- 0:00Hi, I'm Stephanie Maas.
- 0:02Today I wanna talk to you about when the exception becomes the rule.
- 0:08My favorite example of this is the remote working employees have been very clear on what they want.
- 0:16One of the things that I hear often from my clients right now is that in the beginning, before the pandemic working remote, working from home.
- 0:26Was an exception.
- 0:27It was never the rule.
- 0:29The pandemic forced us to make it the rule.
- 0:33I mean, we had federal guidelines saying, Hey, you can't make people come in.
- 0:36You shouldn't.
- 0:37It's not safe.
- 0:38It became the rule.
- 0:40Now we have to go back and decide, is this the exception or is it the rule?
- 0:47People want to be able to do what makes the most sense for them.
- 0:53In fact, employees productivity skyrocketed.
- 0:57It was incredible and whatever that looks like for you and your company, it might be the rule now, but I do know what might become the rule today in three months, six months, a year from now might change and become the exception, and then it becomes the rule again, whatever you decide, go into it with a mentality of flexibility and grace.
- 1:19We'll figure it out somehow.
