- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on, uh huh, I sure will. Good morning everybody,
- 0:07Speaker 1: you all.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Listening to the voice, come on, dig me now, One
- 0:11Speaker 2: and only Steve Harvey got a radio show. Man oh Man.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Oh Man symbolizes just one thing to me. Man, It's
- 0:18Speaker 2: just a constant remind of exactly how good God has.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Been to me over the years.
- 0:23Speaker 2: And I'm thank him for it too, because I realize
- 0:25Speaker 2: every day that I wake up that I would be
- 0:28Speaker 2: nothing without him. That everything I am, that's any good
- 0:32Speaker 2: in me, I owe to him.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Now.
- 0:34Speaker 2: Have I made some mistakes along the way? Yep, bunches,
- 0:39Speaker 2: bunches and bunches. And will I continue to make mistakes
- 0:43Speaker 2: along the way?
- 0:45Speaker 1: Yep?
- 0:46Speaker 2: Not as many, hopefully as I have in the past,
- 0:50Speaker 2: because a lot of stuff I know better now. But
- 0:53Speaker 2: you're still going to make mistakes now, you know. Hopefully
- 0:58Speaker 2: I've limited the amount of intentional errors in my life.
- 1:03Speaker 2: I've wiped quite a few of those out, but from
- 1:06Speaker 2: time to time, because we're human, we're going to make
- 1:09Speaker 2: a mistake every now and then.
- 1:11Speaker 1: The trick, what it is, y'all, is not to let.
- 1:14Speaker 2: The devil deceive you into thinking that once you make
- 1:17Speaker 2: that mistake that that's it. You can't do it. You're
- 1:20Speaker 2: falling off the wagon. You can't reboard it. That's the
- 1:24Speaker 2: biggest trick that he uses. He makes you think that
- 1:28Speaker 2: if you keep stumbling, that you can't run the race.
- 1:34Speaker 2: It kind of reminds me of a marathon runner. From
- 1:38Speaker 2: time to time, I watch them on TV, and you'll
- 1:41Speaker 2: see some people who finish the race, you know, in
- 1:47Speaker 2: a nice pace. You see people finish the race sprinting
- 1:52Speaker 2: towards the finished line. But every now and then you'll
- 1:55Speaker 2: watch a marathon and you'll see a runner and is
- 2:00Speaker 2: in really, really bad shape.
- 2:04Speaker 1: The key is they finish the race.
- 2:08Speaker 2: See, you don't get disqualified in the marathon because you stumble,
- 2:15Speaker 2: You don't.
- 2:16Speaker 1: They don't.
- 2:16Speaker 2: They don't take your opportunity to finish the race because
- 2:21Speaker 2: you keep falling.
- 2:23Speaker 1: That's not the key. The key is finishing.
- 2:27Speaker 2: And a lot of times what the devil does is
- 2:29Speaker 2: he makes you think that because you keep stumbling, because
- 2:33Speaker 2: you're swaying from side to side, that you know you
- 2:37Speaker 2: out the race. Well, that's not the case. And see
- 2:41Speaker 2: and then this thing called life, let me help you
- 2:43Speaker 2: understand something. Everybody falls. Nobody sprints to the tape in
- 2:47Speaker 2: this one. Nobody just runs free and clear. That has
- 2:51Speaker 2: some people running faster than you and all like this,
- 2:54Speaker 2: and some people gonna get to the end before you
- 2:56Speaker 2: let them go ahead. And when the end come, the
- 2:59Speaker 2: end come. I ain't in the rush you get to
- 3:00Speaker 2: the end. But in this race, though, when you're stumbling
- 3:04Speaker 2: and you're falling, it's a part of it. No one
- 3:08Speaker 2: gets through this race without stumbling and falling, swaying from
- 3:11Speaker 2: side to side. So don't let the enemy deceive you
- 3:15Speaker 2: in the thinking that it's over. I try to be
- 3:20Speaker 2: encouraging to people because I don't want people to get
- 3:24Speaker 2: stuck on this thing, you know. And my walk is
- 3:27Speaker 2: very different from a lot of people's walks. And then
- 3:29Speaker 2: I know a lot of people who walking in faith
- 3:31Speaker 2: the way I'm walking in faith. But my thing in
- 3:34Speaker 2: the morning is just to remind those that is not
- 3:37Speaker 2: a perfect walk man, that it's not something that's set
- 3:41Speaker 2: up where you're gonna be skipping through life scott free
- 3:45Speaker 2: without any pitfalls. You know. I keep saying it over
- 3:48Speaker 2: and over and over again, because, like I said, when
- 3:50Speaker 2: I was in DC, my boy Hondo said this to me,
- 3:55Speaker 2: and it just kind of stuck with me that the
- 3:56Speaker 2: road to construct the road to successes all under construction.
- 4:01Speaker 2: You have to figure and count on the setbacks and
- 4:05Speaker 2: the pitfalls. But it's those people that that are that
- 4:09Speaker 2: that are that fight through will be the victors in
- 4:12Speaker 2: the end. You cannot give up, man, Stop going somewhere
- 4:16Speaker 2: and sitting down every time something goes down. It's going
- 4:21Speaker 2: to go down. It's a part of it. It's going
- 4:24Speaker 2: to happen. It's going to occur that are going to
- 4:28Speaker 2: be setbacks. If you go and sit down every time
- 4:31Speaker 2: there's a setback, that's.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Not how this works. It is designed that way.
- 4:37Speaker 2: If success were easy, everybody would be successful. But success
- 4:44Speaker 2: is just reserved for those who are willing to fight through,
- 4:47Speaker 2: who refuse to settle for mediocrity, who wants something more. Now,
- 4:53Speaker 2: don't get me wrong. Success is defined by each individual.
- 4:58Speaker 2: So what I may consider to be success sful. You
- 5:00Speaker 2: may not consider that. You know what Bill Gates considered successful.
- 5:05Speaker 2: I might not consider what Michael Jordan considered successful. I
- 5:09Speaker 2: might not consider what you consider successful. Your boss might
- 5:13Speaker 2: not consider. You have to define what that is for yourself.
- 5:17Speaker 2: It may not be monetary at all. You know, your
- 5:21Speaker 2: level of success could be tied up in community service
- 5:24Speaker 2: It could be tied up in family, It could be
- 5:27Speaker 2: tied up in the church. Your level of success could
- 5:30Speaker 2: be tied up into boys clubs, It could be any
- 5:33Speaker 2: number of things. Whatever your level of success is, you
- 5:38Speaker 2: have to determine what that is you and the best
- 5:40Speaker 2: way to determine that is to get in touch with
- 5:44Speaker 2: your maker, who created you, to find out what your
- 5:48Speaker 2: mission and your purpose is so he can put you
- 5:51Speaker 2: on track. I just had this conversation with my son
- 5:55Speaker 2: and we were talking about getting on the path that
- 5:59Speaker 2: God has set up for you. So many times we
- 6:02Speaker 2: find ourselves fighting through life because of so much uncertainty,
- 6:07Speaker 2: because we have no idea where we're headed. It's like
- 6:12Speaker 2: one of my sayings that I have at my mentoring
- 6:16Speaker 2: camp for boys is is that a boy without a
- 6:21Speaker 2: male role model is like an explorer without a map.
- 6:26Speaker 2: See if you don't have a map laid out in
- 6:31Speaker 2: front of you of where you're going when you wake
- 6:34Speaker 2: up every day, that pretty much explains the feeling of confusion,
- 6:41Speaker 2: the laxadaisical attitude, the lack of purpose, to not understanding
- 6:47Speaker 2: your mission because you don't have not gotten in touch
- 6:52Speaker 2: with your creator to find out exactly what your path
- 6:56Speaker 2: in life is what are you supposed to be doing?
- 7:00Speaker 2: The moment you can identify that is the moment that
- 7:03Speaker 2: you get started waking up with purpose, with the sense
- 7:07Speaker 2: of direction. When you kill the sense of I don't
- 7:11Speaker 2: know what's next or what to do. Now, there's gonna
- 7:13Speaker 2: be some confusing moments no matter what happened, it's gonna
- 7:16Speaker 2: be some uncertainty, but at least you'll know where you're going.
- 7:20Speaker 2: So if you're tied a waking up feeling loss, abandon, confuse,
- 7:25Speaker 2: don't know what to do, don't know what you're supposed
- 7:28Speaker 2: to be doing, refer back to your maker because when
- 7:33Speaker 2: he created you, he had a plan for you.
- 7:36Speaker 1: When he created you, he had a path for you.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Now we've made some decisions to get off of both
- 7:42Speaker 2: of those, the mission and the path. But God can
- 7:46Speaker 2: get you right back on track. Do that today, Ask
- 7:51Speaker 2: him what you're supposed to be doing, and listen. God
- 7:55Speaker 2: has all the answers if you form the relationship.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Okay, listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show
