  Speaker 1: Hey, welcome back.
• 0:26
Speaker 1: It is the just another football monday.
• 0:29
Speaker 1: It's not exactly monday, but we're doing the same premise.
• 0:32
Speaker 1: We're talking about the national championship last night and also the nfl playoffs divisional round over the weekend.
• 0:40
Speaker 1: We're going to react to those games.
• 0:41
Speaker 1: I got my basketball, miami contributor justin and I got jimmy reno, so who knows what will happen?
• 0:53
  Speaker 1: Um, who knows?
• 0:55
Speaker 1: Yeah, ohio state wraps it up.
• 0:56
Speaker 1: It was over like 18 play drive for notre dame, which is was impressive, but you could kind of see it.
• 1:03
Speaker 1: There's like man, that was it.
• 1:04
Speaker 1: I mean it there.
• 1:04
Speaker 1: It's like man, that was it.
• 1:06
Speaker 3: I mean, I was like watching that drive, I was like that was it.
• 1:09
Speaker 1: They're not going to be able to do anything else, and Ohio State was just not going to be stopped.
• 1:12
Speaker 1: A little rally late for the Irish.
• 1:16
Speaker 1: They fought, they did better than Brian Kelly's appearance in the national championship.
• 1:21
Speaker 1: So there's that, right.
• 1:22
Speaker 2: Tough in the national championship.
• 1:23
Speaker 2: So there's that Right.
• 1:23
  Speaker 2: They're a tough team.
• 1:24
Speaker 1: Yeah, they're a tough team, but Ohio State had just an all-star squad this year.
• 1:28
Speaker 2: I mean you had the SEC leading rusher last year on your team as running back, then you have Alabama's best defensive player, then you have a veteran quarterback from Kansas State and then you have an all-world talent in Jeremiah Smith.
• 1:45
Speaker 3: Well, a wide receiver, receiver, yeah, full of nfl receivers behind him too yeah, when was the last time we saw a freshman wide receiver like jeremiah smith?
• 1:54
Speaker 1: calvin johnson, and I I mean he's a the player on those lines maybe adrian peterson yeah, you know, guy, that could just.
• 2:02
Speaker 1: Obviously you're just like oh wow and you know we'll get there as where we want to ask that question.
• 2:09
Speaker 1: Where would Jeremiah Smith be on this year's draft board?
• 2:15
Speaker 3: but if you don't need a quarterback, he's number one, right you?
• 2:18
Speaker 3: Oh wow see that.
• 2:20
Speaker 1: So I mean he's still got two more years in college that that almost seems unfair to the kid.
• 2:27
Speaker 2: And what if you're Minnesota man and you got a bevy of quarterbacks at your disposal and you can just be like you know what?
• 2:33
Speaker 2: What team is desperate enough to give me that first?
• 2:36
Speaker 3: Yeah Well, you got a bevy of wide receivers in Minnesota.
• 2:39
  Speaker 3: I know, I know.
• 2:42
Speaker 1: But I mean, that's the first thing that you thought about when Ohio State won or was going to win, was just man, the game has changed.
• 2:51
Speaker 1: They're the first team to win it when it was a four-team playoff.
• 2:54
Speaker 1: They're the first team to win it on the 12-team playoff Whoop-dee-doo.
• 2:59
Speaker 3: Well, maybe they'll be the first team to win it in a couple years in a 16-team playoff.
• 3:03
Speaker 1: Well, a team that lost to its rival and lost to its Big Ten opponent, the regular season doesn't really mean much.
• 3:11
  Speaker 2: Doesn't mean anything.
• 3:13
Speaker 1: I mean, my reaction to the season was wow, oregon went in there, went undefeated, won all the big games and ended up playing Ohio State again in a neutral site.
• 3:23
Speaker 1: So it doesn't matter, it's just stay healthy.
• 3:29
Speaker 3: Yeah, it still does matter, because if it didn't matter, miami would have been in the playoffs.
• 3:33
  Speaker 1: That's true, that's true.
• 3:36
Speaker 3: You still got to win.
• 3:36
Speaker 3: You still got to win, that is true.
• 3:39
Speaker 1: Well, it seems like.
• 3:40
Speaker 1: Ohio State is going to be in every year.
• 3:42
Speaker 1: Right, I don't see them missing the playoff like ohio state is going to be in every year.
• 3:46
Speaker 1: Right, I don't see them missing the playoff.
• 3:47
Speaker 1: That was like what would they?
• 3:48
Speaker 1: They would say was a bad year up to the playoff, but they were like, hey, we're in in a year they.
• 3:53
Speaker 1: When has it not been that that's not been the case, so I mean well, this is uh, you would say, this is, this is what the 12 team playoffs for, because last year this team wouldn't have been in and this team probably was the best team overall.
• 4:06
Speaker 3: So in that, 12 team playoff put florida state in the playoffs last year oh yeah, I think that's well.
• 4:14
  Speaker 1: They should have.
• 4:14
Speaker 1: Yeah, but that's another story.
• 4:15
Speaker 1: Yeah, you're right, I think it kind of eliminates the question of who was the best team.
• 4:20
Speaker 3: But yeah, it makes it so.
• 4:23
Speaker 1: If you have one heartbreaking loss, your season's not over right and it just seemed I like that it but, but it seems like there just needs more regulation in a good way like let's, let's just lean into this playoff, but let's make it more where everyone's interested, because watching the nfl playoffs this weekend it was just captivating.
• 4:43
Speaker 1: Um, oh, absolutely, but the final four, the final four in the college football playoff, was awesome watching the NFL playoffs this weekend.
• 4:45
Speaker 3: It was just captivating.
• 4:45
Speaker 3: Oh, absolutely, the final four in the college football playoff was awesome yeah.
• 4:52
Speaker 1: It was, but there's still, like, the issue of I don't.
• 4:55
Speaker 1: I think there should be more structure to where a team like Oregon deserve a better.
• 5:01
Speaker 3: Oh yeah, no they need to.
• 5:02
  Speaker 1: That's what I meant.
• 5:03
Speaker 3: Yeah, I meant like that, and you know boise didn't deserve a buy right.
• 5:08
Speaker 3: Um, you know as well as arizona state played in the texas game, they didn't deserve a buy they just need to rank the teams, a power ranking style, or.
• 5:17
  Speaker 1: You know.
• 5:18
Speaker 1: I've always said this they should never keep the bcs formula and just rank it and use that and maybe have a couple rules where head to head outweighs it.
• 5:30
Speaker 3: But other than that, you know what I mean.
• 5:31
Speaker 3: I'm not going back to the bcs that way.
• 5:33
Speaker 1: Well, I'm just saying that way, but it would ever.
• 5:36
Speaker 1: It would take off if you.
• 5:37
Speaker 1: It bcs was right.
• 5:38
Speaker 1: But if you had a stipulation where, say, miami would jump flor State in that instance?
• 5:43
Speaker 1: But it's still kind of.
• 5:44
Speaker 2: To me it seems like that would be a very easy thing to implement instead of just scrapping the whole PCS idea to begin with.
• 5:51
Speaker 2: I mean, it's obviously something that should have been tweaked, so just tweak that.
• 5:54
Speaker 1: I would have liked to have seen Miami in it.
• 5:56
Speaker 1: I've said that before, but you know, I think the best team won.
• 6:01
Speaker 1: The game was kind of not entertaining.
• 6:06
Speaker 3: I went to bed in the third quarter.
• 6:07
Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I hate both teams and the game was over, yeah.
• 6:11
Speaker 1: I mean, I was just mowing the line, just thinking of what it kind of you're like.
• 6:15
Speaker 1: All right, so here's what.
• 6:16
Speaker 1: This is what you're going to have to beat A team like Ohio State who's got 20 million.
• 6:21
Speaker 1: So you're going to have to devote all the money you can get and you better not miss.
• 6:26
  Speaker 2: Right.
• 6:26
Speaker 2: And then let's you know, a good, a good portion of that was spent on player retention.
• 6:31
Speaker 2: That's you know, it's not like that.
• 6:32
Speaker 3: That's what I was going to say.
• 6:34
Speaker 2: Yeah, they didn't go out and spend 20 million in the portal.
• 6:36
Speaker 1: Right, well, they're not going to be able to keep kids longer.
• 6:42
Speaker 3: But that's the amount of it's not like the 06 Yankees, where it's just like all right, let's buy every high-priced free agent, and that will be our starting nine Right, but you can go get just key pieces Right, and they did a really good job.
• 6:56
Speaker 2: I mean Ole Miss, let Judkins walk, kansas State, let Will Howard walk.
• 7:02
Speaker 2: You know there was obviously some discussion before they were officially in the portal so they knew what was up.
• 7:10
Speaker 2: But I mean still it's not like they were going out and throwing $8 million at Will Howard to get him.
• 7:18
Speaker 3: Duke, let Riley Leonard walk.
• 7:20
  Speaker 1: Right, yeah.
• 7:21
Speaker 3: Cam Ward walked from Washington State.
• 7:22
Speaker 3: Carson Beck just left Georgia.
• 7:23
  Speaker 3: I mean I dig it.
• 7:23
Speaker 3: Yeah, you know Cam Ward.
• 7:24
Speaker 3: Cam Ward walked from Washington state.
• 7:25
Speaker 3: Yeah, carson Beck just left Georgia.
• 7:27
Speaker 3: I mean like I dig it.
• 7:28
Speaker 1: Yeah, I do too.
• 7:29
Speaker 1: I think it's way better than the previous one.
• 7:31
Speaker 1: If you, I mean I still want to have like it still needs to be tweaked though you always need to try to get better.
• 7:38
Speaker 1: I definitely like it better.
• 7:39
Speaker 1: I just think there's a few things that could be tweaked.
• 7:42
Speaker 1: You know I don't like the conference.
• 7:45
Speaker 1: What I don't like is how much influence each conference has.
• 7:49
Speaker 1: I think there needs to be a board or a commissioner or something that's kind of over everything.
• 7:56
Speaker 3: You know what we need.
• 7:59
Speaker 1: We need a team that would get their own schedule evaluated, because some teams in the sec are in a good conference but they don't play a good draw, whatnot you know.
• 8:07
Speaker 1: So it needs to be played.
• 8:08
Speaker 1: Nobody right, it needs to be judged on who you play regardless.
• 8:12
Speaker 3: Yeah, indiana indiana and the b10 played nobody exactly exactly.
• 8:17
Speaker 1: So it shouldn't be all like, oh, we'll have the perceptions of they're in the conference and if they go to this record, they're in which it does.
• 8:26
Speaker 3: That's the first thought I had.
• 8:27
Speaker 1: It's just like well Ohio state.
• 8:29
Speaker 1: As long as they go, 10 and two, they're in every year.
• 8:32
Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a, it's the conference bias man.
• 8:34
Speaker 3: I mean like, yeah, I remember a couple of years ago on like one of my dream scenarios would be to abolish all conferences, make everybody independent again, man right yeah I'm actually for that.
• 8:51
Speaker 1: I think I've been for it forever, dude the hurricanes were the most fun back in the day when they were independent I think it should be more like the nfl model and just have divisions and have every kind of teams for himself you know you're not gonna head-to-head matters and then like record against common, like have those be the tiebreakers, like actual everybody independent.
• 9:13
  Speaker 3: Make it a free-for-all.
• 9:15
Speaker 1: You want to make the playoff you schedule a good, the more you can I mean, nothing's ever going to be fair, but obviously the more you can try to make it, where it you know the worst teams go to the top of the draft.
• 9:26
Speaker 1: You know like you have that other, because right now it's just reload, reload, reload.
• 9:32
Speaker 1: There's never going to be that.
• 9:34
Speaker 1: So how do you regulate that, the just reload, reload, reload?
• 9:39
Speaker 1: And how do you get teams to?
• 9:40
Speaker 1: You know, even it out.
• 9:43
Speaker 3: I think NIL and the portal go a long way to doing that dude.
• 9:46
Speaker 3: Smu was in the playoff this year with all the transfer kids from Miami.
• 9:50
  Speaker 3: I mean.
• 9:50
Speaker 3: I think that's about as close as we can get in college.
• 9:53
  Speaker 1: Right, right, right.
• 9:54
Speaker 1: Hopefully they'll be able to agree to be able to put something on it, because it's not, it could get absurd anywho I think you get one, one no questions asked transfer and then a grad transfer so you could transfer twice.
• 10:10
Speaker 3: You could still play at three schools in five years, right, but you only like the dylan gabriel crap where you're transferring every year and just chasing shit like I don't like that yeah, get rid of that kind of shit and yeah, they're not going to be able to, though, like you can't go backwards on the player thing like that, so you're going to.
• 10:29
Speaker 1: I was thinking more of lines like it's going to have to be salary cap or something like that.
• 10:36
  Speaker 1: I don't know.
• 10:37
  Speaker 3: But anywho.
• 10:38
Speaker 1: I want to go to.
• 10:39
Speaker 1: I got your clip man, we might get there later.
• 10:46
  Speaker 1: That's Portal Combat.
• 10:50
Speaker 3: Hey, we can talk Carson Beck.
• 10:52
Speaker 1: No, no, no Table, get the tables.
• 10:57
Speaker 3: Get the tables man what?
• 10:58
Speaker 1: did I tell you, yeah, that was a hell of a game.
• 11:01
Speaker 1: That was the game of the week.
• 11:03
Speaker 1: We'll start there first.
• 11:04
Speaker 1: The bills win by two, mark andrews with a drop in the end zone man I mean bills would have had a chance to kick a field goal after that if they were drove down, but still right, but I mean his fumble was bad enough, so he was already the mar in the first half to bring up that the one, the fumble, like that, even the pick, you got to give credit, you threw it.
• 11:28
Speaker 1: The defense made a play, but the fumble you just dropped it yes worst fumbles I've seen.
• 11:33
  Speaker 1: It was awkward.
• 11:34
Speaker 1: It was like you didn't really even get hit.
• 11:36
Speaker 1: You just were like you just dropped the ball.
• 11:37
Speaker 1: That was the difference.
• 11:40
Speaker 3: Another play that has not been getting nearly the coverage that Lamar Jackson screwed up on Early in the game.
• 11:47
Speaker 3: He's got Derrick Henry wide-ass open.
• 11:50
Speaker 3: Oh yeah yeah, running down the sideline and he throws it as his shin bones, and it's Derrick Henry.
• 11:57
Speaker 3: I mean, that's not a receiving running back, dude.
• 11:59
Speaker 3: You put that on the numbers, you take that to the house, dude.
• 12:02
Speaker 3: That's the difference in the game.
• 12:04
Speaker 1: This is one of those games that eats at you.
• 12:07
Speaker 2: You just throw it up, man, he's 6'5".
• 12:11
Speaker 1: With a crazy wingspan.
• 12:12
Speaker 1: This one's on two guys pretty much.
• 12:18
Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean you got to really honestly, you, you gotta put it on, andrews.
• 12:20
Speaker 3: I mean the interception well but I love right there I think he's taking responsibility.
• 12:28
Speaker 1: I love how he does that, I know.
• 12:29
Speaker 1: I love how much he loves to win.
• 12:32
Speaker 1: I was rooting for him this year to get it done.
• 12:35
Speaker 1: Uh, but just two minutes.
• 12:37
Speaker 1: You can't make those mistakes in, not when Josh.
• 12:41
  Speaker 3: Allen plays perfect.
• 12:43
Speaker 1: Right, well, yeah, in a game that means so much, it's going to come down just to the little things and possessions and empty wins.
• 12:50
Speaker 3: And on the road against Josh Allen you can't make the three critical mistakes he made, which?
• 12:55
Speaker 1: was the fumble, the interception and the missed Derrick Henry pass.
• 12:58
Speaker 1: If he doesn't make the fumble, I think they win the game yeah.
• 13:04
Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, like the other one, that's still a miss, but I think that's the one that's going to eat at him.
• 13:10
Speaker 1: I'm just saying based on his post game.
• 13:12
Speaker 1: It's just like come on, like I've missed throws before, that's what he did on those two.
• 13:17
Speaker 1: He just missed derrick henry and he's missed.
• 13:19
Speaker 1: He had the bad read but, um, the one that he's probably going to kick himself most on is just dropping the ball like that.
• 13:30
Speaker 3: Well, yeah, you know what it almost reminds me of.
• 13:32
Speaker 3: There was a random ass college game years back, dude.
• 13:36
Speaker 3: It was uh, lsu against arkansas.
• 13:39
Speaker 3: Arkansas had won like three games.
• 13:41
Speaker 3: Lsu was like 10-1.
• 13:43
Speaker 3: Arkansas was just trying to run the ball out, yes, where he dropped back and just kind of lost his balance, put the ball on the ground and fell down and dropped it.
• 13:51
Speaker 2: Yeah, that was exactly what I thought when I saw that play.
• 13:55
Speaker 2: It had huge implications on Florida State that year.
• 13:57
Speaker 3: Yeah, that ended up affecting the national championship.
• 14:00
Speaker 1: Well so the Bills win, they get their, they get their.
• 14:07
  Speaker 1: Matchup.
• 14:08
Speaker 1: The it's going to be a hell of a matchup because the chiefs were able to win.
• 14:14
Speaker 1: The line went up to nine and a half.
• 14:16
Speaker 1: You know the drama of that game was only betting purposes yeah, depending on when you bet yeah, yeah, because yeah, when we did the show when we picked, it was 8.5.
• 14:25
Speaker 1: So just for that.
• 14:27
Speaker 1: But it was 9.5 at kickoff and the Chiefs ran a safety in at the end.
• 14:36
Speaker 2: Yeah, that was amazing.
• 14:38
Speaker 1: The defense they have.
• 14:39
Speaker 1: Yeah, their defense is maybe even better.
• 14:44
Speaker 2: Um, that's the strength of their team and when you have a guy like this healthy andy.
• 14:50
Speaker 1: Yeah, when chris jones is healthy and when you have a guy like andy reed and pat mahomes and his ability to run, too, it you're.
• 14:57
Speaker 3: I just don't I'm not betting against him.
• 15:01
Speaker 2: His ability to fake roughing the passer penalty is off the charts it is but you have the matchup with the Kansas City Streets and the NFC, the Rams.
• 15:13
Speaker 1: I almost predicted it.
• 15:15
Speaker 1: I had that one, with them winning 28-27.
• 15:17
Speaker 1: It was actually 28-22.
• 15:21
  Speaker 1: The final.
• 15:22
Speaker 1: The Rams had the ball at the end.
• 15:24
Speaker 1: They got down in the red zone, but they weren't able to close it out.
• 15:28
Speaker 2: Too many missed chances.
• 15:29
Speaker 1: Too many missed chances again for the.
• 15:31
  Speaker 3: Rams.
• 15:31
Speaker 3: Yeah, stafford, kind of shit the bed on that last time, yeah.
• 15:33
Speaker 1: I think they had that game.
• 15:35
Speaker 1: The defense played well enough.
• 15:37
Speaker 1: They gave up the big runs to Saquon You're going to do that.
• 15:43
Speaker 1: They bottled them up kind of, though, when they needed to, and they gave the offense chances.
• 15:46
Speaker 1: They just weren't able to convert and they missed the opportunity.
• 15:50
Speaker 1: But that game was they held?
• 15:51
Speaker 3: jalen hurts to 120 yards passing right right you know I mean that's got to be a recipe to win right nine times out of ten I think the snow or the weather affected the game.
• 16:02
Speaker 1: I think that was a home field advantage for the eagles oh, absolutely dude.
• 16:08
Speaker 3: Both those teams were fumbling the ball like crazy.
• 16:10
Speaker 3: That game man, nobody could hang on to the ball that was the fumbles by that one by stafford.
• 16:16
Speaker 2: That was huge and but they just like the one by karen williams was was equally as huge.
• 16:21
Speaker 1: Yeah, but that was a good play of it, yeah I know, man, but it it was the game was there to be had.
• 16:27
Speaker 1: I thought they played well enough, but credit to the eagles, credit to staquan, who had 205 yards rushing.
• 16:33
Speaker 1: Um, they're gonna host which which is they're gonna hosters.
• 16:38
Speaker 1: The upset of the weekend Saturday night happened in the main train was derailed by the rookie, jaden Daniels, who looks just unflappable.
• 16:51
  Speaker 1: I don't think he's looked.
• 16:53
Speaker 1: He hasn't been stopped.
• 16:56
Speaker 1: Since what Florida State's defense?
• 16:58
Speaker 2: A couple games during midseason.
• 17:00
Speaker 2: Maybe he looks rough, but still he looks great yeah and just the cool and calm collectiveness.
• 17:05
Speaker 1: Uh, jared goff, a lot of picks the fumbles, five turnovers for the lion, zero for the commanders ben johnson, their oc, now the bears head coach, yep poor guy it was.
• 17:17
Speaker 3: It was fun watching him be successful.
• 17:19
Speaker 1: I did not want to see it.
• 17:20
Speaker 3: Yeah, he won't be anymore.
• 17:24
  Speaker 1: I like the Commander's team.
• 17:25
Speaker 1: I don't like the uniforms, but they're a fun team to watch.
• 17:29
Speaker 1: They're going into Philly.
• 17:31
Speaker 1: How do you see this game?
• 17:36
Speaker 3: About, like the game was just a couple weeks ago when they played dude On that Sunday afternoon about three or four weeks ago.
• 17:41
Speaker 3: It was a fantastic game right, I think it's going to be another fun one.
• 17:45
Speaker 3: They're familiar with each other.
• 17:47
  Speaker 1: I mean.
• 17:47
Speaker 3: I think the difference is going to be Saquon Barkley again man that guy's a freak.
• 17:50
Speaker 1: Right, so two in the AFC is the matchup.
• 17:55
Speaker 1: You know the Bills.
• 17:59
Speaker 1: We're going to do our picks later, but just looking forward to that game, it's going to be a war.
• 18:06
Speaker 3: Oh, it's going to be so much fun.
• 18:07
Speaker 3: That was another one that we got to rematch from earlier in the season, which was another great game.
• 18:16
  Speaker 1: I just.
• 18:17
Speaker 1: I mean, I did pick the Chiefs to go to the Super Bowl and avenge the Rams.
• 18:19
Speaker 1: So that's why I'm upset about the rams loss, but, um, because I think the rams, that rams commanders game would have been fun and yeah, I really don't want to see another nfc, if it's like the way that that game was, although I hope it's gonna be a good game for daniels, yeah and we'll see how that goes.
• 18:38
Speaker 1: Uh, and then the butt'll pick them.
• 18:41
Speaker 1: I think right now the line is two Chiefs are minus two in the AFC, then the Eagles are minus five and a half in the NFC.
• 18:50
Speaker 3: That's a pretty big point spread in that Eagles game man.
• 18:53
  Speaker 1: I know.
• 18:54
Speaker 3: Dude, I'd jump all over that early week betting Dude, I would jump all over that with the Cubs.
• 18:58
Speaker 1: Just a preview what's to come.
• 18:59
Speaker 1: I would jump all over that with the comms.
• 19:00
Speaker 1: Ah, just a preview what's to come.
• 19:04
Speaker 3: I would be breaking out the folding table.
• 19:06
  Speaker 3: What's the?
• 19:06
Speaker 1: Super Bowl you want to see with these four teams?
• 19:08
  Speaker 1: Want to see?
• 19:10
Speaker 1: Yeah, just not betting or anything like that.
• 19:13
Speaker 1: Just entertainment purposes only.
• 19:16
Speaker 1: Give me the commies and the bills.
• 19:17
Speaker 3: Yeah, same A rematch.
• 19:18
  Speaker 3: I like it.
• 19:18
Speaker 3: Same Commies and the bills.
• 19:19
Speaker 1: Yeah, same A rematch.
• 19:20
  Speaker 1: I like it.
• 19:21
Speaker 1: Same Commies and the bills would be a really fun game.
• 19:27
Speaker 3: Both defenses are questionable.
• 19:29
Speaker 3: Both teams have big playability.
• 19:31
Speaker 3: Dude, you know fucking awesome quarterbacks.
• 19:34
Speaker 3: I think that would be the funnest game.
• 19:36
Speaker 3: The boringest game would be the exact inverse of that.
• 19:39
Speaker 1: The Eagles and the Chiefs would almost be a defensive struggle, yeah, yeah.
• 19:43
Speaker 1: And that would be, that would be a war of just defense, and, oh man, I don't want to see that.
• 19:50
Speaker 2: A war of officiating man.
• 19:51
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 19:51
  Speaker 2: Nothing but flags.
• 19:52
Speaker 2: That's what that game would be Philly and KC I'd rather see KC than Philly.
• 19:58
Speaker 1: Right now, Philly is actually the favorite to win it.
• 20:02
  Speaker 2: Oh yeah.
• 20:09
Speaker 3: KC is two, and then Buffalo and Washington.
• 20:12
  Speaker 3: Well the odds.
• 20:16
Speaker 3: Majors in Vegas obviously don't know how well the Buffalo Bills circle the wagon.
• 20:18
Speaker 2: My friend, Nobody circles the wagons like the Buffalo Bills nobody.
• 20:23
Speaker 1: I think the winner of the AFC wins it yeah yeah.
• 20:29
Speaker 3: I would like to say so too, but Saquon Barkley, I think, is yeah, he is kind of an X factor oh, he's definitely kind of an X factor.
• 20:39
Speaker 1: He might be showing who the real MVP is.
• 20:42
Speaker 1: He's my right of an X-Factor.
• 20:42
Speaker 2: He might be showing who the real MVP is.
• 20:42
Speaker 2: He's my rightful MVP.
• 20:43
Speaker 2: He's the real MVP.
• 20:45
Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it is ridiculous man.
• 20:48
Speaker 1: I mean, look, it takes all the pressure off.
• 20:50
Speaker 1: I mean because you have no passing.
• 20:52
Speaker 1: Really you didn't need it.
• 20:54
Speaker 3: You don't need it, you didn't need it.
• 20:55
Speaker 3: When you're back going for 2,500 yards in a season, man, I mean you don't need it.
• 20:59
Speaker 1: Yeah, and you got a quarterback that can run.
• 21:01
Speaker 1: You saw the opening run by Jalen.
• 21:03
  Speaker 1: That was almost.
• 21:05
Speaker 1: That was enough too.
• 21:09
Speaker 3: I mean it's like watching Nebraska in the 90s with Tommy Frazier and Lawrence Phillips.
• 21:11
Speaker 1: Yeah, it really is.
• 21:12
  Speaker 1: It really is.
• 21:12
Speaker 1: That's the key to the game.
• 21:15
Speaker 3: Yeah, the defense, the freaking defense that the Eagles have.
• 21:19
Speaker 3: That's uh that the eagles have.
• 21:22
Speaker 1: That's something that is way underrated when we're talking about.
• 21:24
Speaker 1: I think this is gonna be a good thing for the commanders, though, because they're familiar with it.
• 21:27
Speaker 3: Yeah so that's why I think it's gonna be.
• 21:30
Speaker 3: That's why I think that spread is off right because both these teams are familiar with each other.
• 21:33
Speaker 3: They played close games during the season.
• 21:36
Speaker 3: I mean, I I'm shocked that the line is that high.
• 21:40
Speaker 1: Yep, maybe I need to jump on that Jump on it.
• 21:46
Speaker 2: Well, uh Then double down.
• 21:47
Speaker 3: What'd you do Then?
• 21:49
Speaker 3: You double down later in the week.
• 21:50
Speaker 1: Commanders Bills, I think that would be my pick as well.
• 21:54
Speaker 1: The part of me wants to see the Chiefs just like.
• 21:57
Speaker 1: For the drama of it, nobody's done the three-peat.
• 22:01
Speaker 1: I'm still a Dolphins fan and it's funny that the Bills have never won to me and I kind of enjoy that.
• 22:09
Speaker 1: I don't want to see that end, but to have them lose in the Super Bowl would be just as fun.
• 22:17
Speaker 2: Well, you know, if they lose to the Eagles, they will have completed the entire NFC East.
• 22:20
Speaker 2: Yeah, that would be true.
• 22:20
Speaker 2: Well, you know, if they lose to the Eagles, they will have completed the entire NFC East.
• 22:23
Speaker 1: Yeah, that would be true.
• 22:24
Speaker 1: So there you go.
• 22:25
Speaker 1: They would have lost the entire NFC East in the Super Bowl.
• 22:28
  Speaker 3: Right, that's crazy.
• 22:33
Speaker 3: Yeah, I hadn't even thought about that.
• 22:36
  Speaker 3: I mean, if I didn't?
• 22:39
Speaker 2: hate the Eagles coach so much I'd kind of be rooting for that to happen.
• 22:42
Speaker 2: I didn't hate the Eagles coach so much.
• 22:43
Speaker 1: I'd kind of be rooting for that to happen.
• 22:45
Speaker 1: I don't want to see the Eagles in most of all Right, I don't want to see the team.
• 22:52
Speaker 3: I don't want the Super Bowl game to come down to the referees calling a freaking wet fart as a ruff of the passer penalty.
• 23:02
Speaker 1: Yeah, that happens in close games.
• 23:04
Speaker 1: Yeah, that one was the first time they played the Eagles.
• 23:09
Speaker 1: I just don't want to see another regurgitated Super Bowl.
• 23:11
Speaker 1: It would be the same as last year Chiefs versus the Niners, now the Chiefs versus the Eagles.
• 23:16
Speaker 1: It's like are you kidding me?
• 23:18
Speaker 3: And that's definitely what we're going to get, I think.
• 23:20
Speaker 3: The Chiefs in the playoffs are 7-0.
• 23:23
Speaker 3: When this one particular referee reps their games in the playoffs dude, All right.
• 23:30
Speaker 1: Well, we'll get the reps for the picks later.
• 23:33
Speaker 1: All right, let's go back to college.
• 23:35
Speaker 1: Hold on one second, got to hit it Speaking of your boy earlier.
• 23:42
Speaker 1: Where national championships are, one is in the portal combat, it seems.
• 24:00
  Speaker 1: Ships are.
• 24:04
Speaker 1: One is in the portal combat, it seems, looking at the key additions ohio state one.
• 24:06
Speaker 1: Look at last year where miami was before they landed cam ward, and look at florida state, where they were before they landed dj.
• 24:13
Speaker 1: So yeah, I mean, this is a, it can go.
• 24:17
Speaker 1: It can go either way, right.
• 24:21
Speaker 1: And Miami has picked up Georgia's quarterback, carson Beck, coming off the elbow surgery.
• 24:29
Speaker 1: First thoughts of that, justin.
• 24:33
Speaker 3: I really like it, not because I think Carson Beck is some awesome quarterback, but Carson Beck is going to be perfect for what Miami needs because we got the freshman kid, luke Nickel, the National Player of the Year, coming in at quarterback.
• 24:50
Speaker 3: We're starting off the season Notre Dame and Florida in back-to-back games and I don't want to drop back-to-back games.
• 24:57
Speaker 3: I don't want to drop a true freshman into those games.
• 25:02
Speaker 1: Yeah that's a great point and it's a good perfect bridge.
• 25:04
Speaker 3: You put an experienced guy like Carson Beck.
• 25:05
Speaker 3: I mean he's like a nice bridge quarterback, he can handle the atmosphere to start the season.
• 25:12
Speaker 3: If he doesn't play well, then we bring in the freshman.
• 25:14
Speaker 3: If he does, and the freshman gets a year on the bench learning out, learning the ropes, then he takes over next year.
• 25:19
Speaker 3: I really like him.
• 25:21
Speaker 1: I think it's a good choice by him too.
• 25:22
Speaker 1: I mean, this is almost like a second chance.
• 25:26
Speaker 1: If you come out and have a good year for Miami.
• 25:29
Speaker 1: You can be first round again.
• 25:31
Speaker 3: He saw what Cam Ward did.
• 25:33
Speaker 3: Cam Ward went from a fourth round projection to potentially number one pick.
• 25:38
Speaker 1: Well, this kid was all like before the season almost played himself out of it Because before the season people were talking about Carson Beck as possibly a number one pick.
• 25:47
Speaker 1: I heard it multiple times.
• 25:48
Speaker 3: I think I was one of the people on this podcast.
• 25:50
Speaker 1: So I mean we'll see if he can reverse that trend.
• 25:54
Speaker 2: I think that was because of two things.
• 25:57
Speaker 1: Number one you didn't have brock bowers anymore well, yeah, that's gonna be an adjustment, it is number two, dude uga's receiving core was worse than florida states.
• 26:06
Speaker 2: It drops on the season.
• 26:08
  Speaker 2: Think of that.
• 26:09
  Speaker 2: That's amazing.
• 26:10
  Speaker 2: Wow.
• 26:11
Speaker 3: So they had wow, that's really good yeah it.
• 26:14
Speaker 2: That's gonna to hurt anybody's performance or what it looks like.
• 26:19
  Speaker 1: But the.
• 26:19
  Speaker 2: Tommy John surgery.
• 26:20
Speaker 1: I mean, you know, Florida State in the transfer portal.
• 26:24
Speaker 1: Jimmy, it looks like you got what UCF on offense and Nebraska on D.
• 26:29
Speaker 2: There you go bro, Some solid mid man, Six-man dream.
• 26:31
  Speaker 2: That's what we're doing.
• 26:32
  Speaker 2: I saw.
• 26:33
  Speaker 1: Tony White.
• 26:33
Speaker 1: He seems like a funny guy.
• 26:37
  Speaker 2: Funny guy man.
• 26:38
Speaker 2: Just get us to that mayonnaise and mustard bowl, We'll be fine.
• 26:42
Speaker 1: I mean, when you have a season like that, I like what I saw in the transfer portal so far.
• 26:50
Speaker 1: A quarterback is more of the floor is a lot higher.
• 26:57
Speaker 1: He can, can run, yeah, he can run, and that's what you need when you're rebuilding you do something instead of nothing.
• 27:02
Speaker 2: That's technically an improvement.
• 27:04
Speaker 1: Right, he's a guy that's familiar with, uh, your coordinator too.
• 27:08
Speaker 3: Um yeah, that's what I was going to say was that the uh, the transfer quarterbacks are, are better for the malzahn system right because malzahn is such a run heavy with the quarterback system right, I uh, I think it's better.
• 27:23
Speaker 1: Uh, just overall, I think it was a good something had to be done.
• 27:26
Speaker 1: It's crazy that maybe that was what you know.
• 27:29
Speaker 1: You look at some of the transfers that were brought in to make that 2023 team so good.
• 27:34
Speaker 1: It was kind of just like the head coach did it and kind of just to cover up what was lacking a lot of in the certain positions too.
• 27:42
Speaker 1: Like the o-line, it was terrible and it just didn't didn't get any better, so that that was something that had to change.
• 27:51
Speaker 1: I like the changes they made there.
• 27:52
Speaker 1: They get, they get, he's going, he's going to the hot seat, so he's going to be in there with people that are he knows and he knows what to expect from uh yeah because him and malzahn go way back, don't they oh?
• 28:03
Speaker 1: yeah, they were actually him in hand.
• 28:05
Speaker 1: The, the offensive line coach were all the first.
• 28:08
Speaker 1: That was his first job.
• 28:10
Speaker 1: They are set some records at tulsa the old golden hurricane yeah they uh that had two years in a row where they were like set offensive records, so fsu needed to do something.
• 28:21
Speaker 2: On offense, I've never seen a worst unit well, there's been few, as as bad man like never my defensive unit was pretty awful yeah, it was, but it wasn't.
• 28:32
Speaker 1: It wasn't like literally at the dead last.
• 28:36
Speaker 1: If it wasn't for Kent State, what was it?
• 28:38
  Speaker 1: Is that right?
• 28:39
  Speaker 3: Yeah, no.
• 28:40
Speaker 3: No, that is true, we were like bottom third probably.
• 28:43
Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, so transfer portal sets it up again.
• 28:47
Speaker 1: We'll get into that.
• 28:50
Speaker 1: What else you got over there, what you got on any transfers, jimmy?
• 28:55
Speaker 3: Well, other than the Carson Beckck, I know we brought in a uh, a real high level corner.
• 29:01
Speaker 3: I can't remember where he came from, but we brought in a uh, it's supposed to be a really, really good corner oh, the guy from wisconsin yeah, which obviously we need yeah, yeah you know about that guy, jimmy right right the um xavier lucas kid, yeah, the whole situation where he he's essentially just told the ncaa and wisconsin like man, screw you guys.
• 29:22
Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm going to miami.
• 29:23
Speaker 2: I don't give a shit what you're doing like and it's, there's nothing they can do to stop right, so it's.
• 29:30
Speaker 1: But yeah, he, he's definitely a big pickup what's to stop jeremiah smith from putting his name in the portal, just to get the fact that he wants?
• 29:38
Speaker 3: to win, back to back, right.
• 29:38
Speaker 3: Well, I'm just saying just to, what's to stop Jeremiah Smith from putting his name in the portal?
• 29:41
Speaker 1: Just to get the fact that he wants to win back-to-back Right.
• 29:42
Speaker 1: I'm just saying just to get the most money.
• 29:43
Speaker 2: I bet they're just going to lock him up Money that he's getting.
• 29:45
Speaker 2: He's going to get anything he asks for from Ohio.
• 29:48
Speaker 2: State he's already up there and established and they are.
• 29:51
Speaker 2: They're going to go back, make another run next year and he's going to be the focal point of that yeah.
• 29:58
Speaker 2: Now my question is when does he just petition the NFL to say you know what?
• 30:05
  Speaker 2: I'm ready now.
• 30:06
Speaker 1: Well, it hasn't worked in the past.
• 30:07
Speaker 1: You saw what Jamar Chase had to do.
• 30:09
Speaker 1: He just sat out a year.
• 30:11
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 30:12
Speaker 1: I mean, if they go back and he wins it again, he'll probably do the same.
• 30:17
Speaker 2: He's better off doing that, man Wasn't any rust on Jamar Chase?
• 30:22
Speaker 3: Jamar Chase and also defensive end for Miami, greg Rousseau yeah, Do the same thing.
• 30:27
Speaker 1: That's right, and now Rousseau's kicking ass up in Buffalo.
• 30:30
Speaker 1: I think you need to maybe make it where it's just two years, or even one.
• 30:36
Speaker 2: I think two years is a good idea.
• 30:37
Speaker 1: Yeah, I think two years, and and they somebody like a play, and only certain players, like a Derwin James or the pass rusher.
• 30:45
Speaker 2: Miami had even but well, guys that are physically ready, physically ready to go to the NFL.
• 30:51
  Speaker 3: That's it.
• 30:52
  Speaker 3: That's all that.
• 30:53
Speaker 1: That's all that you should require.
• 30:54
Speaker 1: And then if you have one year that still gets you seen and you can, if your grade is first round, then you should go.
• 31:05
Speaker 1: You know, just set it up like that, where you have, like they do that in college basketball man, you can't do a one and done all right.
• 31:14
Speaker 1: Well, right now it's three.
• 31:15
Speaker 3: I think moving it to two would be something they should look into yeah, yeah, no, I like the idea of moving it to two A skill like, if you're a player like Smith, he's going to come in, he doesn't.
• 31:25
Speaker 1: you don't need to see any more Like he could argue.
• 31:30
Speaker 1: One, but I think two is a good start.
• 31:32
Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean like I saw it, uh, like jamar chase is a great comparison because I saw him uh sophomore season and I'm like this is like the best I was like this is the best receiver I've ever seen right, and I mean don't like the running back position.
• 31:48
Speaker 1: Already you can go back to a guy like adrian peterson, maybe, but it has to be it being it gives you like hey, this guy's been seen, he's already been evaluated, he's projected to be at this high of a pick.
• 32:02
Speaker 1: So I think what, who, what's holding it back here some?
• 32:06
Speaker 1: yeah, like he's basically done growing, it's not like he's going to grow another three inches right, 21 years old because the the league, I mean it's not going to do, it's not going to be like it was in basketball, because it'll still just be a certain amount of players.
• 32:19
Speaker 1: It's only a select few in this regard.
• 32:24
Speaker 2: Yeah, with football you might go whole classes without having any guys that can do it, but Jeremiah Smith is clearly.
• 32:33
Speaker 2: I mean, he'd be the first round, first pick this year.
• 32:38
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 32:39
  Speaker 2: Team doesn't need a quarterback?
• 32:40
  Speaker 1: You think so?
• 32:41
Speaker 2: I think the quarterbacks would go.
• 32:43
Speaker 1: You think he would go over Travis Hunter?
• 32:45
  Speaker 1: Oh, absolutely Really.
• 32:48
Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I mean, unless you're the Chicago Bears GM who took Caleb Williams over all these other awesome quarterbacks.
• 32:55
Speaker 2: Right, you could get a very rare, but I think it'd be close to a consensus that you would take him.
• 33:01
  Speaker 1: Wow.
• 33:01
Speaker 1: So you think Tennessee's taking him number one, if he was available.
• 33:06
Speaker 3: Tennessee needs a quarterback too bad.
• 33:08
Speaker 2: I think it'd still be position specific man.
• 33:12
Speaker 1: So Shador is going to be a number one pick.
• 33:14
  Speaker 3: Dude.
• 33:15
Speaker 3: Everything I'm hearing is it's going to be Cam.
• 33:18
Speaker 2: Yeah, I think they're going to end up liking Cam in the long run.
• 33:22
Speaker 2: I mean once they start digging into the personal habits and the work ethic and the traits I mean.
• 33:29
Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that's a nice pick for Tennessee.
• 33:32
Speaker 2: It's a nice pick for Cam yeah To avoid having to go to Cleveland.
• 33:36
Speaker 1: Right, and then thereador goes to Cleveland.
• 33:40
  Speaker 2: Right.
• 33:45
Speaker 3: And Deion's like I'm not having my son play in Cleveland, that's where the real fun starts.
• 33:48
Speaker 3: We've got an Eli Manning John Elway situation happening in Cleveland with Shador.
• 33:52
Speaker 3: Oh God, the storylines man.
• 33:56
Speaker 3: I mean, it's like a telenovela, we had to go.
• 34:01
Speaker 1: We got to get on out of here, man, but we got a lot to look forward to.
• 34:04
Speaker 1: We got games to pick later in the week.
• 34:05
Speaker 1: We're going to go with the line on Thursday probably, but right now, your app or your bookie, or set your own damn line, you know A little teaser.
• 34:25
Speaker 3: Yeah, fsu Hoops hits the West Coast.
• 34:30
Speaker 3: Oh yeah, what's that?
• 34:31
Speaker 1: Yeah, they got a game Wednesday night playing the Cal Golden Bears, 9 o'clock Eastern.
• 34:38
Speaker 3: Classic ACC matchup yeah.
• 34:40
Speaker 1: Yeah, they take their West Atlantic trip.
• 34:49
Speaker 3: Miami lost by like 45 to SMU the other day.
• 34:52
  Speaker 1: SMU looks good.
• 34:55
Speaker 3: They might be that number two team I think our group as a podcast would be that number two team for the ACC.
• 35:00
Speaker 3: I think our group as a podcast would beat the Miami basketball team by 35 right now.
• 35:03
Speaker 1: I think that ACC at the top is not bad.
• 35:06
Speaker 1: I think again, it's getting overlooked.
• 35:12
Speaker 1: It's not what it once was, but it's still not terrible.
• 35:17
