- 1:11Speaker 2: by P and C Bank, a lot of people think
- 1:13Speaker 2: podcasts about work are boring, and sure, they definitely can be,
- 1:17Speaker 2: but understanding a professional's routine shows us how they achieve
- 1:21Speaker 2: their success little by little, day after day. It's like
- 1:25Speaker 2: banking with P and C Bank. It might seem boring
- 1:28Speaker 2: to save, plan and make calculated decisions with your bank,
- 1:31Speaker 2: but keeping your money boring is what helps you live
- 1:34Speaker 2: or more happily fulfilled life. P and C Bank Brilliantly
- 1:38Speaker 2: Boring since eighteen sixty five. Brilliantly Boring since eighteen sixty
- 1:42Speaker 2: five is a service mark of the PNC Financial Service Group, Inc.
- 1:46Speaker 2: P and C Bank National Association Member FDIIC.
- 1:51Speaker 3: I was actually watching CNBC last week and they was
- 1:54Speaker 3: saying how Google's in trouble and how AI essentially is
- 1:59Speaker 3: a search engine, whether whatever AI platform you're using, even me,
- 2:04Speaker 3: like I use chat gbt for search engine purposes more
- 2:08Speaker 3: Google at the point in time, like I want to say, like, okay,
- 2:10Speaker 3: well you know when was the first elephant spotted by man? Right,
- 2:17Speaker 3: I'll go to chat gbt, which essentially I'm using it
- 2:20Speaker 3: for the same capacity that.
- 2:21Speaker 4: You would use a Google search engine for.
- 2:24Speaker 3: But I'm just so accustomed to using chat GBT that
- 2:27Speaker 3: I'll use Chat GBT more than I'll use Google. So
- 2:32Speaker 3: she was just saying that she thought that Google was
- 2:35Speaker 3: losing the AI race and that you know, they're losing
- 2:40Speaker 3: their dominance as far as their search engine is, more
- 2:44Speaker 3: competition and a variety of other factors. So now they're
- 2:48Speaker 3: laying off people.
- 2:49Speaker 4: Yeah, that's never good they do.
- 2:51Speaker 1: But they did something very intelligent.
- 2:54Speaker 3: And I was gonna say they also, uh they got
- 2:57Speaker 3: caught and then uh, Israel God's situation, they laid off
- 3:02Speaker 3: I think twenty one people for that twenty eight people
- 3:06Speaker 3: that chose to protest, they deal with Israel.
- 3:09Speaker 4: So they've been having some issues. So what were you saying?
- 3:12Speaker 1: So their roleouts haven't been great.
- 3:17Speaker 2: From and we spoke about it, from Bar to even
- 3:19Speaker 2: now with Gemini hasn't been great. But in this space
- 3:23Speaker 2: for AI and the race for AI, they've made a
- 3:25Speaker 2: strategic partnership and probably went under like people that probably
- 3:30Speaker 2: can't pay attention to it. But Meta has now partnered
- 3:32Speaker 2: with them to be included in their searches. And so
- 3:35Speaker 2: now Meta, when you're talking about how many users under
- 3:38Speaker 2: that platform three point four billion. Yeah, right onside of
- 3:42Speaker 2: the Meta platforms now.
- 3:43Speaker 1: The Google search Engine will.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Be a part of that platform, and so that's a
- 3:47Speaker 2: very strategic partnership. So I mean you can innovate, they've
- 3:50Speaker 2: they've botched it on their own, and so making a
- 3:52Speaker 2: strategic partnership like that is important. But yeah, the layoffs,
- 3:57Speaker 2: this has been continuous. We've seen this since twenty twenty three.
- 4:00Speaker 2: We've seen it multiple of tech companies. And it's really simple.
- 4:04Speaker 2: They can they put out a statement and I can
- 4:06Speaker 2: read this statement, but the gist of it is this, Look,
- 4:10Speaker 2: we've got to cut costs because we have to win
- 4:13Speaker 2: this race in AI and that's where our money, our
- 4:16Speaker 2: capital expensions have to go. That's the focus of this
- 4:19Speaker 2: company going forward. Anything that is not a part of
- 4:22Speaker 2: that is going to be cut to the wayside. And
- 4:25Speaker 2: so they cut people from their finance department, they cut
- 4:28Speaker 2: some people from the search department. All these people are
- 4:30Speaker 2: getting laid off because they're looking at the bottom line
- 4:33Speaker 2: and saying, if we can be more efficient with less,
- 4:36Speaker 2: because we know the type of money that we have
- 4:38Speaker 2: to allocate to this race to even be in it,
- 4:41Speaker 2: then we got to do it. And so unfortunately people
- 4:43Speaker 2: lose jobs because of that. They're looking at the macro
- 4:47Speaker 2: bit that we have to win this race. We have
- 4:49Speaker 2: to be one or two in it, and that's the
- 4:52Speaker 2: that's the focus, and they win it. Though I don't
- 4:57Speaker 2: think that they have the great they have some of
- 4:59Speaker 2: the brightest minds. When when we look at the infrastructure
- 5:02Speaker 2: of all these AI companies, they somehow tied back to
- 5:06Speaker 2: Google and they at deep at some point in their origin.
- 5:12Speaker 2: They just haven't had the marketing and the rollout that
- 5:16Speaker 2: these other companies have with Microsoft and Chat GBT have done.
- 5:19Speaker 2: I mean, it's been incredible every I mean, it just
- 5:21Speaker 2: keeps getting better. Every time they do something. The announcement
- 5:24Speaker 2: is great, they updated, it's great, they add it's great.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Google just can't seem to get there right yet. It's
- 5:30Speaker 2: been a while. It's been a while since they had
- 5:32Speaker 2: a rollout. Remember they tried the gaming system, they tried
- 5:34Speaker 2: the glasses. These technologies are great and people are looking
- 5:37Speaker 2: at it like that's the future. Somebody comes and does
- 5:39Speaker 2: it the right way, and it's like, wait, we forgot
- 5:42Speaker 2: that Google actually started that. Right before there was the
- 5:45Speaker 2: Google Glasses, and then you had Meta had the Quest
- 5:48Speaker 2: and then Apple obviously this division pro Now you forgot
- 5:51Speaker 2: that Google was even involved in it. Then they had
- 5:53Speaker 2: the gaming system that botch. They try to do the
- 5:56Speaker 2: search and the chat GBT rival with that flopped. They
- 6:01Speaker 2: try it now they named the Gemini. We'll see what happened.
- 6:05Speaker 2: It's just playing catch up. They have the innovation in
- 6:07Speaker 2: the role, it's just the execution hasn't been great.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Rashot, what were we gonna say?
- 6:12Speaker 3: Well, now, I was just gonna say from a just
- 6:15Speaker 3: because I want to we cover news a lot of
- 6:19Speaker 3: market moneys, but I also want to just give like
- 6:21Speaker 3: some investment advice. And this is related to this topic
- 6:24Speaker 3: where there's a lot of people that watch the show
- 6:26Speaker 3: that might have just begun investing or they have not
- 6:30Speaker 3: invested yet.
- 6:31Speaker 4: And the first two stories that we just covered.
- 6:34Speaker 3: On Apple and Google is an example why it is
- 6:38Speaker 3: usually more beneficial to invest in an ETF or an
- 6:43Speaker 3: index war as opposed to an individual company, right, because
- 6:47Speaker 3: anything can happen, and even the strongest companies at a
- 6:51Speaker 3: certain point start to decay.
- 6:53Speaker 4: That's just it's just life, right.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Nobody's going to be like at one point in time,
- 6:59Speaker 3: Kodak was the premiere place, you know, so it's like
- 7:04Speaker 3: every their industries change, right, and as industries change, giants
- 7:11Speaker 3: and industries start to stumble and fall. Yeah, as you
- 7:17Speaker 3: as an investor, the safest route that you can take
- 7:21Speaker 3: is to invest in an index fund or an ETF
- 7:25Speaker 3: because that gives you broad exposure. Right, You're not relying
- 7:29Speaker 3: on just one individual company, but especially like in the
- 7:34Speaker 3: in the index in the ETF, with index funds as well,
- 7:38Speaker 3: they can change allocation over the.
- 7:40Speaker 4: Course of time. They don't have to worry about it.
- 7:43Speaker 3: Exactly, it's being done for you. So and and ETF
- 7:47Speaker 3: like QQQ which is the technology ETF, and they have Microsoft,
- 7:51Speaker 3: Apple will in all of these stocks as as these
- 7:56Speaker 3: companies get weaker than the percentage that makes up the
- 8:00Speaker 3: ETF will change over the course of time. Right, as
- 8:03Speaker 3: a company like in Nvidia that gets stronger. Now you're
- 8:06Speaker 3: seeing Video's position in these funds increase, right because now
- 8:13Speaker 3: they it's like it's like a player, it's like a
- 8:15Speaker 3: it's like an NBA team, right. Yeah, as as somebody
- 8:20Speaker 3: becomes a better player, they're going to get more.
- 8:22Speaker 4: Playing time head guard. Right.
- 8:24Speaker 3: And then as somebody who was once a superstar, Klay
- 8:29Speaker 3: Thompson shot out to Clay but as his his production
- 8:32Speaker 3: starts to as his production starts to decrease, you're going
- 8:35Speaker 3: to see him get less playing time. Right, that just
- 8:38Speaker 3: makes sense if you want to win a championship. But
- 8:40Speaker 3: imagine if all of your investment dollars were in Klay
- 8:43Speaker 3: Thompson five years ago, you would have been you know,
- 8:47Speaker 3: on top of but now not so much. So that's
- 8:53Speaker 3: just something that, like I said, if you're if you're
- 8:54Speaker 3: thinking about investing, right, just take that into consideration that
- 9:00Speaker 3: whenever you invest in individual companies, it's tremendously more riskier. Yeah,
- 9:06Speaker 3: and you have to pay a lot more attention because
- 9:12Speaker 3: things change quickly, and you don't want to, you know,
- 9:16Speaker 3: stay with a loser or a company that is underperforming
- 9:20Speaker 3: for a long period of time because that could hurt
- 9:22Speaker 3: your portfolio.
- 9:23Speaker 1: And is like.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Exactly what we went over in the master class that
- 9:28Speaker 2: Ian was part of, was that exact strategy where Ian
- 9:31Speaker 2: talks about to tech two index and I said, I'm
- 9:34Speaker 2: going to make a cousin version of it, right, like
- 9:36Speaker 2: this will be the two texts to ETFs. Not a cousin,
- 9:40Speaker 2: not a cousin, A family member, a brother.
- 9:42Speaker 1: How about that? A brother? He said, the cousins is dead,
- 9:51Speaker 1: A brother, a brother.
- 9:52Speaker 2: Of the strategy, right, because again when and this happens,
- 9:56Speaker 2: I'm sure ian to you all the time. You can
- 9:58Speaker 2: tell people to tech two indexes and it'll ask you, well,
- 10:00Speaker 2: wh's two texts? Yeah, right, And so to even simplify it,
- 10:03Speaker 2: let's just make it two indexes and two ETFs and
- 10:06Speaker 2: that becomes the legs of this table. Like this investment
- 10:09Speaker 2: table that I kind of drew this analogy with, it's
- 10:11Speaker 2: an investment table where those are the legs of it.
- 10:13Speaker 2: And if you want to after you've had experienced invested
- 10:16Speaker 2: in index funds and ETFs, if you want to get
- 10:20Speaker 2: singular equities, then that's what you put on top of
- 10:22Speaker 2: the table to make sure they're strong companies.
- 10:24Speaker 1: And so yeah, you have QQQ, but if you.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Individually want to have the upside of Nvidia, then you
- 10:30Speaker 2: can have that on top of your table. But make
- 10:32Speaker 2: sure that you have the legs so you'll have a
- 10:34Speaker 2: base first, because that's important.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Right.
- 10:36Speaker 2: If the legs collapse, the tables falling, right, So make
- 10:40Speaker 2: sure you have the base first, So that's important.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:42Speaker 5: And for those who go actually anyway, vo O VTI
- 10:45Speaker 5: are good ones U VGT if you want exposure to technology,
- 10:48Speaker 5: but I think the overall theme in these first two
- 10:50Speaker 5: stories we're talking about. I think we're seeing a decay
- 10:54Speaker 5: monopolies like Apple of course had a long term stranglehold.
- 10:58Speaker 5: My final expiration date for Apple is twenty thirty four,
- 11:02Speaker 5: when I think things will start to unravel.
- 11:04Speaker 1: They won't have the lead.
- 11:06Speaker 5: Google has mismanaged a bunch of great projects, like they
- 11:09Speaker 5: should have ever tried to do social media back in
- 11:11Speaker 5: the day with the glasses deep mind, Like they remind
- 11:15Speaker 5: me a lot of OKC.
- 11:17Speaker 4: The team they have now, But.
- 11:19Speaker 5: It's like you had hardening the red and bruston. You
- 11:22Speaker 5: let them go for nothing, Like how do you let
- 11:27Speaker 5: Ai come to prominence the way that they happened. This
- 11:30Speaker 5: is one of your ideas from like eight years ago,
- 11:32Speaker 5: Like ray Curlsweild was telling them about this in two
- 11:35Speaker 5: thousand and five and they did nothing with it. So
- 11:38Speaker 5: going back to the point is safe for the investor
- 11:40Speaker 5: indexes ETFs. But I think we're seeing this is what
- 11:44Speaker 5: happens when money is cheap. Capital is cheap, it's easy
- 11:47Speaker 5: to hire, and then the market conditions change. And the
- 11:50Speaker 5: crazy part, they haven't even raised rate yet. If they
- 11:54Speaker 5: raised rates, we're really going to see things get tough.
- 11:57Speaker 2: And it goes back to the topic I think you
- 12:00Speaker 2: guys were talking about on Blackout. What would that company
- 12:03Speaker 2: be if they didn't invest in YouTube in two thousand
- 12:05Speaker 2: and seven and if Zuckerberg didn't grab Instagram, two of
- 12:10Speaker 2: the greatest acquisitions.
- 12:12Speaker 5: And for everyone who kept saying they shouldn't have sold
- 12:15Speaker 5: YouTube to Google, they sold right before the biggest crash
- 12:19Speaker 5: of modern times happened. They're smart. Let me give you
- 12:23Speaker 5: a clue. When people exit and you don't hear from
- 12:25Speaker 5: them again, leisure has been heard. I haven't seen Time
- 12:30Speaker 5: from my space three times since he is elated.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Enjoy You got to exit at the right time.
- 12:38Speaker 4: Yes, Sirsky, exit at the right time.
- 12:43Speaker 3: Ladies have to know when the leader party. You gotta
- 12:45Speaker 3: know when the lead party. You see that meme of
- 12:47Speaker 3: Kevin Hart with.
- 12:49Speaker 1: And yeah, yeah, that was crazy.
- 12:51Speaker 4: I did.
- 12:52Speaker 1: Yeah. I asked Andy, what are you doing in that situation?
- 12:55Speaker 1: It's by the drink.
- 12:56Speaker 2: First, when the introvert is ready to leave the bar.
- 13:00Speaker 4: Mandy b said you was you was cat. She said
- 13:02Speaker 4: you was a cat ship.
- 13:04Speaker 1: Put it put in the comments.
- 13:05Speaker 2: If I bought you a flight the first quarter, No,
- 13:10Speaker 2: not for the first In the second quarter, second quarter
- 13:12Speaker 2: were still running though.
- 13:13Speaker 5: Right put it in chats. I got five grand for somebody.
- 13:18Speaker 5: If you got some pictures with me?
- 13:20Speaker 4: What's up?
- 13:21Speaker 5: Make sure the receipts standing on badness, you know somebody?
- 13:28Speaker 4: Oh man, did you just listen if Google and Meta.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Cutting back should by a flight?
- 13:34Speaker 5: Oh no, we all got come back. We all got
- 13:37Speaker 5: cut back. Nope, Zuckerberg got that Meta AI going crazy
- 13:42Speaker 5: for a reason.
- 13:43Speaker 1: I mean, I'm going to be conservative.
- 13:44Speaker 2: People are losing jobs, so that that mean that's the
- 13:47Speaker 2: unfortunate part. But they are saying that the people who
- 13:49Speaker 2: they let go can reapply for different positions within the company.
- 13:52Speaker 6: So we'll see an illegal alien from Guatemala charged with
- 13:56Speaker 6: raping a child in Massachusetts, an MS thirteen gang member
- 14:00Speaker 6: from Al Salvador accused of murdering a Texas man of
- 14:04Speaker 6: Venezuelan charged with filming and selling child pornography in Michigan.
- 14:09Speaker 6: These are just some of the heinous migrant criminals caught
- 14:12Speaker 6: because of President Donald J. Trump's leadership. I'm Christy nom
- 14:16Speaker 6: the United States Secretary of Homeland Security. Under President Trump,
- 14:20Speaker 6: attempted illegal border crossings are at the lowest levels ever recorded,
- 14:25Speaker 6: and over one hundred thousand illegal aliens have been arrested.
- 14:28Speaker 6: If you are here illegally, your next you will be
- 14:32Speaker 6: fine nearly one thousand dollars a day, imprisoned, and deported,
- 14:36Speaker 6: you will never return. But if you register using our
- 14:39Speaker 6: CBP home app and leave now, you could be allowed
- 14:42Speaker 6: to return legally. Do what's right. Leave now. Under President
- 14:47Speaker 6: Trump America's laws, border and families will be protected.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Sponsored by the United States Department of Homeland Security,
