- 0:17Speaker 2: Ladies and gentlemen, here's Bill Handle.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Good morning everybody, Bill Handle. Here. It is a Friday morning.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Foody Friday, Ask candle anything Friday. May once, as we
- 0:34Speaker 1: are already kind to may Wow wow wow. I say
- 0:38Speaker 1: this every year, but it's getting faster and faster as
- 0:41Speaker 1: these time goes. Okay, Amy, good morning, Hello Bill, Hello, Neil,
- 0:48Speaker 1: there you are.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Indeed, Happy birthday to my kidney donor today. Who's a
- 0:52Speaker 2: fan of yours? Oh, Julie's birthday is today, and she
- 0:57Speaker 2: kept me alive. I have a woman's kidney and I
- 1:00Speaker 2: pee sitting down now, good for you?
- 1:03Speaker 1: Effect yeah yeah, And what did you do? I mean,
- 1:07Speaker 1: I'm assuming you are celebrating with kidney beans and swimming
- 1:10Speaker 1: in your kidney shaped pool.
- 1:12Speaker 2: No, no, but I do go to my six year
- 1:16Speaker 2: checkup on Monday, and they, you know, put me up
- 1:18Speaker 2: on the racks, check my oil.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Okay, fair enough and uh and go morning. Good morning? Okay,
- 1:26Speaker 1: Will there you are? Will you want to turn a
- 1:32Speaker 1: microphone on? There we are the show started, Will Will
- 1:36Speaker 1: is uh what does Ann call him a traffic specialist?
- 1:40Speaker 1: Didn't you just get his PhD in traffic?
- 1:42Speaker 2: That's it?
- 1:44Speaker 1: And and they're Sam filling in for Kno, Sam, who
- 1:48Speaker 1: is our board certified board operator, also a PhD. Yeah, actually,
- 1:54Speaker 1: I'm doing my dissertation stuff right now. Yeah you know, actually, no,
- 1:58Speaker 1: that's not true. Well he is actually one of the
- 2:01Speaker 1: things we don't know about Sam. Sam is working on
- 2:04Speaker 1: his pH d in masturbation. And by the way, I'm
- 2:07Speaker 1: not kidding, is that true? Fact, I'm it really comes
- 2:13Speaker 1: down to which is more dominant for you, Well, you know,
- 2:15Speaker 1: having a stranger visit you once in a while, little
- 2:18Speaker 1: things like that, you know which hand is going to
- 2:19Speaker 1: be the best to use. Yeah, there you're going. Actually, no,
- 2:24Speaker 1: it's actually going to be on porn Star mental Health.
- 2:28Speaker 1: I mean for real, I mean he's getting Yeah, human
- 2:32Speaker 1: sexuality and porn Star mental health. Wow, that's good. Only
- 2:39Speaker 1: three existing studies in the last two decades, so there's
- 2:41Speaker 1: a definitely room in the world for of research for
- 2:44Speaker 1: this one. How do you research it? Do you talk
- 2:46Speaker 1: to these folks?
- 2:48Speaker 2: Hands on?
- 2:49Speaker 1: Yes, I'm a doctor, trust me. No, it's no, it's
- 2:54Speaker 1: a lot of research is going to be done anonymous
- 2:56Speaker 1: surveys and the results go directly into a computer system.
- 3:00Speaker 1: That and I'll tabulate it and interpret the results. All right,
- 3:03Speaker 1: Do you plan on selling it, monetizing it, going for
- 3:06Speaker 1: the money shot at a hole. No, it'll open up
- 3:09Speaker 1: other opportunities to get to write some books. But this
- 3:13Speaker 1: is the kind of thing that I'll just publish it
- 3:14Speaker 1: and probably get a little bit of media attention for it.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Considering good night. Adult film performers are pretty dicey subject
- 3:20Speaker 1: social media wise, it's going to be hard to swallow.
- 3:24Speaker 1: But oh, now we're really Yeah, yeah, it is Friday.
- 3:30Speaker 1: And and did I say good morning to you? Yet?
- 3:32Speaker 1: You did? Okay, I completely forgot. That's okay, that's okay.
- 3:36Speaker 1: You yeah, I understand. I am entering dementia. Just ask Linz.
- 3:40Speaker 1: I am actually in the although it hasn't changed. I've
- 3:44Speaker 1: been entering the dementia phase for a very long time. Okay,
- 3:49Speaker 1: some big news today, to say the least, But let's
- 3:52Speaker 1: go ahead and start it with handling the news. Amy
- 3:58Speaker 1: Neil and me lead story.
- 4:00Speaker 2: I'm taking what they gave it because I'm working for them.
- 4:05Speaker 1: You know, I had forgotten, as you have that the
- 4:10Speaker 1: shutdown was still going on for many folks working for
- 4:15Speaker 1: the federal government. Yeah, you've got FEMA, Secret Service, the
- 4:20Speaker 1: Coastguard TSA, we're all working without pay, and now it stopped.
- 4:25Speaker 1: And it's stupid politics. It's just stupid, stupid politics. So
- 4:30Speaker 1: the Democrats produced, here's our plan. This was a month
- 4:34Speaker 1: ago or yeah, sooner or a month ago or later,
- 4:38Speaker 1: and the Republicans said, absolutely not. And they fought back
- 4:41Speaker 1: and forth because Democrats wanted to set apart paying for
- 4:45Speaker 1: homeland security at least immigration immigration reform or immigration fundings,
- 4:54Speaker 1: that we'll deal with funding later, and the Republicans said,
- 4:57Speaker 1: absolutely not, we have to deal with it now. Guess
- 4:59Speaker 1: what they're going to deal with immigration issues later, just
- 5:04Speaker 1: like the Democrats want to. And why is that? Because
- 5:07Speaker 1: the President said, yeah, let's do it, and of course
- 5:09Speaker 1: the Republicans jumped up and down and it happens, and
- 5:15Speaker 1: it did happen. So the President signed it, and now
- 5:18Speaker 1: you'll have these folks in the Coast Guard and the TSA,
- 5:21Speaker 1: Secret Service, other parts of Homeland Security actually getting paid.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Still the issue with that not even that, because certain
- 5:28Speaker 1: parts of ICE have already been funded. Do you know
- 5:31Speaker 1: that they're funded through the end of President Trump's term
- 5:37Speaker 1: through the end of the term, so you know, they
- 5:40Speaker 1: don't have to worry about it anymore. Oh, here's another
- 5:43Speaker 1: fun one, amy.
- 5:45Speaker 3: What's in a name? House Speaker Mike Johnson says it's
- 5:50Speaker 3: not necessary for Congress to weigh in on the military
- 5:54Speaker 3: action in Iran because the US is currently, as he said,
- 5:58Speaker 3: not at war now is common's come as the conflict
- 6:01Speaker 3: with Iran nears that sixty day mark, which is a
- 6:04Speaker 3: threshold outlined in the nineteen seventy three War Powers Resolution
- 6:08Speaker 3: that says the President has to remove military forces from
- 6:11Speaker 3: conflict within sixty days if Congress doesn't authorize a war
- 6:16Speaker 3: before that deadline.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Okay, and nic that can be extended for thirty days.
- 6:22Speaker 1: So Mike Johnson technically right, the US is not at war.
- 6:26Speaker 1: The United States has not been at war ever since
- 6:28Speaker 1: December eighth, nineteen forty one.
- 6:30Speaker 3: Which is funny because Pete Heggsa says our war with Iran.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Yeah, as the President says, our war with Iran. But
- 6:37Speaker 1: then Pete Hesseth also came up with there's that sixty
- 6:41Speaker 1: day drop dead date, so to speak, the sixty day timeline,
- 6:47Speaker 1: and Hegseth said because we're in a ceasefire, the sixty
- 6:51Speaker 1: days doesn't apply. In other words, that tolls the sixty days,
- 6:57Speaker 1: so it just it puts it on stop. Where did
- 7:00Speaker 1: he come up with that? He made that up. He
- 7:03Speaker 1: literally made that up out of whole cloth. So is
- 7:09Speaker 1: there gonna be? It doesn't matter, there's gonna be. The
- 7:13Speaker 1: Republicans will never vote any anyway contrary to what the
- 7:17Speaker 1: President wants, so that would be what difference they make,
- 7:21Speaker 1: all right.
- 7:21Speaker 2: A note that we didn't know about this is Jeffrey
- 7:26Speaker 2: Epstein's possible suicide note. It has been out of public
- 7:30Speaker 2: view for the seven years. It's a strange story bill
- 7:34Speaker 2: because the person who found it was a cell mate
- 7:39Speaker 2: or something, and so this note ended up getting caught
- 7:44Speaker 2: up in his cellmate's legal activity, and so it is
- 7:52Speaker 2: locked up in court in a courthouse somewhere, and all
- 7:56Speaker 2: we know is that the person who found it said
- 8:00Speaker 2: it said time to say goodbye on it, and that's
- 8:05Speaker 2: about it. So it exists apparently. I don't think it
- 8:09Speaker 2: hasn't been confirmed whether it's his or not for real,
- 8:13Speaker 2: but it's tied up in another case, so we haven't
- 8:15Speaker 2: seen it.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Yeah, And they're saying that the investigation needed it, and
- 8:20Speaker 1: the investigators had to look at it to finish up
- 8:25Speaker 1: their analysis their investigation. Why how so he leaves a
- 8:30Speaker 1: suicide note I'm going to kill myself. Okay, gee, really,
- 8:34Speaker 1: you're absolutely right you killed yourself. So I'm missing something here.
- 8:41Speaker 3: Louisiana kind of called off an election. They say, that's
- 8:45Speaker 3: just postponed, but they have. The state has suspended its
- 8:48Speaker 3: congressional primaries. And this happened just as early voting was
- 8:53Speaker 3: about to get underway. Republican Governor Jeff Landry issued in
- 8:56Speaker 3: executive order postponing the US House primary in response to
- 9:02Speaker 3: the Supreme Court ruling from Wednesday that struck down a
- 9:08Speaker 3: majority black congressional district. They said that it was based
- 9:13Speaker 3: on race, and so they couldn't do it.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Yeah, well, of course they could. It's a little bit wonky,
- 9:19Speaker 1: and it could easily say, since the election has already
- 9:22Speaker 1: started and we're in the process because mail in ballots
- 9:26Speaker 1: have already started to come in, we don't have time
- 9:29Speaker 1: to redraw the map. But this is exactly what they're doing.
- 9:33Speaker 1: They want to draw the congressional map to eliminate or
- 9:37Speaker 1: reduce the black vote. And here is and if you
- 9:44Speaker 1: look at the law, and this is what the Supreme
- 9:46Speaker 1: Court did is you cannot use race at all to
- 9:50Speaker 1: determine what a congressional district is. You can use all
- 9:54Speaker 1: the politics you want, but not race. And the problem,
- 9:59Speaker 1: if you want to view it a problem depending on
- 10:00Speaker 1: which side of the coin you're on, of course, is
- 10:03Speaker 1: that the move to stop the restrict redistricting pan plan
- 10:10Speaker 1: is based on race. And what we want to do
- 10:14Speaker 1: that is the Democrats, in terms of looking at the
- 10:17Speaker 1: congressional districts, we want it based on race because race,
- 10:21Speaker 1: particularly African Americans, are getting screwed, and that the court
- 10:25Speaker 1: said you can't do that. It has to be for
- 10:28Speaker 1: political purposes. So what you're going to see is now
- 10:33Speaker 1: whoever party, whatever party is in power, there will be
- 10:36Speaker 1: a redistricting plan every four years or every eight years,
- 10:41Speaker 1: and what will happen or maybe even after two years,
- 10:44Speaker 1: because it's congress redistricts and it's going to change, And
- 10:49Speaker 1: they're going to say, this has nothing to do with
- 10:50Speaker 1: the race. It is incidental that what we're doing is
- 10:55Speaker 1: going to reduce the ability of African Americans their influence
- 11:01Speaker 1: on the vote. So that's what they're going to happen.
- 11:03Speaker 1: This thing is blown wide open.
- 11:05Speaker 3: Do you think Bill that now states are going to
- 11:07Speaker 3: be either all red or all blue, because that's the
- 11:12Speaker 3: way that they're drawing those mats.
- 11:14Speaker 1: That's the way. That's exactly what they're doing. That's exactly
- 11:16Speaker 1: what they're doing and what ends up happening as long
- 11:19Speaker 1: as state legislators, legislatures stay in power. The red states,
- 11:26Speaker 1: they're just a lot more red states than there are
- 11:28Speaker 1: blue states, which means, yeah, the Democrats or the Republicans
- 11:34Speaker 1: are lining this up, so Republican legislators, congress people have
- 11:40Speaker 1: a better chance of winning.
- 11:42Speaker 3: But it's also based on population, right, So California is
- 11:45Speaker 3: going to turn bluer and bluer and bluer.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Absolutely absolutely, And that's a California a lot of votes,
- 11:51Speaker 1: yeah see, I mean yeah, but taking into effect that
- 11:54Speaker 1: California produces, i don't know, fifty three to fifty eight seats,
- 11:59Speaker 1: the Democrats assume California's vote is already super blue and
- 12:05Speaker 1: if it weren't, if California were not, it would be
- 12:08Speaker 1: a wipeout with not even being close. And so you're
- 12:13Speaker 1: gonna see redistricting. And this was all President Trump did.
- 12:16Speaker 1: This He's the one that said, let's redistrict right now
- 12:22Speaker 1: for the prior to the midterms. So things have changed. Yeah,
- 12:26Speaker 1: we're I mean, we're looking at really a different way
- 12:28Speaker 1: of dealing with our country and living. Well, I've done
- 12:31Speaker 1: that before and we'll do it again. Okay, let's take
- 12:33Speaker 1: a break, we'll come back. Okayfi Am six forty, don't
- 12:37Speaker 1: handle here on Friday morning, May first, and we continue
- 12:42Speaker 1: with handle on the news, Amy, Neil and me.
- 12:48Speaker 2: Okay, So the battle between Trump and Kimmel continues. You've
- 12:53Speaker 2: got Trump saying that ABC better bier Kimmel, but the
- 12:59Speaker 2: mouse stand and strong with his bright yellow shoes in
- 13:04Speaker 2: the firmly whittled in the stand there so no give
- 13:09Speaker 2: on that. A little disturbing when a president of these
- 13:15Speaker 2: United States has an issue with free speech, though technically
- 13:20Speaker 2: it's not free speech when you're hired by someone that
- 13:24Speaker 2: is correct.
- 13:25Speaker 1: Although it is free speech as far as the network
- 13:28Speaker 1: is concerned. He went on, this is the president and
- 13:31Speaker 1: he posted when is ABC fake news networks firing? Seriously
- 13:37Speaker 1: unfunny Jimmy Kimmel, who incompetently presides over one of the
- 13:40Speaker 1: lowest rated shows on television. Not true by the way
- 13:44Speaker 1: people are angry. It had better be soon. Now, what's
- 13:47Speaker 1: going to happen in light of this? What Brendan Carr
- 13:50Speaker 1: did is started an investigation to challenge ABC's station licenses.
- 13:58Speaker 1: And what'll have I guarantee you it has nothing to
- 14:00Speaker 1: do with Jimmy Kimmel. As far as the FC FCC
- 14:03Speaker 1: is concerned. All they're doing is questioning ABC's dedication to
- 14:09Speaker 1: the public. That's the problem. And they'll come up with
- 14:12Speaker 1: something other than the Jimmy Kimmel issue. Oh no, no,
- 14:16Speaker 1: the President had nothing to do with this. It's just
- 14:18Speaker 1: we have some serious concerns about ABC and the network.
- 14:23Speaker 1: And so now what's going to happen. Well, when the
- 14:27Speaker 1: Charlie Kirk comments, ABC canceled Kimmel and then brought him back,
- 14:32Speaker 1: suspended it and brought him back within a week because
- 14:34Speaker 1: the backlash was insane. If ABC, if those licenses are
- 14:42Speaker 1: channeled and the FCC yanks them, which it has the
- 14:44Speaker 1: power to do, I mean, they'll be lawsuits, et cetera.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Can you imagine the backlash. You will see advertising, You
- 14:53Speaker 1: will see boycotts of advertisers going crazy, that ABC would decave.
- 15:01Speaker 1: You would see that, and God forbid I would think
- 15:04Speaker 1: even one or two Republicans would have a problem with this.
- 15:08Speaker 1: You think you know up to this point, No, up
- 15:12Speaker 1: to this point. No, No, it's whatever the President wants.
- 15:17Speaker 1: But I want you to keep in mind as this
- 15:19Speaker 1: thing goes forward, and if they move against ABC in
- 15:24Speaker 1: your head, keep on putting in that thought. It's not
- 15:26Speaker 1: about Jimmy Kimmel. It's not about Jimmy Kimmel. It's not
- 15:30Speaker 1: about Jimmy Kimmel. Right, click your heels three times. You're
- 15:35Speaker 1: not going to go to ABC. You're going to watch
- 15:39Speaker 1: some other network. It's horrific. It is absolutely horrific.
- 15:45Speaker 3: The woman who died on a carnival cruise ship near
- 15:48Speaker 3: Catalina Island has been identified. She's twenty four year old
- 15:51Speaker 3: Breonna Miller, and for the life of me, I can't
- 15:53Speaker 3: find out where she's from. But she was traveling with
- 15:57Speaker 3: her family. They're the ones who alerted the ship's crew
- 16:00Speaker 3: that she had fallen from a stateroom balcony on the
- 16:04Speaker 3: ship and died.
- 16:06Speaker 1: She fell on the deck below, didn't she Yeah, well
- 16:11Speaker 1: you can see you can actually go over that balcony
- 16:14Speaker 1: if you're drunk enough. I mean, it's pretty it's about
- 16:17Speaker 1: waist high.
- 16:17Speaker 2: If you go all the balcona doesn't seem smart.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Mean to walk on it. Watch this, I'm walking the
- 16:24Speaker 1: night roape here.
- 16:25Speaker 2: No, I just mean it doesn't it seems smart to
- 16:29Speaker 2: have a rail so low. If you go into those
- 16:33Speaker 2: nineteen twenties houses, they you know, and they have these
- 16:36Speaker 2: long staircases, the Walt Disney House and those felises like this,
- 16:40Speaker 2: and they're a waist high. I mean, it's right. It's
- 16:44Speaker 2: like a you know, it's a little pivot, perfect for
- 16:47Speaker 2: falling over.
- 16:48Speaker 1: But look at the balcony on a cruise ship. You've
- 16:51Speaker 1: ever been on one. You lean over and you put
- 16:54Speaker 1: your elbows and your forearms on the balcony and you
- 16:58Speaker 1: look around. You enjoy the ocean. And that's if you
- 17:02Speaker 1: can't do that, it takes away a lot of the fun.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Here's the trick. Don't lean over so you can fall off.
- 17:12Speaker 2: All right?
- 17:13Speaker 1: Moving on?
- 17:14Speaker 2: Okay, You remember there was fourteen FEMA employees who signed
- 17:18Speaker 2: a public letter of descent last August, and the purpose
- 17:22Speaker 2: of all this was to sound an alarm about the
- 17:25Speaker 2: agency's capacity to respond to disasters, which is, you know
- 17:30Speaker 2: what they do, and it looks like the staffing issues
- 17:38Speaker 2: and everything that triggered those concerns are being looked at
- 17:42Speaker 2: now and those fourteen who were let go have been vindicated,
- 17:48Speaker 2: as it seems, and they're reinstated after those eight months.
- 17:53Speaker 1: All right, let me throw another rent here into the works,
- 17:57Speaker 1: and that is you run an agency and out goes
- 18:01Speaker 1: a public letter of dissent. Is not that some form
- 18:05Speaker 1: of insubordination? And we keep on You can just keep
- 18:08Speaker 1: on going. And now what you're doing is inviting people
- 18:12Speaker 1: to write all kinds of letters how crappy your employer
- 18:15Speaker 1: is publicly without any recourse. It's sort of a mixed
- 18:22Speaker 1: bag on that one.
- 18:24Speaker 3: Well, and these people were unpaid administrative leave, right, they
- 18:27Speaker 3: were still getting their money, right, they were getting their money,
- 18:30Speaker 3: and they turned right now.
- 18:32Speaker 1: I don't know why the government turned around, Maybe because
- 18:37Speaker 1: it was so clear as to what they were saying
- 18:39Speaker 1: that the ability for FEMA to respond was so bad
- 18:44Speaker 1: that the head of FEMA or the government couldn't do
- 18:48Speaker 1: much about it because it was so blatant. But you know,
- 18:51Speaker 1: if I had an employee that was publicly going out
- 18:55Speaker 1: there and printing letters talking about how crappy it is
- 18:57Speaker 1: to work here, I'd go then quit.
- 19:00Speaker 2: Yeah, but this is a government agency that helps preserve life.
- 19:04Speaker 2: I understand property.
- 19:06Speaker 1: I guess it.
- 19:07Speaker 2: So this is the type you want whistleblowers in a
- 19:10Speaker 2: system like that we do.
- 19:12Speaker 1: But I'm not arguing the point. I'm just taking the
- 19:14Speaker 1: point of the agency itself.
- 19:17Speaker 2: Isn't it truth? Uh? What do you what?
- 19:19Speaker 1: Do you an absolutely defense defamation? Yes, but it's the
- 19:22Speaker 1: truth is not a defense to insubordination. Okay, moving on,
- 19:28Speaker 1: We're going to take a break and we'll be back.
- 19:31Speaker 1: You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from kf I
- 19:34Speaker 1: am six forty Heyfi Handle here and the morning crew.
- 19:40Speaker 1: It's Friday, May first, and we continue with more Handle
- 19:45Speaker 1: on the News with Amy and Neil, who is not
- 19:49Speaker 1: going to be here Monday. He is going in for
- 19:52Speaker 1: a physical.
- 19:54Speaker 2: Yeah. I'm very excited. It's been six years since I
- 19:57Speaker 2: had my kidney transplant.
- 20:00Speaker 1: So are you Are you going to be asking for
- 20:02Speaker 1: that exam from the doctor.
- 20:05Speaker 2: No, it's not that kind of physical. They just check
- 20:08Speaker 2: to make sure my kidney and everything else is doing
- 20:11Speaker 2: what it should be doing.
- 20:12Speaker 1: I shared that joke with you, didn't I about the doctor?
- 20:15Speaker 1: I think I did? Which one the one where you
- 20:18Speaker 1: go to the proctologists, and the proctologists asks you to
- 20:20Speaker 1: drop your pants and you go where and doctor goes
- 20:24Speaker 1: on that pig next to my pants. Okay, uh, not bad.
- 20:31Speaker 2: No, it could be worse.
- 20:33Speaker 1: It could be worse.
- 20:34Speaker 2: Not bad at all.
- 20:36Speaker 1: All right, let's move on, and Amy sort of shaking
- 20:38Speaker 1: her head. Amy, let me explain that joke.
- 20:40Speaker 3: Okay, no, no, there's no explanation needed.
- 20:43Speaker 1: Oh, okay, good, moving on.
- 20:46Speaker 3: This recall is heating up. Thermos is issue a recall
- 20:49Speaker 3: for about eight point two million food jars and beverage
- 20:53Speaker 3: bottles after more than two dozen people reported having laceration,
- 20:57Speaker 3: injuries or permanent vision law. How did that happen? Well,
- 21:03Speaker 3: Company officials say perishable food or beverages are stored in
- 21:06Speaker 3: the containers for an extended period of time. The stopper
- 21:10Speaker 3: can forcefully eject when open, which can result in serious
- 21:13Speaker 3: impact injury and laceration hazards. It affects five point eight
- 21:18Speaker 3: million stainless King food jars and about two point three
- 21:21Speaker 3: million Sportsmen food and beverage bottles sold. I don't know nationwide.
- 21:26Speaker 1: What is the bitch about these people getting hurt? I mean,
- 21:28Speaker 1: they tell you right there, these are pop off jars,
- 21:34Speaker 1: pop off top drs. Uh Okay, Neil, explain that how
- 21:40Speaker 1: that happens.
- 21:41Speaker 2: I don't know what you're talking about, sir.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Fermentation is what I'm talking about. That's what it build
- 21:46Speaker 1: up exactly, and what I thought you were going to
- 21:49Speaker 1: jump into that and these are pop off tops.
- 21:51Speaker 2: I got it.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Okay, I'm glad you did. That's too real that no
- 21:55Speaker 1: one laughed at.
- 21:56Speaker 2: He said, put your pants on the peg next to mine.
- 22:01Speaker 1: Yes, he did.
- 22:02Speaker 2: I get it. Britney Spears.
- 22:05Speaker 1: By the way, the other question, the other question I
- 22:07Speaker 1: have this is a food and a scientific question.
- 22:10Speaker 2: Okay, okay.
- 22:11Speaker 1: You've got thermos bottles that you put a hot super
- 22:15Speaker 1: hot foods in and it keeps it hot, and the
- 22:18Speaker 1: same thing works with cold, it keeps it cold. How
- 22:21Speaker 1: does it know which is which?
- 22:26Speaker 2: It insulates? That's all. Its fair enough hot things hot
- 22:32Speaker 2: and cold.
- 22:32Speaker 4: Things, cold things, and it does know rating. Yeah, excellent, okay,
- 22:40Speaker 4: Britney Spears. If you remember she went back in March.
- 22:45Speaker 4: Early March, she was arrested h in southern California here
- 22:50Speaker 4: on a highway driving her BMW. They say she was
- 22:53Speaker 4: driving erradically at a high rate of speed.
- 22:56Speaker 2: What did Amy. What was the term they called called
- 22:59Speaker 2: it a wet A wet what?
- 23:02Speaker 3: Oh yeah, it's a like.
- 23:04Speaker 2: A wet erratic driving or something.
- 23:08Speaker 3: Yeah, Mark did a story on it. It's a weird term.
- 23:11Speaker 1: Reckless, wet reckless, wet reckless? Is that anything like a
- 23:15Speaker 1: wet dream?
- 23:16Speaker 2: Well, you know what's interesting. Wet reckless is the name
- 23:18Speaker 2: of the dissertation Sam's doing.
- 23:20Speaker 1: Oh, that's correct, well said, this.
- 23:24Speaker 2: Is Uh, she's forty four years old. She checked herself,
- 23:28Speaker 2: as we know, and do a rehabilitation treatment facility. Afterwards,
- 23:32Speaker 2: her representative representatives called the incident completely inexcusable, which I.
- 23:37Speaker 1: Imagine it's kind of neat that I'm assuming completely inexcusible
- 23:41Speaker 1: as to what she did, as opposed to the way
- 23:44Speaker 1: good for good for them coming to the table and
- 23:46Speaker 1: not arguing, just saying, yeah, it's inexcuse, it's inexcusable what happened.
- 23:51Speaker 1: I kind of like that.
- 23:53Speaker 2: Yeah, so that reckless, You know that that plea probably
- 23:58Speaker 2: saved her from getting something a little more okay, because
- 24:02Speaker 2: this is just a misdemeanor.
- 24:04Speaker 3: Well, and she's checked herself into rehab, so she's probably
- 24:08Speaker 3: going to get like twelve months probation and have to
- 24:10Speaker 3: go to a DUI class.
- 24:11Speaker 2: That kind of so no more videos of her on
- 24:14Speaker 2: Instagram and TikTok dancing with knives, maybe bathing suit maybe.
- 24:19Speaker 1: Yeah, go figure, you know, I went. I when I
- 24:22Speaker 1: went into drug rehab low with these many years ago,
- 24:25Speaker 1: nineteen eighty three, it was there were a couple of
- 24:28Speaker 1: super major stars, I mean top of the line A
- 24:33Speaker 1: list stars that were at the same time I was.
- 24:37Speaker 1: And anyway, I'm just name dropping without using names. But
- 24:40Speaker 1: in any case, I went to I was asked to
- 24:43Speaker 1: go to AA meetings as part of it, and I
- 24:45Speaker 1: went for I don't know three weeks and one of
- 24:48Speaker 1: these stars and you know how you do pitches. You're
- 24:51Speaker 1: called up to the front and you talk about how
- 24:53Speaker 1: your sobriety is doing. And after about five or six
- 24:58Speaker 1: of them, I literally stood up in the middle of
- 25:01Speaker 1: one of those pitches walked out the door, thinking I'd
- 25:04Speaker 1: rather be a cocaine addict than listen to one more
- 25:06Speaker 1: of these.
- 25:09Speaker 2: Soho was who was with you?
- 25:11Speaker 1: And tell you because it's theoretically confidential, said, I don't know.
- 25:17Speaker 1: If I can't, you know, I can't find out because
- 25:19Speaker 1: if is uh, yeah, you're still going public. I think yeah, maybe,
- 25:26Speaker 1: Uh yeah, I think let me think about that. Whether
- 25:31Speaker 1: I can go public or not on that, I should
- 25:33Speaker 1: ask myself tomorrow. If I wasn't, I can't.
- 25:37Speaker 2: You're just gonna call yourself an idiot and tell you
- 25:40Speaker 2: you have no case.
- 25:41Speaker 1: Yeah, pretty much, pretty much. Why don't we take a break?
- 25:43Speaker 1: What do you think? Guys? Finish up handle on the
- 25:46Speaker 1: news on this Friday morning? I am sixty bill handle
- 25:52Speaker 1: here on a Friday. Ask handle anything Friday. That's the
- 25:56Speaker 1: eight o'clock hour where we have a rip roaring good time.
- 25:59Speaker 1: Let's go ahead and finish out pandle on the news
- 26:03Speaker 1: with Amy Neil and me.
- 26:05Speaker 3: You get an ira and you get an IRAO. President
- 26:10Speaker 3: Trump assigned an executive order to broaden access to retirement
- 26:14Speaker 3: savings for workers whose employers do not offer four oh
- 26:17Speaker 3: one K type plans. So there's a new website. You're
- 26:20Speaker 3: gonna love this bill. It's called trumpra dot gov.
- 26:24Speaker 1: Oh of course, what else would it be called?
- 26:26Speaker 3: Exactly? And it allows people who again don't have four
- 26:31Speaker 3: oh one k's offered through their work or for their employment,
- 26:35Speaker 3: to launch their own retirement savings. And then certain people
- 26:41Speaker 3: low income will also get a one thousand dollars a
- 26:44Speaker 3: year match for their retirement contributions.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Yeah, that started with Joe Biden. I don't think it
- 26:52Speaker 1: was the law at that point he was able to
- 26:53Speaker 1: get that through, but President Trump did and so it's
- 26:58Speaker 1: always it's always been the case. It's so Social Security
- 27:01Speaker 1: was a supplement and unfortunately people live on Social Security
- 27:05Speaker 1: because they haven't gone out of their way to save
- 27:09Speaker 1: or couldn't because they live basically paycheck to paycheck. And
- 27:13Speaker 1: so Social Security is changing its name to Trump Security,
- 27:17Speaker 1: as you know. And actually this is a good idea.
- 27:22Speaker 1: It's going to cost the government some money, but it's
- 27:26Speaker 1: it's a social program, which under the current administration, I'm
- 27:30Speaker 1: kind of surprised that there's going to be this much
- 27:32Speaker 1: money that's going to be invested in a social program,
- 27:35Speaker 1: because that's just not the case usually.
- 27:38Speaker 2: All Right, the UK under duress because or distress rather
- 27:46Speaker 2: under address no not a fan military entourage for King
- 27:54Speaker 2: Charles and Queen Camilla their visit yesterday to our Ington
- 28:00Speaker 2: National Cemetery. They were carrying the UK's national flag upside down,
- 28:06Speaker 2: which is weird.
- 28:09Speaker 3: Was it intentional or a mistaken didn't yes?
- 28:12Speaker 2: Someone did? Cat well, people seeing it caught it, but
- 28:16Speaker 2: the photographs that were going all around show the royal
- 28:20Speaker 2: couple stopped there at the Virginia Cemetery, but the Union
- 28:24Speaker 2: Jack's red and white stripes were on the were wrong
- 28:27Speaker 2: side up, same as the American flag. When it's upside down.
- 28:30Speaker 2: It's a signal of distress.
- 28:32Speaker 1: But right, it's only That's all it means is distress.
- 28:36Speaker 2: Yeah, but that's funny because they're visiting the United States.
- 28:40Speaker 1: Yeah, no, way, it's true. But I don't think that
- 28:42Speaker 1: was particularly on purpose. No, but it is kind of
- 28:45Speaker 1: a yeah, come on, someone just screwed up, that's all.
- 28:50Speaker 2: Yeah, but if someone screwed up, that's even worse. Like
- 28:53Speaker 2: to me, it's like, you don't know protocol.
- 28:57Speaker 3: Embarrassing.
- 28:58Speaker 1: Yeah, it.
- 29:01Speaker 2: Just is. I get it. It's a mistake, but protocol
- 29:03Speaker 2: is like come on, just imagine them do it how
- 29:08Speaker 2: you know them doing it with the American flag. I
- 29:10Speaker 2: know it's easier with the Union Jack, But.
- 29:18Speaker 3: I wonder who was on this flight. The first commercial
- 29:22Speaker 3: passenger flight from the US to Venezuela took off yesterday.
- 29:27Speaker 3: It was the first time in nearly seven years that
- 29:29Speaker 3: a commercial plane has gone to Venezuela. The inaugural American
- 29:34Speaker 3: Airlines flight lasted just under three and a half hours,
- 29:37Speaker 3: was from Miami to Caracas. And who was on it
- 29:41Speaker 3: mostly journalists and officials.
- 29:43Speaker 1: Yeah, this is a fairly big deal in terms of relations.
- 29:47Speaker 1: Now the president, after grabbing Maduro, I opened up relations
- 29:53Speaker 1: because Venezuela is now selling oil to America and relations
- 29:59Speaker 1: are now being established. Interestingly enough, regime has not changed
- 30:04Speaker 1: at all, even though it's being called regime changed. The
- 30:06Speaker 1: government is exactly the same as before. The people in
- 30:09Speaker 1: power are exactly the same people. It's just a different president.
- 30:13Speaker 1: But the difference is relations with the US, and so
- 30:17Speaker 1: Venezuelan oil is going to be bought by the US. Unfortunately,
- 30:21Speaker 1: their infrastructure is such that they can produce fourteen barrels
- 30:26Speaker 1: of oil a year now, and that is a little problematic,
- 30:29Speaker 1: but still it's a move forward. It is a move forward.
- 30:33Speaker 1: Ken argue with that.
- 30:36Speaker 2: All right, horrible story gets more horribler. You've got an
- 30:42Speaker 2: updated death certificate for solist Revas Hernandez. You remember she
- 30:48Speaker 2: is the alleged murder victim of singer David. They're looking
- 30:53Speaker 2: in to see whether the team was pregnant in the
- 30:58Speaker 2: year before she died, yes, thirteen years old. IM Yeah,
- 31:04Speaker 2: he was eighteen at the time. She was thirteen. And
- 31:08Speaker 2: it's you know, alleged that David killed and dismembered her
- 31:11Speaker 2: after she threatened to expose their relationship and ruin his
- 31:14Speaker 2: music commn career, which I don't think is going to
- 31:17Speaker 2: go very well after all this either. But so that
- 31:22Speaker 2: would if I don't know what the law is there, Bill,
- 31:26Speaker 2: But if she was seven to eight weeks along in
- 31:29Speaker 2: a pregnancy, does that play a part in the case.
- 31:34Speaker 1: No, not seven or eight weeks, I don't think so. Now,
- 31:36Speaker 1: if it was third trimester, yeah, that's another account of murder,
- 31:41Speaker 1: but not first trimester. It's just what it does is
- 31:45Speaker 1: basically prove that the rape did happen at thirteen, although
- 31:50Speaker 1: the desertificate does not say that it was. It was
- 31:54Speaker 1: in inconsistently.
- 31:56Speaker 2: That yeah, inconclusive at this point, that's the word I'm
- 32:00Speaker 2: looking for.
- 32:00Speaker 3: Good for you, okay when in so cal best just
- 32:06Speaker 3: not to breathe at all. A new report from the
- 32:08Speaker 3: American Lung Association says that actually the top three worst
- 32:13Speaker 3: ozone air pollution counties in the world are well here.
- 32:18Speaker 3: San Bernardino County number one, Riverside County number two, Los
- 32:22Speaker 3: Angeles County number three.
- 32:26Speaker 1: Well, I can see San Bernardino County because you breathe
- 32:30Speaker 1: faster and therefore you put your door air into your one. Yeah,
- 32:35Speaker 1: pretty much, I see. Yeah, OA is a different animal.
- 32:40Speaker 1: But still this is worse than the nation. I mean,
- 32:42Speaker 1: no surprise. I think we've always been worse in the nation.
- 32:45Speaker 1: You remember as a kid, I don't know I've been
- 32:47Speaker 1: I grew up here. So I grew up. I was
- 32:50Speaker 1: in the San Franco Valley and there were days getting
- 32:53Speaker 1: close to summer where we couldn't go outside, and you
- 32:57Speaker 1: would see the swag which looked like a fog, and
- 33:01Speaker 1: it actually hurt to breathe. You would breathe in and
- 33:06Speaker 1: the chest would be it would be sore. I mean
- 33:08Speaker 1: it would be hurt. There were stabbing paints in the chest.
- 33:11Speaker 1: That's how bad it was. It's much better now.
- 33:14Speaker 3: My parents said that they used to when because we
- 33:18Speaker 3: were here when I was like two and then we left.
- 33:20Speaker 3: They said they didn't know that there were mountains.
- 33:23Speaker 1: Yeah, you could see days as you couldn't see. Yeah,
- 33:26Speaker 1: there were days when it looked like clouds that were Yeah,
- 33:29Speaker 1: I mean there you couldn't see. It looked like a
- 33:32Speaker 1: fog that had hit the ground. It was that growing
- 33:34Speaker 1: up in Newberry Park. The skies are gorgeous and you'd
- 33:37Speaker 1: drive into the valley and it was crazy.
- 33:41Speaker 2: You're like, what the hell is that?
- 33:43Speaker 1: So let me ask you. You lived in Newbury Park
- 33:47Speaker 1: and you came to KFI to work, and how long
- 33:49Speaker 1: a drive was that for you? Each way?
- 33:52Speaker 2: It was originally when we were in k Town, I
- 33:54Speaker 2: think it was like fifty six fifty seven miles. And
- 33:58Speaker 2: how long did that take you? Oh? Sometimes it was
- 34:01Speaker 2: two hours plus.
- 34:02Speaker 1: Yeah, that's worth it working here as well for you.
- 34:07Speaker 2: Imagine how unworth it that was. Yeah, for sure.
- 34:10Speaker 1: And there's a terrific story about when I first met Neil.
- 34:14Speaker 1: But I don't think we can do that anymore.
- 34:16Speaker 2: I can't say that word on the air, sir, No.
- 34:18Speaker 1: We really cannot. Okay, we are done, Boys and girls
- 34:22Speaker 1: coming up. Yesterday the House passed that stalled Homeland Security
- 34:28Speaker 1: funding bill and this shutdown, which we forgot. There was
- 34:32Speaker 1: a shutdown that lasted seventy something days. So I'll talk
- 34:37Speaker 1: about that when we come back. This is KFI AM sixty.
- 34:42Speaker 1: You've been listening to the bill handle show. Catch my
- 34:44Speaker 1: Show Monday through Friday six am to nine am, and
- 34:48Speaker 1: anytime on demand on the iHeartRadio app
