- 0:12Speaker 1: Cane Studio.
- 0:36Speaker 3: One second.
- 0:49Speaker 4: Hour number two of OTV. Jake Flynn, Alondra, Tay-Tay all

- 0:55Speaker 4: brought to you by Community Steel. Communitysteelco.com. Buildings, sheetings, components
- 1:00Speaker 4: in Gonzales.com. Louisiana community steel co.com. All right, Matthew.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Hey, what's up?
- 1:09Speaker 4: Uh, today we are going to film another episode of
- 1:13Speaker 4: eye in the sky and we'll do it after the show.
- 1:16Speaker 4: And we'll kind of put a bow on the LSU
- 1:19Speaker 4: Ole Miss game before we fully move on to LSU
- 1:22Speaker 4: and Texas A & M. And you've got a couple
- 1:26Speaker 4: of clips I've heard.
- 1:27Speaker 2: I mean, I know.
- 1:30Speaker 5: Well, I got her like 35.
- 1:31Speaker 4: Her 35, which I ain't got time for 35.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, we do. Oh, you got time. You do.
- 1:37Speaker 2: And you. Yeah. Yep.
- 1:40Speaker 5: Soldier boy.
- 1:42Speaker 4: Oh, I got to show you a video. Something funny
- 1:45Speaker 4: about that same song.
- 1:47Speaker 2: What's up?
- 1:48Speaker 4: I'm going to throw it to you. You can give
- 1:50Speaker 4: a little preview of what we're going to do a
- 1:52Speaker 4: little bit later on with the eye in the sky
- 1:54Speaker 4: on YouTube.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Yeah, so, you know, a lot's been said. We talked
- 1:58Speaker 2: about the lane in hour one. We kind of, we
- 2:00Speaker 2: showed you or we played Lane's press conference yesterday. We're
- 2:04Speaker 2: talking about Sam Levin play. We're going to talk a
- 2:06Speaker 2: lot about quarterback here throughout the football season.
- 2:08Speaker 4: Sorry about it.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Quarterback's most important position in all of sports around the world.
- 2:14Speaker 2: The quarterback's all about the quarterback always. And certainly LSU
- 2:17Speaker 2: has a talented one, but has to play better. And
- 2:20Speaker 2: I think he would be the first person to raise
- 2:22Speaker 2: a hand up in the air, pat the chest and say,
- 2:23Speaker 2: I got to be better. That's how good quarterbacks are.
- 2:26Speaker 2: You've got to take the accountability. You can't pass off
- 2:30Speaker 2: the blame to anybody. You've got to say you've got
- 2:32Speaker 2: to get better. And I think Sam understands that. He's
- 2:34Speaker 2: got all the ability in the world. He's got the athleticism.
- 2:36Speaker 2: He's got the heart. I mean, we see him diving
- 2:38Speaker 2: in the game, doing John Elway sideways flips in the air,
- 2:42Speaker 2: like putting it all out there. But he's got to
- 2:45Speaker 2: learn to play the quarterback position better. He's got to
- 2:48Speaker 2: learn how to slow down. And a lot of that
- 2:51Speaker 2: is going to sound simple. And it's going to sound
- 2:55Speaker 2: really easy to do and potentially look easy to do,
- 2:58Speaker 2: but it's very hard to do. When I say you've
- 3:00Speaker 2: got to fix your footwork, that's all well and good.
- 3:03Speaker 2: But it has to become second nature to you. You've
- 3:07Speaker 2: got to be able to do it in your sleep.
- 3:08Speaker 2: You have to be able to rep it so many
- 3:11Speaker 2: times the correct way that it just comes natural. Muscle memory.
- 3:17Speaker 2: And when you get into a game, especially a big
- 3:19Speaker 2: game when you're in Tiger Stadium, when you're playing against
- 3:22Speaker 2: Ole Miss and there's all the buildup to it, Things
- 3:25Speaker 2: move really fast. Yeah. There's a lot of pressure. There's
- 3:28Speaker 2: a lot of excitement. Your energy's up. You've listened to
- 3:31Speaker 2: Creed right before the game. Got the juices flowing maybe
- 3:35Speaker 2: a little bit too much.
- 3:36Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:37Speaker 2: And you play fast. An athletic guy like that, a
- 3:39Speaker 2: guy that plays the position like a linebacker does, like
- 3:42Speaker 2: Sam Leavitt does, and I mean that in a very
- 3:43Speaker 2: good way, he has to learn to slow down. He's
- 3:49Speaker 2: got to learn to take a breath. Maybe listen to
- 3:50Speaker 2: a little classical music before the game. Maybe something like that.
- 3:53Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:55Speaker 2: A little woosah type because he is fast and he
- 3:59Speaker 2: is athletic. You don't have to play like your mind
- 4:02Speaker 2: has to be slow. Your body fast. Right. And he's
- 4:06Speaker 2: got to slow everything down. I'm going to show you
- 4:07Speaker 2: a clip. And, you know, Lane talked about yesterday how
- 4:10Speaker 2: the pressure got to him. And it's tough to be
- 4:12Speaker 2: confident and confidence is fragile when protection issues are happening
- 4:17Speaker 2: and you and blah, blah, blah. And there's a lot
- 4:19Speaker 2: to be made without accuracy. Well, Taylor, go ahead and
- 4:23Speaker 2: pull up my screen real quick. This is first quarter.
- 4:26Speaker 2: 13 minutes, 25 seconds left in the first quarter. So
- 4:30Speaker 2: pretty early on.
- 4:31Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:31Speaker 2: So we're going to go ahead and play this clip
- 4:33Speaker 2: real fast for you. And I'm just going to show
- 4:35Speaker 2: you a little bit about what I'm talking about slowing down.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Plays are there to be made. He just has to
- 4:40Speaker 2: slow down a little bit. We're going to motion to
- 4:41Speaker 2: a two by two step. We got a little stack
- 4:43Speaker 2: here to the bottom. They're going to pressure one guy.
- 4:45Speaker 2: That's okay. We got a man to protect him.
- 4:47Speaker 4: It's fine.
- 4:48Speaker 2: He gets, looks like we got a breakdown of protection
- 4:50Speaker 2: right there, right? Oh my goodness, Sam, we got a scramble. Well,
- 4:55Speaker 2: what we're going to have here is this is a,
- 4:57Speaker 2: I'm going to draw this route up for you real quick.
- 5:00Speaker 2: And he's going to run an out route. Okay. He's
- 5:03Speaker 2: going to run a deep cross or over route. He's
- 5:06Speaker 2: going to run a, what I would call dig route.
- 5:07Speaker 2: I think he either runs a go or post. I
- 5:09Speaker 2: can't remember. So when you're looking at this play, you
- 5:13Speaker 2: are going to be going one.
- 5:14Speaker 6: Okay.
- 5:16Speaker 2: To two.
- 5:18Speaker 4: One being the out. The three.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Yeah, one being the out route. Two being the deep over.
- 5:21Speaker 2: So we're going to look one. So our first hitch
- 5:24Speaker 2: is going to be number one. Second hitch to number
- 5:26Speaker 2: two on the deep cross. Then our third hitch, which
- 5:29Speaker 2: our number three read, is going to be the dig backside.
- 5:32Speaker 2: So this is a true progression type of play. Now,
- 5:36Speaker 2: you could call it a progression with an option. So
- 5:38Speaker 2: if you get quarters or some side of, like nobody
- 5:42Speaker 2: in the middle of the field, you could look to
- 5:43Speaker 2: the deep post. But that's a big-time alert versus a
- 5:47Speaker 2: very specific coverage. So this is a progression that you're
- 5:50Speaker 2: going to see. And so we get the scramble here.
- 5:53Speaker 2: So we don't get it. He has to run around,
- 5:55Speaker 2: and he gets batted down. He could have completed. But
- 5:57Speaker 2: let's look at this from the backside. So we got
- 6:01Speaker 2: six guys to block in there. So we're going to
- 6:03Speaker 2: go five down in the mic. They're going to work.
- 6:06Speaker 2: The offensive line is going to work to 12 right here.
- 6:08Speaker 4: Okay.
- 6:10Speaker 2: And the other guy comes. Okay, great. Got Dylan Jones there.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Really good protection. I want you to watch Sam's eyes, though.
- 6:16Speaker 2: We got a play-action fake. He should go big three
- 6:19Speaker 2: right here. So play-action fake with a three-step drop. He
- 6:23Speaker 2: goes one with a little real quick shuffle right there.
- 6:26Speaker 2: You see that? So he goes a quick shuffle. He
- 6:27Speaker 2: doesn't do a full drop. And so he's looking at
- 6:30Speaker 2: the out route. He skims past the deep cross, who,
- 6:34Speaker 2: as you can see, you can see his stripe right here.
- 6:37Speaker 2: You see the stripe? So stripes looking down right here.
- 6:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:42Speaker 2: Tradez isn't even looking. He is not to the point
- 6:44Speaker 2: where he needs to be getting the ball. So he's
- 6:45Speaker 2: not even looking. You got the backside dig. Who's number three.
- 6:49Speaker 2: He hadn't even made his break yet.
- 6:50Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:51Speaker 2: But Sam has already scanned to that side and looked,
- 6:54Speaker 2: and they aren't even at the top of their routes.
- 6:55Speaker 2: So he's already moved past his first progression. And as
- 6:59Speaker 2: he's sliding his feet, not hitching up, he's looking to
- 7:04Speaker 2: where the number two and three receiver are like a glance.
- 7:07Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 7:08Speaker 2: And, of course, like this right here flashes the protection
- 7:12Speaker 2: issues on the right side, the outside. But I want
- 7:16Speaker 2: you to look right here. Like we see this all day,
- 7:19Speaker 2: every day. There is a pocket right here. Step up
- 7:23Speaker 2: in the pocket. I mean, it's pretty simple. And if
- 7:25Speaker 2: you are working your footwork, play action, three-step drop, one
- 7:29Speaker 2: read to number two to number three, this little slide, shuffle,
- 7:35Speaker 2: and ain't it. It's not it. He's got to fix it.
- 7:37Speaker 2: I don't know if it's being taught. A lot of
- 7:38Speaker 2: quarterbacks are trying to do this. I don't care what
- 7:41Speaker 2: it is. It's a new age quarterback thing. It ain't it.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Because it doesn't allow you to step up in the pocket.
- 7:47Speaker 2: And he sees that color flashes. But he's got a
- 7:50Speaker 2: good pocket there. People are going to see this and
- 7:52Speaker 2: be like, that's bad protection. He had to scramble early on.
- 7:55Speaker 2: My goodness. That's not bad protection. I'm sorry. That is
- 7:58Speaker 2: not bad protection. There is a place to, like you
- 8:01Speaker 2: saw Trinidad do it multiple times. Even if he has
- 8:03Speaker 2: to throw it on the run moving forward.
- 8:06Speaker 4: And then if you step up, your face is probably
- 8:10Speaker 4: going right to the dig route if you can't get
- 8:12Speaker 4: to the deep end.
- 8:12Speaker 2: And to look at where a quarterback is looking on
- 8:14Speaker 2: a play, just look at the stripe. So early on
- 8:16Speaker 2: play action, he looks right to his number one, and
- 8:19Speaker 2: then watch his stripe. It glances right there. But he's
- 8:22Speaker 2: still moving backwards. He's not ready to throw, and the
- 8:24Speaker 2: receivers are not in their places. So that's just one example.
- 8:28Speaker 2: There's many examples from all three weeks leading up to this.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Many examples of just working too fast. And that's a
- 8:35Speaker 2: good part. For LSU fans, this is a good problem
- 8:38Speaker 2: to have. Now, I know it's a problem. You have
- 8:41Speaker 2: to fix it. And Sam's got to take accountability. Coach
- 8:43Speaker 2: has got to take accountability and get it fixed. But
- 8:46Speaker 2: footwork can be fixed midseason. Yeah.
- 8:49Speaker 4: 100%.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Now, if you just got the yips and you can't
- 8:51Speaker 2: make a throw and you're just not playing well, that's
- 8:54Speaker 2: one thing. Footwork can be fixed. I'm not saying it is.
- 8:58Speaker 2: I'm not saying it isn't. I'm saying it can be.
- 9:00Speaker 2: I've seen it happen. Saw it happen with Jaden. You
- 9:02Speaker 2: see it happen, and it doesn't have to make that
- 9:05Speaker 2: drastic of an improvement. He just has to improve a
- 9:07Speaker 2: little bit. Because just the footwork's going to help him
- 9:10Speaker 2: not have to bail out on a play. Step up
- 9:12Speaker 2: in the pocket. And step up in the pocket with
- 9:14Speaker 2: your eyes down the field. He steps up trying to
- 9:18Speaker 2: make a play with his feet because he has that ability.
- 9:20Speaker 2: And a lot of the big plays, like Lane kind
- 9:23Speaker 2: of said in the press conference, when some of the
- 9:25Speaker 2: only big plays were made with your feet, it's kind
- 9:27Speaker 2: of hard not to do that. But it's also his fault.
- 9:31Speaker 2: Because he was missing people.
- 9:32Speaker 4: I mean, to your point, the window that you're talking about,
- 9:34Speaker 4: which is going to be right here in this alley,
- 9:36Speaker 4: is where Sam Levitt would be. Then you've got your
- 9:41Speaker 4: digger out. It's going to be right in front of
- 9:42Speaker 4: your face.
- 9:42Speaker 2: Yeah. It's going to be a 15-yard game. It's an
- 9:44Speaker 2: easy throw. It's a pitch and catch. Get the ball.
- 9:47Speaker 2: That's 13 minutes and 45 seconds left in the first quarter.
- 9:50Speaker 2: You're moving down the field. Just work the system. Work
- 9:54Speaker 2: the pass plays as they're designed to work. And don't
- 9:57Speaker 2: try to be Superman.
- 9:59Speaker 4: Uh let's take what's there go back just real quick
- 10:01Speaker 4: to where uh the protect right there uh keep going
- 10:05Speaker 4: stop look at dylan jones this guy dylan jones is
- 10:09Speaker 4: really good at pass protection he's a he's a Dylan
- 10:12Speaker 4: Jones is a football player.
- 10:13Speaker 2: He's really good.
- 10:14Speaker 4: I mean, he stops that linebacker in his tracks. That
- 10:17Speaker 4: linebacker kind of gives up. He's like, all right. He's like,
- 10:21Speaker 4: all right, you got me.
- 10:21Speaker 2: He's like, yeah, you got me.
- 10:22Speaker 4: Good work. He ends up coming back and trying to
- 10:24Speaker 4: make a play, but he stopped his rush because Dylan
- 10:27Speaker 4: Jones stonewalled him.
- 10:30Speaker 2: So that's just an example.
- 10:32Speaker 4: How much of that was him being injured in the
- 10:34Speaker 4: spring and this coaching staff not being able to do that?
- 10:38Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying? Like to see that and
- 10:40Speaker 4: be like, oh. let's work on that. Or is that
- 10:43Speaker 4: something you think now we'd have to go back and
- 10:45Speaker 4: do a deeper dive into Arizona state film. Is that
- 10:47Speaker 4: something where you think that's just kind of how he's been?
- 10:49Speaker 4: I don't know. I don't know.
- 10:56Speaker 2: It's a good question. I like, again, I didn't break
- 10:58Speaker 2: down his, his Arizona state film. I hate the, I
- 11:02Speaker 2: hate the, Token play fake, one big step, slide, shuffle,
- 11:06Speaker 2: drop back. Because you've got to be a real special
- 11:08Speaker 2: quarterback to be able to do that well because you've
- 11:09Speaker 2: got to be able to sit on that back foot
- 11:11Speaker 2: for a long time and mentally, like, be. So you
- 11:14Speaker 2: have to be, like, when I talk about a slide shuffle,
- 11:17Speaker 2: it's like everybody, you kind of know what a three-step
- 11:19Speaker 2: drop is. Right foot, left foot crosses over, then you
- 11:22Speaker 2: plant your right foot under your armpit, and you've got
- 11:25Speaker 2: all your weight behind you. This is, like, one big step,
- 11:27Speaker 2: and you just kind of, like, bring your left foot
- 11:29Speaker 2: a little bit closer, and you just start, like, you
- 11:31Speaker 2: shuffle your feet a little bit. He's not stopping a shuffle.
- 11:34Speaker 2: He moves back a lot, moves backwards. So to be
- 11:36Speaker 2: able to do that, Tom Brady did this, the slide shuffle.
- 11:40Speaker 2: Tom Brady, he can do it, right? But he could
- 11:43Speaker 2: sit on his platform, like his platform being his back
- 11:46Speaker 2: foot with the weight underneath him, his weight on the
- 11:49Speaker 2: balls of his feet, under his armpit, knees over his toe,
- 11:52Speaker 2: like all those things. Like he could sit there and
- 11:55Speaker 2: pull the trigger at any point. But you've got to
- 11:57Speaker 2: be a patient. You've got to be a real confident
- 11:58Speaker 2: quarterback to do that. It's hard to get to that level.
- 12:01Speaker 2: You don't see a lot of high school, college kids
- 12:03Speaker 2: that can do that really well. So that's how you
- 12:08Speaker 2: get quarterbacks, to me, into an offense, reading right, proper footwork.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Aaron Rodgers has some of the best footwork ever. That's
- 12:17Speaker 2: where I learned it. And that's how the West Coast
- 12:21Speaker 2: offense was. Every drop. Timed up with the route concept.
- 12:25Speaker 4: Every route concept, yeah. The drop was, there's a reason
- 12:28Speaker 4: why the drop was a part of the install.
- 12:30Speaker 2: That's why you can, like, plug someone into that offense
- 12:32Speaker 2: because this is your drop for that play. And it's like,
- 12:35Speaker 2: if you haven't seen him, like, if you haven't, if
- 12:38Speaker 2: you're on your first, second hitch and he's not there, like,
- 12:41Speaker 2: you got to, like, you work through your progression that way.
- 12:45Speaker 4: But to your point, a play was there to be made.
- 12:49Speaker 2: There was lots of plays to be made. Yeah.
- 12:51Speaker 4: All right, we will step away. We've got more coming

- 16:09Speaker 4: for Texas A & M as well. Go to rouses.com.
- 16:16Speaker 4: Going back and watching the tape, there was some things
- 16:20Speaker 4: I thought in the run game that got back on
- 16:23Speaker 4: track because big week one, we're talking LSU here, big
- 16:28Speaker 4: week one against Clemson, you had to scratch and claw
- 16:31Speaker 4: against Louisiana Tech, but it did feel like the run
- 16:34Speaker 4: game kind of got back on track and it does
- 16:36Speaker 4: feel like Dylan Jones is undoubtedly your guy. And I
- 16:41Speaker 4: know Stacy gauge came in for a little bit. He
- 16:43Speaker 4: had some carries.
- 16:47Speaker 2: It.
- 16:48Speaker 4: There's a couple of, of carries like, and we'll probably like,
- 16:51Speaker 4: I'll try to maybe find those and we'll pull those
- 16:53Speaker 4: in the eye in the sky today. But there's some
- 16:56Speaker 4: of those carries that, that gauge had where he tried to,
- 16:59Speaker 4: instead of the six yard run, hit the 60 yard run.
- 17:02Speaker 4: in some plays.
- 17:03Speaker 2: And yeah, there's one, I forget which one. And it was,
- 17:06Speaker 2: it was a zone read from the shotgun. Well, so
- 17:08Speaker 2: of course shotgun, uh, it was a zone read and
- 17:11Speaker 2: bounce it out.
- 17:11Speaker 4: And he had a pretty big, and you never, that,
- 17:13Speaker 4: that place never, ever going on. He's like, yeah. And
- 17:17Speaker 4: there was a cutback. There was, and you press it
- 17:20Speaker 4: like you're threatening to go run it out there, but
- 17:23Speaker 4: you put your foot in the ground, you're probably getting
- 17:25Speaker 4: four yards. And so, um, Dylan Jones undoubtedly the number
- 17:29Speaker 4: one back. He's got 64 carries. Now Sam Leavitt has 40,
- 17:32Speaker 4: but Stacey Gage second on the team as far as
- 17:34Speaker 4: running backs with 15.
- 17:37Speaker 2: Outside zone still is your best run and play this year.
- 17:40Speaker 2: Now you can't get to it all the time because
- 17:42Speaker 2: if they run some outside pressure, you have to get
- 17:46Speaker 2: a good look to run that against, but it's been
- 17:49Speaker 2: the running play that your team has been able to
- 17:52Speaker 2: execute the most times really well for explosive gains, and
- 17:55Speaker 2: Dylan Jones really does that.
- 17:57Speaker 4: Well.
- 17:58Speaker 2: He's really good at pressing his blocks. And then when
- 18:01Speaker 2: he sees a window, sees a hole, putting that foot
- 18:04Speaker 2: in the ground and getting north and south. And your
- 18:06Speaker 2: line's done a really good job of getting push on
- 18:09Speaker 2: outside zones and double teams and working up to that
- 18:11Speaker 2: second level. So that's been your most consistent big play
- 18:15Speaker 2: opportunities this season has been that outside zone.
- 18:19Speaker 4: And so you're facing a team. Let's go to Texas
- 18:22Speaker 4: A & M. Let's go to the opponent. They played
- 18:24Speaker 4: Kentucky last week and Kentucky ran the football 36 times
- 18:29Speaker 4: for 156 yards. They're starting running back C.J. Baxter, the
- 18:33Speaker 4: Texas transfer. He goes 19 carries for 87 yards. He
- 18:36Speaker 4: had two touchdowns. And Jason Patterson had six carries for
- 18:40Speaker 4: 58 yards, had a long of 22. And they had
- 18:44Speaker 4: multiple backs. Skinner actually came in and had two carries
- 18:47Speaker 4: for 14 yards. So they had three backs actually have
- 18:50Speaker 4: a pretty decent day with their opportunities today. And I
- 18:53Speaker 4: will say, going back and watching, I hadn't watched the
- 18:55Speaker 4: full totality of the game, so I'm not going to
- 18:57Speaker 4: act like I have. I watched most of the first half.
- 19:01Speaker 4: The line of scrimmage, Kentucky won. And they won it
- 19:04Speaker 4: on the road, which is oftentimes very difficult to do
- 19:07Speaker 4: because of the crowd noise and the snap counts. But
- 19:09Speaker 4: on both sides, that was the glaring thing that kind
- 19:12Speaker 4: of stood out to me because Texas A & M
- 19:14Speaker 4: last year, one of the things they were always going
- 19:17Speaker 4: to do, what it felt like, was win the line
- 19:18Speaker 4: of scrimmage. Now there's a lot of, Players that are
- 19:21Speaker 4: not there, they're now playing on Sundays. But, look, maybe
- 19:25Speaker 4: Kentucky up front is better than I think they are
- 19:28Speaker 4: currently right now. But that was the thing to me
- 19:30Speaker 4: that kind of stood out was the line of scrimmage.
- 19:32Speaker 4: Kentucky won the battle, again, on the road.
- 19:38Speaker 2: I mean, it all starts with those big war daddies
- 19:41Speaker 2: up there in the trenches. And, look, it's been, there's
- 19:46Speaker 2: been a lot of, uh, there's been a lot of
- 19:48Speaker 2: things that the nitpick on, but the offensive line for LSU,
- 19:51Speaker 2: I think, you know, Lane even mentioned it yesterday that
- 19:55Speaker 2: there could be a little shake up or a little
- 19:57Speaker 2: bit of opportunity for some different looks, maybe some different
- 20:00Speaker 2: guys getting some opportunities during the game. Now, is that
- 20:03Speaker 2: going to be like a complete, you know, yanking one
- 20:05Speaker 2: guy to put somebody else in? Not probably not probably
- 20:08Speaker 2: maybe a little bit of a rotation, uh, Because, you know,
- 20:11Speaker 2: the guys playing won the job for a reason because
- 20:14Speaker 2: they were the best in camp, right? So, you know,
- 20:17Speaker 2: to think somebody else is going to go in and
- 20:19Speaker 2: all of a sudden any issue that you have on
- 20:21Speaker 2: the offensive line is going to be fixed immediately is
- 20:23Speaker 2: probably a little bit irrational to think that. So you
- 20:26Speaker 2: put somebody in, maybe somebody else goes in there and
- 20:29Speaker 2: under the lights shines a little bit brighter, improves a
- 20:33Speaker 2: little bit more. Maybe they've improved, you know, steadily through practices.
- 20:36Speaker 2: And so.
- 20:39Speaker 2: You know, I'm not, there's a lot of people talking
- 20:45Speaker 2: and I've seen it about really bad offensive line play
- 20:49Speaker 2: this year. I'm not seeing it. Has it been great always?
- 20:55Speaker 2: Sometimes has it even been good? No, it's not. But that's,
- 20:58Speaker 2: we're three weeks into it. You got beat multiple times
- 21:03Speaker 2: this past weekend under a very bright light, under a
- 21:06Speaker 2: very big microscope. You got beat a lot by probably
- 21:11Speaker 2: the guy that's going to go be the first defensive
- 21:13Speaker 2: lineman taken in the draft. Or at least the first
- 21:16Speaker 2: defensive tackle. That guy's good. And yeah, he beat you. Yeah,
- 21:21Speaker 2: he did. And you can't get beat. That's not an excuse. Yeah,
- 21:23Speaker 2: you got beat by a really, really good player. And
- 21:27Speaker 2: you got to improve from that. But you don't think
- 21:29Speaker 2: they learned something from playing the best player in the
- 21:31Speaker 2: country at that position? Yeah, they learned something. You learned
- 21:36Speaker 2: view some things that worked and what certainly what didn't
- 21:39Speaker 2: work and we learned from those things so like yeah
- 21:42Speaker 2: they got beat under a big magnifying glass but i
- 21:44Speaker 2: mean to sit here and say that offensive lines the
- 21:47Speaker 2: reason like we lost now that's not i mean there's
- 21:51Speaker 2: a lot of different reasons you point out did that
- 21:53Speaker 2: did getting beat and did having some really bad plays
- 21:57Speaker 2: in the offensive line did it play a factor absolutely
- 22:00Speaker 2: everybody played a factor Tons of plays that receivers messed
- 22:03Speaker 2: up that played a factor. Quarterback that messed up. Running
- 22:05Speaker 2: back that you missed the wide-open cut and missed the
- 22:07Speaker 2: pass protection. Yeah. Sometimes where defenders didn't know what to
- 22:11Speaker 2: do in zone. I get it. But all that's not
- 22:13Speaker 2: under the microscope, kind of like when you get beat
- 22:15Speaker 2: just one-on-one on the offensive line. So, like, last year,
- 22:18Speaker 2: there was a real problem. There's a little problem now, but, like,
- 22:22Speaker 2: I see it getting worked out. Again, we're three games
- 22:26Speaker 2: into this. We're three games into the season. That line
- 22:29Speaker 2: is going to get better. as they play with each
- 22:31Speaker 2: other more and more and more. So there's a lot
- 22:35Speaker 2: of people pointing a lot of fingers right now. And
- 22:39Speaker 2: I just, I just, I don't see it being a huge, huge,
- 22:44Speaker 2: huge issue. Now is somebody going to somebody else? Do
- 22:47Speaker 2: I expect more people to play in the offensive line,
- 22:49Speaker 2: especially on the inside? Yeah, I do. You probably get
- 22:51Speaker 2: a little bit of rotation, but again, those guys won
- 22:53Speaker 2: the job. That's a start in five.
- 22:56Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 22:56Speaker 2: Because they were the, best right.
- 22:58Speaker 4: At the yeah at the point when starters were named
- 23:00Speaker 4: those were the five now Tay Tay I'll throw this
- 23:03Speaker 4: one I'll bring you back into the conversation I know
- 23:05Speaker 4: obviously going to spring practice going to training camp you
- 23:07Speaker 4: talked a lot about position battles if you hear the
- 23:10Speaker 4: head coach Lane Kiffin say there could be some small
- 23:13Speaker 4: changes what do you think that means.
- 23:16Speaker 9: Right tackle potentially like again I think Weston Davis a
- 23:20Speaker 9: lot better than he was a year ago but I mean,
- 23:23Speaker 9: he was your lowest graded player over the weekend. I
- 23:25Speaker 9: think he was your lowest graded offensive lineman in the
- 23:27Speaker 9: Clemson game as well. And that doesn't necessarily mean he's
- 23:30Speaker 9: not good. It's just look right tackle. That's an important spot.
- 23:35Speaker 9: And you have Sean Tompkins who started pretty much every
- 23:38Speaker 9: game at Baylor last year in the power for as
- 23:41Speaker 9: a tackle. He's an option. Bryson Martinez, who you brought
- 23:44Speaker 9: in from the high school ranks. He's a really talented
- 23:46Speaker 9: guy that's moved up into that twos. He was repping
- 23:49Speaker 9: with the twos that left tackle, but He played a
- 23:52Speaker 9: lot of right tackle and tight end in high school,
- 23:54Speaker 9: so that's an option for you. And then, look, I mean,
- 23:57Speaker 9: we all love the story of Bo Bordelon, but that
- 24:00Speaker 9: was one that wasn't figured out until a little bit later.
- 24:03Speaker 2: Like, those are the two spots.
- 24:04Speaker 9: And you have Devin Harper that's gotten some reps in games,
- 24:08Speaker 9: came over with Kiffin.
- 24:09Speaker 4: Played a fullback last game.
- 24:10Speaker 2: Played a fullback. William Satterwhite.
- 24:12Speaker 9: I know he's kind of your backup center, but he's
- 24:14Speaker 9: played everywhere along the offensive line. Like, those are the
- 24:16Speaker 9: two spots right now I would say that are up
- 24:18Speaker 9: for grabs.
- 24:21Speaker 4: And that's certainly going to be something to watch this
- 24:24Speaker 4: weekend and see if those small changes are made, if
- 24:26Speaker 4: they're made in the starting lineup, if they're made as
- 24:29Speaker 4: far as rotational pieces, and something certainly to pay attention to.
- 24:33Speaker 4: And if we go across real quick to the other side,
- 24:37Speaker 4: the defensive line, LSU's defensive line, well, they didn't really
- 24:41Speaker 4: let Ole Miss run the football. That part of it
- 24:44Speaker 4: was good. week ago for Texas A & M last
- 24:47Speaker 4: week against Kentucky they ran the football 35 times for
- 24:50Speaker 4: 187 yards and two touchdowns 80 of those yards were
- 24:54Speaker 4: to Marcel Reed he had 10 carries 80 yards one
- 24:59Speaker 4: touchdown a long of 40 for Reuben Owens the second
- 25:03Speaker 4: he had 18 carries 74 yards 4.1 yards per carry
- 25:07Speaker 4: they want to establish a run that's why they run
- 25:09Speaker 4: 35 times you all know that but They got behind,
- 25:12Speaker 4: and they also had to put the ball in the
- 25:14Speaker 4: air a week ago. Marcel Reed ended up throwing 49
- 25:18Speaker 4: times in this game, 26 of 49, 236, only 4.8
- 25:23Speaker 4: yards per attempt. You throw to the other side. Kenny
- 25:25Speaker 4: Menchie was 14 yards per attempt. Marcel Reed threw two interceptions.
- 25:31Speaker 4: I think it's pretty easy to say. We've said it
- 25:33Speaker 4: for a couple years, but it has to happen. You
- 25:36Speaker 4: make Marcel Reed beat you making throws. If you lose
- 25:41Speaker 4: to Marcel Reed making throws, you tip your cap because
- 25:44Speaker 4: that is something he still has not shown that he
- 25:47Speaker 4: can do at an elite level consistently.
- 25:51Speaker 9: A & M scored 49 points on you a year ago.
- 25:54Speaker 9: This is Marcel Reed's numbers. 12 of 21, 202, two touchdowns,
- 25:58Speaker 9: two interceptions. The year before when he came in at halftime,
- 26:01Speaker 9: Marcel Reed threw two passes. Completed both of them through
- 26:04Speaker 9: two passes. That's what he's done against you. It's all
- 26:07Speaker 9: been on the ground.
- 26:13Speaker 2: I will say this.
- 26:15Speaker 4: I don't like how long you paused. Usually you shoot
- 26:19Speaker 4: from the hip.
- 26:21Speaker 2: I'm not to Marcel Reed yet. Just to follow up
- 26:27Speaker 2: on what I've heard a lot. Be careful what you
- 26:31Speaker 2: hear when everyone starts spewing out PFF grades. Especially in
- 26:37Speaker 2: the lineman position. If someone grades out a 39%, people
- 26:40Speaker 2: are like, whoops. 3.9 out of every 10 plays is bad.
- 26:47Speaker 2: It's an indication. It's a tool to use. But people
- 26:51Speaker 2: grade and they don't know. They don't know. And I
- 26:55Speaker 2: look at the grades. I do. And I look as
- 26:57Speaker 2: an indication on whether you played really well, how physically
- 27:01Speaker 2: dominant you were. But as far as, like, scheme and stuff, like,
- 27:04Speaker 2: especially on the offensive line, like, sometimes you get a
- 27:07Speaker 2: bad grade. I think probably.
- 27:09Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 27:10Speaker 2: I didn't look at it. But, like, that clip we
- 27:12Speaker 2: just showed last segment, Weston Davis probably got a bad
- 27:15Speaker 2: grade on that. And it wasn't a bad play.
- 27:18Speaker 4: To your point, yeah.
- 27:19Speaker 2: He pushed his guy outside. Quarterback has to step up.
- 27:22Speaker 2: The quarterback should get the negative grade on that one,
- 27:25Speaker 2: not the offensive line. And if I had to bet,
- 27:28Speaker 2: I would say the right tackle got a negative grade
- 27:31Speaker 2: on that. And I saw multiple times where the tackles
- 27:33Speaker 2: were doing their job. They were making the defensive end
- 27:36Speaker 2: run the hump around the quarterback. Sometimes it looks like
- 27:40Speaker 2: they're getting beat, but it's not. They're not. They're doing
- 27:42Speaker 2: what they're told. Their assignment is to push them. Like,
- 27:45Speaker 2: you're not always going to lock somebody down. But if
- 27:48Speaker 2: you can push them with your inside hand, push them outside,
- 27:51Speaker 2: and make them run the hump, that's a win. He
- 27:54Speaker 2: made them run the hump on that play, but Sam
- 27:55Speaker 2: decided to keep scrambling out that side, out that door.
- 27:58Speaker 2: So just be careful when you look at PFF grades.
- 28:01Speaker 2: And everybody's doing it right now. They're like, this guy sucks.
- 28:04Speaker 2: He's 40. He's averaging 43 in pass protection. All right, well,
- 28:08Speaker 2: I mean. Yeah, but kind of shut up a little bit.
- 28:13Speaker 2: He tries so nice. Well, you maybe kind of sort
- 28:16Speaker 2: of shut up. It's not the Bible. I'll say that.

- 31:29Speaker 2: Feeling good. BPC 157 NAD +.
- 31:34Speaker 4: I'm surprised you remember those numbers. Good for you.
- 31:36Speaker 2: I'm smart, bro. I'm named them. And, you know, mispronounce
- 31:43Speaker 2: words a lot. Other than that. Outside of those very
- 31:51Speaker 2: two simple brain exercises.
- 31:54Speaker 4: Very smart.
- 31:56Speaker 5: You should just do, like, house bunny.
- 31:57Speaker 4: That's how she, like, whenever somebody would introduce themselves, like, hey,
- 32:02Speaker 4: I'm Matt.
- 32:03Speaker 2: She'd be like.
- 32:04Speaker 5: You just need to start doing that.
- 32:05Speaker 2: Oh, I remember that.
- 32:06Speaker 5: And, like, I feel like you would remember.
- 32:08Speaker 2: That's right. I need to do that.
- 32:10Speaker 4: I am so named.
- 32:11Speaker 5: Yeah. So, like, last night, number 28. Who's number 28
- 32:14Speaker 5: on LSU's football team? Matt?
- 32:16Speaker 2: On offense?
- 32:19Speaker 5: On defense.
- 32:20Speaker 4: Defense.
- 32:22Speaker 2: Oh, Jace.
- 32:22Speaker 4: 31?
- 32:22Speaker 1: Jace.
- 32:23Speaker 2: Yes.
- 32:23Speaker 8: 31.
- 32:25Speaker 4: 31.
- 32:27Speaker 2: 31.
- 32:30Speaker 4: I don't remember that one.
- 32:31Speaker 2: Matt, maybe you talked about this. I know, it's the name.
- 32:33Speaker 5: You said F-U, that's not a real name.
- 32:36Speaker 4: That was it.
- 32:36Speaker 2: I mean, that's the first time I've read it. I mean,
- 32:39Speaker 2: it looked like Leisure. It looked like CJ.
- 32:42Speaker 4: That was actually really good.
- 32:47Speaker 2: Oh, good one.
- 32:50Speaker 4: They are going to be shuffling around, I think, back
- 32:53Speaker 4: there to try to figure out the best mix now
- 32:57Speaker 4: that Spears is going to be out for the year.
- 32:58Speaker 4: they are going to be trying to figure, okay, we've
- 33:01Speaker 4: got some versatile safety. You know, to Marcus Cooley can
- 33:04Speaker 4: play a lot of different positions. He's probably going to
- 33:06Speaker 4: go to the nickel. I would assume Jace Thomas goes
- 33:09Speaker 4: to the free safety. Jim Coley was somebody that he
- 33:13Speaker 4: played a little bit of safety in the game. And
- 33:15Speaker 4: then they made the change to bring in Jace Thomas.
- 33:18Speaker 4: And then he went to actual edge rusher on some
- 33:20Speaker 4: sub downs. So it's going to be a little bit
- 33:23Speaker 4: of a Rubik's cube to try to figure out what
- 33:25Speaker 4: the best combination of players is going to be.
- 33:28Speaker 9: Hmm.
- 33:29Speaker 2: Team Jackson played.
- 33:30Speaker 4: Good, too. He came in a bunch. He had the interception,
- 33:32Speaker 4: but he played well at corner, so you can move
- 33:34Speaker 4: some people around.
- 33:35Speaker 2: You know who I'm putting in there? At nickel?
- 33:38Speaker 4: I said nickel, so don't be using that tone with me.
- 33:40Speaker 2: I'm putting DJ Pickett at nickel.
- 33:42Speaker 9: So, PJ Woodland got some reps there, I believe.
- 33:46Speaker 4: He did.
- 33:46Speaker 2: When they brought in the game. Let me tell you something.
- 33:48Speaker 2: DJ Pickett does not play like he looks. He's kind
- 33:52Speaker 2: of a slight guy. He's physical. He is. He is
- 33:56Speaker 2: not afraid to tackle, and he steps up to make
- 33:58Speaker 2: a– Like, for our Eye in the Sky later, I
- 34:00Speaker 2: got two clips of him just making really good tackles
- 34:03Speaker 2: on the outside.
- 34:03Speaker 4: Hell yeah.
- 34:04Speaker 2: Only two? Well, he made lots.
- 34:06Speaker 4: Okay.
- 34:06Speaker 2: All right. Relax. Everybody relax.
- 34:08Speaker 3: Only two out of 35?
- 34:08Speaker 2: Everyone's upset because I'm watching a film. I'm like, ooh,
- 34:11Speaker 2: I want to show this one. Ooh, I want to
- 34:12Speaker 2: show that one. Ooh, I like this one. There's a
- 34:14Speaker 2: lot of plays in the game. Okay. I just clipped
- 34:18Speaker 2: 35 of them.
- 34:18Speaker 4: You know how long 35 plays would take for you
- 34:22Speaker 4: to get through them?
- 34:24Speaker 2: Watch the whole game.
- 34:24Speaker 4: 35 plays would take you, Alondra, three and a half hours?
- 34:28Speaker 5: I think it would take more than that.
- 34:30Speaker 4: Okay.
- 34:30Speaker 2: But I'm going to four to five consciously. I feel
- 34:33Speaker 2: like more people want to see a few more plays.
- 34:35Speaker 4: Okay.
- 34:36Speaker 2: So there are some plays that are just like, Hey,
- 34:38Speaker 2: just watch this one because like, what's.
- 34:40Speaker 4: Our magic number in an hour today? What's that place
- 34:44Speaker 4: you want to get through? Oh, Nope.
- 34:46Speaker 8: We're going to do it. We're going to do it.
- 34:48Speaker 5: 35 in an hour, a minute for like the small ones.
- 34:52Speaker 5: And then you could do, it's not going to take
- 34:54Speaker 5: an hour. It's going to take more than an hour.
- 34:56Speaker 4: Exactly.
- 34:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:58Speaker 4: Showbiz baby.
- 34:59Speaker 5: Well, the show starts at 1.
- 35:00Speaker 4: That's Hollywood, baby, as you said earlier.
- 35:02Speaker 5: It's Hollywood of the South.
- 35:04Speaker 2: Look, I'm putting DJ Pickett at.
- 35:07Speaker 4: The nickel position. Okay, if you put him at nickel,
- 35:10Speaker 4: then you're going to put Jakeem Jackson and PJ Woodland
- 35:13Speaker 4: as your corners. You're going to keep Tamarcus Cooley at
- 35:15Speaker 4: free safety. Keep Ty Benefield at strong safety.
- 35:18Speaker 2: Yeah, sure.
- 35:18Speaker 4: Boom, there you go.
- 35:19Speaker 5: Mr. Yo Mama Fat as Hell in the chat says,
- 35:23Speaker 5: no picket, look trash.
- 35:26Speaker 1: So, boom.
- 35:27Speaker 5: Tell the people why Pickett did not. Tell yo mama
- 35:29Speaker 5: fat as hell.
- 35:30Speaker 4: No, Pickett.
- 35:31Speaker 7: No.
- 35:32Speaker 2: Is that supposed to be no comma?
- 35:33Speaker 5: No, I think he, yeah, I think he meant no.
- 35:35Speaker 5: Pickett looked trash.
- 35:37Speaker 2: Looked trash at what?
- 35:38Speaker 9: I think when he said turn your damn head around,
- 35:40Speaker 9: I think he's talking about the play where Trinidad threw
- 35:42Speaker 9: it over the two guys and he went and caught him,
- 35:44Speaker 9: but Trinidad dropped that in a bucket.
- 35:45Speaker 2: That's a tough play for DJ Pickett to make.
- 35:48Speaker 4: You're talking about when he was the trailer and the
- 35:49Speaker 4: safety was coming over the top? Yeah, I'm assuming. No,
- 35:52Speaker 4: his technique is for the safety to have his head
- 35:54Speaker 4: on the football.
- 35:55Speaker 2: I'm assuming that's the play.
- 35:56Speaker 4: I mean, he can make a play on it, but
- 35:57Speaker 4: I'm saying he's counting on the safety, too. And it
- 36:00Speaker 4: was dropped in the bucket. And also, he's not Jesus.
- 36:03Speaker 4: He's not perfect. He's going to have a play or two,
- 36:07Speaker 4: but he's still a player that.
- 36:08Speaker 2: He can play. Sorry, we forgot that you never made
- 36:11Speaker 2: a mistake. That was a bad read, too. Sorry, Mr.
- 36:16Speaker 2: Fat as Hell. Sorry, Mr. Fat as Hell.
- 36:23Speaker 5: Yo, Mama Fat as Hell, 1146.
- 36:25Speaker 2: Bet you never made a mistake, Mr.
- 36:27Speaker 7: Perfect.
- 36:30Speaker 2: That was a bad read by Trinidad. Let me tell
- 36:32Speaker 2: you something. Can I just say this real quick?
- 36:35Speaker 4: I know what he's about to say.
- 36:37Speaker 2: Trinidad made some really good plays, like some heroic plays.
- 36:40Speaker 2: He will probably win the Heisman. He'll probably be.
- 36:42Speaker 5: Well, yeah, he's 27 years old.
- 36:43Speaker 2: That's a great point.
- 36:45Speaker 4: He's a seasoned vet.
- 36:47Speaker 2: He made some like absolutely miraculous plays. He didn't make,
- 36:52Speaker 2: he made some bad plays too. He made some very,
- 36:55Speaker 2: he made some poor quarterback pre-snap decision plays. And a
- 36:59Speaker 2: lot of those plays he did make. I don't know
- 37:04Speaker 2: if they necessarily translate to the next level. I'll take
- 37:10Speaker 2: a shot. No, this is, this is not a shot,
- 37:11Speaker 2: but I'm just watching that. I'm like, you've been a,
- 37:13Speaker 2: you've been a, I've been a fan of his. I've
- 37:15Speaker 2: been a fan of his. I've been saying a lot
- 37:16Speaker 2: of really good things. But I did watch the film.
- 37:18Speaker 2: And he did, like, LSU played some soft coverage. And
- 37:21Speaker 2: I think a lot of people complained on the internet
- 37:22Speaker 2: about the soft coverage. Well, LSU did everything. They brought
- 37:24Speaker 2: literally every type of defense you could throw at them.
- 37:27Speaker 2: And they did it. And a lot of it worked.
- 37:29Speaker 2: Some of it didn't. But sometimes you just get caught.
- 37:31Speaker 2: The wrong play call versus the wrong play call. And
- 37:34Speaker 2: he did miss a decent amount of, like, bad reads.
- 37:37Speaker 2: Reading the wrong side of the route versus, or wrong
- 37:39Speaker 2: side of.
- 37:39Speaker 4: The play versus.
- 37:41Speaker 2: So, like, he wasn't perfect. I'll say this. Now, he
- 37:43Speaker 2: made some plays that make your head spin for sure.
- 37:48Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 37:48Speaker 2: Just watch the film.
- 37:50Speaker 4: When he stepped up in the pocket and threw that
- 37:52Speaker 4: one into the end zone, like he stepped up and
- 37:55Speaker 4: then– It was third down. And then ripped it on third. Yeah,
- 37:57Speaker 4: that was like– He did. He made two really good throws,
- 38:01Speaker 4: stepping up in the pocket, throwing it over in the middle.
- 38:05Speaker 4: It was also a really bad safety play on both
- 38:06Speaker 4: of them.
- 38:07Speaker 2: Yeah. It was.
- 38:08Speaker 4: And that's– After that play is when they made the move.
- 38:11Speaker 2: The touchdown– To change it up. The touchdown right before halftime.
- 38:14Speaker 4: That's the one I'm talking about.
- 38:16Speaker 2: That was when Benefield messed that one up. It should
- 38:18Speaker 2: have been a pick. Like, he shouldn't have ever thrown
- 38:19Speaker 2: that ball. It was a touchdown. Yeah. He played it
- 38:22Speaker 2: very poorly.
- 38:23Speaker 4: And they switched some things up after that play. I
- 38:26Speaker 4: believe it was after that one.
- 38:27Speaker 2: Anyway.
- 38:28Speaker 4: The one he stepped up in the pocket and found
- 38:30Speaker 4: a way to get around and then shovel past it.
- 38:33Speaker 4: Is that the one you're talking about? Maybe not translating,
- 38:34Speaker 4: but still a great play.
- 38:35Speaker 2: A lot of them. A lot of the ones where
- 38:37Speaker 2: he threw it and she shouldn't have and it scored
- 38:39Speaker 2: because of bad play. Poor. I mean, not great play.
- 38:45Speaker 2: Not bad.
- 38:46Speaker 4: We can take a look at the SEC slate when
- 38:49Speaker 4: we come back, what it looks like this weekend. Because
- 38:52Speaker 4: as bad as last week was, it was so bad
- 38:54Speaker 4: I was watching, I told you all, North Texas versus
- 38:56Speaker 4: Texas State. I think that was either on the CW
- 38:59Speaker 4: or USA network. That's what I was watching. This week's slate.
- 39:03Speaker 5: On basic cable.
- 39:04Speaker 4: Much better. Much better. They didn't even show, like, Gilmore
- 39:07Speaker 4: Girls or One Tree Hill after either.
- 39:09Speaker 2: Which, what the hell are you doing? I'm sure Notre
- 39:11Speaker 2: Dame plays.
- 39:11Speaker 4: A big one.
- 39:13Speaker 5: Who's Notre Dame playing?
- 39:14Speaker 4: Probably Navy or Army.
- 39:16Speaker 2: That's cool that Marler went to.
- 39:18Speaker 5: Georgia College State Institution of Technology.
- 39:22Speaker 4: Ask me about Marlena. That's cool.
- 39:25Speaker 2: They played Purdue.
- 39:28Speaker 4: Electric.
- 39:29Speaker 9: The mighty Boilermakers. That's the school in Indiana you go
- 39:32Speaker 9: to if you want to win championships. Hey, look, it's
- 39:34Speaker 9: not Notre Dame's fault. They didn't know they were going
- 39:35Speaker 9: to be bad this year.
- 39:37Speaker 4: Purdue's good for that. They didn't.
- 39:38Speaker 2: They didn't know.
- 39:40Speaker 4: They did play Miami coming up here somewhat soon. All right,
- 39:43Speaker 4: we'll take a look at the slate in the SEC

- 41:52Speaker 4: No, I said Gonzales, Louisiana. That's actually not the capital city.
- 41:54Speaker 4: It's in the Gonzales. Ah, Metropolis. There you go.
- 41:57Speaker 2: That's better.
- 41:58Speaker 4: All right, in the top 25 this weekend, it is
- 42:02Speaker 4: going to be Northwestern traveling to number five, Indiana. It's
- 42:07Speaker 4: going to be number one, Texas, traveling to number 14, Tennessee.
- 42:13Speaker 4: Illinois traveling to number seven, Ohio State. Sam Houston traveling
- 42:16Speaker 4: to number 11, Texas Tech. Wake Forest traveling to number 16, Louisville.
- 42:21Speaker 4: Number three, Notre Dame traveling to Purdue. I'm sure that's
- 42:24Speaker 4: going to be a barn burner. Oklahoma traveling to Athens
- 42:28Speaker 4: to take on the number two, Georgia Bulldogs. Number four,
- 42:31Speaker 4: Ole Miss traveling to number 21, Florida. Number 15, Utah
- 42:35Speaker 4: traveling to Iowa State. Number 17, Iowa traveling to number 18, Michigan.
- 42:40Speaker 4: Michigan a five and a half point favorite in that one.
- 42:43Speaker 4: Might have to play that one. Might hear about that
- 42:45Speaker 4: one later. Number 25, Houston traveling to Georgia Southern. Wait,
- 42:51Speaker 4: they're playing in Statesboro? Yes, that's correct.
- 42:54Speaker 2: Wow.
- 42:54Speaker 4: Who is? I guess Willie Fritz is throwing them a
- 42:57Speaker 4: bone since he's the coach there. Houston's going to Georgia Southern.
- 43:03Speaker 4: All right. Wisconsin traveling to number 13, Penn State. Central
- 43:07Speaker 4: Michigan traveling to number six, Miami. South Carolina going to
- 43:11Speaker 4: Tuscaloosa to take on number eight, Alabama. Of course, number 23,
- 43:15Speaker 4: Texas A & M coming down to Baton Rouge to
- 43:17Speaker 4: take on number 10, LSU. Number 20, Oregon traveling to
- 43:22Speaker 4: California to take on number 12, USC. Number 19, Missouri
- 43:27Speaker 4: traveling to Stark, Vegas to take on number 24, Mississippi State.
- 43:32Speaker 4: And Missouri State traveling to number 22, SMU. I want
- 43:36Speaker 4: to say I saw something crazy, like tied for the
- 43:39Speaker 4: most ranked-on-ranked matchups in the SEC maybe ever?
- 43:43Speaker 2: Yeah, no, it is ever. I'm reading it right here.
- 43:45Speaker 8: It's four.
- 43:46Speaker 2: Four in one weekend. That's never happened.
- 43:49Speaker 4: All right. Get behind that.
- 43:52Speaker 2: Okay.
- 43:54Speaker 4: In those matchups, Texas and Tennessee. Texas on the road,
- 43:58Speaker 4: a five-and-a-half-point favorite still. Ole Miss on the road against Florida. Florida,
- 44:03Speaker 4: a three-and-a-half-point favorite. Against Ole Miss. Am I surprised by that?
- 44:09Speaker 2: That just feels like a game.
- 44:10Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, for sure. I think Florida's good. I
- 44:14Speaker 4: think they are a good football team.
- 44:16Speaker 2: I feel like Vegas is begging you to take Ole
- 44:18Speaker 2: Miss in that game.
- 44:19Speaker 4: You think that's like stinky.
- 44:21Speaker 2: It just feels like it.
- 44:24Speaker 4: All right. The other ranked on ranked matchup in the SEC,
- 44:28Speaker 4: A & M and LSU. LSU has gone down to
- 44:30Speaker 4: an eight and a half point favorite. Was it nine
- 44:32Speaker 4: and a half yesterday? And then in Missouri, Mississippi State.
- 44:35Speaker 4: Mississippi State is six and a half point favorite.
- 44:38Speaker 5: Nine and a half for LSU felt violent to me yesterday.
- 44:41Speaker 2: That was way too much.
- 44:42Speaker 5: I was like, whoa, yeah.
- 44:44Speaker 4: It scared me. It was jarring. Yeah. I was thinking
- 44:47Speaker 4: that would be five and a half, six and a half.
- 44:50Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 44:50Speaker 4: So it's coming down.
- 44:51Speaker 2: Maybe it's good. Maybe it's like stinky in a good
- 44:54Speaker 2: way for LSU. Like stinky because people are like, oh boy.
- 44:57Speaker 2: It's like, I don't think it should be that much.
- 44:58Speaker 2: Why is it that much? What have we done now?
- 45:02Speaker 2: They know Sam Levitt's going to slow down.
- 45:04Speaker 4: I understand. They do.
- 45:06Speaker 9: They're like, Matt Flynn has talked about this, and we
- 45:08Speaker 9: think he's going to take his advice.
- 45:10Speaker 4: Are you going over there later? Yeah.
- 45:12Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 45:13Speaker 4: You're going to coach it up? I might do. You
- 45:16Speaker 4: used to work with Danny Elling.
- 45:18Speaker 2: Oh, I'd love to.
- 45:20Speaker 5: You and T?
- 45:21Speaker 4: Me and T.
- 45:21Speaker 5: I might do Tennessee plus five and a half for
- 45:25Speaker 5: the platoon parlay.
- 45:27Speaker 4: Tennessee, you said?
- 45:29Speaker 5: Plus five and a half. I might hit that up.
- 45:31Speaker 4: I'm sitting looking at Iowa.
- 45:33Speaker 5: What was that?
- 45:34Speaker 4: What was the number I said they were? I got it.
- 45:42Speaker 4: Five and a half. Plus five and a half against Michigan.
- 45:45Speaker 4: I might. I think Michigan's bad.
- 45:49Speaker 2: You think Michigan's bad?
- 45:54Speaker 4: Yeah, Western Michigan still won that game. I mean, literally.
- 45:58Speaker 2: Do you think Oklahoma's still going to the national championship?
- 46:00Speaker 4: No.
- 46:02Speaker 2: Missed.
- 46:03Speaker 4: I do not think. Damn it.
- 46:04Speaker 2: Missed that one.
- 46:05Speaker 5: There goes one of my bowl predictions.
- 46:06Speaker 4: I do not think that is going to happen, no. Look,
- 46:09Speaker 4: I picked Oregon to win the Big Ten. That one
- 46:11Speaker 4: doesn't look great.
- 46:12Speaker 5: Ooh, yeah.
- 46:13Speaker 2: Yikes.
- 46:14Speaker 4: I put a lot of faith in Dante Moore and
- 46:15Speaker 4: Dan Lennon.
- 46:16Speaker 5: Road favorites against the 12th ranked team in the country, though.
- 46:19Speaker 4: Oh, they are.
- 46:20Speaker 5: Oregon's minus three.
- 46:21Speaker 2: Ooh, on the road.
- 46:23Speaker 4: In the Coliseum? Yep. All right. Hour three, coming your
- 46:28Speaker 4: way here live from the Raising Cane Studio.
