- 0:00Speaker 1: Stirring the pot, one morning at a time.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Welcome to the Alabama Show. You are so lucky.
- 0:17Speaker 3: How am I lucky?
- 0:18Speaker 4: I keep forgetting to grab the pumpkin spice stuff to
- 0:21Speaker 4: do Wheel of Pumpkin. I was going to do it today,
- 0:23Speaker 4: and I got all the way to work, and I went, crap,
- 0:26Speaker 4: because it's in the freezer. I found pumpkin pie ice
- 0:29Speaker 4: cream sandwiches. And I keep forgetting to bring them in.
- 0:33Speaker 4: And the other one I'm not going to tell you
- 0:34Speaker 4: until it gets here. It's really good, too. I got
- 0:36Speaker 4: some good stuff and I keep forgetting to bring it.
- 0:38Speaker 4: I'm so mad at myself.
- 0:40Speaker 5: Well, I guess winner, winner, not pumpkin dinner for this guy.
- 0:43Speaker 4: I'll bring it in this weekend and set it somewhere
- 0:45Speaker 4: in the studio so we can do Wheel of Pumpkin
- 0:47Speaker 4: again next week. Because that's my favorite thing we do
- 0:49Speaker 4: in the fall. Producer Blake hates pumpkin spice flavored stuff.
- 0:53Speaker 4: And we make him eat it.
- 0:54Speaker 2: And it's great.
- 0:55Speaker 3: It's miserable. I hate, I hate pumpkin with a passion.
- 0:59Speaker 4: Next week will be good, but just be prepared. There
- 1:01Speaker 4: are pumpkin ice cream sandwiches. That's a thing.
- 1:04Speaker 3: Why would they ruin ice cream sandwiches like that?
- 1:06Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:07Speaker 4: I saw that at the store this week and I
- 1:09Speaker 4: was like, ooh, that.
- 1:11Speaker 3: That seems awful.
- 1:12Speaker 5: That seems like a bad idea. I don't know who
- 1:14Speaker 5: the marketing is for that, but they need to change it.
- 1:16Speaker 2: The other one that I have is way worse. Just
- 1:19Speaker 2: trust me, darling.
- 1:20Speaker 3: I don't know. They're all bad. You can't tell me
- 1:23Speaker 3: any of them are good.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Anyway, good morning. Thank you for being here. That's okay.
- 1:26Speaker 2: We'll still have a fun show today. I did something
- 1:28Speaker 2: real awkward.
- 1:29Speaker 4: Well, I didn't do something awkward, but there was an
- 1:31Speaker 4: awkward thing that happened at the gym this week. Also,
- 1:34Speaker 4: what the hell headlines at 6.50 and 8.50. Crazy things
- 1:37Speaker 4: people are doing in the news. And if you have
- 1:39Speaker 4: good news... I would love to hear it. Call the show.
- 1:43Speaker 4: 833-501-BAMA is the number.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Good morning. It's what the hell headlines.
- 1:47Speaker 4: What the hell are you talking about?
- 1:50Speaker 1: On the Alabama show.
- 1:52Speaker 4: A woman got arrested for using the company credit card
- 1:55Speaker 4: to buy $ 4 million worth of things.
- 2:00Speaker 5: So how did she, did she get arrested?
- 2:02Speaker 2: Yes, she got arrested.
- 2:04Speaker 4: What she did, she's been working for this company since 2021.
- 2:07Speaker 4: She told the owner that the owner should get a
- 2:09Speaker 4: company credit card because she worked in the finance, whatever,
- 2:13Speaker 4: with the finance department.
- 2:14Speaker 2: The owner said no.
- 2:16Speaker 4: Well, she ended up applying for a credit card anyway
- 2:18Speaker 4: under the company name and the owner's name. And since 2021,
- 2:22Speaker 4: she has spent $ 4 million on the credit card. She
- 2:25Speaker 4: used a down payment for a motorcycle, a truck. She
- 2:28Speaker 4: bought a bunch of clothes.
- 2:29Speaker 3: She was not trying to be secretive about this.
- 2:31Speaker 4: No. So she got arrested. If she gets convicted, she
- 2:34Speaker 4: could go to prison for 10 years. What?
- 2:38Speaker 6: Super easy trivia with the Alabama Show.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Today, Producer Blake, you are the contestant.
- 2:44Speaker 3: That's what I've been waiting for, Alabama. Let's run it.
- 2:47Speaker 4: If you are listening and you'd like to go to
- 2:49Speaker 4: Rock the South, call the show, 833-501-BAMA. Producer Blake's about
- 2:53Speaker 4: to win tickets for you.
- 2:54Speaker 3: That's right. Let's do it.
- 2:55Speaker 4: Question number one. Why are you so hyped up? Have
- 2:58Speaker 4: you had a monster today?
- 2:59Speaker 3: No, I'm just so excited to play this game.
- 3:02Speaker 2: No, you're not.
- 3:03Speaker 3: Watch me.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Okay, who lives in a.
- 3:06Speaker 3: Pineapple under the sea? That would be SpongeBob.
- 3:08Speaker 2: I didn't finish my question.
- 3:10Speaker 3: All right, try it again.
- 3:10Speaker 4: I'm changing it now because that was the question. That's
- 3:13Speaker 4: what happens when you do that.
- 3:16Speaker 3: Okay.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Who lives in a.
- 3:20Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Who lives in the White House?
- 3:23Speaker 3: The president.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Who lives in the birdhouse?
- 3:27Speaker 3: The bird.
- 3:29Speaker 4: Who lives in a hole in a tree?
- 3:32Speaker 3: Squirrels most of the time.
- 3:35Speaker 4: All right, next one.
- 3:37Speaker 2: How many days are in a year?
- 3:38Speaker 5: 365 unless it's a leap year.
- 3:43Speaker 3: I'm getting it.
- 3:44Speaker 8: Come on.
- 3:45Speaker 3: You're such a brat.
- 3:47Speaker 4: I want to find a hard question. I don't want
- 3:49Speaker 4: to ask you what I had. I don't want to
- 3:51Speaker 4: ask you what I had at all. I'm going to
- 3:53Speaker 4: give you something really hard.
- 3:55Speaker 3: All right, let's do it.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Hang on, I'm looking for it.
- 3:57Speaker 4: Because the last one was going to be what was
- 3:59Speaker 4: the capital of the United States.
- 4:01Speaker 3: Washington, D.C.
- 4:02Speaker 4: What's a word or a sentence that reads the same
- 4:05Speaker 4: backwards and forwards?
- 4:07Speaker 3: Oh, no, I know that one. Oh, man, like race car.
- 4:09Speaker 3: I know it. It's called a.
- 4:12Speaker 5: something i don't know the name i don't know the name.
- 4:17Speaker 4: Off the top of my head a palindrome that's what
- 4:19Speaker 4: it is oh good for.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Me i got it okay thanks here buddy.
- 4:36Speaker 1: It's three things you need to know with the Alabama show.
- 4:39Speaker 4: Pelham is getting a new Planet Fitness, expected to open
- 4:43Speaker 4: on Pelham Parkway in the next.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Few months before the end of 2026.
- 4:46Speaker 4: So if you have been thinking about getting in the gym,
- 4:49Speaker 4: you want to go to Planet Fitness and you live
- 4:51Speaker 4: in Pelham, it'll be open soon. Krispy Kreme just dropped
- 4:54Speaker 4: a new apple cider original glazed donut. This is a
- 4:56Speaker 4: big deal because they've had apple flavored donuts before, but
- 4:59Speaker 4: never apple glazed. And fans are really excited because they
- 5:03Speaker 4: had the blueberry glazed donut over the summer and that
- 5:06Speaker 4: went really well. So brand new flavor for a limited time.
- 5:09Speaker 4: All the fall flavors, you can get them now. Here's
- 5:12Speaker 4: your girl who just joined Instagram, Jennifer Lawrence.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Oh, Jen Law, let's go. Well, that's her name.
- 5:18Speaker 4: J Law on Instagram, because she said in her bio
- 5:21Speaker 4: Jennifer Lawrence was already taken.
- 5:24Speaker 3: There's so many trolls out there.
- 5:26Speaker 4: She has been avoiding being on Instagram for years.
- 5:29Speaker 2: I really hope.
- 5:31Speaker 4: that she will do some posts as Katniss Everdeen.
- 5:34Speaker 2: I think that would be awesome.
- 5:36Speaker 3: I think with the new Avengers stuff, she's going to
- 5:38Speaker 3: be Mystique.
- 5:39Speaker 4: I'm just saying.
- 5:40Speaker 2: I think we're going to go that route. Yeah, I
- 5:42Speaker 2: would be okay if she posted.
- 5:43Speaker 4: Like, I want her to do all her posts in
- 5:46Speaker 4: character and all the movie characters that she is.
- 5:49Speaker 3: I like that idea better, yes.
- 5:50Speaker 4: I do, too. Anyway, if you want to go follow her,
- 5:52Speaker 4: it's at JLaw, and that is three things you need
- 5:55Speaker 4: to know.
- 5:55Speaker 2: More at thealabamashow.com.
- 5:58Speaker 1: You're listening to the Alabama show on demand.
- 6:01Speaker 4: I need to know if the thing I have is
- 6:03Speaker 4: creepy or not.
- 6:04Speaker 7: All right.
- 6:04Speaker 3: I'm listening. You got me.
- 6:06Speaker 4: Thanks for listening to the Alabama show. I'm Alabama producer Blake.
- 6:09Speaker 3: That's me.
- 6:10Speaker 4: I started going to the gym again. Yes. My friend's
- 6:12Speaker 4: dad works at the gym.
- 6:14Speaker 3: Correct.
- 6:14Speaker 4: Yeah. I got him to show me how to use
- 6:18Speaker 4: one of the equipment the other.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Day, the hip thrust.
- 6:22Speaker 3: Okay.
- 6:22Speaker 4: Do you know what the hip thrust is? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 6:23Speaker 4: It's where you lay down and you, like, put a
- 6:26Speaker 4: pad over your legs and you put weights on the
- 6:29Speaker 4: thing and then you lift your hips up and down.
- 6:33Speaker 4: Kind of like a backwards turtle.
- 6:35Speaker 3: Yeah, that makes sense. It's very weird.
- 6:37Speaker 2: It's very weird.
- 6:38Speaker 4: It's very weird. Anyway, he shows me how to do it.
- 6:41Speaker 4: And he's like, for some reason, this piece of equipment
- 6:45Speaker 4: is real popular with the girls. He goes, I see
- 6:47Speaker 4: all these little tiny girls on it with like these heavy,
- 6:51Speaker 4: heavy weights. I went, yeah, because it makes our butt bigger.
- 6:54Speaker 4: That's why we do it.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Is that true?
- 6:55Speaker 4: Yeah. And so, yeah, you're working your glutes. And he goes,
- 6:59Speaker 4: he laughed. And so I did it.
- 7:03Speaker 2: And left.
- 7:05Speaker 4: Well, then I called my friend when I left the
- 7:07Speaker 4: gym and I'm on the phone with her and I'm
- 7:08Speaker 4: talking to her. And she goes, my dad just sent
- 7:11Speaker 4: me a picture. OK.
- 7:12Speaker 9: And she said he told me to send it to
- 7:15Speaker 9: you and you would know why. And so she opens
- 7:20Speaker 9: it and she sends it to me and she goes,
- 7:23Speaker 9: why did my dad send me a picture of the.
- 7:25Speaker 3: Back of your head?
- 7:26Speaker 4: And I look at it and I went.
- 7:30Speaker 3: I said, that's not me.
- 7:32Speaker 7: She goes, who is it?
- 7:36Speaker 2: And I said, I don't know.
- 7:38Speaker 3: It's a random girl.
- 7:39Speaker 8: So then I had to explain to her how we
- 7:42Speaker 8: were talking about how it's popular with the girls. And
- 7:46Speaker 8: I think he was trying to show me that she
- 7:49Speaker 8: was using heavy weights, but you can't see the weights.
- 7:52Speaker 4: All you see is just this girl in the back of.
- 7:54Speaker 3: Her head on the hip thruster. That's a good dad
- 8:01Speaker 3: right there.
- 8:01Speaker 4: And I don't know why he sent it to her.
- 8:04Speaker 2: He's friends with me on Facebook.
- 8:05Speaker 4: She goes, why is he sending me this to send
- 8:07Speaker 4: it to you?
- 8:07Speaker 2: And I had to explain the whole thing.
- 8:09Speaker 4: And she goes, that would make sense why you would
- 8:11Speaker 4: know what it means. And I don't. yesterday at the
- 8:18Speaker 4: gym and I was like, I saw the picture. I said,
- 8:20Speaker 4: he goes, yeah, I was trying to get the weights
- 8:21Speaker 4: to show you how heavy her weights were. I was like, yeah.
- 8:25Speaker 3: Before that, did you know what he was doing?
- 8:26Speaker 4: Yeah, I knew what he was doing because I knew.
- 8:28Speaker 3: We had the conversation.
- 8:30Speaker 4: But also, I don't think this girl knows he took
- 8:33Speaker 4: a picture of her doing the hip thruster at the gym.
- 8:36Speaker 5: That would make me so uncomfortable at the gym, I'll
- 8:38Speaker 5: be honest with you.
- 8:39Speaker 4: Because he's like creeping off off to.
- 8:41Speaker 3: The side doing it.
- 8:43Speaker 4: That's all funny.
- 8:44Speaker 3: That's bad. That's a bad idea. And I think they
- 8:47Speaker 3: can get you in big trouble.
- 8:49Speaker 4: Do I need to delete it from my phone so
- 8:51Speaker 4: he doesn't get in trouble? He wasn't doing it in
- 8:53Speaker 4: a creepy way, though.
- 8:55Speaker 3: The evidence is not in your hands. It's in his.
- 8:58Speaker 3: He took the photo. It's probably still on his phone.
- 9:02Speaker 3: yeah that's her good weight like you know what i.
- 9:05Speaker 4: Mean it's nothing but it's literally just the back of
- 9:07Speaker 4: her head and the weight you can't see anything else
- 9:10Speaker 4: yeah but that sounds awful that sounds.
- 9:12Speaker 9: Awful call the show what's the weirdest thing you've seen
- 9:15Speaker 9: at the gym do you think this picture is bad
- 9:17Speaker 9: or creepy 833-501-BAMA is the number.
- 9:21Speaker 6: You are listening to the alabama show on.
- 9:23Speaker 4: Demand 8-3-3-5-I-1-Bama is the number to call the show. Amber,
- 9:29Speaker 4: listening to us on the iHeartRadio app, good morning. Do
- 9:31Speaker 4: you have a creepy thing that happened at the gym?
- 9:34Speaker 4: I do.
- 9:35Speaker 7: I mean, you would think after going.
- 9:36Speaker 4: To the gym for over 20 years, I'd have more.
- 9:38Speaker 7: But really the only creepy thing that happened to me
- 9:41Speaker 7: at the gym one time, I used to go to
- 9:43Speaker 7: this smaller gym at about 4.30 in the morning and
- 9:47Speaker 7: And there's this guy that started going. He was an
- 9:49Speaker 7: older gentleman. And in his headphones, he had like salsa music.
- 9:52Speaker 1: So he was like doing bachata and.
- 9:54Speaker 7: Salsa like by himself on the equipment, which is fine.
- 9:58Speaker 7: But I made the mistake of saying hi. to him once,
- 10:00Speaker 7: and he took that niceness to be weakness. And I
- 10:04Speaker 7: remember him coming in between my sets. I was doing deadlifts,
- 10:07Speaker 7: and he tried to spot me from behind on a
- 10:09Speaker 7: squat without me asking.
- 10:11Speaker 2: He saw that I was pushing. I was like, right?
- 10:14Speaker 8: Right?
- 10:14Speaker 7: That was like the weird. And then I was after that.
- 10:17Speaker 7: I was like, dude, I got it.
- 10:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 10:19Speaker 2: Don't touch me.
- 10:20Speaker 7: I mean, squat, like spotting you on a squat, like
- 10:24Speaker 7: you're squatting with the bar on your back and he's
- 10:26Speaker 7: behind me trying to help me down and up.
- 10:28Speaker 4: I'm like, I got this.
- 10:29Speaker 2: I tell you, man, I love going to the gym.
- 10:31Speaker 4: It has been great for my, my mental health and
- 10:34Speaker 4: my physical health, but there, it gets kind of awkward
- 10:38Speaker 4: when you're a girl and you go to the gym
- 10:40Speaker 4: and you're trying to work out and there's some creepy
- 10:41Speaker 4: guys there.
- 10:42Speaker 7: Yeah, especially because of the positions you basically have to
- 10:46Speaker 7: put yourself in to hit the target muscles.
- 10:48Speaker 3: It's like, dude, look away.
- 10:51Speaker 2: Amber, thank you for calling.
- 10:52Speaker 8: Yeah, you got it.
- 10:54Speaker 7: Bye.
- 10:54Speaker 6: It's three things you need to know with the Alabama show.
- 10:58Speaker 4: If you're ready for football this weekend, Alabama is going
- 11:00Speaker 4: to play Kentucky on Saturday at 1230 and Auburn will
- 11:05Speaker 4: play Southern Mississippi on Saturday at 645 p.m. So get
- 11:09Speaker 4: ready for the games. Hopefully we win those two. We
- 11:11Speaker 4: both teams won last week. Cindy Lauper is going to
- 11:15Speaker 4: perform for 9-11. Tomorrow is the 25th anniversary of the
- 11:19Speaker 4: September 11th attacks. There will be a special tribute in
- 11:22Speaker 4: New York City featuring the projection of two blue beams
- 11:25Speaker 4: where the Twin Towers were. Cindy Lauper will perform during
- 11:29Speaker 4: a national broadcast honoring the victims and their families. This
- 11:32Speaker 4: will be a one-hour special. It'll air on Disney platforms
- 11:35Speaker 4: hosted by David Muir, Robin Roberts, and Diane Sawyer. That'll
- 11:39Speaker 4: be tomorrow.
- 11:41Speaker 2: I think Lady.
- 11:41Speaker 4: Gaga may have secretly got married and be on her
- 11:44Speaker 4: honeymoon right now. What?
- 11:46Speaker 2: What?
- 11:46Speaker 3: This is news.
- 11:47Speaker 4: She has a fiance, Michael Polanski. He's an entrepreneur and
- 11:51Speaker 4: venture capitalist. They got engaged in 2024.
- 11:53Speaker 2: Yeah. Lady Gaga has since hinted that.
- 11:57Speaker 4: When they get married, it'll be a low key marriage
- 11:59Speaker 4: and she'd probably even go to the courthouse. She's been
- 12:01Speaker 4: out of the public since April. So now sources close
- 12:04Speaker 4: to her and her friends say. Are saying that Lady
- 12:07Speaker 4: Gaga's friends think that she just went ahead and secretly
- 12:10Speaker 4: got married and they're on their honeymoon. For April, May, June, July, August, September.
- 12:15Speaker 2: For five months. They've been on a five month honeymoon.
- 12:18Speaker 3: Well, I mean, they got the time and the money.
- 12:20Speaker 4: I mean. He is a very wealthy man.
- 12:24Speaker 2: They're both well off.
- 12:25Speaker 3: And I think it's, you know what? Do what you will.
- 12:27Speaker 3: Have fun.
- 12:28Speaker 4: So fans are patiently waiting for Lady Gaga to announce
- 12:31Speaker 4: that she is married.
- 12:32Speaker 2: And we'll find out.
- 12:33Speaker 4: That's three things you need to know. More at thealabamashow.com.
- 12:36Speaker 1: You are listening to The Alabama Show. The following program
- 12:41Speaker 1: is on demand.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Good morning, Nikki. What's your good news?
- 12:46Speaker 1: My boyfriend met my other daughter this weekend.
- 12:49Speaker 3: Yay!
- 12:53Speaker 2: How did it go? Did your daughter like your boyfriend?
- 12:55Speaker 3: She did.
- 12:57Speaker 10: He had already met my oldest, but he met my
- 12:59Speaker 10: youngest this weekend.
- 13:00Speaker 3: Okay.
- 13:01Speaker 2: What did y'all do? Did y'all, like, go to a
- 13:02Speaker 2: fun kids thing together?
- 13:04Speaker 10: We had a game night. We played board games.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Girl, that is awesome.
- 13:09Speaker 4: That's good.
- 13:09Speaker 2: Here we go. Here we go.
- 13:13Speaker 4: Does that mean you think you see wedding bells in
- 13:15Speaker 4: the future with your boyfriend?
- 13:17Speaker 3: Yes.
- 13:17Speaker 10: We are talking about the potential of moving in together
- 13:20Speaker 10: when his lease is up.
- 13:21Speaker 4: Oh, girl.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Well, good luck. That's a great What's Awesome. Thank you
- 13:24Speaker 2: for sharing.
- 13:25Speaker 4: Thank you. If you have good news, we want to
- 13:28Speaker 4: hear it for What's Awesome, call the show.
- 13:31Speaker 2: 833-501-BAMA is the number. That's 833-501-2262.
- 13:36Speaker 1: You're listening to The Alabama Show On Demand.
- 13:38Speaker 4: Our buddy Pinkbeard's going to have a show coming up
- 13:41Speaker 4: in October.
- 13:42Speaker 3: Oh, where at?
- 13:43Speaker 2: October 17th.
- 13:44Speaker 4: He's going to be at Yonder Walls Mural Festival in Birmingham.
- 13:47Speaker 4: All right. If you don't know who Pinkbeard is, he
- 13:50Speaker 4: was on America's Got Talent.
- 13:51Speaker 2: He made it to the live rounds.
- 13:53Speaker 7: He is.
- 13:54Speaker 3: Amazing.
- 13:55Speaker 4: He is such a talented artist. He came out to
- 13:57Speaker 4: our live show when we did our live show at WorkPlay.
- 13:59Speaker 2: He's so good.
- 14:00Speaker 3: He's a nice dude, too. Just like really nice.
- 14:02Speaker 2: He is a great human.
- 14:03Speaker 4: But if you have never like go watch him on
- 14:06Speaker 4: America's Got Talent, go watch the audition, go watch his
- 14:09Speaker 4: live show performance. He is probably I'm going to say
- 14:12Speaker 4: this right now.
- 14:13Speaker 2: He is the best performer out of Birmingham, Alabama.
- 14:17Speaker 3: I would agree with that statement.
- 14:18Speaker 4: He is awesome. So anyway, October 17th, he's going to
- 14:22Speaker 4: be playing at Yonder Walls Mural Festival if you want
- 14:24Speaker 4: to go.
- 14:25Speaker 1: You're listening to The Alabama Show On Demand.
- 14:28Speaker 4: Producer Blake's never going to get married because he can't cook.
- 14:31Speaker 3: No, I can cook. I can cook. Just sometimes I
- 14:34Speaker 3: might overdo it.
- 14:35Speaker 4: Thanks for listening to The Alabama Show. I'm Alabama with
- 14:39Speaker 4: Producer Blake.
- 14:40Speaker 3: That's me.
- 14:41Speaker 4: You had a girl over and cooked for?
- 14:42Speaker 3: I did, yes, correct.
- 14:44Speaker 5: And it was a crock pot meal. And so you
- 14:48Speaker 5: put everything in there all at once, right?
- 14:50Speaker 3: You know how to do that.
- 14:51Speaker 4: Sometimes you put everything all in once. If it's chicken
- 14:55Speaker 4: noodle soup, you put the noodles in later.
- 14:57Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 14:58Speaker 2: But it takes like.
- 14:59Speaker 4: Five hours to cook in a crock pot. You know that, right? Yeah.
- 15:03Speaker 3: Well, I didn't just put it in there and go,
- 15:04Speaker 3: all right, it's good an hour. I know that. I
- 15:06Speaker 3: know that.
- 15:07Speaker 4: What did you make?
- 15:08Speaker 3: So I made like a chicken Alfredo. type of thing,
- 15:11Speaker 3: but it was homemade.
- 15:13Speaker 5: But you're supposed to add like spices to it, like
- 15:15Speaker 5: a good bit of spices, like all different ones. Well,
- 15:17Speaker 5: I think I doubled the spices by accident because I
- 15:22Speaker 5: like spices.
- 15:23Speaker 4: Did you follow a recipe or did you just wing it?
- 15:26Speaker 3: I followed the recipe, but I kind of did my
- 15:28Speaker 3: own twist with it. And so that's smart.
- 15:31Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 15:32Speaker 3: So I added some more spices to it.
- 15:34Speaker 4: Great idea.
- 15:35Speaker 3: And it gets done and it's like cooked well.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Hang on.
- 15:39Speaker 4: What spices did you add to it?
- 15:41Speaker 3: Like chili powder.
- 15:44Speaker 4: To chicken Alfredo?
- 15:46Speaker 5: Yeah, I promise you it works. Then onion powder, like
- 15:50Speaker 5: a bunch of different spices that you would get.
- 15:53Speaker 4: Okay.
- 15:54Speaker 3: So I add them in there.
- 15:55Speaker 5: I'm like, man, this is going to taste so good.
- 15:57Speaker 5: And I make bowls by the end of it. I
- 16:00Speaker 5: put two bowls on the table.
- 16:01Speaker 3: I'm like, here you go.
- 16:02Speaker 4: Were there noodles in there?
- 16:04Speaker 3: Yeah, I put those in later. I did that correctly.
- 16:07Speaker 4: I'm just trying to get a feel for what this
- 16:09Speaker 4: meal was.
- 16:09Speaker 5: Yeah, it's just chicken Alfredo, but it was homemade Alfredo sauce.
- 16:12Speaker 4: Chili powder.
- 16:13Speaker 3: Chili powder. Chili powder, onion powder, garlic powder, like a
- 16:16Speaker 3: bunch of different salt.
- 16:16Speaker 4: Okay.
- 16:17Speaker 3: Pepper, whatever.
- 16:18Speaker 2: All right.
- 16:19Speaker 5: So I set the bowls on the table, and I'm
- 16:22Speaker 5: eating it, and I'm like, oh, this is so good.
- 16:24Speaker 3: I look up.
- 16:26Speaker 5: Not a word comes out of her mouth, and she
- 16:28Speaker 5: still has the food in her mouth after about 30 seconds,
- 16:31Speaker 5: and she has this.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Like, stank face.
- 16:33Speaker 5: You know those things you get whenever you're like, this
- 16:36Speaker 5: is not a good thing?
- 16:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:37Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 16:38Speaker 3: Well, she's sitting there and she goes, hmm.
- 16:40Speaker 5: And so about a minute or two in, she just
- 16:44Speaker 5: puts her bowl down and goes, I think I'm full.
- 16:47Speaker 3: And I go, what? I was like, is it not good?
- 16:52Speaker 3: She goes, no, it's fine. I'm just full. I ate earlier.
- 16:55Speaker 4: It was terrible. I just Googled chili powder should not
- 17:01Speaker 4: be in chicken Alfredo. It does.
- 17:02Speaker 3: I promise you, this recipe called for it. I used
- 17:05Speaker 3: a recipe online. I just doubled it, and I think
- 17:08Speaker 3: I should have doubled it.
- 17:10Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:11Speaker 3: So either way, she said I'm not allowed to cook
- 17:14Speaker 3: for her anymore.
- 17:19Speaker 4: Yeah, that's how it goes. I've had a guy do
- 17:21Speaker 4: that before. If you can't cook, you just, some things
- 17:24Speaker 4: you're good at, some things you're not.
- 17:25Speaker 3: I can cook. I just took a shot on this one.
- 17:27Speaker 3: It didn't work out as well as I thought I would.
- 17:29Speaker 4: Call the show.
- 17:30Speaker 2: 833-501-BAMA.
- 17:32Speaker 4: I know there are other guys out here who've tried
- 17:34Speaker 4: to cook for their life.
- 17:35Speaker 2: I've messed up food for guys, too.
- 17:37Speaker 4: I tried to make collard greens one New Year's Eve
- 17:40Speaker 4: fresh and put too much apple cider vinegar in it.
- 17:42Speaker 4: When you are dating someone, has anybody cooked you.
- 17:46Speaker 2: A meal and it turned out terrible?
- 17:47Speaker 4: What was it?
- 17:49Speaker 2: 833-501-BAMA is the number. That's 833-501-2262.
- 17:51Speaker 9: You are listening.
- 17:55Speaker 1: To The Alabama Show On Demand.
- 17:57Speaker 4: A minute ago, producer Blake told us a story about
- 18:01Speaker 4: how he cooked a meal for a girl that came
- 18:04Speaker 4: over and she hated it.
- 18:05Speaker 2: And she took one bite and said, I'm not hungry.
- 18:08Speaker 2: Did she have to eat more later? Do you have
- 18:10Speaker 2: to end up feeding her?
- 18:11Speaker 3: Later, like an hour or two later, she goes, I
- 18:14Speaker 3: think I'm starting to get hungry.
- 18:15Speaker 5: I said, there's still more in there. She goes, no,
- 18:17Speaker 5: I'm not feeling that right now. So she ate some
- 18:20Speaker 5: of my Hot Pockets that I have in my freezer.
- 18:22Speaker 5: And she burned them and still ate that. Ate the
- 18:25Speaker 5: full burnt Hot Pocket over my meal that I made.
- 18:29Speaker 5: That I spent time to make.
- 18:31Speaker 3: In a crock pot.
- 18:32Speaker 2: Call the show.
- 18:33Speaker 4: Have you ever cooked for somebody and it was bad?
- 18:35Speaker 2: 833-501-BAMA is the number.
- 18:38Speaker 6: The Alabama Show on demand. Free on the iHeartRadio app.
- 18:43Speaker 4: 833-501-BAMA is the number to call the show if you've
- 18:45Speaker 4: ever cooked a meal for somebody and it went terribly wrong.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Lindley, good morning. What are you doing today?
- 18:52Speaker 10: Just dropped my kid off for school.
- 18:53Speaker 2: Heck yeah. How's it going? Are you calling about cooking
- 18:56Speaker 2: food for people?
- 18:57Speaker 5: Yes.
- 18:58Speaker 2: Okay. Did you cook something for somebody and it went bad?
- 19:01Speaker 10: Oh, it went terrible. Absolutely terrible.
- 19:04Speaker 2: What'd you cook?
- 19:05Speaker 10: Well, it was something simple, chicken alfredo. And I made
- 19:10Speaker 10: the chicken.
- 19:10Speaker 5: It was fine.
- 19:11Speaker 10: The noodles, fine. I went to go season the sauce,
- 19:15Speaker 10: and I literally popped the top of the garlic salt.
- 19:19Speaker 1: Oh, no.
- 19:20Speaker 2: And all of the garlic went in?
- 19:22Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:23Speaker 10: It was really, really bad.
- 19:26Speaker 2: Did you feed it to somebody?
- 19:28Speaker 10: Well, I tried to scoop out most of it and
- 19:31Speaker 10: I thought I got a good amount. So I gave
- 19:34Speaker 10: him his portion and I was eating mine and mine
- 19:36Speaker 10: tasted fine. And then all of a sudden his face
- 19:39Speaker 10: just squinched up so bad. He's like, it's like the
- 19:43Speaker 10: sea is in here.
- 19:44Speaker 9: And I'm like, oh no.
- 19:47Speaker 2: That's great.
- 19:48Speaker 4: I swear I cook better than this.
- 19:50Speaker 10: He was like, how do you mess up chicken Alfredo?
- 19:53Speaker 10: And I'm like, I don't know. I'm not Olive Garden.
- 19:56Speaker 4: Look, Producer Blake did the same. That is so funny, Lindley.
- 20:00Speaker 4: What did y'all eat? Did he end up eating it
- 20:03Speaker 4: all or did he have to eat something different?
- 20:04Speaker 10: No, I wasn't going to do that to him. He
- 20:07Speaker 10: was going to go into like a diabetic stroke or something.
- 20:11Speaker 10: We ate Hot Pocket.
- 20:13Speaker 2: I love that. Lindley, thank you for calling.
- 20:16Speaker 8: No problem.
