- 4:28Speaker 2: You know what time it is.
- 4:30Speaker 3: It is time to start our day with some positive vibes.
- 4:34Speaker 2: It's Toby's morning mindset, and today it comes to us
- 4:37Speaker 2: from Alice Walker. The most common way people give up
- 4:40Speaker 2: their power is by thinking they don't have any Let
- 4:44Speaker 2: me say that again because I know you might have
- 4:46Speaker 2: just missed part of it sitting on two seventy or
- 4:48Speaker 2: maybe sixty six. The most common way people give up
- 4:51Speaker 2: their power is by thinking they don't have any. So
- 4:55Speaker 2: what is Alice Walker trying to say to us? Why
- 4:57Speaker 2: is this important today? Well, Mike my gut tell that
- 5:00Speaker 2: you may not control everything that happens around you. Well,
- 5:03Speaker 2: I don't know that too many of us do. But
- 5:05Speaker 2: if we find that one thing that we can change
- 5:09Speaker 2: that is ours to change, that is your power. And
- 5:13Speaker 2: remember it starts with one. Not to paraphrase Lincoln Park
- 5:16Speaker 2: or anything, but it does start with one. Alice Walker.
- 5:19Speaker 2: The most common way people give up their power is
- 5:21Speaker 2: by thinking they don't have any That is your morning
- 5:24Speaker 2: mindset needed again, You'll find it on Instagram, Facebook, or
- 5:29Speaker 2: you can just reach out to us on the Toby
- 5:30Speaker 2: and chilipage at washfm dot com. But you'd be happy
- 5:32Speaker 2: to send it your way if it spoke to you
- 5:34Speaker 2: and you know somebody who might need it, Like maybe
- 5:36Speaker 2: you just did and hang out for a few minutes.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Because KT and just a.
- 5:41Speaker 3: Bit we have to discuss some of the most bizarre
- 5:45Speaker 3: reason why people have broken up with somebody else.
- 5:48Speaker 4: And oh my gosh, some of these are doozy.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Oh in g this list of reasons why people have
- 5:55Speaker 2: broken up with someone, it'll blow your mind. Toby and
- 5:58Speaker 2: Chilly in the morning. It's ninety seven point one wash
- 6:01Speaker 2: FM crash our producer is in the studio with us,
- 6:04Speaker 2: Kat Harris, who's playing the part of Chiliam R today.
- 6:06Speaker 2: Because this list, like you said a little bit ago,
- 6:09Speaker 2: is just o MG ridiculous. One of the bizarre reasons
- 6:13Speaker 2: that somebody gave for ending a relationship their feet looked weird.
- 6:17Speaker 4: I mean, what did they have like a sixth toe?
- 6:19Speaker 2: Oh KKT, you had to go there with the feet
- 6:21Speaker 2: talk sixth toe would probably be an acceptable reason for
- 6:25Speaker 2: a breakup. It would be so much maybe, But what
- 6:28Speaker 2: if you could save the guy with like a man pedicure?
- 6:31Speaker 4: Would that cost extra? A good point?
- 6:33Speaker 3: I guess it depends on the gnarliness of the feet.
- 6:36Speaker 4: So what else is on this list?
- 6:38Speaker 2: She dumped him because she did not like the way
- 6:41Speaker 2: he chewed gum.
- 6:42Speaker 3: If you are with somebody in there chewing gum and
- 6:44Speaker 3: they're smacking all the time going, it's kind of disturbing.
- 6:49Speaker 3: But what really has me scratching my head on this
- 6:51Speaker 3: list of bizarre reasons for ending a relationship? Somebody actually
- 6:56Speaker 3: took their other person out on a first date to
- 6:59Speaker 3: play bingo.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Great, she just lost all of our listeners from leisure
- 7:03Speaker 2: World Now they love bingo over there. What's the most
- 7:06Speaker 2: ridiculous reason you've ever dumped somebody for their crash?
- 7:10Speaker 4: I dumb somebody because she enjoyed the love Guru.
- 7:13Speaker 3: So you seriously broke up with a girl because she
- 7:15Speaker 3: liked a movie?
- 7:17Speaker 2: Yes I did. That's a Mike Meyer's comedy. It's Mike
- 7:21Speaker 2: Meyer The Wayne's World. It was not Ferty on Crush
- 7:25Speaker 2: Party on tops.
- 7:28Speaker 3: You know I gotta tell you that makes my my
- 7:32Speaker 3: reason for breaking up with somebody sound a lot less ridiculous.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Well it wasn't. Now we need to know.
- 7:37Speaker 4: I broke up with a guy a first date.
- 7:40Speaker 3: I could not go on a second date with him
- 7:41Speaker 3: because of Cilantro. See he said he couldn't eat Cilantro
- 7:45Speaker 3: because it tasted like soap. I am a photie. Cilantro
- 7:48Speaker 3: is life, So no game.
- 7:51Speaker 2: Over party on Cilantro. Ha got the news Top Stories
- 7:57Speaker 2: at the top of the hour. Coming up, Katie, what's up?

- 9:07Speaker 3: has answered the call about how they'll make the economy
- 9:11Speaker 3: work for working people. Top Democrat in the House and

- 9:26Speaker 3: areas of cooperation.
- 9:28Speaker 4: Today's the day.
- 9:29Speaker 3: More than fifty one thousand students are headed back to
- 9:32Speaker 3: the District of Columbia public schools. The district is continuing
- 9:37Speaker 3: to see academic gains, but challenges with attendance and student
- 9:41Speaker 3: proficiency remains. Two more animals have tested positive for rabies
- 9:45Speaker 3: in the DC area. The Charles County Department of Health
- 9:48Speaker 3: announced positive tests for a skunk and a bat on Friday.
- 9:53Speaker 3: Authorities are asking anyone who's encountered the rabid animals to
- 9:57Speaker 3: contact the Health Department. Maryland officials have been closely tracking
- 10:01Speaker 3: rabies cases this summer after several beavers attacked multiple people
- 10:06Speaker 3: in two state parks.
- 10:07Speaker 4: According to a.
- 10:08Speaker 3: New survey, thirty percent of drivers believe no one actually
- 10:11Speaker 3: drives a speed limit. Nearly half believe it's safer to
- 10:16Speaker 3: drive with the flow of traffic than to obey the
- 10:19Speaker 3: speed limit. Now, even though drivers seem to have relaxed
- 10:22Speaker 3: attitudes about speeding, eighty seven percent want more police patrolling
- 10:27Speaker 3: the areas with a history of speed related crashes, and
- 10:31Speaker 3: seventy percent support automatic speed cameras in those locations. Expect
- 10:36Speaker 3: an absolutely gorgeous day, sunshine, highth of eighty five right

- 10:46Speaker 2: up with Toby and Chilly in the morning. It's ninety
- 10:48Speaker 2: seven point one Wash FM. Katie Harris in for Chiliamar today.
- 10:52Speaker 2: There is probably a lot of ugly crying going on
- 10:56Speaker 2: and parts of the DMV today definitely This week for
- 10:59Speaker 2: show is the kids go back to school, so gotta
- 11:04Speaker 2: know are you one of these people that gets very
- 11:06Speaker 2: emotional when these things happen. Back to school, off to kindergarten,
- 11:12Speaker 2: maybe middle school, like Chili's kid college, even let's talk
- 11:16Speaker 2: about eight sixty six, ninet two, seven forty three sixty one. Well,
- 11:20Speaker 2: it makes a lot of sense for us to be
- 11:21Speaker 2: talking about this today because there are so many people
- 11:25Speaker 2: headed back to school, and kids are hopping on school buses,
- 11:29Speaker 2: and if they're not already back in school, they will
- 11:32Speaker 2: be this week. Toby and Chilly in the morning at
- 11:34Speaker 2: ninety seven point one WASHFM, give us a call and
- 11:36Speaker 2: tell us about a time when you were guilty as
- 11:39Speaker 2: charged of doing some ugly crying. Kevin Hartz, the comedian,
- 11:44Speaker 2: and Tim McGraw both say that they've cried when they've
- 11:48Speaker 2: dropped off their kids at school. Did you ugly cry
- 11:51Speaker 2: when your kid went off to school there, Katie Harrison,
- 11:54Speaker 2: I did. I did.
- 11:55Speaker 3: I will remember I remember everything. I remember his outfit,
- 11:59Speaker 3: his lunchboxes, backpack. I remember him standing at the bus
- 12:02Speaker 3: stop and me watching him get on the bus for
- 12:04Speaker 3: the first time. And then as soon as he was
- 12:06Speaker 3: on the bus, I went into my car and I
- 12:08Speaker 3: just cried, Oh.
- 12:09Speaker 4: My baby's growing up.
- 12:12Speaker 2: I ugly cried, like just nobody's ever ugly cried before.
- 12:16Speaker 2: When I was in Boston dropping Kyla off at college.
- 12:20Speaker 2: I can't figure out if I was crying because I
- 12:22Speaker 2: knew that at some point in time the college bills
- 12:25Speaker 2: would come due and I might have to pay for them,
- 12:28Speaker 2: or if I was just really proud of the fact
- 12:30Speaker 2: that she had made it to where she'd made it.
- 12:33Speaker 2: But something about leaving, I think I ugly cried and
- 12:36Speaker 2: was just very quiet for a good hour driving back
- 12:39Speaker 2: from a bust, and it was it was a thing,
- 12:42Speaker 2: you know.
- 12:42Speaker 3: I think that it's only natural, and a lot of
- 12:45Speaker 3: parents go through that, And then, of course later on
- 12:47Speaker 3: in the year, a lot of parents go through the
- 12:48Speaker 3: fact that they start getting happy when the kids go
- 12:51Speaker 3: to school.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Right, that's very true. When summer's over, the parents stop
- 12:56Speaker 2: ugly crying and they're like, yes, But maybe you've gone
- 13:00Speaker 2: through a milestone. Maybe you've known somebody who's done some
- 13:03Speaker 2: ugly crying when they've dropped the kids off at school
- 13:06Speaker 2: or waited with them to get on the bus. What happened?
- 13:09Speaker 2: Tell us all about it? Eight six six, nineteen seven
- 13:12Speaker 2: forty three sixty one. Talking about ugly crying here at
- 13:16Speaker 2: ninety seven point one wash FM, Toby and Chilly in
- 13:18Speaker 2: the Morning at eight sixty six nine two seven forty
- 13:21Speaker 2: three sixty one. This week, if you ugly cry while
- 13:23Speaker 2: you're dropping the kids off at the school or waiting
- 13:26Speaker 2: at the bus stop, it's kind of allowed.
- 13:29Speaker 4: It's okay you can cry. This is an emotional time.
- 13:33Speaker 2: And what was another emotional moment for you? Uh?
- 13:35Speaker 3: The first time I dropped my son off for middle school,
- 13:38Speaker 3: I didn't really ugly cry because I was.
- 13:40Speaker 5: Like, oh, my baby's cruden.
- 13:43Speaker 2: There are so many occasions which as a parent only
- 13:47Speaker 2: you understand when it comes to your little one walking
- 13:50Speaker 2: into school or as you pull away driving away from
- 13:53Speaker 2: school after you drop them off at College Jason and
- 13:56Speaker 2: Tacoma Park. You have a story about somebody who ugly cried?
- 13:59Speaker 2: What's up?
- 14:00Speaker 6: I had a friend and even more surprising because he's
- 14:03Speaker 6: like one of my most sort of like macho friends,
- 14:06Speaker 6: you know, never cries, never shows any feelings about anything
- 14:09Speaker 6: pretty much. But he was telling us all that he
- 14:11Speaker 6: had his twin five year old boys and he dropped
- 14:14Speaker 6: him off for school one day, and he's watched him
- 14:16Speaker 6: walk in from his car and one of the boys
- 14:19Speaker 6: reached out his hand and took his brother's hand, and
- 14:21Speaker 6: as you know, they walked into school hand in hand.
- 14:23Speaker 2: Well, that's got to tell you the heart strings a bit.
- 14:26Speaker 6: He's like, guys, I watched that. I just like totally
- 14:28Speaker 6: burst into tears in my car.
- 14:30Speaker 4: I wonder what the ugly cry sounds like?
- 14:34Speaker 6: Oh my gosh, because he's just like sort of got
- 14:37Speaker 6: like a crazy deep voice. You know, Oh, I can
- 14:40Speaker 6: believe this, you know, something like that.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Yeah, that's so ugly crying. I feel bad about making
- 14:46Speaker 2: fun of him there, Jason, thanks for jumping in. Aaron,
- 14:49Speaker 2: good morning, and thank you for listening in Fairfax.
- 14:52Speaker 3: When my daughter went to kindergarten, I.
- 14:55Speaker 4: Was a mass. I was an ass and you guys
- 14:57Speaker 4: are in loud in county. Yeah, like she, I started
- 15:00Speaker 4: fourth grade and I went home.
- 15:02Speaker 3: I waited to cheer up, and I went home cheered
- 15:04Speaker 3: up a little bit, and then got busy.
- 15:06Speaker 2: With the chores and stuff, trying to keep your mind
- 15:09Speaker 2: off things. Aaron, I see how that goes.
- 15:11Speaker 4: I get it. Now, what does that ugly cry sound like? Wow?
- 15:22Speaker 2: Is that really how we sound when we ugly cry?
- 15:25Speaker 3: Now?
- 15:26Speaker 2: Wow? Aaron, thank you. Eight six six nine two, seven
- 15:30Speaker 2: forty three sixty one is the number if you want
- 15:32Speaker 2: to call an ugly cry for us, we're listening, or
- 15:35Speaker 2: you can just bypass all of that. Tap the talk
- 15:38Speaker 2: back microphone. If you're listening on your irt app, tap it.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Leave your ugly cry and perhaps maybe we'll ugly cry

- 18:10Speaker 3: manage the terrain better. The temporary electric fence will be
- 18:13Speaker 3: used to keep the goats together, and I think that's
- 18:15Speaker 3: not a bad idea. The PlayStation is going to be

- 21:33Speaker 2: on the way for you tomorrow morning with another round
- 21:35Speaker 2: of your nearly impossible question. Were Toby and Chilly in
- 21:38Speaker 2: the Morning be here to play and win right after
- 21:41Speaker 2: seven to ten and stay close because coming up in
- 21:43Speaker 2: just minutes a story that we think might just make
- 21:46Speaker 2: your Monday. And it's a simple story, a story about
- 21:49Speaker 2: fresh food, free food and food that goes straight to
- 21:53Speaker 2: families who need it. Time out for a story that
- 21:56Speaker 2: we think might just make your Monday. Ninety seven one
- 22:00Speaker 2: Wash FM Toby and Chilly in the Morning. It's Kat
- 22:03Speaker 2: Harrison for Chilia mar Today and this story is simple,
- 22:08Speaker 2: fresh food, free and going straight to the families who
- 22:13Speaker 2: need it.
- 22:14Speaker 3: Prince George's County has brought back its free fresh food program. Basically,
- 22:22Speaker 3: they're helping people get that fresh produce to groceries without
- 22:26Speaker 3: adding that one more thing to an already stretched out budget.
- 22:29Speaker 2: And that really matters, because when money is tight, fresh
- 22:33Speaker 2: food is one of the first things that gets harder
- 22:36Speaker 2: to justify, and sometimes families just go without exactly.
- 22:41Speaker 3: Now, basically, what this is doing, it's making those things stretch,
- 22:44Speaker 3: you know, the fruit, the vegetables that's fresh, the stuff
- 22:47Speaker 3: that you actually want your family to eat.
- 22:49Speaker 4: Bottom line, it's not easy.
- 22:51Speaker 2: So this program is back and it puts good food
- 22:55Speaker 2: directly into the hands of the people around Prince George's
- 22:58Speaker 2: County who need it the most.
- 23:00Speaker 3: Now, what I love about it, it's not overthinking it,
- 23:02Speaker 3: it's not a big speech. It's just basically neighbors making
- 23:06Speaker 3: sure neighbors have something fresh to put on their table.
- 23:09Speaker 2: And you gotta love that.
- 23:11Speaker 3: You know, sometimes feeling good on a Monday is knowing
- 23:13Speaker 3: that somebody's grocery bill just got a little bit lighter.
- 23:18Speaker 2: In their kitchen just got a little fuller, and that
- 23:22Speaker 2: should make your Monday. And if you want to read
- 23:25Speaker 2: more about this, you can. We've got this story for
- 23:27Speaker 2: you on the Toby and chilipage at washcheffem dot com.

- 23:35Speaker 2: course would love to shine that light of good on
- 23:39Speaker 2: whatever it is that you feel is bringing some good

- 26:42Speaker 2: All right, we got to settle something this morning. What
- 26:44Speaker 2: is the strangest thing you've ever seen? Somebody put on
- 26:48Speaker 2: a waffle? Now that you've got the news top stories
- 26:51Speaker 2: at the top of the hour, stay there because apparently
- 26:54Speaker 2: syrup and butter are just no longer enough. What have
- 26:58Speaker 2: you seen on a waffle? What was it that made
- 27:02Speaker 2: you go? I thought that the waffle had suffered long enough.
- 27:07Speaker 2: We're gonna talk about it. Eight six, six ninety two
- 27:09Speaker 2: seven forty three sixty one join us as we ease
- 27:13Speaker 2: back into life and the routine on this Monday morning
- 27:17Speaker 2: here at ninety seven point one Wash FM, we're Toby
- 27:20Speaker 2: at Chilly in the morning. We would be remiss to
- 27:24Speaker 2: not point out the fact that today is National Waffle
- 27:27Speaker 2: Day and KT you pointed this out first thing this morning.
- 27:31Speaker 2: What is the strangest thing that you've ever put on
- 27:35Speaker 2: a waffle? Either you've put it on a waffle or
- 27:37Speaker 2: you've seen it put on a waffle.
- 27:39Speaker 3: Now I personally have Okay, Now, first off, I'm gonna
- 27:44Speaker 3: say after Thanksgiving, I love taking leftover stuffing, putting it
- 27:47Speaker 3: in the waffle iron, making stuffing waffles, and topping that
- 27:51Speaker 3: sucker off with turkey and gravy and cranberry sauce.
- 27:54Speaker 4: Do not judge. It is amazing.
- 27:56Speaker 3: However, the craziest thing I've seen I saw a girlfriend
- 28:01Speaker 3: of mine take kimshi and put it inside the waffle
- 28:06Speaker 3: batter and make kimchi waffles with.
- 28:10Speaker 4: Eggs on top. Oh lord, it actually sounded really good. Yeah,
- 28:16Speaker 4: you're like, that's what.
- 28:18Speaker 2: About kimchi in the batter and eggs? No, that's cine,
- 28:23Speaker 2: you know, I guess I I guess I'm pretty much
- 28:26Speaker 2: a traditionalist when it comes to waffles. Like maybe I'll
- 28:30Speaker 2: put you know, chocolate chips in them. Maybe I'll smash
- 28:34Speaker 2: an oreo and put that in the batter. But I
- 28:38Speaker 2: don't really go too far out there, if you know
- 28:42Speaker 2: what I mean. Like, there are people I'm reading about
- 28:44Speaker 2: who have put chili all over a waffle to turn
- 28:47Speaker 2: it into kind of like an edible bowl. There are
- 28:50Speaker 2: people who do sushi style toppings like smoked salmon, avocado, cucumber,
- 28:55Speaker 2: and spicy mayo. I'm like, no nacho toppings, taco case
- 29:00Speaker 2: so jalepenos in sour cream. I shouldn't knock it till
- 29:03Speaker 2: I try it. But no, and a cheeseburger with two
- 29:07Speaker 2: waffles replacing the bun, Okay, maybe I could maybe go
- 29:10Speaker 2: for that. That's just very odd to me.
- 29:14Speaker 4: Not jo waffles is not your favorite.
- 29:17Speaker 2: No no, no, no no no. But if there's some
- 29:21Speaker 2: sort of a topping you put on a waffle, one
- 29:23Speaker 2: that might make people go hmmm, feel free to call
- 29:27Speaker 2: us and tell us all about eight sixty six nine
- 29:29Speaker 2: two seven forty three sixty one, or tap the talkback
- 29:32Speaker 2: microphone if you're signed in listening to us right now
- 29:34Speaker 2: on your iHeart Apple, soybe at Tilly in the morning.
- 29:37Speaker 2: It's ninety seven point one wash FM. On this first
- 29:39Speaker 2: day of school for people in Fairfax and Prince George's
- 29:42Speaker 2: and Montgomery all go tomorrow. What's a sign, Kat Harris
- 29:46Speaker 2: that the routine has returned as it were? When it
- 29:50Speaker 2: comes to going back to school?
- 29:51Speaker 3: Biggest sign is the night before. The night before, you
- 29:55Speaker 3: got to make sure everything's lined up. You got the breakfast,
- 29:58Speaker 3: you make sure the homework and the back is in
- 30:00Speaker 3: the certain spot that you picked out the clothes.
- 30:03Speaker 4: That is very important.
- 30:05Speaker 3: So the night before, a little prep goes a long way, people.
- 30:08Speaker 2: And that explains why I was not, as a parent
- 30:12Speaker 2: very good when it came to back to.
- 30:13Speaker 4: School time and sometimes back to work too.
- 30:16Speaker 2: Toby and Chilly in the morning, it's ninety seven point
- 30:19Speaker 2: one wash CHEFMKT. You just made a really good point.

- 30:26Speaker 3: while the weather is absolutely gorgeous, get to the pool
- 30:29Speaker 3: this week.
- 30:30Speaker 4: People, And by the way, no skinny dipping.
- 30:32Speaker 2: Toby and Chilly in the morning, it's ninety seven point
- 30:34Speaker 2: one WASHFM. Oh, by the way, hang out right around
- 30:37Speaker 2: nine ten you've got a chance at one thousand bucks
- 30:39Speaker 2: plus that trip to our iHeart Radio Music Awards in Vegas.
- 30:44Speaker 2: Bill love to everybody who's got a little one back
- 30:47Speaker 2: in school as we speak right now. Don't cry too

- 31:16Speaker 2: take on this brand new day, in this brand new week.
- 31:19Speaker 2: From Alice Walker, the most common way people give up
- 31:23Speaker 2: their power is by thinking they don't have any. So
