- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, guys, is Zach and Donald here. We have a
- 0:03Speaker 1: bit of bad news. It was just brought to our
- 0:06Speaker 1: attention that Sam Lloyd, who plays Ted the lawyer on
- 0:11Speaker 1: our show, passed away. And for me, this is this
- 0:15Speaker 1: is really this is this is heartbreaking. Sam was a
- 0:20Speaker 1: very very amazing person and he used to he had
- 0:26Speaker 1: a we talk about it on the podcast, but he
- 0:29Speaker 1: was a part of a band called The Blanks. And
- 0:31Speaker 1: I remember realizing that Sam wasn't just a really funny actor,
- 0:37Speaker 1: but he was also a really talented singer. And I
- 0:41Speaker 1: played basketball with him, and he was a very good
- 0:44Speaker 1: basketball player. And you know, he was also a good friend,
- 0:47Speaker 1: and he was.
- 0:48Speaker 2: The nicest man I think I've ever met. He was
- 0:52Speaker 2: so sweet and kind and just love to laugh. I
- 0:55Speaker 2: mean when you know, he would come on and play
- 0:57Speaker 2: that super nerdy lawyer character, but he would We would
- 0:59Speaker 2: all just crack up so hard with Sam. And interestingly enough,
- 1:04Speaker 2: he was a really good basketball player, right, Donald, Man,
- 1:05Speaker 2: I know.
- 1:06Speaker 3: There's an amazing basketball player. I remember I was.
- 1:09Speaker 1: I used to play in this league called the NBA
- 1:11Speaker 1: Entertainment League. And the only qualification that you needed to
- 1:15Speaker 1: have to be in the NBA Entertainment League was be
- 1:18Speaker 1: in the entertainment industry, and I would try to recruit
- 1:22Speaker 1: Sam every Sunday to play for my team, and he
- 1:27Speaker 1: would say no, because the Patriots are playing and I
- 1:30Speaker 1: can't miss the Patriots play. And I just thought he
- 1:34Speaker 1: would be such like he would be such a he
- 1:37Speaker 1: would be such a secret weapon because nobody would assume
- 1:39Speaker 1: that Sam Lloyd could play basketball that well.
- 1:42Speaker 3: And he was assassin on the court. He was a
- 1:45Speaker 3: killer on the court.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Yeah, And like his character, I know that he found love,
- 1:51Speaker 2: true love later in life and just had a baby.
- 1:55Speaker 2: And he you know, this was caused by a tumor
- 1:57Speaker 2: in his brain and he had been in fighting in
- 2:00Speaker 2: a long time. And I actually saw him within the
- 2:02Speaker 2: last six months or so, and he looked great. He
- 2:05Speaker 2: looked amazing, and I I didn't want to talk about
- 2:08Speaker 2: you know, I stayed, I danced around it because I
- 2:10Speaker 2: didn't want to bring up the subject if he didn't
- 2:11Speaker 2: want to talk about it. And he just looked fully recovered.
- 2:15Speaker 2: And today he finally lost his battle with cancer.
- 2:18Speaker 3: That's it's heartbreaking.
- 2:19Speaker 2: So we we we we love him and and uh
- 2:22Speaker 2: and we know the fans do and uh. So this
- 2:24Speaker 2: is very sad. So if you guys want to contribute
- 2:27Speaker 2: to help his wife and baby, I myself have already
- 2:31Speaker 2: given to it, and Joel is going to uh let
- 2:33Speaker 2: us know if anyone wants the Lincoln go fund me
- 2:35Speaker 2: is a little confusing, so just search Sam Lloyd go
- 2:38Speaker 2: fund me and and you'll find it.
- 2:40Speaker 1: And Joel will also put it in the description of
- 2:42Speaker 1: the episode this week. So we love you Sam, We
- 2:46Speaker 1: love you Sam.
- 2:47Speaker 2: And uh and and and I'm sure anyone listening here
- 2:50Speaker 2: can attest to how hard that fella made us laugh.
- 2:54Speaker 2: And uh and I know for sure that he made
- 2:57Speaker 2: a difference in a lot of people's lives because we
- 2:59Speaker 2: all all need to laugh, and Sam made us laugh.
- 3:02Speaker 2: So now we're gonna switch tones and uh and in
- 3:05Speaker 2: the spirit in honor of Sammy, we were going to
- 3:08Speaker 2: go into episode, So here we go. We just did
- 3:12Speaker 2: a sort of a drinks thing where, like, you know,
- 3:15Speaker 2: nine people get together, you make a special cocktail and
- 3:19Speaker 2: just kind of all shoot the ship over zoom. It
- 3:21Speaker 2: was fun. Wow. Maybe we could do that to Giddy.
- 3:25Speaker 1: I wouldn't I wouldn't mind that at all. You know what,
- 3:27Speaker 1: speaking of drinking, it's come to my attention thanks to
- 3:31Speaker 1: social media that every time I say you know what
- 3:34Speaker 1: I mean, some people online are playing a drinking game
- 3:38Speaker 1: and taking Sure. Yeah, now here's the thing. I listened.
- 3:41Speaker 3: We listened to all the podcasts.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Right do you say you know what I mean? A lot?
- 3:44Speaker 2: I mean, I just that's the way.
- 3:46Speaker 1: How anyone I don't know how anyone can make it
- 3:48Speaker 1: through the podcast without being on the floor drunk?
- 3:53Speaker 2: Dude?
- 3:54Speaker 3: How does that happen?
- 3:55Speaker 2: I think it's because I'm just used to you. That's
- 3:57Speaker 2: just the way you speak. You always say that, or
- 3:59Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying. You know what I'm saying,
- 4:00Speaker 2: right right right.
- 4:01Speaker 3: First of all, I'm sorry, I didn't realize don't.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Mess up, don't mess up their drinking game.
- 4:07Speaker 1: I'm still gonna say that ship, but I can make
- 4:09Speaker 1: it through the podcast. Whoever has made it through the
- 4:11Speaker 1: podcast after saying after me saying you know what I mean,
- 4:15Speaker 1: I'm sorry, but you have a problem, right, and once
- 4:18Speaker 1: quarantine is over, let's address it.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Well, I'm just honored that people are doing drinking games
- 4:23Speaker 2: related to the podcast. That's exciting.
- 4:25Speaker 1: There's no way anyone can make it through this podcast
- 4:28Speaker 1: with me saying you know what I mean without being
- 4:31Speaker 1: so drunk that they can't move anymore.
- 4:32Speaker 2: There's no let's do Let's do an informal count. You
- 4:37Speaker 2: guys how many times he says, you know what I
- 4:38Speaker 2: mean in this episode and then we'll know how drunk
- 4:42Speaker 2: people are going.
- 4:43Speaker 3: To get right on. I like that idea. There's a
- 4:46Speaker 3: lot of that idea.
- 4:47Speaker 1: If you guys aren't playing this game, now's the time
- 4:50Speaker 1: to get on board.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Right every time todays.
- 4:55Speaker 3: Gone to the lie that you.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Used to be let the friendship.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Like the vine of friendship. Never here's to you and
- 5:13Speaker 3: he is to me.
- 5:18Speaker 2: God, we gotta really schedule that full lay miss episode.
- 5:21Speaker 3: I can't wait for the lame app.
- 5:23Speaker 2: I know, and I want to play Eponine and Cosette.
- 5:26Speaker 2: You can be Jeanvert. I want to be GeV Roche.
- 5:32Speaker 3: You want all the major roles.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Good evening, dear Inspector, lovely evening, Mike.
- 5:36Speaker 3: Nobody wants to be Javert. Why does anybody ever want?
- 5:39Speaker 2: I know this man my friends, his name is Spector Javert.
- 5:42Speaker 2: So don't believe a word he says, because none of
- 5:44Speaker 2: it's true. This only goes to show what little people
- 5:48Speaker 2: can do.
- 5:49Speaker 3: Do you hear the people sing?
- 5:52Speaker 2: That's gonna be hard. We're gonna have to do every part.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Dan's gonna have a lot of mixing to do when
- 5:56Speaker 2: we do the Big Back one closer. But let's the
- 6:00Speaker 2: best song in the world. Welcome to Fake Doctors, Real friends, Cantison.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Donald six seven stories.
- 6:07Speaker 2: I'm not sure we made about a bunch of docs
- 6:11Speaker 2: and nurses, said.
- 6:15Speaker 1: He's the stories nets.
- 6:19Speaker 2: So gay As he SIPs his wine, what are we
- 6:31Speaker 2: drinking today? You know, a lot of discussion wine wine, Okay,
- 6:35Speaker 2: a lot of discussion on what will Donald drink today?
- 6:38Speaker 2: Because it's your shoes. Shake it up? You had you
- 6:40Speaker 2: had an orange juice tiki and you had I just
- 6:45Speaker 2: love that in my mind. You're just going through an
- 6:46Speaker 2: empty liquor cabinet and seeing what's left.
- 6:49Speaker 3: You know, I made a supermarket run. I loved. Yeah,
- 6:52Speaker 3: I gloved up.
- 6:53Speaker 1: I'm masked up and you know, got a bunch of
- 6:56Speaker 1: food and some libation for said a Kajon that we
- 7:01Speaker 1: are doing right now. I also, yeah, you know Joe Rogan,
- 7:06Speaker 1: one of his sponsors is Alpha Brain.
- 7:09Speaker 2: What's a brain?
- 7:10Speaker 3: It's like this pill that you take that you know
- 7:13Speaker 3: helps you focus.
- 7:14Speaker 2: So Joe Rogan's marketing worked on you, and you bought it,
- 7:16Speaker 2: and I bought it. So do you feel smarter?
- 7:19Speaker 1: I don't know if I feel smarter, but I'm definitely
- 7:21Speaker 1: more conscious of how many times I'm gonna say you
- 7:23Speaker 1: know what I mean today?
- 7:26Speaker 2: All right, Well, the real test is if you say
- 7:29Speaker 2: you know what I mean or you know what I'm
- 7:30Speaker 2: saying less and Joe Rogan's magical pill is working on you.
- 7:34Speaker 3: It could be a place ball effect or it could
- 7:36Speaker 3: actually be real.
- 7:37Speaker 1: If it is real, Alpha Brain, we would love to
- 7:40Speaker 1: market your product as well.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Oh my god, it's funny. Yeah, I've been. I've been
- 7:45Speaker 2: listening to podcasts more and more since we've been doing
- 7:47Speaker 2: this one, and it's funny hearing all the different things
- 7:49Speaker 2: people sell. And yeah, there's a handful of products. I'm like,
- 7:52Speaker 2: I wanted to try too, because people are like good,
- 7:56Speaker 2: especially since a lot of people like I imagine we
- 7:58Speaker 2: are as we start to do advertising. We've told iHeart
- 8:01Speaker 2: and everyone, we're only gonna want to sell things that
- 8:03Speaker 2: we really like or believe in. And so when like,
- 8:07Speaker 2: you know, Pete Holmes is telling you, like honestly about
- 8:10Speaker 2: this PRODUCTY try and really liked it, I'm like, yeah,
- 8:12Speaker 2: I want to try that, like it's like a genuine testimonial.
- 8:15Speaker 2: And I've been walking around the house and I'm like,
- 8:17Speaker 2: there's things in my house that are so good. I
- 8:20Speaker 2: said to my gal, I said, you know, I could
- 8:23Speaker 2: do an ad for this sponge. This sponge is so good.
- 8:27Speaker 3: You always go back to dishes. Look at you.
- 8:29Speaker 2: I do so many dishes. I don't know what it
- 8:31Speaker 2: is about quarantine, but I do so many dishes. I mean,
- 8:34Speaker 2: does everyone else out there feel like you're doing dishes
- 8:36Speaker 2: for like a quarter of the day. There's so many dishes.
- 8:39Speaker 1: The worst part is is you clean your kitchen only
- 8:43Speaker 1: to cook in it right right away again, you know.
- 8:46Speaker 2: What I mean. My dad told me this story about
- 8:48Speaker 2: he was in the military and he had he was
- 8:50Speaker 2: had dish duty, you know, and he cleaned a pot
- 8:53Speaker 2: that was like, you know that you would literally feed
- 8:56Speaker 2: an army with. It was like, you know, a four
- 8:58Speaker 2: foot pot or something. And he said he spent hours
- 9:01Speaker 2: and he'd finally get all the grime off, and he
- 9:03Speaker 2: finally was so proud of himself. It was like a
- 9:05Speaker 2: giant task. And he'd hang it up on the hook
- 9:08Speaker 2: and just as he hung it up, somebody would take
- 9:10Speaker 2: it off.
- 9:10Speaker 3: And put it back on the stone.
- 9:12Speaker 2: And that's how I feel at my house anyway.
- 9:17Speaker 3: But you're being fed.
- 9:18Speaker 2: I'm being fed very well, and I do feel like
- 9:21Speaker 2: this isn't an ad. But I'm telling you this scrub
- 9:23Speaker 2: Daddy sponge, I could do an ad for it. I
- 9:26Speaker 2: really stand by And when I look at my whole,
- 9:28Speaker 2: my whole palette of tools for cleaning all these pots
- 9:31Speaker 2: and pans, my go to is the scrub Daddy And Coincidentllie,
- 9:35Speaker 2: it's got these buckers should be advertising with us, Joelle
- 9:41Speaker 2: call scrub Daddy. Let's get into this right, Jennay Bonkin
- 9:46Speaker 2: wrote us, Yeah, thanks.
- 9:47Speaker 1: Yes, Thanksgiving episode written by Janay. You went to college with.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Janey went to Northwestern so like me, so we know
- 9:54Speaker 2: that she's very smart. Did you guys go at the
- 9:55Speaker 2: same time we did. I don't think we really knew.
- 9:59Speaker 2: I think we were acquaintances there. I also, you know,
- 10:02Speaker 2: both Carrie Brothers and Josh Rayden went there, and I
- 10:06Speaker 2: knew them as acquaintances.
- 10:08Speaker 3: Well, there are a lot of people that went to Northwestern.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Dude, I know there's a whole Northwestern Hollywood mafia because
- 10:14Speaker 2: they have a very good film and TV program but
- 10:16Speaker 2: it's funny. Two of my best friends went there, and
- 10:20Speaker 2: I was just barely acquaintances with them there, and now
- 10:23Speaker 2: we're as close as close can be with you. You're
- 10:27Speaker 2: the close friend that didn't go to Northwestern.
- 10:29Speaker 3: I love those guys too.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Did you go to the performing arts high School?
- 10:32Speaker 3: By the way, I didn't.
- 10:33Speaker 1: I went to Professional Children's School. Shout out to the
- 10:35Speaker 1: Professional Childrens School.
- 10:37Speaker 2: You know, is that the same high school?
- 10:39Speaker 1: No, I didn't get into the Fame High School. I
- 10:41Speaker 1: auditioned for it, and I try to.
- 10:42Speaker 2: Get picture you dancing on a cab like they do,
- 10:45Speaker 2: like Leroy did in Fame.
- 10:47Speaker 1: I would have loved to have been Lee Roy and
- 10:49Speaker 1: danced on top of a cab in any type of
- 10:53Speaker 1: Fame production. Growing up in New York City and knowing
- 10:59Speaker 1: that the school was right up the block from where
- 11:00Speaker 1: I lived.
- 11:01Speaker 2: So you had an audition and you didn't get in.
- 11:03Speaker 3: I did not get in.
- 11:04Speaker 1: You know, auditioning is tough because it's like one moment
- 11:07Speaker 1: and you got to nail it. And this was you know,
- 11:09Speaker 1: we're all very young, and a lot of people prepared
- 11:11Speaker 1: a lot more than I did, and I thought I
- 11:13Speaker 1: was just gonna get by. I had already worked and
- 11:15Speaker 1: everything like that, and I thought I was going to
- 11:16Speaker 1: get by just on the fact that I was a
- 11:19Speaker 1: working actor already. And I remember really wanting to go
- 11:23Speaker 1: to that school and I didn't get into LaGuardia, and
- 11:26Speaker 1: all my friends got into LaGuardia, which is the Fame
- 11:29Speaker 1: High school in New York. And my mom was like,
- 11:32Speaker 1: there's another school called the Professional Children's School, but it's
- 11:35Speaker 1: a private school, and if you go there, you're going
- 11:38Speaker 1: to have to work and get jobs in New York
- 11:42Speaker 1: to pay for school. And I was like, Oh, that
- 11:46Speaker 1: sounds way more enticing than going and you know, I'd
- 11:49Speaker 1: be a professional already. And so throughout high school I
- 11:53Speaker 1: did commercials and stuff like that.
- 11:55Speaker 3: So you paid for your own so I could pay
- 11:57Speaker 3: for my education.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Yeah, that's interesting. I know, I never heard of someone
- 12:01Speaker 2: who paid for their own high school work.
- 12:02Speaker 3: Well, I was.
- 12:03Speaker 1: I had already been working as an actor, so when
- 12:05Speaker 1: I went to that school, there were a bunch of
- 12:07Speaker 1: kids like me who did that. So, like, you look
- 12:09Speaker 1: at the people that went to that school, it's like
- 12:12Speaker 1: Scarlett Johansson, Malcolm Jamal Warner, I mean pretty much everybody
- 12:16Speaker 1: that was on the Cosby Show, went to that school, McAuley, Culkin,
- 12:19Speaker 1: Sarah Machinelle.
- 12:20Speaker 2: Some of these were you friends with some of these folks.
- 12:22Speaker 3: All of these people, you know.
- 12:24Speaker 1: I remember, I remember when I I didn't know Scarlett
- 12:26Speaker 1: because Sarlett's a lot younger than me. But I you know,
- 12:30Speaker 1: the year I got there, Malcolm Jamal Warner and Tempest
- 12:32Speaker 1: Bloodsoe had just graduated and they were on The Cosby Show.
- 12:37Speaker 1: And I remember Anthony Michael Hall went there and I
- 12:39Speaker 1: thought that was the coolest thing ever because him and
- 12:42Speaker 1: the other kid from Weird Science went there, and that
- 12:44Speaker 1: was one of my favorite.
- 12:45Speaker 2: Movies of all time me too, back in the day.
- 12:47Speaker 3: All right, let's get back to this. So Jeanne went
- 12:50Speaker 3: to college with.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Yes, But I want to talk about one more thing
- 12:53Speaker 2: before that. When you saw Fame and you saw Leroy
- 12:57Speaker 2: Fame the movie, were you like, oh my god, I want.
- 12:59Speaker 4: To be Lee.
- 13:00Speaker 3: No. I was never like, oh my god, I want
- 13:02Speaker 3: to be Leroy.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Because Lero was a dancer and you weren't really a dancer,
- 13:05Speaker 2: although you are.
- 13:06Speaker 3: No, that's not why.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Leroy was a very tough kid dude, and you know,
- 13:11Speaker 1: had a switch blade, had a bunch of knives under
- 13:13Speaker 1: his jacket and stuff like that, like you know what
- 13:15Speaker 1: I mean, And well.
- 13:16Speaker 2: You grew up in Hell's Kitchen, I mean, did you?
- 13:18Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 13:19Speaker 1: Absolutely, I grew up in Hell's Kitchen. And Hell's Kitchen
- 13:21Speaker 1: is a very tough neighborhood, and you know, there are
- 13:25Speaker 1: a lot of other very, very very tough neighborhoods in
- 13:28Speaker 1: New York City. And so I just remember looking back
- 13:31Speaker 1: at Fame and being like, if I could be anybody,
- 13:34Speaker 1: I want to be Bruno because he played the music
- 13:37Speaker 1: and got to hang out with Irene Kara for the
- 13:40Speaker 1: whole movie. They were like tight and best friends because
- 13:43Speaker 1: he had the music and she could sing. And that's
- 13:45Speaker 1: how the song Fame comes about. Where Bruno's dad is
- 13:48Speaker 1: in the middle of the street.
- 13:49Speaker 2: For the children. If you're not following, you need to
- 13:51Speaker 2: watch a very special film called Fame Speaker.
- 13:55Speaker 1: How did he get those speakers to get that loud?
- 13:57Speaker 1: That's what I want to know. In the middle of
- 13:59Speaker 1: where ever you know the school was at the time,
- 14:03Speaker 1: his dad pulls up and Blair's Fame. I'm going to
- 14:08Speaker 1: out of know where people are dancing come out of
- 14:10Speaker 1: the school and are dancing on top of the cab
- 14:13Speaker 1: and on top of all the cars and get this.
- 14:16Speaker 2: I was so young when I saw that movie, and
- 14:17Speaker 2: I was like, this is a real school, like you
- 14:20Speaker 2: can dance in the streets.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Well, I mean I I don't know much about the
- 14:25Speaker 1: school because, as I said, I didn't get in, And
- 14:27Speaker 1: those were one of the reasons why I wanted to
- 14:29Speaker 1: get And I just wanted to break out in the
- 14:30Speaker 1: middle of the song in the cafeteria, just like out
- 14:33Speaker 1: of nowhere, I'm hungry for steak.
- 14:35Speaker 2: And you wanted Debbie Allen to be giving you the monologue.
- 14:38Speaker 3: I got to meet Debbie Allen.
- 14:39Speaker 2: You did Did you do the monologue for you?
- 14:41Speaker 1: She didn't, but she called me Leroy accidentally in the Yes,
- 14:46Speaker 1: Oh my god.
- 14:46Speaker 3: You can check it out. Okay.
- 14:47Speaker 1: So I did this movie called Next Day Air and
- 14:49Speaker 1: it's with me most Steph, Mike Epps, Wood Harris, A
- 14:53Speaker 1: bunch of people are in it, Lauren London, like a
- 14:55Speaker 1: bunch of people are in it, right, And it takes
- 14:57Speaker 1: place in Philadelphia, and I'm a I deliver packages. So
- 15:02Speaker 1: the name of the movie's Next Day Era and the
- 15:04Speaker 1: name of the company in the movie that I worked
- 15:07Speaker 1: for was n DA Right, and the manager of the
- 15:10Speaker 1: company was Debbie Allen, who played my mom, who gave
- 15:15Speaker 1: me the job at the company. Right, my character's mom
- 15:18Speaker 1: following and we're doing the scene and she's, you know,
- 15:22Speaker 1: yelling at me like she did to Leroy all the time.
- 15:27Speaker 1: And in the middle of yelling at me, she goes
- 15:29Speaker 1: lee right, boy, And I was like, what, wow?
- 15:34Speaker 2: I mean, did you think it was an honor? I
- 15:35Speaker 2: would have thought it was an honor.
- 15:36Speaker 1: I was so excited and so happy that I broke
- 15:38Speaker 1: out into song.
- 15:41Speaker 2: What do you start? Where do you start singing?
- 15:42Speaker 3: Fame? I'm gonna live forever. I knew right then and there.
- 15:47Speaker 2: That's incredible. I mean, what an honor?
- 15:49Speaker 3: Yeah, it was amazing. I think it's in the I
- 15:52Speaker 3: think it's in.
- 15:53Speaker 1: If they do the gag reel and the credits like
- 15:56Speaker 1: most movies, like a lot of movies do.
- 15:59Speaker 3: Then it's there, or it might be on the DVD
- 16:03Speaker 3: or whatever it is.
- 16:04Speaker 2: But yeah, out seek out the gag reel of Next
- 16:06Speaker 2: Day air and yet to see Debbie Allen call Donald Leroy?
- 16:10Speaker 3: Yes, best day of my life?
- 16:13Speaker 2: Can we get into the episode? For God's sakes?
- 16:15Speaker 3: Absolutely?
- 16:16Speaker 2: Melitie Keen directed it ality only directed one episode of Scrubs,
- 16:20Speaker 2: but did lots of other shows. Just looking at her
- 16:24Speaker 2: credits on IMDb, she's done many many a show and
- 16:26Speaker 2: had Emmy nominations for La Law and she did a
- 16:30Speaker 2: lot of Glee. But with us, she was only uh
- 16:33Speaker 2: round once.
- 16:35Speaker 3: You know.
- 16:35Speaker 2: The first thing that happens in this episode that is
- 16:37Speaker 2: beautiful is Deontay Gordon at sixteen seconds.
- 16:39Speaker 1: In immediately as you hand him, he hands you a drink.
- 16:43Speaker 1: As a matter of fact, he does as you walk
- 16:45Speaker 1: into a bar. That was also very interesting for me
- 16:49Speaker 1: because around that time I was definitely your best wing
- 16:52Speaker 1: man when it came to going.
- 16:54Speaker 2: Out life talk about real life, because I was nerdy
- 16:57Speaker 2: and had no game and this sous.
- 17:00Speaker 3: I don't know if you had no game, but.
- 17:01Speaker 2: Well I was shyer than you and you were very I.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Just had been I just had been in Hollywood a
- 17:07Speaker 1: little bit longer as a working actor than you had
- 17:10Speaker 1: at that moment, until.
- 17:12Speaker 2: You were very confident. And this scene is definitely in
- 17:16Speaker 2: the spirit of our real lives. But wait before we
- 17:18Speaker 2: get to you chatting up the wing manning for me,
- 17:22Speaker 2: So you guys, at sixteen seconds, the guy who hands
- 17:25Speaker 2: me a beer is Deontay Gordon, and he not only
- 17:28Speaker 2: was he Donald's stand in for the entire run of
- 17:30Speaker 2: the show, but he was a very good friend of ours,
- 17:33Speaker 2: is a good friend of ours, and Donald plays golf
- 17:35Speaker 2: with them still all the time.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Actually, Deontay and I met on Clueless, the television show,
- 17:42Speaker 1: and he wasn't my stand in, but he did background
- 17:44Speaker 1: on that one, and then he went over and was
- 17:45Speaker 1: doing stand in workover on Sabrina the Teenage Witch. And
- 17:48Speaker 1: when I went and did Sabrina the Teenage Witch, he
- 17:52Speaker 1: was my stand in for that, and I had known
- 17:56Speaker 1: him from doing Clueless, and I was like, dude, if
- 17:59Speaker 1: I get anything else else, you're coming with me. And
- 18:01Speaker 1: so he's still he stood in for me for quite
- 18:04Speaker 1: a few So for.
- 18:05Speaker 2: Those of you who don't know, the stand ins are what happens.
- 18:09Speaker 2: We we block out, We do a figure out where
- 18:11Speaker 2: we're going to go and and all where we're all
- 18:13Speaker 2: going to stand and rehearsal and where the cameras are
- 18:14Speaker 2: going to move. They put marks on the ground, and
- 18:17Speaker 2: then while we go off and go to hair makeup
- 18:20Speaker 2: or or do all their learn our lines and do
- 18:23Speaker 2: other stuff, the stand ins stand in our places and
- 18:25Speaker 2: do all the blocking so that the cameramen can light
- 18:28Speaker 2: them and can can practice the camera moves and all
- 18:31Speaker 2: that stuff. And they're supposed to be roughly your skin
- 18:34Speaker 2: tone and roughly your same height. Well, but because Deonte
- 18:37Speaker 2: was Donald's friend, he was standing in for him. But
- 18:39Speaker 2: Deontay literally was so much shorter than Donald that they
- 18:42Speaker 2: built special shoes for him. I don't know how high
- 18:45Speaker 2: those platforms were. Do you remember he would wear them?
- 18:47Speaker 1: Yeah, well, him and JK wore them too, for when
- 18:49Speaker 1: because JK would stand in for Cox and he would
- 18:52Speaker 1: stand in for the janitor. So he had special shoes
- 18:55Speaker 1: for when he had to stand in for the janitor.
- 18:57Speaker 2: Right exactly.
- 18:58Speaker 1: And yeah, and they made it so that was my
- 19:00Speaker 1: height because he's a little bit shorter than I am.
- 19:04Speaker 1: And I remember one night we were filming an episode,
- 19:06Speaker 1: the Christmas episode where he has to run, and they
- 19:09Speaker 1: made him run in those damn shoes, and.
- 19:10Speaker 3: I was like, dude, please don't, please, don't don't die.
- 19:15Speaker 2: Dude, was funny watching those guys in their giant platform.
- 19:19Speaker 1: Boots looking like Frankenstein the Frankenstein shoes. So yeah, so
- 19:23Speaker 1: Deontay Gordon, man, holy cow.
- 19:25Speaker 2: He's a great guy. And you know, the standings, the
- 19:27Speaker 2: standings for all all of our standings for for the
- 19:30Speaker 2: main cast were there all the time, and we became
- 19:33Speaker 2: really good friends with them, and we would go out
- 19:35Speaker 2: to bars with them and we would hang out with them.
- 19:36Speaker 1: And I still hang out with Deontay. He and I
- 19:38Speaker 1: played golf quite a bit.
- 19:40Speaker 2: Yeah, Rabbit do was my standing and we and we
- 19:43Speaker 2: could never find them, so we made up a song.
- 19:45Speaker 2: Do you remember the song? Rab Rabbit do, Rabbit do?
- 19:49Speaker 2: Where's rabbits rabbit rabbit?
- 19:54Speaker 5: Uh?
- 19:54Speaker 3: You know, Deontay was always punctual, so we.
- 19:59Speaker 1: But Scott Harris, who was one of our first a d's,
- 20:03Speaker 1: and Frank Cameron, who's better known as doctor Mickhead. We
- 20:08Speaker 1: all play golf together. Well not right now because we're quarantined.
- 20:12Speaker 1: I hope I didn't say Frank's last name wrong because
- 20:14Speaker 1: I called him Frank Mickhead all the time.
- 20:16Speaker 2: But uh, and call him Frank mckhead to his face.
- 20:19Speaker 3: Absolutely does like that.
- 20:20Speaker 2: Does he like that?
- 20:21Speaker 3: Mckhead is a big deal, dude, mckhead mckckhead.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Does Mickhead get recognized out in the world the people
- 20:26Speaker 2: go mickhead.
- 20:27Speaker 1: When he go I'm sure when he goes to his home.
- 20:30Speaker 1: He's from Canada originally. I bet you they know who
- 20:32Speaker 1: he is in Canada, and I bet you there are
- 20:34Speaker 1: a lot of Scrubs fans if they saw him, they'd
- 20:35Speaker 1: be like, holy shit, that's Mickhead.
- 20:37Speaker 2: I was watching a movie and a Beard Fasse was
- 20:41Speaker 2: prominently featured as a background person.
- 20:43Speaker 3: I was some Skyfall. He's in Skyfall on an airplane. No,
- 20:48Speaker 3: he's on a train.
- 20:50Speaker 2: I think it was a David Fincher movie, one of
- 20:54Speaker 2: the big David Fincher movies. And there's an airplane and
- 20:56Speaker 2: the camera is going into the star whoever it is,
- 20:58Speaker 2: and he goes right by Beard Fuss and I was
- 21:01Speaker 2: I screamed. I was like, Beard Fusse.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it might. I truly believe it might
- 21:05Speaker 1: have been Skyfall. Okay, but uh well yeah, So I
- 21:08Speaker 1: played golf with those guys and we get it in
- 21:11Speaker 1: Mickhead is a really good golfer.
- 21:12Speaker 3: He's and so Scott Harris believe it or not, really, yeah,
- 21:16Speaker 3: and so's and so are you. Deontay. I know you're
- 21:18Speaker 3: listening right now. You're a good golfer too.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Yes, YouTube, Deontay. You know I told everyone in the
- 21:24Speaker 2: audience about lens spiking and how and I happen to
- 21:26Speaker 2: find it at nineteen seconds in there's a guy in
- 21:29Speaker 2: a yellow shirt. You're gonna see it. Bam, right into
- 21:31Speaker 2: the lens bam. The show barely started someone spiking the lens.
- 21:36Speaker 3: Also, yeah, I go ahead, Do you remember what up?
- 21:40Speaker 2: Dough? Yeah? What is that?
- 21:43Speaker 1: I don't know where we start, but we started doing that,
- 21:45Speaker 1: and it was one of those things that we would
- 21:47Speaker 1: do to annoy the crew or maybe even the directors,
- 21:52Speaker 1: where we'd always be like, what up, Doe, And you
- 21:59Speaker 1: do it in.
- 21:59Speaker 3: The episod, So do it right here When I walk
- 22:02Speaker 3: in and you say what up?
- 22:05Speaker 2: I laughed aloud when I go, m Jennifer.
- 22:10Speaker 3: When I see the pretty girl, you're Homer Simpson.
- 22:14Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like it's yeah, it's exactly like that in
- 22:17Speaker 2: might Vo. You're here, Jennifer.
- 22:22Speaker 3: Also fat Albert cast, fat Albert cast, Holy Cow.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Now I don't really know. I know what fat Albert is,
- 22:28Speaker 2: but I never watched it. Did you watch it?
- 22:30Speaker 1: I grew up on fat Albert, fat Albert and the
- 22:32Speaker 1: Brown Hornet that was the so fat Albert was the show.
- 22:37Speaker 1: And inside of the show fat Albert, they would jet
- 22:40Speaker 1: to the clubhouse in the Junkyard to watch the Brown Hornet,
- 22:45Speaker 1: which was another show, but this one's about a superhero. Uh,
- 22:49Speaker 1: and so fat Albert and the gang after they did
- 22:52Speaker 1: like it was like Bill Cobsy was like, not only
- 22:54Speaker 1: is fat Albert gonna be a prominent story on the
- 22:58Speaker 1: Fat Albert Show, but we're gonna introduced another story called, uh,
- 23:02Speaker 1: the Brown Hornet, and the Brown Hornet was a superhero. Obviously,
- 23:07Speaker 1: I used to love fat Albert and the Cosby kids.
- 23:10Speaker 2: What would that? What would what would now? Cosby would do?
- 23:13Speaker 3: How many of the voices he did all of them?
- 23:15Speaker 3: I think all of them. No, I don't know about
- 23:17Speaker 3: all of them, but he did most of them.
- 23:18Speaker 1: I don't know if he did I don't know if
- 23:20Speaker 1: he did Rudy, but he definitely did fat Albert.
- 23:23Speaker 2: Us to your mushmouth and fresh personation.
- 23:26Speaker 3: Bill Cobby definitely did mush Mouth.
- 23:28Speaker 1: Maybe folks are going to the bargain, the basement, mint,
- 23:32Speaker 1: the Bible, maybe the biggest basement.
- 23:34Speaker 2: And what would happen in an episode of fat Albert?
- 23:36Speaker 2: Like what was the premise they would just getting they
- 23:39Speaker 2: went through?
- 23:39Speaker 3: They went through?
- 23:40Speaker 1: Well, yeah, but it was also lessons, you know, what
- 23:45Speaker 1: I mean, you know, regardless of what people might think
- 23:50Speaker 1: of Bill Cosby right now and how they you know,
- 23:52Speaker 1: view him.
- 23:54Speaker 2: About, we don't have to talk about we learned about
- 23:56Speaker 2: blaeopbo Cosby.
- 23:56Speaker 1: But back in the day, educational wise, he was you know,
- 24:01Speaker 1: he educated a lot of young people.
- 24:04Speaker 3: You know, there were picture pages, there was so many things,
- 24:08Speaker 3: so the show was educational for young Absolutely, absolutely. I
- 24:12Speaker 3: love Bill Cosby.
- 24:13Speaker 1: And the one thing was Rudy, if I'm right, if
- 24:17Speaker 1: I remember correctly, Rudy was the one that hung out
- 24:20Speaker 1: with these guys who had a little bit of money.
- 24:22Speaker 3: Already, everybody else is broke except for Rudy.
- 24:25Speaker 1: So when they would go to the junk yard, they
- 24:27Speaker 1: were a junk yard band, right, And so when they
- 24:29Speaker 1: would cut to the junk yard band, Rudy actually had
- 24:31Speaker 1: an electric guitar and he would be jamming with them
- 24:33Speaker 1: while everybody else is playing trash from the junkyard, right.
- 24:37Speaker 2: But were they good on their trash when they play?
- 24:39Speaker 3: Oh yeah, absolutely. I mean, if you ever listened to
- 24:41Speaker 3: Fat Albert.
- 24:42Speaker 2: What did Joelle say?
- 24:44Speaker 1: A lot of voices, but not all. If you ever
- 24:47Speaker 1: watched Fat Albert, the music was always on point. It
- 24:50Speaker 1: was for me, it was really awesome to see brown people,
- 24:53Speaker 1: to see black people on television during you know, the
- 24:56Speaker 1: Smurfs and all of these other shows where it wasn't
- 25:00Speaker 1: you couldn't see.
- 25:00Speaker 2: That right exactly. And then they made a movie, a
- 25:03Speaker 2: live action movie with Keenan. Yes, I never saw it.
- 25:06Speaker 2: I mean, I think Keenan's fucking hilarious, but I never see.
- 25:09Speaker 1: They had a lot of very talented, very funny, very
- 25:13Speaker 1: very funny people in that movie.
- 25:16Speaker 2: Yeah, Keenan hilarious. You know, he was in my film
- 25:20Speaker 2: Going in Style, and he came in in one day
- 25:23Speaker 2: and his scene was to just he's supposed to be,
- 25:25Speaker 2: you know, disciplining if you will. He's a store manager
- 25:29Speaker 2: that's caught Morgan Freeman, Michael Kaine and Alan Arkins shoplifting
- 25:33Speaker 2: in his grocery store, and he came in and just
- 25:37Speaker 2: it was so funny the shit he was doing. And
- 25:39Speaker 2: then at a certain point I had this idea like,
- 25:41Speaker 2: I'll bet if we talk about stand ins. I bet
- 25:43Speaker 2: if we bring in the stand ins for these three
- 25:46Speaker 2: guys who are so intimidating, when I put the cameras
- 25:49Speaker 2: on Keenan, he'll be even more free to just go nuts.
- 25:53Speaker 2: So I pulled the legends out and put in their standings.
- 25:56Speaker 2: We shot over their shoulders, and Keenan was just now
- 25:59Speaker 2: that he wasn't like like anyone would be intimidated by
- 26:01Speaker 2: Michael K. Morgan Freeman.
- 26:02Speaker 1: I don't think he was intimidated by them, but he
- 26:04Speaker 1: definitely doesn't want to hurt their feelings.
- 26:06Speaker 2: Intimidating maybe the wrong word, but you know what I mean. Like,
- 26:09Speaker 2: I personally, if I was the actor, would feel way
- 26:11Speaker 2: more free to riff if I'm talking to Morgan Freeman's
- 26:14Speaker 2: stand in, and I'm not, like you know, in my
- 26:15Speaker 2: head about it. And so my point is he came
- 26:18Speaker 2: up with the funniest shit, and I put.
- 26:20Speaker 3: Keenan is amazing. I've known him since we were really young.
- 26:23Speaker 1: He might have been a teenager when I was like
- 26:25Speaker 1: in my early twenties and I moved out to Los
- 26:28Speaker 1: Angeles and I was doing Clueless, the television show, and
- 26:31Speaker 1: he was doing all that, and you know, it's it's
- 26:35Speaker 1: really interesting when you when you meet people and then
- 26:38Speaker 1: they wind up being on the one of the funniest
- 26:41Speaker 1: shows in the history of shows, you know what I mean.
- 26:43Speaker 1: We've been fortunate enough to know quite a few people,
- 26:46Speaker 1: you know what I mean. And Keenan's one of those
- 26:48Speaker 1: people that you know, when we were younger, you knew
- 26:50Speaker 1: that he was going to be I didn't know he
- 26:53Speaker 1: was going to be on Saturnight Live, but I knew
- 26:55Speaker 1: he was always going to be working in this.
- 26:57Speaker 3: Industry because he was always funny. He's so talented.
- 27:01Speaker 2: Yeah, he's one of those people I just root for.
- 27:03Speaker 2: I love I love that he's done so well and uh,
- 27:06Speaker 2: he fucking kills men and crushes.
- 27:09Speaker 3: He is a comedic genius.
- 27:19Speaker 2: So Sarah Chalk is, I'm I've I've got an appendicitis
- 27:23Speaker 2: and Sarah Chalk is touching my body. There's there's not
- 27:26Speaker 2: that much sexual tension really between us yet. I'm finding
- 27:29Speaker 2: although I do. I do at the end of the
- 27:31Speaker 2: episode reference that you know, I have feelings for her.
- 27:34Speaker 2: But it's interesting that that it feels like Bill turned down,
- 27:40Speaker 2: like any sexual tension at this point. You know, you
- 27:44Speaker 2: know he was gonna have Jdgo Dad a bunch of
- 27:46Speaker 2: other women. But Sarah doesn't seem sort of jealous that
- 27:51Speaker 2: I that you you tell her that I was, you know,
- 27:53Speaker 2: flirting with some girl or you know that, and then
- 27:56Speaker 2: when she's you know, examining me and I'm naked. We
- 27:59Speaker 2: just go right to all jokes of you know, the
- 28:01Speaker 2: freezing cold.
- 28:02Speaker 1: She is right, speaking of freezing cold. How long did
- 28:04Speaker 1: it take to put that ice makeup on dude?
- 28:05Speaker 2: Forever man? And I noticed I have two of those
- 28:07Speaker 2: in this episode, two full body makeup things, and they
- 28:11Speaker 2: would take like a half They would take hours and
- 28:13Speaker 2: hours to do, and it would look great. Though, didn't
- 28:15Speaker 2: it that it did?
- 28:16Speaker 3: It looked really cool.
- 28:17Speaker 2: I did a great job. But I think Sarah this
- 28:19Speaker 2: came from Sarah genuinely having freezing hands, right.
- 28:21Speaker 1: I wrote that down. She truly has cold hands. If
- 28:24Speaker 1: I remember correctly, her hands are always freezing.
- 28:27Speaker 3: She runs cold.
- 28:28Speaker 2: I don't think her blood reaches her extremities. I think
- 28:33Speaker 2: her hands are like blue.
- 28:36Speaker 3: I wouldn't be You might be right, they might always
- 28:38Speaker 3: be blue. They might always be blue.
- 28:41Speaker 2: No, I just remember I did. Sorry. I just want
- 28:43Speaker 2: to say that this is like, you know, Bill would
- 28:44Speaker 2: take things from our real lives, like I'm sure Donald
- 28:47Speaker 2: and I going out to the club and Sarah having
- 28:50Speaker 2: ice cold hands, like but when I when I when
- 28:52Speaker 2: I saw this, I was like, I'm pretty sure as
- 28:53Speaker 2: I remember Sarah had freezing hands.
- 28:55Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, absolutely.
- 28:57Speaker 1: This is also the episode where it feels like Bill
- 29:00Speaker 1: realized somewhere along the line that Ken Jenkins is a
- 29:03Speaker 1: comedic genius. Amazing because now he's starting to really stretch
- 29:07Speaker 1: his comedic skills. Yeah, You're seeing a lot of funny
- 29:10Speaker 1: jokes from Ken throughout the show.
- 29:12Speaker 4: Ye.
- 29:13Speaker 2: Ken's got a big part in this episode, and I
- 29:14Speaker 2: thought he was very, very funny. And I just.
- 29:19Speaker 1: I didn't recall Cox's mentor coming in. I didn't remember
- 29:23Speaker 1: that storyline at all.
- 29:25Speaker 2: It's the only time I can remember in nine years
- 29:27Speaker 2: where he has a mentor that he's trying to impress.
- 29:30Speaker 2: So much of this show is he's our mentor and
- 29:32Speaker 2: we're all trying to live on to his expectations. Yeah.
- 29:35Speaker 2: And I was struck as we were watching and going, oh,
- 29:38Speaker 2: this is early on and we're seeing someone that he's
- 29:41Speaker 2: so bad. And we did that fantasy where he's doing
- 29:43Speaker 2: all these gymnastic flips, yeah, which Johnny probably could do,
- 29:46Speaker 2: although I'm sure that was a stunt double. But Johnny's
- 29:48Speaker 2: the kind of guy like, give me a week, I
- 29:50Speaker 2: got it, and his baseball fields out there doing flips.
- 29:56Speaker 1: Right, he actually wears a baseball jersey in this episode
- 30:01Speaker 1: for the whole episode?
- 30:02Speaker 2: What is that jersey?
- 30:03Speaker 3: Did you know? I have no idea.
- 30:04Speaker 1: That's a question we should ask Bill right now, Bill,
- 30:06Speaker 1: what is that jersey?
- 30:08Speaker 3: Joe?
- 30:08Speaker 2: Well, can you ask Uncle Bill? What the heck was
- 30:11Speaker 2: the thinking behind the random baseball jersey that Johnny C
- 30:15Speaker 2: wears throughout this episode?
- 30:17Speaker 5: Man, I don't know what that jersey was. Johnny C
- 30:20Speaker 5: changed his jerseys all the time. He rarely asked permission.
- 30:25Speaker 5: It was always for some athlete or team that he liked.
- 30:28Speaker 5: For it was Jeremy Shockey for a second, and then
- 30:30Speaker 5: it was Chris Chellio, who I believe is a close
- 30:33Speaker 5: friend of his. But I just kind of let Johnny
- 30:36Speaker 5: own his character. And I'm calling him Johnny because he
- 30:39Speaker 5: calls me Billy. I think it's turnabout's fair play.
- 30:42Speaker 3: Very interesting.
- 30:43Speaker 1: Also, you know, Bill tells a story about how the
- 30:45Speaker 1: show is written about him and his best friend and
- 30:48Speaker 1: how he thought it would be one of the most
- 30:51Speaker 1: scariest experiences of his life, waking up from surgery and
- 30:57Speaker 1: his best friend standing over him, who he's you know,
- 31:00Speaker 1: drank beers and has blacked out, has gotten blacked out
- 31:03Speaker 1: drunk with Yeah, it's now coming to fruition right now,
- 31:07Speaker 1: right now?
- 31:07Speaker 2: You know you're right? Yeah, he always he always mentioned that,
- 31:10Speaker 2: and so it didn't take him long to make that
- 31:12Speaker 2: a storyline, which leads to probably one of the greatest
- 31:15Speaker 2: exchanges in Scrubs history that's in this episode, which is
- 31:18Speaker 2: should we recreate it for everybody?
- 31:20Speaker 1: I get to cut, I get to know what we
- 31:23Speaker 1: do that you tell me what it is so we
- 31:26Speaker 1: can at nineteen fifty five, I want you inside of me.
- 31:31Speaker 2: I want to be the one.
- 31:32Speaker 3: Inside I want to be the one inside of you.
- 31:34Speaker 2: If I ever have surgery again, I want you to
- 31:37Speaker 2: be the one inside of me.
- 31:39Speaker 3: I want to be the one inside.
- 31:40Speaker 1: Of me, and which leads to which leads to He's
- 31:49Speaker 1: the only one who's ever been inside of me.
- 31:53Speaker 2: But by the way, the funniest part of that, dude,
- 31:55Speaker 2: is that the geniusness of keeping that fat Albert fat
- 31:58Speaker 2: Albert runner going and then it to them and you're
- 32:01Speaker 2: in there and everyone's laughing, and then they stopped cold, right.
- 32:03Speaker 3: Paula's like, what what did you say?
- 32:08Speaker 2: That was really clever to then go to a third
- 32:11Speaker 2: time to the fat Albert cast and have everyone just
- 32:13Speaker 2: be laughing and then stop.
- 32:14Speaker 1: Randall Winston plays the one with the giant mask on
- 32:20Speaker 1: his face.
- 32:20Speaker 2: Oh really? Who was our one of our producers who
- 32:24Speaker 2: we told you always played death because he was very tall?
- 32:26Speaker 2: And there he is showing up again as one of
- 32:29Speaker 2: the fact. Would you remember that character's name.
- 32:31Speaker 3: The Cosby Kids.
- 32:32Speaker 1: Oh man, there was Yuckmouth, Rudy Russell, Bill, Dumb Donald,
- 32:39Speaker 1: which was the I hated that character.
- 32:40Speaker 2: And did people Did people call you dumb Donald?
- 32:42Speaker 1: So, thank goodness, no, but there was dumb Donald, Bucky,
- 32:47Speaker 1: weird Harold something like that, Weird Harold.
- 32:49Speaker 2: Yes, oh, Joel's pointing at you, Weird Harold.
- 32:53Speaker 3: I remember.
- 32:55Speaker 2: Weird Ass is the guy who wears the mask.
- 32:57Speaker 3: Yes?
- 32:58Speaker 2: Was it ever explained why he wears a mask?
- 33:00Speaker 3: No?
- 33:00Speaker 1: I might have been. I don't remember. We'd have to
- 33:02Speaker 1: go back and look at it at that show. Okay,
- 33:05Speaker 1: but uh yeah, that's who is it, weird Harold?
- 33:07Speaker 3: Am I right?
- 33:08Speaker 4: So dumb Donald is the one with the hat. Weird
- 33:10Speaker 4: Harold is a super tall one with the curly hair.
- 33:14Speaker 1: Oh okay, so dumb Donald's the one with the mask.
- 33:17Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, with the hat mask that's full down over
- 33:19Speaker 4: his eyes.
- 33:20Speaker 3: That's dumb.
- 33:20Speaker 1: Maybe I did like dumb Donald, because that was also
- 33:22Speaker 1: very tell good, then me tell like this.
- 33:26Speaker 2: I could like to see you. I've been everyone would
- 33:28Speaker 2: like to see you do a fat Alburt episode.
- 33:30Speaker 1: I auditioned for the I auditioned for the Fat Albert movie.
- 33:33Speaker 1: I wanted to be Rude. Everybody wanted to be Rudy.
- 33:35Speaker 1: Everybody wanted to be Rudy.
- 33:37Speaker 2: Who got it? I forgot who got that?
- 33:40Speaker 3: We could look that up.
- 33:41Speaker 2: Okay, God, we're giving Joel a lot of assignments today.
- 33:43Speaker 2: Joelle in the live action movie that wheelchair, really, I
- 33:47Speaker 2: thought to myself, is Donald really doing that? Because it
- 33:50Speaker 2: was impressed. I don't think you did.
- 33:52Speaker 3: I didn't, well, I was.
- 33:54Speaker 2: I was asking myself because it was pretty impressive. You
- 33:57Speaker 2: held it a long time and then when it falls
- 33:59Speaker 2: over six fifty five you can see sort of training
- 34:02Speaker 2: wheel things on the wheel. I love how you're like,
- 34:06Speaker 2: I did do it? If you pause, if you pause
- 34:12Speaker 2: it like do it? I know you don't remember, but
- 34:14Speaker 2: if you pause it like six fifty five, which I did,
- 34:16Speaker 2: you can see like on there there's like these like
- 34:18Speaker 2: stuntman special wheels, so you had training wheels full that's crazy, Rudy,
- 34:24Speaker 2: was played by shed Rak Anderson the third. Okay, that's
- 34:28Speaker 2: in the live action movie.
- 34:30Speaker 3: I don't think that's real, is Donald Donald's questioning your
- 34:34Speaker 3: I don't know he was.
- 34:36Speaker 1: Also, I know the guy that played Rudy was also
- 34:38Speaker 1: in Dreamgirls well too.
- 34:41Speaker 2: Well see if shed Rack Anderson the third was in Dreamgirls.
- 34:43Speaker 4: So this is according to IMDb two thousand and four
- 34:47Speaker 4: live action, Rudy is Shan Jack old Rudy.
- 34:50Speaker 3: Did they see some of these guys have Oh.
- 34:52Speaker 2: That might have been young Rudy or something.
- 34:54Speaker 1: Just go to Dreamgirls. The dude who was in Dreamgirls
- 34:58Speaker 1: played Rudy. I'm pretty sure of it. One that was
- 35:00Speaker 1: always with Jimmie Fox. Okay, give you anyway.
- 35:05Speaker 2: So Donald is six fifty seven when I'm watching the
- 35:08Speaker 2: TV in my hospital room, right before the janitor takes
- 35:11Speaker 2: it away. That's I'm doing all the voices in that
- 35:14Speaker 2: TV show, all right.
- 35:15Speaker 1: No, I did a couple of them too. It's Jerry Springer.
- 35:17Speaker 1: I cut you, man, Oh you don't want to you
- 35:21Speaker 1: did that, I'll cut you.
- 35:22Speaker 3: I'm I'm the dude. That's the boyfriend. I played the boyfriend. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 35:28Speaker 2: I didn't know, as both of us I thought it
- 35:29Speaker 2: was just me. No, Yeah, am I the man or
- 35:31Speaker 2: the woman?
- 35:31Speaker 3: I don't even remember you're you're the woman? I cut you?
- 35:34Speaker 3: How cut you? Now?
- 35:40Speaker 2: I should have been a funny runner that whenever there
- 35:42Speaker 2: was a TV show on and you didn't see it, it
- 35:44Speaker 2: was our voices.
- 35:44Speaker 3: It was our voices.
- 35:45Speaker 2: I think that may be the only time we did.
- 35:47Speaker 3: It well Danny. That was one thing Danny would do.
- 35:49Speaker 1: He would be like, you guys, wanna you wanna He
- 35:52Speaker 1: would even let me hear what you did, so I
- 35:55Speaker 1: knew everything that you were gonna say, and then I
- 35:57Speaker 1: said something to match what you It's.
- 36:00Speaker 2: Probably the very first season we were just so excited to
- 36:02Speaker 2: do anything, whereas.
- 36:03Speaker 3: It was just like, please know Danny, I don't want
- 36:05Speaker 3: to please.
- 36:06Speaker 2: We gotta go home. Yeah, but season one we're like,
- 36:09Speaker 2: do you need me to do any other voices? I
- 36:12Speaker 2: could do the TV voices.
- 36:15Speaker 1: Speaking of late night sketch shows, Yeah, Michael McDonald is
- 36:20Speaker 1: on this episode.
- 36:20Speaker 2: From Mad TV.
- 36:21Speaker 3: He went on to direct.
- 36:23Speaker 1: Episodes for Scrubby and he came back as that character again.
- 36:27Speaker 2: Yes, And I thought this was the one where he
- 36:28Speaker 2: was going to say his most famous line. I broke
- 36:31Speaker 2: my penis right, But it wasn't that.
- 36:34Speaker 3: No, it wasn't that when this is the introduction for
- 36:36Speaker 3: that character.
- 36:37Speaker 2: He's very funny and I'm very sweet man. By the way,
- 36:40Speaker 2: what's the what's the you know what I mean? Karen?
- 36:42Speaker 2: Is anyone keeping track of Donald said?
- 36:44Speaker 3: Have I said?
- 36:44Speaker 2: You know what I mean? You've ruined the drinking game
- 36:46Speaker 2: for people?
- 36:47Speaker 3: Have I said it today?
- 36:48Speaker 2: I'm you know what I'm saying.
- 36:50Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying. I mean, I.
- 36:51Speaker 2: Remember when you came into work one day, like, you
- 36:53Speaker 2: know what the new thing? Like Donald woud always tell
- 36:54Speaker 2: me like what the you know?
- 36:55Speaker 3: I'm just like, you know what I'm saying has always
- 36:57Speaker 3: been going on.
- 36:58Speaker 2: But dude, I remember when you came in one day
- 37:00Speaker 2: and you were like because Donald would alway keep me
- 37:02Speaker 2: in breast of like, you know, the new the new cool.
- 37:05Speaker 3: Saying the new slang.
- 37:06Speaker 2: Yeah, and he'd be like, you know what the new
- 37:07Speaker 2: thing is, that's what's up, That's what's up.
- 37:11Speaker 3: And that's what's up.
- 37:13Speaker 2: Dude. I remember you coming in and be like you
- 37:16Speaker 2: were like giving your nerdy white friend an insider info.
- 37:18Speaker 2: You're like, hey, just you know, like like with like
- 37:20Speaker 2: with your hand over your mouth, like, don't tell anyone,
- 37:22Speaker 2: but the new thing is, that's what's up. And you
- 37:25Speaker 2: to this day you say that's what's up all the time.
- 37:27Speaker 3: All the time. That's what's up. Is the that is
- 37:31Speaker 3: what is up.
- 37:32Speaker 2: You use it like for everything. It's like, you know,
- 37:35Speaker 2: you know how like in the Smurfs, they'd be like,
- 37:37Speaker 2: I smurfed him, Papa Smurf Donald. It's like a universal expression.
- 37:41Speaker 2: You'd be like, Donald, be like, how you doing. I'm like,
- 37:43Speaker 2: I'm great, man, I'm just feeling good. Just did a
- 37:45Speaker 2: big workout.
- 37:46Speaker 3: That's what's up, because that is what's up.
- 37:49Speaker 2: Yeah, And you're like, hey man, what are you doing?
- 37:50Speaker 2: You want to go out to dinner? Yeah, let's do it.
- 37:51Speaker 2: That's what's up.
- 37:52Speaker 3: That's what's up. Keep it one hundred. That's what's up.
- 37:57Speaker 2: That's what's up.
- 37:58Speaker 3: Keep it one hundred. Replace keep it real all right.
- 38:01Speaker 2: So I'm just looking at what Joel said. The guy
- 38:03Speaker 2: from dream Girls was Keith Robinson and he played Bill.
- 38:06Speaker 1: Yes, Keith, he played Bill. Ah he played Bill. So
- 38:10Speaker 1: then who played Rudy? Oh you already said.
- 38:12Speaker 2: It, shud Jack Anderson the third Come on, try and
- 38:14Speaker 2: keep up, Donald, that's what's up.
- 38:16Speaker 3: That's what's up.
- 38:17Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 38:19Speaker 3: Well, you can't drink.
- 38:20Speaker 2: You don't drink if I say it.
- 38:21Speaker 3: Everybody Jack said that, not me.
- 38:23Speaker 2: Yeah. So A twenty three is the second full body
- 38:25Speaker 2: makeup thing.
- 38:26Speaker 3: Full bronze all gold or bronze.
- 38:29Speaker 2: All bronze, I believe. Yeah, that took that took some time,
- 38:32Speaker 2: as you can imagine getting your full body bron.
- 38:35Speaker 3: Well, you didn't have any bodies had no Well you
- 38:38Speaker 3: still look skinny, man.
- 38:39Speaker 2: Well they didn't do like my penis, but they put
- 38:41Speaker 2: on like a you know, banana hammock, bronze banhana hammock.
- 38:44Speaker 2: They had to do everything.
- 38:46Speaker 3: For those of you who can't see Zach Braff right now,
- 38:48Speaker 3: My buddy works out every day, he eats healthy, He
- 38:53Speaker 3: has someone making him meals.
- 38:55Speaker 2: Right now, you make it sound like, well I do
- 38:58Speaker 2: have a chef, but it's my girlfriend. It's not like
- 38:59Speaker 2: I've hired. I have an amazing.
- 39:00Speaker 1: I wasn't going to get to all of that. I
- 39:03Speaker 1: wasn't going to get into any of that.
- 39:05Speaker 3: All I was saying, are you you're looking at my
- 39:07Speaker 3: muscles right now, aren't you? Yeah?
- 39:09Speaker 2: I have something I have something embarrassing to say, though,
- 39:11Speaker 2: so I bought this. This is a black widow tank top.
- 39:15Speaker 3: Nice. Have you seen black Widow yet?
- 39:18Speaker 2: I can't comment on that, but this, this is a
- 39:20Speaker 2: black widow tank top with with Elena on it. And
- 39:23Speaker 2: I thought it would be fun to order it.
- 39:25Speaker 3: And oh, so her character's name is Jolena.
- 39:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that's public. Be it better be you.
- 39:30Speaker 2: We got to edit it out, Joe. Joelle's notving Joelle.
- 39:35Speaker 3: Are you sure about that?
- 39:35Speaker 1: It's Jolena Joel's Yeah, you might have an exclusive.
- 39:40Speaker 3: Disney is going to be pissed. So is Marble. But
- 39:44Speaker 3: Disney's going to be pissed.
- 39:46Speaker 2: No, No, it's public. It's public. But anyway, So I
- 39:48Speaker 2: ordered this tank top because I thought it would be
- 39:50Speaker 2: funny and cute and and it came as a it's
- 39:54Speaker 2: a women's medium.
- 39:56Speaker 3: And it's fits you.
- 39:57Speaker 4: Know.
- 39:57Speaker 2: What arrived is a women's like medium, are large, and
- 40:01Speaker 2: it fits you. My point is you might think I
- 40:03Speaker 2: look particularly muscular today. It's because I'm wearing a women's
- 40:06Speaker 2: medium tank.
- 40:09Speaker 1: It doesn't look like it's a medium for a woman.
- 40:14Speaker 2: It looks like, let me look, let me look, let
- 40:16Speaker 2: me look. It's women's large. It's a women's large.
- 40:19Speaker 3: Okay, there we go.
- 40:20Speaker 2: But it has a female cut, you see that, Like
- 40:22Speaker 2: they don't cut men's tank tops like this. They don't know,
- 40:25Speaker 2: but anyway, it's it's all. It's all they had.
- 40:27Speaker 3: So well, you look good your workout every day.
- 40:30Speaker 2: And Joelle just said that it is public, so don't
- 40:32Speaker 2: get me in trouble.
- 40:33Speaker 3: Okay, so what's your name again?
- 40:35Speaker 2: The only exclusive that you're not getting, which isn't exclusive
- 40:38Speaker 2: is her character's name is Yolena.
- 40:40Speaker 3: Let's move on.
- 40:41Speaker 2: Let's move on. Carla had a funny ass line. You know,
- 40:44Speaker 2: we were just talking when Judy was on about how
- 40:46Speaker 2: she didn't always get jokes. But I laughed out loud
- 40:49Speaker 2: at nine minutes when she goes, you don't want one
- 40:51Speaker 2: hundred pound white girl mad at you. It'll flinch every
- 40:54Speaker 2: time you hear a range rover. That was funny.
- 40:58Speaker 3: Yeah, it was.
- 41:00Speaker 2: Now when JD says, do they celebrate Thanksgiving in your homeland?
- 41:03Speaker 3: We do.
- 41:04Speaker 2: We believe that JD, who's gone to med school and
- 41:08Speaker 2: is very intelligent, is he just playing a joke or
- 41:10Speaker 2: does he seriously not understand that. I think he's from
- 41:15Speaker 2: that Carlos from Chicago.
- 41:17Speaker 3: I think he's being funny.
- 41:18Speaker 2: Trying to make her laugh, Yeah.
- 41:20Speaker 1: Trying to make her laugh, and then realizes he said
- 41:22Speaker 1: a really bad joke because his responsible or.
- 41:24Speaker 2: Maybe he's asking the Dominican Republic. Is that what it is?
- 41:28Speaker 3: Well? Yeah, her character is Dominican.
- 41:30Speaker 2: Yes, I know. But do you think the character of
- 41:33Speaker 2: JD is trying to be funny or is he saying
- 41:35Speaker 2: to people in Dominical Republic celebrate Thanksgiving?
- 41:37Speaker 3: Maybe?
- 41:38Speaker 2: Maybe maybe can we talk about how amazing you're moonwalking is?
- 41:42Speaker 2: At nine to twenty five when you sing I get
- 41:44Speaker 2: to cut you open?
- 41:45Speaker 1: You know, I worked really hard on moonwalking as a
- 41:49Speaker 1: youth after I saw Michael Jackson do it, very, very
- 41:52Speaker 1: very don't.
- 41:52Speaker 2: You learn to do that? Fucking hell, it's so good.
- 41:55Speaker 3: You can't moonwalk.
- 41:56Speaker 2: I can do a little bit of backwards, but it
- 41:58Speaker 2: doesn't look like what you're doing.
- 42:00Speaker 3: And go side to side to side, dude, Is it's.
- 42:02Speaker 2: Still moonwalking if you're going all around and moving forward.
- 42:04Speaker 3: Absolutely, it's a moonwalk.
- 42:05Speaker 1: As long as you're moving backwards, like in a backwards direction,
- 42:10Speaker 1: even if it's side to side, it's moonwalking. And when
- 42:13Speaker 1: you're walking in place that's considered moonwalk.
- 42:15Speaker 2: Michael Jackson, sorry for this. Stupid question. But did Michael
- 42:18Speaker 2: Jackson really invent the moonwalk?
- 42:20Speaker 3: No, it was around way before Michael Jackson. He's like
- 42:22Speaker 3: a tap danser.
- 42:23Speaker 1: I feel like a tap dancer created the moonwalk and
- 42:26Speaker 1: Michael Jackson just bit off of it.
- 42:28Speaker 2: No. No, so Michael Jackson just made it famous then
- 42:31Speaker 2: probably right?
- 42:32Speaker 1: Yeah, well yeah, Motown twenty five and he busts into.
- 42:40Speaker 3: Dude.
- 42:40Speaker 2: Doom, Dude, you literally give me a good.
- 42:45Speaker 1: Dude ahead doom doom.
- 42:49Speaker 3: Right. If you were a breakdancer, you knew how to
- 42:51Speaker 3: moon walk.
- 42:52Speaker 2: I think I saw Breaking the movie in the theater.
- 42:54Speaker 2: I mean it was it was. Breaking was such a
- 42:56Speaker 2: popular break Breaking.
- 42:58Speaker 1: It was the West Coast version of break dancing, and
- 43:00Speaker 1: then the East Coast version of breakdancing was beat Street.
- 43:06Speaker 2: Okay, I never ever see Bret Street.
- 43:08Speaker 3: Never saw a beat Street, Beach Street. You never saw
- 43:10Speaker 3: a beat Street.
- 43:11Speaker 2: No, but I remember Steady Crew.
- 43:13Speaker 3: All these people were in that bad boy. It was
- 43:16Speaker 3: like all of the East Coast. Yeah, Breaking the movie
- 43:20Speaker 3: was the West Coast.
- 43:21Speaker 2: I love that movie. Do you remember some of the
- 43:23Speaker 2: characters O.
- 43:24Speaker 3: Zone, Zey Turbo Kelly.
- 43:29Speaker 2: I just thought these people were so cool when I
- 43:31Speaker 2: was a kid, This was nineteen eighty four. This looks
- 43:33Speaker 2: like it came out and then they and then they
- 43:35Speaker 2: did a sequel, Electric Boogaloo.
- 43:36Speaker 1: Yeah, breaking too, the Electric Boogoloo. And that's when they're
- 43:40Speaker 1: trying to save the school. They're trying to save the school.
- 43:42Speaker 2: If you're a young person listening to this, just know
- 43:45Speaker 2: that breakdancing was so popular that they were making breakdancing
- 43:47Speaker 2: movies back in the day.
- 43:48Speaker 3: And Turbo gets hurt and these brind's up in the hospital.
- 43:52Speaker 2: Are we gonna take a break? Bro, We're gonna, We're gonna,
- 43:54Speaker 2: We're gonna moon walk into a break. Here we go. Hey, Joe, Oh,
- 44:06Speaker 2: give him his Oprah intro.
- 44:07Speaker 1: Come on, ladies and gentlemen, give it up for Joe Mody.
- 44:13Speaker 2: What's going on, guys? You New York? Joe?
- 44:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm stayed up albody. He's from Albany.

- 44:33Speaker 3: He looks good. Look at the arms show him to
- 44:35Speaker 3: arms man.
- 44:35Speaker 2: Well, Joe. These arms aren't usually this big, but when
- 44:37Speaker 2: you wear a woman's tank top you tend to look
- 44:40Speaker 2: a little bit larger. You look great as always, there, Zach,
- 44:44Speaker 2: Thank you, sir, thank you. Welcome, Welcome aboard. Do you
- 44:47Speaker 2: have any questions for the legendary Donald Faison.

- 44:52Speaker 6: is honestly a dream come true. I'm a giant fan
- 44:54Speaker 6: of the show and you can't thank you guys enough
- 44:57Speaker 6: for having me on.
- 44:58Speaker 3: Thank you so much, have you.
- 44:59Speaker 2: We're just happy to be doing it, man, we we
- 45:00Speaker 2: you know people. It's funny. On social media, people are
- 45:03Speaker 2: are loving it and saying thank you to Donald and
- 45:05Speaker 2: I for doing this so much, whereas Donald and I
- 45:07Speaker 2: are like, thank you for having any interest at all
- 45:10Speaker 2: because we're both so bored in quarantine. The fact that
- 45:12Speaker 2: we get to sit around and joke with each other
- 45:14Speaker 2: twice a week, and the fact that anyone is listening
- 45:17Speaker 2: beyond our moms is amazing. Sore mom doesn't listen to
- 45:20Speaker 2: the show, sorry, beyond my mom my mom My mom
- 45:23Speaker 2: texts me after every episode, and it's more interest than
- 45:27Speaker 2: in any other thing I've ever done. My mom My
- 45:29Speaker 2: mom like text me like, oh my god, I loved
- 45:32Speaker 2: how Johnny C was calling you Zachy and Donald was
- 45:35Speaker 2: so funny today and I get I get notes from
- 45:37Speaker 2: my mom. I'm sorry, go ahead, buddy, all right.
- 45:40Speaker 6: So first question is when Colin Farrell was on the show,
- 45:45Speaker 6: he turned the hospital into just a thirst frenzy. Did
- 45:49Speaker 6: the same thing happen on set? And who was the
- 45:52Speaker 6: thirstiest for it?
- 45:53Speaker 2: Sarah?
- 45:54Speaker 3: Sarah was definitely no Judy might.
- 45:59Speaker 2: Sarah was riled up. I mean I remember, I remember
- 46:03Speaker 2: being jealous. Actually, to be honest that I mean, I know,
- 46:05Speaker 2: Colin Ferrell's Colin Farrell and everything, and he's a very
- 46:07Speaker 2: handsome man, but I was very good all right, all right,
- 46:09Speaker 2: I was like, Sarah, bring it down. Let's bring it
- 46:11Speaker 2: down a little bit. Yeah, I mean, I think all
- 46:17Speaker 2: the women were giddy. He's a very very handsome man
- 46:19Speaker 2: and charming and so charming, and Colin, you know, is
- 46:23Speaker 2: a huge movie stars still at the time, it was
- 46:26Speaker 2: like the height of his explosion. So the fact that
- 46:29Speaker 2: he did it, I think he was probably one of
- 46:30Speaker 2: the biggest stars we ever had on the show. And
- 46:33Speaker 2: I remember, just just as a shout out to Colin,
- 46:35Speaker 2: I remember at the time, you know, we we gave
- 46:38Speaker 2: him a chunk of money to be on the show,
- 46:39Speaker 2: and he gave it all to his charity as another
- 46:42Speaker 2: testament to his character of being a good man's awesome.
- 46:47Speaker 2: But no, everyone, everyone, including Donald and I were a
- 46:50Speaker 2: little giddy that Colin was visiting you.
- 46:52Speaker 3: Honestly, no, I mean, come on, do you have another question?
- 46:56Speaker 1: Have another question you can ask you if they're you know,
- 46:59Speaker 1: bad quince, well just edited out, don't worry.
- 47:01Speaker 6: Yeah, So my second question kind of retains towards Sarah's
- 47:09Speaker 6: character Elliott as well. So Elliott is in my personal
- 47:12Speaker 6: pantheon of like all time TV crushes growing up. I
- 47:15Speaker 6: was I was probably like thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, when you know,
- 47:18Speaker 6: this show was really going. So I was wondering, who,
- 47:21Speaker 6: in your minds is in your pantheon?
- 47:23Speaker 2: Oh, boy, crushes, I've.
- 47:26Speaker 3: Got a couple.
- 47:26Speaker 1: I've got a few of them, Okay, and i'll ye start.
- 47:31Speaker 1: Lark Vorhees from Saved by the Bell. She played Lisa
- 47:34Speaker 1: Turtle holy Cow. When I was a kid, I was
- 47:38Speaker 1: so in love with her. I also was so in
- 47:42Speaker 1: love with Jada Pickett Smith on UH when she was
- 47:46Speaker 1: on a Different World. Oh my gosh, you couldn't tell
- 47:51Speaker 1: me nothing bad about Jada Pickett before she became Will
- 47:55Speaker 1: Smith's wife.
- 47:56Speaker 3: Oh my gosh. And still to this day she's still right.
- 48:00Speaker 3: Who else? Of course, Carrie Fisher, Princess Leiah.
- 48:05Speaker 2: Right, he did kind of say TV shows.
- 48:07Speaker 3: But we'll take it from TV.
- 48:08Speaker 2: I mean, well, because I was gonna say, I was
- 48:11Speaker 2: gonna say, Lisia's Silverstone is the first that came to
- 48:13Speaker 2: my mind. But that's technically a film. But you don't
- 48:15Speaker 2: mind if we go film. You just mean our youth crushes. Yes,
- 48:19Speaker 2: I mean I opened the rabbit hole.
- 48:20Speaker 6: You guys feel free to jump right in.
- 48:22Speaker 3: Well, those are my three, Those are my three, right.
- 48:24Speaker 2: My first was was Suzanne Summers on Three's Company. Now,
- 48:28Speaker 2: when I was a little boy watching Suzanne Summers on
- 48:30Speaker 2: Three's Company, she was doing things to me that I
- 48:32Speaker 2: didn't I didn't know what was happening to me. And
- 48:35Speaker 2: we were a religious family. And I sat down at
- 48:37Speaker 2: the shabbat. We would have Shabbat dinner on Friday nights,
- 48:40Speaker 2: and I was eight years old, and I sat down
- 48:41Speaker 2: at the Shabbat dinner and I raised my hand because
- 48:45Speaker 2: my dad was quite stern when it came to Shabbat dinner,
- 48:47Speaker 2: and he said, go ahead, Zach, And I said, Dad,
- 48:50Speaker 2: why does my penis get hard when I look at
- 48:53Speaker 2: Chrissy from Three's Company. I had no idea that it
- 49:05Speaker 2: was anything inappropriate to bring up at Shabbat dinner?
- 49:09Speaker 3: Did you get dismissed from the table?
- 49:11Speaker 2: No, my father, Instantly everyone died started dying, laughing as
- 49:14Speaker 2: you would. It was the fin I mean, I really
- 49:16Speaker 2: you know, I didn't know what it was. I was
- 49:17Speaker 2: a genuine like, hello, father, I have a question. I'm
- 49:21Speaker 2: having a physical reaction to Chrissy from Three's Company, and
- 49:25Speaker 2: I would like everyone at the table to weigh in
- 49:27Speaker 2: on what it might be. My whole life, my whole life.
- 49:35Speaker 2: Everyone in my family has joked about that story. The
- 49:37Speaker 2: other the other idea, the other one that came to
- 49:40Speaker 2: my mind right away when you said it was Nicole
- 49:42Speaker 2: eggert On Charles in Charge.
- 49:43Speaker 3: Yes, absolutely, that was another one.
- 49:45Speaker 2: Yes, Nicole eggert On Charles and Alyssa Milanolo of course,
- 49:49Speaker 2: also Joe from Facts of Life. I had a weird thing.
- 49:53Speaker 3: Now you were tuty.
- 49:55Speaker 2: You know a lot of people are you know, are
- 49:57Speaker 2: Blair or Tutty? I was a Joe guy. Interesting but
- 50:01Speaker 2: Nicole Eggert was just I remember thinking like, what are
- 50:04Speaker 2: these feelings? What are these feelings? Also Linda Carter in
- 50:11Speaker 2: wonder Woman, there was a special episode she'd spun around
- 50:13Speaker 2: once and she'd be regular wonder Woman. There was a
- 50:16Speaker 2: special episode or two where she would spin around a
- 50:18Speaker 2: second time and she'd be in a bathing suit, a
- 50:21Speaker 2: wonder Woman bathing suit.
- 50:22Speaker 1: Well, she would spin around again and then she'd have
- 50:24Speaker 1: the bike outfit or oh I didn't.
- 50:26Speaker 2: I guess I didn't watch all the episodes. I didn't know.
- 50:28Speaker 2: How do you think she could tell her her magic like, hey,
- 50:31Speaker 2: I need bike outfit? Hey I need I think.
- 50:34Speaker 1: It's just a power that wonder Woman has where she
- 50:37Speaker 1: you know, she says this is the situation.
- 50:40Speaker 3: Really gear up, all right?
- 50:42Speaker 2: So you're saying she's when she's spinning, she's telling her
- 50:45Speaker 2: her magical powers. I need the regular outfit, or I
- 50:47Speaker 2: need cyclist wonder Woman, or I need bathing suit.
- 50:50Speaker 1: Wonder I don't even think she has to tell her
- 50:52Speaker 1: power that. I think it does it audi.
- 50:53Speaker 2: The power just knows this is the situation. We're about
- 50:55Speaker 2: to go swimming. You don't need the cyclist uniform.
- 50:57Speaker 3: Right, all right? You know, hey, one more question, one
- 51:01Speaker 3: more question.
- 51:02Speaker 2: OK.
- 51:03Speaker 6: I was gonna say that reminds me of quick change
- 51:04Speaker 6: from the NBA halftime show?
- 51:06Speaker 2: Is Donald?
- 51:06Speaker 6: You might you might catch that one.
- 51:08Speaker 2: I don't know what that is.
- 51:09Speaker 3: What do you mean by quick change?
- 51:11Speaker 6: It's a halftime show. This person just like puts a
- 51:14Speaker 6: robe up, puts down, different outfit, robe up, rope down.
- 51:17Speaker 1: Yeah, right where it's like one of those pull off things, right, yeah, exactly.
- 51:21Speaker 3: You have another question, Joe.
- 51:23Speaker 2: You stumped Donald in NBA trivia.
- 51:25Speaker 3: I just I don't go to I haven't been to
- 51:26Speaker 3: a lot of games in a while.
- 51:27Speaker 2: There's a Chicago Bulls documentary going on. Are you watching that? Donald?
- 51:31Speaker 3: I am watching it. I don't know. Listen head furious.
- 51:35Speaker 3: I'm gonna tell you something.
- 51:36Speaker 1: I think everybody's watching it because, first of all, when
- 51:39Speaker 1: I was a kid, Michael Jordan. I think everybody can
- 51:41Speaker 1: speak for how magical Michael. You know there's Magic Johnson,
- 51:45Speaker 1: but then there was Michael Jordan. I think for me
- 51:48Speaker 1: he was my idol growing up.
- 51:50Speaker 3: You know what I mean.
- 51:50Speaker 1: You could say we could talk Denzel, we could talk
- 51:53Speaker 1: Harrison Ford, but you know the one that did it
- 51:57Speaker 1: for real, for every male in America, maybe even the
- 52:02Speaker 1: world was Michael Jordan. That's that was done right, like
- 52:06Speaker 1: the basketball, the competitive spirit, the IQ to be able
- 52:10Speaker 1: to turn all of that into money as well. Like
- 52:13Speaker 1: just like Michael Jordan was everybody's hero, every young male's hero.
- 52:18Speaker 1: That and also he made having a ball head cool.
- 52:21Speaker 1: There were a bunch of people with bald heads before that.
- 52:23Speaker 1: There was Kojak, there was lou Gassi Jr. Well, yeah,
- 52:27Speaker 1: mister clean. There were a bunch of people who had
- 52:30Speaker 1: bald heads before Michael Jordan. It wasn't until Michael Jordan
- 52:33Speaker 1: that people with hair were like, you know what, I'm
- 52:35Speaker 1: shaving this bad boy.
- 52:36Speaker 2: So he's inspirational for your bald head.
- 52:39Speaker 3: Well, yeah, because he made it cool to be a baldy,
- 52:41Speaker 3: to have a bald head. You know.
- 52:43Speaker 1: There was a movie back in the day called The Wanderers,
- 52:45Speaker 1: and the bad guys in the movie were called baldy's.
- 52:49Speaker 3: And that sucked, dude. It sucked to you know.
- 52:52Speaker 1: When when if you didn't like the way your hairline was,
- 52:56Speaker 1: you had to live with that.
- 52:57Speaker 2: But then you're trying to spray on stuff. By the way, No, man, no, no,
- 53:00Speaker 2: Because when I saw those infomercials.
- 53:01Speaker 3: I said, no, man, rock that, no, no, no, no, no.
- 53:04Speaker 2: I'm gonna get you something for Hannah.
- 53:05Speaker 3: I've never died my head. You know what I did?
- 53:08Speaker 3: You know what?
- 53:08Speaker 1: I take it back. Recently, I was doing this show
- 53:13Speaker 1: and I was putting the dust that the spray, right,
- 53:18Speaker 1: not the spray, the dust, just dust, okay, that people use.
- 53:22Speaker 1: And I was doing an interview for US Weekly and
- 53:26Speaker 1: one of the co stars from my show, who's very young,
- 53:29Speaker 1: she must have been thirteen or fourteen at the time,
- 53:34Speaker 1: she goes, you know, look at Donald's hair. Look at
- 53:36Speaker 1: how much hair he has. I've got a secret to tell.
- 53:39Speaker 3: I didn't know that that was dust.
- 53:43Speaker 1: I put my hand on his head and I pulled
- 53:45Speaker 1: it away and I had a bunch of like dust
- 53:47Speaker 1: on my hand.
- 53:49Speaker 2: To US Weekly, Oh my god, did they print that?
- 53:52Speaker 1: It made it to it made it, but thank goodness,
- 53:54Speaker 1: it didn't go viral. I fell to the floor laughing.
- 53:59Speaker 1: So I've never been more embarrassed in my life. So
- 54:02Speaker 1: from that moment on, I was like, I'll never use
- 54:04Speaker 1: the dust again. I'm never using the dust.
- 54:06Speaker 2: Ron Pappeel I think that was his name. He had
- 54:08Speaker 2: a spray on hair. I remember there was an infomercial.
- 54:10Speaker 3: Yeah, it was in The Fabulous Baker Boys too.
- 54:12Speaker 2: All right, man, well, thank you for your questions. You
- 54:15Speaker 2: take a trip down memory lane for our crushes were
- 54:20Speaker 2: again you guys having me. Thank you, thank you so much,
- 54:24Speaker 2: and thanks for listening, and uh and and thanks for
- 54:26Speaker 2: being a fan of the show. We really genuinely appreciate it.
- 54:29Speaker 3: Ladies and gentlemen. Give it up for Joe.
- 54:31Speaker 2: Mooney thunders applause. Thank good. Let's get back into the episode.
- 54:45Speaker 2: You know, at eleven o five, I kind we kind
- 54:47Speaker 2: of touched on this, but I thought it was a
- 54:48Speaker 2: rare moment of Kelso actually practicing medicine. You never saw Kelso.
- 54:53Speaker 2: I mean, can you think of another time. I'm sure
- 54:54Speaker 2: there are, but I mean, for me, I'm surprised that
- 54:56Speaker 2: he's actually working on a patient. It's nothing you ever saw.
- 55:00Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, I was discussing that earlier, the episode
- 55:03Speaker 1: where we all lose a patient. Kelso's practicing medicine in
- 55:07Speaker 1: that episode as well, and I touched on it in
- 55:10Speaker 1: that episode. Whenever there was death in the hospital, when
- 55:14Speaker 1: whenever the hospital, whenever we were as characters against the
- 55:20Speaker 1: odds of what the hospital could do to the patients.
- 55:23Speaker 1: Kelso was practicing medicine. Kelso's one of the heroes. Other
- 55:26Speaker 1: than that he is the obstacle.
- 55:28Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, well that was kind of cool. You know,
- 55:31Speaker 2: I didn't have much memory of Kelso actually saving a patient.
- 55:35Speaker 3: And it'll happen again when Dick Van Dyke's on the
- 55:37Speaker 3: show as well.
- 55:38Speaker 2: Oh that's right, fourteen seventeen. I laughed out loud when
- 55:42Speaker 2: you go, baby, I was being a wallrus.
- 55:45Speaker 1: Yeah, and then we call right back to that joke.
- 55:48Speaker 3: We called the joke right back, right, We call it
- 55:51Speaker 3: back right away.
- 55:52Speaker 2: See if you can name this film raighty, make me
- 55:54Speaker 2: think of this.
- 55:55Speaker 3: On Breakfast Club before you even do it.
- 55:56Speaker 2: Come on, man, you're ruining it for the fans.
- 55:59Speaker 3: The fans know what the Breakfast Club is.
- 56:01Speaker 2: No, but they might have wanted a little bit of
- 56:03Speaker 2: a trivia game.
- 56:04Speaker 4: Do it.
- 56:05Speaker 3: Do it now, and then I'll pretend that I didn't know.
- 56:07Speaker 2: And I don't know. I don't want to edit your
- 56:09Speaker 2: fuck up.
- 56:10Speaker 3: It's not my fuck up.
- 56:12Speaker 1: It's me knowing you as well as I know you
- 56:16Speaker 1: listening that you're gonna do.
- 56:17Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, it's like a married couple who's like
- 56:20Speaker 2: I've heard this story a zillion times. He's gonna do
- 56:23Speaker 2: Anthony Michael Holland breakfast Club, fucking asshole. Listen. Imagine you're
- 56:27Speaker 2: listening to this and you're on your hike, or you're
- 56:29Speaker 2: on your treadmill, or you're walking your dog, or you're
- 56:32Speaker 2: breastfeeding your kid, and you go ooh, Zach's gonna give
- 56:35Speaker 2: us a little trivia question. Donald ruins it.
- 56:39Speaker 1: If you have another trivia question about a Walrice, I
- 56:41Speaker 1: will totally wait for you to do this story. I
- 56:44Speaker 1: got one, Okay, go ahead.
- 56:45Speaker 2: Oh no, it's what's the name of the manatee that
- 56:48Speaker 2: lives underneath the hospital?
- 56:50Speaker 3: Oh? Is it Walris? No, I don't know.
- 56:54Speaker 2: It's Julian fourteen fifty two, the premiere of Wrong, Wrong, Wrong, Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong,
- 57:12Speaker 2: You're right, wrong, You're wrong? He does that again? Right,
- 57:15Speaker 2: I just forget.
- 57:15Speaker 3: Yeah, you know it's interesting. On the wrong clock, it's three.
- 57:19Speaker 2: It's three o'clock on the wrong clock.
- 57:21Speaker 3: Yeah, on the wrong clock it's three.
- 57:22Speaker 2: That's very clever that you figured that out, is it.
- 57:26Speaker 2: I never realized that the wrong clock was three o'clock.
- 57:31Speaker 2: It's kind of a weird fantasy thing. It's seventeen forty one,
- 57:33Speaker 2: when you're operating on me that you then look up
- 57:37Speaker 2: into the lens as my bird's eye point of view.
- 57:40Speaker 2: I thought that was sort of not something we did
- 57:42Speaker 2: a lot of. That was kind of unique.
- 57:44Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, it's a funny joke too, is truth
- 57:47Speaker 1: in the matter, whereas a lot of people claim that
- 57:51Speaker 1: when they're out and unconscious in the hospital and are
- 57:55Speaker 1: going through whatever it is that they're going through, that
- 57:59Speaker 1: they're not in their bodies, but they're standing over their
- 58:02Speaker 1: bodies always watching.
- 58:04Speaker 3: You.
- 58:04Speaker 1: Hear that story a lot, and I believe I could
- 58:07Speaker 1: be wrong. I believe it was a call to that, you.
- 58:11Speaker 2: Know, man, I'm just saying it was cleverly done. And
- 58:13Speaker 2: then you you looked up into the lens again. I
- 58:15Speaker 2: talked about how in the show we don't have too
- 58:17Speaker 2: much in the lens looking. Actually, it happens twice on
- 58:20Speaker 2: purpose in this episode when Sarah when the jokey thing
- 58:23Speaker 2: where Sarah punches me and I turn right into the
- 58:25Speaker 2: lens kind of like raging bull. And then and then
- 58:28Speaker 2: with you doing it up to the to the camera
- 58:30Speaker 2: on the ceiling when I'm watching you operate. But the
- 58:33Speaker 2: way that was a cool thing just as as on
- 58:35Speaker 2: a serious Turk note that they really sell in this
- 58:38Speaker 2: episode that like all joking aside, Turks are really good surgeon,
- 58:41Speaker 2: which I thought was cool.
- 58:43Speaker 1: I think that was important for everyone to understand. Also,
- 58:47Speaker 1: you know, the hospital in a lot of ways, the
- 58:50Speaker 1: setting in the hospital is very joky and and these
- 58:54Speaker 1: guys are it's it's a bunch of comic relief. But
- 58:57Speaker 1: at the end of the day, these guys are very, very,
- 59:00Speaker 1: very good at their jobs. And you know, as Bill
- 59:03Speaker 1: talks about, it's important that you laugh with them and
- 59:06Speaker 1: you cry with them, but you understand that they're very
- 59:08Speaker 1: capable exactly.
- 59:10Speaker 2: And I think for me watching rewatching the show, now,
- 59:12Speaker 2: this was a moment where Bill clearly wanted to hammer
- 59:15Speaker 2: home like you know, JD's nervous. You know, he doesn't
- 59:18Speaker 2: know how good a surgeon he is, and Bill really
- 59:20Speaker 2: want to hammer home like no, no, Turk's a really
- 59:22Speaker 2: talented surgeon.
- 59:23Speaker 1: Right, and plays throughout the rest of the series. Also,
- 59:27Speaker 1: you know, Turk becomes a superstar surgeon him and the
- 59:32Speaker 1: Todd too, actually, believe it or not, is a very
- 59:35Speaker 1: good surgeon.
- 59:36Speaker 2: At twenty twenty one, did you stitch your initials into.
- 59:39Speaker 3: Me, yeah, that's not in fun.
- 59:42Speaker 2: And then I saw on the Scrubs wiki they pointed
- 59:45Speaker 2: out that in future episodes you never see a JD's
- 59:49Speaker 2: scar on all the times that he's shirtless.
- 59:53Speaker 3: Oh that's interesting.
- 59:55Speaker 2: The last thing I wrote down on if you have
- 59:56Speaker 2: anything else was I think I think I improved. The
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: last thing there was the Nina.
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: Yeah you did.
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: I remember laughing so hard at that too, I remember,
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: and I and I laughed because I remember you having
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: to explain to me, no, those were the ships.
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: Yeah, because aout, wasn't it.
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: The Nina, the Pinta, and the Santa Maria.
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: Santa Maria.
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: Yeah, Joelle's nodding. Nice. Oh see see elementary school paid off,
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: it did.
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: There was something that you stated your character states when
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: we're all walking into the bar, about how when you
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: work with people, you become family with them. And I
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: just thought while watching that, I was like, holy cow,
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: you know we worked together long enough that we all
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: became a family, you know what I mean? Where you know,
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: I look at Sarah and Judy as my sisters. I
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: look at you and Bill and John c McGinley as
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: my brothers.
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: And I still cherished to this day. I cherish the
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: moments that we spent together. And if you're ever able
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: at any moment in time to just be in the
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: moment and not worry about what's gonna happen in the
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: future or what's happened in the past.
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: If you're surrounded by people you truly love, you're so
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: lucky and blessed. And that's what the end of the
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: show is.
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: Saying, you know what I mean, It's saying, you know,
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: you're gonna meet a bunch of people in life, and
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: at some point you're gonna rely on other people besides yourself,
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: and if you're lucky to have those people who will
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: really step up for you, you're genuinely lucky.
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: And so I feel very lucky to have made this
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: group of friends. You know, it's very rare on a
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: project to come away with such lifelong friends, and I
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: think that's where let's put the fun of this. Going
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: back is just you know, I mean, I find myself
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: just smiling thinking about seeing Johnny the other day, or
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: seeing Judy and looking forward, of course to doing this
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: with you, And then I'm texting Bill about something I'm
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: like when you're coming back on He's like anytime you want,
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: and I don't know, it's kind of like getting the
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: family together every week. It's great.
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: It really is cool, you know what I mean. And
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: just knowing that we cared about each other and still
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: cary about each other so much that we just show
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: up for each other, even just to talk for an
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: hour and a half.
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: I think, especially during this time, I find myself really
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: longing for human connection and reaching out to friends and family.
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: And you know, when we we plan to start doing this,
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: you know, COVID hadn't hadn't hit yet, and now that
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: we're doing it in quarantine, I don't know. I think
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: it's more special than it probably would have been because
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: there's this we both have this natural instinct to want
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: to connect and relate and look back with love.
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: Yeah, and it's all love.
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: It's all love.
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: It's all love.
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: So love to all of you who are listening. This
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: is a lot of fun, and please keep hitting us
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: up on our social media. We love hearing from you.
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: We love the response has been and really fun and

- 1:03:03Speaker 2: an email to Scrubs iHeart at gmail dot com. We
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: want to thank Dan and Joel, who make this show possible.
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: Absolutely, and you also want to thank all the people
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: that we say it almost every week.
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: We want to thank all of you on the front line.

- 1:03:22Speaker 1: jobs that are out there risking your life every day

- 1:03:39Speaker 3: And on that note, kick it Wilder.
- 1:03:42Speaker 4: He's some stories about me, about us, and that's nurses.
