The family’s wrongful death lawsuit against Delta Chi fraternity members over the 2024 death of University of Missouri student Riley Strain has been fully dismissed, ending a legal battle that accused the fraternity of negligence, failure to act, and abandoning a visibly intoxicated young man who later drowned in Nashville. Despite claims of a duty of care, a judge ruled no special relationship existed between adult fraternity members and Strain, and all remaining claims were dropped in July.
