- 0:09[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Jordan Deluga.
- 0:09[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you so much for being here.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: Thursday, July, third, last show.
- 0:13[SPEAKER_00]: Unless there's breaking news.
- 0:15[SPEAKER_00]: Before the holiday and happy holiday, happy Fourth of July, independent stay to everybody out there.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_00]: Hope we all enjoy it with family and friends.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_00]: I know we've got a lot of family and friends in town this week.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_00]: Got my buddy Josh's birthday tomorrow.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_00]: Big Fourth of July, slash birthday party.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_00]: So it's going to be a lot of fun.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_00]: But right now, we're taking a look at
- 0:37[SPEAKER_00]: ten players really that I think should be celebrated right we're celebrating the holiday tomorrow ten jag wars players that should be celebrated and it's a top ten list it is the top ten jag wars of twenty twenty five we're also gonna offer three players that could be based could be on this list based on talent
- 0:56[SPEAKER_00]: that are not currently on the list for various reasons that that very well could be on the list at some point during the twenty twenty five season.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_00]: But right now I've got my top ten Jaguars of twenty twenty five and honestly it's an impressive list.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_00]: One of the interesting things about this list is three of the Jaguars top ten players are special team specialists.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: That's definitely not comment around the league in my opinion and normally I would just
- 1:27[SPEAKER_00]: mentioned them and go through the rest of the list.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_00]: But they deserve to be priced.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_00]: They absolutely do.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_00]: And the Jaguars top ten players for me right now starting at number ten, Tyson Campbell, who really could be much higher on this list based on his talent.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_00]: Really the issue for him is he's been injured a lot the last couple years.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: But you've seen when he has a healthy season in this league, he can be one of the better corners in the league.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_00]: And it also helps when he's playing in primarily his own defense.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_00]: which is what they're going to be doing here in Jacksonville in twenty twenty five with anything can't be late leading the way.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: With when Tyson Campbell is able to have a vision on the quarterback and play the game that way he's in a much better spot.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_00]: Play for more often than playing in reverse and I think that Tyson Campbell has the opportunity to vote himself into.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_00]: You know, even like the top five of this list, but as of right now because of injuries the last couple years and up and down play and maybe a system last year that didn't really suit him or anyone that was in it.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_00]: It's hard to put him higher on this list right now and you will notice there's not a lot of defensive players on this list outside of
- 2:40[SPEAKER_00]: your big guys up front that obviously have been very good for the giant was actually let's see one two three four okay actually half of the the list is defensive players so I do think despite the issues last year.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_00]: that some of these guys were able to play at a high enough level where I very clearly value them in the top ten.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_00]: And actually, the ten through seven is all defensive players.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_00]: Four is a defensive player at five and six.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_00]: We've got offensive players and then one through three is actually the specialist.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_00]: So not very the lead too much there.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_00]: Getting at number nine, I think Jordan Lewis comes over from Dallas and
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: You might scoff at him being this high on the list, but the bottom line is the position he plays is nickel, and sometimes outside corner.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: He's been excellent in that role.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely excellent as a nickel corner in this league.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_00]: And you've already seen that carry over to the practice field where he makes plays, where he shows smart, he shows instincts.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_00]: He's a good tackler in the nickel.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_00]: I just think that you look at Jordan Lewis and there's a complete game there, a veteran leadership aspect to the game, but also a really good player on the field.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_00]: And so I could not make this list without having him on it.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: I think when you look at Tyson Campbell, Jordan Lewis, and also potentially having Travis Hunter who's not on this list.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_00]: Um, obviously be potentially a top ten player for the Jaguars.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_00]: I just didn't include any rookies.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, that could be a really good corner group.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: If you're able to get Travis Hunter on the field as much as, uh, the Jaguars are hoping to.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_00]: So Jordan Lewis very good player.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and before we get to eight, I did want to touch on the three guys that could be on this list that are not on the list.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and there's really probably more than three.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: But the three that really stood out to me, the most were Anton Harris and Devon Lloyd and Eric Armstrong.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_00]: I think all three of them are extremely talented.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_00]: You probably go ahead and throw Walker a little on that list as well that could be on this.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_00]: But I think Anton Harris and if he gets it together from a consistency standpoint, from an effort standpoint every single day, he has the ability to be a top flight pass protecting left tackle or right tackle in the NFL or left tackle.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_00]: and also be a positive contributor in a run game that probably is going to feature a lot of outside zone.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_00]: And then Devon Lloyd already a great run defending linebacker going into a contract season.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_00]: If he can get it together from a mental standpoint and coverage, he has a chance to be one of the best linebackers in the league.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_00]: Barnon, Eric Armstrong,
- 5:21[SPEAKER_00]: Came off the knee injury last year, took longer to recover from that than expected, played edge instead of interior defensive line.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_00]: When he was actually lined up on the interior, he was much more productive.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_00]: I think all three of these guys could be in line for big seasons and have the talent to be top ten.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_00]: I think Walker little does too.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_00]: So those are the three four four players not on this list.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_00]: We have ten Tyson Campbell, nine Jordan Lewis.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_00]: And then that gets us to number eight with Trayvon Walker.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_00]: And I think Trayvon Walker absolutely can be much higher on this list.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_00]: But to this point what we have with Trayvon Walker is a
- 6:00[SPEAKER_00]: Ironman type of player always on the field, great run defender.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_00]: I know that like PFF grades, whatever might not have him as a great run defender, but he makes more consistent impact against the run than just about any defensive edge player in the league over the last several years.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_00]: And then somebody who has developed into a guy that can get the double digit sacks, he just needs to be more consistent with the pressures, with the down to down play as a pass rusher.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_00]: And when he gets to that point, and I think he will get to that point, he's going to be higher on this list for the Jaguars, and he's going to be one of the most feared edge players in the league.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's still on that track.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_00]: on that trajectory.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_00]: He came in as an extremely raw pass rusher.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: He knew how to defend the run and be a playmaker from the jump.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: He had to develop his game mentally and physically with the pass rusher arsenal.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's coming together really nicely.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_00]: Again, he's improved every year as a pass rusher.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_00]: He's got stacked back to back, double digit, sack seasons.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_00]: So I think he's moving in the right direction and he is a very good player already for the Jaguars.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_00]: And number seven, I have FOIA, Luke, and who has been one of the most consistent linebackers in the league.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm not just talking about because he comes up with, you know, hundred fifty tackles a year, whatever it ends up being.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_00]: And is just an absolute freak when it comes to that and led the league in tackles two years in a row, almost at it three years in a row.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: It's really because of the leadership, the playmaking when the team needs it.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_00]: When this team has been in situations where they need a clutch tackle, short of the sticks, foil look, and has been one of the guys that is always around the football.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_00]: He's the green dot player.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_00]: He is both good and coverage and as a run defender.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_00]: And so I think FOA absolutely deserves to be on this list.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_00]: At number six, I have Jaguar's quarterback, Trevor Lawrence.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_00]: I think Trevor has shown that when he is healthy and when everything is right or even just okay around him.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_00]: he can elevate the team to be a playoff caliber team and a team that can win a playoff game.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_00]: And so you look as deep passing ability, his ability on the move on the run is gut-seerness.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_00]: And I think the Trevor Lawrence clearly is a top ten player for the Jacksonville Jaguars and has the potential to be the number one player on this list for the team.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_00]: He absolutely does.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_00]: I think you could look at probably
- 8:37[SPEAKER_00]: Trayvon, Trevor, and the next two guys as players that absolutely have the potential to be number one and also without question and Travis Hunter has the potential to be number one player on the team.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_00]: I just didn't include him because he's a rookie.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_00]: At number five is Brian Thomas Jr., who is just an absolute stud already.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_00]: Even as a rookie, there were mistakes on tape.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_00]: There was not being at the right route depth.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_00]: There was releasing inside, instead of outside, and that leads to like, you know, poor spacing, which leads to defense being able to make a play on the ball.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_00]: Even when you include the rookie mistakes, his rookie season was so unbelievable.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_00]: His ability to be a three-level threat to move around the formation, catch screen passes, catch slants, catch digs, catch posts.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he was the best post receiver in the NFL by a wide margin, and I think that the ceiling is virtually limitless for a guy who
- 9:36[SPEAKER_00]: has every tool in the tool bag that you could ask for from a physical standpoint.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_00]: Brian Thomas Jr.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_00]: at number five at number four we've got Josh Heinz Allen who is the most consistent player on this team for the last several years that's not on special teams that actually plays on the defensive side of the ball.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_00]: Really good past Russia.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_00]: Really good run defender.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_00]: High effort player.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_00]: He's got all the physical ability you could ask for.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_00]: He's honed and developed that physical ability.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to become the Jaguars all-time leading sackgitter, which is more of a commentary on the Jaguars lack of elite past Russia's than it is anything else, but still Josh Heinz Allen has proven
- 10:20[SPEAKER_00]: He can be a high-end pass-roader and a really consistent run-offender.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_00]: One of the more well-rounded edge players in the league.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_00]: So Josh Heinz Allen, absolutely.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: At the top of this list, when it comes to offense and defense, and then you've got your three specialists.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_00]: Ross Matasic, Pro Bowl, Long Snapper, he's a guy that always gets the ball where it needs to be when it comes to snapping, which is an underrated part of the game, but then what he does as a coverage player on punts is awesome, right?
- 10:51[SPEAKER_00]: He's so, so consistent, and so high effort, so good, running down, covering kicks in and making plays on the football.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he's got to be pull up his stats.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see here.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean in twenty twenty three he had six tackles seven tackles last year.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_00]: He had three tackles.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_00]: He's been a fantastic specialist for the Jaguars.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_00]: And part of a unit led by Heath Farwell, that is just one of the best in the league every single year.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_00]: And then that leads us to cam little at number two.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I mean, despite being a rookie last year, he performed at a level that indicates he should be this high on this list.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_00]: He, I believe, made ninety three percent of his kick last year.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see here.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, ninety three point one percent of his field goal attempts he made he was twenty seven of twenty nine okay from he didn't have any attempts from inside of twenty but from twenty to twenty nine yards he was eight of eight from thirty to thirty nine yards he was six of six from forty to forty nine yards he was eight of nine and from fifty plus yards he was five of six I mean he was unbelievable he was perfect on extra points he was also really good on kickoffs at being able to uh...
- 12:15[SPEAKER_00]: being able to kick it out of the back of the end zone, if that's what they wanted, being able to aim it for certain spots of the end zone, certain spots of the field, and he really was incredible.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_00]: And at such a young age, the sky is the limit.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_00]: Kicker is obviously a position that it's fickle.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of like golf where you can have
- 12:44[SPEAKER_00]: the yips and you lose your confidence and all that stuff but to this point we've seen no indication that that's that's an issue for Cam Little and he was unbelievable so he deserves his credit and at number one we do have Logan Cook who I look one of the best in the game bar none for the last well it was he drafted was he was he two thousand nineteen see the same here's Josh Heinz Allen
- 13:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, two thousand eighteen two thousand eighteen he came in and he's just been so darn good for for the jackwars in the punning department and whether it's yards per attempt whether it's net whether it's downing you know inside the twenty not allowing returns Logan Cook is absolutely very special and he got rewarded with a nice contract he was the highest paid runner for about uh... twelve hours something like that
- 13:38[SPEAKER_00]: The Seahawks, I believe, came in and had to up the ante there.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_00]: But Logan Cook, a very, very good football player.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_00]: And he asked specialists, our football players too.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_00]: I think if you were to eliminate the specialists from this list and incomplete that top ten, it would probably be the three guys I brought up.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_00]: Honestly, I know you shouldn't include a rookie in a top ten list.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_00]: That's probably what I would do.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_00]: I'd probably have Travis Hunter in the top ten because I believe that's where he will be and that's where he belongs to be.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_00]: I think he'll be an unbelievable player for the Jaguars for a very long time.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, that's where we're at.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all tuning in.
