, yeah. And I'm like, what am I supposed
- 16:24to do about my family? Frank was the guy.
- 16:26And I'm like, I was so mad at him, but realizing that I had
- 16:31done something and I got caught and oh, well, yeah.
- 16:34Like, own it. Oh yeah.
- 16:36I I'd gotten fired over at Jive. That was because I went above my
- 16:40boss's boss to this VP. He didn't like that.
- 16:43And so I had enough. What is it?
- 16:46If you're going to be sick, you need a doctor's note.
- 16:49I was sick two or three days. Everyone in the office was sick.
- 16:52I had a doctor's note. I got the doctor's note and I
- 16:55turned it in. But because I didn't turn it
- 16:57into HRI, turned it into my manager like I had the entire
- 17:01two years I'd been there. That was an instance that he was
- 17:04able to let me go because it didn't track or he didn't put it
- 17:06through. And so they're like, oh, well,
- 17:09if you had sent it into HR, we could have done it and it would
- 17:11have been fine. But because of this, and because
- 17:13he was going to lose his job because of the issues that our
- 17:16department was having, that I had raised up with the VP.
- 17:19So after I got let go, he got demoted because he was going to
- 17:23get let go. And one of his friends in
- 17:24another department hired him out under him, but he got massively
- 17:28demoted because it was that or he lost his job.
- 17:30Yeah. But that was hard because I was
- 17:32so frustrated and in there I was like, cool, well, if if I get
- 17:36fired, at least I get this. Like they were paying people out
- 17:39and they're like, oh, actually because of this, you're not
- 17:41going to get it at all. And I was like, well, fuck you
- 17:45guys. It's like that guy in the movie
- 17:46gets hit with one arrow, he goes oh and then like 5 more arrows
- 17:49go. He just slowly dies on the pole,
- 17:52no? But it was the time it was like
- 17:53Oh well that's fine, I'm starting my own business anyway.
- 17:56And then I tried that and then my ex-wife was like hey I need
- 17:58more money. I'm like oh I can't do this
- 18:00while trying to start a business.
- 18:01So got to go back to working for someone.
- 18:03Yeah, constant perpetual cycle. You know, so I was like, gosh,
- 18:06yet. But it just wasn't what I was
- 18:08supposed to be doing at that moment, I guess.
- 18:11Well, you know, but the difference now, like I, I got
- 18:14let go and it wasn't because I did something like bad.
- 18:18It was just like I didn't hit their marks.
- 18:20And when my boss pulled me into his office, I kind of knew.
- 18:23Like I didn't know until I walked in.
- 18:25I saw this woman on a screen and HR thing and they go through
- 18:28their process and then my boss is just like, I'm so sorry.
- 18:32And I'm like, hey, it's OK. I mean, like, you know what, it
- 18:34didn't work out. We, we did everything we could.
- 18:37This is a completely big shift for me to learn a whole
- 18:41different genre business and understanding the complexities
- 18:46of it. I honestly, I was just like,
- 18:48yeah, he's like, what could have been better for that one?
- 18:51I said honestly, if you'd allowed me to do what you guys
- 18:54told me that every single broker is looking for a network.
- 18:58I already have one, but you guys were like, these are the metrics
- 19:02every fucking week. These are the metrics every
- 19:05month. I'm like, yeah, let me hit
- 19:06those. Let me get the the appointments,
- 19:08let me go out and do what I do. No, we need you in the office or
- 19:12we just need you to stop by random businesses and cold drop
- 19:14in like you don't understand. I can get U.S. business.
- 19:18Just let me build these friendships first and then they
- 19:21can start asking about what I do.
- 19:22Nope. You got to tell them right away
- 19:24what you do. So it was this very backwards
- 19:26way of feeling where I'd focus so much on relationships and it
- 19:29put me in a different spot. So but I was OK, I was upset
- 19:34when I got to my car. The only reason why And I'm like
- 19:37I'm going to have to tell my poor wife I just lost my job
- 19:40again and she would be really upset.
- 19:43That's the hardest conversation. That's harder than having the
- 19:46conversation with the company going, hey, we're letting you
- 19:49go. Yeah, you're like, all right.
- 19:50It's like, oh, OK. I mean, whatever.
- 19:52You can usually see a reasoning or something be in there,
- 19:55whether or not you agree with it.
- 19:57You can at least. It is what it is.
- 19:58Yeah. And you can't control that.
- 20:00It's out of your control, Yeah. But it's that conversation of
- 20:03like, fuck, I got to go tell them.
- 20:04It's like I failed again. I don't have this.
- 20:07I lost this. Now it's going to add this
- 20:09stress in and like, yeah, it's never fun to have that
- 20:12conversation. It's but, but it was momentary
- 20:15because this time I go, OK, but what are, what are the things
- 20:20that are good that came out of this?
- 20:21And that's what I told my boss. And I was like, well, there's a
- 20:23lot of good that came out of this.
- 20:24And he was what? And I'm like, well, I got a
- 20:25license in the brokerage world. I learned a completely new way
- 20:30of selling, which is cool to give to other people.
- 20:34My wife's like don't do technical sales anymore.
- 20:36I said, oh, way ahead of you, way ahead of you.
- 20:38I don't technical meaning this complex, this is extremely
- 20:44complex sale. There are so many different
- 20:47avenues that you could go down. It's not the same as SAS.
- 20:51It's not the same as marketing. It's not the same as selling a
- 20:55physical product. You are selling the livelihood
- 20:59of people and you're trying to figure out every individual and
- 21:03how it's going to affect them. Can you create a plan that's
- 21:06going to help them out or are you just creating a plan to give
- 21:10you the most Commission? Typical brokers are going for
- 21:12the ones that make the most Commission.
- 21:14I mean, brokers make a fuck ton of money.
- 21:16Like some of the brokers in my office.
- 21:18High 6 figures, high 6 figures. And you'd think that all they do
- 21:22is golf, but they're really focused on it.
- 21:25And it's, it's the thing that I didn't enjoy about it is that
- 21:28it's never good enough. It's never good enough.
- 21:32You're never going to be good enough because you're always
- 21:35chasing your tail. Always.
- 21:38It's a non-stop roller coaster of anxiety.
- 21:43And I don't like that I. Didn't I didn't like it dude my
- 21:45friend who's there I won't say their name but they're done too
- 21:49like after I left they're like yeah this place sucks because
- 21:53insurance world is boring as shit it's really fucking boring
- 21:57but some people love that boring and I think that's great you
- 22:00need you there but. I will say guys, this strain we
- 22:06have only done the one day before.
- 22:08We even started. I am I'll tell you this one.
- 22:11It's not my favorite strain. It's OK.
- 22:14I could handle this with combos. I could combine it with a I'm
- 22:20wanting more of an indica feel. I it's in and in between for me.
- 22:26I still feel very clear headed but my body feels tense from
- 22:30like kind of. Yeah, my shoulders feel a
- 22:32little. Tense.
- 22:32My arms feel tense. One thing that's crazy, though,
- 22:35My foot has not been going nuts. Yeah, not once.
- 22:38So it's relaxed in the body in some fashions, but slightly
- 22:42tense in others. Yeah.
- 22:43I wondered if my shoulder is well, this shoulder's been tight
- 22:46for months. Now, like my neck's not feeling
- 22:48as tight anymore, but man, it was really hurting there.
- 22:50I'd put balm on it right as you got here, so.
- 22:53A little extra help. Yeah, my neck was like after
- 22:56sleeping, it woke up and. Like it's a good strain.
- 22:59I think it'd be great for combining with others, or I
- 23:02think that in flour it would be more sedative.
- 23:05Ooh I would love to try this in flour.
- 23:08Yeah, I think the flavors would be pretty amazing.
- 23:11I think it would be really good looking.
- 23:13It'll have that blue hue. I know that from blue Pluto.
- 23:17I mean from Pluto. That'd be fantastic though if we
- 23:20could get that in flower. Smell it though, it has some
- 23:23sweet notes. Not a lot of gassy I was getting
- 23:25but like. Which is crazy because like when
- 23:27you heat it up, you get Piney notes right away.
- 23:29Yeah, it's a very subtle. Yeah, but it was, it was a good
- 23:34smell, just nothing that I was no particular note that jumped
- 23:39out. Yeah, I tend to feel like the
- 23:41nose, nose like my more hoppy, my more skunky strains.
- 23:46I feel like I'm going to get a lot of what I'm looking for
- 23:50because they typically those tell me that's a good time,
- 23:54That's a good time, right? Your sweeter ones are more of
- 23:57like for me. I feel like daytimes.
- 23:59Yeah, little hybrid ones, They're they're always sweet.
- 24:01They're candy. Yeah, but I mean, it's, it's not
- 24:04overpowering and it may have some analgesic effects, like if
- 24:07you've got pain or maybe a headache, but I wouldn't use
- 24:11this one for headaches. I wouldn't use this.
- 24:13I I think this would be, I love it for the mental state of like
- 24:17going, hey, like this would be a good meditative strain where you
- 24:21could just kind of focus on that because you, you can slow down
- 24:25on it. Your brain slows down quite a
- 24:27bit on it and the thought processes slow down quite a bit.
- 24:30So again, for me, I like it alone, maybe not so much, but
- 24:35I'd like to combine it with like an indica, like black amber or
- 24:40anything like that. Just kind of a just chill
- 24:42relaxing strain just to add a little extra to it.
- 24:45But I tend to do that anyways. Like my wife will come to me
- 24:47saying I need to feel this right now.
- 24:49And I'm like, OK, so I'm over there playing Doctor Dab and I'm
- 24:52like a little bit of this. Yeah, you're saying if you're
- 24:54dabbing, you like to do a lot more of blendings now?
- 24:57Because I'll look at the strain. I'm like, Oh well, you know
- 25:01what, I kind of want some of this trait.
- 25:03Like if I want the calming effect, but I don't want to go
- 25:06to sleep, I'll add in some sativa just a little bit.
- 25:10Sometimes I go too much and you. Go.
- 25:13That second one fell right in my face.
- 25:16Oh. No, no, I can't do that because
- 25:19it squeezed the shit out of the talk about my neck, but I don't
- 25:22know. I I like this and and you guys
- 25:25should check it out. Good for racing.
- 25:27Yeah, it's good for racing, but it's also good for introspection
- 25:30and focus. Yeah, it.
- 25:32Might be good for like a book if you were to sit down and read a
- 25:34book. We could totally read a book on
- 25:35this if you need to focus on something stationary.
- 25:39I was watching a video and it was talking about the education
- 25:43level, people in school and just humanity now the reading
- 25:46comprehension level. That's what it was.
- 25:47Oh, it's insanely low. And they were talking about even
- 25:50students in Cambridge that were there, and they're like, oh,
- 25:53it's typical for professors or like the assignment to be, hey,
- 25:56you're reading a book a week. And the student was like, I've
- 25:59never had to do that. I've never read a book.
- 26:01I've never read an entire book. Like what the fuck?
- 26:04How have you never read an entire book?
- 26:05You're in college. You got that far without ever
- 26:08reading an entire book. Well, you think about it and you
- 26:11don't. We don't have where I remember
- 26:13when I was researching for papers in college, I had to go
- 26:16to the library. Really.
- 26:18Like, I actually go to the library.
- 26:19And this is when I was 31. This is fucking eight years ago.
- 26:24No longer than you. It's like 8.
- 26:26No, that's a long time ago. I was like I've been Googling
- 26:28stuff for ages. No, it's like 18 years ago.
- 26:31But The thing is I mean you can Google but you couldn't get all
- 26:34the information plus the same. As library.
- 26:36The only thing at that time was the only credible sources that
- 26:39you could put on thereifitsaid.com or a.gov for
- 26:43statisticalstuffifyouput.org or anything like that.
- 26:47Incredible source. And then everybody used to go to
- 26:49Wikipedia back. Then so weird like it was the
- 26:53what is the URL ending is the credibility.
- 26:57Well, because it did. It makes a lot of sense on that
- 27:00because. A lot back then.
- 27:01Well, yeah, becauseof.com and it's still seen that way now.
- 27:05Like within the search worldisthat.com is one of the
- 27:09it's the top because it's one of the oldest, it's the easiest to
- 27:13understand, plus it's the most credible.
- 27:15Like they know that it's a credible site and it can be, but
- 27:19the other ones are like full of ads and stuff like that and
- 27:22you're like, who the fuck is making money off of this thing?
- 27:25But. Gotta love those.
- 27:27But I don't know, man, it's, it's exactly that what you're
- 27:29talking about, the comprehension level.
- 27:31Like I actually saw something on that.
- 27:33This is last week I was going to talk to you about.
- 27:34It's crazy. Oh, but it was going into the
- 27:38whole purpose of that one was because back in the 1800s they
- 27:41were teaching phonic style reading.
- 27:44So it would be sounding out the phonetics of the words and
- 27:46trying to understand the bases and that.
- 27:48And then later they introduced what was called like whole word
- 27:52learning. So it was more of like they
- 27:54figured that a kid could learn, could learn better reading if
- 27:59they were to just gather the context as a whole without
- 28:02having to go phonetically through each word and understand
- 28:05the word and that. And that has actually supposedly
- 28:08played a part in our bringing down the reading level and
- 28:11comprehension level of people over time to where now we have a
- 28:16lot less reading comprehension level where people aren't
- 28:19reading at their grade levels and people aren't.
- 28:21Well, they listen. They listen more than they they
- 28:24read like you ask people like I listen to books, but I also read
- 28:27books. But even then, I think listening
- 28:30it's the book levels 'cause it was like, OK, the book 1984,
- 28:34most of our country wouldn't actually be able to read and
- 28:37comprehend it because of the words used.
- 28:39And it was going through a bunch of other books and it was like
- 28:41this one that's just a high school level.
- 28:44Most of our country couldn't read it or comprehend it because
- 28:46of where it's at. It's above their reading level.
- 28:48And I'm like, that's really sad that these base level books that
- 28:51I've, you know, I don't think as being this really high reading
- 28:55level, a lot of our country can't even comprehend.
- 28:58No, and that's sad. And well, and you got to look at
- 29:01the amount of trash content that's being written too.
- 29:07Oh yeah, because you've got, I mean, genres are genres.
- 29:10But then you can tell, like one of my wife's favorite ones was
- 29:15young adult fiction, right? And she liked a lot of that one.
- 29:18But now they're all the same. It's the same feel, same flow,
- 29:23same type of story arcs, same type of characters, just in
- 29:26different time settings or fantasy areas.
- 29:29Because even the writers are lazy enough they can't write
- 29:34something new. They're like, well, what's
- 29:36trending I. Like older books, I like going
- 29:41back to older times and older things more.
- 29:44Structured. Yeah, Better and.
- 29:45There's more thought and depth and you're like flow makes you
- 29:49think more and you're like, oh wow, that's a.
- 29:51Yeah, reading modern books is kind of weird because they jump
- 29:53all over the place. They're fine.
- 29:55There are some that I've like, oh OK, that was that was crazy
- 29:58or that's a wild story or shit like, but most of them I'm not
- 30:01trying to read the fantasy side. I have done some though.
- 30:04I read, I read Dune, I read ACOTAR which is the Court of
- 30:10Thorns and Roses. I read the first two in that
- 30:13series. I just had listened to 4th Wing,
- 30:17the very first one of that one. Just, I don't know, there's a
- 30:20lot of time and I have found that I'm trying not to listen to
- 30:24as much music as often. I still love music and I listen
- 30:27to it all the time, but I'm trying to incorporate more books
- 30:29and that. So yeah, when I go out dashing
- 30:32in that and I'm like, Oh well, listen to a book, go to that and
- 30:34so. I just finished the book,
- 30:36looking for another one. I've gotten to the point where
- 30:38music isn't this is interesting. It's sometimes I'm just like,
- 30:41you know, if I'm at the gym, yeah, listening to the book is
- 30:44probably not the best for me unless I'm really into the book.
- 30:47But even then, I'm like, you know, if I'm driving or
- 30:50something like that, It doesn't always need to be just the same
- 30:53songs that I like to listen to because I like the songs.
- 30:56Like now I've been in and it just goes that way, dude.
- 30:59Like I used to be really into my Switch.
- 31:01Now I don't play my Switch. It used to be my PlayStation.
- 31:03I play it every once in a while now.
- 31:05I'm like looking for other things.
- 31:07I'm, I'm constantly in search of a new idea of to learn something
- 31:12that's and not necessarily to say, look at me, I'm fucking
- 31:14learn it. It's just like, I want to learn
- 31:16something. And that's the thing that I
- 31:17don't see with a lot of younger people today is the desire to
- 31:20learn anything. Yeah.
- 31:22I wonder if it's how our education is structured.
- 31:24Well, actually, let me ask you first.
- 31:27Did you like learning growing up as a kid?
- 31:29No, I didn't either as an adult. And I actually, it was funny.
- 31:33I had an interview the other day yesterday and I was talking to
- 31:36the lady and I was like, you know, growing up, I actually
- 31:38hated school. And I didn't think that I wanted
- 31:41to go into higher education, continue learning because after
- 31:44I graduated, it was like I'm done.
- 31:46And then the further I've gotten, I realized I truly love
- 31:50learning. It was just the way I was
- 31:53learning. I didn't enjoy and maybe the
- 31:55things that I was required to learn that we're not necessarily
- 31:58always in my wheelhouse of like this matters or will ever bring
- 32:01value into my life where I love historical things, I love
- 32:05science, I love interesting facts, I love shit like that.
- 32:08I don't necessarily need to know what sqrt π times by 6 divided
- 32:12by like XY squared. None of that shit is relevant in
- 32:16my life. I can do basic math and
- 32:18everything all I need to, but there's other things where I'm
- 32:21like, I've just learned that I love learning and it I think
- 32:24maybe it's just kids would love learning if it was things they
- 32:28were really interested in. I agree with you the way I'll
- 32:31push back on that though, it's a two way St.
- 32:34You have to have a base level of.
- 32:35Well, no, but the teachers need to be excited about learning.
- 32:38But the only way teachers are going to be excited about
- 32:40learning is that the kids are excited about learning.
- 32:42And you? Yeah.
- 32:44But how do you get the kids excited about?
- 32:45Learning. Well, that's the thing.
- 32:46Not everything has to have a candy coated shell.
- 32:49No, you know, it's 100%. You need to have a desire to do
- 32:52something other than just I didn't.
- 32:54Whatever makes me feel good. Candy coated shells so.
- 32:57No, I do. You definitely didn't.
- 32:59You got. Thrust.
- 33:00Totally understand that, but I'm.
- 33:01Saying like, you know, there's. Some level of.
- 33:03Well, it's, it's what I I loved about college is what I realized
- 33:07about education was I love to learn and I wanted to learn how
- 33:11to learn because what college taught me wasn't the classes I
- 33:15took, It was the ability to be able to.
- 33:17Learn maybe that is what we don't teach well, and that
- 33:19should be the very first thing learn to learn kids is how to
- 33:22learn how to study, how to like retain information or like
- 33:26whatever it is that they teach in those things going yeah,
- 33:28let's let's start you here so that when we start teaching all
- 33:32this other shit, you understand how to imply that or like take
- 33:36that into your life and and make sense of that moving forward
- 33:39versus like just having it dumped into him going, ah, you
- 33:42need this and this and this and this and this and they're like
- 33:44what the fuck why, why, why, why do I need.
- 33:46This you know what this sounds like it's going into a sesh.
- 33:48So let's see that one guys. We'll catch you next Tuesday.
- 33:52Pay attention to the sesh coming out on Thursday.
