Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: This is seven tar where the marks among show starts.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Now, well it's Friday. It's been a miserable week. It's
- 0:14Speaker 2: this weather, it's the cold. It just gets to you
- 0:16Speaker 2: after a while. Although I will say one thing. They
- 0:18Speaker 2: have picked up the garbage all over midtown Manhattan. The
- 0:21Speaker 2: garbage is gone. Half the snow is still there. There's
- 0:25Speaker 2: a couple of snowbanks, real high ones, but most of
- 0:29Speaker 2: them going away. Now. Tomorrow tonight there could be a
- 0:33Speaker 2: little snow overnight, nothing serious. Should be an inch or
- 0:37Speaker 2: less tomorrow and tomorrow night the coldest day of the
- 0:43Speaker 2: year in some of the suburbs. It'll be like the
- 0:47Speaker 2: minus twenty real feel. But it's going to be very,
- 0:51Speaker 2: very very cold this weekend. This is that global warming
- 0:54Speaker 2: that you heard about, those glaciers melting, all that kind
- 0:57Speaker 2: of stuff. So we got a lot to get to.
- 1:00Speaker 2: We'll get to the latest down, the Guthrie kidnapping. We'll
- 1:03Speaker 2: get to the shutdown. We'll get to the super Bowl.
- 1:06Speaker 2: We'll get to a crazy mom, Donnie. We'll get to
- 1:09Speaker 2: a Kamala making a fool out of herself. We'll get
- 1:12Speaker 2: to we'll get to Johnny Carson coming up. If you
- 1:14Speaker 2: think of a plastic surgery. We'll get to that coming up.
- 1:17Speaker 2: A couple of things developing a New Jersey. There's a
- 1:20Speaker 2: special election eleventh Congressional district. The results not definite yet,
- 1:26Speaker 2: they're still counting. It's New Jersey, and there is of
- 1:30Speaker 2: course a kookie, left wing, woke candidate who looks like
- 1:34Speaker 2: they have a very very slight lead.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Hey.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Also, this was just announced they have arrested the leader
- 1:44Speaker 2: of the ben Ghazi attack. You remember the ben Ghazi
- 1:47Speaker 2: attack from years ago. Remember Hillary Clinton, Secretary of State,
- 1:51Speaker 2: her disastrous testimony about why she wasn't able to prevent
- 1:55Speaker 2: them ben Ghazi attack, why she left those people in
- 1:58Speaker 2: harm's way. Well, they found the leader of the Benghazi attack.
- 2:01Speaker 2: They've just announced the arrest moments ago. The Savannah Guthrie
- 2:07Speaker 2: kidnapping her mother. They're now convinced it with multiple people
- 2:14Speaker 2: they think would have to be to carry this out.
- 2:17Speaker 2: They are no evidence, solid evidence, but they believe it
- 2:22Speaker 2: was targeted, that it wasn't just random that they went
- 2:27Speaker 2: after Savannah got to his mother for whatever reason, maybe
- 2:30Speaker 2: thinking there'd be a lot of money there. But now
- 2:35Speaker 2: here's Paul Morrow, the great expert on all this stuff.
- 2:39Speaker 4: History shows usually it's more than one, because you need
- 2:43Speaker 4: other people not for the extraction here, not for the
- 2:46Speaker 4: horrible abduction, but to handle the logistics of secreting her someplace. Again,
- 2:53Speaker 4: historic examples show you need more than one person. Somebody
- 2:56Speaker 4: has to watch her, somebody goes gets food, and you
- 2:59Speaker 4: have to communicate at some point. Are they going to
- 3:01Speaker 4: want to communicate? Well, and I got to pick up
- 3:02Speaker 4: your phone and communicate right from where you are. I'm
- 3:05Speaker 4: sure they have all kinds of things they're trying to
- 3:06Speaker 4: work through.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Yeah, some pretty good points. Now, supposedly they have what
- 3:10Speaker 2: they believe is the real ransom demand. There were phony
- 3:14Speaker 2: ones coming in left and right. In fact, one of
- 3:16Speaker 2: the phony ransom demands, they were able to trace the
- 3:19Speaker 2: guy down. It's Derek Kalalela. They have arrested him. It
- 3:23Speaker 2: was an imposter ransom note and he was demanding bitcoin.
- 3:29Speaker 2: They have arrested the guy. His charges will be two
- 3:33Speaker 2: counts of transmitting communication containing a demand or request for
- 3:37Speaker 2: ransom in exchange for the relief of a kidnapped person.
- 3:41Speaker 2: So the guy will spend a lot of time in jail.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Apparently he'd been following the case on TV. He thought
- 3:47Speaker 2: he could make some money and sent the text messages.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Somehow got a hold of the Guthrie's contact information. You know,
- 3:53Speaker 2: for a lot of people, if you go online, you
- 3:55Speaker 2: can find their address, you can find their phone numbers.
- 3:58Speaker 2: So just transmit. Even if it's a fake ransom note,
- 4:01Speaker 2: very serious crime. This guy will do some serious jail
- 4:04Speaker 2: time now according to the police, well actually it's actually tmzquot.
- 4:12Speaker 2: The law enforcement has not officially released this, but according
- 4:15Speaker 2: to the TMZ and their sources, the demands in the
- 4:19Speaker 2: ransom note have deadlines and they missed one deadline already,
- 4:23Speaker 2: and the ransom note said there be consequences. Then there's
- 4:25Speaker 2: a second demand for Monday, and if that's not meant,
- 4:30Speaker 2: it said serious consequences. So they're demanding millions and millions
- 4:36Speaker 2: of dollars in bitcoin in crypto. I don't know if
- 4:40Speaker 2: it's bitcoin. But the family now putting out videos. They
- 4:45Speaker 2: haven't spoken to anybody. They're just getting these demands. And
- 4:50Speaker 2: here's I think this is the brother.
- 4:52Speaker 5: Whoever is out there holding our mother. We want to
- 4:55Speaker 5: hear from you. We haven't heard anything directly. We need
- 4:59Speaker 5: you to reach out and we need a way to
- 5:01Speaker 5: communicate with you so we can move forward.
- 5:04Speaker 2: I mean, I understand, you can't just transfer the money
- 5:06Speaker 2: into crypto without knowing something.
- 5:09Speaker 5: We need you to reach out and we need a
- 5:11Speaker 5: way to communicate with you so we can move forward.
- 5:14Speaker 6: The family needs proof of life. They need to know
- 5:16Speaker 6: that this person is still alive, because there are people
- 5:20Speaker 6: who will commit fraud and simply ask for money. You
- 5:23Speaker 6: transfer money and that person disappears.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Yeah, so police believe it's targeted. Also, they're actually this
- 5:30Speaker 2: location is very close, like fifteen miles for the Mexican border.
- 5:34Speaker 2: They're worried that they went over the border. That's another possibility.
- 5:38Speaker 2: You now, you know she had those security camp she
- 5:41Speaker 2: had those ring cameras, that stuff. But but the big
- 5:46Speaker 2: problem is she didn't pay for the subscription. Apparently you
- 5:50Speaker 2: have to have a subscription for all the video to
- 5:52Speaker 2: be stored on a server. So the video is not saved.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Because of no subscription, they don't have any video. Otherwise
- 6:01Speaker 2: they would have had video, they would have been able
- 6:02Speaker 2: to see something. The doorbell camera disconnected around one am.
- 6:09Speaker 2: It's possible the kidnappers knew how to disconnect it to
- 6:14Speaker 2: twelve am. The software detected a person on the camera,
- 6:17Speaker 2: but again no video. She didn't maintain a subscription. Terrible.
- 6:22Speaker 2: So we'll see this is not going to end. I
- 6:25Speaker 2: just don't think this is going to end well. So
- 6:29Speaker 2: now they're working on a deal for the shutdown. Looks
- 6:33Speaker 2: like Chuck Schumer is trying to make a deal now.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Apparently Trump and Schumer are talking all the time. They're
- 6:41Speaker 2: negotiating and negotiating and negotiating. And one thing Trump asked for.
- 6:48Speaker 2: They want the federal funding for Penn Station, the Gateway thing,
- 6:53Speaker 2: all the federal funding for our big infrastructure plans here.
- 6:57Speaker 2: And Trump asked, since he's going to spare and the
- 7:00Speaker 2: billions to redo Penn Station, that he would like it
- 7:04Speaker 2: renamed Trump Station. Same thing with the Dulles Airport, that's
- 7:10Speaker 2: the major airport outside of Washington, d C. Reagan National
- 7:13Speaker 2: is like the LaGuardia of Washington DC. Dulles is like
- 7:17Speaker 2: the Kennedy Airport of Washington, d C. He'd like it
- 7:21Speaker 2: renamed Trump International Airport. And I think it's a good idea.
- 7:26Speaker 2: It should be Trump Station instead of Penn Station. I
- 7:28Speaker 2: think it would be perfect. It would make every liberal,
- 7:31Speaker 2: every Democrat sick every time they had to ticket train.
- 7:35Speaker 2: It's going to be right on the train ticket. Every
- 7:38Speaker 2: time they look at anything to get the train schedule,
- 7:40Speaker 2: it'll say Trump Station, just to annoy them forever. I
- 7:44Speaker 2: think we should do it. Now here's the problem. You
- 7:46Speaker 2: know that as as soon as Democrats get back in power,
- 7:49Speaker 2: they'll Yankees name right off all of this stuff. But
- 7:53Speaker 2: you know, we do name things after presidents. Kennedy Airport
- 7:58Speaker 2: obviously after the assassination, Reagan Airport, just as a tribute
- 8:02Speaker 2: to a guy who'd done a great job. Well, Trump
- 8:04Speaker 2: has done a great job, so he should have an airport.
- 8:08Speaker 2: He really should. And I remember he's got three more
- 8:10Speaker 2: years once he gets done with the ballroom, and then
- 8:14Speaker 2: once he gets done rebuilding the Kennedy Center. Don't be
- 8:17Speaker 2: surprised if in the final year he decides to build
- 8:20Speaker 2: himself a a monument. You got Washington Monument, You got
- 8:23Speaker 2: the Lincoln Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial. Yeah, yeah, that'll beg again.
- 8:30Speaker 2: There's so many liberals driving around Washington, DC, so many
- 8:33Speaker 2: Democrats for them to have to pass by the Trump
- 8:37Speaker 2: Memorial every day on the way to work, it'd be
- 8:39Speaker 2: great just to make them miserable. But Schumer, now this
- 8:45Speaker 2: idea that Trump wants the train station named after from
- 8:47Speaker 2: the airport. Schumer leaked that out to the press. That's
- 8:51Speaker 2: why we all know about this. Schumer leaked it out,
- 8:53Speaker 2: and a in an attempt to stop it, and b
- 8:56Speaker 2: to take credit Schumer leaking it out and then saying
- 8:59Speaker 2: he turned down. He said no, Schumer trying to look
- 9:01Speaker 2: like a hero since he's an old dinosaur that everybody hates. Now,
- 9:07Speaker 2: so the fact that he leaked it out, that's not
- 9:09Speaker 2: going to sit well with President Trump. But again, they're
- 9:11Speaker 2: going to negotiate something. They'll probably kick the can down
- 9:15Speaker 2: the road, do another extension before a shutdown, so I
- 9:20Speaker 2: figure that'll happen over the weekend. Hey, Kamala Harris embarrassing
- 9:25Speaker 2: the hell out of herself. Apparently she really is thinking
- 9:29Speaker 2: a running again. Could you imagine that? And set up
- 9:33Speaker 2: a website all kinds of stuff. But but you know,
- 9:38Speaker 2: this old Kamala Harris, who's a little out of touch,
- 9:42Speaker 2: hasn't worked in a while, and even she was vice president,
- 9:45Speaker 2: didn't do any work. Trying to sound like she's gen
- 9:48Speaker 2: Z or something when she's actually an old fossil too.
- 9:52Speaker 2: So she put all this gen Z lingo into this
- 9:54Speaker 2: new video she put out with her new Twitter account,
- 9:57Speaker 2: it's headquarters sixty seven, because sixty seven it's what all
- 10:02Speaker 2: the kids use. It's the gen Z slang sixty seven.
- 10:08Speaker 2: I don't think anybody told her, yeah, that's over with.
- 10:10Speaker 2: That was like eight months ago. They've done with that.
- 10:12Speaker 2: So even on CNN, they're even on CNN they're ridiculing
- 10:17Speaker 2: Kamala Harris saying the whole video was cringe worthy.
- 10:20Speaker 7: By the way, the handle they're using you can see there,
- 10:23Speaker 7: we're zooming in on it at headquarters underscore six to
- 10:26Speaker 7: seven six seven. As the kids used to say, well,
- 10:32Speaker 7: you know, used to say a lot of things, and
- 10:34Speaker 7: I think they also used to say, that's probably cringe.
- 10:38Speaker 2: Yeah. So see, Kamala believes that she's like the young hip,
- 10:42Speaker 2: she's the AOC and not realizing she's the old, old old.
- 10:47Speaker 2: She looks like Dianne Feinstein. Everybody's an old California senator.
- 10:51Speaker 2: So figure she's got no shot at anything. In two
- 10:54Speaker 2: thousand and eight, President Trump a big thing, you say,
- 10:58Speaker 2: lowering drug prices all over the place. This is something
- 11:01Speaker 2: Democrats always claimed with the biggest, most important issue. But
- 11:05Speaker 2: now that he's doing it, they go totally silent. They
- 11:08Speaker 2: don't say a word.
- 11:09Speaker 8: Dozens of the most commonly used prescription drugs will be
- 11:13Speaker 8: available at dramatic discounts for all consumers throughout a new website.
- 11:19Speaker 9: It's called trump rx dot go.
- 11:22Speaker 2: Yeah, even ozempic. You know, Ozempic's very expensive. You want
- 11:26Speaker 2: to get on that ozempic. It's like one thousand dollars
- 11:28Speaker 2: a week or something, but that'll come down.
- 11:30Speaker 9: Novo Nordesk will be slashing the price, as an example
- 11:34Speaker 9: of ozempic from more than one thousand dollars to one
- 11:39Speaker 9: hundred and ninety nine dollars.
- 11:41Speaker 2: Yeah. Hey, I'll save you a lot of money. Zempic again,
- 11:46Speaker 2: it's like one thousand dollars a shot. Insurance covers it,
- 11:49Speaker 2: but not all of them. You hear that cough I got,
- 11:52Speaker 2: I had it for a couple of weeks, So for
- 11:54Speaker 2: a couple of days I took mucinex and one of
- 11:57Speaker 2: the side effects it makes you a little nauseous, but
- 12:00Speaker 2: you lose your appetite, So you take it for a
- 12:03Speaker 2: couple of days, you got no appetite. I actually lost weight.
- 12:05Speaker 2: So forget the ozampic thousand dollars a shot. You get
- 12:08Speaker 2: some musin X for twelve Bucks, and it has the
- 12:10Speaker 2: same effect. In fact, there's a lot of medicine. Look
- 12:13Speaker 2: on any medicine that sees may cause nausea something, just
- 12:17Speaker 2: take a low dose of it for a while. That
- 12:18Speaker 2: might much cheaper. It's like free ozempic Hey. Super Bowl
- 12:22Speaker 2: this Sunday. Yeah, that's gonna be great. Everybody. Uh, some
- 12:26Speaker 2: people happy, some people very upset about Bad Bunny. I don't.
- 12:30Speaker 2: To me, it doesn't make any difference. Who pays that
- 12:32Speaker 2: much attention to the halftime show Bad Bunny? Well, here
- 12:36Speaker 2: he is.
- 12:37Speaker 10: Everyone who's stopped me on the street or wherever I go,
- 12:40Speaker 10: they only wish like good themes on me. And I
- 12:44Speaker 10: know that there is going to be happy at these
- 12:47Speaker 10: Sunday and they're gonna have fun, and they're gonna dance
- 12:50Speaker 10: and they're gonna have a good time.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Yeah. No, See he's a young guy. He's a little confused.
- 12:55Speaker 2: Everyone who's stopped me on the street, everyone comes up
- 12:58Speaker 2: to me, they love the show. Well, I get stopped
- 13:02Speaker 2: a lot on the street or wherever, and everybody loves
- 13:06Speaker 2: the show. But see, I realize that's the only people
- 13:09Speaker 2: that come up to you. The people that don't like
- 13:10Speaker 2: this show or can't stand you, they don't come up
- 13:12Speaker 2: to you. So you got to remember. People that hate
- 13:15Speaker 2: you just look at you and they keep walking. The
- 13:18Speaker 2: only people will come up to you are the fans.
- 13:20Speaker 2: So don't go. It's not a good barometer, it's not
- 13:23Speaker 2: a good test. Hey, today we have a new cardinal.
- 13:27Speaker 2: This is his first day. His name is Ronald Hicks,
- 13:31Speaker 2: Cardinal Dolan, who we love. Maybe the greatest cardinal of
- 13:34Speaker 2: our lifetime, I would say so, and a guy I
- 13:37Speaker 2: know well, and just an inspirational, magical figure. You know,
- 13:42Speaker 2: he's going to stay in New York. Cardinal Dolney said,
- 13:44Speaker 2: he will remain in New York, so he'll be around
- 13:47Speaker 2: doing things. But this Ronald Hicks takes over at Saint Patrick's,
- 13:50Speaker 2: and I'm not that crazy about him. He's a like
- 13:54Speaker 2: the Pope. He's like a left wing, woke cardinal. Not
- 13:57Speaker 2: what we're looking for here he is.
- 13:59Speaker 11: You're going to notice that I will reference the number
- 14:02Speaker 11: of time Pope Leo the fourteenth. I will strive always
- 14:07Speaker 11: to be obedient and respectful to him and also collaborate
- 14:12Speaker 11: with his vision.
- 14:13Speaker 2: You'll also notice that Cardinal Dolan has this big, booming, happy, inspiring,
- 14:19Speaker 2: joyful voice and this guy saying this guy doesn't sound
- 14:23Speaker 2: the same. What I'd like to do.
- 14:25Speaker 12: As the archbishop here is understand that in politics, in government,
- 14:30Speaker 12: they're going to be things that we disagree on. There are,
- 14:34Speaker 12: but I'd also like to make sure we pay attention
- 14:37Speaker 12: to what are those things that we can work together
- 14:38Speaker 12: for the common good?
- 14:40Speaker 2: Yeah, again, doesn't sound great. Way too. We're gonna miss
- 14:44Speaker 2: really miss Cardinal Dolan's his birthday today too, Cardinal Dolan.
- 14:48Speaker 2: But as I say, he'll be around New York, so
- 14:51Speaker 2: he's not leaving. Hey, we got a lot to get to.
- 14:55Speaker 2: We'll take some calls. Next. Eight hundred three two one
- 14:58Speaker 2: zero seven ten is the number eight hundred three two
- 15:02Speaker 2: one zero seven ten in.
- 15:06Speaker 1: Mark on Demand by setting a presead for his podcast
- 15:09Speaker 1: on the iHeartRadio app. Now back to Mark Zimon on WR.
- 15:18Speaker 2: Okay, there's a lot of open lines. We never have
- 15:20Speaker 2: open lines. Call us eight hundred three two one zero
- 15:24Speaker 2: seven ten. It's the number eight hundred three two one
- 15:29Speaker 2: zero seven ten. Let's go to Robert in Westchester. Robert,
- 15:32Speaker 2: How you doing all right?
- 15:35Speaker 3: Mark? And good morning to you. Thank you for taking
- 15:36Speaker 3: my call.
- 15:37Speaker 13: Mark.
- 15:37Speaker 3: I don't know if you saw the news yesterday about
- 15:41Speaker 3: the second biological lab that they found right out of
- 15:45Speaker 3: Las Vegas, Nevada. And then another Chinese national that was
- 15:50Speaker 3: driving a semi he was too impatient to wait on
- 15:53Speaker 3: the side of the road where he was he went
- 15:55Speaker 3: over to the other lane, the oncoming traffic and slammed
- 15:59Speaker 3: into a van. For people, those people in our country
- 16:03Speaker 3: that continuously vote Democratic or promote to vote Democratic, have
- 16:08Speaker 3: they all forgotten what we went through and now what's
- 16:11Speaker 3: occurring in our nation that's putting everyone's life in jeopardy.
- 16:16Speaker 3: And on a good note that, I just want to say,
- 16:18Speaker 3: I totally agree with you. I am going to so
- 16:20Speaker 3: miss Cardinal Dolan. God bless that man.
- 16:22Speaker 2: Yeah, we love Cardinal Dolan. Today's final day, but again
- 16:26Speaker 2: he's going to remain in New York. Who is before
- 16:30Speaker 2: Cardinal Dolan, Cardinal Egan it wasn't crazy about him either,
- 16:35Speaker 2: and then before that Cardinal O'Connor, who was another incredible cardinal, beloved,
- 16:42Speaker 2: great great cardinal. Let's go to John Gosh in New York.
- 16:46Speaker 14: John, how you doing, Hey, Mark, good morning, great big fan.
- 16:50Speaker 2: Thanks.
- 16:51Speaker 14: I just want to ask you a question you were
- 16:53Speaker 14: talking about recently, how things can change the format and
- 16:57Speaker 14: the customers aren't happy. I always wanted to ask you,
- 17:00Speaker 14: why did CBSF FM in two thousand and five go
- 17:03Speaker 14: to that Jack FM? It was to me it was
- 17:05Speaker 14: the biggest fail. They lost all their iconic DJs. Do
- 17:08Speaker 14: you know the backstory on that?
- 17:10Speaker 2: Yeah, you get these sometimes these programming guys who they
- 17:13Speaker 2: looking like Atlanta and this Jack FM is doing great
- 17:18Speaker 2: in Atlanta, and they think it'll work here. And it
- 17:21Speaker 2: happens all the time with Cracker Barrel or wherever. It's
- 17:24Speaker 2: just wrong. And if you'll recall, everybody stopped listening to
- 17:28Speaker 2: cbs FM, they stopped playing oldies, and then I started
- 17:33Speaker 2: the Saturday night oldies show remember on the other station
- 17:37Speaker 2: for a few years. Now. The problem is CBSFM a
- 17:40Speaker 2: few years later caved in. They went back to playing oldies.
- 17:44Speaker 2: Only it wasn't oldies. It was like eighties and nineties.
- 17:47Speaker 2: But if you think about it, when you were first
- 17:50Speaker 2: listening to these oldies, it was from twenty years ago,
- 17:52Speaker 2: twenty five years ago, and if you went back twenty
- 17:55Speaker 2: five years now, that's two thousand and one, eighties and
- 18:00Speaker 2: nineties or oldies, but it was something about the sixties, fifties, sixties, seventies,
- 18:04Speaker 2: it was a different kind of music. It was more melodic.
- 18:06Speaker 2: Once the eighties came along, it was a whole different
- 18:09Speaker 2: type of music. It doesn't it's not the same as oldiest.
- 18:13Speaker 2: Let's go to Mike and Florida. Mike, how you doing,
- 18:16Speaker 2: good morning, Mark.
- 18:17Speaker 13: Yes, Mike, Let's ask you a very similar question. So
- 18:20Speaker 13: you were mentioning that you had booked at PIHFM back
- 18:23Speaker 13: in the day and now it's w UFA N. So
- 18:26Speaker 13: when these stations change format, is there a protocol for
- 18:30Speaker 13: you guys? You know, would you like to stay and
- 18:33Speaker 13: do sports or you're out on your rear end?
- 18:35Speaker 15: And how does it?
- 18:36Speaker 14: How do you adjust and how do you you know, well.
- 18:38Speaker 2: You're usually out on your rear end. Depends how good
- 18:41Speaker 2: you are behind the scenes politically maneuvering business. It's like
- 18:44Speaker 2: that in any company. You know, you go in and
- 18:46Speaker 2: talk to them. If you convince them that you can
- 18:48Speaker 2: do sports, and I got a big background sports, I'm
- 18:50Speaker 2: a huge sports they'll they'll stick with you. It can happen,
- 18:54Speaker 2: and sometimes people go and sometimes people stay.
- 18:57Speaker 13: That you know, there's guys stations, I'm sorry, how many
- 19:01Speaker 13: what and how many stations have you worked at over
- 19:04Speaker 13: the course of all these years that have changed formats
- 19:07Speaker 13: like that, it seems like a fairly popular business decisions.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Actually, w p I x FM, that was a pot
- 19:13Speaker 2: FM station we wanted, but we changed. We went through
- 19:15Speaker 2: several formats. I used to be there, Jim Kurr used
- 19:18Speaker 2: to be there.
- 19:19Speaker 13: Uh.
- 19:20Speaker 2: Then I w mc A no, that was the big
- 19:23Speaker 2: talk station at the time. Then I went to w ABC,
- 19:26Speaker 2: no is it wn w w A b C. And
- 19:29Speaker 2: then here that's not that many stations.
- 19:31Speaker 3: Wow, that's there.
- 19:33Speaker 2: Yeah, it's pretty good. All right, thanks for Colin. Let's
- 19:35Speaker 2: go to uh, Steve in Brooklyn. Steve, how you doing good?
- 19:40Speaker 15: How are you?
- 19:41Speaker 3: Thanks taking.
- 19:43Speaker 15: Let me ask you a question. If we hate the
- 19:46Speaker 15: fake news all the time, why do the Trump and
- 19:50Speaker 15: the plast Second, great questions from that nasty woman from CNN,
- 19:56Speaker 15: why talking to her?
- 19:58Speaker 2: Well, a, you have to take questions from all the
- 20:01Speaker 2: networks because it's just it's just it's just protocol. But
- 20:07Speaker 2: also they kind of enjoy it. They love they love
- 20:09Speaker 2: picking on her. They love she's like a pinata. They
- 20:12Speaker 2: love smacking her around. It's fun.
- 20:17Speaker 15: They go on, go on. Stephanopolos the show, and he's
- 20:21Speaker 15: the worst I don't get it.
- 20:22Speaker 2: Yeah, it's just fun. They enjoy it, they get a
- 20:24Speaker 2: kick out of it. It's good practice.
- 20:26Speaker 13: Uh.
- 20:26Speaker 2: I don't know why they called that George Stephanoppolos show.
- 20:28Speaker 2: He's only on like once every seven weeks. It's more
- 20:32Speaker 2: what's his name, Jonathan carl And who's that?
- 20:34Speaker 3: Uh?
- 20:35Speaker 2: That old hag Martha Raddits. They're on ninety two percent
- 20:39Speaker 2: of the time. They should be their show. Let's go
- 20:41Speaker 2: to Jack in North Carolina. Jack, how you doing, Hey.
- 20:45Speaker 16: Mark, good morning. I just wanted to make a comment.
- 20:48Speaker 16: Last year yesterday I was speaking or listening to you
- 20:52Speaker 16: about the economy, and I think one of the biggest
- 20:55Speaker 16: things that's still hurting America is the interest rates are
- 20:59Speaker 16: being so high. I'm a small business owner and I
- 21:03Speaker 16: work in the agricultural industry, talk with farmers all the time,
- 21:08Speaker 16: and they're hurting. And everybody, I think right now is
- 21:11Speaker 16: still being crippled by the interest rates. And so even
- 21:15Speaker 16: though Trump has put in all kinds of tax and
- 21:19Speaker 16: centers and so forth that are going to kick in
- 21:21Speaker 16: this year, it still hasn't trickle.
- 21:23Speaker 2: That's a good point. But the interest rates are coming down.
- 21:25Speaker 2: They'll come down when you get your new FED chairman
- 21:26Speaker 2: should be in about three months, or get lower interest rates.
- 21:30Speaker 16: And well we're hoping we can hang on that long.
- 21:32Speaker 2: You can hang on. You can do it. Thanks for calling. Hey.
- 21:36Speaker 2: You know we have listeners all over the country who
- 21:38Speaker 2: get calls from all over the country. But even if
- 21:40Speaker 2: I don't say where they're from, you can always tell.
- 21:42Speaker 2: You can always tell when they're not from New York
- 21:45Speaker 2: because when they go, Hi, how are you, They're happy?
- 21:48Speaker 2: Great to talk to you. You can always tell me
- 21:50Speaker 2: from New York. Hello. I just want to ask you
- 21:53Speaker 2: they all got that? Why do we all sound like
- 21:56Speaker 2: like we're miserable here? I don't know, We're happy, We're
- 21:59Speaker 2: happy here. Let's go to Chris and Beth Page. Chris,
- 22:01Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 22:04Speaker 15: And Mark?
- 22:04Speaker 14: I'll try to be upbeat even though I was born
- 22:06Speaker 14: in the Bronx.
- 22:07Speaker 2: You see what I mean? The guy from North Carolina?
- 22:09Speaker 1: Hi, how are you?
- 22:10Speaker 2: I'm glad to talk to you. Hello, how are you?
- 22:14Speaker 3: I know?
- 22:17Speaker 15: So Mark?
- 22:18Speaker 17: Two things quickly, where's Vincent?
- 22:21Speaker 14: I'm very worried?
- 22:22Speaker 3: Is okay?
- 22:23Speaker 2: No? I Unfortunately I heard Vincent is very mad at
- 22:27Speaker 2: me something I said. And the last call, Yeah, what
- 22:30Speaker 2: could I have said we love Vincent.
- 22:32Speaker 13: I know, okay, all right, if he's.
- 22:34Speaker 2: Listening, whatever it is, I apologize, But we never love Vincent.
- 22:39Speaker 2: We never do would do anything to hurt his feelings
- 22:41Speaker 2: or offend him. So if you know Vincent, yeah, well
- 22:45Speaker 2: we'll see if we don't fix this, what else say?
- 22:48Speaker 17: And number two is and Mark number two is I love.
- 22:52Speaker 17: I don't love this Savannah gut three story at all.
- 22:55Speaker 17: I don't love it. But what I love is the
- 22:58Speaker 17: fact that the me is going nuts because it's not
- 23:02Speaker 17: an anti Trump thing, and it's driving them nuts. It's
- 23:05Speaker 17: taking up to it's getting them away from the Epstein.
- 23:08Speaker 17: You can just see they're like, it's a bit.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Like yeah, but it's you know, such a tragic story.
- 23:12Speaker 2: It's kind of thing I know, I know anybody, But
- 23:15Speaker 2: you bring up a good point. What if it was
- 23:18Speaker 2: a Trump family member? Can you who knows what these
- 23:23Speaker 2: crazy democrats and fake news would do? Anyway? Hey, coming
- 23:27Speaker 2: up next, we'll talk to our friend doctor Arthur Perry.
- 23:29Speaker 2: He does the show here on Saturdays at six o'clock,
- 23:32Speaker 2: but he's at the top plastic surgeon and everybody always
- 23:35Speaker 2: has questions about plastic surgery, including me. There's also some
- 23:39Speaker 2: new stuff, new breakthrough. Well, we'll ask him about it.
- 23:43Speaker 2: We'll get to that next on seven to ten WOR.
- 23:46Speaker 13: You're listening to the Mark Simone show.
- 23:50Speaker 2: Wr hey with us right now, Doctor Arthur Perry. You
- 23:56Speaker 2: know he's on w o R every Saturday night at six.
- 23:59Speaker 2: He's one of the top plastic surgeons in the world.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Doctor Arthur Perry's website is Perryplasticsurgery dot com.
- 24:06Speaker 1: Right, that's what it is, Mark, And thanks for that intro.
- 24:10Speaker 1: That's what I told you to say.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Anyway, Well, you have a book out to what's the book?
- 24:14Speaker 1: Well, straight talk about cosmetic surgery. I've got a few
- 24:18Speaker 1: of those, but you can still get it on Amazon
- 24:21Speaker 1: dot com.
- 24:22Speaker 2: I hate he's in the studio as you hear. I
- 24:24Speaker 2: hate when he looks at me because he's a plastic surgeon.
- 24:26Speaker 2: They always look at you. I could fix that. Oh
- 24:28Speaker 2: that needs work. I gotta fix that.
- 24:30Speaker 1: Well, Mark, I didn't bring the bowtok okay, but you
- 24:33Speaker 1: know I did botox live on Larry Meant It a
- 24:36Speaker 1: couple of weeks ago, and Larry challenged you. He said,
- 24:39Speaker 1: if I can do it, Simone can do it.
- 24:42Speaker 2: I'm telling you, right, now I can't do it. I'm
- 24:44Speaker 2: not doing it. I don't like needles as traumatic just
- 24:47Speaker 2: to get a flu shot for me. I don't know
- 24:50Speaker 2: how these women come and do this like every month, right.
- 24:53Speaker 1: Well botox is about every three three four months or so.
- 24:55Speaker 2: Well, okay, but let's say it's long island every two weeks,
- 24:58Speaker 2: that's right.
- 24:59Speaker 1: Yeah, No, I I have patients that come every month
- 25:02Speaker 1: or two. They get, as Joan Rivers would say, the
- 25:04Speaker 1: little tweaks you know, we you know, just have to
- 25:08Speaker 1: keep you looking as good as possible, right.
- 25:10Speaker 2: Yeah, and boatox, like I get a little thing there
- 25:13Speaker 2: could get rid of that.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I'm looking right at oh Mark, it's not
- 25:16Speaker 1: time time, come on, you gotta do it.
- 25:21Speaker 2: But uh so I get this boatox. It fixes all that.
- 25:23Speaker 2: You look much younger. But but what's the side effect?
- 25:27Speaker 2: Very little?
- 25:28Speaker 1: You know, about five percent of people get a headache
- 25:30Speaker 1: for an hour or so. Sometimes you get a bruise.
- 25:32Speaker 1: But boatos is really good, it really is. I'm doing
- 25:36Speaker 1: you know the people clenched their teeth at night, right, yeah,
- 25:39Speaker 1: that massive muscle they so I'm injecting boatos into that too.
- 25:44Speaker 1: It reshapes the lower face now, really absolutely and that
- 25:48Speaker 1: lasts almost six months.
- 25:49Speaker 2: What if you have sleep apnea and you got to
- 25:51Speaker 2: like reposition your jaw a little coldn't do that?
- 25:53Speaker 1: No, it's not going to reposition your jab. No, you
- 25:56Speaker 1: still have to see the sleep doctor for the app there.
- 25:58Speaker 2: Hey, what's this? Keep hearing at this Frankenstein procedure in
- 26:01Speaker 2: plastic surgity? What is that? Mark? This is?
- 26:04Speaker 1: You know, I look at these things and this is unbelievable.
- 26:07Speaker 1: So how about this fat injected into your body? Sound
- 26:11Speaker 1: sounds good, right? But most people take their own fat,
- 26:14Speaker 1: so we do. We've been doing fat grafting. I've been
- 26:16Speaker 1: doing it since the nineteen eighties. You know, you take
- 26:18Speaker 1: a little from your your hips and you know, put
- 26:21Speaker 1: it in your nasal labial folds here or yeah, that's
- 26:25Speaker 1: that's okay. But now there's a company that's taking dead fat,
- 26:30Speaker 1: cadaver fat. Can you imagine? Listen to this scenario. You
- 26:35Speaker 1: you know, your family member dies and it's a it's
- 26:37Speaker 1: a solemn thing, and you say, well, we're gonna donate
- 26:40Speaker 1: the body to you know, the organ's, the kidney's heart,
- 26:44Speaker 1: everything can be used by other people. That's such a
- 26:46Speaker 1: wonderful thing to be able to do that. But you
- 26:49Speaker 1: know what happens to the fat? They sell it. They
- 26:52Speaker 1: sell it to these companies that process it. And now
- 26:56Speaker 1: there's this company that sells it to plastic surgeons and
- 27:00Speaker 1: they're injecting dead cadaver fat into you. I can't believe
- 27:05Speaker 1: my colleagues are doing this. I'll be honest. I looked
- 27:07Speaker 1: at this and this is really you wouldn't do it.
- 27:09Speaker 1: I will not do that. I you know, I think
- 27:13Speaker 1: there's so many issues. There's ethical issues, and just you know,
- 27:17Speaker 1: I don't like the idea of having a dead fat
- 27:20Speaker 1: in my body. You know, if you need a kidney, okay,
- 27:23Speaker 1: you need a kidney, but how about fat mark I
- 27:25Speaker 1: don't know.
- 27:26Speaker 2: So you have organ donors, then you could also if
- 27:28Speaker 2: you wanted to donate your fat to the Jentas of
- 27:31Speaker 2: the Upper east Side to be used.
- 27:32Speaker 1: In It's it's unbelievable. So what people are doing, they're
- 27:36Speaker 1: donating their entire body and they have no idea that
- 27:38Speaker 1: their fat is going to you know, some woman on
- 27:42Speaker 1: the Upper east Side who wants a larger buttocks. Can
- 27:44Speaker 1: you imagine that?
- 27:46Speaker 2: Really?
- 27:47Speaker 1: I don't know, so I'm not in on that one.
- 27:50Speaker 1: I call it the Frankenstein procedure because when you get
- 27:54Speaker 1: dead fat in your buttocks, you know, so all right,
- 27:57Speaker 1: to the credit of the company, you know, there's a
- 28:00Speaker 1: apparently no infectious diseases that can be transmitted, although although
- 28:04Speaker 1: mad cow disease we can't check for so whenever you
- 28:07Speaker 1: get someone else's tissue, there's always that small chance. But
- 28:12Speaker 1: they devitalize it. So it's really only a scaffold. It's
- 28:15Speaker 1: like a sponge. You know, there used to be live
- 28:17Speaker 1: animals and a sponge, right, the real sponges. Yeah, but
- 28:20Speaker 1: they kill those and you use those to clean your sink.
- 28:26Speaker 2: I would tighten my neck if I don't have the
- 28:28Speaker 2: nerve to do this. But you can do it, Mark, No,
- 28:30Speaker 2: I really you really can't. I really can. But what
- 28:32Speaker 2: these people keep telling you, Well, could just get laser?
- 28:34Speaker 2: What was all this laser stuff?
- 28:36Speaker 1: So lasers huge right now, it really is. And it's
- 28:38Speaker 1: a good time of the year because here we are
- 28:40Speaker 1: in the winter. You know, everybody, it's going to be
- 28:42Speaker 1: like four degrees this weekend in New York, right, So
- 28:46Speaker 1: the laser is a tool and it actually creates a
- 28:51Speaker 1: little injury. And you say, why would we want to
- 28:53Speaker 1: injure ourselves. Well, many of the things we use in
- 28:56Speaker 1: plastic surgery are controlled injuries. And the laser up the
- 29:00Speaker 1: tissue and when it does that, it shrinks it.
- 29:03Speaker 2: Right.
- 29:03Speaker 1: It's the bacon in the frying pan effect, right, you know,
- 29:05Speaker 1: you have this big piece of bacon and by the
- 29:08Speaker 1: time you eat it, those of you who eat the
- 29:10Speaker 1: bacon anyway, So it shrinks the tissue and it also
- 29:14Speaker 1: generates collagen. Collagen is the structural layer of the skin,
- 29:17Speaker 1: and it thins as we get older. Right, you lose
- 29:20Speaker 1: about one percent per year. So Mark, you're forty years old,
- 29:23Speaker 1: you've lost ten percent of your collagen so far. So
- 29:26Speaker 1: what the laser can do, that's a tool. And I
- 29:28Speaker 1: can set it like a light bulb. You know, you
- 29:31Speaker 1: can have a remember the twenty five waters and the
- 29:33Speaker 1: one hundred. Well they don't have those anymore. They do,
- 29:35Speaker 1: but you have to get the LEDs now. But you
- 29:39Speaker 1: can set the laser. I can make it so it
- 29:41Speaker 1: just exfoliates you. Or in the thirty year olds, I
- 29:45Speaker 1: might do just a very light laser around the earliest
- 29:49Speaker 1: wrinkles around the eyes. Right, But if you get to
- 29:51Speaker 1: be about seventy, you really need the full force of
- 29:54Speaker 1: that laser and I can if I want it, I
- 29:56Speaker 1: could remove the skin and go down to the bone
- 29:58Speaker 1: with the lazer. Oh yeah, So this laser drills little
- 30:01Speaker 1: tiny holes in the skin, and the new versions it's
- 30:04Speaker 1: called a fractionated laser, and so you don't lose your skin.
- 30:08Speaker 1: After the procedure, you look like, you know, you were
- 30:12Speaker 1: near Chernobyl for a little while, and your face looks
- 30:15Speaker 1: a little red, a little gray, and the next day
- 30:17Speaker 1: it looks terrible. You don't answer the door. If they
- 30:20Speaker 1: bring the pizza, you say, just leave it there, and
- 30:22Speaker 1: you know, I'll slide the money under the door because
- 30:24Speaker 1: you look absolutely terrible for about five, six, seven days.
- 30:28Speaker 1: But when the skin peels off like a sunburn, you
- 30:31Speaker 1: look great, really, and all the little brown spots peel
- 30:34Speaker 1: off and a lot of the wrinkles go away. And
- 30:37Speaker 1: the deeper I go, the more wrinkles go away. So
- 30:39Speaker 1: the lasers are really nice procedure. I'm doing a lot
- 30:42Speaker 1: of lasers this year.
- 30:43Speaker 2: And how often you have to do that, I'll lose
- 30:44Speaker 2: it left.
- 30:45Speaker 1: It depends on how deep we go. So if it's
- 30:46Speaker 1: a very superficial laser, it might be once a year,
- 30:49Speaker 1: But if it's the deep laser. I have patients that
- 30:52Speaker 1: look good for eighteen years. I think that's one of
- 30:55Speaker 1: my longest patients after the laser.
- 30:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:59Speaker 1: Yeah, so it's a very long lasting effect.
- 31:01Speaker 2: All right, well you can see doctor good. Go to
- 31:03Speaker 2: peryplastic Surgery dot com. That's the website, Peryplastic Surgery dot com.
- 31:10Speaker 2: All this ozimpic all over the place. People lose all
- 31:12Speaker 2: this weight ozempic. But then I look at their face
- 31:15Speaker 2: and it's kind of sinking, and you must have to
- 31:18Speaker 2: fix a lot of that.
- 31:19Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it's the the deflated face after ozempic. You know,
- 31:23Speaker 1: ozempic zebound. They are great drugs, they really are. Uh,
- 31:27Speaker 1: but you lose weight. And when the you lose weight rapidly,
- 31:31Speaker 1: you sag so in the neck, the breast sag, the
- 31:34Speaker 1: belly SAgs so, and the mark, the vulva okay, uh,
- 31:39Speaker 1: the lab you know, everywhere it SAgs. So you know,
- 31:43Speaker 1: we plump those areas up. We use we use fat,
- 31:46Speaker 1: but I use your fat, not some someone from a morgue. No, uh,
- 31:52Speaker 1: you know, I would use your own live fat or
- 31:54Speaker 1: better yet, just things like wrestling or jupiterim those are uh,
- 31:58Speaker 1: those are really good fillers. We plump up the cheeks,
- 32:01Speaker 1: plump up the lips, plump We have to do a
- 32:03Speaker 1: breast lift though, and a facelift and a tummy tuck
- 32:06Speaker 1: if you've really lost a lot of weight.
- 32:08Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, so you can plump up your lips. That
- 32:11Speaker 2: looks pretty good when it's done right.
- 32:12Speaker 1: But as long as it's done right, yeah, both ducks.
- 32:15Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 32:15Speaker 2: But you know, if you go to Florida, you'll see
- 32:19Speaker 2: a lot of they look like Goodyear tires those lips.
- 32:21Speaker 2: So you know something there.
- 32:24Speaker 1: You would think that a board certified plastic surgeon would
- 32:27Speaker 1: be doing those procedures, but there are nurses, there are dentists,
- 32:32Speaker 1: podia trists. It's incredible. Why did Willie Sutton rob banks Mark?
- 32:37Speaker 1: You know, you know, because that's where the money is
- 32:38Speaker 1: and why are all these people that are not trained
- 32:41Speaker 1: to do it doing it? Because there's a lot of
- 32:43Speaker 1: money in it, unfortunately, but you get what you pay
- 32:46Speaker 1: for and if you if you have an artist doing
- 32:48Speaker 1: your work, like a plastic surgeon, then you should look
- 32:52Speaker 1: pretty good. And if you have a house painter, I
- 32:56Speaker 1: don't know.
- 32:57Speaker 2: Yeah, that's why when you if you want botex, the
- 33:00Speaker 2: dentist can do it. The dermatologist, the hairdresser, but you
- 33:05Speaker 2: really need the expert plastic surgeon to know exactly where
- 33:08Speaker 2: to do it and how to do it right.
- 33:09Speaker 1: Well, you know, I think certainly there are dermatologists that
- 33:12Speaker 1: are very very good at this, and facial plastic surgeons.
- 33:14Speaker 1: They are odelaryngologists and plastic surgeons. Those are the ones
- 33:18Speaker 1: that are really the most appropriate. But the truth is,
- 33:23Speaker 1: you know, you see emergency room doctors they've decided they've
- 33:26Speaker 1: had enough with the pit and they're going to you know,
- 33:29Speaker 1: they're going to open up their place and hire a
- 33:33Speaker 1: few nurses and train them for maybe a couple hours.
- 33:36Speaker 1: Do you know, seriously, you can get certified in botox
- 33:40Speaker 1: in a two hour course with a half hour lunch break.
- 33:43Speaker 1: What it's not a real certification. It's just this diploma
- 33:46Speaker 1: on the wall. The shorter the course, the bigger the
- 33:49Speaker 1: diploma on the wall. It's really scary. It's the wild
- 33:52Speaker 1: West out there. You have to be very careful. Who
- 33:54Speaker 1: does your procedures?
- 33:55Speaker 2: All right, well, doctor Perry, thanks for coming in. Everybody,
- 33:58Speaker 2: you can listen to doctor Perry. He's on every Saturday
