- 0:00This is not the easy path, guys.
- 0:01It's the courageous path, for sure.
- 0:04One of my things I always say to all creatives and entrepreneurs is what do you think are the gifts of being a multi-passionate?
- 0:11I actually haven't heard this being said anywhere else, but I will say so much of the blocks to letting yourself be successful, whatever successful means to you, or to thrive as a multi-passionate, it's not out there.
- 0:30It's not even in your business strategy and in what you're doing.
- 0:33It's in, are you giving yourself permission?
- 0:38So for those of you that are flitting from thing to thing to thing, give yourself permission to drop the pressure, drop the expectation, let go of you needing this massive purpose and instead.
- 0:50Am I good enough at this?
- 0:52What does the world think of this?
- 0:53Are you judging me for this?
- 0:56What does the soul mean to you?
- 1:09Multi-passionate, this is for you.
- 1:12If you have been told you're too much, you have too many dreams, you need to focus on one thing, this conversation is a love letter to your multi-passionate, multi-dimensional soul.
- 1:24We are so blessed to be guided by this queen beside me, Sabi Kerr, who is a self-love coach here to help us embody, express, and live our most magical, multi-passionate life, and I'm sure...
- 1:37live our most magical, multi-passionate life and much, much more.
- 1:41And there is so much that we get to learn through her and from her.
- 1:44And I'm so excited to welcome Savi to the Soul Salon.
- 1:47Thank you for having me.
- 1:48I'm so excited to be here.
- 1:50I am so honored to have you.
- 1:51It's such a gift to have you in this space.
- 1:53And the first question I would be honored to ask you is, what does the soul mean to you?
- 1:58This deeper essence of who you are, of who you've always been before the world told you who you
- 2:07Before you got all of these stories from outside telling you to be this, do this, impress other people.
- 2:13It's like your truest essence.
- 2:17Uncontaminated.
- 2:18Yeah.
- 2:22That is so juicy.
- 2:23And I love how you like dropped into the question.
- 2:25You were like, ooh, there's deeper essence.
- 2:27And we felt you embodying that as well.
- 2:29So I'm so curious, when do you feel most in touch with that deeper essence, that part of you that you were before anyone conditioned you out of it?
- 2:38When I'm doing something in my body, when I'm dancing, you know, when I'm like, that's probably when I feel my most free.
- 2:44When I'm listening to music, moving.
- 2:47And interestingly,
- 2:49Dancing as a child probably was my first spiritual experience without even realizing, knowing what those words meant.
- 2:57The first time that I felt this sense of deeper connection, truly alive, truly like, wow, this feels amazing.
- 3:04I want to do more of this.
- 3:06Yeah.
- 3:07Oh, like a portal was opening.
- 3:09Yes.
- 3:09Something was opening.
- 3:10And actually, when I think about how I'm sure we'll talk about it in this episode, but I continued to follow that thread.
- 3:18And that actually really led me to what I'm doing now, I would say.
- 3:21Yeah.
- 3:23You followed the thread.
- 3:25Oh, my word.
- 3:25And so many of us lose touch with the thread.
- 3:27Yeah.
- 3:28But we know it when we feel it, right?
- 3:29Yeah, we know it when we feel it.
- 3:32I love that dance and movement.
- 3:34And I love hearing people discuss the spiritual dimension of dance, which is what it always was, you know, and it still can be and is.
- 3:41So that's so stunning.
- 3:42And I'd love to hear for you, what connects you to that golden thread?
- 3:47Like, what are the different ways your soul loves to express in this life?
- 3:51Hmm.
- 3:52The multiple things I love to do.
- 3:54Yeah.
- 3:55I love what I love.
- 3:57And I love that we're talking about this today is that it's continually evolving.
- 4:03You know, it's continually evolving and shifting.
- 4:05And I'm like, I'm excited to see what other threads I discover.
- 4:09But up until this current point in time, dance was my first love.
- 4:12Dance is really my first love, my first portal into movement and expression and creativity.
- 4:20I'm a coach, kind of as you described, but I've trained in lots of different modalities.
- 4:25I'm a self-love and leadership coach, also a trained sex and relationships coach, done lots of work in embodiment, semantics.
- 4:34What else am I?
- 4:35I'm a yoga teacher, meditation teacher.
- 4:37So I teach a lot in London.
- 4:40I'm a DJ and I'm DJing a lot in London now as well.
- 4:45And probably more things I've even forgotten, you know.
- 4:49And what I love is that none of these things even feel separate.
- 4:55They're all interlinked somehow, you know, they're all actually connected.
- 4:59And one thing doesn't take away from the other thing.
- 5:03Can we stay there with that?
- 5:04Because I think most people don't view it that way, right?
- 5:06They think, oh, I do this and I do this and I do this.
- 5:08Can you tell us about this interconnectedness?
- 5:11You are the person that's doing the things, the multiple things that might feel very different.
- 5:16And so there is already the you that's embodying all of these things and often multi-passionate creatives that love many different things.
- 5:27The things aren't even that different.
- 5:28So I can use my things as an example.
- 5:33Someone might come to me for coaching, but I'm not.
- 5:37they're drawn to the coaching because I have a movement background, because I teach yoga and they're really into wellness, because they're probably a creative and love music and they love that I DJ and maybe there are multiple things that I can help them with.
- 5:51And all of my different skills and all of the different threads actually come together to potentially support that one person with what they're moving through.
- 6:00So it's a massive benefit to have all of these different
- 6:07That's separate.
- 6:08Ooh, ooh, that is juicy.
- 6:11You took us there in such a tangible way.
- 6:13That's so beautiful because it's like hearing, it's beautiful to hear both the, you know, that energy feeling of like dance and DJing and then also hear a tactical example of, oh, actually this is a way that me being a multi-passionate is extremely powerful.
- 6:27beneficial to the collective in so many ways.
- 6:29And so I just love what you're sharing.
- 6:31I love the loves that you have, the meditation, the yoga, the DJing, the, I know you sound heal, you do sound healing.
- 6:37I forgot about that.
- 6:37Yeah.
- 6:38See, like you hold events, like there's so many amazing, magical things.
- 6:42And then I know a lot of us are also trying to sort of grapple or dance with this.
- 6:47Like I'm not a human doing, I'm a human being.
- 6:49And so where do you feel like that fits into this conversation as we are expressing ourselves as I do this and I do that and I do that?
- 6:57You just said you are the one who integrates all.
- 6:59So I'm curious, like, what do you think about as a meditation and yoga teacher as well?
- 7:04Like staying connected as a multi passionate to the fact that we express ourselves in all these ways, but we're also not that I don't know.
- 7:11Yeah, I this was a really important lesson for me because there's
- 7:17Anything has pros and cons.
- 7:19Anything has empowering parts and like shadow parts and things that feel challenging.
- 7:23And I know for me, because I've always been such a multi-passionate creative soul, the blessing and the curse is that I'll start a new hobby.
- 7:34And then suddenly it'll become my work like a year or two later, whether I plan for it to be or not, you know.
- 7:40Which is amazing that we live in a world where that's even possible.
- 7:44We find something we love to do.
- 7:46It's just for fun.
- 7:47And then we're able to make money out of it.
- 7:49Incredible.
- 7:50And that's the blessing.
- 7:53The curse for me was my whole sense of identity was wrapped up in my work.
- 8:01Because all of the things I love to do, I turned into my work.
- 8:04I was like, who am I without these things?
- 8:07Because all of the things I love are my work and I do them.
- 8:10So if I have low income months or business isn't going well, or I don't feel so good and so I'm not able to work or whatever, for any reason, if work has a slow period, I'll be like, who am I?
- 8:22I don't know who I am without it.
- 8:23And I actually went through a really, really big burnout about two years ago that brought me to a place of...
- 8:32It was a massive moment of realization where I was like, I need to find some detachment.
- 8:37As much as I love all of these things so much, they are not totally who I am.
- 8:43You know, I'm the soul beneath all of the things, actually.
- 8:47And so I took a really big pause, a really, really long pause for a while.
- 8:52And I said, I want to get myself to a place where I can love myself wholly and fully and deeply.
- 8:58Whether I'm doing this work or not.
- 9:00Can I still feel valuable and worthy if I'm not the successful coach, if I'm not the successful creative, if I'm not being seen in this way?
- 9:09Can I still feel like, yeah, I love me.
- 9:12I'm still incredible without all of the accolades and the like fancy things.
- 9:17So that was a really, really deep period of inner work where I took a pause from business for a while.
- 9:22And I see now how much I needed it.
- 9:25I've been teaching women self-love all of this time, and yet some of my worth was still connected to my work.
- 9:31You know, that was super, super powerful.
- 9:34And I really kind of invite anyone that's doing heart-centered work that they love to do some of the inner work to release your deep attachment to it being all of who you are.
- 9:46Because then when you feel that part of you, you can then come back to the work from a less attached place.
- 9:56You don't need it to give you something.
- 9:59You can actually serve in a better way.
- 10:02Thank you so much for taking us there and explaining your own experience of overly identifying with what you do as who you are and where you get your worth and value from in the story you're telling yourself about your value and purpose in this life.
- 10:15I think that trajectory you shared about going from loving something and having it as a hobby, this pure design interest to finding a way for it to be your work, monetizing it.
- 10:24As you said, I think holding the duality of like, it's beautiful that we get to do that, but also it can change how we relate to that thing.
- 10:32And I send so much love to that version of you who went through that burnout and who was feeling detached from her own like deeper worthiness.
- 10:41But the fact that you've alchemized that and found your way through that forest of like...
- 10:45Who am I if this isn't working, if this isn't working, right?
- 10:48But it's working in another sense.
- 10:49So I just appreciate you sharing that journey so much because I think so many of us can relate to that tension.
- 10:55So I really appreciate that.
- 10:57I definitely relate to that as someone who like struggles to detach who I am from how I am doing in an external sense and an internal sense in these roles.
- 11:07So I definitely identify with that so deeply.
- 11:10Thank you for sharing that.
- 11:11I feel like...
- 11:13Something that can seem so exciting can then become pressure and can become a fixed notion of what it's supposed to be.
- 11:22My next question for you is, you said that these different expressions of the soul are not that different.
- 11:28I found that such an interesting thing to say.
- 11:30Can you say more about that?
- 11:32For me, they all do come from the same place.
- 11:36I think about that young version of me that went to her first dance class.
- 11:43I just, I should probably tell you at some point, whether now or later, because I want to answer this question first, but my multi-passionate journey from then to now.
- 11:53Please.
- 11:53I think it will tie up.
- 11:54Yes, that'd be lovely.
- 11:56Should I go now?
- 11:56Remind me of this question afterwards.
- 11:57I will, absolutely.
- 12:01Um, so I was 11, 12, 13, went to watch, did you watch the film Save the Last Dance?
- 12:10I have watched it, but I don't remember it.
- 12:12One of my favorite, my favorite films.
- 12:14And that was the film that made me think, I want to dance.
- 12:17Yeah.
- 12:17I want to dance.
- 12:20And after that, after watching that film, I remember coming out of the cinema with my friends and we were like, oh, should we go take ballet classes?
- 12:27We were like 12 at the time.
- 12:28My mom, my friend's mom found us a local ballet class and we went like we all went.
- 12:35And I just remember being in that class and feeling that feeling of like the joy, the connectedness, the aliveness.
- 12:44I was 12 and so I was just like, this feels good.
- 12:46I want to keep doing it.
- 12:48And my friends, I don't know, maybe lasted six months or whatever and then it wasn't for them or they didn't continue.
- 12:55I stayed and throughout my teen years, I stayed.
- 12:59Explored other styles of dance, everything really, contemporary, hip hop, jazz, tap, bit of everything.
- 13:04Loved it.
- 13:06And so there was this part of me that was super creative, wanting to explore, loved to move, loved the feeling that dance brought me.
- 13:13And then there was the other part of me that was super academic, loved school, loved learning English, math, science.
- 13:20I actually really enjoyed it.
- 13:22which is all well and good when you're a child.
- 13:24And then at some point in time, the world is like, now you have to pick, right?
- 13:30And so I came to the end of school and the world says, now what are you going to do?
- 13:35And it felt so annoying to me.
- 13:38The me that was, I guess, 17, 18 at that time was like,
- 13:42I kind of want to do both.
- 13:44Is there a way that I can do both?
- 13:47Obviously, if you go to university, you have to pick a subject.
- 13:52There was a version of me that wanted to go and be a dancer.
- 13:55And then the me that was like, maybe it'll be good to do a more academic, you know, university degree.
- 14:00I was like, I'm going to find a way to do both.
- 14:03I went to a dance college for a year.
- 14:06I found one that I could go to for a year.
- 14:09So at least get some full time dance training.
- 14:11Like I needed that.
- 14:12My soul needed that.
- 14:13I just needed to experience that.
- 14:15And then the next year I went to university and studied economics.
- 14:20And it was a very maths heavy degree, a really good uni in London.
- 14:24So like the total opposite to my previous year.
- 14:27I also needed that.
- 14:29I needed that.
- 14:30I danced throughout uni still, actually.
- 14:33My university had a really good dance society.
- 14:35So I danced a lot and still had that part of me feeling fulfilled.
- 14:39All well and good.
- 14:39And then we come to the end of university and the world again asks, what are you going to pick now?
- 14:46Now you need to decide what one thing are you going to do?
- 14:50I still don't want to have to pick.
- 14:52I still kind of want to explore both.
- 14:55I again gave myself a little bit of space and grace.
- 14:58And I was like, I know I need a year of dancing properly where that's my full focus.
- 15:05It might not work out, you know, it's a very hard industry, but I just need to know that I've tried.
- 15:09And so I'm young at this point, I'm 22, I guess.
- 15:13So I spend a year dancing, going to auditions, you know, turning up.
- 15:198am on the truth, full face of makeup, going to these dance auditions where there's 100 women for three parts.
- 15:25Brutal experience.
- 15:27But I think it served me really well.
- 15:30I did some little performing jobs here and there.
- 15:33And I'm really glad I gave myself that time, you know.
- 15:37And I had from uni, I'd been offered a job at PwC, Management Consulting.
- 15:44So one of the big four professional services firms, a really good job.
- 15:49I was like, let's give it a go.
- 15:53I don't, this probably isn't my path, but I want to know that I've tried.
- 15:56I gave it a go for about a year or a bit under a year.
- 16:00I was like, okay, I don't think this is for me.
- 16:02So I gave myself permission to keep exploring, which is I think something that maybe a lot of people don't do.
- 16:08I knew that I really loved teaching and guiding because when I'd been dancing, I had been holding space for a lot of dance classes, teaching kids a lot.
- 16:21I loved that.
- 16:22So I thought maybe I'm supposed to be a teacher.
- 16:26All right, let me train to be a primary school teacher.
- 16:29Train to be a primary school teacher.
- 16:31Taught a lot in London schools for a few years.
- 16:35And I loved teaching.
- 16:37I really did love teaching and I was really good at it.
- 16:40I felt like I found something that I was like, I'm a really good space holder.
- 16:43I'm good at facilitating and teaching and guiding.
- 16:46But the school system is not the one.
- 16:49It's just not the one.
- 16:50It's...
- 16:51Yeah.
- 16:52And so I struggled with that side of it.
- 16:56But I'd got some really good skills around about this time.
- 17:01I was going through massive breakup and I was also on my own kind of spiritual path and getting really into yoga.
- 17:08And I went and did my first yoga teacher training.
- 17:11This was about almost 10 years ago now.
- 17:15And still did some school teaching, supply teaching alongside.
- 17:19Came back from India after my yoga teacher training, started teaching yoga all over London.
- 17:24I was like, wow, I love this.
- 17:26I love this.
- 17:28And I want to take people deeper.
- 17:30And so I kept following that thread and ended up doing my first life coaching certification.
- 17:35Loved it.
- 17:36Loved holding space in that way.
- 17:38And then it was like, and I want to be able to guide people through relationship stuff and sexuality stuff.
- 17:43Did some more trainings.
- 17:45And I was still dancing in my own time.
- 17:47And I was like, I want to support women to like feel connected to their bodies as well as their life goals.
- 17:52And started to integrate movement and dance into my work.
- 17:54And really that's continued up until now.
- 18:02what feels really alive in me um what feels like the next right step and what I've noticed when I look back is right from the start that little kid in the ballet class all of those skills somehow come together to what I do now so actually this kind of does answer your question it's like what
- 18:26Each part along the journey has been useful for my current work in a way that I had no idea at the time.
- 18:34You know, when I think about the work that I do now, my teaching absolutely helps.
- 18:38Right.
- 18:39I'm guiding people every day.
- 18:42Even management consulting like that helps.
- 18:44You know, I got experience working in a big corporate firm.
- 18:49It helps me with the business side.
- 18:52The dance I'm still able to do now.
- 18:54Like everything in my past life and work has supported me with the work that I do now.
- 19:00And I really love to remind people that think that it was a waste of time doing that thing because they want to do this other thing.
- 19:09Like everything is connected and every skill helps you with what you're doing now more than you ever realize.
- 19:16Hmm.
- 19:17Oh, that was so powerful.
- 19:19It's such a gift to witness your journey like told through you and from that little girl in that dance class and feeling that feeling of, oh, I like this and that aliveness as that thread that you followed.
- 19:31And I just really admire the exploration, the openness of, oh, let me try this.
- 19:35Oh, let me honor this part of myself.
- 19:36Let me, you know, I do love the academic side.
- 19:39So let me honor this, but I want to keep dancing.
- 19:41And
- 19:41It seems like you were very in touch with yourself at all these stages.
- 19:46I really have to shout out like teenage Savvy because I don't know what gave her that courage actually to do something quite different and to be like,
- 19:59I want to try and do both, you know.
- 20:01It's quite a courageous thing for young me to do.
- 20:03Like, shout out to my mum as well for supporting that, you know, for allowing me the space to explore both of those things.
- 20:16And I think it's because she knew that I worked hard.
- 20:19Whatever path I was exploring, like, I worked hard.
- 20:23I gave it my all.
- 20:24And I think she could see that.
- 20:25Yeah.
- 20:26Oh, shout out to your mom.
- 20:28Shout out to younger you and shout out to your friend's mom who said, oh, you love this movie.
- 20:32Let's book you all a class.
- 20:34It all takes little guides along the way.
- 20:36But yeah, I really admire your younger self's courage as well.
- 20:39Do you feel like she knew she was being courageous or it was just the most obvious thing to her?
- 20:44I don't even think she knew she was being courageous.
- 20:47I think she was just following the thread.
- 20:50And that has been something that stays with me.
- 20:53And if I was to continue that story up until now, I would even bring it up to the, because I'm a DJ now as well.
- 21:02And it's not like it's not my full time job, but it's started as a, funnily enough.
- 21:07I, so one of my things I always say to all creatives and entrepreneurs is if you've turned every
- 21:13hobby into your work you need a new hobby we must must whatever camera I'm looking at we must have at least one thing that's just for us for our soul for our joy for our creativity that we're not trying to pay our rent with right because the fact of the matter is as soon as we start to make money from our passions our relationship with it changes
- 21:41It's inevitable and it's totally fine.
- 21:42It's the way things work, right?
- 21:45Our relationship to it changes because it's not just a pure creative outlet.
- 21:49It's something that we're now expecting to make a living from.
- 21:54And that's beautiful and incredible.
- 21:56And for our own creativity and our joy and our pleasure, it's really, really powerful to have a creative outlet that's just for us, just for us to drop into that sense of play, the...
- 22:0812 year old me in the ballet class.
- 22:09That essence is what we all need to be connected to.
- 22:14So I was like, I need some new hobbies.
- 22:19I've always wanted to DJ.
- 22:23I've always loved music, always loved dancing, obviously.
- 22:26And for a long time, I'd have been like,
- 22:28I want to learn how to DJ.
- 22:30Then I caught myself saying it again.
- 22:32I was like, Savvy, you've said this to yourself for years.
- 22:34It's about time you learn, you know?
- 22:36And I started learning really just for fun.
- 22:38I went to some classes in London.
- 22:43And I gave myself permission.
- 22:44This is just for my joy, just for fun, just for... And I loved it.
- 22:48I was able to tap back into that younger me in the dance class in a really beautiful organic way.
- 22:54And over time, what naturally happens a lot of the time is if you stick with anything for long enough, you're going to obviously get better at it.
- 23:04You're going to keep doing it.
- 23:05It's probably going to lead somewhere.
- 23:09And so what started as really just a fun hobby has turned into something more.
- 23:15And I'm now able to do some really amazing DJ gigs.
- 23:18I'm like, wow.
- 23:19wow, this is for my inner child.
- 23:21Like when I'm DJing, this is like for my inner child.
- 23:24And so that's been beautiful to even in the last few years to kind of watch that journey with DJing.
- 23:30And I'm also like, right, okay, if you're making money from DJ gigs now, we also need to make sure we still have a hobby where we're not making money from, you know.
- 23:37So I pole dance, I roller skate too.
- 23:39I haven't done that for a little while.
- 23:42I make sure I go to dance classes just for me, you know, because we need that.
- 23:46We really, really need that.
- 23:48Oh my goodness, such a turned on, like, solgasmic life you're living.
- 23:52It feels like so in touch with this, like, flow of, like, creative and therefore, like, I feel it's like a very sensual and sexual energy of, like, being in touch with what lights you up, staying in touch with the thread and really nurturing that part of you that deserves to keep feeling alive and feel like you have the space for yourself.
- 24:09That advice you gave to us all, it's just so critical to have that space that's just for us.
- 24:14What would you say to someone who has these multiple passions?
- 24:17but hasn't yet actually experienced receiving money from them.
- 24:20Like that's actually what they're dreaming of is like, wow, that would be amazing.
- 24:24You know, I love writing and I write every single day, but I've never had like someone, this is an example, but they're thinking I've never had someone offer me money for my writing or offer me money for my dancing.
- 24:36And they're just dreaming of that.
- 24:37Yeah.
- 24:38Is there anything you'd say to them in that regard?
- 24:40Yeah.
- 24:40Yeah, a couple of things.
- 24:43Sometimes it's hard to know unless I know a specific person, you know, but whenever we're putting ourselves out into the world creatively, so much of it when it comes to us wanting to monetize our creative passions, so much of it is mindset and how much we let ourselves be seen and how much we let ourselves take up space and claim that these incredible passions and skills that I've got are...
- 25:08worthy of being like monetized and I should be charging for this um and so I really would recommend every creative soul do some deep work around their worth and charging and making money and really root into the like this I I can make money from this work like
- 25:30I'm good enough to charge for this because that is a potential blocker for so many people.
- 25:36Right.
- 25:39And then if you get to a space where you're like, no, I really, really feel confident and I know I can charge money for this.
- 25:45then create a plan you know like create a plan if it's writing like write that newsletter once a week you know share your sub stack or sub stack online like like let yourself be seen and be visible with the things that you love to do network make connections collaborations if you stick at anything for long enough
- 26:09the results will come.
- 26:11Like they absolutely will.
- 26:15We're not always in control of the when and we're not always in control of the journey to that point and we're not always in control of how many failures it's going to take for us to get there.
- 26:31you know yeah thank you so much for that it's a little bit of an aside but it is so resonant to so many people i love what you said worthiness visibility and rooting into that like deeper worthiness to receive and then from that place also that like plan and that commitment devotion over time um and having that sort of blend soul and strategy so i'm sure um if people want to tap deeper into a multi-passionate sort of abundant life they can tap into working with you maybe one
- 27:01Um, but a question that I wanted to ask you, because you've been talking about following the thread and how you feel DJing and just this really beautiful, I'm just getting this feeling of like, Ooh, like this person is living life so magically.
- 27:13So I'd love to hear you speak about what do you think are the gifts of being a multi-passionate?
- 27:18I just love this topic.
- 27:19So many gifts.
- 27:20So many gifts.
- 27:21So many gifts.
- 27:22So many gifts.
- 27:24I, yeah, ran a masterclass on this last week.
- 27:28And so I'd love to maybe take you through some of the benefits that people forget.
- 27:34And because we're really fed the story of...
- 27:38you need to pick one thing or you're scattered.
- 27:41If you're multi-passionate, you're all over the place or it's not the norm.
- 27:45And so people not that connected to the power of being a multi-passionate and all of the gifts.
- 27:51The first gift I would say is your creativity is massively expanded because one creative outlet very likely will fuel another creative outlet.
- 28:02I might be dancing.
- 28:04and I'll get like an idea for my coaching business that I want to go and create later.
- 28:09I might be DJing and something will come through.
- 28:12I might be teaching yoga.
- 28:13And after the yoga class that I've taught, I'm feeling really alive, connected to my students.
- 28:18I'll then sit on my laptop and be in a better headspace to create whatever I'm creating next.
- 28:23And so you being in your creative flow state with one thing is very likely going to pour into the other things.
- 28:31Your creativity massively expands.
- 28:33You know, there are no walls to creativity.
- 28:38It's like overflowing and interlinking.
- 28:41So that's a massive benefit.
- 28:44Another benefit is you are able to have access to lots of different audiences.
- 28:53And so your networking circle massively expands.
- 28:57And the thing is, business is always built on relationships and you do not need to
- 29:05niche down and have a very set thing in your Instagram bio and this is the only thing you do if you're really good at networking because chances are and I can give some real life examples someone you meet in one setting will likely get to know you like you trust you feel your expertise in that area and then if they need something in this other area and they realize oh you do it
- 29:32they're going to think of you.
- 29:34And so I have had coaching clients that have come from my yoga classes.
- 29:39I have had coaching clients that have then come, you know, to events.
- 29:45I have had people, even from DJ gigs that I've kind of met in the crowd and talked afterwards that have then want to come and do other work with me.
- 29:55I have got DJ gigs that's,
- 29:57through wellness contacts.
- 29:59They haven't heard me DJ, I could be a shit DJ.
- 30:02I could be terrible, I could be absolutely awful.
- 30:04But they know me and they think, oh, Sammy's an amazing yoga teacher, she's reliable, she's really good at what she does in this area, we trust her, she's probably gonna do a good job here as well, right, so much of what we do
- 30:16in entrepreneurship and creativity is built on relationships and if you've already got those relationships and then there's this other outlet or this other thing that you want to do like those people are probably going to be able to help you with those things too um that's the networking piece it is really really good for diversifying risk
- 30:37Just like investing, you know, you're supposed to diversify your portfolio.
- 30:41It's the same if you're an entrepreneur.
- 30:44If you only do one thing and that's it, when business is slow, it's going to feel really scary.
- 30:50Whereas if you have multiple things to pull from...
- 30:54It actually creates stability over time in a really powerful way.
- 30:58What else?
- 30:59I love those so much as you're thinking that they're like just to make sure that we're staying with you.
- 31:03These are so powerful.
- 31:05The expanded creativity that was so beautiful of like just feeling like.
- 31:09We're always expanding our capacity.
- 31:11Ideas are dropping in as you're dancing, as you're DJing.
- 31:13It's always feeding each other this flow state.
- 31:16I loved that.
- 31:17This, I never want to lose touch with this metaphor you gave of like this ocean and this like, poor, it was so cool.
- 31:23You said something and I was like, oh, I want to write that down.
- 31:26That's so magical.
- 31:27And then.
- 31:28Uh, the, so you said the first was creativity.
- 31:31The second, that was about expanding, expanding your network.
- 31:35Okay.
- 31:35Because you're exposed to so many audiences.
- 31:37That was really powerful too.
- 31:39People don't talk about that.
- 31:40And then, like you said, how your mom believed in you because you showed up with a certain energy.
- 31:44This, you know, student is like, oh my word.
- 31:46If she's like this as a yoga teacher and she also coaches, this is the coach for me, you know, because I trust her.
- 31:52I trust how she holds space.
- 31:53I trust how she lovingly pours into us as students.
- 31:57And I'd love to experience that one on one.
- 31:59And so you're sharing a frequency and that frequency keeps resonating.
- 32:04And then when someone thinks of that craft, they want to experience your frequency in that craft, you know.
- 32:09So you're like carrying this beautiful and powerful energy around.
- 32:13And then this risk diversification is so true.
- 32:16Especially we mentioned, you mentioned it in terms of if the business is doing, you know, poorly or you're not receiving in the way you want to.
- 32:24And then also energetically, if you're like just not feeling lit up by that, maybe you're blocked in your novel writing, maybe you're podcasting, you put on this huge pedestal, but right now it's kind of feeling like, eh, at least if you have something else, you can flow and float and yeah, right.
- 32:38These ebbs and flows.
- 32:39So thank you for those.
- 32:40And then if you do have any more,
- 32:42Yeah, I think more on the human level, you know, because the diversifying risk is quite a strategic thing.
- 32:48The networking, like we're thinking about strategy here, but on a human level, on a soul level.
- 32:55We shift and evolve over time.
- 32:57As humans, we shift and evolve.
- 32:58It's natural.
- 32:59Our interests are going to naturally evolve over time, of course, right?
- 33:05And so actually it's crazy to expect us to do one thing and one thing only for our whole life.
- 33:11Like the multi-passionate journey supports our human nature in a really, really beautiful way.
- 33:18And I've seen time and time again those things
- 33:21people that really, really niche down, even the really successful entrepreneurs that made a lot of money, they will inevitably get to a point where they plateau and they get really scared, terrified of change because they've locked themselves in this one niche.
- 33:39People only know them for doing that.
- 33:40And so it feels really terrifying to listen to that part in their soul that's like, I kind of want to try this other thing.
- 33:47because that's all they've ever done.
- 33:49Whereas us multi-passionates, it's like it's in our nature to give ourselves permission to explore these things.
- 33:55And so pivoting comes much more naturally.
- 33:58Changing direction comes more naturally.
- 34:00Taking a pause comes more naturally.
- 34:02Giving ourselves the permission to explore other avenues, you know, comes more naturally.
- 34:08So there's definitely that on a human level, the gift of just embracing your natural evolution.
- 34:13And then as well,
- 34:15being multi-passionate supports your natural flow if you are and not everyone is right some people do just want to do one thing and one thing only amazing like if that's you amazing for you it probably isn't you if you're watching this episode because you like probably clicked on it because the title resonated it is um
- 34:35But for those that are genuinely multi-passionate, it's probably within your true nature to explore multiple things, to have a love for multiple different passions and skills.
- 34:46And you probably have many different gifts.
- 34:49And so just notice in your body, how does it feel to restrict that and to say to yourself, I'm only going to do this thing or I can't do these other things because the world won't understand it.
- 34:59you are going to quite literally contract you're going to feel restricted you're going to feel like you can't be who you fully are and are you truly successful if you can't be who you fully are and you're like carrying that restriction with you all day long you know we're rewarded for being who we are we're rewarded for following the natural flow of what feels true and right for us the world will feel it you're
- 35:25You know, people will feel our energy when we're being fully in alignment.
- 35:29And so for multi-passionates, that's the invitation to be fully in alignment with who you actually are and let the world see that.
- 35:36So beautiful.
- 35:37That's so beautiful.
- 35:38I love the way you talk about this.
- 35:39It's so enlivening and it makes me feel like very seen and very like a lot of resonance with this because.
- 35:45Yeah.
- 35:46I love how you said that multi-passionate ism is more, it's very in line with human nature.
- 35:52It's an expression of human nature and this image of like a blossoming that just keeps, you know, it's a forest that just, you know, it keeps wanting, maybe now it wants to be a flower.
- 36:01Maybe it wants to be a tree, a leaf, you know, a bird, but it's the same creative energy, but expressing itself in these beautiful ways that then is an ecosystem that feeds into each other.
- 36:11And it's such a beautiful gift to be able to be a multi-passion in this life, even though it may be misunderstood.
- 36:17And then what you said about...
- 36:20trusting change and evolution as part of the multi-passionate spirit versus fearing this idea of change.
- 36:26I think that's such a gift that we do carry.
- 36:29There's a key word you've used a couple of times that I really want to tap into because you've said the word permission.
- 36:36And as a multi-passionate, I feel like that word, that is so much we are seeking.
- 36:40So can you tell us more about permission?
- 36:43So much of the blocks to letting yourself be successful, whatever successful means to you, or to thrive as a multi-passionate, it's not out there.
- 36:55It's not even in your business strategy and in what you're doing.
- 36:58It's in are you giving yourself permission to do all of these things that you love?
- 37:04Or are you stopping yourself, blocking yourself, and not allowing yourself to move forwards?
- 37:09Mm-hmm.
- 37:10So much of it is that because the moment you fully own, like this is me, this is what I want to do, the world will receive you that way.
- 37:20And it's really interesting because I think to myself, I actually...
- 37:27I very rarely get pushback.
- 37:31I very rarely get the feeling of like, oh, someone's judging me or they're thinking like, oh, like, Sabi's weird for doing all this stuff.
- 37:39But I know it's because I own it.
- 37:42I like, I own it, like I celebrate it.
- 37:44I think it's really cool that I do all of these things.
- 37:47I'm really proud of it.
- 37:48And when you go to anyone with that energy, they're going to receive it in that way.
- 37:53Always, always.
- 37:55If you go to someone and you're like, oh, I kind of do this and I kind of do that, that's how they're going to receive it, right?
- 38:02Whereas if you go out into the world fully owned, this is me, I'm a this, but I also do this and I love this.
- 38:10And that's how they're going to receive it.
- 38:12And quite likely people are also going to be like, oh, I kind of wish I could do that too, you know, because I believe that.
- 38:21Actually, most people in their soul are multi passionate.
- 38:25The world has just conditioned us to pick one thing and follow a conventional path.
- 38:31Most people, it's in our human nature to enjoy multiple things and to explore multiple different passions.
- 38:37Yes, exactly.
- 38:38Wow.
- 38:38It's really the systems we live in, like capitalism and colonialism, supremacy that have told us, because it obviously profits those systems, that we have to be this one thing and put our whole life's energy and purpose and meaning into this one thing.
- 38:52And also that has convinced us to ask for less, because of course, if you have one passion, then, you know, your free time, you're going to think, oh, well, I only have this one passion.
- 39:03But now if you have multiple passions, you're asking for more spaciousness to really feed into those.
- 39:07So that just came to me.
- 39:09But yes, absolutely.
- 39:10The energy that you own, it's so even the way you said, I'm at this, but I also do this and I love this.
- 39:15I'm
- 39:15I'm like, oh, if I met someone like that, I'd be like, oh, tell me more.
- 39:18That's amazing.
- 39:19So it is such a law of attraction thing of like putting out that energy of confidence and even maybe practicing doing mirror work and saying it to yourself.
- 39:27Because I think one of the multi-passionate like social fears is asking like, what do you do?
- 39:32Because it's like, so how have you helped people express themselves in a way that feels natural, express who they are in language that can hold all of them?
- 39:42And so, yeah, first of all, definitely, I love what you said about the self work.
- 39:46We can do the mirror work.
- 39:47Practice owning yourself in front of the mirror with how you stand, with how you speak.
- 39:53What's your body language like?
- 39:54What's your tone like?
- 39:55What's the volume of your voice like?
- 39:57Practice journaling, writing it out down, like writing it down and really claiming and owning all of these different parts of you.
- 40:04When it comes to introducing yourself, I actually haven't heard this being said anywhere else.
- 40:10But I will say, you've got permission to modify your elevator pitch, depending on who's in front of you.
- 40:17Like permission.
- 40:18If you're a multi-passionate and you do 10 different things, of course, you can eventually share with them all of the things that you do.
- 40:26But if you're at a networking event, for example, like who's in the room?
- 40:32Like what part of you do you want to be the primary part that's seen in that space?
- 40:39We get to make the rules.
- 40:42You know, you don't have to have one set 30 second pitch that you repeat to every single person.
- 40:47Because probably there's going to be different people that you'll want to share different parts of yourself with.
- 40:54And of course, after that initial introduction, you can also explain the other things you do and they'll find out more things about you anyway.
- 41:01Absolutely.
- 41:02Oh, I love that.
- 41:03Love that.
- 41:03Love that.
- 41:03And what you said, I actually didn't respond to the permission, permission invitation you gave to each of us.
- 41:08That is so powerful.
- 41:09It is so often what we're telling ourselves is possible that we're allowed to experience that we're allowed to want.
- 41:16I mean, I've.
- 41:17Even I am a multi-passionate, but I've gone through this in so many ways.
- 41:20Like I love, I love singing, but I told myself, well, I'm, I'm doing the podcast.
- 41:25So like, I, and, and now I'm going through this invitation of like, you can do many, many things.
- 41:29And I'm making my first song and like that felt, yes, thank you.
- 41:33And I'm like.
- 41:34It's so possible, but it didn't, I had a limited mindset.
- 41:37I didn't know.
- 41:37I thought you could do it in multiple seasons, but you can do so much also in one season.
- 41:42Like there's, there's both.
- 41:43And, um, so it's been so divine that you're coming into the space at this time because it's really this reclamation of like what my little younger self loved and, um,
- 41:54um, acting.
- 41:54And I also do improv and like all these ways we get to just be so many expressions of ourselves and of creativity.
- 42:01Um, and it just feels like so delicious that we even get to have these conversations and get to live life in touch with all this creative energy.
- 42:09It makes me feel so excited.
- 42:10I'm like, ah,
- 42:12Yeah.
- 42:12I love this because I see how that's also connected to what you're doing with the podcast.
- 42:17In the podcast, you're sharing your magic, your light, your voice with the world.
- 42:22And you singing and releasing a song is just another iteration of the same thing.
- 42:27You know, the different modality of expression, but the same thing.
- 42:33I'm excited to hear your music.
- 42:34Thank you.
- 42:35And also, one thing is very likely going to support the other thing.
- 42:39People might find you through your music for the first time and then they'll be like, I want to listen to her podcast.
- 42:44Yeah.
- 42:44Or your current community that love the podcast will be like, I definitely want to listen to him.
- 42:49Yes.
- 42:50Yes.
- 42:51Yeah, it's so true.
- 42:52It's so beautiful.
- 42:53It's like you were saying earlier where, you know, looking back now, you can see how everything you've ever done has supported all that you are nourishing now.
- 43:01So, yeah, I love that so much.
- 43:03We're taught to think in boxes and separation, but it's all so interconnected and interlinked.
- 43:09And it's so true what you said about the podcast, the music.
- 43:12And I, what you said about ideas dropping in in different mediums that really resonated with me because sometimes I'm like working on something on my laptop and then a song just comes in.
- 43:20We've all felt that like music comes to us and it's just, especially, yeah, especially for songwriters.
- 43:28And if there are any more musicians or songwriters in particular or poets or writers, your creativity comes from lived experience.
- 43:38Yeah.
- 43:39So if you're not living, you're not going to be creating art.
- 43:42Absolutely.
- 43:42You're not going to be creating your best art, right?
- 43:44It will be art that is forced and like, whereas if you're out living, embracing your passions, embracing all that you are, like enjoying life fully.
- 43:55you are much more likely to have your best art come through because the ideas are going to flow through you.
- 44:01Yes.
- 44:01Oh, my word.
- 44:02I love that so much.
- 44:03Your art comes from living and experiencing life.
- 44:06And Olivia Dean said this really cool thing in an interview where she said when she writes songs with people, what she prefers is like, let's have a tea.
- 44:14Let's have a chat.
- 44:14Let's chat for hours.
- 44:16And like spend like three to four hours just talking about life.
- 44:18And then we'll write the song in an hour because we've just lived the song or it just it resonated so deeply.
- 44:23I was like, oh, my word.
- 44:24Yeah, that's powerful.
- 44:25It's so true.
- 44:26It comes from living.
- 44:27And even for people that might not consider themselves as creatives, artists, writers, singers, but maybe you're an entrepreneur.
- 44:36And so you have to write music.
- 44:38content for Instagram or content for your newsletter even that type of content is more likely to flow through naturally when it comes from lived experience when you have the embodied experience of it because then you're not trying forcing the content it's going to naturally flow through you when you sit to write so it's really for anyone that wants to share
- 45:01Some form of expression in the world.
- 45:05Oh, so true.
- 45:06Yes, absolutely.
- 45:07So many different.
- 45:09Yeah.
- 45:09And also, I mean, for example, my older brother, he's a software developer, but he also loves gaming.
- 45:15And I feel like there's different ways of being a multi-passionate that I think...
- 45:21It could be this like spiritual mystical side or it could be very different.
- 45:24There's so many ways to be.
- 45:26And he also loves dancing.
- 45:27And so there's like, but he wouldn't call himself a multi-passionate.
- 45:30Like if you asked him, he'd be like, this is why I truly believe everyone is multi-passionate.
- 45:35I think it's true.
- 45:36I believe everyone is.
- 45:37Not everyone needs to.
- 45:40want to make a living from it.
- 45:41Yeah, exactly.
- 45:42They can be perfectly happy in their nine to five and enjoy their job and they don't want to have a business, but they have other things on the side that they really, really love doing that are part of them too.
- 45:54Yeah, as you were saying that, both my brothers love DJing.
- 45:57And so they're all, I mean, the oldest one, Daphne knows he's a multi-passionate, but yeah, it's so true.
- 46:01We're all multi-passionates.
- 46:03Some of us are like closeted multi-passionates.
- 46:05Yeah.
- 46:06um oh my word brilliant okay so I would love this space I feel like I love talking about the unseen the mystical the like who like I'm curious what you think if anything is the like cosmic why did the universe manifest as multi-passionate it's like what do you think is our cosmic purpose on earth
- 46:28Multi-passionates are visionaries.
- 46:31Multi-passionates have a unique way of bringing things together.
- 46:37And that's how new ideas come into creation, right?
- 46:41New things that have never been created before, that have never been built before, come from this interconnectedness of different mediums, this new way of seeing the world.
- 46:52So I believe it's that, you know.
- 46:54For us to naturally evolve...
- 46:57We can't just keep doing things the way we've always done them, you know.
- 47:00So multi-passionates allow new incredible ideas and creations to blossom.
- 47:06The benefit of humanity.
- 47:08We need it.
- 47:09We are needed.
- 47:10Yes, it's so beautiful.
- 47:12Oh, yes.
- 47:12And as you're saying that, what came through is also I love that so much.
- 47:15Like we are...
- 47:17We bring these different aspects together.
- 47:18And also we are the revelation that all those aspects are connected because the human mind like creates separation, but that doesn't exist.
- 47:25And so the multi-passionate stands as this like truth that like actually DJing sound vibration frequency is completely interconnected with healing meditation, you know, with business, with creating an abundant life for yourself, with coaching, with leadership.
- 47:40It's like, it is oneness and the multi-passionate stands as like the living, breathing embodiment of oneness.
- 47:46which I think is so amazing.
- 47:47I love that.
- 47:48And I love that you even just said that with DJing because, you know, I explained my DJing path earlier, but it's been really cool sometimes when I've been DJing and I felt this is the same as my other work.
- 48:00It's just a different medium, right?
- 48:02Holding space for people to heal, to connect,
- 48:05to be in their joy, to be in the essence of who they are.
- 48:09You're guiding and facilitating a room in a very different way, you know, not using your voice.
- 48:13And you're taking people on a journey back to themselves.
- 48:18And it feels like the same essence.
- 48:22I'm just sharing it in a different way.
- 48:24And I can see that for you when you're singing or if you are performing, right, you're helping people feel something.
- 48:31You're helping people connect to themselves.
- 48:33You're helping people feel their emotions and a part of them.
- 48:36You're helping them heal just like you are on the podcast.
- 48:41Oh, I love it.
- 48:42Yes, yes, yes, yes.
- 48:43Oh, the way you describe DJing and holding space, that feeling of, oh, this is just the same.
- 48:48That's so profound.
- 48:49Like that gives me chills.
- 48:50Like this kind of also bends reality and time because it's like I'm DJing, but it's like I'm also in the meditation room.
- 48:57I'm also in my coaching one-on-ones.
- 48:59I'm like, I'm all these, this is all one with all of it.
- 49:02You know, healing doesn't have to be in a cave in the Himalayas, right?
- 49:07Like we get to heal in the middle of,
- 49:10London in the busy city, you know, and some of the best healers are DJs and singers that touch people that don't even know what the word spiritual means.
- 49:20That people would never even think I'm going to meditate, but they listen to a song or they go to a club and they feel this sense of connection and healing without them needing to do traditional spiritual practices, you know, because healing is for everyone.
- 49:35And so it's really beautiful that there are so many ways that people can access that.
- 49:42I'm so curious, what has DJing taught you about like energy?
- 49:47Because you are continually reading the room.
- 49:51And I, it's funny, actually, I was teaching a yoga class and...
- 49:56a few days ago, and I remember thinking of the DJ similarity.
- 50:02I was teaching this yoga class, and it was quite a busy one, and you're continually reading the room, like, how are these people...
- 50:09responding to what I'm giving out, to what I'm saying.
- 50:12Are they struggling?
- 50:14Are they tired?
- 50:15Do they feel energized?
- 50:16Do they need something different?
- 50:18Do I need to change up the flow or the sequence a little?
- 50:20Do I need to go slower?
- 50:23So you're continually reading people's energy in a split second.
- 50:27You know, you don't have a very long amount of time and it's continually shifting.
- 50:30For example, in a one hour vinyasa class, the energy is continually shifting.
- 50:39it's a skill that comes over time, you know, doing something over time and, you
- 50:46DJing feels very similar.
- 50:48You're looking, you're watching the room.
- 50:50How are people responding to the song selection, to the pace?
- 50:55Like, do they need something different?
- 50:56Do I need to stay here a bit longer?
- 50:58Do I need to shift things?
- 51:00And so it is this continuous check-in with the people that are in front of you and where they're at.
- 51:06What are the little cues you're looking for?
- 51:08For DJing or for...
- 51:10It also depends on what kind of an event it is, you know, if it's...
- 51:15an event that's more chill then you might not have so many cues if it's just like a background music people are chatting but if it's like a club where you're wanting people to dance it's are they dancing are they connected to themselves is there a big pause where they kind of stop and they look
- 51:32bored um do they seem engaged in in the music and where the energy is going are they leaving the room are they clearing the dance floor are they going to the other room yes and in a yoga class i'm sure it's very subtle are they taking a lot of pauses which sometimes you know people can pause whenever it whenever it is that they need to what's the expression on their face you know do they look connected do they seem connected does it seem like they're really struggling
- 52:03um do they yeah seem like they're like enjoying the the session um so I guess facial expressions um body's response um rest you know versus leaving like all of these little things that I think just come with
- 52:25over time, beginning to notice.
- 52:27Wow, I ask because I feel like as students of things, we never think that that's happening, you know, that there's this dialogue.
- 52:33I would also say that it's...
- 52:35I'm not consciously like, oh, this, they're doing this and this.
- 52:39Totally.
- 52:39It's like a split second.
- 52:40Yeah, a gift.
- 52:41I'm not even just...
- 52:44I guess it is a gift that comes with time of holding space for so long in so many different capacities.
- 52:52And this is why I say all of our past experience helps us, from teaching dance to kids to primary school.
- 52:59If you can teach 30 kids in the most disadvantaged schools in London, you can hold space for anyone, no problem, right?
- 53:05Because you're continually reading those cues.
- 53:08And so yoga classes to, you know, really big coaching events and and, you know, DJing and like they all support each other because they are all holding space.
- 53:18They are all reading a room and reading people's energy and responding to what they need in the moment.
- 53:24And so it is no longer a conscious thing.
- 53:29It just comes through and we respond.
- 53:32Oh, that is so beautiful.
- 53:34And like it's so wonderful to think of like people doing things with so much thoughtfulness and actually intuition and care because you really have to care about the room to want to.
- 53:44tap into the energy and respond.
- 53:46And so I think it's such a gift to think that we're being cared for by incredible teachers and DJs and musicians who are like trying to channel this energy into the song or into this moment or into this performance and performers and actors like that.
- 54:00There is this intuitive like energy gift that's often beneath the surface of so many of our interactions, which I think is really beautiful.
- 54:07So I'm always curious, like, what's the most
- 54:09There's a craft as we see it, but then as someone who actually does that craft has like this deeper knowing about what it entails, which I think is such a gift.
- 54:21So powerful.
- 54:22So powerful.
- 54:23Wow.
- 54:26The next question I'd love to ask you.
- 54:30is about some of the challenges that the multi-passionate faces and also the shadows of, you know, because everything has gifts and shadows.
- 54:37So I'm so curious what comes up for you.
- 54:39Yeah, I will say, I feel like I've been speaking about this path very positively and passionately because I am passionate about it.
- 54:46Really passionate.
- 54:47And this is not the easy path, guys.
- 54:50This is not the easy path.
- 54:51Yeah.
- 54:52This is not the easy path.
- 54:54It's not for everyone.
- 54:57It's the courageous path for sure.
- 55:02Some of the challenges.
- 55:03The juggle is real.
- 55:05The juggle is real.
- 55:07I'm putting that on a t-shirt.
- 55:08That's brilliant.
- 55:12We are only one human with 24 hours in a day.
- 55:15We need to sleep for eight hours and have our self-care time and time with our friends and our families, you know.
- 55:21And so we have a certain number of hours in the day.
- 55:24And so just that awareness of I do have a limited time and there are more things I actually want to do and create than maybe, you know, the next person.
- 55:36And so that awareness of that can sometimes feel really, really challenging.
- 55:40I would say, I think there's been acceptance for me from this next point.
- 55:45Mastery can take a bit longer, you know, because I mean, what do they say?
- 55:49Is it 10,000 hours they say it takes to become an expert?
- 55:52So it's probably going to take you.
- 55:55longer to become an expert in each of your threads or each of your skills for me I'm okay with that you know I'm like all right I've got my lifetime and I'll do what I can in this lifetime with the time that I have and that's okay you know and I've also found that the beautiful thing is I know we're challenges I'm coming back to the positives but the um
- 56:20A good thing is that once you've been in one, for example, teaching yoga and coaching, I've been doing for a long, long time now.
- 56:27So I do feel quite masterful in those areas.
- 56:30So they don't take as much time and capacity now because they're just in me.
- 56:35They flow through me, whereas things that are newer, newer skills that I might begin to take a lot more time and energy.
- 56:41Right.
- 56:42And so they might require a bit more energy output.
- 56:45And so it's just that navigation of all of the different things that you do.
- 56:49can can be a challenge um what else I sometimes question like imagine if I only did one thing what if I was just a yoga teacher or just you know just just a coach or not even just a coach just a coach that specialized in one area because even within my coaching you know I I'm quite multifaceted
- 57:12um what if I only did this one thing maybe I'd be really seen as an expert maybe I'd be have a much bigger audience maybe I'd make a lot more money um maybe I'd have more time to pour into content and all of this so that can sometimes feel like a challenge but I then do step back and ask myself
- 57:34Sabi, would you actually be happy if you poured all your time and energy into this one thing so you could make more money and be seen as an expert and be more successful?
- 57:44But is it true success if it comes at the cost of who I really am?
- 57:50Probably not, you know, probably not.
- 57:54But the challenge is you are continuously met, even if someone like me, who is so proud of being a multi-passionate, I'm not immune from like sitting with the very real thoughts of...
- 58:07I might make more money if I only did this one thing, or I might have a bigger audience if I only talked about this type of thing and content.
- 58:15Like, I don't know.
- 58:16So maybe I wouldn't.
- 58:18But those thoughts are there.
- 58:20Thank you for explaining that.
- 58:21That really resonates.
- 58:22I feel we all have these these fears.
- 58:24And I love that the.
- 58:26challenges did bring you back to the beauties because it is a polarity.
- 58:29It is a dance.
- 58:30And for naming so clearly, like some of those thoughts of what if I'd be more successful?
- 58:35What if I'd make more money?
- 58:36What if it would just be a simpler life?
- 58:38But then the truth, it wouldn't be my life.
- 58:41It wouldn't make me feel lit up and happy and fulfilled.
- 58:44And I think that is the ultimate gift.
- 58:46And it also ties to your self-love work, which I'm excited to get into because in loving ourselves, we can't accept that we just...
- 58:53dim our light just to make more money or make you know what I mean so totally and this path is such a self-love path that's why yeah my self-love coaching work is so intertwined with supporting multi-passionates because it really is about choosing yourself and coming back to your own authentic light over who the world tells you to be or what's expected of you um
- 59:19Because sure, you know, most business advice say pick a niche, really niche down, become known for that one thing.
- 59:27And it might work.
- 59:29You know, it can be a good business strategy if your focus is...
- 59:37monetary values and, you know, numbers like it might work.
- 59:42But just because it works in that way, does that mean it's right for you if it comes at the cost of who you really are?
- 59:49You know, and so I really love people to revisit what's your definition of success.
- 59:55Of course, we all want to make a lot of money and be seen and known for the things that we do.
- 1:00:00Right.
- 1:00:01So that gets to be part of it, too.
- 1:00:02Like we are all deserving of that.
- 1:00:06alongside really embracing who you are.
- 1:00:09And so it feels like this dance of desiring those things, but also wanting to uphold these other things, which are sometimes a little unconventional.
- 1:00:19Yes.
- 1:00:21Yes.
- 1:00:21That is such being in reverence to yourself and holding yourself with so much love is, is,
- 1:00:28this beautiful like integration and acceptance of all of these parts of ourselves and allowing them space.
- 1:00:34And also what you said about defining what success means to you versus am I using a social definition, my mom's definition, my, you know, so many things imposed on me versus what is a truly meaningful, successful life to me.
- 1:00:46And then I also want to loop back to what you were saying about
- 1:00:50the different projects and different passions, sort of being at different stages.
- 1:00:55It gave me this image of like being a mother and like, you know, you're a toddler requires more energy and like sleepless nights, but you have some, your yoga and things you've been doing for years that you said you just channeled through naturally they're in you.
- 1:01:06And it's like, maybe they're in their early twenties or they're a teenager.
- 1:01:10You know, they, they don't ask as much of like your physical time and attention in the same way.
- 1:01:16And I love that we're like able to mother these different and parent these different parts of ourselves and then trust that different ones will need different forms of care at different times.
- 1:01:25Because I've often used that when I feel like, do I get to have both?
- 1:01:28And I'm like, yeah, but parents have multiple children and they do their best to show up for the specific needs of that child.
- 1:01:35And they don't think like, oh, well, you know, of course, having the one child, you'd be able to pull.
- 1:01:39But there is a magic to having.
- 1:01:42Yeah.
- 1:01:42And then you maybe also have a dog and, you know, there's and you care for different things and you nurture them.
- 1:01:47And you trust that showing up imperfectly is part of the magic of being a human, a human being.
- 1:01:54So and some of your.
- 1:01:58your skills and your gifts get to be at different places.
- 1:02:01Some of them can be at like maintenance stage.
- 1:02:04Some of them might be at growth stage.
- 1:02:09So they're going to require different amounts of energy and that can be really supportive to know.
- 1:02:16It can be hard to move forwards if as a multi-passionate, you are completely starting five new things at once.
- 1:02:26Yes.
- 1:02:27Right.
- 1:02:27And you're like, why is nothing happening?
- 1:02:30Why am I not getting anywhere?
- 1:02:32And it's because at the start of any journey that requires so much more energy, so much more focus, so much more time.
- 1:02:39And so I'm not saying you can't do all of those things, but let's be smart about it.
- 1:02:45We're one human with a set amount of time.
- 1:02:47Let's be smart about it.
- 1:02:50What things do you really want to lock in first?
- 1:02:52And so maybe portion most of your time and energy for those.
- 1:02:56And the other things can tick over along the side.
- 1:02:58You still do them because you love them and you enjoy them, but you might not pour all of your energy into them.
- 1:03:04And then when the one or two things are starting to flourish a bit more, whatever that looks like for whatever it is that you're doing,
- 1:03:12Once they're doing well or you're feeling quite good with them or it's starting to feel more natural, they're going to take a bit less energy, you know?
- 1:03:21It's just like, for example, starting a podcast right at the start.
- 1:03:25There's so much to figure out.
- 1:03:28The tech and the getting people to know about it and the like...
- 1:03:32interviewing people and it takes a lot of the start and then once you've done it for six months a year two years you're like okay we know how to do this now I can now launch my music out into the world you know that's what I would suggest anyone do that's in this space of like I'm a multi-passion and I just can't get anything done
- 1:03:53Hmm.
- 1:03:55Oh, you are speaking to us.
- 1:03:58You are speaking to us.
- 1:03:59Oh my goodness.
- 1:04:00Yes.
- 1:04:01What you said about starting.
- 1:04:04Sahara Rose, do you know her?
- 1:04:05Oh, I love her so much.
- 1:04:07And she would always say, or she used to say a lot, like that you don't give birth to like multiple babies at once.
- 1:04:12So it's like the birthing process does require sometimes, just like, as you said, being smart about how your energy is, because you know, the start of something exactly, starting a podcast, starting something.
- 1:04:23But then it's like, this is so normal to me.
- 1:04:24It's just even when I was getting ready today, I was like, you know, I used to feel so, and I'm actually very much in the beginning of this interviewing journey, but yeah.
- 1:04:33at least not on the number one.
- 1:04:34I think maybe this is like 10th or something.
- 1:04:36And I was like, oh, wow, I used to feel like so stressed.
- 1:04:38And so like this.
- 1:04:39And I was like, wow, like this is more sort of inflow versus like starting something new.
- 1:04:45And that feels really rewarding.
- 1:04:47And that is creating space to then pour into the music.
- 1:04:49And even creating the first song, I'm like, this will feel like, oh, my word, the song.
- 1:04:54And then eventually it'll be normal to you.
- 1:04:55You'll just make music.
- 1:04:56So thank you for sharing that.
- 1:04:58It's so beautiful.
- 1:04:59And then you did share something that I think isn't discussed enough.
- 1:05:03You said, I have had to accept that mastery will take longer, but I'm okay with that.
- 1:05:07That's so beautiful because I think some people try to either go one way or the other.
- 1:05:11Either they'll say the only way to be a master is to focus on one thing, which isn't true.
- 1:05:16Or they'll say...
- 1:05:18you can be a master at everything now, you know, you know, so it's like...
- 1:05:22It's interesting because I do feel on the one hand that multi-passionate creatives do have quite a gift for being able to pick up things quicker.
- 1:05:34So maybe mastery does come a bit quicker for us than the average human.
- 1:05:40I don't think there's any such thing as an average human.
- 1:05:42I think every human is perfectly capable of incredible creativity.
- 1:05:46I think it's in absolutely everyone.
- 1:05:47But for those of us that embrace it, I would say, I feel like we do have a gift of learning things quite quickly, which is really powerful.
- 1:06:01So it's not that we're not able to reach that level of mastery and it might take us a bit quicker than,
- 1:06:07But if there are multiple things that we're doing, we don't have the same amount of time as someone that, you know, if I think about DJing, that's all that they're doing.
- 1:06:20And they really lock in on that skill and they practice every single day and they're booking gigs all of the time and they're able to record mixes all of the time.
- 1:06:28And like, of course, they're going to get better quicker than me.
- 1:06:32That's just how time works.
- 1:06:34Right.
- 1:06:36And so I sometimes grapple with that.
- 1:06:39And I'm like, and it's okay, you know, and it's okay.
- 1:06:44There isn't actually a rush.
- 1:06:45I will get there when I get there.
- 1:06:47I'm really enjoying the journey and I'm enjoying the process.
- 1:06:50And maybe I'm able to offer the craft some things that that person spending five hours a day locked in just on their DJ transitions.
- 1:06:59They might not have access to other things I'm able to bring DJing because of my other skills, you know, and so I'm aware of that as well.
- 1:07:07that's so real because also i'm thinking that part of your dj set maybe you start introducing yourself and then you share something that drops in and that is part of what someone takes from your set is your ability to speak and ability to you know your multiple ways that you bring things together that that locked in person maybe you know it's like what we receive from something isn't always what the artist intends sometimes it's actually like you go to a concert and then it's like
- 1:07:30what someone says in the first line is like the most magical thing you've ever heard.
- 1:07:34And that's what you take from the concert.
- 1:07:36So yeah, that's beautiful.
- 1:07:37There's always going to be things we can bring.
- 1:07:40And then what you said about our gift to pick things up quickly, that's so powerful.
- 1:07:43That's so true.
- 1:07:44And I actually haven't heard that be named before because it is really true.
- 1:07:49And what came through as you were saying that is like, we're so in touch with a natural flow within ourselves that there's already a momentum that's been building towards that craft.
- 1:07:56Like, for example, my best friend who is here, who's incredible, just did a comedy class.
- 1:08:01And he is so naturally like he's so good at comedy, but also because he's a writer, he's a speaker, he's hilarious.
- 1:08:07And he's been writing comedy in his spare time, just on his voice note app.
- 1:08:11So there was a momentum.
- 1:08:12He was in an intro class.
- 1:08:14But like that passion was there all along and he had been tending to it.
- 1:08:17And so he just came out like this blossoming where other people might be a seed.
- 1:08:21And he's like blossomed.
- 1:08:22This actually makes me think of what I said earlier, that all of our creative skills are linked and one thing helps another.
- 1:08:28You know, they say that if you learn one language, it's going to be easier to learn the second language.
- 1:08:34If you learn two languages, it's going to be much easier to learn the third.
- 1:08:37You already have the processes in place.
- 1:08:39You know how to learn the language.
- 1:08:41You have an understanding of grammar.
- 1:08:43You know the process and you know what it takes.
- 1:08:46And so when you pick up the second, the third, the fourth, the fifth thing, that learning process is going to become a lot quicker, actually.
- 1:08:53And I feel like it's exactly the same with our creative gifts and with what we're sharing in the world.
- 1:08:59Yeah.
- 1:08:59And so whatever you're doing now is probably going to support you with learning the next thing, which is pretty cool.
- 1:09:06pretty damn cool that's amazing it's so cool yes I love it and the underlying skill is creating how do you go from something not existing to existing once you're in touch with that flow you can start anything like I know that like as artists as creatives as like whether it's a business whether it's a song whether it's like if you're in touch with like like I know on one of your podcast episodes you were talking about the creative act the book which I love um and like that
- 1:09:34language of creativity if you speak it you could speak it anywhere you know and you can learn how to speak like oh okay i see this i see that so i think that's so brilliant that's so true i think the language analogy is so poignant it's like yes exactly learning the second language of course is going to be so much easier than the first language you've ever learned um or the third or the fourth or fifth that's so powerful
- 1:09:56Yeah.
- 1:09:57I wish more people, well, this is why we're doing this podcast, right?
- 1:10:00I wish more people could like really embrace that because it's such a, what a gift, what an asset when you start to own this and when you start to see the benefits, like you're no longer feeling ashamed or a disadvantage because you like all of these things.
- 1:10:16You actually see that they really complement your life and make your life rich and alive and support you.
- 1:10:22Yes, rich and alive.
- 1:10:24Absolutely.
- 1:10:25Oh my goodness.
- 1:10:25Yes.
- 1:10:26Um, so just now we were talking about mastery and slowness and acceptance.
- 1:10:30What would you say to someone who is more in that mindset where they're very ambitious at their multiple crafts and they struggle with the idea that it will take them, it could take them longer by pursuing multiple things.
- 1:10:44I can sometimes slip into this where I feel like there's multi-passionates who, um,
- 1:10:48want to explore openly, like there's the archetype where they're like not really trying to get somewhere.
- 1:10:52They're just trying to be in touch with the process.
- 1:10:54Then you do have multi-passionates who are very ambitious.
- 1:10:57I would say I'm like that, where I'm like, anything I do, I want to try and do at the highest level.
- 1:11:01I mean, is it a flaw?
- 1:11:02Is it a strength?
- 1:11:03Whatever.
- 1:11:03But I'm like, no, no, I need to see where this could go.
- 1:11:05And so sometimes I'm like, but if I just went all in on this and it's that masculine and voice of like society and, you know.
- 1:11:13But what would you say to someone who's maybe...
- 1:11:16not come to the place where you have where you're like, I accept that in some ways, if I'm not DJing all hours of the day, of course, you know, who hasn't reached that place?
- 1:11:26Yeah, a couple of things, actually.
- 1:11:30On the one hand...
- 1:11:32If you do, what can be quite powerful?
- 1:11:34If you do want to be like, I just, I'm really ambitious.
- 1:11:38I want to know what would happen if I go all in.
- 1:11:40One way you could do it as a multi-passionate is give yourself like a pocket of time without abandoning everything else that you do.
- 1:11:46You might be like...
- 1:11:48for two months or for the next month, I'm actually going to really focus on my music.
- 1:11:54And then after that month or two, I'll come back to doing it alongside my podcast and my other work.
- 1:12:01And that might be a way that you can really have this concentrated amount of time where you pour completely into this thing while not abandoning the other thing.
- 1:12:09And actually we can get a hell of a lot done in a month if we focus all of our energy into it.
- 1:12:14Sometimes even more,
- 1:12:16in that one month than in a year if in a year we're like oh I'm just going to focus on my music for a year but it's such a long amount of time that you're a bit like wishy-washy and like whereas it's if it's a short channeled amount of time you can get so much done um so I maybe suggest if you're multi-passionate and you don't want to give up your other avenues maybe look at exploring that way of working um I'm
- 1:12:41taking some time off this summer from like work just to pour into my creativity to go to loads of dance classes to DJ to practice to just be in my like own creative essence and energy so that I can fill up that part of me so that I'm really excited about that so that's one thing that you know you could explore and on the other side
- 1:13:02I would say some of the mindset and inner exploration.
- 1:13:07What is your attachment to needing it right now?
- 1:13:09Oh, speak on it girl.
- 1:13:12Say it.
- 1:13:13Where is it going to go?
- 1:13:15Like if it doesn't happen in the next month or two, like, can you give it grace and space and time to blossom as it's meant to blossom?
- 1:13:22You know, some of the most incredible artists, their journey has taken so much time, you know?
- 1:13:28And we,
- 1:13:33All of a sudden they're like blowing up and they're winning Grammys.
- 1:13:38And who was it recently?
- 1:13:40Kalani or someone.
- 1:13:41And she's been like, you know, she's been at it for 10, 20 years.
- 1:13:45We didn't know about her then.
- 1:13:46We had no clue who she was, but she was, she was doing it.
- 1:13:51And over that long process, all of a sudden she starts to become known.
- 1:13:58Imagine if she'd rushed that process, what she would have missed along the way.
- 1:14:01Ooh, that's just a parable.
- 1:14:03Imagine if she'd rushed that process.
- 1:14:05I want to read that story.
- 1:14:06Yes, yes, yes, yes.
- 1:14:07Right?
- 1:14:08If she'd rushed that process, she wouldn't have lived fully.
- 1:14:11We probably, to receive her music the way that we're receiving it now, she needed to go through what she went through.
- 1:14:17She needed to live her life the way that she did.
- 1:14:20She needed to have the failures and the setbacks and the time.
- 1:14:23Yes.
- 1:14:24Like that essence of like, sigh.
- 1:14:27this is taking a while, but I'm dedicated to it.
- 1:14:29And I love the art and I love the craft.
- 1:14:32That's what ends up creating the beautiful art.
- 1:14:34Not the rush and the force.
- 1:14:36And I need this to happen right now.
- 1:14:37Yes.
- 1:14:38Oh, that was so powerful.
- 1:14:40Yes, exactly.
- 1:14:42Oh, my word.
- 1:14:43Imagine if she hadn't taken her time.
- 1:14:44Yes.
- 1:14:45And the richness and resonance of the music now has been shaped by that slow devotion to something.
- 1:14:53And I also adore this invitation to like sit with that inner work of what within me needs this to happen now.
- 1:15:00What is the attachment like you mentioned?
- 1:15:03And I love this because I think we are we're given a lot of case studies of people who do go all in.
- 1:15:09But it's not the whole story.
- 1:15:11There's many people I'm reading this autobiography of Nina Simone.
- 1:15:14And she started as a pianist.
- 1:15:15She didn't even have any intention to sing.
- 1:15:17She was so devoted to piano.
- 1:15:19I mean, I think she was more in that like specialist sort of she was really, really obsessed with the piano practice, like five to seven hours a day sometimes.
- 1:15:28Um, but then started singing more so because the environment that she was performing in, the performers in these like, you know, I don't know if you would call them like jazz clubs or what they would be.
- 1:15:38Um, they...
- 1:15:41preferred and would patronize more so.
- 1:15:45So they basically like were seeking more singers.
- 1:15:47So she started singing more so because that's what the crowd wanted her to do.
- 1:15:52Not because she like had this passion for singing.
- 1:15:54So, and then look at what we have now from her music.
- 1:15:58I think it's, I'd love to see like a case study of just how many multi-passion, I mean, like Janelle Monae and they have their acting and their music and fashion and like seeing these people really bring to life these multiple textures of who they are is really powerful.
- 1:16:12So thank you for taking us there.
- 1:16:14And I want to sit with that question because I sometimes get attached to like both.
- 1:16:16where could this be in a year if you just and it's like and then also the invitation for like the month or the two months to focus I think that's really beautiful so you're giving us both the like wisdom and then the tactical sort of advice that's really helpful for anyone listening and also another reminder is I mean it's like anything
- 1:16:38Yes, have the goals and the ambition and create the plan and then do as much as you can, you know, but really enjoy the process.
- 1:16:49really let yourself once you know you have the plan and you're taking the steps then let yourself enjoy the process of getting there because if your sole focus is i need to be here with my work with my art with my business with whatever it is you're going to get there and you're probably then going to be on to the next goal straight away right because you were taken right out of the journey
- 1:17:12Such an important reminder for all of us.
- 1:17:14Yes, absolutely.
- 1:17:15I feel like also when you have a craft that doesn't end, like for example, something I really love about podcasting is there's not an endpoint, even the top podcast is what do they do?
- 1:17:24They release an episode each week.
- 1:17:26So it's a process.
- 1:17:26It's a devotion.
- 1:17:27It's a craft.
- 1:17:29And so there's no ending.
- 1:17:30There's just like you can choose to end it.
- 1:17:32That's beautiful.
- 1:17:33And I'd actually love to hear your thoughts on how multi-passionates have the gift of moving on.
- 1:17:38That's a question I have.
- 1:17:40That's good, actually.
- 1:17:41The gift of moving on, how to know when something has served its time.
- 1:17:46Yeah.
- 1:17:46I will say that the beautiful thing about life, especially when it's, you know, our passions and our gifts and our skills, is we might close something and then realize later that we want to come back to it.
- 1:17:57Period.
- 1:17:58Yes.
- 1:17:58So nothing has to be closed forever.
- 1:18:00Yes.
- 1:18:01Um, I think you will know for me, it's like a feeling of when something has served its time.
- 1:18:11Um, I, I didn't even mention this in my story.
- 1:18:16Um, it was somewhere in between primary school teaching and starting to teach yoga.
- 1:18:23I had this dance events business where I would, um,
- 1:18:29run these kids parties, hen parties, do wedding dance lessons alongside my school teaching.
- 1:18:38So it was, yeah, using dance as like a celebration.
- 1:18:41So people would book me for these parties at the weekend.
- 1:18:47So I was doing this in between my full time school teaching.
- 1:18:50And I loved it.
- 1:18:51I love that I was able to
- 1:18:53share dance with people.
- 1:18:54I love that I had like a little business.
- 1:18:56I love that I was getting booked.
- 1:18:58It felt really fun and I felt really fulfilled.
- 1:19:03And it also, it was my first taste of like setting up a business.
- 1:19:10like getting booked for things something that I created just myself you know seeing my creation go from zero to something felt so powerful I remember I stayed up like all night to build this website I would leaflet and I would flyer and and so that felt really beautiful for me starting something and then it turning into something and I loved it for a little while
- 1:19:42I didn't not like it.
- 1:19:46But my soul was really, I think, wanting to teach yoga more and explore that path more.
- 1:19:52And the yoga, the dance parties business.
- 1:19:59I, yeah, I didn't have the same zest for it anymore.
- 1:20:02It felt like it served the purpose at the time, you know?
- 1:20:08It taught me how to set up a little business.
- 1:20:12It gave me a lot of incredible skills.
- 1:20:14It gave me the mindset of like, I can start something and it can work and I can make money from putting my gifts out into the world and random strangers will book me for things.
- 1:20:24That was amazing.
- 1:20:26But then I just really felt this internal pull to begin to put my energy into something else.
- 1:20:32Beautiful thing is I could go back and do that at any time.
- 1:20:35Right.
- 1:20:36At any time.
- 1:20:36So it's not like doesn't have to be over forever, but you will feel when you're called in another direction.
- 1:20:44Yes.
- 1:20:45Oh, wow.
- 1:20:46And I think as well for anyone, for the multi-passionates,
- 1:20:50that find themselves worrying because you're like, I never see things through or like I'm continuously jumping from this to this, to this, to this, to this.
- 1:21:00I have, you know, maybe fear of commitment.
- 1:21:04That feels different.
- 1:21:05So I think what I did at the dance with the dance parties, I felt complete.
- 1:21:10I felt like this has served me.
- 1:21:12I've actually gave it,
- 1:21:14a lot of my energy and time and I built something that I was proud of and all right I don't feel that same amount of like drive for it now and so I want to put my energy somewhere else um and so for those of you that are flitting from thing to thing to thing give yourself permission to slow down a little um and
- 1:21:37try and pour a bit more energy into creating something that builds a little more before you jump to a new thing for example I'm very multi-passionate as you know and I said to myself this year I wanted to learn how to produce and I was like savvy wait until next year I was like we're not gonna learn a new thing this year we're gonna wait
- 1:22:02next year you can do it if you still want to oh wow oh i love this oh you're holding us oh my goodness this is so lovely the idea of like that is so amazing that you created that dance event all that wisdom is with you that feeling of like it was lighting you up and then it wasn't and that's this natural evolution of life like a relationship we don't know how long something is yeah in our lives for when
- 1:22:25I just think all the things you've done are just so magical.
- 1:22:27Oh my goodness.
- 1:22:27I love this so much.
- 1:22:29Um, what would you say?
- 1:22:30You seem very in touch with your zest for life.
- 1:22:33You know, what lights you up and what doesn't.
- 1:22:36And like, you feel like very in touch with this.
- 1:22:37And I'm sure also as a dancer and like as an embodiment coach, you're really in your body.
- 1:22:42What would you say to someone who's like, I don't know.
- 1:22:44Like, I don't know.
- 1:22:45I don't know.
- 1:22:45Maybe, maybe it could be this maybe they're like, not as like, this doesn't light me up anymore.
- 1:22:50Yeah.
- 1:22:51I feel like you probably do know, but you're disconnected from the part of you that knows, you know, because we're taught to think from our heads a lot of the time and to make logical decisions and to make decisions that make sense.
- 1:23:05And this path doesn't always make sense, you guys.
- 1:23:08Yeah.
- 1:23:10you gotta let go of sense you gotta let go of things making sense right because if making sense is what makes the most money and like this this path might not be for you actually um and so it's letting go of it having to make conventional rational sense first of all
- 1:23:30And then beginning to connect back to if you're someone that the word like purpose feels overwhelming or like what's my passion, what's my purpose, what thing am I meant to do next?
- 1:23:40If that feels too overwhelming because you're like, I'm not fully sure, I kind of like this, I kind of like this.
- 1:23:47Drop the pressure, drop the expectation, let go of you needing this massive purpose and follow the thread of curiosity instead.
- 1:23:55You know, lean into like, what am I curious about?
- 1:23:59I don't have to make money from it.
- 1:24:01I don't need to make it my thing.
- 1:24:02It doesn't need to become my work.
- 1:24:04What am I curious about?
- 1:24:05What would I like to spend time doing this evening if I have a spare evening?
- 1:24:09What would I like to learn?
- 1:24:10Like everyone will be able to have some.
- 1:24:13If you sit long enough with that question, something will come to you.
- 1:24:17You don't need to be crazy about it yet.
- 1:24:19You don't need to like...
- 1:24:20make it your life yet just what am I curious about what am I interested in even vaguely what thing has been like tapping me on the shoulder like listen to me like let's try this out and so lean into that if you're in the camp of like I'm unsure what I want to do next lean into that curiosity instead completely release the pressure
- 1:24:41Absolutely.
- 1:24:41Oh, I love this.
- 1:24:42Oh, what would I love to learn?
- 1:24:44What am I just feeling called to?
- 1:24:46And I think what you said earlier about when you're doing another craft, sometimes those answers come through.
- 1:24:50So if it's taking a walk or dancing or doing breath work or, you know, having a conversation with a friend, sometimes just in the conversation, something is like, oh, there it is.
- 1:24:59You know, the beautiful thing is there is no expectation that you need to do anything with it.
- 1:25:06Right.
- 1:25:06If you're like, oh, I want to learn.
- 1:25:10how to make beautiful dresses.
- 1:25:11And it's like, oh, maybe I'm supposed to have a career in fashion.
- 1:25:13You're like, let's give ourselves the space to go to a class, a sewing class, or like let's just book on to a class, a one-off class, a one-month, you know, four-week class.
- 1:25:27Go to a workshop, learn something new just for fun, just for your joy.
- 1:25:31Like let things be just for your fun and your joy and your curiosity at the start.
- 1:25:37You might come to the end of that class and be like, you know what?
- 1:25:40That's not for me.
- 1:25:41Amazing.
- 1:25:42What amazing information that you now have.
- 1:25:45So I always say, take the next step.
- 1:25:47You're going to get information either way.
- 1:25:49You might be like, wow, I love this.
- 1:25:50I'm going to book on to the next class.
- 1:25:53You might be like, I'm unsure.
- 1:25:54I'll give it another go.
- 1:25:55You might be like, absolutely not.
- 1:25:57Well, amazing, because now, you know, rather than ruminating for the next year, maybe I'm supposed to do this thing.
- 1:26:03You know, you get information from each decision that you take, but you need to make the decision.
- 1:26:08A lot of people don't know what they want to do because they're not making the decisions because they're frozen.
- 1:26:13Right.
- 1:26:13Paralysis.
- 1:26:15We only get information for what we want to do from our lives from actually taking those steps.
- 1:26:25Such a powerful reminder.
- 1:26:26Thank you so much.
- 1:26:27Flowing into action, receiving information from that action.
- 1:26:31It's so true.
- 1:26:32It's so true.
- 1:26:33Taking this step and allowing that to give us more information about, oh, this feels good.
- 1:26:39This could feel good.
- 1:26:39Like creating that space, also that invitation that you've shared.
- 1:26:43For me, improv is that space of like, I have no ambition for it.
- 1:26:47I just want to keep doing it.
- 1:26:48I feel like little you in that dance class where it's like, I feel so lit up.
- 1:26:51My inner child feels like, ooh, ooh, ooh.
- 1:26:53But I have no like it's just for me.
- 1:26:55It's just it's just for the exploration of it itself.
- 1:26:58Curious.
- 1:27:01What like imagine if it ended up going somewhere like would you be open to it?
- 1:27:05Well, now that you do ask that.
- 1:27:08Yes.
- 1:27:09I feel like as a child, I loved acting and my best friend, Alex, we have like this wild cosmic, like connection of like co-creation.
- 1:27:17That's really amazing.
- 1:27:19He is an actor and he is, he acted and then now he's going back to acting classes, just like you've shared.
- 1:27:26So like he had this dream that sort of like lay dormant in him for a while and didn't really have its expression.
- 1:27:32And now moving to London, there's just more possibility.
- 1:27:34There's so I mean, such a storied history of acting here.
- 1:27:38And so he's taking acting classes, but he's also an incredible writer.
- 1:27:41He writes like scripts, he writes books.
- 1:27:43And so he is like writing right now a short film.
- 1:27:45And he's always like, oh, my word, you have to be in it.
- 1:27:47So it's like all and we've always talked about writing a show together.
- 1:27:51He's been a huge expander for me because I think he carries that like limitless, multi-passionate imagination.
- 1:27:57And also that patience that like this doesn't have to happen this year, like 10 years, 20 years, like thinking spaciously about enjoying the journey, which you invited me and us to as well.
- 1:28:09So I'm so excited for where this could go.
- 1:28:12And also I love the presence of the journey itself.
- 1:28:15So it's a very exciting time.
- 1:28:17And exactly so cosmically aligned that you were sent in this exact moment of.
- 1:28:23I love this for you because you're going into that improv acting with complete unattachment.
- 1:28:30You're really in the process of enjoying the journey.
- 1:28:32You love what it brings you when you go to these classes and.
- 1:28:36You also have, you know, other work that you're pouring into that you love that might be your main focus.
- 1:28:41But you're open to where that path can lead.
- 1:28:44And so nothing can go wrong, you know.
- 1:28:47Nothing can go wrong.
- 1:28:48Thank you so much.
- 1:28:50Oh, something I do want to ask you about with being a multi-passionate is and the clients you work with and this journey we're on is.
- 1:28:58When are we avoiding discomfort and the sort of downsides of facing something fully versus exploring a new curiosity?
- 1:29:08Like, do you find your clients are fleeing from, okay, this got uncomfortable, let me start something new?
- 1:29:13Or is that a misunderstanding?
- 1:29:14Is that an oversimplification?
- 1:29:16Elements of that.
- 1:29:19Elements of maybe not seeing something through.
- 1:29:22Right.
- 1:29:23And again, every business or creative project is different.
- 1:29:27So everything is going to take a different amount of time.
- 1:29:30Right.
- 1:29:31But there definitely might be that, oh, this thing hasn't succeeded.
- 1:29:34So I'm going to jump onto the other thing and try it out.
- 1:29:36But
- 1:29:38A lot of things take a while before you see the results, whether it's the money or the audience or, you know, the visibility.
- 1:29:48Like success doesn't happen overnight.
- 1:29:51And so there can be the tendency to, if you are multi-passionate, to jump things quite quickly before you've given things the space and time.
- 1:30:02To naturally grow.
- 1:30:04Yeah.
- 1:30:05And so I do invite people to be like, let's take a minute.
- 1:30:08Right.
- 1:30:09I'm not saying you can't do all of these beautiful things.
- 1:30:11You absolutely can.
- 1:30:14But why is it that you're jumping this right now?
- 1:30:17Like, is it because you, is it really because you don't want to do it anymore?
- 1:30:20Or is it because there's something else going on there?
- 1:30:23Yeah.
- 1:30:23Yeah.
- 1:30:24Yeah.
- 1:30:26So, so, so is true.
- 1:30:27It's, uh, it's such a way of like, it's deep inner work that you're helping people do.
- 1:30:32It really is.
- 1:30:33Um, because when we're holding multiple things and multiple desires, we are grappling with.
- 1:30:44our own inner processes um am i good enough at this am i being what does the world think of this like oh is it doing well oh who how do people feel about it like are they judging me for this
- 1:31:02I'm embarrassed because it didn't get received very well and like it's so much inner work and so much like holding yourself with so much love and standing for what you want to do and believing in your art your craft your work before the world believing in your art and your work before the world does
- 1:31:23Oh, yes.
- 1:31:24Gorgeous.
- 1:31:25So, so, so true and potent and powerful.
- 1:31:28And also what you said about holding multiple desires.
- 1:31:30That was so like part of me like lit up.
- 1:31:32That is so such a like incredible way to say it because it is that wanting seeing so much as possible and wanting this and wanting this and also wanting an incredible love and relationship and.
- 1:31:42And all of these things feeding each other.
- 1:31:46Do you feel like your clients face desire blocks as well?
- 1:31:50Like how does it tie into also how we relate to our sensual energy and sexual energy?
- 1:31:57Because I often find when people are...
- 1:31:59I find that if I feel disconnected from a dream, being in touch with like pleasure and like what is turning me on can open that up and be like, oh my word, no, I know what I want.
- 1:32:08It's that.
- 1:32:09Really, really powerful.
- 1:32:10I think some of...
- 1:32:11the reasons why I even trained to be a sex and relationships coach was first of all, because I went on a big, my own big inner process around sexuality and relationships and really loved all of that work.
- 1:32:25And so wanted to be able to hold clients through that, but as well as explicitly sexuality and relationships work, I also knew, wow, when someone's really connected and,
- 1:32:37to their sexuality, their sensuality, that like, in a power, they do have more connection to their desires.
- 1:32:45They do have more connection to this turn on for life.
- 1:32:50Yes.
- 1:32:50For like, I want my life to feel alive.
- 1:32:54I want my life to feel pleasure filled.
- 1:32:57Like I get to have this in my creations and in my work, as well as in my intimate relationships.
- 1:33:04Like it gets to be
- 1:33:06in all of my life so yeah absolutely you know it's that permission giving as well really yeah it really is that permission that we get to live a life where we do the things we love like we're allowed we're allowed to desire it we're allowed to want it like it's okay yes
- 1:33:30how would you it's so beautiful because I wanted to circle back to permission how would you invite someone so they're like okay I get it I need to give myself permission how do I do that so how would you invite someone who gets to give themselves permission to want more to desire more to hold more to tend to their multiple passions how would you invite them to do so yeah
- 1:33:50Probably by looking at some of the blocks first.
- 1:33:56What stories and beliefs do you have around doing multiple things?
- 1:34:02You know, probably there are some limiting beliefs around it's not possible to make money doing multiple things or I'll be judged if I don't have a conventional path of my work or whatever the limiting beliefs might be.
- 1:34:20There are probably quite a few swimming around that are making them feel like they can't really fully own it and give themselves permission.
- 1:34:29So, yeah, probably some deep belief work.
- 1:34:33Where do those beliefs come from?
- 1:34:35Where did they play out in your childhood?
- 1:34:37Like how did they make you feel then?
- 1:34:40Where do they live in your body now?
- 1:34:43How have you ever since then been protecting yourself from the judgment, the pain, from not being accepted?
- 1:34:53Because a lot of the time when we don't give ourselves permission, it's because we want to be accepted and seen and loved and valued by others.
- 1:35:04Right.
- 1:35:04And so doing that deep inner work of unraveling the blocks to that so that you can now in your adult body and your adult self share the things that you want to share and know that it's not going to inhibit you from being loved and accepted and seen.
- 1:35:25You have such a beautiful way of bringing this wisdom into words.
- 1:35:28I'm so grateful to receive it.
- 1:35:30Wow.
- 1:35:34And it's so wonderful how it's and profound how it's all connected, like how we receive love is also going to be how we allow ourselves to dream.
- 1:35:40And it's wonderful.
- 1:35:42Yeah, because.
- 1:35:45Just to kind of for us to look at it a little deeper, the person that is.
- 1:35:54the singer and the writer and the photographer and the yoga teacher, whatever it is that they do.
- 1:35:59But it's like, oh, I should really pick one thing.
- 1:36:02Like, then just like sit with that.
- 1:36:04Like, what are you, what are you scared of?
- 1:36:08Oh, that I'm going to be.
- 1:36:10judge that, like, people aren't going to get me.
- 1:36:14Okay, well, what else?
- 1:36:17Is there anything else there?
- 1:36:19Oh, that, like, that I won't fit in, that I don't really belong anywhere?
- 1:36:23Like, oh, is there anything else?
- 1:36:25Like, yeah, I just...
- 1:36:27You know, I'm no one will accept me.
- 1:36:30I'll be all alone, you know.
- 1:36:32And so there's often a deeper fear under the fear that we can see.
- 1:36:40You know, the fear that we can see might be being like multi-passionate looks complicated, like I don't have the time or it's hard to pick one thing.
- 1:36:48But like go deeper and there is probably a deeper fear underneath.
- 1:36:50I felt deeply the expression you went through.
- 1:36:52I feel like people are going to resonate with that so deeply because what you just said about and fearing being alone.
- 1:36:58It's so true.
- 1:36:58I think doing that deep exploration, whether it's with someone who can guide you through it or with yourself is so powerful.
- 1:37:05We deserve to tap deeper into like what these stories are so we can be free from them.
- 1:37:10And therefore free each other from them because you are a walking permission slip for the person listening to us.
- 1:37:14It's like, I've wanted to be a DJ for yours.
- 1:37:17I'm going to go, you know, try and learn to DJ.
- 1:37:20Yeah.
- 1:37:20And that's really beautiful.
- 1:37:22So for you to know that every time you embrace what you really want to do, you're not just helping yourself, you're helping other people too.
- 1:37:30Because other people will see you owning who you are, owning what you want in this life.
- 1:37:36And they'll be like, OK, I'm inspired.
- 1:37:38I'm going to do this thing that I was a little scared to do.
- 1:37:40Hmm.
- 1:37:41So true.
- 1:37:43And sometimes we need to see something to believe it's possible.
- 1:37:46So in fact, often all the time.
- 1:37:47So when we see people who are out there, you know, manifesting in multiple dimensions of reality, like it's really empowering and it's very beautiful to watch and it makes us feel like it's possible for ourselves.
- 1:38:00And then we become that for others.
- 1:38:02So it's such a gift, whether it's in your community, whether it's online, wherever it is, it really does have
- 1:38:11what would you say to the person who is like working a nine-to-five a multi-passionate and therefore does face this feeling of there's just not enough time yeah first of all just to validate that it's not easy right and so like props to you for for giving it a go you know be kind to yourself you don't have the same amount of time as someone that isn't in a nine-to-five you know
- 1:38:39and sometimes it can be an absolute gift um i've worked with people for example people that are starting a business i've worked with people that have done it alongside nine to five i've also worked with people that have quit their job and have full day to do just their business it's interesting
- 1:39:03Actually, that's not always that helpful.
- 1:39:05Sometimes having too much time on your hands means you overthink stuff, means you spend way too much time creating the content, creating the art.
- 1:39:15Like you don't actually let the stuff to just flow through you because you're being critical.
- 1:39:18You're being a perfectionist.
- 1:39:21You're overthinking things.
- 1:39:23And sometimes having less time means you can be more productive with the time that you have.
- 1:39:29And so I know I'm not a mom yet.
- 1:39:32I've like having listened to some other entrepreneurs that say, since I became a mom, I'm so much more efficient with my business.
- 1:39:42I do the things that have to be done.
- 1:39:44Yeah.
- 1:39:45I do the things that actually move the needle forwards because I have limited time.
- 1:39:49So I make sure during that little half an hour when when she's sleeping, I don't waste time on tasks that don't do anything.
- 1:39:59I get the thing done that needs to get done.
- 1:40:03And so I think having a full time job can be really similar.
- 1:40:07You know, you don't have the whole day free.
- 1:40:09But what time do you have?
- 1:40:12Maybe you have a little half an hour in your lunch break to do something.
- 1:40:16Maybe you have an hour in the morning before you go to work or an hour in the evening.
- 1:40:21you could still get quite a bit done in that time.
- 1:40:23And actually you have a bit more structure as well, which can be really helpful.
- 1:40:29Sometimes having no structure at all can be quite disorientating.
- 1:40:33Absolutely.
- 1:40:34And then also you're creating from the energy of not needing something that that energy of like needing something to make money.
- 1:40:41Oh, I can't believe I didn't even touch on that.
- 1:40:43I can't believe I didn't.
- 1:40:44That's I should have mentioned that first.
- 1:40:48The difference is so dramatic.
- 1:40:51when you create from a sense of really to pay my rent with this like oh my god if this doesn't work like I don't know how I'm gonna live imagine how you're gonna create you're creating from such a level of scarcity and the process isn't going to be enjoyable you're going to be so stressed when you're working on it and
- 1:41:10It's going to feel so contracted.
- 1:41:12You're going to feel really resistant.
- 1:41:14Your best work probably isn't going to come through.
- 1:41:17If you've got that job that's paying your bills and that's helping you live the life that you're already living, everything that you create comes from this like overflow and abundance.
- 1:41:29It's because you want to do it.
- 1:41:30It's not because you have to do it.
- 1:41:32So I think there's actually a real and I feel like having a job can be is way too shamed in entrepreneurship, actually.
- 1:41:40Oh, you're not a real entrepreneur because you have a job like no, it can be a really powerful thing, actually, that can support you.
- 1:41:46to work on your creative pursuits without worrying about how you're going to live.
- 1:41:51Absolutely.
- 1:41:52And to allow yourself to create something with long term potential versus when you're in that scarcity, you're like, what's going to work now?
- 1:41:59I need this to work by next month, by this month, by this, you know, like I only have this much money, you know, versus like planting seeds that like could become this oak tree, but just needs like more time.
- 1:42:09um so yeah thank you for sharing that it's so it's so true and powerful and the scarcity energy versus the overflow energy is so powerful and um it is so fascinating that we think what we want is ultimate freedom but then that can be daunting af because you're like how do i structure this day you think you have the whole day and then it's like where did the time even go so yeah wow oh my goodness also it's quite funny people leave their nine to fives because they're like yeah i want freedom i'm gonna be an entrepreneur and
- 1:42:39I'm not as free as I thought I was going to be because I'm actually thinking about work more than I ever thought about work.
- 1:42:44I actually shut my laptop.
- 1:42:47I'm on holiday, but I'm still thinking about work.
- 1:42:49I'm still thinking about what I need to do.
- 1:42:50So I feel like you're less free in a way, you know?
- 1:42:54Tell me why I was literally sending emails at 10 p.m. yesterday and I was like my last app when I worked at nine to five at all was much it was in management consulting as well.
- 1:43:02So it was not 95, but when I worked in that job.
- 1:43:04I would have never, I was like, this is not my, why would I on a Sunday at 10 PM?
- 1:43:09Like, unless I had to, which didn't happen because weekends were like protected, which was good mostly.
- 1:43:15Um, but it's like, now that it's my own thing, I'm like my boundaries all over the, sometimes all over the place.
- 1:43:20And it's like, are you going to be a kind boss to yourself?
- 1:43:23You think yes.
- 1:43:24And then just see those, those worthiness and all the things.
- 1:43:27So, um, blocks.
- 1:43:29And so, yeah, thank you for, for that.
- 1:43:32Oh, wow.
- 1:43:32Wow.
- 1:43:33yeah we have to it takes like time to learn those boundaries and to know
- 1:43:42There will always be something more to do.
- 1:43:44When you work for yourself, there is always another task on the to do list.
- 1:43:48There are always more things to do.
- 1:43:49So you could work 24 hours a day and there'd be more things to do, you know.
- 1:43:54And so learning like what needs to get done, becoming really good at prioritization and like what is the important, what are the important tasks I actually have to do?
- 1:44:03What are the nice to have tasks?
- 1:44:06and what tasks come weight.
- 1:44:08Yeah, definitely.
- 1:44:10I love that.
- 1:44:11Yeah, and ask as multi-passionates, like asking, I often ask like the different crafts, like what are they asking of me?
- 1:44:17Like, how can I be supportive?
- 1:44:19Like, even as we're sitting here, the song is like, please like, like make me.
- 1:44:23It doesn't even matter what happens next.
- 1:44:25Oh, it's so cool.
- 1:44:27So it hasn't been made yet?
- 1:44:28No, like I have written it, but it hasn't been produced yet.
- 1:44:32It's hopefully going to happen in August.
- 1:44:34Like it hasn't been like studio recorded or anything.
- 1:44:37And then it's like, sometimes we think our craft wants a lot more from us than what it actually wants.
- 1:44:43Like maybe your writing just wants you to show up once, you know, for 15 minutes in the morning.
- 1:44:47And then it's like, oh my gosh, I feel so, you know, thank you for being here versus thinking we have to give this like perfect effort to everything.
- 1:44:55which is something I really struggle with, which is perfectionism.
- 1:44:57So, yeah, this is so amazing.
- 1:44:59I'm so glad that we get to tap into this.
- 1:45:02Wow.
- 1:45:04Is there anything you think that would be really of service for someone to hear that we haven't discussed when it comes to being a multi-passionate?
- 1:45:12Explored quite a few things.
- 1:45:15I think I've said it already, but I'll say it again.
- 1:45:19You don't have to monetize every passion.
- 1:45:21I think that's really important to know.
- 1:45:25especially for those of us that are quite naturally entrepreneurial and naturally something turns into work or business.
- 1:45:32Also to remember that you get to do some things just for you and your joy.
- 1:45:37And that's good enough to, you know, your success in a thing doesn't depend on how much money it's making or how much the world values it.
- 1:45:48Do you value it?
- 1:45:49Do you feel good doing it?
- 1:45:51Do you feel do you get joy doing it?
- 1:45:55Like that gets to be enough, too.
- 1:45:57You know, that's already success.
- 1:45:59And when you start to create from that space, from that space of I'm already successful because I'm sharing something I love, then the journey is going to feel much more pleasure filled.
- 1:46:10And then paradoxically, you'll probably reach the external success, you know.
- 1:46:16Yes.
- 1:46:18Oh, deep, deep invitations here.
- 1:46:20Not everything has to be monetized or make money.
- 1:46:23Following our joy will ultimately paradoxically lead to the success we are craving.
- 1:46:28And ultimately, that is what living is for is for this feeling of aliveness and meaning and fulfillment.
- 1:46:45Sometimes we can lose touch with and forget like what we love to do as a child.
- 1:46:49So what invitations would you give to us about like, I often find it's it's exploring passions I already had not like finding new passions.
- 1:46:58So, yeah, that's a really good one.
- 1:47:00Yeah.
- 1:47:01For people that come to me and they feel really disconnected from like, oh, what are my passions?
- 1:47:08What gives me joy?
- 1:47:09What should I do?
- 1:47:10I do love to invite them to ask questions.
- 1:47:13what did you like to do when you were a child?
- 1:47:16When you weren't focused on the outcome, when you weren't trying to make money from it, when you were doing it purely because it felt fun.
- 1:47:24And so exploring those, sometimes they might still resonate.
- 1:47:29Sometimes maybe they don't.
- 1:47:30They were just childhood things that no longer resonate now.
- 1:47:35Also love to invite people to ask,
- 1:47:38What if I had more unlimited time and also unlimited finances?
- 1:47:45What would I like to do with the time that I have?
- 1:47:47It's a really good question to sit with.
- 1:47:51If I...
- 1:47:53had constant stream of money coming in already live in the house that i want to live have the relationship that i want to want to have like all of that stuff is locked in solid and you've got unlimited time how would you spend it what activities would you like to do just because right just for your joy just for your fun and beginning to tune into those really help you connect to that sense of curiosity and intrigue without the outcome
- 1:48:21Hmm.
- 1:48:22Only if you feel cold.
- 1:48:23But do you do you know what your answer is?
- 1:48:25Oh, good question.
- 1:48:28It's funny.
- 1:48:29I think it would be more of what I'm doing now, because, for example, this I'm taking like three weeks off in August where I'm not going to go on a trip to a beach.
- 1:48:42I'm not going to sit on a tropical beach and I'm not leaving the country.
- 1:48:46I am not going to do any work.
- 1:48:48So I'm not coaching clients.
- 1:48:50I'm not teaching yoga.
- 1:48:52I just want to have time and space to go to dance classes, to practice DJing, to take yoga classes for myself, to do all of the things I love without it needing to be work.
- 1:49:03So I would probably if I had unlimited time and money pouring in, I would just do these things just for fun without needing to teach them or share them.
- 1:49:12Yeah, just just for me.
- 1:49:14Yes, you deserve it.
- 1:49:16Whoa, oh my word.
- 1:49:17It's so amazing that you've created a pocket for you to live that question, which so many people in their whole lifetime, like, well, you know what?
- 1:49:23Yeah, that's what that feels like.
- 1:49:25And that's such a gift and the life you've created for yourself like that that's possible is so beautiful.
- 1:49:30I love that actually, because I want like we get to all do that, you know.
- 1:49:36And of course, right now, I'm not able to do those things as much as I like, you know, because time is a time is a factor and I don't have unlimited time.
- 1:49:47But I do them as much as I can, you know, and I'm teaching them and sharing them with the world.
- 1:49:52Yeah.
- 1:49:55but we all get to find a version of that for ourselves.
- 1:50:00We all get to find a version of that for ourselves.
- 1:50:02Absolutely.
- 1:50:02A weekend, a day, a moment.
- 1:50:05Yes.
- 1:50:07So we're going to soon go to our closing ritual.
- 1:50:08But one thing that I find really fascinating that I want to just tap into is like teachers, because it's like there's so many people who have, who are like in this room with you, I'm sure, like dance teachers who've inspired you, yoga teachers who've inspired you.
- 1:50:24What do multi-personates need to know about finding teachers that really resonate with them?
- 1:50:28Beautiful thing is you get to have multiple teachers, you know?
- 1:50:33You get to have a teacher for each art and craft and skill.
- 1:50:37And so you're influenced by so many wonderful souls.
- 1:50:43And each teacher offers you something unique and different that you get to bring in.
- 1:50:50And so find teachers that you just resonate with, who you love to learn from, who you feel inspired by, who you take a class with them and you're like, oh, yeah, I want to do this more.
- 1:51:00Exactly.
- 1:51:01Yeah.
- 1:51:03I feel like that's part of also why a multi-passionate, that feeling that you're actually on an accelerated path is I think.
- 1:51:10you're so in touch with what resonates that you end up following the like finding and following the teachers that you're like, it's going to be her.
- 1:51:17It's going to be him, whether it's like a yoga teacher or a singing teacher, whatever you have access to, this could also be online.
- 1:51:23You know, you understand like, Oh, this podcast or this person, they're here to help me.
- 1:51:29I've had that with people where I'm like, Oh my word, this person is my virtual coach.
- 1:51:33Like you are my business coach or you are my whoever coach.
- 1:51:36So yeah.
- 1:51:37Thank you so, so much.
- 1:51:38We're going to go to our Soul Salon closing ritual, which is a few questions for you to answer in one or two sentences, just rapid fire what comes to you.
- 1:51:49And it's so exciting to be able to have you as part of this work and experience.
- 1:51:53It's such a gift.
- 1:51:53I'll say more at the end.
- 1:51:55But the first question is...
- 1:51:58We could heal the planet by.
- 1:52:00Each of us loving ourselves deeply and completely.
- 1:52:05A song that changed me forever is.
- 1:52:09Oh gosh, there's so many to pick from.
- 1:52:12Anything by Cleo Soul.
- 1:52:15Yeah.
- 1:52:16Know You Are Loved, maybe.
- 1:52:18Oh my gosh, I love Cleo Soul.
- 1:52:21I love how in her interview on Apple Music, she talks about how she sees herself as a channel.
- 1:52:26And she's just such a grounding and grounded artist.
- 1:52:28Oh, my word.
- 1:52:29Such a channel.
- 1:52:30She really is.
- 1:52:31She's such a channel.
- 1:52:32Oh, my gosh.
- 1:52:32Wow.
- 1:52:33And she's in she's from London, right?
- 1:52:34Yeah.
- 1:52:34Oh, yeah.
- 1:52:36OK, the next question is a book I would recommend to everyone.
- 1:52:40a return to love marianne williamson yeah yeah and it is that invitation back to the truth of who you've always been before the world told you who to be yes where we started yes into soul yes absolutely okay the next is a person i carry with me maybe my mom yeah yeah her support that she's always had for me yeah don't let anyone tell you that
- 1:53:06You can't do more than one thing.
- 1:53:14If there is one thing that you receive from this conversation, I hope that it could be.
- 1:53:18I hope that you know that you get to be all that you are, that you get to embrace all that you are and the world wants to see all that you are.
- 1:53:26And lastly, if my inner child walked through that door, I would say to her, keep dancing.
- 1:53:34Oh my goodness.
- 1:53:35And she did.
- 1:53:35Oh my word.
- 1:53:38Oh, thank you so much, Sabi.
- 1:53:40It's been so wonderful having you and just learning from you.
- 1:53:45I love how embodied and like expressed and expressive you are.
- 1:53:48And
- 1:53:48so clear that movement is something that you like channel your words through as well like I see you moving and you know really in your body and it's such a gift to witness to learn from you your wisdom the way that you are really holding such a like space for us as multi-passionates to feel so seen and like understood and you've really thought about this and felt it through your own experience and alchemized you know feeling out of place to finding a place for us to like a tree that
