- 0:05Speaker 1: Good morning, good morning, good morning, bright sunshine on a Thursday,
- 0:08Speaker 1: and you know that means car talk.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Good morning friends. We're glad you're here, thanks for joining
- 0:13Speaker 2: us again this morning. We've got Tulsa State Fair starting
- 0:17Speaker 2: today and busy weekend in Bartlesville. We have the Bartsville
- 0:23Speaker 2: Athletic Hall of Fame celebration is tomorrow night and the
- 0:26Speaker 2: Commission is it's the big event, and congratulations to them,
- 0:32Speaker 2: and congratulations to our good friend Bob Pomeroy who's being honored.
- 0:36Speaker 2: He's such a great guy and the Commission wouldn't exist
- 0:39Speaker 2: in this event it weren't for Bob, and he's been
- 0:43Speaker 2: a great friend and customer for a long time. Congratulations
- 0:46Speaker 2: Bob and all the other honorees. I know they've got
- 0:49Speaker 2: the nineteen eighty two women's swim team, Carol Green, Cassie
- 0:53Speaker 2: Considine and Sante and Lee Engston all getting into the
- 0:58Speaker 2: Hall of Fame.
- 0:59Speaker 3: So that is really eighty two is my year. So
- 1:01Speaker 3: they're they're relatively young people in a way.
- 1:06Speaker 4: My graduating class they are. And then there are kids Saturday.
- 1:12Speaker 2: There's another event coming up, a cool one that we
- 1:14Speaker 2: talked about a couple of months ago when we had
- 1:17Speaker 2: the folks from the Hopestone Cancer Support Center out, but
- 1:21Speaker 2: they've got their kids. Camp is this Saturday, and that'll
- 1:24Speaker 2: be from noon to two o'clock and just if you're
- 1:28Speaker 2: interested in that, it's a great it's a great opportunity
- 1:31Speaker 2: if cancer has touched your life or your family's lives
- 1:34Speaker 2: and maybe your children, you know, whether it's a child
- 1:38Speaker 2: with cancer or just somebody a brother, sisterly member, family member,
- 1:44Speaker 2: it's an opportunity to get together and have a great time.
- 1:47Speaker 2: And really it's a great support network. So reach out
- 1:50Speaker 2: to them if you're interested in that. It's again, it's Saturday,
- 1:53Speaker 2: and it is a great group. One of our the
- 1:56Speaker 2: two time winner of our anniversary event where we our
- 2:01Speaker 2: customers pick a charity to especially bless and Hopstone has
- 2:06Speaker 2: been two years years ogo congratulations to them and I
- 2:12Speaker 2: know they'll have a great event. And then one of
- 2:14Speaker 2: the are the oldest parties in Bartlesville since nineteen twenty seven,
- 2:20Speaker 2: can you believe it? And yeah, this is one that
- 2:22Speaker 2: this predates you a little bit a tad, but that's uh.
- 2:28Speaker 4: You know.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Frank Phillips used to host the Cowboys and Outlaws and oilmen, Bankers,
- 2:33Speaker 2: pry Car dealers too. But anyway, since nineteen twenty seven
- 2:38Speaker 2: Kalthys and Outlaws Reunion at Wooler Rocks Saturday night.
- 2:42Speaker 3: It's going to be perfect weather for that. Yeah, it's
- 2:44Speaker 3: just gonna be glorious.
- 2:46Speaker 4: Great night.
- 2:46Speaker 2: It is outside at the at the Lake Clyde Lake Venue,
- 2:51Speaker 2: beautiful ranch out there. If you haven't been to this party,
- 2:54Speaker 2: you need to go. It really is one of Bartlesville's
- 2:57Speaker 2: finest and around the dealership, it's been really big.
- 3:01Speaker 3: A lot of things going on, a Dungeon's family of
- 3:03Speaker 3: autos and uh.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Yeah, I know the we're getting ready for the big
- 3:07Speaker 2: transition next next month. This week Bob came up and
- 3:11Speaker 2: we we went into my grandfather's old office and started
- 3:15Speaker 2: the process of unpacking that that it's there's decades of stuff,
- 3:22Speaker 2: and uh, some of it's just garbage, as you would
- 3:27Speaker 2: you might a lost treasure.
- 3:31Speaker 3: It is lost treasure. It's it's like walking into a
- 3:34Speaker 3: time capsule.
- 3:35Speaker 2: And so I'm really kind of trying to do it
- 3:38Speaker 2: in processes. So I'm getting the junk out of the
- 3:42Speaker 2: way and and going to kind of unearth the good stuff.
- 3:45Speaker 2: And we're gonna keeping what we you know, make sense
- 3:49Speaker 2: and and there is son.
- 3:50Speaker 4: You know, decades of stuff.
- 3:52Speaker 3: We've you know, a lot of su letters, all kinds of.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Events in life and you know between and the issue
- 3:58Speaker 2: things with Ford Motor Company. My grandfather lots of Ford memorabilia,
- 4:04Speaker 2: everything from service manuals and sales brochures for from all
- 4:08Speaker 2: the decades from the twenties forward.
- 4:10Speaker 4: Uh, you know, so all kinds of really cool stuff.
- 4:14Speaker 2: And just you know everything you can imagine.
- 4:18Speaker 4: Yeah, it's.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Moved a beautiful grandfather clock into my office in Toyota.
- 4:26Speaker 2: It's a it's a replica of one made in the
- 4:29Speaker 2: eighteen hundreds in Boston and it was created by the
- 4:33Speaker 2: Henry Ford Museum in the middle of the last century.
- 4:36Speaker 2: My grandparents were there and bought bought the replica at
- 4:39Speaker 2: the museum and it's one of a few hundred that
- 4:42Speaker 2: were made there by the just for as a replica
- 4:46Speaker 2: for the Henry Ford Museum. So it's a cool, cool
- 4:48Speaker 2: grandfather clock. Got some great bronzes out of there. The
- 4:52Speaker 2: one one that I love the most is that Will
- 4:54Speaker 2: Rogers one where he's sitting and typing on his typewriter.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Gorgeous reporter in me loves that.
- 5:03Speaker 3: And you know, this is we should probably mention that
- 5:07Speaker 3: we've only got a couple of more weeks of operating
- 5:09Speaker 3: dungeons forward. It's true, and it people are taking advantage
- 5:15Speaker 3: of well.
- 5:16Speaker 2: We sent out that email this week to our customers
- 5:19Speaker 2: do seventeen thousand emails. And I tell you, I've had
- 5:23Speaker 2: for this a few times in my career in the
- 5:26Speaker 2: car business where I felt like overwhelmed with kind of
- 5:32Speaker 2: just humbled by what the customers are telling me. There
- 5:35Speaker 2: was a time in the two I don't know, probably
- 5:38Speaker 2: fifteen years ago now where we had people come to
- 5:40Speaker 2: the dealership and we did testimonials and.
- 5:43Speaker 4: We invited all our customers to come tell us what
- 5:46Speaker 4: they liked about us. It was amazing.
- 5:50Speaker 2: I mean, they didn't stop coming all day and it
- 5:54Speaker 2: was like one of the most humbling things to realize
- 5:59Speaker 2: what we were butting on there, the impact we'd had
- 6:03Speaker 2: on their lives. And you know, just in the last
- 6:06Speaker 2: twenty four hours, all the email responses I've had, you know,
- 6:10Speaker 2: lots of questions, but eighty ninety percent of them are
- 6:13Speaker 2: a lot of wishes and congratulations. We've had great customers
- 6:17Speaker 2: coming in buying cars they want to buy from us
- 6:20Speaker 2: before the end Forward and the beginning of the new Toyota.
- 6:24Speaker 2: So it is a it's a real transition time. And
- 6:27Speaker 2: you know, like you mentioned, we've we've been selling Forwards
- 6:30Speaker 2: in Oklahoma for ninety five years.
- 6:32Speaker 4: It's a it's a real legacy.
- 6:34Speaker 3: And you know, I should point out that that we've
- 6:37Speaker 3: been selling Toyota's longer than anybody else.
- 6:41Speaker 4: So it's not like we're brand new and the Toyota.
- 6:43Speaker 4: Toyota is not going anywhere now, had a long legacy
- 6:47Speaker 4: with that, and we're really proud.
- 6:49Speaker 2: And the closer we get to this, the more I
- 6:51Speaker 2: work with Bill and his team, I know they're going
- 6:53Speaker 2: to be really successful. People will be amazed at what
- 6:56Speaker 2: they do with the Ford Dealership and their plans for
- 6:58Speaker 2: the facility, neighbors good good neighbors, and our team's new
- 7:05Speaker 2: focus on the Toyota brand and those customers. You know,
- 7:08Speaker 2: That's another thing from the email I realized is so
- 7:11Speaker 2: many of our It kind of works both ways.
- 7:13Speaker 4: The Forward people are get the.
- 7:17Speaker 2: Vision we have and what the a Bill they understand
- 7:20Speaker 2: and and but the Toyota people love that we're sticking.
- 7:26Speaker 4: As well as any the quality of that product.
- 7:28Speaker 2: I you know, not and I don't know I'm not
- 7:30Speaker 2: disparaging Ford's product at all, but that, but Toyota people
- 7:33Speaker 2: are so loyal and and you know, they just buy
- 7:36Speaker 2: them again and again.
- 7:37Speaker 4: We had the perfect example.
- 7:42Speaker 3: I went from being a loyal Ford customer to being
- 7:45Speaker 3: a super loyal Toyota customer.
- 7:48Speaker 2: And our good friend Marsha was in yesterday. We had
- 7:50Speaker 2: a birthday party four.
- 7:52Speaker 4: Out on the lot a few years ago and a
- 7:54Speaker 4: car show and she bought another camera. So this is
- 7:58Speaker 4: a birthright.
- 8:01Speaker 2: So lots of great memories there and the next few weeks,
- 8:04Speaker 2: I'm sure we'll.
- 8:05Speaker 4: Get to relive a lot of that.
- 8:07Speaker 2: You know, a lot of folks questions have been around
- 8:10Speaker 2: things like Tires for Life. I want to ye, yes,
- 8:16Speaker 2: it's it's evolved as a program from the beginning. But
- 8:19Speaker 2: Bill Knight will honor the Tires for Life program. We
- 8:21Speaker 2: worked it out with them where they'll they'll take care
- 8:23Speaker 2: of you if you prefer to come over and maintain
- 8:26Speaker 2: your vehicle with the Toyota side, no matter what brand
- 8:29Speaker 2: it is. We'll be happy to take care take care
- 8:31Speaker 2: of your maintenance there, and we can honor the Tires
- 8:33Speaker 2: for Life through Toyota also, So it's your choice. You know,
- 8:38Speaker 2: other questions people have had or have been around things
- 8:41Speaker 2: like warranties and you know who's going to be there
- 8:44Speaker 2: and stuff like that. And you know, the vast majority
- 8:47Speaker 2: of the people in the Ford store are going to
- 8:48Speaker 2: stay there. A lot of the sales team is going
- 8:50Speaker 2: to come over to Toyota. But Kaylee, Petrick, Patrick and
- 8:55Speaker 2: most of the service department.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Recognize you recognize your service staff very much.
- 9:01Speaker 4: So yeah, yeah, And.
- 9:03Speaker 2: With mister Knight, you'll get a dealer that's fully invested
- 9:06Speaker 2: in the mobile service business and has mobile service vans
- 9:10Speaker 2: at all his dealerships. So they'll be able to do
- 9:12Speaker 2: even more than we've been able to do. And that's
- 9:15Speaker 2: been a growing part of our business as we grew
- 9:18Speaker 2: up to about fifteen our business. Yeah, I think a
- 9:20Speaker 2: for a couple of months ago.
- 9:21Speaker 4: It was that high.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Yeah, and so really excited about that. And as wet
- 9:28Speaker 2: hening into Toyota too, you know, it's just seeing lots
- 9:31Speaker 2: of great stuff there. And you know you mentioned the
- 9:34Speaker 2: discounts we've got across the board right now.
- 9:37Speaker 4: I think you know this is with the lower interest
- 9:39Speaker 4: rates this last week.
- 9:41Speaker 2: And I right before I came in here today, I
- 9:44Speaker 2: was talking to Toyo and Financial Services, and they that
- 9:47Speaker 2: that interest rate drop is already baked into their standard rates,
- 9:51Speaker 2: so they made the adjustment already. So the rates are
- 9:55Speaker 2: starting and starting to moderate and should be getting lower,
- 10:00Speaker 2: more incentivized rates over the next few months. It's we
- 10:03Speaker 2: can see that dolemitories and in some brands have grown
- 10:07Speaker 2: to be pretty pretty dramatic. Uh you know, Toyota hasn't
- 10:10Speaker 2: had that issue. We still have a bit of a
- 10:14Speaker 2: higher demand than we have supply, but we're starting to
- 10:16Speaker 2: get really great product. Like when I left this morning,
- 10:19Speaker 2: there were two sequoias on the ground, Crown signia.
- 10:24Speaker 3: Uh.
- 10:24Speaker 2: You know, we've got rab fours, cameras, corollas, Uh, you know,
- 10:28Speaker 2: a lot of the great product you're looking for.
- 10:30Speaker 4: It's just not dozens of them sitting there.
- 10:32Speaker 2: But you know, frankly, we may never get back to
- 10:34Speaker 2: that point in the Toyota business.
- 10:36Speaker 4: It's uh, I know, uh, you know that.
- 10:39Speaker 2: That we can get anything you want. So it's just
- 10:41Speaker 2: a matter of of giving us a minute. With our
- 10:44Speaker 2: great team and the simple price program that we have,
- 10:48Speaker 2: we know we can save you time.
- 10:49Speaker 4: And money and get you exactly what you want.
- 10:51Speaker 3: That's uh, that's if we make it simple at Dungeons
- 10:54Speaker 3: Toyota and uh, you know you mentioned the signia, the
- 10:59Speaker 3: Crown signa Tom, You've got to come over and see this.
- 11:01Speaker 3: It's uh, I do have to see this. Yeah, it's
- 11:04Speaker 3: a new Toyota's new high end suv. It think of
- 11:09Speaker 3: it as uh, well the Crown, uh, which is a
- 11:13Speaker 3: really nice luxury car, uh with a little bit more space,
- 11:18Speaker 3: uh so that you can throw you know, a baseball
- 11:21Speaker 3: team or a load of about.
- 11:23Speaker 4: The entire team, well, you know a little league team
- 11:26Speaker 4: then yeah, throw them in the car, or a bunch
- 11:30Speaker 4: of groceries from Costco. Uh. Yeah, it's it's a good.
- 11:35Speaker 2: It also gives you that slightly higher entry level a
- 11:37Speaker 2: lot of people are looking for now where they you know,
- 11:39Speaker 2: it's sedans and maybe a little too low. The trucks
- 11:42Speaker 2: are a large, a little too people.
- 11:44Speaker 3: Perfect height, perfect wheelbase, nice smooth ride, great great power.
- 11:50Speaker 2: We've been we've been learning when you accelerate, it really
- 11:53Speaker 2: feels like it's a it's a big V eight engine,
- 11:56Speaker 2: but it's a it's a small very efficient charged engine,
- 12:01Speaker 2: hybrid turbo charging engine. Really great technology.
- 12:04Speaker 3: Again an example of what Toyota is doing in terms
- 12:09Speaker 3: of you know, really advanced engine technology, advanced hybrid technology.
- 12:17Speaker 3: Instead of diving both feet into electric, Toyota has realized
- 12:24Speaker 3: that there's kind of a stop gap, there's a middle road,
- 12:27Speaker 3: and the hybrids are wonderful. It's exactly like driving a
- 12:32Speaker 3: fully combustion engine and you.
- 12:34Speaker 2: Get that power and the feeling of that, even the
- 12:38Speaker 2: sound sometimes on some certain vehicles yep.
- 12:41Speaker 3: And yet you get this great, great gas mileage. I
- 12:44Speaker 3: think the crown itself is what about fifty miles to
- 12:48Speaker 3: the gallon out?
- 12:49Speaker 2: Yeah, really incredible, just blow your mind kind of stuff.
- 12:53Speaker 2: And you know, with our simple price, you know a
- 12:55Speaker 2: lot of people don't. We talk to people every day
- 12:58Speaker 2: who don't really understand what that means and basically changes simple.
- 13:02Speaker 2: That's a process that we go through. I do a
- 13:04Speaker 2: lot of it myself. Brother Bruce does some of the
- 13:07Speaker 2: used cars. But we go in and we analyze pricing
- 13:11Speaker 2: of all, you know, from all aspects, what the books say,
- 13:14Speaker 2: what the market says, what other dealers have vehicles priced at,
- 13:18Speaker 2: and we adjust to price our vehicles in the top
- 13:21Speaker 2: spectrum every day.
- 13:23Speaker 4: And you know, I try on I can go in.
- 13:25Speaker 2: For instance, to car gurus and do my pricing tool
- 13:28Speaker 2: and it shows me if.
- 13:30Speaker 4: I have any that have fallen out of.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Good or great pricing, and you know, and I reprice
- 13:36Speaker 2: them and put them into those categories. And we also
- 13:40Speaker 2: don't just look at those kinds of things. We look
- 13:42Speaker 2: at actual market data about vehicles. I can I have
- 13:45Speaker 2: this thing that can search for vehicles across the entire
- 13:52Speaker 2: industry essentially of vehicles advertised online through all the third
- 13:56Speaker 2: party sites, dealer sites, all that, and down to the
- 14:00Speaker 2: vehicle trim level, option packages, miles, any factor age. You
- 14:08Speaker 2: can look at history of the vehicle through car facts
- 14:11Speaker 2: and other tools. You know that you kind of put
- 14:14Speaker 2: build a prism of all that together and you understand
- 14:16Speaker 2: what you've got and usually try to price them in
- 14:19Speaker 2: the top three for any vehicle that's similar to ours.
- 14:24Speaker 2: With used cars, you know, that's it's debatable, you know,
- 14:26Speaker 2: because a twenty seventeen RAV four that's had a different
- 14:30Speaker 2: history been you know, a one owner vehicle that's been
- 14:33Speaker 2: owned and maintained, that done just its entire life with
- 14:36Speaker 2: with seventy thousand miles, for instance, versus a four owner
- 14:41Speaker 2: vehicle that's been you know, there's there's through a few
- 14:46Speaker 2: more transitions and we don't have the service history and
- 14:50Speaker 2: has a wreck on the car facts, you know that
- 14:52Speaker 2: vehicle is going to be worth a.
- 14:53Speaker 4: Lot les well.
- 14:54Speaker 3: And that's our preference really is to be involved in
- 15:00Speaker 3: whole lifetime of a vehicle. We love selling the Toyota,
- 15:03Speaker 3: maintaining it and then buying it back from you at
- 15:05Speaker 3: the end of its life.
- 15:07Speaker 4: Car they really do.
- 15:09Speaker 2: Especially those local, well maintained and you know those cars
- 15:13Speaker 2: that just stay around here the.
- 15:17Speaker 3: Yeah. Well, and another thing that we I'm pretty proud
- 15:21Speaker 3: of that we do is a lot of dealers have
- 15:26Speaker 3: fees that are baked in that go below the line.
- 15:30Speaker 3: You know, they're in the fine print. We have some fees,
- 15:35Speaker 3: as all dealers do, but our fees are reasonable and
- 15:39Speaker 3: everything is above the line. You can see it right
- 15:43Speaker 3: there in the price of the car. No hidden fees,
- 15:47Speaker 3: simple price.
- 15:48Speaker 2: If we add an accessory, we're going to tell you
- 15:50Speaker 2: about it up front, and things like uh. You know,
- 15:53Speaker 2: a lot of people talk about advantage programs or or
- 15:59Speaker 2: do you adjusted profit markups things like that, and you
- 16:04Speaker 2: know there's some of them that have as much as
- 16:07Speaker 2: fourteen ninety five added to the value of a Toyota
- 16:11Speaker 2: in Oklahoma plus a five hundred and forty nine dollars
- 16:16Speaker 2: doc fee. This is actually from a dealer's website.
- 16:20Speaker 3: So before you and so with us, you start your
- 16:23Speaker 3: two thousand dollars over the price of a car, and.
- 16:27Speaker 4: That's not particularly simple in my opinion, especially if you're
- 16:31Speaker 4: the guy paying for it.
- 16:32Speaker 2: Yeah, so we try to be upfront and work with
- 16:35Speaker 2: you straight up, just like you'd want to be worked with,
- 16:38Speaker 2: and like we work with all our friends and family
- 16:40Speaker 2: and all our great loyal customers. And so that's just
- 16:44Speaker 2: our approach and our great team of noncommissioned sales associates.
- 16:47Speaker 2: That's another thing is they're they're paid a salary and
- 16:52Speaker 2: production bonuses. So they we do, you know, the better
- 16:55Speaker 2: we do as a group and as a team, and
- 16:57Speaker 2: individually we are rewarded.
- 17:00Speaker 4: But they don't have to worry about how much money
- 17:02Speaker 4: we make selling you a car.
- 17:04Speaker 2: They're not trying to the salesman or the sales managers.
- 17:08Speaker 2: None of them have that that commission based thing where
- 17:12Speaker 2: it just kind of clouds decision making process in my opinion.
- 17:17Speaker 2: You know, I think a lot of people handle it
- 17:20Speaker 2: really well. Great salesmen have always done well under commission.
- 17:23Speaker 2: It's not that it's a bad thing necessarily, But on
- 17:25Speaker 2: the other hand, I've seen it be used improperly.
- 17:29Speaker 3: And the incentive for the salesperson that's on a commission
- 17:33Speaker 3: is to sell you a more expensive car.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Yes, we're one that there's more potential to make a
- 17:38Speaker 2: profit on. You know, a lot of times they might
- 17:40Speaker 2: try to move you to a used car versus a
- 17:42Speaker 2: new car. There's a thing called mini's which means basically
- 17:48Speaker 2: there's no profit in the deal, so we're going to
- 17:50Speaker 2: give you a flat fee, and usually those are pretty low,
- 17:54Speaker 2: and so salesmen try to avoid those vehicles. And then
- 17:57Speaker 2: so the sales and that old culture. Then you'd give
- 18:01Speaker 2: them a spiff on that car and say well, i'll
- 18:03Speaker 2: give you, I'll sell you, give you a thousand bucks
- 18:05Speaker 2: if you'll sell that car, and then everybody starts trying
- 18:08Speaker 2: to sell that car in which they weren't trying to
- 18:11Speaker 2: sell the week before.
- 18:13Speaker 3: We're really taking the game, taking the game of gamification
- 18:17Speaker 3: out of selling cars.
- 18:19Speaker 2: Still there, it's just a little bit different game where
- 18:24Speaker 2: our team is incentivized to train and learn about the
- 18:27Speaker 2: Toyota product and to take care of their customers and
- 18:30Speaker 2: be and get a highest customer.
- 18:31Speaker 4: Satisfaction, ratings or reviews.
- 18:33Speaker 3: That's a little bit better than a little bit different
- 18:35Speaker 3: than incentivized to because of what money off of you.
- 18:40Speaker 4: As possible, I.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Can make a customer how or I can make a
- 18:42Speaker 1: customer for life.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Is what it's all about, is you know, after ninety
- 18:47Speaker 2: five years in the car business, we realize how important
- 18:50Speaker 2: the legacy is. And as I've said before, we're not
- 18:53Speaker 2: looking to sell cars all over.
- 18:54Speaker 4: The world or be the biggest.
- 18:56Speaker 2: And buy dealerships all over the place. We really want
- 18:59Speaker 2: to take care of our customers, be local business, you know,
- 19:03Speaker 2: like and you know, be here for our community.
- 19:06Speaker 4: Well.
- 19:07Speaker 3: And we are one of only eighteen Toyota dealers in
- 19:10Speaker 3: the state of Oklahoma. We're the oldest, and I think, yeah,
- 19:18Speaker 3: I'm proud of the fact that we're a Toyota dealer,
- 19:22Speaker 3: and it's especially.
- 19:24Speaker 4: One of the smaller ones.
- 19:25Speaker 2: It's a it's a good thing that allows us to
- 19:27Speaker 2: really be personal with our customers and treat them the best.
- 19:30Speaker 4: I know that.
- 19:30Speaker 2: I know that that's our reputation in the Toyota dealer market,
- 19:34Speaker 2: and I hear that from from people who.
- 19:38Speaker 4: Visit all the dealers all the time.
- 19:40Speaker 2: How our our dealership really is different and that our
- 19:43Speaker 2: people are what make that difference.
- 19:44Speaker 4: It's a culture. It's a culture thing. Yep.
- 19:48Speaker 2: So anyway, we're excited to be entering this phase. And
- 19:53Speaker 2: we've got a big weekend coming up. As I said, everybody,
- 19:56Speaker 2: get ready for lots of fun stuff to do. It's
- 19:58Speaker 2: fall and Bartlesville. There's going to be plenty of stuff
- 20:02Speaker 2: to do. And so here we go again.
- 20:05Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, as wrap your agents, let's go.
- 20:10Speaker 3: Well, you know it being fall, Brad, we probably should
- 20:13Speaker 3: mention that we have some fall specials on service. If
- 20:18Speaker 3: you go to dungeons Toyota dot com, you'll be able
- 20:21Speaker 3: to dial up our service coupons.
- 20:24Speaker 4: We have a variable coupon.
- 20:25Speaker 3: That takes if you spend I think it's up to
- 20:29Speaker 3: one hundred dollars with us, we take ten dollars off.
- 20:32Speaker 3: If you spend up to two hundred dollars with us,
- 20:35Speaker 3: you take twenty off. So we've got that, and then
- 20:41Speaker 3: Toyota's got a tire special that's about to roll out
- 20:46Speaker 3: here at the beginning of October. It's going to be
- 20:48Speaker 3: buy three, get one free. It's a great, great promotion.
- 20:52Speaker 3: It really is here and that's available to everybody. You
- 20:56Speaker 3: don't have to be a Toyota owner. We do selling
- 21:00Speaker 3: service control. We had tires role and we're selling service
- 21:04Speaker 3: parts and maintenance for all types of vehicles.
- 21:08Speaker 2: And in addition, you know, one of the other questions
- 21:10Speaker 2: people have been asking is about the body shop.
- 21:13Speaker 4: Our body shop is actually going to stay with us.
- 21:15Speaker 2: And you know, this wasn't necessarily pertinent to most the consumer,
- 21:21Speaker 2: but it's been a part of the Ford financial statement.
- 21:24Speaker 4: But we're going to keep it and move.
- 21:25Speaker 2: It to the Toyota side, So it's still going to
- 21:28Speaker 2: be the Dungeons body shop. And our great team there,
- 21:31Speaker 2: which is some of our longest term employees are in
- 21:33Speaker 2: the body shop and always having the most skilled.
- 21:38Speaker 3: Technology are I was over there yesterday watching them in
- 21:42Speaker 3: the pink booth and yeah, it is space age technology.
- 21:45Speaker 4: It's really amazing what they can do.
- 21:47Speaker 2: And on the used car side, we've got a lot
- 21:50Speaker 2: of other great deals. I mentioned how we simple price,
- 21:52Speaker 2: but you know what that leads to is things like
- 21:54Speaker 2: we've got a twenty two Ram fifteen hundred that's eleven
- 21:58Speaker 2: thousand and five hundred dollars below JD Power retail. Can
- 22:02Speaker 2: you believe that dungeonsty dot com. Here's a twenty twenty
- 22:06Speaker 2: accurate TLX. It's thirty six hundred dollars below market and
- 22:10Speaker 2: twenty six hundred below retail. I didn't mention the RAM
- 22:14Speaker 2: was actually ninety eight one hundred dollars below market, So
- 22:17Speaker 2: that means the average vehicle like it in the market
- 22:20Speaker 2: is nearly ten thousand dollars more than that vehicle at Dungeons.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Other stuff, we've been talking a lot about our used
- 22:28Speaker 2: toyotas a lot of used to a couple of twenty
- 22:31Speaker 2: three Tacomas, a TRD off road two wheel drive, it's
- 22:36Speaker 2: almost two thousand dollars below retail. We've got a four
- 22:40Speaker 2: wheel drive SR five with just thirty four thousand miles.
- 22:44Speaker 2: It's about thirty one hundred dollars below retail. We've got
- 22:47Speaker 2: another small pickup, the Ford Ranger, twenty two Ford Ranger.
- 22:51Speaker 2: It's sixty seven hundred dollars below retail. So it just
- 22:55Speaker 2: goes on and on, all priced great. Here's one of
- 22:58Speaker 2: twenty twenty Ford Expedition eleven thousand, three hundred below retail.
- 23:03Speaker 2: Twenty two Ford Mustang beautiful little Mustard only eleven thousand,
- 23:08Speaker 2: five hundred miles.
- 23:09Speaker 4: They're sixty one dollars below retail.
- 23:12Speaker 3: Someone is going to drive away happy in that Mustang
- 23:15Speaker 3: we also just purchased.
- 23:17Speaker 2: Sometimes I mentioned our love of the great local Toyotas.
- 23:20Speaker 2: We sometimes we have to supplement them, but we we're
- 23:23Speaker 2: working with our suppliers, especially with Enterprise Rental, to get
- 23:28Speaker 2: some of their best vehicles. We don't buy typically a
- 23:31Speaker 2: lot of rental cars, but they have some that are
- 23:34Speaker 2: pretty much pretty nice, and we've been working to buy
- 23:39Speaker 2: some of those and be able to get some really
- 23:41Speaker 2: great rab Force Highlanders, camera stuff like that that are
- 23:45Speaker 2: really hard to get. So if you're looking for a
- 23:47Speaker 2: used Toyota, be sure to look at our website at
- 23:50Speaker 2: there are great values.
- 23:53Speaker 4: And that website would be dungeus Toyota dot com. There
- 23:55Speaker 4: you go, and on the new car site it's similar.
- 23:59Speaker 4: We've got our edges right now. They're all ninety nine
- 24:03Speaker 4: dollars one thousand off. That includes our discount plus the
- 24:07Speaker 4: ford and sentence.
- 24:08Speaker 3: It's close close to twenty five percent off of a vehicle.
- 24:12Speaker 3: It's amazing, brand new vehicle, it's amazing and it just
- 24:16Speaker 3: kinds of great little cars. The edge edges a great
- 24:19Speaker 3: thing suv, mid size suv. Great, great vehicle.
- 24:24Speaker 2: We've got some other things like a Toyota Tundra, a
- 24:29Speaker 2: little two wheel drive Tundra. Actually what I've been driving
- 24:32Speaker 2: right now. It's we've got a price online as low
- 24:36Speaker 2: as we can according to Toyota rules, we'll sell it
- 24:40Speaker 2: for less.
- 24:42Speaker 4: Come in.
- 24:46Speaker 2: Toyto does have a rule about pricing your vehicles below
- 24:50Speaker 2: voice where we're not allowed to online. It's you know,
- 24:53Speaker 2: it keeps us dealers from playing too many of these
- 24:56Speaker 2: games that make it not so simple.
- 24:59Speaker 4: Uh, we've seen that.
- 25:00Speaker 2: I got a letter from the state of Oklahoma this
- 25:03Speaker 2: week about dealers who are showing huge discounts up to
- 25:07Speaker 2: fifteen or twenty thousand dollars off. And what that is, folks,
- 25:11Speaker 2: is off in a conversion vehicle. So they'll they'll get
- 25:14Speaker 2: a Black Widow or one of these nice conversions. They'll
- 25:18Speaker 2: mark it way up and then bring it mark it
- 25:21Speaker 2: way down.
- 25:21Speaker 4: So again, lungs, it is marked up once way high.
- 25:25Speaker 2: That the law is that your discount must be to
- 25:31Speaker 2: the bottom line MSRP that on that vehicle, regardless of
- 25:35Speaker 2: all this other stuff you're having going on.
- 25:38Speaker 4: So you know, you've got to be careful they warned them.
- 25:41Speaker 2: We'll see if they ever enforce that really, but there's
- 25:47Speaker 2: just watch out. There's lots of issue games out there.
- 25:49Speaker 2: And if you're wanting a place that you know isn't
- 25:52Speaker 2: going to play games with you, be sure to come
- 25:54Speaker 2: see us at DUNGEUS or hit our website at dungeus
- 25:58Speaker 2: choice dot com.
- 25:59Speaker 1: Been here today, be here tomorrow, and it's not going
- 26:02Speaker 1: to be like all these other things. But my goodness,
- 26:06Speaker 1: the Toyota name and the Dungeons name together and tell
- 26:09Speaker 1: you what, that's a that's a long time run.
- 26:12Speaker 4: It goes all the way back to nineteen sixty eight.
- 26:15Speaker 2: Yeah, there was a little bit of a Toyota dealership
- 26:20Speaker 2: before my grandfather bought it on the west side of
- 26:22Speaker 2: town over by Murphy and I think like a lawnmower
- 26:26Speaker 2: repair place or something. Had like two cars. Yes, and
- 26:30Speaker 2: it was just getting started in America. And it actually
- 26:34Speaker 2: pre dates our regional supplier, Gulf Stage TODT, of which
- 26:37Speaker 2: we're one of the handful of wield their oldest dealers
- 26:40Speaker 2: in the region. Now look at this history, and you
- 26:43Speaker 2: know that's that's another thing about Toyota. It's just that
- 26:46Speaker 2: legacy of the relationship we've had with them, the people
- 26:49Speaker 2: that visit us from Toyota. I've known the service rep
- 26:53Speaker 2: for almost twenty five years. Now here used to be
- 26:55Speaker 2: our sales rep. And he's been visiting our store for
- 26:59Speaker 2: twenty five years. Is he knows us, He he knows
- 27:02Speaker 2: what he's doing. Hold our sales rep is similarly qualified.
- 27:07Speaker 2: Guy used to be a Ford dealer up in Kansas,
- 27:09Speaker 2: so he knows a lot about the business.
- 27:11Speaker 4: And and you know, these guys.
- 27:13Speaker 2: Are great support and so you know, we're really you know,
- 27:16Speaker 2: that long term partnership we have with Toyota is another
- 27:19Speaker 2: one of those reasons why we've made the very tough
- 27:22Speaker 2: decision to sell the Ford store and stick with Toyota
- 27:25Speaker 2: and keep right.
- 27:27Speaker 4: On going, continuing with new history. I like that. That's right.
- 27:30Speaker 4: Let's make some new history. That is good.
- 27:32Speaker 2: That's maybe that's what we should do instead of a
- 27:35Speaker 2: simpler than ever. Maybe it's something about making new history.
- 27:40Speaker 3: We're going to get a commission on this. Yeah, we're
- 27:48Speaker 3: wrapping up.
- 27:48Speaker 4: I think we're getting close. So where can where can
- 27:52Speaker 4: people find us? Spread?
- 27:53Speaker 2: Well at nineteen eleven Southeast Washington Boulevard.
- 27:57Speaker 4: They're making and Ford is right.
- 27:59Speaker 2: Next door and nineteen oh one Southeast Washington Boulevard, and
- 28:03Speaker 2: I'll be out there walking back and forth between the
- 28:05Speaker 2: two stores carrying bronzes from.
- 28:07Speaker 4: The old You see a guy who kind of stooped over,
- 28:12Speaker 4: carry that kind of see me.
- 28:15Speaker 2: If you want to talk about it all that, or
- 28:17Speaker 2: just have a cookie or some popcorn, come see us
- 28:20Speaker 2: out of Dungeons.
- 28:21Speaker 3: Dungeons tweetled dungeus Ford dungeus choice dot com.

- 28:27Speaker 1: having you on board here today with our car talk
