- 0:14shore broadcasting live and it led her to a joy. This this is the
- 0:20Sports Shock Show with Wayne Gandy. You men began, you lean up,
- 0:26Dang, can you win me down? Frank me down? That come to
- 0:31come to pet it comes to mark? Is it just I'm gonna do it,
- 0:39big, I'm gonna go on the way you may Pill began. Welcome,
- 0:44Welcome, Welcome. You're listening to the Sports Shock Show. I am
- 0:48the Sportshock Wayne Gandy. Good morning to you, well, good morning to
- 0:53some of us. It's tax day. So everybody didn't wake up in great
- 0:57spirit. Command you Greg in the studio this morning, kind of grumpy Big
- 1:00Kenny unmust the package came through and he's okay, we're paying his taxes this
- 1:07afternoon. He seems to be in good spirit that he came up with with
- 1:12it one more time? Won'tly do it? Do it? Whill won't?
- 1:19Will the flipping dip work one more time? Tax Day? Don't forget you
- 1:26don't want to pay these high interest rates that they will throw on you.
- 1:30You don't get your taxes in. Some people get extensions for various reasons,
- 1:38but get that tax Day. Nobody like that day. Everybody want ice cream
- 1:42Day, Hamburger Day, National, National slap your bosses Day. You know
- 1:49that, you say tax day. They started talking about the Boston Tea Party
- 1:57and stuff like that, went back two hundred and fifty years. Yeah.
- 2:01I don't know why the government just keeps coming down on us like this.
- 2:06The Stamp Act of seventeen seventy four just messed us all up. It's all
- 2:13a scam man. But tax Day is today. The w NBA Draft is
- 2:17tonight. Caitlin Clark, Angel Rees, Camillicadoza, cameraon brink, some of
- 2:23the names of the young ladies that will drift off to the w NBA.
- 2:29Will this be the class with the stardom of Caitlyn Clark. We'll talk about
- 2:34it later in the show. Is her stardom enough to read? Because if
- 2:39you're of the age of the panel here, you do remember there was a
- 2:46window when the w NBA started the Houston team down there that won about four
- 2:54or five championships in a row. It was on fire. It was a
- 3:00nice little league too. Somewhere it faded, but it did start with a
- 3:06lot of commotion. A lot of people was tuned in. I think a
- 3:10lot of it. As I say, the young ladies that made that first
- 3:16league had become more of household names, the sherylf Swoops, the Lisa Leslie's,
- 3:23and they had names, they had built, names that stayed in college
- 3:27four years. So it was able to tune into people. You know,
- 3:31now even in this draft here, you know, like the top four or
- 3:37five names, but then it starts to fade. But you're just hoping those
- 3:40names can build enough energy. But don't always think that the WNBA was something
- 3:47to dismiss. There was that first window where those young ladies were, they
- 3:53were bawling, they were getting a lot of attention winning the Olympics, dominating
- 3:58in those Olympics, and they were able to carry that in and start a
- 4:02league. But that draft is to night as well. Did OJ do it?
- 4:12I know he wrote a book that said if he did it, but
- 4:16it wasn't an admission that he did. But did OJ do it? I
- 4:21throw that out not to knock on the juice who passed away, and we'll
- 4:28talk about it, like just putting it out there now, commands you,
- 4:30big Kenny, so you can have a little couple of minutes to think.
- 4:35Has your idea of what happened your answer to that question changed in the thirty
- 4:44years June will make thirty years from the bronco scene of LA where these murders
- 4:57were supposed to have taken place by OJ. And basically this case, UH
- 5:03catapulted investigative TV into the consciousness of the United States of America, the whole
- 5:15yere. You could have investigative TV. You can make all accusations you can
- 5:23make. You can have the story without evidence. Yes, yes, media
- 5:28used to be more. You had to have the evidence to even get the
- 5:30story going, right, O j ushered in it, UH opinionated TV and
- 5:39well courtroom TV and opinionated journalism. They started, well, I think there
- 5:45were It used to be the right, right, it used to be reporting
- 5:49just facts, and then became allegedly and in my opinion, and I think
- 5:56and the expert witness person became something a source, the source, that's what
- 6:05it was. The source became well, we've been speaking with a source,
- 6:10our source from LA. And this person is you know, dude who lives
- 6:14next to OJ. It's his official title. Our source dude who lives next
- 6:17to OJ. He gave birth to all that and it's still alive thirty years
- 6:20later. Most recently, I think with the Amber Herd Johnny Depp, you
- 6:26can follow it day for day in court. Usually that was never happened before
- 6:30OJ. That did never happen, And OJ is a complicated man. From
- 6:34the stance that it's a three different phases, right, It's the same thing
- 6:44I always talk about when you talk about someone like a Donald Trump. Yes,
- 6:51it's a lot of phases you do. You can't capture it all in
- 6:56what phase we're going to talk about? Which Donald Trump? Name of OJ?
- 7:00Which are we talking about? The football player, the advertised TV guy?
- 7:05It was a football player in the sixties, seventies, right, the
- 7:10eighties, was the ad guy late seventies, early eighties, Yes, yeah,
- 7:15movies he was late seventies, early eighties, was ad guy. Then
- 7:19went to movie legitimate movie star, broadcaster all those times, all of those
- 7:25It was really the eighties. And then in the nineties this came upon him
- 7:30and then he became the most infamous athlete. And then I could think of
- 7:33as far as infamy where his name was talking about uh for not just daily
- 7:43we're talking about even recently is two three years ago. I think they had
- 7:46like a Hulu special special eight part documentary like but now Sports. Also,
- 7:55after the infamy of the Nicole Brown Simpson Ronald Goldman uh tragedy came OJ to
- 8:05kidnapper. Remember he had two separate criminal lives. I mean, not only
- 8:11did he do all this other stuff that became kind of just the farce footnote
- 8:18kind of like eventually we got him, they got on It was like a
- 8:22a letter of the law, is that no one leaves this room. Oh
- 8:26that's kidnapping. Yeah, we finally got it, all right, Look,
- 8:33we take what we could get. People. A lot of people didn't know
- 8:37what he was in jail for. It's just that if he believed that he
- 8:41did the murders, people just was waiting on a moment in his life where
- 8:45he got incarcerated, regardless of what it was. They didn't even care what
- 8:48it was. They didn't care to need to know what. All they knew
- 8:52was OJ was in prison, you said, kidnapping. In their mind,
- 8:56he broke into some castle, grab a young lady, cuffed and blindfolded her
- 9:05off to the forest. But he's observing people burgers with Eli. Yeah,
- 9:11he come to find all. He just told somebody couldn't leave the room.
- 9:15Right, Oh, that's kidnapping. I didn't. I didn't know. I'm
- 9:20sure the gun added an element to it, but didn't nobody know oj went
- 9:26to kidnapping people that that was kidnapping. But it's always when the oj name,
- 9:30it always I'm always trying to find out, has there been another athlete?
- 9:37Is oj the most infamous well known athlete of all time? Can you
- 9:46even think of someone that comes close to an athlete that's known more than him
- 9:54infamous? Oh? No, No, And now that's saying a lot because
- 9:58we're talking about sports and athletes, and we know some some doozies, you
- 10:05know what I mean, there are some outlets. Is there even a storyline
- 10:07that's more? I can't, And I mean the closest might be Oscar for
- 10:13stories, But that's that's the like, that's not bigger, that's like.
- 10:16And I'm saying I think, I think what makes Ojay's story more iconic in
- 10:24its totality is that, at the end of everything, not guilty. And
- 10:31that's what changed at one point, right because I looked at my lawyer like
- 10:39you should rhyme more. You know, you need some bars. I don't
- 10:43know, I don't know what it is you're doing to prepare, but I
- 10:46would get your rhyming skills up. And that was the thing. Not only
- 10:50did it happen, we all have seen infamous athletes and their infamous acts come
- 10:56to a conclusion guilty, guilty, The person got probation. They just now
- 11:01they calmed themselves down. OJ was not guilty, and that sort of gave
- 11:07it a whole brand new level and divided and divided houses, divided families,
- 11:13divide completely the country on the idea of do you think he did it or
- 11:20not? And that's that's why I started that way, because it was a
- 11:24thing, an individual thing. I think a lot of people lied. There
- 11:28were some people who thought he did it that lied based on what group they
- 11:33were in. Oh no, I don't think he did it, and they
- 11:35get another group, Yeah, I think oja. It was those kind of
- 11:37people. They wouldn't just stand on what they really believed. Right. It
- 11:41was about you couldn't just be getting caught out there believing OJ did it.
- 11:46Right. Right now we have Kubaza Hawthorne says, good morning. He doesn't
- 11:52know if OJ did it. He wasn't. There sounds like kind of a
- 11:56confession to me. We got Tony Armstrong, says Ray Ruth. He thought
- 12:01was a big story. Uh, jareded Lloyd says Aaron Hernandez. But still
- 12:07not bigger than OJ. So there are some Again, we have a lot
- 12:11of infamous athletics stories. As the listeners are pointing out, Walter Echo says
- 12:18he felt like OJ didn't do it. He was set up. So if
- 12:22it, if it doesn't fit, you must what was his comment? So
- 12:26again, a lot of infamous stories I'd forgotten about, Ray carw And but
- 12:33it still doesn't seem to have matched OJ. We'll be back with more of
- 12:37the Sports Jock Show right after this. All the impression, wife is she

- 16:26Good morning to you out there and listening Land. The NBA season is
- 16:30over. Regular season is over. The play in starts tomorrow night. We'll
- 16:34talk about that as the show goes on. We left you with O.
- 16:40J. Simpson, The Juice, an iconic figure in our American consciousness,
- 16:47a gentleman that ushered in a lot of things which about the juice and running
- 16:52the football on the field. One of the first men that ever maybe the
- 16:56first man I would have to look it up to rush over two thousand yards
- 17:00in the season. Heisenland Trophy winner, A gentleman with the charisma and looks
- 17:07to sell you all kinds of things back in the eighties. I went on
- 17:15to be all kinds of spokesperson interviewer. Next stage was into what I just
- 17:25looked up the most infamous crime stories of the nineties, and some of them
- 17:32as soon as I clicked on, it's like that did happen? And OJ
- 17:36is in the mix. Some of some of those stories that happened in the
- 17:40nineties. Jeffrey Dama, Wow Murdered Victims was called in nineteen ninety one.
- 17:49Was Jeffrey Dama. Pablo Escobarfefe, my guy escob How many movies have been
- 18:00how many storyline how many lives right wrong, al right in their mind have
- 18:06been shaped by the idea He invented it. He had to have invented it.
- 18:10That's how they talk about him. He invented six degrees of separation.
- 18:14He influenced my life, my blo escoball O J. Simpson. We talked
- 18:19about the I ninety five killer that went on the eighth month killing spree,
- 18:26Malvo. Was it Malvo? Gary ray Bau Oh yeah, oh yeah,
- 18:30okay, it was part of that. The Latin singer Selena was killed by
- 18:36her Yeah, that the president of her in nineteen ninety five. Timothy Vay
- 18:44in the Oklahoma City building explosion. That was wild. So we got some
- 18:49Olympics here in Atlanta in ninety six. Yeah, the OJ just bring back
- 18:56all kind of he's some of the most It's just the nineties, right OJ,
- 19:00somewhere like, Man, I told you, I wasn't that bad.
- 19:03I told you, I told you. Even come on, man, I
- 19:10ain't no Timothy McVeigh, no, nobody, some of them people, yeah,
- 19:15yeah, some of them guys, even Escobar, like come on,
- 19:19man, give me a brain. John B. Nate Ramsey. Ah,
- 19:25that was ninety six, still unsolved, steel unsold six years old. Giovanni
- 19:32vasace I remember that assassinated. See how they're just popping back in your in
- 19:37your hair. Comedian Phil Hartman was murdered by his wife. His wife and
- 19:41then she committed suicide in ninety eight. And then one of the saddest stories
- 19:47that we all shared a part of was the calling by shooting in ninety nine.
- 19:52So those are some of the infamous stories of the nineties that OJ is
- 19:56associated with, which is not necessarily a list you would ever want to be
- 20:04part of in any kind of way. To be in a textbook, you
- 20:11don't even want to be arguing about your place on that list. Man,
- 20:14if they let him be in I ought to be there, ain't no way
- 20:18my story didn't make it. The OJ and that story, just like the
- 20:22rest of those stories. How many interviews movies still today. You wouldn't be
- 20:27surprised to go home, click on something and they're telling you coming June something,
- 20:36June seventeenth, one of them storylines they're about to do another movie and
- 20:41they got so and so to play this character, or breaking news. In
- 20:48their searching through his things, someone said that they found evidence that would shed
- 20:52new light on the Some of that stuff is still on the auction block,
- 20:56Yes it is. They sell different items of things. I don't know why
- 21:00people be wanting to move into the vasace house or but people do they want
- 21:07the shoes or the gloves or the sunglasses? Hey man, this the Cadillac
- 21:12that they found two fingers body in the trunk of I'm gonna get Why would
- 21:18you want the car? That somebody's body was found in the trunk of and
- 21:22people will pay good money for it and didn't want to display it to their
- 21:26friends. Hey have you seen the car? And some of these things with
- 21:29OJ will still come up here as he passes away at seventy six years old
- 21:34prostate cancer. His estate is in question, the lawsuits, the civil lawsuits
- 21:41of how much he will be paying out, different things will still have to
- 21:47be examined and put in place as the juice has passed away. But definitely
- 21:53one of the most unique storylines in our life time to go along with those
- 22:02other stories to imagine and that's our that's our time, the nine McKinny,
- 22:07that's our first time of being grown, grown right and right. And when
- 22:15you think about when when when I think about that time, I think about
- 22:18some of those infamous crimes and how shocked and off put the nation's consciousness was
- 22:29at that time. And I remember, particularly with Columbine, how we had
- 22:33never seen anything like that and had vowed we'll never see anything like this again,
- 22:41and since it has only exponentially increased in this country, and that was
- 22:47that was I think the first mass shooting that we experienced at school with teenagers
- 22:55and since then it is just almost like A and I got and fuse injected
- 23:00into this when I got drafted to the l A. Rams So, which
- 23:07was April thirty years ago, April of ninety four, so I was actually
- 23:14the bronco running around. We were down there and training things like that.
- 23:18So that whole rookie year, everything was just it was O j O j
- 23:25oj. You couldn't keep the You almost broke your VCR. Remember the VCR
- 23:30watching other things look comanchy grady thing? Is that funny? I said,
- 23:33VSR. You know what I'm saying. He thinks that's I think that's that's
- 23:40not that short. But they were showing so much coverage out there, like
- 23:44yeah, you wanted to turn to figure something else. But we talk about
- 23:48it on the other side of break. We'll be back more to Sportstock Show
- 23:51right after this right fus slide basic Limb saying either way we buy the slide,
- 23:56can't let this one slide, don't go away? Or of the Sports
- 24:04Jock Show with Wayne Dan Radios coming up next. Attention homeowners, Now is

- 29:45six, what were they running in you think what would those shoes? Eighteen
- 29:52Dutch dogs like wooden clock Yeah, one twenty eight, twenty twenty four minus
- 30:00one is eighteen ninety six. Yeah, so what did that shoe look like?
- 30:08The Jordan threes. That's what you know already gotten into the game.
- 30:14In the game back then, the homage force. It was something something some
- 30:21hard bome. But then like there's probably like a faction of people like,
- 30:26you know, let's try barefoot. That seems the word comfortable. Oh definitely
- 30:30that was a style. And maybe there was a long time that was a
- 30:33style. I'm sure Maybee. Maybe there's a runner or two and everybody was
- 30:37looking at them crazy, like he's got those soft bottom shoes on, like,
- 30:41look, it's like rubber on his feet. That's that's crazy. It'll
- 30:45never last. And now it's ears. Yeah, so the Boss of Marathon
- 30:55is sweezed right in. After the Masters, which just ended yesterday, Scottie
- 31:02Scheffner winning his second green jacket in three years? Is that correct? I
- 31:07got that Rightott Scheffler, you said what he's don st the world's number one?
- 31:15A lot of things I was reading. Somebody picked up a sign during
- 31:19the match in one of these days to get a shot off. They one
- 31:25of the golfers had to remove a sign. I didn't see that. No,
- 31:29No, is that equivalent? Now? Are we seeing that? What's
- 31:32the equivalent to the NBA getting a fan removed for trash talking? No,
- 31:36not a sign that a fan was holding a sign that was in the ground
- 31:40like a post. Oh like that was like parse four and he wants to
- 31:48know that that's bothering me at one of the top golfer we have to look
- 31:52it up. Doing the break that shambo or somebody decided, man, it's
- 31:56in my way. Manufactured moment. I mean sometimes I think people just do
- 32:01stuff so they can hit themselves be talked about. If it's in you wait
- 32:07a little bit, Kenny, that's golf. That's what if senu way,
- 32:09you gotta play around it. What are you gonna Are you gonna start moving
- 32:13the trees if you can pick it up, Come on, man, that's
- 32:17did they charge him? The stroke for it. We have to look it
- 32:21up. I just thought. I remember I was halfway watching and a highlight
- 32:27and he was walking around with like the par or some sign on his shoulder,
- 32:30moving it out the way. I thought it was something for a commercial
- 32:35at first, but then I found out that it actually happened. I'd like
- 32:37to research that because if I'm wondering, is that something that they discussed and
- 32:42they said okay, move it or he just moved it and then was like,
- 32:45what why y'all tripping? And then Tiger Woods and the thing I saw
- 32:49with Tiger, it's time to it's time, come on, don't say don't
- 33:01say it all surprised victory, moral victories as they say, or for minor
- 33:08league, and it seems that Tiger is just trying to make the cut and
- 33:17finish the tournament, not actually trying to win the tournament. I just want
- 33:23to say I played one more time. I was able to enter a tournament
- 33:29and finish it, make the cut for the weekend, and I finished.
- 33:34That's it. I don't need to see Tiger that way. Nobody does.
- 33:38I don't think I don't need the old I don't need the old image of
- 33:43Muhammad Ali. But I don't need the last him shaking lights, lighting the
- 33:49torch at the lightning about those last early eighty fights that he had. Okay,
- 33:54yeah, you know I don't need that. Well, let let me
- 33:59ask you something. Did you expect anything different out of Tiger? I said
- 34:02this before the Masters started and he declared that he was going to participate.
- 34:06Why is he doing this when we kind of already know based on the past
- 34:10experience, this is not I'm projecting on the Tiger based on what we've seen
- 34:14him do before, we kind of know how this is going to go.
- 34:16We don't want to see him that way. We've proven that already. Why
- 34:21you keep doing this? You're forcing us to watch this? Do you think
- 34:24it's one of those things where like it's the he says it's his favorite tournament
- 34:29to play, so it's a love of the game thing, and the fans
- 34:35want to see him, But it's still because it's Tiger, and from what
- 34:38we've seen, there's still that Like I think a lot of fans just think
- 34:44of a chance and then that doesn't happen. Then it's disappointing. Well then
- 34:50it becomes even more disappointed. I think there's two things to that one is
- 34:54the fans are sometimes being unrealistic. They want to see Tiger is something more
- 35:00than what they are, which is human beings. And then sometimes Tiger might
- 35:02let himself get hyped up. Me myself when I was doing it, one
- 35:07of my best Q Dog moves was the three sixties split, and in my
- 35:14mind, in my mind, I still got it. Commands you, Greg,
- 35:19But when I try to high kneed low back, I know no way
- 35:24I'm gonna be able to do a three sixty split because the knees in the
- 35:29back ain't even acting right. So the spinning around and then going on,
- 35:32no, it's not gonna happen. Tiger know that. That's what I'm saying.
- 35:37We know that. Why we still doing this. The fact that they
- 35:39would even let him get in is just uh. We made his record twenty
- 35:44fourth cut, it went in history. You you're always invited in it.
- 35:51Well, I'm saying, just because you can, don't mean you should.
- 35:55That's all I'm saying. Just because you can't do what did You're saying command
- 36:00with the fans. But I think the fans are going to be there for
- 36:06him just to walk around and the opportunity for them to take a picture.
- 36:08Yeah for him, right, there's that, but then there's still that enough
- 36:13that's like, oh, he's got it, he's got a chance, or
- 36:15just because they think no, no, no, I don't. They know
- 36:22he don't, but it's like, oh, Tiger's going to play. Oh
- 36:23you think he's gonna you think like people still think he has a chance to
- 36:29break the record for the major tournaments that that one that he won in twenty
- 36:35nineteen, that's it and see it. And some people think because he's there
- 36:39that they're still and sports shock when you brought up Ali, I can remember
- 36:44that time. We're from the generation where I'm sitting there with the hopefuls and
- 36:50there some of them are like, come on, Champ, you got this
- 36:52one, Champ. And then there's some other people in the room like,
- 36:54man, I hate to see the champ doing this. Why aren't you just
- 36:59leave? You know, it was obvious when he was stepping in the ring.
- 37:04We're not gonna get the best him, and he looks like he already
- 37:07knows it, and I just would like this even as he walks. Yeah,
- 37:14as you see Tigger walks, you can see in his gait that his
- 37:19legs, his knee is something not right, he doesn't. It's a hitch,
- 37:23yeah, to even his walk. So I'm not this is not just
- 37:27a function of him being forty eight. They have a senior tour. A
- 37:32lot of those guys they just that they've gotten older. They can't hit the
- 37:36ball, but they don't physically look like it's hurting them to walk, to
- 37:40walk or to hit the ball. They just don't got old, right,
- 37:44so they play on the senior tour. He for a last handful of years
- 37:49since that win you're talking about. When I watch him just walk hold a
- 37:52hole, he seems like he's in these focused moments of just trying to get
- 38:00his body to work. Yes, yes, not whether I hit the ball
- 38:06or not. Can I get my body. I'm trying to wheel myself from
- 38:09whole the whole, and I'm ignoring all kinds of pain. Yeah, you
- 38:15could see him like, don't think about the pain. Don't think about the
- 38:17pain. But Scottie Scheffler is your champion once again with his second green jacket.
- 38:24We'll be back more to Sports Jock Show right after this night. It's
- 38:29a different mold. I'm gonna have to make a pan of six so on

- 41:52boy shock wing gamey. Good morning to you. NBA season twenty twenty four
- 41:58regular season is over, of which only means that ten teams are headed home
- 42:06at the moment. Thirty teams twenty make the initial playoff because of the play
- 42:12in now, so ten teams go home, twenty move on to play in
- 42:21start tomorrow night. Being COMANCHI Greg just discussing the Lakers with Lebron. Lebron
- 42:28just finishing his twenty first season twenty years now in a row, he's averaged
- 42:34twenty five points or more. He's on the band the League twenty one,
- 42:38his rookie year, I think he averaged about twenty four points twenty three points.
- 42:43Ever since then, he's averaged twenty five points are more through his career.
- 42:49Still top player on the Lakers team, still one of the top ten
- 42:54players in my opinion. In the NB eight, you guess what was wrong
- 43:01with the Lakers the others And when I said, don't ever show up and
- 43:10in this case this season, when I mean show up, I ain't even
- 43:14talking about show up on the court, they just don't show up. They
- 43:17always on Vanderbilt, Vincent Cam, Reddish, they rotate who is missing the
- 43:24night. Yeah, I know on the side, he just showed up like
- 43:29two games. I forgot. Reddish goes in and out. So anybody that
- 43:35was supposed to really help Lebron out, they're not even in uniform. They
- 43:42were looking like fashion models. So in that case, go ahead, command,
- 43:47I mean, big Kenny, I was. I was triggered. It
- 43:55ain't got nothing to do with le Bron's performance or the play on the court.
- 44:00I still don't understand. How come you ain't got to put something on
- 44:04and say you play for the team, play for the team, you play
- 44:07for the team. You sit in here on the bitch with the team,
- 44:12put some on and say you play for this team. You look like you
- 44:15came to the game and just wandered down to the good seats and decided to
- 44:21have a seat right here. Why you dressed like that? And this is
- 44:24official work business, idiot? What are you doing? Why? Why does
- 44:30the NBA keep allowing that part? And then we talk about the erosion of
- 44:35the game and the lack of participation by some of the key players and how
- 44:37they have to coax them and coddle them and come up with gimmicks and prize
- 44:43giveaways to get them to play more games in the NBA. But then you
- 44:47turn around and you let them do stuff like come in with the Balenciaga Versachi
- 44:53ensemble and taunt people on the sidelines. Why are you even here? Well,
- 45:00you know, I'm one of those people that make me the NBA head
- 45:04coach. I would definitely if it was in my wheel, I would definitely
- 45:08come up with everybody. The twelve people are in one color and the other
- 45:15four or five people that are not playing or in another color. So if
- 45:19the twelve players that are available to me, they grab their yellow. If
- 45:23they're the Laker, right, they're in the yellow right, and the three
- 45:27or four that's not playing the night they're in purple, purple sweat sweats,
- 45:30the same uniform in purple. Yeah, so yeah, I'm one hundred percent
- 45:36behind that. I do you think that they should go Like because of the
- 45:39of the pandemic, the NBA relaxed the dress code for coaches to where they
- 45:45could wear team gear and they pretty much kept that. Do you think they
- 45:50should go back and they relax it for the like the dress code for players
- 45:53as well, do you think they should go back to the coaches y'all wear
- 45:57the suits, and if you are not playing and you're a player, you
- 46:01should at least have a sports jacket. I'm putting them all in or all
- 46:07suits whatever. I'm putting everybody in team gear period period. I think they
- 46:12did that in soccer, where you wear a certain vest if you're not if
- 46:15you're not, Yeah, I'm putting everybody in team gear. And each time
- 46:20I think about it, all I can remember is Lebron with his little cotton
- 46:24two piece, still eating fruit on the bench, and he showed he showed
- 46:30up like, hey, sorry I'm late, guys, but Whole Foods was
- 46:34having a sale with his little bag on his shoulder, and he's, you
- 46:37know, steps over a couple of people and he pulls out his fork and
- 46:42I'm like, fire that dude. I know he's Lebron, but fire that
- 46:45dude right now. I don't understand. And and it seems like each year
- 46:52the play gets worse. The the performance, the entertainment value decreases, and
- 46:59they keep doing stupid stuff. Well, the play ins are set. The
- 47:04Lakers will play the Pelicans, who they beat last night. They will play
- 47:08them Tuesday. Golden State will play Sacramento on Tuesday. Whoever wins the Golden
- 47:17State Sacramento game, we'll move on to play the loser of the Laker Pelican
- 47:27game. Is this the NBA or the Bachelor? Someone's gonna get voted off
- 47:32Tonight on the other side, which is Wednesday night in the East, the
- 47:38Sixers will play the Heat. The loser of that will play the winner of
- 47:45the Hawks Bulls game and that survive or tribal Challenge. Then then the leader
- 47:53of the Bulls Hawks game will have to swim to get their tribal to medallion.
- 48:00So it's interesting to play in a lot of teams and new talent is
- 48:06up and the top of the board, the new players, the new superstars.
- 48:10When you start thinking especially out West, when you say Golden State,
- 48:14the Lakers, even the Pelicans with Zion, you have a lot of big
- 48:19name, huge marketing players that are in the playing and even on the other
- 48:25side with Joelo b being in the those kind of Jimmy Butler, those guys
- 48:30about the mist the playoffs, I wanted to ask, do you think that
- 48:35this is a way for the NBA to keep their notable names visible because sometimes
- 48:43we see in the finals nobody knew that team like Denver, who Denver?
- 48:47Thinking it's all about wins and losses? Did you win enough to get there?
- 48:52These teams did not have that great of seasons. Yeah, I'm saying,
- 48:54but then we create the play in because yeah, yeah, we're gonna
- 49:01remember the play is just a function of the bubble, right, And when
- 49:06they saw that you would tune into the bubble that tournament kind of feel,
- 49:10they just kept it. It was to stop bagging. It was to stop
- 49:14and yeah, so we'll see, Uh, we'll be back more to Sports
- 49:17Jock Show right after this. Yeah, I just took the texts ship the
- 49:22tests, Mama Kim never seen meal kept for the real team. Jn't bowl

- 52:04wing canny. A lot of news this week with the NBA, not just
- 52:09the season ending, but people take an exception to the Allen Iverson statue that
- 52:16was put out at Legends walk up by the practice facility, and I automatically
- 52:25it went over my head because I was looking that Allan Iverson's statue was in
- 52:31the same frame as everyone else's, but everybody kept thinking it was smaller,
- 52:39but it really was not smaller. It was they fashioned each trophy after the
- 52:51individual, how they saw the person play. They had doctor j Duncan.
- 52:57They got Ai in the asover and everybody went crazy. But they were all
- 53:04the same, looked like they were even made by the same company, and
- 53:07his was not necessarily smaller, It just was in a different configuration, and
- 53:15it just why does that kind of stuff like get First of all, AI
- 53:21needs to be happy that AI times have changed to even allow the AI type
- 53:30spirit to be put in front of him to acknowledge him openly because it just
- 53:37happened to be the time changed so he could be in the position and not
- 53:42questioning his game, but usually with his how he played, he would have
- 53:47had to bring a championship. Yes, as well, but I'm happy Ai
- 53:54got a statue. He seems to be happy. I didn't see what was
- 53:59the big buss for for your community, Command Community, but immunity. I
- 54:06think people didn't know about the about the other statues and like how they're all
- 54:13the similar size and they're all lined up together because I remember when I think
- 54:19it was after he passed, but it was when they put up Moses Malone's
- 54:23statue and then I saw all the others. So it was a lot of
- 54:29people realizing like, oh, they're all the same size and people and some
- 54:35people may have mistakenly thought, oh, it's out in front of the stadium
- 54:38and it's not. So it's people jumping out there not having the right information.
- 54:45And it's the Internet. So that's gonna happen every day, Big Kenny,
- 54:52I just co signed with Command you Greg sapt When people of whatever mentality
- 55:00have the ability to make comments in real time about whatever it is they see,
- 55:05you'll get stuff like this. It's not only just the average quote unquote
- 55:09citizen. We've got journalists, We've got news outlets doing these things, taking
- 55:15partial information and creating a story around it. So I just learned that there
- 55:23are other statues. I just learned in this moment since the segment has started,
- 55:29that they're all of similar size. When I saw it without doing any
- 55:32research, I was on some, Wow, that does look kind of small
- 55:37until I learned in context what's going on. Now. The difference between me
- 55:42and other people is I didn't run out on some y'all could do better than
- 55:45that. You owe. AI had an apology. I was like, something
- 55:49that I learned during this show with you sports job, We're gonna let story
- 55:52breathe. I don't know what it is. Maybe they got it out in
- 55:55front of AI's old childhood home or something like that. I'm gonna see what's
- 56:00going on, And now I learned what exactly is the situation. So I'm
- 56:04glad I didn't take offense to it. But most people see the clip or
- 56:10hear the SoundBite, and that is the story for them. You see what
- 56:15they don't need to hear the rest of it. They just hear I'm rooting
- 56:19for the girls. Oh she says she hate men. But the thing that
- 56:24I guess was be wild to me. Why do you think there would be
- 56:28some conspiracy by the seventy six ers to invite Alan Ivison to do this for
- 56:35him and then mock him with something that would be so easily seen to be
- 56:40wrong? Right? Why do you think me, as this Powell billion dollar
- 56:45ball club, would even set myself up for that. I think that that's
- 56:52part of people's allegiance to Ai. They love to see AI as not having
- 56:57been who he could have been in their minds because they were so against him
- 57:01being real, so they gonna punish him one last time. Look, look,
- 57:06they just they always trying to embarrass that man. Stuff like that.
- 57:09Those are some of the things I heard. It may also be in that
- 57:13case it's they're fans of AI and they don't root for the Sixers or know
- 57:19anything about them. They don't know what the practice facility looks like. They
- 57:22don't know that they are these other statues or other players that have been honored
- 57:27before they got to him. It's just they just have the tunnel vision about
- 57:31AI, and so they don't know where the they don't know where the statue
- 57:37is, they don't know that there are others lined up with it and see
- 57:42and then they're looking. I think a lot of people just looking to be
- 57:45insulted by something. And hear you say that, I'm starting to realize that
- 57:50a part of what happens, and I see us doing it too, is
- 57:54we start to just project that those people aren't the majority actually think that most
- 58:00people think like we do as sports fans and put facts together, but they
- 58:06don't ninety eight percent of the people, Oh, some man, they know
- 58:08they could have done better than that. How they gonna treat that man that
- 58:13way? And nobody's doing what you're doing, like sitting back like no,
- 58:16this is this and this, they don't know anything. I've seen it before,
- 58:21but it's a lot of people have seen this. No nobody cares that
- 58:22the Sibblers a story franchise, None of them. We're actually hiring people.
- 58:28There's someone's job to make sure this. So I'm gonna go out here to
- 58:31embarrass a which you almost forget. As much as this pushes AI forward,
- 58:37it pushes me as a Sixers brand full You're still buying the sixers jersey that
- 58:44says Ai on it, So we get a part of this too. So
- 58:49why would I want to hurt my dollar and go create something that now we
- 58:53need to band produce. He here today to answer that question because it would
- 58:57make sense to him why I would mess up my dollar to embarrass somebody.
- 59:01But he's the only one that would probably even try to delve into that frame
- 59:07of mind. But it wouldn't make sense to me either. But people truly
- 59:10believe that they would go through a whole process of organizing a weekend to embarrass
- 59:15this man. Well, the statue isn't as tall because that's not how they
- 59:21erected Ai. They put him in his signature crossover move, yes, which
- 59:27arguably people his crossover was up there with Tim Hardaway where people debated who had
- 59:32the coldest crossover? Was that the one they put him in the position like
- 59:36this? Was that the one that Prince? Was that the one that broke
- 59:39the shine Prince ankles and then he stepped over him after he shot the ball?
- 59:44Was that thats over Tyron Luke? Yeah? Was that that cross?
- 59:46Not that one? It was the other crossover. Okay, we'll be back
- 59:51more A sports shot show right after this normal They're not part of the Capre

- 1:00:15something exciting, life insurance. Three quarters of Americans believe that coverage represents a
- 1:00:21critical piece of financial security, yet only forty nine percent actually have life insurance.
- 1:00:27When I was twenty five, me and my wife were just getting started
- 1:00:29with our family and thought we lived forever. Life Insurance's the last thing on
- 1:00:31my mind. What about you? Will you be leaving benefits or bills?
- 1:00:36When I was forty, with a kid in college and bills piling up,
- 1:00:38I was worried how my family was survived without me. That's what I'm in
- 1:00:40an appointment with the insurance informant. Information gives you power, and life insurance
- 1:00:45gives your family security no matter what stage of life you're in. Now that
- 1:00:49I'm older, I don't worry about whether I leave my family with bills or
- 1:00:52benefits. The answer is easy. Whether you're twenty five or fifty, Whether
- 1:00:55you earn a little or a lot, all you need is the insurance informant
- 1:01:00to help you build a foundation of security, because without you, your family
- 1:01:04will have two options, benefits or bills. Which legacy will you leave behind?

- 1:01:29That's why they're an essential part of every student's education. Encourage your student to

- 1:03:00I'm this one shock wing Canny. Good morning to you out there listening
- 1:03:05land. We have marched halfway through the month of apro. Big news there
- 1:03:10in the first hour. If you missed anything in that first hour, please
- 1:03:14after the show goes off, you can go to iHeartRadio, Deezer, Audible,
- 1:03:20Spotify, Amazon podcasts, or Apple podcasts and catch any of that first
- 1:03:25hour, any of the show. Come at you, Greg, Big Kenny
- 1:03:29in the building this morning, we laughed and joked about tax Day, Get
- 1:03:34out and pay your taxes. WNBA draft is tonight, Indiana Fever. From
- 1:03:40what every and anyone has said, We'll be drafting Caitlin Clark, so now
- 1:03:45it's about who's number two. Will it be Angel Reyese, Camilla Cardoza,
- 1:03:51Alia Edwards, Cameron brink Out of Stanford, any of those young ladies could
- 1:03:57follow Caitlin Clark angel Rees I like how she said, Really it's about not
- 1:04:03just being the first pick, but getting picked for the organization that fits you.
- 1:04:09And that is so key when you talk about getting drafted. You can
- 1:04:15get drafted to an organization that it just didn't fit you. The scheme,
- 1:04:19the people did not go along with how you were trying to move. The
- 1:04:24Master champion Scottie Scheffler, his second green jacket, warned this weekend Tiger I
- 1:04:31had his worst two day experience, but he did make the cut. He
- 1:04:38did make it through the tournament, so we have to give him a moral
- 1:04:42victory for that. The Boston Marathon should be on the way. It's the
- 1:04:46one hundred and twenty eighth edition of the Boston Marathon, twenty six point two
- 1:04:53miles. Hopefully it's not too cold up there. We got to check the
- 1:04:56weather. You never know in Boston. Could be foggy, it snow,
- 1:05:01It's it's only April. It could be very well in the forties. Trying
- 1:05:05to run twenty six miles. The NBA had its final regular season game starting
- 1:05:12tomorrow to play in and then this weekend the playoffs will be said a lot
- 1:05:17of interesting matchups, especially when you talk about out in the West where the
- 1:05:26Clippers are playing. Is it not okay? See they're playing Dallas, Dallas,
- 1:05:33Dallas. That was one of the more intriguing, Like, oh,
- 1:05:35that's a good that could that that sounds like a Western Final and it's a
- 1:05:42third time in five years. Yeah, it sounds like all those superstars and
- 1:05:45I think that's the Western Final because we hear the NBA promoting Lebron so much
- 1:05:53that you get shocked, like why aren't they? I mean, you know,
- 1:05:56Dallas and the Clippers. That is that is that sounds like a Western
- 1:06:00Finals? Like you said, that is excellent matchup, loaded with superstars,
- 1:06:04and nobody's talking about it. Yeah, we will see if everybody shows up.
- 1:06:09And you're talking about a bunch of Hall of famers out there on both
- 1:06:12sides of the ball in that one. What you got coming in the other
- 1:06:18first round matchup the Timberwolves and the Suns. So we've got ant Man,
- 1:06:25kd and Beal and Booker, Karl Anthony Town. So it's a there's a
- 1:06:31lot of star power in that series as well, So I think that's should
- 1:06:35make it interesting with the first round being so star studied. Yeah, it's
- 1:06:40a lot of good matchups, and especially even when you figure very easily you
- 1:06:45could have Denver taken on the Lakers in the first round or the Lakers taking
- 1:06:50on ok S. All the NBA needs, it's the Lakers to make it.
- 1:06:56That's their first thing, whether it's seven or eight, and if they
- 1:07:00can get both of them, if they can get Golden State, no knock
- 1:07:02on you Pelicans and no knock on you Sacramento. But they would rather have
- 1:07:12OKAC play Golden State and Denver play the Lakers in the first round. Let's
- 1:07:17just be honest with you know that too, if you was betting those would
- 1:07:23be if it's just even if it's just one round to get to be able
- 1:07:28to market Gil Chris versus Steph And can the Lakers ever beat Denver? That's
- 1:07:36you know, that's the one thing, whether can they beat Denver doing anything
- 1:07:41at all? And I think that sometimes when we're talking basketball, and that's
- 1:07:46just basketball as a sport, professional basketball, the way it's being marketed.
- 1:07:53Is the NBA has gotten to a point where they almost need those names to
- 1:08:00be there to keep the interest up. There is no just want to see
- 1:08:03great basketball. We want to see these guys that you told us are going
- 1:08:08to go against each other going against each other. Earlier in the show,
- 1:08:12you asked about where you were talking about the WNBA draft and will this class
- 1:08:15be the class that catapults them back into the nation's consciousness. What happens after
- 1:08:21this class? Will they disappear again? If this class doesn't rocket to the
- 1:08:28top like everyone's expect. If this class can't do it, then what will
- 1:08:32so will that be like the announcing of the end of the WNBA. If
- 1:08:36this class comes along and it just fizzles, then surely there isn't any interest
- 1:08:44if we can't get the Caitlyn Clark effect with her arch nemesis from her college
- 1:08:48career all in the same game at the same time, and nobody's watching.
- 1:08:55And that's what I'm saying. Sometimes I hear about the NBA is we got
- 1:08:59great matchup, but they keep hoping that this I mean, you know,
- 1:09:02you got a Zion Williamson and everybody's hoping that somebody else is in there when
- 1:09:06this dude is a phenomenal athlete, but nobody but some of that Big Kenny
- 1:09:12is not the league, it's the player. If you don't want to embrace
- 1:09:17and be right that guy, then it is not gonna manifest because it's not
- 1:09:27just a product of can you give me the twenty seven twenty eight points?
- 1:09:31That's not it. It's the charisma, it's the mannerism, it's the interviews,
- 1:09:36it's all goals along with it, along with the game. But it's
- 1:09:43not just that part where we're gonna markets simple stuff. I always say it
- 1:09:49sounds like you're being old fashioned, but I'm saying them, no, you
- 1:09:54know what Gil Chris out of Shay down there, oka see God take them
- 1:10:00praise off right. I'm telling you that takes you to a certain point.
- 1:10:05What we see the movie before. It's little steps to your game, where
- 1:10:11you travel, who you hang with, that will catapult you. But if
- 1:10:14you're just trying to get in there the one way, then that's where you
- 1:10:17get fastened into a Kyrie. He's phenomenal athlete, but his antics, I
- 1:10:29don't have better word for it at this point lead him to kind of be
- 1:10:32one of them folks. That, you know, cool if he go,
- 1:10:36but you know, even if he does go, after the game is over,
- 1:10:40nobody really wants to get him talking because you're not promoting the good natured
- 1:10:49spirit of the sport. Everything for you is controversial. We're in that era
- 1:10:54where the players don't want they It's kind of like they don't want that kind
- 1:11:00of attention. They want it, but they don't want it like as far
- 1:11:02as on a scale. They want the attention at one level, but they
- 1:11:06don't want it on the level of someone like Lebron or Steph It sounds like
- 1:11:12accountability. I'm saying there's a tension and there's accountability, and usually they would
- 1:11:15go together. We're talking about you because you show up and show out,
- 1:11:20but now we just want to be talked about. We don't want to do
- 1:11:24the whole show. It's at the point where Oklahoma City is the number one
- 1:11:28seed in the West. We don't people. I think there are still people
- 1:11:32who don't know what Shae Gilige Alexander looks like, or the Celtics have the
- 1:11:38best record won sixty four games. We don't think. No one thinks they're
- 1:11:42really gonna win a championship, and it takes us back to what we were
- 1:11:44talking about last week when we were talking about Shae Gilchris Alexander is from Canada,
- 1:11:53right, Dunk is from Slovenia. Slovenia, we all so you know,
- 1:12:01Jokey was from So you're talking about four of the top five players,
- 1:12:05four of you know, six of the top ten players things like that are
- 1:12:12not even from the US, right, So there's still that burial. When
- 1:12:19did we see them play, right, So when they got in the league.
- 1:12:25So it's one of those things. And so it all goes together hopefully,
- 1:12:30but Lebron Steph they still bring that excitement. But now these young guys
- 1:12:35by knocking them off, if you can get okay, see the knock,
- 1:12:40say Golden State out right, then it kind of ushers in like the baton
- 1:12:45is being passed kind of feel. So we will see how it goes.
- 1:12:50First we got these play ins which are Tuesday and Wednesday, and then we
- 1:12:56can start up big on the weekend for the NBA in the play offs.
- 1:13:04Arizona Coyotes. I was reading Comanche when you brought this story. You say
- 1:13:09the hockey team now will be moving to Utah. That is correct, and
- 1:13:14they just found out. Yeah, the team. The front office announced it
- 1:13:18to the team a few days ago. Oh and they just found Oh,
- 1:13:24G Money knows something. Somebody knows something. You mean me moving and you
- 1:13:29just not Oh, somebody knows G Money knows something? How you do that?
- 1:13:32How does that not collusion or criminal investigation? When I'm gonna just move
- 1:13:38a whole professional sports franchise next week? Hey, oh yeah, man,
- 1:13:42something I want to tell y'all. We moving city. Y'all be careful on
- 1:13:46the way home. How did that happen? You find yourself? Okaysee used
- 1:13:50to be the SuperSonics. I said, But don't we need a stadium.
- 1:13:54Don't we need all of that stuff? Don't we have to make a deal
- 1:13:57with the new city. Well, the the owner. It's being sold to
- 1:14:01the owner of the of the Utah Jazz, and he was playing to move
- 1:14:06the team, and eventually enough at the same time there they were trying to
- 1:14:13get a new stadium in Phoenix for the team. And I don't know why
- 1:14:16I'm complain because the Braves did it. They did it overnight. Like Hey,
- 1:14:21I was part of the Rams that moved from LA to Saint Louis.
- 1:14:26We played at Bush Stadium. They converted Bush Stadium, which is where the
- 1:14:30Cardinals play baseball, into football field again because they used to play there before
- 1:14:36they move until the new Dome was built. So we played like the first
- 1:14:41six eight games out on Bush Field, then we moved over to the Dome
- 1:14:45for like the last two or three. So it happens, big Kenny.
- 1:14:51I've seen players get traded overnight, but see the old thing. Sure Red
- 1:15:00that to do. Gotta move on my release day home. This is fame,
- 1:15:08not Cloud. I don't even know what that's about. Watching mouth baby
- 1:15:12got an ego twice the size of a crib. I can never tell it

- 1:21:53okay, so the graduation thing was fake. I didn't realize that.
- 1:21:59Oh Travis didn't graduate. No, it was during a they did a live
- 1:22:03podcast and then at the end of the show. They were given diplomas.
- 1:22:12They did the show at the University of Cincinnati. Okay, so Travis did
- 1:22:15not graduate. It wasn't a show done at his graduation. No, okay,
- 1:22:23well, I said, I thought they were doing the show at his
- 1:22:25graduation. No, it was They got dressed up in the cap and gown
- 1:22:32when given a special certificate by the president by the school president and that's where
- 1:22:39so they already had to beer on the stage or whatever. So let me
- 1:22:44make sure they were at the University of Cincinnati. Yeah, they were doing
- 1:22:47a live podcast show, live podcast, but there was no graduation going on,
- 1:22:51right, And they had the president of the university come out and act
- 1:22:58like he was giving them a certificate. Yes, okay, and they had
- 1:23:02the capin and they put on the cap and gown and everything. I'm the
- 1:23:05boarder directors question. I'm saying, if I'm on if I'm on the border
- 1:23:11regions at the University of Cincinnati, I want to know y'all ain't got nothing
- 1:23:14better to do. I want to see the graduation rates for the actual students
- 1:23:19that got a little that got a lot a lot going on right there.

- 1:27:34show. I'm this war Shock, Wayne Candy, Good morning to you out
- 1:27:39there listening land Nike, who is the sponsor of the US track and field
- 1:27:45uniforms this year, coming under scrutiny, coman you, Greg Big Kenny,
- 1:27:50Nike having to explain why, uh, the uniforms for the lady and a
- 1:28:01lot of people's opinion is very scandalous, some even slamming it as sex.
- 1:28:08As they unveiled their uniforms for the Paris Olympics, I myself, just being
- 1:28:16a neutral party, could not see what the complaint was all about in this
- 1:28:26situation. Comanche. I looked, I looked. They said it was skimpy
- 1:28:30the uniform that Nike had presented for the women, But I could not see
- 1:28:40what the difference in the uniform that they had and what they've been wearing looked
- 1:28:47like. M Now, from what I've seen, the the front of the
- 1:29:02outfit seems to be cut almost as high as the backs like in the traditional
- 1:29:13track and field. It seemed to have a lot of the back cut out,
- 1:29:15but now this almost looks like a one piece bathing suit. Doesn't really
- 1:29:20look running. I could see you swimming in this, but to me,
- 1:29:25and I'm not saying that because it looks like a swimsuit it's sexist. I'm
- 1:29:30just saying that it doesn't remind me of a traditional track and field uniform.
- 1:29:36I rarely am well when I seen the Olympics or when I've seen races.
- 1:29:42I've seen just as many track athletes, especially in the sprinting events, where
- 1:29:48something just as close to this as it's both are revealing. That's what I'm
- 1:29:54saying. I'm not sure what the why die on this particular heel, because
- 1:30:00again, the uniforms that the Olympic athletes have worn in the past, for
- 1:30:06both track and field, for a beach, volleyball, for gymnastics are all
- 1:30:13very very revealing. And I always thought that that was just some of the
- 1:30:18women wear a two piece, yes, and the bottom looks like a bottom
- 1:30:24of a swimsuit, yes, when you watch them run with just a top
- 1:30:30on. So I just didn't grasp what the issue was with the uniform.
- 1:30:38That's why I was asking you two, did you see something different? This
- 1:30:43has been pretty close to what a lot of the ladies have worn in the
- 1:30:47races I've seen, and it made me want to ask you, gentlemen,
- 1:30:50do you think that sometimes what happens is someone comes out in defense of women,
- 1:30:59and then the report or finds a female athlete and ask them how do
- 1:31:02they feel about someone defending them? And they just kind of get caught in
- 1:31:05the What do I say? Do I say, oh, no, I'd
- 1:31:10rather be exploited and objectified, or do you say, oh, yeah,
- 1:31:15this is really horrible when you probably haven't even really seen the outfit yet.
- 1:31:20Do you think some of that is just me fearing not being on the right
- 1:31:26side of the popular opinion, or do you think that these athletes genuinely see
- 1:31:30something wrong with these clothes when they're so similar to what's been worn before.
- 1:31:41I would imagine that the Nike Power Structure made this based on what they had
- 1:31:50been seeing worn on the track, probably what they had been making for college
- 1:31:57athletes the entire track and field season. Correct that, I mean, I
- 1:32:00don't know that the people who was against the women's UNI just wanted to be
- 1:32:08made with the because I kept reading why isn't it like the men's suit that
- 1:32:15they just wanted briefs. Is that what? But I don't know that in
- 1:32:20these uniforms you have to stay with that uniform. Right now, you said
- 1:32:29they have options. Okay, I'm just wondering if if you guys saw the
- 1:32:32uniform and saw another angle different than every time I watched the women, they
- 1:32:39have all their thigh out, especially the sprinters they showed you, So I
- 1:32:46don't know. Just then they get in the block, it'd be like ready
- 1:32:51set go right, they gon go off and go to flying down that track
- 1:32:57right, And I guess these are the people like Kenny that they're hoping do
- 1:33:00not tune in because that's what they see. I just see women getting run
- 1:33:05saying that out loud. He all went to a only fan. I thought
- 1:33:10I was thinking he was one van page. We were still here trying to
- 1:33:14figure out why Nike was slam. But they did come out yesterday and say
- 1:33:17they would revise, and I guess make sure they offer different individuals with uniforms.
- 1:33:26Now, Now does that based on what what activity you're in? I
- 1:33:31and to me that seems like such an almost breach of contract. You've hired
- 1:33:35me to create these uniforms. For this, uh my country's Olympic team.
- 1:33:42And I've done that, and now a couple of players say I don't like
- 1:33:45it. So at whose expense do we have to go back and revamp?
- 1:33:48Oh? I don't. I haven't going on record to hear any players,
- 1:33:51have you? Yeah, everybody was just was uh just fans. Yeah,
- 1:33:58the couple athletes. Okay, here there's an athlete. Let me see if
- 1:34:00I can get her name. Jared Golf, the quarterback of the Detroit Lions,
- 1:34:06says that the media in Detroit they relish in negativity for the Lions racially.
- 1:34:14They only want to write stories from a negative point of view. Command,
- 1:34:18Is that what you bring him to me today? Just the negative view
- 1:34:20of the Lions. Yes, that's that's that's that's been his his perspective,
- 1:34:28that they only care about the negative stuff. Did he give an instant or
- 1:34:32he just not anything, uh specific, But he feels like that's how they've
- 1:34:42always treated at least that's how he's felt he's been treated since he's been there.
- 1:34:45Okay, and we've heard about the Detroit media, especially towards the Lions.
- 1:34:50The Lions has been the most beat up team in that city. Rightfully,
- 1:34:55so from the standpoint of they don't have a championship and used to not
- 1:35:03do it, and they used to have the Wings and the Tigers. Yeah
- 1:35:10they I think Detroit is the only one of the four major sports the Lions
- 1:35:15never won a championship. Uh. And I don't think the Lions ever played
- 1:35:18for Super Bowl, don't I don't think that haven't been to a Super Bowl.
- 1:35:23Yeah, so I guess some of that is part of what goes through
- 1:35:30losing. You're going to get that negative report. And here we are sportshock
- 1:35:33when it comes to the uniforms. American steeplechaser Colleen Quigley, Yes, yes,
- 1:35:39what I'm saying, Champion pole vaulter Katie Moon. So pole vaulting is
- 1:35:45track and field events. Steeple chase track and field events. So and they're
- 1:35:48saying that you can't perform at your highest level. Nobody's around for the steeple
- 1:35:53chase. That the one where you jump over the five yards of water or
- 1:35:56something like that, you run through the water, you're running, you jump
- 1:36:00hurdles, but it's not really jumping hurdles kinds of stuff. But the the
- 1:36:06pole vaulter that's but even that's what I'm saying when I watched pole vaulty and
- 1:36:13high jumping, they typically have on like a two piece kind of suit and
- 1:36:16the bottom is kind of like a bikini bottom or a swim suit, not
- 1:36:20a bikini, but very much so like a two piece. So I couldn't
- 1:36:25tell the difference what that uniform was showing that was different than kind of where
- 1:36:29except it looked like it was a one piece. I thought it was cut
- 1:36:31your ass a little higher in the front, but it's not. It's something
- 1:36:38you'd have to study to see the difference in So command you, Greg,
- 1:36:43did you see it the swim suit, not the swimsuit, the tracksuit?
- 1:36:47Yet I saw it? Gotcha? Yeah? And they said they have they
- 1:36:53have options. So it's like that's one look. So everybody's complaining. Someone
- 1:36:59was complaining the baseball is too slick the other day they can't control the ball.
- 1:37:05I mean, the athletes, they and very sensitive about and and and
- 1:37:12it makes me wonder is this by design or is that just the way sports
- 1:37:16should always be played. I remember I tried to play football, and my
- 1:37:21first football game, I wore a baseball helmet. The coach gave me the
- 1:37:26baseball helmet. This is all the equipment we got. So you see what
- 1:37:29I'm saying. You go your baseball helmet, take your hockey stick, get
- 1:37:32over here on the bench, and we're gonna play this football game. Now
- 1:37:35I can't play. I'm a baseball player, but this baseball that you've given
- 1:37:40me, I don't like the material that you made it with. So what
- 1:37:44now, I need you to go get me a holding base Yeah. Well,
- 1:37:50back in the day, they used to use powder or something or wipe
- 1:37:53their hands off on their their jerseys. I don't know powders too. It's
- 1:37:57too messy. Okay, we'll see. And that's what I'm saying. And
- 1:38:00coaches and coaches are having conversations like that. I knew a guy that said
- 1:38:04that my hands are sweaty, and the coach slapped him and then cut him
- 1:38:08from the team because he didn't want girls on the team. So you know,
- 1:38:12it's a different age. I guess it definitely is. We talked about
- 1:38:15what the baseball uniforms before the season. Yeah, everybody's like examining everything except
- 1:38:23the actual plane. Yeah, you're right, we need perfect conditions. That's
- 1:38:28only happens on It's that why we're twelve Because we don't have the perfect conditions

- 1:42:00The fifty eight year old set record Guinness World Record for holding a plank for
- 1:42:08a woman four hours, thirty minutes, eleven seconds. She was able to
- 1:42:19hold a plank. How long you think you haven't in the plank position?
- 1:42:26I'm I'm I know for a fact, I'm good for about a minute eight
- 1:42:32seconds maxed out planking and now don't don't give you more. I'll give you
- 1:42:40more than that vigaon. No, no, no, I'm saying planking ain't
- 1:42:43easy. No it is not. Planking ain't easy. But I'm saying,
- 1:42:45so you don't have four hours. If I put on The Lord of the
- 1:42:49Rings the Extended Edition, the Extended Edition of the Lord of the Rings,
- 1:42:54I'm not saying that won't help. You can't watch the whole movie in the
- 1:42:58plank position. Probably I'll probably get through the opening do credits like Lord of
- 1:43:04the Rings. Oh that's enough for me. Bro, I won't even get
- 1:43:10to present it by you know you how the movie comes on? Done,
- 1:43:14du du du. They show the studio logo and I'm done, command you.
- 1:43:18I put on the Fellowship of the Rings, the Extended Edition, which
- 1:43:23is like three hours and fifty eight minutes. Can you watch the whole movie
- 1:43:26in the plank position? No? No, So you can't beat her record.
- 1:43:30It's what you're saying. No, she built up to that, like
- 1:43:33I was starting. I struggled to lay on the couch for four hours the
- 1:43:40Lord of Rings. You're asking me to physically hold my body up. No,
- 1:43:45no, woman, this lady, and this is what I'm saying,
- 1:43:47I think she was to stay up the whole movie, stay awake the whole
- 1:43:53movie. Let alone know what I'm saying, People like this, people like
- 1:43:56this. She's fifty years old, again, fifty eight years old. And
- 1:43:59I don't mean to discourage any four or five. I don't mean to discourage
- 1:44:02anyone who wants to be great, But I'm saying, didn't nobody play with
- 1:44:08this girl when she was in elementary school? She ain't had no friends,
- 1:44:11because people who are cool and have friends don't do stuff like this. She's
- 1:44:15fifty eight, though, yeah, which means she's spent like. She got
- 1:44:17twelve grandkids and none of them think she's cool. All of them. All
- 1:44:21of them think that their grandmother is like a prude and just to like,
- 1:44:26you know, polypurebread. So kudos cool, But what how do you build
- 1:44:33up to knowing that you can even plank for four hours? What kind of
- 1:44:38time you got thirty minutes? Eleven second? Come on, man, what
- 1:44:42kind of time you got on your hands? We go down at four hours
- 1:44:45thirty minutes and her husband was thinking, naw, she quit. You know
- 1:44:48what I'm saying, She just keep on blah blah blah blah blah, I
- 1:44:54don't know. Congratulations, you can play as long as you you know,
- 1:44:58to take the drive from here to show Charlotte. And what's she going to
- 1:45:02do with that? I'm saying, see and again it's world record. Now
- 1:45:05she's going tour. She's got some strong ass her cores. It could never
- 1:45:12be questioned, right, I mean she whooped her kids a long time.
- 1:45:15Well, congratulations there, Donald Jeane Wild. What's the longest you think you've
- 1:45:21planked? As long as you've planked, I have no clue. I imagine
- 1:45:30I can give you ten minutes. If we were twelve minutes and we were
- 1:45:38just like trying to hold on, I don't know if these old shoulders can
- 1:45:42hold up. It's more of the shoulders than it is the cores. It's
- 1:45:48a lot, it's a lot. And I know I got the minute because
- 1:45:53when I exercise, that's how I ended with a minute of planking. And
- 1:45:58sometimes I ask myself, why am I doing this? You know what I'm
- 1:46:00saying, like, what is the purpose of blanket trying to keep the core
- 1:46:04whatever, the core strong? All right, you don't keep your core strong,
- 1:46:08I guess I'm saying. I'm just taking people word for I don't know
- 1:46:13if it helped or not. I'm just taking your word for it, Jenta,
- 1:46:15I asked you at the beginning of the show, and it's time to
- 1:46:19reph did o J Simpson the juice? Where are you landing still today,
- 1:46:29thirty years later? Did the juice get loose and do it? Or did
- 1:46:35not? Command you? Greg? I say no, but he knows who
- 1:46:43did No, Big Kenny. I as to the question did he do it?
- 1:46:50Now and I'm still under thirty years later, I'm still no. I
- 1:46:58don't think the juice did it. He knows now we see why he got
- 1:47:00off and and and now see I would say this about a lot of people's
- 1:47:11being disgruntled with the justice system. The justice system is just what we displayed
- 1:47:15in this hypothetical situation. It's cut and dry, yes or no. Is
- 1:47:23he guilty of the murder? No, that's it. But but I think
- 1:47:30that not when we ask you. I'm sure he knows that I asked you
- 1:47:36yes or no? Did he do it? No? Okay, that's it.
- 1:47:40Ran no more questions, and that's the law. Now is it?
- 1:47:44Is it hard to believe that maybe he knew something or maybe I don't think
- 1:47:48it is, But did he do it? We have to go with the
- 1:47:53know and that's the justice system. Don't get mad, tito, it's the
- 1:47:58law. Most people get mad when it's as long as it's not them,
- 1:48:02Yeah, then they can figure it out. If this is them, then
- 1:48:06it's wrong, even if it's gonna be the evidence too, like it's like,
- 1:48:13well, I don't know, that's more right, right, right,
- 1:48:15And see that's what I'm saying. Sometimes the same things make you laugh,
- 1:48:19make you cry. Also, with the OJ case was one of the first
- 1:48:24times, with all of this Court TV, that we had been given the
- 1:48:27whole forensic files breakdowns of how the DNA was matched with the fibers that in
- 1:48:32one in two hundred and sixty three thousands of you know, kind of and
- 1:48:38y'all don't have none of that on him. Like y'all got all of this
- 1:48:41and you know how many parts per million and well, witness right, and
- 1:48:45none of that and none of that is in this case. You said that
- 1:48:49there was gushing tons of blood and you found droplets of blood near OJ,
- 1:48:56but none of them match them. On come on, man, witness old
- 1:49:00murder weapon? No they ever found a murder weapon. No, okay,
- 1:49:04we'll be back more to Sports Jock Show right after this, When did it
- 1:49:08have been something if he had a knife at the kidnapping? Fuck? Damn,
- 1:49:14tupuck damn, that's all these treaming net toupop damn all that's on meat
- 1:49:20better pitching me, Bron Bryan braying new rams butt them to stomach, don't
- 1:49:27go Awayne Boord of the Sports Josh Hill with Wayne Dandy is dumbing up next.

- 1:51:39Now it's time for the school a Board when we put a spin on
- 1:51:43life and sports and how they intermingle on The Sports Jack Show with Wayne Gandy.
- 1:52:02Chuck, I'm getting so I ain't waiting Saw since I was a sane
- 1:52:12apologize if I say anything I don't mean. I mean wait wait to this
- 1:52:17sport shock show. The sport Shock Wayne can t. I was just thinking
- 1:52:21about those at ray carew drama where Ray Caruf did I spent this for eighteen
- 1:52:28years in prison then got out. See's somewhere anonymously living life and no reports.
- 1:52:34At least he's had that much respect to kind of keep hisself out of
- 1:52:38the limelight. But early on we were talking about the OJ thing with Ray
- 1:52:43Caruth and Aaron Hernandez. We know how that went down, and and just
- 1:52:47to imagine two huge cases like that, and they still didn't reach the levels
- 1:52:54of ojuh and what went on with that kind of stuff. And like I
- 1:52:58said, it was like that first and first. Whether it's better or worse,
- 1:53:05more or less, when it's the first, it just it's the beginning.
- 1:53:12So it made it seem like, as we said, it introduced even
- 1:53:16the idea of cameras in the courtroom, right kind of idea. None of
- 1:53:20us had ever really seen a case shown where you could date. It was
- 1:53:25a daily Everybody on both sides gave gas the front, the defense, the
- 1:53:31prosecutor, and all these people came out to write books and go on to
- 1:53:36host TV shows and all kinds of popularity, and seemed like most of them
- 1:53:42was able to. I mean, the Kardashians were spun out of that with
- 1:53:48their dad being part of the trial, and everybody seemed to be able to
- 1:53:54walk away from even doing law, yeah, to making millions and going on
- 1:54:00circuits just to speak off of one case. People that you had never heard
- 1:54:04of became familiar name. So that oj thing was. It was a huge
- 1:54:11and and like I said, just recently, I think Hulu or one of
- 1:54:15those stations a MC somebody's just put out an OJ story the way it really
- 1:54:21happened or something. And I think it's interesting how every time they release one
- 1:54:27of these retellings of the story, they always claim to be telling it more
- 1:54:32accurately than the facts have revealed up to this point, but based on no
- 1:54:39news no news fact, right, no new fact. It's just that now
- 1:54:44we're going to tell you what really happened. It's kind of like what already
- 1:54:46happened, but it's just us telling you so. OJ passing away seventy six.
- 1:54:54Locally here, hip hop producer Rico Wade passed way as well, fifty
- 1:55:00two years old. For any of you that love that outcast Goodie mob,
- 1:55:08Ludacris, a lot of artists right here organized fifty two years old. No
- 1:55:13word of what was the cause of death with Rico Wade. Kobe Bryant wife,
- 1:55:19she gives the Dodgers some of the new Kobe's. Remember there's been like
- 1:55:27two three years there haven't been any Kobe's because of the dispute between the Bryant
- 1:55:32estate and Nike. But it seems to be that the new Kobe's are coming
- 1:55:39back out. Kobe Bryant still one of those interesting cases of someone that society
- 1:55:46seemed to let back in. There's so many big names men and women in
- 1:55:55sports and entertainment and politics that had grievances equal or even in a lot of
- 1:56:02cases less, and we're not let back into society at all. And we
- 1:56:10even joked sometimes about someone like they Chris Brown. Chris Brown did his act
- 1:56:15and it's like he's still in a sense kind of banned from the from the
- 1:56:20main the main stream. They still bring that up. But with Kobe,
- 1:56:26and this has happened even before. It ain't just this, This isn't just
- 1:56:30because of the tragic death. Even before that. He was let back into
- 1:56:38society, so that people can you know, something and relatives going on before
- 1:56:44the tragedy of his passing, he was he was already let back into society
- 1:56:49and in relative short order. Yeah, so it didn't take him no thirty
- 1:56:55years to come back into the social mad And I'm not against Kobe. I'm
- 1:56:59I'm forced to chances of people that really we don't know what on I'm just
- 1:57:04talking about from the speculation that's been slapped on a lot of people, and
- 1:57:10they have been incarcerated or they have never been incarcerated, and still not been
- 1:57:15allowed to live past that moment in time. You know, even you know,
- 1:57:21like a Ray Rice was never let back. They didn't let him back
- 1:57:27in the league. People would want to know, why would even the Ravens
- 1:57:30honor him last season? And we're talking about one of the two or three
- 1:57:35intricate parts of why they won that Super Bowl was ray Rice. Whatever they
- 1:57:42was going to do offensively, they gave it that year. They gave the
- 1:57:44ball to ray Rice. And you know, he produced so but he was
- 1:57:47never let back into society and not just like you said, not just the
- 1:57:54organization, but society as a whole. Like people sort of relegated him to
- 1:57:58remember when he used to be a person, and now we don't treat him
- 1:58:01like that. No more correct almost like you know, plenty tables in here.
- 1:58:06But you said, ray Rice, you must be looking for the other
- 1:58:11party. Yeah, that's another You're looking for a whole new restaurant that's not
- 1:58:15even us. And I'm sitting here with the lady and married to it.
- 1:58:19We're two three kids, beat and cool with it. She's smiling and laughing
- 1:58:24and like, but no, that's how he's been. And meanwhile, Kobe
- 1:58:28at the head table, laughing and smiling, toasting with people. You know
- 1:58:32what I mean, It's amazing just how it works sometimes. But Kobe Bryant
- 1:58:38one of the baddest men to ever do it, and I love I guess
- 1:58:43I'm really applauding that more of that happens sometimes, you know, especially on
- 1:58:47things that you can let people back in society. You can't let Jeffrey Dahmer
- 1:58:51that kind of stuff back in, but you can give if we're supposed to
- 1:58:56be a country. And about second chances, Kobe's a great example and Chris
- 1:59:01Brown Ray Rice are two examples of where people were not let back in.
- 1:59:05And you said that Nike had a problem with Vanessa Brian. What is it
- 1:59:10with Vanessa Brian and her having problems with a lot of people. I think
- 1:59:14she's just always trying to maximize. I think she is trying to seems like
- 1:59:18from the stories you read with which is not bad, she's just making almost
- 1:59:25trying to reshuffle the whole the whole template of the after death COVID hot that's
- 1:59:32going to be handled right right, you know we have all these we have
- 1:59:38these all these contracts while he was living. I want to reshuffle going down
- 1:59:44the road because this is forever. I got these four or five kids and
- 1:59:47all that kind of stuff, So it just seems like she wants to make
- 1:59:50sure they come through her. However, is going going forward. You're going
- 1:59:56forward. She wanted to go through her and we are in no. The
- 2:00:01truth is he will throw yours in the ocean. It's time to wrap things
- 2:00:06up on the Sports June Show with Wayne Denny when You're designed an ocean against
- 2:00:38the Sports Shock testa minute to Vin. We'd like to thank you for tuning
- 2:00:41in to the show today. If you get a chance after we go off
- 2:00:44air, if you missed any other show, go to Apple Podcasts, Amazon
- 2:00:47Podcasts, iHeartRadio, Deezer, Audible, or Spotify and catch the replay.
- 2:00:56Big Kenny command you, Greg, thank you for your contributions to Hey my
- 2:01:00man team Matt Moorehouse College Parents. Matthis former receiver in the NFL is now
- 2:01:06a new head coach. I got a chance to go down there for their
- 2:01:11spring game of this past Saturday. Even got my man Bob Whitfield, being
- 2:01:16the old line coach, trying to turn that program around. They were one
- 2:01:19and nine, so h yeah, that's short work. I mean, you
- 2:01:24get y'all you need the Spoke victories you and you get your nine year contract.
- 2:01:29You can go see Matt well. Congratulations and thank you for the invite
- 2:01:34going into the ocean today. And this is more because I don't want you
- 2:01:39to mess it up for my daughter. One of the best moments in my
- 2:01:44daughter life is when I take her to the Hawk games and in the fourth
- 2:01:49quarter somebody misses to free throw. If you miss two free throws and you're
- 2:01:57on the opposing team, it's free Chick fil A for everybody. And she
- 2:02:02say, for some reason, the free Chick fil A sandwich just tastes better
- 2:02:06than the ones before that. I don't know, but she said, she
- 2:02:10say they taste better. Everything tastes better free. It's free. Oh okay,
- 2:02:14she said, they're delicious. You could taste they're tasting the same.
- 2:02:21It's just well, And that's why I'm throwing this gentleman in the ocean.
- 2:02:27Bobin Mayanovic of the Houston Rockets the Big Center. You might know him.
- 2:02:34He got beat up by John Wick in the movie. But Bobbin decided yesterday
- 2:02:41against the Clippers to help the fans out, he would miss the two free
- 2:02:46throws intentionally. See just to mess the money up Chick fil A somewhere they
- 2:02:53cool with it going on. If you really missed them, you start doing
- 2:02:58it intentionally, then they stopped the advertising. You gotta get it work,
- 2:03:00or you gotta give away fifty free fifty thousand free chicken sandwich. They're gonna
- 2:03:05change the deal. Look at least if you're gonna do it, NBA players,
- 2:03:12don't be looking over to the fans and telling them you got them.
- 2:03:16Yeah, I got y'all, I got youa. He bragged about it and
- 2:03:18everything, even in the post. And now I'm wondering, will I get
- 2:03:23free Chick fil A next year? I doubt it? So Bobin for intentionally
- 2:03:29missing and talking about it, not for helping the fans out, but for
- 2:03:33bragging about missing them. Walk up, clank. How you trying to get
- 2:03:46publicity as you're the secret guy on the inside and you letting everybody knows.
- 2:03:55Hey, look, I'm the dude on the inside. I'm the ringer.
- 2:03:58Don't y'all worry. This is a sure back. The Big Kenny commandin great
- 2:04:01And I just thought about one thing. My daughter never offers to bring me
- 2:04:05the second sandwich because there are two tickets each ticket. Get a sandwich,
- 2:04:15and you ain't seen nay sandwich. I don't ever get a text like that.
- 2:04:18Got a sandwich? Oh you get but away NBA tickets, You got
- 2:04:23it. You don't need no sandwich. We'll see y'all late in the week.
- 2:04:26From the sports talk show Peace
