- 0:04Speaker 1: The Joe Rogan Experience.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Train by day, Joe Rogan podcast by night.
- 0:09Speaker 1: All day.
- 0:09Speaker 2: I like him, though. I mean, when I was a kid,
- 0:15Speaker 2: I talked to him a little on the green room,
- 0:16Speaker 2: and then I thought he had a pretty good set.
- 0:18Speaker 2: He's funny.
- 0:20Speaker 1: Matt's funny. Matt Rife is very funny. What the fuck's
- 0:22Speaker 1: going on?
- 0:23Speaker 2: I don't get fucking crowd work.
- 0:26Speaker 1: It's not my thing, but I get it. It's a
- 0:28Speaker 1: tough skill. Some people are really good at it.
- 0:31Speaker 2: I guess they are, but I won't let my opening
- 0:33Speaker 2: act do it.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Oh, it becomes a problem.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Because then they feel like they can talk to me,
- 0:37Speaker 2: which they cannot. Yes. Because I just, I always looked
- 0:41Speaker 2: at it as a time killer back when I had
- 0:43Speaker 2: 41 minutes, but I was supposed to do 45 minutes.
- 0:45Speaker 2: And I'm like, I got to talk to these fucking
- 0:47Speaker 2: hayseeds for four minutes and get this thing done. Wrapped up.
- 0:52Speaker 2: But once I had the jokes, you know, I just
- 0:54Speaker 2: do the fucking jokes. Yeah.
- 0:56Speaker 1: I mean, I don't knock it. It's cool. It's a
- 0:59Speaker 1: different thing. It's a different thing. It's it's relies on
- 1:02Speaker 1: a very strong improvisational muscle because like you're under the
- 1:05Speaker 1: gun to come up with something funny to say. But
- 1:08Speaker 1: it is always funnier because it's under the gun than
- 1:11Speaker 1: it would be in a normal circumstance.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Like the things that you're saying. But you can never
- 1:16Speaker 2: use it again. I mean, you can use the skill
- 1:19Speaker 2: all the time. I mean, I guess some people are
- 1:20Speaker 2: that good at it.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Ingram's really good at it. Rick Ingram, he's got a
- 1:24Speaker 1: lot of, like, built-in stuff, like material he can pull out, too,
- 1:27Speaker 1: because he does it so often.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. So he's got to blend the two together.
- 1:30Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. He seamlessly integrates the two of them together.
- 1:34Speaker 1: He's really good at it. Big Jay, Big Jay Oakerson,
- 1:37Speaker 1: he's really good at it. He's really good at it
- 1:40Speaker 1: because he knows how to hold a moment. He knows
- 1:42Speaker 1: how to hold, like, when someone says something ridiculous, he
- 1:45Speaker 1: knows how to pause. He knows how to, like, he's
- 1:47Speaker 1: got great storytelling.
- 1:49Speaker 2: Yeah, he's a nice guy, too.
- 1:50Speaker 1: He's a great guy. But he also is a great comic. Like,
- 1:53Speaker 1: he just does funny stand-up comedy on top of that.
- 1:56Speaker 1: So it's like, yeah, the crowd work is nice, but
- 1:58Speaker 1: it's not the only thing he does. Whereas some people,
- 2:01Speaker 1: that's their whole thing.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Well, I hear these young comics at the club, I've
- 2:03Speaker 2: got to work on my crowd work. I've got to
- 2:05Speaker 2: work on my crowd work. And I'm like, well, you don't, but.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Is your Pat O'Neill's joke about that? I don't want
- 2:09Speaker 1: to give it up on the air, but it's really hilarious.
- 2:12Speaker 1: He's funny, man. That guy's a joke machine. Pat O'Neill?
- 2:17Speaker 2: I think Pat is, you know, I had him on
- 2:19Speaker 2: my show, too, right after I saw him on Kill Tony.
- 2:22Speaker 2: So funny. And, you know, it's amazing. Kill Tony, what
- 2:26Speaker 2: was the kid's name that opened last night? Oh, you
- 2:30Speaker 2: weren't there Monday night. I was there Monday night. The
- 2:32Speaker 2: young kid, he's from Alabama. Do you know who I'm
- 2:36Speaker 2: talking about? I do know.
- 2:37Speaker 1: He just got the golden ticket.
- 2:39Speaker 2: On Kill Tony. Yeah, when I was hosting. And you
- 2:41Speaker 2: were there that night.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Let me text Tony.
- 2:43Speaker 2: I'll find out. Find out.
- 2:45Speaker 1: It might not have been aired yet.
- 2:46Speaker 2: No, it hasn't. Has it aired?
- 2:48Speaker 3: No, I just don't know his name.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Fucking kid's hilarious. He works at the club, too. Cool kid, too. And,
- 2:52Speaker 1: you know, I was living in Alabama. Decided to take
- 2:54Speaker 1: a chance.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Brent Reid? Brent Reid. Yeah, Brent Reid. He's opening for
- 2:58Speaker 2: me tonight.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Funny motherfucker, dude. And he was saying, that's right, because
- 3:01Speaker 1: he was saying, like you said after you saw him
- 3:04Speaker 1: on Kill Tony, hey, I'd like to have you open
- 3:06Speaker 1: for me. And he was like, holy fucking shit, man.
- 3:08Speaker 1: He had called his dad. He's like, I'm fucking opening
- 3:13Speaker 1: for Ron White. His dad was giving him shit about
- 3:16Speaker 1: his comedy career.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Stand-up, you know, stand-up's not as funny as it used
- 3:21Speaker 2: to be to me. It's very, very rare that I'll
- 3:24Speaker 2: sit and watch somebody do stand-up and laugh out loud
- 3:27Speaker 2: if I'm up on the balcony. But that kid cracked
- 3:31Speaker 2: me up. He's very good. Great writing. What's amazing is
- 3:36Speaker 2: that when he came back on Kill Tony, he'd only
- 3:39Speaker 2: been on one time. One time.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Actually not.
- 3:42Speaker 2: And they already knew who he was. I mean, they
- 3:45Speaker 2: gave him a round of applause like it was one
- 3:46Speaker 2: of the biggest comics in the country, and he'd been
- 3:48Speaker 2: on once. Yeah. And the second time was.
- 3:52Speaker 1: He'd actually, I thought that too, but he had actually
- 3:54Speaker 1: been on before and bombed. And he talked about that,
- 3:58Speaker 1: about how he came back. And this set, he was just,
- 4:02Speaker 1: he'd been working at the club. He'd been living in Austin.
- 4:04Speaker 1: It's way more comfortable. He built his act up. And
- 4:07Speaker 1: he was like, super honest about it. We're all chilling
- 4:10Speaker 1: in the back. Very cool guy. We were just talking
- 4:12Speaker 1: about it. He's like, yeah, I just had to get
- 4:14Speaker 1: my shit together, man. I didn't figure out what the
- 4:16Speaker 1: fuck I'm doing. And the first time I did, I
- 4:18Speaker 1: kind of froze. But this time I was like, And
- 4:20Speaker 1: this time he had to follow that other dude. Who
- 4:23Speaker 1: was that other dude who also got a golden ticket? Right, right.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Two in a row. Who's that guy? That guy was funny.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Have we seen him since? I haven't seen him back
- 4:29Speaker 2: up at the club.
- 4:29Speaker 1: I haven't seen him since, but that guy's fucking talented, too.
- 4:32Speaker 1: He was very funny. So they got two golden tickets
- 4:34Speaker 1: in a row. Who was the other guy that got
- 4:36Speaker 1: a golden ticket? He had a fun name. Like a
- 4:40Speaker 1: made-up name.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Give me a second.
- 4:42Speaker 4: Sorry.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Yeah, it was like Sir... I remember. Something. I don't remember.
- 4:47Speaker 2: I don't either.
- 4:48Speaker 1: I don't remember, but it was hilarious. It was ridiculous.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Whatever his name was was ridiculous.
- 4:53Speaker 2: So I just got back from Lake Como and Verona
- 4:58Speaker 2: and Zermatt, Switzerland.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Oh, damn, dude.
- 5:01Speaker 2: Fucking 20, 21 days. Of just pure relaxation. And I
- 5:08Speaker 2: got to tell you, I dug every goddamn minute of it.
- 5:10Speaker 2: It was 107 degrees here in Texas. Oh, the high
- 5:14Speaker 2: today is 62. Yeah, that guy right there. What is
- 5:16Speaker 2: his name? It's French, I think. Yeah, I know it.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Francois something, right? I think it's a fake name.
- 5:29Speaker 3: Let's see if he says it here.
- 5:30Speaker 1: Sorry. Does he say it? I can't hear.
- 5:35Speaker 3: Not fine, not fine, not fine.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Okay, tell me what it is. But that dude is
- 5:38Speaker 1: very funny, too.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Yeah, he's talented.
- 5:38Speaker 1: So he's super funny in the interview, too. Like, very
- 5:42Speaker 1: funny back and forth. Just a funny dude. Right. So
- 5:44Speaker 1: two golden tickets in a row. But anyway, that guy
- 5:46Speaker 1: killed so hard that when the other guy came on
- 5:50Speaker 1: after him, it's like, holy shit. Like, you've got a
- 5:53Speaker 1: tough spot here. And he murdered.
- 5:54Speaker 2: And he murdered, right, on top of it. So when
- 5:57Speaker 2: he opened for me, there were still a couple of
- 6:00Speaker 2: jokes that didn't work. I mean, it wasn't like... play
- 6:03Speaker 2: in a kill tony crowd that's right right of course
- 6:06Speaker 2: it's your crowd and so uh buddy he got his
- 6:10Speaker 2: footing back and uh you know and and uh and
- 6:13Speaker 2: did a great job for me so and then is
- 6:16Speaker 2: it deidrick the the other guy.
- 6:18Speaker 1: The yes dedrick yeah dedrick flynn yeah yeah fucking hilarious guy.
- 6:23Speaker 2: I think he's One of the best around. Absolutely. Just
- 6:27Speaker 2: his demeanor on stage. He's on the show tonight, too.
- 6:30Speaker 1: And that's another dude that almost didn't, like, leave Atlanta.
- 6:34Speaker 1: He was stuck in Atlanta just spinning his wheels, and
- 6:36Speaker 1: he couldn't make it happen. And then he came out
- 6:38Speaker 1: here and got on Keltonium.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Boom! It's just such a great opportunity if you're ready
- 6:43Speaker 2: for it. If you're not, it's just another passing moment,
- 6:46Speaker 2: and the crowds love it, too. I mean, the crowds
- 6:49Speaker 2: get it. But if you're not ready, it ain't going
- 6:52Speaker 2: to happen.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Steve Francois.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Francois, yeah.
- 6:55Speaker 3: The comedy seller. I think he has that added.
- 6:57Speaker 1: That's what he calls himself. The comedy seller. Like S-E-L-L-E-R.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Unlike the club.
- 7:02Speaker 1: That's right. That was his crazy name. The comedy seller.
- 7:05Speaker 1: But very funny dude. Yeah, I mean, it's the greatest
- 7:08Speaker 1: thing for comedians in the history of comedy in terms
- 7:11Speaker 1: of having a real platform that if you've been banging
- 7:15Speaker 1: it out on the road for seven, eight, nine, ten years,
- 7:18Speaker 1: you put together a solid half hour, hour, you're really
- 7:21Speaker 1: starting to tour, you're middling for guys, you're really starting
- 7:24Speaker 1: to feel like a real comic, and you got one
- 7:26Speaker 1: banger minute on Kill Tony, boom. Next thing you know,
- 7:30Speaker 1: you show up. Look at all these guys. Look at
- 7:32Speaker 1: Ari Matty. Ari Matty goes on stage. They go fucking
- 7:34Speaker 1: bananas now.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Yeah, they do.
- 7:36Speaker 1: William Montgomery. The Black Keys asked me to bring William
- 7:41Speaker 1: Montgomery to the club because I was going up that
- 7:43Speaker 1: night and they were coming to the club. They go, hey,
- 7:45Speaker 1: is William Montgomery coming? I go, I'll make sure he comes.
- 7:48Speaker 1: I called him up.
- 7:49Speaker 2: Fuck, man. It's so much fun. Even though I enjoyed
- 7:55Speaker 2: it when I first saw it out in L.A., I
- 7:58Speaker 2: did not see, I did not have the vision that
- 8:00Speaker 2: Tony has, you know, that what it could be someday.
- 8:03Speaker 2: I just thought it was a great idea and I
- 8:05Speaker 2: didn't know if it would ever go anywhere, but good God.
- 8:08Speaker 1: I told him maybe like four or five years in,
- 8:11Speaker 1: I go, whatever you do, don't stop doing this. I go,
- 8:14Speaker 1: this is going to be one of the biggest shows
- 8:15Speaker 1: in comedy. I go, this is so unique and so
- 8:18Speaker 1: huge and so different. And the way you host and
- 8:20Speaker 1: the way you do it is different than the way
- 8:22Speaker 1: anybody else would do it.
- 8:23Speaker 2: And nobody else could do it.
- 8:25Speaker 1: I mean, it's all him.
- 8:26Speaker 2: It's, it's, He really is pure genius, the show is.
- 8:31Speaker 1: He's a genius host. People hate on that guy. You
- 8:35Speaker 1: have no idea how talented he is. That improvisational talent
- 8:39Speaker 1: that he has off the bat like that.
- 8:40Speaker 2: Oh, I have an idea.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Second to none.
- 8:42Speaker 2: No.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Second to none.
- 8:43Speaker 2: Second to none.
- 8:44Speaker 1: It's incredible. I was telling him a lot. He's like, really?
- 8:47Speaker 1: You think so? I go, do not ever stop doing
- 8:49Speaker 1: this show. This show is going to be fucking huge.
- 8:51Speaker 2: Fuck it. It is too.
- 8:52Speaker 1: And now it sells out Madison Square Garden two.
- 8:54Speaker 2: Nights in a row. Yeah. Wish I could do that.
- 8:57Speaker 1: It's amazing. I love it. I'm so happy for him.
- 9:00Speaker 1: And it's so cool to watch. And it's such a
- 9:02Speaker 1: positive karma show because all the. comics that leave that
- 9:06Speaker 1: show and they take off. Like, you know, it's just
- 9:11Speaker 1: watching Cam Patterson on SNL, watching all these different comedians
- 9:15Speaker 1: just sell out all over the country.
- 9:16Speaker 2: It's incredible. I love it, man. I love it when
- 9:19Speaker 2: somebody hits it, you know?
- 9:20Speaker 1: Well, it's great for all of us.
- 9:21Speaker 5: It is.
- 9:22Speaker 2: It's great for the club.
- 9:23Speaker 1: It's great for the young people coming up to see
- 9:26Speaker 1: that it's possible that someone else can make it there.
- 9:28Speaker 1: It's like, it's the new, like, Hollywood, you got a
- 9:32Speaker 1: sitcom thing. You know what I mean? It's like very similar.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Because back in those days, like when one of your
- 9:37Speaker 1: friends got a sitcom, you're like, holy shit, Mike got
- 9:40Speaker 1: cast on fucking Bob's cousin, whatever the fuck it is.
- 9:44Speaker 2: Right.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Some stupid ass sitcom. And everybody was like, wow, maybe
- 9:47Speaker 1: I can make it too. This is the new version
- 9:49Speaker 1: of that. You're seeing guys, but now it's just stand up.
- 9:53Speaker 1: Like you have a real career in stand up from it.
- 9:56Speaker 6: Right.
- 9:56Speaker 2: Which is all I've ever done.
- 9:58Speaker 3: Right.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:00Speaker 2: That's all I've ever done is stand-up comedy. And so
- 10:03Speaker 2: that's kind of a weird career, you know, not to
- 10:07Speaker 2: be able to bounce to here off of anything other
- 10:09Speaker 2: than just jokes.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Stand-up comedy is.
- 10:12Speaker 2: A weird career, period.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Because, you know, everyone's like psychologically fragile. Yeah.
- 10:17Speaker 6: Right.
- 10:17Speaker 1: And then you're going through these ups and downs and
- 10:20Speaker 1: you're trying to sell tickets and you're trying to be relevant.
- 10:23Speaker 2: And something's got to happen.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Something's got to happen.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Right. I mean, there's got to be a catalyst.
- 10:28Speaker 3: Right.
- 10:28Speaker 2: And for me, it was all, you know, the blue
- 10:30Speaker 2: collar comedy tour, which now people don't even remember what
- 10:33Speaker 2: that is. But at one time it was a big deal,
- 10:36Speaker 2: you know, and it.
- 10:36Speaker 1: I think most people my age remember it. Most people
- 10:40Speaker 1: are also shocked that there's not another one. Some other
- 10:43Speaker 1: guys haven't figured out how to do something like that.
- 10:46Speaker 1: Take that level of comics, like four of them, put
- 10:50Speaker 1: them together, and go on tour.
- 10:51Speaker 2: Right. Well, with the killers that killed Tony, it's kind
- 10:55Speaker 2: of like that. It's a little bit like that. The
- 10:56Speaker 2: group of some guys, not as big as Foxworthy. Foxworthy
- 11:02Speaker 2: was the only real star of that show when it started.
- 11:04Speaker 2: He was willing to share a stage with me. That
- 11:09Speaker 2: was the catalyst for me. But I'd also been doing
- 11:11Speaker 2: stand-up for Foxworthy. 14 years and i've been headlining comedy
- 11:15Speaker 2: clubs for 11 of them that's.
- 11:17Speaker 1: The thing right it's there's no substitute for the time
- 11:19Speaker 1: in and there's so many guys that are like right
- 11:22Speaker 1: about to crack you know that's where kill tony really
- 11:24Speaker 1: comes along guys that have really put that time in
- 11:27Speaker 1: really been on the road yeah.
- 11:29Speaker 2: If you're prepared for the opportunity then that's the best
- 11:32Speaker 2: thing out there for you and if you're not then
- 11:35Speaker 2: it was just another fucking day at the park you
- 11:36Speaker 2: know No big deal.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Then you have to figure out what the fuck you're
- 11:39Speaker 1: going to do with your life.
- 11:41Speaker 2: Yeah, good luck.
- 11:42Speaker 1: Because you bomb on Keltoni, and you're an Uber Eats driver,
- 11:45Speaker 1: and you're like, oh, no. Man. What is my life now?
- 11:49Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, I'm glad that I didn't really get
- 11:51Speaker 2: weird exposure early. You know, that's the worst thing that
- 11:54Speaker 2: can happen is you win a contest or something, and
- 11:57Speaker 2: you don't have the show to back it up with,
- 11:59Speaker 2: but all of a sudden you can sell tickets, and
- 12:00Speaker 2: that's just a death spiral is what that is. Yeah,
- 12:05Speaker 2: that could do you in.
- 12:08Speaker 1: There's such a dance of what works and what doesn't work.
- 12:11Speaker 1: Guys trying to find their voice on stage and trying
- 12:14Speaker 1: to write and trying to figure out what to do.
- 12:16Speaker 1: And then also might have a drinking problem. Also might
- 12:19Speaker 1: do cocaine.
- 12:20Speaker 2: Right.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Also might owe the IRS $ 50, 000. Some of these guys
- 12:26Speaker 1: are so fucked up. But they're some of our favorite artists.
- 12:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:30Speaker 1: And when they crack through and then all of a
- 12:31Speaker 1: sudden become comfortable and make a living, it's a fucking
- 12:34Speaker 1: glorious thing to see.
- 12:35Speaker 2: It was always neat at the comedy store because all
- 12:37Speaker 2: the comics park in that parking lot. And you could
- 12:40Speaker 2: tell when something happened because it's either shitty cars or
- 12:42Speaker 2: great cars. There was no medium cars out there. You
- 12:45Speaker 2: were either broke or you had cash. And if you
- 12:47Speaker 2: had cash, you had a new car.
- 12:49Speaker 6: I know.
- 12:50Speaker 1: There would be times you go back there. It was
- 12:51Speaker 1: like Mercedes, Ferrari, Porsche, Corvette.
- 12:55Speaker 2: Right, Vega.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Well, there was always a lot of people that drank.
- 13:00Speaker 1: I always tried to talk Mark Maron to get a
- 13:02Speaker 1: nice car. He would never do it. Him and Ari.
- 13:04Speaker 1: I had an M3 once. I'm like, Mark, this is
- 13:06Speaker 1: a sensible car. This is not too crazy. It's not
- 13:09Speaker 1: too look at me.
- 13:10Speaker 2: Fun to drive.
- 13:11Speaker 1: It's so fun to drive. I go, dude, it makes
- 13:13Speaker 1: driving a ride. You don't even have to go fast.
- 13:16Speaker 1: Just the way it handles, the way it accelerates, the braking,
- 13:20Speaker 1: carbon fiber brakes. It's got carbon ceramic brakes, man. It's
- 13:24Speaker 1: fucking incredible. It's on rails, this thing. I was like,
- 13:28Speaker 1: he goes, how much is it? And like, we're going back.
- 13:30Speaker 1: He just couldn't be that ostentatious. You know, I've got
- 13:33Speaker 1: a lot of money guy, even when he had a
- 13:35Speaker 1: lot of money. I'm like, what's the point?
- 13:36Speaker 2: I was the same way when I first started making money.
- 13:39Speaker 2: Cause I just assumed it was all going to end. Right. So,
- 13:42Speaker 2: which it does normally. And, uh, and so I was like,
- 13:47Speaker 2: fuck man, I, I, I, I just got to be
- 13:50Speaker 2: ready for when this, I got to make as much
- 13:51Speaker 2: money as I can and work as hard as I
- 13:53Speaker 2: can before this whole thing comes tumbling fucking down. And
- 13:56Speaker 2: it never fucking did. So now then I was like, oh,
- 13:59Speaker 2: somebody's got to put a stop to this. And and
- 14:02Speaker 2: then I tried to quit for a little while. But fuck,
- 14:05Speaker 2: it's just too much fun.
- 14:06Speaker 1: I spent every penny I had for years. I didn't
- 14:10Speaker 1: give a fuck. Even when I was on TV, I
- 14:11Speaker 1: was living like a baller. I was just spending all
- 14:13Speaker 1: my money. I didn't save anything. I was like, if
- 14:19Speaker 1: it doesn't go, if it goes out, I'm not living
- 14:21Speaker 1: normal now. So I could live normal forever. I'll figure
- 14:25Speaker 1: out a way to live normal. Like right now I'm
- 14:27Speaker 1: on fucking television. Like, give me a car.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Let's go.
- 14:30Speaker 1: I want to buy a house. I was like, look,
- 14:33Speaker 1: if I go bankrupt, I've had my car repossessed before.
- 14:36Speaker 1: I've been broke before. Like, okay, I'll be broke again.
- 14:38Speaker 1: But right now I'm not broke. So I'm going to
- 14:40Speaker 1: live like I'm not broke.
- 14:41Speaker 2: I was living like I wasn't broke this, uh, Past
- 14:44Speaker 2: three weeks in Switzerland.
- 14:45Speaker 1: That's a nice way to live, man. But I don't
- 14:47Speaker 1: think you could do it forever. I think that's the thing. Like,
- 14:50Speaker 1: you have to work as hard as you do. Like,
- 14:52Speaker 1: you're always touring. You're always working on your material. You're
- 14:55Speaker 1: always writing. You're always doing sets. You're at the club
- 14:58Speaker 1: all the time. You're always banging it out. So for you,
- 15:02Speaker 1: you've earned that. Like, when you kick back and you
- 15:05Speaker 1: got a fucking pina colada you don't drink anymore. But
- 15:08Speaker 1: you're sitting back with whatever you're doing, just taking in
- 15:11Speaker 1: that sun. Not a damn thing to do. People are
- 15:13Speaker 1: feeding you food.
- 15:14Speaker 2: Yeah. The work's already been done. Yeah.
- 15:18Speaker 1: But you have to earn that. If you just do that,
- 15:21Speaker 1: that's not good on its own. People look to that
- 15:24Speaker 1: thing as if it's like Jordan Peterson's talked about that before.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Like the people imagine their retirement. Sitting on a beach
- 15:30Speaker 1: drinking margaritas. Like how many margaritas can you drink?
- 15:33Speaker 2: Right.
- 15:33Speaker 1: How long can you sit on that beach? Right. Before
- 15:35Speaker 1: now you're depressed.
- 15:36Speaker 2: Or even if it's you bought a yacht. Right. How
- 15:40Speaker 2: long can you sit on that?
- 15:41Speaker 1: That's crazy.
- 15:42Speaker 2: Before you're bored out of your skull. But, yeah, you know,
- 15:46Speaker 2: it's almost 70 years old. You know, fuck yeah, I
- 15:50Speaker 2: deserve all the– I get to do whatever I want.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Yeah, you get to do whatever you want. But, again,
- 15:56Speaker 1: like 20 days is good. Have you ever been to Switzerland?
- 15:59Speaker 2: I have not.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Fuck. It's beautiful.
- 16:02Speaker 2: It's so gorgeous. And it's not even that. It's the
- 16:05Speaker 2: infrastructure of it. And, you know, we're $ 40 trillion in debt.
- 16:09Speaker 2: We don't have a high-speed train to anywhere. Where's our shit,
- 16:12Speaker 2: you know? But you can get to the top of
- 16:15Speaker 2: almost any mountain there at 70 years old. You'll take
- 16:19Speaker 2: a train to here, a fucking auger cut through a
- 16:21Speaker 2: mountain here, then a gondola over there, and then over
- 16:24Speaker 2: the top. You can actually go to fucking Italy here.
- 16:27Speaker 2: on gondolas from Switzerland and have dinner and come back.
- 16:31Speaker 2: It was fucking gorgeous. The only thing I didn't like
- 16:34Speaker 2: was pay toilets. And because I didn't have it, you
- 16:37Speaker 2: have to have a dollar in Swiss francs. To take
- 16:41Speaker 2: a shit? To take a shit. And I'm like, that's...
- 16:44Speaker 2: discrimination is like why is it discrimination only people with
- 16:47Speaker 2: a dollar can shit here and then and it wouldn't
- 16:52Speaker 2: take a euro and it wouldn't take American money but
- 16:54Speaker 2: then I found out oh you can use a credit
- 16:56Speaker 2: card so I have to borrow money to shit make
- 17:00Speaker 2: payments it's a dollar a dollar to shit yeah but
- 17:03Speaker 2: if you don't have one of those dollars you gotta
- 17:04Speaker 2: get your credit card out and swipe it on this.
- 17:07Speaker 1: I guess after a while everybody adjusts and you just
- 17:10Speaker 1: keep a dollar with you if you're gonna go out
- 17:12Speaker 1: in case you have to shit And that way at
- 17:14Speaker 1: least you keep the riffraff out of the toilets?
- 17:16Speaker 2: Yeah, well, the riffraff got to shit somewhere. They do.
- 17:19Speaker 1: They don't want to shit on the street.
- 17:21Speaker 2: And I was about to shit on the floor if
- 17:23Speaker 2: I couldn't find a way in, and finally another guy
- 17:25Speaker 2: behind me says your credit card works.
- 17:28Speaker 1: You should be able to do Apple Pay.
- 17:31Speaker 2: Yeah, straight through to the shitter. Yeah. But I loved it.
- 17:35Speaker 2: I had so much fun. Lake Como was so beautiful.
- 17:37Speaker 1: Well, you know, Switzerland has famously been neutral.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Right?
- 17:42Speaker 1: That's Switzerland. And a lot of banks. A lot of
- 17:44Speaker 1: banks go over there, right? A lot of money, and
- 17:46Speaker 1: they don't spend any of it on war.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Yeah, they don't spend a dime of it on war.
- 17:50Speaker 2: And I was asking, you know, it was kind of
- 17:52Speaker 2: interesting because I went to France almost exactly a year before,
- 18:00Speaker 2: and I got kicked off that cruise ship, the little
- 18:03Speaker 2: Viking cruise. Did I ever tell you that story about
- 18:05Speaker 2: getting kicked off of that fucking thing? It did.
- 18:08Speaker 1: This episode is brought to you by NBC. Each week,
- 18:27Speaker 1: they work together on high-stakes cases, taking down the country's
- 18:31Speaker 1: most dangerous criminals. Like any family, the Hollingsworths don't always
- 18:35Speaker 1: see eye to eye, but they always have each other's backs.
- 18:38Speaker 1: After all, working in the federal government isn't just their job,
- 18:42Speaker 1: it's the family business. Line of Fire premieres Monday, September
- 18:46Speaker 1: 21 at 10, 9 central, after The Voice on NBC
- 18:50Speaker 1: and the next day on Peacock.
- 18:52Speaker 2: I knew it was going to be a problem when
- 18:54Speaker 2: I saw the boat, right, because I got weed and
- 18:56Speaker 2: gummies and shit. And I'm like, I don't know if
- 18:59Speaker 2: this is going to work or not, but I'll just
- 19:00Speaker 2: see what I can get away with, right? And then
- 19:04Speaker 2: I'll deny it and then do something different. You know,
- 19:07Speaker 2: we parked the boat every day. I can just get
- 19:08Speaker 2: off the boat and smoke. I don't really care. And
- 19:11Speaker 2: the fucking people came down on me so hard at
- 19:15Speaker 2: Viking Cruises. And the captain of the ship confronted me
- 19:20Speaker 2: in front of a bunch of people, really loud and aggressive,
- 19:24Speaker 2: and called me a liar. Were you lying? No, I
- 19:28Speaker 2: was smoking pot out on my deck, which is where
- 19:32Speaker 2: the first guy came in and said, hey, listen, you
- 19:34Speaker 2: can't smoke pot in your room, but if you want
- 19:36Speaker 2: to smoke pot on your deck, well, that's what I
- 19:38Speaker 2: had been doing, but I hadn't been real careful about
- 19:39Speaker 2: keeping the doors shut. And this was the hotel manager guy,
- 19:44Speaker 2: not the captain of the ship, and he was the
- 19:45Speaker 2: nicest guy ever. And he meant me no harm. Just
- 19:50Speaker 2: figure this out, you know. Well, the next day, we
- 19:53Speaker 2: were parked right at the dock, and the dock was
- 19:55Speaker 2: right there, right off my balcony. And I'm sitting there
- 19:58Speaker 2: in a cloud, in the puff, going anywhere. And he
- 20:01Speaker 2: calls and says, hey, the captain wants to talk to you.
- 20:03Speaker 2: And I'm like, do I know what it's about? And
- 20:05Speaker 2: he goes, yeah, you know. And I'm like, All right. And, uh,
- 20:09Speaker 2: they came in just in the hallway, just dressed me down.
- 20:11Speaker 2: And he said, uh, I said, no, I was smoking
- 20:13Speaker 2: pot where that guy told me to pointed right at
- 20:17Speaker 2: the other dude. And he goes, I think you were
- 20:19Speaker 2: smoking pot in your, in your bathroom. And he got
- 20:21Speaker 2: in the ventilation system. Oh, you just made that shit up, dude.
- 20:25Speaker 2: You just called me a liar. I'm one of your customers.
- 20:27Speaker 2: I bought a suite on this goddamn thing. And he said,
- 20:30Speaker 2: you listen to me. And at the end of it,
- 20:32Speaker 2: he goes, well, listen, if you want to smoke pot
- 20:34Speaker 2: on the top deck, maybe I could look the other way.
- 20:37Speaker 2: Why didn't you open with that instead of jumping my
- 20:40Speaker 2: fucking ass?
- 20:41Speaker 1: How illegal is pot over there?
- 20:43Speaker 2: Oh, you know, I was in the wrong. You know,
- 20:45Speaker 2: it's probably illegal.
- 20:46Speaker 1: But I mean, how illegal?
- 20:47Speaker 2: I mean, you can still buy in Paris. You can
- 20:51Speaker 2: get a fucking card and go in and buy weed. Okay. Well,
- 20:54Speaker 2: that's silly, man.
- 20:56Speaker 1: God, the whole thing's so silly that that's still an issue.
- 20:58Speaker 1: I get the whole smoking pot publicly. It is gross,
- 21:02Speaker 1: especially to non-smokers and people with families.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Yeah, and I forget how strong the smell is.
- 21:06Speaker 1: Yeah, it's strong. I get that. I understand that. That
- 21:10Speaker 1: makes sense to me. But the laws against it are
- 21:13Speaker 1: just stupid. They're just fucking stupid.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Speaking of felonies.
- 21:18Speaker 1: You can't do that on the air.
- 21:19Speaker 2: Huh? I'm not. It's a cigar. Oh, okay.
- 21:22Speaker 1: You can smoke that on the air.
- 21:23Speaker 2: I brought you one, too.
- 21:24Speaker 1: Oh, thank you.
- 21:25Speaker 2: Let's go. Actually, I can't tell you where it's from. Uh-oh.
- 21:29Speaker 2: Because that's a felony, too. Why?
- 21:33Speaker 1: Huh? Oh, is this from that other country?
- 21:36Speaker 2: Some foreign country. I actually bought it.
- 21:37Speaker 1: I think those are legal to have.
- 21:39Speaker 2: No, they're not.
- 21:40Speaker 1: I think Cuban cigars are legal to have, and that's
- 21:43Speaker 1: not what we're talking about, because these definitely wouldn't be
- 21:45Speaker 1: Cuban cigars. But I think Cuban cigars are legal to have.
- 21:49Speaker 1: I think you're allowed to have a certain amount of
- 21:51Speaker 1: them now. Where it used to be there was an
- 21:53Speaker 1: embargo to all trade to Cuba, and I think there's
- 21:55Speaker 1: a limited amount of Cuban cigars you're.
- 21:57Speaker 2: Allowed to possess. Let's look that up. I don't think
- 22:00Speaker 2: that's right.
- 22:00Speaker 1: I believe that's the case. Do you need a lighter, sir?
- 22:04Speaker 2: There you go.
- 22:05Speaker 1: Thank you very much. Ron White, ladies and gentlemen. Boy,
- 22:09Speaker 1: this smells like South of Florida.
- 22:13Speaker 2: Yeah. This is tough. Damn, these are legit.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Damn, this is a real thing, Ron White.
- 22:24Speaker 2: Yeah, it is.
- 22:27Speaker 3: There's like a loophole.
- 22:28Speaker 1: Isn't it weird? There's a loophole?
- 22:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:30Speaker 1: Isn't it weird how some countries are just way better
- 22:33Speaker 1: at certain shit? Can you buy Cuban cigars at a U.S.
- 22:37Speaker 2: Shop?
- 22:37Speaker 1: No.
- 22:38Speaker 4: No.
- 22:38Speaker 1: Can you order Cuban cigars online for delivery to the U.S.? No.
- 22:42Speaker 2: Yeah, you can.
- 22:43Speaker 1: Smoke a Cuban cigar while abroad where the law permits it? Generally, yes,
- 22:47Speaker 1: but do not bring it back. What? That's crazy. Imagine
- 22:53Speaker 1: they're telling you whether or not you can smoke a
- 22:56Speaker 1: Cuban cigar if you're in England.
- 22:58Speaker 2: Right.
- 22:59Speaker 1: I used to get them from England. I had a
- 23:01Speaker 1: dude in England that would send them to me. This
- 23:03Speaker 1: is way back in the Dizzee. And he would send
- 23:05Speaker 1: me a box of them with no bands on them.
- 23:07Speaker 1: And then he would send me a separate bag with
- 23:09Speaker 1: all the bands in it in an envelope.
- 23:12Speaker 2: Notice these don't have bands on them.
- 23:13Speaker 1: That's the thing.
- 23:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:15Speaker 1: But there's so many fake ones.
- 23:17Speaker 2: No, that's the most counterfeited thing in the world is
- 23:22Speaker 2: Cohiba cigars.
- 23:25Speaker 1: It says for a period ending September 2020, travelers could
- 23:29Speaker 1: bring Limited Cuban cigars back for personal use. That exemption
- 23:33Speaker 1: was removed. Exception was removed. Current CBP guidance says people
- 23:38Speaker 1: subject to U.S. jurisdiction may acquire Cuban goods while outside
- 23:42Speaker 1: the United States in certain circumstances, but may not import
- 23:45Speaker 1: Cuban origin tobacco products into the country. Well, thank God
- 23:49Speaker 1: these aren't Cuban.
- 23:50Speaker 2: Yeah, thank God. Well, I bought them in Switzerland, so
- 23:53Speaker 2: I assume they're Swiss. They must be.
- 23:55Speaker 1: They're really good at everything over there, including cheese.
- 23:58Speaker 2: Well, they're good at cigars. That's Zeno Davidoff from Switzerland. Oh, really? Yeah.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Where did he get their tobacco?
- 24:05Speaker 2: Well, he was rolling cigars. He was making cigars in Cuba.
- 24:09Speaker 2: But he smelled the whole thing coming before everybody else
- 24:11Speaker 2: did and moved to Dominican Republic. And before he did that,
- 24:14Speaker 2: he moved seeds over there, started plantations, moved his rollers
- 24:17Speaker 2: over there. So really, when that all went down, the
- 24:20Speaker 2: only really good cigar you could get was Davidoff.
- 24:24Speaker 1: It's kind of crazy how the Cubans really are so
- 24:27Speaker 1: much better. They're a level above.
- 24:30Speaker 2: They're a level above, and one of it is the rollers.
- 24:33Speaker 2: They just had generational rollers, and they have these big
- 24:36Speaker 2: rolling rooms where somebody would sit up in front of
- 24:38Speaker 2: the thing and read them books, and they'd just sit
- 24:40Speaker 2: there and roll these beautiful fucking classic cigars that smoke
- 24:44Speaker 2: gorgeous and taste gorgeous. Well, if you don't have that,
- 24:47Speaker 2: there have been companies that have bought other cigar companies
- 24:50Speaker 2: just to get their rollers. And then discontinue the line altogether.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Now I need these guys twisting up some fucking.
- 24:56Speaker 1: Yeah, you need the wizards.
- 24:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:57Speaker 1: There was a place in Miami where we used to
- 25:00Speaker 1: go to when we would do the Miami Improv. And
- 25:03Speaker 1: you could go and watch these people who used to
- 25:07Speaker 1: be in Cuba and now they're in Miami rolling cigars.
- 25:09Speaker 2: Right.
- 25:09Speaker 1: Watch them do it.
- 25:10Speaker 2: And making beautiful cigars. And they'd cut it and roll
- 25:12Speaker 2: it out. Right.
- 25:13Speaker 1: And they'd sell you the cigars right there. And it's
- 25:14Speaker 1: like incredible. You watch them do it.
- 25:16Speaker 2: And that is pure contraband too, you know, because that
- 25:20Speaker 2: tobacco is coming from somewhere.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know where they're getting it. I don't
- 25:24Speaker 1: know if they even said.
- 25:25Speaker 2: I don't remember. This was a long time ago.
- 25:26Speaker 1: But, you know, you can't. You can get great cigars
- 25:30Speaker 1: from Nicaragua, great cigars from the Dominican Republic, but there
- 25:34Speaker 1: is a difference.
- 25:34Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a difference. It's crazy.
- 25:36Speaker 1: You know, it's a really small area, too, where they
- 25:39Speaker 1: grow the best.
- 25:39Speaker 2: It's a little tiny place. Actually, you can still buy
- 25:42Speaker 2: pre-embargo Cuban cigars in America. So if it was rolled
- 25:47Speaker 2: and brought into the country before the embargo, they're legal.
- 25:50Speaker 2: And there's a market for them. And they're expensive. Pre-embargo
- 25:53Speaker 2: Cuban cigars. How old are those? Well, they have to
- 25:57Speaker 2: have been kept the whole time in humidors. Whoa. But
- 26:01Speaker 2: these big, rich guys that, you know, cigars were a penny.
- 26:05Speaker 2: And then Cuban cigars came available, and they were a nickel.
- 26:08Speaker 2: Nobody's going to pay a nickel. You know, this is
- 26:10Speaker 2: 120 years ago.
- 26:11Speaker 7: Wow.
- 26:14Speaker 2: But it turns out they did pay a nickel, and
- 26:16Speaker 2: they were just that much better. And then those guys,
- 26:18Speaker 2: when they heard about that embargo, they bought everything there
- 26:20Speaker 2: was and built these huge humidors. And when they died,
- 26:24Speaker 2: those things went on the market. Oh, wow. I stayed
- 26:28Speaker 2: at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco. And they have
- 26:32Speaker 2: a Cuban cigar outlet in that hotel. Whoa. I bought
- 26:36Speaker 2: one because it was like $ 200.
- 26:38Speaker 1: So it was like a 1960 cigar?
- 26:42Speaker 2: 62 or something like that.
- 26:42Speaker 1: That's crazy. See if you can find those online. Are
- 26:45Speaker 1: those available online?
- 26:47Speaker 2: I'm sure they are.
- 26:48Speaker 1: That's a crazy thing.
- 26:49Speaker 2: Yeah, it's pre-embargo Cubans.
- 26:50Speaker 1: You know, JFK did that before he made the embargo.
- 26:55Speaker 1: He bought a shitload of cigars and brought them back.
- 26:58Speaker 1: You motherfucker.
- 26:59Speaker 2: Yeah, and he knew what he was doing. You motherfucker.
- 27:01Speaker 2: He knew what he was doing.
- 27:02Speaker 1: You motherfucker.
- 27:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:03Speaker 1: You did that, and then you made them illegal.
- 27:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:08Speaker 1: What's up?
- 27:09Speaker 3: I had to click when I was 18 plus on
- 27:11Speaker 3: Reddit to look at a picture of them. It says
- 27:14Speaker 3: it's NSFW content, and it's just pictures of cigars.
- 27:18Speaker 1: Why is that not safe for work?
- 27:19Speaker 3: I have no idea. It looks like the whole cigar
- 27:21Speaker 3: thing is all NSFW.
- 27:23Speaker 1: Pre-embargo 1962. Are those for sale or they're just photos?
- 27:27Speaker 1: I was just finding a photo.
- 27:28Speaker 3: I thought that was super strange.
- 27:30Speaker 1: That is super strange.
- 27:31Speaker 3: I probably can't find them on eBay, I bet.
- 27:33Speaker 1: It's porn for cigar people, right? They just want to
- 27:36Speaker 1: stare at them.
- 27:37Speaker 2: I felt it move.
- 27:41Speaker 1: What is it about men who love collecting things that
- 27:44Speaker 1: are hard to get?
- 27:47Speaker 2: Well, I think that once you have money and then
- 27:51Speaker 2: all the things you thought you wanted, you get those,
- 27:53Speaker 2: and then you want something you can't have.
- 27:55Speaker 1: This is not too bad. This is one that's 300
- 27:57Speaker 1: bucks for one cigar. One or for a bundle of 25.
- 28:01Speaker 2: What? Really?
- 28:02Speaker 3: I think it's a bundle of 25.
- 28:03Speaker 1: That's ridiculous. That's really cheap. That's cheap for any Cuban cigar.
- 28:07Speaker 2: Wow.
- 28:08Speaker 1: That can't be possible.
- 28:09Speaker 2: No. I paid more than that for it.
- 28:13Speaker 1: These guys are fucking you.
- 28:14Speaker 3: Probably fake. This is how you get.
- 28:15Speaker 2: I bet. Maybe it's not.
- 28:16Speaker 3: Stumble across fake sneakers really quickly.
- 28:19Speaker 1: But is that really? Look at the reviews. You think
- 28:22Speaker 1: it's real? It's all four stars. I would just say if.
- 28:24Speaker 3: You guys are already saying the price isn't right, this
- 28:26Speaker 3: is some fake shit.
- 28:26Speaker 1: I don't know. Ron would be the one to know.
- 28:29Speaker 1: I didn't even know about this until 20 minutes ago.
- 28:31Speaker 1: Maybe it's real.
- 28:32Speaker 3: This is how people. I'm telling you to buy fake Jordans.
- 28:34Speaker 1: Jamie, let's order a box.
- 28:36Speaker 2: I can't imagine that.
- 28:37Speaker 1: Order a box, please. Add to cart.
- 28:39Speaker 3: Who's going to smoke it first and test it?
- 28:41Speaker 1: Me.
- 28:41Speaker 2: I will.
- 28:42Speaker 3: I will.
- 28:42Speaker 1: Ron and I will. We'll bring it to the club.
- 28:47Speaker 1: Just pause that. Just put that aside. Send it to me.
- 28:50Speaker 1: I'll order a box. We'll see what's up.
- 28:52Speaker 2: All right.
- 28:53Speaker 1: As long as we don't get in trouble. That's totally legal?
- 28:56Speaker 2: Yeah, it's totally legal.
- 28:57Speaker 1: It didn't say that in the other thing. It didn't
- 28:59Speaker 1: say pre-embargo.
- 29:01Speaker 3: Here's a review. First five-pack I bought was not good.
- 29:04Speaker 3: Every single cigar was plugged and didn't have a smooth
- 29:06Speaker 3: and easy draw. Not just from this particular cigar, but
- 29:09Speaker 3: Camacho as a whole.
- 29:10Speaker 2: And he still gave him four stars?
- 29:12Speaker 1: However, the handwritten thank you card I received, I never forgot.
- 29:17Speaker 1: It gave Cigar City a second chance to the latest
- 29:20Speaker 1: five-pack I bought. It was well worth the price. It's
- 29:22Speaker 1: a sad day when the Cuba tobacco bundlers for this
- 29:25Speaker 1: cigar are all used up. This may be my number
- 29:27Speaker 1: one favorite cigar hands down. The transition between each third
- 29:32Speaker 1: is absolutely incredible. So the first five-pack sucked, and the
- 29:35Speaker 1: second five-pack was insane.
- 29:37Speaker 5: Interesting.
- 29:38Speaker 2: Huh. Well, they're cheap, so.
- 29:40Speaker 3: Have— They have ten reviews total, seven or fives, and
- 29:44Speaker 3: three or fours. I'm just saying. Eight.
- 29:48Speaker 1: All right. Take a swing at five cigars. Fuck it.
- 29:52Speaker 2: You can handle it. Yeah, we'll see what's up. Let's
- 29:54Speaker 2: say you get beat at it.
- 29:55Speaker 1: We'll be all right. I bought dumber shit.
- 30:00Speaker 2: No.
- 30:00Speaker 1: For sure. How's that fucking Corvette you got, baby? How's
- 30:04Speaker 1: that thing?
- 30:05Speaker 2: Somebody wants to buy it from me. You know who? Who?
- 30:09Speaker 2: Jay McGraw.
- 30:10Speaker 1: Does he?
- 30:11Speaker 4: Oh.
- 30:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:12Speaker 1: He can get one of those. He can get one built.
- 30:14Speaker 1: You don't want to sell yours. Yours is yours.
- 30:16Speaker 2: Yours is set up for you. Yeah, that's my car.
- 30:18Speaker 1: That thing's beautiful, man. Yeah, you can't sell that. You
- 30:21Speaker 1: have to keep that. Someday when you die, that'll go
- 30:24Speaker 1: on auction. It'll be worth a fuckload of money. That
- 30:26Speaker 1: thing is beautiful. And it's got a bar in the trunk.
- 30:30Speaker 2: It doesn't have it anymore. I took it out because
- 30:34Speaker 2: it didn't have a top because I wanted that bar
- 30:37Speaker 2: for whatever fucking reason, Joe.
- 30:39Speaker 1: Did you get Colvin in Austin? Did they do the
- 30:43Speaker 1: work on it? I think they did, right?
- 30:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:45Speaker 1: Casey? Yeah, he's the best.
- 30:47Speaker 2: They've done some of the work. Some of it was
- 30:49Speaker 2: done in Atlanta. I mean, the basic build was done
- 30:51Speaker 2: in Atlanta, but the setup on it was done by
- 30:53Speaker 2: Kurt Busch's race team. He was testing tires at his
- 30:58Speaker 2: oval track. And he said, bring it out here. Because
- 31:00Speaker 2: he knew I was building it. And he said, I'll
- 31:02Speaker 2: have a guy set it up for you.
- 31:03Speaker 1: Oh, that's awesome.
- 31:04Speaker 2: And so there's footage on the internet of him driving
- 31:07Speaker 2: at 170 miles an hour on an oval track. And
- 31:09Speaker 2: me going, what the fuck, dude? He's doing donuts in it.
- 31:13Speaker 2: I'm like, god damn, I just had that fucking paint job.
- 31:17Speaker 2: You could drive it. Set it up. And he said,
- 31:21Speaker 2: we need to drop that front end an inch in there.
- 31:25Speaker 2: And I said, well, yeah, what if we drop that front? Ron,
- 31:29Speaker 2: we need to drop the front end an inch. You
- 31:30Speaker 2: don't need to ask questions. I'm like, okay, drop the
- 31:34Speaker 2: front end an inch, buddy. You know more about this
- 31:36Speaker 2: shit than I do, don't you?
- 31:37Speaker 1: Those guys, I can't really drive. I can drive. I mean,
- 31:40Speaker 1: I've been around a track a few times. I know
- 31:41Speaker 1: how to drive. But not like these guys. No, they
- 31:44Speaker 1: feel things that you and I wouldn't feel. They're like, oh,
- 31:47Speaker 1: the left camber is off. This is off. There's something
- 31:49Speaker 1: going on.
- 31:50Speaker 2: It's, you know.
- 31:51Speaker 1: They have all, you know, the understeer is off, something's off.
- 31:54Speaker 1: I don't like these tires. Like, they feel it with
- 31:56Speaker 1: their ass.
- 31:57Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. And they did a beautiful fucking job on it.
- 32:00Speaker 2: And it's so much fun to drive. It scares me
- 32:02Speaker 2: a little bit because, you know, it's just got so
- 32:06Speaker 2: much power.
- 32:07Speaker 1: It's so light.
- 32:08Speaker 2: And nothing to it. But running over 500 horsepower, I
- 32:13Speaker 2: just had fuel injection put on it. Because it was
- 32:17Speaker 2: running kind of rough early on, you know, when I'd
- 32:19Speaker 2: get a start and start cold. But now it just, boom, boom. Yeah.
- 32:22Speaker 1: Was it a carburetor set up before that?
- 32:24Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 32:25Speaker 1: Those stink, too. The problem is they make your whole
- 32:27Speaker 1: car stink like gasoline.
- 32:28Speaker 2: Like, whew.
- 32:29Speaker 1: I used to like that.
- 32:31Speaker 2: I still like the smell of gasoline.
- 32:32Speaker 1: There's something about you getting in an old muscle car.
- 32:34Speaker 1: You smell that gasoline. You're like, yeah, America. It's just
- 32:39Speaker 1: a lot of it is nostalgia, you know. Nostalgia from
- 32:43Speaker 1: the time when I was a kid, muscle cars were
- 32:46Speaker 1: the thing.
- 32:47Speaker 2: Well, mine was born the same year I was, 1956.
- 32:50Speaker 2: So it's been around 70 years, that car, just like me,
- 32:56Speaker 2: still running, just like me.
- 32:58Speaker 1: Right, but it's got all new parts.
- 33:00Speaker 2: Yeah, it's not the same car.
- 33:01Speaker 1: We've got to work on that with you.
- 33:03Speaker 2: We could have driven away what we didn't use.
- 33:05Speaker 1: Yeah, that's the same with mine, my 65. There's nothing
- 33:08Speaker 1: in that other than the outside.
- 33:10Speaker 2: Right, that's all mine is too. Some of the frame,
- 33:12Speaker 2: I mean everything.
- 33:13Speaker 1: Dashboard and some of that stuff. Everything else, you know,
- 33:17Speaker 1: it's got an Art Morrison chassis on it and coilover
- 33:21Speaker 1: springs and disc brakes and supercharger. It's got an LS
- 33:26Speaker 1: engine in it. That thing is, there's nothing about that that's.
- 33:30Speaker 2: An old car. I got to tell you, that year's
- 33:33Speaker 2: is the prettiest Corvette I've seen. When I first saw
- 33:36Speaker 2: that one, I was like, man, I didn't think anybody
- 33:38Speaker 2: could beat me in the Corvette department. That thing's stunning.
- 33:42Speaker 2: That thing's a dream boat.
- 33:44Speaker 1: When I first saw it, I was like, oh, shit.
- 33:46Speaker 1: When I first saw it, it was a lot different.
- 33:47Speaker 1: I brought it to my friend Steve Strope. When I
- 33:50Speaker 1: first saw it, it had the grossest interior. It had
- 33:53Speaker 1: cheap Corvette bucket seats from maybe like a C4 Corvette
- 33:59Speaker 1: or a C5. They were terrible seats. And the interior sucked,
- 34:02Speaker 1: and the shifter sucked. And it was a little underpowered.
- 34:08Speaker 1: It didn't have the supercharger in it. And I brought
- 34:10Speaker 1: it to Steve Strope. But it did have the chassis.
- 34:12Speaker 1: And so we upgraded the suspension. And then he upgraded
- 34:16Speaker 1: everything else and completely redid the interior and put, like,
- 34:19Speaker 1: really solid bucket seats that grip you and wider tire
- 34:24Speaker 1: and brakes set up. And we got those cool wheels.
- 34:26Speaker 1: Those wheels are sick.
- 34:27Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what really set it off.
- 34:30Speaker 1: Show a photo of that, Jamie. There's a photo of
- 34:32Speaker 1: me with Jay Leno when I did Jay Leno's garage
- 34:35Speaker 1: with it. The wheels are controversial. People either love them
- 34:38Speaker 1: or they hate them. I fucking love them. I think
- 34:40Speaker 1: it just... I wouldn't like them on... I don't think
- 34:42Speaker 1: on many cars, but on that car, it's like the
- 34:44Speaker 1: perfect wheel for it.
- 34:46Speaker 2: What's that green car? I saw you driving out last night.
- 34:49Speaker 1: Yeah, that's my other Corvette.
- 34:51Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. Look at that son of a bitch. Look
- 34:52Speaker 2: at that.
- 34:52Speaker 1: Those wheels rule, dude.
- 34:54Speaker 2: Those are fucking badass wheels, man. They rule for that car.
- 34:58Speaker 1: That thing is sick. So that was all red. The
- 35:01Speaker 1: stripe was red. Steve Strope turned it black.
- 35:04Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 35:05Speaker 1: Did the wheels and did everything. He really tuned it
- 35:07Speaker 1: in nice where it's just dialed in.
- 35:09Speaker 2: Yeah, that's badass.
- 35:10Speaker 1: It's so fun, man. That's me and Jay. He's the
- 35:13Speaker 1: only other guy that's driven it other than me. I
- 35:16Speaker 1: think it's fun. And again, it weighs nothing. It's probably
- 35:20Speaker 1: got 550 horsepower now with the supercharger.
- 35:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I won't let anybody drive mine, but I'll let
- 35:26Speaker 2: you drive it. All right.
- 35:28Speaker 1: Let's go. Well, you know we're setting up a studio
- 35:30Speaker 1: at the track.
- 35:31Speaker 2: A what?
- 35:32Speaker 1: We're setting up another studio at the racetrack.
- 35:35Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. You told me about that at the races
- 35:37Speaker 2: a couple years ago or whatever it was.
- 35:41Speaker 1: Sometime around November-ish, we'll start doing podcasts out of there.
- 35:45Speaker 1: I hope to get it done right around the time
- 35:48Speaker 1: Formula One is in town. That would be fun. So
- 35:50Speaker 1: I can get some drivers on and do some podcasts
- 35:53Speaker 1: from there. So we'll be able to go around the track.
- 35:56Speaker 2: Are you going to do all of them in there?
- 35:57Speaker 1: No, some of them. Both places. So we'll be able
- 35:59Speaker 1: to go around the track, take guys around the track.
- 36:02Speaker 1: Take people that have never been around the track. And
- 36:03Speaker 1: what I want to do is, like, bring in car companies. Like, so,
- 36:06Speaker 1: you know, Mustang has this new dark horse Mustang.
- 36:08Speaker 2: It's crazy.
- 36:09Speaker 1: 600 horsepower, crazy Mustang. Like, let's let people drive it.
- 36:14Speaker 1: You want to sell some Mustangs? Let these guys drive
- 36:16Speaker 1: it just for funsies. We'll take some pictures and then
- 36:19Speaker 1: we'll do a podcast. Talk some shit, you know, with whatever, musicians, comics, people.
- 36:24Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 36:25Speaker 1: And then, you know, have fun on the racetrack.
- 36:27Speaker 2: Yeah, we see a ton of those guys out at
- 36:28Speaker 2: Driftwood out of my golf course. A lot of those
- 36:30Speaker 2: guys are golfers, and they all go out there and
- 36:34Speaker 2: play golf whenever they're in town.
- 36:36Speaker 1: Oh, I'm sure. Race car driving and golfing. You know,
- 36:39Speaker 1: I really wish I could get into golf, and I
- 36:40Speaker 1: probably will someday.
- 36:42Speaker 2: I probably will.
- 36:43Speaker 1: I'll probably be forced into it.
- 36:44Speaker 2: It's a lot like shooting a bow.
- 36:48Speaker 1: Don't tell me that, because then I can't do it.
- 36:52Speaker 2: I mean, in that you never do the exact same
- 36:55Speaker 2: thing twice. You know, the shot's going to be either
- 36:59Speaker 2: further or shorter or the wind's going to be coming
- 37:01Speaker 2: from some other way or whatever. So you really have to.
- 37:05Speaker 2: And the big difference is when you cock a bow
- 37:08Speaker 2: or whatever you call it, that's where all the power is, right?
- 37:12Speaker 2: It's already in there. It's built in. You don't have
- 37:14Speaker 2: to generate it now. Right. You just aim it. But golf,
- 37:17Speaker 2: you have to generate all the power with your body. Yeah.
- 37:21Speaker 2: Which is hard to learn how to do.
- 37:23Speaker 1: Well, I watched Jamie. I watch Jamie do it all
- 37:26Speaker 1: the time. You ever seen Jamie whack a ball? That
- 37:29Speaker 1: fucking dude can get some distance. Jamie can whack a ball.
- 37:32Speaker 2: Jamie, you want to come out to Driftwood and play
- 37:34Speaker 2: golf with me?
- 37:35Speaker 3: I'd love to play at Driftwood.
- 37:36Speaker 2: Huh?
- 37:36Speaker 3: Driftwood's a great place. I'd love to play there anytime.
- 37:39Speaker 2: I'll take you out there.
- 37:42Speaker 1: What's your furthest drive?
- 37:43Speaker 3: Well, I mean, it's all dependent, but I've hit it
- 37:47Speaker 3: over 300 yards, which isn't that important, as Ron would know.
- 37:49Speaker 3: It's all about what hole you're hitting it on and
- 37:53Speaker 3: is it worth it hitting it 300 yards in that hole.
- 37:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:56Speaker 1: How far can you drive a ball?
- 37:58Speaker 2: You know, I hit the ball at 235, 240, something
- 38:03Speaker 2: like that. But, you know, if I really get into one,
- 38:06Speaker 2: I catch a sweet spot, you know, maybe 255, which
- 38:10Speaker 2: is nothing compared to 300. But if you find a
- 38:12Speaker 2: 70-year-old dude that can do it, then.
- 38:15Speaker 1: What is like an elite golfer, like the best driver?
- 38:18Speaker 1: How far do they go?
- 38:19Speaker 2: It would be Rory McIlroy probably at about 325 average.
- 38:25Speaker 2: So 100 yards. They hit the ball 100 yards further
- 38:28Speaker 2: than me.
- 38:28Speaker 1: I played with– Jamie, you're only 25 yards off of
- 38:31Speaker 1: some of the best golfers?
- 38:32Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, no.
- 38:33Speaker 3: That's not how I would even word it.
- 38:35Speaker 2: Yeah, you're in the middle of the fairway.
- 38:37Speaker 3: You're saying like how far have I ever hit it,
- 38:39Speaker 3: which is what I'm answering. It's not how far do
- 38:41Speaker 3: I hit it, which is like your average. Would you
- 38:43Speaker 3: take out your tops, take out your lows?
- 38:45Speaker 1: I see what you're saying.
- 38:46Speaker 2: What's your average?
- 38:46Speaker 1: Well, that's very humble of you. I'd be– Bragging my
- 38:49Speaker 1: ass off.
- 38:50Speaker 2: 300 yards, bitch.
- 38:51Speaker 3: No, because then I'm.
- 38:52Speaker 2: On their ass.
- 38:53Speaker 1: I can't prove it.
- 38:54Speaker 2: Fucking hat.
- 38:55Speaker 1: I'm on their ass. I'm going to hit 320. Have
- 38:58Speaker 1: you seen those guys that go to those driving ranges
- 39:00Speaker 1: and they have these crazy swings where they completely spin
- 39:05Speaker 1: and then rotate their body? They almost do a 180
- 39:08Speaker 1: and then smash it. Those guys, it's got to be
- 39:12Speaker 1: way over 300.
- 39:12Speaker 2: Yeah, they're hitting it four.
- 39:14Speaker 3: Sometimes 500 yards in some cases. That's crazy. They're using
- 39:17Speaker 3: specialized equipment. They're playing in a specialized place.
- 39:21Speaker 2: But they still can't play the game of golf. Right.
- 39:24Speaker 2: That's different. Right. Or usually. I mean, usually there might
- 39:27Speaker 2: be a two or three handicap. They'll be decent at golf. Right.
- 39:30Speaker 2: But the elite guys, they can't touch them in the game.
- 39:35Speaker 1: Yeah, there's a similarity in pool, and that's the break shot.
- 39:39Speaker 3: This guy's the current champion.
- 39:41Speaker 6: 579.
- 39:41Speaker 2: Jesus, Kyle.
- 39:41Speaker 1: Yeah. That's insane.
- 39:46Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a fucking half a mile, isn't it? It is.
- 39:50Speaker 3: This isn't even like 425. This is on a course.
- 39:54Speaker 3: He's probably got a three wheel.
- 39:55Speaker 1: Oh my God. He's a big dude.
- 39:57Speaker 3: He's also playing out and he's getting a little bit
- 39:59Speaker 3: of help with elevation out there. You can tell he's
- 40:01Speaker 3: out in the mountains.
- 40:02Speaker 2: Right.
- 40:03Speaker 1: A little help.
- 40:03Speaker 7: Wow.
- 40:04Speaker 2: A little help.
- 40:04Speaker 3: But that's what you want. You want to hit it
- 40:05Speaker 3: on the green. That's kind of what's way more important.
- 40:07Speaker 2: 410 yards. Yeah, if you can do that. That's bonkers.
- 40:11Speaker 1: That's bonkers. Wait until some of those, like, super athlete
- 40:14Speaker 1: NFL players get involved in golf.
- 40:15Speaker 3: LeBron's gotten involved recently.
- 40:17Speaker 2: Oh, God.
- 40:18Speaker 3: And he started a YouTube channel, but he obviously doesn't
- 40:22Speaker 3: have a ton of time to play.
- 40:23Speaker 2: Right.
- 40:23Speaker 1: Because he's busy.
- 40:24Speaker 3: But his growth in the year he's played is pretty remarkable.
- 40:28Speaker 2: Of course.
- 40:28Speaker 1: He's a super athlete. Same with Justin Gaethje.
- 40:32Speaker 3: He's really good to start, but he's played forever.
- 40:34Speaker 1: Justin?
- 40:35Speaker 3: Didn't he say he took six months off or three
- 40:37Speaker 3: months off and played every single day?
- 40:39Speaker 1: Well, what happened was when he got hurt in the
- 40:41Speaker 1: Max Holloway fight, he didn't do nothing for a long time.
- 40:45Speaker 1: And he just let his body heal, let his brain heal.
- 40:48Speaker 1: And he played golf every day for like a year.
- 40:50Speaker 1: And DC was saying, like, dude, he got so fucking good.
- 40:54Speaker 1: But of course, he's an athlete. Like, if you're a
- 40:57Speaker 1: world champion MMA fighter, you can kind of do anything
- 41:00Speaker 1: if you set your mind to it. You can play golf.
- 41:02Speaker 1: He could skateboard. He could do whatever the fuck he wants.
- 41:05Speaker 2: Because those guys also are ridiculously flexible, right?
- 41:09Speaker 1: He's not that flexible. He's loose, though.
- 41:11Speaker 2: That's kind of what matters more. I mean, I went
- 41:14Speaker 2: to stretch zone today. You know, that's where I go to.
- 41:17Speaker 1: You go to stretch zone? Do you go to someone
- 41:19Speaker 1: stretches you?
- 41:20Speaker 2: It's the best thing in the world, man. It's kind
- 41:24Speaker 2: of resistant stretching, which it takes an hour. And they
- 41:28Speaker 2: just have you on a table and they're just bending
- 41:30Speaker 2: you around. And, boy, you can play some golf when
- 41:32Speaker 2: you get off of that. Really? Nothing frees up your
- 41:35Speaker 2: lower back. You've got to be able to.
- 41:36Speaker 1: How many people are doing it?
- 41:38Speaker 2: Just one person.
- 41:39Speaker 1: One guy's just holding you down and twisting you.
- 41:40Speaker 2: Yeah, but they've also got straps where they strap you
- 41:42Speaker 2: to the table. So, I mean, they can do things
- 41:44Speaker 2: to you.
- 41:44Speaker 1: That you can't do to yourself.
- 41:46Speaker 2: You just can't get that kind of stretch in.
- 41:48Speaker 1: Interesting.
- 41:48Speaker 2: And I fucking love the place. And it seems like,
- 41:52Speaker 2: and it's never busy, and it seems like that, because
- 41:56Speaker 2: there are tons of old guys out there playing golf.
- 41:59Speaker 2: Every one of them should be on that table. It
- 42:02Speaker 2: fixes everything.
- 42:03Speaker 1: Do you do anything to work out, to, like, strengthen
- 42:06Speaker 1: your body other than playing golf? No. You should probably do, like,
- 42:10Speaker 1: a light kettlebell routine.
- 42:12Speaker 2: I'm not going to do a kettlebell, but maybe some
- 42:16Speaker 2: rubber bands or something.
- 42:17Speaker 1: Kettlebells are not hard, man. You don't have to be
- 42:19Speaker 1: lifting something heavy.
- 42:20Speaker 2: I've seen video of you doing it. It looked like
- 42:21Speaker 2: it would break me in half.
- 42:22Speaker 1: Yeah, but you don't have to do that weight. You
- 42:24Speaker 1: can do a real light weight. A light weight is
- 42:26Speaker 1: a great workout. Sometimes I do, like if I'm not
- 42:28Speaker 1: feeling that good, I'll do just a routine that I
- 42:30Speaker 1: do with.
- 42:31Speaker 2: A 35-pound kettlebell.
- 42:33Speaker 1: If I just want to break a sweat, I don't
- 42:36Speaker 1: want to really exert myself, but I want movement and
- 42:39Speaker 1: I want my tissue to loosen up, I'll do a
- 42:41Speaker 1: whole routine with a 35-pound kettlebell.
- 42:44Speaker 2: Yeah, there's no doubt about it. I should do more.
- 42:46Speaker 1: It would be great for your golf, though. There's a
- 42:48Speaker 1: lot of things you do like rotational twists things that
- 42:51Speaker 1: would be really good for just generating force with your
- 42:54Speaker 1: drive and just control of your body, just overall body control.
- 42:59Speaker 2: Yeah. I know that I lost some muscle when I
- 43:03Speaker 2: was just losing weight with Ozempic or whatever it was.
- 43:07Speaker 2: And so I know I could get more. And I
- 43:10Speaker 2: know that the whole secret to me getting to be
- 43:12Speaker 2: 80 and still mobile is leg strength. Yeah. And I
- 43:16Speaker 2: was really kind of impressed with myself in Switzerland because
- 43:19Speaker 2: I was getting around pretty good, you know, because I
- 43:22Speaker 2: do– you know, I do– whatever testosterone and human growth
- 43:28Speaker 2: and all that kind of stuff. So it does make
- 43:29Speaker 2: my muscles stronger. Cause I was, I was doing things.
- 43:32Speaker 2: I'm like, there's no way I get up to the
- 43:34Speaker 2: top of that thing. And I'm just chug on up
- 43:36Speaker 2: there out of breath, but my legs are fine. You know? Yeah.
- 43:39Speaker 1: It makes you, your body behave like a younger body.
- 43:41Speaker 1: That's the whole key. People miss out on that because
- 43:44Speaker 1: they're afraid of the stigma attached to taking testosterone. Like, look,
- 43:47Speaker 1: your body doesn't make it anymore. When your body makes it,
- 43:50Speaker 1: you feel better. Get all this ideological shit out of
- 43:52Speaker 1: your head. especially like a lot of my like left-wing
- 43:55Speaker 1: friends are very adverse to the idea of taking testosterone. Like, look,
- 43:59Speaker 1: you don't have to take a lot of it. It's not,
- 44:01Speaker 1: it's not what we're saying. We're not saying get on steroids.
- 44:03Speaker 1: What we're saying is bring your body back to levels
- 44:05Speaker 1: that it had, like when you were 30 and you'll
- 44:08Speaker 1: feel so much better. Your immune system will work better.
- 44:10Speaker 1: You'll sleep better.
- 44:11Speaker 2: Look, I mean, just look at me, the difference from
- 44:14Speaker 2: when I came to Austin and you came to Austin and, uh, And, uh,
- 44:19Speaker 2: and then I was still drinking really, really hard and
- 44:22Speaker 2: ridiculously hard. And, uh, but I was 30 pounds heavier and, uh, sluggish.
- 44:29Speaker 2: I never felt good. And, uh, and today I just, after,
- 44:34Speaker 2: you know, just doing, going to ways the well and,
- 44:37Speaker 2: you know, taking all that stuff. And I got to
- 44:39Speaker 2: tell you, I feel better than I haven't fucking ever. Uh,
- 44:44Speaker 2: I am just, I think that, that everything in my
- 44:48Speaker 2: life is, is stronger than it was then. I mean,
- 44:50Speaker 2: I think the stand-up's even stronger.
- 44:52Speaker 1: I think it is too. And I think you add
- 44:55Speaker 1: on to that like a little bit of weightlifting. I
- 44:57Speaker 1: don't mean anything crazy. And one of the best things
- 45:00Speaker 1: you could do is what's called a farmer's carry. Just
- 45:02Speaker 1: get a couple dumbbells and just walk. You can walk
- 45:05Speaker 1: around your property. You can walk around your street. I
- 45:08Speaker 1: do like a couple hundred yards and then a couple
- 45:10Speaker 1: hundred yards back. I go up a hill and then
- 45:12Speaker 1: I go down a hill. The whole thing takes me
- 45:13Speaker 1: like 15 minutes. It's phenomenal for your body. Like carrying things,
- 45:18Speaker 1: like carrying heavy things is really good for you, man.
- 45:20Speaker 1: It's great for your grip strength. It's great for your back,
- 45:23Speaker 1: your core, like everything. Everything felt like right when I
- 45:27Speaker 1: first started doing it, my body was like, oh, yeah,
- 45:30Speaker 1: do more of this. It's like intuitively I was like, oh,
- 45:34Speaker 1: this is tying everything together. Like moving weight around I
- 45:38Speaker 1: think is very important. Not just standing there and like
- 45:40Speaker 1: pressing and doing stuff like stationary. I think there's some
- 45:43Speaker 1: real benefit in like walking with stuff because you've got
- 45:46Speaker 1: to balance it. It's heavy and you're moving around. Your
- 45:49Speaker 1: grip gets tired and you have to set it down
- 45:51Speaker 1: and then you fucking– How.
- 45:52Speaker 2: Much weight are you carrying, 200 yards?
- 45:55Speaker 1: 140 pounds.
- 45:56Speaker 2: Oh, fuck, dude. I saw two little weights in your hands.
- 46:02Speaker 1: Well, these– the kettle– this might be a different time
- 46:04Speaker 1: you saw me, but I don't think there's any video
- 46:06Speaker 1: of me doing that. But these kettlebells, they're each 70 pounds.
- 46:09Speaker 1: So I have one in each hand. So it's 140
- 46:11Speaker 1: pounds total, and I'm walking up this hill, and then
- 46:13Speaker 1: I'm walking down the hill. And I do it every
- 46:16Speaker 1: other day. It's phenomenal.
- 46:18Speaker 2: And then you work out every single day.
- 46:20Speaker 1: Yeah, every day. Every day I do something. I have
- 46:23Speaker 1: to do something. Just for sanity.
- 46:26Speaker 2: Yeah. I guess if you're not moving forward, you're moving backwards.
- 46:29Speaker 1: I just want to maintain and also sanity. The real
- 46:33Speaker 1: thing is sanity. The world's nuts. Like, one great way to, like,
- 46:37Speaker 1: alleviate some of the pressure of paying attention to how
- 46:40Speaker 1: nuts the world is, is do something really hard. Do
- 46:44Speaker 1: a hard workout. Do a yoga class. Do something difficult.
- 46:47Speaker 1: Just something that takes you out of it for a
- 46:49Speaker 1: minute and just relaxes you.
- 46:50Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 46:51Speaker 2: I'd like to get back into yoga again. I did
- 46:53Speaker 2: that for a while, and it was so good for me.
- 46:54Speaker 1: That's one of the best things, I bet, for golf.
- 46:56Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, it is. No doubt about it. And then
- 46:58Speaker 2: you play forever.
- 46:58Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 47:00Speaker 2: Do yoga. I had this hot little yoga instructor come
- 47:02Speaker 2: over to my house. And it was just a great
- 47:04Speaker 2: way to just fucking start the day. And I did
- 47:07Speaker 2: it every day.
- 47:08Speaker 1: What happened?
- 47:09Speaker 2: Well, other girlfriends didn't like her because she was too hot.
- 47:12Speaker 2: I'm like, I don't know if I'm willing to fade
- 47:14Speaker 2: all the heat. Just for some yoga where all my
- 47:17Speaker 2: motives suck anyway. I just wanted to be near the.
- 47:21Speaker 1: There's something very hot about yoga ladies too. Like a
- 47:25Speaker 1: really good one.
- 47:26Speaker 2: Yeah. Oof. Yeah, so I'm going to get back into something.
- 47:30Speaker 2: We met a female trainer the other day that's friends
- 47:33Speaker 2: with John Paul and Eloise, and so we're going to
- 47:37Speaker 2: hire her to start coming over to the house. Oh,
- 47:39Speaker 2: there you go.
- 47:40Speaker 1: That's a good move.
- 47:40Speaker 2: Start working it. Yeah, because I'll do more with a woman. Really? Yeah.
- 47:47Speaker 1: Just to show her that you can do it?
- 47:48Speaker 2: You know, just, I don't know. I just show up
- 47:52Speaker 2: for it if it's a woman. For some fucking reason.
- 47:56Speaker 1: This episode is sponsored by BetterHelp. Imagine waking up tomorrow

- 48:56Speaker 2: But yeah, that's what I need to focus on for next,
- 49:01Speaker 2: you know.
- 49:01Speaker 1: Yeah, you got to keep the body healthy. You know,
- 49:04Speaker 1: your body's healthier now that it's been before. Now you
- 49:06Speaker 1: got to start strengthening it. It's Real simple. And you can.
- 49:09Speaker 1: There's no reason to get weak. Other than an injury,
- 49:13Speaker 1: other than something that's wrong with you, it's out of
- 49:15Speaker 1: your control, there's no reason. No reason to just be weak.
- 49:20Speaker 1: You can be healthier.
- 49:20Speaker 2: Yeah. I'm after it.
- 49:23Speaker 1: It's fun, too. You have more energy for other stuff,
- 49:26Speaker 1: you know. Your life has more. You have more vitality.
- 49:30Speaker 2: It'll only get better, Joe. It'll only get better.
- 49:33Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying, dog.
- 49:35Speaker 2: How come people are ragging on our club, man?
- 49:37Speaker 1: Who's ragging on our club?
- 49:39Speaker 2: I've watched it on TikTok before. Goddamn mothership.
- 49:43Speaker 1: It's a walled garden. Someone warned me about that a
- 49:45Speaker 1: long time ago. This philosopher guy that I know. He said,
- 49:48Speaker 1: you got to be careful because, like, it looks like
- 49:50Speaker 1: you guys are having too much fun and other people
- 49:52Speaker 1: can't get in. And they feel like it's a walled garden.
- 49:54Speaker 1: They want to shit on it. You know, the thing is, like,
- 49:56Speaker 1: people are like, what? Because we're all friends in there.
- 49:58Speaker 1: It's because, like, it's a very intimate group of friends.
- 50:02Speaker 2: And we don't know when somebody else is going to
- 50:04Speaker 2: come in there and listen to us bullshitting and then
- 50:06Speaker 2: go jabber away to some fucking buddy else.
- 50:10Speaker 1: Or get upset at some of the things that someone
- 50:11Speaker 1: says because some people say horrible things in that room
- 50:14Speaker 1: and don't even mean it because it's funny. They say
- 50:16Speaker 1: it to be funny. And then there's– I've seen some
- 50:18Speaker 1: of that. One of the things that I've seen is
- 50:22Speaker 1: people that are talking about like the kind of comedy
- 50:25Speaker 1: that they hear there. And what they're talking about is
- 50:28Speaker 1: Brian Holtzman. And they were talking about this guy, he's
- 50:31Speaker 1: yelling about gay people.
- 50:32Speaker 2: Hold on.
- 50:33Speaker 1: You're talking about Brian Holtzman. What that is is like
- 50:39Speaker 1: the comedy version of death metal.
- 50:41Speaker 2: Okay.
- 50:42Speaker 1: Death metal. Some people like death metal.
- 50:44Speaker 2: Right.
- 50:44Speaker 1: You don't have to like death metal.
- 50:45Speaker 2: And you don't have to watch it or listen to it.
- 50:46Speaker 1: You might be into opera, but that guy is fucking hilarious.
- 50:51Speaker 1: And offstage, the sweetest, nicest guy you ever want to meet.
- 50:54Speaker 2: Nicest person there is.
- 50:56Speaker 1: Onstage, he becomes this fucking maniac. But it's like satire.
- 51:00Speaker 1: It's on purpose. It's not a real person.
- 51:02Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 51:02Speaker 2: It took me a while to get it.
- 51:04Speaker 1: It's brilliant. He's one of the best comics alive. He's
- 51:07Speaker 1: one of the funniest guys I know. He's fucking hilarious.
- 51:09Speaker 1: Is it offensive? 100%. Yeah. Some of the things he's
- 51:12Speaker 1: going to say will offend the fuck out of you.
- 51:15Speaker 1: They will offend the fuck out of you. They offend me.
- 51:17Speaker 1: I'm like, Jesus Christ, Holtzman. But you've got to leave
- 51:20Speaker 1: room for that. There's always got to be room for everything.
- 51:24Speaker 1: There's room for everything. And if it doesn't work, the
- 51:25Speaker 1: people won't laugh. And if they don't laugh, he won't
- 51:27Speaker 1: come back. You know, after a while, that's it. But
- 51:31Speaker 1: they laugh. We laugh hard. And you could say this
- 51:35Speaker 1: is awful that they're laughing at that. And you got
- 51:37Speaker 1: a point. But that's not what it is.
- 51:39Speaker 2: Right. No, I'm telling you, I didn't get it at first.
- 51:42Speaker 2: And because I saw him eat at one time and
- 51:44Speaker 2: I was like, because he can, you know, he can
- 51:47Speaker 2: find a crowd that's tough.
- 51:51Speaker 1: That can happen. But a lot of it now, he's
- 51:53Speaker 1: got his own crowd.
- 51:54Speaker 2: Yeah, his own crowd. They're looking for it.
- 51:56Speaker 1: The other thing that people keep saying is that it's
- 51:57Speaker 1: like a right-wing club. The vast majority of the people
- 52:00Speaker 1: that are in that club, working in that club, are left-wing.
- 52:02Speaker 1: That's crazy talk. People just assume because they connect Tony,
- 52:07Speaker 1: you know, and people also connect.
- 52:09Speaker 2: Me to that.
- 52:11Speaker 1: Mostly I think that's because they don't know me. And
- 52:14Speaker 1: because I look right-wing and because I did kind of
- 52:16Speaker 1: help Trump. But other than that.
- 52:18Speaker 2: Other than that... You think that might be what sent
- 52:22Speaker 2: him over there?
- 52:22Speaker 1: Left wing my whole life.
- 52:25Speaker 2: Well, I know you have very left wing views on
- 52:27Speaker 2: a lot of fucking things.
- 52:29Speaker 1: I have very left wing views on a lot of things.
- 52:30Speaker 1: But I also recognize when government is taking over our lives.
- 52:37Speaker 1: And what we were sold with the Trump administration would
- 52:40Speaker 1: be that would end. And, you know, there'd be a
- 52:43Speaker 1: drain in the swamp. Obviously, it's not been ideal, like
- 52:46Speaker 1: in that regard.
- 52:48Speaker 2: I think it's– yeah, well, you know how I feel
- 52:50Speaker 2: about it.
- 52:50Speaker 1: A lot of people laugh.
- 52:52Speaker 2: And I always have. I mean, I'm left of– certainly
- 52:56Speaker 2: left of some of it, but I also carry a weapon,
- 53:01Speaker 2: and I believe in the death penalty. But for the
- 53:04Speaker 2: most part– I'm a left-leaning faction in the green room,
- 53:13Speaker 2: you know? You and Brian Simpson.
- 53:16Speaker 1: Brian Simpson's very left, too. But, you know, Tony's the
- 53:19Speaker 1: only one who's, like, on the right. Tony's, like, legitimately right-wing.
- 53:22Speaker 2: No, yeah, he's MAGA. That's kind of, well, I guess.
- 53:27Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 53:28Speaker 1: I don't even know if you would say that. But he's, like,
- 53:30Speaker 1: pretty openly right-wing. To the point where me and him
- 53:33Speaker 1: argue about left-wing, right-wing stuff all the time. But it's like,
- 53:38Speaker 1: The problem is not left wing, right wing. The problem
- 53:41Speaker 1: is like rational and insane.
- 53:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 53:44Speaker 1: Like the open borders was insane.
- 53:46Speaker 2: That was horrible fucking. Yeah. Horrible fucking move.
- 53:49Speaker 1: The COVID mandates were insane. Forcing people to get vaccinated
- 53:54Speaker 1: was insane. All that stuff was insane. That stuff scared
- 53:57Speaker 1: the shit out of me. The censorship online was insane.
- 54:00Speaker 1: All the woke nonsense forcing you to use pronouns and
- 54:05Speaker 1: forcing you to never dead name someone or you get
- 54:08Speaker 1: kicked off of Twitter for life. There was so much
- 54:10Speaker 1: insanity that we needed some sort of a break moving
- 54:13Speaker 1: away from that. That was my position. I was like,
- 54:17Speaker 1: this is going to continue because like obviously Biden was
- 54:19Speaker 1: not really the president for four years.
- 54:21Speaker 2: Right.
- 54:22Speaker 1: So the people that were all were running the country
- 54:24Speaker 1: will continue to be running the country. These non-elected people,
- 54:27Speaker 1: it wouldn't be him. And then when she's in, it
- 54:29Speaker 1: would be the same fucking people. It would be the
- 54:31Speaker 1: same people.
- 54:33Speaker 2: I voted for her.
- 54:34Speaker 1: I bet you did.
- 54:35Speaker 2: I did. Because I wouldn't vote for Trump. And also,
- 54:38Speaker 2: they were going after women's rights. Well, I'm going to
- 54:42Speaker 2: side with the women because I don't like any kind
- 54:43Speaker 2: of candidate, but I'm going to vote. You mean abortion.
- 54:46Speaker 2: And then the women didn't go.
- 54:47Speaker 1: You mean abortion, right?
- 54:48Speaker 2: They're like a dumbass holding my dick going, well, where
- 54:51Speaker 2: were y'all?
- 54:53Speaker 1: When you say women's rights, you mean abortion, right?
- 54:54Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 54:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 54:56Speaker 2: Yeah, because, I mean, I'm going to be a grandfather
- 54:58Speaker 2: in a few months. I don't know if you knew
- 55:00Speaker 2: that or not. Congratulations.
- 55:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 55:03Speaker 2: That's awesome. I'm so fucking excited about it. And, I mean,
- 55:08Speaker 2: it's just, I mean, it's happening a little late in
- 55:11Speaker 2: life for me. But, you know, now I'm looking like, well,
- 55:13Speaker 2: if I play my cards right and I live as
- 55:15Speaker 2: long as my mother did, I can see this kid
- 55:17Speaker 2: through fucking high school.
- 55:19Speaker 1: The abortion rights thing is a weird one. You know,
- 55:22Speaker 1: it's like, I don't think I have a right to
- 55:24Speaker 1: tell anybody what to do with their body. I'm not
- 55:27Speaker 1: a woman. I've never been pregnant. I have no idea
- 55:29Speaker 1: what that's like. I have no idea where some guy
- 55:31Speaker 1: gets you pregnant and then takes off and you've got
- 55:33Speaker 1: to make a decision. Or if there's medical issues coming up.
- 55:38Speaker 2: It should be between a family and their doctor. Yeah.
- 55:42Speaker 1: So I really, I can't say anything. But There's a
- 55:47Speaker 1: weirdness to like late-term abortions. And I know most people say, well,
- 55:51Speaker 1: late-term abortions are only in the case where it threatens
- 55:54Speaker 1: the mother's life and no one really wants to do that.
- 55:56Speaker 1: I know someone who got a late-term abortion in New York.
- 55:59Speaker 1: And it was just because the boyfriend didn't want to
- 56:00Speaker 1: have the baby and they waited too long and she
- 56:02Speaker 1: was pregnant. And it scared the shit out of me.
- 56:06Speaker 1: I'm like, you guys just killed a baby. I'm not
- 56:10Speaker 1: saying that happens all the time, but I'm saying just
- 56:12Speaker 1: the fact that that can happen scares the shit out
- 56:15Speaker 1: of me.
- 56:17Speaker 2: Well, aren't there laws against– I mean even before these
- 56:21Speaker 2: laws were passed, weren't there laws saying, well, not pass this?
- 56:24Speaker 1: What did they just pass in Massachusetts? Didn't they just
- 56:27Speaker 1: pass some new abortion law in Massachusetts? I think the
- 56:33Speaker 1: rational thinking is that most women would never want to
- 56:36Speaker 1: abort their baby late term, right? And if someone is
- 56:39Speaker 1: doing that, it has to be extenuating circumstances. And that
- 56:42Speaker 1: it has to be because of, and to eliminate that
- 56:45Speaker 1: possibility and to put someone through like life-threatening situation because
- 56:49Speaker 1: they really do need an abortion and the law says
- 56:51Speaker 1: they can't have an abortion unless they get some exemption.
- 56:53Speaker 1: So they have to prove it. And then the person,
- 56:55Speaker 1: their life is at risk. So I could see how
- 56:58Speaker 1: you would say we will allow late-term abortion so that
- 57:01Speaker 1: this can never present itself. Massachusetts expands abortion access to
- 57:06Speaker 1: any point during pregnancy. On Monday, it joined nine states
- 57:10Speaker 1: and Washington, D.C. in eliminating gestational restrictions on abortions. So
- 57:17Speaker 1: what does this mean exactly? Let's scroll down. I think
- 57:19Speaker 1: this means any time during a pregnancy. So this means
- 57:22Speaker 1: like eight months, two weeks, you can get an abortion.
- 57:26Speaker 1: Most abortions happen when the first trimester. Very few take
- 57:29Speaker 1: place after 24 weeks. The previous limit for abortion in
- 57:32Speaker 1: the Bay State. Those that do occur after that point
- 57:36Speaker 1: often involve situations in which doctors discovered a fetal anomaly
- 57:39Speaker 1: late in the pregnancy. Massachusetts law was championed by major
- 57:44Speaker 1: medical groups, including the National Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine,
- 57:49Speaker 1: the Massachusetts Medical Society, and the state's chapter of the
- 57:52Speaker 1: American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. The law received support
- 57:58Speaker 1: from Kate Dineen, the abortions rights activist whose son died
- 58:02Speaker 1: in utero at 33 weeks. What is it saying?
- 58:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 58:15Speaker 1: So a lot of people are scared of this because
- 58:18Speaker 1: you can have an abortion like really late when the
- 58:22Speaker 1: baby is a baby.
- 58:25Speaker 2: Yeah, well, you know, fuck, I'm not for that, but
- 58:27Speaker 2: I'm for a woman's right to choose. But for the
- 58:33Speaker 2: same reason you just said, I'm not a woman. I
- 58:35Speaker 2: don't know what it's like. I don't want the government
- 58:37Speaker 2: involved in my— Well.
- 58:38Speaker 1: There's some people that think even in the cases of
- 58:40Speaker 1: rape and incest, you shouldn't be able to, which is crazy.
- 58:43Speaker 2: Well, right, because then you get to, if you're a rapist,
- 58:45Speaker 2: you get to go, I want that chick to have
- 58:47Speaker 2: my baby. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, well, whatever.
- 58:52Speaker 1: What are we, in the medieval days? In the old
- 58:55Speaker 1: Viking days.
- 58:57Speaker 2: So what are we going to do about the Texas Senate?
- 59:02Speaker 2: You met Tallarico. You liked the guy, right?
- 59:05Speaker 1: I did like him. I like his thoughts on the
- 59:08Speaker 1: Ten Commandments and schools. public schools. I don't think, I
- 59:12Speaker 1: think he's right. And he's a very religious guy. And
- 59:14Speaker 1: his position is when you put the Ten Commandments in
- 59:16Speaker 1: public schools, what you're really doing is you're forcing Christianity
- 59:20Speaker 1: to them and you're not, you're not, you're probably pushing
- 59:24Speaker 1: them away from Christianity. You're like forcing it on them.
- 59:28Speaker 1: And If you're going to do that, how can you
- 59:29Speaker 1: do that and not have like scripture from the Hindu text,
- 59:34Speaker 1: scripture from the Book of Mormon, Muslim, Islamic text? Why
- 59:40Speaker 1: is it just the Ten Commandments?
- 59:41Speaker 2: Yeah, why isn't there a separation of church and state?
- 59:43Speaker 2: That's a state-run organization.
- 59:45Speaker 3: Yes.
- 59:46Speaker 1: So his position is that, and I think he's probably
- 59:49Speaker 1: right about this, otherwise he'd get sued. is that there's
- 59:52Speaker 1: a couple like very wealthy people who are Christian nationalists
- 59:57Speaker 1: and they want to take over like the school system
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: and turn Texas like completely Christian. And yeah, I think
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: that's scary. That kind of shit is scary because pushing
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: whatever your ideology is. Look, if you invite people into
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: your church and, you know, you're, a person who is
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: of exemplary character, and you're a wonderful guy, and there's
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: something about this guy. Like, wow, this guy, the way
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: he lives his life, man, I think he's really cool
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: and kind. I like to see what this church is
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: all about. That's how you get people to be interested
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: in what you're doing and the way you're promoting life.
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: You can't be force-fed.
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: But you're forcing it on people. You're just going to
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: push them away from it. It always happens that way.
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: You force it. You can't decide that your way is
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: the way that other people have to live. That's the
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: whole idea of America is you're supposed to have the
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: freedom to do whatever the fuck you want as long
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: as you're not hurting others. And if you want to
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: believe in whatever, some ancient religion that people gave up
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: on thousands of years ago, who fucking cares?
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: Yeah, go ahead.
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: Go ahead.
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I first noticed him when he really came out
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: against that school voucher program, which I was against also.
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: What was that?
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: Which one was that?
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: School vouchers, and he lost. He fought so hard against
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: it because they wanted to give school vouchers so you
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: could take this money and go to a private school.
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: But the only people that were using them were people
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: that already had their kids in private schools. Most Texas
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: counties don't have a private school, and a private school
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: can also decide who they want for no reason. They
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: can eliminate anybody. They'll take a student or not take
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: a student. Right. And that came out of the public
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: school system, that money, and went into the private school system.
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: And Tallarico really fought hard against that because we need
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: better teachers. We need more teachers. We need the public
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: school system beefed up. We're getting the shit beat out
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: of us in education. And I think Tallarico was really,
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: really good for that. And I think he's a smart,
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: honest man. I hope he never gets sucked into the
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: corruption of all the money like most people do, but
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: You really can't put Ken Paxton back in office in
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: the state of Texas. That guy's just too corrupt. He's
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: just a bad egg, and we don't need him around here.
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: There's a lot of shenanigans with weed in this state
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: right now. There's a lot of alcohol lobby money, and
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: a lot of people are trying to ban weed, and
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: they're trying to make it a felony.
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: They did it.
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: I know, but they're fighting it in court now. There's
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: a bunch of cases. It's really stupid.
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: It was such a big step backwards. I was asking
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: one of these guys that owns a head shop that
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: I like. I go in and talk to him every
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: once in a while. I don't like that Delta 8
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: or whatever they were selling anyway. But these guys really
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: went all in on these businesses that were legal. And
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: all of a sudden, snap, here's the stuff you've got
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: to take out. What do you got left? And that's
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: really brutal for somebody that really, you know, weighed it
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: all in.
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: Billions of dollars lost, thousands of jobs.
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: And I guess they burned the weed. That's what I
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: asked him. I said, what did you do with all
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: that weed? Crazy.
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: It's also, look, regulate it and tax it, you fucking idiots.
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: You're missing out on so much money. And also leave
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: grown adults to do whatever they want to do. You're
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: not going to convince people that weed is fucking PCP.
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: This ain't Reef or Madness days. Everyone's been smoking weed
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: since they were in high school.
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: No matter what kind of propaganda you throw out there,
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: we know it's bullshit.
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: We know what weed is now. Can you go crazy
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: if you smoke too much weed? Yeah, don't smoke too
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: much weed. Can you go crazy if you drink too much? Yeah,
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: don't drink too much. It's the same goddamn thing. Don't
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: tell people what to do. You don't have the right,
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: especially when I look at these guys. You guys are dorks.
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: You dorks can't decide what other people do and don't do.
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: And it seems like enough of them would have died
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: that a new set of faces would come around.
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: They're going to lose elections, I'll tell you that, because
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: young people aren't tolerating this bullshit anymore. Like, this is stupid.
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: And not even young people, most people. Most people realize
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: the only way you can come to this conclusion, that
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: there should be laws and felonies, that people should be
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: locked in cages for weed, is if you are either
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: retarded or you're on the take.
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: It's one of those two things.
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: One of those two things. Either you're too.
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: Fucking stupid to be a leader or you're on the take. Right.
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: Because this is dumb. And also, you're missing out on
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: so much tax revenue. How much does California make in
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: tax revenue? How much does Colorado make in tax revenue?
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: A fucking buttload.
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: A buttload.
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: And, you know, even when some weed was legal in Texas,
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: I got mine from Oklahoma anyway. You shouldn't say that online.
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: People, they'll come for you.
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: They will.
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: It's probably like getting those Cuban cigars. Fake, not real
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: Cuban cigars. How much revenue does California get every year?
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: There's a state-by-state breakdown.
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: Okay. And we can put that money in the public schools. $ 7. 765 billion.
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: Billion dollars.
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: Billion dollars.
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: That is fucking crazy. That's so much money. They're missing
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: out on $ 7 billion. And they're missing out on how
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: much did the tax, how much did the alcohol lobby
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: give you? Could have been $ 7 billion.
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: No, I don't think so.
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: So somebody is either retarded or corrupt.
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: Corrupt, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, and I'm so sick of it,
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: you know. I'm so sick of it.
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: Texas could be making a shitload of revenue with legal marijuana.
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: And bring in some goddamn gambling. We're sending everybody right
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: across the border to fucking Windstar, although I work there.
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: So don't quit going. But they just dump money into
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: Windstar because Casino in the World is about 300 yards
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: north of Texas.
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: What do you think about that? Do you think that
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: casinos should be everywhere? And what do you think about
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: the argument that if you're promoting gambling and you have
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: these casinos, you're going to ruin people's lives because you're
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: going to give them easy access to something.
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: That they're addicted to? They've already got access with fucking DraftKings.
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: You can gamble from anywhere. But, you know, they can
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: still go to somewhere else and do it. You know,
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: they go right across the border, go to Louisiana, go
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: to or fly into Vegas for seventy nine dollars. Right.
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: But there's an argument that you don't want it in
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: your state. There's an argument that, like, if you really
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: care about the people in your state, you would probably
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: make it more difficult to go to these casinos.
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: We have horse racing here, right? Do we? Yeah.
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: You gamble on that?
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: Not much, but it's they move Rio Dosa down to Texas.
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: The races that were in Rio Dosa, New Mexico or
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: New America.
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: I remember when I was playing pool in New York,
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: the real gambling junkies, they would start their day at
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: off-track betting. They would go and gamble on horse races,
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: and then they would come over to the pool hall
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: later in the afternoon.
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: And lose the rest of it.
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: Yeah, or have stories about.
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: How they lost. That's a wild group of folks that
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: you were hanging out with in the New York playing pool,
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: wasn't it? Oh, yeah.
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: Homeless people, junkies, pool hustlers. Like some of the wildest
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: people I've ever met in my life. It was really fun.
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: There was this one place I used to go to
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: in New York City. It was called Chelsea Billiards. And
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: it was a 24-hour place. And there regularly you have
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: guys that were sleeping under tables.
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: While it was open?
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: Yeah, because it was open 24 hours. So at nighttime,
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: and they didn't get games, they would just crawl under
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: a table and go to sleep. Because there's a whole
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: downstairs area that was rarely used unless it was like
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: really packed. But it was a real pool hall. A
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: real 24-hour pool hall. I met so many degenerates there.
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: There's a great book about that place. There's a great
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: book called Playing Off the Rail by this guy David McCumber.
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: He was Hunter S. Thompson's editor when Hunter S. Thompson was,
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: I think he was working for a newspaper in the
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: Pacific Northwest for a while. McCumber's a very, very interesting guy,
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: great writer. And he took my friend Tony Anagoni, who
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: was a world-class professional pool player, And they traveled around
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: the country gambling and wrote this book. It's a great book.
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: Really accurate, honest book.
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: Playing Off the Rail?
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: It's called Playing Off the Rail is the name of
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: the book. And the guy, Tony, who was a friend
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: of mine, I did commentary with him on a pool
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: match once in California back in the 90s. and hung
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: out with him a bunch of times, played pool with him.
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: And then one day I got a call from a
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: friend of mine that told me he jumped off the bridge.
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: No shit.
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: He was 17 when he did that.
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: He was 17. He was stricken with road fever. No, no,
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: 22 years later he got the chance. So when he
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: was 17, he tried to do it. So 22 years
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: later he got the chance to follow that dream, not
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: as a player, but as a stake horse financial backer
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: for Tony Anagoni a non-smoking macrobiotic eating renaissance pool hustler
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: student of eastern religion and master of the pure green
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: felt poetry of the dead stroke Tony was a brilliant
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: guy like an incredible pool player and again didn't smoke
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: didn't drink he would play for like 24 hours and
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: would only drink water He plays long gambling matches with
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: high-end pool players. He was a world champion caliber pool player.
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: But he jumped off the bridge, man.
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: Oh, shit. Yeah.
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: I don't know what was going on. I wasn't close
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: with him at the time. I hadn't seen him in
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: a few years. He was living in San Francisco. I
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: was living in L.A. And then somebody called me. It's
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: such a scary thing when you you don't know that
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: a guy would do that, and then they do it.
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: You're always like, what could I have done? Could I
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: have said something? Sometimes someone will call you and say something,
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: and it picks you up. Joey Diaz will do that
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: all the time. He'll just call you up, tell you
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: he loves you.
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: Yeah, he does that to me. He's the best.
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: And I do it to him too. It's like, it
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: feels good. It's like you check in. You check in
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: with your friends. And sometimes when your friend's going through
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: it and you don't know the extent of it, like
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: a lot of men are stoic about that shit. They
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: don't tell you how bad they're suffering. They don't tell
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: you what's going on. You don't know until it's over.
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: And then you're always like, could I have said something?
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: Could I have done something? Should I have told other people?
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: What could I have done? Like Brody. Brody was a
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: rough one. Brody was a rough one. I had no idea.
- 1:10:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: You know, I knew Brody was struggling. I never thought
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: he'd take his own life. I thought he was just, like,
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: he just struggled, you know, like, to keep it together.
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: But he would get on stage and he'd be brilliant.
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: And I was like, this guy's clearly, like, great comic,
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: hilarious guy, awesome guy to be around. Everybody loved hanging
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: around with him. I was like, he'll be fine. I
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: had no idea. And then all of a sudden, you
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: get that call. You're like, Brody took his own life.
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: And you're like, what?
- 1:11:03Speaker 2: No. You know?
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: Like, what?
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: What?
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: You can't even believe you don't believe it's real. It's like,
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: how would it say it again? I don't believe it's real.
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: Well, if anybody ever says that I killed myself, I didn't,
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: I am not that kind of person. You go find
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: out Joe who killed me.
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: I will find out.
- 1:11:24Speaker 2: Yeah. I won't believe it. Yeah. I knew you would.
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: I will. Oh, that's what I was going to tell
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: you that I went to that trip in Switzerland and, um,
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: And then we were taking a ride in a car
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: for two and a half hours from Zermatt to Interlaken.
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: And I had this driver from England, Andrew, and he
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: had married a girl from Switzerland and moved there 12
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: years ago. And when I was in Paris, I really
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: was expecting to get some anti-American sentiment there. because they
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: don't really like us that much anyway. But I really
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: didn't feel it. And I'm like, oh, well, maybe I'm
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: building this up more than it is. But in Switzerland
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: and also in northern Italy, I felt like I'm getting
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: a cold shoulder in these places. And I asked him
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: about it. I said, is this in my head? And
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: he goes, mate, if you want to know the truth,
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: they don't like your fucking war. They don't like your war.
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: Those guys can hit everybody but you, and you're slinging missiles,
- 1:12:34Speaker 2: and they also don't like the tariffs. If you're doing
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: things over there to fuck you up, they don't care.
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: But if it fucks us up, yeah, we care. I'm like, well,
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: I didn't have anything to do with it. But that
- 1:12:48Speaker 2: war is sitting pretty, pretty nasty with just about everybody,
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: I think.
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: Everybody here, too. There's very few people here that think
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: it's a good idea. The only people that I've heard
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: that I think are very intelligent people that think it's
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: a good idea, one of them was Palmer Luckey. Palmer
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: Luckey is a tech guy, a very, very smart guy.
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: And one of the things that he was on a
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: podcast and he was explaining was that Iran had ramped
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: up its missile production like above and beyond. And they
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: were like actively accelerating their missile program. And if they
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: did acquire a nuke, It would have been a real
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: problem because they have an insane reserve of missiles. This
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: is what he's saying. He's saying if we continue to
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: allow them to ramp that up– and obviously the other
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: thing people have said is the timing was poor and
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: that really if the United States was going to attack Iran,
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: they should have attacked Iran when they had the protests.
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: When they had people in the streets and they were
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: revolting against the government and the government was executing civilians,
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: that's the time. And if they did it then, I
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: bet the whole world would be with them. And I
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: bet the people probably would be with them. The people
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: of Iran would be with them. Who knows what the
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: fuck would have happened? It would have been a different thing.
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: But the timing was way off. And his position is
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: also interesting because he makes weapons, right? He makes drones.
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: He makes like super sophisticated military technology. But he does
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: it because he thinks– well, also it's his business. But
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: he does it– his rationale is that it's important to
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: have a very strong defense and that he's a patriot.
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: That's his position. And his position is that this government
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: is a dangerous government and they were actively trying to
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: ramp up their missile program. Again, you have to take
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: it from perspective that he's also a weapons man.
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: He's also– But he is a brilliant guy. Yeah, I'm
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: thinking– And it's not like they're– like the Iranian government
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: is really cool and we're misrepresenting them. They're fucking executing
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: people for protesting against the government. They're doing that in
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: the street. They run their government. They run their country with.
- 1:14:55Speaker 2: An iron fist.
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: It's scary. They definitely sponsor terrorism. They definitely do. But
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: also they– They've been attacked. They've been overthrown. You know,
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: we installed their government.
- 1:15:06Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: You know, like we monkeyed with it. Iran in the
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: 70s or the 50s, whatever it was, when you see
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: those photographs of it, like it was very Western. Like
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: they had a democracy.
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: It would look nice over there. Yeah.
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: We fucked it all up. It was a big part
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: of us fucking it all up. And I bet a
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: lot of it had to do with oil.
- 1:15:24Speaker 2: I bet it did. I bet it did.
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: It's so spooky. The kind of shit that. we've been
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: doing and they've been doing and all these governments have
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: been doing all around the world, monkeying with other people's
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: fucking countries. It's like, Jesus Christ, everybody's out there playing
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: Russian roulette. Like, what the fuck are you doing?
- 1:15:42Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, Israel's right in the middle of all
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: that missile slinging also. But boy, they don't like it.
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: They don't like it. And I don't think they understood
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: that the only thing that keeping Iran from bombing other
- 1:15:57Speaker 2: people was us. So when we started bombing them, we're like,
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: what the fuck? Yeah. I'm going to start shooting some
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: stuff out to Bahrain and Qatar.
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: That's the other thing is all the other Gulf states
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: that support the attack in Iran. That's kind of nuts.
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: There's all, you know, all those other countries like Saudi
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: Arabia and Qatar and all that. They support it. Like
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: they don't want Iran to get a nuclear weapon. They
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: don't want Iran to have that kind of power. But
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: most people in America are like, this was the whole
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: reason why one of the things that people loved about
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: Trump was no more bullshit wars.
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: No more wars. No more unnecessary wars.
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: That was the one thing I couldn't argue with. Yeah.
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: You know, like, OK, well, yeah, we don't need to
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: be in a war. Yeah.
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: And that's what we hoped. You know, but it seems
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: like we're in one.
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: Seems like it. They won't call it that. But that's
- 1:16:49Speaker 2: what it seems like to me. What are they calling it?
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: A conflict? A military conflict. Same as Vietnam. Jesus Christ. Yeah.
- 1:16:57Speaker 2: I was like, that was a good idea.
- 1:16:58Speaker 3: I looked up something crazy last night. I just, like,
- 1:17:00Speaker 3: I think I asked Grocker one of the things. Like,
- 1:17:02Speaker 3: how many.
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: Could you talk just a little louder?
- 1:17:04Speaker 4: Sure.
- 1:17:04Speaker 3: How many years has the United States been in conflicts?
- 1:17:08Speaker 3: I think just, like, in general total. And it said that, like,
- 1:17:12Speaker 3: only from the years from 1891 to 1897 were we
- 1:17:17Speaker 3: not in a conflict. And since World War II, we've
- 1:17:21Speaker 3: been in some sort of something every year.
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:17:25Speaker 3: Every single year since whatever.
- 1:17:26Speaker 2: Not a thing like Switzerland. We're in all of them.
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: All of them. And I think it's that a lot
- 1:17:36Speaker 2: of it is just exactly what you were talking about.
- 1:17:38Speaker 2: The big machine that is defense.
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: It's a huge machine. The budget is insane. The amount
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: of money is insane. And they want to keep making
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: that money.
- 1:17:47Speaker 2: That's why we don't have our high-speed rails.
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: Also, they try to do that in California. It seems
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: like people stole the money. I don't know what the
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: fuck they did there. You know how much they spent
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: on the high-speed rail in California? It's insane. It's like
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: they haven't even laid the tracks yet. They've spent billions.
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: They're way over budget. It's going to take forever. And
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: even then, there's a part that you have to take
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: a bus. You get to it. Yeah. Who was explaining
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: that to us?
- 1:18:11Speaker 2: It's not a high-speed bus either. A regular bus.
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: No, it's a regular bus.
- 1:18:15Speaker 2: Regular bus.
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: You take the high speed, goes to a very short distance.
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: You get off. You get on a bus. And you
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: go from, like, Bakersfield to L.A.
- 1:18:22Speaker 2: On a bus.
- 1:18:23Speaker 7: Wow.
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: They spent billions of dollars on this.
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: They didn't figure out the end of it. Oh, it's
- 1:18:31Speaker 2: so stupid. I mean, you can take a bus where
- 1:18:32Speaker 2: you're going.
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: It's so stupid. And then they had Gavin Newsom, like,
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: posed in front of trains the other day, did, like,
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: a press conference, like, talking about how they're moving forward
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: with the high-speed rail. Like, bitch, that thing ain't ever
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: going to work. It's just a grift. They're just stealing money. Wow.
- 1:18:50Speaker 2: Those goddamn condors.
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: What about the condors?
- 1:18:54Speaker 2: I don't think they're real.
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: What do you mean?
- 1:18:56Speaker 2: I just don't think they're real. I don't think there's
- 1:18:58Speaker 2: a shortage of them. I don't. I think we just
- 1:19:01Speaker 2: got the right amount of condors, and it's nature's way
- 1:19:03Speaker 2: of taking care of itself. It's an ugly bird.
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: So do you think that... When people were saying that
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: the condors were endangered, do you think that there's a
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: grift attached to that?
- 1:19:13Speaker 2: That's what I think.
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: What would be the grift?
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: The grift is give us money so we can save
- 1:19:17Speaker 2: these condors. And then boom, you got money. And are
- 1:19:21Speaker 2: you saving condors with it? We don't know.
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: Are you in a position that condors should be allowed
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: to go extinct? What? Should they be allowed to go extinct?
- 1:19:29Speaker 2: If they want to. Leave it up to the condors.
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: If they don't want to fuck anymore, quit fucking.
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: One of the things that they've said was that a
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: lot of them were dying from lead poisoning, from bullets,
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: from hunters. And so they made the hunters switch over
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: to copper bullets. Do you know that? And that doesn't— California,
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: you have to have copper bullets now.
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: In your shotgun?
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: Yeah, and in rifles too. Like if you shoot an
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: elk with a rifle in California, you have to have
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: a copper bullet. No shit.
- 1:20:00Speaker 2: Yeah, and I think— Do you use copper bullets anyway?
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: No, I don't.
- 1:20:04Speaker 3: I don't.
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: Really hunt with a rifle. Oh, you're just a bow guy, right?
- 1:20:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: But it's effective.
- 1:20:12Speaker 2: They work.
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: I've killed an elk with a copper bullet before. It
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: does work. I shot an elk in California with a rifle.
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: But it's weird because I don't know if that's really
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: what's killing the condors.
- 1:20:24Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: Does that really... How many birds die from lead poisoning
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: from bullets? That seems kind of.
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: They fly awfully high.
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: How many hunters are losing animals that there's that many
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: bullets that are just laying around that birds are eating?
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't think that's right. That seems
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: like a weird connection. Like, see, if a bird made
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: a habit of eating lead, yeah, that'd be fucking terrible
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: for you. But is that really affecting the population? There's
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: that much lead out there?
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: I wouldn't think so.
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: It sounds kooky.
- 1:20:53Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: But I don't know.
- 1:20:55Speaker 2: I don't either.
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: But there's always these weird regulations they put down on
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: things to protect wildlife. It gets super squirrely. Is there
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: any data that shows that animals were dying from lead
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: poisoning for bullets? I wonder why they would make– because
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: like California just passed some crazy law where they made
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: 70 percent of all tires illegal.
- 1:21:26Speaker 2: I know. 70% of tires?
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: 70% of the tires that are being sold in California
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: will now be illegal.
- 1:21:34Speaker 2: Because of what?
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: Some crazy new regulations about what kind of tires you're.
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: Allowed to have. What they're made out of?
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: How they're made, their construction method, the quality of them, blah, blah, blah,
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: how efficient they are, whatever it is. 70%. What are.
- 1:21:51Speaker 2: They going to use for tires?
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: Well, they're just going to be able to sell 30%
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: of the tires. They're going to have to sell more
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: of those tires, but it's going to probably cost the
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: consumer a lot more money. It's probably going to fuck
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: up the manufacturers, fuck up their businesses. And it's some
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: regulation that's supposed to work with, it's supposed to save
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: gas somehow. The more efficient tires over time will save
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: millions of gallons of gas like Stay the fuck out
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: of people's business, you cunts. California has approved a new
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: replacement tire efficiency program, not a ban on tires you
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: already own. Right, but it bans the tires you can sell.
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: This is a weird way to frame it.
- 1:22:32Speaker 2: Well, I mean, your tires are going to wear out,
- 1:22:34Speaker 2: and then you've got to replace them with these.
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: It regulates which new replacement tires may be sold in
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: California for pasture vehicles. What changes? California Energy Commission unanimously
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: adopted the rule on August 17th, 2026. Its purpose is
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: to ensure replacement tires are, on average, at least as
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: energy efficient as original equipment tires fitted to new vehicles.
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: The key technical measure is rolling resistance. Lower rolling resistance
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: generally means less energy is needed to keep the tire rolling,
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: which can improve gas mileage or EV range. So it's
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: basically like you can't buy cheap tires. You have to
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: buy the same kind of tires that your car came with.
- 1:23:16Speaker 2: Well, so they're really kind of putting a ban on
- 1:23:18Speaker 2: shitty tires. Are there people out there just making shitty
- 1:23:20Speaker 2: tires and they're trying to get rid of them?
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: Well, they're probably making tires that are less expensive and
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: still pretty good. Like if you're driving a Camry, do
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: you really need original equipment tires? Your car sucks.
- 1:23:31Speaker 2: Your car has.
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: Oh, no, I would be looking.
- 1:23:33Speaker 2: For the cheapest tire I could put on there just
- 1:23:35Speaker 2: to get to the next payday. Exactly.
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: So if you're broke and the difference is like a
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: $ 79 tire or a $ 59 tire and it's basically the
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: same to you.
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: Yeah, put them on the camera.
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: Yeah, and now all of a sudden these tire shops,
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: they can't sell them anymore?
- 1:23:52Speaker 2: What?
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: So what if you have inventory? Do you have to
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: get rid of your inventory? Do I have to dump
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: all my– what if you're a guy, like you worked
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: at Tires R Us– And, you know, you said, you know,
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: it'd be cool if I could ensure that I had
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: every fucking tire for 90 percent of the cars right away.
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: I'll stack them. I'll stock them here. And that way
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: I'll get a whole ton of business. We have your tires.
- 1:24:15Speaker 6: Right.
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: And then all of a sudden you got to get
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: rid of all those tires.
- 1:24:17Speaker 2: We ain't got your tire no more. That's crazy. Seems
- 1:24:21Speaker 2: like there'd be a lot of other things to worry about.
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: Well, I have my buddy, Matt, who was at the
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: club last night. His house burnt down in the Pacific
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: Palisades fire. And. He's like, the regulations you're going through
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: to try to rebuild your house are fucking insane. He's like,
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: we're not even close to starting construction. And he's got money.
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: And he's like, he could just start construction right away.
- 1:24:42Speaker 2: Are they just going to change the way they build
- 1:24:43Speaker 2: houses there to make them less fireproof?
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: I don't know what they're doing, man. They're just making it...
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: The regulations are insane. It's just like there's so much
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: red tape before you can begin construction again. Whereas in Texas...
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: If your house burnt down, you go, oh, here's the
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: plans for the new house. They go, oh, it looks good.
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: It's up to code. Good luck. Build your fucking house.
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: And you just build your house. That's it. Right. You're
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: on that California Coastal Commission.
- 1:25:08Speaker 2: Bro. Yeah. They are brutal. Those people are brutal. Yeah.
- 1:25:13Speaker 2: I'm glad I'm out of the real estate fucking.
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: The California real estate thing.
- 1:25:18Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:25:19Speaker 6: Well.
- 1:25:19Speaker 2: I'm glad I got out when I did.
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: A lot of people are trying to get out now.
- 1:25:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: I know a bunch of friends that are trying to
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: get out and they can't sell their house.
- 1:25:26Speaker 2: But I got to tell you, I still love Southern California.
- 1:25:29Speaker 2: I love to go out there and play golf and
- 1:25:31Speaker 2: hang out. I still know a lot of people down there.
- 1:25:33Speaker 2: Southern California is beautiful. Oh, it's beautiful. That fucking climate
- 1:25:38Speaker 2: is just untouchable anywhere in the world.
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: Which is amazing that they fucked it up so bad
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: that people want to move from there. Yeah. Because it's awesome.
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: It's not just awesome. It's like the variety of environments
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: you can get to within two hours. It's crazy.
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: Remember you were going to buy that big ranch out
- 1:25:55Speaker 2: in— Montecito or Santa Barbara yeah I didn't even know
- 1:25:59Speaker 2: you had money then whenever you first told me that
- 1:26:02Speaker 2: I was like oh yeah all right you have no
- 1:26:04Speaker 2: idea what it costs to buy a fucking piece of
- 1:26:06Speaker 2: property and uh what do you got a podcast and
- 1:26:09Speaker 2: a couple of fucking shows first time I did your
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: podcast I didn't even know what it was oh you
- 1:26:14Speaker 2: asked me to do it as a I'll come do
- 1:26:17Speaker 2: your podcast and I had no idea it was fucking
- 1:26:21Speaker 2: millions of people and it sold books and tickets. And
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: I'm like, man, damn, Joe, what do you got going
- 1:26:26Speaker 2: on over here?
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: Well, it was, you know, back then it was like
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: kind of under the radar. People didn't know what a
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: podcast was. But still millions of people were listening to them.
- 1:26:36Speaker 2: How many subscribers do you have now? Do you even know?
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: I think on YouTube, what do we have, 20-something? Yeah,
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: we're over 20, I think. 20 million on YouTube and
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: same on Spotify.
- 1:26:48Speaker 2: Same.
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: It's like 20 million subscribers.
- 1:26:50Speaker 2: Fuck.
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: That's a lot of people.
- 1:26:53Speaker 2: Yeah. I was talking to Angela about it this morning,
- 1:26:59Speaker 2: and she said, what are you doing? I'm doing Joe's podcast.
- 1:27:04Speaker 2: I'm going to go talk to 20 million people, and
- 1:27:07Speaker 2: I really don't have anything to say. So she goes, well,
- 1:27:11Speaker 2: Joe will lead you through it. You'll be fine. I'm like,
- 1:27:14Speaker 2: I know, but it's still 20 million fucking people.
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: You can't think about it.
- 1:27:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I know.
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: If you think about it, it'll fuck your head up.
- 1:27:19Speaker 2: I just started thinking about it. Fuck me up. Don't
- 1:27:21Speaker 2: do it. Let it go. Do I know any of them?
- 1:27:24Speaker 2: I know a lot of them.
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: Listen, they're just folks like you and me. That's why
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: it works.
- 1:27:28Speaker 2: Yeah. You know?
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: We just have lucky lives.
- 1:27:33Speaker 2: We have lucky lives, Joe.
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: Very lucky lives.
- 1:27:35Speaker 2: Lucky lives.
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: That's the best way to put it.
- 1:27:38Speaker 2: I'm going to do, you know, next week I'm celebrating
- 1:27:42Speaker 2: 40 years in stand-up comedy. That's amazing. September 17th, 1986
- 1:27:47Speaker 2: is when I first started telling jokes.
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: Are you doing a set that night? I am.
- 1:27:52Speaker 2: I got a show in Dallas that night. Oh, nice.
- 1:27:56Speaker 2: And I'm leaving this weekend for the first, I've been
- 1:28:00Speaker 2: off for four months, so I'm going to Florida, I
- 1:28:04Speaker 2: think Daytona, and I don't know.
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: I always loved to stand up in Dallas. Dallas is
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: a fun city.
- 1:28:11Speaker 2: Yeah, it is.
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: That's fun. I always loved Dallas. I always loved Houston,
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: and I always loved Dallas.
- 1:28:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I love Houston, too. I just have that one
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: big play out in Katy, that big gigantic room out there.
- 1:28:24Speaker 2: I don't even go into Houston anymore. I just go
- 1:28:26Speaker 2: to Katy. That's as far as I go.
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: What is the place?
- 1:28:29Speaker 2: Oh, I don't know. It's that 6,000-seater. You played it, right?
- 1:28:32Speaker 2: That big old huge thing. They can block parts of
- 1:28:34Speaker 2: it off. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: I did that spot.
- 1:28:36Speaker 2: Big fucking I think they changed the name of it
- 1:28:39Speaker 2: every two years to put a new sponsor on it.
- 1:28:41Speaker 2: It was a Toyota something.
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: Yeah, they always do stuff like that, right?
- 1:28:44Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: That's always weird. It's always a bank or some corporation
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: or something.
- 1:28:48Speaker 2: I could never find a room in that town that
- 1:28:50Speaker 2: I liked because there was... The really nice one was
- 1:28:53Speaker 2: too small and they had this big concrete vomitorium downtown
- 1:28:58Speaker 2: that used to be a rock house so you could
- 1:28:59Speaker 2: just washed vomit out of it with a fucking hose.
- 1:29:03Speaker 2: Had a lady fall out of the fucking balcony 26 feet.
- 1:29:07Speaker 2: Landed on another lady. Flattened a fucking metal chair. Both
- 1:29:11Speaker 2: of them left. And I thought a light fell from
- 1:29:14Speaker 2: the sky. I didn't know. I was on stage. And
- 1:29:16Speaker 2: people were going, oh, oh, oh, oh. People screaming. I'm like, fuck, fuck.
- 1:29:21Speaker 2: And turned the lights on. And we got fucking ambulance,
- 1:29:24Speaker 2: fucking stretchers coming out. They both left on fucking stretchers. Oh,
- 1:29:28Speaker 2: my God. And big lady, too, buck 80, fucking flattened
- 1:29:33Speaker 2: another woman and her chair. Then the next show, the
- 1:29:37Speaker 2: same night, guy has a heart attack and dies. And
- 1:29:41Speaker 2: I'm like, is this an Indian burial ground or some shit?
- 1:29:44Speaker 2: Jesus Christ. What the fuck? And that was my only
- 1:29:51Speaker 2: play there. And then they opened that big building out
- 1:29:53Speaker 2: in Katy. I'm like, okay, this is mine, boys.
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: That place is haunted.
- 1:29:57Speaker 2: Fuck, yeah. I'm not going back there.
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: Have you ever talked to anybody else that had weird
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: things happen in that place?
- 1:30:02Speaker 2: I really hadn't.
- 1:30:04Speaker 1: Two nights or two shows.
- 1:30:05Speaker 2: Two shows in one night.
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: That's nuts.
- 1:30:07Speaker 2: Yeah. And I always thought, man, these balconies are awfully
- 1:30:10Speaker 2: fucking steep. You could go up there and sit in
- 1:30:14Speaker 2: it and go, what keeps them from falling over? Nothing.
- 1:30:17Speaker 2: Not a goddamn thing. A woman just lost her balance
- 1:30:20Speaker 2: and went right over the fucking edge.
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: Whenever I see those penthouses in Miami, I think of that.
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: I was watching some YouTube video. I like watching those
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: real estate shows where guys are like, look at this
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: incredible apartment. Look at the amenity. I don't know why.
- 1:30:36Speaker 2: I'm a moron. I like real estate shit.
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: I like watching condos and places. I'll never buy a condo.
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: So he's at this crazy condo that's a penthouse in Miami.
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: It's like $ 70 million, and it's got this glass wall
- 1:30:52Speaker 1: that's like titty high and then down like 70 flights.
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: It's just glass wall, and then look over the side.
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: I can't swing that. I don't like that feeling.
- 1:31:04Speaker 2: I don't like it worse if I have my phone
- 1:31:06Speaker 2: in my hand because I can fall off. That's fine,
- 1:31:09Speaker 2: but I can't let that phone go.
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: What if the phone hits somebody in the head and
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: kills them?
- 1:31:13Speaker 2: It would be on you, wouldn't it? It would be
- 1:31:14Speaker 2: on you. It would be easy to trace that motherfucker
- 1:31:16Speaker 2: right on back to where it came from. It wouldn't
- 1:31:18Speaker 2: be hard.
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: It's just like the balcony thing. I see that in
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: New York City, too. Some of those apartments that have
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: balconies and you just look over the ledge. That's too weird.
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: It's too weird that there's a place in your house
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: where you could definitely die if you take an extra step.
- 1:31:32Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: I would say don't live in a place where you
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: could definitely die if you take an extra step. Just generally,
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: as a rule. That's got to fuck with your anxiety, too.
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: Imagine getting high up there and looking down.
- 1:31:44Speaker 2: I've still got that penthouse, but it's only 22 floors.
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: That's enough.
- 1:31:48Speaker 2: Yeah, that's plenty.
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: I've been to your place. That's enough. That's more than
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: enough to die. More than enough.
- 1:31:54Speaker 3: I live like 600 feet in the sky.
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: I know you do, dude. You live way the fuck
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: up there.
- 1:31:58Speaker 3: I asked someone who lives up there, too. I have
- 1:32:00Speaker 3: a couple weird dreams sometimes where, like, the building is
- 1:32:03Speaker 3: falling over. It's not like a crash or a big event, but, like,
- 1:32:08Speaker 3: it's just weird inception, like, mind-bending, just falling to the
- 1:32:12Speaker 3: ground very slowly and weirdly.
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: It's fucking.
- 1:32:14Speaker 3: Because you can feel the.
- 1:32:16Speaker 2: Sway.
- 1:32:16Speaker 3: I see my toilet water move all the time.
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: Fuck that, dude.
- 1:32:19Speaker 2: Get out.
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: Where do you live?
- 1:32:21Speaker 3: Don't say it.
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: I can't say it.
- 1:32:22Speaker 3: I live downtown also.
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: Get out now.
- 1:32:26Speaker 2: That's fun.
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: Get yourself a place in Dripping Springs.
- 1:32:28Speaker 3: I have a really cool view. The view is insane.
- 1:32:31Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 1:32:32Speaker 1: Your view is sick.
- 1:32:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: I mean, there's pros to it for sure. Whenever I'm
- 1:32:36Speaker 1: in New York City, if I know somebody that has
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: an apartment, my friend's dad had an apartment in New
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: York City, and he had this corner... building like this
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: building where his apartment had glass on one side glass
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: on the other side it was just all city and
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: it was in the middle of everything and I was
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: like this is the view like a lot of people
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: have the view of like the city in the distance
- 1:32:56Speaker 1: but the city right on top of you and he
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: was like you know like 30th floor or something like
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: that and there's all these other buildings it's like like
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: a sci-fi movie you know it's like it's so exciting
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: just the feeling of all these lit windows and all
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: these buildings around you and looking down seeing the cars
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: and traffic.
- 1:33:13Speaker 2: All the fucking stories, man, that everybody has.
- 1:33:17Speaker 1: And everybody's like watching everybody else. Everybody's got fucking binoculars.
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: They're looking into other people's windows and seeing if people
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: are fucking watching people.
- 1:33:24Speaker 2: I've got them. I've got a big old fucking tripod.
- 1:33:27Speaker 2: I ain't seen titty one with it. I don't know
- 1:33:32Speaker 2: how much I spent on that goddamn thing. I ain't
- 1:33:34Speaker 2: seen one tit.
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: The New York City thing I kind of get, but
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: I don't. I mean, I think I get it. If
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: I was a single guy and I was younger, I
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: kind of get it. But someone like, to me, just
- 1:33:49Speaker 1: being on top of people like that is not good
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: for you. I don't think it's good for you to
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: be smushed in with so many people, like to feel
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: all their vibe around you all the time.
- 1:33:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I love to go there. I used to take
- 1:33:59Speaker 2: my mother. My mother used to love to go to
- 1:34:01Speaker 2: fucking theater there. So my mother was alive. I would
- 1:34:05Speaker 2: take her to New York. And we went to see
- 1:34:07Speaker 2: Phantom of the Opera. And halfway through it, I leaned
- 1:34:10Speaker 2: over to my mother and said, I didn't realize it
- 1:34:12Speaker 2: was an opera. Well, it's in the name. I know,
- 1:34:16Speaker 2: but I still didn't know it was going to be
- 1:34:17Speaker 2: a fucking opera.
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: Oh, you thought it was going to be.
- 1:34:18Speaker 2: Like the movie? Yeah, I didn't know it was going
- 1:34:21Speaker 2: to be just a straight-up fucking opera when they're gone.
- 1:34:24Speaker 2: But we also went to see Book of Mormon with
- 1:34:26Speaker 2: the original cast, and that was so fucking funny, man.
- 1:34:30Speaker 1: Book of Mormon's amazing.
- 1:34:31Speaker 2: God, what a great fucking, those fucking South Park boys,
- 1:34:34Speaker 2: South America.
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: Didn't they change the name of their show to South America?
- 1:34:37Speaker 3: No.
- 1:34:37Speaker 1: For Trump? Or is it an episode?
- 1:34:40Speaker 2: No, it's the next year. That's what it's going to
- 1:34:42Speaker 2: be called. For the next year? Yep. That is the
- 1:34:45Speaker 2: best joke I laughed out loud. I read it on
- 1:34:48Speaker 2: my phone by myself at the house and laughed out loud.
- 1:34:50Speaker 2: That is fucking rich.
- 1:34:53Speaker 1: That is so silly.
- 1:34:55Speaker 2: You can't fuck with those guys. They're funny and they
- 1:34:57Speaker 2: don't give a shit.
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: And they're super rich.
- 1:34:59Speaker 2: Yeah, super fucking rich.
- 1:35:01Speaker 3: The website has South America now.
- 1:35:08Speaker 2: Fucking amazing. I couldn't live without South Park.
- 1:35:12Speaker 3: That means we'll get a new theme song.
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: They're like the only thing that Comedy Central didn't fuck up.
- 1:35:17Speaker 2: They were too big for Comedy Central to fuck up.
- 1:35:20Speaker 2: They had so much power with the success of that show.
- 1:35:23Speaker 2: I guess they don't fuck with us.
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: I remember when the first tape was going around, the
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: VHS tape.
- 1:35:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:35:29Speaker 1: What would Brian Boitano do?
- 1:35:31Speaker 2: Remember that? What would Brian Boitano do if he weren't
- 1:35:33Speaker 2: here right now? He'd make a plan and follow through.
- 1:35:37Speaker 1: That's back before the internet. That's what's really crazy. South
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: Park was around before the internet was everywhere. So this
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: was probably like 95, right?
- 1:35:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I think so.
- 1:35:50Speaker 1: When did the first.
- 1:35:51Speaker 3: It debuted on Comedy Central in 99, I.
- 1:35:53Speaker 2: Think, or 97.
- 1:35:54Speaker 1: But there was a tape that they had made that
- 1:35:56Speaker 1: was going around.
- 1:35:57Speaker 3: There's the spirit of Christmas and there's something that I
- 1:35:59Speaker 3: think that's Jesus for Santa Claus.
- 1:36:01Speaker 2: Yeah, Jesus. Yeah. It was a Christmas card or something. Yeah.
- 1:36:05Speaker 1: What year was that made? Because I remember I was
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: dating a gal who worked in an agency and she
- 1:36:11Speaker 1: got a copy of it.
- 1:36:12Speaker 3: This says 95, but something just said 92.
- 1:36:17Speaker 1: Interesting. So it was like the internet really became a
- 1:36:20Speaker 1: thing in.
- 1:36:20Speaker 3: People's... First release, that's weird. Something was released in 92
- 1:36:24Speaker 3: and then something in 95.
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: Okay. The first in 92, short films. So I think.
- 1:36:33Speaker 3: I guess it would have been Jesus.
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: The earliest that I could have seen it was 95,
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: I believe.
- 1:36:42Speaker 3: Jesus, the kids play some Magic Cat on Frosty. I
- 1:36:46Speaker 3: don't really remember that one, but definitely remember seeing the
- 1:36:48Speaker 3: second one, Jesus and Santa.
- 1:36:51Speaker 1: So when was the internet really in everybody's house? I
- 1:36:53Speaker 1: got the internet for the first time in 94. When
- 1:36:56Speaker 1: did you get the internet?
- 1:36:58Speaker 3: I got CompuServe first. It was like 95, 96.
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: What was CompuServe? What was the difference between that and.
- 1:37:06Speaker 3: It was like AOL.
- 1:37:07Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:37:08Speaker 3: Like chat rooms and.
- 1:37:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:37:09Speaker 1: I had AOL.
- 1:37:11Speaker 2: Yeah. I still don't have the internet. I still don't
- 1:37:14Speaker 2: have it. But I'm going to get it.
- 1:37:16Speaker 1: You don't have internet in your house?
- 1:37:17Speaker 2: This year.
- 1:37:18Speaker 1: This year you're going to get it? I do.
- 1:37:19Speaker 7: I do.
- 1:37:20Speaker 2: I don't use it, but I've got it.
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: It's good to not use it. You're smart about that shit.
- 1:37:25Speaker 2: Oh, I can't. Yeah. I can't. I cannot read what
- 1:37:28Speaker 2: people fucking say. And then every once in a while
- 1:37:32Speaker 2: I think I can for a second, and I'm like, no,
- 1:37:35Speaker 2: just don't put it down. Because when we were raising money,
- 1:37:38Speaker 2: by the way, I've got to tell you, and I
- 1:37:40Speaker 2: may have already told you, but when we bought the
- 1:37:47Speaker 2: Sherp or whatever the fuck it was, the fire truck,
- 1:37:51Speaker 2: they used that one year later to save lives. One
- 1:37:54Speaker 2: year later, that same storm system hit that same riverbed,
- 1:37:58Speaker 2: and they used that thing for days. And they talked
- 1:38:01Speaker 2: about it on the news. Now they have two of them.
- 1:38:04Speaker 2: And they said one of them was given by Joe
- 1:38:06Speaker 2: Rogan and Ron White. And that made me so proud
- 1:38:09Speaker 2: that we were able to do something that really made
- 1:38:11Speaker 2: a fucking difference.
- 1:38:12Speaker 1: Yeah. No, that's really awesome. That's really awesome we could
- 1:38:16Speaker 1: do that. I mean, that's a no-brainer. That's a real
- 1:38:18Speaker 1: thing that can help people. That's so cool. Those things
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: look crazy, too.
- 1:38:23Speaker 2: Oh, they're so fun, man. I took it down the
- 1:38:25Speaker 2: river and fucking you go up any bank over giant rocks.
- 1:38:29Speaker 2: the thing will go in it. You can't stop it.
- 1:38:31Speaker 2: You just can't stop it.
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: Fun thing to have the shit go sideways. That area
- 1:38:35Speaker 1: gets hit a lot, right? Is that like Wimberley? Is
- 1:38:37Speaker 1: that that area?
- 1:38:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: Well, you know, really, it.
- 1:38:42Speaker 2: Was that unique storm system, but it happened fucking twice.
- 1:38:45Speaker 2: There that baby is.
- 1:38:46Speaker 3: I don't know if I sent this to you. I forgot.
- 1:38:48Speaker 3: This is the one you guys got money for.
- 1:38:50Speaker 7: Wow.
- 1:38:50Speaker 1: That's it?
- 1:38:51Speaker 2: That's the one we bought, Ron. Look at that.
- 1:38:53Speaker 1: That's so dope.
- 1:38:54Speaker 2: That's the coolest thing.
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: Wow. That thing's incredible. Taking all those kids. That's so fun.
- 1:39:00Speaker 2: Yeah. They took that thing all the way across Greenland.
- 1:39:04Speaker 2: Right across the middle of Greenland. It took weeks and
- 1:39:07Speaker 2: weeks to do it, but they took it all the
- 1:39:09Speaker 2: way across. Just nothing stopping them. They put gas in
- 1:39:13Speaker 2: the tires, and they can run it. It's only got
- 1:39:16Speaker 2: a 55-horsepower motor. Oh, wow. But it's all torque, so
- 1:39:20Speaker 2: it doesn't go very fast, and it needs to get
- 1:39:23Speaker 2: good gas mileage, right, because it needs to get into
- 1:39:25Speaker 2: weird places. But they can put gas in those gigantic tires.
- 1:39:29Speaker 2: That's insane.
- 1:39:30Speaker 1: So you can suck the gas out of the tire
- 1:39:32Speaker 1: while you're driving?
- 1:39:33Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:39:33Speaker 1: How do you even get the gas out of the tire?
- 1:39:35Speaker 1: The tire's spinning.
- 1:39:37Speaker 2: I don't know how it works.
- 1:39:38Speaker 1: That doesn't make any sense to me. I'm trying to
- 1:39:41Speaker 1: figure out how that makes sense. How are you going
- 1:39:43Speaker 1: to get the gas.
- 1:39:43Speaker 2: Out of the tires? I don't know. They're rigged up,
- 1:39:46Speaker 2: I guess. I don't know. They've got a line that
- 1:39:48Speaker 2: goes to it.
- 1:39:49Speaker 1: But the line's spinning if the tire's spinning.
- 1:39:52Speaker 2: But also the tires deflate completely. At night. I mean,
- 1:39:58Speaker 2: it airs itself back up. Whoa. Why'd you do that?
- 1:40:03Speaker 2: But I asked him a million questions before I bought
- 1:40:06Speaker 2: the fucking thing.
- 1:40:08Speaker 1: Whoa, look at that thing. That's nuts.
- 1:40:11Speaker 3: This is a video explaining the fuel system.
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: I don't know if....
- 1:40:17Speaker 2: Each wheel has its own tank.
- 1:40:19Speaker 1: Each wheel has its own tank.
- 1:40:21Speaker 7: So Sherp doesn't tilt. Even if one tank is empty,
- 1:40:25Speaker 7: the Sherp remains stable. Cool fact. Tires are self-regulating. While driving,
- 1:40:31Speaker 7: they adjust air pressure via exhaust gas. No onboard compressor needed.
- 1:40:36Speaker 7: So go ahead, shoot one tire. Sherp keeps rolling.
- 1:40:41Speaker 2: Whoa.
- 1:40:41Speaker 3: I guess it did not explain this much.
- 1:40:44Speaker 7: You asked, what's up with fuel in those Sherp wheels?
- 1:40:47Speaker 7: Let's break it down. If you shoot the tire, will
- 1:40:50Speaker 7: it explode? Will Sherp tilt if just one wheel has fuel? Yes,
- 1:40:55Speaker 7: the fuel is stored in the wheel hubs, separate from
- 1:40:57Speaker 7: the air chamber. There are sealed tanks inside the rim.
- 1:41:01Speaker 7: Each wheel has its own tank, but the system balances
- 1:41:04Speaker 7: weight evenly.
- 1:41:05Speaker 2: There you go.
- 1:41:07Speaker 3: It's in the center of it.
- 1:41:08Speaker 1: So you have to take them off to refuel.
- 1:41:10Speaker 2: That's what it is.
- 1:41:11Speaker 1: That makes more sense.
- 1:41:12Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:41:13Speaker 1: That makes more sense.
- 1:41:14Speaker 2: Still.
- 1:41:15Speaker 1: very genius.
- 1:41:16Speaker 2: Fucking great way to store fuel yeah they're made in
- 1:41:18Speaker 2: the ukraine and the guy told me we just take
- 1:41:20Speaker 2: them out to the front let the russians shoot at
- 1:41:22Speaker 2: it and then bring it back and figure out another
- 1:41:25Speaker 2: way to build it just keep on going they got
- 1:41:28Speaker 2: plenty of room to test it and that's all mud
- 1:41:29Speaker 2: out there anyway in the ukraine so they that's you
- 1:41:32Speaker 2: know that's where that was all conceived and and uh
- 1:41:37Speaker 2: and cool as shit you know what a what a
- 1:41:39Speaker 2: great fucking little vehicle yes nobody needs one really unless
- 1:41:42Speaker 2: you live right up there on the river and you
- 1:41:43Speaker 2: want to help in a flood but Or you got
- 1:41:46Speaker 2: a crazy ranch. Crazy ranch. One of those guys.
- 1:41:49Speaker 3: Just change where you're plugging into.
- 1:41:51Speaker 1: Okay. So he can do it right. You don't have
- 1:41:53Speaker 1: to take it off. You can just go right from
- 1:41:55Speaker 1: those tanks.
- 1:41:56Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:41:58Speaker 1: And that's how you pump fuel into your tank and
- 1:42:01Speaker 1: drive it.
- 1:42:01Speaker 2: That's nuts.
- 1:42:04Speaker 1: Oh, if you have a crazy ranch or if you're
- 1:42:06Speaker 1: on a front line, that's probably a good vehicle to have.
- 1:42:09Speaker 1: That Wimberley area does get hit hard, right? They get
- 1:42:12Speaker 1: those flash floods.
- 1:42:14Speaker 2: Well, they got two of them, you know, and almost
- 1:42:16Speaker 2: exactly a year apart. Both of them right at Fourth
- 1:42:19Speaker 2: of July weekend. But I don't know if it— it was
- 1:42:22Speaker 2: supposed to be like a thousand-year event, and then it
- 1:42:25Speaker 2: happened a year later. And I'm like, well, that wasn't
- 1:42:27Speaker 2: a thousand-year event or a hundred-year flood. It was a
- 1:42:30Speaker 2: one-year flood. But I don't know if it's a constant problem.
- 1:42:34Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, all those river— If it gets a
- 1:42:38Speaker 2: storm stuck over that, everything is granite, right? So it
- 1:42:41Speaker 2: all just fucking runs all over the place and feeds
- 1:42:44Speaker 2: into the Guadalupe, and then it goes nuts.
- 1:42:48Speaker 1: Yeah, those flood zones are nuts when you see what
- 1:42:51Speaker 1: can happen, like how high the water can get to
- 1:42:54Speaker 1: and how quick it can happen.
- 1:42:55Speaker 2: Yeah, we drove it just the other day just to see.
- 1:43:00Speaker 2: You can still see the devastation, but that Camp Mystic
- 1:43:03Speaker 2: is just sitting right there. I didn't see it the
- 1:43:06Speaker 2: first time I went down there, And, uh, but boy,
- 1:43:08Speaker 2: it's just right there with camp mystic written, right. And
- 1:43:11Speaker 2: big letters right on it. And I'm like, God damn,
- 1:43:13Speaker 2: how could they not see that that might be a problem,
- 1:43:17Speaker 2: but it never had been, you know, it had to
- 1:43:19Speaker 2: take the worst thing in the worst place. And, you know,
- 1:43:22Speaker 2: no communication out there. And I know they blame a
- 1:43:25Speaker 2: lot of it on somebody Biden or somebody, but, but
- 1:43:28Speaker 2: it really was not foreseeable, you know, from, from my perspective.
- 1:43:35Speaker 2: And I really did look at it. I mean, I, I,
- 1:43:37Speaker 2: I did, you know, I gathered as much information as
- 1:43:43Speaker 2: I could. And I'm like, yeah, they couldn't have done
- 1:43:45Speaker 2: anything about that. Just a horrible, horrible fucking thing. But,
- 1:43:51Speaker 2: you know, life goes on. We all learn lessons. And,
- 1:43:55Speaker 2: you know, I don't think that mystic camp will ever
- 1:43:58Speaker 2: open again, which is too bad. I think they tried
- 1:44:00Speaker 2: opening up again. Yeah, I think too many people bucked
- 1:44:02Speaker 2: up against it now. Well, it's understandable. It's such a
- 1:44:05Speaker 2: gorgeous place, though, right there on the fucking river. It
- 1:44:08Speaker 2: was there for 100 years or something.
- 1:44:11Speaker 1: That's nuts. Yeah, but— Did you see that crazy avalanche
- 1:44:19Speaker 1: that broke the dam in Nepal?
- 1:44:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I was over there when that happened. Were you really?
- 1:44:24Speaker 2: I mean, not in Nepal, but, I mean, I was overseas,
- 1:44:26Speaker 2: and every news cycle was just nothing but that. That
- 1:44:30Speaker 2: was insane. I wonder if that situation is in other
- 1:44:34Speaker 2: places up there where there are big ice dams or whatever.
- 1:44:38Speaker 2: I mean, I wonder if that's going to be something
- 1:44:39Speaker 2: that happens as those glacier caps start to melt. And
- 1:44:44Speaker 2: they are melting because the rivers were running like crazy
- 1:44:48Speaker 2: when I was there. in Switzerland, and they were worried
- 1:44:52Speaker 2: about it because normally they would not be getting that
- 1:44:54Speaker 2: much water. But those ice caps, they had a really
- 1:44:57Speaker 2: hot summer, and those ice caps are keeping those rivers running.
- 1:45:00Speaker 1: Imagine your whole city's existence is tied to whether or
- 1:45:05Speaker 1: not you have an avalanche.
- 1:45:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:45:08Speaker 1: And you're sitting there like, please, please no rock slides.
- 1:45:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:45:12Speaker 1: I think the rock slide, is that what caused the
- 1:45:14Speaker 1: Nepal thing? There was an avalanche that came down and
- 1:45:18Speaker 1: fucked up the dam?
- 1:45:20Speaker 2: No, the avalanche came down and blocked, and that's what
- 1:45:23Speaker 2: made the lake. Then the glacier broke off and landed
- 1:45:26Speaker 2: in the lake and busted that down the chute. So
- 1:45:30Speaker 2: there were actually two events. The rock slide made a lake.
- 1:45:35Speaker 1: How long did it take for.
- 1:45:37Speaker 2: Everything to happen? Well, I mean, once it broke.
- 1:45:40Speaker 1: No, but was it really quick with the rock slide?
- 1:45:43Speaker 1: Between the rock slide?
- 1:45:43Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know what the distance was
- 1:45:45Speaker 2: between the rock slide and the avalanche. Fuck, man. But
- 1:45:48Speaker 2: it was a pretty big lake.
- 1:45:51Speaker 1: That water, watching the water wash over those people was insane.
- 1:45:54Speaker 2: It was horrible.
- 1:45:55Speaker 1: Insane. And the speed in which it came and the volume.
- 1:45:58Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. Just knocking things completely down.
- 1:46:02Speaker 3: Shattered ice and rock flowed down at speeds approaching 150
- 1:46:06Speaker 3: kilometers an hour, kicking off a flood that raised water
- 1:46:09Speaker 3: levels as much as 9 meters in 30 minutes.
- 1:46:11Speaker 2: 30 minutes. Oh. Duck!
- 1:46:17Speaker 1: It's just the way it was. Like, this idea people have. Like, oh,
- 1:46:20Speaker 1: the water's coming. You'd be able to run like... No. No.
- 1:46:24Speaker 1: We watched that video. We're like, oh, you don't have
- 1:46:26Speaker 1: a chance. You can't go anywhere. There's nowhere to hide.
- 1:46:29Speaker 1: And the volume. It was a wall. Just a giant,
- 1:46:33Speaker 1: like a building-sized wall of water.
- 1:46:35Speaker 2: Of boulders and logs and ice.
- 1:46:39Speaker 1: Cars and everything. And you're just going to get crushed.
- 1:46:43Speaker 1: It's not just water. It's everything the water's carrying with it.
- 1:46:47Speaker 1: Insanely heavy shit.
- 1:46:49Speaker 2: Stupid, stupid fucking mayhem. Just total mayhem.
- 1:46:55Speaker 1: Yeah, natural disasters are fucking crazy. When you see all
- 1:46:58Speaker 1: the meteor spots on Earth, all the little fucking holes
- 1:47:04Speaker 1: in the ground where they, you know, like this one
- 1:47:07Speaker 1: in Australia that they didn't discover until fairly recently.
- 1:47:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I saw something on that.
- 1:47:12Speaker 1: Look at that.
- 1:47:12Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:47:13Speaker 1: Hit by an asteroid right there.
- 1:47:15Speaker 3: Huh.
- 1:47:15Speaker 1: When did that happen?
- 1:47:16Speaker 2: An asteroid the size of a house.
- 1:47:18Speaker 1: Yeah, this one in Nevada, this crazy one in Nevada.
- 1:47:20Speaker 1: It's just this fucking gigantic crater. Have you ever seen
- 1:47:24Speaker 1: that one?
- 1:47:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I've seen it.
- 1:47:26Speaker 1: Fuck. How often does that happen?
- 1:47:29Speaker 2: I don't think it's happened in a long time. We
- 1:47:31Speaker 2: hope it's going to be a little while before it
- 1:47:33Speaker 2: happens again.
- 1:47:34Speaker 1: The time scale of Earth is so vast and the
- 1:47:38Speaker 1: time scale of a person is so small that many,
- 1:47:41Speaker 1: many people can die, live and die, live and die,
- 1:47:43Speaker 1: live and die, and it doesn't happen. And we say, oh,
- 1:47:45Speaker 1: the odds of it happening are very low. But really,
- 1:47:48Speaker 1: it's just random. It can happen, and if it does, boom.
- 1:47:53Speaker 1: No more civilization.
- 1:47:54Speaker 2: Well, yeah, but now we could shoot them down, right? No.
- 1:47:57Speaker 2: We can't?
- 1:47:58Speaker 6: No.
- 1:47:58Speaker 2: We can't stop them?
- 1:47:59Speaker 1: I don't think they're ready for that yet.
- 1:48:01Speaker 2: No.
- 1:48:01Speaker 1: I don't think they're ready in any way to stop
- 1:48:05Speaker 1: something big that's headed our way. I don't think so.
- 1:48:07Speaker 1: I think they have some theories. They've never done it.
- 1:48:11Speaker 1: I don't know how much time, effort, and or resources
- 1:48:14Speaker 1: have been put into making sure that if a civilization
- 1:48:17Speaker 1: killer asteroid is coming our way, that we can all
- 1:48:19Speaker 1: join together. and launch rockets from China and Russia and
- 1:48:23Speaker 1: everywhere else and knock that thing off course. I don't know.
- 1:48:26Speaker 2: Put Elon on it.
- 1:48:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:48:28Speaker 2: He'll fix it.
- 1:48:29Speaker 1: He might be able to. He might be one of
- 1:48:30Speaker 1: the only guys that can figure out how to stop
- 1:48:34Speaker 1: something like that. But I don't know if they even
- 1:48:36Speaker 1: know when those things are coming. Some of them are
- 1:48:38Speaker 1: coming from behind the sun, and they don't see them
- 1:48:40Speaker 1: until it's too late.
- 1:48:42Speaker 2: What do you think about limiting how much people can
- 1:48:48Speaker 2: contribute to a political party? I think there should be
- 1:48:57Speaker 2: a set amount that anybody can donate, and if they
- 1:48:59Speaker 2: donate one dime more than that, they're hung by the
- 1:49:02Speaker 2: neck until dead. That's what I think. and keep the
- 1:49:08Speaker 2: billionaires out of politics.
- 1:49:10Speaker 1: I think also you could say the same thing about corporations.
- 1:49:13Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 1:49:14Speaker 1: Also, you could say the same thing about lobbyists.
- 1:49:18Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 1:49:18Speaker 1: There's a lot of influence on our politics that I
- 1:49:20Speaker 1: think should be eliminated, and money in politics is so ingrained.
- 1:49:28Speaker 1: It's so entangled in politics. The idea of removing it
- 1:49:32Speaker 1: entirely seems ridiculous to people, but if it didn't exist,
- 1:49:35Speaker 1: And you said, hey, what do you think about like
- 1:49:38Speaker 1: letting corporations, you know, those ones that dump shit into
- 1:49:41Speaker 1: rivers and pollute ecosystems and do a lot of funky
- 1:49:44Speaker 1: shit in third world countries they're not supposed to do.
- 1:49:45Speaker 1: What do you think about having them contribute so much
- 1:49:49Speaker 1: money to our politics that they have incredible influence over
- 1:49:53Speaker 1: regulations to get passed?
- 1:49:55Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 1:49:56Speaker 1: What a great idea.
- 1:49:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:49:57Speaker 2: I wish I was one.
- 1:49:59Speaker 1: Nobody would say that's a good idea. You would say, no,
- 1:50:01Speaker 1: let's keep money out of it and make sure that
- 1:50:04Speaker 1: all laws that get passed are for the benefit of
- 1:50:06Speaker 1: the society and the people.
- 1:50:07Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 1:50:08Speaker 1: Not individual corporations or individual people. Yeah, definitely not. And
- 1:50:13Speaker 1: then you go even further than that. You'd say, well,
- 1:50:16Speaker 1: let's make sure that the people that are doing the
- 1:50:20Speaker 1: job are compensated fairly but are not allowed to insider trade.
- 1:50:25Speaker 2: Yeah, isn't that– We're being grifted, Joe.
- 1:50:29Speaker 1: 100%.
- 1:50:30Speaker 2: We are being grifted.
- 1:50:31Speaker 1: No ifs, ands, or buts about that.
- 1:50:33Speaker 2: I was listening to this story. It was really about
- 1:50:37Speaker 2: Chinese politics, and I don't think communism is the answer
- 1:50:40Speaker 2: to anything. But you don't just— it' s not a— the leader is
- 1:50:44Speaker 2: not a popularity contest. That's somebody that's been in this
- 1:50:46Speaker 2: business for 40 years, you know, that knows how to
- 1:50:49Speaker 2: run a country. It's not a just, here's this guy.
- 1:50:52Speaker 2: We'll let this guy do it. Everybody seems to like
- 1:50:54Speaker 2: this guy. You know, it's all— come from the ground up,
- 1:50:58Speaker 2: you know, and China works pretty well, I think, you know,
- 1:51:03Speaker 2: I don't know. I've never been there, but it makes
- 1:51:06Speaker 2: sense that people in those powerful jobs should have a
- 1:51:08Speaker 2: lot of experience.
- 1:51:10Speaker 1: That, but they also can't be removed. They have total power.
- 1:51:14Speaker 1: And if you say anything about the government, they will
- 1:51:18Speaker 1: literally put you in a prison somewhere. They'll put you
- 1:51:20Speaker 1: in a camp somewhere. They've removed people. They've silenced people.
- 1:51:24Speaker 1: They've Even billionaires, they've made them disappear. You can't step
- 1:51:28Speaker 1: out of line. And the government and the businesses work
- 1:51:31Speaker 1: hand in glove. That's it.
- 1:51:32Speaker 2: Period.
- 1:51:33Speaker 1: There's no government, no business that works without the influence
- 1:51:37Speaker 1: of the government over there. So they have giant problems too.
- 1:51:41Speaker 1: But they probably have better leadership in terms of strengthening
- 1:51:45Speaker 1: their country. But it's terrible for freedom. What you need
- 1:51:49Speaker 1: is like, I've heard the argument. I don't agree with it,
- 1:51:52Speaker 1: but What you need is great leaders, right? But what
- 1:51:55Speaker 1: you need is like a benevolent dictator, like someone who
- 1:51:57Speaker 1: really does care, someone who really is a good person
- 1:52:00Speaker 1: and genuinely doesn't want for anything or need for anything
- 1:52:04Speaker 1: and just wants to try to make their mark and
- 1:52:06Speaker 1: make the world a better place.
- 1:52:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:52:07Speaker 1: That doesn't exist.
- 1:52:08Speaker 2: It doesn't. And why not? Why not?
- 1:52:10Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:52:10Speaker 1: Because most of the people that get the job, that's
- 1:52:14Speaker 1: not who they are. Most of the people are either
- 1:52:17Speaker 1: warmongers or pussyhounds. They're power brokers. They're people who want
- 1:52:22Speaker 1: the feeling of being the top dog. Those are the
- 1:52:25Speaker 1: people that generally get to those positions. Because the struggle
- 1:52:29Speaker 1: is so hard to get there. And then they're going
- 1:52:31Speaker 1: to tear you down and attack you and pull up
- 1:52:33Speaker 1: things from your past. And most people don't want to
- 1:52:36Speaker 1: go through that. And so a lot of people that
- 1:52:37Speaker 1: may be good leaders never want that position.
- 1:52:40Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:52:40Speaker 2: Because it's a shit job.
- 1:52:41Speaker 1: And it doesn't even pay well.
- 1:52:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:52:43Speaker 1: It's like it pays a half a million dollars a
- 1:52:44Speaker 1: year and these guys that are– which is good money
- 1:52:47Speaker 1: for a real job. But like if you're being the
- 1:52:49Speaker 1: president of the United States, you're around billionaires and there's
- 1:52:52Speaker 1: all this influence. And then they leave the job and
- 1:52:54Speaker 1: then they get these speaking gigs. So they talk at
- 1:52:57Speaker 1: a conference of bankers for a half a million bucks.
- 1:52:59Speaker 2: You're like, what? Right.
- 1:53:01Speaker 1: What is this? What is this shenanigans that you're involved in?
- 1:53:05Speaker 2: It's the way it is. The job doesn't pay much,
- 1:53:08Speaker 2: but the job pays a lot if you work it
- 1:53:11Speaker 2: that way.
- 1:53:11Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:53:12Speaker 1: They all leave rich. Jimmy Carter was, like, the only
- 1:53:18Speaker 1: one that, like, kind of stayed reasonable his whole life.
- 1:53:22Speaker 1: He never became a rich guy after he left office. Basically,
- 1:53:27Speaker 1: that's who he was. He stayed the same way.
- 1:53:30Speaker 2: I think Tallarico might be one of those guys.
- 1:53:32Speaker 1: Well, I would hope so. You know, look, it's always
- 1:53:35Speaker 1: good to assume the best about people. He said some
- 1:53:40Speaker 1: things that I think are questionable.
- 1:53:43Speaker 2: Yeah, but, you know, God is non-binary. He said that
- 1:53:46Speaker 2: one time. And then people were like, I don't know
- 1:53:49Speaker 2: what non-binary means. And that makes me nervous.
- 1:53:53Speaker 1: I get what he's saying there. God is not a sex.
- 1:53:55Speaker 2: It doesn't matter if it's a man or a woman.
- 1:53:57Speaker 1: Yeah, it's God. It's an infinite loving force. It's not
- 1:54:00Speaker 1: as simple as.
- 1:54:01Speaker 2: I get it, too.
- 1:54:02Speaker 1: I get what he's saying. It's just what you're saying
- 1:54:04Speaker 1: is also like you're, you know, I get people that
- 1:54:08Speaker 1: want to say they're not a man or a woman.
- 1:54:10Speaker 1: Because I feel like you should say whatever you want
- 1:54:12Speaker 1: to say. But to say that that's a thing is
- 1:54:15Speaker 1: a different thing. Like if you're a biologist and you
- 1:54:19Speaker 1: say there's non-binary people, like are there? Like what are
- 1:54:22Speaker 1: we saying? There's XX and XY. And there's people that
- 1:54:26Speaker 1: are intersex. There's people that have this weird thing. Like
- 1:54:28Speaker 1: there's women that are born XY. So they're a man.
- 1:54:33Speaker 1: But they have their testicles inside of their bodies. And
- 1:54:37Speaker 1: they also have androgen-resistant genetics somehow or another. So they
- 1:54:41Speaker 1: never become like masculine and they look really feminine, but
- 1:54:46Speaker 1: they're essentially XY chromosome. There's weirdness. That's really what like
- 1:54:50Speaker 1: non-binary is. That's real non-binary. That's like very strange. That's
- 1:54:53Speaker 1: like your intersex. But some people just don't feel comfortable
- 1:54:57Speaker 1: in their skin and they don't want to be labeled
- 1:54:59Speaker 1: a male or a female. They just want to be
- 1:55:01Speaker 1: whatever they are, which is fine. But when you're talking
- 1:55:04Speaker 1: about biology, I think we have to be able to
- 1:55:06Speaker 1: make a distinction. We have to know like what we're
- 1:55:09Speaker 1: actually talking about. Facts over feelings. Feelings are fine. You
- 1:55:14Speaker 1: should be able to say what you call yourself, Carol
- 1:55:17Speaker 1: or Bob or whatever you want to do, man. You
- 1:55:19Speaker 1: want to be a man now? Okay, you're a man.
- 1:55:21Speaker 1: I'm cool with that. But let's not let the nonsense
- 1:55:26Speaker 1: invade the actual analysis of what we're talking about. And
- 1:55:31Speaker 1: some of what we're talking about is just dysphoria. It's
- 1:55:34Speaker 1: gender dysphoria. That's what it's always been described as, which
- 1:55:38Speaker 1: is fine. You know, there's a lot of things that
- 1:55:40Speaker 1: people have wrong with them. It doesn't mean that, you know,
- 1:55:43Speaker 1: they're bad people. It doesn't mean that, you know, should
- 1:55:45Speaker 1: alienate them. They shouldn't have rights. And that's no one
- 1:55:48Speaker 1: saying that. You're saying like, no, you can't compete in
- 1:55:51Speaker 1: the women's division because you're not. You're a biological man.
- 1:55:54Speaker 1: I know you wish you were a woman and I
- 1:55:56Speaker 1: know you want to be identified as a woman. That's great.
- 1:55:59Speaker 1: But when it comes to sports.
- 1:56:00Speaker 2: Right. When it comes to tennis. Yeah. Stop. Stop.
- 1:56:03Speaker 1: Stop the nonsense. This is, you know, it's just. there's
- 1:56:07Speaker 1: a lot of like weird shit that goes along with compassion,
- 1:56:11Speaker 1: you know, where people don't want to look at reality
- 1:56:14Speaker 1: because reality itself is not compassionate. The reality itself is like,
- 1:56:18Speaker 1: you know, you are discriminatory or transphobic. You're this, you're
- 1:56:21Speaker 1: that like, okay, I'm not, that's not what we're saying.
- 1:56:25Speaker 1: Like we're saying like, you've got to be reasonable and
- 1:56:28Speaker 1: reasonable is you've got to know what's the difference between
- 1:56:31Speaker 1: a sex offender who decides he's a woman and wants
- 1:56:34Speaker 1: to hang around with women and Versus a guy who
- 1:56:37Speaker 1: has gender dysphoria and wants to be recognized.
- 1:56:40Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 1:56:41Speaker 1: Two different things.
- 1:56:42Speaker 2: And if I get it wrong, forgive me. You know,
- 1:56:45Speaker 2: if I don't call you the right name or whatever,
- 1:56:47Speaker 2: I suggest you try to grow a pretty thick skin
- 1:56:50Speaker 2: because people are always going to be mean, you know,
- 1:56:52Speaker 2: so just let it run down your back. I mean,
- 1:56:55Speaker 2: I've got thick skin, you know.
- 1:56:58Speaker 1: It's a complicated conversation because it's not one that we
- 1:57:01Speaker 1: all thought we were going to have 20 years ago.
- 1:57:02Speaker 6: No.
- 1:57:03Speaker 1: That was going to be the forefront of. society discussion
- 1:57:06Speaker 1: about gender.
- 1:57:07Speaker 2: It's odd. It's very odd.
- 1:57:09Speaker 1: I just, I don't like it being promoted for young
- 1:57:12Speaker 1: people because young people are getting surgeries and taking chemical
- 1:57:15Speaker 1: castration drugs and doing, which is essentially what hormone blockers are.
- 1:57:18Speaker 1: They're the same category of drugs they use for sex
- 1:57:22Speaker 1: offenders when they chemically castrate them. It's fucked. To do
- 1:57:26Speaker 1: that to kids is fucked. Do that to kids that
- 1:57:28Speaker 1: don't know what they're doing yet. They're confused and there's
- 1:57:31Speaker 1: a lot of detransitioners, man. There's a lot of people
- 1:57:33Speaker 1: that went through that and really wish they didn't. And
- 1:57:36Speaker 1: they get ostracized from the trans community. They get ostracized
- 1:57:39Speaker 1: from progressive communities. They get told they were never trans
- 1:57:43Speaker 1: to begin with. Like, what does that mean? What are
- 1:57:46Speaker 1: you saying? This is not like you're saying someone's not
- 1:57:48Speaker 1: black or not white. Like, just traits that are just,
- 1:57:54Speaker 1: they are what they are. You have blonde hair, you
- 1:57:56Speaker 1: have black hair. This is like what you're born with.
- 1:57:58Speaker 1: To say you are not really transgender is like, what
- 1:58:01Speaker 1: the fuck are you saying? You're making someone do something
- 1:58:05Speaker 1: to their body. You're doing something to them through surgery,
- 1:58:10Speaker 1: or through chemicals like this is to say that you're
- 1:58:13Speaker 1: not really one of you're not really transgender you just
- 1:58:16Speaker 1: did it like what i.
- 1:58:19Speaker 2: Don't know how about.
- 1:58:20Speaker 1: Recognize the fact that people are easily influenced and sometimes
- 1:58:22Speaker 1: people make mistakes and sometimes people get convinced or convince
- 1:58:26Speaker 1: themselves that they're they should do something because it's it's
- 1:58:30Speaker 1: fashionable in society and it's, it's culturally relevant currently.
- 1:58:34Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. You know, I'm not for any of that,
- 1:58:37Speaker 2: but I mean, I, I think try to be fair,
- 1:58:41Speaker 2: try to be nice and, and, you know, let them
- 1:58:44Speaker 2: do whatever the fuck they want to do. But, but even, uh,
- 1:58:47Speaker 2: Tallarico's against having any kind of surgery before 18 and, uh,
- 1:58:52Speaker 2: same as Paxson, but Paxson didn't cost this, uh, Tallarico
- 1:58:57Speaker 2: didn't cost this state $ 6 million in fines and lawsuits,
- 1:59:03Speaker 2: and that happened to Paxson. How did he cost?
- 1:59:05Speaker 1: What did he do?
- 1:59:06Speaker 2: Paxson? Yeah.
- 1:59:07Speaker 1: What did he do that cost $ 6 million?
- 1:59:10Speaker 2: Well, back in 2020, eight of his assistants turned him
- 1:59:15Speaker 2: into the FBI for fraud. One of them was a
- 1:59:17Speaker 2: 50-year Texas Ranger. He fired that guy, five decades of
- 1:59:21Speaker 2: service in the Texas Rangers. Well, that guy sued him.
- 1:59:26Speaker 2: And they fired four of the eight people that turned
- 1:59:31Speaker 2: him in. He did. They fired him. And then he
- 1:59:34Speaker 2: realized that he was going to get fucking sued over it.
- 1:59:38Speaker 2: And he came up with a solution. He was going
- 1:59:40Speaker 2: to give them $ 3 million to settle this case. And
- 1:59:44Speaker 2: then the House said, no, it's not coming from us.
- 1:59:47Speaker 2: And then they sued, won $ 6 million. And guess who
- 1:59:51Speaker 2: paid that $ 6 million? You and me paid the $ 6
- 1:59:55Speaker 2: million for his bribery and how he ever got out
- 1:59:58Speaker 2: of this stuff. He was impeached by the House. His
- 2:00:01Speaker 2: own party impeached him. 121 votes to 22. And then
- 2:00:06Speaker 2: the Senate put him back in because they didn't want
- 2:00:08Speaker 2: to lose the seat. But he's a criminal, just a
- 2:00:12Speaker 2: piece of shit.
- 2:00:14Speaker 1: I don't know enough about him. But I do know
- 2:00:17Speaker 1: that they're surprised that Tallarico is ahead of him in
- 2:00:19Speaker 1: the polls.
- 2:00:20Speaker 2: I'm not. I think that people are sick of what's
- 2:00:22Speaker 2: going on right now in Texas. They've been in control
- 2:00:26Speaker 2: for 30 years. What have they given us? Let somebody
- 2:00:30Speaker 2: else fucking drive. You know, they're jacking with my marijuana
- 2:00:34Speaker 2: and I'm ready to get them out.
- 2:00:36Speaker 1: The marijuana thing is just so stupid because if you
- 2:00:39Speaker 1: look at the national polls, it's something in the range
- 2:00:41Speaker 1: of 70 percent of people think it should be legal. Right.
- 2:00:44Speaker 2: And we should decide, right? We, the people, should decide. Yeah.
- 2:00:48Speaker 1: And if you find out that these people who are
- 2:00:50Speaker 1: making these decisions have been influenced by the alcohol lobby
- 2:00:53Speaker 1: or by anybody else.
- 2:00:54Speaker 2: Hung by the neck until dead. That's what I'm saying.
- 2:00:58Speaker 2: Let's get some severe penalties in there.
- 2:01:01Speaker 1: It's corruption. And it's bad for us. And it's also
- 2:01:04Speaker 1: bad for the look of Texas. Texas is supposed to
- 2:01:06Speaker 1: be a place that's about freedom. And it is in
- 2:01:08Speaker 1: a lot of ways. But in that way, it's definitely not.
- 2:01:12Speaker 1: And it's definitely stupid. Again, we looked at what California
- 2:01:14Speaker 1: is making, just the tax revenue, $ 7 billion. B, with
- 2:01:19Speaker 1: a B.
- 2:01:19Speaker 2: With a B. Yeah.
- 2:01:21Speaker 1: And is there some enormous problems that have taken place?
- 2:01:25Speaker 2: No. No, no. You know what is? The problem is
- 2:01:28Speaker 2: alcohol sales are down. That's the problem. That's what got
- 2:01:33Speaker 2: it all stirred up. Alcohol is tanking it right now.
- 2:01:36Speaker 2: I mean, wine, liquor, tequila, all of it is 20%
- 2:01:39Speaker 2: or more off.
- 2:01:42Speaker 1: What do you think is the cause of that?
- 2:01:43Speaker 2: Well, it's that younger generation just doesn't feel the need
- 2:01:46Speaker 2: to go get hammered every night. They don't have the
- 2:01:49Speaker 2: wallet for it. The kids are broke. You know, they
- 2:01:52Speaker 2: got $ 80, 000 worth of fucking school debt that your kids
- 2:01:55Speaker 2: don't have and my kid doesn't have. And, you know,
- 2:01:59Speaker 2: there's just no money for it. And then they go
- 2:02:01Speaker 2: to these clubs and they like to... smoke some weed
- 2:02:04Speaker 2: and go in there and not drink.
- 2:02:07Speaker 1: Also, they don't like hangovers.
- 2:02:09Speaker 2: Yeah, and I'm right there with them. I mean, I
- 2:02:11Speaker 2: think it's a better way. I mean, I can't go
- 2:02:14Speaker 2: through this life without some kind of buzz. I need it.
- 2:02:19Speaker 2: But liquor was the wrong one for me, and I
- 2:02:22Speaker 2: just found better ways. There's more than one way to
- 2:02:24Speaker 2: skin a goddamn cat.
- 2:02:27Speaker 1: I know, and the only reason why that stuff is
- 2:02:28Speaker 1: illegal is corruption. It's stupid, all of it. whether it's
- 2:02:31Speaker 1: marijuana or mushrooms or all these things, we should understand them,
- 2:02:36Speaker 1: study them, and they benefit a lot of people and
- 2:02:38Speaker 1: they should be legal, period. Everybody thinks not, either hasn't
- 2:02:42Speaker 1: done them or doesn't know what they're talking about or
- 2:02:44Speaker 1: is coming from a very authoritarian perspective where you think
- 2:02:48Speaker 1: the government should be allowed to control people's behavior. And
- 2:02:50Speaker 1: I think that's fucking ridiculous.
- 2:02:52Speaker 2: I think it's fucking ridiculous too, Joe. Fucking ridiculous.
- 2:02:55Speaker 1: I'm glad we're on the right page.
- 2:02:56Speaker 2: Huh?
- 2:02:57Speaker 1: I said I'm glad we're on the right page.
- 2:02:58Speaker 2: We're on the same page. We're on the same page.
- 2:03:02Speaker 3: You think cameras have anything to do with it?
- 2:03:04Speaker 1: What do you mean?
- 2:03:04Speaker 3: People recording people doing dumb shit and not being free
- 2:03:07Speaker 3: to be.
- 2:03:08Speaker 1: Oh, that stops people from getting drunk?
- 2:03:10Speaker 2: Maybe. Nah. Never stop me.
- 2:03:13Speaker 3: I'm talking about the kids.
- 2:03:14Speaker 2: You were talking about kids.
- 2:03:15Speaker 1: Do you think so? Is that what you think?
- 2:03:17Speaker 3: I sort of was asking.
- 2:03:18Speaker 2: Maybe. Could be.
- 2:03:19Speaker 1: Maybe.
- 2:03:20Speaker 3: Afraid to be caught doing dumb shit.
- 2:03:21Speaker 1: Well, people are very aware of being caught and getting
- 2:03:25Speaker 1: embarrassed because so many people have gone viral these days. Maybe.
- 2:03:29Speaker 1: Maybe it's a factor.
- 2:03:30Speaker 2: Possible. What'd they do to Jelly Roll, man? I said,
- 2:03:33Speaker 2: poor Jelly Roll. All he did was say the president
- 2:03:36Speaker 2: was a fat pig like me. That's what he said. Yeah.
- 2:03:39Speaker 1: And then he said, if you're a Trump supporter, don't
- 2:03:42Speaker 1: listen to my music.
- 2:03:43Speaker 2: Well, that was after they canceled him anyway. And so he,
- 2:03:47Speaker 2: I mean, I'm not really, I like Jelly Roll fine.
- 2:03:51Speaker 2: I don't know him that well, but you know, but
- 2:03:53Speaker 2: I wasn't a big listener anyway, but I've met him
- 2:03:57Speaker 2: a couple of times, seemed like a nice guy to him.
- 2:03:59Speaker 2: My boy, they went nuts. Yeah. I mean, nuts.
- 2:04:03Speaker 1: Get him out of here.
- 2:04:04Speaker 2: Never listen to his music. What did he say?
- 2:04:06Speaker 1: I didn't see what he said. I heard about it.
- 2:04:10Speaker 1: But Jelly Roll's a sweetheart.
- 2:04:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:04:12Speaker 1: I wouldn't have advised him to say the thing he said.
- 2:04:14Speaker 2: I wouldn't have either. I've always been careful with that
- 2:04:16Speaker 2: kind of stuff, you know. Don't be stupid, Ron. Don't
- 2:04:20Speaker 2: be stupid.
- 2:04:21Speaker 1: Well, he was on the Jimmy Kimmel show, right?
- 2:04:24Speaker 2: Right.
- 2:04:25Speaker 1: He was doing a monologue. I don't even know if
- 2:04:26Speaker 1: he wrote it. It could have been the writers from
- 2:04:29Speaker 1: the Jimmy Kimmel show who are obviously very anti-Trump, or
- 2:04:32Speaker 1: at least Kimmel is very openly anti-Trump. So they could
- 2:04:37Speaker 1: have just tricked him into doing it.
- 2:04:40Speaker 2: Tricked him into throwing his career right out the goddamn window.
- 2:04:43Speaker 1: Look, he's super talented.
- 2:04:45Speaker 2: He'll be fine.
- 2:04:46Speaker 1: It'll be one of those things where it's a bump
- 2:04:48Speaker 1: in the road. and he'll have to get over it.
- 2:04:50Speaker 2: I hope so. He seemed like such a nice guy
- 2:04:52Speaker 2: when I met him.
- 2:04:53Speaker 1: He is. He's a sweetheart.
- 2:04:54Speaker 2: He'd been a Ron White fan since he was a kid,
- 2:04:57Speaker 2: you know, and I gotta have a warm place in
- 2:04:59Speaker 2: my heart for those kind of folks.
- 2:05:00Speaker 1: Well, he's also going through a lot of different changes
- 2:05:02Speaker 1: in his life, right? Like, so here he loses 300 pounds,
- 2:05:05Speaker 1: which is a giant change. Gets hooked on fitness. This
- 2:05:09Speaker 1: is a giant change. Changes his whole life. Changes his body.
- 2:05:12Speaker 1: Did the ways to well thing, just like you. And
- 2:05:14Speaker 1: then he gets divorced. So that's another big change. So
- 2:05:17Speaker 1: he's got these two giant changes, and then he's on
- 2:05:19Speaker 1: the Kimmel show and he's saying stupid things.
- 2:05:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:05:21Speaker 1: Well, he's saying jokes. I shouldn't even say he's saying
- 2:05:23Speaker 1: stupid things. He's saying, I'm not even saying it's stupid.
- 2:05:28Speaker 1: I'm just saying like, if you want people to like you,
- 2:05:31Speaker 1: like going after Trump and that from, especially from his perspective,
- 2:05:35Speaker 1: like as a country guy, like that's a giant chunk
- 2:05:39Speaker 1: of your crowd.
- 2:05:40Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 2:05:41Speaker 1: But if you feel like that's what he was doing,
- 2:05:43Speaker 1: stand up, you know, uh, at the club.
- 2:05:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:05:46Speaker 1: He did it a bunch of times, and he was practicing.
- 2:05:48Speaker 1: So I think that's also one of the reasons why
- 2:05:50Speaker 1: he wanted to host the Kimmel Show.
- 2:05:53Speaker 2: I think that might have been rushed a little bit.
- 2:05:58Speaker 2: Stand-up's really hard.
- 2:05:59Speaker 1: It's a long road.
- 2:06:00Speaker 2: It is.
- 2:06:01Speaker 1: He got laughs. He had some good lines. But it was,
- 2:06:04Speaker 1: you know, it was what you expect from someone who's
- 2:06:07Speaker 1: beginning their stand-up journey. But I think, you know, if
- 2:06:12Speaker 1: you know the guy, and I do, he's the best.
- 2:06:14Speaker 2: He's a sweetheart.
- 2:06:16Speaker 1: I mean, at least my experiences with him have all
- 2:06:18Speaker 1: been awesome and with other people that I know.
- 2:06:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:06:20Speaker 1: He's a very jolly, friendly, lovable guy. But like all people,
- 2:06:25Speaker 1: he is human and humans do things that other humans
- 2:06:28Speaker 1: don't like. And then you suffer the consequences and, you know.
- 2:06:31Speaker 2: Right.
- 2:06:33Speaker 1: I think he'll be fine. He'll be fine because he's
- 2:06:34Speaker 1: super talented. I mean, he's a fucking brilliant singer and
- 2:06:38Speaker 1: brilliant songwriter.
- 2:06:40Speaker 2: We'll see.
- 2:06:41Speaker 1: I think he'll be fine. I think, you know, if
- 2:06:43Speaker 1: he could do it all again, I bet he probably wouldn't.
- 2:06:46Speaker 1: That's part of life.
- 2:06:48Speaker 2: You can't back up.
- 2:06:49Speaker 3: No.
- 2:06:52Speaker 1: You do some things you wish you hadn't, you go, oh, shit.
- 2:06:55Speaker 1: You know, but talented people. Like, look at Kanye West.
- 2:06:58Speaker 1: He had a fucking diamond swastika around his neck a
- 2:07:01Speaker 1: year later. He's selling out giant arenas. Right.
- 2:07:04Speaker 2: I can't explain. I can't explain Kanye.
- 2:07:07Speaker 1: People bounce back. Well, he's super talented. I mean, that's
- 2:07:12Speaker 1: really the thing.
- 2:07:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:07:13Speaker 1: Unbelievably prolific and super talented and driven. Right. Like a motherfucker.
- 2:07:18Speaker 2: And full-blown nuts. Yep. Just like us.
- 2:07:25Speaker 1: Just in a different way. I mean, everybody's fucking crazy.
- 2:07:28Speaker 1: That's the thing. People are attacking Jelly Roll. One of
- 2:07:31Speaker 1: the reasons people like to do that is they're terrified
- 2:07:33Speaker 1: of them ever doing something that stupid. And so then
- 2:07:36Speaker 1: when someone does do something that they think is stupid,
- 2:07:39Speaker 1: they just can't wait to attack.
- 2:07:40Speaker 2: Boy.
- 2:07:41Speaker 1: Especially someone that's like on top.
- 2:07:42Speaker 2: Of the world with a jelly roll. Relentless. I know. Every,
- 2:07:46Speaker 2: I mean, I've watched TikTok, you know, and I've just
- 2:07:49Speaker 2: seen those feeds coming through. It is jelly roll. Boy,
- 2:07:52Speaker 2: they're losing their minds over it. I'm like, what? Trump
- 2:07:56Speaker 2: invented name calling. He's the one that brought it back
- 2:07:59Speaker 2: from the death with ellen degenerate that was the first
- 2:08:03Speaker 2: one he did i think yeah and uh like oh
- 2:08:06Speaker 2: name calling that's what we're back.
- 2:08:07Speaker 1: To i don't even know what the joke was it
- 2:08:10Speaker 1: was saying trump's a fat fuck just like me like.
- 2:08:12Speaker 2: What was he saying that's what he said i mean
- 2:08:14Speaker 2: i don't i don't know what the whole bit was
- 2:08:16Speaker 2: but that's all it was but he uh he said
- 2:08:19Speaker 2: uh Trump is a— Trump' s like me. He's a fat pig.
- 2:08:24Speaker 2: That's it? That's it.
- 2:08:25Speaker 1: And that's what they got mad at?
- 2:08:26Speaker 2: That's what they got mad at. He called the president
- 2:08:27Speaker 2: a fat pig. That's interesting. And he's kind of fat.
- 2:08:30Speaker 1: Well, he's definitely not thin.
- 2:08:31Speaker 2: Yeah. Not from where I'm sitting.
- 2:08:36Speaker 1: I mean, was the joke, like, he could lose weight
- 2:08:38Speaker 1: because I lost weight? I mean, what was he saying?
- 2:08:41Speaker 1: I just think he was saying— Should we play it? Yeah.
- 2:08:46Speaker 1: All right, let's play it. Oh, it says here.
- 2:08:48Speaker 2: Okay.
- 2:08:48Speaker 1: Fat pig comment. Jelly Roll joked that his own 300-pound
- 2:08:54Speaker 1: weight loss meant he essentially lost an entire Donald Trump.
- 2:08:58Speaker 1: The fat pig comment, he quoted past remarks Trump made
- 2:09:01Speaker 1: about others and said, well, Mr. President, from one fat
- 2:09:04Speaker 1: pig to another, take it from me that physical fitness
- 2:09:07Speaker 1: is very important. Huh, that's not bad. Right. That's not
- 2:09:10Speaker 1: bad at all. From one fat pig to another.
- 2:09:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:09:14Speaker 1: Saying that he lost an entire Donald Trump. Okay, he did.
- 2:09:16Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:09:17Speaker 1: Like literally, he lost 300 pounds. That's more than a
- 2:09:19Speaker 1: Trump probably. And then he said, from one fat pig
- 2:09:22Speaker 1: to another, take it from me that physical fitness is
- 2:09:25Speaker 1: very important. Is that terrible?
- 2:09:27Speaker 2: Yeah. No.
- 2:09:28Speaker 1: That's not terrible at all.
- 2:09:30Speaker 2: And that's it.
- 2:09:31Speaker 1: So maybe the real problem was him.
- 2:09:36Speaker 2: Being on Kimmel to begin with would be a mark
- 2:09:39Speaker 2: against him.
- 2:09:41Speaker 1: And then maybe saying, if you're a Trump supporter, don't
- 2:09:43Speaker 1: listen to my music.
- 2:09:45Speaker 2: But that was the next day or whatever.
- 2:09:47Speaker 1: Yeah, you can play it.
- 2:09:48Speaker 4: Sadly, those are the only laps Trump's been doing lately.
- 2:09:52Speaker 4: According to the Washington Post, a lot of doctors are
- 2:09:55Speaker 4: worried about the president's weight. After his last physical, we
- 2:09:58Speaker 4: found out Trump gained 14 pounds, which means he's now
- 2:10:01Speaker 4: tipping the scales at almost 240.
- 2:10:02Speaker 2: It's crazy. Think about this, y'all.
- 2:10:06Speaker 4: In the last few years, I've lost 300 pounds. That
- 2:10:21Speaker 4: means I've lost an entire Donald Trump. And let's be honest,
- 2:10:27Speaker 4: based on his approval ratings, it seems like most of
- 2:10:29Speaker 4: the country wants to do the same thing. Now, listen,
- 2:10:38Speaker 4: we should take it easy, y'all. We shouldn't be making
- 2:10:40Speaker 4: fun of the president for his weight because we know
- 2:10:41Speaker 4: that he would never do that to other people.
- 2:10:44Speaker 6: I don't speak badly about somebody's physical disability, but he's
- 2:10:51Speaker 6: got the biggest stomach I have ever seen.
- 2:10:53Speaker 2: He's actually fatter than ever.
- 2:10:55Speaker 6: The mayor is incompetent, and the governor is.
- 2:11:00Speaker 6: A big fat slob.
- 2:11:03Speaker 2: I told you, I have a friend of mine. He's
- 2:11:05Speaker 2: fat as... Are you a dinosaur guy like this?
- 2:11:07Speaker 6: He said, Chris Christie's a fat pig.
- 2:11:09Speaker 1: You cannot do that.
- 2:11:10Speaker 6: Chris Christie is not a fat pig. He is not
- 2:11:13Speaker 6: a fat pig. He's not a fat pig. Don't call
- 2:11:15Speaker 6: him a fat pig. Sir, in the back, don't call
- 2:11:18Speaker 6: him a fat pig, okay? I don't talk about people
- 2:11:21Speaker 6: being fat. I refuse to talk about the fact that
- 2:11:25Speaker 6: he's a fat slob. I don't mention it.
- 2:11:29Speaker 2: Well, if that ain't the pot calling the kettle fat. Well, Mr.
- 2:11:41Speaker 4: President, from one fat pig to another, take it from
- 2:11:43Speaker 4: me that physical fitness is very important. And trust me,
- 2:11:46Speaker 4: you'll be happy to see your penis again.
- 2:11:54Speaker 1: I just speak from a little bit of experience here, y'all.
- 2:11:56Speaker 4: The first time I seen mine recently, I was surprised
- 2:11:58Speaker 4: at how cute it was.
- 2:12:01Speaker 1: It's rudimentary stand-up, right? He's learning how to do stand-up,
- 2:12:05Speaker 1: so it's almost like he's a politician talking.
- 2:12:06Speaker 2: I got to tell you, I think he did a
- 2:12:08Speaker 2: pretty good job with that.
- 2:12:09Speaker 1: He did a very good job. But, I mean, you
- 2:12:10Speaker 1: know what I'm saying? It's monologue-type stand-up, and clearly someone
- 2:12:15Speaker 1: wrote it, and he's reading it off a teleprompter. Yeah.
- 2:12:19Speaker 2: Probably. But anyway, it wasn't, you know, it certainly wasn't bad.
- 2:12:24Speaker 2: I mean, it was just jokes.
- 2:12:26Speaker 1: It's just jokes. If someone got so upset they never
- 2:12:29Speaker 1: want to listen to Jelly Rolls music again after that.
- 2:12:31Speaker 2: They're crying. They're crying. They're in tears. I see it.
- 2:12:36Speaker 2: I see it.
- 2:12:37Speaker 1: Yeah, it wasn't the funniest stuff. But I mean, he didn't,
- 2:12:39Speaker 1: that's someone, they wrote that shit for him. I guarantee you.
- 2:12:41Speaker 2: I'm sure they did.
- 2:12:43Speaker 6: 100%.
- 2:12:43Speaker 1: You could tell he was reading it. It wasn't like
- 2:12:45Speaker 1: he was just speaking off the cuff. He was 100%
- 2:12:46Speaker 1: reading a thing.
- 2:12:49Speaker 2: He looked good, though.
- 2:12:50Speaker 1: He looked great.
- 2:12:50Speaker 2: Didn't he? He looked kind of handsome.
- 2:12:52Speaker 1: He's very handsome now. He lost a lot of weight, man.
- 2:12:54Speaker 1: I mean, the guy, when he came to do the podcast,
- 2:12:57Speaker 1: he ran six and a half miles on the treadmill
- 2:12:59Speaker 1: while we were hanging out.
- 2:13:00Speaker 2: No shit. Oh, yeah.
- 2:13:02Speaker 1: And talking while he's running. So I'm working out. I'm
- 2:13:05Speaker 1: in front of him working out, lifting weights, and he's
- 2:13:07Speaker 1: running on this treadmill the entire time and talking while
- 2:13:09Speaker 1: he's running.
- 2:13:10Speaker 2: Wow.
- 2:13:11Speaker 1: Yeah, he's fit now. It's kind of crazy. We went
- 2:13:13Speaker 1: to see him, you know, he performed at, you know,
- 2:13:16Speaker 1: Matthew McConaughey has that Mac and Jack, that big thing
- 2:13:19Speaker 1: that they do where it's a big, it's a charity
- 2:13:22Speaker 1: benefit and auction and he has people perform. So he,
- 2:13:27Speaker 1: Jelly Roll performed. He was a performer that night. And
- 2:13:29Speaker 1: then as he's coming off the stage, there's this stairway
- 2:13:34Speaker 1: with a railing on it. And we're, me and Tony
- 2:13:37Speaker 1: are over to the left side. We're, you know, behind
- 2:13:40Speaker 1: the stage. He grabs a hold of the railing and
- 2:13:42Speaker 1: jumps over it. And I go, do you know what
- 2:13:44Speaker 1: you just did? I go, you used to be 500 pounds,
- 2:13:47Speaker 1: and now you just grabbed a railing and jumped over
- 2:13:49Speaker 1: it like a cat. Like, that's crazy.
- 2:13:51Speaker 3: Wow.
- 2:13:51Speaker 1: So you're a different human being.
- 2:13:53Speaker 2: That's kind of inspiring, actually.
- 2:13:54Speaker 1: It's very inspiring. Yeah, I wish he didn't say that stuff. But,
- 2:13:58Speaker 1: I mean, it's just sometimes the juice is not worth
- 2:14:01Speaker 1: the squeeze.
- 2:14:02Speaker 2: Yeah, you're right about that. You know? You got to
- 2:14:04Speaker 2: figure out the juice and the squeeze, baby. You got
- 2:14:06Speaker 2: to figure it out.
- 2:14:08Speaker 1: But, you know, if you know Jelly Roll, he's a
- 2:14:10Speaker 1: great guy. It's just. That kind of monologue, stand-up stuff,
- 2:14:15Speaker 1: it is funny seeing all the different times Trump called
- 2:14:19Speaker 1: people fat, though. That is fucking hilarious.
- 2:14:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:14:24Speaker 1: But, you know, Trump supporters are fucking nuts, man. They're rabid.
- 2:14:28Speaker 1: He represents something other than just a person to them.
- 2:14:31Speaker 2: Oh, it's Christ. Yeah.
- 2:14:33Speaker 1: Well, he represents something, a leader that they wish they had,
- 2:14:37Speaker 1: you know? Yep. Which is a real problem in our
- 2:14:40Speaker 1: society in general with leaders. We look to them as
- 2:14:43Speaker 1: if they're something different than every other person that's ever
- 2:14:45Speaker 1: been a leader before. Like, this is the one. This
- 2:14:48Speaker 1: is the one that's going to save us.
- 2:14:50Speaker 6: Right.
- 2:14:50Speaker 2: And you know what? Some people are hopeless. And anybody
- 2:14:53Speaker 2: that says, well, I'll give you hope, then what are
- 2:14:58Speaker 2: you going to do? I've said this more than once
- 2:15:05Speaker 2: back when, that if you really want to improve your
- 2:15:09Speaker 2: lot in life and you don't really have anything, you
- 2:15:11Speaker 2: don't really have an education, you should be Bernie fucking Sanders,
- 2:15:15Speaker 2: you know, is your guy. Because he wants to get
- 2:15:18Speaker 2: the minimum wage up. You think somebody's going to come
- 2:15:21Speaker 2: in and hand you a bunch of loot. That's never
- 2:15:22Speaker 2: going to happen. Maybe you can make a couple more
- 2:15:24Speaker 2: bucks an hour. Go with that. You know, that's not.
- 2:15:28Speaker 2: Is it Bernie Sanders? Yeah. Yeah.
- 2:15:30Speaker 1: The guy from Vermont.
- 2:15:31Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. OK. So, you know, he was really trying
- 2:15:34Speaker 2: to help. But they're like, that's not enough.
- 2:15:37Speaker 1: Well, they didn't want him. The Democratic establishment did not
- 2:15:41Speaker 1: want that guy. That was the first time that I
- 2:15:43Speaker 1: ever got attacked when I had Bernie on. And someone
- 2:15:48Speaker 1: was on the podcast. They said, who are you going
- 2:15:50Speaker 1: to vote for? I said, oh, it was Jimmy Dore.
- 2:15:51Speaker 1: And I said, if I was going to vote for anybody,
- 2:15:53Speaker 1: I'd probably vote for Bernie. He's the one who makes
- 2:15:55Speaker 1: the most sense. Like he's the only guy that's like
- 2:15:57Speaker 1: he's anti-war. He wants to take a small amount of
- 2:16:01Speaker 1: money from stock market speculation and use that to fund
- 2:16:06Speaker 1: a bunch of these social programs. I'm like, let's see.
- 2:16:09Speaker 1: This is a long time ago. I don't necessarily think
- 2:16:11Speaker 1: that I feel the same way anymore about him. One
- 2:16:15Speaker 1: of the reasons being is that he kind of gave
- 2:16:17Speaker 1: in to the Democratic establishment. He let them run him
- 2:16:20Speaker 1: over during that whole thing with Hillary where they rigged
- 2:16:23Speaker 1: the primary. He let them get away with stuff where
- 2:16:27Speaker 1: I think he should have put his foot down and said, this.
- 2:16:29Speaker 2: Is fucked up. You guys are.
- 2:16:31Speaker 1: Rigging the party. They haven't had a legit primary in, like, what,
- 2:16:36Speaker 1: more than a decade? That's not good. That's not good
- 2:16:40Speaker 1: if you want to be the party that's the solution
- 2:16:42Speaker 1: to change. Where's your primaries? What are you doing? Like,
- 2:16:46Speaker 1: when they installed Kamala, they just shoved her in there.
- 2:16:49Speaker 1: All of a sudden, this is our representative now. Biden's out.
- 2:16:52Speaker 1: And we were like, wait, what?
- 2:16:54Speaker 4: Right.
- 2:16:54Speaker 1: There's no primary? Like, what about the rules? What about
- 2:16:57Speaker 1: the way we've always done this?
- 2:16:58Speaker 2: Well, Biden was taking a nap. He had to do something.
- 2:17:02Speaker 1: It's amazing he's still alive. I thought he was going
- 2:17:05Speaker 1: to die right after he got out of office. I
- 2:17:07Speaker 1: thought he was probably barely hanging on, which is also
- 2:17:11Speaker 1: one of my big fears about him doing another four years. Like,
- 2:17:14Speaker 1: there's no way, no way he's going to make it
- 2:17:17Speaker 1: out of four years.
- 2:17:20Speaker 2: I don't know. It's all going to be over soon.
- 2:17:22Speaker 2: What do you mean?
- 2:17:23Speaker 1: AI or the apocalypse?
- 2:17:25Speaker 2: The apocalypse. Did you hear that? J.D.
- 2:17:27Speaker 1: Vance was doing a speech I was listening to on
- 2:17:28Speaker 1: the Tim Dillon Show.
- 2:17:29Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 2:17:29Speaker 3: I almost brought this up a second ago because I
- 2:17:31Speaker 3: just saw.
- 2:17:31Speaker 1: It on Twitter again.
- 2:17:32Speaker 2: Why is it?
- 2:17:33Speaker 1: He was talking about end times. What was his exact quote?
- 2:17:38Speaker 1: Let's play it. I'll pull it up. Let's play it.
- 2:17:41Speaker 1: First of all, who are you talking to that you
- 2:17:44Speaker 1: feel like this is the thing to say? this is
- 2:17:50Speaker 1: talking about like whether or not we're entering end times.
- 2:17:56Speaker 2: JD Vance was yes he's on Tim Dillon's.
- 2:18:01Speaker 1: Show no no no no no no he was just
- 2:18:04Speaker 1: giving this speech Tim Dillon was making fun of it
- 2:18:06Speaker 1: it was fucking hilarious what's he.
- 2:18:08Speaker 5: Saying friends and their, and their family. I, I, so I,
- 2:18:12Speaker 5: I tend to think like the, while I wouldn't be
- 2:18:16Speaker 5: shocked if we are living in the end times, what
- 2:18:18Speaker 5: I'm trying to focus on is doing as much of
- 2:18:21Speaker 5: God's work as possible right now.
- 2:18:23Speaker 1: And if that leads to the end times, okay.
- 2:18:26Speaker 5: And if that leads to, you know, us building a
- 2:18:29Speaker 5: better world that thrives and survives for a very long
- 2:18:32Speaker 5: time after I'm gone, that's great too. I just think you've.
- 2:18:38Speaker 2: Got to kind of try to have.
- 2:18:41Speaker 1: It sounds like he's saying if it lead that the
- 2:18:44Speaker 1: second hope is it leads to a great world.
- 2:18:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:18:48Speaker 1: But if it leads to the end times.
- 2:18:50Speaker 2: That's okay, too.
- 2:18:51Speaker 5: You know, us building a better world that thrives. And
- 2:18:55Speaker 5: if that leads to the end times, okay.
- 2:18:57Speaker 2: Not okay. Yeah.
- 2:18:59Speaker 1: What are you saying? If that leads to the end times, okay.
- 2:19:02Speaker 1: Not great. That's not okay. And if it doesn't lead
- 2:19:05Speaker 1: to the end times and everybody lives a great life, well,
- 2:19:07Speaker 1: that's great too.
- 2:19:08Speaker 2: That'd be just fine.
- 2:19:09Speaker 1: That doesn't seem like the optimum perspective.
- 2:19:13Speaker 2: What does he even say?
- 2:19:14Speaker 1: I feel like you should reverse those two. And the
- 2:19:17Speaker 1: goal is not end times. The goal is make a
- 2:19:21Speaker 1: beautiful world.
- 2:19:22Speaker 2: For all of us.
- 2:19:22Speaker 1: Where people thrive and everybody's happy.
- 2:19:25Speaker 2: And leave the end out.
- 2:19:27Speaker 1: That's the problem with religious people that are convinced that
- 2:19:29Speaker 1: there's a set of events. That have been predicted.
- 2:19:33Speaker 2: You think he's a religious person?
- 2:19:35Speaker 1: You think he's a fake religious person?
- 2:19:37Speaker 2: Vance? Yeah. J.D. Vance?
- 2:19:39Speaker 1: He's a Catholic. He's very religious. He wrote a book about,
- 2:19:44Speaker 1: what was his book?
- 2:19:44Speaker 3: Communion?
- 2:19:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:19:45Speaker 3: That one was called His Pitching.
- 2:19:47Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, he wrote a book about his spiritual journey.
- 2:19:52Speaker 2: Oh, I didn't. I saw the other movie.
- 2:19:54Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, that's why Communion, the other one.
- 2:19:56Speaker 5: I know.
- 2:19:57Speaker 1: I brought that up when he was on the podcast. Like,
- 2:19:58Speaker 1: you know, you wrote a book about a guy who
- 2:20:00Speaker 1: got abducted by aliens? That's the same book title. That's
- 2:20:04Speaker 1: Whitley Stryber's book, Communion.
- 2:20:06Speaker 2: Oh, shit. Really?
- 2:20:07Speaker 1: There's a famous movie with– who was in Communion? God
- 2:20:15Speaker 1: damn it.
- 2:20:16Speaker 3: I want to say something, but I don't think it's right.
- 2:20:20Speaker 2: 1989? I just knew about Hillbilly.
- 2:20:24Speaker 1: Christopher Walken. That's right.
- 2:20:25Speaker 2: I just knew about hillbilly allergy or whatever the fuck.
- 2:20:28Speaker 1: Yeah, that was his first book. And his new one
- 2:20:30Speaker 1: is Communion. But there was a book called Communion by
- 2:20:32Speaker 1: this guy, Whitley Stryber, who had been abducted by aliens, allegedly.
- 2:20:36Speaker 3: Do you know about the name changes?
- 2:20:37Speaker 2: What is that?
- 2:20:38Speaker 3: He's changed his name like four times.
- 2:20:42Speaker 1: What?
- 2:20:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:20:44Speaker 1: Wait a minute.
- 2:20:45Speaker 2: Okay.
- 2:20:45Speaker 1: James Donald Bowman, his birth name, James David Hamill, the
- 2:20:50Speaker 1: name given to him after his mother married her third husband. Well,
- 2:20:54Speaker 1: that's understandable.
- 2:20:55Speaker 3: Yeah, but he changed it when he was in high school,
- 2:20:56Speaker 3: I think, for that one.
- 2:20:57Speaker 1: But he adopted him. He went by J.D. Hamill through
- 2:21:01Speaker 1: high school. That makes sense. James David Vance, the name
- 2:21:04Speaker 1: he adopted in 2013 before graduating from law school, changing
- 2:21:09Speaker 1: his name to Vance to honor his maternal grandparents, Mama
- 2:21:13Speaker 1: and Papa, who helped raise him. Well, there's a logic
- 2:21:17Speaker 1: behind it, at least. It's not like he's, like, ducking
- 2:21:21Speaker 1: taxes or something like that.
- 2:21:23Speaker 3: I'm not saying that's why he did it, but how
- 2:21:24Speaker 3: many people do you know have changed their name like that?
- 2:21:27Speaker 1: Not many.
- 2:21:28Speaker 3: At least more than once.
- 2:21:29Speaker 1: That is odd. He did it three times.
- 2:21:32Speaker 2: Four.
- 2:21:33Speaker 1: I wonder if you're trying to reinvent yourself. Why do
- 2:21:35Speaker 1: you do that?
- 2:21:36Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 2:21:37Speaker 1: I don't like the end times talk.
- 2:21:38Speaker 2: I don't trust him.
- 2:21:39Speaker 1: I don't like that talk. That kind of talk is
- 2:21:41Speaker 1: crazy talk.
- 2:21:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:21:42Speaker 1: Like, if it's end times okay, no. Jamie said it best.
- 2:21:48Speaker 2: Not good. Not okay.
- 2:21:48Speaker 1: That's not okay.
- 2:21:49Speaker 2: That's not okay.
- 2:21:50Speaker 1: That's not okay. No, that spooks me out. That's, like,
- 2:21:55Speaker 1: I understand why people are attracted by religion. I understand
- 2:21:59Speaker 1: it from, like, giving you a moral framework and an
- 2:22:03Speaker 1: ethical framework. I get that. But when people think that
- 2:22:06Speaker 1: they absolutely know what the interpretations are and absolutely know
- 2:22:11Speaker 1: what's going to happen.
- 2:22:12Speaker 2: And I'll absolutely quit listening to them talk if that's
- 2:22:16Speaker 2: what they come at me with. I know and you
- 2:22:18Speaker 2: don't know. Well, my— My uncle was a Baptist preacher,
- 2:22:23Speaker 2: so I grew up in the church and was really
- 2:22:25Speaker 2: involved with every single aspect of the Baptist church. And
- 2:22:32Speaker 2: I believed that my uncle was who you met. He
- 2:22:36Speaker 2: smelled like piss, and he was having problems, but he...
- 2:22:41Speaker 2: But he was my hero my whole life because I
- 2:22:43Speaker 2: thought he was the only one that was telling me
- 2:22:46Speaker 2: the truth. And then he ends up hitting on my girlfriend.
- 2:22:48Speaker 1: He was an animal.
- 2:22:49Speaker 2: He was. He asked her to marry him. He asked
- 2:22:54Speaker 2: Jeannie to marry him.
- 2:22:55Speaker 1: That's hilarious.
- 2:22:57Speaker 2: I came home. They had watched a show. And then
- 2:22:58Speaker 2: they came back. And I had another show to do.
- 2:23:00Speaker 2: I came back. Nobody was in the living room. I
- 2:23:02Speaker 2: was staying at the condo. And I said, how'd it go?
- 2:23:05Speaker 2: And he goes, he asked me to marry him. And
- 2:23:08Speaker 2: I'm like, well, he was joking, right? And I said,
- 2:23:10Speaker 2: I'm in love with your nephew. And he goes, did
- 2:23:13Speaker 2: he ask you to marry him? I'm like, fuck, dude, really?
- 2:23:16Speaker 2: I mean, I never said it.
- 2:23:17Speaker 1: Wasn't he really old then?
- 2:23:19Speaker 2: Yeah, well, yeah, he's 90.
- 2:23:20Speaker 1: 90, yeah. I think he's kind of not really all there.
- 2:23:23Speaker 2: No, no, he's not all there anymore. But still, I
- 2:23:27Speaker 2: grew up in the church, and I understand the church. Right.
- 2:23:30Speaker 2: And I understand what's good about it. And yes, they
- 2:23:35Speaker 2: were teaching a good way of life. you know, to,
- 2:23:37Speaker 2: to be honest and, you know, all those things that
- 2:23:40Speaker 2: you should be and you should follow those 10 commandments anyway.
- 2:23:43Speaker 2: You know, they're all good except for one of them
- 2:23:45Speaker 2: or something. I don't want them. I don't like, but
- 2:23:48Speaker 2: I can't remember which one it was, but, um, but anyway, uh,
- 2:23:55Speaker 2: I came away from the whole thing with that. I'm like,
- 2:23:58Speaker 2: how do I know? You know, my family, we never
- 2:24:02Speaker 2: talked about politics that much. We were little town up
- 2:24:05Speaker 2: in the panhandle and the, They were all Baptist or
- 2:24:08Speaker 2: Church of Christ, and even they didn't agree with each other.
- 2:24:11Speaker 2: And the Church of Christ is kind of a Texas religion.
- 2:24:13Speaker 2: It started here. Oh, really? Yeah. And so it was
- 2:24:17Speaker 2: very small. But my grandmother was that. And so, you know,
- 2:24:21Speaker 2: she'd go around picking up all the little ladies and
- 2:24:24Speaker 2: go to this little church. And she spoke in tongues
- 2:24:26Speaker 2: every Sunday morning. She would stand up. And I was
- 2:24:31Speaker 2: sitting right next to her, and it embarrassed me every
- 2:24:33Speaker 2: single time. And then the preacher's wife would stand up
- 2:24:36Speaker 2: and interpret because she had the gift of interpretation. That's
- 2:24:40Speaker 2: one of the gifts. And it was always a fundraising thing.
- 2:24:44Speaker 2: You know, it was always the Lord telling you to
- 2:24:47Speaker 2: go deep into your wallet.
- 2:24:49Speaker 1: Oh, how convenient.
- 2:24:50Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:24:52Speaker 1: Did you ever see the, what is the gemstones? Fabulous gemstones?
- 2:24:55Speaker 2: What is it called?
- 2:24:56Speaker 1: Righteous. Righteous gemstones.
- 2:24:58Speaker 2: Funniest thing I've ever seen in my life.
- 2:24:59Speaker 1: Damn, that's a good show.
- 2:25:01Speaker 2: Oh, it is so rich, man. I just can't wait
- 2:25:03Speaker 2: for another fucking season of that.
- 2:25:05Speaker 1: That show is fucking phenomenal. And that's a real thing.
- 2:25:08Speaker 1: I mean, that's where Kinison started. You know, Kinison was
- 2:25:11Speaker 1: one of those revival preachers.
- 2:25:14Speaker 2: Right. Yeah. Yeah. And you know what? That's where I
- 2:25:17Speaker 2: learned this art form was watching my uncle preach. He
- 2:25:21Speaker 2: was very funny. And always getting a laugh on stage,
- 2:25:25Speaker 2: saving souls every fucking week. And I thought it was
- 2:25:28Speaker 2: the greatest thing ever. But he was a great orator,
- 2:25:30Speaker 2: you know, really, really good. And I know that's where
- 2:25:34Speaker 2: I learned I want to be that guy on stage,
- 2:25:36Speaker 2: but I just don't want to have a religious message.
- 2:25:39Speaker 2: You know, I want to be able to tell some
- 2:25:40Speaker 2: dick jokes. But that's where I got it, I know.
- 2:25:43Speaker 2: And that's where Chris Rock got his, too, you know.
- 2:25:45Speaker 2: His dad or uncle or something was a preacher, right,
- 2:25:48Speaker 2: and pretty common.
- 2:25:49Speaker 1: A really good preacher is a really good orator.
- 2:25:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:25:52Speaker 1: There's people that are good at it.
- 2:25:53Speaker 2: Larry, Larry, the cable guy, his, his dad was a
- 2:25:56Speaker 2: preacher and a pig farmer. Wow. That adds up to Larry,
- 2:26:00Speaker 2: the cable guy. That makes sense.
- 2:26:04Speaker 1: It's, it's just, it's a real problem when people pretend
- 2:26:07Speaker 1: they have the answers because people want to believe that
- 2:26:09Speaker 1: they do. They really want to believe this person knows
- 2:26:13Speaker 1: when someone tells you, you have to do this or
- 2:26:16Speaker 1: you're going to burn in hell forever. Like, Are you
- 2:26:18Speaker 1: fucking sure? Yeah.
- 2:26:20Speaker 2: Really?
- 2:26:21Speaker 1: If you thought this through? How do you know? Based
- 2:26:24Speaker 1: on what?
- 2:26:27Speaker 2: I have no idea, but I'm glad it's there. I'm
- 2:26:29Speaker 2: glad people are tied to it. I don't care about it.
- 2:26:33Speaker 2: I don't bust on anybody's faith because I don't believe that.
- 2:26:38Speaker 2: It doesn't mean I'm right. I've been wrong about so
- 2:26:43Speaker 2: many fucking things. I might be wrong about all of it.
- 2:26:46Speaker 1: The problem was when someone believes something but then wants
- 2:26:48Speaker 1: to force other people to believe it too. And that's
- 2:26:51Speaker 1: an age-old problem with human beings. That's a real issue.
- 2:26:57Speaker 1: All right, Ron. Let's get the fuck out of here.
- 2:26:58Speaker 1: We've got a show to do tonight. Let's go.
- 2:27:02Speaker 2: Let's go do it, man. I'll be there at 7
- 2:27:04Speaker 2: o'clock or whatever.
- 2:27:05Speaker 3: Yes, sir.
- 2:27:07Speaker 2: And then I'm closing Thursday night. Beautiful. To get ready
- 2:27:12Speaker 2: for these shows in Florida.
- 2:27:13Speaker 4: Nice.
- 2:27:14Speaker 3: Nice.
- 2:27:14Speaker 2: Can you look up my dates in Florida real quick
- 2:27:17Speaker 2: so I can see which ones?
- 2:27:18Speaker 1: He's already got it. Tatersalad.com.
- 2:27:21Speaker 2: Yeah, there we go.

- 2:27:37Speaker 2: That's going to be a lot of fun.
- 2:27:39Speaker 1: Tatersalad.com.
- 2:27:40Speaker 2: Yeah, Tatersalad.
- 2:27:41Speaker 1: How's that Cosmopolitan? I heard the Cosmopolitan face in Vegas
- 2:27:43Speaker 1: is very nice.
- 2:27:44Speaker 2: Fuck, yeah. Great. 2,300-seater. Nice. So 1,000 seats bigger than
- 2:27:48Speaker 2: the one I played at the Mirage.
- 2:27:51Speaker 1: Nice.
- 2:27:52Speaker 2: And I stay in the mansion over at the MGM Grand.
- 2:27:56Speaker 2: That's pretty sweet living over there. Man, look at you,
- 2:27:58Speaker 2: playing golf? Yeah, playing golf.
- 2:28:00Speaker 1: Let's wrap this bitch up.
- 2:28:01Speaker 2: All right, bye.
- 2:28:02Speaker 1: Appreciate you, brother.
- 2:28:03Speaker 2: I love you, man. Thanks for having me on.
- 2:28:04Speaker 1: Anytime.
- 2:28:05Speaker 2: Bye, everybody.
