- Lucas: Luna, welcome back to Learn Telugu with Fexingo. Last episode we ordered coffee like pros. Luna: Oh, definitely. I still think about that cold coffee. But today, my mind is on something shiny. Lucas: Shiny? Are we going to a jewellery shop? That's a fun one. Luna: Yes. I want to look at some necklaces. What's the word for necklace in Telugu? Lucas: It's గొలుసు. Let me say it slowly: గొలుసు. Luna: గొలుసు. Got it. So if I want to say, I want a necklace, I say Lucas: Perfect. You said that really well. Luna: Thanks. And it's like what we learned before with coffee, right? Lucas: Exactly. The pattern stays the same. Just swap the item. So at a jewellery shop, you walk up and say Luna: I can picture it. The shopkeeper probably shows me a tray full of necklaces. Now I want to try one on. How do I ask that? Lucas: You can ask That means, may I try this on? That's a mouthful, but I like it. It uses ట్రై, like the English word. Lucas: It does. Telugu borrows that one. Repeat after me: నేను దీన్ని ట్రై చేయవచ్చా? Hmm, the ending చేయవచ్చా is new. Lucas: It's a polite way to ask permission. So you point at a necklace and ask Luna: And hopefully they say yes. Now, after I try it on, I might like it. How do I say, I like this? We learned నచ్చింది before in the context of liking things. I like this. It sounds so natural. Lucas: And the final question, the price. You already know this one from many shops. Luna: ఇది ఎంత? Right? We've used that everywhere. Lucas: Yes. ఇది ఎంత? is your go-to for asking the price of anything. So today's four phrases: Luna: Let me say them all. Lucas: Beautiful. You're ready to shop. Let's do a quick role play. I'll be the shopkeeper. You walk in. Luna: Okay. Lucas: Here you go. This one is nice. Lucas: Of course. Let me help you put it on. Luna: Oh, I love it. Lucas: One thousand rupees. And that's a wrap for today's phrases. Luna: This is why I like Fexingo. It's simple and practical. And we don't have to sit through ads. Lucas: That's true. We keep it ad-free on purpose. If you want to support that choice, there's a link that really helps us keep going. It's buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. Luna: I might get myself a real coffee after this. But for now, let's practice those phrases again, because repetition is your friend. Lucas: Absolutely. Repeat after me: నాకు ఒక గొలుసు కావాలి. Lucas: Perfect. You're ready for a jewellery store. I hope you get a beautiful necklace. Luna: Thanks, Lucas. I'll let you know how it goes. That's it for today. See you next time on Learn Telugu with Fexingo. Lucas: Bye, everyone. Keep practicing.
