- 0:48Speaker 1: Welcome to today's edition of Reflection on the Word with Richard K.
- 0:52Speaker 1: I'm Chuck Christie, and today we are asking you to
- 0:54Speaker 1: spend a few moments of your time with us each
- 0:57Speaker 1: day as Richard shares from God's work with notes, quotes,
- 1:00Speaker 1: and stories along with some of his own personal experiences,
- 1:03Speaker 1: to confirm for you God's great love for us, that
- 1:06Speaker 1: his compassion for us never fails, and that he has
- 1:08Speaker 1: a great faithfulness toward us in every regard. In Lamentations
- 1:12Speaker 1: Chapter three, verses twenty two and twenty three, we read,
- 1:16Speaker 1: because of the Lord's great love, we are not consumed,
- 1:20Speaker 1: for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Great is your faithfulness. Now, if you miss a portion
- 1:27Speaker 1: of today's broadcast or would like to recommend it to
- 1:29Speaker 1: a friend, you can hear this program anytime online at
- 1:33Speaker 1: Talknetwork Radio dot com. Well, now here's Richard with today's reflection.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Well, it is by grace God's remarkable compassion and favor
- 1:47Speaker 2: drawing you to crust, that you have been saved, actually
- 1:53Speaker 2: delivered from judgment and given the eternal life through faith.
- 1:59Speaker 2: And this salvation is not of yourselves, not through your
- 2:04Speaker 2: own effort, but it is the undeserved gracious gift of God,
- 2:10Speaker 2: not as a result of your works nor your attempts
- 2:13Speaker 2: to keep the law, so that no one will be
- 2:17Speaker 2: able to boast or take credit in any way for
- 2:21Speaker 2: his salvation. That is from Ephesians chapter two and verses
- 2:27Speaker 2: eight and nine from the Amplified Bible. As we continue
- 2:33Speaker 2: our series seven Keys to the Kingdom, we arrive at
- 2:38Speaker 2: the second key, which is to expect God's grace. As
- 2:45Speaker 2: we have read in Ephesians two, eight and nine, it
- 2:50Speaker 2: is by grace that we are able to be drawn
- 2:56Speaker 2: to Christ. Do you know that we do nothing to
- 3:01Speaker 2: earn the right to come to God. It is his
- 3:07Speaker 2: unmerited favor. In some cases we are more than sinners.
- 3:17Speaker 2: And yet while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Because of that work that was accomplished by our Savior
- 3:30Speaker 2: and Lord, we are able to not only expect God's grace,
- 3:37Speaker 2: but to extend God's grace. You see, learning the use
- 3:44Speaker 2: of the keys of the Kingdom has to do with
- 3:48Speaker 2: how we have had it applied in our own life.
- 3:53Speaker 2: To be able to offer someone grace must be as
- 3:59Speaker 2: a result of receiving grace ourselves.
- 4:04Speaker 3: How do we do that well?
- 4:07Speaker 2: One of the methods is to allow people to understand
- 4:13Speaker 2: that we are all sinners. Nobody is righteous, not even
- 4:20Speaker 2: one person, and yet because of God's unmerited favor is
- 4:30Speaker 2: grace is showered down upon us and we can come
- 4:37Speaker 2: to the knowledge of who his son actually is. Earlier
- 4:44Speaker 2: in our series, we talked about recognizing who Jesus is.
- 4:52Speaker 2: We don't recognize Jesus just because of what we've read,
- 4:58Speaker 2: and we certainly don't recognize him only.
- 5:02Speaker 3: Because of what others say about him.
- 5:06Speaker 2: But because of God's grace poured out upon us, we
- 5:13Speaker 2: are encouraged to exercise faith, not intellect, faith that allows
- 5:23Speaker 2: us to receive God's grace in forgiveness. Because of that,
- 5:33Speaker 2: we are able to use the key as we recognize
- 5:39Speaker 2: that we are no better than anyone else. It is
- 5:45Speaker 2: only because of God's grace. It is his compassion towards
- 5:52Speaker 2: us that gives us the ability to be compassionate for others.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Remember God's remarkable compassion and faith is what drew us
- 6:09Speaker 2: through Christ. It is through that means that we've been
- 6:14Speaker 2: delivered from judgment and given eternal life. We've been saved
- 6:22Speaker 2: through faith by God's graces. And remember this salvation is
- 6:32Speaker 2: not of ourselves. It's not through our effort, but it
- 6:37Speaker 2: is the undeserved gift of God. It's not a result
- 6:44Speaker 2: of our works or our attempts to keep the law
- 6:47Speaker 2: or to be good persons. It is only recognizing that
- 6:54Speaker 2: we are sinners in need of a savior, one who
- 7:02Speaker 2: can forgive us, one.
- 7:05Speaker 3: Who will provide grace in our.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Time of need, one who has made a way for
- 7:15Speaker 2: us to use the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven.
- 7:23Speaker 2: For it is by grace God's remarkable compassion and favor
- 7:29Speaker 2: drawing you to Christ, that you have been saved, actually
- 7:35Speaker 2: delivered and from judgment, and given eternal life through faith.
- 7:45Speaker 2: This salvation is not of yourselves, not through your own effort,
- 7:50Speaker 2: but it is the undeserved gracious gift of God, not
- 7:56Speaker 2: as a result of your works nor your attempts to
- 7:59Speaker 2: keep the law. So that no one will be able
- 8:04Speaker 2: to vote or take credit in any way for this salvation.
- 8:11Speaker 2: This scripture is the hinging one on the difference between
- 8:20Speaker 2: working into a place where God recognizes our goodness. We
- 8:27Speaker 2: can never be good enough, we can never be righteous enough,
- 8:35Speaker 2: we can never be learned enough. It is only by
- 8:42Speaker 2: His grace so The second key in the Keys of
- 8:48Speaker 2: the Kingdom is to expect God's graps.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Richard will be right back in a moment to wrap up.
- 8:58Speaker 1: But if you've just joined us, you've been listening to
- 9:00Speaker 1: Reflections on the Word with Richard K. You can hear

- 9:23Speaker 1: which is published by Homan Bible Publishers in Nashville, Tennessee.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Additional resources used for Reflections on the Word with Richard
- 9:31Speaker 1: K include Great Is Thy Faithfulness by Our Daily Bread
- 9:35Speaker 1: and printed by Discovery House Publishers. Again, here is Richard
- 9:39Speaker 1: to wrap up today's.
- 9:40Speaker 4: Message, and we pray that each day we can extend
- 9:47Speaker 4: God's grace to those who are just like us center
- 9:54Speaker 4: in need of a safety.
- 9:57Speaker 2: As we look at the seven key, we begin to
- 10:01Speaker 2: understand when we recognize the holiness of God, we are
- 10:08Speaker 2: so undeserving to stand in his presence, but because of
- 10:15Speaker 2: his grace his unmerited favor. We are able to be
- 10:20Speaker 2: drawn to a savior who is Christ, the Lord. We
- 10:28Speaker 2: are able to receive our salvation not because we earned
- 10:34Speaker 2: it or because we work for it, but because God
- 10:41Speaker 2: loves us enough to give his son to die in
- 10:48Speaker 2: our place. That gives us a means of not only
- 10:54Speaker 2: expecting God's ruths, but extending it.
- 11:00Speaker 3: And that is today's Reflections on the Word.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Thank you, Richard. Join us again tomorrow when we continue
- 11:10Speaker 1: with the next edition of Reflections on the Word with
